"They're not going to have the quarterback they want. And they're going to make an offer. I would just be really disappointed if it was a colts that were the team that took a shot after biscuit. I want to teach a risk you go to the Giants actually. Go play for Brian dabel, go compete with Daniel Jones, may the best man win. But the colts have no other options. It's so frustrating and disappointing because what if the Giants trade for deshaun Watson? Same situation. Dude, no, this is how bad it is. All this really is showing is how bad the cold's quarterback options are because you're now talking about potential excitement for Daniel Jones, right? That's when you know the world is bad for cold. The options are just so poor this year. That's why I'm like, don't go into this season thinking we're going to get our franchise guy, right? You're going to want to build up and get weapons for next year. It sucks. It means, again, like you said, we're going to end up another year of, you know, playing the quarterback carousel, but they're just really isn't any options outside of miracles, you know, that the cold have that they're going to end up getting a franchise guy. That's going to be there for years and years to come. Which is why makes this wince trade just a head scratcher. I see unfortunately the next couple of years being a problem for the colts where they're not going to have the high first round pick. There's not a lot of options available. There's not a lot of trade options. I think it could be three years before we see the colds get back to having, they're going to be a good football team without a quarterback for a while. Unfortunately, and I don't know what to do. It all traces back to Andrew lock retiring early and throwing all their plans out of whack, but we're talking about Philip Rivers may be coming back from coaching high school football to be the coldest quarterback again. Things are not good for the colts at all. I want to ask you, what should the colts do in the NFL Draft? What do you have any I know we're a little bit early about a month away still, but what do you want to happen for the colts during the draft? And what moves should they make and what moves what holes do they need to fill on their roster? Well, there's three holes that need to be filled in the draft. And quarterback is not one of them. I don't want the colts to grab a quarterback. Like I said, there's not a quarterback in this draft that I feel is a long-term quarterback, so why spend amid high round pick on something that is just going to ride the bench the entire time? I don't like that idea at all. We need a left tackle because Eric Fisher's gone. Reports are he will probably won't be resigned. So that's an option and lucky for the colts that the tackle position in this draft is pretty deep. The colts could use, I hate saying this because they spent a lot of draft picks on this position, high draft picks. Edge rusher, they need another edge rusher. No one has proven themselves on the edge yet..

"I trust the lexicon shines make good decisions and i think he's got far higher ceilings. Someone like mark joensuu probably is a good fit for new england. I think you know probably going to do exactly what he says and probably delivered close to what his capabilities is assessment for where he was drafted. I will do. I think there's far more ex quality to trae line suit as you said we hadn't seen in almost two years pretty excited by some of what he was able to do. Even in preseason so think he's potentially you know really really interesting. You know if something was to happen garoppolo with seniors injury record. I wouldn't be surprised to see them. Trayvon's looks now. We really see what he's capable of. I think he's just a good punk for them in that spot to give them the quarterbacks around the board the drums and to your point i have. Garoppolo is the highest at quarterback Highest injury risk of any quarterback Nine point seven percent chance of giving injured in a given game rufus when you listen to him. Talk about these rookie quarterbacks. Do you have any thoughts yourself on the rookie quarterbacks. And how you're modeling those guys like. I'm assuming that if lance started in front of garoppolo that would immediately downgrade the niners right. Yeah it would in mind. And i think it's a it's i don't know if i'm right with that. I think the. Nfl is certainly changing and it younger quarterbacks rookie quarterbacks are on occasion performing very high levels and i don't think that has always been the case historically however they are still overall performing at worst levels than they will get to and I think there's a few that stand out in our minds. Like andrew lock revere. Rg three russell. Wilson shawn watson Arbor cluster justin herbert cap mahomes. Patrick mahomes homes only played one game in his rookie right but i mean his his second year when he his beginning i start his first starts. No you're but what i'm saying. Good no sorry. I'm ready for you to translate what i said. No no god. I was just saying that That the data at like there hasn't been some seismic shift in the data like that. I've seen but clearly. I do think that the nfl is different now than it was fifteen years ago. And so that. That's actually what your friend. Cade was over at my house a couple of days ago really and we talked about this notion because i think one of the things that you've been clear on over the last years is that you hate rookie quarterback's generally in your model. Like you like crotchety red rifle arms. Like andy dalton And and you you've said like this could be somewhat of a flaw in my model. But you've also been very clear to shit on these rookie. Quarterbacks are these young quarterbacks in like the reality is that. This phenomenon of rookies playing is relatively recent. And it's also The there there. It's a small sample size. So i think it's really interesting with this. Many quarter rookie..

"In and driving me crazy fat as you know. I mean that's nerve nervous nervous. Nellie mcmahon denver now but You know and then you know deciding to the fifty-three is one thing. But then decide in the forty six. Who's going to be up. And now you get forty eight on game day. You know you get two extra players. One being an offensive lineman. So i think you know managing the roster and manage and who is going to be up on game day talk okay. So let's the rookie head coaches. Let's dive into that a little bit deeper. Because you've got a chance to experience that in our team Whatever you were rookie head coach by the way was ranked thirty second out thirty two. Nfl teams by all things. There was actually on the back of our shirt by the way they had all the teams in our name was. Rake down by our ass down here it was. It was a full thing. Because that's literally how we were. Viewed in the roster was viewed and obviously just had andrew lock which. I think i can't wait to hear your thoughts and how urban and trevor will do this thing but as a rookie head coach day before let's say dave before game night four game did you. Were you nervous as hell because you had no idea what was going to expect her All the experience of being an assistant coach and kind of feeling how the room was. Did you have. Obviously you have hope but was there a lot of like what the hell could happen tomorrow. The night before a game. Lot of anxiety. I didn't need a diaper Pretty pretty close pretty close. You just don't want to screw the thing up. You know you wanna give your Your players in your thima chance and every situation go out and and play well and just you don't wanna screw that thing up so you know. Having having things organized having things Settled as far as just replay. And making sure that you've got somebody in the box that can manage the game. Help you manage the game from from dallin distance timeout situation replay situation. Who's that guy going to be. That guy has to know those rules inside now. All those things. So yeah these first year head coaches you know. There's a bunch of things that's going through their mind right now They're going to go over their game plans one last time Offense defense special teams are checklists. The situation stuff to replace stuff. There's there's a ton of stuff. But i will say at the end of the day. All these guys are playing with house money right now too so let it rip have fun. Go out there. Get your team. Ready to go You know it's not bubbles. Coming out the nose i go out and have fun and let those guys make your plants simple so that those guys can go play fast and have fun and and and go out and compete and again. You're playing with house money. Let it rip. Nobody's expecting any of these rookie head coaches to fucking be bill belichick on game on i. That is something. I never even really thought about the j. trucks so we were just talking about ten bucks and how they are absolutely set up for success to be better than your were last year like. Is it just people that are fans are a lot of people in the studio. Just think that they're just gonna roll through their their regular season and win the super bowl again. How possibly do you think that is also. We didn't give our predictions. Yeah you know twenty two starters. Back tom brady. It's easy to say you're going to roll right to you. Know the nfc make it to the conference championship. Go get to the super bowl. But you got a huge bull's eye on your chest now you know and You know expectation. Expectations can can do a lot of things to a lot of people now. I don't expect we still together. I don't expect this group. Especially you know bringing tom brady down there. That's all cooperation in and of itself. So everybody's level of preparation play. Everything goes from here to here. You know out the roof and so Roussel do a great job. Managing all that stuff as we know the coaching staff down. There's experience that got you know. Great guys calling the plays on offense and defense and special teams and those guys know that players players the coaches. They've been through this drill. So i think once you get out there But you will out the ball and you kick that thing off and everything. The dust settles. I think this group Definitely has a chance to repeat. Hey chuck listen to this. There was teams that were interested in. Tom brady come into their building when he became a free agency. That set it like their quarterback position allegedly and i said to what you said like you get. Tom brady building accountability. Is i forever athletic. Trainers chefs okay chefs the bus drivers by the way people by managers. You name it. Everybody doesn't want to be the reason why they don't win. I couldn't believe that some teams are like he's too old out there. that is crazy to me trump. You need a guy i mean. If you get a guy you hang on to your guy forever. Aaron rodgers on tuesday. You gotta face that he just got caught on. I was gonna talk to him about eric you know. And if he listened. Tuesday talk yesterday in. How leflore has always been the ally like. I'm excited here. Chuck's thoughts on the floor. Being the ally here in maybe even being a massive part of that whole thing sticking together for a long time at this point a lot of pressure absolutely and he kinda. There's probably tongue in cheek. But he said that was one of the reasons why he didn't want to go back to chicago. It's like. I'm sick and tired of having to prepare for rogers to come in and just written my guts out. You know. it's so yeah it would be very interesting to see his his take on on their relationships wide. You put your router and chuck house god. What is chuck. He's got houses fucking coaching. Miami's coach boise's coach in montana. I think more baltimore. I think i think he potentially you know. Has it coaching. ucla hyperion. Pretty sure i didn't know ladies and gentlemen back with us with incredible internet as chocolate and power. What we'll say so. Hey so full disclosure. I got three bars. Full bars everything so like you. Aj i know in the addict you're up top in in the castle there in ohio. Pretty definitely gotta get somebody over to whatever building. You're in downtown indie barge. I got everything but aj. So i'm living in boise idaho now. My first full time. Coaching job was here in one thousand nine hundred seven. I met my wife tina. We started dating in eighty eight. Got married in eighty. Nine rest is history. So i got to boise idaho. We dated two months left town. She came to east carolina for spring. Break senator put on a plane called her over the phone. The next day ashura american makes she said thankfully yes. Dad was.

