"To be able to go to community college And these kind of things do you want to make ObamaCare the Affordable Care Act affordable So everybody can get coverage Do you want to expand Medicare These are the kind of programs that would help American families at long last stop living paycheck to paycheck and come out of this horrible economic downturn trying to tied to COVID-19 with more justice and more boost in their steps so they can get their little piece of the American Dream again It would help the whole economy So we're ready to and I think the president is saying let's get in there and negotiate But we want to talk about specific programs And we have lots of ideas David about how to make the price tag were For one thing we're willing to pay for everything right So the actual price tag would be zero because everything would be paid for And then let's talk about making program shorter or what's on budget What's off budget or any really anything they want to talk about Well that's what I was going to ask you specifically There's an alternative to taking some programs off the table And that might be saying it's 5 years of than ten years Or it doesn't start year one It starts in year two Is that the thing that you're looking to do Because when you say it's paid for isn't it true that the amount that you came up with the plan is something like $2 trillion That's a lot less than 3.5 Well again we in the progressive caucus are willing to pay for the whole thing And even more by letting the very wealthiest Americans and the big corporations pay their fair share of taxes the idea that we have many corporations that pay zero taxes is un American It's unacceptable And wealthy individuals God bless them I love it if people can make it big in America But how about paying your fair share for the roads and the colleges and everything that made this country great that gives you a great workforce and so forth Nobody can disagree Nobody can disagree with paying your fair share Almost by definition if it's fair it's what you pay The question is what is fair What you're talking no I understand that but there's something voted out of the House ways and means committee right I think to have $2 trillion And when you say you're willing to pay for more than that that's not what the ways and means committee voted Do I have that right You're right you're right And the thing is that we are working with the Senate too right So the Senate has their own ideas about pay for So we all have to get together But I think your overall point is really a good one that there are different mechanisms to get to get to a price tag everybody can agree with And what I love about I want to make sure that anything that stays in there we do fully and well so it's a great program for the American people And my own view is if we do really good programs that last four or 5 years for one thing we're more likely to get reelected so we can extend it And for a second thing if you create great new programs that the American people say like wow I pay taxes and I get this benefit That's a good deal Free community college whatever it may be then it's going to be harder for anybody to take away So we started this child tax credit We've cut childhood poverty in half and whether you live in a red state or a blue state if you're a mom or dad and you're getting $250 a month for kids 6 and older or $300 a month for kids under 6 that really helps you buy the groceries you need in the diapers in the formula whatever you're buying And so I think if we do good programs for the American people they will be durable over time Congresswoman always are better off for hearing from you Thank you so much for spending the time with us Let's understand Andy Levin He's Democrat of Michigan And this is Bloomberg Burden LL you will solve the great mystery Streaming only on peacock This is Robert langdon The suspect called him I think you symbology He wants me to locate an ancient portal buried within the capitol From the author of the da Vinci code in angels and demons That's your dad People are talking want me to find a piece of a very old puzzle An executive producers Ron Howard and Brian grazer We have to finish this for my dad is dead Dan Brown's the.

