EV Used Car Values Are Holding Up

"So the altium battery cells Gm and lg's the nine they've given it to the platform more than just the cells or the batteries that made into recently. They've been calling it. The ltm platform and that is going to be the foundation for all of their electric cars and thanks to a youtube channel by ray non navia. We can now check the construction process of that facility. That's going up in lewistown. Ohio a joint venture between gm and lg. Like i say according to inside hof the construction work is already done. The buildings are up the reeves on on. But you can see the buildings going up and surely there is so much still to do. But within several months they are on target to have that facility finish. There is an unhealthy obsession with watching tesla build factories and the busiest aspects of germany. Right now is probably drones above some way just outside of berlin or maybe texas facility asli. They're all the gigafactory is being built. Gm's with algae is coming along very nicely baking. It'll be out of the oven soon. And they company will install manufacturing equipment later this year. Production starts in two thousand nine hundred twenty two the spending two point three billion dollars on it. It's going to create one thousand one hundred new jobs in lordstown ohio and they're gonna make about thirty gigawatt hours annually of cells which is huge. It puts them just behind. Tesla's gigafactory in nevada. Funnily enough okay. Let's move on and on the podcast next. We're going to be talking about what's fascinating story next on the show an official look into battery safety and that's not to say that batteries are unsafe in any possible way but the american. Nhtsa nitsa is creating and a battery initiative for visas to coordinate looking at things like the research the investigations and the safety standards around battery safety. And that's a good thing because you know these are incredibly safe like the comic is themselves and the battery. Maker's is an amazing job with this. I feel so safe driving around. Evt's and you just think about because we've had cars combustion costs for hundred years. You don't think i'm driving. I'm putting my family and my baby inside a car which is carrying around litas. Some gallons of very high highly combustible liquid blows up. I mean when you look at the fire department and the fire brigade stats on cough. Is they've really coleman. And so when there's an incident of course it makes the news because they're so rat but normal 'cause burned down all the time. So i feel very safe driving a navy if you're drive already but it's really good news. The nhtsa has created an initiative to look at the kind of coordinated analysis of data investigations. When there's a crash an anon- crash event and look at diagnostics and even cybersecurity as well. That's all very important. According to the website Techno codex this initiative nitsa that it will conduct investigations into safety related defects in vs and be a central point on battery safety. That's very very important. Lots of people are doing this. But i think it will give consumers more confidence.

Patriots at Dolphins: Times are changing and this stat proves it

"I thought it was crazy that the past thirteen dolphin matchups dolphin Pat's match up before this one the Patriots were the favorites. That streak is ending this week that the Dolphins are two point favorites. In fact, it's 33 the past 34 think about how crazy that is. And the only time that that wasn't a dolphin's wage favorites before before this week with in 2013. If you remember the Dolphins went 2420 with safety Michael Thomas five days after being signed off the 49ers practice squad intercept Tom Brady in the end zone to seal the win. So that's one of the things I wrote about 2 in the channels are facing a Bill Belichick defense or again. Everything and anything about the Dolphins this week and about this matchup will be on on the website all dolphins on the SI Network. I absolutely believe that and that's why I had Al-Anon because I knew he would deliver the goods and I really appreciate it now and then in terms of the Patriots not being favored in this game. It's a disappointing as a fan but it's obviously, you know justifiable as somebody in an objective Observer and did this game and it's interesting times here in New England to say the least. This is I think even maybe even worth and then some people expected it's even better than other people expected with you know, the year after Tom Brady, so it's kind of following exactly where I think it should fall, you know, when you lose a quarterback of that caliber and you kind of get the reset button on your

Thai Protests: Thousands Join Rally in Bangkok

"Several 1000 students chair speakers on a large stage, but Thomas at universities sprawling out of town campus. In the two months since Thailand ended, it's covered, 19 locked down, students have revived and expanded their anti government protests. With smaller rallies almost every day in some part of the country, their grievances are familiar and widely shared the military's involvement in politics, a constitution weighted against opposition parties. The harassment of political activists. With the economy tanking in the absence of foreign tourists. There is no shortage of anger, but this protest, though another issue moved centre Stage One ties usually avoid. The monarchy. Ah lawyer Anon Nampa, who had been the first to break the taboo a week before called for an honest public discussion of Thailand's most powerful institution. That happens in the mind. The end of the rally, a young woman stepped forward dramatically through clouds of dry eyes and read out a 10 point manifesto complaining about royal intervention in politics and demanding a complete overhaul of the monarchy, limiting its powers on its spending. Nothing like it has been heard before in public here, where the monarchy is officially held to be sacred and untouchable. Guantanamo, Japan and international relations professor at Chulalongkorn University. Has watched her students become ever more radical in their views. You know Thailand, they're not, you know, that is a very extremely sensitive issue. You may be prosecuted by the law. Between the monarchy and our only witness. So the official view that the monarchy is above politics. Young people don't believe that anymore. Don't believe anybody has the difference from the heroine's generations. The students say that access to social media has opened their eyes to the reality of Thailand's power structure. We have to try too. Start talking