in them some of them all out a sugar and so you think about your money that was sure I didn't have a candy bar today I didn't have a desert I'm doing great and you're like no I'm not it's not it's kind of hard to see where we're actually getting a sugar and most adults and kids are getting too much let's face it yes yes yes yes how many more yes is can I say you know what you just said there I will tell you what you said is so important it's like if you don't put sugar in your coffee or you don't eat ice cream cakes cookies and pies okay that's one thing but it's ubiquitous sugar is everywhere it's high dating in processed foods so you've got to read the ingredients on there and there's about fifty synonyms the sugar so you've got to know like you know it's not just yet all the causes and like protest glucose think about that so it's you know really looking at that but what's nice is odd this year and big companies have to actually label added sugar on the facts panel so you can see like you know not all sugar is something you avoid like fruit sugar is good yogurts that has unsweetened unsweetened over that has milk sugar naturally but in a nutshell look at labels and you're right it's hiding everywhere and but you know good can I tell you good news about like feel like you let me down are there like what long range is that tons of brands are listening to our please and they are making no added sugar versions things like chocolate and salad dressings and pasta sauces do exist without added sugar so you just have to read labels and make the swap I've I'd like to find a branch it's always a hard anything to find bread just regular sliced bread just don't even know sugar or buy bread I no nice images every red salt and water and like we we don't have bread I don't I don't buy it yeah because you don't want in the house because really that well I mean we make laws images in our house and a lot of toes so we do that little egg thing we put a guns toast and fry it up by it's call you know yeah yeah I got different names a hole in one or whatever but it's the best breakfasts when you wake up is just tastes so good in a stolen easy I my favorite bread is sprouted that whole grain bread when you sprouted grains they have more observable protein and vitamins and minerals and so you can see usually that bread is sold in the freezer section because it has no additives preservatives means you're not going to find it in your normal place what it what is it yeah we not in your usual I'll you've usually got to go to like the frozen section is it right next to the ice cream so this is interesting Caroline right I am the mom of two Tyler girls two and three point five and I am a yoga teacher I get up at four forty five every morning practice and then I spend thirty minutes on the elliptical good for you thank you and I am so it's also important to get that quiet time before the troops wake up and I think a lot of people do find that you just to jump start kick start your day with that moment for yourself at thirty minutes for yourself to do something that's healthy before you go go go but with a clear mind she can stir with to suggest that yoga practice in there so she's probably doing a little bit of meditation and when you have toddlers you have to be on your game they're everywhere running anyway you get a little exercise built into the scheduling right there in the mornings are so magical right she really has something there with like doing exercise doing spiritual reading you know even just a little bit of me time I mean can be such an important thing in the morning yes yeah eight one five that's called an egg in a frame you guys familiar with when I talk and whole as what we kind of got a little out of the bread out you put these in years yeah I see it tells because you guys are your kids yeah well I used to do that I think a lot it was fun my Italian mother lies guys lose does it so she's like she calls it a hole in one so I don't know everyone causes are different but anyway it's a go fast go to thing that I love to do okay foods you should never eat or you never order when you dine out this is interesting less because I find that the periods of my life when I've dined out the most I gain the most weight and I don't think that should surprise us you don't really know what you're eating even though it tastes so good and there's an expense to it too but it tastes so guard and doesn't feel like things I could prepare myself but you really don't know right you just all my gosh you don't know and I have to say you know I was looking at a list like that and there's a lot of healthy stuff that people are like I'm gonna get the salad I'm going to be so good and I'm like wrong answer because even like just thinking that you're doing like the fish or the salad or this sushi just because you think it sounds like it's going to be healthy how they prepare it makes a load of difference so cells with tons of dressing and cheeses and dried Sweden fruits and all that stuff and of being a minor calories in the candied nuts with cheese yep the cranberry yeah and then that poppy seed dressing and like you just decide that salad is no longer good yeah so I mean Caesar salad member that was such a like a big thing like have a Caesar salad with all the croutons and it's soaked in garlic and butter and that's what makes it taste good but you're right you just did there's a lot of that in it it's like okay one of my eating one of raising right that so I just I liked it when we're talking about restaurants I just like to bring something like that up because a lot of people are like I know I know don't eat the prize don't eat the for I checked and like the chase get you know and so like you kind of get what's healthy in was not but at a restaurant what it can just pull one over on you because you think like well I'm getting like a salad and that's healthy and not necessarily just have to pay attention tax what's on it well I like to that the menu boards and a lot of the chains actually have the salad counts I mean even in some of the places where it's a a pizza or a breathable or something you'll see the range that could be as much as twelve hundred calories for just one bowl who have lunch in the group because that was my total for the