"That were filled with the you know the scholars. and. New Testament scholarship and at the things. The subjects and you know as long as you get to. To. Sort of academic protocols you could ask anything. Discuss anything, and then as what one. Scholar Particular Steve. Davies I really liked his work the way that he approached things and. republish some of his books through the press and. But. Yeah, so when so okay, so as also I've always been fascinated by. The idea of sort of lost works you know like the Lost Gospels. Loss sayings of Jesus. You know these sayings attributed to Jesus on found in the New Testament and. Where they come from. How. How wailed. Represents Jesus might have said and how well the sayings in the New Testament represented Jesus said. So, so I got involved in the whole the. Paraphernalia of New Testament scholarship and then I came across the no six. INTERESTED NASA terrorism. Objective before the Internet kind of took over, you'd see references the stakes without really knowing much about who they were. Out of course I bought a copy of the county library in English add. The Gospel of Thomas. That's really very immediate to read it. You know it's of explicitly esoteric at it reads. Reads like an esoteric version of the kind of sayings, you guys in the Canonical Gospels and then the Gospel Fit. Fascinating extra on the so but a lot of the stuff. You know really hard Ah, look at this, and it seems so different so the new testaments long lists of our cons who ruled different parts of the body and these strange named. Abstracts entities who. The translation of these we had Greek names and neue protein oil. Or Yaldo, bosses barbarous lines. It's absolutely you know my experiences as mystifying. Fascinating those the demon. And all these different Again it's. An touching on what you said a little bit earlier, you know these sayings that weren't record. That are in the New Testament but again at the end of the day Andrew. WHO DECIDES WHO decides? What's canonical on? What's not canonical so again? The Church? So what? What's noncanonical? It's going to be discredited. Why because it's not in? The official you know text for them, and it's going to be discredited and again it just makes you in a way. Look at things in a bias form because when you're reading these texts. How much credibility can you give to them? You know and how much credibility do they deserve or or or you know what I mean it's. It's very A. Very interesting. Yes yeah you mean like sort of historical. That historical veracity as to. Who Jesus walls. That kind of thing, well, yeah, again, what fascinates me to like? The Church Says No, this is these are the gospels. These are the ones that matter you know. This is what Jesus said, and then you. Obviously, you have the other side of the coin. The Gospel of Judas which is also fascinates me which paints a completely different picture, but at the end of the day it's a nasty taxed so. You know what I mean. Can you even give it credibility because the Gospel of Judas flips everything on its head? Absolutely everything. So! At the end of that makes you look and go are these texts? Do they even matter? You know that's the way I see it so I. Do they matter? Do they knock but at the at the end of the day they're you know what I mean. Yeah, sure I'm in I mean you have to ask it? In what way does You know. Would they matter? I mean? I think the way to approach to Mr trying to work out what they're saying. And then see you know. Does that resonates with you Is it because you know in terms of Historical authenticity, the Gospels and the new testaments Bidwell demolished. Things being analyzed. Matthew and Luke. Basically two. New Versions of the gospel of Mark with. Added stuff And for enough, you're kind of mainstream. Christian it is very important. Infamous mainstream Christians that Jesus really did. Come down in the Flash, and really whilst the Son of God Radio Walls Crucified and. Read. It was a real resurrection But if you're not so wedded to these very neutral. Interpretations My approach has you can. Wearing different sets of clothes you can try. You can take the approach of the Gospel of Judas and see where that leads. You see what it's trying to teach you and then you can go. So the gospel of Philip which. Is quite different in many. Ways and You know when he was saying he was saying something about. You know that we have so much. Stuff out that thing and You know that's for real hallmark of our age. that we just inundated with information and have. More knowledge about You know all these different. Civilizations and cultures through throughout the ages than any. A station for humanity has had. That's technology. That's were approaching the. Fascinates me, I I also do a had an episode with. This guy who goes around ancient. Ancient. Megalithic structures around the world and he studied them and. It's crazy the amount of knowledge these. These people had at that time. And? It makes you wonder where they got it from because right now you know I can look your work can look anything up from my from a supercomputer in my pocket, my phone and I can find any information that I. Want at any point in time. How did they do it back? Then you know. How do they navigate? While they looked at the stars or holiday? No at the stars led him to lead them to where it was or. Even how some of the you know, the Mayans, they had such an extensive knowledge of the stars, and even the Egyptians and all these cultures, and it's like you said Yeah! We are in an age where we do have information available to us and more than you know more information. than any point in time. Yeah, that's that's correct. Yeah, and it said it in some ways I think. Many similarities between our time and Sort of a time of late antiquity so. The, Second set for centuries on onwards said. When the Roman Empire, Reached its peak, then to decline, and it'd already taken over the head of mystic empire is to being founded by. Alexander the Great and the generals that followed him and so. People at least in the you know the cities, the Greek and Roman cities. They have access to all sorts of different religions from different countries and different cultures so instead of just growing up with a local gods it. You know they had the Roman. Gods who Explicitly modeled after the. Greek Golz God's for. Asia even die nicest. Thought to. Come from Asia it even in Indian, gods things Atis and Siberia. The right mother, then you and the Egyptian. You know the whole Range of Egyptian culture. With the Alexandra. Spell. A Greek city and had this Masha. Greek culture gypsum culture. There's a huge. Jewish. Colony. And so it was very much meeting. Different Cultures with some of the same problems that we have now. How'd you? Absorb all that How'd you find meaning? When. You know the so just so much stuff sloshing around everywhere. And you, you can say that postmodernism. We got some very bad rap quite rightly. Emmanuel is better I find. You know has some many interesting aspects to it. You know that. The relativism and. You know the. Inability to state any particular form of culture is really superior to any of the. there's a.