"Which i think has a chance to be the best car to the last. I don't know how many years if he if he does what i think he's gonna do. Yes so last year the talk was. We had never seen a prospect and a again just an hobby terms elway's probably the greatest prospector or andrew. Luck but in terms of the hobby. Because of timing we had never seen a hobby. Prospect like jonesboro ever. I mean when product for started releasing which always releases months before they step on the field. The prices were astronomical. But we've seen that shattered now with trump alarms. I mean all the other guys are almost on par with borough in herbert last year. Zach wilson fields the hype around them enough but oh by the way we also have the number one prospect value is ever really. Change your luck. Yeah yeah and andrew lock like in twenty twelve. There was no hobby market for football. So i like this kid is like skill is there. But then like the hype. He's he's the design of the nfl. Like that's the effect he's had on cards already For twenty twenty one football product. It's it's nuts and then you have the trae land pieces. Well where trae lamb knows kids. The one who's like shanahan was in on him. Apparently really early those quarterbacks really well and he could be asleep or two but it's fun to see the rejuvinated football mark and then baseball's another orne it. They was talking about others. No stars baseball but it certainly has been reflected in the hobby the two thousand nineteen which which was at the bowman. One is like this iconic rookie set now. Who's in that one one of them. Yes so two thousand nineteen bowman which is one of the first products that comes out every year that has like the prospects is wonder. Franco's first card monster money also has got him. Julio rodriguez now we're gonna prospects but monster bat coming. J rod jet gerard absolute monster and i like him better than iran. Because he was a yankee. Markle lucia any of these kids. Who have incredible hype and they come up in these products in the product. Just go through the roof and bowman always is like kind of z name-brand baseball for those kids. You and i had the same theory on baseball rookie cards. I'm out on our pitchers at all times. I don't pitchers it's the same thing for this. Aol keeper league and we always try to just dropped hitters. 'cause you draft this pitcher and it's like oh my god he's the best college arm and then the guy is hurt a week later whereas at least a haters there's some sort of injuries stability now like some of the illinois got hurt this year. So it's not. The caters can't get hurt but allies. Coming back this week but it seems like the last five years or so at least like with fla- junior and tattoos and and it just seems like we're in the middle of a boom. I don't know how how's it translated to cards compared to what you thought would happen yet. So i've i've notoriously been down on otani. 'cause i got burned. The first year i bought him as like this phoenix. He's going to be great. And then i just held because i thought hey will see the ruth comparisons and the hype and he got injured the first couple of years so i got murdered sold off cut my losses and was like bitter about it. Oh of course. I i hate otani healthier taty. Yeah just dude go break your leg. Take a team jerk. I just totally wrong but otani stuff now is unbelievably expensive. I mean it's it should be patties and what's cool is now not only. Do we have like these guys hitting in playing great arguably some of not arguably. They are the best names in baseball. But it's like baseball's kinda fun again. Like yeah i am. I'm younger than you. select me. Griffey was the only guy who was fun to watch the rest of it was like a bunch of stiff guys who didn't care if they cared but they were just boring even trout. What's trove ever done this interesting. I know he's great talent. No question otani so much more fun than show. It's weird weirdo. Us always you but you nailed the otani thing and then you somehow lost money on it. Even though all of your instincts were correct. You went all in autumn. He just got early. Guess what you quit quitter. There's no room for quitters in this hobby. Gio here's you quit on a guy. Trustor instincts How like if you were a friend. Terry apart and i can't the boss relationship i just sit here and take. Yeah i i was so yeah i i was too early selling but then it's like i dunno if you held it for a year and a half hats off to you but if it ties up your capital i i never know what to do with. I'm always one. If i think it's going downhill. I'm cutting my losses all-year your batting average. Your batting average has been pretty great with us i. The highlight is the The early two thousands brady stuff. Yeah that's that's how you should be if you ever get famous for this stuff. They'd right the giant magazine profil. That'll be like the lead of the profile. How you were just all in on tom terrific. It's just gonna say. Simmons lackey got lucky headline london. And we've been writing team at the ringer. Siamese with the podcast until you until you're brady story. Yeah brady. I just held onto forever. I threw up watching the guy so i would spine his stuff forever..

"That'll be the argument like he couldn't even win a championship with kyrie irving and kevin durant. If that doesn't happen that would be the argument. But then i don't care about that. But i feel like the hardcore nba fan when starting to compare players. Those does james harden care about the nba fans. You know beer having a couple of beers conversation. No he doesn't care about that he's not kevin durant. He's not card off. And i don't think he is. I think kevin durant is. I think that stuff bothers him. Yes when people say certain things and compared. Don't compare me to this. Guy's we've talked about with him in janas. I don't think james harden's really interested in those things at least. That's the vibe that he wants to win a championship and that'd be nice experience that but if he doesn't win one he's just going to be out there with his three hundred million dollars out and fashion week in paris. Living a life. But look at chris paul right now and i know a lot of people aren't watching it because the ratings are horrific terrible. But you know he's guy's been around for sixteen years and has never won a championship and he's on the cusp of winning a championship. Right now and you know he's the head of the nba players association as well and he's an all those state farm commercials. Yeah and he's doing a million different things and now he may be planning his best basketball that he's ever played any has a chance to finally win a championship. And i think a lot of people that cover the nba that followed the nba that are hardcore fans of the nba. I would think a rooting for the guy. He's he's about as likable as they come. Yeah for sure. I mean he's had a couple of issues throughout his career. People would say you know. He's not the greatest. Maybe a little bit of a chip on his shoulder type stuff. But i think most people like chris paul for sure. He's had that lebron james relationship. There's no doubt about it. But i mean if chris paul one championship or not. How much does that actually mean to. The players opposed to the the stephen a. smith. Show max kellerman guys. You know what. I'm saying like magnon championship breaks. That's what i'm trying to say especially when you are an nba star these days and you get paid that type of money. I mean it's just it's just different. I mean this is why i really do. Believe in the next couple of years and we're already starting to see for example andrew lock. I think in part retired when he did because he already had made so much. Money was much easier to make that decision because he had made so much money. If this were thirty years ago he probably saying you know. I'll fight thirty injuries. A couple more years you get a couple more million dollars. Maybe you know not retire so early but the fact that he had already cashed in on a very large contract when he's thinking about the reasons to play or not play any longer. It's a lot easier to say. I'm not all that interested anymore. In going through rehab process. I hurt my body hurts and look at all. The money already made the one thing. I will say about especially nba players and again. It's just a perception that i have Realizing that when david stern decided to make it a player as opposed to about the teams that we need stars need personalities. Larry bird magic johnson. Isiah thomas michael jordan. Patrick ewing charles. Barkley that whole group kinda reignited the interest back into the nba..

"For the patriots over the course of those three years. It was mainly manning right. Let's go back to two thousand eleven. They beat flacco in the afc championship. Game then the next year they lost flacco in the afc championship game. So for two years in a row was flacco. They had to get by then the following year. It was manning the they they they lost to right so there's payton than it was andrew. Lock who they be than. It was manning who they lost to then. It was big ben who they be then. It was bortles who they beat then. Who's mahomes who they beat. So the two most common ones were flacco and manning and of course after twenty twelve season. Flacco was golf. The face of the earth and manning retired after twenty fifteen. Big ben was there once against them. Blake bortles isn't i'm not going to be mean to blake bortles but we'll just leave him out of this conversation that we're not mean to blake. Bortles van patrick mahomes of course in their most recent afc championship game. So it's not like they had a clear rival who they're facing year after year after year after you. No one thought that he was going to be lucky and it could have been locked right. But then he got demolished forty five to seven and then retired a few years later because he just got beaten up so many times. You know an andrew luck could have been guida start facing every year or brady remained in new england. It could have been mahomes versus. Brady like every c. championship game. But it's not. He left so the reason. New england was able to go to in my point. Here you'll see a second. The reason they were able to go to eight straight conference championship games is because there is really no one to content. And i hate to say this. Yes they're very very good teams every single.

