"A great record and you dead is that right. Yeah those your lyrics and great The colder sees mine. Brian connolly sang the verses. Only but the performance considering the stacey present a he was not in a good place. I still feel that. That's one of bryan's best performances ever the versus in is oxygen. Which is why it feels so destructive that he left the band soon after that you know now i did read about that. He got attacked is that right is he was. He was attacked by some guys. And they kicked him in the throat. Or something like that. Will in nineteen seventy four. We were about to do a big toward the uk which we hadn't done since before blockbusters have we didn't do england much in seventy three other than just taking the old you know the venue. We didn't have a cohesive tall but in nineteen seventy four. We were about to do about ten gigs in the uk. One of them. We would invite you to play with the who the charlton football ground now. This was one of the very very first big gigs. like this. At football grounds. It took like the who to get us all out of the Like the rainbow theatre the hemel hempstead. Pavilion. 'cause obviously they were playing stadiums over in in the states. You know like the baseball stadiums so they came back to england and when we should be doing this over here so instead of playing to fight size when people in a bigger arenas took it outside to a football stadium and then we're going to get some forty thousand people there and we were invited on the bill. An slow was one before the who you know you. You couldn't have asked for. Lou reed on the bill and all all kinds of people and brian connolly the the week before. That gig goes out these in this nightclub in a a town on the outskirts of london where he apparently used to go quite regularly mercedes outside. When inside is chatting a couple of girls up that boyfriends are not happy when he's on his own now that's ridiculous. He usually had somebody with him on the outside visit. Guide dancing on the roof of these car. So he's he's going to get him off and as he's moved forward. I think somebody just hit him from behind next thing. You know. I get a phone call the next morning. Saying brian's industrial cracked ribs bruising in the head he reckons he heard somebody say kick him in the throat That means that somebody who's out to do something. And they knew who he was. I would have set at that time. That was very few who will eat more easily recognized so that was kind of the beginning of his troubles. Right or i mean. I read that he was Became alcoholic and all that was because of the accident. I always felt that may drama had hollow lakes. They call it. You know like you wouldn't believe and brian would down a few gin and tonics. You know you'd never know 'cause he was always who was. Then you started to notice that things were the same and he wasn't as coherent but this accident happened in seventy four but now love is like oxygen. I don't know when you recorded it but it was seventy-seven having so he's singing on that. Yeah but but he's done a bit of a states by then. Was he able to sing at that. Who concert no no. "I'm andy scott matching bubble and i am delighted to say that joined by adam smith and full mcrae's late king jackson dense great. Cu in the bubble in the all ringside more. Checked-in have the kobe test. I thought can leave the room this morning. It was a every no and you could leave until three o'clock this afternoon. I'm pulling my hand saying that you just wanted to leave your room and go down because no one had told you otherwise gonna white that ed rules. Joni welcome to the leave. The room but stayed in. We have a main event. Both guys come through the testing which was the big. I heard now they written. It's gonna be really interesting. Cla interact so just put in context. The flu the hotel is bubbled off. So he's not like we're mixing with everybody else but all the undercard fighters and the main event for us we all in the same room and we do mixed age is actually gonna be staying on a different floor. So it's not like the teams are going to meet in the corridor. But for me. I saw of feelings from the bubble is strange. And if you are uncomfortable around someone you in there is no was taking wasn't an advanced amateur wasn't amateur with no that had done this on the circuit but in amateurs that's what they do end up being in the same room as your your opponent. Someone find could be on the next table so wage. Am pool of Even though something happened done for years something they've done before The different says there's a lot at state now on so so an age. Aj's letting the harsh lesson in regards to to human nature. How things can turn those set hobbies fight head on. No friendship no poly poly in needs again with the job so so if i were he. Policies team are trying to keep them away from pool of as much as possible because automatically he'd be nice guy be friendly and everything keep more keeping keeping tight keeping dry. That's on these. I think it's to do with personalities as well obviously been the bubbles many bubbles over the last four months what i've noticed is that the certain fighters that want to makes certain that sort of enjoy that almost like comradery. That sort of boot camp field is in the bubble. And there's others that. We still much casey taylor when she when she was fighting that week. But we were playing dobbs. Sham courtney the night before her fight so i think it depends on characters. It depends on on sort of how comfortable they feel in this situation. It's it's difficult but he's got to adapt and we're all sort of in the same boat together. I think we saw. We deleon white. When he fought alexander ovechkin in the summer you know he had his own winnebago. He kept away as much as he could. But there are going to be times where. Agm you'll ever going to cross paul's there are media events that are workouts. There are obviously the way in. Th- there's going to be more times than normal but i think they will probably will certainly joshua keep himself himself who has already been very soc. Remember when i bought so european titling karlsruhe. Germany was against marcus. Marcus brought all these team these crew. That was his own patch. i went down with. Brendan your ten year. Old ten-year-old baron was my the time Couple of with us from a small team of together it was it was intimidating experience because one was on his turf but to your brennan said look no war. Egypt seem. don't look at him. Don't even get into it because you don't to be you don't want to let you up just got to be impartial. And so it was like top ends of a magnet. You just try to avoid each other. I think that's what they should do here. Down to confidence. debbie mindset when when. Aj turns up and we'll come to the actual shortly. I just wonder if that andy rua's mentality. It's something that we always talk about now. And i probably have never thought of it up until that flight from this fights is being overly friendly in the book older stricken bounce and play it. You just said you would say if you were working with. Aj you know. I wonder what political do he seems. A very laid back character after character. They were fine back in two thousand seventeen when they had to share the whole day together because we did a lot filming on that day. I just wanted to know in the bubble with we will talk about about crunching handshakes one hundred scout down to mindset once joshua. I'm assuming he's gonna walk in there with the mentality of champions so therefore he's gonna think i've got your number pool of if he doubts himself little bit he'll be prepared to play that game. Play the old friends eight and bureau with him and within more try and familiarize it because when it gets to get in the ring hijacked. That's how you hijacked your opponent like hundred wasted so so i don't know we'll see we'll see. We saw two very friendly rivals in the bubble here of the wendy residency. The first week with alexander roussy kandar his aura. They were literally sitting nearby tables. You know that was. That was a hard to remember. There was that sort of how are they going to be together and they ended up embrace the head to head derek. Little switch did play at the way. The press press corps. You've got to really believe they're going to win that and i am. Do you really believe these number. Because he was pathetic you could you imagine morales doing that with barreira been piloted before i just dairy did to win that fight. I thought he. I think he got himself into the best possible condition. I think with the sort of the camp behind him. I think he did but obviously he knew it was a very hard. It's a hard aspe- kuro who this and josh.