"Again, that's very typical, not only relation of groups. In all spheres of human activity from. Politics religion to asa terrorism to. Chess Clubs. Our. Groups and. You, know the. The much movie likes Brian. I do not know Oh, that's really west. Watching it said about said. At the time of Jesus and There's a or we called Brian. who gets taken up as the Messiah quite said against his will and. But. There's a revolutionary groups at the time and The Judean, popular, fronts and an innocent somebody meets the Judean Popular You Jin Popular Fronts and says no that splitters where the Judean Popular People's Front. And so. So yeah, you can find A. diatribes within mastic writings against other NOSTITZ and. That's. One of the things that makes him interesting that there was a wide variety of beliefs and explanations in every. Gospel caustic writing has a different take on. The Bus Dick Myth and How you view the world how you should view scripture. How The human being is. Made, up. Body Soul Spirit, or is it just Did you have different kinds of so all that kind of stuff. The what part the interesting? Side Narcissism. It never. Well I I can actually get. On saying this is nick section some exceptions, but it never really became. A valid mainstream religion, so it never had to deal. With. Finding criticism. Yeah Yeah, I agree absolutely so we can work this in in my next question What got you into this type of research and this line research? Because obviously ESOTERICA. It's not for everybody. Me Even I was taught. I was having an episode. Yesterday. And it seems that these last. Four episodes that I've done have all been heretical and I'm I'm all heresy doubt and. I'm hoping to to take a little break after this from you know Harris and talk about different subjects has again it's it's a lot of information I'm taking in, and it's blowing my mind I actually did an episode yesterday with Alex Rivera. Which I'm sure you're familiar with and. We talked to bought a lot. A lot of things and I was like man. At the end of the day, my issue with it all is. You know what is what? Are. We can't all be right. And again I'm not saying I believe all of it. You know you have these people have conversation than I can respect different beliefs. You can tell me you believe something you can tell me. The Earth is flat, and all agree to disagree and I'll respect your beliefs for that, but I want attack you, but I've had. Conversations with people where? they want to attack me. They ask me Oh. You know what's your podcast on Bar I'm kind of hesitant, sometimes that because my podcast is in just about Essel Tirico, other subjects as well but obviously there's there's a there's an audience for everything. It's not going to resonate with everyone and I. Feel that when they come across these episodes, I'm putting out you know every now and again about the theology and Abou- heretical things. They're gonNA look at me differently, but at the same time you know it's, it's the information is there and if you don't learn your history? They. Say you know you're bound to repeat it and. It's very fascinating to me but back to the question. What got you into this type of research? And how did you start? And when did you start? Because I know you've put a lot of hours into this? Yeah well. Last at South. A got into into that through Go Jeff were which is a vast terraces? In the the. Severity trying to essentially. and there was a a writer and teacher called a Morris Nickel. Who was he was of? It's sort of a Scottish background, so to all intents and purposes kind of pushing man Who? Cover trying to think when his phone at probably end of the nineteenth century, I mean he was in the first World War and He was a pupil of young actually, and then he got involved with Jeff I've to spend ski who was Jeff's. Chief pupils. Rights NS TARA system own right as well and he. Wrote Two votes called the new man in the mark, which gave Esoteric Interpretations of the Gospels, and so I find this really fascinating and. You know have a Christian background, but it wasn't very intensive When I was about ten years old kind of refuse to get confirmed into the church at wiles. Go to this Baptist Church a little bit then. gave up with that as well so and the UK is a really secular place you know and. Most by. School friends? would be atheists. But I! I simply keen on churches, but still you know and. I could see that something bad bible. and. So so I was very interested in this territory station of the Gospels and then I. I can't imagine that okay. I could read two books. About the. Scholarship of the New Testament old about either in general or about. Historical Jesus Gotcha kind of handle on it. and. You know it's like a bottomless pits It's a wormhole it is. So and it was A. This was. The end of the nineties when the Internet was really taking over, and you have these amazing email discussion groups. That were filled with the you know the scholars. and. New Testament scholarship and at the things. The subjects.

