"And they rank him they assigned him twenty point, six value and Clark Schmidt has an eighteen point seven value. So they're pretty close. So I figured if the Yankees were to throw in another mid level prospect in the ten to twenty range in the organization that could get the deal done. Why would the rangers do this because they the rangers suck they're not going to compete next year landslides. Contract has one more year on it was pretty affordable they're going to get. A Clark there any at Clark Schmidt a high end pitching prospect. They can hopefully build around in the future of our guy who they basically. Are. Just GonNa lose anyway at some point next year. Yeah I mean we said that about a couple of guys that they have their stubborn and they decide not to do things and look what happened this year with Mike Minor, they ended up having to Trade Mike Minor to Oakland for nothing when if they traded him this season prior they could have gotten a prospect also had a bad year. He did not have a good year compared to when he they would have been selling at the top. So they needed young trade now on land not trade in three months from now 'cause what if he has a bad year I don't think he will because I'm training for them. So that means I'm not signing pacts and I'm not signing Tanaka and I am buying up Brett Gardner. So those three guys are gone. All right. Okay. I like I like Allegra headset I. Think you're doing some interesting things here are. We're not that we're not that off but little off a couple of things Would you WanNa do yours now or do you want to talk about? I before I tell you market, but it's also going to give away that some of the stuff that I do I assume so So as my Brantley here's why I was going back and forth on what do I WANNA do with left field do I wanna just give it to Clint Frazier and pick up Brett Gardner's option in Saybrook Gardner you're the four th outfielder clip frazier the starting job is yours. Let me go. Let me go before you do this because ours are very close and I feel like we're gonNA overlap too much. So. Yeah. Let me do this I. Okay. I am also signing DJ Lemay. Hugh. Shocking, shocking at this is happening here I gave him twenty million dollars a year. A gave him a four years. Real simple twenty, million dollars over four years four dollars. If you want another twenty million dollars, I would give him if he wanted another twenty million dollars after that I would give it to him. So those however many years he wants twenty million dollars I'll give it to him. That's how it's GonNa work. I. Will Give Him I mean I'll be Baena contract. So our contracts are pretty similar for Lemay Yeah. We've talked about this before so I had a feeling GM or not going far off to be honest I have a pretty drastic difference. Okay so Spoiler Alert I'm leading Tanaka Walk Spoiler Alert Landing Jayhawk Spoiler Alert I'm like. Oh No. GonNa come letting. James Paxton Walk. And I'm also buying out Brett. Gardner I the reason I'm buying up right gardener. What you were going to go into is I. I don't think that Clint Frazier fully gets that job. If Brandon's there, I feel like there's. A little bit of playing to to the A little bit of a nod to understanding the type of player that frazier is both on the field The I think he's should be rewarded for his commitment and improvement and I think that having gone finalists Clint Frazier, we didn't mention. On believe I saw that I was like you're joking. I mean, you can shit all over the Gold Glove Award. You can call it a phony award, but it doesn't matter if you're acknowledged in that conversation like that's crazy. The fact that he's even acknowledging that conversely I don't even care if he wins it, he's turnaround turnaround. Yeah. That's unbelievable. Even some of those diving show them like humans drop f all over ran apple but no good for him man for real I joke around a little bit. But one, I think the criticism was warranted for him from everybody who was giving it in to he worked his ass off, shut the F. Up and just did his job and got better. How you? Could have drawn up a perfect season for Brett. Gardner. It's excuse me for Clint Frazier. It's be more consistent at the plate. Show that power that you're capable of and play better defense and he did all of those three to an even more more higher degree than I thought he was GonNa do. So. All right let me keep going then. So I am I'm walking away from a bunch of people I'm making I. got to trades in the in the kicker I'm trading at amount of you know to Saint Louis. For prospects in cash, I don't care what the prospects are. Cash just a little bit because i. feel like we're going to eat a little bit of their. So Oh so you're kicking in some cash we're GONNA kick in some cash we're GONNA get. Bill he's. So what are you gonNA throw in three million I think he's GonNa, make seven million over there. I think it's a bargain for them. National League global more. At home where he's had success in Colorado He's fine. He sure he can do just fine. Not a great fit here too many longest. No prospect in mind doesn't do you don't care I'm going to replenish. Edition addition by subtraction move I think. So yes because I think there are arms that are coming that are going to be around in the that have potential in the bullpen and are much more I. Feel like we've seen his ceiling and it and short-lived, and I just can't handle the walks anymore. So just narrow. Him To go there I I was entertaining trading him to, and then I just thought if I were another team why the hell would I trade for him? You have to make it appealing and that's why I threw in a little bit of cash. So when you're looking at about of you know as another option in your bullpen at seven million like okay there's a relationship there. There's trades that have happened. I feel like that's a deal that could happen Really. More upside for the other team honestly The next trade that I am making I didn't check the The value website that you went through. So I'm curious to see where this adds up. By women and do it right now one outlets yeah. So I also trade for Lance Lynn. Because you only had one year on his contract and because the Texas Rangers are stupid and they wait too long, I don't think they're going to get a top prospect like Clark Schmidt to be honest I think that there's a market value out there especially going into this weird year that. They're going to get less than they were then they would have if if twenty twenty was a normal year and either they traded him at the deadline or the trade them in the off season if Kobe didn't happen I think it. G- plays against them and also their history shows. They just don't make good trade. So I'm sending them Miguel and do our..