Finally for you you find on the vacuum white to undercard against Sebastian full maller. It's been a long time coming on I'm sure it's been frustrating for number different reasons because of the it's not knowing that's been the hardest thing for everybody in the pandemic within the next show when we're GONNA get out next so to finally get just. How much difference does that make you? I mean not much subs my training I mean I'll be always graphs to enjoy lockdown. Working hard relevant with a day. Oh without. Anita. Every chuck can get so much more room for improvement all-natural use this time wisely site they might not different slaving day obesity now switched on to turn up the. Oman injuries aw time of head off of comeback because choice use that time wisely, exactly what don he and I plan on Sean you guys. But it's funny I I've been ain't GONNA BE NO RIG RUSS or INACTIVITY IF I in in all opponents so is. Asked how much confidence trying China has billion what? Jordan done really. I mean. SKIP FOOD A couple of questions that he was going to ask you some of the people that we spoke to. It has been a perfect opportunity to rest the body on the an assault. Almost you know it's box very, very hard game this intense training. So period inactivity, some people have used it to rest. You've actually done the opposite and this has been a presumably a great time to get the gave lockdown with Tony almost. With injuries previously your credit you think there's no trauma president just to get in the gym. Welcome things. Lot On. Arrest. May Now may. Be Line in the game, you don't need rest your. Just trying to enjoy the training and say, you're the I mean, you look healthy you look big dig. Jeez this guy's a big world. What's so big fleshy though, right just powerful you look big. You don't like you don't allow Lopez lots against launch in cody I pay that. which are because before you came on the corner Gary said, you should see the shape of him is easing some shape. So I mean you know what it is. I think from nineteen when I turned pro said now the changes so drastic like if was fire. Your potty trained is. Because turning boy to a man. SEPE, it's not happy archways those race up into the world to see if you. Thought about that just because I think genetics like did he hit when he is genuine mainstream? So what are you now twenty four? When you think back to you turning pro even though shots if you will not the you look like such a young popular don't be in a disparaging way from now to then you look completely different digits. So saying, well, you know I didn't really get strength to such time. gave. My shirt for twenty eight. So another four years from now and a number pick another very important thing well, is that in many ways you turn pro at the right time because in my era I turn pro October e eight and off I was with Mickey Dolphin Likes to Dementia Risks Esso's lane new books in India now but the one thing they always against strength conditioning don't touch poke you up don't touch ways you poke. So we ever did was trained to just lose weight. We are the only thing we have was body weight stuff. So they we didn't ever a great coach right, Dan. Identifying what we might have gluten weakness we've got strengthened up on or quote weakness or adopted tightness ev all these things that are so incremental in a boxer being the best he can be on Friday and not only that performing will jim in training and having that understanding, invent I've been a clear understanding nutrition WanNa turn still free square meals. So you had your freaks like. Huntington Nuance, Bob who were exceptions to the rule Loyd had man strength on believable. Spalding. I would have been twenty one an Almighty thought she is world champion Biden. All was literally a man against boy do nothing against him whereas with you now if you. Even, say twenty one, two years of SNC underneath you. You then start doing you sought smart with Gaza being in the game bit more chip world and you don't feel strength as much to you. You're right now because you've got that you've got that grounding which we didn't have reo bill the ability that's come down, and that will stay with me for four or five months where we had conditionally. A. Drive in mind. Yeah Economic, the opposite coast trump as on never. By. understood the right nutrition at a strength and conditioning and the rest and the whole package US athletes. Now get can I ask you connor about Sebastian? Formula He's dipped into world-class. I think he's probably most famous most known to us because he he sean worser. Okay. You were shut out on points. That's a pretty good yardstick names a Steinau on these record to Lonnie in Bangor was fifteen, and now the Taunton Beffa will show who now because came over and books Denton. So you've been with good quality of opponents of you see Macho Vin. Books. Germany. Nah Not to walk on water tried to joke to to watch him. Meet him getting my head out on each thinking about way doesn't can do. So trump Think you lot power like me? When I'm a I mean. He's obviously Kobe shown Bulla. But. Outgoing trauma consignment wanted flies while really gets you know apply the pressure and Billy Joel onto much titan. Flights. So, as twenty, five, Zero Massey step hoping apartment. Yeah. Coop Sees A. Yengo anything. I'll go worry about adopting yet Niassa. It has nothing to worry about until. So it might be quoting might be tricky and Lincroft. But as after when when people juicy Koivu who is GonNa do me to experience. Nego Baghdad so. The British Boxing Board of Control for longtime like you and Kris Jenkins we're GonNa Square off going to defend these practices taller or. It didn't come about. Do you know why? It was nothing to do with me and my team. Would offer to the bathroom. It was annot Jenkins wanting to find accepting the fight numerous times united team about this for some reason. We couldn't get filed not from. The. Bunny Fain. IT WASN'T A. It was a fake it was it was his head. So just wanted things where they are mockery move forward. "To this week's edition of Ringside Toe toe a boxing podcast exclusive to Sky Sports. I'm Andy Scott and this we come joining you from the mattress fight bubble here in. Peterborough. There will some hope that we'll be back with a small crowd in attendance in Newcastle, but the current covid restrictions that will be at