"A man with a dream with plans to make three Clint is going to or. This is about survival. FX's snowball, the final season, all new Wednesdays, on FX, stream on Hulu. The XFL returns Saturday night as the rough next take on the guardians on FX and ESPN deportes at 70. Third fall by the brahmas, and the sea dragons and Sunday on ESPN2, the renegade square off against the battle hawks at four eastern one Pacific. That is the vipers and the defenders, the atmosphere in D.C. has been elected. Every game is also available on ESPN plus. Again, less than 24 hours from the franchise tag deadline coming our way tomorrow at four Eastern Time. Shifty, what do you know about the plans for the New York Giants as it pertains to Daniel Jones? We'll feel the Giants and Daniel Jones have been and continue to be working on a long-term extension that would then give them the flexibility to use the franchise tag on running back saquon Barkley who would be the third running back to get the franchise tag. We've seen Tony Pollard got it. A few minutes ago, Josh Jacobs got the franchise tag and saquon Barkley would become the third running back to get the franchise tag. Now the Giants and Jones continue talking. And I think there's some continued optimism that a deal can be struck by the 4 p.m. deadline eastern tomorrow so that the Giants would preserve that franchise tag and be able to use it on sacrum broker, but they feel like Brian de ball really tapped into Daniel Jones talents this year. I think Daniel Jones wants to stay in New York, both sides would like to get this deal done and I think they continue to move closer and closer to getting this deal done. We'll see whether or not they can put it across the finish line by 4 p.m. eastern tomorrow. Well, the deal does get done. One thing we can say for certain, no player made himself more money this past season than Daniel Jones, but do you think that this team should be paying Daniel Jones north of $40 million per year? No, okay. And I want to say this though. Daniel, Daniel earned the right to be the quarterback of next year for the Giants. And he earned more money. Then he was going to make at the start of August or whatever. But who are you baiting against? I mean, everyone always in this business says who you are, worth what the market is going to pay you. Who else is paying Daniel 40 plus $1 million? I can't think of a team. The jets wouldn't Seattle wooden. Carolina in Carolina is not going to Indy's not going to. They'd rather draft young kids. So that's why I sit there and who we are we bidding against and Daniel played better this year. 15 touchdowns 5 interceptions. I think the world of Brian dabel. I don't know Joe Shane, but I'm very high on him. Daniel Jones took 15 touchdowns. Justin Fields missed two games and threw more. To a missed four games and threw more deck Prescott missed 5 games in through more. So the Giants are very much so banking that he's going to get better and also the talent around him even though his contract is going to be 40 plus $1 million is going to be better because this is a huge number for a guy who basically didn't throw interceptions this year. Yeah. And I think there's a lot of things that work here. Number one, I think they feel as though they will open up things for Daniel Jones a little bit more this year relative to last year because one, they'll be able to protect him better, particularly inside where they feel as though they need to upgrade center in both guards and the two young tackles. You know, namely Evan Neil will get better Andrew Thomas was one of the best tackles in professional football last year. That's number one. Number two, they want to keep both guys because they feel as though both of them are in a role in very important to their long-term success, but here it's the strategy of trying to keep both of them. They're willing to pay a little bit more for the quarterback relative to what the risk is of him maybe not being able to perform and continue to improve instead of paying the running back a market leading contract based off of what history tells you once you pay a running backs as they hit a second contract. The risk shifts, you know, exponentially to the side of the team. So they would love to baby pay a little bit more, keep the quarterback, use the franchise tag and pay as you go for the running back. That's this business. That's just the way they're trying to conduct it. And I can see why they're hoping it works out that way. Yeah, it feels like an almost every case, a long-term contract for a quarterback is the end goal, but it might not be the worst thing if the Giants have one more year of Daniel Jones sort of playing it out to earn it on a franchise type. Let's talk about saquon Barkley here for a second. Go, how does he fit in all this? Well, he's your best player. But he plays a position that's very vulnerable. The injured running back. And he's carried the ball a lot already. And that would be my concern a little bit here. And I think he's a fantastic player. Yeah. But if you're going to pay this quarterback all this money and we just talked about it earlier that all of a sudden you're going to open this offense. Then things change. In my opinion, you become a more explosive offense because now the forward pass becomes part of what you want to do, right? And when you look at the running back situation here, he's a guy that has been nicked up song. And you got to be very careful when you start paying running backs. And he's played one full season. Take one? Yeah. Or two. Okay, two and 5 in the Daniel Jones had one good year. Yes. In 5. Not great years. No. And so now we're going to allocate 50 plus $1 million. This year, to those two players, that's a lot to take in. And again, Daniel Jones went into this season 50 touchdowns 49 turnovers. The Giants had a surprising year. So everyone's excited. And he played well and he deserves some form of a contract. No doubt. I just think 40 plus $1 million at that position for his performance is a lot to try and swallow. They can be tricky. That much is for sure. What a busy day we've had for the news. And by the way, it has not stopped as go to the AFC south, Calvin Ridley is back for the Jacksonville Jaguars nearly a year after he was suspended. He is back, chef D, but more do we know about the situation involving Calvin Ridley? We'll feel that I remember it was one year ago on a Monday, the Monday before the new league gear started that the NFL suspended Calvin Ridley one year for allegedly betting on games and almost one year to the day. One year prior to that exact date, the NFL has now reinstated calvary, but when he was suspended he was with the falcons. Now he's with the Jacksonville Jaguars and this is a big boost for the Jaguars offense. He's allowed to join that team effective immediately. He can show up. He can work out. He can begin to learn the playbook. And when you start to envision the Jaguars offense, this upcoming season, Trevor Lawrence, Travis Etienne, Calvin Ridley, Christian Kirk, and today they placed the franchise tag on tight end Evan Ingram to make sure that he's back in Jacksonville. So there as you laid out in that tweet field is the Jaguars offense as it's currently constituted for the 2023 season. This team is building up loads of talent on offense and Calvin Ridley will be the newest chess piece for Trevor Lawrence. Yeah, very clearly, he's a number one receiver in the NFL. If he's anything like he was back in the day, the Jaguars on paper have a top three top four offense. And now we're talking about in their division, they have the best quarterback and they have clearly the best receiver. If Calvin Ridley is even a shell of who he was in a past. Trevor Lawrence took massive leaps this year forward without that bona FIDE number one Christian Kirk is paid to be one and he performed at a pretty darn good level, but we're talking about an offense that could roll out three wide receivers now a tight end and a tailback that you go, how do we hold them down? How do we stop them? Trevor Lawrence takes that third year step like we saw Josh Allen do two years ago. We're talking about Jacksonville as a bona FIDE AFC title contestant. Do not forget. This was a trade that was consummated during the NFL's trade deadline this past season one that Jacksonville knew they weren't going to have Ridley for at least the rest of last year, pretty shrewd business done down there in Duval. Hey, still to come, Anthony Richardson put on a show at the NFL combine with a literally record breaking performance here, but we think this could