about it, making it a new norm for the society that it's okay to talk about the money. The previous generation got inducted by this state media and the state education for a very long time. Our generation is like the 1st 1 to really know what is going on the government comprised of conservative royalists and military men, who have pledged their whole lives to defend the monarchy. Seems unsure how to react Time Minister pray Oh channel teacher said they would investigate thoroughly looking for any group that might be instigating the students finding out what the real intentions are. They can protest, he said. But we will check whether they've broken the law. Theo end of last week 1/3 activist leader was quite literally dragged away. And arrested on sedition charges. Is a prevailing fear here, but the security forces will eventually be ordered to put down the protests didn't deter thousands more from joining the largest demonstration yet this weekend. Bangkok's symbolically important democracy monument. Thiss was a lighter, more humorous affair than Thomas sat with a more diverse crowd. References to the monarchy was turned down. Anon. Nampa was there now on bail after being arrested, So did he fear that force would inevitably be used to suppress the movement because it has so often in the past in Thailand? You don't believe they'll dare do that, he said, because if they do, they'll be killing young people 15 to 30 years old. King watcher. Alongkorn returned to Thailand briefly last week for a rare visit from Germany, where he stayed throughout the covert 19 crisis a decision some ties have compared unfavorably to their situation under lock down. In keeping with the monarchy's official status, he said nothing publicly about the protests. Everyone in Thailand is wondering how the palace and its backers in the military will respond. Gaga still running free. We just can't have that. I don't know I. Don't agree with a world without lady Gaga. I mean that theory is just so. It comes from an idea of everything right now is completely spinning out of control for people and to be able to see that. Steven Spielberg happy ending I think is why they wouldn't want Steven. Spielberg to write their story, but. It's. Very dangerous to put all of your eggs into this basket. Do you think that the trump administration is taking advantage of conspiracy theories to try to get people? Maybe it'd be like the storm can't happen until reelected so i. mean I really feel like they are definitely are aware of the Cunanan community and they aren't against. Encouraging them, or at least they aren't willing to do anything that would discourage them. because the problem is at the end of the day. To enough followers, they are basically this highly passionate digital street team for the trump administration, and if you are someone like you know, the White House Social Media Manager Dansk Gavino. This is something that you would consider to be a plus if you want to keep your jaw into the into the next year, and so at Dansk, Gavino actually has posted a couple of things. That's the sort of like that looked like a wink to Cunard community. Welcome was a meam that that showed it was photoshop picture of trump playing the violin as my next. My next piece is called. Nothing can stop with his coming, and this is a common phrase. Q. Says Nothing can stop was coming. Followers immediately recognized as as an that came from the community. The one was Dansk view posted a gift. That's TIKTOK. It was orally. TIKTOK said this again over and over again in a circle, and this is something that also accused says the ideas like well. The clock is running out on the ball and only a matter of time before they're all gonna come down, so and also trump himself has tweeted or re tweeted Cunanan on accounts I think over one hundred Sixty Times is oh my God. So. He even said store. He's even like in his speeches, said something about the storm, hasn't he? Like baited them a little bit. At one time, basically, the the whole idea of the storm comes from a time in the early October two thousand seventeen before you when he was doing a photo op with a bunch of Personnel in the White House. The press there and I wasn't the trump trump and said you know what this represents. entrusted what was represent. Is it maybe represents the calm before the storm and the the press said was store Mr that you talk about, he said. You'll see and it was very weird. It was very cryptic now my interpretation of that that particular that was that he was sitting there with the press, having his Co. taken with these military personnel, and he was very resentful of them. He thought he'd fuck with them a little bit this. Theory as seems more reasonable seems very A. trollers kind of nature, but Kulen followers believe that he was actually alluding to a mass arrests event that was carried out by the kind of military personnel that he was surrounded with at the time. So this is where the idea of the storm came from from this. We're offhand comment that trump made one time, and that is the Internet culture in a sense. Is People pick up things that? They attach themselves to. And then they become viral intricate pieces of whatever Internet philosophy they have. I did see something. I don't know if this was true or if it was Tim Erica Tim from Tim and Eric tweeted that the K. W. Miller for Congress twitter account was not real. Yucky W Miller. Miller's one of the Cunard. Congressional candidates use a independent running in Florida and he is yeah. He's quite a character. He's he's. He's A. He has a very allows for Brash Persona. EAT does Cuban on sort of a hashtags. and. Tim, Tim, heidegger. He He actually wound up interviewing K. W, and of this really kind of funny combative interview. On his show. Really Yeah. That thing is that event in order in order to basically troll k.? Tim heidegger while up, saying that this isn't real. This character I mate. He did that specifically to irritate K. W. Miller which was pretty funny. That's how that went down. It's just a metaphor for the Times that we're living in now. The the Post Truth Era I think is what you guys. Call it in your description for your show. We don't really know what's up and down left and right anymore. Do you think that living during these times Israeli making more people susceptible to falling into the queue rabbit hole, absolutely I mean there's actually a ton of evidence that one of the major accelerates for Q. on to. To get more people button to buy into it with was the pandemic as a consequence of the pandemic You know this is what extremely scary destabilize event,.