"That a you at a a new york congressman. Meeks gregory meeks and a bunch of other congressman clark meeks Serious andy levin at hastings. On omar darren soto. I don't know if they're all democrats but this guy is a democrat saying how we need to support getting rid of mo as there was a dispute over when his term ends and they any also is going to have a constitutional referendum which has now been postponed indefinitely. So they are saying you have got to get rid of this guy. Then andy levin. Who's one of those also in new york congressman signed that. Let's get rid of my ways. This was in february. He writes on. He tweeted february seventh sky with no evidence to support his claims of a conspiracy against his life. Marinas demonstrating what my colleagues. Nis our chances of real elections real democracy in real accountability. Why while he remains in power. I'm deeply saddened but unsurprised at his escalated his anti democratic campaign with a mass arrest of opposition officials on others on what should be his final days office. This is levin effectively denying that the coup existed but saying that he wants. This guy gone he today. He says he tweeted out today. That biden has always supported this moe's even though he's a he was not a good guy but this is an opportunity for real change. So i'm going down on the records to say that this was absolutely a coup against haiti orchestrated by the us and it is and will be successful. Just look into bolivia if you want a racer on that a similar thing that happened under trump. and what's watch out for what's happening in cuba -tunities like that as biden suggested tend to fall into governments lap. They don't tend to wait around for those. They tend to kind of push them into action. So i think you have a good assessment of that. The doctor that i was referred to as says haiti's police claim a florida based doctor recruited the mercenaries and he's been arrested for his involvement in the plot and i thought that was interesting. That doctor is being arrested and being accused of being involved because of the vaccinations. Wow yeah that is wonder what role that's gonna play with him. I don't know. But i think they do troll for really useful people like i think. The mayor of miami is just loving her prominent role. She's quoted every day on the news. She was cornered on the news. You know mostly about the surf side condo but yesterday they were asking your opinion on the cuban protests. Like you know obviously we know. She's going to say 'cause constituency but who cares what you choose an expert on that as well. It works like this the stocks or perhaps maybe he's like super sink guy. Maybe he's just a guy that sounds like a super juicy well speaking of coup. Some Capitol Hill Lawmakers Back Amazon Workers' Attempt To Unionize

"Nearly six thousand amazon employees who work at a warehouse in bessemer alabama are voting by mail on whether to unionize. If they do this will be the first union amazon facility in this country. Here's jennifer bates. Who works there. I keep butterflies and butterflies. Normally come to calm me but hey this is my stomach faithful. It seems like it's getting bigger and bigger full of butterflies. Because there's no break in. Think i don't know how kogo nerve wracking. The election ends later. This month and i should mention. That amazon is a financial supporter of npr. But we cover them like any other company. Some lawmakers support the union. Including senator marco marco rubio or republican and of course president biden also michigan congressman andy levin earlier this month. He and a group of democrats traveled to bessemer. Good morning congressman. Good morning noel. How are you good thanks. What did amazon employees. They're tell you about why they want to unionize. Well you know a union election so often are about basic dignity and that was really true here. I was shocked to learn what it's really like in there They work in a facility. That's like fourteen football fields and it can take ten minutes to walk to a break room. They've to half hour breaks in a ten hour shift so they might get effectively ten hours to eat lunch be by the time they walk there and back lot of them. Don't feel like they can go to the bathroom. Except on their break. And they're watched and quantified every second they're monitored visually a listening geo positioning and every second they're not on task is measured and if they have a certain number of minutes off task in a week they could be fired sometimes might not even be a person involved it was really kind of dehumanizing to me. Here's the argument. That amazon makes amazon. Says look our employees. Earn fifteen dollars an hour which is a good wage in a place like bessemer alabama. Some of them have health benefits. 401k's essentially they have got the benefits that a union would get them. They don't need a union. What do you make of that argument. I'd like to tell that argument to any national football league player and the actor and a movie any presenter on major television or radio networks all of whom have a union every single one. The idea that unions are only for people who are the most poorly paid. It's ridiculous the one person who is unionized. That every airline is the pilot so this argument is ridiculous. These workers deserve a seat at the table to discuss a safe workplace. During a pandemic they deserve a seat at the table to have a workplace. That's human and a real person can go to and great make fifteen dollars. An hour amazon should pay them a lot more the owner of the company. The main owner had his wealth increase. Seventy eight billion dollars during a pandemic and they're about pay jeff bezos in their bag bragging about paying people fifteen dollars an hour there. What's wrong with workers having their own organization just that they can have input in their in in their work lives. And that's all these people are seeking is a seat at the table during this trip to alabama that you went on your colleague congressman jamaal. Bowman said this doesn't stop with amazon. He mentioned lift. Uber tesla and walmart as well. What is the ultimate goal here. The goal is for workers to be able to form a union and bargain collectively. If they darn well please. Noel were down to six percent of private sector workers in this country needing union. We're gonna pass the proactive in the congress and the president is going help. Lead into new era when workers can have a say at the table. It's long pastime in this country. Michigan congressman andy levin. Thank you

