We all know that You know Gil was kind enough to to focus on some of the children. He's had contact with right now. I mean Jesus Right now. Somebody's getting getting a phone call about their baby. Somebody's getting a phone call about their wife. Somebody's getting a phone call about a twenty seven year old father just had a chai and so I'd already had this incredible career and wonderful family. But I didn't die. What I did was get the daylights Outta me because the treatment but now and Bob and I were just talking about this? We've had wonderful careers but in the context of Hollywood. It's not a big deal. We're just lucky that we've been working but when you're able to Haven't experienced like this that I certainly wouldn't recommend anybody. However if you gotta go through it you come out with a impossibly deep sense of not only gratitude but empathy so we now have the experience where where I I can now go to sit with someone or talk to them hold their hand or whatever metaphorically or otherwise? When when I say boy I know I know and it turns out and I was just on Dr drew's show on KABC? And and he said you know rabbi often talked to people who say Gosh you know. It's turned out that I have the gift of cancer or the gift of fill in the blank. Because if if you're able to contextualized what a problem is what struggle means. It turns out that you can really be helpful. And and in my case it was as a result of this book in the context of these characters because all of us here have been fortunate to work on shows that bring utter joy the people and so now Do Too Nice folks like you opportunities to do some public speaking. It turns out that I have this bully pulpit from which I I can I can tell my story and then like you're talking about people come up to us at these events through tears telling me thank you for sharing your story about throat cancer. Let me tell you about my my brother who just died of liver cancer. But he's you know it. He fought as long as he could but he the last six months of his life every day. Hey that he would have this particular treatment. That was very difficult for him but it kept them around for another holiday. We all had our watches on Alarms because because we had a little piece of Ninja Turtle Memorabilia. Every time that this young man would go through his treatment so every day I had my turtle action configured my pocket or my turtle Bandanna because my brother who just passed away at thirty seven lived for the Ninja Turtles and so- turtles will mean more to my family that you'd never know and that's what I'm learning as a result of the book so for us for talking about one of the touching things in the book to is your friendships is Maurice. And and trust and Sean Astin Austin and Randy and now everybody was there for you totally. You know who your friends are when the chips are down. Yeah and the truth is that my wife and I decided not to talk about it too much because there was no point again. Everybody's got their shit. I gotTa Tell You I saw you. Yeah it turns out that these he's characters that we've all been involved in have a deeply personal utterly positive effect on all of them even through the the possibility of burying your child. I will never know what that's like. Thank God and people do it every day and they get up the next Goddamn Day and they put on their shoes they soldier on so I now have these examples of profiles encouraged that I never would have had otherwise. You should not be holding auditions because if somebody can lose their job by telling a joke if it's not funny don't listen to the joke again but right it just irked me that you lost a job because somebody was offended by a joke. We are all one joke away from losing our livelihood. I mean I I heard was a Kevin Hart who said. Where's the art of the UPS? Yeah where everyone is just one joke. One tweet away from sue. I'm sorry we're GONNA cancel your career in life too so when they okay hold auditions I said to my agent am not auditioning for this and be passed. I didn't I mean I think a lot of us. The mutual us a we won't go after each other jobs. It's just it's a IT'S A. It's a handshake grizzly in that context. It wasn't about use saying I'm tired of it or them saying we're going in a different direction. The circumstances in that ended up in that I think there are a lot of us who do this Gig And we all know like Bobby said the tenuous line that we all kind of walk and there are a lot of folks in this round governance. I'm so I'm glad you brought that up frank. Because it's not. It's important for other actors to hear howling so kind that kind of how we carry each other's water you know we're we really are all in this together so it's good that you I know that about that. Gil Thank you thank you most of you about it. I didn't work for you but I tried. Very refused to audition for two Gilbert. Yeah for what that's worth. Well you you know was story. I heard that Years ago when when when Mel Blanc was in that terrible car accident right They they knew they were making loads of money off bugs bugs bunny cartoons so they want to make new ones and and the yes one of the other voiceover guys that WANNA brothers. Can you do bugs bunny. And and