Gene and Roger: Partners Shared Unique Relationship

"In nineteen ninety-one jean-ann. Roger sat down for acuna with playboy magazine. The interview was nearly ten thousand words long. And you've really gotta read it. Imagine an intense couples therapy session. But with stories about marker sese and tom cruise thrown in it also gives a good glimpse at how gene and roger were getting along their relationship. Status wasn't quite thumbs up or thumbs down. It was more sideways in the playboy interview. They go out of their way to complement each other. But it's also clear that the years of squabbling between the two had done some damage and the things had taken a turn for the worse at one point. Jean says i felt strange from roger the last month to we've been drifting apart but as the nineties went on gene and roger sometimes awkward union would become less contentious. Thanks to some big events in their offscreen lives. Here's marlene eagleton. Jeans wife the most dramatic change came about. After rogers marriage. The chat nineteen ninety. Two and gene was a bubble husband and father for family was to joy inker and when roger married chance he experience like the same thing with her enter children and our grandchildren and it just became a strong bond between the two of them that they weren't headed but the edges started too often.

"So in nineteen eighty-two not long after siskel and ebert announced they were leaving. The original sneak previews it's producers. Began hunting for their replacements. The show is so popular that nearly three hundred critics applied for the job. Supposedly even pauling kale looked into joining. After a few seasons producers settled on film critics michael medved and jeffrey lyons their setup was nearly identical to gene and rogers to people sitting in a theater showing footage from the latest releases and arguing whether the movie deserve a yes or no. But the new sneak previews was kind of like the new coq as satisfying that might be in quick bursts something about the formula just fell off medved in lyons didn't have the long running relationships gene and roger head which made it hard for them to have an easy report without that history medved in. Lyons just two guys talking about movies on tv and they did it in a way. That was much more scripted and much less loose gene and roger did sheen's growing disenchantment with the war and the senseless brutality sees on both sides is a powerful dramatization of that device of europe. Platoon is a nightmare but one of the most haunting films of the year. Jeffrey i agree with you. This was a sensational film. I was frankly surprised at how much i liked. Medved in lions would stick with sneak previews for nearly a decade now. This gets a little confusing but during that time the other show gene and roger left behind in the eighties at the movies was also relaunched with new hosts. Rex reed and bill harris once again. The format was the same as jean. Ann rogers the fake movie theater setting the movie clips the and forth bickering here read in harris discussing full metal jacket but also of course platoon. It was the eighties like that first. Half of the movie much much more powerful when it went to war. I bought him more like a movie. I prefer platoon ruppel tuned. To me really was a movie and the thing that was wrong with it was that i predicted everything that would happen and it. It just seems so obvious. See all of that. John wayne movies look replacing. Gene and roger would have been an impossible simon for any critic but on the new at the movies. You never got the sense the host for having a conversation instead it felt like they were jamming a bunch of talking points together. It didn't have the same casual. Anything can happen. Feels when gene and roger were in the balcony. And it didn't help that. The new at the movies hosts weren't allowed to use cisco everts famous grading system. that's because gene. It was always a few steps ahead when it came to business. I convinced roger to have their two thumbs up verdict trademarks. This was a savvy move. It allowed cisco neighbor to bring the phrase with them to disney. Other critics might take their turns and gene and rogers old seats but none would be able to copy their catchphrase or match their authority. That didn't stop lots of people from trying by the mid eighties. Movie critics popping up all over on local newscasts on show biz. News shows even on tv. Many of these reviewers would supply positive quotes or blurbs to movie studios. Who'd use them billboards and newspaper ads. If you go through old movie listings from the eighties. you'll find all sorts of ridiculous raves. Like red heat is red. Hot or some kind of wonderful is to be clear. Many of these onscreen critics were actual film. Critics like writer and historian leonard maltin who reviewed movies for entertainment tonight. That show was full of eighties. Clinton gossip but multan manages sneaking all sorts of filner knowledge periods in nineteen eighty-five. Repin for your favorite film. Repertory company thanks to a los angeles based company. Called criterion king. Kong of the thirties has found his way onto laserdisc of the eighties. Mullen had credibility but some of the new on air movie critics for total amateurs which was supposedly part of their appeal. Gene and roger were sophisticated critics. Who broken through by presenting themselves as relatable semi average. Joe film lovers. So tv producers began hiring personalities who weren't actual critics but seemed relatable that explains sort of how yogi berra wound up reviewing films in a series of eighties. Beer commercials i score moonstruck triple then. There was nickelodeon rated k for kids by kids which featured teens are viewing movies. I should probably point out that. When i was twelve. I was insanely jealous of the kids on this show partly because they got to watch movies for free and then talk about him on tv but also because in one episode. They got the debate cisco and ebert here. The are reviewing project x not the party hearty teen film from a few years back but the eighties movie in which matthew broderick rescues a lab chimp opponent hard. Because you didn't have a good time at this. I've said it was pretty close. I enjoyed myself a little bit more than genius. This is not a great movie. I think we're all agreed that it's not a great now. What was it was a sweet hobie. This glut of sorta kinda movie critics on. Tv was partly a result of hollywood economics by the eighties. Studios were spending more of their time in money. Promoting their films on tv publicists. Were happy to supply. Footage from the latest blockbusters to any show that would take it free of charge. Movie review shows were easy to make an impossible to avoid and they had their own critics. Many of whom took out their frustrations gene and roger throughout their career together. Gene and roger had enjoyed a mostly cozy relationship with the press. They'd had some bad reviews. Of course one early village voice piece described them. As looking like quote to eels fighting underwater and the chicago reader had a column called cisco watch and which they catalogued factual mistakes gene made on air for the most part though the coverage they received in their first few years together have been positive but the arrival these cisco neighbor copycats inspired some critics and film scholars to reevaluate gene and rogers work in one thousand nine hundred. The la times published a lengthy essay describing. Their show is quote the mtv film criticism back. Then if you wanna make something sound bad you compared to mtv thanks to gene and roger the piece argued we were now stuck with a bunch of shallow quickly digestible talking heads. Some of the attacks are more direct another. La times article described everts commentary as pedantic and cisco's says superficial then in one thousand nine nine came a lengthy miami herald piece on the state of film criticism written by the paper's critic bill cosford. He describes his going ebert as the best movie viewers on. Tv then came a very big but they are also the principal reason that people think movie critics are buffoons. They dress badly and allow themselves to be cast a celebrity goof-balls their show is long since stopped being about what makes movies work. And what makes them fail in favor of being about their occasional choreographed disputes. The herald article clearly pissed off gene. He wrote an angry letter. To the editors the first thing he pointed out was that he was not a bad dresser then he defended his show and accused the writer being jealous of rogers pulitzer while.

