Netflix Is Reportedly Testing 'N-Plus' Service
"Working on something called n plus so net flicks plus and plus you know me and me and andy love a-plus But it's not an plus one. The molyneaux founded literary journal. It was not an station of the downtown bet. The everyone's one guys would be pretty psyched. Netflix came along and it was just like. Hey we love. We love what you guys are doing. We know feeling was a bestseller but it would be even better as a twenty part maxi's So anyway this survey was basically asking a lot of questions about what people might be interested in from this end plus product and what it essentially is is. It sounds like netflix effort to build. And what do they call that like. Is this like sidecar content. Like what is the thing. It's like content. is us clown car content. There is a word for it but is essentially con curatorial content around right there shows so whether it would be podcasts whether it would be editorial stuff whether it would be the ability for users or experts quote unquote to make playlists of episodes possibly even getting to work with the music that is in some of these shows. It's essentially like a elevated user experience. I guess and i. It's unclear whether this would be like something that lives inside the net flicks site or inside of the netflix's apper whether it'd be a separate product or whatever i imagine it would have netflix. Wants it all. It'd be in one place. I'd imagine it would be case
"All right Andy Love your thoughts on this one. Our calendar for fiscal year eighteen nineteen was set before I was hired. It includes numerous clients activities that we cannot support financially not without our program suffering. I want to cancel the activities I, e expenses for the remainder of the year. Any advice on how to go about this when the board chair, who is very hands on created the activities in the first place and the related budget items. Okay. So it sounds like it sounds like there to challenge is here. The first one sounds like there's not a strategic plan that explains what you're supposed to be doing. You may have a mission and it sounds like the board chairs just got a run running with it without really involving staff. But not being really clear about what you're supposed to be doing what those core program items are So first piece make sure you get I mean this is a good time to especially with the transition. That's a really good time to start that strategic planning process over again because the the one that the prior d did there's a good chance that you're not gonNA YOU'RE GONNA agree with some of why you're the new and there's not the old Ed is not here anymore is because there needs to be a change in direction maybe so That would probably be the first thing I do. The second thing is you probably need to start clarifying the roles or the difference between the morning member, right the board member in the staff. Because if the board chair is really hands on, that's never ever a good. You never want to have those two words next to each other board chair and hands on those phrases are incompatible. Unless unless you have no staff in the board has to do everything but that's that's not the case that you're in here. So getting that transition man, there's so much. Work that needs to be done in the sector getting those baby organizations that are very bored directed not whole lot of staff and transitioning them away like I called Adolescence get through adolescence you're in good shape. To where the staff driving everything and the board is there to do with the board is supposed to do which is set the strategic direction. Make sure the organization is sticking staying true to its mission making sure that it's doing the right things for the community because the board then is like the proxy for everyone else it's their job to look at the. Organization from an external perspective. So if they're inside, they can't do that. They have to be outside and sometimes the board at one stage if an organization isn't the same board for the other stage right and you see that all the time sometimes you get aboard, that's really that startup, founding, board and that's all well and good, but they actually like to be. Getting their hands dirty and kind of doing some of the actual operations of a nonprofit because there isn't staff great. There's plenty of opportunities to do that out there but maybe they're not the ones for the next stage. So I know that that's a little premature for this. Perhaps, this board chair was just literally stepping in because they didn't have an executive director. And the and the board chair was trying to you know was well intentioned who knows but there seems like some room for resetting boundaries and expectations and I'm thinking for the strategic planning process because you don't want to just take this list that the board chair came up with that probably the rest of the board members nodded and just approved rate and. Do you want to take this list and say these all suck. Right all of your ideas activities suck, and here's why 'cause a resource depleting. But instead, how do you get the board disturbed thinking strategically about how they make these decisions so almost doing that that impacting resource analysis, how many resources? How much time money is this activity going to take and then laying out a grid compared to how much impact something like this would have on the organization and its mission, and once you start to map things it really becomes clear what quadrant. I wish, I. You know I'm sort of thinking of a visual where you actually end up with sort of a lot of dots on a chart that make you. Okay. These things that are low impact and have high resources need to just automatically be removed right and then the things that have the higher impact and lower resources great leverage tool. So why don't we keep those? So perhaps not all of these activities are going to be bad ones, but you've got to go through that process and you can't do it alone because you the new board will hate you.

