What an intro. That is an intro. I mean, you really put your load early with that one. There you go, exactly. Good job. You enjoying the play. We had a great first weekend for the playoffs. Yeah, it was awesome. I thought, you know, Miami creating turnovers, like so much hinged on that game, not being a blowout. 'cause we really had two blowouts, like one and a half blowouts, we had Seattle game blown out in the second half, which kind of went according to plan. And then Monday night, I don't think any of us saw that for sure coming, but not shocked that the bucks, even though I took the bucks, turned into the bucks again. I mean, that's who they are. But Miami forcing turnovers really made that game interesting and then you had damn near another blowout, but a big comeback. So the NFL kind of got lucky in a lot of ways. I think I'm responsible for the charge for the dolphins keeping it close because when it was 14 zero buffalo. I texted a buddy of mine.

Just, you know, an event like we've never seen before, uncharted territories, so we talk about how ESPN handled it. Podcast is coming out a little later this week. One that await to see what happens with Hamlin, we taped this on Thursday and we got some really, really good news on Thursday. So it doesn't feel as frivolous to discuss what happened. But, you know, we cover sports media. How ESPN covered things became a story. I think enough time has passed where it's appropriate to discuss it, so we did that with Jim Miller, who knows everything about ESPN. And we did discuss a couple of other media topics. Jim has some very interesting thoughts on the upcoming NBA media deals. Spoke about Michael's a little bit, spoke about some of the, so that's what we got for you today. And then Sal, locata joins me for our weekly train of thought segment. We read some apple reviews. I explained how I've been sick for a few weeks, talk about New Year's Eve and some other things. Berkshire reported a $962 million loss on insurance underwriting in the third quarter, the worst quarterly loss in a year, auto insurer Geico took the biggest hit among its insurance businesses with the pre-tax loss of $759 million. The company repurchased $1.05 billion worth of its own shares in the period and Berkshire is sitting on a cash pile of $109 billion. Nike is suspending its relationship with Brooklyn Nets stark, Kyrie Irving, following the social media opposed to last week that promoted a film featuring anti semitic tropes. The suspension is effective immediately with no launch of Irving's new shoe that Kyrie 8. It had been slated for a November 8th release. Nike released a statement saying there's no place for hate speech and that they condemn any form of anti semitism, Irving issued an apology on social media Thursday night hours after the net suspended him for at least 5 games. Did you hear, by the way, last week, Andrew marchand on the podcast suggested maybe I changed the name of the segment? I did hear that. I'm glad you brought it up 'cause I forgot. He's completely wrong. You do not change the name of the segment. It is Trina thought. You are the host of the show. This is your thoughts. I'm just joining you. It happened to be weekly here, but you do not change the name. So I thought he was incorrectly the most complimentary towards you, but you need to be careful bashing Martian, I'll end your career in a one column. Oh, bashing him. I like marching. Read your stuff all the time. No, but he was wrong. He was wrong. He was wrong. Yeah, no, I like the train of thoughts. It's your podcast. It's train of thought. Speaking of trainer and just inflating my ego even more. If you're listening to this before Friday, February 25th on that date Friday, February 25th, I'll be co hosting the Maggie and pearl off show with Andrew pearl off Maggie is out that day and pull up and I go way back from in our SI days. I am so excited about this. The only thing that I wish is that we were hosting a show together, but it's great. I mean, I'm excited for you to get this opportunity. I mean, look, realistically, the advice, it just be yourself. Here's the only thing that I would do when I start doing these radio shows or TV shows, whatever. Just pretend that nobody's listening, because I think if it gets in your mind, you know, it's different. We're doing a podcast, right? You know that it's being taped necessarily you could edit it. It feels different than live radio or live TV. But to make it successful, just pretend that nobody's watching, nobody's listening and your BS and with your friend. In this case, proloff. Yeah, I was thinking, you know, the pod that, you know, the media pods usually about an hour, give or take a little bit. This is going to be three hours. I was like, that's pretty daunting. But then I realized, and I know how the fan is here in New York where they're just loaded with commercials. You know, on the pod, we go straight through, no commercials. So, I mean, their ads, but when I'm recording to sort of break the phone, I just keep going and then they insert that. So that should help, I think. 