"Have tried to operate. Keep this quiet. And keep it private until the Falcons could work out a trade post June one due to the salary cap savings, But today, Julio Jones told Shannon Shop he's out of there. And so was he told Shannon Sharpe, that message Became a little bit more public than I think. Both sides wanted it to be at that point time, But now it seems like a foregone conclusion that Julio Jones will be dealt. You going? Yeah, it's not. This is not something that happened overnight. This is something that has been Festering since this past season, so before, even even before marches, Schefty was saying in March, they were disgusted, and that was the conversation. It was already had. Julio Jones and his representatives and a lot of Falcons already knew that going into the 2021 season. That there's a possibility that they will be moving on from Julio Jones. Julio Jones approach the Falcons because he knew it's like I'm gonna get out in front of it and not let y'all get out in front of someone coming to your say. You know what? I already know what y'all getting ready to try to do so let me approach our Let y'all know that I'm willing to leave. But let's just do it a certain way and For whatever reason we were, too where we two weeks away from the June 1st. They probably would have had to move. Maybe even have something in place already. Now it's kind of sorry it's out, and it's out there now, but it also formed from a player's standpoint, It probably comes a little frustrating for Julio Jones basically sitting no but just to be sitting idle. A lot of time He's sitting there even though he knows you know you're getting traded. The anxiety. When is it going to happen? When is it going to happen? I'm tired of hearing the trade me as if They don't Care about me. They don't want me so bumped them. I'm out of here. That's kind of what goes through your mind when you sitting around even though you approached him in mourning, But I thought he was that even though you approached him in march, right? Your march April and May you're sitting there. You're thinking you'll get traded before the draft. You think you're gonna get traded doing the draft You don't really grasp now have a clear understanding of which, when it's going to happen, So your anxiety level you sitting everybody's asking you. People constantly running things on the news. You're gonna get trade here and you're sitting there. Like what am I gonna get training, man? Y'all need to trade me. He knows June 1st. He doesn't know that. You think he knows Just how much discussion he should know whether they like that with players, man. They don't want to keep hearing their name in the news about being traded every single time. I'm just being honest with you. My players that sounds like Hannibal would have. Mike Tannenbaum is going to join us right now. On the Goodyear hotline, Righty or front office insider with the NFL. Good morning, Mike Mike. I was wondering if with this controls if this getting out the way it's now out, does it compromise the Falcons and making a deal? Would you figure they probably have some teams that they know are interested in By the time you get the June 1st. They could probably get something done fairly quickly. Yeah, This surely hurts Atlanta but for slightly different reasons, guys, It's really hard to put the toothpaste back into the two when you say the Julio Jones Hey, we wanted to trade you, but we didn't get the values to come on back. That's what really hard conversation to have. If I'm Atlanta so now that everyone knows which, obviously there's been a lot of private conversation, but certainly it's out there publicly, I think would be really difficult for Atlanta to have Julio Jones come back, and therefore other teams knowing that I don't think Atlanta is dealing from a position of strength. I think they're dealing from a position of weakness. Speaking another player obviously been in the news for the since the draft and air Rogers He will you make of his comments about Jordan love when he spoke to Kitty Manning last night. I thought they were totally appropriate. It was very supportive. He was supporting a teammate much the way that he was in position. You know, a decade and a half ago with Brett Farve, and it's clear that and Roger struggles with the front office of Packers. He was very clear that he was happy with his teammates, his coaches, the fans, so I think what how Roger was trying to accomplish last night was for the first time publicly put it on the record where his disdain is Mike. You in a position is president of a team and you want to keep a Rogers Do you fired the general manager to appease and Rogers Okay. I hope it doesn't come to that. We have a strategy that we set maybe 2 to 3 months ago, which is Look, we made a mistake last year. We obviously did not handle that situation. Well, we should have told Ann Rogers to his face that Hey, there's a strong likelihood we're gonna draft a quarterback, and here's why He may not have liked that conversation, but hopefully that would have put them in a better position. So I would be working tirelessly. I would go see Aaron Rodgers. I would see the people around him his family, his agent, Whoever else is in that sphere of influence, and I would work really, really hard to try to solve it. And ultimately, I hope you want to come too. Try toe have to fire my GM in terms of like, Let's talk about your legacy Arab much more than any one person, Mike. It's not enough. That's enough. I understand. You're gonna work tirelessly understand? Gonna have a lot of communication, but I'm not comfortable with Brian gonna cuts being here. How do.

And Monday the NBA regular season will be done will set the stage for the play in tournament and the NBA playoffs. Don't miss it with me, Greenie starting 10 A.m., Eastern on ESPN Radio and ESPN plus Welcome back to another episode of the Adam Schefter Podcasts, and on Today's episode will be joined by the former NFL veteran quarterback Now my ESPN colleague and friend Matthew Hasselbeck, who knows a thing or two about the way the Packers situation works and might have some special insight into the Aaron Rodgers situation. Unfolding in Green Bay and his future or lack thereof in green bait. Last week, I popped onto the Dan Patrick Show to talk about the Anna Roger situation. And Dan asked a question asking me to trace back what happened on draft day and the process leading up to ESPN releasing the story on our Rogers. Well, that actually was the first day that I was scheduled to play golf in. Ah, year, one full year and I don't play golf very often, but a few times year it's nice to go out in front was taking me out. And so I do. Dan Patrick, a 10:25 a.m. Eastern, go to play 18 holes with my friend and we were three holes in having a nice, enjoyable day. When I got a text from my boss, Seth Markman. That my name was trending on Twitter, which is never a good sign, And initially I was confused as to why my name could or would be trending, But I guess it came to my attention. As many critics have pointed out that they felt that What their take away on that interview was it was that I intentionally held the story for draft day, which I could tell you was unequivocally 100. Percent wrong. I did not go to Cleveland thinking, boy. I got this Aaron Rodgers story in my back pocket, and I'm gonna drop it on draft day. Baloney never happened. Number one number two. The complaint was that Didn't have sources because I said during that interview that there was an accumulation of information which there was over months. Over a long period of time that I just kept picking up. And so That morning. Made the decision. You know what There were reports that the 40 Niners had reached out to the Packers about Ann Rogers and I said, This isn't gonna hold up and while I didn't go into all the micro details With Dan. Patrick and I made the decision that I better get on this Aaron Rodgers story that morning with that information, and it just felt relevant, of course, at that point You reached out to not one person, not two people. Trip, but multiple people. Multiple people to make sure But the situation has not changed is still unfolding, is updated. Are there additional details that I might add? All of which happened? And if anybody needs to verify this, they can ask my boss set Markman instead of reading headlines on Twitter and even Packers fans to the station. Adam Schefter had no sources for this story. People. Let's be honest. No sources for this story. Are we serious? We think that that morning I just woke up and said, You know what? I'm gonna load this and Roger story that I've heard about for months of time. I didn't go into how the sausage is made with Dan Patrick in death, because, frankly, I never expected that it would take on a life of its own, where people were making Incorrect judgments. Assessments off how I did my job. I could tell you how I did my job. I did my job the same way. I've tried to do my job for 31 years in journalism school. They teach you If your mother tells you she loves you check it out. Do you think I made the decision that day to say I'm in a low this Amerada story premeditated by the way to sabotage draft a false that I didn't call around again that morning. Correct. In fact, it took me a few hours to get that information which didn't come in the final bits of informations and verifications. Until Three. Five or so and we can prove that because why didn't we open NFL live at three o'clock if I had all the information that I wanted That's what we were trying to do. You'll notice that I came out of the end of the segment and said, We'll have breaking news after the segment because the last piece of information that I needed I just come in, and so we opened the B block at about 3 15 eastern and if alive With the animal Roger Story that I was putting together for the rest of the morning. Left out those little details about doing that additional reporting that morning that day on top The accumulation of information. That had come in for the better part of weeks and months. Which is why I didn't address that in Dan Patrick. I inadvertently left out that little detail that when I decided to go with the and Roger story that of course, I was going to go to other people to verify it. Check it out. Make sure was up to date. Make sure the information was still accurate. So number one. There.