"The current rumor has absolutely none of the elements that I would expect to see to get to that end point and I feel like if you want that performance at this point with you know you you can outboard Ju. I'm not sure how much else you know. What what else do you need? I did find it funny in that article. Is that the Not The cards but the cards are not built for gaming. I'm like what for. That's why we hate them. I was like as as a professional. Who Do you use? GP's Invidia is the heart. Was the hardcore you know heavy lifting. GP that happens to now work really all the games but but the API slash amd boards. That's what they were built for. That's the problem with the way that they process the the graphics and so I was gamers say the same thing the gamers say their to their better for number number crunchers number crunchers. Say they're better for Gamers and both just want invidia. GP is because they're really general purpose. GP is now. Yeah General. It's weird. It's Gamers Gamers at this point. They know exactly what they want. They know exactly what how specifically a system has to perform so the idea at this point of creating a brand new gaming aiming system in a world in an ecosystem. Like Apple's where no you don't get to swap out that connects no you don't get to have your own cooling system. No you don't swapping to to fix this or tweak that yeah I don't it's that's that's that's really easy and immediately exactly. That's actually one of the problems you know when I Heating the heat dissipation is a big is a big deal for instance I when I do my photographic tree. I have to be careful on my AMAC If I if I do it there I'm now doing most of it on a PC but it will overheat and literally shut my computer down while you're you're working on ways to put like cooling on the back of the eye Mac trying to dissipated or whatever but the the because the problem is is that it's sustaining a a full. CPU Load for three days. And and so it you know these are the big calculations not the kind of like. Is this going to work. But like I'm really trying to get all the data out of the the photos that I'm using It'll just runs literally at the very top of all the all the processors for three days somewhere between two and three days. If I'm not careful it will just stop. I come back in the computers restarted. And I'm like what happened. Oh man took me a while going away and coming back I do it when I trip. I come back and quit. Power and and Then I put a ups on it. And then I realized that no and then I had to put a little camera on it to see like the heat and there. That's where you that's it you know. I was watching video where she showed your photo guarantee on the Mac pro and it was. I think it took a right day to get through those files yet. Just he was talking about how to. How do I push the MAC pro and I was like? I'll send you some files I can. I can help you and it shows at the same time he looked. AWW tweet it was just like it was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. Twenty eight twenty. CPU's is that full capacity. And I asked her I was like. Did you see that you get hit every once in a while there's only certain calculations and a photograph matry that that hit the GP and he's like. Oh Yeah maxed out both of them. Certain Times it's IT'S A it's a great it's a great. Were Real World Cinna bench so speaking of the earlier I think it was andy you were talking of about how we Some of us don't understand what the youths are up to. I think one of the things that I I see across different generations. But I've never been able to myself. Understand is taking a device like an iphone and sticking a big old war on the back of it known soon as a pop socket. I'm having Oh boy. John's gotta POPs listen. You can educate us because I don't understand it either. What if you've got a socket you WANNA pop on the back of your device? That's fine by an eye out with I don't you don't put an eye on like I don't get it. I don't I don't get it and so. This is the first time that I have actually considered because I I don't know about y'all kind of the type of person who I want went to the If I can't be fully sympathetic I want to be empathetic. I want to understand why. And so you WanNa WanNa know the pop song. I WANNA know the pocket. I want to know what love is. I want you to show me And so I have never been able to do the pop socket thing because as I want to be able to charge my