"Is the Pony Express here's Andrew Phillip phonies yeah it's always challenging when you have significant turnover and I think it's yeah I would say it's like climbing amount you know in every time you climb the mountain the next year you start right at the bottom right with everyone else and you have a new group of people your new group of climbers you get different tools you can use and it won't start the same place and you just got a there's no way to do other than just start working your way up and that's what we're doing now it's you can't get to the top in two days it's going to take a long you know it's a long year to long grind and everyone's gonna the guys who are who make the team dirtbill burned they'll put us in a better position to be the best team could be so I don't know how that all shakes out you know it's competitive you know I'm compete every day the receivers are the line is you know it's it's competitive in the defense and we got a you know if we want to be the best thing would be we gotta compete as far as we can and see how that competition shakes out Tom Brady and NFL network as he embarks on season number twenty in the NFL's one hundredth year so he's been around for a fifth the football history Tom Brady the patriots quarterback looking to defend his title this year and he's gonna have to do it without rob Gronkowski and that's all we're going to start this conversation this hour on the Pony Express CBS sports radio comedy from the rocket mortgage by quicken loans studio rocket mortgage with you every step of the way to provide a seamless mortgage experience at eight five five two one two four C. B. S. that's eight five five two one two four two two seven I'm gonna cut right to the chase here and I don't know how many patriots fans we have in the audience I think the only people who would take this following comment the wrong way would be patriots fans even though it's not at all a disrespectful commentary or statement on the organization it's just a matter of right now who gets the credit for what the patriots are defending champs going into the season if you look at Las Vegas as the odds on favorite to repeat in when another Superbowl the twenty nineteen given the benefit of the doubt over and over and over again and at this point I'd give the lion share the majority of the credit to bill Belichick because I think if you had it in fear your coach if you had a coach who was a tear below bill Belichick and everybody in the league is at least a tier below ballot Jack if Pete Carroll is coaching last year's doing with patriots there's no way New England wins another championship they going to Kansas city and they lose they lose that game the chiefs are playing in the Superbowl set the patriots if you give.

McKenzie Milton, UCF Knights QB, suffers leg injury

"Regular season, two straight years. The Golden Knights have gone through the regular season unscathed. This year ranked eighth hypol- describing what was a costly victory McKenzie Milton the UCF quarterback who had twenty four straight games the touchdown pass. And was probably a fringe Heisman Trophy. Candidate was lost a severe knee injury in this game. He left his backup came in a redshirt freshman and the knights scored twenty eight points behind their backup quarterback. And I want to tackle a question that I've heard in regards to UCF tonight. I wanna try something on for size here. And I'm Andrew Phillip pony. In for ferrall on CBS sports radio comedy from the Quicken Loans. Studios national mortgage lender. Quicken Loans apply simply understand fully mortgage confidently. One of the ways that UCF gets disparaged by critics by college football fans in other places is this hypothetical question gets raised about them. Well, what would they do with Fe? Warren conference ex. Ceesay for UCF to get through the American athlete undefeated. They only have one win over a ranked opponent. They beat number twenty four pit at home forty five to fourteen. They played the seventy second. Best schedule in America. They only had eleven games because a trip to North Carolina was cancelled because of the hurricane. So they really are undeserving of the top ten rating, and they definitely don't deserve to be included in the national championship the college football playoff conversation. And I agree with that second point. There's not enough on their resume. To suggest or recommend that they play for college football playoff. Like all hell would have to break loose in the next two weeks for them to even get considered. But the idea that they're not a really good football team is blast semester. Me. I think it's ridiculous. And here's the comparison. I'll make to prove my point. What do you think would happen? If UCF was in the SEC. Now, I think most of you would want to jump in and say they probably be like a eight and four seven and five team. They would just be a middle of the pack team in the SEC. They wouldn't be the worst team. They wouldn't be a team that finished in the basement like Arkansas. They wouldn't be Vanderbilt. They wouldn't be ole miss. They'd be middle of the pack. And I hear a lot of. I hear a lot of national media kind of make those blanket statements that this seems to be what are these ongoing debates college game day was at UCF last week. And they brought it up like, hey, let's tip our cap the UCF, but let's be real about it if they were in a power five conference data have three or four losses by now. And I just don't think that's