Strong cheese at me left and right, as if I was a rat or a mouse. I thought we'd be able to get Courtside seats, getting mobbed at Marquette basketball. Get the V I P treatment go down the slide. And the Brewers Stadium. Maybe make a half court shot in a bucks game, then get to ribbon. In a limo right to Lambeau Field and scream. Donna, Donna and I are now gonna go pack go. It's what I thought was gonna happen. I guess my expectation should be lowered just a little bit. And we also give you the John Kuhn audio last night and you know that's being perceived. Finally, some positivity with the iron Roger situation. So we wanted a viral rant against the MBA. We defended Yannis onto the coop. Bo and Peter Fagan personally called the show the night when you guys re sign Yonas and he said, Zach, You're so positive. Zach. We want to thank you, and we appreciate all your support. I said, I'm just doing my job. Do what I say. Then. Everything's being negative about Ann Rogers. We gave you something positive. Tell me if I go to Wisconsin? Everyone just gonna leave me alone. Isn't that a great theory? By the way, Aaron Rodgers is too big for Green Bay. He wants out because he's not getting a bunch of requests. When he's sitting down at the dinner table you would think at Rogers doesn't want anyone coming up to him when he's down at the dinner table, and I don't know some restaurant. In Wisconsin. And that I Roger get too big for Wisconsin when he's right around the back of a pickup truck chugging beers with some bud light that seems like Wisconsin to may. Jamison on Twitter. Then he has to be a questionnaire, Jamison Question. If you say me, doesn't that mean personally Do you have to say me personally? So I guess I said sometimes throughout the show. Hey, if you wanna ask me personally, and this would all say to Jamison, as I found out, Jamison does own a cookie business. Go eat a cookie. All right? I don't like grammar police, right? There's some times where I'll say something and people go all you're saying it wrong. Like when I say Toronto people go. "Sean McVey. Everything's on the table after Saturday's lost to the Packers, McVeigh said about his starting quarterback Jared Goff, quote. He's our quarterback right now and then. Here's what Nick? They said yesterday. What I'm evaluating is everything that we do, Kevin that includes the quarterback position, but that includes everything, and so that's where we're at. And I think it's important for like I was kind of saying to be able to take a step back. Get your breath, be able to look at everything that the season encompassed and figure out the best way to create the most competitive situations at all spots on what we can do to continue to take steps in the right direction. That's not exclusive to the quarterback. But Um, you know, it's all encompassing to our entire roster before key. We talk about the Rams offense, specifically the relationship between McVeigh and golf and what might come next. We should mention the Rams. Everything's on the table. So McVeigh is gonna have to hire a new defensive coordinator. The Chargers hired Brandon Staley to be their next head coach. He was this past season, the Rams D. C. Okay, So Saturday. It's He's our quarterback right now. 24 hours later, everything's on the table. What do we make of this? I think everything was always on the table. He's a quarterback for right now, this game that we're ready to play. He's our quarterback. But it's always been on the table. These conversations We're going on throughout the course of the season. I'm sure and private settings between Les Snead As well as Chamakh Bay and whoever else gets involved in making up their roster because I'm assuming that most of the guaranteed money on Jared Golfs extension has probably been absorbed by now, so there's some flexibility and leeway. Get out of it at this point in time, if they choose to do so, or maybe they want to light a fire underneath him. I mean, it's amazing the seat of the guy just let a team to a Super Bowl two years ago, and then all of a sudden now he may be possibly being looked at as being replaced, and I don't know if that's gonna happen. Shawn's got a look at everything along with less need throughout the offseason to see what's available to them, not only at the quarterback position but other positions that they need to take a look at No que when when I look at Jared Goff. I said, God, that your you said this multiple times. We've been talking about this all year. You're waiting for him to take that next to leap to be somewhat of a superstar. And granted. I give him a lot of credit for coming back off that thumb surgery. Did he play a phenomenal game? No, I think you know John Walford doesn't get hurt. He's probably in that scenario. Chamakh make kind of made that apparent before he got injured. He was taken out of the game, but it still precarious situation. I think you just you let the Let the quarterback go out next year. You make it open competition to a degree. You say if you want to go take it. I saw it balls down. As I always say. It's gum ball down to the money. I don't care if it's Carson went to jail and hurts. I don't get it carefully. John Walford and our gear golf. What are the numbers? What? What does the numbers look like? In terms of guaranteed money? Jair Golf is more than capable of being an NFL quarterback. He's not a bum, but he hasn't Giving you the next step. And when you look at the playoff situation against Green Bay, he was overmatched going up against Aaron Rodgers if there's a duel Their quarterback versus quarterback. He was way over mad. Zoom in it just, you know. He wasn't gonna be able to duplicate with Ann Rogers. No matter on any day. Let me just ask you both this question because you guys have both obviously played with the threshold of pain into keys point. The golf extension was for four years $134 million at the time. It actually did make him the highest paid quarterback in the NFL. But his key has said whoever is up next we'll just take that mantle. But four years 1 34 the only thing I want to Question here and you know you guys could take us inside the mind of a pro athlete. I mean, he was out there to your point played in the Super Bowl and then had to play in this postseason a dozen days after injuring the thumb on his throwing hand at the quarterback position. I mean, doesn't that factory in somehow I'm not gonna get optimal Jared Goff. If he's got a banged up thumb on his throwing well, I don't think you did the decisions that they would make going forward. Is predicated on the way that he played in the playoffs. Okay, I think it's gonna be over the body of work or the natural look over the course of two seasons, right? I mean, and I just gonna sail guy came back two weeks later where he didn't play. Well, we hate him. Oh, I hate him. Because then we six. Look what he did early we ate. Look what I did. I mean, sure, Madrid has came out of comments throughout the course of the season where he said, Look, you know Jared Goff needs to be better or quarterback needs to be better. I think it's pretty known what his expectations are. No from the standard