"Everything down after he thinks but that. But that's the governor's become kind of a national media star with the help of skype zoom and facetime. She's been interviewed. Virtually everywhere every day on comedy. Central's the daily show which has been temporarily renamed the daily social distancing show she appeared with Trevor Noah wearing a t shirt bearing the caption that woman from Michigan. Some Republicans are grumbling. That she's politicizing something that should be above partisan politics in a teleconference congressman. Andy Levin from Oakland County disagreed. This is way above politics. We're talking about losing a hundred thousand to two hundred fifty thousand American lives even if we try to act with all due intention -ality and so. I just think that we need to be very forthright about this. And speak factually and scientifically and not have politics come into it and Democratic Party Chair Lavoro. Barnes was even more direct. If you WANNA get Donald Trump's attention you gotta go where he is and that is on television. It's an important for all of us to be holding this administration accountable for its response to the pandemic and for lack of responsiveness Van Damme. And that's what the governor is doing and the governor needs to be out there having these conversation with reporters and in the process for two reasons one. Because that's how we all get information in this day and age when we're sitting are home watching television. She's sharing information that she needs. The people now to this is how the president with a president. You get him to respond. This is how you get him to get you. What you need is going where you.

"I this is America in the morning. I'm John trout. The United States made preparations for a military strike against Iran last night, in retaliation for the downing of US surveillance drone, but the operation was abruptly called off with just hours to go that, according to a US official and the New York Times congress is attempting to cool things down following a rans latest provocation correspondent, Linda Kenyon has the latest itching for a fight their gateway, South Carolina, Republican Senator Lindsey Graham responding to the news that Iran shot down a US draw near the Persian Gulf. Here's what needs to get ready for severe pain. House speaker Nancy Pelosi says let cooler heads, prevail. Let's make sure that we don't have a beating the drum for something without the clarity of the facts involved. But Pelosi says it should not have been hard to foresee something like this would happen after the US unilaterally pulled out of the Iran, nuclear deal when we walked away from that we lost some credibility with our. Allies, ever we go. We have to recognize that working together with our allies is very, very important. And that we cannot throw a weight around. But, you know, we have to do this together. Hawaii democrat maisy Hirono agrees. I think the president summarily pulled out of the way and then pretty much stopped Iran from selling oil, I think that we should certainly have predicted that Iran would respond in some way. And so they have President Trump has said the incident may have been a mistake on the part of the Iranians what Israel is that tensions are heightened in a situation like that. There is all kinds of room for miscalculation. It was more like a provocation of the president says Senator Graham, they are testing them. They need to do so at their own peril. Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer says he's concerned about Trump's response to that test. The president may not intend to go to war here, but we're worried that he and the administration may bumble. Into a war. Why he says congress must get involved, one of the best ways to avoid bumbling into war award, that nobody wants to have a robust open debate. And for congress to have a real, say, Senate Democrats are clamoring for a vote as part of the national defense authorization act that would require congressional approval of any funding for conflict in Iran Representative, Andy Levin says House Democrats are United as well if the president wants to start a war with Iran. He'd have to come to us, the article one body and asked for permission for that. Morning from Senator Graham in response to this latest provocation, if they get away with this God help us with North Korea and throughout the world. Kenyon, Washington twenty before the hour going deeper into you Saran tensions jimbohannon joined by Aaron. David Miller is a distinguished fellow at the Wilson international center for scholars the former State Department advisor at Middle East the gauche eater, and author of the end of greatness, your take on the conflicting claims made by the US Andy Ron regarding the downing of that US drone. Reasonable conclusions looking at the fact that. State actor in the region