I just think it's really important that those those particularly on television we see Flawed people was full the people and what we expect from our romantic heroes as they sh- fleabag. It's really floor. Heroin we know is that her name. She doesn't have a name. Well the only person who has a name in the show is Claire's so yeah my character priest Godmother. Edged Martin has an Clarin Martin Morton Morton Yeah Martin Yeah Yeah you're right. Yeah that's so weird and I don't think that's like I don't think it's necessarily Those I thought I think it's like she doesn't shine a light on it like this character doesn't have it no absolutely absolutely after three episodes I don't she's an. "He came in a box. It's like I want to say about boxes. He was really annoying. The guy is she got rid of him. So that's good and there was chasing. Who's absolutely beautiful and I'll miss him to smooching these guys pretty early on and immediately but no sacks that that we acknowledge ABC wouldn't want their Bachelorette to seemed on virginal? I'm assuming I guess yeah. I guess. Although you know what's the only talk of virginity has come from last season's bachelor. Who was Colton? Who is famously virgin in May or may not be anymore? He stopped talking about it. They brought it up one hundred three times. Every single episode has a gay porn name cold. That's just the way the world's going now that's true. That's that's the way people are naming their kids. Connor chasing yeah. It's rough so yeah. I'm curious her. What else has been another thing? You need to talk me. So there our two semi finals of sixteen countries and then from each of those I believe ten songs in ten countries will be chosen and move onto the final. which is Saturday starts at around noon? It's live it doesn't seem to be streaming anywhere in the US because logo lost the deal and nobody nobody went for it and it still Geo oh blocked the US. So I am watching a pirated Swedish livestream. Wow so it's it's in Tel Aviv. I saw a few from the first semi final so far. armie favorite is the Czech Republic. They're a young band called Lake Malawi. have kind of one thousand nine hundred eighty eight styling. You know they're like a young Jonas Ernest brother's the kind of a situation but like dressed a little like the boys and swing out sister. Few remember I shared well when you see it. You're painting a picture sure I enjoyed them and the rest of it is just insanity. Dana has oh great visual there. Yeah Yeah it's like their little made dwell catalog. Yeah there. It's so it is. It is eight four festival of ridiculous pop songs with one. Like there'll be like somebody will throw you a curve and do a hard rock song every now and then Finland will just have some like crazy death metal in it but basically it's just like really flashy pop music and and the lyrics are in English and English is almost never the first language of the lyricist so it doesn't make any sense at all but it's absolutely outstanding ending to watch. This year is in Tel Aviv. So the hosts English will be better. Okay usually like you know. A couple of years. Ago Is an Azerbaijan often. It's in Sweden because Sweden often wins. And it's and people just put the emphasis on the wrong words and it's just absolutely it's delightful. Why isn't it supposed to start airing in the US? Or did I well. It did did it for a few years on logo did for. I think three years on low but I mean. Is this supposed to be coming back. No nobody has any plans to pick it up so yeah. I will always love Madonna as a as an artist artist and everything that she has given us historically. But I don't I I I need to push back a little bit on this thing. That happens where we're not allowed allowed to speak ill where we have to pretend that everything. She does brilliant which happens in our circles. I think especially yeah brilliant really. It's not what I like it. I like it. Go ahead this space for Matt. That's all I have to say really. I already regretted and I'm going to ask for bowling doing this. All come after for fear of bullying. Look maybe maybe we're on the verge of booking her as a guest and we're going to hear this because she listens is every week and then she's going to change your mind doesn't you don't think I don't think I don't think but I think she can take I think she can take a mild rebuke from co host. If I can just as much as the review is going to be nine joy I do think Starting it with a snippet of Emma Gonzales speeches a little mercenary but I think think the song is fine although if you ask me to sing any of it right now I couldn't one two cha no I'm talking to the IRS. Ask You guys see what Richard Man did in debt yeah bill t rex out of Lego instagram could for him huge flex. You know I'd like to nominate Emilia Clarke while around the gas are- if Valentino I I'd love to know about. I assume it's tape. That's involved in this attraction but she's wearing confidence. She looks great. I was so ready to root against I'm sorry I did but she made it a little bit more difficult than I had plans. At least you followed through my Rudolph and Michelle Williams both in floral patterns both looking great really really enjoyed that more Michelle Williams in a few minutes. I liked Natasha. Leones look also should we talk about Natasha. Leone clapping. Yeah you're cool. Kidman Adman clapping apparently it is interesting way of clapping. It is like she just learnt how a small child when you teach them how to do applies their hands together but she was consistent in it. She applauded for a lot of people which we appreciate. I really liked it. She was wearing glasses during the show. I just love glasses formal. Look look at the Oscars Golden Globes and EMMYS. It's very common and I think it's a great I would do it. Billy Puerto Ricans and also the formal yes. It's a great addition. It's fake furnished. We're on the same the same people to do it because like young always does it. Oprah as a love the former bosses Amanda. I'm happy to tell you that the Tasha Leo Gift of her clapping readily available for whenever you need that's great people are ready. I think that makes sense. I'm just going to try to do it in my own life. One more nomination. Naomi watts she looks phenomenal and black just logged in just great the new game of thrones star new game. It's just getting ready. I I liked we'll talk a lot more reckoning with routes but I like to the end of the show how David any off who is my one true love can be like and now it's over we did it and