device with my wireless charges that I have. I'm all in a wireless charging now that took me a while as well and this hasn't been possible. Well well pop socket has now created a way for you to charge even with your pop socket plugged in essentially. They've made ate a donut charger. So the docket the pop socket docket pop block drop it. You just drop your pop socket onto the donuts and and Fitz Nice in the middle and around the outside with you know whatever fun I see Like a rainbow fairy sparkle gold donut and minimalist. So hungry now black lines doughnuts and please don't take a bite of this on her name. I don't think it would be good for you. Although although it could maybe recharge you anyway. This may be the first time that I can actually sort of try to live the life of a pop soccer and see if there's something to it the rocket bigger than the ring like I remember. Kevin Mitchell look our you know our good friend chemically those rings on the back of the phones all the time. Yeah and I'm a lot better than Fox rain the ring can lay more flat whereas the POPs. Yeah if you put your phone down it rocks up and down Because the socket doesn't go you completely. It's a stand for your also works as a stand and yes but the straight down you put it. Oh I see what he's saying. Okay so Karston is pointing out that you would never lay straight down on the back of the device because you can use it to sort love. Pop prop up your phone which which makes sense But the the great thing about the pop sock is that you sort of slide. Your fingers around owned the Socket and it can be held. They're really nice. So it adds some some balance to you. You're holding the device while you're carrying it around the thing is I have monster hands and so I don't really need a pop socket to have even with the IPHONE. Eleven Pro Max. It's not a problem for me to be able to hold this device with the iphone. SE in your hands. Yeah I did exactly but Laura Gill on the other hand. I don't see why a pop sock it would work for her so anyway my point is given the fact that there is now this donut out out there The pop socket drop it. Lock in Pop. It make it move you get it. I am considering moving. You're right I thought it was actually jeans pockets. I can't put Energy Parker Yeah I got into my pocket all the time and I'm just like you can but it's not polite I don't know is that a pop. Never mind I I put in my My jeans all the time that bad. I'll say like if you have like closed like this if we have all the way. Obviously you're not going to put in your pocket but I mean it's not too intrusive over here I wanna see how flat at ways. Okay give me one second. I'm asking the technical director who's running our board won't be any switching for a minute so we'll just stare and they're taking the youth culture by off to the side. I'm teething can and do this for me. Go well look you can use it as a stand. That's the main reason why I have it because if you want to watch a video when you're like Outta table you you just pop the sock it out laid down on the table and access to the little Nice Stair. It's not too bad it's still sticks out pretty far though can please let that far. I would say you know we drive me crazy. An oreo cookie on the badge is off the table Papa Down Leon table because we can have the still the wide shot here. Yeah yeah that's not bad so this is this is nice. It's a nice and let's go ahead the extent. Use it to open the door on the back of the iphone because looks like a handle. So this is Alex's case that I'm probably going to be ordering that has can't use the won't won't charge by the way I'm talking about. Oh no you can't do wireless charging with that. I don't I'm surprised that you're pop. Socket is not promoting your allegiance to any one specific k pop band however yeah so that. That's so funny that you mentioned that Andy at that same party where I saw the Christmas ornaments Thing there was someone there with a pop soccer. That had a The face of a of a caper on the back academic papers it was one and x t seventeen Intel in. Yeah Yeah I was into bts one so. I mean it's it's it's it's a great starter boy band for getting into K.. Pop I mean but once you just discover this with a stray kids are all about. I mean it's you're saying you watch that. BTS during the in your New Year's Eve special in New York City. Andy no no. I'm saying that while we're talking about it. I googled for listening..

