"NFL week 18 roundup on Dave fairy. The eagles have rewarded themselves for a 14 and three season. Here's Michael the wongo. The eagles Clinton Division Championship and the number one seed in the NFC playoffs with the 22 16 win over the Giants Philadelphia touchdown run by Boston Scott and 5 field goals by Jake Elliott and his first game back with my shoulder injury quarterback Jalen hurts true for 229 yards for the birds who finished a regular season at 14 and three. We worked really hard to be where we are now. We've overcome a lot. We've been through a lot as a team and as individuals. Davis Webb, right for one touchdown through for another for the Giants. The Seahawks are playoff bound as Jim Bernard reports. First, the Seahawks did their part by outlasting the Los Angeles Rams in the 1916 overtime victory, then the Detroit Lions did theirs by beating the Green Bay Packers. Gino Smith overcame two Jalen Ramsey interceptions and passed for 213 yards and a touchdown while Kenneth walker rushed for 114 yards. The dolphins have extended their season. Denny cap has details. Three Jason Sanders field goals are all the dolphins need to squeak into the playoffs and beat the jets 11 to 6. Sanders kicked the game winner from 50 yards out with 18 seconds left, and a battle of third string quarterbacks it was rookie 7th round draft pick, Skylar Thompson, who did just enough to send his team to the postseason. Seeing a win and feeling a win is important and especially going into the playoffs. Going to buffalo, which is a very good football team. We're going to be confident. Thompson completed 20 to 31 for a 152 yards and no interceptions to help the dolphins snap a 5 game skid. The Bengals beat the ravens 27 16 to avoid a coin flip for home field when the two teams meet again in the AFC playoffs next weekend. Cincinnati scored touchdowns off three first half turnovers by quarterback Anthony Brown. Joe burrow was 25 of 42 for 215 yards one touchdown and no interceptions. If he didn't win this one, I guess technically we would have won the division, but wouldn't have felt like it. So it's good to get this one. We're going to have to play better next week to get the win. Especially me. The bills played inspired ball less than a week after teammate demar Hamlin went into cardiac arrest during a game. Gene battaglia reports. On a day filled with emotion, the Buffalo Bills won the regular season finale against New England Patriots, 35 to 23. Naim Heinz buffalo returned the opening kick-off for a touchdown. It also get another kick-off return for a score. Bill's quarterback Josh Allen says, after seeing that opening play, he knew it would be their day. I can't remember a play that touched me like that. And I don't think in my life. Buffalo finished the season at 13 and three, and now they are the second seed and will host the Miami Dolphins in the wild card round. Ryan leong was at the forty-niners, went over the Cardinals. For the first time in franchise history, the forty-niners ended the season on a ten game win streak after convincing 38 to 13 win over the Cardinals. The forty-niners are locked in as the number two seat in the upcoming NFC playoffs. Brock purdy was 15 of 20 for a 178 yards and three touchdowns. We look at it as a challenge, but we're also excited because it's like, man, if we do play to our full potential, it's like, what else could we do? So those are the kind of things that we ask ourselves every day and we're excited about, but I'm excited moving forward for being on a win streak. In the final game of his career, JJ watt had two sacks and 5 total tackles, but the Cardinals lost 7 straight to finish at four and 13. The bears were 29 13 losers to the Vikings, and the Texans earned a 32 31 win over the colts. That means the bears will have the number one pick in the draft for the first time since 1947. The Houston win didn't stop the team from firing head coach levy Smith. In other games, the falcons beat the Buccaneers 30 17. The commander silenced the cowboys 26 6 that the anthers were ten 7 winners over the saints. The Broncos topped the Chargers 31 28 Pittsburgh down Cleveland 28 14, but missed the playoffs when the dolphins won. I'm Dave ferry AP sports.

