"To more will go serandon and pete goodson. Alva follow up question if i could after this first one coach just. i know. It's a work in progress with chris jones. You know moving out the defensive end and it's a different world out there on the outside how difficult is it for. A guy who's always been thinking penetration to have that assignment to try to set the edge and in you know the just the difficulties that go into having that mindset and physically being able to do it. Yeah i listen based these last two games here then have been great for him. I get to the best run teams going so And this one here. He with the whole option element in it you. You've really got to be disciplined with it. And and when you sent the edge you can do not listen. I mean he can do that. That's not. He's begging these strong and he just has to key work in the fundamentals full speed and going going through it and some as as growing pains right now for him on a few plays now listening and if he plays to but that consistency ends up being important. When you're out there next to the next level guys at the linebacker level you know you're talking. Excuse me plus four yards there. Then you're talking another if they get past the linebacker level to the next level night. You know those are big hit. So it's important you know it's important to keep working and then As far as closing out a game I know offense guys have been so successful but now it seems almost like on both sides of the aisle both teams. Now no matter who it is. You're you're not only asked to go down and get a score. I if you're trailing mature also asked to get a score. Emily nothing on clock. How much is that evolved over time like that. Did that didn't used to be the thing right. If you could get down the field and score they throw a rape for you now or you wanna leave nothing out there. How how difficult is it to manage those both those things that you're trying to do. Yeah we've done well which allowed pride in that that we finish game. We didn't do that. This game i mean bottom line is we didn't get that accomplish and You know we we tighten messing up your little bit and take care of the the turnovers and take care of some of the things. I mentioned on the defensive side. Then then we become a better team and there's gonna be games where the offence carries a defense and are going to be times of the defense carries the offense and our guys understand. I just happens in this league But we're we're both playing together Well you know. We're tough to stop that way. So we've got to get that we've got to get that Roll in here and and Do a better job. And for both for both sides to have the The deficiencies that we had yesterday at key times. That's just you know a good team. You're not gonna come out on the side. Ibm and we'll ask to peter. Grant off with the kansas star could be out bonuses scored on all eight trips to the red zone. Is that an area where you definitely can see improvement one of those things. You're going to be working on. It has listen. We've spent a lot time. They all season with that. Worked at a ton and camp and then We haven't had the results here. We'll keep pounding that out until we get a right and You know it's one of those things early gets magnified when you're in the red zone or whether it's good or bad you're not tackling the field and it doesn't happen in the red zone. Do not get now blocked field than it's gonna get magnified the red zone. Everything's a little bit faster and everything gets all your strengths. Weaknesses get magnified. So you've got to you know you're gotta make sure that you get these fundamentals down. Take care of this. Episode was sponsored by picks. Wise hicks wise is the number one app of free sports. "It was a tough night on sunday night. Football as the chiefs. Lost thirty six to thirty five in baltimore. And after the and flying home chiefs head coach. Andy reid joined the local kansas city media for a zoom conference call and he had the opportunity to answer questions after watching the tape of this loss. Let's go to the chiefs head. Coach here is and you read all right. So listen Of what. I said last night when to good teams. Play each other you. Can't you know these mistakes just get amplified magnified and everything else. So it's a were said here with with two turnovers at a crucial time. The game setting here with The missed tackles more so in the first half in the second but enough there and shedding blocks fundamental things so we were better than that and so getting the right mindset to do so. I mentioned this last night. That's my responsibilities. That football coach. I've got to make sure that our team is playing better than what it is right now and and and we'll get. We've got the right chemistry in the locker room. Who got good players and gonna make sure that we step up our game. We've got a good charger team coming in here. The as as explosive really on both sides. Also we have made sure that we take your business. You punchers let's go. I a piece. Sweeney could beat. It should mention the tackling issues last night and this morning. How challenging is that to fix it on the fly. When maybe you can't clang bang necessarily like you were able to At training camp. Let's be. I thought we better with at the second half and some of that's a mindset not being so cautious rallying to the ball narrowing space for runners Again when you're being blocked shedding and then wrapping up those are all important things and and so but some of it's a mindset that you just have to take care of and So that's where where we go next to aaron land. Good air coast is not really question specific to the baltimore game but just looking across the league. A lot of talk about the new taunting rule. And how it's been enforced I'm wondering what you thought from from the early games and may be via conversation with guys. I know guys like sure their personality and have fun of. Maybe you've had a conversation. Yeah listen we explained to him the tiny roll the officials were in. They talked about it till the guys during camp so Were aware of it. And you see guys bill. Maher cautious with how they go about doing things Only score and so on so. I think You know. I think the officials done okay with that i I haven't seen anything in our games necessarily where they needed to throw flag on either team. So there's celebration but it's always been forget plays and i didn't think it was malicious towards one side of the from what i've seen. It's going to taylor. Good nate and i have two questions for you Just how do you think orlando brown played in his return to baltimore. And then secondly Give us some of the defensive issues. You mentioned earlier What was sort of the thought process and playing. Maybe wants thornhill less This sunday versus obviously against the browns as orlando Actually played very well Going back there you know he. He did a nice job and then I i think listen. I one and Dan i they do certain things the same and a couple of things different but it okay equals out. So i'm dan relieves. Had the you know he'd had the better camp and so on so Maybe a little bit more consistency there but we love. We love lawn and where he's coming. What works getting themselves back to where he was his rookie year and I want to take anything away from the effort that he's put forward to do that but and they they all get a chance apply so i think you know we'll just take it step by step hair and you can't have enough of those guys that can play next to mad derek goodman. Hey coach you mentioned last night. The the two runs on first and second half to win for losses. The kind of ledger getting into some third and long situations in through the first couple of games you know you're averaging just Three point three yards per carry in the run game. Anything you could put your finger on as far as how it's been a little bit difficult to get the run game going for you offensively. Yeah you know we've looked at that And there are there are a couple of days. We have to do And i think the back. Spain used to the the offensive line. And what they're gonna do certain tight situations i think is important and they build build the more they do it. Oh build confidence there. You know we'll hit it even a little bit quicker than what we're doing right now but i would anticipate getting better as we go on here. The losses were the thing that really probably heard us mad. I mean that you know. We had multiple penetration are a couple of plays and those. Those bad situation connects to todd. Lebeau tom coach last night. You were talking about clydes fumbled near the end. You hadn't had a chance to really look at it. Did you go back and see it yet. Did you have the ball in the right protection. Or is this kind of one of those plays and then is he someone as a young player who you might need to kinda help confidence wise after play like that in a big spot at solis. I mean. we're not putting the blame on anybody. Who takes her a message on how we roll and things happen. I mean that's the element of the game. And he's working through the land. Scrimmage with the ball you know thinking learn is as opposed possibly switching arms. Just keep that thing tight. Just cover with two hands and enroll But is not a fumble or mess not his deal and and then they'll be he'll be fine with it. I mean i think i'll players trust so But he can learn this. If we learn from mistakes we made the. We're gonna be a better team and and you gotta grow together in it. Sometimes there some highs lows of say in your work through it and try to get yourself better as coaches employees.

"I'm host an audio producer of the arrowhead. Pride podcasts networks steven certa on wednesday. The chiefs are back on the practice field. We heard from head coach. Andy reid quarterback patrick mahomes so as tackle orlando brown junior and linebacker. Nick bolton will kick things off in that order. We'll start with andy reid. Then you'll hear patrick mahomes. We'll take a quick time out. And then you'll hear from tackle orlando brown junior and linebacker. Nick bolton for challenge playing the ravens football team rogan football team. So we're aware that and we'll start off today preparation time. You're working here monday night. This is that kind of problem proposal. Be so vic. Sammy watkins fan. I like him as a human being. I like him as a player. And i wish him the best or playing them so i can't wait them the best for that for the rest of the season. I wish we should the heck of a question but report yesterday. That showed that way scared. Se of two part question here. Have you talked about that. And then what are your concerns about that. He might go to a college division. Yeah listen. I haven't really talked to him about that but i i know he's from that area and he's going to be great wherever he goes so and i'm his biggest fan so astounded if he wants to go there where he wants to go there. Lucky dab unless you guys know how feel on that of the world them. And i think he's a football coach and a great man so and you walk into obviously there but his first game going back into the race. Is there something extra. They come players in the first game. Especially when it's such china offered. Yeah they've got justin houston. They're there's a little bit of that going on in this game of knowing knowing people so and organizations. But i'm sure he'll be excited. I think what it really comes down to it though. He's going to focus on his performance. What he needs to do to to perform well so he's mature guy that waste now couple of years but did between the contains a billing list because of wessel about this against of our very well coached and they're they've got good players and so it's always a knock down drag out fight there and they're tough. That's the way they practice. That's the way you go about their business. And so we've got gotta make sure we prepare ourselves right for it. So every play is on his down when you play them Mournful yeah well. Both of them. Can they know how to run the football and you saw that even with the injuries that are taking place ran the ball. So i think they're office. Coordinator has got a tremendous respect for it. He he's got a great feel for run game. Lamar obviously as a huge threat. I mean he's just he can throw it to run it and he's smart so all those things go in likes to play the game so you gotta prepare yourself the right way. They're going on now. I think it's great they-they've again is a great human being. I think he's good for that organization in particular where they say you know what people perceive where sit now And he hasn't believing in tyrod is a i think he's a very good quarterback. Were i was lucky enough to have them in a pro bowl so got to work with them a little bit and now he has an opportunity to play and look like he took advantage of that opportunity very well back to the practice today. Coming from less state review wouldn't miss didn't have and report back. Yeah so. I mean he's a great player and and not taking anything away from the other guys. I mean they did a nice job back there. But you're obviously. I miss somebody like that. So he's wondering primers signal callers back there so be getting it back in that role and keep the communication. I've everybody's gonna play them. Those guys. it was great great experience for twenty two. Had a nice day problem for how he handles business He's still gonna play. So i mean he's going to have an opportunity he's in different different group. Is it out so but it'd be great to get around back when you talk about justin houston but they have gotten involved cliffs campbell. Wing guys of washington played a raiders with you. Love fast fast fast. They get the ball just as actually playing very well forum slight. Then i'm a fan of his too. So i mean he's a football player and he knows you knows this offense and so but those other guys they they play play hard and aggressive and you know you gotta be accurate. What you do in may help.