"Doc Break and we thank you well thank you for sponsoring this week's episode of Mac Break Weekly. alrighty let's talk about apple and stock and apple earnings and apple and you know this is evidently. They're on the ropes here. Yeah Yeah you know. They're not doing so hot right now. Analysts says there isn't it amazing that like a year ago literally a year ago in January. I think January second or Third Tim Cook put out that letter saying that iphone. Prophets were not what they expected especially in China. And I think the second time in in the company's history they were going to restate earnings and boy aged the doom and gloom said in fast and then literally one year later to the day applecross three hundred dollars a share for the first time for the first time. Yeah Yeah I saw you tweeting about this rene There was that Ho boy we're going to call in with We're GONNA let everybody know that we're probably not going to reach the earnings goals that we had ad and now they closed north of three hundred dollars and I don't think the stock is like the bellwether for everything like it's not like it's it's it's it's an indicator for Wall Street and a couple of other things. I don't think it's an indicator for us. In the company Writ Large and we're apple stands and where the guy it's a very different sort of metric but it does shed light on. Just how savvy. Tim Cook and Luca Maestri have been in navigating not only the headwinds from foreign currency exchange. Not only the tariffs which have been. It's been hanging over them like the sword of Damocles all year not only the the Chinese market and the blowback from walkway and all those other stuff but they've they've managed it so well that the stock caught crossed at a record high just one year later and I think you know as much as Tim Cook gets grief for not being Steve Jobs. He seldom gets credit for being a really really good Tim Cook Yeah. That's that's one of the things. I WanNa talk about their. Rene you say that you know this is not necessarily an indicator for those of us who don't exist in that analyst space while there is an indicator that the company is doing well for those of us who existed that analyst space and that is that apple has nine of the ten devices of the top spots for mobile device activation in the US over the holiday week so between I think it's the twenty fifth breath Christmas Day and the thirty first. The eve of the New Year Apple has the nine nine out of ten top spots the tenth. Spot goes to I think a wall way device or is this show me. I can't re I don't recall what the graph shows but Nine out of the ten top devices are iphone devices. Yeah that that tenth spot is the Xiaomi Shall Mimi Four Grand I. Yeah Yeah what's is going on there. top one of courses iphone eleven followed by. I think of course the iphone ten are and then seven eight and so on. That is pretty wild. I mean I guess it's not wild in the sense that in my mind. It's to be expected but I think that when we look at the sort of analyst analyst stock point of view that can make things a little confusing a little muddied and this to me is speculation. Straight right exactly. Yeah and they. He also made money like the Samsung and apple in the US. A lot of people immediately say but you know China and yes great. There's an entire world out there. All of us have traveled. We all know that But in in the US according to again another metro company and they can vary wildly inequality. Why widely in the quality of their of their metrics but Samsung and apple? We're basically the only ones making money again again in the US market were there any. I think you're about to say something alex. Do you recall what that was I think always gonNA say I don't don't know if I think that Steve Jobs got the company to where was mean made the turn built it up. Built the products. Put that together. I don't think he could have navigated this as well as Tim Cook. You know of the challenges that Apple's had in supply and and expansion and dealing with politics. I don't think that Steve would have had any interest in talking to trump trump. You know I think that he just like well. We're going to do our thing and they're going to do their thing and I don't WanNa talk about seeing him on twitter it would have been amazing. Oh my the Golden Globes. Wow I guess I guess picks are really really is doing that deep. Fake thing as a livestream. Yeah Yeah but yeah it's it's And there's there's nothing that's That's more a A recreational as opposed to practical talking about weapons. What was done in a certain situation but I have a hard time thinking that he could have correctly? Navigated The shift to services as well well as tim had because of Eight. It's not as though they weren't doing any services when he was around. It's not as though the five years after he passed which is usually lead the timeframe which we think about things that Steve probably knew about and within his opinions on but the idea of let's start our own TV channel. He was big on the intersection between engineering and Liberal Arts. But I'm not sure if he would've thought that this is part of Apple's folks. I could've seen him. I think a lot of way. I could've seen him building a separate company for that but I'm not sure if they would use the French word. I think the apple music contract or the apple music legal Constraints put a Stephen a handcuffs. You know he wasn't allowed to do music. And he was allowed to distribute it but he was allowed to until they bought bought their way out of that for longtime with bt with the Beatles they weren't allowed to do their own their own thing you know and they kept on that and so and so forth. But