"One more for you in our inner out or actually to. I'm sorry drew. Lock starts at least nine games for denver and twenty twenty one in i you will because i think bridgewater just a guy and we don't think that roger's gonna get moved so i think they're going to let lock play but i don't think he's gonna play the whole season. I think at some point. They're gonna make a move just everybody now. All these quarterbacks who have struggled early in their careers are all josh allen. Oh he's going to be fine. Let's look at josh. Josh allen is a great great for him. That is the outline and all outliers. If you're that bag your first couple of years you're pretty bad and drew lock been bad. So i'm in the broncos really have no better option but i don't think he's gonna play all year go eventually managed. Teddy bridgewater is already out there. Giving salad compliments to drew lock. They're not paying him. Like a starting quarterback but i feel like he's gonna put play about ten games. I think we're going to get a lot of teddy here Because drew lock is just not good at the game of football. Which is a key thing to be a good quarterback. So i will be out. Andrew lock starting at least nine. Let's go to the dolphins. They'll regret letting old man ryan fitzpatrick walk out the door. Inter out i regret it wa. That's that's depressing. He's the best quarterback on a team last year. No question and i'm not sitting here saying you'll even go super bowl but he's been loved by the teammates. He's he's a quarterback who serviceable tell you remember last year when to a stunk up the joint. And they just yank him the third quarter. They're not yanking him now he now by the way. It's what you have to just play it out like. i'm not saying. The dolphins are wrongful flooding fitzpatrick. Oh but my point is the reason. I've been on this as i do. There are going to be himes. We don't like damn it would be really nice to have somebody who could potentially give us a jolt. Give him a scare because you still only going to their depth chart man all right to is obviously the guy we know this jacoby percents backup and by the way that's fine. He's a good backup shirt. But phychi gives you a little more upset. I don't know that you're going to go for the hulk for shut so quickly. But i'll i'll tell you know his quote to peter king that he didn't know the playbook last year. I get your rookie. I don't expect you to know like a five year vet bro. You gotta know the playbook this is. This is your job. Yeah i mean. It's twenty twenty in the nfl and quarterbacks coming now. This isn't like when you work here. Even when i was a kid where you're quarterback drafted. I usually sat year. Maybe two years.

"A good human being. I don't know. I mean he says horrible bad things about andrew lock and that's why we we. We made a segment for roy williams who just retired said some something funny about him of higher. You couldn't put on his pants the right way during a basketball game. So how could he comment on on the tar heels. And he's right he's right so yes godly goons guys. I want to saw says Let's continue with the baseball thing. Major league baseball for suspending nick. Cassiano says there's a drive into deep left field and make a four nothing ballgame okay of mean fame for quote instigating a bench clearing quote unquote brawl because it wasn't really a brawl as a bunch of guys just kinda standing next to each other for celebrating scoring iran against the saint louis cardinals. Did you guys see this. Yep all right. let's too much. I mean i understand cost the onnell's flexing on the picture. Whatever and everything that happened. There is suspension worthy in my opinion. That's just the mlb becoming the Brian mccann's of baseball. That's a good name. That's a good name. Yeah nicasio just just flexing nothing. He didn't push He just kinda to him. And i like june lease common here. He basically did what. Every nba player does every night whenever they dunk on somebody. So i mean come on man remember. Baseball's the you know the it's peer sport with the unwritten rules. You gotta know better come on. This is an unwritten rules my ass so yada your molina. I feel should have been suspended if they're going to suspend guys. Then let's let's make it even your molina who's always in all of these brawls because it feels touchable he i swear if he was a hockey player he wouldn't be doing this shit he would have been knocked out the moment that he started something with anybody in the nhl and he would never start a fight again. That's what yada yada molina. I swear somebody should actually punch them. And that way the carlos to me like well. That whole retirement just started for i. I really really want somebody do that. My brother-in-law's the st louis cardinals. Fan by air. Molina really just needs the needs somebody to do that to anybody. But there's gonna be a budget. I was gonna to say about puerto ricans but oh i think you're thinking erica so in all fairness you know most and run highs so i understand no. I'm just saying he's always in this. He's always in this. I got the cubs is usually the central. Division teams are always fight each other for some reason but the nl central but man he he. Somebody needs again atom at some point. The test cuts Have only been sustained through government. research dollars either through the military or just some sort of aviation offset but The last one. I think there's a british company that was developing what they are called the heavier but lighter than air blimp. Which essentially combines the aspects of the near but also kind of an airfoil designed to the envelope To allow to kind of fly in the same way that you would have fixed wing aircraft. Not great idea. Also one of those things. I don't gonna go anywhere. Well i all say. Roger is a just because he will have taken a lot of swings at it doesn't mean that it's not Something that can take an advancement forward. I think that's kind of been one of the defining thoughts of our age Quite frankly that that things that we thought were either not not not viable because enough people had tried quote unquote like the reusability of rockets for example or The viability of of mass market electric. "There's a dump off in the middle of the field. Not anywhere near Mike Evans. The ball got intercepted. That's a pick up the flag and let's play football. Like why allow the penalty toe have that much of a weight in the Super Bowl? I just didn't like it. Into the first half. They've been called the penalty on Tyrone Matthew in the end zone on Mike Evans. I don't think that's pass interference. I thought the ball was uncatchable. That's number one, and I don't think that the level of contact created, giving them the ball on the two yard line. I'm not here, blaming the officials why Kansas City lost. The officials are also part of why they lost like sometimes the officials could be a reason. But not the reason. You know, I'm saying Have we're making the pie chart of blame. The officials get some of the pie. I thought they were the reason that the score was lopsided at halftime. I still think Kansas City would have been losing at halftime. And who knows how they would respond in the second half? It didn't matter. They ended up, not scoring in the game again. I still think they lose the game, but I think One reason of why it was 21 to 6 heading into halftime. I think that was the officials. I think it's hard to shake that, based on how the game was played. So coming up in a little bit, will head to Houston and we'll talk about the Houston situation with JJ. What we'll see where he lands. I think that the Packers and the Steelers make a lot of sense. With J. J. Watt. And we'll sort of see how that plays itself out and whether or not he's going to end up in a place like Green Bay or a place like Pittsburgh, we'll see sort of where he ends up in this whole thing. I think the Carson Wentz story is probably going to be the big story this weekend, I think is going to dominate the headlines whenever you're watching your national TV and you're the bay shows and your radio topic. So if you missed it earlier today, Roger Dworsky, formerly of ESPN. He's in the Eagles Hall of Fame. He said that the Indianapolis Colts offered up to second round picks in exchange for Carson Wentz and the Eagle said no. He also said that the Eagles had not been offered a first round pick yet for their quarterback. I think the Eagles are holding out for the Matthew Stafford package. I don't think the Matthew Stafford packages coming. I don't I don't think the Matthew Stafford pack Is what Carson Wentz is worth. Think wins played so poorly this year. I also think that because the Lions organization is so bad, the shine has never really worn off. Matthew Stafford. You know, he's tough. We know he has a big arm. We know that he's ah, productive down the field passer. And we also know that the lines aren't really an organization to give you the necessary things you need. Help you win it on high level. I mean, we have 50 years of data that suggest that to be the case, I don't think the shine ever wore off. And if you go back, and you really read the reports I mean, it wasn't just the Rams that offered a first round pick for Matthew Stafford. Multiple teams offered first round picks. The Carolina Panthers offered a top 10 pick and Teddy Bridgewater. Matthew Stafford, the Broncos were willing to trade a top 10 pick Andrew Lock for Matthew Stafford. Multiple teams were in the mix for first round picks. The Lions quarterback. That's not the market that Carson Wentz has, like. The market dictates the value for the player. And I think the market is telling you that Carson wants isn't nearly as viable as you think that he is. You've got your house listed it to 50. The market's willing to give you 1 90. So either you're not selling your house or you got to drop the price. I think eventually we see the Eagles drop the price. I do think we see Carson wants end up on the Indianapolis Colts because I think the Colts makes all the sense in the world and I think their offer is more than fair. Two second round picks is what Carson Wentz is worth in exchange to pick up his contract. And the Eagle's gotta bite the bullet that you signed a bad deal. It's that simple. You're listening to the Harrison Experience Live on C. B s Sports radio coming up. We'll head to Houston to learn more about the Shawn Watson and JJ Watt. But first, let's head to an update with my guy Mike McCann..