the east of England arena with a host of northeast boxing talent on show. Lewis Richardson tops. The bill won't be looking to edge closer towards a world title shot as he faces Mexican, Miguel Vasquez written full of confidence after beating Rob Davis Junior twelve months ago. But knows he's lofty world ranking with the WB will disappear. It becomes unstuck against the former world champion who has been a pro fourteen years made his professional debut against certain Sowell Canelo Alvarez I caught up we've Louis earlier on today. Louis. Great. See it feels like an absolute lifetime ago that we came up and did that press conference in new car. So with Oscars father told you then everything that was going to happen between now and then what would you have said wouldn't believe that's for one, but it's been a model everybody nothing. Would is really that's eventually going. going. To. Be on Saturday. How has the whole preparation bean? It's it's truly been different. Doesn't mean that hasn't been effective. How have you managed with other now? Limitations that are in place especially up in Newcastle Louis? Neal's Jimmy's land. So we haven't really not Jim in the last is five minutes from house saw just been normal comp even when there had been counselors twice just to normal comes in. We've we've benefit of. Times moved quickly bought slowly at the same. It was a lifetime ago that you box Davis Junior Look. That was one of the best performances ego, your career yapping his best performance. Think, it'd be. Nettie. Figured it was the fight was next would it be? And Yeah definitely, the best performance of recreation hopefully to bill not in. More. A year ago, he just doesn't feel like it doesn't. I suppose any disappointment that would not do this new costs because. Certainly off the PATERA flight that you. So down in dumps because you like we lost all of this momentum and the backing up behind you from the fans that simply wasn't the case packed-out for Robey Davis Junior. We thought that we might go back before the announcement that there would be a small crowd in new costs which are not so important you the fact that we've had to move down here to Peterborough's it taking the shine off all you're going to go back to that whole. What we've heard from other people look ring ring it really doesn't matter but I wonder with the fans to you does matter nor does Monaco's had. Before the first fuskus constellation about fifteen hundred tickets needed five hundred more more people go Maden. US. With another one person for money back. Even, saw. If if not said all when I found in tickets in thousand people our. Full thousand I need. A Saudi do. Take off. The job to do and we'll get past Vasquez without big face common. They always would you down the stretch and didn't always need it but they were always there for you with this environment is so choir is like a gym fly almost. there. was also that so of wasn't an accusation, but you would you would fight for the crowd. So sometimes, it would be a disadvantage that you could easily and not get involved in war actually for the fans you did get involved in a wall with this one is it going to be both in China disadvantage because I suppose you're not going to have that same adrenaline. Trying to please the fans or was that really just doesn't matter either way I. Don't think I'm I think we've Vasco staff and Bring it, and after his last chance saloon in a I'm GONNA bring to to get moved to see him. Just wrote. Code now. Yeah it's GONNA be lot watching the TV's backup in Newcastle. Super Lightweight there was question marks I stepped up a lot people were kinda more maybe he's caught between whites maybe he's not super natural super lightweight. Dismissed that now with such an impressive performance against be they actually superlight what you've grown into that way in your now natural. One of the benefits of the two faiths being knocked up group that we now I am. Tends to fight up by on Be I come beautifully right in the middle, maybe nine twelve would have been. That would have been idea about. This fully as a chance to defend the wheaton. Often. Often work decency isolate we. Wouldn't challenge your best. Thing about me go Vasquez is yes. He has had some defeats when he's record now nine, they still only been in very, very good company and one thing that prescribes that we had was was quite shocked that wasn't just here for payday very, very ambitious that he saw you as a stepping stone towards a shot at a world title. How dangerous easy how do you rank in? Things, very dangerous thing is. When I got announced, who was quite a few people negative. Comments now quite a few of investors going to be is so it's so late, this lockdowns flip the bits which is. Good for me 'cause was pressure to one thing about the crow. There's no pressure there. I think he's going to come. We're nothing that's what's going to be a good fight. Risking number two ranking with the WBZ. risking. The, it was tied up at the Taupin and I think golfing cross that Josh Taylor gets shot Jose. Ramirez. And we get an undisputed champion in the meantime. People already mentioned particularly hearn regis pro gray. As a name that might be interesting. Would you be interested in that? If you come through against? Yeah, we're comfortable Vasquez accord see shope off how our WanNa Josh Taylor, tinges, Portland Godunov. Pete. So would. Halt without being over over America, let's go to be. And it's not new also finds the. On the street I name philosophers is going to be here as we have and I think we'll get. Fighting. Spirit. Now, in your career twenty-seven, you've done your apprenticeship learning. You've one pretty much everything that you could win apart from world title. Would you be confident enough to say now it doesn't really matter who the belt. The you would you back yourself to. To win we'll talk. Yeah. Definitely. Sent a really good spawn June this Spoil Relations Josh. Maxwell and or legs to them and. We take a we'll take fight tomorrow you know swallow the best nee we believe that were then we can mix in our company. What's the scenario that you come through Vasquez hopefully bus stop engines you get a chance to have one more back home new Newcastle with the fanfare before yourself on will Definitely. Fight and. Regis get through is next one why get him and you also? We've got nexen.