day in one sitting hi ladies I get the sprout bread this is the eight four seven area code I get this router breaded Aldi right there they they have it their version there too it's what is in the aisle she says a look at prostrating yeah it probably is sprouted and they just have a quicker go they go through a faster so they're able to keep it on the shelf that's why the oftentimes keep in the freezer section because there's just no preservatives or additives are can't last on the shop very long all right so I want to ask you because we've talked about this we tease this we were mentioning the worst alcohols for hang over and per secco apparently is top on the list I don't believe I'm not I'm just throwing it out there I don't believe okay well I believe here's why I'm telling you the worst thing for hang over our sugary cocktails so it is that by and large the crazy thing that alcohol does your blood sugar levels it has it crashing down like people get shaky and almost like a hypoglycemic low blood sugar from alcohol but then you add sugar into that drink so this is you know everything from margaritas ten mules all a lease on a cracker not deals that are coming out and hit the old fashioned the Manhattans and Hank Goldberg yeah ingredients in them that I can't I can't I don't understand some of the ingredients Leslie tastes good the drinking faster this call that's a good point too so I'm saying like sugars are culprit but that's another great point is a major hang over because you had three yeah go down easy yeah right okay so energy zapping foods is that I guess sugar would also be on that list right but let's just keep throwing it under the bus right under their sugar sugar sugar exactly but you know what it is true I mean you know the foods that you know it's big meals even just the size of a meal can be an energy that black people talk about thanksgiving affect you know and they blame the poor Turkey right and what's actually causing people to get so tired after thanksgiving is just huge volumes of food you know your body has to digest all that so you know like eating a light regular meals you know having vegetables that are high in treating those are all things are energizing my favorite things their energizing that I love are the roasted vegetables finally we really start to see a trend in that even in the restaurants and I think it's restaurant weeks I feel bad talking about food poorly that no one wants to go out to a restaurant I was enjoying restaurant week two nights in a row he's got great and any good look for things that are healthy the roasted vegetables dressings on the sides all those quick things they do work right so if you just stick to your guns you can still stay eating healthy even during restaurant week or when you go out to dinner yeah and I like what you said to is like you know their things you can't make it home often you get inspired so I like going to restaurants I eat a little bit of a lot of things and I just get inspiration for like I wanna try make a version of that on the second tastes exactly the same but it's since inspiration for my regular whole home routine right go I got an on air cookers either call err err fire if you and I well because I'm trying to make the people in my household eats more vegetables to make them crispy then maybe they'll Edom I like the immersion blender and my suvi those are like my to go to things for quick easy easy clean up fast nice and then so okay I just have to get to this because I heard you say who's the other last night on the air "A. fighter have a text here about the peloton bike a two thousand dollar clothes hanger because that's what the them being kind of right you get all excited you know on this time you're having work all the time is going to grade you know in January I won't have to hit the gym and then you just sort of start piling stuff up on it I've done that before with much lesser IGN expensive equipment and you we were talking about magnesium and how there is a growing kind of love there's people are taking the supplements in ways that I didn't know they were applicable to and that it just seems like more people are turning to them tell us what the magnesium thing is all about how it might help you and always good idea talk your doctor about these kinds of things but what what are people finding so magnesium is now one of the super supplements that's out there we're seeing that if you take about five hundred milligrams right before bed time it will help you with sleep where is melatonin which has been a natural supplements all along you know you have to take for forty six weeks before you see that change but magnesium is a game changer it's also been tested recently on med school students which is open residency and when they took magnesium supplements in the morning and the night they had less sleep interruption and better energy than the medical residents that didn't so we're seeing that it helps with stress anxiety and sleep which was something that we don't really know before them it's kind of cool you know foods that are high in that like your kale and even wasters magnesium rich foods add them into your diet or try to a supplement and I think that's really kind of an interesting thing and I have tried it yeah I was gonna ask you have you tried it before bed really works you know I'm over fifty about tell you my age at this point and so sleep interruptions a huge deal so it try it I mean just check with your doctor first another good time to try it is alcohol yeah yeah someone here in there and forty six ounces of red wine four hour delay of sleep interruptions of you have a glass of wine it eight around midnight you might have that wake up because this is that the system's depressed and then it comes back to normal so you get that sleep drops in taking magnesium as a way to keep your sleep when you have those holiday parties might be a good way to correct I think he's in one of those types of vitamins or supplements that you could overdose on it not necessarily overdose but it take much right yes have too much of or is it something that will flow through your system when it has enough so just with any mineral or vitamin you can't have a toxic city toxicity effect but I don't see any studies or anything one