now it is over totally disavowing try to shut out any notions of the prequels and spin offs that are that are coming alright great injection positively positively we'll ride this enthusiasm into talking about the most awkward moment of evening which was allow a complicated one which was when. Phoebe Waller Bridge won on Best Actress in a comedy beating out Julia Louis Dreyfuss in her final season as Lena Meyer from beep and bridges incredibly happy. Kate was incredibly happy. Many people on the Internet were incredibly happy. Let's get this out of the way. This is a pro fleabag podcast. You're lovely about free. It's one of the best things that that I've seen in any medium in two thousand and nineteen. Maybe in the decade yet great up there yeah fix perfect episodes a season two. Yes at flawless sure but Julia Louis Dreyfus purpose is probably the best television actress of in history. Yeah I think she's like Lucille Ball and Carol channing. Yes and she had one for veep. I believe every season she had been nominated and she was going to break the record for the most emmy wins by a woman of of all time and she she is there's also a breast cancer survivor yeah and that happened between these seasons so I think we all assumed that this would be her emmy and and it was not and that's the way the cookie crumbles moreover everyone in the room assuming yes so it was like the most tepid response. It's a win from a show that is universally praised yes. I'm sure that no one's like fleabag doesn't deserve it deserve. It really sucks sucks. That's how the point just was such an incredibly awkward moment. Totally I think okay like root for history. It's like when you walk or it's and you want to see a record broken or you. You want like someone's got hot. Hand you want to leave him in the game but as long as possible like it's okay to root for history it's okay to experience that moment and it was just really awkward. Yeah and it's also a fever waller. Bridge did not really read the room in that moment. I was wondering I guess veep is maybe not a big deal in the UK. They don't care about it. They're like we have in the loop. We don't actually need the American version of IANUCCI stuff but she was like thanking her agent and I just it wasn't the note that you wanted at that. Moment also weird for her to be profusely thanking or agent given the feud between writers and agents right now. Yes weird moment. It was not mentioned once during the entire telecast now's house per day and there was a lot of ignoring everything going on TV. No one was talking about streaming services. Everyone was just you know thinking whatever likes Amazon that that helped them. A lot of Amazon wants by the way but yeah it just it. It was uncomfortable. Even though it was happy yeah it's like not undeserved served right with the moment felt wrong and it. Kinda sucks then for our bread shoes. True talent is actually Frank Kayla. I will say like she seems super for actress to me in that moment in a way. I don't like to acknowledge and I just like Oh. This is a real actress but she also had just been up there like I think it would have been different if she hadn't won anything yet yet right right right so she had just been up there. She's up there again. It's like Oh you again like everyone loves her but like it is. It would have been different than if it had just been the first win for few celebrity yeah so it's tough. It's a no win a little bit she continued to she did continue to win now. She did and it was awesome. That fleabag won best comedy. US totally detailing curling. Everyone say their favorite episode man you go first the last one I mean come on the answer here. I soon as you said that to me. I I also kind of don't think of them as discreet right so it's entirely it was just one you could put those together and it would be like one very long movie and it would be kind of perfect shorter then some worth celebrating movies kate the first episode the pilot was the second season yeah great one of the Jumpsuit Yeah Mine's the number three's Kristin Scott Thomas See Russia Kristin Scott Thurow's Jonzon hot priest socially tough but you got yeah Kristin Scott Thomas. Oh yeah that's a trade. That's funeral so many other version of one yeah one we don't talk about the new one in the really funny thing about season into fleabag is just like everyone acknowledges now including TV while our bridge how essential Andrew Scott as you play the AK Moriarty too many of us who watched Sir Lock. Yeah weird very greatest in yeah. It was really cool and she when she turned to him accepting best comedy. It was like we did this because Andrew. You're Scott came in and that was cool. It was great and also you finally got to be on stage which was good so a motive. Actually I just want to say I love back. I don't need any more Brett Gelman twenty twenty between fleabag and stranger things. Yeah Ozone Lot shred amount of everything done. We're done offense. I guess it's it's really inherently offensive thing okay moving on so that was like a low and then and then I within a low below the recovered itself yeah. Just I mean it is remarkable. It's saying that is a special as fleabag actually won the emmys. We don't see actually the best. Things don't usually win awards. That's literally every awards show and fleabag winning and phoebe Waller winning for writing. It's just like wow we did it. That's great yeah so that was good good job on this one thing good Johnson. Okay Okay Hi Michelle Williams speech amazing stuff amazing stuff. This is also what happens when you practice and you prepare and she had clearly given some thought to what she wanted to say and not. Maybe she wrote it. I'm not really sure because it was definitely well-crafted and she hit her points but it was more that she had an idea and she wanted to turn this into It's a speech about equal pay which is like something. She's been crosshairs about a lot. If you remember when they did the re-shoots for I guess it was called all the money in the world it was the Getty Nassar Getty show out of it so Kevin Spacey's the Laura for Christopher plummer and they did the re shoots her fi versus Mark Wahlberg fee. Yes she took like a daily fee and Mark Wahlberg at one point five million dollars and then it became a thanks so she I used that in order to talk about a Fosse verdant. FX And the support and what happens when you actually do support of working specifically women have car work. She just like she had the stats. That's she nailed it.