When you look at these two teams, both were not very good on offense. Last year, In fact, the Giants were ranked 31st in yards per game. The Broncos not much better at 23rd points per game. They were 31st as well. Broncos 28 sacks allowed. Their offensive line was atrocious. They were 31st was the Broncos were tied for 13th. So You get Nate solder back. He opted out a year ago. He's a guy that von Miller said this year this week that he's really familiar with. They were in the same draft class. Obviously plenty of folks around these parts. No, the university native and See you all. American had a great career with the Patriots won some rings with Tom Brady and then got a bunch of money and just hasn't really been the same with the Giants. And then, like I mentioned, he opted out last year. We know about his kid who's battled some Medical issues so understandable why Nate solder didn't didn't play last year, but so they detonate soldier back, But it's kind of a mash unit up front. When you look at how their offenses Is not only put together, but just battling through stuff. Evan Ingram is out. Then tight end. The really explosive pass catcher has got great speed for a tight and he just flat out out and How much they say one. Barkley is going to be used as certainly up in the air. It's It's a little challenging when you don't know what they're going to what they're going to be able to do with the guy that was obviously the second pick just a couple years ago, Adoree Jackson. He's dealing with an ankle issue as well, and they have a bunch of other guys. Um, veteran tight end Kyle Rudolph, as well as tackle Andrew Thomas was one of the high draft picks just a couple of years ago. And they're trading for centers are trading for guards. It's uh It's It's kind of a patchwork o line. And, uh, I think they're just not as healthy as maybe they would. Obviously not. Maybe they would hope to be right now. Then you had to everything. Uh, the backdrop of 9 11 and the anniversary yesterday, And if you listen to the entire shell shocked podcast, you can hear me talk about my experience living in New York on 9 11. I had filed unemployment on September 10th. I had a roommate that worked in one of the adjacent World Trade Center buildings that really great friend from growing up. In another adjacent building, and another really good friend lives a few blocks south, So I get into more detail there on Shell shocked the Shelby Harris podcast and Shelby talks about his 9 11 experience as well. But we know it's going to be extra emotional on on the field, and you're gonna have a bunch of Pageantry. If you will, and I can't think of a better way to put it. Maybe just ceremonies you try to Honor the first responders. So so many great men and women that lost their lives as well as just employees that were in the towers. Those days are that day in those two towers over 3000 people that have died marriage anyone? Who has never been to go to the 9 11 Museum at the side of the World Trade Center. It's it's really moving. It's really It's really breathtaking. There's not really a better way to describe it, and you've got the two waiting pools of footprints. From the two towers, enough freedom towers down there as well. Um, but it can be really emotional, You know, Like I said, I was living in New York I my first job out of school at the Golf magazine that had gone out of business. "They're going to be around and they're much better on the defensive side of the ball like I just feel like you know, when we start looking at the Steelers were double digit win team from a year ago, so we'll see what happens with them on the offensive side, like I feel like there are more proven commodities in the FC. Then there are in the NFC. So yeah, I think the Chiefs are going to have a little bit more competition. But the one thing that I like about what they did this offseason is they shored up that offensive line we saw that was a sore spot in the Super Bowl. They went out and they upgraded as far as I'm concerned that left tackle bring it over Orlando Brown from the Ravens. They went out and they drafted Creed Humphrey and Trey Smith. Two guys that figure to be in the lineup in week. One and from all reports have been really, really solid as rookies, and then they signed Joe Tuna and free agency they gave that man about. Back of money. So if you build a brick wall in front of Pat Mahomes Who was already the most deadly quarterback in the NFL. I mean, that's just going to take this offense to another level, so I'm excited to see what happens in the pack my home's revenge tour that is the Kansas City Chiefs Season in 2021. He played 11 seasons in the National Football League, drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in 2000 and five not part of Canty and Golden Junior and ESPN Radio from Florida. Peter 70 Eastern time Monday through Friday, he is Chris Candy, joining Freddy Come in Jordan Rendon on Freddie and Fitzsimmons on ESPN Radio hit him on Twitter at Chris Canty 99. I'm going to talk to the guy that's no longer the National Football League. And that guy's Cam Newton. He said part of his instagram in front of his old high school today that he believes that being unvaccinated was not the cause of why the pages moved on from him. He said he believed that if he stuck around, they kept them around. He would have been a distraction being a backup quarterback because magazines getting the starting quarterback position. Where are your thoughts on Cam Newton and what he said giving his truth? About what happened in New England. Freddy. I don't think there were any lies told in that Cam Newton interview man. I think he's right. It was going to happen eventually. And let's be honest, like the Patriots invested the 15th overall pick in Matt Jones at some point this season. They were going to turn it over to him. But I just think that timeline got expedited a little bit because of how well Matt played throughout the course of the preseason, and if they're neck and neck in terms of productivity throughout training camp, then the nod is going to go to the young guy because he's going to have more runway with the organization. He's going to be around a lot longer. And so I think that's what actually happened now. Did it make it a little bit easier for Bill Belichick? In the Patriots to move off a camp because of what happened with the violation of the covid protocols. I'm gonna go ahead and say yes, but I don't think that was the motivation behind naming Mac Jones, the starter. I think that that was what they were going to do all along, just based on how the preseason unfolded. Chris, We can't have you out without asking about the Giants, right? I mean, so we've got a Cowboys fan has a Cowboys fan? Sure you can. You don't have to ask about the job. They're not going to be really good feed right into you here, Right? So I'm on the Daniel Jones band like I really do. I think he's a quality quarterback in the league, Maybe not a top quarterback quality quarterback. Can he make that jump this year? You on board with me on that that he's going to make that jump because of the help around him, Or is that offensive line in your opinion, too prohibitive? Jordan. I'm hoping that he makes that jump. You know, I root for Daniel Jones. He went to my high school in Charlotte, North Carolina, and I actually was on the phone with our high school coach Larry McNulty yesterday, and he was just talking about how much of a disservice that the Giants have done, Daniel, because I'm not sure enough. That offensive line that's one of the things that Dave Gettleman priest when he took over the job at the end of 2017. He was going to get that line fixed. He was all about the hog. Molly's Here We are. Four years later, it's still Ahead and gotten done. And I'm sorry, but it's hard for me to have confidence in that group being able to figure it out after I saw what they did in the preseason finale against the Patriots when they were just giving it up. I mean, Andrew Thomas wasn't absolute turnstile. Josh was having his way with him, and so was the rest of that Patriots defensive front. So I just I can't have any confidence in what this Giants offense is going to be. I know they put a lot into the skill position players and getting sick. Juan Barkley back should help make things easier for Daniel Jones. But there really isn't a great game plan that you can have or come up with when your offensive line camp block. So this is probably one of the worst week one matchups that the Giants could ask for because there is no easing in when it comes to the defensive front of the Broncos, led by von Miller and Bradshaw up Chris Cathy from Candy and Garlic Jr and ESPN radio for Peter 70 Monday through Friday, also played in the National Football League on Friday..