"Yeah, LAW ENFORCEMENT SCRUTINY I! Imagine seems like a bad plan to have have. Have basically this This child trafficking selling scheme on open the van, so allen the open. That can access. will allow you to allow someone to accidentally purchase a that seems like something. You would not want to happen if you're genuinely doing it, but. The expiration from wayfair is that some of these these cabinets they are, they are. They're designed for home use. They are extremely heavy, extremely rigid, extremely protective dusty cabinets VAT designed to withstand a lot more than perhaps home candidates. You would have a lot more affordable as seems like reasonable explanation to me, but saw a lot of people especially on. Twitter and facebook and Tiktok were were instead believe that this was evidence of some sort of child trafficking ring and I was. Yeah, I've been spending a little bit of time today. Archiving these tiktok videos because tick occasionally deletes. Conspiracy theory videos. They did it before when Pizza Gate for example got got popular on Tiktok just a few weeks ago, so I will make to preserve that his ever in the future. And Pizza is I mean it's never gone away, but the idea that happening in the basement of a pizza place has been debunked, but pizza gate has kind of that. Hashtag has been a a name for something else. That is going on in society. pedophilia and the Pedal Gate I dunno I think using the term pizza gate is making it less credible because it's already been debunked is. Agree I. Mean this is made this one of my biggest problems with with the Cunard community is that they like whenever I pressed them on some of the claims that they make. They aren't factual like y'all do the evidence that the Comet Ping Pong Washington DC was ever involved in the sex trafficking ring, and sometimes it leads to dangerous situations case where South Carolina man actually traveled to Comic Ping Pong an attempt to rescue the children while the firing inside restaurant. Unfortunately, it's hurt, but someone might up because it's range, conspiracy theory, and like I said it distracts from like a the real genuine real life problems of you know of human trafficking which. Ought to be addressed. I feel like all of things like pizza and pedophile conspiracies. They tap into people's emotions, absolutely one hundred percent, and that's why people react so strongly to it, so my question is since people are adopting all of these philosophies. More people than there normally are exposed to it. Do you feel like it's dangerous for our country is? Are we reaching like an apocalyptic situation with all of these cues running for Congress? yeah, yeah, I think it's I think it's really. A one level is really. I mean in the sense that. I think that were really necessary for democracy. Is this idea of consensus? Reality is like even if you can't agree on sort of vague, perhaps the solutions. You have to like have this commute. Idea of was real and what the actual problems are, and of some people think that you know a serious problem is is is a particular up a pizza joint Washington DC, as as a human trafficking hub, and like other people see that believe that there's there's nothing to that. There's no there's no reality to us in this and doesn't represent an actual problem that deserves addressing like. How can you have common ground there as so I think it's you very dangerous, and that says social dangerous in the sense that you know. People who believe in Q. and all the fuel ballet you? They sometimes take very dangerous actions There's a recent. Case of a man named Alpa Sleiman. Who got fell down the? Rabbit hole and wound up leading police on the hundred mile, an hour arches with his five children, the car, and then live streaming himself on facebook, breathing with Cunanan and and trump to to save him. Now, this is this is this. This is ludicrous, so yeah, I think there is there is a danger, but at the same time I think that we we should also keep some perspective because it, throughout American, history they've always been times when when conspiracy theorist may they've gained a little bit more power than they usually as normally the sort of the sort of conspiratorial element of politics, really deeply conspiratorial element. Element sort of in the gutter political discourse, but once the while they they rise up and you really well. When when historical example is that? In the early nineteenth century, there was a party called the Anti Masonic Party and this was dedicated proposition that the freemasons running a shadow government that was controlling America in eighteen, thirty, two, this particular Anthony, solid part control ten percent of the House of Representatives. And was the first third party in history, so we are quite to that point where followers control ten percent of the house. This is you know something. There's other times there's the the know nothing party. The John Birch Society in the fifties, sixties, seventies of so this is something that comes in ebbs and flows, and we just might be a time right now. Where conspiratorial thinking is surging as popular union gaining some power. Now there's GonNa be a permanent save affairs, but I also feel like it a lot of people when they find things on the. Internet something that everyone needs to get into. A habit of is really double checking what you're finding. I A lot of people re tweet videos that are just audio, no video or videos that are extremely a muffled, and they see it as fact today. Re tweet threads from someone's random twitter as like a case of evidence, and I think we are still in the baby stages of the Internet, and maybe if we get to a place where we're more inclined to be informed into really research, the things that we're finding. Maybe we won't be as susceptible to a queue in on. I mean I would love I would love. Yeah, people were like. Yeah, we're like a little bit more. Discerning and the information that they get a little bit more skeptical, but it's not how people behave. People believe what they wanted to believe. I mean the Internet has it could enable someone to quickly research too quickly fact, check. Instead is sort of. Is Sort of a high-powered confirmation biased where they can serve speak-out in only recognize the information that validates them in just the filter out. Ignore all the information that's disconcerting to their beliefs and so. Yeah, I mean yeah, the Internet is very powerful, but is only effective depending on how you use it. Yeah, that's and that's what the Internet does best is. It puts US Center Echo Chambers, and just gives us what we want, which is dangerous, itself so the other reason why I wanted to talk about Hewitt on especially on this show is. One of the theories that they have is that they think that they are going to be as digital soldiers ushering in a new era. Lifting the veil on all of this, and it's called the the great storm. Would you tell us what the great storm supposed to be? Yes? Our the perfect time to do it. If you guys are listening to us like we're waiting. Yeah, right I. Mean Anytime I would love it if it happened. At least it would be a relief. I would be I'd be happily showed to be wrong, but. They say legally. It's like it's like if this would have. Oh, Shit, I guess. I was wrong CAJAL. Yeah, it's like it's like it's like the thing is I. It's like a lot of people accuse like for example like Tom. Hanks a being A. Child abuser with no evidence whatsoever. No I've I've watched a few few of movies by any particular attachment. Tomei, if you have any concrete evidence, you've done something nefarious our in love to see it so I know I just haven't seen anything, but Yeah, the yeah. The storm is basically this event that they believe that is a mass arrest of they accua followers believe that one day soon basically hop over a hundred thousand people from the highest levels of entertainment and politics in media will all get arrested swept up in the grand rate that will expose just how evil bail all are basically the like people like Your Lady Gaga then Congressman Adam Schiff and cal common after my Lady Gaga. Jake tap. It probably has done something terrible. CNN The ideas like people in these sorts of high powered influential positions won't get arrested and they're all either..

