A highlight from The CoverBag with Murp McCarthy

"Marine veteran Murph McCarthy is the creator of the cover bag the best protection for your dress hat or dress uniform cover Coming up next on veteran on the move Welcome to veteran on the move if you're a veteran in transition an entrepreneur wannabe or someone still stuck in that J -o -b trying to escape this podcast is dedicated to your success And now your host Joe Crain As a member owned not -for -profit Navy Federal puts members at the heart of every single thing they do Find out more at Navy federal org All right today we're talking with Marine Corps veteran Murph McCarthy owner of the cover bag calm and The women's rugby coach at the Naval Academy, that's pretty cool So Murph welcome to the show before we get to talking about business and entrepreneurship As a marine fellow aviator having had one of those on this show for a long time. Tell us what you did in the Marine Corps yes, so I Actually, I enlisted right out of high school and things went really well I was a tower air traffic controller and I ended up at the prep school for the Naval Academy and then graduated from the Naval Academy in 2000 then TBS and then went to down to Pensacola and When so helos went out to the FRS out there in Camp Pendleton quickly fell in love with it learned how to fly frogs Then I went to East Coast and I did two deployments on the East Coast And when I came back from that second one, there was a bunch of ospreys on the tarmac you know, I wasn't sure I wanted to get into that so I solicited my services back out to Camp Pendleton and then I ended up with the Purple Did foxes a couple deployments with them and then along the road. I got I got the the drone stink on me Stick with VMU doing drones and when it came time for me to get out of the cockpit I actually my services were sought by people other than myself To go do that again. So I went To VMU three and did a couple deployments With those guys then I came back to the Naval Academy where I was working in the Stockdale Center for ethical leadership and I was teaching leadership and that's when I started coaching rugby at the Academy in 2011 and then I had one last gig down at DITRA defense threat reduction agency where I was doing I was working on the open skies treaty which is a fascinating gig if you can get it, and I don't think you can get it anymore, but and then I retired in 2017 and You know, that was my Marine Corps story from the end of high school 92 to 2017 interesting so You know, sometimes transition is different. You're retiring because at least you got that paycheck of the month club membership, but Sometimes retirement isn't any easier than you know being in being in the military for four years and then getting out also So what was your transition like? Well, I wasn't sure what I wanted to do when I grew up You know, I was still like volunteering coaching rugby and that I Didn't see myself ever getting out of that because that was just a really fun thing for me to do It filled a lot of the you know, what you miss about the Marine Corps stuff for me But I started looking into a couple different business opportunities. I Started a business before I retired probably almost ten years before I retired and that was the cover bag and what ended up being the cover bag calm and that just grew and grew and grew to where You know, I could definitely take up a lot of time just working that when I retired But I'm I knew that was I wanted one more thing at least And that's when I started looking into other business opportunities and I got into fitness I a started franchise in Annapolis and did that I looked at a Number of other franchise opportunities, but I knew fitness was probably going to be what I wanted to do, right? So Was there an entrepreneurial bug inside of you the whole time? You're in the Marine Corps to just come about at a later time Totally. Yeah, like I've been into that kind of thing when I was since I was a kid So I remember getting in trouble for selling fireworks in the bathroom at my junior high school You know, I came up with ideas for stuff to put on ball caps Slinging t -shirts like that was always a thing but the cover bag was an idea I had when I went to the Naval Academy and You know, you're always wearing that combination cover like in the Marine Corps You're lucky especially if you're in aviation like you already ever even see that thing Yeah, buddy with the chicken you're trucking that thing all around all the time and it's white And you know, all you got to do is sit on it once or you know Be holding an ink pen that you probably should have retired a week before next to it And you gotta take the whole thing apart or buy new parts or buy a new one And I'm like man if I just had a bag for this thing, so it was like a couple years of me sketching out what it probably should look like and then designing it and then You know once you make the first couple and then you kind of go from there, but no I've always had that Hey, wouldn't this be a good idea Like I probably I probably do that like three times a week. Yeah, I've always been the same way but I think like especially when I was when you're a kid or when you're really young you have no idea how to Capitalize on your idea like yeah idea how to implement it or execute. I mean, you just don't have those capabilities and then especially