"I'm Andy Scott I'm joined by former middleweight world title contender macklin Hi, Matt eight during. My South Yoga may thank you very much. Dry. It's a very special guest. This this we're joined by Joshua Brazzi is deep repairs for Sunday for Censoring Against Marco College. I or thank you so much for joining us on fight week. Isn't your typical week how you adjust into different dates presumably, you go into the mattering bubble very soon in a Sunday fight night a little bit different normal. Very. Very different India. We. Go into the bubble and Wednesday I think and then a box and Sunday. Different Man. As I've just said to paper Web is still going to be a fight that unappointed to deal with so I can't comment too much on how he's going to be because I been there. In terms of finding band crystals with no cardon would differences that's been made I'm looking forward to it has been well over a year Andy. So I'm looking forward to that man. Before we get into the box in side of things, how is everything with your personal life and family and everybody your close friends the pandemics been very very test in our no certainly from boxin of view. It's not been easy how you coat. Yes unfortunately, and it's been away for me is just meant more family time and a lack things learn to an extent. So for me, it's been quiet normal when when I have to do these things alone is actually been bad because that's been nurse nation need this locker. Cool. Yesterday learn anyway. So just go along with it and but definitely I do have to run these people found it hard. and. I hope that you know the place now but yeah, it's been. It's been out for me just different dates with you know different base of change regarding this fight bought we finding locked in a day Ns in less than six days now. Who focuses on site Sunday almost day and you were so used to. Listen. We're going to be saying it. During the to- pandemic master regular on the show easier said when we're just talking about life in general, you point getting stressed and frustrated you can only control the controllables and yeah, you can apply that to some extent. But how frustrating has it been with only injuries that you had an illness but then the pandemic and dates that were on dates that were how you manage to stay focused? Yes. In a bit frustrating bashing main, the what Matt said man imposed and is like a con- control was happened. saw and you look at positives and Nestle identity. So I think you know what I'm saying here I haven't gotten alone some injuries or illnesses had minor setback spot that's about it. So evident at shooting in a good place like arcand sit here and Say Oh I've been told off for year leftover two years none of that. You know what I mean. So obviously looked at the positives and a pandemic has been a world wide effects is not just me on the order be. Notebooks. It's a worldwide thinks dot com. Or take it too personal get phyllis strong whereby it. It's been unfortunate. Don't get me wrong but you have to an opposite is a negative current situation before driven some happy that finding they and thus kind of where I might. Say Very postive and I'm sure that you will be on fight week. Is there any sense of loss of momentum oils some through? The general situation but other through bad luck and do you sort of lost a little bit of the momentum that you had. Your think. When you're busier is like it's obvious people see more frequently in front of People's minds, people, People's faces on everything and that hasn't happened recently bought. Again. I quite optimistic. We've everything and if ammonia view, I'm looking forward to Sunday put in a good sir. Probably. Momentum has been lost again I'll be back out man I'll be back are fight and keep fighting is not to say about like I said earlier on, it's not to say, Oh, you're nuts mercury. So on need to reckon would fight snow that's not the situation. So this time. Mundus. Time in an unfinished Rome. About your opponent it's Marco College. We don't know a hell of a lot about just because he hasn't really been on. The law heavyweight radar for heavyweight in the amateurs we know that and he'd be Allen Babich who oversees become a little bit of a favor of the Charlotte thing they shed for amateur fights and. Cody Davies see someone you knew on the amateur squad nothing mall Kobe him as well. But other than that. You too much about. So from what I nervous, he's an opponent that's been about for years in of amateur scene he walks in the world series, which is not perfect. anyways did AP, which is eight to ten to twelve rounds. So he's got that experience under his belt You know how to look himself ended Saraswat Definitely. Do you know that as much as he other Halloween. Purple. By Neta in terms of the images he's gone away. They didn't go to the Olympic as has been order majors. dung-quat will be some good kiss as you've mentioned and lock said, he's done the world series under APB. So. That's experienced professionals. Sprint is basically well series is firearms the AP be. Eight to ten to around. Ease experienced money so It's a different but we're going to. Bring Matt Macklin in Matt just at all you to see Joshu blassie back in the ring I now you've always been a big fan. Yeah absolutely of a big front from day one of I. Don't think anyone's prices higher than may allow you to make but. It's shiny Period but you know the the good and bad thing about Parsonage Aronie as good as your last fight. The people you off after want by performance but also is a good thing because you wanna be performance and you strike back. Best. So I think it's You know he's got a period of inactivity hopefully. Now it gets a good win on Sunday looks goldfields good gets talking about him again and hopefully after that, he can get straight by how be busy know. One thing that's probably hurt Joshi's career little he's on the state and he's moving in exactly the right direction. But if you could probably be a little bit further along and that's just momentum activities more regular flights. Every time you know Josh wanted these outspoken flamboyance characters you know. So he's not conor McGregor type Princeton seem how many as real.