level of success with what he wants from his QB. The question is committed this offseason. Can Jared golf and recover from miss some surgery and play at a high level enough that will suit that for what Chama Vague wants his team to accomplish in the great thing about you've got guys like Aaron Rodgers and Rogers is on his way to getting back to the Super Bowl for the second time in his career. This is the first time From a playoff standpoint that Aaron Rodgers has had home field advantage throughout the playoffs. He's hosting a home game. I'm sure the crowd will be increased. You gotta look at what they did from an officer standpoint, whether it was with Adam's whether it was Aaron Jones run the ball, but defensively, they stepped up to the plate. Mean they sacked gear Golf multiple times. Kenny Clarke, I think had three sacks. Big defensive tackle out of U C L A paid a bunch of money to this offseason. So when you look at what Green Bay has been able to do Eyes is going to be a great matchup against Tom Brady. You've got I wouldn't call them both. I guess you could call them both old heads going up against each other, right? Even though Brady's a little bit older than a Rogers both from the same area up there in the Bay Area in California, that will be a story line. I'm sure you'll dive into somewhere along the way, Zubin. Indeed, indeed, we have Rodgers know Cal. We have Brady. No. Cal Brady at 43. I think Rogers is from Chico Brady's from San Matteo Rogers is 37. The reason that Rogers says he can continue to play into his forties is after a while, he watched Tom Brady do a reminder tune into my Greenberg show. "Good afternoon, Wisconsin. Welcome to the show so very glad to have you with us. A lot of stuff on today's program. We've got some serious stuff some policy matters to talk about. And then as we get closer to three o'clock what kind of lighting it up Some interesting takes a swell. Yes, we start off the program. I kind of sort of a sad note of Joanne Rogers, who was the wife of Fred Rogers of Mister Rogersneighborhood. He passed away in 2003. I believe Due to some stomach cancer. She was a loving wife who actually really kept his memory alive. Not that you need that much help in keeping Mr Rogers memory alive, But she just recently passed away just the other day at the age of 92. She was she did some voices on the program. She played a couple characters and things like that. But mostly again, she just she was. I think, over the course of the last, you know, decade or two. I mean, she was one who was kind of that the gatekeeper for for Fred Rogers, and she was the memory keeper and things like that and provided some of that inspiration. Mr. Rogers has had a bit of a renaissance. Over the course of the last couple years. There's there's the documentary that came out. Won't you be my neighbor and 2018? And then she was the one who actually signed off on allowing Tom Hanks to portray her husband in the movie that came out a beautiful day in the neighborhood back in 2019, and she was one of the consultants on the set to make sure that they got everything right. So Julie Ann Rogers, who was a wonderful woman in her own right, and really instrumental, I think in Hoping car about all the great things that the Mister Rogers program did passes away at the age of 92, Okay? Joe Biden takes over. Next Wednesday, and he's already in the process of rolling out some of his programs. And I love some of this in, never let a good crisis go to waste. So he's announced he wants In economic relief program. Now this is on top of the economic relief program that was already approved by by Congress, and there's a number of elements of it. He's putting the price tag. Almost $2 trillion, and he says it's going to be paid for largely by borrowing. You know, to the extent that the government has to come up with money to do this we are. We're going to borrow the money. We're going to increase the national debt. Right? There's a number of aspects of this program and we're gonna talk about a couple of them. One of them is that he wants to increase the stimulus payments. If you qualify for stimulus payments, you've probably already gotten 600 bucks in your checking account. He wants to give you an extra $1400. And he's already getting heat from the left. AOC, for example, saying, What do you mean? You're gonna get $1400? You promised 2000. And, of course, the 14 hundreds on top of the $600 that people already got equal in 2000. She's saying No, it should be. It should be $2000 on top of the 600. He wants unemployment insurance to be supplemented a next Ra $400 a week and he wants that to be continued. Through the end of September. We'll talk about that in a minute. But one of the things that he wants is part of this Cove in relief package he wants to increase. The federal minimum wage to $15 an hour now, right now that the federal minimum wage has been stuck it like $7.25 an hour. A number of states, including Wisconsin have higher minimum wages. The net and the way the law works is if you do business in a particular state. It's it's whichever is higher if the federal minimum wage is higher than state minimum wage than the federal minimum wage applies and vice versa. In most cases, state minimum wages are higher than that $7.25 an hour would Biden wants to do is jack up the federal minimum wage to $15 an hour? He also wants to get rid off what they call the tipped exception and what that means is for restaurants. For example, restaurants are largely exempt from the minimum wage if the employees are tipped Because in many cases we've talked about this the fact that that employees if you're good, you know you're you're making more than $15 an hour based on on tips. Biden also wants to eliminate the tipped minimum. Eliminate the exception so employees would have to make if you're a server, for example, you you now you'd be guaranteed 15 bucks an hour. How that all plays out with regard to doing away with tips. That's a whole nother story. The estimate is that by increasing the federal minimum wage to $15 an hour Even the bite administration acknowledges that at least 1.3 million people who would otherwise be working. Are going to lose their jobs because employers are going to have to cut back so I mean, they acknowledge it's going to be at least 1.3 million. My guess it's going to be a lot higher than that. Let's see this up 85561616 20 that is the AC unit mortgage. Talk and text line. I think to me it's interesting that on the one hand we are looking at a Nikon Ammi. It has been devastated. By that the pandemic businesses closing right and left, and I'm not talking about just small businesses. I'm talking about medium size businesses. I'm talking about large businesses, businesses closing right and left people, millions and millions of people being thrown out of work because their employers You can't make a go of it. And now we're going to turn around and say OK, all you employers, If you're still in business, we're going to expect you to increase the salaries of people to 15 bucks, A Knauer and as we've talked about before, But let's understand this. There is a trickle up effect..