"Nfl season chiefs and browns on sunday at arrowhead stadium with it being game week didn't matter that it was labor day andy. Reid had his regular weekly press conference and the first thing he talked about was tired. Matthew tired matthew was added to the kobe nineteen list last week and as of right now he has not been able to come off each show. The protocol so we just have to Way that Series at melda. Mars would go on and do that was going to be the first quarter. So that's andy reid. Basically saying at this juncture. He's still in the protocol we will see if he'll be ready for the game. The reports have seemed to be somewhat positive that matthew will be able to come off. You may not practice this week but he might be able to play in the game. He's an one of a number of players on this team. Like patrick mahomes including this chris. Jones is included in this. I'm not really worried about the practice for these guys but you need them on sunday and so that is certainly something to as we head into this weekend. Yeah this is. This is the worst part of what we've had to endure The last two seasons is this uncertainty about these kinds of things and having so little information about it. It's it's bad and you know to read credit. He's he's not trying to give a bunch of sunshine. That isn't true. He doesn't know what's going to happen and And i think that It would be wrong for him to try and elevate our hopes when it isn't justified and so we're going to have to go into this game worried about it and there's just not much we can do about it except see how it plays out. Yeah the folks with regular regular injuries not really coverted issues running back. Clyde edwards layer had a hamstring issue as the preseason was wrapping up daryl williams was in the concussion protocol. Here's what andy. Reid said on the top two running backs heading into brown's week practices past where he can nice job with it. Look like they're moving around. Pretty good so i think we'll be okay. So by the sounds of that seems as though the chiefs running backs we'll be one hundred percent. It's not something we need to necessarily worry about. Going into brown's week as is the case once the regular season begins the can say whatever they want at the press conference we get the official injury report on wednesday afternoon which will post arrowhead pride dot com to get a better glints as to. Who's getting treatment what they're dealing with so on and so forth yeah. This is a in marked contrast to the preseason where you don't get any of that information right we're just left with whatever. Andy reid happens to tell us what he feels like telling us. So at least get something official now. That the the season is underway. Andy reid had his first comments about this cleveland browns team heading into this game and you can really hear it here. He goes through the position groups in a sense. I still talk about the defense. And then he talks about what they've been able to do offensively. Here's gotree solis. I mean they got heck football team and they feel like they've made themselves better this off season so i can understand why they've added some a few people in the secondary. They've added cloudy up front. And just you know. The wind backer. Position a little different. So and then offensively they. They've got a couple guys back so they're pretty good football players and and so they're they're fully loaded and you know they're good. They're well coach. Kevin's done a nice job. So we mentioned cloudy by name. That me is the significant addition. Because you're now pairing him. With what would be myles. Garrett along the line similar with chris jones now becoming an edge and yet frank clark jarran reed really boosting their line. The browns did that as well. My key matchup isn't clowning. Necessarily i interested in garrett against what will be lucas. neang lucas. Neang to me is the one wild card in a sense. He was away from the team. All of last year. I know that all the rookies and in a sensor wildcards but the yang to me is the most and this is as talented of a player to go up against a as you can find week one and the browns also boosted their secondary. So they'll be trying to lock down their receivers which way easier said than done. And then andy. Reid also highlighted. Some of the guys are getting back and the big elephant in the room that is an. Nfl superstars wide receiver odell beckham. junior is expected to play on sunday. So we just rounding up all those things. Yeah and i think it's a that's a that's a big one right there He's a he's a big part of what well any team that has him would consider him a big part of their offense and So that's that's definitely a big puzzle piece that that wasn't part of the equation last time. So yeah that's going to be a big one. It seems like the dog pound has a love hate relationship with. They'll i have seen some things are where they're like. Are we better team without odell beckham junior. I'd like to think no. Although when i was covering the alex smith jamaal charles chiefs. I thought they were some weeks where it almost seemed like extracting jamal and not having andy reid having the pressure to run the football because we would always count up those jamaal charles touches. Yeah sometimes made the chiefs offense. I don't wanna say better but more fluid because when odell is on the field. He's just such a talented player. We're fans will go after the game and see. We only through though. Del beckham junior twice and it could sometimes store you off now. What helps they made the playoffs. Last year they were able to get over that humping wild card weekend and beat the pittsburgh steelers and it seems like kevin's defence. Key really has a good head on his shoulders. He reminds me a little. Bit of andy reid. When he's speaking to the media not really wanting to give them all that much so. The media said like trying to figure out and circumvent and find ways to get little bites. But yeah i think generally you're better team. When odell beckham junior is on the field like let's not be crazy about that. Well absolutely yeah. How could you not be. That'd be like saying. The chiefs aren't as are fine without tyreek hill or travis kelsey. No they're not right. You know these guys are important to the offense. Just like oh. Bj is andy. Reid also emphasized the importance of sunday's matchup. Despite it being the first game of the year it is interesting in the phenomenon where it just seems like the games december matter a bit more than maybe they would in september and so he was really talking about. What gets the team up for a game number one. I mean listen. It's the first game and it's one of seventeen so you it's it's as important as the rest of them. It's just it's happening now in its. There's nothing before this has gotten you to this point so there's unknown so i mean there's knowns if you're on the offensive side of the ball wants defense go do have your other david's aside what y'all do what are the new looks special teams that they're gonna throw at you so there's a little bit more unknown that you would have as you get through the third and fourth game of the season so you you. That's the part. I get excited about like your it gets your juices going. Plus you get to start to see. I mean that's always exciting and here we started home which is which is great against a very good football team so a lot of unknowns that will get answered.

Hundred percent connects to sam mcdowell. Good sam brad. That was actually my question. I'm good thanks. Sandy next to matt derek. Hey coach and you've been asked before about you know the fact that you know early in the season you get up to hot starts and i know that you don't necessarily feel like there's any magic formula or anything to what you do but at the same time. What is it about this time of year. That gets your juices flowing that get you excited for the start of the season. And what do you tell the guys that gets them up for to me. Listen it's the first game. It's one of seventeen so you it's. It's as important as the rest of them. It's just it's happening now in its. There's nothing before this has gotten to this point so there's unknowns there's unknowns if you're on the office side of the ball wants to defense kim do if you're on the divas aside what y'all do what are the new looks special teams that they're gonna throw edgy. So there's a little bit gore unknown that you have as you get through the third and fourth game of the season to you That's the part. I get excited about your get your juices going. Plus you start to see. I mean that's always exciting here. We have to start at home. Which is which is great against a very good. Football team connects to pete. Sweeney could be. Because i know that clyde and darryl just a little bit banged up toward the end camp in and and that f- left preceding really. See them so. Just curious your expectation that they'll both be one hundred percent to go off or something you know so. They practiced this past week. Nice job with it. Look like they're moving around. Pretty good so i think we'll be okay coach. It looks like that's all we've got for you. Thanks for joining us. Okay thanks guess If you wanna stay with me or a hit a button and you guys..

2021 QB Consensus Rankings: Who Takes the No 1 Spot?

"Jump into our consensus rank. So is what we did here for. Anybody that doesn't understand. Consensus ranking each of awesome rank our quarterbacks from one to thirty two and then we come up with the kind of the average comes up with the consensus. I did thirty three. i'd include sam darnold. Oh okay wow. I'd so our number one quarterback. God mahomes a sexy. Is patrick mahomes. Hattie mahomes no surprises. Mahomes being number one. I think he's pretty much. Everyone's consensus one going into the quarterback position this year except for you. Thanks trial a segue. I have lamar. Jackson has my number one no surprise. Probably based off the trivia. Very lamar related both because of his his rushing upside by yes. Mahomes is not a far distant to put it that way over his last year's starter he finished as qb one in two thousand eighteen. He was cube seven and two thousand nineteen and he missed two and a half games that season and then he was q. Before last year missing a game if mahomes plays all seventeen games. He's a guaranteed top five quarterback with potential. Qb one overall like we've seen in the past and unlike the next four or five guys. He doesn't offer a huge amount of rushing upside. he does offer two to three hundred dollars. but much difference than you know. You're rushing upside type quarterback yeah. He has the highest ceiling of any quarterback. And as safe of a floor is any quarterback. And i think that's a really really important combination to have. It's crazy how consistent. He's been with the fact that he isn't a huge rushing quarterback. He certainly runs more than a lot of other quarterbacks in the league but he does it through the air. He's averaged over twenty four fantasy points per game since entering the league. Which is absolutely incredible. He's got the best weapons in the. Nfl andy. reid is a phenomenal head coach. He is so safe as long as he is healthy. Yeah i agree with that. I just disagree on the part where you said. He has the highest upside. Because i don't think he does. I think lavar does just his rushing and you can project the marta have more passing yards. You can't really project. Mahomes rushmore the only argument against that. I don't think he has the highest potential. Now that we've seen what lamar can