"Ooh our dog's name is Ren we call him Rennie most of the time Oh nice what kind of dog is running he is a dachshund mix He's like twenty seven pounds so he kind of looks like a giant dachshund that's Andy Scott you've definitely hurt her name before in the credits every episode she's my partner in crime we got him after trump was elected because I needed something cute and sweet that they didn't know about a lot of bad things in this world he got Rennie she was living in Brooklyn and getting the dog meant joining what she calls dog culture but not just any dog culture of very specific Artisanal Brooklyn Variety of oh culture in our local park for Green Park there was this like incredible culture in the mornings before nine am this dog culture and basically the city has this rule that before nine am dogs can be off leash in the city parks so basically like if you want your dog to get the kind of exercise and socialization that happens when dogs can be off leash them like you go to the park before nine am so each morning and four Green Park fifty one hundred dogs run free and their people well they know Chitchat and at first I was like I don't know if I could do this like I'm not like super morning person can I talk can I have conversation but basically over the course of like the two years that we were part of this culture you know you see the same people every day and you make these incredible friendships and you walk around and some days it's like a therapy session you're talking to out your day you're talking about your life something's happened and you're you're bonding over that somebody's you're just telling stories and laughing goofing off or you're just like it's just a daily check in like how are you what are you doing today and like laughing with friends before nine am is a really special thank several months ago Andy and her wife Robin Left Brooklyn to move to Austin Texas and no surprise here they picked a house close to a park hoping to answer themselves into the local culture just like they had in Brooklyn but things are well different we basically get here we wake up on the first day and I'm like all right let's go we gotta go to the park and we walk over there get there and we were literate really the only people there are that make you feel and just a big hole in my heart I know that like it's never gonNa be the same right you're never you can't recreate what happens in one place in another like situations are different But I guess I just fumed that people would be there I just figured that there would be something someone even just one other dog and there were none and there were none Andy's new Austin she and her wife are still exploring their neighborhood and finding their people know they've found some great parks hangouts nothing's quite matched they left behind and he's dog park in Brooklyn and the culture that grew up around it it's something of an anomaly for experience in Austin unfortunately it's far more comet Americans are lonelier than we've ever been living alone vacationing alone eating alone working alone you're probably listening to this podcast alone and that has a big impacts on how we feel part of that is because like Andy and Austin many of us lack the places that we need to make community one study looked at forty four different city in the US it measured the relationship between the quantity and accessibility of parks and overall well being in that city and guess what researchers found that the percentage of a community covered by the park was actually a really good predictor of how well people in those communities said they felt we think of our health is something that we personally responsible when we eat right and exercise we were taking care of ourselves we buy the healthy snacks we stay away from soda we'd go to Yoga we ride our bikes we walk and we monitor all of it on our fitness truckers and smartphones but what if taking care of ourselves is actually part of the problem what staying healthy isn't something we can ourselves what if it's something that we actually have to do to get being together means that we need somewhere to go like Andy's dog park so today we're going search those places together of course I'm Abdul El-Sayed and this is America dissecting you're probably listening to this cast your phone right do something for me go ahead and take a look at your screen time tracker if you've got one what does it say yesterday mindset five hours five hours that's five hours my ancestors might have been engrossed in a long conversation with a friend or playing with their kid or making new kids meanwhile had my face and my screen probably rage tweeting about something trump's that and don't get me wrong the things we can do in this virtual world would have seemed like minor miracles to our ancestors it's pretty incredible how small our technology is made his real world field and through social media through gaming through message boards and more some people have found real lasting connections on the Internet but it comes with a real cost trading breadth depth because seriously two hundred and eighty characters how meaningful is that communication really twitter's not a place you can actually be on twitter you're just looking at twitter higher l. relationships are really hard perhaps that's why we're so good at avoiding them the Internet enables that can you imagine trying to go someone before the Internet we avoid death because we're afraid of the potential costs like pain and heartbreak and frustration this is than just my opinion research about social media uses beginning to show that more social media predicts higher loneliest one study by researchers at the University of Pittsburgh of nearly eighteen hundred what's between one thousand nine hundred thirty two thousand that going on social media fifty times a week predicted three times the likelihood of feeling socially isolated and this bears out on our health and deeper ways as we'll get to but virtual places are easy to get to replaces art and maybe that's the problem well look I mean it's certainly easier to engage age someone on twitter but it's also far less satisfying and I think that one thing that people around the world are experiencing now is a sense of frustration with the limitations of life on the screen Professor Eric Klein Enberg is a sociologist at Nyu he studies physical spaces and the impact that they have on our society our culture and our health I think too many of us have become hooked in a way that we ourselves recognized to be unhealthy and there's a feeling that social life online is is ultimately Saccharin it's it's not satisfying it's not nurturing and so I think increasingly people are using screens and using social media to generate interactions in real life Clinton Berg's work shows that real physical spaces that catalyze togetherness can actually go so far as to save your life to understand how let me take you through an example he wrote about early on in his career come with me to Chicago in nineteen ninety five I'm WBZ MTV Michael Jordan's just announced he's coming back to the hardcore TLC just hit the top of the charts with their hit waterfalls.