The ball over like I said before every, time I tell you that I don't want to put up zeroes You know doesn't what other guys do is out of my control. I just have. To go out there and, do it I can do I know back to the pony express with Andrew Phillip pony as. Far as. I'm concerned that's the voice the best pitcher in baseball Jacob degrom to question is have times. Changed enough for him to win the Cy Young award. That's, today the biggest story in baseball after degrom went out and. Pitched a complete game, yesterday in Philly be affiliate team that is fighting for a playoff spot Nine innings no runs allowed nine strikeouts rundown diagrams numbers He is. I any RA. At one point seven one No other starting pitcher in. The National. League has an IRA under two, this year He is second in. Baserunners allow walks plus hits divided by. Innings pitched known as whip. Fantasy baseball fans he is second in the entire league he is second in strikeouts he is second in innings pitched no other starting pitcher in baseball can boast of, being first or second in as many major categories when it comes to ERA plus. Which is a new way of measuring how effective a pitcher is at allowing runs it tries to even things out. Based. On where you pitch who you pitch for he is the best in baseball When it comes to pitching independent of. Fielding so how do you pitch without the guys behind you affecting what happens to the balls that are in play So what you control as a pitcher he is the best in baseball Where struggles Is in the win loss category He is eight and seven so. He is on pace to go eleven and nine No starting pitcher in nationally kiss-assery Has won a Cy Young? Award with such a pedestrian record The lowest win total is fifteen for a Cy Young award winner Decribes on pace to win eleven Due wins count As a baseball fan As someone who, cares about the game would it bother you If a starting pitcher on a bad team won the Cy Young award, with only eleven wins Eight, five. Express we, are in a position right now in America more importantly where this whole, this race thing is is taken over you know because one because unbelievable I'm, president is kind of trying to. Divide us but I think kind of Almost say he's dividing. Us and what I noticed over the last few. Months that he's kind of sport to kind of divide us and. Something that, I can't relate to because I notice four was the first time I, ever with around someone white You know and I and I and. I got an opportunity to see them and, learn about them and they got opportunity to learn about me and we became very good friends and I was like oh wow this is all because sports and sports forces never been something be by people it's always been something that bring someone again here's Andrew Phillip pony as LeBron James on CNN Friday night And that has. Sparked a Twitter war the president of the, United States went after the interviewer there Don lemon and also Said that Lemon made LeBron Looksmart which isn't easy to do Called lemon the dumbest man on television And so out of the NBA woodwork have come have come luminaries like Michael Jordan and Bill. Russell in the last twenty four hours they've, gone to bat for, LeBron Jordan saying I support LeBron James he's. Doing an amazing job, for his community, last night on Twitter Bill Russell said I, hadn't a need until now to say I'm proud of broad. James for following his dream to open I promise school helping kids and their families work towards a better life all done with his own money for anyone to criticize that. Is shameful and lacks compassion That was the Genesis of the interview LeBron just opened this school in his hometown of Akron Ohio and He's trying, to, foster In environment he's trying to create a place for Kids from low income And troubled backgrounds He has arranged for them Through his foundation To attend this Tim. To expand in the coming years Love, or hate LeBron James one of the things key said in that clip we just played I completely agree with and that. Is sports as a way of, bringing people together and that's what sports have been all about For a long. Time and I I would agree with that It's it's, a place where like think about an NFL Sunday for example or what. An NFL, Sunday used to look like You get Seventy five thousand people in. A stadium From all different walks of life One guy's a doctor One guy makes thirty five thousand dollars a year and has to sit up, in the nose bleeds and it's hard for him to Make the payment on the season.