"So if you're on hold, stay there. And we will get phone calls in a little bit later on. We are, in fact, joined by a wide receiver for the Packers coming off a game, where he had two receptions for 53 yards and two TDs in Thursday's one over San Francisco. 18 receptions on the year, three touchdowns over 300 yards. He is the founder of the Scat Ling receiver Academy. He was the 174th pick overall in 2018 out of South Florida, Green Bay six and two on the year. Hosting Jacksonville on Sunday. Mark Kwehz, Valdas Scant ling is my guest. Mark Wehz. Good to have you back? How are you? Are you good? Good. Listen, before we get into the season overall and again this weekend, can you take me back for a minute to Thursday night against 40? Niners? Yeah, that 52 yard TD reception in the second quarter man really was a thing of beauty. Can you take me through the play? Exactly? What did you see? Yes. So on that play, there's um kind of just like, forget the right look. I'm not going to be ableto get behind the safety then. Actually, the safety that just came in that was playing the game. I get the previous AP had When I went down to injury, the previous play before So we came back in after the after the two minute warning come out. And we want to take their shot down the field. We've got the perfect look. And I was able to get behind the safety and scored. So help me with this. The story goes that in the huddle before that play, Aaron Rodgers said. You quote you want to play and you did, Rogers said afterwards, quote went back into the huddle. Figured I was throwing him a touchdown. And sure enough, I did. And quote is that pretty much how that went down And did you know you were going to score on that play the moment that was called? Yeah, man. I knew I was going to get the ball. He kind of just like you said. We're talking about a few different places on the sideline and I will be like when we want to come out with And and looked at me. It was like he liked to play call, and I was, I guess. And his right and let the huddle and sure enough both in there. I mean, you make it sound pretty easy when I know nothing is But then again, you and Erin make those deep All seems so easy and so simple when obviously they aren't. So how much work goes into those plays that how much chemistry to the two of you have on the field right now? I mean, you know you got a quarterback like an arrives. You can't react for a better signal. Call it better boat or he's the best in the NFL. He's been like that for a very long time. So he makes it pretty easy when you have your job and get open and catch the ball. Marquis Valdas Scant. Ling is joining us. You know the thing about that When you look at the work that you guys all do in the red zone in the third quarter, you had that one yard TD reception. He's now thrown 18 touchdowns and he's got zero. I aunties in the red Zone this year. So what about that area of the field? How would you describe how you and the other receivers work with him in the Red Zone? No, It's just a combination of everything. Freshmen Get down in the red zone. No, it's never pretty down in the red zone when those are like tighter it a lot more grabbing. And so being able to have a quarterback that could really take care of the ball. Um and you guys in the right position to make plays with no offense came And and things of that nature, You know, you can't really Came to complain. We've got 18 touchdowns and no interceptions. Things pretty good ratio that anybody who actually ratio that good thinking 18 and a credit to him. Sorry. Interrupt. In 18 to 0 TD to pick ratio in the red zone is a pretty good ratio. Now, on top of that, you got Davante Adams. Of course, you put him in the mix when he's going off the way that he did. And you're going off the way you did. What is the ceiling on this offense and how dangerous is it Overall? You know, I think stealing is there is not and not even with me. And obviously device has the best receiver in the NFL, and it's not even close. I've been saying that for Rabbit. I got a lead. And that's a tough thing to say that a guy's better than me at my position, But no, not even if that means I was that's our, you know, crazy, but you know, just the way he goes about his business every single day. You wouldn't know a better leader. No better bet having the room to show you the ropes Better got to learn from and then just put off Since you know any given game, it could be somebody new. You know, it just always. We got a great running back. Great quarterback. Great wide receivers. Great backup running back like great tight end So the list goes on and on. And I think that you know, just With so many talented guys on our side of the ball Now we could pretty much do anything we want on no long brother. Same page Mark Wes Valdas scowling, joining us and they keep you on that one point. I love that at some first time. I've heard you say that. But to say that Devon is the best receiver in the league, and it's not even close. And it's hard for you to admit that because you never want to miss somebody's better than you. Like you talked about his approach to his work ethic. But what's the great separation? Like what separates him from everybody else at that position. You know, I think he's just He's a unique talent because he's not the fastest. He's not. The strong is not the quickest. But I think that he uses his strength. To know his advantage over over anybody else. Um, you know the things that he could do, You know, a lot of damage and the separation that he can create, you know, and his route on the way he could move his body. I think that you know, a lot of people don't notice. They just see the dampers are catching the football. But being a receiver you get really appreciate the art that he can do from The largest committed into the middle of his route to the top of his route. Catching the football Just a separation and create you know is this is truly an art used to watch him, you know, run routes, you know, every single day. I know it. I said I couldn't actually, but I've got to learn from, you know, Speaking of which, when you talk about running and you talk about the art your position, coach Jason Vrabel has talked about how you've taken your route, running to a new level to the point where it's not just enough for you to beat a guy in practice. You're running the route to the exact yard and you're beating your guy. How viable has that attention to detail been for you this year? You know, I think it's just the you know, just to the growth of my You know, my play over the years could mean coming out of college. You know that No guy that could, you know, run fast on do a lot of different things. Being able to hone in on the small details is what's gonna you know, get you to be, you know, greatness league and I think that having code Grable no, just being ableto, you know. Focus in on that all training camp. Um and Throughout the year. And, you know, having a quarterback like Ann Rogers, who Wants things done a certain way, and you know, with those two things, you know, I think that it worked out for me. Marquis Valdas Scantlin joining us for a few more moments when you look at that game against the 40 Niners last week that was something of a rematch in the NFC championship game. And then in some way really wasn't because so much has changed since then. They're not the same team because they're pretty banged up. But what about this Packers team? How does this team compared to the one? They went to the NFC Championship game last year? For instance, Does it feel like you're you're even better this year than you were that?.

"Right now the MVP of the league. If you're going to make the argument for him, here's how you make it. He hasn't had Davante Adams. And look who he's thrown into. Now. Yeah, he does have Aaron Jones. But if you want to, and I think it's a two team or a two player race right now, it's Rodgers and Wilson and I've been leading the charge before the season even started for Russell Wilson. The way you make that argument for on Rogers is just who is he throwing the football too? Right now? Was at least Ross says. Dickie Metcalfe and Tyler Lockett, who Are not the greatest wide receivers in the league, but they're in the top three top four conversation of receiving duos when you look at all the receiving does in the National Football League. Side probably still go. Russell Wilson. Up until last night. I would have said yet Ross Ross Ross, look out. He's just being so dangerous on the field and and look what he's doing Last night, though, I think Ann Rogers jumped right into that conversation. And not that you forgot how good he was. But the last year with the stats not being as great and then the injury before that. I think some people really started to doubt Aaron Rodgers and after last night If they lose this year. I think it's clear it's not gonna be because of his fault. I really do believe that so who's the M V P to the first four games of the National Football League season? That's the poll question. Today. You could find it at secular that CBS Sports radio early returns right now. 6.7% say other 22.7% say. Josh Allen 22.7% also say Aaron Rodgers and then have 48%. You have Russell Wilson and the lead and I would still go Russell Wilson, but Aaron Rodgers is going to make this a really fun race all throughout the season. Our only a quarter of the way through got three more quarters to go. So you never know who could distance himself from that group of three or who could enter.

"Up tonight, starting momentarily up against the Atlanta Falcons won't have Davante Adams. This is Ann Rogers talking about the team's undefeated start to this year plan. However, I like playing. There were times last couple years where you know we struggle as a whole, I think in person Never lost confidence. And you know, I feel really good about about where we're at you. It's a plant, so that's just what we're looking at Things. I love the way that Rogers has been handling this season. I think this game's actually I don't know about you trace. I think this game tonight against the Falcon is gonna be a lot closer than what people think. I will not pick the Falcons for the rest of the season. I just can't trust them anymore. But I think that this is going to be a high scoring close game. How about yourself? I'll take the Packers to win, though. I am with you lot of points here. I'm taking the Packers at home to win this IV with no devotes Adams You saw last week good that Packers offense was, but Falcons defense can't be trusted on with Theo Packers. Carson once got a victory last night. It was a struggle, but when you don't have a win on the season, you will take it once. Made a big throw two Chavis, Fulghum. I think that's how you say last night when he caught that touchdown. I said, Who the heck is that? Is Carson one, saying he's not shocked by that touchdown catch by Travis even though the rest of the world Wass I've seen him with this team for a while now going up against our defense on Scout team and What he does to our defence. So you know, watching him to see what he's capable of doing. And I was just proud of him for coming out here tonight, making the place when asked When you watch the Eagles last night, and I know their entire offensive line was just banged up and they were down to second. And third deep on the roster. That offensive.