nowadays with the internet and all the technology and everything and in Alibaba and China and all these resources that are available You can you could come up with a harebrained idea in just a few months be taking it to market Whereas like 20 30 years ago. It was like almost impossible to do to do. Yeah. No, and that's something you People should keep in mind. Like if you've got what you think is a crazy idea Just keep kind of fleshing it out and then you know for me it was a buddy of mine He's like, hey, I got a buddy who's got a hat and bag factory in Newark, New Jersey And why don't you send me that sketch you talked about? So I sent it to him and the guy produced a demo and And that was the first one like just like that dude. That's awesome. All right, hold that thought we're gonna take quick break We'll be right back As a member owned not -for -profit Navy Federal puts members at the heart of every single thing that they do Low fees and great rates resources to help you crush your financial goals 24 -7 access to stateside member service representatives with award -winning customer service Earnings and savings of four hundred seventy three dollars per year by banking with us an average credit card APR That's six percent lower than the industry average a market leading regular savings rate nearly two times the industry average I'm still with Navy Federal after 33 years and not going anywhere. So When I saw your interview come through Murph I gotta admit I'm like the cover bag and I went to your website and I saw it and I'm like ding I get it instant instant like yep thumbs up and Cuz my wife and I were Amazon sellers for many years. We're totally out of the business now. Amazon just got to be Amazon was like walking through a minefield you like you thinking you're fine all sudden kaboom your right leg's missing You're like what the fuck? anyways So we're out of Amazon now, but I loved Amazon cuz like we talked about earlier when you're when you're young You come all these hair brained ideas. That's a great idea for product That's a great idea and I could I could run them to ground and be and be putting it on Amma be putting a great product on Amazon, you know within a few months sometimes Sometimes that's not a good thing because if it turned out not to be a good idea you lose a lot of money At least I could exercise these ideas for the first time in my life. And so I have a true appreciation for a great product and I Remember, you know getting my uniforms at the Marine Corps shop or the marine the marine shop in there in Quantico And I think I still have that white shredded cardboard box with my white cover in it somewhere back in storage and and I The whole time I'm like, how am I supposed to carry this thing around? I mean for 20 plus years in the Marine Corps I carded that thing around in a cardboard box and somehow it managed to work out for him when I saw the cover bag I'm like, oh, yeah, like I get it that that's it. Like like how did how'd you just come up with that idea? It was just I mean I get it It's like it's like a problem every one of us dealt with but nobody ever thought of the idea or at least executed on the idea Yeah, well, I always thought we you know, they're expensive So all you gotta do is have to replace one and you're like man, how do I not do that again? Yeah, and that's where it started but when I had You know that run -in with my buddy's friend who said he could make me a demo I was like a demo sounds like it sounds like I'm in it But he he produced, you know The first cover bag from my sketch and I and all I had was like a little couple tweaks And he sent I ordered about 15 of them and I opened up the box of these 15 cover bags And I handed him out to the guys that were doing the color guard For the ball when we had the ball the next night and when the Marines were like, holy shit, sir This is awesome. Where'd you get these? I was like funny story like I invented that and they're like what and then I knew that I had something and that's Really? Yeah pulling my money together and like spending quality time thinking about how I was gonna do it Wow Yeah, I got like a thousand questions cuz and like I said, I'm a product guy Like I love cool products and the idea behind it. So interviewing somebody that created a product it became successful Because it was just the right idea and Let me tell you man. I don't know if you realize this bit. It is hard to find to Manufacture something in the US and it's great that this is a military product Which by the way, I want to point out like I know in the Navy Marine Corps. We call it a cover your uniform hat The other services. I'm sure the Air Force didn't call it a cover. They probably caught a hat I'm not I'm not sure about the army But you know, I want to point out a cut the cover is your official military head piece or your you know It's your military hat but in the Marine Corps Navy, we call it the cover So your product is called the cover bag But I suppose you you wouldn't have wanted to call it the hat bag because then it would have just been like anything No, and I you know how you always wondered like you watch a commercial Or hear like a radio ad you're like I'm confused but like three minutes later you're still talking about it I think some of that. Yes, I think some of that has happened with calling it the cover back You