"Chris's existence even. If he gets to meet New People in every city might be a little lonely. That is a price. He is willing to pay to put a little more adventure into the world. But we have one more story for you that is made to strangers using red at gift oft into life partners. Say My name is Liza on Reddit. I'm Marie Andrew and I'm currently living in Dubai. My name is Josh on ready. I am signatures and I'm also currently living in Dubai. Do you want us to tell you the story. Yeah please tell us the story where we start from the beginning. Yes so Leases from Belgium. Josh is from the UK and a few years back. The each signed up for rettig addict gifts Leeza was assigned Josh so she sent him some presence. Some books about roleplaying games are RPG's because they both liked some of the same games on Christmas Day of two thousand fifteen. Josh in Leeza began trading messages. They were using the chat software for red. It's gift exchange which is meant for anonymous messages ages between users. Who Want to figure out what to send each other and get pumped up about the gift for Josh and Liza a quick back and forth turned into a deluge we sort out of tested the limits of that messaging software to the point where I think it basically was like almost unreadable? It's sort of create such a long chain of messages and we wheel twombly swap numbers and sort of it went on from there. And you know that that anxiety when when you're in love or when you are talking to someone really Nice Ace. That was a kind of anxiety I was feeling from the first second. I messaged well basically the second message I got from Josh. Same for me. It was. It was quite strange because his oversee like this was like not context. You'd expect to me anyone and we were talking about being together for like forever. Basically like within within unliked within like a few days of seeing other lying I carman but like very specific it was super. Both of us had this just just really weird magnet lie attraction to each other like just from just talking. We won't even like we didn't know anything about each other but we just sort of had this stranger attraction one of the crazy things here. Is that these new lovebirds. Were sticking to read it rolls because anonymity is at the center of how the Gift Exchange works so so for the first two and a half weeks or three weeks of US actually talking and really in the period fell for each other I heard Lisa's voice by never saw her or or a new name hatch will name. There was a lot of talk about with my friends at the time about how she could be could be just being catfish basically like she could be any block. I just saw have faith in the fact that she was being genuine. There was sort of a point where things sort of go a little bit. Strange and Lisa said ow. I see you as such a good friend. Basically the kind of thing yeah friend off but she kind of sense that this there was more to this and sort of after talking about it but more like and it turned out that she was sort of. I was trying to hide my feelings. So so when did you two meet. How quickly did this escalate? We call each other on New Year's Eve and basically I can't remember who exactly exactly proposed it. Basically I apologize walls. These she said we should meet on Valentine's Day in Paris and that that became anymore. Plan okay so that was. The drunk plan meet in Paris on Valentine's Day. The sober plan was there is no way they were gonNA wait that long for big romantic gesture so they decided to meet even sooner in Antwerp were. Liza lived big moves. What was that like seeing each other for the first time time well lease on the day I write had to work basically so I had to get her apartment and she left the key for me in like a bag in the mailbox so I saw oh had to reach into the mailbox key out and I went into apartment and office? Kind of blown away. She'd stunk like one hundred. Fifty post is along the wall saying lots of Nice things basically about how she was really looking forward to seeing me about how she louis how she loved me and she left in like Belgian food for me and I literally had to sit then for like four hours just waiting eighteen and it was It's the longest in my life and eventually when to pick her up from she off the tram from work and I saw locked and we we just saw the like smiling. I'm you saw just bumping into each other as we walked as we went back to the surreal surreal. I actually got off a stop earlier because I just couldn't grasp at the anticipation and I was literally. Ah I was crying. I was so nervous. What if he did like me? What have you wanted to go back to the UK? Ah Everything was fine. Everything was amazing. From the moment I I saw Josh. I just everything was alright..

"No but I think we it's so fun. 'cause we like we laughed so much. Which o'malley sound like my mom we play Pinochle so many laughs always always says when she sees one of her friends we have so many left yeah rice become your from Orange County right. Where are you conventions. I'm originally I was born in Gardena possess raised in Chicago. Oh God then I started comedy in Portland Oregon. And how have you been in. La then back here for seven years why Chicago to Portland Mall Chicago's just where my mom was living and then I ended up moving with my dad. He worked construction in Oregon had construction boom so sorry I ended up their house Portland Life. What was it like. What was the VIBE? When I lived there. It was I I mean just doing comedy for fun and just no one really kind of thought. They were gonNA become anything or do anything so it was really fun in that regard but the like I look back and I was like Oh. It wasn't healthy at all. It doesn't seem like a Lotta like bicycles with giant front wheels and white supremacists I'm glad okay. Tell me more is just I mean. It's a cool place. It's yeah I mean there yeah. There's some of that in Oregon for sure but Portland itself is Pretty Level Pretty Fun Place Pretty Smart Place. It was a great place to start comedy because it was a lot of people aw who were very intelligent who didn't watch a Lotta. TV and you can come up with really weird as jokes and it was a really cool place to kind of like come. What would your own voice because at the time there wasn't really any like prototype on how to become successful comedy and anything you were like I'm going. He's GonNa end up in Montana. Doing triple runs hate in life. That was the goal the goal triple round Hayden live in here. You are loving. I do love it very happy. It's like when you're coming up. A lot of people like with people above them. They got you only get those like meet. People like that like I feel like in smaller towns. I never really I thought I was going to have a mentor. You know I was like teams like dudes. Get the mentors is rare. Also where like I feel funny around on Ron. You know like I feel. I feel like that's rare to especially when you're working for someone like I don't know you're probably more scared scared but I feel like funny and loose. I just feel supported obviously has given me so many opportunities in many feel like believed even believed in Nice. This is good for me okay. We're GONNA come back from a quick break and talk about why Ronda we were accidentally trying to switch off Naomi from couples therapy here talking to you about getting a flu shot. If you're a parent you know what happens when your child gets sick the coughs without covering their mouths the sneezes right into everybody else's faces aces and they seem to touch everything possible. No wonder the flu loves children. They're the perfect spreader germs and it turns out that when one person and gets the flu in the house there's up to a sixty percent chance that someone else in their house may also catch the flu so we are going to have to get this handled. This flu season be a flu flew fighter with a flu shot from walgreens. Just stop in to your local walgreens. No appointment is necessary at all and the flu shot will be free to you with most insurance so go get. This season's flew under control back way right. This is a new piece of information for you thought we were trying to that this show. We were trying to put you romantically. We're like the tender podcast. I'm in your name is misleading. I would say couple could mean anything yeah but Rhonda's like a couple of donuts donuts what's going on here. Why are they COUPLA say they're not all sorts of just what went through your mind rod the US down gently it. Why don't you say there's someone who is is in it. I just didn't know what it was about window. Blair told me it was about friendship and I like it. I just didn't want to I mean I. I think it's fun. It's one of the cool where things in sweet things about it that there is like it's a pure platonic friendship like it just friendship of someone who is. L- see their comedy and I see their work ethic and I see a lot of myself and what she does is. She's a sweet little. Weirdo refund voice that either you get or you don't fucking fall in love with it yeah. I got US support that because I need I needed to hell. Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah. I definitely oh because generally like what I see on. Stage is not what I thought I would see before. I knew you right before I taste of course yeah this alabaster skinned blond hair from the and then I feel like you said you were like before I knew you. You were writer and stuff like you played sports. You Know Surf Yes yes. I would never have surfer. They never know you were both incredibly funny and had a masters degree ramming this bitch containing multitude world. Does that happen you. Do people come through with misjudgment allot you you know when I was first started. I felt very extremely painfully. Aware of like what I wa. I was when I wore like triple X. L. flannels that everyone made fun of me for my first three years of comedy I was like why do you wear trash bags on stage you opening for Nirvana. You know I just like really was like Oh. Everyone is GonNa see me a certain way and that was really in the front of my mind. I don't think it changed the way anything I did like like how I am. Now is like just what came out right away I think because my leg shook onstage for a long tunnel is so scared that I became him aggressive as a way to compensate and so now I still have that I like it. It feels good on stage should be like that probably because I'm like can be pretty like passive in real life and then I just kind of stop thinking about it at all like I like who gives a fuck what they think. They're going to get what they're going to get like now. Sometimes sometimes I also feel like to just like jam things down. People's throats people's buds your wait. Your skewering people like roasting on a spit now not at all just like some wild shoot onstage It'll be like a a something I would think. I'm crazy that I'm trying to make them get on board with example do your entire act. I don't even know what I'm referring to the already. I get their heads chopped off yeah like when I watch Ron do comedy. It's just like it does he does. He's like dislike easy. In the crowd is like anything you it. You guys you said both for each of you kindnesses important why like what I I know we work in a town. That's sociopaths. It seems that regardless regardless of your moral ethical stance in this town. It doesn't matter what matters is the perception that you are successful. You could be a murderer but he had a hit show. NBC Follow you on twitter. Eh so seemingly not an advantage yet import it into both of you. Why why oh well especially you can just see it. Unraveling even more like like comedy is rapidly becoming a two party system. I'm psychotic. It's getting crazier and crazier but I guess it's just like AAC. Are we as Comedians. Forget that like we're also living a life and like I want to be cognizant of that everyday like I want us around with myself with people who are like. Oh this. I'm GonNa get so made fun of for this but we're not like I just WanNa be around people that are leaving me feeling positive positive impact on the world in like making me feel happy like I don't have time to be. I don't when I talked shit which I do. I always feel bad about it like I don't feel good about myself. When I do it. I can honestly say like we just have fun together. WHO LIKE MICA vintage way Ole time phone. We throwing web creates. It's just like Nice. I don't know Oh like I wanna I want like. Oh and we talked about this a lot to like. We both I like silly comedy. like so so much is so fucking serious. Mike so much comedy is so serious and just like. I just like I wanna be nice. I WanNa have fun our silly. That's what I want out of life and so it's just like it's nice to have like friends and like comedy like lineup to piggyback off of that is just like a lot of sometimes people will look at negative things in the world and things like the best way to do that the constantly attacking that and constantly being like look what he's doing. He's a juror lied. See what could you see what's going on in the White House all the time to me. That's like that's not being positive. That's just constantly pointing out negative and I would. I like about Blair and what I like about. Gabe people around me is usually rather like it's. It's not like we're ignoring. What's going on in the world. We're just be like well. This is what we can do to combat that is we can be positive we can showcase the type of world that we want to build in. That's what I always see in in someone like Blair and that's what I like bigger than comedy. Is that same thing I don't have time. I have a son and they have busy. I don't have time to be around people with a bunch of drama negatively. I need positivity. I don't I'm trying to do a lot of things and I get scared us. Only we need people around me who are like you can do. I don't need someone that says I can't do it because I will believe that person so I need people who believe in me and I and I believe in them and I always was just better be around. Positive people in kindness is just type of comedy that I love that grew up on even even to this day like I saw Carol Burnett at in San Francisco June just a Q. and A. and just her in Conan is is like a Lotta people at in the day when they talk about comedy talk about at the end of the day being kind in in in how that is more powerful and that's what I love and that type of comedy that I think is deeper than more of this lake sarcastic or just cutting or than like there's a there is a comedy and kindness. China's that goes untapped that is beautiful and deeply moving and that's what I want to try to work towards. Hello own it. That was a super bowl Sunday. It was a superstar like you know and there are people like that. Do you know those conversations need to be had a lake. AAC and I respect all those people doing it and I'm like. I don't know that's not what I can. `fess not what is innate in me you know also for me. I love like escapist stuff like I. I like that like the books I read fantasy so like it comedy. I like like really silly like whimsical shit. That makes me feel like I'm forgetting about like atrocity for bit yeah. That's what I like yeah. Yeah I'm with you. I don't need I mean Twitter is a nightmare at the moment. Oh my God it's getting every day I sit there and I just rights silly shit which would have gotten me my own. TV show show about ten years ago. Oh yeah that's what would have happened no seriously now. If you were ten years ago they'd be gold gold. Could you imagine when executives which is handing out shows movies. I could have been running a studio so I could have been. I have chosen what to do with spider man Man. That's how people I say about lunch. Shell like ten years ago development. Thanks for telling looking to the sky. I smoke alone cigarettes twitter ten years ago. Carson would have invited me over to the couch and the next day I would have had a guest star role on the drew Carey show. Oh God that's what we all wish. We all wish just a guest going just a walk. I'm sorry that you lost shoes Saturday night. The.