"The governor's races for each party and more cape what do the numbers show so far in the governor's race? Well, before we get to some of those numbers, we get some late developments here, John King, former education secretary, running as a Democrat in the race for governor, has conceded. He said things have ended not the way they wanted, but told his supporters that the fight will go on and that he hopes that they will support the nominee. Then you have on the GOP side, Kelly Schultz, who trails Dan Cox, his 56%. She's got 40% of the votes reported so far, but she has also told reporters that this is not over not by a long shot, and that's courtesy of our partners at Maryland matters who are at those headquarters. So Lake developments there again in the governor's race on the democratic side. It's Wes Moore leading with about 38% of the vote recorded so far. Tom Perez behind him with 25% Peter Franco with just 20%, but also saying that hey folks, it's early, there are a lot of votes out there, mail in ballots that won't be counted until Thursday. In Maryland's 6th congressional district, which includes Frederick county and a portion of Montgomery county, it's one of the most competitive races in the state, and that is set. Congressman David trone has won the democratic primary, according to The Associated Press, Neil parrot has won the Republican primary, so it's going to be thrown in parrot facing each other in November. In the 5th district which includes parts of Anna rental and prince George's counties, congressman steny Hoyer won his democratic primary, Chris palumbi won the Republican primary, so they're going to face each other in November. In the first district along the eastern shore, Heather Missouri won the democratic primary, and she is going to go on to face Republican congressman Andy Harris, who is unopposed on the Republican side, live at the election desk Nick eyeing Ellie, WTO news. You stay with us here and a WTO dot com for the latest election results, primary results tonight, and we've been trying to emphasize all evening that there's a large number of mail in ballots for obvious reasons. And they're not going to even start opening those and counting those until Thursday. So a lot of the numbers you're hearing now are the same day voting and we're bringing you the latest results, but we have to wait for those right in ballots in some races to finally get the full picture. Other news tonight in a bipartisan vote, the house is overwhelmingly approved legislation to protect same sex and interracial marriage. The vote was two 67 to one 57 with 47 Republicans joining the Democrats. The Bill was proposed after the Supreme Court overturned the right to abortion access, established by roe V wade, an opinion by justice clarence Thomas left open the possibility that other rights could be similarly at risk. The legislation is expected to stall in the Senate where there aren't enough votes to overcome a Republican filibuster. We'll have more news coming up here on WTO. "With the polls having shut down more than half an hour ago. We're waiting to see the first results as we bring into our studio Kate Ryan, WTO's reporter to tell us what we can expect and what the candidates will be looking for, Kate, first of all, Annie first results to tell us about tonight. We are just starting to see some of those first results come in. But what you are getting are the local and it has to do with the statewide results are released when all the polling places in the state are closed, then once they're closed in a county, the results for the local offices may be posted until statewide results are released. The grid column that everyone is sitting there refresh button for to show them who won the governor's race, for example, will not be updated just yet. So again, you can start to get a glimmer of indicators on what's happening in your local races, but we are not anywhere near the final, even official or unofficial votes tonight yet. Yeah, I have to confess, I hit the refresh button twice just during your last sentence. That's when will we be getting the latest info Well, again, now they hope within an hour and a half or so to get you the early voting EV. And I'm looking at the chart in my head. So early voting results will be tabulated, then today's election day results get tabulated, but of course that won't tell us the story because we have nearly a half a million mail in ballots floating out there that have to be counted and can not be handled until Thursday morning. They are handled both electronically. In other words, there is machinery to count those ballots, but some of them do have to be processed by hand. This is a painstaking process, and that's part of the reason why we may not have final results till