"About things slightly behind that? Is it in Green Bay with drafting Jordan love and everybody thought we think wide receiver. Balls fell there. Scant, Ling was Are there there there stepping it up right now and a Ron was facing and Green Bay who I think a lot of people probably take a step back this year. Looks right on point. I think that's AH feel good story itself. What do you think? But then I think it's an excellent story, and Shelby appreciate the kind words and the phone calls. Here's all I'll say about Rogers. That could have got very toxic now going into this season. I thought they were going to win the division something, though, when I was trying to figure out and Minnesota's off to a terrible start onto and they just lost the Anthony Bar for the season, and Kirk Cousins was terrible yesterday. When I was trying to figure out what was the difference, though, and what was going to decide Packers and the Vikings something that really stuck out to me. Was how Rogers has handled the Jordan love situation because if he came in if he patted about it now he was honest to some degree is well. What he did, though, was he kind of nip all the distractions right in the bud. That's what he did. He did an honest interview as honest as he could be with Kyle Brandt. He answered questions about it from the start, and he didn't let this storyline linger. Now we'll come back up because eventually the next 34 years they're gonna have to move on from him. You would think when you take Jordan love in the first round and you trade up to get him. And the Packers by doing that they started to start the time clock on the end of Ann Rogers in Green Bay the way he handled that, though he didn't allow this story to get out of line. And through two weeks to see and dominate week one and then play well the other day, even though they were down early to the Lions, and then they came back in the line. Surprise, surprise, choked the way another lead this time. You see if you were alliance, then you knew that this was coming up against the bears. You thought you would be able to probably slammed the door shut and it got late into the fourth this one, The Packers were able to establish a lead right at the end of the first half. I am impressed with what I've seen out of Rogers. What I'm saying I am. And I know we take him for granted. He's developing a nice relationship. Lazar who I know he loves going backto last year, Marcus Valdas Scantlin almost made that catch down the right sideline couldn't get a foot in But he's been a good player for them. I still question of Green Bay could win a Super Bowl this year because I don't love the defense. I don't love the second options. Rogers, though he's on a mission. And when you look at the NSC going into the I thought it was the bucks The Saints The 40, Niners and the Seahawks and after two weeks 40 Niners, they're dealing with the bevy of injuries. Bucks. We haven't seen the full product yet. I'm still believer in them. Saints just lost Michael Thomas. He'll come back, though, and Seattle's been as good as advertised. So you try to see who's going to be that next team to emerge. No. One in the NFC East. Then if he stinks If you look at the rest of the NFC North It's just Green Bay. In the South. It's the two teams like we mentioned in the NFC West Tennessee What's been the best division in football, not just me understand? Best division in football. They have one loss and the long lost came in division Rams to at home. Cardinals to unknown Seahawks to a new home and then you have the 40 Niners at one on one and I got to tell you the Rams are Super Bowl team after two weeks now, Um, I got to tell you that The Cardinals are Super Bowl team, even though they could start the 50 with their opponents would have the next few games. I think they got Detroit They got the Panthers and they got the Jets so they should start five other cardinals, but they're not a super old team. So if Green Bay who wasn't great last year and got Tennessee Championship game, if you keep on getting Rogers, Adams and Jones playing at the level they have been to the first two weeks. Maybe That's a team that could get too, Sir. But I'm not ready to go there yet that they will It's very telling, though, and what this season could have been? And maybe if it would've got ugly with all the distractions, Rogers, though he kind of eliminated that storyline very early. He has now we'll come back up again. He's done a nice job. They'll handling that distraction. It probably does help that early on in his career, he had to replace Brett Farve idiot to deal with that draft pick and having a sit for a few years, So he gets this And I think he's handled it in a pretty damn nice shop. He is. It can't be easy because I'm sure is not happy with some that organization. He's not letting it affect in, though. And Roger's done a nice shot open up the year to know..

"To a really, really good start, but I mean really good start. They are a very talented team because they have Hall of Fame. Quarterback. He's amazing Aaron Rodgers drop the past the Diamante. Adam's down the right sideline the other day. That was literally just like he walked up and handed it to him. Incredible. But yet last April when the draft was going on in the midst of the shutdown in the pandemic and everything else everyone said, Don't do the draft. Now. You can't do the draft. We got a pandemic. NFL said No. We can do the draft and we'll do it virtually and will be great. Sure, And they did. And then the stunning news came. We have a trade. The Green Bay Packers have traded for their whatever pick 28. I think it was 27. They select Jordan Love quarterback Utah State and everyone went. Are you kidding? You need another receiver for Aaron. You need another old lineman. You've got to get something for him. He was not thrilled that they did to him. What his selection did the Brett Farve many years ago. The Packers need a wide receiver like a hungry man needs a sandwich. And not just this past offseason fora while he's he's really deserved better as a quarterback like he's your best asset supply of whatever he needs. Well. This is Trent Dilfer, The Superbowl winning quarterback on the Ryan Rhys Illo podcast. The most iron largest pissed him off. Don't for don't or sugar on him. I mean, he is He's a guy. We have to be a psychologist on. I think the love drafting. I think how you coach, I think it's all very strategic. I would have done the same thing and people would have hated me and well, I'll do the same thing to my players. I coach If I think I could do something to get great instead of somebody I'm going to do it, and I think that's exactly what the Packers did You played out longer that successful you that means it's on the wall. It gets boring. It gets non you could become. That's complacent. So what? I'm looking for you to become complacent, and Aaron will never admit he's complacent would probably be best off of this interview. But the bottom line is when you light a fire is you know what That's what you're gonna get, and I wouldn't stop. I mean, someone go talks Joe Montana and Steve Young about how the walls coached them when they're winning VPs and multiple Super Bowls is never enough. Always fine. Why do you think Steve Young came to the Niners fast himself that question when Joe Montana's at the top of his career because you have to do things like this to continue a pull greatness out of great So when you hear that I don't agree with that again. He won a Super Bowl. I never will. I never been to a Super Bowl. I just don't believe that an NFL team is drafting a player in the first round, squandering the capital. That is a first round simply to piss off one of the 10 greatest quarterbacks to ever play the game. You don't do it for that reason, but I ask you, this, Jeff You noticed that Jordan Love was an active on Monday on Sunday. I mean, so if Rogers gets heard they have some emergency plan. I'm sure but the guy that you want to be eventually the air parents wasn't even active on Sunday. It's I know you're saying camp. I think, though there's I think I think it's a 12 punch. They loved what they saw in Jordan Love and they also last season. You are not even