that have the intention in that capacity. Tankers as well as track. I would argue that I think whatever you can save every evidence they present. I'd go ascend calm in the Pentagon. This one, I'm sure we were not into running airspace. I think they've been tracking his grown drones like it for for weeks. And I think this was provocative in clearly willful. I found it interesting that the president bothered to say what he said that he doubts. It was deliberate that it was probably a mistake by some general, at frankly, caused me to wonder if the president might have inadvertently revealed some of our intelligence capabilities, may be for a fact, we know that, that that was such a problem. Maybe we, we heard over what the Iranians thought was in cryptic. Channels some higher up chewing out, somebody to lower level for shooting. The missile add just found his comments interesting, although I gather they did have the effect of calming the, the stock markets. I thought about that at the time whether or not we actually had some chatter indicating that. This was not an authorized operation. I think that the running system is not as dysfunctional that particularly under very stressful circumstances. Wanted to send a clear message. And it it's clear. They wanted to do it initially, but not attacking American targets. They could have planted these limpet mines below the waterline and caused massive damage. These tankers, most of them were planted above the waterline. Japanese region own vessels. The drone. Tick tock indicated that Iranian towards sure, whether it was Mandarin man, I think they knew exactly what they were doing. And I suspect as part of their own quote unquote maximum pressure campaign. We'll see where it goes from here. Now, it would seem that the United States has a lot of options before it. There's no ver- example. No, the sesame of, of a single boot on the ground anywhere that just with the forces with the ABRAHAM LINCOLN carrier group that we could respond to the extent that we chose to take out the, the base from which the missile was launched a few airbases naval bases. Whatever we chose to it doesn't strike me, as either a potential quagmire or an area of limited options, that seems to be the options, including of course, doing nothing. The options are virtually limitless, bay are real question is trying to figure out what is the purpose of, of retaliation. I mean there has to be a strike. The question is, what is its purpose? Is it to punish to deter or is it ask and function here once the administration, and I hope it will think through implications and consequences. It will find a way to respond and may not be known by the way. There's an enormous range and flexibility of options, I think, however, that if you look at Mr. Trump's behavior, when it comes to projection of American military. Proportionate and very risk averse. I made the point that he's in cyberspace as risk versus predecessor common mistake. How did you describe it a loose fool or or something of that nature? Yeah. I mean basically again. He understands the limitations of American power problems of moving into a situation like this would which could be an open ended conflict, which, I don't think he distinguished fellow era. "Date back in some cases, decades all part of the White House crackdown that was started about two years ago. This is after they lost at the circuit court of appeals lawmakers from both sides of the aisle have signed a letter demanding that consideration be do them and to the consideration for the fact that they face certain persecution. If they returned home to Iraq when we wanted to get an update on their status, we turn to Margo slang, or who has represented many of these individuals throughout this court process. She's a university of Michigan law professor who also assist with the ACLU Margot. Good afternoon. So of these we're talking several hundred now involved in this have been arrested under this crackdown. Are how many are likely to be deported tomorrow? How many are facing deportation and how many are at least in the queue to get a hearing. Well, I I don't I don't anticipate that anyone's going to get deported tomorrow. Just to be clear what happens tomorrow is that the day of removal a court order that prevented them from being deported going to go away. That means that if they're going to resist getting deported. They need to get an individual stay of removal from immigration court. A bunch of them have done that others are going to try, and so they're all under more threat tomorrow than they are today for those that have sought hearings in her part in process. What has been their circumstances? Have they been allowed to stay or are they facing deportation? How do they do once they go through the process out? A couple of hundred people have reopened their immigration cases, because they explained to immigration judges that that country conditions in Iraq have changed since they were ordered removed years ago and that under current long current facts, they're not appropriate to be removed. So they've made a showing of that their cases have been reopened. And now they're back in front of immigration. Judges fighting those cases if they've managed to reopen their cases and a couple of hundred have then they're not going to be deported until those cases are re-concluded. What is there a probability of success in front of an immigration judge knowing and we have seen the kind of persecution of Christians face in Iraq? Now. People have most of those cases are pending. So an end the immigration proceedings are slow. So a lot of them are going to be pending for pretty long time. But out of the ones that have been resolved so