he said I can but I won't write lesson right and honestly that's happened a number of times when you know when the simpsons and the cast of the simpsons look look. We need some dough here because they literally put that network on the map and now they are the longest running show in and a history of frequently. Yeah so they start you know said look. We're GONNA we need to make a little more Ramey and I honestly none of the usual suspects specs. I don't know anybody that does this at this level. Who auditioned for it? Nobody because we also know that discussed and it's together but sooner or later it will come back sooner or later somebody will say. Hey Man The producers decided Rob's asking too much money to be the talk and chick and he's been doing it for twenty years. But you know we're going to have you and it's nice to know that all of us are are kind of going or if it does come up where where. Somebody's working on an iconic character. Like like you're mentioning Gilbert about Mel Blanc. I always make a phone call. I'll say look here's the deal. I've gotten this piece of copy. My agent has said they WANNA have you come in and read for homer. Simpson Dan Castellaneta and find out. What's the deal? Yeah you know rob. It's fine I'm done with it. I've had enough. I'm moving on retiring or yeah just kind of a money thing. That's all I need to hear right. I'm done that brings me to to Bob Story About Dawes about about what was it. Cap'n crunch yeah well I was studying with Dos dos Butler color and does Butler Butler they were. They were New Ad Agency there were going to get a new Cap'n crunch they were holding auditions and I was pissed. I Call Dawes and I said I can't believe they're doing this. I won't report and said I'm not going to be doing anymore. Because they're getting rid of me so I don't I coach it come on over. I'll grant I captain crunch. But they knew he knew that he was out. "We needed to be quiet. Might ruffled some feathers. That's once again. That's okay but but we're an offense in a critical down. We need to be able to have silence in Rome. Say It's got to be an advantage for us. And then when they get the ball it's got to be really love. Let's just face Chris. So here's the thing about Baker Mayfield. If the browns were succeeding this season as people thought they would. We would look at all of this stuff. The comments the mustache mustache and say. Oh what is the truth. pillory Baker Mayfield's added again but because they're losing everything he does now is a source of outrage. He's not necessarily surly wrong about the noise thing. But Brown's problems at the goal. Line art the sound there the plays. They're calling at the goal line. I mean they tried ride six times to score inside the two and failed the last time that happened my favorite. TV show was Anna Maniacs. That's how long it's been. Baker is as a Sassy truth teller. He's not lying obviously. It's not the only problem that the browns have The there is an advantage to win your loud when they're on defend unquiet when they're on offense sing is you can't expect browns fans to go from being a joke. Who are very quiet and or staying at home to perfectly? I'm good at their jobs. It's just like any other gig. You need a little bit of experience of doing it properly and and doing it right before it's just all of a sudden gonNA be your natural go you too so I say cut the fans a little bit of slack and and do better at the football guys. I'm worried about Baker Mayfield because I've been watching him transform over the last couple couple weeks as they've struggled he's got five o'clock shadow not a bitter beer face he's got a Qbr in the mid forties and he's telling everyone to stop stop yelling when he's on offense he's Jay colored from September twenty twelve. He is basically fully Jay Cutler. He lost all of his swag. He's really frustrated and angry and sad. He has euro charisma and he's got a QBR that rivals that of the old guys. Don't harass worried. I don't like Baker without his swagger. I would rather have walking in big baller brand style every single week after a loss. That what I'm seeing right now. It's too much but it's hard to have charisma when you're three and six and it's been a quarter of a century since ending buddy went six plays from the two yard line without scoring any points. I thought that that was the most difficult trick. That talented team talented but dumb team has pulled up but it is not they have made Odell Beckham total afterthought they've turned earned him into a mediocre receiver and they were trying to force him the ball on that goal line unsuccessfully bankers right you gotta shut up but those people will make noise they were booing even when the team was winning in that game. Those people wanna make noise for something because they've had too many of those one in fifteen and sixteen season. Do you think people would take Baker more seriously if he wore like a plaid jacket. Like a really loud perhaps ensemble. I can't hear what you're loud about this Jack Kids hypothetical you know. The browns aren't the only team that struggles at the goal. Line though now to me a break Hey anyone ever asked you running there. They've never asked me about it. I.

