Since Medicare ended its COVID test coverage last week, it's likely a scam, says the Maryland department of aging lately investigators say that scammers have gotten more aggressive by calling an emailing seniors, which is something Medicare representatives don't do. The inspector general of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services posted a fraud warning on its website, alerting seniors not to give out their Medicare number, which scammers can use to build the government for tests, doctors visits, and COVID kits you didn't actually order. "Story we're following metro trains have been under manual control for more than a decade following a deadly crash in 2009. Since then, the transit agency says it's implemented a number of safety and engineering improvements, and now it's planning to bring self piloting trains back. Later this week, the metro board will talk about testing the new and improved automatic trains on the red line. The tests, this spring may lead to installing the system by installing this system wide by the end of the year. Metro leaders say returning to automation should create smoother rides, reduce delays and reduce the chances of operator error. The 2009 crash that killed 9 passengers on the red line remains the deadliest incident in metro's history. Another Norfolk Southern train has derailed in Ohio just 1000 feet from nearby homes. It had been near Springfield on Saturday, and it comes about a month after that toxic derailment in the town of east Palestine, Ohio. 20 cars peeled off the track near Springfield, Ohio. Residents nearby were asked to briefly shelter in place, local officials say there is no public risk. According to federal data, rail remains the safest way to move hazardous materials, but after the east Palestinian disaster, Ohio senator sherrod Brown would like to see real safety standards improve. It's clear that their greed and incompetence always takes precedent over making their workers safe and making communities safe that they go through. There's another challenge for displaced residents of the Silver Spring apartment building that caught fire. Some now say they are not being given access to their belongings unless they give up the right to sue. A fire that killed a woman two weeks ago at the arrive apartment building in Silver Spring and displaced many others has presented another challenge for residents looking to get their belongings back. MSB says some have been told they can't enter the building until they sign a waiver acknowledging the health risks and agreeing not to sue. And it's causing an under amount of added stress and panic. For U.S. citizens have apparently been kidnapped in northern Mexico.