last season like for the last couple seasons. You know, there's been a lot of talk about Aaron Rodgers, how he will throw the ball away, You know, to avoid like plays that he didn't like when Michael Carter was the head coach like I think Initially when I heard this, I was like, you know what? But I think that's well thought out, and it makes a little more sense because we were all kind of like, really. You're going to traffic Jordan love when you have they have in Roger's signed to a monster contract. We've kind of talked about here in Chicago, because once they draft Jordan love, we started batting around the idea of could the Bears actually go after? And Rogers is that even a possibility? Would the Packers trade within the division like what happened with farm although he had to go to the Jets for a year vendor minutes Exactly, but Like the way Dilfer laid this out like he gave you the perfect example. Bill Walsh. What you know Before Bill Belichick existed. Bill Walsh was long considered the genius of football coaches. You know what I mean? And what he did to motivate Joe Montana, who before Tom Brady was considered the greatest quarterback of all time? I think there's some validity to what Dilfer laid out there well, Look at from the standpoint, Ted Thompson and Gooden cunts. Both have not done the job as Faras supplying the type of talent around Aaron Rodgers like It's one thing, dear. After years, it's one thing. Look at Adams and say, Boy, that's a difference. Making gun. He Waas. He was outstanding is the Vikings and he's a a operational on receiver in the league. But my point is, is that you know if you're trying to motivate Aaron Rodgers out there, he needs motivation. He's a guy here. That's arrogant. The guy believes that he's a cat's ass. The guy believes that you know, we get the press conferences the cat's ass way. Welcome, pal. Thank you. So you get a pat on the head about, you know, you do that to me. No. The point is, though, that he believes that he's that he's the best. Just ask him, right. He's that guy, But you gotta have that kind of confidence. So I totally understand that. But you know for the Packers to underachieve, underachieving relative terms. Yeah, the more likely they're going to be the division champions. Yeah, we're likely to get in the playoffs. But when you've seen the Packers Jeff over the last like 5 10 years is that Aaron Rodgers that can't get the job against San Francisco. It's their defense, and it's also their offense, Turtle ing We saw them twice against Francisco last year, right playoffs and regular season Packers were blown completely off the field like they weren't even there. A team that's good enough to beat the North is what this is What's going to be the I think the resume for Ann Rogers. You can beat the bears. You could meet the line to beat the Vikings but was taken when you're taking on the upper echelon. The NFC, you fail, you fail. So you're the champion the NFC North. But you're not the champion of the NFC because when Sam just goes out there, they beat the Packers like they weren't even on the field. And so and so if you're trying to get better, you gotta hand said How come you only through seven passes with Jimmy? Because we were running the ball right down their throats. Why would I change it right..

"I think I'd go with the Big Four. Yes, I mean, that's like the only guarantee of these four of a championship. Don't you think the biggest guarantee is if LeBron Wade Yes. Like the rest, Mahomes. It could be great here. I think it would be great here. But does that mean the Bears would have a Super Bowl? If Derek never gets hurt? What does that mean? I mean, It's It's great, and it's not a sports tragedy anymore, but they're still debating the Bulls would have ever want course. And then the Cubs could have blown in the World Series. The guarantees guarantees the LeBron Wade Bosch combo. That's a multiple title team. Yes, like with Rose and Noah on the roster. I think not, Rose might still get hurt, but even still Even if you just add Noah to the toe bash LeBron Wade. That's probably three times got to do the hard work, but that's what know it, and that's that's what No, I had to do it and Taj was still under rookie deal so he would have been on that team. Somebody had to be the worker bee. It would've been You like Joe Kim know those guys were perfect compliments to what LeBron Wade and Bosh would've done. And then you wonder if If LeBron even considers leaving at that point, they've won three or four times. That would have been a dynasty here. Yeah, I think that's the one you got to go with the Holmes, one of those silly for 10% on lease to the LeBron one. It's the LeBron haters. That's why people hate LeBron Lost It finished in last place. Last place 10.1%. Think about that. That's crazy. I'd rather finish in last place than ever win with LeBron James. Do Tweet that to me. These guys, I don't get that I don't either. I'd rather finish in last then win with LeBron Dumb Could that be same people are going to say about Ann Rogers when he comes in two years. I don't want that Rogers guy in that discount double Jack. My God, I'll take around rather of Robiskie. What's on the show today, Boys who is going to be the best player in in Chicago baseball this year? Who is going to be the most impactful? Let's use that word. Louise Roe, Better player. A lawyer? Yes. Over in Kenya, Pitkin, a starting pitcher. In that in only a 60 game season. Looking at, like, 11 or 12 starts in all likelihood makes it even more 11 or 12 starts, And we don't even know what often they're going to go more than five years. If they're five. What if I'm like Because you have this? The 60 man roster that you can play around with. And you know you have. If you're the white sacks, you've got seven or eight guys who could theoretically be starters. So are you going to a lot of piggybacking? Ifyou're the white sacks where You know, we talked to Lucas Giolito yesterday, he said he's ready for three innings. But like, Are you gonna ask him to go more than six at any point this year? Not until I told him I wouldn't think so. Right? Ian Happ is my answer. Look at you. That's why I think it's going to be the best player. I mean, I like to me. I still think the best player is Kris Bryant. But I could say it's like most impactful like you know how this this opens it up for a lot of people to just be hot over 60 games like former could be that true. It could be Louise Robert. It could it could be. It could be the old Moncada could be the best baseball player in could be a breakthrough. Know that. I mean, what do you mean? No of Ray? You could go and hit a bunch of bombs? Yeah, could and hit for average. We've seen that over a span. Yeah, Well, you know, Carmenere were triple slash line, guys, So R B eyes are not going to impress facility like Jose Reyes. You know, he might have 50 Arby's in 60 games. Fine. Jose is fine. He's a good offensive play is, but I mean, you know S so I'll give you my list coming up. If you want to weigh in on the poll question that just went final, still 3123323776 If you're a bear season ticket holder, and you got that letter yesterday, allowing you to opt out. Would you do that immediately, Or do you wanna wait and see And if you could go to a game, or would you just want your money back and and knowing that that's in your pocket? What is Cuddy's motivation for for doing all this? Is he after a show or Ah, gig on Fox, or is he just bored Because he's got nothing better to do? He looks very masculine. I'll give him that. And you look handsome in those video. Barbara Yeah, I mean, he does very, very masculine. And I guess cynical Marlboro Man. It's a jerk face edge mark when he was talking about the night vision goggles and the one video as Alex that was Buffalo Bill Williams. I got it. When I see night vision these days put that thing I like. It was very funny. And so then three will talk. Tio Dan police second. We want to hear from you in 332377 Our boys have a great show. Why don't you go next? We'll see everybody tomorrow. Don't let the door hit you where the Good Lord has political status. Thanks to people like that. I don't think that's whack. I think that's under.