"And patrick mahomes and now we continue on with tyronn matthew. I know that you've got a lot of contract questions that this past off season. I'm just curious when it comes to the kansas city chiefs organization. How much of a desire of yours is it to perhaps finish your career and kansas city. I know that you plan on playing probably another eight to ten years. Probably top of the list You know who's been everything i asked for. S for me. I feel like i can play football anywhere but when you develop relationships with certain people you know these people become audio life so co spags coast merit Goes goes ruben. Our strength codes. All these men important. It took me. So i can't see me. You know ever kind of walked away from from narrowness ship up into a lot in my life and So for me. I think you know. Holding onto certain relationships that kind of outweighs any monetary thing. You know any short feeling or emotion. I may be dealing with in a moment. Going to schaefer could make hay. Taryn you kinda fired. Back on bells criticism of andy reid. I was wondering spent almost a year in the locker room within. What what do you think he feels. That way. i'm not sure Novice feel like it was a great teammate. When he when he was here You know obviously you know things. Don't blow away you notice a performance base business center you know. It's a lot of things that determine our performance right. It's not just what we do on the football field Bound wishing and wishing him the best mobile get better for him but I mean this is probably one of the finest organizations. I've ever been a part of Bars a lot room Transparent honest and i think in this business land. That's really all you can ask for. Right is honesty. You know from coaches. Because they don't happen to us the truth you know so but i do feel like coast reading his staff. You there there. There are some of the best people coaches you know. I've been around Mcdowell a tyrant. You've always been one of the more approachable guys in the locker room. I'm wondering what you thought of this. Last year we've had to go virtual. What's it been like for you talking to us through zoom instead different You know. I mean i feel like i'm a transparent guy whether we're impersonal virtual but I think being a for people you know having people see you in person I think that kinda takes you along the way than you know. The perch will Faso days that really get back to normal. Not just for you guys. Well that We have a football season. We we all work. We all pray for so really just hoping for more enormously going forward to adam teicher. But i don't know how you doing today. Could want to ask you about something you said a minute ago. You talked about your relationship with relationships. With andy and spagnuolo and barry rubin and coach merit. "The chiefs wrapped up their three day. Mandatory minicamp on thursday and after the fitness test. Put head coach. Andy reid quarterback patrick mahomes and safety and matthew up at the zoom podium. So on this podcast. We will go in that order. you'll hear from the head. Coach will continue on with the quarterback. And we'll finish up with safety tired matthew. The first step here is the head coach of the the chiefs. Andy reid law. Start off the snow injuries to talk about. We'll get to all that once. Get to camp and would enroll from there but for our way Dodgers first adam. Teicher good at a couple of things. I i wanted to get your thoughts on how this portion of the off season what you felt like you got out of otas minicamp. Brattle had a second question is well listen. I told the players said i fly appreciated their attendants During during this time. I will have a lot of new faces so it gave us a great introduction to the office depot special team so Which i thought was was huge for us. And then we'll go ahead and fine tune. Everything was we get up to once we get up to training camp but again. I thought it went. Well adam them. I liked the attitude of the guys that came and ready to work. And that's what they did. They finished up here with a little conditioning drill and they degrade on that so there. They've got a good mindset. As as coaches whipper shaker. Okay and one guy. I've been meaning to ask you about his jerick mckinnon on. What did you guys like about him. How do you see him fitting in to steamy. Give you something that your other backs. Don't give yeah so While he's experienced he's been he's been known that awhile and he does well he he's good. This was more passing camps more than running cash but he has a nice feel of the of the past game and look forward. I i look for to give given the whole package once we once we get up there and let's see we do What what was playing real football next to her. Gop got good morning coach. I very two questions your for your clothes. The first one's kind of follow up on what atom asks. You mentioned a appreciate the players phone. What is your comfort level at this stage heading into training camp when you compare it to last year when you have this portion of the offseason workout program on on these zoom calls as you know i mean can you can install. You can do all that that you talk about. Fundamentals and techniques. But you can't you can't work on and that's just blow it's real So The this gene opportunity actually run the play and work on the fundamentals and techniques and let the players the coaches evaluated evaluated their last season To sit there and help them better with with the again techniques finals it. They might be so. I think it's a win win. I think it's great to have the technology of at the same time. I think it's important that we were still able to get him on the field. And i said this before. I get support of the coaches hamlet. The right way and try to get the players to save as they possibly can that for us that means giving up the right lane game part of it. We did that versus air bags but we. We didn't do it against each other than that. That's what we do. You know so you gotta try to keep them safe as you possibly can include. Finally travis kills you on. Tuesday expressed surprise at some of the comments. That levy on bell me. Are you aware of what was your reaction to that. I really enjoyed my time with a beer so I appreciated the way it handled things and does business and has productive downs for us. And i'm pulling for him in the future. I mean that's how that's how rural people say things they say. Then so i move on. I wish him the best. you know. pete. Sweeney good morning coach. Just because we won't get you now for another month in change here. You'd said patrick mahomes was able to go full because it was a passing salad camp. How much is your expectation with. The dachshund stuff that he's going to be able to be one hundred percent when you running stuff quarterback scrambles out of structure. When you get to camp. That i mean we were. We were cautious with them. He he'll he'll do anything. And so you know it's just a matter that we were. We were smart to be as far as we possibly could with. It and his communication was great. He kept it open with us and we checked with them and make sure and see how he was doing during practices. And not just the first day but you wanna check on third day too so To see how and he made it through thick. This is good for him We'll see how he feels. Once we get up to camp. He sure got a lot of work. Done here came out film. Forget next a man mullet goodman coach clyde yesterday and he said at one area to prove this offseason passing game as a receiver. How much coach you appreciate it. When a young player comes with a specific thing they want to work on yeah. I think that's good. You know we. We didn't have a huge expanded role for him in the past game. Just kinda Swing of the defenses at the. Nfl plays in all but run plays that we have the rows away. Didn't have the time everybody but we've tried to give them a little bit more this offseason and he's handled it well before to get him of training camp where we can keep on in.

"Story will bring back in. Involves these relationships in the nfl between coaching quarterback that we've talked about several times when you have that you know you got something special when the coach and the quarterback are on the same page when they kind of have that unity. You saw what. What tom brady. And bruce arians able to do right away You obviously see what you have in kansas. City greg's andy. Reid patrick mahomes these. These duos are very important. We thought maybe. Sean mcvay jared goff where we're going to be that power couple. They did get to a super bowl but then things broke up pretty quickly there. And sean mcvay is this guy that clearly is the excitable one out of the two right is that goes without saying so mcveigh. Listen to how he talks about how he feels about now having matthew stafford at his as his quarterback and he did this during a press conference to promote the super bowl in. La in the rams head coach. Let's just say gushed very heavy. Thank you seem like you're in a better mood aussies. You're damn right. I am so this guy He's a special guy. One of the best ways that i can describe him when you hear people that have been around him. There's a there's a known confidence where it when he walks into a room noah's field presence but he's got a great humility about himself at. Everybody loves being around him and he's one of those guys that is it true igniter makes everybody around him better. I feel like i can come up better. Coaching a few months that we've been able to spend together and we're looking forward to get things together. Sounds pretty excited about this new relationship. He's got about stafford and all he can bring in all he's already brought to the franchise what it means to him. Are the Kansas City Chiefs Going To Land Julio Jones?

"Let's talk. julio jones my friend. Because i mean look it's a long shot i'm going to say it oddsmakers think it's a long shot. The chiefs are thirty. Three to one odds to land. Julio jones in a trade which is way longer odds than many many other teams. So las vegas does not think. Julio jones is going to land in kansas city but julio jones is gonna land somewhere and it sounds like it's not in philadelphia this year. Where are you at all this. I'll say this vegas didn't think phil mickelson was going to win this as last major. Guess what a that happened. So i don't know where julio jones is gonna land. I do think. Kansas city actually makes sense. I'm surprised vegas hasn't bumped it up a little bit as based on the past knowledge of how aggressive brett. Vh is the fact that julio jones said he wants to play for a winner he wants to play for a contender. You sit basically said give me the hell out of atlanta. You know If you wanna play for winter you wanna play for a contender. You wanna play for a good quarterback now you kate. A city checks all those boxes. You have a hall of fame coach. Andy reid i would. I would think that those numbers would be higher. What are your thoughts on this. Well let me kick it back to you with this. Albert breer reported today that basically that would probably take second round. Pick to get julio jones. Now that's it like. I think it sounds good on paper. Yeah i think it sounds good on paper to julio jones. i'm probably in the conservative camp of. I think the chiefs are already more loaded than any other team out there. They've already gotten their the last two years. I don't care what the bills in the browns have done. The chiefs are gonna make mincemeat of them. Whatever they play so. I don't know that we need julio jones so so you know to me. I'd rather keep that second round pick

Was actually impaired and should not have been behind the wheel of a car. We don't have the toxicology back. I don't know what it is going to be. What I do know are the statements that he made to police the night of if you have 2 to 3 drinks, and then you get behind the wheel of a car, you are likely over the legal limit. Do you believe he should face charges for this? Absolutely absolutely. But we're gonna be advocating for the most serious charges in the most serious sentence that Britt Reid could receive. Reed has had no communication with the family and his attorney says will have no comment at this time. His father, Cheese head coach Andy Reid, addressed the incident. One day after the Super Bowl. Chiefs place Robinson, Kilgore on COVID-19 list

"This coming down. Just moments ago. Adam schefter saying the chiefs placing center daniel kilgore and wide receiver demarcus robinson on the reserve covid nineteen list due to close contact. You see diana receive their. She's been covering the chiefs all week long diana. They didn't address this. Kobe news because it came up right at the end of media day. But you were talking to all of them throughout so tell us what you learned. Yeah well. I gotta give a lot of credit to this. Kansas city chiefs team who are in kansas city missouri. Twelve hundred miles away from where the super bowl action is all going down starting today and these guys were having a lot of fun they were bringing the energy this virtual so it's very hard to have a lot of energy and to have fun but they did a really good job laura. Let's start with the most important thing i learned. And that's andy. Reid is going to have a double cheeseburger waiting for him at the end of the game. If they win if you remember he had one last year. That was the meal he ate after. They want kidding. That's not the most important thing but something that did stand out with. Patrick mahomes was talking about. When tom brady met up with him after the afc championship game. Two years ago remember the chiefs lost at arrowhead and our jeff jolly was actually down on the ground and he was the one who spotted this. He saw tom. Brady walk over to a security guard and asked to talk to. Patrick mahomes the security guard. A little surprise like okay. I'll figure it out for you. Well he was able to find him a little room in the equipment room. And that's when they brought patrick in radiant ham had a conversation. Take a listen to what patrick learned about it for me. I think it was important because it showed that. I was doing things the right way as a young quarterback in this leading You you gotta go in he or early trying to put it in the time and the work But you don't really know until you get to that that that spot of where you wanna be at Losing an afc championship game. Obviously i didn't get to the super bowl. But then him tell me anything kind of just just saying that he respected what i was doing and how i was planning filming the type of person that i was A kind of best on me to go any new better In order to get the super bowl which we did last year. And i'll just trying to keep improving and keep getting better every single day. We asked andy read about it. He said he didn't enter. Didn't see the conversation. But he said he heard about and he was obviously very grateful. That brady took that time to talk to his young quarterback but re did make a point With the reporters today to say that they are so happy. There in missouri no distractions very few media obligations. It's all football. Football football are