"So i don't think it's too crazy to say here that both these teams coming into this game are equipped to be very very good defensively. And there's a strong possibility this ends up being a low scoring slugfest type game just based on some of the stuff that we've talked about here and if we're evaluating this this broncos defense it has to start with talking about their edge rushers as well as their defensive line and the obvious ones that will be talked about throughout the entirety of this game is von miller in bradley chubb. Both highly drafted players both highly talented players and have been when healthy very very disruptive when they're both on the field and so the giants gets face these guys week one when they're both available and ready to play. It is going to be a tough task for. What's supposed to be nate. Solder and andrew thomas for blocking both of these guys yet chubb is actually dealing with a i think a slight ankle tweak right now need in practice on wednesday that could just be the broncos managing his rep. So it's there's something to pay attention to men. How dangerous is a chris. Von miller and bradley job against matt pair needs solar and andrew. Thomas i mean. That's something that i'm i'm pretty concerned but not to mention the return of mike purcell. Who's one of their better nose. Tackles who can really anchor down the front defense. That is run a lot by vic fangio so this defense against his offense of lines due to the front against offensive line is something that ab i. I have some some some concerns about shirt. I think we have to start with those two edge rushers the last time those two guys were healthy together. Twenty nineteen they. Had i think twenty six and a half sacks between them up chubb has been getting better he had both at seven and a half sacks just all on his own last year without a whole lot of help from elsewhere in the defense von miller was missed the season with a dislocated tendon which ouch and they had completely different secondary that something will get to a little bit and not a whole hell of a lot of help from the offense so if those guys are healthy end clicking end we did get to see them in preseason von miller. He looked like he might have been a little bit rusty but a that dude has been so good for so long. I don't think you can plan on him being any less than his best but then they also have a shelby harassed sean williams dream on jones in their front seven yet. They've got a lot of guys who are really good at penetrating in creating disruption in the backfield and yet that has to be something the giants account for like. They're just not as about it scary too. I mean it's it's definitely that you think about this denver broncos front you think about bradley chubby think about bonn miller then you think about the struggles that you saw in a note was priests anything about the struggles that we saw from andrew thomas in the preseason it's that's definitely probably the main concern. I would say faida circle one liability at the giants have right now. Is the offensive line just in general. I mean you. Add billy price ben. Bredesen's possibly help the interior. They could realistically see snaps. Two and a half weeks removed from joining this swat. Just because we saw chamomile partially porn teller pendant. I mean how much is this guy going to be able to play on that. And i'm wondering how much just I i think the giants gonna come out and attempt to establish the broad. They're gonna attempt to push around this. This front and not allow von miller bradley chubb to pin the rears back rush on guys like you know a andrew thomas but in the situations where they are where third long and they're not able to get the run going giants are going to have to probably keep tight ending are running back into chip to help block to slow down those pass rushers Her might see a game plan. Similar to what we saw jason garrett run against the washington football team twice last year where it was a run heavy approach and not a lot of deep drops. Really just a lot of quick game. Just give the football out of your hands. To mitigate the effect of chase young montas sweat and he did a pretty good job doing it. So let's hope that. If jason garrett replicates we could slow von miller in bradley down i think just to to try to predict what vic fangio it's going to do and that is you know that might be a little bit of a fool's aaron because he is definitely one of the best defensive minds in the nfl. Yeah i think he's going to almost try to invite the run. Yeah he uses a lot of like almost five one type alignment in his new defensive fronts. Walking will linebacker. Down to the line of scrimmage but he even though they didn't they still kind of gave up a lot of yards on the ground last year when their defense is healthy. They've got the guys up front. Where even though it looks like. You're getting a light box. You really aren't. They're good at building that wall. Along the line of scrimmage. And you talk about shane. Lemieux with the partially torn patellar tendon. How much is paying going to affect him yet. You can be a tough guy but if your body doesn't wanna work right it's tough to will it. So this really is. I think the matchup debt could define the whole game and another thing to add in here too as well with this. This broncos defense another aspect that is just so strong is their secondary and we spent the offseason talking about how the giants rebuilt their receiver group. They made all these moves to signed kennedy golladay to bring in various tony. You've also got john ross. They signed in free agency. This is a completely new look group from what we saw last year. And we have high expectations but the broncos conversely they did the same thing with their secondary they made some moves to to rebuild that group and they have a pretty talented underrated secondary that they're going to be trotting out there on the field drafted patrick's retain top ten. They also they have. Is it key positions with kyle fuller and Ronald darby as well as justin simmons cadence turns we know is a very good athlete. Not necessarily the the best safety who plays on when he put brings it all to the field but a good athlete general so this is a very very strong secondary that the giants receivers are going to be facing off against. Yes the secondary with. Patrick 'certain on. I'm wondering how they're going to utilize 'certain just because i've heard rumblings that they're probably going to use 'certain in a role similar to To cover guys. Like travis kelsey end darren waller. The giants aren't gonna have ingram Allocate 'certain in that manner. Even if evan ingram was one hundred percent healthy so we may be looking at some 'certain covering kenny golladay. Who's coming off an injury looking pretty good from all the stuff that we're seeing in practice but other than 'certain is going to be as i you know action you have kyle fuller. You have ronald darby like you said. I mean kareem jackson. Justin jefferson or justin simmons. That is a really really solid back. End safety in the bryce callahan. Who a lot of people were talking about last year as an excellent slot. Type of cornerback. Who can probably cover sterling shepherding. That could be another match up to watch just from the top down. This defense is is very solid. The giants offense has question marks. And that's probably why we we want to discuss the concern that we have. Especially if they can't block von miller and bradley job. So i'm interested to see how jason garrett is going to use players like cadavers. Tony and how is he going to operate. Just the receivers in general but the snap counts. I'm wondering how much could area's. Tony is going to play how much they on barclays gonna play..