"This is the pony express here's andrew phillip pony i think in by long history of saying some things that exposed me as a possible degenerate gambler or sports better maybe what is now at the top of that list is the common i just made my producer james ward during the break when i said i actually uttered this statement out loud i got a hot tip here bet ten mark to beat croatia that rock bottom for me do you think i could not name one player in that game i don't know one soccer player from denmark i don't know one soccer player from croatia but i i followed the hot tip and what does that say about me that i'm friends with people who can even offer hot tips on denmark croatia you how do you go about getting hot tip on denmark don't you want to be friends with the people i'm friends with james this is probably gonna be the last time we talked to each other in a longtime james is going to leave cbs sports radio can i say where or is that still no it's everything's public james is going to go work for a cable sports network here in new york city the station that happens to broadcast new york mets games which entertaining product in the world but they're hiring you to make it more entertaining not really but we're not going to have these kind of conversations as much well maybe i'll be the guy giving you the hot tip on denmark you're you know you won't you won't get me hot if i want here's what here's what you'll be the hot tip guy for first week at college football season that thursday night to start the season where there are like one or two decent games and then there's like another eleven or twelve that are like maybe i'll put it this way like a game that i'm thinking of would be like cincinnati plays texas san antonio on the first thursday night of the year you're the guy that would have a feel for that game i have a schedule up and you're not a ton of good games so like that game where like a bad i want to say like a average to below average american athletic conference team place a home game against a conference usa or sunbelt team that's the game that you would have a strong feeling on i've got the game for your thursday october thirtieth ucla august thirtieth august thirtieth sorry august thirtieth ucf yeah going to play uconn okay wow they're starting they're getting right into a conference that's an american athletic conference game either that or western perdue are the two best those the top those are the top two games yeah unfortunately those are the thursday night so it's so the big ten is starting with a conference game that's different and then i can't imagine central florida is bringing back too much from that team that that had won the national championship that went undefeated last year and i'm also opening but northwestern state is playing texas saying how many games do you see that our division one eight teams versus division one eight teams i think only three what's the third so i gave you ucf yukon northwestern purdue wake forest to lanes you'll be tiled that one game that's the cbs sports network there is a strong possibility that you will have some kind of for entertainment by the way this is all for entertainment purposes unless you happen to be in a state like new jersey or delaware nevada then you can you can take an entirely different meaning from this conversation you will definitely have action on wake forest to him that's one hundred percent wake forest is one of my teams i liked them every year i honestly think one of the reasons why that was one of the things that i believe we bonded over is that we both had kind of like quirky degen degenerative thoughts on college football yeah the saturday morning text i i think you i think you carved out a niche at this network as a guy that.

"Lot of things put borings not one of them smart stupid idiotic brilliant genius unrealistic this is the pony express here's andrew phillip pony all right so summer of lebron twenty eighteen when yeah we failed a lot of down time during the drudgery of the nba season so once the nfl season ended and before the playoffs star and you just you sit in studios like this one and you think you scratch your head and you're like okay what am i gonna talk about that it's going to interest the most people is it gonna be the sun's sacramento king game from last night now i mean it it's pointless to even read too much into regular season nba teams regular season nba games with good teams in it so we spent a lot of time at least the shows that do it right i spent a lot of time just man just let's kick up our feet and have a talk have a conversation about where lebron james gonna end up because talking about lebron i know that there are some people who get tired of it but it's it's one topic it's one athlete that everybody has an opinion on what he should do right now where he should go what you think he will do questions that will continue to be asked and will continue to solicit your answers and your opinions on it until it actually happens and then when it does happen will react to whether or not we thought it was the right decision i mean this is gonna for me we're going to talk about this for the next month if not more until the nfl season gets here i think right now it's really intriguing because it doesn't look obvious i wanted to reference what we were talking about or what we were thinking back in the winter because i think linking lebron james to a destination that included chris paul was something that got done a lot he wants to play with chris paul or the banana boat photograph of them together they're super good friends they're really they also have a business acumen where they're thinking about life beyond basketball they have such admiration and respect for one another they also would make a good combination i mean you know that whole perspective or outlook then there was still lebron paul george rumors and those two guys the attached at the hip hand to hand and it does it doesn't look like either one of those scenarios we're going to play out george stays in oklahoma city there's no room for lebron down there chris paul stays in houston the only way that would have happened is if they had orchestrated a sign and trade with the cavaliers and lebron james opted out of that contract you know so the cavs going to be the middle man facilitating that move now so who's left kawhi leonard well colli keiko to la doesn't look like the spurs are gonna let that happen according to espn there haven't been serious conversation between the two sides on leonard whatsoever it hasn't happened at all so we're in dark waters man we're in choppy uncharted waters here a few hours into free agency really not having any good idea or clear picture as to where lebron james where do i think he'll go what do i think will happen i think he'll still end up picking the lakers because i think for lebron james right now he's going to base this decision on more than just basketball now we might be thinking from our from our seat.