know because I thought that I was gonna be selling to guys like you and me Like I thought this was gonna be you know by the troops for the troops type thing Yeah, but I have a ton of customers that are moms and Grandmas wives like they don't know what a cover is So they're like I pick up the phone and somebody says cat bag 95 % of the time really and I just I just kind of roll with it because it's one of those You got all these old ladies buying it to you're talking about it. So let's keep that up It's like the the the Red Hat Ladies Club is buying your bag for their hats and stuff or fancy hat No, they're buying it for their husband's boyfriend's grandchildren The cover bag is a huge gift idea like I'll send I'll sell like six figures worth of these things through the Marine Corps exchanges in a year I sell a lot more than that to friends and families of people graduating Parris Island and MCRD San Diego. It's it's absolutely fascinating and Much in the same way as cover bags hat bags hat covers all that stuff My favorite is that you know, I don't pay anything for advertising like I tried it a couple times It was to me It was like wasting money because I couldn't figure out if it was doing anything at all But people will get on Facebook and argue about what should be Embroidered on the cover bag. No, it should be last name first name. No, it should just be the initials No It should be first name and then the middle name and then the last name and I'm like this is amazing because it'll go on And then the website goes ding ding ding Yeah, well I suppose you know first initial middle initial last name, you know, maybe rank before that might you know if you're selling them to all the eighth and I Marines if it becomes that if he becomes a Regular issue piece of gear. Well, then you gotta you gotta do by right? I think that's probably eventually gonna happen. Yeah Yeah, the Marines like solve a lot of your problems. They just make you do stuff The Marine Corps ever figures out. Hey, we don't want anybody walking around with a bad -looking cover again We're gonna put one of them cover bags in their c -bag issue. Yeah, that's it. That'll solve that. Yeah Yeah, well then they won't have to walk around with it in you in there with their bent arm and hand, you know So So what are some of your numbers that you can share with us or just to give us a perspective on? How successful the cover bags? Well, to be honest The company's not openly for sale, so I'm not really in tune exactly with the numbers But I've been trying to get in with the Navy exchange So the last gentleman that worked there He didn't really understand and like how the cover bag was an amazing piece of gear But they're starting to get the memo now and the main number I've been talking with them is like hey Do you know I I do over six figures worth of business with the MCX at the Navy exchanges of which there is many Many more. Can you imagine how good this would do if it was available? Yeah to the Navy first hand and then retail, you know I do I do a lot more business retail than I do goals for sale. So well, dude, that's awesome. This is good you're always gonna need to protect that cover and like I said the the parents and Girlfriends wives and grandparents are on Facebook talking about what needs to be on a cover bag and they're like, what's a cover bag? Cover and then there I am my website just gets the pinks. Yeah You know, it's like that the old the old Henry Ford story where he says Well, if I had asked the customer what they wanted, they would have said a faster horse, you know, or right There's a quote similar from Steve Jobs Like sometimes the customer doesn't really know what they're looking forward what they need until they see it You can have any color car you want as long as it's black the other Henry Ford one yeah, and The cover bags kind of like that because if you said what's one of the biggest, you know You know pain in the ass things you do you deal with with your uniform? Nobody would have said I wish I had something to carry my cover in but I mean hardly anybody would have said that but When they see when they see the cover bag, they're like, oh, yeah I want one of them because I that is a pain point for me I just never realized that there would be as ever solution for it yeah, no, it's it's a no -brainer and eat and like People that aren't, you know actively using the cover like the parents can figure out that a cover bags a great idea And the other thing is, you know, mom's don't want to be buying their kids, you know, whiskey flasks and knives Something Practical they're not gonna put alcohol in or possibly shank somebody with It works out pretty good to get him a cover back and embroidery everybody loves embroidery that Yeah Now it's got your name on it, oh, yeah The embroidery thing for the cover bag is when it really exploded Yeah, and there's a nice big surface area on the thing for plenty of embroidery you can Yeah It takes a while if you come up with a design and you want me to put it on there that takes a little more time a little more involved, but I got plenty of patch choices and You can put whatever name you want on there nicknames Like if people get too wrapped up in what name they want in there or what order I'll be like Does your does your son have a pretty cool nickname? They're like, oh, yeah, we call him Sparky.