early August. What do we know about turnout today? Well, it's a reported light. And again, that's anecdotal. I don't have the stats for you right off the top of my head here. And again, we're going to be taking a look at that here in the newsroom. But pretty much a trickle across the state from anecdotal reports that we're getting. And how do they actually count the mail in balance sheet touched upon machinery versus some human being or is a group of people having to sit down and count? That's right, but until they can be counted on the 21st, they are stored. They are locked secured, and they won't be handled until that morning. That's Thursday morning at 10 a.m. and that's when the counting begins. Kate Ryan, live on WTO on the primary night and the first trickle of results coming in. Besides the race for governor, another marquee statewide race is the democratic primary for attorney general, live next to WTO's dick giuliano. To meet you, the Democrats battling for attorney general or Anthony Brown and Katie Cohen O'Malley, no results to report yet. Brown is the congressman representing parts of prince George's and Anna Rudolph counties. He's chosen to leave Capitol Hill with the hope of winning the job in Annapolis. His challenger Katie current O'Malley, former Baltimore district court judge and wife of former governor Martin O'Malley, the two candidates are no strangers, Anthony Brown served two terms as lieutenant governor under governor Martin O'Malley. Another statewide race is the primary for comptroller, the state's chief accountant, state delegates, Brooklyn, of Baltimore, is facing Bowie mayor Tim Adams in the democratic primary, reporting live dick eliano WTO news. Let's get some more on various races across Maryland as we go live to the election desk in WTO's Nick island Nellie. Dimitri U.S. senator Chris van hollen, who's running for a second term faces a democratic challenger and there are ten Republicans in a primary for that seat also. We're watching primaries for races in all 8 of Maryland's U.S. House seats a couple of them are more competitive than the others. One of those is in the fourth congressional district in prince George's county, democratic congressman Anthony Brown is leaving that seat to run for Maryland attorney general. There are 9 Democrats and three Republicans in primaries there. In the 6th congressional district in Frederick and Montgomery counties, democratic congressman David trone has three democratic challengers and 6 Republicans are in a primary in that district. Live at the election desk, Nick hind Ellie, WTO news. Stay with us here. Your election source, WTO, we were set to go to buoy and campaign headquarters for Peter Franco, one of the many Democrats running for governor in Maryland. That's on the way in minutes. New this evening in a bipartisan vote, the house is overwhelmingly approved legislation to protect same section it interracial marriage. The vote was two 67 to one 57 with 47 Republicans joining Democrats. The Bill was proposed after the Supreme Court overturned the right to abortion access, established by roe V wade, an opinion by justice clarence Thomas, left open the possibility that other rights could be similarly at risk. The legislation is expected to stall in the Senate where there aren't enough votes to overcome a Republican filibuster. The White House is still weighing its options regarding how to respond to the Supreme Court's recent abortion ruling, but it appears to be narrowing its focus, political reports, the Biden administration is considering a public health directive to guarantee nationwide access to medical abortion. The directive withdraw its authority from the public readiness and emergency preparedness act. I had to hear on WTO more coverage of what's been happening so far in the Maryland primary we're looking at light to moderate turnout statewide and we're starting to see some results or hope to see pretty soon. "Kid's gone out there and done has done what he's needed and I give him credit he's held off the charge despite all the boo birds that want JJ out there taking reps, but I don't think they'll argue with Michigan. Michigan, and you're just throwing shots out of my 5 figure JJ's handler with like had you slipped that in there. You know, that'll be the day. Anybody who wants to try and win a Heisman Trophy has us pushing propaganda. I'm more than happy to try and do that. We can share our Venmo, we can share our corporate accounts and all of that. We can push out odds and whatnot. From the Big Ten, no pain, we'll go out to the PAC 12, and another top three team finds themselves as an underdog. This weekend, that, of course, being the Oregon ducks who go into rice eccles stadium, where it's the ute. A three and a half