I think that that was one of the things and I think that it's a mistake. I think one of the things that that there's an interview Jimmy being. I think last week that talk about the fact that all these services are commodity is and and everything's all and and I do think that apple should be much more aggressive and I'm wondering whether their contracts currently with with record labels keep them from doing it straight out but I think that apple should be you know basically Building bands up. You know I don't understand why they don't do exactly what they're doing with apple. TV plus or with what. Netflix does and just start. You know signing bands directly to apple to apple music. I mean I'm I'm I'm very surprised that they haven't gotten aggressive. That my only guess is that the contracts that they cab with record labels to distribute the music precludes them from actually getting into the helpless. Some videos right that was one of the stories help exclusives which the the exclusives that they're buying signed for those essentially pays for the entire production of the record so So the those exclusives when they get like The first three weeks of album or the first two weeks or a launcher insurer month or whatever all those things are helping to make them special at the beginning there but is not you know and I don't think they can make these deals. The new deals with like a Taylor swift or someone like that but because they were there they have already have a big market. They don't need apple but for smaller bands. I think that there's a there's a lot of opportunity to sign them on on and put them on as as labeled as their label or some kind of exclusiveness that lasts a year or two years and helped pay for their you and I think a lot of ways as it could increase the amount of creativity that we see in the music industry. Because you're basically taking away. Some of the performance needs for the for the ban. Dan Members as well. You know in the same way that I think arcade take allows a whole set of games that we wouldn't normally see because you're worried about retail value When you're trying to build an entire group things that people are just listening to? I think you could do a lot and I think again I think both spotify and apple are probably limited. which is one of the reasoning? spotify is going after podcasts. It's kind of a ham fisted sort of way very ham fisted So speaking Zik. Oh go ahead and I I was Gonna just echo amplify Rene comment that. I think that sometimes the Stock Price can be a It's the lifeblood of a company can sometimes be the live a liability. The company like apple because the crazy expectation among analysts has to keep going up up up up up whatever expectations. There isn't has to just just meeting the expectation. Asian is a sign of trouble it has to be exceeded And whereas apple would have a lot of a lot less. Oh my God why are we. Why do we have to have a comment on this as the company that we have to say that moment? Oh my God. We only made a CA- jillion dollars when we should have banking committee kajillions dollars. It's it's the we but we we don't it's it's it's the idea of the health and the prosperity of a company is very much an analog decision. And we don't like to it's hard to explain an analog thing but A number is digital digital and wait. This number is larger than that number. It should have been this much larger than that number on the hard part that that all of these silicon valley companies have You know in a very competitive environment between the companies all in Silicon Valley is that The stock price hold onto the employees. And if that stock price started slide it becomes you know you start losing people and and and one thing I've learned over the last decade has how attached those employees are to those those the stock value so You know you can get into a company wide morass I I. I think that apple's a little less susceptible to this But you can get into a company wide morass if your stock is falling all the time people are thinking about it all the time. They're they're looking at it all the time they're thinking about something a. and changes the way that they think and so a lot of what an executive team has to do is figure out how that stock price either stays where it's at or slowly moves up it each and this is why it's so important as why stock buybacks is not so that investors get money back. It's the the the the primary investors buybacks benefit that the company's he's worried about is the one hundred thousand employees or fifty thousand employees at all have stock options. That will be upset if they if those things start to slide backwards and then they'll go work for facebook or they'll go work for Google and and so so the you know so they're always you know lot of employees are looking at that at that kind of growth The growth of their value as a key piece of wider there. That's how they buy their houses. It's all your issues and things like that it's immensely valuable So speaking of music you know what my air are missing. They are not. The blueberries are missing a little poo- emoji on the front of them. I've yeah so you reordering reordering you know what maybe I will. Sort of case you use the word of the case by India's disappointed No no no no. There is nothing that illustrates for me like the cultural generation gap. I for me than if if people if people think the EMOJI is like funny and they like bring some joy. I'm glad that brings joy but for me it's like why do I go till like A. Why do I go to a walgreens and I can see like a chocolate speciality treat? That's shaped like crap. Why would i? I don't understand the youth of today..

