It just seems well prepared. He seems like he could just literally slow into this team straight away. I really looking forward to what he can do. Healthy games for the chiefs. Along with four quarterback hits i. It's not out of the realm of possibility. You get a seven eight sack season this year from taco charlton. Yeah he was cool. But you're gonna expect I mean he was the first round to you would like to see the guy that the dallas draft for. You would like to see that. They saw they could turn it on. All they needed was healthy pat and when it gets to the playoffs and then even in the playoffs once they turned it on in the second or third quarter. It was over game over. Nobody could play with them. I think they saw that and they felt like okay. We can turn this. We can turn the flip this switch whenever we need you couldn't they were good enough last year eventually. Got to the point where you can't just continue to do this every week and think you're going to get away with it and i think this year you have enough of an influx of new talent especially with a guy like jarran reed who i think is gonna comedian immediately. Come in as a starter. I think you've got some new blood on the roster. That's gonna help this team kind of pushed to that next direction. This d. line has to step up. I think the linebackers you mentioned. It should have better speed and better flow to go from sideline to sideline so yeah. It's hard to get worse. Yes especially from fifty three. One of the things that they've got to improve everett zone. Defense is is been a struggle for them was a struggle for them last year. It cost the at times and we saw it in the super bowl. Catch them in multiple ways of passing and running the football That's that's got to be something that has to change and improve for them to get to where they want to get to run. You've been talking about twenty. Oh you've been talking about the super bowl we've been talking about them being the golden state warriors. All these things right. None of that matters that they can stop a nose bleed the red zone and last year. They were not just bad in the red zone. They were historically bad. The only team in the last decade to allow touchdowns at a higher rate in the red zone van last year's chiefs was the twenty eighteen tampa. Bay buccaneers the only team. They were the second worst over the last decade when it came to allowing touchdowns in the red zone and one of the issues is once again. They couldn't stop the run and so over the last week. Or so. you've heard a lot of chiefs. I heard from steve spagnolo today. You heard it last week from tyrant. Matthew anthony hitchens was one of the guys talked about this. They are emphasizing this in a big way this offseason starting now in. Oj's and then they're going to continue to do so all the way into training camp one thing that asked to get better as i said was that is that running game. Baid sixty three carries against them ron last year in the red zone. Fourteen of those sixty three resulted in a touchdown twenty-five resulted in i now so those sixty three carries about forty of them ended up with either a first down or touchdown. You don't have to be mathematician. That's like two thirds of the carries against them in the red zone ended up being successful. Play that is horrible. I mean horrible. And so if you're looking for one area where this defense can improve next year vats it. They were pretty good with turnovers. They were pretty decent in terms of like their overall success rate on an any individual play between the twenty once. They got into the red zone though they were without question the worst events the nfl and the part that is annoying to cheese fans is maybe disagree but because they just got two good players for that to be the problem right. You're even last year right. They just had their defensive line was one of their strengths. If not their strength on on on on the on the deeds is they just get run through. I you know. I was not a good play against rockers. Because i am. I am rushing the passer. Every tom coming around and i'm leaving my gap wide open. 'cause i doing rips and swims to to get to the passer and i think chris jones for too often is looking to make a big play looking to make the big play instead of just being right there and leaving gaps in holes available in a lot of times. You see guys. just run right. Where he was or he is. And i think there's a lot of rushing the passer a lot of let me let me try swoop around and make a big play in the backfield but you leave your whole gap completely wide open. And so i. I really look at a guy like him who i think is one of the most important players on this team and i think the best player on the defense gets selfish down there because he's trying to make a big play and listen to understand it because that was my philosophy but that that hurts them down there in christian test to pick it up. And i think that's why you're seeing the reports now that he might kick out the defense of amore. Allston like on rundowns first and second down in particular. I think you're gonna see a lot of that this year. They signed jarran reed. Which is one of the most underrated signings of the era. That's he's a big. He's a big monster. Bic a bit good he can he can play so i think that's a huge signing and it gives them so much flexibility with christian jones. Because now you can kick jones outside. It's the first time we talked about this for a couple of years now but it's the first time we're all off season. It has been a plan. Apparently of having chris jones significant snaps out on the outside so he can learn. Okay here's what. I need to do against the specific formation. Here's what i do in this in this scheme like. He has more time to understand what his responsibilities are. Prestigious back all defensive in now as opposed to when he's learning the week of the titans game and looks horrible whenever he's out there at defensive end. I don't think he's gonna look that way this year. So you're going to see more of him outside. You're gonna see more jarran reed with derek nadi on the inside. That makes you much better against the run. And they've got guys. Like willie. Gay