"Light. Sometimes I wish my apartment had more light, but this is too much like you don't love the idea that his ex boyfriend sued him for like the giant lamp in their apartment. Like, what are the pieces of weird as furniture that his ex boyfriend wanted from him like, is it this like furry rug? That makes no sense. Or is it like one of these like swivel chairs bright yellow? Or is it this piece of maybe artwork? That looks like a glass glass, is that this glass work, you know, the when you're in college, and you get the poster of Marilyn Monroe or something, and it's like the Maryland photos that everyone has it looks like that person got too much money in grew up. And they kept the same Marilyn Monroe posters, design aesthetic in their apartment and Audrey Hepburn thing. Yeah. It's the same aesthetic. Let's play a quick game of who them because we didn't play last week as in my. Or as them. All right. He talks one two three really Michael c hall them really. I mean maybe not. I don't know. Okay, fine. Would you say has biggest role as dex from Dexter apart from Dexter, Dexter sixty under? He was the villain in game night, which is kind of fun and locate, maybe you're right, I guess he's kind of like character actor of Dexter. Dexter was like a huge, huge show, but people loved X, or maybe they just call him Dexter. Hi, who weekly Runtime longtime might just a Christian Johnson tweets. But she's a see this actress, and many wonder if she's a who or them is, she just like a nineties them? And a now who anyway, let us know crunch crunch one two three who but character actress who drugged, I guess who like conduct we love her. New York is over who New York is over. I'm so bored. I could Michael Barbaro for that one, two three who get out of here know who hosted the daily who get outta here. I don't need like you only know who he is a lot of people listen to the daily. Maybe a lot of people know who he is. A of them daily. But that's why I hesitated. He's definitely a podcast them. He's no IRA glass. He'll they radio. Them's are like IRA glass, and like Terry gross like Howard and no. Like Joe Rogan. I got. No. He's not. Unlike who are the, you know, might be them people love him. I mean, they're so allusive to like in there, so mysterious that I feel like they're alert really just adds like makes her them done like stick. Everyone is obsessed with them. You know, for every they're always wanted to be obsessed with them. And they've given like two interviews post being ten years old like total. You know, that's so rare. They're still extremely successful. Their names are still. You know, they like wanted to be in fashion, and they got in fashion on your extremely extremely successful in fashion. Okay. "They have the sudden influx of cash, and it's like we want to buy a house, which is cool great. But it's like on a surface level. You're like this is great because optimistic this is hopeful. We love stories about lottery winners, but every story about a lottery winner ends in tragedy. You haven't you ever read like USA today at haven't you seen? The didn't you see the canceled show like lottery number six, or whatever where it was all about lottery winners like being miserable. A half of every story in USA today is like so-and-so lottery winner is now dead. Broke than like all their family is fighting over the money. It's like this is such a nightmare. But what makes this show kind of interesting is that they're not fully buying like they may have won a million dollars, but they're still just buying, like there's no on your will house buying a house as expensive. It's, it's really hard for most people in this country to buy a house. So it's like, yeah, they won a million dollars, but after taxes, that's less. And they're only buying like a two hundred thousand dollars because it's like you think this show is going to be these people buying these lavish houses, but it's actually normal people buying normal houses, which is because this guy is so far from normal every once in a. Once in a while they do like a full on mansion because they make a lot of people who want a ton of money. But for the most part, it's like kinda normally houses, so it's funny that you call about this because Bobby number literally in a hotel room in Nashville, we'll turn because they saw story. Oh, they did. Yeah. They were talking about that guy. Well, we were watching the show and I was just like, who is this guy were like reman? I was like, is he gay, and you're like oh, and we were like in our beds, like googling around like trying to figure it out. And the only source that had anything about it was this website called south Florida, gay news com. Florida will every every website, that's like, you know, the, the, the computer, the computer website, that algorithm website that some written by bots was like, in two thousand whatever Brahms stat came out to south Florida gay news dot com. Every website was referencing south Florida gay news dot com. And finally, we go to it and it's interview he came out like a forever ago too. He was always openly gay. But he didn't actually say it to a publication. Until south Florida, gay news, interviewed him. But that doesn't mean he came out to them. It just means. No one cared. No one was talking to this guy until south Florida. Gay news was like hometown hero. David Brahms debt, are you gay. And he was like, yeah. I'm gay have a boyfriend that is what is cited by literally every website about this. Dude key is the most unbelievable specific type of guy he is gay. He's covered in tattoos and they're all Disney like I it's, it's an unbelievable type of person to me. People call me a star. I think it's weird. I go just a person with a cool job. I'm here to rescue, you guys. Design star was a great way to get ready for your own show. This is how I was discovered. And if this show didn't happen, then I don't know where I'd being. So he won designed stars designed star, which doesn't exist anymore. But use it was eight I winner of design star HDTV's like competition to find the next like host or whatever. Now they have enough host or like enough. We got Linda doing rehab over in Chicago. I you know, Mussa social do one hundred shows it's fine. They don't need anymore. David Brahms dad's, but he won. He hosted a show called colors, which I think, still might be on, and now he hosts my great big lottery, family vacation, whatever it's called my lottery dream home. And the other reason you would know he was gay was because the only time he's ever been called ride the tabloids..