"They haven't been penalties all playoffs. That's where bothered me about it. And now it's wait. It's four minutes left in the second quarter and the show of the game's gonna become the referees. You know, on some very ticky tack questionable calls. I thought it's just one of those moments where I'd go. That hasn't been consistent with what we've seen in the playoffs. Just let these guys play. I thought that was a little bit little bit bad. On the NFL's part. He's Chris Simms, Pro football Talk live co host. Should a trained team trade for Carson ones? Yes, well, I mean, I'll state it first to go. Carson Wentz needs to get the hell out of Philadelphia period. He? He's in a no win situation. Jalen hurts is still there. So what they brought in coaches that like you soon as you play bad, the whole city of Philadelphia is gonna go. You stink. Get the hell out of there, So he's got to go. And I do think that the Colts, Chris Ballard and company Frank Wright has history with him. I would think they have Carson Wentz towards the top of their list as far as acquiring quarterbacks. Yeah. I just don't know how much you trade for him because you are You're taking him. It's like Jared Goff. You're taking him off your hands. You're taking him off your salary cap. Right? I I was told that the Eagles were asking too much. And that's a couple of first round picks and maybe a player, but I don't know it feels like a vine the cold to the Bears. If I'm going in on Carson Wentz, why don't I go all in on this? Shawn Watson? Listen, I hear you. I think you make a good point. And what I would want to tell you, Dan is go like, Why would Chicago one Carson Wentz, Why not to me? They're They're playing with fire with wanting him to if he doesn't play good. They're just gonna go. Look, Matt, Naggy and Ryan Pace can evaluate quarterbacks. Philadelphia didn't even want this guy. Why did we bring him in here? To me. There's too much of a negative conversation about Wednesday. Want to be in Chicago and I agree with what you're saying. They gotta be careful about how much they asked the trade from one. You're right about the money situation. You're taking him off the hand because of that, and to listen, there's a negative connotation around Carson Wentz right now, So you're taking a little gamble and taking him on anyways? Because if it doesn't work out Everyone's gonna go. Philadelphia didn't want to know why the hell did you guys and that's why I could understand team saying We're not going to give up the house for Carson Wentz any chance Drew Brees doesn't retire. And if he does are, they said it quarterback? Well, I would expect Drew Brees to retire. I mean, it's an amazing career, but I think we can all see the skills of clearly diminished and it's he's listened without, you know, being shy here. He's one of the negative aspects to their team really the last few years, so I would expect him. Do not be there anymore. Now the quarterback on their team? Yes, I think that he's a believer and Taysom Hill and I think he really likes Jason. Uh, you know what this question Exact couldn't think of his damn name there. I think he liked Sean Payton likes both of those guys. So, yes, I think the quarterback of their team is on their team right now, and they'll try toe re signed Jameson Winston and free agency. Hey, thanks for coming on this football season and we appreciate your time. And what do you do now? Well, I mean, that's how I was gonna say. Why you saying goodbye to me? I mean, are you gonna call me in the quarterback? Draft of free agency? I mean, I'm kind of good at that stuff. I mean, jeez, I didn't know I just gonna toss me into the trash. This was just sort of a, you know. Hey, thank you. The season ended, but you know, we're gonna we're gonna call you I promise we'll call you all right, but I'm still in the circle of trust. We're still friends and the trust tree and all that. Yeah. All right, just long as I am with you the hell with French Sea and the rest of the girls don't care about that. I can't guarantee friend. She won't bother you. But you know, I'll try to keep it to a minimum. Okay. Thank you. Thank you. That's Christians, Pro football Talk live co host and to clarify something I said last week with Carson went I was told by the same source that told me that the Broncos had offered their first round pick Andrew Lock to the Detroit Lions for Matthew Stafford told me about that there was no interest with Carson went well. The timing of when I was told this to when I revealed it is not fair to my source because at the time Chicago and Indy were Interested in Matthew Stafford. And then I think that they got more interested in Carson Wentz when they didn't get Matthew Stafford. So in fairness to my source The timing of that was probably not fair because there is interest now, as we've seen with a lot of the insiders saying that he's going to be traded, but and I never doubted that he was going to be traded. But they said it could happen very soon. I think the concern from what I was told is that the Eagles were may be asking too much for Carson Wentz, and that's why you didn't have. This is the front burner thing for the Bears and the Colts. That's why they were looking to Matthew Stafford because they Matthew Stafford is a first round draft pick. You're done. You don't have to worry about a big salary there. He's actually a bargain. That's why those two teams were interested in Matthew Stafford. They didn't get him. Then all of a sudden they started to kick the tires on course in one so Um, for for any NFL insiders who I hurt their feelings. I apologize. I'm an NFL outsider. But this was just information that I was told so. If it happens, and he's traded very soon than I apologize. Yes, pulling my Chicago friends were calling and discussing all weekend. There is not a big desire for the Bears to acquire Carson Wentz, and I think the Bears fans think We're getting a guy that the Eagles do not want on their roster. Okay. How good could he be? And then? But then I see. Dan Orlovsky say this could be a score. You're in a guy who was at 1.1 of the highest and quarterbacks in the league as far as promised. It's very troubling, but why do you bring in Nick's Syriani from the Colts? Offensive coordinator. You think to fix Carson Wentz. But now the cold, sir interested in him and you just brought in their offensive coordinator. And at the time I thought they're bringing in the offensive coordinator to help fix Carson Wentz. Maybe that's not the case. Yes, my club. I thought they fired Doug Peterson..

"Westwood one will use on their broadcast, and she will join me to preview Sunday's game as well. And then an hour number three will get the betting side of the Super Bowl with the incomparable Brandon Ling and coming up at 5 20. But we start with what I just mentioned on the update, and that was Kareem Jackson. Going on with the TMZ sports and emitting yes to Shawn Watson is interested in coming to the Denver Broncos. But Jackson put in the caviar that it's not up to him. Can you play that? Karim? Clip, please, Matt? I could talk to the shine as much as I want. I mean, it doesn't matter. You know what I talked to him about. What I can do is it has to be something to where our friend office has to. You know, want to shine there and want to make a move on that as well. So it will be up to the front office. And this brings up the The big question. The big Harry question. Will the Denver Broncos be willing To offer what it takes. To land. Sean wants in And this coming wall That was earlier in the day, then Dan Patrick this morning As I mentioned, said that the Broncos offered the ninth pick in the draft. Andrew lock for Matthew Stafford and DP called that a pretty good run. Now. Before. And it's It's about how you phrase it. Right, because when the new when the Matthew Stafford trade went down Way it was being phrased by Bronco insiders. Is that they were Really unwilling. You give up a lot for Matthew Stafford. And it was it was framed. As well. They don't want to give up on their young core. And they want to build through the draft. And that's why a first of third Andrew lock Apparently was too much. That's that's what the reporting was coming out of Denver and now you have a national report saying that the Broncos were really trying to land Matthew Stafford. And maybe it was just the fact that they got outbid. Funny how these things work. It's the reporting as far as what the Broncos were willing to offer. Is the same. But the way that it is presented means everything. Because the way that it was reported on the day that Matthew Stafford got traded to the Rams was that the Broncos pulled out It was too rich for their blood. And they said, No, it's not worth it. We want to do things a certain way here. That's how we was presented to us. And now the reporting is the Broncos really tried. It's just that the Rams went above and beyond, to land him. And when you look at the two deals Multiple first round picks, and Jared Goff, a server serviceable, if not spectacular. Um Quarterback, Certainly not spectacular, not a franchise guy, but a capable quarterback. With all that. That's a much better pack, which then the Denver Broncos were offering. But now all of his son through Damn Patrick's reporting. Now it seems like maybe the Broncos Are a little being a little bit more aggressive. And maybe we had thought now not over the top aggressive for Matthew Stafford. Maybe they could be When it comes to do Shawn Watson because in no world is Matthew Stafford, a better quarterback, then to Shawn Watson. And maybe the Denver Broncos. Understanding. How difficult it's going to be, even if the Sean wants and wants to come to Denver. Even if that's the only team he wants to come, too. It's still going to be incredibly difficult to pull this deal off. But at least now with the reporting that damn Patrick had Maybe the Broncos Our little bit more willing To part with some assets in order to upgrade the quarterback position in a significant way, and I told you when that reporting came down. It's really weird to me. That George Payton, who gets to see Matthew Stafford twice a year for his entire career, doesn't like him. But again, this is this is people in the Denver media that are trying to make prop up the Denver Broncos like they're the smartest guys in the room instead of just saying flat out what happened? They offered a decent package. I told you the ninth overall pick to me was worth it for Matthew Stafford. The Broncos did that. They did exactly that. They said they will give you the ninth pick. And of course we'll give you drew Walk. Now I don't know how appetizing drew lock was to the lions, considering Detroit has the seventh pick and they could grab a quarterback there. With the Broncos did exactly what I said They should do. So now we're putting together the pieces of the puzzle little bit more and saying, OK? The Broncos are a little bit more aggressive. Then some people in Denver media made them out to be, but we shouldn't be surprised. I mean, that's the only reporting that we had to go on. At the time, right? I'm not a reporter. React to reporting. I rely on the terrific reporters that cover the team day in and day out and have inside sources and all this all this kind of stuff. And they were the ones that told us That would just to Too much..