point home favorite at FanDuel sportsbook total in the game sits at 58 and a half. We can lay out the scenarios pretty quickly. Oregon just needs a win and Oregon state lost to secure the PAC 12 north title, Oregon would miss the pack 12 title game of Oregon state one out and Oregon lost its next two games. Utah secures the PAC 12 south with a win or an Arizona state loss. And keep in mind, Oregon, obliterated Utah and Utah's quest to get to the college football playoff back in 2019. This is a huge team who has one of the more underrated home field advantages in all of the West Coast, specifically in the PAC 12. They won 7 out of the last 18 at home, the loan loss came last year in November to USC in an empty stadium. Utah's held those last 18 visitors that just 17 points per game by outscoring them by more than 18 a contest. They turn you over. They hit you in the mouth and they make you not want to be there in the cold weather. Now, this isn't the same Utah defense. We've seen in the past pain, but I'm gonna be honest, I think Oregon being very one dimensional and talented in what they do running the football. They're gonna need a little bit more out of Anthony Brown in the passing game if they're gonna go in a Salt Lake City and pull off the upset. All this organ talk is making me sick. I think this is the third straight week we've broken down a duck's game. I feel like your buddy there Jeff Schwartz is paying you off to talk all the ducks football here. What's going on? I mean, you have to rein in ducks hype that's out there. It's sweeping the nation apparently. You have 7000 Jersey combinations. You have a quarterback that can't complete the forward pass. And here we are, the number three team in the country that pretty sure when our bet the board top ten gets released later today, people are gonna go wait. Oregon's still not in the top ten? So I like Joe moorhead. Damn good offensive mind. I don't necessarily think he'll get the Washington job, but his name is at least in the mix and hopefully his health is improved enough. So when he does at least interview for that job, they look at him seriously. And then you have the best offensive line in the country. That's basically what this is. Mower head and an O line are making life easy for a below average quarterback in a subpar receiving group. Oregon's number two in the country, an offensive line yards, 57% of the ducks run have gained at least four yards. That's 6 in the country. The reason the ducks have an offense that's number one and third and fourth down success rate is they're constantly in short yardage situations. So Utah to your point has to stop the run and force Anthony Brown and Oregon into third and 5. If you can get Anthony Brown in third and 5, prior to the green zone, you're going to have some defensive success here. You have to make Anthony Brown have an impact on this on this game. Put him in relatively speaking, uncomfortable situations, right? Hell, even if you get them in third and four, from his own 40, that could be a pass down. If you look at Oregon's offense when they're in standard down situations, so basically there is a threat of run or pass, Oregon's got a 57% success rate on those downs. It's elite. You get Anthony Brown and known passing situations in Oregon's 33% successful on passing downs. Now, the question we have, I think, is Utah's defense. It was the same one that we had against Arizona state and it was could the defense of line hold up. You had another offense there with a mobile quarterback that plays with the number advantage in the box. And the answer to that question the first 30 minutes was no. Arizona state came out .44 EPA per Russia in the first quarter, .38 in the second quarter, both big, big numbers. You didn't get much defensively from Utah's front there in the first half. Now in the second half, Kyle winning hand made an adjustment went far more one high safety loaded the box with defenders, made Jaden Daniels try to win through the air. There's the key judgment was made. There's the key hit on. Mick Jayden Daniels beat you. Yes. And so that's the same philosophy here with Anthony Brown. So you look in the second half, Arizona state after that 25% success rate in the third quarter, 24% success rate in the fourth quarter. So that's about half of where you want to be as an offense. Utah's defensive line, they have been pushed around some. 67th in line yards, 89th an opportunity rate. But they're an aggressive deal. They like to shoot gaps because they do a pretty good job stuffing runs. 23% stuff right 12th best mark in the country, but we know Oregon's offensive line number one in the country and not allowing runs to be stuffed. So that'll be a nice little battle there, but the key is loading the box..