far there has been a few dozen where the the person who was facing deportation has won their case. And so they're they're now safe from deportation. Some of them have even naturalized. I mean, some of them have become US citizens. There have been a couple dozen where they've lost. And then there's several hundred that are in between that are pending so in in terms of the consequences here, these there may be folks that a look of these are people in many instances did crimes that's how they got on the removal list in the first place. This is the foreseen consequences of their actions. They should have known that before they committed the crime. What would you say to folks that say, you know, they shouldn't have done that? Yes. So so many of these folks committed fairly minor crimes a very long time ago. And what I would say about that is that it is not the case that when somebody commits a minor crime that the right answer to that is to send them into harm's way in a country that they've never known as an adult. I think that's that's far too Harsha consequence and our system thinks that that's far too. Harsh consequence to that's why if they reopened their cases, many of them are winning because that's not actually what the law requires. So what we're asking for here is not that they should be automatically all of them allowed to stay here. But we're asking that there'd be time for individualized Justice. And when they have time for individualized, John a lot of them are going to win terms of the the the political backdrop here, we now have congressman John Molenaar, Paul Mitchell signing onto a letter. Also, I think Elissa slot can Rashida to lead a Brenda Lawrence many lawmakers on both sides of the offer. Michigan say, let's pump the brakes on this and make sure that these that the longstanding contribution some of these folks have made to this country is taken into consideration. Does that kind of congressional support make a difference? Yes. So the effort is right now being led by congressman Andy Levin by congressman Molenaar and congresswoman lists. And and and they are doing that. And I hope very much that it will make a difference. It's bipartisan, and it's nearly nearly all of the congress people who are in districts where there are Iraqis have joined the effort, and our pressing the administration, and I hope that it will really make a difference. I hope that the administration will see its way towards giving people enough time for individualized Justice. I I know there has been some frustration with with have they played. Fairly their their tactics. Been even handed in the in the court cases that you've been adjudicating. So I should just make my own role. Clear. I haven't been appearing in the individual immigration cases on class council and the federal litigation. So I represent all of these folks in there in the in the big joint federal case, but not in the individual cases. And so what what I can say is that ISIS putting tremendous pressure on a rack to take people back in a way that that has for decades, not put that much pressure on Iraq. And that ice is leaving. No stone on turned in terms of its opposition to the people who want to stay here. And so the the the situation is it's it's a very very harsh environment for people. All right, Margot, Sean. Thank you so much for the update will await to see what the hearings results in. In the meantime, thanks for the workers, you're doing on behalf of these in many of them longtime Michigan. Citizens who have clean records for the past couple of decades. We appreciate it. Thank you so much. All right..

"Early on the day. He was like I'm not gonna throw under the bus except my trash s offensive line. To be fair to him is fair. You know, that's a big problem this year. I think that ultimately, you You know. know, I've said this a little bit earlier, but I don't think they can replace all three spots, and I'm referring to excuse me left guard right guard and right tackle. I don't think he'll do that with three high end options in one ozzy's. And I think one of the guard spots is going to be west Schweitzer. It's going to be a healthy Andy Levin trae if they get him there and resign them. It's going to be branded foods, go whatever it's going to be a retread there who is going to be very angry at the end Quinn after that. But I think That. that. Looks signed somebody or, you know, have a new competitor at the very least those guards spots, and they will almost certainly I think move on from Ryan trader, I hate to see it. I really like Ryan trader, but this was a very bad year. You can't take the chance that he's going to repeat that again with the cap hit. He's got with the money that they can save by moving on from him. It just it makes a lot of sense to do that from a team perspective from a financial perspective. I think they bring back high some very low they may be let back on oh compete there. And they go ahead and draft somebody to so you might see more Thais umbrella than you want to which is true of all of us. But they're gonna. That spot. And I think honestly, you can make the case that if west white says you're starting left guard, but you've upgraded right guard. Right tackle, you're you're probably doing. Okay. You're in good shape. Yeah. And just to be clear, I think, you know, for those fans that pay any attention to it for PF some Bray oh to his credit finished the season with a relatively decent score of sixty seven which puts him about about league average. So he wasn't great. But he wasn't a disaster either. So I guess maybe not a resounding sort of, you know, assessment of of who's can be helping to protect Matt Ryan. But he is he was not a disaster.