Philadelphia Eagles head coaching search tracker

"Cody. Thanks for coming back on. I in the enemy man. How are you. I'm doing great great to be with you. I'm excited to talk some football absolutely and let's jump right in to the eagles. Coaching search here. Because more names get added to this list everyday to say that the eagles have cast a wide net would be understating it a little bit. You tweeted out. And i think it was either yesterday or today but as a recording. This on the fourteenth is was on the thirteenth. You tweeted out a whole list of names. We've got carolina offensive coordinator. Joe brady tennis offensive coordinator arthur smith san francisco defensive coordinator robert soleil tampa bay defensive coordinator. Todd bowles new england linebackers coach. John mayo kansas city quarterbacks coach mike kafka philadelphia assistant head coach do staley oklahoma head coach lincoln riley ohio state head coach ryan day. Cincinnati head. Coach luke fickle and more are coming each and every day and i know among eagles fans. You know we see this as a pretty dysfunctional team right now. We see this as an organization. That doesn't seem to know exactly what they're doing and we're skeptical as to whether or not a a really high profile coach is going to want to come here given the list of names here. Where are you at on this eagles. Coaching search as there really are just getting started right. Now yeah and we saw it just kellen more added today and obviously you know they're going to continue to cast the net and i think just in general. I think there's a little merit to the idea that you know when you compare openings. The eagles aren't A bursting with attraction just because of the situation. I mean Doug peterson clearly. If the reports are to be believed is is kind of worn down from from this run with eagles. And but i honestly don't put too much stock into this idea that they're undesirable because at the end of the day there's thirty two jobs. There's thirty two head. Coaching jobs in the nfl. We see guys in view with with teams like the jets and the jaguars every coaching cycle. Yes they sometimes have high picks so they sometimes have a lot of cap space but at the end of the day. It's nfl fell head coaching job. You can't tell me you know if you're joe brady and you're getting interest from all these teams. I mean you're not going to just not going to turn down the opportunity and so And eventually some of the spots are gonna get filled For me i mean i. I start for the eagles with looking at the offensive side of the ball. I know that's it's a big talking point. Jeffrey lurie with with you know really any eagles fan. That's been under or watching. Jeffey larry hires run. The team I i think really it comes down to are you going for You're gonna have to sacrifice somewhere. Because with somebody like joe brady even kellen moore. You're really banking on them. Being kind of an offensive mastermind and up and coming mastermind as opposed to this Person who's been around the league for years and respected and you know doug peterson even though he didn't have head coaching experience. Jeffrey loria himself talked about that emotional intelligence he talked about. Doug peterson former quarterback. In this league he had time under andy reid and so i. I think it's just a matter of where are they gonna sacrifice. Because if they go with robert. Sal the forty niners you're sacrificing. You might bring in a nice offensive coordinator with them but he may leave here for another head coaching job. And so what do they want. We're gonna find out.

Las Vegas Raiders face 'daunting task' with COVID-19 issues ahead of game vs. Kansas City Chiefs

"Kid city chiefs at eight point favorite leg. I said we'll get to that in a second on the road against the vegas raiders on this game. Fifty six and a half. We will have. John cheering on later. I'm sure he'll be able to explain whether slightly above the market pain. i have to believe. That's all covid related to be quite honest. The raiders defense in the contact tracing protocol. We're not quite sure. If i'm going to have to get called up to play safety and let me tell you my foot speed not enough to slow down tyreek hill and open spaces really wouldn't say i mean i might try and slew coming off the line. That'd be my only shot. so listen. I the raiders offensive game plan back in week five was good. Obviously but the halftime adjustments that. Paul guenther in the raiders. Defensively really is what i think won them the game. It's really what gave the chiefs offense trouble. You really hadn't seen that from the chiefs offense before during this. Patty mahomes like run especially against the defense of that caliber. You go back to week. Five in the second half. Kansas city was successful. Only twenty one percent of their snaps. One point to carry twenty eight percent success rate through their moms is pressured. A ton the raiders. Were able to do something in that game. They hadn't been able to do most of the season which is get pressure vegas. Twenty six on the season pass rush win rate and then obviously after a few good games. Recently where the raiders have been able to apply some pressure to quarterbacks. They've surged to an average defense in pressuring the week. Five game if you look at some of these numbers. Mahomes was pressured on forty. Seven percent of total dropbacks specifically from eleven personnel. Were kansas city. Essentially lives seventy three percent of the time moms pressured on fifty seven percent of those three wide sets. I would envision off the bye with the little extra motivation of not. Just losing to the raiders but but kansas city not being really happy about gruden and the gang taken victory laps around the the stadium there drivers using using the loudspeaker thereafter the week. Five win that Andy reid is probably gonna come with a pretty good game plan here and you know past the success that andy. Reid is hat off the bye. You mentioned this. The raiders are are probably going to be without a few key defenders but You know another handful of defensive players are going to miss practice all week due to this contact tracing. It's probably isn't the offense that you wanna face short handed in in pissed off and not having practiced to four. I would think. I also believe we'll probably see a little more play action for mandatory. You know patty mahomes in the chiefs past game will probably fair little bit. Better here with play action. Especially if if the pressure starts to barrel down. I would also think that it's worth mentioning that three chiefs offensive lineman or on the cova the list it's believed to be contact tracing but we'll have to see this certainly make this game a little bit different. If if all three of those offensive lineman are out. You also expect sammy. Watkins to return in this game us a full practice participant on wednesday so he should be a full ghost that they're gonna have their their complement of weapons out there. The number in this thing is is really interesting. But i think that this tougher makes a lot of sense. I i just don't see. Kansas city's offense not bouncing back here in a major way talk. i mean. They're playing with a chip on their shoulder. Which is always dangerous to begin with. We've seen their passing offense. That was more a work in progress. Probably the nicest way to put it early on in the season and no doubt that was by design. Get on track with mahomes during for more than eight hundred yards the last two games when you look at the way. Mahomes performed against the raiders. Fifteen total touchdowns just two interceptions one of them of course coming earlier this year the chiefs loss as a double digit home favor and i think it's pretty staggering to know what costs kansas city. That game is the fact that hey look. They finished a net negative minus sixty four in terms of rushing yards. The raiders held the ball for nearly eleven minutes longer and kansas city knows that they can hit the home runs. That are widely available. If they keep mahomes operate i think. The raiders passing defenses. You mention it may trending in the right direction. There's no doubt a lot of optimism out here around the raiders especially on the defensive side of the ball. This is a different beast that they're going to try and counter and with sammy watkins back amongst others. I just don't know where the raiders consistently find a way to get off the field. I agree with that. And i get it. You have to young corners in trayvon mullin in our net and people are thinking to themselves like. Hey we're trending in the right direction. We're starting to get some pressure. Would you look you play at the browns. The total is suppressed because of weather and wind. You're at the chargers. It's likely a a lost game. If two guys can hold onto football on the back corner fate and then the broncos last week and drew lock was clearly injured after taking a hit in the second quarter but you could have been trailing at halftime in that game so listen. I think the raiders are better than we all expected. You look at who they've lost to. It's it's the bills box and patriots. All pretty good teams obviously bucks in bills being very good patriots. You know with bill tough spot. There is well off the monday night game traveling across the country. So i get the by of the raiders. I just need to see more defensively to believe it's real and so that that's kind of where i'm out on that unit. I fully expect kansas city to do some good things here. Offensively

Chicago Bears: Matt Nagy handing over play-calling duties

"And let's see if the bears moving offensive coordinator duties will be money on the field tonight. Normally it's mad nagy their head coach. He's been offensively inclined. That's why the bears hired him away from kansas city where he was working under andy reid but with the bear struggling. They're handing over play calling duties to bill laser. He's been in the nfl for a while. We'll get into his bio in just a second to see what you can expect on monday night football when the bears. The bears take on the vikings. Here's matt nagy essentially saying. I didn't really want to do this. But i've been around long enough to know i kind of had to do this. I've been around. Obviously one of the greatest head coaches in the history of this game and coach reid and of the best play callers in the history of this game co treat reid and for me in that time where he was able to show the trust in me at that point to give it to me to to run the offense and call the plays there was a little bit of a change and sometimes when you're in this position that we're in right now you wanna make sure that you're looking for solutions and you know you can always talk about execution. You can always talk about teaching. You can always talk about all facets of the game but this year with me going through that and seeing what can come from it. I just think it's it's the right thing to do. And we'll see where it goes. Laser been a longtime. Nfl assistant key the eagles the bengals. The dolphins is actually the oc for the dolphins for a couple years falcons washington football team seattle in more subordinate position. So he's been around the block. Tell me what this means i. It just means dead the pressures on in whenever you see a coach head coach playcaller give up play calling duties this late in the season. That tells you the pressures on in conversations have been had that they've got to figure out another way to generate points because clearly the will matt nagy calling. The plays was not working and if he continued to call the plays and continue to go the way that has been going. There's a large chance of the possibility that he may not be retained after the season. So he's trying to fix it before they get to that point which is smart on his part. I mean look when you go to. This is when you go to this. This is the last stop right. this is right. This is the last stop. We gotta turn it around because if we don't chances are i'm going to have for sale sign point in january in front of my house on the the reality of what they have to make the playoffs in your expectation for matt. Nagy not to lose his job i would. I would think so. But i'm but i'm not the owner of the team but i would say that for the general manager matt nagy to be back with me and twenty twenty one. They've got to get to the playoffs especially we started off with a quarterback that we drafted several years ago. It was the second pick in the first round. We went away from him. We listened to you by going out and getting nick foles and now we missed the playoffs. I can't bring you back.