"And he just a below average thrower. The one area where he is actually somewhat decent is in that one read intermediate pass range off play action or the RPO concept that's basically his strength as a passer. That ten and 19 yard window off play action. The other thing I think as you mentioned, Joe moorhead's return and just kind of reading between the lines Todd and something we talked about last night off air. Do we think some of the tempo potentially returns for the duck's offense? And that's something we really haven't seen in the last two weeks. Yeah, I think it has to be a big part of it because when you watch Oregon in the game against Stanford, we can say we want about the end of game situation. That's neither here nor there with the personal falls and everything that gave the cardinal a chance to win. The best adjective I could use to describe watching them and I watch that game and it's entirely last Friday against Cal, they were disjointed. I mean, there was never consistency there in terms of when things were going well that they could start playing downhill. You could see the frustration on Anthony brown's face waiting for the calls to come in from the sidelines. And even Mario's a guy who has talked about a great link wants to impose his well physically, there were chances where cows defunct was reeling and it would still take them 25 to 30 seconds. It would allow Cal the substitute and it just didn't feel like that same Oregon offense when things are clicking as we've seen against Ohio State early this year. Joe Moore had a previous stops, where it's getting those snaps in. It's getting a defense on roller skates and being able to take advantage that you can hit with quick ruthlessness and everything else to try and really be able to make things go a lot more efficiently. So we didn't see that. I have to imagine just by default that they'll be better in that department if they're able to stream together a couple first down. Absolutely. And I think the other element of this game is you hate to be the guy. But if talking third downs, but if organs ground game isn't rolling early, it'll be interesting to see that match up on third down. UCLA has struggled defensively to get off the field. They are outside the top 80 and third and fourth down success rate. So something to monitor there. If organs struggling on early downs to pick up some yards, then UCLA probably is able to get off to feel a little bit more. If there are those short yarded situations and you have a quarterback like Anthony Brown that's multiple and you can't really have to defend both the run and pass in the third and medium third and short areas, that'll probably be an area where they were able to dominate UCLA and stay on the field for some long sustained drives. But ultimately, I just come back to not really knowing what organ is. I look at our power number and it certainly shows value on organ here. And then I dig into some of the numbers. And I'm just like, my gut is saying they're simply not as good as their power rating. And so that's kind of left me on the sidelines here. It makes a ton of sense when you try and figure out what the ducks are. We'll see if they can look a lot more like the team we thought was gonna have an inside track to the college football playoff or a team that's really struggled to put up crooked numbers. Each of the last couple weeks. Meanwhile, on the other side, when you look at this UCLA offense, the key to their success this season has been the ground game. 200 plus yards rushing in each of the last four games. They went for more than 300 and Tucson against Arizona, 237 last week in Seattle, both resulted in wins and covers. We've seen the Michigan transfers Zach sharpening along with Britain Brown provide a very formidable one two punch as the tandem is combined for more than a thousand yards and 6 yards per carry with 11 touchdowns so far today. Success rate as far as the ground game is concerned well above the national average, 41 runs of 12 plus yards and it obviously takes some of the pressure off of DTR who I'll make the case last week when I watch him against Washington. Look like he was comfortable and in full command of what they wanted to do. 87 yards rushing than 12 carries, 21 of 26 throwing the ball and keep in mind that all came without one of his top receivers and Kyle Phillips who was a DMP, but should be back and very much in the thick of things for Saturday's game against the ducks. And we heard chip Kelly really praised DTR. And he kind of hinted that him being close to a 100% now is what we are looking at health wise. I know that was a question mark we had towards the end of the Stanford game, but chip Kelly said, you know, DTR is feeling a little bit better right now. I think this is kind of appointment television, right? Chip Kelly against his old team. I don't think UCLA veers too far from what's made them really successful and that's the ground game you mentioned. But I would expect a gadget player to something that hasn't been seen on film yet. UCLA does have an offensive edge here on paper. And to me, this is, again, the struggle I have with organ is they have a couple outstanding players. But there's some holes. And the high end players like thibodeaux and you also have some solid coverage guys like Williams and McKinley and Wright. They kind of give Oregon a perception defensively that probably isn't close to the reality of the unit in its entirety. And that's what continues again to give me some struggles. But in totality, you're looking at a duck's defense that's a 106th in passing success rate. 65th, an EPA per pass allowed as well. And so I think DTR might have some success through the air a little bit here. I know he's not an overly dynamic passer, but I think he's improved enough. The accuracy is Ben better, his decision making has been better. When the old line is kept him clean, one 22 passer rating. When chip allows him to throw with play action, that is when DTR has been his best one 31 passer rating there. I've seen some strides made in at least some of the metrics I've only watched a handful of UCLA football games. I'm sure you've seen more. The other head scratching part of Oregon's defense for possibly having the number one pick in the draft at the end. Organs front 7 creates virtually no havoc. And they're not stout against the run either, which they need to be in a game like this. 84th in line yard 72nd stuff right 60th in success rate, rushing. And I think that's probably where this gets interesting. You have a UCLA team that just kind of lives and dies with the ground game, especially on early downs. They have the highest run rate on early downs and even though the entire world knows UCLA wants to run. They can still run. And it's because of that bruins O line, extremely physical. 6th in line yards created only 10% of UCLA's runs have been stuffed. And it allows UCLA to stay ahead of the down and distance. And so you look at some of the early down rushing metrics 7th in EPA per Russian early down's 22nd overall. Now you get mace fun and back for the duck's front 7..