"Wreck in the Annapolis area in Maryland westbound Forest Drive nearby Water Road had been seen of a wreck under police direction I'm Rita Kessler WTOP traffic. 7 News first alert meteorologist Mark Pena it looks like the temperatures are gonna really climb today compared to yesterday and we have a chance of some dicey weather yeah that's absolutely right the heat and humidity are definitely gonna be up today we have highs in the upper 80s to near 90 degrees and when you factor in the abundant humidity that we'll have we'll be feeling like the mid 90s and these ingredients are also gonna tap into a weak system that's gonna come on through but it's strong enough though that we might see some strong to severe storms timing looks to be about the mid afternoon to 3 o 'clock hour through about the early evening hours 6 -7 p .m. main threats we'll be watching out for will be some large hail and damaging winds and since some of us have received a lot of rain in the past couple weeks weeks maybe some minor flooding maybe some ponding on the roads and some swelling of our creeks and streams after today's rainfall though we've really begin to dry out as that high pressure over the southwest really expands over the entire continental United States and what that means for us is some real big -time heat highs tomorrow in the low 90s but by Thursday and Friday and even into Saturday we'll have highs flirting with 100 degrees and when again you factor in the humidity which is going to be abundant will be feeling well into the triple digits so make sure you're planning ahead for this have ways to stay cool and just you know check on neighbors your make sure everybody has adequate cooling by the beginning of next week we'll see the introduction of some more showers in the forecast which will bring temperatures down to near seasonal averages around 90 right now pretty comfortable start to the day 74 downtown DC we've got 75 in sterling 75 also down in Woodlawn and it's brought to you by Dulles Glass for all your your glass mirror and

"Be outdoors for long periods of time today and tonight we are experiencing our first ever Code Purple air quality day. The much anticipated spring offensive for Ukrainian military forces is happening. WTOP national security correspondent J .J. Green will along be with more. Keep it here for full details in the minutes ahead. It's 5 18. Traffic and weather on the 8th. Back to Bob at the traffic center. Lots of volume out there around the beltway in Montgomery and Prince George's counties crashed on the outer loop leave. It's already out of the roadway near 4 50 on the right shoulder. 95 southbound heavy and slow out of Baltimore County into Howard but the crash at 175 has now been cleared. Travel lanes are now open but it's going to take a while for that to clear out. On southbound 301 at Roseville the crash is gone. 50 east through out Annapolis. Slows at the 7 beyond that you're good to the Bay Bridge and on 270 just brief volume delays here and there. In Virginia 395 slow and a couple of stretches to the Pentagon in the landmark on 95. Slows from Lorton getting Down to Dale City you did have the crash at the service roadway there but I think they've got it on the right shoulder. Main lanes have been open the entire time and caller had a crash on Prince William Parkway headed away from Route 1 and just after 95 causing some delays getting by under police direction. Meanwhile delays on 66 are pretty brief you do slow down through getting Vienna and Centerville both ways in Falls Church. Interloop loads up at Route 7 getting into Maryland in district the just volume delays on the 295 I 295 a DC 295 and 695 westbound getting into the merge from the 3rd Street tunnel on 395 South just volume there as well. And Montgomery county one O 8 at guilford road, the crash there near the Howard county line might be just inside Howard at that point anyway, on I 97 north near the farm road overpass, about a mile or so north of route 50, that of a single lane getting by to the life pass to work so and they've cleared the crash out of the roadway on the Baltimore Washington Parkway southbound near one 97. But now the workshops are setting up in Montgomery county in a loop delay begins before you get to Connecticut avenue, headed around to a point before Georgia avenue, and you'll be getting by in two lanes to the right, getting to colesville road as they are now setting up the work zone. We're good to go on two 70, and 50 through prince George's, and at a local county is also running without delay. Now, in Virginia, it's