The patriots disrespecting their greatness matter of fact, it's because of their greatness starting Bill Belichick charger should have won that game last night. They had more talents. Go into that game. They're playing one of the greatest quarterbacks ever to play and they're gonna play it. But Mila shown d home. My gosh against a team. Cannot outrun. You come on man them attack where quarterback that's how you play the patriot, Mike. What's what's the fallout? Ben what is the fallout in on on? Anthony Lynn that coaching staff this week out there. There is no fault. It's just like oh same old chargers. No. That was on the coaches, man. It was terrible book game. Oh, it was horrible. I mean. Bill belichick. One time about a judgments. When you get the halftime or you're gonna make adjustments. And he smiles says wildlife to actually make adjustments before how I see a problem, and they stayed in that show defense the entire how I work with a quarterback. And I've worked with them for nineteen years as my partner, Atlanta guy. Buck Balu won the national titles quarterback at the university of Georgia. And he always just laughs. When you hear someone talk about halftime adjustments. He's like, wait a minute here. Are you gonna wait 'til half time to make adjustments? 'cause if you do you're a loser. Expect here Lucy read to make the same mistake. He's had some surprising success against Bella. Check in in the past. Is going to be hungry and aggressive today. And I expect Kansas City to give them the beating. They should have got. Oh, wow. I like that though. And I appreciate your call, Mike. Thanks, buddy. Let me tell you this. I adore big red. And that's what I wanted to get to and my tease at the top of the hour. I've got a rooting interest today above all others. And my rooting interest will be tonight to see Andy Reid get to a Super Bowl. I saw Andy Reid. The last time he got to a Super Bowl. And I saw a no matter what you think of him. I saw an absolute historic performance. In that Super Bowl by Teo. Whether you think t a jerk with you think he's a diva whatever it is. I saw an absolute historic performance by Tara loans. Six weeks off a broken leg. Six weeks off a broken leg. Te'o manages to go out there and a Super Bowl and just kick booty. And he put up he was the best player on the field for Andy Reid. Steam the best. And that's all I need to know is that I know that Andy Reid with time to prepare can go toe to toe with anybody as a coach. I just hope today. He doesn't waste the opportunity by not being aggressive, and I hope he takes a play out of a playbook. That we saw last year one of his proteges pull off. Doug peterson. Had an opportunity with a team that was an underdog a true underdog. Sorry, Bill Belichick and Tom Brady. You can try the underdog routine. I know you got your backsides beaten with it last year by somebody using that as motivation. Nobody believes you're a underdog. So nobody's fallen for it. But if you sell some t shirts up there in in New England, I guess that's a good thing. Doug Peterson every opportunity he had to roll the dice in the Super Bowl. He roll the dice. Every opportunity that he had to be able to push the envelope and go for it. He did. He stayed aggressive. And Andy Reid will have an amazing resume as an NFL head coach. And I know another head coach with an amazing resume similar Andy Reed's who doesn't get the respect he deserves. And that's Dan Reeves. And Dan Reeves is a spectacular head coach in NFL history. Absolutely amazing. But he never gets the respect he deserves. He never gets talked about amongst the greatest coaches in the game in the first realm of conversation. Because of the fact he didn't get that Super Bowl win. Andy Scott to get back, and he's gotta get it. Now, you're going to tell me that well, Patrick Mahomes, this young he's got every chance to get back. He's got every chance to find his way back to a Super Bowl. Okay. You want to believe that? That's awesome. I'm telling you. That's not the case. You don't know. None of this stuff is known. None of this stuff can be counted on. You would have thought drew Brees after winning Super Bowl? In February of two thousand and ten I think that was. Two thousand ten I believe February or late January. You would have thought that drew Brees would've won another Super Bowl by now? Be honest. If he wins today. He's got a chance to do it. In the city where I live the worst nightmare that they could possibly imagine. Drew Brees coming to their town and trying to win a Super Bowl the saints and all the who DAT nation. Coming to Atlanta to party in their restaurants and their bars, it'll be a nightmare. It'll be something that just causes the greatest dodgy you could ever imagine. It's like last year when the eagles fans were coming into Minnesota. For the Super Bowl that somehow the fans of the Minnesota Vikings thought that they were you know, entitled to and they were so upset to see the eagles fans come to town. Nothing yet. The Vikings in the eagles have no history. The saints in the falcons, there's d patriot. I mean d- patriot. If the saints come to Atlanta, it'll be a I mean, it's a it's a civic nightmare. I'm rooting for big red today, and I'll root for Sean McVay to come back to his hometown. He's an Atlanta guy. It gets come back where he won a state championship at school, which just happens to be my daughter's high school. So I will definitely be rooting for him to look I wanna rooting interest in these games. If you're watching them I have to have a rooting interest. You may not you may be able to watch a game and say, well, I like just to watch a game because I'm a fan of the sport. I I just like a good game. Now, you could do that. If you like I wanna villain. I wanna hear I want somebody. I wants to win I want somebody. I want to lose. Share your thoughts. If you want eight five five two one two four CBS eight five five two one two four CBS championships. Sunday is here, and we're gonna have lots more discussion with it here on the jonky Keiichiro, but coming up the. Potential cheaters bowl in Atlanta. You know, it's going to be the story line that you'll I get tired of. Show CBS sports radio. This is the John Kincaid show. I'm jay. Flowers, chocolates,.