"You by century Casino in Central City Experience, Warm hospitality, Great food and the hottest slots and video poker century casino. Come for the action and stay for the fun. And I just want to be on record to let you know it was 60 degrees here in Denver today. Yeah. Yeah. Make any sense. Um, uh, here in New York. We have a foot of snow. My trip to the Super Bowl was delayed. I am hoping to fly out tomorrow at 3 30. We will see if that is the case. But that is what I'm currently helping. And we know the price now for, um Matthew Stafford, two first rounders in future years in the third round this year. What's the price that you're hearing for this Shawn Watson? Oh, I mean, if there is a price and again I don't know that I don't know that they're actually gonna trade him. They have not yet decided that they would even be willing to consider trading him. So I think until that happened This is all sort of hypothetical, but you know you're talking Probably three one's pressed, plus players like that's what I would think because you know any more than that. You get too much into the future, but probably three ones, and then players and You know would take it would take a lot. I mean, this is a guy you know, It has to be the kind of package where we used infections would say, You know, we're okay, giving up a franchise quarterback because we have to take this trade package. I just don't know if anyone can actually offer enough on don't know if we're gonna find out because You know, I mean, the Texans want to make this right. They want to meet with them. They want to do everything they can. As of right now. Shawn has shown no willingness. Um, but something has to give it some point. I'm just wondering what it's gonna be. And that's interesting, because I mean, it does seem like there is a lot of posturing that is going on. I mean, the day they introduced their head coach is the day. Back to Shawn Watson again comes out publicly saying he wants out of Houston and Alfred has already said. I mean, what's that money look like Alfred. It's what, like 24 million that he could be. The $1.9 million if if he just sits out this pat this upcoming year, which is a lot of money, but not really a lot of money to a guy who looks to play at least 10 more years in this league. No, but you know, there's not a lot of president for players actually sitting out. I mean, we've talked about it before. It's been a threat, but like actually sitting out, and it's so punitive now in the C B A. I mean, it's like Holdouts are almost a thing of the past. Unless you're you know, Lady on Belle. We're not under contract. You can't get fined like it is. You know it is a massive massive decision. To sit out hard to imagine that happens, although I guess I've seen stranger things. The last guy that I can remember that did it successfully was Carson Palmer, who was in a bad organization who wanted out and got out, but it took half of the year for to happen. Um, you know this this You know the idea that you can trade for God, like the Sean watching is exciting. You know, we have the number nine pick in the NFL draft. We don't have enough. We don't We don't have enough to give Houston Texans, You know that? That's what's crazy. Like, even if we did give them three first round draft picks, they would want players and the number nine pick Andrew Lock and whatever is just sitting like it's just not enough. I mean, anything is doable, but, um, you're right. I mean, you know, it's here's the thing like the other part of this is which is a really tough part of this is Let's just say the Broncos didn't look to the Broncos. Little for To one's Jerry Judy drew lock and You know, Rally Chub. Yeah. I mean, I would be a real lot. But let's say, Brad, let's just say for the sake of argument, grandly jump. Okay, fine. So then, if you're just gonna walk, then you have a no trade clause. Are you really going to go there, knowing they've just given up all their players and draft picks to go play there? That's the hard part of this is it has to be something to where the team would be willing to take the trade, but that's a shown we're going to go there. So what place could give up enough to get to Sean lock in, but also not mortgage too much to anyone want to play there? That's why this is one of the trickiest scenarios we've really seen in a long time. And we heard that the Broncos may have been in. Although we don't know how seriously on the Matthew Stafford a taste they were kicking the tires. How serious were the Broncos? Um, serious enough for George Payne. The new general manager made phone calls and not fierce enough where they made a big push. You know, I don't even know that they officially offered, um And you know, I would say with trade talks If you're going to officially offer that means you're going to be a finalist. Probably. My guess is they got to the point where they're like our if we were going to give this in, this is that something you'd consider is that something Stafford would consider what she wanted in the That's part of the problem. She wanted to be in that way. If he really did you just wanted to wanted to be there and Um It was hard for teams like the Broncos or the Panthers in Washington to compete because when he just wants to be somewhere It's hard to change his mind. So I think the Broncos were interested, and that's what they were. George paid him like he was the guy in Minnesota. We did all their trades. He loves trades. He will be involved in every single one of them is not always going to pull the trigger. But he is going to be talking about every trade, and that's something I think phantom to get used to, and also embrace. I mean, it's you this and you said that you're going down to the Super Bowl. What will you be able to do when you get there? Nothing. By the way he wait and NFL network If he can't do nothing, there is the whole reason why we're not right. Well, I mean, so I said exactly. So, um, I have a live shot location in the convention center where I have a camera set up Boston Where? My mask obviously all the time not really allowed to walk around there. Move. Um I can eat meals. If I go out to dinner, I have to sit at the table by myself. If I otherwise just eating in my room, so basically going to the convention or doing work. Going to my room, eating some sort of take out and doing it back. Wow. I'm going to the game being on the field pregame doing our pre game show. And then watching the game. I don't know where and then going on. Are these. So Are these the same rules Super Bowl? Are these the same rules that everybody who's covering this from the media side of things have to follow in order to be there? I don't think so. I know these are our rules that NFL network I'm tested every day. Um, it's very stringent and it should be stranger. Because here's the reality like which say I wanted to go there and party Run the list of bringing back covert 19th my family. I don't want that either. Don't want to get sick myself. So It's you know, hopefully we're getting to the end of this place. But obviously it's important and these these are the rules and news or what? We're going to be here, too. What? Ian Man, It's always great to check in with you. We look forward to seeing you on the television and talking with your down line about this upcoming Super Bowl. I think it's gonna be a fantastic game between two Hall of Fame quarterbacks. Wow, I can't believe I'm saying that about a young man like Patrick Mahomes. But Enjoy yourself. But true. Thank.

"Either. He doesn't like Matthew Stafford. Or he feels like the Broncos or not just a quarterback away. Author surprising to me. Because I think Matthew Stafford on the Broncos makes the Broncos a playoff team immediately. But I don't see how you could come to any other conclusions, said Let's throw in 31 John Elway told him no To George Payton doesn't like Matthew Stafford. Or three. George Payton wants every single draft pick he can get because he feels like the Denver Broncos are not just a quarterback away release a quarterback of Matthew Stafford's talent. Now we know that there is another quarterback available. That is better than Matthew Stafford. But I asked the question if Two first round picks. Or even not even that, if a first of third Andrew lock Is too much for Matthew Stafford. And the justification for that is the Broncos don't want to give up on their young core. And they want to build this thing through the draft. How in the world are they even going to come close to offering enough for two Shaun wants in. The only way I see they make this deal, and I thought it was a long shot to begin with. But the only way I see them making this deal Is if cream Jackson Comes through. Maybe you've seen on Twitter over the weekend, Kareem Jackson says. Something to the effect of I hear all of you on tour and I'm trying Cream. Jackson to Shawn wants unused to be teammates in Houston. So Kareem Jackson clearly Without specifically mentioning Shawn Watson. Is basically saying I'm recruiting him. I'm trying to convince him that Denver is the place he wants to be. And even then, let's say that Kareem Jackson comes through for the Denver Broncos. Well, one. The Broncos can't cut him and he was somebody that I thought was going to be on the chopping block. That's first of all. But second If Shawn wants in suddenly preferred the Broncos over everyone else, The Broncos would still have to fork over a ton of draft capital in order to land to Shawn wants in How willing is George Payton? To give up that Draft capital one First round pick. Was too much.