"Question. How did he do? Okay. So here's the thing about Joe Brown. This is why I think you like him so much. Oh, it's a really great quarterback that just plays hockey team. So he's like your deck Prescott your a bitch. I thought you were like the light bulb in my head went off last night when I was watching it. I was like, well, he's a good little quarterback like Dak Prescott. He just plays for no wonder Jasmine likes them so much. By the way, I have you know you Optimus Prime Don the word shity so it cut out on you said shity team. That's all right. I show you going to say that we were going to like look we could be an item now. I'm just disappointed. Oh, I'm sorry. Now he's to you guys wouldn't match very well. He's back to blonde hair doughy eyed, you know, he still has his dreams and happiness. I was just that his way too innocent for you. You know, you just strip him of all of it off. I would fare. I tend to do this with all men though. Let's be real I tend to slowly take away their hopes dreams, you know their desk for Life their happiness any kind of happiness life. It's it's what I do to all the men that are in my life. Okay, so so that's your analysis which fuck off so that's no that's my analysis regards to jobber. Okay, my analysis in regards to the Browns. All right. Here's the thing about the Browns obj less. Always he had headlines Amy. Okay. This team has a boss ass offense page. There is no reason why they shouldn't be scoring touchdowns all the fucking time. I mean think about the players that they have Nick Chubb Fremont who both went off last night Jarvis Landry. I mean you couldn't get you can get that is a fantasy leagues dream right here, right? Yep. There is no reason why this team shouldn't be amazing because you know what their defense is really cool. Good to this team should be really competitive and making the playoffs and they're not understand now Grandma, who knows what's going to happen tell you what happened last night watching this game Baker Mayfield just he changed into a different person. Like when he like a human in a good way in a good way when he came off the field. He didn't go and sit down on the bench. He stood on the sidelines and watched his defense playing and then he I mean he rallied those guys. He was not going down to Joe burrow. I mean, you could totally he's like, there's no fucking way. This guy's going to show me up and there's no way I'm losing to the fucking bangles and you know what he totally carried his team. He really truly did stepped up it was offensive. Now if they can do that every single weekend this team is really like it has all the weapons that it takes to be a fantastic team which made me. Made me Ponder the fact that there's some teams that you just expect to lose and then there's some teams that you expect to win like the team's you expect to when you expect the steel real attacks right now. You expect the Cal you expect to win. You don't expect the Lions or the Bangles or the Browns. I mean the low-hanging fruit, you know, you don't expect those teams to win. So when they have when they have rosters long, the Browns have their own turning into a team that you they should be winning with what they have. So it sounds to me that the Browns are basically like if you're looking at it from a fantasy league point, it's the guy in league who basically cheese his way to get the best team because everybody else is internet either sucked or they were on auto draft or they forgot there was a draft right? That's the guy in the if you're equating it to a fantasy team roster birth. Okay. Number one. I liked it. You know I prematurely said shut up about the Cowboys cuz I thought you were going to say that you expect them to lose and I like that you're saying that you expect them to win because that's what you do you absolutely suck. Oh you that's what we do problem. That's where we are a we are an elite Lord team. Anyway, that's what you're going with I am. Well, I don't know the baker Mayfield is still a shitstain to me so good for him rallying his team. He's still a shitstain. I do love his Progressive commercials their home like the latest one. Yes. They are the latest one where he's like. Oh, it's getting ready to rain. Help me cover the furniture. And two guys like you mean the stance he's really good in those commercials. If you could only be as good a quarter as he is in those commercials. We would be set the dog pound would be set. Well, we are you a dog pound or now. I mean, I you know, I have a soft spot for the Browns just cuz they always lose. And ever since that movie came out draft day with Kevin Costner yet. Oh, I'm out. I'm done with you. done with you Amy. Your brown spot is showing. I know I know you know, I just I'm weird that way I don't understand it. Either it is I don't either try to figure you out every day and I just you know, I do too and since I'm like, oh I get myself today and then sometimes I'm like now he's nope don't understand myself today, but that's okay. That's most of us as well. Amy. So rest assured you're not in Company by yourself. I think it is twenty-twenty it is. Okay. Well that's sad because now Joe burrow Hollow be his name Falls 200 and two. Yeah, it does and but you know what this guy he's he's a good quarterback. He is is there he should be in his helmet I think time to get mr. Guys. Sometimes he tries to carry his offense which isn't great because then he gets pummeled by pencil like he got pummeled last night several times. Well, you sure. Why does LSU brain sure what he's trying to win? And I totally get it. But at the same time he needs careful because you know, oh, he's a starting quarterback in the NFL. Well getting them know and you just see a lot of what he was doing at LSU that worked and I think you know like every rookie has this learning curve right where you come out transition from college to the big leagues and it's like, oh, okay, it's funny cuz I was like really different style of football right? I said to Bruce last night. I'm like, surprised that they just threw this guy in the deep end. I mean they just started. Oh totally, I mean, they didn't granted he dangles. What else do they have? I'm. That's the problem. They don't have anything else but you know like places in my where to get backing up Fitzpatrick that makes sense. It makes sense for him to kind of, you know way into the NFL same thing with Dwayne Haskins, you know, he he was back up for a while until he kind of learned his name. Yeah, now Joe girl, man. They just threw him in the deep and they're like here you go, bro, you go bu. Yeah. Well, you know what gotta he is trying I mean, he's playing his ass off out there. No he is but he is and that's why I'm like super team Joe burrow like we gotta do this man. Like I'm telling you. It's the stogie. We'll do it get this guy that mean that you're a Bengals fan know how fucking no. No, I like. Oh bji in a Browns fan. I like Joe burrow Ina Bengals fan, you know, I will always bleed silver and blue Amy. That's the only color I would leave home. Anyway, let's move on to the Chiefs. Okay, love us and Pat Mahomes you love some Andy Reid do that cheaper mofo back, right? So Andy Reid's big old windshield mask that he had on. When was it last week? I can't remember. Yeah. We're only in week to segregated windshield wipers. Yeah, so people were like what the hell and so like it was fogging up. You couldn't see shit, but this may be a thing. This may be a thing coming to a coach near you because off on the first Sunday of the NFL season when this happened several coaches were seen either one not wearing masks or to not wearing them properly because the mask police were out and the league is not going to stand for that. It's currently vice president of football operations. Troy Vincent issued a memo this week saying protocol requires all individuals with bench area access including coaches and members of the club medical staff to wear face coverings at all times failure to adhere this requirement will result in accountability measures being imposed against offending individuals and or clubs. However, Amy, there is no word on what those accountability measures will be so that to me that phrase is what kind of sticks out to me. What does that mean? do you do find them? Probably I mean you can look dead. Here's the thing. They're coaching on the sidelines of talking into Mike's they have to be able bird they have to be able understood. It's really hard for all of the to happen on your face plus all these guys are around each other all the time. They're all you know, I practiced together around the field. They're hitting each other all in each other's faces, you know, I mean and how many people have tested positive since the start of season one? Yeah. They did a very good 2700 players so very good job with with that right off because like you said, they've been implementing measures. They've been following the rules, you know, they've been testing a lot, you know, we got into this, you know leading into this actual season. Jeez, how many coronavirus updates that we talked about on this podcast about hey, this is what the League's doing. This is what they're making them do kind of thing. So something is clearly working. It's really great to see that that's positive news that you know that they're only seeing that wage. Chat, I think I that they should I really think they should go with a handy read mask to be quite honest can still see the coaches face. The microphone can kind of be up underneath it. So they may be able to understand what the coaches saying and and you're shielded. You know, when somebody comes up to your face, you know, I mean, think that that's fine but having to wear them like when it's just, you know covering your face in your nose again, like it's hard for me to understand people when they're wearing a mask and talking to me. Yes, I mean, so imagine imagine being on the field the quarterback coaches saying the guys in booth coordinators up in the booth are trying to understand what the guys on the field coordinators on the field are trying to say, I mean, it's just it's a it's crazy. So it's a shitshow you gotta be able to walk. You gotta be able to your job. I would take that looking like I've got the windshield of a Camry in front of my face the whole time vs Lee having something on my mouth cuz that's frustrating me. Yeah. Give me the telephone number. Windshield all day long over the you know, suffocating face masks which by the way speaking of Tesla. Did you see that their reports of some them being janky like getting like parts that were like really cheap shity on some of the Tesla's that were falling apart marvelous. I know so yet twenty-twenty doesn't happen. Just wanted to put that in there for you. All right coming up next in offsides, you know fall like we said is upon us. Although you wouldn't know here in Texas. It's still like an anus outside but here's something for your home that will make it fall feel less anus e okay Mom handles some new ones that are coming out and they're actually already out and we'll explain to you with those candles our next. All right, let's get into offsides and we've got some candles to tell you about so Amy, yeah, you know football's back. So if you want to get a little piece so that game day experience at home along with fall. This might work. Okay. I know you love candles. There's a company that's owned by Anheuser-Busch call Babe wine. They just created three football scented candles one smells like an artificial turf field. Okay one smells like a Nachos not bad and one