Absolutely amazing. Putting never gets the respect he deserves. You would have thought drew Brees after winning a Super Bowl? In what February of two thousand and ten I think that was. Two thousand ten I believe February or late January. You would have thought that drew Brees would've won another Super Bowl by now? Be honest. If he wins today. He's got a chance to do it. In the city where I live the worst nightmare that they could possibly imagine. Drew Brees coming to their town and trying to win a Super Bowl with the saints and all the who DAT nation. Coming to Atlanta to party in their restaurants and bars, it'll be a nightmare. It'll be something that just causes the greatest dodgy that you could ever imagine. It's like last year when the eagles fans were coming into Minnesota. For the Super Bowl that somehow the fans of the Minnesota Vikings thought that they were entitled to. And they were so upset to see the eagles fans come to town. Nothing yet. The Vikings in the eagles have no history. The saints in the falcons, there's d patriot. I mean d- patriot. If the saints come to Atlanta, it'll be I mean, it's a it's a civic nightmare. I'm rooting for big red today, and I'll root for Sean McVay to come back to his hometown. He's an Atlanta guy. Gets come back where he won a state championship at school, which just happens to be my daughter's high school. So I will definitely be rooting for him to look I wanna rooting interest in these games. If you're watching them I have to have a rooting interest. You may not you may be able to watch a game and say, well, I like just to watch a game because I'm a fan of the sport. I dislike a good game. Now, you can do that. If you like I want a villain. I wanna hero want somebody. I wants to win I want somebody. I want to lose. Share your thoughts. If you want eight five five two one two four CBS eight five five two one two four CBS championship. Sunday is here. And we're gonna have lots more discussion with it here on the John k chill but coming up the. Potential cheaters bowl in Atlanta. You know, it's.

"And you know, you talk the equipment companies they'll say the guys under twenty five drive the business from twelve to sixteen or eighteen for their product. Right. So these these are highly visible athletes, they're young guys. And I mean, just incredibly young right? I mean what we've put on them. You know, like I said Patrick season ended last year. He was a teenager two years. I mean, it's so there's a lot going on their life. They have to experience it all they've they're going to experience the game. When it goes sideways. Always does for everybody. They'll come to it. They're all going to make a lot of money, right? All they have to do is stay grounded work hard. Stay in shape. Improve your game little by little at this. Point. And they're going to play till they're thirty five or thirty six thirty seven and they're twenty two or twenty or twenty. I mean, it's all going to come to them. Just be good players. Just be focused on that be really great player. There's nothing more to worry about for them. And that's my philosophy. I think at Aachen I think it is our philosophy as much as anything else. I mean, everybody we talk about it. I mean, we're having these guys Andy Scott here. An auto are rob Hooper wire Lou. You know, I meet with them. We talk about you know, where we going or Ben Hankinson Minnesota with Brock. And you know, it's really kind of that feeling. I mean, you know, we've got a deep player history and octagon, and you know, we kind of know this to be true, you know, kind of self evident facts, right? These guys are going to play along time. Just, you know, your your boots are here and in November. Let's just play in November. And let things unfold I don't wanna have for you is you there's the one of the biggest situations right now leagues knee Lander and reportedly, and I'm one of the people's reported this one of the issues is that he doesn't want to be too far away from the top salary players on Trump's roster. You went through a similar negotiations. Ri- settled mcdavid how much was that? A factor of where mcdavid was going to be. It's it's a factor. There's no question about that the dry style negotiation for me personally. I enjoyed it. Peter, and I had. You know, we got to a point where he approached me of the draft. He's I'm not avoiding I just I don't have anything else to say to. So to a point, you know, you kinda get stuck a little bit at times. But we went through a whole analytics thing, you know, that we did you know, he was looking at because they're playing together. And you know is with me without me. You know, that was it's a beta program, you know, and it was you know, who drives the play. And you know, our analytic said, hey, they drive it better when they're apart than together, which would make sense because you got to share the puck and drive it up that. And of course, you know, nobody drives it better than Connor mcdavid just gone for me. It was sort of intellectual discussion about how the game is perceived today, you know, his playoff success Leon's playoff success that year what he meant to the team where he what his attributes were going. So we're we're into analytics we're stepping out of analytics into what are I ball? See? And then you, you know, at some point you got to make a deal, which you know, we did. So Elliott asked smart questions, I asked goof, you hockey, whether it's Greg Harrison masks or. Perspire? I do have one last one for you. I've always wanted to ask some people like Jeff more than not true. I've always wanted to ask someone from that Hartford Whalers era this question and you played on one of these teams. Although we didn't realize it at the time you plan on one of the more remarkable Hartford. Whalers teams of all time because on one I can't remember the year. On one of those teams. You had Joel Quenneville Kevin Dineen. Doug, Jarvis John Anderson Ulf Samuelsson, Dave Tippett Tippett Ron Francis. On fantasy in Evanston players who went on to coach or mandate or manage regio, right Bradshaw..