"It's Anthony Brown at quarterback for Oregon. He barely cut the mustard at Boston College. He's a grad trend. He's a grad transfer. Uh, he ran in the winning touchdown against Fresno State last week. Ohio State has an awesome defensive line, probably the best in college football. Oregon needs to run the ball. This is kind of like the way I'm talking about Oregon's offense the way I talk about the Baltimore Ravens. Now they're not as They're not as uh, Imposing or intimidating as a Russian attack. But they are so limited through the air. That my opinion the only way They can win this game is if they play from ahead or they keep it within one or two possessions the entire way there's going to be no come back. They can't let Ohio State get up by double digits in the second quarter and then have to play catch up. That's not going to work. They need to be run first in this game. So So far so good. They get a stop and Oregon's moving the ball into Ohio State territory, 9 37 to go in the first quarter. My name is Andrew Philip Ponies. The Pony Express on CBS Sports Radio 855 to 1 to 4 to 27. Is the telephone number. Uh, I'll be with you until 20 clock Eastern 11 Pacific. We're going to have A reporter live from Iowa State where those two teams are meeting for the first time is ranked opponents today. I would say no one really thinks of Iowa and Iowa State as national championship for college football playoff contenders yet Because Oklahoma wins the big 12 every year. And Iowa will have to play Ohio State you would think in the Big 10 championship game. Those teams are defensive first in a sport that's really all about touchdowns and 50 point games, and it seems like everybody's playing big 12 football now where You know, it's quarterbacks that throw six touchdown passes in a game and that's you Hold the team under 30 points and you did your job. Uh, but Iowa and Iowa State, a throwback teams they hate each other. It's a underrated rivalry. It's one that 95% of America doesn't care about the other 5%. "Maybe that's kind of how you feel tom like that. You know if you get rid of andrew just like it sounds nice right like i'm gonna. What is it like. I'm going to borrow from peter to pay paul. I mean but like you're gonna like you might pay that price. The linebacker play was okay last night but part of that was because they vanish was there as a point of death. Yeah and his deborah cox rate a step up his and. I don't know that we've got an answer for that. You know. I don't want to get thanks to get too crazy you know. I would rather look see if they are thinking about. Oh come to to be a possible answer. Because i think that may be more possible than we realize after what they saw last year and how good they look last night Even steven jones may be willing to loosen up and make a move. That would make i was in are just wondering. Is there any possible thing we could gain by maybe trading. Anthony brown wouldn't work some jokes today. Tom tom knight always have jokes. At how you face disaster it. You try to crack a joke today. We're talking about price picks. Which is the hot new thing in the world of daily fantasy and to be honest. It's not hard to see why people are getting all the way into this. Here's how it works. You pick anywhere between two and five players and take the over or the under on some specific stat projections for the day. That's it it's just you against their projected numbers. Get it right and you could win up to ten times what you've put down on any entry and here's the best part prize. Pigs has a ton of statistical categories to choose from including yards receptions touchdowns fantasy points and more. You can even create a mixed sport entry where you take. Say the over on points and the under on zeke touchdowns which is pretty incredible through some anymore you can think of in create an entry in less than.