"They're very proud of it which I kind of find a lot of fun to all of it. It's like owning it works for their brand. It's also, you know, when you own it, then you get to promote it. And when you promote it, you get to educate, or in your mind, you're educating about it, and then you get a platform, and it gives you a automatic platform as opposed to. To an also when you promote it, you get you get a discount. Well, you get a free and you might even get a for all their YouTube videos now are like us getting cool sculpting us getting fins face. Slimming, or whatever us getting fillers on our jaw. Oh my God. Imagine making two new friends and then the two new friends like. I like I love you. You're such a good friend, and then slow you start realizing they have been getting surgery to look, more like you, like, there's, that's what's actually happening. Well, I mean to be fair. There's a lot of women who get surgery to look like Kim Kardashian. So the fact that two women that she knows are doing. It is not grazing. No, I know. But what if it were you, it's still like we're conditioned to it because everyone's trying to look like Kim Kardashian now but the real parallel is just someone doing it to you? I make a friend and then, like the next time I see them like there is a little different than they have like my because I have these very sad is than suddenly my friend has like sad is. And I'm like, that's a weird then like they have my nose and I'm like that's weird. And the next thing you know, they look just like me and then they have a show on e and I'm like, what just happened? Whereas my show. Where's my show, very single white female for the new generation? Oh my God. Let's pitch it. Pitch. They bought it. Well, they bought it. I love it. Mehan greece. Explain me in Greece. Now I can explain me in Greece. The worst thing I've ever seen in my whole life. We were driving through Nashville, a fake Parthenon in Nashville. Yeah. There is though, if you don't know there is everyone, there's a fake Parthenon, nationalist, almost to scale, it's like close. It's not quite the size of the OG Parthenon, but it's close like you get there. And you're like, whoa, this big. It's a fully a fully functioning building that happens to look like the Parthenon, but it's on the Vanderbilt campus, is that where it was Vanderbilt campus or other college, I think Vanderbilt point is they built it for one of those worlds vary type things. And they were like we're gonna take it down afterwards, and then everyone was like, no, we like it. Keep it up. Which is what always happens with, like world's fair stuff. But it's only going to be temporary. And everyone's like we love it. Keep it. So they did it. It's there. You can visit it, we are driving by the Parthenon. There was a parking lot for the Parthenon Parthenon parking lot, said, Parthenon parking only, and I read that allowed to myself, Parthenon parking only, and I said me and Greece. Just to myself, not really thinking anyone hurt and Lindsey heard me sitting I was. I was kind of under my breath, laughing at myself. It doesn't make any sense. It's fully like my brain Hasbro, no, you, you were just like you were just saying it was like almost as weird like it was like leftover debris from what your brain was doing, like your brain had all these memes in it. And like you just thought of this Iraq Parthenon, like, like in Greece. And so you saw the sign and in your mind, you, you mix the mean just said, I mean green Greece, and I was like parking only me and Greece and likely lost her mind. And then basically for the rest of the week, we were there. Everything was me in Greece. It doesn't make any sense to say that. And you're like I guess, but also, no. It was just so funny. It just felt like it was it was. It was a broken. It was an internet brain, all broken broken loose wire, and your brain like fully just desperate to make a mean. And it didn't it didn't work. It's fine grand, please..

"How you weekly just to call, and who's relatively in live on me? Yeah. Anything? Are they apparently different that the Christians, that's only know? All right. Probably fundamental son. I had never heard of this until Lindsay started talking about them because of our friend Kay trees, as peace in vice that kind of explains what's going on with net live. I truly had never heard of them either. I just saw the I saw the commercial for their show and was like, who is who are these women, the moment you open up, this can of worms? You're like the, the worms just sort of like lazily start covering your whole body. It's not even like they spring out. They just start. Now, rounding you. Hi, it's weird to me, the worms, and they're in all your stuff, and it's like high watch e where the worms that's not in live, and it's such a nightmare these worms. They come out of the can that you open end. They're like, slowly wriggling, but you Rottweiler arriving rid of them will know you because they're everywhere. And it's like, oh my God. I keep putting these worms because you keep remembering that and lip casino like a can of worms like when you open it. They were pull splaying. I know I know this isn't that they're not spring loaded worms, their life, slow, they're like, kind of date their like day drunk were just got done Tanu your cabinet to get some lake cereal in there like the worms or like. And they're with their cousins or their brothers and their cousins are family. Watch it on E Sundays at ten. I don't really think of them as my cousins are, like siblings. Like we have different last names, that we're all one big. It's very unhealthy. They were wags dwags, or they were wags adjacent. They were wags cast members, but they weren't actually wives or girlfriends, wag wives and girlfriends of sports players. Why girlfriends of sports plays at that? What works means? Yes. But it's just so funny. That doesn't it stands for wives and girlfriends sports. But the thing about, but the thing about these two is that they started on wags, but they were not wives or girlfriends. They were just friends. They were like wag friends. They were wag adjacent and they became more popular on wags because they were good an invade were, and they were like part of it. And they're navien. Yes, Kate called them. They're accidental antagonists. She says, in part because of how clear it was. They did not particularly prescribe to the archaic rules of the university of been plugged into. I'm going to quote her once again, in an interview she said, this whole like wag thing, and they're being a hierarchy with whole system thing. It just dot dot dot I'm not a big fan of it. So they were like they never fit in now they have their own show, their French the Kardashians. And it's like classic reality structure, where it's just a family. That's it. It's a family living their lives. That's all a rich family. Oh, it's wag stands for wives and girlfriends. That's what I just said, I thought you meant the s in wag stands for sports, but it's just the S on the end of girlfriends. So it's wise and girlfriends, and then of high profile sports persons of high profile sportsmen is implied. So you could say, like oak, basically, what wag does me west where you don't have to know whether it's the wife or girlfriend, which is honestly kind of rude. It just like makes you don't have to do a lot of work. The S should be lower case. It should be wag. It is it's, it's cash. Capital wag little girl little s little toy didn't know that little okay? Explain NAT and live to me. Linzie three I'm still reading about the word wag wag came to be also used somewhat redundantly deluxe edition wag girlfriend, although in such usage, girlfriend, or wife could be interpreted as further. Denote specification within the set of people fitting, both didn't Dino tation, and the connotation of wag reasonably non-footballing contests..