"That's that's kind of my gut based on and then see how he responds for Friday, right? Some conversations that were had today But tomorrow is gonna be the pivotal day for Bradley Chip. I think no offense going to play But you know Bradley Child is that's the one that's the gigantic question mark, and then I'll field stuff occurring at that's just one extra headache on top of it. Also, how does this impact the game? I mean, Because we know Von Miller is good. He's full participant. Good to go. The the offensive tackles for the Giants, Andrew Thomas and Nate Solder, actually playing right tackle. So we know what Malik read is we know Malik read is a serviceable Spot starter. He's a good player is a guy you need on your team. In the event of either rotation or an injury. But it's certainly not the Von Miller Bradley Chubb Show that we've all been anxiously anticipating this entire off season. Is it right hands? Von Miller will be up against solder and Matt Peart on the right side there. Um, if I don't know, Perch plan or not, but He was the the starter last year. Solder doesn't really have a lot. He's not the same player he used to be. And that's a mismatch in bonds favor on the other side, Andrew Thomas, That's where you need somebody who like a Bradley Chubb. I don't think Malik readers got enough power to be the guy to beat Andrew Thomas consistently. Andrew Thomas is not impressed Me. He didn't impress me coming out of the draft, and certainly last year in his first year, I thought he struggled, but You'd also save the entire offensive line struck their offensive line is bad. And they got Shane Lemieux. There is a serviceable left guard. Um, I would call him die Adult Horizon. Er will Hernandez Hernandez is okay at the right guard. Their centers is Nick Gates, and he's not very good in his backup is Billy Price, who was terrible. And in Cincinnati. Oh, that's right. They did get Billy Price right. And so you know, you've got an offensive line. That's just not that good. Overall, It's a bottom six or seven offensive line in the league, which is great news for the Broncos, who, maybe even without Bradley Chubb have basically the full complement of defensive line back. Expectations of Draymond to be up expectations with Mike Purcell, along with Shelby Harris back at the defensive line. Plus again, you know, McAlpin a game had I mean, depending on if he's a healthy scratch or not, but he had a really nice off season training camp. So I mean, I think there's some reasons to be excited about the matchups here. It just feels like a bit of a letdown, not having Bradley Chubb out there and again. I'm not saying that he's not. I'm just saying that he's not going to 100%. I think we know that for certain and there may be limitations on how much they'll actually use them in game. Based on the fact that we're still at this point now in game week on Wednesday, and he still can't get a full practice. Yeah, I'm wondering if we're gonna get to see a little bit of coop. I wonder if we're gonna get a little see. Let me go to Jonathan Cooper. Yeah. Um you know, I I He he put on a show in training camp, and I wonder if we're gonna get to see a little bit out of him. Platooning because I don't know Malik is more the other side. You know, Malik is better, Uh, when? When going up against the right tackle. That was where he made most of his living last year. And so I kind of think that they want to keep him over there. And so I I wanted to ask that question. I didn't really get a chance to today because with the practice, but I didn't go to the pressers which were before right up after like, they usually are. So I my my plan is to kind of slip that question in tomorrow. Certainly, and you're you're right. Tomorrow is going to be a pivotal day for for a lot of reasons, But specifically, those two players know a fan being out in the field and I need an argument. It was it was that you were off. But I made an argument that Alberto Cola Bernam might end up being the Broncos best. Tight end by the end of this season is a better blocker. He is he can be a complete receiver. The drops are something that we're gonna have to monitor. But no fan had drops to. We saw that even in training camp, so I made kind of the point of like, Hey, listen, If we're really having a conversation about this, I don't think it's outlandish. By the end of the year. We're saying that Alberto Cuevas I was actually the Broncos best tight end. It's possible. It's possible. Um, it's possible. I wouldn't say it probable, but it's possible. No if no fans really worked on quite a bit to get himself worried, super talented, he's just limited right now, and it's certainly an on field weapon like, Don't go. No Internet advantage, tight end sets to see Oh, get out there, and that's a question. I want to get into a little bit later on, because Jackson right, a guy Ted win, actually put in an article talking about the teams. I have the best. Uh, they went he went through. Hold on. Let me pull this up right now. He went through the best personnel groupings. And and how each team across the NFL Broncos showed up on this, By the way the best personnel groupings in the NFL. The Broncos showed up on this list. And I want to ask you a little bit later on specifically about that, Like what's the Broncos Best personnel grouping? I don't think it's an automatic 11 personnel even with Courtland Sutton, Jerry Judy, KJ Hamler and Tim Patrick. I don't know. If 11 is best suited for what this team wants to do, So I want to have that conversation with you a little later on, and I'll tell you where the Broncos showed up on this. Okay? Okay. So we'll get to that Ted Ted Wind crushes it over the athletic. This is a really good article, but We'll get into that a little bit later on like, so we're gonna hear from Teddy Bridgewater Broncos are tired of losing man. It's palpable. It comes up every single press conference. They're sick of being asked about it. They're sick of talking about these things to think about. I loved Melvin Gordon's answer today. About it. We We don't have enough time right now. But he talked about being tired of losing and tired of watching Patrick Mahomes lift up Championship trophies. We great answer. Yeah, it is. I got some stuff I want to get into in the next segment. Actually, we got George, okay. Real quick and I have had some conversations with some players over the last two days, some off the record private on background, you know, kind of stuff..