"It is week thirteen. It is wrong reworked in four the folks out there who may not know the main golden rule of thumb for week thirteen slash rivalry week or really any rivalry. What is it that? We need to do when this week rolls around the calendar. Thai. We gotta we gotta find those records. Yeah. We have to look at those records and best yet throw him out. How throw them out the window? Maybe my favorite tweet of all time is the one we sent out on the at solid verbal account and asked people what do you do this week and got a bunch of cool gifts coming back. People throwing stuff out the window jumping out the window. Everyone knows the deal. You throw the records out in a rivalry these games tend to be tight my suspicion is from knowing our tendencies here over the last couple of years that going to be taken a lot of points here in these games in front of us. But I don't wanna get too far out over the skis. I should also add this din. I'm not sure if you all walk. Yeah. Scheduled but not a lot of windows of opportunity. Like, I hope you got your trip to see cats. In in like week nine. Can you have a newer musical than cats just off the top of your head Hamilton does Hamilton cow. Okay there. It is just making sure thing I'm a cultured individual, Dan. That's true. I hope he got that in before we thirteen because this week is just loaded from top to bottom. We're going to go through all the time slots here, you will see that. There are good games pretty much all throughout Friday and Saturday, I should add that we are technically recording this during a window of opportunity because ball state and Miami of Ohio tied at halftime at twenty one and you is up one on western Michigan. Now the third quarter. So we're we're we're really hard pressed find that window. We got a suggestion from gentleman by the name of Matt Lewis, okay? Out on Twitter, maybe through Email. Sometimes I lose track. He said sixth win Saturday. It's not bad it applies to more teams than you'd think. I thought that was an intriguing option. Do we know how many teams are vying for their sixth win to get bowl eligible? So. It's into the it's about twenty. If my math was correct, it is an aggressively mediocre season, which is fine. But there is I don't know if you want me to go through all of them like Anna maniac style where I just like Miami. Ohio miss, but oh, MRs Nepal, eligible, coastal Carolina and Florida state Baylor Texas Tech Purdue Indiana to lane Wake Forest, Wyoming, Maryland, Arizona, Minnesota SMU, Tennessee, Vanderbilt FAU, Kansas state, Colorado USC TCU. That's all the teams. And now I am done. I'm I'm done singing those pretty good, right? That was actually very good, Dan. Thank you. All right. Six wind Saturday. I'm cool with if you are. Yeah. And Baylor is playing Texas Tech for that sixth. When Purdue is playing Indiana, both sixth win and Tennessee is playing Vanderbilt both for six Gresley mediocre. Yeah. Yeah. Let's start with the big in Saturday at high noon. It's on FOX to Gus games. Gotta be a game. They call it. The game. It is between Michigan and Ohio State. Michigan is a four point favorite. Dan. Ohio states won the last six games in this meeting thirteen fourteen Thai. Yeah. Okay. Who it's been a dominant showing from Ohio State in recent memory? I can't think of this game without thinking of do you? Remember that old? Yes. PIN commercial with the guy who had the Ohio State sweatshirt on and the girl with the Michigan sweatshirt, and they're just making out on the cat. Do you? Remember that of course. Great series. Yeah. I cannot think of this game without thinking of that commercial..

"Yes. Long. Right. So this is really creepy. Full disclosure Aimee. Marx scores new the link to this and everything. Investigative reporting. This crappy animation of some kid eating sugar. And I don't even know who this adult who's like, it's yeah, it's animated, and if you were to see the colors, and the animation just off to the side, perhaps you would think, oh, this is a children's educational video. It's supposed to teach you not to steal not to lie. Not to eat lots of sugar lots of sugar with the looks demon possessed. They've got you know, gnarly jagged teeth. It's very very low quality. And of course, you have those. Demonic possession part of it. Appropriate for kids to add to it. Yeah. And so apparently, you're showed up on YouTube kids. Yeah. And it's not as safe and people were putting in YouTube kids videos that perhaps would include well known cartoon characters or you know, children's shows and then have some kind of demented turn to it out of the plot twists. Yeah. Have them do things that they should not be doing. So YouTube kids is not even safe. But Michael, it makes me when ask you the question how did your parents sensor or monitor what you watched when you were growing up? Well, we did not have cable for most of the time. So that helps a whole bunch. Yeah. Curate the VHS cassettes in the in the cabinet there. But I dunno. I watched a lot of wishbone and be slits the story wishbone. Oh, I love that show the mystery solving dog. Yeah. I like I like PBS, but look at wishbone. So like all these Nickelodeon shows, I kind of feel a little left out of my generation because I didn't necessarily