warnings like don't take more than a thousand one day like your daily vitamins have some magnesium and then if you add the supplement and then the food so I was just curious in that I have not seen anything on that so I'd say you probably be okay but always check with your doctor first we're talking about sleep which is another issue I think you generally I think if we as adults or don't get enough sleep I would say I know very few people who get a ton of sleep or as much sleep as they'd like we have busy schedules busy lives and especially this time of year schedules are interrupted but things are different and so you're sort of like okay well what I'm just gonna deal with whatever I have in and go but there's is interesting study the talks about stop obsessing over your sleep because it's the worrying connected to the sleep a plus and it really just met you know is stressed the system out even more you know it's so crazy is the apps I think of have contributed to this as well but we did learn a lot about sleep deprivation and weight gain with the left in and Caroline hormones so leptin helps your body lose weight by using fat as a fuel and guerrilla help you increase your appetites listened to our model facts we get less sleep you get more hungry when you don't sleep as much and because of that we lost affect our apps that are the activity trackers in that have now added your sleep cycles and are you sleeping soundly and I think that's where people are stressing out like oh my god I only slept for three hours some to her get enough or your apple watch tells you or whatever your device tells you how much usually really all my gosh that's not enough he's I wish I almost didn't know and then you get more stressed out about it it's today sleep at live your lives underrated I'm it's just really and your you mentioned that you at Andre you use the word game changer and Adam I know you know something about a new net that is I don't know as a new N. F. like documentary that a lot of people in your fitness world are talking about I just seen the headlines about it what what is it it's a really cool documentary on Netflix and I'll be the first to admit when I saw that it got me pumped I I was thinking all right I'm gonna be vegan right away the V. is about the vegan lifestyle it's about these high performing athletes who have all switched to a vegan lifestyle and their performances are shooting through the roof they've got Olympic medalist there they've got football teams they've got MMA fighters and it's just it's really interesting how plant protein can affect your body differently and help you perform better in in sports have you tried it because you're this your enemy fighters so big deal past month I have I've kind of that half done it so I've cut out meat of cut out chicken I've kept fission of kept eggs big injure you have a lot of clients who ask about this in your you don't actually recommend the strict vegan diet that's not so it's hard to do anyway I mean I don't even I don't know you it's a lot of very good at it and you have to remember that you're combining broccoli and beans in order to get those complete proteins at and I'll be the first to admit I went to a vegan yoga surf camping courts tariqa it was wonderful having a gourmet chef cooked vegan the whole time loved it but I still need I feel like I create my beef and I think it's an easy way to get protein is through animal proteins and there are you know we're kind of wars far nature so for me I'm like vegan is good it's only about you know eleven percent of the population but I still think you need your your lean proteins and definitely fish I mean we need those make it three fatty acids we're seeing so much on omega threes on brain health and brain for action and prevention of Alzheimer's so to me I think you need your salmon magnesium Malay we have a textured is not glistening so they're different different types of magnesium I guess supplements again get ask your doctor because that this not all magnesium that you just happen to see on the store shelf that you should start popping without getting some sort of you know it professional advice on that kind of thing you mentioned that earlier yeah and then you also for talking you said that the when it comes to the flu and the cold that's going around right now everyone the best advice I was here is have some honey to try to sue the symptoms it's like there's so many natural things up there that you can do to sort of help rather than pop and all the other stuff yeah we'll get some good rest thing right okay sleep can totally hear a body I believe that Andrew Metcalfe celebrity fitness expert and Adam decker nutritionists an MMA fighter thank you both for being here thanks for sharing your thoughts on all things wellness some wellness Wednesdays we're back with more here we want to talk learn you like this we've got a woman here have you ever seen those advertisements for get a buy a home in Italy for one dollar one euro or been on a home because this little towns they want you to to track to because the population is not strong enough or they don't have enough people well we have a Chicago woman here who did just that she just been on a home she plans to move there she's got this incredible story and she's gonna talk to us coming up is the doctrine show.

I'm glad you asked because we should I feel like we've done a pretty good job of this podcast talking about the possibility of around to wide receiver, which I think in this class counts as a highly drafted weather Seaver. But even looking at the two guys that are here. Sammy Watkins in Byron Pringle, one didn't play all last year. Sammy Watkins contract is made to get out of after this year. If you don't bring back Taibbi killer, obviously gonna keep walking around at least for that final year. But it's team that needs receivers especially fill is in the long term plan. So yeah, looking is receiver at pick twenty nine probably is a backup plan to defensive player. Or just the fact that it's the best player available on the board. But it's an option in if you don't see when there I would be a little surprised if you get out of day to without seeing wide receiver drafted by the chiefs is like you said this team that needs wide receivers.