"Good evening, man. How are you? I'm doing good guys. Jellison on mobile with you. But next year, right next year, everything returns to normal is the hope, right? That is that is certainly the hope. But you know, we're talking about this earlier in the show. And there's nothing really usual about what's getting ready to happen this off season with free agency. Obviously with the draft. We've been talking about that all week about how different is going to be this year? But in light of the Shawn Watson News in light of what's going on with Matt Stafford, I'm I want to start there. I'm just gonna start with this. This quarterback carousel that we're sort of getting readyto be prepared for in free agency. Where do you think the Broncos landing this? I think that they're going to do their due diligence, right? That's just too George Payton is he's not gonna let a pitch sailed by without taking a swing, but I don't know if they're trying to hit home runs. Certainly with Matt Stafford to use, I've said a couple of baseball analogies and so Isn't my guess. I don't see my understanding is my guest. They probably already called on Detroit just to see what the asking prices are the starting price. I'm guessing if I defy the lay money on it. At any of our favorite gambling, APS or or anywhere else I would put the culture in Washington ahead of the Broncos is not even a couple other teams that John Watson's a different conversations. Different player two different age. Was gonna cost a lot more. And I know Ben's pointed out What the Jamal Adam's trade costs and s. Oh, well, it's not always apples, apples. And when you have Ah, team that is being forced to sell, then maybe they want to take something back that you otherwise wouldn't think they might be. At the same time Watson being able to sort of dictate where he goes. I pointed this out on Twitter this morning like a Broncos country. Just cause you want him in Denver and you love Denver, and we know how great Denver is, and the Shawn Watson might not even disagree. He may really want to go to New York or Miami or Atlanta since he grew up in Georgia or somewhere else, Chicago because he wants to Hey, go play with that Great bears organization. I don't think that would be high on his list. But you never know S O. I think that there's people in that building that probably would say to Sean Watson is worth quote unquote mortgaging your future. And I think you're looking at at least three number ones right this year in the next two, because you can't trade beyond that, plus a player too, and some other picks. But if you think your rosters in a good place, and I think in a lot of respects, it is that he might be worth it. So I don't know if he'll ever get to the point where, though fully make a formal offer and try to pull the trigger, and so you think it Watson interested in Denver. But I imagine when he takes a step back if Denver does really get into the mix, and he says, wait, I came through the portal in sudden and very judy and cagey handler and no offense. Well, maybe numbers, not such a terrible place. But I will have to deal with Justin Herbert and Patrick Moms in my division twice here. Nonetheless, I don't think John Watson's wired Back down from a challenge. That just will be certainly more of a challenge here than in other divisions. Well, yeah, I think that you know is certain other teams probably have A little bit easier path toward the acquisition. They're just based on the assets that they have available to move. You look at the Broncos, and while they do have some they could move draftniks, etcetera. The problem sort of becomes because this offense is so young here in about two years you're going to have everybody do for contracts. Courtland sudden no fan of the following year be Judy and you don't have it all this stuff. And it presents a problem when you've already got a log jam it quarterback you've already you're not on a rookie window and you to pay everybody and you're not gonna be able to pay everybody. Oh, by the way, you're trying to keep a defense intact and you didn't have the draft picks to be able to replenish and leverage any of those guys, you know, it's it's sort of creates a problem. That's the thing of guess I've tried toe make clear what the dish on Watson, you know potential there is that it seems like you created out of the frying pan into the fire situation unless you win in those first two seasons. Yeah, that window. That window's tight, t your point. I think we're gonna see that. And Broncos fans will want to hear this with the Chiefs and you know, I talkto our palace from 6 10, Bob Tesco and Josh Clean where Joshua Sideline reporter one of last week. Before they have the title game on the Broncos daily podcast said. This is likely the best chief steam that Patrick Holmes is ever gonna play on again. And I know that you know there's a little hyperbole there, but they've still got everything intact. They're going without their tackles. And maybe next week get into what That'll mean against a good pass rush with the bus, But their point is, it's like Bill is his youngest. He's ever going to be Kelsey's 31. The online has been good, and you know those tackles notwithstanding, Chris Jones and the whatever it is first year of that deal, Tyron Matthews still around. That's not going tol stay like that, right? They've had a lot of money to Hitchens. For some reason, I don't really see it. And I didn't realize his contract was so big. But point is the chief sir in this window now where Patrick is still Kind of on the cheaper part of that deal that Z is going to change. He's gonna continue to get more and more the cap and not that he's not worth it. But the pieces around him will fall off. So your point about where Watson is financially it. The Broncos could afford it this year. But in coming years it'll be a challenge. You're going to make our decisions you have to say well, We took care, Judy the first round we love Courtland. Suddenly we just can't afford to pay And I don't think I say that. I think we'll try to figure it out all these pieces on defense, right? If you wanted to extend von Miller, you trade for discount. Lawson. You're probably not even seeing von Miller back this year, let alone Multiple years and guys like Kareem Jackson. And who knows? Maybe Justine Simons suffers. I don't think all that's gonna happen. But as we're talking through it, it is that idea of mortgaging the future. So this plane people that'll tell you and I'm one of them that John Watson, the better quarterback, Andrew lock. In fact, you'd be hard pressed to find people, including Drew locker would even tell you right now that Shawn wants is not better. I just think Broncos fans were getting excited about Stafford or Watson. Stafford will cost you as much of a cost you something will affect your cap here, and.

"I heard Radio AP poll Question For today all about the inauguration of the 46, president of the United States. What is your level of excitement? For Joe Biden taken over as president. Excited beyond belief. Wait and see. This is bumming me out. You can vote at Kaylie, Colorado can also in our text line of 566. I know Early results are Kouf This is a very tight pull one of the tightest that we've ever had We already up over 100 votes, and right now there is a tie between excited beyond belief. And this is bumming me out each have 34.3% and then in second place, wait and see as 31.4%. So this is a very, very title. Okay, You continue to vote over the next 24 hours, and we'll know what the Winner of the poll. Question is tomorrow. Do we know how the poll results ended yesterday, Kouf? We do not. But I could look that up s O. Coover normally would be on the other side of the glass eye being able to handle all these sorts of things, but now he's also over there, pushing the buttons at the same time. We got a boy be large, who's standing behind him? He's kind of been following along to see how exactly complicated it is dealing with us on the other side of this glass of which could be a challenge. What was the poll question yesterday? Yesterday's poll. Of course we had George Payton on yesterday. The new Broncos GM And it's surrounded him and his decision coming up If you were George Payton, would you trade three first round draft picks? Andrew Lock for two Shawn Watson and we had a ton of oats and yes, came out on top. It's 63.7%. No, was 36.3%. I'm going to say this right now. We have an intelligent audience that rolls with us that votes on those poles. Because let me tell you something. There's nothing like settling your franchise quarterback position once a quarterback knows how to play. You can depend on that guy for at least 10 years. I mean, 10 years of stability at that position, and you don't have to even worry about it anymore, so Um, I agree that if that was offered up, that would be a good exchange. And here's what's interesting about it. Because I've been keeping my ear to the ground. A little bit is damn quiet. But when it's quiet like this, it does tell me that there's probably some stuff that's going on in the background. And I don't mean with the Denver Broncos. I mean in general. It's gotten pretty quiet. But here's what I can tell you. I just talked to a buddy of mine who does a show down there in Houston. Uh, who told me today? That, um Shawn Watson has said even if Eric the enemy Is hired his head coach. He's still going to need some time to think about. The front office and what's going on there? So I mean, this thing is, I mean right now, from all accounts, the New York Jets Um, Miami Dolphins. Those two franchises are in the hunt. But here's one that I heard that I thought was really good. Well, did you see that The Broncos were like 13 Odds Hold hold on 30. And I'd like to be in this equation. But this is the one I heard that I thought was the best. Urban Meyer as the number one overall pick. The number one overall pick. Do you want this Shawn Watson or some unknown commodity? No. You would want You would want to show Watson do you? Do you want the unknown commodity? That's you know, in trouble lines. Um, who's widely accepted as the number one overall pick. And two number. Just call it too. Number ones from the Jacksonville Jaguars two number twos from the Jacksonville Jaguars. And they get the John Shawn Watson. You like that trade? Yeah. Ah, lot. That's a great trade. That is a really good trade. Well, that immediately makes it Um Because you don't again The unknown commodity is still you just don't know And you don't know if you've got the right personnel around how that quarterback's gonna perform at that level. So there's a bunch of questions that Are still going to be unanswered until you answer that one. You put a bonified starting QB one in that questions answered. You also know how he plays. So therefore, you know, if you've got the personnel or now you could build around what you need to do around a guy like that. So I would say, get that by the way, That's way too smart. It's never gonna happen, E. Do you know what I'm saying? That's way too smart to say we're gonna have There's a lot of maybe it's quiet around here now that, uh George Payton has been introduced. But I'm just letting you know, man. They're gonna be a ton of bids for the services of the Shawn Watch in the Bronco should be involved. I'm just letting you know the Broncos should be involved. And I don't think that number nine pick And you know, we would have to give up three number ones. The three first round draft picks in three second round draft picks. I mean, that's a lot, and that's by the way in for Brandy general manager that has been highly successful building the team through the draft. Those things carry a lot more value to a guy like that, then they made to others. If your legacy is leaving the team in good standing and in good order, Let's just say George Payton has his job for six years. Let's just say there's a ownership change. Okay, let's just say that That's a possibility and we haven't ownership change and we have the Shawn Watson and we have a new direction for the entire franchise. Uh, what's what's the issue what we're talking about here? I mean, what are we talking about here? I mean, we're talking about an unprecedented time in the NFL What we have to NFL franchises that don't have A new owner for say, Now we understand the Green Bay Packers is owned by the public city of Green, right? Well, just the fans, the fans. But two NFL teams are like What the Broncos are in. It's the Broncos and the Titans, where they don't have a single head of the Um, organization to say yes, I know. Because You know the Titans with the Adams family and the Broncos with the bowling family. They haven't come together and said, This is the person that's gonna lead so the NFL is saying it's time now. So I looked for a movement. I look for movement on both franchises in the next year. I agree. I think I think is, you know the NFL came out last year and said that You know, said as much way have to get this resolved. It's been going on way too long. So If you're the new owner, Would.