"He's a lot of things put bullrings not one of them smart stupid idiotic brilliant genius unrealistic this he's the pony express here's andrew phillip pony all right so summer of lebron twenty eighteen when know we failed a lot of down time during the drudgery of the nba season so once the nfl season ended and before the playoffs star and you just you sit in studios like this one and you think you scratch your head and you're like okay what am i gonna talk about that it's going to interest the most people is it going to be the sun's sacramento king game from last night now i mean it's pointless to even read too much into regular season nba teams regular season nba games with good teams in it so we spent a lot of time at least the shows that do it right i spent a lot of time just man just let's kick up our feet and have a talk and the conversation about where lebron james going to end up yeah because talking about lebron i know that there are some people who get tired of it but it's it's one topic it's one athlete that everybody has an opinion on a what he should do right now where should go what you think he will do questions that will continue to be asked and continue to solicit your answers and your opinions on it until it actually happens and then when it does happen will react to whether or not we thought it was the right decision i mean this is gonna for me we're going to talk about this for the next month if not more until the nfl season gets here i think right now it's really intriguing because it doesn't look obvious i wanted to reference what we were talking about or what we were thinking back in the winter because i think linking lebron james to a destination that included chris paul was something that got done a lot he wants to play with chris paul remember the banana boat photograph of them together they're super good friends there really they also have a business acumen where they're thinking about life beyond basketball they have such admiration and respect for one another they also would make a good combination i mean you know that whole perspective or outlook then there was still lebron paul george rumors and those two guys by the attached at the hip hand to hand and it does and it doesn't look like either one of those scenarios we're going to play out george stays in oklahoma city there's no room for lebron down there chris paul stays in houston the only way that would have happened is if they had orchestrated a sign and trade with the cavaliers and lebron james opted out of that contract you know so the cavs aren't going to be the middle man facilitating that move now so who's left co i leonard well keiko to la doesn't look like the spurs are going to let that happen according to espn there haven't been serious conversation between the two sides on leonard whatsoever it hasn't happened at all so we're in dark waters man we're in choppy uncharted waters here a few hours into free agency really not having any good idea or clear picture as to where lebron james decided where do i think he'll go what do i think will happen i think he'll still end up picking the lakers because i think for lebron james right now he's going to base this decision on more than just basketball now we might be thinking from our from our seat.

"Sports thirteen hundred you're listening to the pony express here's andrew phillip pony don't get me wrong i am i'm patriotic i might not outwardly express it as much as others i don't have an american flag hanging in front of my house i don't wear clothing with the flag on it like i believe in the ideals of this country democracy freedoms etc like i respect the people who defend our country a ton for making that sacrifice in time and in sometimes with their own lives the mortality of of a freedom so that that is my preface for saying that i don't know exactly where this comes from it's not like i come from a military background or my my family's in politics government but i just have a real problem with the people in the united states of america who like in this is a soccer only thing who root for other countries over our own and i think that hurts are not that we're going anywhere fast but i think that that's one of the elements or that's one of the things that continues to hold us back in this particular sport we don't take pride we don't cherish we don't try to make our own soccer better we export our loyalties we pick a european country because maybe that's where we're from we pick a latin american country or a south american country or mexico because we might have relatives from there we pick a country because our favorite club league player or favorite player place for that country we don't put the mls i we might put like fourth or fifth so there are litany of reasons we could do a whole show on why we're not a soccer power i just i want to play this for you one more time this is landon donovan who are all time leading goal score doing an advertisement for wells fargo in telling soccer fans all around the country to do this it's me landon the big tournament is just about to kick off but not everyone's team is going and that's okay wells fargo and iron inviting anyone in need of a team to root for to join us in sharing for the mexican national team vence mahyco i can't do that i can't vamanos mahyco you gotta root for your own country you got to support our teams in our players and that's how we get good tyler in arizona he's on cbs sports radio how's it going.