Anthony Brown Urges Another Impeachment of Trump Following Insurrection at U.S. Capitol

"President Trump a subversive And says in a statement that the president should be removed from office after today's rioting on Capitol Hill that even led to the deadly shooting of a trump supporter, representative Anthony Brown, called President Donald Trump, a rogue commander in chief, and a credible threat to national security. Brown, who serves Maryland's fourth congressional District, issued the call for impeachment. After a day in which the U. S. Capitol was breached by rioters, Brown said an after action review is needed when we could do that. Then we'll get to the business of figuring out what we need to do differently and better so that this doesn't happen again. Kate Ryan w. T.

Dallas Cowboys make handful of roster moves, activate Brown from IR

"Tyron Smith is now gone for the year it was announced on Friday two days ago Mike. McCarthy confirmed the report from NFL networks. Mike Fellow and Jane Slater Day before Mike McCarthy confirmed the tarrant Smith will undergo season ending surgery next week the cowboys are hopeful that he'll be back in two thousand and twenty one the Dallas cowboys already down there other offensive tackle in Lyle Collins Who Unlike Tyran Smith did not play a down this season. Also, it's worth mentioning that Travis Frederick. Retired shortly after Mike McCarthy took over as head coach his replacement if you want to call them that in Joe Looney. A sprained MC l. he is scheduled or slated I should say to miss the next two to three weeks just depends how that's going to go tyler beyond the cowboys fourth round rookie out of Wisconsin. Same place they got Travis. Frederick. Of course, seemingly is a much more stable option than anybody that's going to replace tarrant Smith or Lyle Collins but I bring all of this up to say that when my McCarthy. Signed his contract to be the head coach of the Dallas cowboys he did. So with likely knowledge that at the very least tired smitten, Lyle Collins would be playing for his football team and quite possibly unless you knew at the time that Travis Frederick was going to retire the Travis. Frederick. would be playing as well. So he's now down sixty percent of the offensive line he thought that he. Would have their many defensive players that are out Joe McCoy. One of the teams biggest off season signings is gone because he got hurt on the first day of practice and so this this team and where they are a month into the season is very different than the one Mike McCarthy sat down implant. That's all I'm saying it is definitely true that you have to adjust in the NFL. That's life things happen injuries happen with stuff happens that sports that's life like I said and so Mike McCarthy ultimately has to be held responsible for that because he's the head coach that's the hat that he wears, but it is worth saying and that's why I said now let's talk about some of these injuries and some of the roster moves the Dallas cowboys made ahead of this game on. Saturday day before this that you and I are talking day before game. Day the. Dallas. Cowboys made a handful of roster adjustments. It had been rumored all week long that Anthony. Browne would be returning from injured reserve and remember that injured reserve operates differently due to cove nineteen protocols and now nfl players only have to be on injured reserve for three weeks before they are eligible to return Anthony Brown. Is Eligible to return. It was speculated all week long that he would rejoin the cowboys they are in massive need of help in their secondary. So they officially Anthony Brown bag he is the first player that the Dallas cowboys have brought back off of injured reserve so far this season other candidates for this potential obviously include Sean Lee late and vanish. We'll see about cam irving things like that. But Anthony Brown I one. So the cowboys activated Anthony Brown. He is now part of the fifty three man roster, of course. So is Francis Bernard a fan favourite linebacker, undrafted free agent linebacker out of Utah many people, Francis, Bernard in the training camp portion of the year. Obviously no preseason he is. Now on the fifty three man roster, the cowboys have needed massive help in the linebacker. Department So far this season

Dallas Cowboys Offensive Line In Flux Due To Injuries