When I was twenty twenty five and I was a writer you know in Orange County. They don't have like comedy culture. I've seen the yeah and and so then I got into it and I started writing about it because I was like I wanted to be a novelist at the time it was like a a writer I never wanted to my mind. Signed hadn't told me that I wanted to be a comedian at that time but I started interviewing comics and then I met Ron when he had his half hour. Oh and I wrote an article for Woodside or about whom we became friends yeah and I met her and we talked about comedy and I was like Yes. She definitely really wants to do kind. Nobody who who wants to interview me talk to me about comedy as much who doesn't Wanna I also do. We really getting the nitty gritty like what's a punchline on my God the when I look back and think about the questions I ask ask but still like I didn't know yet that I wanted to do it but the questions I was asking late looking back. Do Yeah like just everything about starting Megan. How would you would type of jokes do ooh but then we also mutual friends and then just yeah and I followed him. We stayed friends and stuff jeff there something beyond comedy that can I is there some other area that your friendship coalesce around like like the rings of Saturn. Yeah not wrestling music video games housewives of orange things that I feel like are the bedrock of our a friendship. We both like silly things like like a lot of people exhilarating from things self-improvement improvement food yeah what else I would say the thing that kind of draws us together overall like we're both smart people who loved them Hsieh That's a friendship log line right there. Yeah I love Dumb Shit Yeah. It was both pants. Mommy both kindness is a big part of our friendship is that we both liked being kind people but overall. It's just like a both people people who are intelligent and enjoy being nice but also just enjoy a nice waterslide driven river day. If you guys take in a Lazy River the one time we were in Wisconsin this summer and then Ron was like we're going to the water park tomorrow and I probably hadn't been injured water parks in solid like fourteen or fifteen but I was really excited. I wasn't prepared to go. We had like the best day in the world. Well there was like full reliving your childhood and that's a good thing we liked childhood some things. I care to forget but the good thing because the fun part is reshaping was redoing money for Jesus Fried achieve girds the first time it was really fun we went in the Lazy River we run and Gabe and they got off after two laps and I stayed paid for the rest of the day over can use wet t-shirt and shorts. I want t shirt and shorts on top of my bathing suit but only because because I didn't know how to survive the sun in the day for the whole day. I was like all die someone who doesn't want to take their clothes off to enjoy enjoy a lazy river could wear pants and sweat shirt and the water right. I think you got chunks underneath Do you guys do a lot of activities then when you're on the road together I feel like I always think about comics when they go. Hey friends. Let's let's do some shows together. It's more we're like lecturing all night and then sleep till four but it sounds like y'all are out in the streets experiencing these cities and towns. Are you thinking of comedy in one thousand nine hundred eight. When I was talking to the dice. He told me this is what we do. Hey Black Lady and I go you dicey. Tell me about Gaga the same with me when I saw him there. Als Wow what's happening. Oh no we like. Don't don't do that at all sleep. After yeah we usually are typical days of the shows we get in workout usually bless you and then we'll go get lunch which is usually the US trying to find some type of Asian fusion. We all love Asian fusion like that's our agreed upon like love it yeah because usually actually kinda healthy both be bowl a little chicken bowl or something as Asian Vision Fukushima in the Japanese nuclear power plant that overloaded issues missing using our meal. Yeah Vision or let me just do shows smoke some pot what jim boom usually they're the Adam Sandler movie water boys coming through but it's so funny. I mean like this. I assigned been on tour but it sounds like I've worn else's experiences a bit different that ours like when there will be like comics in town in like. Let's go glow party or something and we're like no chance in how to sleep. GotTa go to bed. I don't like to Party when I know that I can go home. Let alone know that I have to do a show and travel somewhere or if there's there's a hotel bed. If I know a hotel bed is waiting for me. Why would I leave. Why would I think the exit the hotel bid yeah. We got our waters. We got our candy.

"Just saw of faith in the fact that she was being genuine that was sort of a point where things sort of go a little bit strange and Lisa said, oh, I see you a such a good friend, basically kind of thing. Yeah. That's. But she condescends that this was more to this and sort of off to talk about it more like. It turned out that she was sort of. I was trying to hide my feelings. So so when did you to meet how quickly did this escalate we cooled each other on New Year's Eve and basically come in? But who exactly proposed it, basically? Yeah. She said, we should me on Valentine's Day in Paris. And that that became a plan. Okay. So that was the drunk plan meet in Paris on Valentine's Day, this sober plan. Was there is no way they were gonna wait that long for big romantic gesture, so they decided to meet even sooner in Antwerp where LIZA lived big moves. What was that? Like seeing each other for the first time. Well lease on the day. I write had to work, basically. So I had to get to her opponent. And she left the key for me in Lunka bag in the mailbox. So I had to reach into the mailbox get a key out. And I went into apartment, and I was kind of blown away sheet stunk like a hundred and fifty posters on the wall. Saying -verting things basically about how she was really looking forward to seeing me about how you know. She. You know, how she loves me. And she left some like Belgian food full me, and I literally had to sit then for like four hours just waiting, and it was the longest in my life. Eventually I went to pick her up from west Gulf the tram from what? Our sold long. And we we just like smiling. You're just bumping into each other. As we will today. Surreal it will surreal. I actually got off a stuff because I just couldn't grasp anticipation, and I literally I was crying. I was so novice. What if he did like, me, whatever he what have? We just wanted to go back to the UK. Everything was fine. Everything was amazing from the moment. I saw Jewish. I just need everything. All right. So they did the long distance thing every three weeks. One would go see the other for a while. Then they moved into gather had to we sort of secretly kind of said to each other. Look this is going to go the distance. But we didn't do anything ready formal until the following February lease a new I think one hundred percent that it was coming by proposed imperatives about entire stay following peppery. Honestly, I never thought I would be married. I thought I would be kind of woman that lives on a farm with twenty golden retrievers and just hates the world. I personally still think you can have all the golden retrievers. Find this to visions. Very true. Turt- on stand in a way. Endless threat is a production of WVU are