"To Mark Schlereth, three time Super Bowl champion host of on 143 the fan in Denver Mark getting back to the Broncos or how hot I'm surprised by this because his defense is so widely imitated. But people are talking about Fangio's hot seat. Potentially, you were talking earlier about the offensive line and the Giants offensive line, and I think that has something to do with coaching him up to like Eric Flowers is doing fine. Now that he's away from the Giants, Andrew Thomas is struggling. These high draft picks and everything, but they're going up against that Fangio defense. And yet Fangio is as on a hot seat, apparently without a great quarterback. How hot should his seat B. You know, I think it should be hot. I mean, I think the the bottom line is often times and we joke around here in Denver, but it's not really a joke. You know Jokes are jokes are always funny, because there's some partial truth to them right and There are big fans use is really the coach of the defence. Um, they always kept the play calling duties on the defensive side of the ball after practice to ask you about, you know, offensive things. I don't know. I was watching the defense will have to go back and watch the film right? Um, there's there's some things that just don't seem, um they just don't seem like like head coach material. And I always say this about head coaches, you know, I travel around the league as you guys know for Fox and calling games and talking to head coaches all the time. There are guys regardless of their knowledge of exes and ohs. There are guys that are just good managers. They do a great job of coaching coaches and letting the players kind of play and understanding, strengths and weaknesses in putting guys in positions. To maximize strengths and minimize weaknesses. And they have this kind of overall CEO type of view of their football team, and they let their coaches coach and I think I think sometimes you know, even as an offensive play car, defensive play call you get so entrenched in that way of thinking that you lose sight of some of the management parts of the game on Sunday, and that really is where Vic has struggled in the management section of the Games, timeouts. You know, he saves time outs like he can sell them on eBay. And you know what you gotta at some point you've got to be. You've got to use them, you know, and you've gotta strategize. And so that's been a real issue. And then obviously you know when you're 5 11 and and what were they 79 5 and 11 under Vic Fangio in two years and and you haven't produced even on the defensive side. You were like 27 28th in the league last year, and I understand you had a bunch of injuries, but The bottom line. None of it has been very good. So far, so yeah. And you've never won a game. You're O n seven in September and you're Turner over differential is minus eight. You've turned it over 10 times under his Two alleging and you've only taken the ball away twice. Um, you're gonna be on the hot seat. There it is. Ladies and gentlemen. Great Mark Schlereth. Mark. Thanks. A million for coming on. By the way, Long time. Long time. I know. "J. Will impact on ESPN radio. So my beloved New York football giants, Oh, boy every year. It's the same thing guys every year. It's the same thing. No offensive line. I've been waiting 10 years for an offensive line. Jerry Reese Aron Cattleman's hog, Molly's and everything, and, um, he drafted Sequana Barkley. Gettleman did with the second overall pick guys when he was 21 22. Rookie season he had over 2000 yards from scrimmage and 15 touchdowns behind a terrible offensive line with the remains of Eli Manning as the quarterback. I mean, the guy is capable of doing some crazy things. This line is awful. Listen to what Jeff Saturday our ESPN NFL analyst had to say about whether or not the Giants should even play, say Kwan versus the Broncos. Sit them sit a man until you are until he is he is 100% and feels game ready, not practice ready. You know, I saw something on the ticker yesterday. All he had a contact practice. Give me a break man in the NFL. They ain't no such thing as contact practices anymore, right? That dude took two or three shots. That is the most violent position played in the NFL. He's going to get hit more often, and guys are going after their legs. They're going low. It's very difficult to protect yourself. At that position. Give him time understand that that the the longevity of his career is directly affected if you try to put him back early Three time Super Bowl champion Mark Schlereth joins us now on the Goodyear hotline brought to you by good. You're making the plays that move you forward. Goodyear. More driven Mark. Long time You heard what Jeff Saturday had to say. What do you think? I think you're gonna play your players. Uh And, you know, he's right about the fact that you don't get you don't get the the hit and do all the things you used to be able to do to make sure guy is ready. But you're never ready. Coming off an A C l You're never ready until you have that kind of sudden epiphany until you go in there and actually do it so you can wait around. You know you can wait around till you get booted out of the league, and the point being is that when when you're physically able to perform and you're ready to perform still mentally, there's still a hurdle. You have to get over and you'll never you'll never jump over that hurdle until you get into a game. So at some point, you got to play. And you could be on a pitch count. You can do all those things, but the bottom line is he's going to have to play and I think he plays this week. Mark When I look at the old line, I specifically look at a guy Andrew Thomas, second year left tackle. Top four pick out of Georgia had anyway just could have anyone. They took it on, and I just watched him get obliterate last year, and it makes me think you know God with that. Duo coming off those edges for Denver. How much trouble is Daniel Jones going to be in this upcoming game? How much pressure is on him in this game? You know, I think the great coaches, J. Well, I think it's a great question, because, um, you know, they struggle now, remember? They came in last year more Colombo was their offensive line coach they were working on. They were trying to be more of a zone team. Joe Judge doesn't like it. He's from New England. He wants to be more of a gap Power counter team, and so they changed midstream. And I will tell you this J well and and you know, I'm the Pied Piper of offensive line, So I'm just going to leave this with you. It's the most skilled position in football. And the reason I say that is think about it. From my perspective. Every day you line up as an offensive lineman, and you're overmatched by the guy that you're playing against athletically, you're the same size, height, weight and all that kind of stuff. But that guy is exponentially a better athlete than you and you have to block him 65 times in a row. And if you mess up one time, and he gets the sack, you suck. And he goes to the Pro Bowl name one other position in all of sport in all of sport, So J will you regard If you all of a sudden gets switched, um, you know, get switched on the center and you blow by the center and lay it up for two. Does everybody say Hey, that's center sucks. We should take him out. He can't play defense. No, they say it was a great switch and a great matchup by your team, and you blew by him. But that's that's the job that you do every single down in the in and out. So you change midstream during the course of a season. There's no identity there all the things you've been working on for For six weeks, you scrap policy. Now we're going to do something different. Hard to develop an identity. It's harder to develop your technique doing that, so and then. Secondly, I'll say this when you struggle and they have struggled, perch struggled over at right tackle. I don't know if you know if they're going to replace him or not, Um, Obviously, Thomas has struggled to some degree, but when you know you have an issue, then it becomes incumbent upon the coaches to mitigate that issue. And that's that. You mitigate that issue through calling plays you don't line up on, you know, third down and 10 and say, Let's go 50 protection. We've got the four downs and the mic and we're not slide in one way or another. We're not getting help because we want five eligibles in the pattern. Expect to get your quarterback hit because you put them in that position. So those are the things that you have to do as an organization. The best coaches in this league don't just attack weaknesses. Number one, they mitigate potential disaster. And that's what they're going to have to do in New York. Three time Super Bowl champion Mark Schlereth joins us this morning on Keyshawn J. Will and Max. He is the host of Slayer than Evans on one of 4.3, the fan in Denver. Mark talking about the fan Denver and everything else. They decided the Broncos to go with Teddy Bridgewater at the quarterback spot. Can he get them over the hump? Well, that's going to be a complementary football thing. Specialties has been awful. They've they've addressed that, you know, by picking up players right after right after the final roster was announced. Um, that's going to be an issue defensively, you know, on paper and again, you know, Keyshawn. I always say this on paper to spend less a lot less time on the operating table. If the game was played on paper it it isn't But defensively secondary wise, they are loaded man. They have some players Patzer can. The second is is phenomenal Young player and he'll be all over the football field from the outside to the inside slot to even playing linebacker in dime, So that kid is all over the place they've got. They've got a lot of talent there, backend and obviously to pass rushers coming off the edge in von Miller and Bradley Chubb, and they've got a couple of backup kids that can really rush the passer as well. So They should be very stout. It's more about making good decisions and it really it really came down to pocket presence. And you'd be better at this than than I playing with quarterbacks. You know, I want to want to Dude quarterback can't get off the front side. You know he's going to wait for the front side and can't get to the back side and doesn't know exactly where everybody else and doesn't really doesn't really sense or feel the pass rush, or he sees ghosts..