"Another show. Andy loves the big bang theory. Lovin ju- still watch watch the reruns. I know I watch all the reruns. And yeah, I love it. It's always I think it's hard for you have to say goodbye. Yeah. I was a it was a weird feeling for me. But emotional I mean, it wasn't quite emotional because because like friends you can continue to watch it in perpetuity. So it's nice. But yeah, no. It's my kids love that show. And I thought it was very cool that the cast chose our show do a cast show and begin their good buying. We had the entire cast of big bang theory here. Shower before head the entire cast their here on the law was like seven people, and I don't know. I thought it was kind of a vengeful to totally they said, you know, see them in this moment when they have a few episodes left, and they've been together for twelve years, and Kaley Kaley. Cocoa had just turned twenty one. Yeah. When she got the role, thanks area. I mean, it's that's interesting. So it's left. They've been together for twelve years. Yeah. For twelve years still on top like this entire run. It's been like the number one comedy on television. And then also in in reruns and in syndication, it doesn't mazing. And so it was cool that they were here and and watch the whole interview busy play fun game with them. But here's a clip of them addressing who gets emotional. The most. Playing REM's at the end of the world of. Really sad twelve years who's gonna cry today is gonna cry today. Kayla. You're gonna cry hundred percent. Yeah. Have you been who's been crying because you know, what nine episodes left? Okay. I didn't know we weren't coming back. A way to find out bright bringing you here. So is it like getting emotional like with with every episode that you shoot? We're getting super motion. We were doing seem for the holiday, and we were just blocking. And we're the only two in it and just kind of rehearsing the scene out of nowhere. I just started bawling and the crew all the camera guys and everyone came out there like we're so glad you cry 'cause we've been waiting to cry all gave. Hug and like we all cried for like ten minutes. I haven't cried yet. I have a very deep fear seriously that I'm going to have the most unexpected the going to happen. I'm going to lose my. And I'm like scandal because it really is profoundly out amount of time of your life. And it's like more than I think any of us can get a grip on. And I'm worried that he's gonna trigger me like deep down. Oh, I didn't know that was their hurts. You know, we just get it out of the week. Right. Crying crying hugs me about it. I, sir. Crying just starts still feels very hypothetical. I think come end of this coming summer when we're when we would generally be back. We'll be unemployed. We'd really be. The unemployment line. But I mean, twelve years is a really long relationship. I mean, even though you have breaks. It's like you're spending twelve years with someone and you've grown so much together. I mean, you how old were you? When you were the just turned twenty one when we started, right? Yeah. You couldn't drink great during the. How are you proud? We will still be a year younger than I was when we started doing. Well, your sitcom. I'm like really it is a long you have my whole life ahead. Are you? I mean, Simon you still look you still look exactly the same. You have not changed at all. But if you look at the picture of the first season. Look different. Team. It's all fake. This is all that's eating. No, it's now. Knowing dial shoeing. Any of the pictures show, all of you? I mean, you wanna see all? Tanner that sees it. That you didn't even know when you joined you didn't know the have never seen the big bang theory. I thought it was a game show. Someone had told me that in some season of the Bank theory. They mentioned that the girl from blossom is a scientist. So when someone told me that I thought must be game show. Like a trivia thing. I had no idea that it was a very popular sitcom, apparently, right? I mean, somebody must've said it's not a game show before you signed on..

I was going nuts. Screwed up. That was amazing. Yeah. She came out. They had put her in a wheelchair because she won't walk in heels office chair in their pushing down time. Charity. Try the new barbasol ultra six plus six Autry, thin blades saved barbasol dot com. We're talking Red Sox baseball a top of the hour, Joe Kelley joins me, right? Then. In the meantime, speaking of baseball as the old saying goes all roads lead to this. The Jim Rome podcast recently celebrated its first trip around the sun two weeks ago yesterday the party raged on yesterday. We dropped episode fifty half a century. Mark a milestone number a milestone number calls for a legendary guest. And I'm not sure I could have found a more legendary guest, then the legend himself, indulge me. My guy Ron say the freaking penguin my childhood hero in studio for an hour on tape. And then maybe an hour afterwards. Just hanging out shooting the breeze. Digress from it. Have you ever met your? Title, if you're lucky enough to meet your idol, sometimes it goes, really, well, and sometimes it goes horribly. Have you ever come across your idol and had an encounter and thought man, he or she is dope. That's not cool. No respect didn't go. Well, at all not what I thought it would be neither come into contact with Ron say before. And we had an interview wants back in the day. But we had not seen each other in a long time. But for me to be here and sit down for an hour and chop it up on a podcast and then sit down just for another hour afterwards. It was so great. It was awesome. And if you want to tell me how much my sixteen year old self would be tripping out. Let me just tell you this. My Fifty-three-year-old itself was tripping