"If we did one of those for The athletes that I mentioned on this program. Drew lock would be the biggest name. Because let's be honest, the starting quarterback. The franchise quarterback. In any NFL city. Any state with an NFL team. Is the most talked about athletes. And when you throw on top of it The years. Where John Elway has the years John Elway has wasted for this organization continually missing on this position. And then finally, at the end of 2019 we see This walk, kid. We see him Go Foreign one. And there's a lot of discussion, but I think There's nothing that you saw at the end of last year. That would make you feel like Oh, well, definitely walks, not the guy. Right. There's nothing you saw. It was a few games. And you saw a lot of positive. What you expected there to be in an improvement. And there hasn't been As much as Vic Fangio, Andrew Lock and Pat Shurmur and John Elway and Broncos blog's Want to tell you Drew locks. Has a slightly better third down percentage. Converts a couple more. Or downs than he did last year. Overall, you have to look at Drew lock in the year 2020. Which is completed by the way because the next game he plays is in 2021. And we see regression. We see the same mistakes being repeated over and over again and today. You had Had Shermer talk about Drew locking the interceptions and how those have to be cut down. So while last year it was a question With a tone of of hopefulness. Drew lock at the end of last year was certainly The first quarterback, and while that made you actually feel a little bit warm and fuzzy about the Broncos Right. Trevor Simeon never made you feel good about them. Brock Osweiler the second time around. Never did that. Paxton Lynch never did that case. Keenum never did that. Sure, there was a little bit of optimism when he first signed. By the end of the year. You didn't feel optimistic. Why end of last year For the first time since the Super Bowl, you felt Optimistic about the direction of the Denver Broncos, and then this season happened. Injuries. Including a catastrophic one to the in many ways the face of the franchise in Von Miller just days before the season started. And that would continue to be a theme. And it's fitting that now you have another one of the Broncos best players and Shelby Harris being placed on IR. He will not finish the season. Fewer wins or In the year 2020 then in 2019. Many Mork questions than answers. In the world of the Denver Broncos..

"Liz Merrill is a senior writer for ESPN. So we're doing a package on one one hit wonders. And he editors thought who'd be better to sort of headline this but Jonas Gray story it's been about five five years. Since his breakout game. It was November sixteenth. Two thousand fourteen. What happened on that day? New England would've gone through one of those September's which everyone in Britain them off. You know they've lost that Miami in the opening game and then they went to Kansas City and just got clobbered and then to patriots form. They rattled off five wins. And they're back to their dominating cells. Broody leads US Patriots into town to the Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday night. Football how Michael Smith game was a Sunday night football game and it was a highly anticipated anticipated game because it was a rematch of that year's divisional round game tonight. It's Andrew Lock Against Tom. Brady get your calculators out. There should be really default to rescue teams. Both come off by weeks. There's a cave named Jewish graves is making star back to the ground. This this is Jonas Gray Gray to the thirty yard line. You know. It's amazing what nobody knew was except for people in very inner struggles of New England And he actually had a really impressive training camp and Bella check had told him. You know you're so close to making the roster oster but they didn't activate them until mid October when Steven Ridley towards ACL this guy he wasn't uh-huh regular starter at Notre Dame. He was on the practice squad until three weeks ago. So his mom and his brother drove about three hundred miles from mm-hmm where they lived outside of Detroit. The Game Jonas at the time was living in a one bedroom apartment and this modest area outside of Boston Austin on the very bare bones and the only tickets. He could really sport. His family. He pushes to the end zone. Owed go to spray has a touchdown patriots. He's scores his first touchdown and his mom is like okay. I'll clap. I'm I'm pretty exciting. This is so awesome. So she's Kinda cool about it in cash and then you know he's course again and then we. He scores his third touchdown. I get the great lowers the coders running. It was more a touchdown his she drops to a knee in like complete. You know amazement and just so older well that you know for kids. It's finally getting a chance. And then Jonas Gray Mix Histories Iowa thing for two hundred one yards and four touchdowns give give the pig right. He runs a lot he for the Patriots. Schoolyard can't stop. Stop it so Jonas Gray erupts. He has this once in a lifetime. Performance how does he react. After the game he'd reaction was pretty wide. I I mean I think that's one of the things that made the story so endearing it because he was just like holy cow. Here's Glock like celebrating Alabama with me. Here's Tom Brady headbutting. Me All the stuff that you see in the movies really you know the thing you know. act like he's been there I mean and he did act like you've been there but inside he was completely awash. You know in all of the surprise and the joy and there was sort of that moment where from Michelle Foia talks to him. They had the traditional interview with the Star of the game. Let's turn to John Ray. Yeah Guy who didn't hear his name before you're going to be hearing it a lot. We heard it many times tonight and he's doing nervous. I mean there's a guy who graduated with a degree in English and he did stand up comedy already in college. So you know. She knew his way around the microphone but she didn't know what he's GonNa say touchdowns the first four of your NFL career on at this stage had explain this performance. I'm just blessed. Blessed beyond belief we put together a great game plan. They hammered in all week. She watched this for so long. Keep Watch Tom Brady. And GRONK and company and Julia Nettleton on TV. It was just one of those things where you just couldn't believe all this is happening. Someone one of those guys men are probably go home tonight and get back. I'll probably just lay in bed. Andrew Luck's Retirement Highlights the NFL's Growing Problem