100%. There are, especially in the format for CBS sports radio, which I've done shows there. And I haven't done them necessarily during that particular show, but there are a lot of built in breaks that you will have. You'll see how fast it goes. It's gonna fly by with all the commercials and you talk about somebody else, it'll be plenty of sports topics. You know, on a national level. I think it's gonna be a lot of fun. I think you're gonna enjoy it. So I am excited for it through you because I remember, you know, when I first started getting those opportunities and doing it, so I'm really excited for you. I just, I'm just curious to see how many times I can plug the SI media podcast around three hours. Also, you should tell Sports Illustrated to say if you don't already send some kind of zip up jacket. No, please, no, no, no, no. Yeah, you gotta wear like a spoon. Or something. We'll skip right up. Let's skip right over that part. No. Or if not that, you gotta promote the wrong picture or something. Hey, rock, I want you to come on my SI podcast media podcast. I know you're too wild. Rock. Let's get into some. You know, a lot went on this week with the juwan Howard and Aaron Rodgers. The Rogers thing to me is it's fascinating to me because I felt like when I was going through Twitter with after the Instagram post, but before the McAfee appearance, it does seem like people are now on to the Rogers game of stirring shit up and then acting like the victim and I can't believe people are reacting this way, but people are on to it now. And to me, it's very, very interesting that people now see that he's just trying to get attention. And because here's what turned me on this. I had Kevin Clark from the ring on the pie during the season and I said to Kevin has interviewed Rogers and I guess they have some relationship. And I said to it's so obvious to me that Rogers hates the media. And Kevin's like, no, he doesn't hate the media. He likes the game. But to me, the game is annoying because let me go post something bizarre on Instagram and then act like, oh my God, why are you interacting? What's the big deal? That game now for me is just so tired at this point. But I do understand that and I do think that Rogers knows what he's doing, but if you just look at that post and take it for what it is at face value. I mean, he literally talks about gratitude. And that's all that he says. Word for word in there is showing gratitude whether it's to his ex-girlfriend or girl who cares current girlfriend and I don't care. Or former teammates or future teammates, and then and this is where I kind of understand what Rogers comes from. He's just watch this. I'm gonna post something about gratitude and watch how it gets blown out of proportion. And then you really have lines that say Aaron Rodgers posts cryptic message. Well, how is that a cryptic message if you read it for what it is? Rogers is right. It's not. People take it for what they want as opposed to what it is at face value. Okay, so a couple of things on that. I agree and we're on the same page and that like you just said it. He's going to post it and they go look at people twist my words. Right. But you know people are going to do that. So why not just be clear about what you're doing instead of and I don't think it was cryptic. I think it was blatant in. I'm going to fuck with everyone now. That's what I think. And here's my other issue, okay? You sound like you're one of these dopes who got fooled, okay? Because you're talking about his gratitude as gratitude as gratitude. So you spend 12 days shitting and vomiting and your first thought is let me then go on Instagram and talk about how I have gratitude for everyone. It makes no sense. Right. Did you see the cleanse he did? Herb drops in the nose, laxative therapy, therapeutic vomiting. So you're going to do all that, spend 12 days just, you know, letting it all out mouth and ass. And then I'm going to go on Instagram and say, oh, I'm gratitude. And then go, oh my God, everyone's spinning my words. It's such a tired and transparent act, it's bizarre to me that more people don't see it. Agreed with that. I'm just saying that the idea that you could come out and say, oh, Aaron Rodgers post cryptic. They're playing right into exactly what he thinks is going to happen. But I do understand your point, look, if you're cleansing like that, and I don't care what he does. I didn't even read it. Here's the thing. There are two people that I want nothing to do with and completely different angles here. Anything that comes out of Antonio's brown's mouth, I pay no attention to. I don't even bring it up. It is and you know that the baristas would just weird this guy ever yet. That is the where we have the weirdest guy ever at town. Yeah i actually would disguise my voice and then my daughter said dad. There's a camera. They can see you. But i would go up there and say yes. I would like to have like gilbert godfrey. "There's a chance that the lakers might reunite with lonzo ball. Because he's not going to get that money in new orleans. And i i would love to have him on the lakers. I i'm maybe. I'm in the minority. I've always been lonzo ball fan. And i would love for him to be point guard and i'd love for i'd love to put lebron in different positions and and not have him be taxed with you. Know being your point forward and lonzo points lonzo average last year and fifteen. And you're gonna give you rebounds he's going to give you this he's a he's a willing passer he's willing defender and the question is how much they're gonna cost you. I wouldn't be surprised if the clippers looked at lonzo ball as well because they don't have a true point guard. Yeah poll you're right. And he quietly developed he. Last year he attempted eight threes a game by far the most career shooting thirty eight percent. He's getting into that nice. Three point shooter category thirty percent. You're getting there and in the free throws last year. He did not take a lot of free throws but he went from fifty six percent. Seventy eight percent in one season two years ago.