"That crazy play through the that wacky Hail Mary. All right, so that was right after the Bible. Murray? Yep, Hell, Murray, they won 32 to 30. And so it was all right. This team is on the on the they they might do. All right. Then they played Seattle, right? That's when he got hurt that right? And then he gets hurt. And then New England is the struggle they lose. They lose to the Rams again. They beat the Giants and Eagles because they were bad at that time, and then they lose the last two games against the 40 Niners in the Rams, and so it just it fell apart, even though it felt like it was heading in the right direction, so that but it fell apart for a reason. Murray got hurt. Did he stopped running football? Yes, yes, And they became very predictable. It's a very good point, but they ended up losing some games that I got just I don't know. I'm betting money on Carol on the Cardinals to make it. Yeah, just a little context there. I'm I'm on the fence. I You know, it's not about me. It's not even about the Cardinals. If they're like in the South, or they're in the NFC east of the different story right now, Elizabeth in the NFC East, they probably won 13 games. This upset with 13. I'm saying if they were 13, the Giants aren't as good as I think that, and Washington is not as giant. So line is. It's Yeah, it's rough. It's it's restaurants. Gonna sabotage this season. Billy's gonna Yes, like no playoffs and destroyed the season. The giant that's not the giant. What I was thinking three weeks ago. Yes, but then I watched the last preseason game by the way, was the only time the starters started. And it was ugly. And I'm not just talking about Andrew. Thomas got three sacks. You know, I know was sick. So he was sick earlier in the week and he wanted to play because he didn't have any time. Maybe there's a little bit of excuse there. But Matt Peart on the other side. He wasn't sick. He looked that bad. It looks sick after the game. Exactly. So I got really worry about them. And I really worry them. They're going to push sake. Want out there too soon? God, and I don't know. I'm just worried. I'm optimistic, but I'm worried. Okay, okay. Let's get the update from act coming up after that inbounds out of bounds. How about this? An unexpected trade destination for Ben Simmons. Would it make sense for both sides will dissect that after acts up there Right now, here's rich. "They should be very stout. It's more about making good decisions and it really it really came down to pocket presence. And you'd be better at this than than I playing with quarterbacks, you know, want to When a dude a quarterback can't get off the front side, You know he's going to wait for the front side, and it can't get to the back side and doesn't know exactly where everybody else and doesn't really doesn't really sense or feel the pass rush, or he sees ghosts. And that's really what it came down to. To me is not so much drew lock doesn't have a big arm and drew out doesn't have potential upside. It's that in the pocket drew lock just didn't manage the game. Well, he didn't get off. You know from from the front side of the back side quickly didn't know where everybody was. And he took hits. And was unaware sometimes from a protection standpoint, and that's part of being a young quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, Um, theoretically will just operate and keep them out of harm's way in in those situations, So that's the reason they went there and You know it's going to be complementary. They're they're going to have to play. You know? Good offense, Sidley. They're going to have to stay on schedule so that that defense can shine and really be great. Talking to Mark Schlereth, three time Super Bowl champion host of on one. Oh 43, the fan in Denver mark getting back to the Broncos or how I'm surprised by this because his defense is so widely imitated. But people are talking about Fangio's hot seat. Potentially, you were talking earlier about the offensive line and the Giants offensive line, and I think that has nothing to do with coaching them up to like Eric Flowers is doing fine. Now that he's away from the Giants, Andrew Thomas is struggling. These high draft picks and everything, but they're going up against that Fangio defense. And yet Fangio is is on the hot seat, apparently without a great quarterback. How hot should his seat B. You know, I think it should be hot. I mean, I think the the bottom line is often times and we joke around here in Denver, but it's not really a joke. You know Jokes are jokes are always funny, because there's some partial truth to them right and There are big fans. You is really the coach of the defence. Um, you know, he kept the play calling duties on the defensive side of the ball after practice to ask you about, you know, offensive things. I don't know. I was watching the defense will have to go back and watch the film right? Um, there's there's some things that just don't seem, um they just don't seem like like head coach material. And I always say this about head coaches. You know, I travel around the league as you guys know for Fox and calling games and talking to head coaches all the time. There are guys regardless of their knowledge of exes and ohs. There are guys that are just good managers. They do a great job of coaching coaches and letting the players kind of play and understanding, strengths and weaknesses and putting guys in positions. To maximize strengths and minimize weaknesses. And they have this kind of overall CEO type of view of their football team, and they let their coaches coach and I think I think sometimes you know, even as an offensive play, call or defensive play call, you get so entrenched in that way of thinking that you lose sight of some of the management parts of the game on Sundays, and that really is where Vic has struggled in the management section of the Games, timeouts. You know, he saves time outs like he can sell them on eBay. And you know, you gotta at some point you got to be. You've got to use them, you know, and you've gotta strategize. And so that's been a real issue. And then obviously you know when you're five and 11 and what were they 79, 5 and 11 under big banjo only two years and and you haven't produced even on the defensive side. Ladies and gentlemen, the Great Mark Schlereth. Mark. Thanks. A million for coming on. By the way, Long time. Long time I know. "You can hit us up on the doctor Pepper Colin liner Twitter feed at Key J and Max 88 7293776888. Say ESPN. So my beloved New York football giants. Oh, boy every year. It's the same thing guys every year. It's the same thing. No offensive line. I've been waiting 10 years for an offensive line, The Jerry Reese era and Gettleman is hog Molly's and everything. And, um, he drafted say Kwan Barkley. Gettleman did with a second overall pick guys when he was 21 22. Rookie season he had over 2000 yards from scrimmage and 15 touchdowns behind a terrible offensive line with the remains of Eli Manning as the quarterback. I mean, the guy is capable of doing some crazy things. This line is Awful. Listen, what Jeff Saturday or ESPN NFL analyst had to say about whether or not the Giants should even play, say Kwan versus the Broncos. Sit them sit a man until you are until he is he is 100% and feels game ready, not practice ready. You know, I saw something on the ticker yesterday. All he had a contact practice. Give me a break man in the NFL. Ain't no such thing as contact practices anymore, right? That dude took two or three shots. That is the most violent position played in the NFL. He's going to get hit more often, and guys were going after their legs. They're going low. It's very difficult to protect yourself. At that position, given