"Chris's existence. Even if he gets to meet new people in every city might be a little lonely that is a price. He is willing to pay to put a little more adventure into the world. But we have one more story for you that is made to strangers using red at gifts into life partners. So my name is LIZA on right? It's I'm IRRI Andrel, and I'm cured -ly living in Dubai. My name is Jewish on Red Eye on finishes and I'm also currently living in Dubai. Do. You want us to tell you the story. Yeah. Please. Tell us the story where you start from the beginning. Yes. So leases from Belgium. Josh is from the UK. And if you years back the each signed up for Rettig gifts leeza was assigned to Josh. So she sent him some presence some books about roleplaying games are because they both like some of the same games on Christmas day of twenty fifteen Josh and LIZA began trading messages. They were using the chat software for red. It's gift exchange, which is meant for non messages between users who want to figure out what to send each other and get pumped up about the gift for Josh a quick back and forth turned into a Daleus. We sort of tested the limits of that messaging. So to the point thinking, basically was like almost unreadable it sort of crate such a long chain of messages, and we ultimately swapped numbers, and sort of it went on from that and United that incites. When when you're in love or when you are. Talking to someone really nice. That was kind of the I was feeling from the first second. I message. Well, basically the second message from Josh same for me. It was it was quite strange because oversee this was like not the context you'd expect to me anyone and we were talking about being together for like Fateh, basically within. Third day or within a few days of seeing the lying karma. But like, very specific matters. Superfan. Both of us had this just really with magnet attraction to each other. Like just from just talking I'll be one even like, we didn't really know anything about each other. But we just sort of had this stranger attraction. One of the crazy things here is that these new lovebirds were sticking to the red it rules because anonymity is at the center of how the gift exchange works. So for the first two and a half weeks or three weeks of us at toll king and really in the period. What we ready fell for each other? I heard Lee's voiced by Nevoso or new name hatch will name toke about with my friends the time about how she could be. It could be just being catfish basically Laci could be anyone..

"Now, Chris is affecting homeless, but he's constantly traveling around the country to set up adventures, he's doing wedding proposals corporate events other kinds of parties. He's been a Costa Rica Miami soon, he's headed to Milan for a marriage proposal right now he's booked through June of twenty nineteen even has a big spreadsheet of other redder in different cities who have offered to help him with his adventures. He says he always pays them for their time. Even if it means less profit charges a flat rate right now, he says he's just trying to grow his business. I never traveled before this. And now I'm in a new city every week, and that's kind of cool. And it's something that will, you know, be able to treasurer no matter what happens with this. What does it mean to you to send someone on a treasure hunt? And what do you hope that they kind of take away from the experience the world's gotten safer since the seventies. Statistically, but the information spread is so frequent. That you hear about every shooting you here about every bombing here. But every horrible thing that happened this world, and you kind of have this immediate reaction where if someone's going to approach you're like, I don't wanna talk to you like headphones on like, I don't want this. And so this business was kind of trying to swing network in the other direction where people embrace spontaneity and fun and intrigue, and if I can be a piece of that that spectacular and if I can be kinda vehicle for that. It'd be great, and then a great Reddit thread, a long time ago that said, you know, at one point in time, we all went outside to play with our friends, but the last time and we never noticed. And this is the way to go outside and play with your friends again..

"The reason Chris saying this was a unique opportunity is that out of a handful of times he's participated in this global gift exchange. This one time he got someone who lived close to him in Arizona, which meant that Chris could actually give his secret Santa and his secrets Hannah's girlfriend a real life at venture. I just kind of started talking to him to feel out if he would be up for something like this. I didn't outwardly say you're going on a treasure hunt. Adventure thing it really was just like, okay. Need you to give me a day and the next weekend Saturday or Sunday, we're both of you are completely veiled? And he said, okay. I can try to swing it. And I talk him kind of off the ledge one time where you said, you know, how do I know I'm not going to get murdered in the desert his girlfriend thought, I was Ellen sorry to disappoint. Let's talk about the inspiration. So national treasure is a bad movie that you really think is a great. The best movie ever. It is the perfect family movie because there is action intrigue. You'll learn American history humor. There's zero violence that there's never a moment. It's literally the perfect family move is threat of violence. But no violence. That's true. Chris I constructed adventure. Had a national treasure vibe to it. It started with a stranger knocking on the couple's door and giving them a mysterious briefcase filled with clues and information and it ended with Chris handing them their gift. And it ended at this cool little underground Speakeasy bar where I sat next to him. And slid them this bottle of champagne in a box that was wrapped as their final gift and said, congratulations. You did it. Here's your gift. Not surprisingly this whole adventure blew up on read, it it got posted on our picks the photo community where it really took off Chris and friend had built a rudimentary website, which was immediately inundated with requests. It's all of a sudden these two guys had a budding business like what part of your personality lead you to doing this people wake up and go to work, and although there might be some deviations, they know exactly what's going to happen. They're going to go to work nine to five Monday through Friday on the weekends. They're going to relax and binge watch. Netflix and then two weeks out of the year. They're going to go on some vacation if they're lucky, and that's exactly what's going to happen. And they know and it gets kind of depressing. And so my goal was host to kind of create that like I'm going to go into the office. And I don't know baby. There's something weird that happened. Right. And that's something that the world kind of needs at first, it was just a side hustle. But eventually Chris had a moment where things came to a head. He was working for this tech company doing his own grind in California one day after a horrible day at work. He went surfing to clear his head and the water was choppy. There was too many people I tried to catch away. A biff it my leash. Which is what connects your board your ankle snapped. And my board just tumbled in and I had to swim back in shore. And so I'm sitting on the beach. I can't even surf and that was kind of that Rahm com moment where like the guys fiancee's leaves him, and he's sitting in the rain and then like a car splashes him. Whereas okay, this something needs to change. He had to get out and lean into this new thing that he cared much more about so he called this buddy who had become his side hustle business partner. So he said I'm going to give you my half of this business because he had his own business doing great. He's still doing great someday. He's going to get the greatest fucking adventure of his life. I can tell you that. Because I still like any emotional about ice. Oh him big time. So had money saved. Talk to my mom who basically said, we're ski scenario. Come back home, talk to my brother, and it was like worst-case scenario. Come crash my sofa..