"Coach we appreciate you taking the time today. Thank you for joining us. Listen I appreciate you guys to listen. I hate talking that much, but. I think it's important I. Appreciate you guys, even listen. Thank you back here on Arrowhead prides from the podium you just heard from chiefs head coach Andy Reid. Now that we've gotten through, that will turn it over to quarterback Patrick. Mahomes with your platform. Just the saddest that you hold is one of the faces of the NFL right now. Just how have you worked through the challenge of standing the scope of all the different things that are happening right now in ways that people could help while figuring out for you specifically how you want to help in how you want to push forward in China may change. Yeah. I think I. Think the biggest thing that I. I've done is just lean on people that I respect that. I believed on it the right way and I I've been lucky enough to grow up with a lot of great role models around me, and just trying to find listen to them as a as they talked to me and then other people around the league. Right way, listen to the advice. They give me and then trying to make the best informed decision as far as What I do in the next day I. Take the move forward, because like you said I've been given this platform and I wanna make sure I can do whatever I can make. Make the world a better place in whichever way that is. Going to see him Nolan's, you're going. Hey Patrick thanks for the time did A. can you name names on the? Adams has fallen on your answer there to Bj. Can you like who who specifically did you talk to that? You respect in is something you plan on doing more of going forward. Yeah I, mean. everybody's a lot of I mean obviously. I talked to those guys in the video Michael. Thomas I've talked to my Godfather Letroy Hawkins Talk to my father and then I've talked to talk to coaches and and people that I respect coach. Read in religious got as much information as I possibly can in their several others of people I talk to. That I get advice from every single day and I try to do that as I make any decision and and do whatever it is that I end up doing. What them. You're doing while today of understanding it. There's a lot of voices and a lot of players involved in this in this player movement right now, but none of them are you and they're not another quite accomplished. Your Age which you've accomplished in your career. Are you aware of what kind of weight? Plans to to the calls here. Yeah, I'm definitely aware I'm aware of everything aware of my surroundings I'm aware of of coming off a super bowl championship, and being being the quarterback of a super bowl, winning team, but I I've always believed in an people and I've always believed in when people do things together and do things for the right reasons and have a good heart when they do things, get done in changes change happens, and so that's always I've grown up. I got I got kind of said in my statement, a locker rooms, seeing how people come together and strive to certain goal into to. Do things and I believe that if people had the right intentions have the right heart, Tommy, go the and really sex the world and it make it a better place. Go to Harold Koontz go at Harold. And got us. We got. Yup We got a good. Good yet all I met well. Hey, I want to ask you going further with this message that you sit. What kind of be your message to somebody? Young people look up to you now that you're in a position where you're looked at as a MVP a champion. What's your message? The young people that have to do it. Some of these things would racial inequality. Inequality and maybe their dealings with police something through your past at you may have gone through that was dealt with in a racially motivated away. What's your message to them that? Look the to say. Hey. I'm going to get through this and I'm going to try to make myself better. See How your green people together to come back can make better place. I would say to do the same thing that I that. I've done a montage. Life matters to talk to the people that have taught them. Their values have talked them the right way to do things and. Listen to them because they've had those experiences in I'm a twenty twenty four years old, so I I'm maturing learning things as I go. But I've learned a lot from people like my dad. Literally Hawkins and coach Read and learned that that there's ways to handle things in order to get your point across into end to respect people, and and do the right thing but you have to to learn in had your own experiences to do that, and so just taking as much information as you can make the best informed decision that you believe you can make Anna tried to whatever you can to make the world, a better place and every action that you take. Go to Bob. VESCO GO AHEAD BOB. Patrick, you've Kinda gone from the leader of a franchise winning Super Bowl to now basically the leader of the face of the national football league. How do you view your responsibilities now as the face in the leader of the entire lake? Yeah, I mean to me. It's always been about just being the best person and the best teammate, and and the best friend that I can be with whoever interact with That's what I was taught at a young age when my mom and then for my dad, and and from everybody around me is treat people the right way, and usually, and usually you get treated the same, and if it doesn't. Doesn't happen. Keep your head up high and head. Hell Hi just go out there and beat the best person you can be in every instance if that's on the on the That's a listening to one of your best friends. Talk about their feelings, or whatever it is just be the best best role model, the best person that you can be and all the other things will handle itself. It's GonNa Steve, Walsh and Steve. Steve Can you hear me Y'all? Can we ask you? Patrick. Guys in the League have said that they wish they had done. Things differently in supported Colin Kaepernick but they were scared to do so at the time just because of. Fans ownership just monsters, and so forth I locked up. For a second. Can you hear me? I can hear you again. Hey, a lot lotta guys in the League have said they. They wished they would have done things differently in supported Colin, Kaepernick, they were scared to do so at the time because of how that would be you by fans, ownership, potential sponsors, and so forth leading up to your statement that you may be a social media, and also the black lives matter it matters video Did you have a concern of any possible backlash that you know fans of said, and have you seen anything a both positive and negative? Yeah I mean I. Feel ever decision that you make. There's going to be positive. Negatives in that's that is the world that we live in today, but I believe in both of my statement in the video that I made that it that stuff needed to be said we needed to come together as as a group as players in show that we believe that black lives matter in that that we believe that this needs to be informed that we need to be the role models go out there and take that step and obviously It was great. The founder support that we've gotten from the chiefs for me. from country lead from Clark Mark Donovan. Talked to Roger Goodell and he and he is shown his support to us but it's. It's something where. I'm always going to be informed. Decision. Understand that there's GONNA. Be Good good and there's going to be bad but if I believe something and I truly believe it. I'M GONNA I'M GONNA, might country says let my personality show, and I'M GONNA to stand behind my words and I'm GonNa. Andy Reid comments on Miami Dolphins schedule

"Steve Mariucci of NFL network. Got ON THE LINE WITH ANDY. Reid and here was reads. Only real take about the schedule. You'll hear MARIUCCI's voice I I know you don't look ahead to tweak twelve yet but you played the Bucks Brady and Gronk and those guys over with Tampa Bay your thoughts about that. Are you going to think about that? When the time comes were those later games the one positive about the LAKER Games. We have Miami and Tampa and they're they're late in the season so you remember when we had to play Tampa Bay who and where Green Bay and regretted if you had to play them earlier because the now we've got both Florida teams late this year. Which is positive. I think if you look at those kind of things so you always gotta look at Buffalo. You Go Buffalo Green Bay you WANNA play early in the season. The Florida teams play late in the season. So we're lucky enough that yeah all right so there you go Andy Reid commenting on the schedule. I've covered read. I know him he want to say anything. There as the Anti Bulletin Board Material Guy to look at this Michael Jordan documentary and how these super athletes live off that stuff. He never wants to say anything about a team. He has to play in the future. So it's the most boring but it's interesting I I find it somewhat interesting that the chiefs did luck out here. They got a lot of benefits and their schedule. They got ten days of harassed which I know our ten more days arrest. I guess the rest of the League because of their Thursday nights ball games. They have the box and the dolphins late. So you're going to Florida in November and December which is actually pretty nice time for

"Andy Reid with Peter king from the Peter king podcast speaking after that thirty one to twenty victory in Super Bowl fifty four and you know Peter he's right and we see that from homes from time to time in twenty nineteen they don't score every time they have the ball except against the Texans in the playoffs we've seen these pockets where they go from zero to sixty like that they put up three touchdowns and that's all they need yeah it you know what what I think this said was and I thought Chris did a really really good job when he broke down the third and fifteen play that went for forty four yards because as he described it it's exactly the way sort of after the game when I asked the Andy Reid to draw it up they knew that there was going to be a hole in the coverage be tween Jimmie ward and the corners you know the deep safety Jimmie ward the corners because they tested that in the first half if you watch this right now he throws it up monsters it up and he knew that there would be the whole because the first time they were in this play Tyree kill ran right at the safety watcher when writing Jimmy work he flips his hips and now he goes the other way the first time he went right at Jimmie ward in Jimmie ward is thinking Hey listen this guy is gonna do the exact same thing to me I'm okay I'm as I'm not going to get I'm not gonna let him get behind him and he didn't but he let him get to the side of him and there was no help and Chris I loved I loved your description of this play because it was so right on well thanks a lot I I mean it it was a special place and he did and you read Patrick homes they deserve a lot of credit you know a lot of the times you know Mike and I talk about it cracking the code are you know challenging the rules of the defense's scheme and that's what they did there you know you can't sit there and really blame anybody on the forty Niners the chiefs found a scheme that really stressed out the scheme of the defense of what the forty Niners our plan and let's be real about this guys I mean Hey you know again you you can't draw this is where you know I don't want to hear like people always go well arm strength is not that important yeah right you know because there's a lot of teams in football that are going to draw that play right there first off don't have the wide receiver who can you know stress a defense down the field that way second off don't have a quarterback who could play the forty Niners and I think it's still hilarious if you watch the play ball homes gets the ball and he's watching the pass rush as the place going because he's he just wants to make sure he can get a pass often get a throw off on third and fifteen so he's got a shop woman back and to be able to throw that ball fifty yards off your back foot as you're shoveling away I mean not only the great play but the players that were involved everything I feel like we kind of a it it's just I still can't get over what we saw the other night is what I'm saying I just can't get over it I really can't it was the the best even simple ball one of the best pass the vibes is reasonable ball and this team just decide to go up okay here we go guys let's go on fire and using zoom zoom in it was three touchdowns and I just couldn't believe it two three jet ship wasp the new sixty five tossed power trap for the Kansas City Chiefs the play that broke things wide open took a lot of work after that to actually regain the lead there still down ten points after that play they had to score a touchdown and another and they only added on one for good measure one of the plays along the way guys was the thirty eight yard catch and run from Sammy Watkins when he got behind Richard Sherman and Watkins said he picked up back clue on how to be chairman from seeing what Packers receiver davanti Adams did to Charmin in the NFC championship game how to beat him with the inside release and they get behind him because look Sherman's a great defensive back but he's not gonna run stride for stride with the fastest guys on the field and watch kids got to the inside and that was that and there it is well well done by the control room the the allied dot denticle Myrlie yes by Adams in Watkins to bust it wide open and without that play it's a little bit harder to beat the San Francisco forty Niners in Super Bowl fifty four Peter yeah and I think the one thing that you can always tell with any any read offense and give credit also there'd be enemy to my captor this staff every week four or five times they walk into Gandhi reads office there's a little couch in their in there's a big like to buy five white board on the wall and every week they start this on Monday every week days draw diagrams of the play they want okay in the plays they think you're going to work and why are one of the things Mike you mention absolutely you know two three jet ship wasp the play to Tyree kill the forty four yarder that was drawn on on last week and they all talked about why they thought it would work and the very simple reason is every one of these plays they'll drop on the board in the indie read will say them okay what's the defense going to do why is this a smart play and that what you're saying what you're seeing right now I am positive that they would have drawn that play up on the board because they're all design as Chris says to basically stress a defense it's not just play is that all boy we don't Patrick does this play well it's plays that work against this defense and those plays drawn up every week what's so funny any re took out his phone to me when I saw him a couple of weeks ago and any chilled me is bored me told me about it any took out his phone any call up the photo of the the board the day before they played Tennessee takes a picture of all these boards and it looked like for all you could see like you know eight eight eight you know out of phone app with map quest on it and all the lines going in a hundred directions in an inner city and and it was it's hilarious but that is basically the mad scientism of a made up word of any repaired the enemy calfskin the rest of that offense of staff it is phenomenal I mean they have so many but a brilliant minds they're talented players I mean Sammy walk ins the release to talk about that play again to that you know almost using Richard Sherman strength and making it a weakness because he is smart more times than not when a receiver releases inside like that he is going to run some in breaking route right you know usually a release outside it's Hey the guy's trying to run out route a come back maybe a goal route so there was brilliance there in just the coaching of the release and Sammy walk ins of the debt the touch the detail demande Adams the other thing to Peter I just want to ask you this I just feel like this I almost feel like that staff an indie read are almost careful with how much they gosh about Patrick bought homes I don't know you've been around a whole lot more than I am but I feel like it's one of those things you ask them about it and I feel like he like he he the light lights up and he has got a big smile and a huge eyes when you say about your mom's in that he has like I feel like in his brain he's telling us up all right now let's not go crazy and tell everybody how awesome I think it really is I don't know is that true do era my off there do you get that sense and you talk well I think he I think he loves my homes no question about it and I think he he wants to be sure to give him the proper credit but I also think he Andy Reid wants to give other people credit to write any read swears by the enemy and quite honestly Chris is you now the way any re runs his coaching staff you know when Doug Peterson left in two thousand sixteen he had met making to replace them and you know whenever he left in two thousand eighteen he had the enemy to replace him and that's why Andy was so confident if the enemy got a job this year or next year he's got a really good guy in my captor to replace the enemy he almost plans for the obsolescence of his coaches and and and he and he will tell you everything good about not just Patrick homes what about his coaches via one of the realities for the chief now moving forward a good problem to have a problem the franchise hasn't had in fifty years a problem and he read has never add as a head coach how do you keep your guys properly focused as they embark on a victory lap that possibly will extend maybe longer than that it should any impinge upon their ability to be as good as they can be in twenty twenty Andy Reid yesterday was asked about players handling their success in the off season here's what he had to say there you have a lot of opportunities it short wave and understand what she's a family and that's his job here so enjoy that the other part of the N. B. A. champion but on the other hand you better get yourself right to play this game there's a fine line right there you know of doing it the right way and halfway so don't neglect the the part that is the most important part of your profession you got some people that wanted to clear the chiefs a dynasty with only one Super Bowl when they're no more of a dynasty in in two thousand two Buccaneers the nineteen eighty five bears teams we thought would maybe deliver again and again and never did bill Belichick is the master of getting his guys to forget about what happened last year do we believe that any read will be able to get his guys to set aside championship number one go back to the valley of zero one zero is Dennis green called it and climb the same mountain again Peter yeah I think one of the things that any read will do is one of the things and and Chris saw this because he was on the the New England staff a few years ago for one offseason and I remember one of the things that that India's said you know several times in the past is that you know every year is just like the old Parcells thing every year is a brand new year and if you don't realize that this happened a Parcells one time he feels in nineteen eighty seven where after winning the Superbowl in eighty six he hung on to guys and basically I think he felt like it's big and a lot of coaches of felt this way since it's better to get rid of the guy is a year too early then to get rid of a year too late and I think Andy Reid is gonna have to make those tough decisions I'm sure he has already started to think about okay who are we paying he's rarely already had a meeting with bread V. just crazy as this sounds it's Wednesday it's whatever is sixty hours after this game and he's already had his preliminary meeting with his GM to talk about which we are going to be our priority guys in free agency what are our future plans what are we getting hit hard at the combine what are we gonna do in free agency so I I doubt this okay Chandy by surprise very much and yeah my guy I'm with Peter there I I think this is some this is like a jump off point I I believe that you know I think for the first off like the psychosis of winning the Superbowl and losing the Superbowl right we see a lot more winning Superbowl teams come back and have success maybe than the team that loses the super ball I think you get addicted to it one you just go Dan this is awesome like I want to have this feeling again this is amazing we were the biggest show on the planet for two weeks in the lead up to the Superbowl than the game itself and I think they have guys and personalities that the ride for that and guys and personalities that I don't look at to be content but I think Travis Kelsey wants to be the greatest site at ever I know Patrick my homes wants to be the greatest quarterback ever you know Tyree kill Sammy Watkins there you know I know Sam me walk ins is got one more year left but the majority of their core their players other than Chris Jones are signed up for the most part so I would just be shocked between that and I do think there one of these teams just as we saw.