time, understand that the longevity of his career is directly affected if you try to put him back early Three time Super Bowl champion Mark Schlereth joins us now on the Goodyear hotline. Brought to you by Goodyear Making the plays that move you forward. Goodyear more driven Mark. Long time You heard what Jeff Saturday had to say. What do you think? I think you're gonna play your players. Uh And, you know, he's right about the fact that you don't get you don't get the hit, do all the things that you used to be able to do to make sure guy is ready. But you're never ready. Coming off an H l You're never ready until you have that kind of sudden epiphany until you go in there and actually do it so you can wait around. You know, you can wait around of the tell you get booted out of the league and the point being is that when when you're physically able to perform and you're ready to perform So mentally, there's still a hurdle. You have to get over and you'll never you'll never jump over that hurdle until you get into a game. So at some point, you got to play and you could be on a pitch count. You can do all those things, but the bottom line is he's going to have to play and I think he plays this week. Mark When I look at the O line, I specifically look at a guy Andrew Thomas, second year left tackle. Top four pick out of Georgia had anyway. Just should had anyone. They took it. God, and I just watched him get obliterate last year, and it makes me think you know God with that. Duo coming off those edges for Denver. How much trouble is Daniel Jones going to be in this upcoming game? How much pressure is on him in his game? You know, I think the great coaches, J. Well, I think it's a great question, because, um, you know they they struggled now, remember? They came in last year. Marc Colombo was their offensive line coach they were working on. They were trying to be more of a zone team. Joe Judge doesn't like it. He's from New England. He wants to be more of a gap power counter team. And so they changed midstream. And I will tell you this J well and not And you know, I'm the Pied Piper of offensive line, So I'm just going to leave this with you. It's the most skilled position in football. And the reason I say that is, think about it from my perspective. Every day you line up as an offensive lineman, and you're overmatched by the guy that you're playing against athletically. You're the same size, height, weight and all that kind of stuff, but that guy's exponentially a better athlete than you. And you have to block him 65 times in a row. And if you mess up one time, and he gets the sack, you suck, and he goes to the Pro Bowl name one other position in all of sports. In all of sports. So J will you are a guard if you all of a sudden gets switched, Um, you know, get switched on the center and you blow by the center and lay it up for two. Does everybody say Hey, that's center sucks. We should take him out. He can't play defense. No, they say it was a great switch and a great matchup by your team, and you blew by him. But that's that's the job that you do every single down in in and out. So you change midstream during the course of a season. There's no identity there all the things you've been working on for for. Six weeks. You scrap policy. Now we're going to do something different. It's hard to develop an identity. It's hard to develop your technique doing that. So, um and then Secondly, I'll say this. When you struggle and they have struggled, struggled over at right tackle. I don't know if you know if they're going to replace him or not, Um, obviously, Thomas's struggled to some degree, but when you know you have an issue Then it becomes incumbent upon the coaches to mitigate that issue. And that's that. You mitigate that issue through calling plays you don't line up on, you know, third down and 10 and say, Let's go 50 protection. We've got the four downs in the mic, and we're not slide in one way or another, and we're not getting help because we want five eligibles in the partner. Expect to get your quarterback hit because you put him in that position. So those are the things that you have to do as an organization, the best coaches this week don't just attack weaknesses Number one, they mitigate potential disaster. Well, that's gonna be a complementary football things. Specialties has been awful. They've they've addressed that, you know, by picking up players right after right after the final roster was announced. That's going to be an issue defensively on paper and again, you know, Keyshawn, I always say that's on paper. It has been a lot less time on the operating table. If the game was played on paper it it isn't But defensively secondary wise, they are loaded man. They have some players Patzer Tan. The second is is phenomenal Young player and he'll be all over the football field from the outside to the inside slot to even playing linebacker and dimes. So that kid is all over the place they've got. They've got a lot of talent or back end and obviously to pass rushers coming off the edge and von Miller And Bradley Chubb, and they've got a couple of backup kids that can really rush the faster as well..

"High hopes for either of those guys. I'll put it that way Gambling was a guy that i liked coming out when he was initially drafted versatility. But i think maybe he's been that versatility has been overused. A little bit is it. Seems like he can't really find a position. Is that think if i'm not mistaken. He's kind of floated around on the played all all over the place But we'll see how out i think. Probably fleming's maybe. Just as good a shot as bobby massey to the majority of snaps the The broncos are in a tough spot at right. Tackle those guys are for a reason and it was so late in the process. When john james got hurt in so you know. That's that's been something that the broncos fans criticize the front office or is that we've kind of known for the last two years the john james's injury prone we don't have a lot of tackle deaf behind him and they've asked on tackles in the draft and he came back to bite them this year. And so we'll see what happens. Hopefully they can get some meaningful snaps out of either mass. Your fleming at the right tackle position but if not they're going to be in trouble all i will tell i will tell you this in bronco fans this. I was actually happy a year ago. When the giants brought cam fleming into new york because for five or six years the first portion of his career he was a very good swing. Tackle a little bit of right little bit left. I think he's dabbled guard a little bit. I think is best. Position is probably right tackle. But i think that what we discovered in new york is kind of what we feared was because nate sold her opted out andrew. Thomas i think the original plan was for andrew thomas to start his career at right tackle. Andrew thomas you know fourth overall pick went to left tackle. Kim fleming moved in as the starting right tackle. This was the first time in his six or seven year career. That i think he had started more than six games. In a season started all sixteen games in the results just weren't good. I think he's he's probably a guy where you if i'm a broncos fan. I probably hope he's not my starting right. Tackle week one because he's a hate to me. He's a good fill in. He's he's a real because he's a hard worker he's pro. He knows what he's doing. He's just not that physically gifted he can probably help a for a game or two but but the more he plays the more he'll get exposed so so. If if i was you guys i would be hoping that. That did bobby. Massey comes in and impresses. Yeah i think that's the prevailing sentiment right now particularly with the amount of games the bassey has.