see a whole bunch of Doug. A lot of those kids shows that we're on Nickelodeon cable or Rugrats wasn't Nickelodeon. And I felt like Rugrats was the gateway cartoon to some of the weirder. Children's program. They're kind of evil. I don't know the Rugrats. Let's give evil to me. Picking Ana maniacs. They were to be that wasn't cable. That was on the end that was on WB. Yeah. They were a little bizarre. I got the full animated. Yeah. I just remember watching movies and on TV. And of course, the films would be edited for content and length as the little warning would always show, and then you'd want that movie. So you'd record it on VHS tape, and it was a skill. It was a highly sought after skill to be able to hit stop when the commercials came on. And then hit record when the movie came on. But sometimes there wasn't. There wasn't a rejoinder between the commercial and the movie, and you just have to be quick your Dan -ticipant when the movie, I frame news, the first frame or you'd have you know, you'd have like pasta commercial and go right back to the dogfighting seen in top gun, for instance, which Israel, but my dad was able to censor. I'm pretty sure I watched a G rated version of top gun. I didn't know there was a love scene in the movie until like few years ago. Oh, you got the TV version had the TV version or my dad cut it out. Like, I wasn't there when he was recording. Like, let's go get some popcorn get some popcorn kids. And then and then that's when we got the popcorn. And so you could you could really control what your kids saw. But it is a little bit scarier nowadays. Not just because we have these tools that we think we can just set it and forget it give it to the kids and walk away. And that's not the case. I guess I think those ads also were maybe determined by what you've previously looked at online. So if your kids are seeing ads that are. You might want to look back at your own history. Then. Oh, that's influencing. What your kids are saying? Well, but what about even the the shows that are for kids? Do you ever? Do you feel like what their hidden messages? Like, Anna maniacs. Totally all the jokes about President Clinton everything. Yeah. Those will that was hidden messages. But even the shows that don't have a his message, and it just looks like the people who created it were tripping on acid when they created the show. Have you seen some of the kids shows nowadays? No, I mean you played that song. And I was like oh my gosh. How do parents listen to this for minutes on.

This I E mail. I wanted to read because it's it's not funny, but it touched me so much and I want to give her my personal love right now as Tricia are you in the audience Tricia soocer? Are you in the audience? Where are you Tricia? Hi, sweetie. Tricia road in. We recently had rob Paulsen on the show as my celebrity interview. Rob Paulsen is a brilliant voiceover actor from Anna maniacs and transformers and ninja turtles. What else did he do pinky in the brain? Yeah, he's a legend and he's a great player guy. No, and he was on and we talked about it. Imagine being one of the premier voice over actors of your generation and then out of the blue, he went to the doctors and they diagnosed him with stage three throat cancer. At the time I talked to rob about his story and I was just blown away by his courage and how he persevered and it's happy ending. He's completely clear and he has no cancer now, and it all worked out, but Tricia Rodin because she had listened to interview and she said, she listens all the time, but she had tears rolling down her cheeks after that interview because her nineteen year old daughter is currently under starting chemotherapy right now for Hodgkin lymphoma, and she said that our show helped her the deal with what was going on, and she listens to us every day and it helps her get through with it. And yesterday was her fiftieth birthday. And she came here today to see our show to celebrate her fiftieth birthday. I wanted to give some love to Tricia. Thank you so much, and you know we got nothing but love and good thoughts for you and your family, and we're really pulling for you and what's your daughter's name? Katie? We're all we all Katie in our hearts and minds, and we're wishing you all the best. So kit kicked some cancer ass. Okay. You guys thanks for being here cancer, but cancer. Indeed, that's a bolt stand. We're anticancer on this show. I don't care. I don't care who knows it. We'll we'll say it out loud. I don't care. It's not a red blue thing. Right, man, no cancer. Yeah, it's a brave brave statement from us. Somebody's gotta make and I'll do it. This next thing that's from George Cottrell. He knows that Eddie has. He's an un-american human being and he says that he doesn't like root beer. He does not like root beer, the all American beverage of root beer. Eddie does not drink. Why is it? Why is that the all American beverage because they've been drinking it since we fucking stole this land from the Indians. That's why that's why it's all American because we said, we're going to take this shit away from the indigenous peoples in the ear. Cheers. So s Parrilla and root beer, SAS Barilla's, this Birla SAS, Peru, real gorilla. It's early. Sorry. I almost sobered up..