"Six on xtra sports thirteen hundred athlete money per year thank him out last week and i was six so i'm in no way shape and form put myself in a position right now own a team i think floyd was wanted like two fifty two obviously i don't have a box in hand so boxing won't be the sport i'll be going to stand around the game being around the game will be something i'll probably do for rest of my life either plan for this notice later stage in my career advising people in the nba whatever the case may be but i got two boys and play the game as well so i don't know i can't i can't predict the future on ownership and things of that nature but i have a lot of knowledge of the game i understand town of a no talent but i know the right questions that eggs certain guys and see if they're smart enough to actually think the game as well so now back to the pony express with andrew phillip pony and that was lebron james and i thought the back end of that answer was really telling because it reinforces to me something about lebron james is personality even though from a very young age going back to his high school career when he was such a precocious talent he was on sports illustrated's cover we were declaring him the best high school prospect maybe ever and there were so many expectations put on his shoulders and a lot of they have.

"Isn't strong enough and they ended up having to go back again and try multiple times so that's what's happening to to rachel here on the tilting ladders and then sarah slips up on the floating tiles and gets wet and then slips up again on the monkey bars and goes into the water which leaves rachel they're all she needs to do is finish the monkey bars and she will take down the round but she is not able to she also falls on the monkey bars and because sarah got their first sarah will take this heat and the super super hero squad is going to be down zero to two yeah we'll rachel's completely exhausted from not being able to figure out the ladders yes then we get sean darling hammond versus andrew phillip beck sean is getting a phd and he made it to stage two in vegas and i just i i love this guy he's so positive i don't think i had any idea that he has a degree from harvard and it's getting his phd at berkeley that's crazy sean darling heaven i know but i don't i don't think i knew that have yeah and apparently being genius well look look just because you're getting phd's doesn't mean you're genius necessarily but just it just means that you're smart and dedicated okay those are those are two amazing schools i'm just giving him perhaps some hyperbolic credit credit but i'm giving him credit all the same yes i like sean a lot and then we got andrew phillip beck who is undefeated in in the college ninja team ninja.

"This is the pony express here's andrew phillip pony john lady bird from fanrag and a couple of other outlets has me thinking about the way this top of the nfl draft is gonna shake out because we're in agreement that the giants and jets have no interest in josh allen so if the browns were to go in a different direction with the first pick and that would leave allen available at the browns take sam darnold with the first pick the giants would not take josh allen number two overall they would not look at him as the ally manning successor we both agree that the jets like mayfield a lot more than allen got have a quick mind gotta have rapid decision making skills to succeed in the offense that they built their it's not about arm strength there's not a deep vertical passing attack it's more east west the north south about reading a defense making a rapid decision so that's not josh allen he won't go to the giants he won't go to the jets so if because i'm trying to think about it this way if the browns wanted to take if they wanted to take saquon barkley number one overall.

"You're listening to the pony express here's andrew phillip pony twenty minutes celtics and blocks that the worst playoff series celtics in bucks if you were putting together a promotional piece for that series what would you say my my my my lead in for that game might be something like it's playoff basketball not a very glamorous or sexy series the starch getting taken out of it because of the boston injuries jaanus is the reason to watch that series what does he have up his sleeve what's his ceiling in these playoffs milwaukee one forty four regular season games so they were slightly better than average but i feel like they go into this series as a pick em i'll pick him just about every year there are two first round upsets where the team without homecourt advantage wins the series on average about on average the numbers too in the nhl playoffs it's four first round so this is the seven game series homecourt advantage the talent gap there isn't a lot there there isn't a lot of potential for upset in the nba playoffs it's not as upside down as the stanley cup playoffs or baseball's playoffs because of the five game series and more of the randomness in the nfl playoffs it's one and done this is this is the one playoff tournament where the better team typically wins it's so very rarely do we get first round matchups other than the four five where the team that is on the road start the series either has a matchup advantage or talent advantage so this year i think the two places where you could say that would be new orleans against portland because of the way the playoffs because the way the playoffs went in the west the win totals for teams there's almost no difference from third down to eight there's not a lot of difference between the timber wolves and portland that's why the east playoffs are way more interesting to me you can't say the west is loaded when the third best team is the portland trailblazers so i would guess that the most likely upsets in the first round would be new orleans over portland because even without cousins the pelicans still have the best player with apologies to lillard the best player in that series place for new orleans and you could say the same thing about this boston milwaukee series the.