"You guys brought in this bit from chaos dot com which is Abc channel five in minneapolis says man arrested and charged following shooting. that injured two national guard members in minneapolis. I didn't bring up. This was my at least to me. It was breaking news. I didn't get a chance to look at the news all day. I covered this issue on my show. You know my show monday Where Maxine waters congresswoman from california. She you know who who notably people might recognize your voice from a soundbite where she's telling like a crowd of protesters to Get up in people's faces and you know crowded at restaurants also said that anyone who entered the capital on december sixth. Vs january six riot was a terrorist. So she was in she. She was in minne- minneapolis. We didn't a bunch of politicians enter the capital. No i'm talking about that. Was afterwards those criminals and so so she's saying that all these people who just you know went into our domestic terrorists so she went to she went to She went to minnesota and she was giving an interview. Saying of protesters need to be more confrontational. Stop being hypocrites. And let's get to the bottom of this. People still have the right to protect themselves after serving their time but joe the law is not for them. It's for us. I think the solution where we could you know agree with. Blm is at cop should be like cops in in united kingdom uk. Knock any guns. Were they yell. Halt or l. Halt once again orbit were arrest people for having spoons and cutlery they do and so and and then people would say oh well what i like shooting or something. Then you know they keep the special you know. They have like a special firearms unit for mass shooting. Or something and i think you'd be able to cut down on a majority of these deaths. If you just disarmed a police right. We don't need gun control. We need police control. Yes law enforcement to fbi navy's agents. I would argue. We need abolishment of the organization of police as it is currently non. Well like what i was saying earlier is that they have written so many laws that were all criminals now. I'm sure there's a book out that it's like you. You at least three felonies. A day today and i haven't read it myself but i did have you know and and it's true like we're subjugated to all these different laws. And then they expect us to be good citizens. 'The Hate U Give author Angie Thomas on the importance of humanizing Black men
"Andrew. Thomas is a thrill to welcome you to washington post live. Thank you so much for having me. Listen we'll talk about the hate you give in in a moment. The movie is superb. We'll talk about why i think it's superb in a moment. But why did you decide to write about maverick carter. Who's the father of the main character in the hate you give in your new book. Concrete rose maverick. Is the character that i was asked about the most which you know kinda surprising since. We're talking about a young adult novel and in the hague if he was the father. You wouldn't think the father would get that much attention but my readers from the young kids at telling me that maverick is one of their favorite characters to the moms and the dads who were just in all him in inspired by him on. It was very apparent that there was a lot of love for this character but there were a lot of questions to and something that my readers wanted to know. How did he become the man and the father that we see in the hate you give when we know that he was once in a gang he wants sold drugs even once went to prison. And those aren't things you always line up with. Wonderful father filler community So it was. It was their questions that led me to decide. You know what. Maybe i should explore this character. His story to give a bit more perspective and understanding and show that. He's not so much a unicorn as people think he is. I have. I have a an a confession to make an admission. I didn't see. I didn't watch the hate you give even though is red. I saw all the reviews and people are raving about it. I didn't watch it until a couple of days ago. And i didn't because quite frankly suffering from ptsd. I could not take. I thought another movie where we would see something. Bad happened to somebody black watching it a couple of days ago to your point. Maverick was just this character. That i just drew. I was just drawn to him primarily. Because i'm looking at a person. Even though he's in a gang he was in a gang. He went to prison even though he did. All these things that i personally couldn't relate to but the man was someone i recognize and is that part of what people were reacting to. In in maverick in the hate you give absolutely absolutely. I have to say the movie played a role as well in me writing this book. Russell hornsby's portrayal of maverick was phenomenal. it was truly a gift and i was able to have conversations with him once set about the character that made me dig deeper into maverick. Who he was and what led him to be who he was so The character has as has gotten his big fan base. And i think it is because there's something about the quality of the man that really draws people in and his the fact that he did do all of these things that there are a lot of people who can't connect with that they can't connect with you know going to prison or being in a gang but they can't connect with wanting to protect your family. They can connect with wanting to improve your community An empowering your children. So i hope it goes to show people that There are some aspects of all of us that we can connect with once we get to know each other as opposed to making quick judgments and another confession. I was tearing up in many places primarily because of maverick that opening scene talking to his kids but especially the scene after the run in at the at the restaurant in the parking lot with the police he lines them up in the in the in the front yard so powerful and i bring that up. Because there's another thing about maverick and about your book and the movie and also i was thinking about the last black man san francisco a movie from twenty nineteen. You're about humanizing black characters in the emotion that maverick brings to just to the story and the fact that you allow him to be to be an a moat and emotional person but also a a complex person talk about. How about how you wanted in this way to humanize black masculinity. That was so important for me to do when i set out to write the hate. You give with maverick. Just as a minor character it was important for me to show this complex man This complex father who is not only active in his children's lives but he shows a full range of emotions And now with writing historian concrete rose in so important for me to show a black boy who shows a full range of emotions. There's this idea that black men black boys don't cry and society has made them feel as if they can't cry. I'm black boys would tell you all the time. I'm not week be week. I can't cry cry yes you can. It's it's a part of the white supremacy of this society to make black men and black boys fellas. If showing emotion makes them week when in turn it also be humanizes it makes them seem like they are emotionally roots. Who you know it's okay. It's justified to to hunt them down and kill them. If you don't see somebody as human it takes away that value on their life and you will find reasons to justify why it's okay that they lose their life so it's all a part of that is all a part of that ecosystem and for me as an author a specifically as someone who has dedicated ourselves to show him black children mirrors that are authentic that empowered them is so important for me to show black boys. This tough hard black boy who also cries who's also vulnerable who's also sensitive so that it will normalize them but also so it will normalize it for others as well. I'm in this world that they step into

Miami Dolphins Draft 2020 – Beefing Up The Defensive Line
"The dolphins coming in with Pick number five. They have a lot of needs to. What are they going to do with that quarterback position? You know what they do. They desperately need a quarter of quarterback. There there's no doubt they they do have. I don't know if this makes you feel any better about their situation. They have Josh Rosen. They have Ryan Fitzpatrick. Are Those guys? You're going to build around probably not. I'm hearing that there's any from Justin. Herbert to to attack overall is going to be there. I think the dolphins are going to surprise a lot of people. They're going to get the unsexy pick here. And they're going to take an offensive lineman out of the first round as well. I wouldn't be that shocked overall. I I could see this team doing it but I keep going back and forth to be quite honest with you of what this what they might do because that quarter quarterback is so important obviously for your franchise as you build but the bottom line is the dolphins have a lot of needs. You know they want to take a quarter. But you know you're hearing you're hearing all this thing about the Wunderlich score you're hearing about the you know. Obviously the injury is there. They have three first rounders. So could they wait a late around and see? What happens to some of these quarterbacks down there or do they just flat out go with a guy that could be more of a sure thing for them at the end? I like Andrew Thomas. The offensive tackle. I think they're gonNA go with the Linemen and the Miami Dolphins fans are GonNa be very upset but this is based on everything that I continue to read. They have sent sent up a lot of smokescreens but I could see them going with an offensive Lineman to say listen. We're we're going to be an interesting spot here either way we go. Some Oklahoma teachers find the grass really is greener in Texas
"Oil natural gas production in comparison texas neighboring texas which pays its teachers a starting salary eighteen thousand more taxes oil natural gas and effective rate of eight percent so what we're seeing here is that teachers are demanding a lot more in terms of funding already the state has passed a six thousand dollar pay raise for teachers but teachers are saying it's about a lot more than a pay raise it's about funding classrooms it's about having textbooks i've talked and interviewed so many teachers that are telling me that they can't even get proper supplies or text books they can't assign homework because they can't risk losing a two hundred dollar textbook and they tell me that their students know that the state's not investing in education and this is how the time that oklahoma is booming you go to downtown oklahoma city go to downtown tulsa and the place is booming with oil money so it's a question of taxation and it's a question of rolling back and we're seeing teachers make very bold standing almost every teacher i talked to emphasize that this is a strike not about raises but about making sure they get more money for the classroom and it looks like go on for at least a week or two the superintendent in tulsa where i'm at just announced that she would close schools for an entire week and she's appearing later today that the superintendent of tulsa at a rally to kick off one hundred and twenty three mile march from tulsa oklahoma city that's expected to take a week so this strike here will go on for awhile and it looks like the strike in kentucky will go on for some time to and it's going to be incredible to see what kind of ripple effect this ass so let's go to andrew thomas andrea thomas who is in oklahoma city your teacher you've been a teacher for almost two decades you and your husband in the oklahoma schools talk about why you're striking and what you're demanding.