pretty quiet night so far. Right now it's only one lane going east toward Kent island. Better north of 50 on I 97 through air Toronto county, the crash and crownsville is clear. "The DMV download podcast to hear how the state of Maryland is combating this emerging drug. We'll see you there. Traffic and weather on the 8s and winded breaks on WTO. Thanks dean, the interlude of the bellway got some good news for you as you make way past four 50 Annapolis road. It does look like the earlier crash has cleared. I am, however, noticing a little bit of a slowdown there on the interleukin head down towards 50, looks like maybe the emergency crews that picked up those vehicles involved might be making their way on those ramps, which is why they're a little bit slower than usual. Just be extra cautious if you could. So far inside the beltway 50 looks great as you make your way down to New York avenue. Now speaking of New York avenue it is about that time of night. Of course it is weekend, so people are out and about. If you're near New York avenue and bladensburg road, you will see plenty of delays in all four directions and do watch out for pedestrians. Do remember, there's a lot of folks having a nice time tonight, sometimes they forget to use crosswalks. It does happen. If you're headed on New York avenue towards the third street tunnel no issues, southeast southwest freeway looks great. In Virginia, things are very quiet, especially on your majors. No issues on 66. I 95 looks good. They were looking for an accident scene southbound near a quiet harbor doesn't seem to be the case any longer if anything you might find some activity on shoulders, if not just be extra cautious. If you're headed southbound on 95, near the aquia Harvard, you may find some emergency vehicles. Northbound looks good. Three 95 is quiet from edsel road up towards a 14th street bridge, no issues on the southeast Southwest freeway. As I said, GW Parkway looks great as you head northbound towards the capitol beltway. Of course they do have those cones on the ramps as they normally do at just picture it as a single lane ramp. No worries as of now, one 8 6 6 three O four WTO is that traffic tip line or don't forget to download that WTO app. That one's my personal favorite. Send me a voice message. "Before we get into these amazing stories, Mike span, David Tyson, John walker lind, who is Toby Honda. Tell us about what you did in the British armed forces and your life as a journalist before you became an author. Yes, well, you know, we share a somewhat similar accent as listeners and viewers will detect. You still got yours. Our minds kind of rubbing off a little bit, but I don't know. I'm worried. I'm worried about mind getting a little bit Americanized. But I trust yeah, you're a bit soggy in the middle of the Atlantic somewhere. Yeah, I mean the ace. So yeah, I'm 56 years old, I was born in 66. My father was in the navy. We moved around, we sort of ended up in Manchester, industrial city in the northwest. You don't have a mancunian accent. I think the Royal Navy actually did for the mancunian accent, which was pretty skin deep anyway. But you know, I sort of, you know, I wanted to follow in my father's footstep, I guess there's so many sort of young men do. And I also wanted to get out of Manchester and see the world and it just seemed like a very kind of insular sort of small sort of place. And so all that teenage angst was just channeled towards working hard to get out. And so I got a sponsorship from the I joined the navy at 18. Went to Dartmouth, which is the Britannia royal naval college, kind of the equivalent of the U.S. naval academy at Annapolis, but not really because it's more basic officers training. It's like santas is shorter. Yeah, that's right. I mean, I was there for less than a year. And I threw the navy I got a sponsorship to Oxford to study modern history, so I went off whilst serving naval officer, although I barely wore the uniform for those years apart from a few months sailing around sort of Hong Kong and the far east and Australia. So I had some good times. Yes, exactly. So I was serving naval officer for three years at college and then graduated from college and was pitched in to a career. Which I enjoyed immensely, but you know, it was after the Falklands War, which was 1982, I was joining and supplying to join just sort of join the Falklands actually, age 16. But I missed that. I was stationed in Scotland for the Gulf War, tried very hard to get involved. They managed to that's a long way away from Iraq. I know. They managed to win it without meeting my services. Kathie Lee Gifford Is an Unapologetic Woman of Faith