"Bowl, but it's better to just a Jurassic edit allow it to move onto the hiding behind the controversy. Andy Reid has told de Ford. It's going to be okay was legitimate. He was like on the angle of our camera. Lease it might have been off by a Ted. Normally, you're warned the coaches warned if somebody's doing that before they throw it game that magnitude they did. And you're wasting time doing he didn't wait till the interception throw. It is Hannah's flag right from the Geico. So we're this close are offsides in in Atlanta. So I'm gonna work like crazy on my end to to make sure it's right. Andy Reid following the game d Ford offsides. Negates the interception. And thus a chiefs win. If that play is left standing without the flag. The chiefs are playing in Super Bowl fifty three in the patriots are going home d- Ford says that Andy Reid told him this week don't think about it. We've got to move forward. We all could have been four inches better. You know, that was big that was a big quote to say, we all could have been four inches better. At the end of the day. I appreciate Andy it's going to be motivation for me, especially heading into next year. That's how I handle the situation. Get better. We know what it takes to get. There will know what it takes heading into next year end of quote. D ford..

"Me came down to a few things. One the officiating. I thought was bad. I've kinda get your opinion on that. I mean I- officiating is what it is. But you know, I still think about sudden the go, I think that's a big thing. But also the other thing is what was going on the offense of line in the first half. Just the really almost three quarters. I would say, but obviously they came out strong in the second half, and they kind of all down a little bit again. You know, I think it comes down to that. Then in the final thing is, you know, Andy Reid, an excellent coach, no doubt about obviously. But God eleven seconds to go. I said I turned my turn to my nephew. He's been going to couple of games with me here. I said they've left it too. Tell me we'll never know. John. That's the worst phone drop out you I left it to what I left it to what measure a drink your oval team. Now, I'm going to die not knowing enough. Yes. Yeah. Callback. Let's go to Steen leads summit. What's up Christine? Thanks for hanging through the break. No problem. I, you know, I watch the teeth my whole life. And you know, I have a problem with I love Andy Reid, but that first half. What was I felt like Alex Smith was still on the field? I mean, he has set for phones and he did not like Patrick Mahomes. Like, that's just I mean, the run. The shuffled pass. Forward. Man. I don't get it. I I'm still I'm in the parking lot still trying to get out of stadium. I was there. And I'm like, I thought he was thirteen Bill Bella check trying to figure, you know. I don't know what the hell was happening. Sorry that works. H E, double hockey sticks. But I'm in the bathroom to halftime. And then like if he tricky and all these ladies are looking at me like what what what I'm just? I don't get it. I mean. Yeah. Second half. We did come out. And I don't blame it on the defense. And I'm gonna say the x factor. I'm losing my voice, we were there. But I don't understand. Why did we not come out like he did last week put the foot on the throat make the fog of down Christine? This tonight's opponent was very very good and much better than last week's opponent. That has a lot to do with it. I get that. No. But they sacked. Remember, Tom Brady said they can't. Note christine. Thank you for your phone call. We appreciate it. No doubt about it. And we got out coach in the first half. Yes. His second half adjustments were very frustrating. Especially by the way, I got a hold on. If Patrick Mahomes doesn't take to ten yard plus sacks. And he doesn't miss Damien Williams. Andy Reid is out outcoached. Well, the games that first half was still very like even if the process, you might have been okay. It was a perfect game plan. My Josh mcdaniels the results. The results were would have been better than the process though. Andy Reid, okay. With with the offense vinyl go back to circle to that. And then talk because it matters what with that call to. The the the patriots had a fantastic plan to pressure Mahomes. They threw a lot at them some of the issues with the offensive line. Very well could have been Mahomes missile Diesen things really is setting the protection incorrectly. Like some of that stuff. Could've fell on. Hey, we're going to challenge a young quarterback. And we're going to throw the kitchen sink atom in a big game in say, okay. If you can match wits, and if you can match composure with a guy that's been here. Eight times then. Yeah. You know, tip your hat off to you. But they they were just discombobulated might have fallen on the home some modifier on on the offensive line. And yeah, the play calling was not great early. There was some issues with the play calling 'execution was bad as well..

"Andy Reid was saying this yesterday coach of the Kansas City Chiefs. He was saying on Tom Brady, he goes look at I look at the film, and like the age thing hasn't hit him. And so there are things that happen. And we know everybody ages baseball had a steroid problem. So Thirty-seven-year-old guys. Got way better. I don't suspect. Tom Brady's doing that stuff. But people are looking at film and saying it's hard to see the decline. It is interesting to point out that with no deep threat and tight end in gronk who will be a hall of Famer that was a shell of himself and with Julian Edelman missing September. Now, I just want you to think about this. No deep threat. No longer a dominating force at tight end their best running back, so rookie. The ofensive line was getting remembered draft pick got hurt they had to get a right tackle put him at left an element miss September. Tom Brady twenty nine touchdowns. Eleven pick sixty six percent completion percentage forty three hundred yard that have been Cam Newton's best year by mile working with the least he's ever had. So just remember that the other thing that's important. Remember is I think a lot of people feel New England is old grandkids. And Tom Brady is one will not be a patriot next year. It's a very good tied in class in the NFL draft gronk won't be a patriot. But you're forgetting that New England's core is mostly really young Stefan. Gilmore is twenty eight Trey flowers is twenty-five Sony. Michelle is twenty three James White's twenty-six Trent Brown the. Tackles twenty-five, Stephen dust, Caskey's kicker..