nick bolton who should be much better at flowing the football this year than the linebackers they've been thrown out there in recent years. This stephen should be much improved against the run. But ever that before ya it should be the least man at least in that part of it at least in that area. You've got like the with this team. And this offense the ability to force threes besides sent. You ain't gotta be great the ability to force threes instead of seven. That's a win for this huge. Because they that's when that's when coaches on the other side start freaking out. Oh god i gotta take chances. All gotta gotta do i gotta do more because putting up threes threes in their stuff. Like that is that is that is just huge. Uh, Anthony Hitchens is someone I like even though he's not a marquee name. Spagnola is the guy that's easy to root for Andy Reid, who doesn't love Andy Reid. So you go through the Chiefs and you think about them if they would have one on Sunday. Would people then start to get tired of the Kansas City Chiefs. And and that's just something that I have to bring up and ask. Would you have if Kansas City went back to back? Do you think people would start to say Okay enough of the Kansas City Chiefs 100%. You saw first time with your Patriots. They people hate them because they win have many unlikable players individually, but they win. They went a lot. People hate that. Did you hate Golden State? I never hated Golden State. No. You know once you someone else when I never that we're tired of Golden State when it was golden State calves for the 700 Times, 100%. That's our society, But you build people up and then when they get to the top, you want to tear him down. So I look at Kansas City of Kansas City would have one on Sunday. I don't think the hatred for Kansas City would have been there yet. I think it would have taken getting to the Super Bowl again with going back to back because we haven't seen a team go back to back since the 2000 and four regular season I think you may have some people that would have been all right enough of them. They just won back to back. I still think they're in the premature stages, though, haven't won one ring and then get him back if you would have won two than after two If you get back to a third one, and if you win a third one, and let's say the next year or two. I'm not saying that yet the love them, But I do believe that even if you don't love them, you have to appreciate his greatness him being at the age of 43 getting to a game for the 10th time and winning this game for the seventh time. And if you have to knock Tom Brady for something, anything that I hear now, the excuses air just so pathetic. So I guess I'm not the right person to ask this question, too. So I'm going to ask it to you Trace because I think it's safe to say Not that you're a Tom Brady hater. I'm not calling you Tom Brady hater. But you had a reason. A natural reason to dislike Tom Brady because of the Patriot cults rivalry for all those years. You're not as if you're just someone that from afar just goes. I'm just gonna hate this guy because he wins. You had an actual reason because of a rivalry between two of the all time greats. Two guys. Welcome aboard Scott Man, It is eyes exciting and getting ready for this big game. A man I'll tell you what. When you look at how this one is going to play out, everybody is focusing on the quarterback's rightfully so. But when you start looking at a couple of the individual matchups in this game, there is a lot that ends up coming into play. And one of the things that everybody's been focusing on all week is the fact that the chief's dinged up on the offensive line going with backups there against a really strong past Russian. It Defense for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. That seems at least right now to be one that's playing at its peak. Is that the key matchup in your mind? Well, that is one of them. I mean, we look at the Bucks defense and we've seen what they looked like the last couple of weeks and This entire bowls or defensive coordinator has really got them dialed in of they've gotten after, and Rogers drew Brees and, you know, I think this defense is gonna be, you know, formidable when it comes to getting after Patrick Mahomes, but You know, he's such a great quarterback. He's such a guy that can get out of situations that you don't think he could get out off s. Oh, that's gonna be a challenge for this team as well. When you look at it from your perspective, especially, I mean a running back a hall of Fame running back and very rarely these days. Is anybody say, Well, the running game is going to be a really big part of this. It seems like that's becoming an antiquated idea. Can the running game for the chief's help in some way, take away some of the aggressiveness of the Tampa Bay defense? Yeah, I believe so, Scott, because you know all the focus of this game really is going to be on the chief's weapons, right? You know, you got obviously Tyree Kill Travis Kelsey. But then you have the other guys out there to me, Cole Harmon, and then you have Clyde. That was the lair who last year was an El s. You had a phenomenal national championship game, and I think a game like this is going to bode well for him, because if you're tired of those, you can't double team everybody. Somebody's got to have one on ones. And if you're the bucks, you've got to put more people in coverage. So that's gonna leave a light box for Clyde Edwards. He later not only running but the short passing game, and I think that Eric the enemy, and Anne Rie will find a way to make this young man Have an impact in a game like this on the other side. Everybody, of course, is focusing on Tom Brady. I mean, he got them here, and he is once again right in the middle of the possibility of winning a Super Bowl, 10th visited incredible, absurd. It's absurd. When you look at this team, they've got a whole bunch of weapons as well. Is there one that you focus on the offensive side of the ball for Tampa Bay? Last thing for this segment does the first meeting have any impact on what we're about to see in a few hours here or is that just research? Yeah. I think you could take some things.