"Kathy, you are one of those people I told you this before. You make me happy. I start cracking stupid jokes because that's the way I think it is. Well you better. But that's the wavelength Iran that you're funny. You can do shtick. You can sing. And then you write books. And so the reason you're in the studio today is not to sing, although perhaps you will. I might break into ladies and gentlemen. Pray that I don't. What do you say? She ain't what she used to be. But you have a book out. So that's ostensibly why you're here. But I've known you for quite a long time. Yes. And you are a woman of faith, and the thing that I say to people, and I've said this for years, I don't know if I've said this to you publicly, but what I've always felt we needed in the culture and I've always wanted to try to be one of those people. Is a public figure who is openly Christian. And whenever I talk about that, I immediately go to you because I think who has been out there over the years who has just been leading her life as a public figure, not as a Christian figure, but who is nonetheless openly Christian. And I really think that that's kind of the missing piece in the culture because we've divided. We've got the Christian faith over here, and then we've got the rest of the world here. And anybody with common sense knows that's nonsense. Right. But very few people are willing to live that out. You're one of them. In fact, you might be two or three of them. And I want to say thank you. Sweetie. You know, I've always had a boldness about my faith. I've always had an awareness, even a 12 year old girl when I first asked Jesus to be in my heart that the answer right away. Yeah. To who much is given much is required. Once I started learning scripture, but I was sitting in a little movie theater in Annapolis, Maryland, and God already knew that I wanted to be an actress and a singer and a writer. He knew that I came out of the womb with a rim shot in a prep fall. You know, I mean, people do. And there's a reason for it. God, what everything I am and everything you are, was woven in our mother's wombs into us. Are you saying that our parents were drinking? Is that the issue? No. Something went wrong. Something. No. That's the stick

"As we mentioned remnants of hurricane ida have been spawning heavy rain tornadoes and life. Threatening conditions in the mid atlantic northeast. A tornado warning was even posted here in new york city. Major highways are flooded with cars and buses trap and the subways are shutting down in what the national weather service says is the city's first ever flash flood emergency. Several large tornadoes were reported north of philadelphia and in south jersey. As we mentioned new jersey's governor phil murphy has just declared a state of emergency. Some neighborhoods had to be evacuated cars and buses there were stranded in floodwaters and now thousands in the region are without power earlier this afternoon. What twister roared through. Parts of annapolis maryland pulling down trees and power poles and in louisiana. Where this same storm system tore apart the state's power grid. Some low lying communities remain largely underwater. Many hospitals in the state are still running on generators and again today. The governor warned evacuated residents knocked comeback yet. The water system is really poor. Electricity is non-existent. Communications actually started getting a little bit better today. We have not figured out the fuel situation. Don't come back before the paris tells you that they are ready to receive you because you're just going to create another demand on a system that can't withstand the demand that currently has for more. Accumulating Snow, Wintry Mix Expected This Week in Washington DC Area

"Some winter stuff out of Sergeant. Yeah. Sean Rowan, tracking two rounds of wintry weather for the rest of the work week. And then another storm system looks to impact the region over the weekend Now, Right now we're looking at mainly clear skies here in the metro area, more clouds north and background. The idea one quarter and that's being reflected. Temperatures, but based on the ground position, we could have a really nice sunset tonight. Sunset time now at about 5 40, with lows tonight in the mid twenties to low thirties were drawing during the day tomorrow. But during the evening hours snow showers move into the area and a wintry mix will develop in spots around the metro region, South and east as a snow moves in and continue