out yesterday because it all came full circle the freaking penguin in my house posted up and telling stories about himself and about the teams that I grew up watching and loving something else. You know, I keep saying over and over again, I don't play favorites. I don't root I'm objective. But back Dan was not like that, man. That was some of the best times in my life growing up as a kid here in Los Angeles watching and loving the LA dodgers. I'm like, I Ron say. And here he was for the podcast past and present. So if you don't know the penguin, now's the time to get acquainted the episode will do that for you. But a six time all star with the LA dodgers, a nineteen eighty one World Series champ and co MVP and somebody. Who knew exactly what he wanted to do when he was just a young kid my childhood dream as a young boy was to become a major league baseball player. And so I got that opportunity was drafted by the Mets out of high school. I took my baseball scholarship and went to Washington state signed with the dodgers when I was twenty ran into Thomas sorta who kind of took me under his wing, and nurtured all the other players you heard about it was a great pleasure. An honor to be a dodger we had four World Series appearances in the ten years that I was there we were world champions. We had all star caliber players at every position we had the longest running and most successful Enfield, by fact in major league history, not the greatest but most successful. And we also had the first thirty home run for some in baseball that year in nineteen seventy seven. So we did a lot of real special things when we were there. Totally surreal. So we're just sitting there in studio, and he's running down all these things that I know because I grew up with it. But I'm just sitting across from my idol, and you couldn't have been more dignified class. Here could have been more fun. And as he points out like he I think Ron sale like most of us listening right now are participating at age five want to be pro athletes. I know I did some ends up and up as pro athletes some of us end up behind a mic lot of send-up wherever we end up, but he lived the dream. And now we live the dream, but live the dream here in LA at the best time ever, and they did do special things. Those dodgers teams that he was on. What are the best? And again, even though I don't root right now. I sure as hell did back, then the dodgers were my squad. The penguin was my guy and speaking of special things, we took a look back also to this year smack off when the two time defending champ laugh. Left and Laguna R. S peed by video you may or may not have seen this. If you didn't laugh went all left with it. He went all in. He ran down the likes of Holly Robinson Peete Bill Plaski, Kato kaylin havi air and the freaking penguin himself. Ron say this is Ron says cameo in left and Lagunas or as VP video s VP video. Ron say here left. Would you got a message for me? Please look change by phone numbers. Jim would stop calling me and I bought a new car. So it stopped calling. I bought a new house so Roman stop dropping by unannounced so left could you do me a favor and kept gymnasts message. Would you tell them to stop sending us fan base off the stock me? Oh, so you think this is funny. Yeah. Dumb ass. It's an amazing moment Ron say helping a clone or as VP for the smack off that was him in front of his house. All right. So he left these guys come up to his house. That was Ron say in front of his house polling Randall out of the bushes and saying so you think that's funny and ran away with year. And the penguin hits them with a dumb ass blast insane. And I didn't know the back story. I had to ask him how that even came to be. Well, I got a phone call. And they asked me if I would help participate in the smack off thing, and I said sure, let's do it. So they kind of gave me the script. And then it came out to the house your house. Yes. You hosted clones at the house. You did this man. So we we had a great time with it. It was short and sweet. It was fun. And I'm glad that you know, it helped us MAC. No. I know it helped a lot. I mean you crushed it. Now these screwball. They did they overstay their welcome. No, no. They were fine. Ed. Yeah. They were great. Honestly, Ron say had clones to his house. He had random on his bushes. He agreed to do this. And when he said in part of that tape, it tell Rome, I changed my phone number. I got a new car, I got a new house. So he'd stop stalking me that goes to a famous story that I've told before on the show, but he and I talked about that story. You won't listen to it by checking out the episode. I never could have ever imagined. When I trailed when I tailed Ron say through the valley when I was a kid that he would one day be in a smack off our SP video some decades later, I never could have imagined as a kid growing up worshiping Ron say that one day I'd be hosting a show or a podcast or whatever a podcast might be and sitting down with my idol. And that's exactly what happened. And I couldn't be happier about it. And big shoutouts Aleph for putting that together that was amazing and a big shout out to the penguin himself for coming in and sitting down and doing that. I mean, it's our conversation was a blast. We talked Tommy Lasorda we talked the Eighty-one World Series. Recuse Gossage damn near took his head off the penguin. The trade to the cubs and how that went down, and I'm not going to give it up right here. But Ron say had some really interesting things to say about Clayton Kershaw and his legacy. See you want. Make sure you check out at fifty the podcast because the penguin settled right in he crushed his appearance. I could not have been more pleased and more pumped about it. No, no. I do not selfishly.