"Your career. Andy Reid some success to and two against Bill with a couple of blowout wins. Bella check is more of a defensive guy. So you, you know, you're you're a defensive player you wouldn't face his offense of genius. But when when you would prepare to face Bella check, what was that. We could practice like, you know, what? It's all about making sure your mindset is right. When you played patriots. You gotta make sure your mindset, right? They they're battle-tested patriots battle-tested regardless of their record, regardless of of of what they do what they do bad. They're battle-tested so dependent even though they going on a row to Kansas City against city has to has to start fast. You have to start fast. You have to put that down in your mind. Like, hey, this is going to be a long day for you. This is a different chief team. We've got a different quarterback this is different mentality and going against I mean being on defense. It's all about going against Tom Brady. Now, let's let's let's set you into that. Tom is known as very good pre snap. Yeah. I think he and Peyton Manning in my lifetime are probably the best pre snap quarterbacks. Not the biggest arm. Not the greatest athlete were there. Tricks to Tom were their little things when you face him that you is a veteran would get that maybe a younger player wouldn't give me your experience against Tom. Well. Being inside backer of the Kansas City Chiefs, especially the last five years with Andy Reid when we go against Tom Brady. I'm like the quarterback at a defensive on you when you're in the middle that I controlled here. What he's saying getting his checks making sure to deep is on the same page disguising different things. Because T one thing about Tom Brady. He he knows his job. But he knows your job just as well. As you do. I mean that that's how will he is on the field. And that's how it Willie. That's why that's why he's so quick at getting the ball out to his players. And you can't you can't really touch them. I mean, it's one thing to say man, go blitz them. Go put everybody on them. You ain't gonna be able to touch them. If you if you bliss my because you put less people in the coverage in the ball comes out. So you didn't blitz. Tom, not really not. That would really wasn't the plan at the time. I don't know the plan that's going to be on this Sunday. But but you what I've had in a pass. You wanna rush four a three at a time. But at the same time, you wanna put more people in a covered you want him to hold a ball. You want to try to get in the whole ball. Maybe get a Justin Houston or d fort to beat their one on one pass rush. And at times you wanna put and chiefs dude is now at times you wanna put those fast guys on the the guards because the guards they can't dance like the dance like Ford in Houston, do so they can sit them down and go right around him. And they can't handle that speed. So I mean, I it's a lot of things you can do mixing up the the re mixing up the pass rush without just rushing four at a time. Traditionally you can put to it two of the guys on the same side like, yeah. And and charges tried to put Ingram Bosa same Cy ovum inside. But essentially Brady is the opposite of most quarterbacks. You don't blitz. There's no real value in it. He seen everything he'll get rid of the ball. I mean like chargers last week. It was touchdown. Touchdown. Touchdown touchdown. They looked lost. They look from. Straighted like they didn't have a second gear against Tom. Yeah. And not that you. You you do want to change us from things show blitz at times, but maybe maybe overload aside, and then dropped guy still rush three or four. But you can you can sometimes overloaded aside, and they can say, hey, we're gonna we're gonna Molly this way, Molly that way. And if they Molly the wrong way because it happens at time, you can get a couple of free rushers and you're you're only Russian three or four guys at a time. So there's ways manipulate the system for is the lime in blocking..

"Play not looking for money looking for a smart team where he can win playoff games. Let let's let's and I've said this there are organizations where you can kind of feel that pressure hanging over you. So you can buy Andy Reid who's been a great coach struggled and some big games in Kansas City last year, your last, you know, big game there, they lose they blow that huge lead against. Nece- it almost feel like it. Feels like Kansas City, historically has been a little jinxed. Can you sense that you know, what I I wouldn't say jinx as? On some things that happened that as I Alarcon can. out about control. But at the same time man, we pass some great years in Kansas City since India stepped in that organization, especially the five years. I was with them. We we want every year one had had a winning record. Yeah. Went to went to the play offs and things happen. If you wanna go down a list as Peyton Manning Brady ban. You guys were in a era when you face three of the best AFC quarterbacks of all time is actually exactly and some things happen, whereas outta control. But at the same time Andy Reid is a proven coach in his lead. So I I think anybody would take Andy Reid as a head coach. And and and you can win with Andy Reid. I mean, especially especially now you have this quarterback. This is this pet Mahomes quarterback man, you can do disguise limit. Okay. Let's let's talk about Mahomes. So your last year in Kansas City. He's a baby Patrick Mahomes comes in Kansas City moves up draft to get him. Take me to the first time, you're at a practice your CNN. And it you. Thought to yourself. Wow. This is all different it really every day every day. He would he would just mess up the defense. I mean, he would throw the ball. No look passes hearing. And I've always thought like man, I will get mad. I'm like, hey, stop messing around like, you know, throw the ball look off a little bit and throw the ball. But this is what he does like he looks off and his I control his I'm Olympia latest craze. He will be looking this way. And throw the ball this way. And I'm like coach he's messing around. That's why you know, they're fuss. Like, hey, don't don't let them throw a ball. And now, I'm like, hey, he looked this way. And through the ball this way. So it was one of those things where it was some special things going on. And we would just look back and be marble at him at his ability to throw the ball side on. I mean, he did all this in practice like he was working on what he does in the game throughout the whole year being scouting quarterback in. I see it like first hand right now. I'm like, oh, I've seen it throw all the time. So you were with Andy for. Five years. He's known as a great teacher and mentor Nali two players, but coaches, if I said to you gimme one thing, you learn from Andy Reid that maybe other coaches didn't teach you or you thought separated Andy from other coaches, what would that be how I would say his confidence level. And and and and the way he goes about things he's he's a guy. That's he's always always harps on the little things like he's on means showing up to meetings on time just doing a little things. Right. So when you get on the big stage, you can make big things happen. But I still remember I don't know if it was two thousand fifteen or something like that. We went one in five, and he came in usually coaches they come in. And it's stomp or chewing chewing session, we was one in five he walked in and said, hey, guys, we're not far off keep working keep doing this. He's very calm. And I'm looking around like. Wow. Like, okay. Like, okay. We can do this. Let's do it and went on, you know, nine ten game winning streak made. Playoffs. I mean, this is this is coming from Andy Reid. He he he's he's a type of coast can get every all his guys playing on the right on a high level you face ballot. Check four or five times in.

"I asked bell chick that for the book, and he was very clear in that, you know, parsoes a great big picture guy. And he was able to share that with Bela chick when they were together with the giants and Bellichik took that and really cultivated that when he went to Cleveland, and then of course, in New England, and I think that Bella chick appreciated that in parcels much more than people realize Parcells is really tough on him when they were head coach and assistant. I mean parsoes would really come down hard on Bella chick. But that's the way he was in Belgium. I think appreciated that and toward the end abilities run in New York Parcells took him aside. He realized that Bella chick was on this track to become a head coach eventually and he shared with him some of his secrets some of the things that he did to get the most out of players to get the most out of game plans to bring out the special in those know, you talk about those special players there are a lot of. Players in the eighties and a guy like Bill Parcells and Bella chick summary. We're able to bring it out of them. When you look at Sean McVeigh is the Boy Genius. And Andy Reid, they both come from the Walsh school of football. Where offense reigned supreme when I think of Andy Reid. I don't think of defense when I think of McVay, I don't think of defense. But yet Bill Walsh's defenses were very good. What what it McVay in read? What are you see coming from Bill Walsh from those two? Well, read I think just as offense a philosophy. So so read just go back on the tree read worked for Andy Reid for Mike Holmgren who worked for Bill Walsh. So that, you know, it's fairly direct route there, and I think a lot of reads concepts reflect what Bill Walsh was all about west coast offense that offense was created in one thousand nine hundred seventies by Bill Walsh in Cincinnati. And it's still the predominant offense in football today and read has kind of perfected at taking it to a different level McVeigh is I think a lot like Walsh. And by the way, McVeigh's grandfather, John McVeigh was Bill Walsh's general manager for all those years in San Francisco. So this is really a direct connection there and McVeigh when I watched the Rams not not so much in the last couple of weeks because they've kind of gone more ground and pound. But when you watch the Rams offense at its best. It is wide open spaces yawning gaps in the defense that Sean McVeigh creates in his mind. The way Bill Walsh did. And Ronnie Lott told me for the book. He says Bill Walsh would always talk to me about angles. You create angles, and you create these open spaces, and it's almost like geometry with these guys and McVeigh has that he has that unique gift that Walsh had he can look at something and say, all right. Here's how I attack this. And this is the way I'll do it. He can tell us players. What's going to happen? It will happen. And that's the magic of a great coach and Walsh add that and certainly McVeigh has it. We don't wanna shirt change..

"It is it is not safe for work. It is bad. And Andy Reid is the only coach who still there. And when you look at that list. He was the safest coach we knew what we were getting good one thing. You don't want to do is develop a coach alongside of quarterback. We have no idea. Zack Taylor the quarterbacks coach from LA Rams can call plays. We have no idea. All we know is he no, Sean McVay. He can tech Sean McVay every once in a while. Congratulations taylor. But I don't know why you would wanna take a risk when you know, Mike McCarthy can win games. And that's what I understand that you want the higher ceiling, but Lincoln Riley is not coming paths. Cheryl's not come and David Shaw is not coming when you're dealing with the NFL pool right now. Mike McCarthy is very high on my list. All right. Let's go to the four games. Let's start with the colts. Texans. I have no strong feeling generally. If teams. Meet again after a team beat him. The better team does win you feel like there's revenge, but January teams win for a reason they have better personnel or their better teams. I don't like the idea that the Texans have the worst offensive line remaining in the NFL with very little conviction. I would take the colts and have no confidence. Where would you lean? I'm leaning towards the Texans. And here's why we talk all the time about the problems great quarterback. And solve you know, who else selves, great problem aside from having to Shawn Watson Danja Hopkins is a problem solver. If you throw the ball to a covered deandre Hopkins, he becomes uncovered. That's he's one of the few guy. He's almost like shack a little bit where you can just throw the ball in his direction. Something good is going. You didn't have a drop this year. No, that's unheard of. And nearly two hundred targets. It is unbelievable. And it's just it's one of those things where I think that that's going to be. I think that home field is it's real it's very it's real plow to man. Nobody was played in the Super Bowl has won a road game since twenty twelve well slow slow down time out. Hold on say it again, nobody who's played in the Super Bowl has played in a road game since twenty twelve in the playoffs. Joe flacco and Colin Kaepernick today on the same day in twenty twelve twenty twelve isn't that amazing? That's an amazing stat. Right. How we just noticed that just throwing haymakers good Lord. You like Houston I like Houston because of the with alleged. I think that both these teams they tied and points to fifty eight each in their matchups. I love Andrew luck. I love Frank Reich. I think that the defense on Indianapolis. They are they have probably set it on the show. They have the capability to go forward and be a dynasty because they have a lot of really good. They're better story than a team right now. I mean, let's be on. I agree. I agree. And I just think Houston is ready to win right now. JJ watt. He is somehow JJ watt one of the most famous players in the NFL is not getting the credit. He deserves after fifteen axes..