"Lineup. The ticket to get in and includes food from the Montgomery in bourbon, tasting wine tasting and cigars. We got a three piece country band. The Derek Allen band. That's playing as we as we kinda come over from the game. Nice. Thank you my wife. But then you're gonna hear stories that you've never heard before, you know, from from our guys, you know, Sam wife is going to be there. Archie Griffin lopping coming after he finishes up his, you know, his radio and TV he's a big guy. Right. Bob Trumpy Jimmy breaks. You know, a lot of guys come on over there, y'all. John stolas gonna be there. He just kind of Papa John Stauffer original Bengals. Yeah. Y-y'all you'll hear stories like how I almost got fined for drinking beer in the Steelers locker room after a game, that's respect there. I wanna find out from Sam. I've never asked him this. But you know, when the Bengals drafted being seventy one war fourteen as soon as they drafted me. They traded him. He said boss around the league. You know when he got the head coaching job. He called me on New Year's day. And he said this was white head coach you got traded. I'm going to get even. It took him three years. Did he really tried to get even with me for getting him out of that we get to find answers to a lot of questions? Deep probing. Yeah. So again, the event right after the game at the Montgomery and boathouse tickets will be available at the door. The proceeds benefit that Ken Anderson alliance helping adults with disabilities. And it's going to be a great event. So if you have the opportunity to get over there after the game where he's do all we it's gonna be fun. All kenny. I'm gonna ask you these quarterbacks are all performing at such a high level and protecting the quarterback obviously is a league concern. No. How'd you like to be quarterback in these days you'd probably throw for six thousand? I'd stood at three you're still definitely. Seventy years old. I got a new right? That would be a record record. But you you look you look at what Andy Dalton's doing with Bill laser. And it seemed like you were that way with Bill Walsh, and Wendy and Fontenay in not only understanding what the offense was trying to do. But why they were trying to do it. I mean, that's isn't that the key is why are we doing and then you can get on the same in the same head as you're coordinating, your play caller that. That's exactly right. David. And of course, then experienced that Andy Scott he's seen a lot of different defenses..

"On that in a moment and chief meteorologist tom terry will be back with the full five day forecast as well i we want to welcome andy field from capitol hill and andy scott pruitt is out and the president said this was all on pruitt's own accord he's spoke to the president's spoke to reporters on air force one as they were flying to this campaign rally in montana today basically said quote scott pruitt did an outstanding job in the pa we gotten rid of recordbreaking regulation regulations you know obviously the controversies with scott but within the agency we were extremely happy his deputies been with them a long time he's looking forward to working with him that deputy of course being andrew wheeler the deputy epa administrator who will now become the acting administrator he was confirmed with free democratic votes all from red states although if he had to be confirmed again he might have a pretty big fight because he's mexico lobbyists and not almost cups on the same clause in terms of trying to get regulations to disappear scott pruitt as you mentioned the president still praising the work of scott pruitt now that mr wheeler comes in as acting administrator it can you clarify for us there's acting administrator means he's there he's like the interim administrator he will be the new administrator well he could be the interim administrator for quite some time we've seen this let's say just for the the the da enforcement agency they have not had a actual administrator there for the entire term president trump he's just had acting members just switched one out the president can do this without actually having to go through confirmation they don't have quite the same powers as if they were concerned but in in essence they can do the same job that a fully fullfledged administrative do and the president is happy to have that happen before the scott pruitt news you were working on the trump putin meeting the possibility of the trump team so long ago breaking news terms what what do you have on that well they're gonna meet in helsinki the middle the middle of july it's july already wow this summer's flying by but right after the july is like it a few days right exactly about a week he's going to have a one on one meeting in helsinki was vladimir putin not the first time they've met but the controversy here or at least the thing that's unusual is that he plans to get the room alone with putin and have a talk with him i guess just with a translator most the world leaders tend to shy away from that because they want to make sure they get exactly down on paper what they're discussing if they make any agreements and that could lead to a lot of misunderstanding or certainly a new tug of war publicly between russia the us if if they're not clear on exactly what they discuss and then of course the president's going to nato before that he had very frosty relations not only with the g seven which are some of the same members of nato but as well as nato and and certainly our allies are a little concerned that the president seems to have a better relationship with vladimir putin does with allies that have been friends with the united states for more than a half century while that is the certainly what we've been hearing from some folks but they'll be a lot of interesting talk up to the putin meeting and after the meeting for sure andy field on capitol hill for us tonight andy thank you as.
