A short film written by a woman from Chevy Chase Maryland that won best foreign picture at the LA shorts film festival will get two public screenings next week at the Kennedy Center, one small visit is based on the true story of a road trip in Indian immigrant family took in 1969 after the historic moon landing. Filmmaker, anish Abraham joined Dmitri and Hillary to talk about her film. It was certainly a surprise, and I think also just a testimony to my mother and grandmother's grit and resilience. And I think what happens next in terms of the Armstrong family opening their door and inviting my parents in for tea is even more beautiful and I think this is just incredibly why this movie resonates now and it's such an important movie. In part, is it because in our fraught life these days, you maybe wouldn't think about necessarily knocking on a door and saying we admire your work can we come in for a while? Well, it's true. I think we would certainly pause now before doing that. And I think at the time they just really wanted to pay their respects and it was incredible at the Armstrong's open their door. But I will also just add that Neil Armstrong had just gone to India on a world tour after going to space. So I think in some way, there was that connection. But I think a lot of what we want to bring forward with this movie is just, again, the importance of having it shared humanity and the importance of just small acts of openness and kindness and how that can bring us together. Yeah, we forgot the most salient point here, and that is Neil Armstrong's mom invited your mom and grandmother in for tea and who walks downstairs, but. Their jobs, their jaws must have hit the floor. They were just astounded. And it was really an incredible visit, and I think that this movie continues to resonate. We, in fact, had the wonderful experience of showing this movie at NASA headquarters with Mark Armstrong Neil Armstrong's son and one of the things that we talk about as a common theme of this movie is that from space, the borders that you see don't exist. And I think that, again, this is so important to the movie, but certainly so important in terms of the theme of space and astronauts and so on.