He's in a lot of stuff. I mean he I think he's like a him. He would be a character actor if he didn't have these two kind of goes. Yeah. And I didn't know he was gay. I really didn't know who he was happy pride bride. He's gone. But he would care that he was gay unless everybody was really everybody was very sexualizing him because of fleabag because he has a relationship with the fleabag. So when it matters. It was she the fleabag is the fleabag her her. Or is it like her house, or is it looks like she she's a bag? She is. Her name flea is her name like now is her name. Like of what is her name like a pun news at Lee? No. Okay. That was like Lee. And then any caller fleabag I don't know. Her name is Lee with talking about. I don't know her her. She's fleabag. But like people go her fully hatefully. Hatefully anything. No, no one really calls. Her anything does he have a name. No, it's fleabag. No. I'm never doesn't have a name. I'm never going to get you to watch the character name. Yes. It's fleabag. No. I mean a real name play. He's called the priest like nobody's called by any of their names. Oh, so she destroyed up doesn't have a name. Oh, her name is Phoebe Waller bridge, as fleabag a troubled young woman, living in London. Alevi. Culminates fleabag godmother. Well, you're you would love now in a relationship with fleabag father. Her name is just straight up fleabag. Yes. But they don't call her like. If is there some weird British thing, where it's actually pronounced like flag, you know, like class English name flooding. So he's also in this episode of black mirror that came out this week with the three that came out the one with, like Miley Cyrus that was terrible. And then there to others, which actually thought we're pretty good. He was in one of those, he plays, a like a lift driver, who goes, no k okay? So he is like, never gonna watch that thing. But I kind of feel like he's a prestige Irish actor. So I kind of feel like he's not going to really. I don't know if he's going to become what you guys want him to become, you know, like he's, he might take the route of Simon Pegg, or who's who played who is in Sherlock with Benedict Cumberbatch related his sidekick. What's his name your who? Who are you asking? What's his name, Martin Hobbs Freeman? Oh, Martin Freeman. So he's going to be Martin Freeman type hops. What's his name Watson Watt's, but you get what I'm saying? Martinez Watson and Sherlock. No one told me these things. I'm what am I going to have to describe to bucks? God, that's my future. Have to subscribe to Brit bucks. I'm telling you. I saw redux was a joke. The first time I saw it is Great great. box. You've never seen the commercial rip bucks. Now Brit bucks is the BBC app where you subscribe to rip offs for ten dollars a month..

But I just from it, and I just had a flash that he was, like, well, sure something, not that it matters Irish Irish. Okay. Okay. Yeah, I've seen this guy. That's the guy who's the priest yet. So I've seen him in something this guy's been around for ever. He's like a classically trained very professional stage, actor who became famous in England, but, like I think Sherlock is huge universally, maybe just not in America as much as elsewhere Sherlock is the show with Benedict Cumberbatch that was how he got into America. And the and that's like the thing that everybody is like, oh, well on Sherlock, he's that it's like that's Sherlock heads. No. And so he played the villain on you with love sure. Like I don't know why you haven't watched it. It's like exciting. Love sherlock. I'd probably love sure it's extremely short. It's like done in kind of, like special limited series, kind of, like, there's not that many episodes anyways. He played the villain, but he played this like very cheeky like funding by villain. Okay. And then he played the pot priest in fleabag season two, which, I also watched, which is really fantastic. And he plays this like hot priest and you should watch that it's, it's very fun. And I think people became obsessed with him because it was like a very sexy character post..

Dag dome, I would just change my name to like Taylor L dome. I'm like, oh, no. There's an l in there or something Douglas dealer. Douglas, I love that Bobby kitty Perry song, because it was pretty right then. So. Still the only Ed STAN in America. I I mean mean I I was was at. at. I had no idea that never really over. Was that song as I joint aren't thirty five writers in that song. One answer, there's only two producers but to be fair to you. You did not like her failed single with said which was the re sixty five. Oh, no. I attempt it was fine. It was fine. But I have you been listening to the or have you been looking on Twitter. That is that is sort of cancelled can't yesterday I well he got cancelled by Hilary Duff's. Husband by Hillary devs husband met, you coma of like you said, bull said took credit for lyrics he didn't. Right. And he went on a really long notes apparant. He okay people look, that's the, the Cliff's notes version, we don't need to get into it because honestly, it's maybe we'll do it next week though. Maybe we'll get into it next week whenever there's more because I, I don't really want to get into it until Zad gives a response, which he certainly will. But what really bugged me about Matthew. Komo's thing is that again, okay? You have to know how to apologize correctly use notes app. Number one, Matthew Koma. Did that or make a statement? He used notes app. Great. It took him four screen shots because there was so much notes up edit your note down to one notes app screen shot. Learn a one thing that I don't like though could be four but it's got to be in one tweet. He did four into tweets. Across to tweets we related eight screen shots. But then what really pissed me off is he didn't hide the keyboard? He's born board took it took about this. Nice Matthew Koma. You could have done this in one tweet, because you took up half of the case with a keyboard, in all eat screen shots realize you gotta hide the key part. Nozzle can't you make the techs smaller in notes app? Can you maybe you could make an all are on your phone on your bone techs smaller than you could fit more in your screen is what are these people thinking? I just like they're focusing on the message not on the aesthetic. But that's fine. My favorite thing about Matthew, komo's lacy rant about reading that he goes on is that the number one, the keyboard thing is especially annoying. When you look at this look at this. Twitter's automatic thumbnails use the bottom. So it's just keyboard. I saw it to my God. You're right. It just before, thumbnail, or look like part one. Keyboard keyboard keyboard, keyboard high. So. We need to talk about the hot priest. I just finished then Jane, those seasons one ants you asleep bag. And I hope you guys get flooded with calls about injury. Scott, the hot priest because he needs to be discussed XL you, if you've watched have not tell I don't think you've watched any of the things that this guy has been in. No, none of them. So you've never had much Liebeck. I'd never watched Sherlock. I never watch black boy, I've watched a couple of episodes of block mayor, but it really makes me upset. So I stopped watching black mirror C and you don't you've never seen him anything of else that's British because he's already guy, nor will he's I think he's British. Well, I'm now I'm thinking, like is he Irish either way? He's, he's in the British world of his Irish is the what's his name Moriarty at these gut. Okay. So no is the name of these. No. His name is Matthew. Oh, what's his name?.