"Know what it wasn't long ago. I think it was last week when two weeks ago when mclovin said hey how about this poll question is andrew lock more likely to be an slight disappointment or hall of famer and this is when the ankle injury came. I remember it was the calf and then the owner robert say said i think it's an ankle and then i started to think there's more involved in this. There's more to this story. Sorry ben just glynn from the calf to a high ankle. I don't even i still don't know what he has but we know it serious enough that he announced his retirement and everybody's got an opinion on this. His decision to retire was a shock to the system for you know the the entire n._f._l. Nation when people say boy oy this is the most shocking football story we've ever heard i mean like new. No no no no how about we start with o._j. Simpson michael vick aaron hernandez. Those are shocking stories. Andrew looks different cat all right he is. He went back to college to get his degree. He could have left after his junior year. He went back to get his degree in architectural design. I believe he there are guys who are or football players and then there guys who play football most our football players j._j. Watt is a football player. Should he still be playing football. No no not at all but it andrew luck is a guy who is a guy who was good at playing football. I don't know if he's a a football guy and there's a difference in that but that doesn't mean he wasn't good at it or didn't love it. I just think that we're we're so unfamiliar. Oh you're with an athlete who uses logic where you go. What are you doing. Most football players in pauley had the analogy. Let's say you have a rock rock in your shoe. Most football players will continue to play in fact. Stop down on the rock. Where is andrew luck goes. How about. I just take the rock in my shoe. I mean it sounds logical. He just took the rock out of a shoe. Football players will tie the shoe differently like they'll somehow find a way. Hey i'll walk differently who care i'll take madison. Shoot me up. Whatever andrew lucked just said. I'm gonna take the the pebble <music> out. He's removing football from his life. Everybody has an opinion on this and when he started rattle off the list of injuries it makes a lot of sense but it's hard for us to imagine and by the way athletes are just commodities. We've moved on from all of these athletes. We don't care really don't care eric. Dickerson joined us in los angeles when we were out there and here's one of the great running backs of all time any looked great. I said the kind you look like you could give me a couple of carries. He said people don't realize the toll that this takes on goes. I slept in a reclining chair for two years because i had neck and back injuries. Nobody cares about eric dickerson's injuries. Nobody cared about jim. Mcmahon's injury his health. He thought about killing himself. We move on and andrew luck realizes that and yes he got paid paid and the reason for people to be upset and how do you do this to your team. And how do you quit on your team. I understand those emotions. I really do but i have to look at this and say andrew. Luck did what andrew luck thought he needed to do. Is it inexcusable to you know oh colts fans. Yeah i get that. I don't think he's saying boy. Watch what i'm gonna do. I'm going to set up the colts for failure now. I don't think i think that he had to process this. It took a long time. It's something you do you do well. It's your identity and maybe he doesn't want that is his identity and can you get away from this. You know the guys who had all the surgeries. I'm seeing all of this stuff here. Everybody's saying how do you do. I understand all of those emotions. Russians here but andrew lock did what andrew lucked thought he needed to do. If barry sanders was a quarterback and he walked away we would have abba bigger issue with what barry sanders did at age thirty-one calvin johnson at aged thirty. Jim brown age thirty. What are you doing walking away from the sport. Guess you've got a contract extension. There are a lot of questions. I have ranted you luck in this situation. When did you really know and when did you let the cold snow and what is the reason. Is there more surgery down. The road like you went through shoulder. You had and i put some of this on the colts by the way ryan grigson in particular the former g._m. What did i say for years. You have this investment. It's like having this unbelievable engine but then you have a car that's falling apart. You traded for trent richardson. You didn't use any lyman you finally went out and got quinton nelson and what happened. Andrew luck had the best season of his career. He had the fewest sacks. It's not something that takes a whole lot of thought. Hey how about we have a good offensive line. Chances are andrew. Luck might be able to play play a little bit longer but so many injuries and then you start to get down on yourself and you get in your head and you don't wanna go through it and and i look i couldn't play the game. I've told you if you ever watched a game on the sidelines. You never let your kids play. It is violent. It's more violent than you think because when you hear it you can close your eyes on the sidelines just listen. There's no way you go yep. I want to play play. I know we're macho. I know we all wanna play through pain. I did stupid things with my knee and my shoulder waited thirty five the years to get my torn rotator and i'm not even a pro athlete. I have an artificial knee because i was stupid when i played this guys out there and they're taking shots at him. He's getting hit lacerated kidney. He's got shoulder. He's got yeah. I understand all of these injuries. Do we want him out there. Yes because it's about us he. What are you doing to my fantasy team. Hey what you doing to my colds. You're you guys got a chance to. I understand hold loose things but this is something that we don't understand an athlete who says i'm gonna take a logical approach. He's a guy he's got a flip phone. He's got a book club. I mean he he's not your normal guy. Hi and we can't understand this. He's newly married. We can't understand this because all of us would go. I killed a play and make that kind of money and be a starting starting quite yes. This story is about us in how we perceive. This people didn't play wanna tell you they would play or how oh you need to play or. What's wrong with your your soft. You gotta take a step back and andrew luck. Doing i see all of this twitter chatter. Oh this is going to stay with him forever. I is very sanders. A quitter calvin johnson a quitter. Is jim brown a quitter right i. I haven't heard that i'd never heard somebody say. Jim brown's a quitter. Barry sanders quit walked down on the <hes> the lines how can you do. I guess andrew luck is a quitter but i'm guessing will move past this calvin johnson. Is he a quitter or see smart. I don't know i just i saw this reaction this vitriol that andrew luck how dare you do for this. He walked away from his team. I get i get it. He gave up on a sport. He excels at but no matter what people say. I think we can all agree. Andrew luck was outstanding when he did play and wishing luck and no pun intended with his life after football.

"Of things you face. Andrew luck this week. And I know you've seen film on Andrew. I love. Andrew lock I think life a lot of times is do you get support? Nobody can do it alone in life. Nobody no player. Michael, jordan. Yeah. Not in football, by the way, Michael Jordan needed Scottie Pippen and Phil Jackson too. And I look at Andrew lock in those first few years, man. He didn't have an align. He didn't have a running game. Now, he has both Logan Ryan when you look at the film of Andrew luck. What do you see what jumps out to you? Because this is the biggest titans game in the regular season. Logan. I can remember in years. What do you see? I see that he's healthy. I mean, he's doing the ball. Like Andrew lucked does and early in his career when he was healthy and has some protection he was MVP candidate. So that's what it is the last games. He hasn't. He hasn't got saying. I mean, that's the key. If you give any quarterback or especially a good one some time in this lead. They can pick you apart. I mean, I I tip my hand. I think that we have the best cover guys NFL. I think we're the best secondary. I think we can match up with anybody man to man with our three corners and our Tuesday fifties. But if you give anybody time, you can't cover them forever. So we have to find a way to disrupt his timing it and then offense align make him uncomfortable. Similar to what we did last week. We just had to really make comfortable back there and allow our coverage in our in our in our rush to the Matt mareo, I think that's the key. You

"A few more days of practice Head of them still and the latest is Anthony Costanzo and the way that coach. Reich kinda describes the injury to Costanzo is Oh it he had it and he's got it back and he's gonna There's. Gonna be some rest right he's gonna. Need a little bit of time. It's as vague as. Anything, out. There I'm wondering about Costanza 's future tell me I'm wrong Yeah Tony I I don't know about in terms of long term but I think. It's something to monitor the, rest? Of the that it'd be the first injured. Hamstring about two weeks before training camp. Started and then re tweaked it. During Friday night practice It's. Been really really durable NFL career he's only miss three games, maybe since his rookie season it's eleven and he looked, at positions on the colts. Roster and talk about depth I think left tackle might be, the most bear and unproven position on the roster so Dongo's bend your left tackle for the last seven years and he's going to miss a little bit of. Time, and, that, is very vague and maybe he doesn't play the, rest of the pre season but you would think just a tweaking of a hamstring he would be able to go by the regular season opens up here in a little over a month So you don't see it as a serious thing when you take a, look at the injuries that he had last year No, he was hoping last year two years ago think or maybe even the year before that when he was heard so I I don't. Think it's anything to fret over long term why. This is a guy that has been extremely extremely durable in bell career That guy wanting the, blind side of you know Through that awful twenty eleven so you end up through Angeles early. Years in these past couple of years as well I don't think it's anything that. It's a reoccurring injury that happened for several years maybe came back a little bit too soon, from that hamstring injury and and he openly. Admitted he kinda. Over trained in the off season so rest stuff you don't. Need a Santa Costanza in the month of August you need to see some of these other guys play left tackle in case this does become a lingering issue talking to. Kevin Bowen from ten seventy the fan dot com that's where you go to get all of. His latest on what's going on a training camp one of the things I noted is that when it comes to running back where, a little bit, of everywhere and nowhere on here we've, got MAC I think people are happy with him. But you, need a, little bit of that day Angela shoulder maybe better, but he still needs to hand off the ball who is he handing off to and, what are we seeing a lot of young guys Tony with Robert Turbin suspended for the first, four games James Andrew lock arguably I think the top three running back to the roster none, of them have, played with lock when you talk about, Marlin MAC going into the second season the mid. Rookies and, I am, highs and Jordan Wilkins as well and Jim Irsay, had quite hyperbole on Friday night saying that he thinks Marlee Matlin rush for fifteen hundred, yards this season I don't know if anyone in for Is He has his, bell Donald Trump of, sports just don't let them tweet Did he tweet which one was it he said it yeah. Said that we have three hundred and fifty yards rushing all last year so that's that's quite the jump for the second year back and especially. On the colts have said they want to be running back by committee so I think there are some young pieces to work with with MAC and what Jordan Wilkins the fifth round pick, out of night's camp, and I kind of bored More of a hybrid player probably help you out on special teams maybe a wide out as well so that's really really. Unproven and when roster cuts happen and the end of August you know you might be a decision that you look for more of a, more of a veteran objects I. Do think there, is something. To work with their but if the group they just, hasn't proved, themselves on the NFL level quite yet as you see it so far as in training camp Who is the player that we should be looking at and who's the player who you think is causing the most concern But I. Think a player that's really, surprises then the Niko Autry new defensive lineman signed from Oakland this past season. Back in March, I think one of the I think it was the first free, agent signing, McColl patio in, twenty eighteen and you know when you're talking about quit Nelson and how dominant the rookies ban, you know in full pads the guy that have occasionally been Autry and. The colts need some help with this new four three Friday and, Autry I think could be kind of a nice surprise I. Think that a guy that you feel, good about concern standpoint I'd probably go back into the secondary and go Quincy Wilson the second round pick some last year Who figure to be. Maybe the number one cornerback a corner in. General I think as a physician group that hasn't had a lot of play making here. In the first couple of, weeks at grand park and they're rotating a lot of bodies there doesn't look. Like many documents, in terms of starters and that group so they need Quincy Wilson, to a, merge because you, spent a second round pick on them you know we know full well how valuable corners are, today that I Sal and the colts just don't have a lot to. Work with with that you know kind of really a it's of, your top four corners I would say three of them are..