"Have lots of talk about as it relates the cowboys I just what I think of this team this year and the expectations after Jerry Jones finally made the gutting decision that led to Jason Garrett showing up the building every day with a binder underneath his arm and dutifully hoping that he would. Get a stay of execution cowboy fan celebrated not only the draft pick a CD lamb but a coach was skins. Mike McCarthy hasn't exactly translated into the season that they had hoped for, and we're expecting some of it has to do with injuries bobby and we'll get to those in a second but a lot of teams are having to deal with injuries this year. Yeah. I, mean, the team the cowboys have up here the browns they've got a lot of injuries to deal with I. Mean The seahawks had you know a lot of patchwork stuff that they were doing last Sunday against the cowboys and so injuries are an excuse they're not necessarily a good excuse though for this cowboys team I think they, they definitely are missing some guys. They probably feel a little bit like we're not gonNA know who we are for real until probably mid October when randy gets reinstated fully you get hopefully late and vander aeschbacher. Corner start getting healthy so. It may be a situation where the cowboys are kind of you know we're GONNA fight and we're GONNA get as best we can until we get healthy and that's not necessarily an excuse that they're giving. It's just this is the way it's gotta be, and we kind of make do a little bit because they are decimated in the secondary. They've had issues at linebacker they've you know had the issues along the offensive line they lost jar when they're starting tight end and So I, mean they've definitely. Had those issues the thing that they don't want. You, you can't really do anything about injuries. You just adapt as best. You can the thing they don't want his they can't have. Three drops and you know two and a half yards per touch from Zeke Elliott. They can't have Jalen Smith missing tackles consistently and still be sixty million dollar guy they can't have. Dak Prescott turning the ball over. They need to have him protecting the ball. They can't have you know some of these. Occasional Amari Cooper focus drops. You expect injuries you deal with those. What you can have is all of that and then along in the secondary, you can't have guys just making really low I q reads and busted covered just stuff that doesn't seem to be a factor of trying to learn a new defense. This just seems like flat out low I q stuff of not recognizing who's assignment is who's You know I think back to Jalen Smith's comment to a about. Throwing it out through a little bit. Maybe they need to simplify the playbook if our fans aren't familiar with that one, let's play that one real quick. People, find beams the defense could innocent the group. Absolutely. Absolutely. I. Believe. Allowing more allowing US more opportunities to Hound in on what? We're actually going to run in in our game plan. I believe it's important. That each and every player knows in and out what they have to do. With a smaller playbook, you you know gives us better opportunity to do that. And like I said this about as growing each and every week. On coaches are the same page, the players on the same page and we're just trying to do whatever it takes to get that much better. Each and everyone is that players that aren't capable of learning the playbook or is it possibly too complicated? I don't know but I, got to tell you for all the people that wanted Rod. Marinelli Outta here have been overly impressed with Mike Nolan's defense. Again, injuries are an issue, I mean you lose Gerald McCoy loosely Van Deresh. You lose your to starting Corner Anthony Brown, and Lucy, but even they were healthy in that first game. I didn't think this team look that good. No, and you know it's again it's one of those things where not even a mention he's been healthy for the season but Jordan Lewis missed all the camp. I. Sale. Yeah. Exotic Woods was a big part of your problem last Sunday against the seahawks but I think overall everybody's got to step up. You know it's funny. We had Had the funny line during training camp. When asked him do you think about opting out at all and he said, Nope, contract to your baby and there's a lot of guys back there right now in contractors Jordan Lewis Cheeto you've got exertive your woods is another one. And it's fascinating that they're seeming to have these issues not just with again, the adjustment or or or skill players opposite them it's they're just dropping the ball in terms of. Knowing really basic fundamental stuff that that should have been all ironed out already and and you can say, maybe that's a a an issue with you didn't have some of the same lead up time or some of the same work that you would normally get but everybody had those same sort of issues and and not everybody is having these same sorts of just busted coverage touchdowns. I. Think there's four already on the year that were just left wide open by somebody not knowing an assignment including three last week against the