"I was like a fucking mess at the at the Andrew Scott homily at the wedding. They get Mike and Mike crazy for saying that, like I was like that's like pretty a profound. And just that hold lasts episode. I was like Jesus Christ. How is this on television? I know for it to work on every level performance direction emotion Olivia Colman who just went an Oscar is just in the show just having fun in the background. Outrageous, the thing that, that, that I come back to a lot with the way that she writes performs is that there's, there's this vivacious sense of play to it. It. She's, she's winking and commenting, but really, she smiling, you know, it is not judgy. It is not snarky the smile that ends the season and the series so genuine and heartfelt, and I think about the way that the show takes a fourth wall, breaking device that could be an option that maybe some people bumped on you included in the first season and actually considers what it is embraces, it interrogates it makes it a plot point in a way, that is so shocking, and staggeringly. Honestly, it's just brilliant is it's inspiring that there are still a way to approach this medium in the storytelling in to communicate the most challenging things to communicate which are genuine emotion. Genuine affection between people genuine romance, genuine loss, all of those things that were chasing to do it in this package, which we should say, again, is six episodes of under thirty minutes. Each come watch it in a night, you can easily just watch it tonight or you can do what I did, which is try to stretch, it out and make it last for. Three weeks. Basically. Let me talk about that, which is, you know, we've talked about before it, eventually about how it's challenging to find co watches these days things that we can watch with our wives, that we watch together fleabag season one was one of those for, for me. And my wife, we eagerly anticipated this season two we watched the first two episodes, we're going to, to tonight. I think we watch the third the next night, and we were gonna take a break, I went to bed woke up around midnight, the lights were on what's going, and I fell back sleep again. And then the next day I was like real up late. Because I as I said, I don't trust people who stay up past. Children who come to wake them up at five thirty. And she was like, oh, yeah, I just I had some work to do. And I was like, okay great. No problem. We then watch deficit for episode five and six and it was only when I overheard her at a birthday party talking to someone about it. But I realized she was so in love with this show. She's the morning finishing it. Yeah. And then watch it again, with me. I cannot stress. How rare that is in let me take it one step further. Do you know what she did to prove her true devotion to the show? What she Google voice actors to learn more about them. Never done. Did she pretend like she hadn't watched it when you guys finished it? Yes. Wow. Sick the FOX. You know how she actually her her one error was when the inevitable happens between fleabag in the priest. I believe she credits ran. She turned to me. I believe she said, I did not think that was going to happen at all. That's the only I don't know if I've told the story on the podcast before, but the only other time that I know this has happened was that she couldn't wait to see there will be blood saw in the theater, and then went with me a few days later on a weekend. I think, and I, I remember two things about the movie one, I mean amazing movie too, I was just blindingly hung over when I went to see it and we're getting the movie, you know, it's quite a long movie. And I leaned over at one point, I was like I have to go to the restroom, and she grabbed my arm..

"It's also going to be very affordable rate. It's eight pounds. Or if you're a subscriber you can get in for fiver cannot say fair than that brilliant films. So look for those as I say, it's empire online dot com slash picture house. So get after it. Okay. We're going to give our voices arrest from it. Because it's time. I think for an interview break Andrew Scott for it. His he broke through into the mainstream consciousness as sherlock's fiendish Moriarty matching wits with Benedict Cumberbatch to deadly effect of late. He's been playing swear priest in this warious breeze. I would say since father Jack in fleabag and this week he's back on the big screen playing. The Americans colleague garbage man who starts investigating a missing person case in steel country. So we sent Chris along to find more delighted to be joined on the podcast by the star of steel country under Scott, how are you, sir? I'm Chris how're you doing? Ganassi badly about we were just having a little discussion beforehand about how you detected. A little hint of American in my accent tease. I don't know where you got that from. What about yourself over the years is your accent changed and waxed and waned? Do you know what I think is hasn't? Okay, conscious decision to hold onto. It's a really weird thing with sons, isn't it like? I. Who've lived in London for all your shrines lived in London. I'm they, you know, they just saw Speight light on your life. You're you. No. I think maybe because I change it so much maybe less than Easter Easter sort of want to change my accent, an awful lot in films and TV stage, but now kind of much more into if I can not changing accent. Yeah. I don't know. What that is. I think it's I think maybe when you're a young actor, you sort of think, okay? Let's it's far away from my self as possible. And that's what act is defined. It's hard to go back to yourself in a way, we changed your accent? Especially as a as as young actor defined that sometimes it's difficult to go back. And remember kind of who you are. And who your what your accent is thinking is sort of when you're younger, you you feel like the more effort, you're putting. Acting. You know, if I'm completely transformed. That's what acting is. You know, the older I get the more. I realize that's actually not what it is what it is exploring different as money different parts of yourself as you are on. I do kind of think that the Bashar. You know, you are the better, you know, yourself better yours actor I really do think that's true before. Because of course, there's a lot of completely lunatics who are actors and provides a certain gateway to a particular type of character. But I think if you want to kind of sweep the board of characters, I think the more you're sort of comfortable with yourself, and like I think as well, the better the actor usually the nicer they are on also sometimes success can be very good for actors. You know? Okay. You know, what I mean like some of the people who aren't difficult to work with? There are the ones that the real top of their game are always pretty fantastic to work with two. So whenever success visited you how did you? I've always been a nightmare. Just yet. Yeah. Remind water. That's it. Would you like a war distinctly remember saying room temperature? Below room temperature. I I'm I'm sorry about that. He did slut me around a little bit. Yeah. And an American accent. Gee whiz. And moving. But yeah, when you did become successful though. I imagined especially say, for example, post Sherlock. Yeah. I yeah. I flush of poacher look fame for you. Where people are stopping in the street. Yeah..