in spots. South and east overnight on into Thursday morning, North and west of the Metro. This is looking like mainly just snow with high temperatures tomorrow in the mid thirties toe low 40 So again that first round tomorrow night through the mid day hours on Thursday, accumulations generally speaking right now. About 1 to 3 inches. Isolated amounts could be higher north and west of the Metro up to four inches or more of that first round. The second round is then. Thursday night through Friday morning, this round looks to be all snow with additional accumulations of about 1 to 3 inches, bringing our snowfall totals to about 5 to 8 inches by Friday morning. So this is a long duration event with breaks in the action, meaning you'll be able to get out and about but will also be dealing with slick roads at times with highs Thursday, only in the low to mid thirties. Friday, we warmed to around 30 and then Saturday and Sunday high temperatures back. Yeah, I should say remaining in the thirties, and it looks like we'll have a storm system, moving in later Saturday into Sunday. With a wintry mix right now in the books for that system. Currently we're at 49 in Manassas, 50 in Arlington and 46 in Annapolis. Thanks familiar Brought to you by new Look

"And they may do legislative then I hope they do. It's not. It'll be the first order of business when session starts in January 2022 that the primary is in June and the filing deadline for candidates February No, it really doesn't give much time for people who want to run to, you know, make sure that they're in the right district unable to do that, Yeah, and listen as a as a resident of the most atrocious, most egregious congressional district, And by the way, this will be a good test delegate Still like I believe I live in the most ridiculous congressional district in Maryland. It makes absolutely no sense It looked to call it an inkblot would be a crime because there's nothing continuously About it. What district? You think that I'm referring to? Oh, you must be Paul Servings. The third. Yeah, exactly. Yes, exactly. Yes, it's outrageous. It's the word, John Sarbanes, actually now, of course I'm sorry. Yeah, evoking the name of his father. Right? Well, yes, because it was drawn just so he could win in it. Yes. First gave his father Yeah, it's outrageous. So I'm looking forward to redistricting for sure. It is it is. It is shameful What they've done with that district and unconscionable And you're right. There is so I live in the Baltimore County area, and there's and I used to work for Andy hair, sort of wonderful, awesome Congressman Andy Harris. And I remember working on his campaign back in 2012. You could stand on a corner and Perry Hall and you could be literally on the border of three congressional districts. E think we deserve better in Maryland and Dutch and starving. You're like right here. The three of you meet this makes no sense at all. It just makes me think they're afraid of Perry Hall. Get this. The Leggo is our guest. She is the minority whip in the house of delegates in Annapolis. That is the first date. What s so what? Beyond redistricting, which hopefully, we can agree on and actually get something that what else do you think we can agree on and fix and actually get done in the state of Maryland, this legislative session. Well, covert. We can We all agree on the covert, You know, on Toby Response, Healthcare, making sure we're you know, taking care of people who have been affected by this virus through no fault of their own. They've been. You know, they're sick. They need to be taking care of. They've lost their job. They've lost their business that you know, these are important things. And you know, we do have a rainy day fund. And you know it. If we don't use the rainy day fund for today, I don't know when it's raining. You know, this is a once in 100 year pandemic. I am a small government, low taxes. Republican servant of Republican but you know, there is a time to spend what you have saved. And you know, we have to make sure that we're taking care of folks again through no fault of their own. Well, if that's the bottom line your heart as you know, delegates silica. These are not people who are looking for a handout from the government. They want to go back to work. They want to open up. They want to get back to business. They're being prevented from doing so. It's not that they're not able or capable or willing to do that, and that's why it frankly and they're not able to do it because the government has told them not to. Exactly a lot of these small mom.