"Monday evening, It's J. J. Johnson Genske. Which even your company right here on the fan, get aborted. 877 37 66 66 I like the idea the Yankees Open up with the Nationals. I think that is so fun, Intriguing, Cool way to start off your year. Where you have to, most likely of the best pitchers in all baseball going at it. Garrett Cole for the Yankees shares or Strasbourg and Scherzer has been their guy on opening day Act ink over the last couple years. Put you wonder Strasbourg, the lifelong National Strasbourg, the World Series MVP that I give him the nod. I don't know. I don't care. You give me either one of those pictures against Cole. That's the night game. That's it. Get your popcorn ready to have a moment for me. But it has had me thinking about the Mets in okay. We have her do the Mets would open up with? I guess those details are going to come out in the days ahead. The juiciest match up to me. Would be the Mets in the brakes. Because the Braves and its young hi, fine team. They've won the division the last two years New York market and let's call it is the Braves have had the Mets number I mean they had the most number last year. Remember, the Mets had all sorts of momentum in the month of August. They all point great. Big Siri's win over the Indians. I remember I was out in California. And it was great because I was Basically, they're at the beach. Walking around getting some sun or even a Disneyland one day and I'm like monitoring my phone seeing how the mess of doing and I had the Yankees on at night. It was great. It was great. I enjoy being out on the West Coast, maybe on the left. Maybe in retirement. Who knows? Which is a ways away the warrant. I got at least I got at least another 30 years already on me. I think that's fair. 32 right now, at least another 30 years a radio and may God willing The big man upstairs is listening. Hopefully he'll cooperate, but Mets words hot as anybody and employed the Braves that weekend late August. And that basically was, in many ways the turning point of them not making the postseason. That great run great surge humbled in that series, and the Braves were better, every which way swept in three straight games. Close games. The Braves knew howto win the Mets tonight. So you give me a cornea met killer Freddie Freeman, Abby's Camargo call Hamels, who's now in Atlanta. Braves, Mets Braves to kick off the season What You guys think about that. It's said to Ah, story out, buddy. Oh, it's Evelyn Going blue All is. Well, my friend was that Yeah. Last week I We had a good time and meet you in, you know. You're Chris's better because, Chris, you know what they got on and jump in when you have. That was a great guy. I really until you do you I thought so, too. We had a great time. Yeah, it was great talent, and I want to make your by the way, the man you're going to be dangerous. You know, I'm a Yankee fan. I'm telling you right now. Valium ation. And now with the age is going to be too there and to their advantage. But anyway, I'm gonna make sure every quarterback someone I went to opinion on it. And I know you're gonna tell me Louie, where your you know what I'm saying. That is an opinion back. Patrick my horn. It's a great quote about future a future Hall of Famer. But ah Rogers and Tom Brady. I want to start with a woman going Well, What do you talking about Lois, for is this year? No, no. You're saying things that people don't understand. I mean, I talked about it and the Super Bowl last year back home the first quarter. He was very lousy. Am I right or wrong? Can't fight on it. And then with six minutes left, Okay, and then let me go to the other quarterback. If you don't mind. Just give me the time. Ah, the 49 which is a great running team. Decided what to scores are coming at 10 10 ahead by 10 and I decided to start running the ball and gave him a home. A kid. Very easily. If the 49 it would have been dead job, he would launch his Super Bowl that sports stole. I mean, what if Richard's logical going? What if Richard Seymour wraps up you? Aye, Manning. And sacks of report about what it was like. I don't know what they say. Samuel takes what should have been a pick six to the house and we're not talking about, you know, Eat one. We're talking about 19 and over in a wing on so you don't know what it is today. The bottom line is this the homes in the fourth quarter, down two scores. Right out of his mind and lead them to a championship. That's exactly let me let me talk about Roger. Now, you may regain the guy's going toe to Green Bay. What, 97 record, Okay. And he's Raj is supposed to be one of the best quarterback in the world okay and 1917. The giant going there, Okay and Rogers. I couldn't hit anybody. I mean, he was wide open when he was well, but I want you to watch the game. And let me know if you think that I'm just making it up. OK now about what do you mean about Roger's playing poorly changes the greatest, you know, one of the greatest quarterback in the world, but I'm telling you that game. He should have won that game if we would play to his capability. Well, let's be honest, Green Bay in that NFC title game. Forget about Ann Rogers for a minute. Forget about Rogers. Green Bay Packers could stop the war. Oh, he most was basically running for 89 10 yards a carry. I had Green Bay winning that game. It was the worst bed I made all football season. I could not have been more wrong because they played the first time they've got smoked. I thought Green Bay would point better. I thought they would've just nonsense. They did not know that. So I'm not going to discredit my home because you know what?.

"Go to the n._f._l. Let's start this in green bay. Packers and new head coach matt leflore and aaron rodgers not on the same page early in camp. The coach likes can't likes camp likes working out with other teams. Here's what aaron rodgers said said about doing a joint practice with texans. I wouldn't mind if they didn't do it for another fourteen years and then he said that the offensive work is of great value because schematically. There's not a lot there and he doesn't like the risk of injury. Is this just one of those things or is this a real problem between rogers and the floor. Take it or shake it. Take it real problems. Take take take it though she sleep but i think when you think when you think about what i said the other day about out joint practices. It's a no no. No one wants to do that but coaches then only ones you. There's there's nothing to gain from it. The iran tell you 'cause. Let's coaches are stupid. He just do stuff. They just day or stupid. I told you this the other day and raja's comes out and basically backs up exactly exactly what i'll say it. No one wants to do that. You risk injury. You're getting no real work at all and it is going to be a power struggle for this young head head coach and matlock floor in aaron rodgers. It's going to be a power struggle in math going to have to cave in or else. He's going to get fire yeah. I was just gonna say if you're a brand new head coach jay first time head coach and all of a sudden you gotta go coach your first team as the head guy that's one thing you've got to be the head coach of the green bay packers with a hall of fame quarterback. Who's in the meat prime of his career. That's a totally different thing different. Yeah it's different because ann rogers is also different. He's so cerebral. He's so questions every think think anyway. He's not just gonna go to get him on like other. Q._b.'s wills so you know skiing on the walls though skin on the wall. What do you mean it meaning matlock floor. Oh if you if you were dealing dealing with coach that came in and mike shanahan or bill parcells done something that has some skin on the wall the aaron rodgers with baal down where if there's a guy like sean mcvay say the world gets up into shining face their push mcvay a smart enough to realize that i need him to produce some let him do what he needs to do. If he's doing what he needs to do in his positive then we're gonna be okay and if it's negative it's gonna follow him. I've done everything to make him a better player. I'll keep my job. We'll get rid of him