"Four fifteen thirty ish toll free, number speaking taking your phone calls. I'd like to ask you a question. There is a local story caught my attention. Roseville. Best buy over in Roseville. If you saw the story, then you probably know where I'm going with this. But. Here's a guy. That was his name is Tyler. Tyler. Who did a something that okay? Technically Tyler was not supposed to do because of. Comp corporate policy with best buy. So do to the company's corporate policy the best buy employees Tyler. So does he was fired after tackling a suspect? Who punched a deputy and then ran away outside. The roads will store, by the way side note suspect was wanted for a felony warrant in Evadne. Coordinator best buy our policy is clear employees are not chase potential criminals outside of the store chasing an individual in the parking lot creates a safety risk. That is not worth taking regardless of how noble and employs intention is not is there comment there. Tyler unaware that he'd be jobless after helping law enforcement catchy wanted suspect. It by the way, we had a couple of calls about technology. They could have they're gonna chime in that would have been fine, but they hung up. That's fine. Or the technology went out. I have a story on technology, by the way. Obsolete technology, but AM Tyler was unaware there'd be jobless after having law enforcement catches wanted suspect outside the world's best buy that. He was working at January eleventh. The suspect is a thirty five year old from Reno. Reno. Resident Timothy Trujillo was wanted for a felony warrant by Nevada. State officials. Plas county sheriff's department after detectors were informed to heal might be evading law enforcement in the Roseville area now special operations. Detectives with plastic county tractors do down. Tracked him to the best buy near Galleria boulevard attempted to make contact with him. Well, I know that store well over there too, by the way. I'm sure many of you do according to the county sheriff Lieutenant Andrew Scott. Who says that when dad, but he's approached? Trujillo punched one of them in the face and then fled on foot to escape. That's not that's not him that was music as enjoying that. Here's Andrew Scott our special operations. Detectives went out looking for him. They are experts in finding fugitives. They did locate him and when they confronted him in Roseville, he punched one of the detectives in the face and took off running. He took off running and the security guard from best buy just entered the scene and tackled. The man and was kept them from escaping which is very fortunate for us, and we right there, and we'll take them into custody at Tyler jumps into action. He's keeping his last name private. While we're at so after he tackles, the suspect deputies were able to subdued this dude trial. He'll put him in handcuffs. They say that we're very grateful again, Andrew Scott that Tyler intervened. Luckily, no, one was hurt that was our first and most pressing concern and something like this. He says. Because he intervened we were able to catch the man take him off the streets. We just learned today that that was unfortunately had occurred on what he's talking about here. This Andrew Scott again what he's talking about. Is that the guy was fired Tyler says he was let go from his job Friday January twentieth. Two weeks after tackling Trujillo because the best by zero tolerance of employee involvement with with attempting to stop theft and other legal illegal activities. And again that came to a surprise to the sheriff's department. We just learned today that that was unfortunately had occurred, obviously that's best buy store, and it's their corporate decision how they wanna handle situations like that. But we personally are grateful got involved in. And we're able to take this person off the street now, many retail companies prohibiting employers from interacting with potential crime suspects as a matter of safety for the employees. But Andrew Scott saying that the sheriff's office appreciates, the assists. It's definitely helped. You know, we may have caught him. But we may not have he was running and we were chasing him. But we didn't have to go very far because security guard tackle them, and we're able to quickly take them into custody, which is a good thing because the crime spree that he was on was halted at that point. And although the detectors are grateful for Tyler's quick thinking quick action. Lieutenant did stress. I was just preferred that citizens do not get involved law enforcement in law enforcement matters saying we don't want to see anyone get hurt or deputies are trained to deal with situations. Like this. Though Tyler did help put the the felon interstate fell behind bars he remains unemployed because of this incident now. Okay. So you have the sheriff's worm and saying listen, we don't really want people to get involved necessarily because we don't want anyone to get hurt. Then you have a store policy that says you can't you're not allowed to go chase after these bad guys because it's a safety risk. But my question to you is really. I get all of that. But he punched an officer and a face. And now he's running in front of the guy and the guy tackled him. I mean, I don't know. I mean, should this guy be fired for doing that for doing? What he did? Should he be fired? Or is that like, hey, man. That's a really cool thing. You did. Many. But. It's a good thing. You did. Had he not done anything. And the guy got away. Could you have been charged with obstruction? Good question. Good question. When you hear.