"So let's start with one to seven so line one. Yep. We're to okay in the seventh letter in that word to the eventually we spell out. You are holding one. We are holding a book. So we enter book on the letter lock. And are you ready for me to open this? Yeah, I'm just so relieved we haven't screwed up on the first. Do we got one? What are these things even called think it's a crypt tax? It is called the crypt tax. We also got a map. And of course, another Cleal. My location is inside this crypt ex you'll get the password. Eventually, but I you need a key. Find the statue at market square. You'll find your next instructions next stop market square, which according to the map was just a few blocks away home to Alexandria's city hall, a lovely fountain and statue, this statue is a little bit raised off the ground. And it's. It's a man in a very dancey posed as you might say oh. He's kind of envelope. Stuck to his booty this clue sent us to Gad's piece tavern where there was another envelope. Tucked in between two pieces of stone outside in that envelope, yet another clue which sent us to a gazebo behind a historic home threat. To get the key. One two three. Look at this key keep this is a substantial key is not a joke. This is the key to Alexandria. Map. We got to go to the torpedo factory. So we have to keep walking this way down the hill. All right. There's some art on the walls. Walking through. Repeat that is most deaf a silver torpedo the torpedo gave us a clue that scentists towards the docks. Oh dot gate. Sure. You're the dock master. He he's on vacation. But you go down there. And the treasurer it's out there on the dock. Oh, you know about the treasurer. Wait. Yeah. With no, I I don't I don't. I got to. Thank you my dog. Prefers to remain anonymous. Thank you. All right. Very mysterious steriods. I have to take care of my dog. Oh likely story turns out it was a more likely story than we initially gave him credit for as we later confirmed that guy was not in on the treasure hunt. But he really should be. He was great. And he was also right out there on the dock we found another long thread, and the thread is attached to thing. There's something it's floating in the water, and there's a burlap sack inside of the thing that's floating in the water. We pulled up the package opened the box and pulled out what looked like a vape pen crossed with a flashlight the instructions read us on the map. So we did. And sure enough. There were words written on it that had been invisible in normal light Ford, the trolley and. Wait, wait instructions. We're getting on the for Holly, dude trolley, isn't that the big boat that we Charlton tally time? Got one of these people are going to give us mysterious instructions scared. Oh. Which one A S P H. Okay for you. Name. We can't tell. Thank you. Thank you. It says in the end team team Aranda walked up to us handed an envelope and walked away. It's pretty straightforward you sign up for this secret Santa exchange on read it you give some information about yourself, and you get matched with someone else on read it who has also provided information there's a spending minimum twenty bucks and you're off to the races. Every once in a while, though, somebody gets a match that is pretty unique a few years ago that person was Reddit user Eric's Alicia leashes from Texas. She came back from errands one morning to see the hated sorry. We missed you sticker from FedEx on her door. You know, that kind of note that often appears like magic and never really seems to guarantee your package will actually get delivered. But this package was special because the FedEx guy came back without prompting carrying a big box. So I get it inside and take off, you know, open with a box cutter. And then there's this huge cardboard. Peace over the top after I already get it open. And then a giant Lou layer of bubble wrap. I pop the bubble wrap or now eventually I did not. I I take off that top cardboard piece. I've just kind of stand there and stare at it for a second because there's a picture right under the top layer of see through green bubble rapper who's in the picture. Bill Gates sat there and stared at it for a second. I didn't know what to do Bill gazes. My Cricket. frigates. The leash did not wait for her husband who is at work to open the other presence one of which had her read it handle Eric's on it. It said Eric's mittens on the box. And then the other one said clerics come on. Now that soup cute. My dog's name is Claire the box had a ton of stuff inside lots of it, admittedly, made by Microsoft, of course. But it was obvious. Bill Gates are his people had looked at a leashes read it history. They did their research. I guess man Alicia is a big video gamer, so she got wireless XBox controllers, a special edition Minecraft themed XBox, and those mittens they had a theme that classic Nintendo video games Zelda, which Alicia used to play with her older, brother. Oh, yes. Oh, I have a try force tattoo. It's bad. Wait. What is try force? Again, is that the like different the things that you have to collect? Fan. It's been a little while it's been a little while since the best gift in the box might have been a Cajun cookbook. There was also a note it says Eric's since you're originally from Louisiana and miss your uncle's Cajun cooking, I thought you might enjoy trying some of the recipes from this cookbook merry Christmas. Bill Gates is there a message that you would like him to hear if you could tell him. Frigging? Thank you. And everything was perfect. I want to send him a thank you card. But I don't think if I sent it to address that's the return address. I don't feel like it wouldn't get to him. But I still have that on my to do list. Elisa's favorite video game of all time. Zelda the theme music of which you're hearing right now is all about going on a quest. So time to get back to my quest with Ameri a quest that another editor designed for us. So that we could find him for an interview about his job which happens to be setting up. Quests it started in historic Alexandria, Virginia near the Potomac river, which is kind of perfect because the Reddit or we were chasing after has a favorite movie, some of which also takes place around our nation's capital..
