"We're back. Thank you sponsor so. Toxic fandom is a big topic right now I feel like fake girl. The tide is turning where most people are like. That's nonsense it doesn't exist. There's definitely still angry men who are pointing at any sexy lady that walks by but I feel like now there's women are pointing them Right so I think I think the tide is turning slowly ever so slowly toxic fandom has been in the news a lot and it just the fact that its influence these companies to change their policies says a lot so. I wasn't able to find. I always want to end on a hopeful note. Here's what you can do well. I couldn't find too much but I did see in your feed commute Our Block and or report toxic fans and your feeds. There's a debate around just muting versus actually reporting because they know remove it from all of your followers feeds so perhaps future episode on that one. Youtuber. Al Be in Wonderland. There is no such thing as a fakey girl. There are only girls who are different varying levels of falling in love with something that the society generically considers to fall under the nerd culture category. So the fakey. What's a good costume? Actually being a fake being a real fake Geico do that. I don't know you you just as the me. Oh you got some kind of clever helping later right I dress up as a generic enemy girl. I think that's what it was. My by character was generic Asian. And Macaire I was wearing a schoolgirl uniform That was just for one event. I ever do it again. I'll never do it again because I actually busted tires and had to go to the varsity way on someone to help me change tired in that cost to you. Oh Man on a day. That wasn't dragon con nor was it. Halloween is someone's birthday party. Who Loved Ryan? Kaufman had their birthday party at trader Vic's and so they asked us to dress up and I did it because it was their birthday. I would like that to be known. Okay you're doing it for a friend. I understand. I won't make there's no pictures. I've often felt that way. I guess are hopeful note. I just want to once again. Reiterate sharing is what makes Phantom beautiful. What helps it grow and thrive and become better not shutting out a fan like a phantom that you'd never allowed to change you never allow New People in we'll die right and so much fun because like I said I get caught onto your excitement. The reason I haven't watched and I've seen it before the winter soldiers because I know how much you love it so I know it was going to even better watching it with you and that's why I'm like. This is fun even though like I like it ally and I watched it a lot but I don't like I'm not all into it as you are that you have a costume that you keep fixing up and making better each year. The arm four point. Oh Yeah But like that's the thing is it true fandom? If you're a true fan you would want other people to understand it to an varying levels Just the fact that you're willing to watch the movie that's all I. I wish we had video footage of that time. You read the list of best marble movies and your reaction from worse to best and as it gets further and further in the winter. Soldier hasn't been announced yet number one number one and then it was number one. This is turning into the winter soldier. Podcast I apologize is fed but I hope that I hope that we can make it a better place. A safer place for everyone. Yes and we would love for you listeners. "Look back at a legacy hers. Right I spend well, put us. Yeah I agree I think we talk about on this show a lot power of seeing yourself somewhere and how much that can impact you especially when you're young? Child if you don't see anybody that looks like you, then you kind of think all that must not be for me right so I'm glad that we have people like this. We have our female I. that are s being examples and being mentors Oh. Yeah, and female I I wanted to shout out a couple of other people because I know. I mentioned in the beginning that she was the first licensed black architect in the US, so the first black architect period to become a member of the was Paul Revere Williams in Nineteen twenty-three. And before Norma, there were Beverly Lorraine Green and Georgia. Louis Harris Brown and they were also thought to be licensed as architects in nineteen, forty to nineteen, forty, nine, respectively in both of them were registered in Illinois, and so both of their stories are interesting as well and I felt like. We talked about this a lot in I and how there is. Is a path for a person to get to a I. There were so many other hands involved especially when it comes to inventions, right and stuff like that that a person's I wasn't isolated and also continuing to put into perspective and context why I is important in terms of like well, other people had access, and there weren't barriers for them necessarily but. "Spending for a newsletter on if you sign up for our newsletter. Then you probably also get a little bit more information about the other crazy things. So that in you notified about the presale. And then I think the other thing is for folks that are listening that might not know what they wanna do or they might be down on themselves about in mating out, finishing school or not chilling like they know what they wanna do with their lives. They're not having direction. There was a law of time where I felt like I had no idea where I was going, and I, I didn't have any direction, and I'm definitely perfectionist. And I hated that. I, I felt like it made him let the person and I know that the entire own most of my life in, especially in the first year and all the way up until now I still experience imposter syndrome by crazy, like this, this inability to understand how powerful I can be and how much how much experience I've already gone. In, you know, in the last two decades, and I don't give myself in credit on a daily basis, and particularly as being we do that charge dog. So if people that don't feel like they're enough, you definitely are. And it's it's there it's about it's about getting to that point. And, and realizing your dream and absolutely not giving up, just don't give up and don't stay quiet. They believe in something 'cause I didn't. And I never thought that we get here, but we did, and we're still going and put a Saint. Yeah. Yeah, absolutely. We, we talk about that all the time. Yeah. And I know for some people they hear it. And they're, they're you're when you're in that, like low place in just think. No, I don't need. Someone else telling me that I have to keep trying. But it's true. It's true. It is also like like in the. Before I did before I founded the company like there were months at a time where I would cry on a daily basis literally on a daily basis. There were people that basically told me. Oh, you. That's a cute idea when I talked to him about my business plan, I like Hewlett ending eat a dick. Right. Right Ayman once again. So. And it's it's it's not easy. It's never in. It doesn't get easier. I'm really honest. But it does become more and more and more rewarding. And it and I, I've always felt like I've purpose but today I feel like I have more purpose, and I think definitely have more like to deal with and definitely the impostor syndrome doesn't go away doesn't get easier. But it sure is. How was rewarding? There you go beautiful. There you go. We're we've been so excited to have you. And we should say this isn't a sponsored episode. We're just fans. Right. And we also think it's important to discuss like we've been talking a lot about female pleasure lately and how it so demon. Yeah. Yeah. So, yeah, not a sponsored episode. Just no fist pans. Yeah. Waiting list somewhere. So I can find that I'm not gonna lie filling and like we've got we've got talked to her. We've gotta talk to I, I need to know gonna come out. I'm excited. Maybe unlike on a rampage this morning too. I'm just like our and our on all the issues, so love it. Good fit. Yes. Samantha always gives away her scheme on air. I don't do don't I always give away your, your plan your master playing live, not a good. Like this is for anyone. Because you're already gonna know how that's the perfect nemesis. So I know you gave the website is there any other place you want to shout out where people can find you or any other resources or anything like that. Yeah. I mean more on social media and grisly. I were Girling really Suster to really pleased besets under the during a marketing meeting. It was like holy moly. Really great. But you can find us on Instagram ends on Twitter at Laura decarlo, again the. L O, R, A D, I see a are L, O underscore, H Q, and you can find personally linked to both in, in my life thing had probably actually going to change my name too early because people are really confused about it anybody but. People are calling miss dicarlo with. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And we're all going base, so, yeah, coming coming and find those because we do have some pretty funny that we put up in, and we talk about under that the hard issue. So, and I like I said, I've got a great social media team that were were putting together. Our digital marketing team is is pretty amazing. Well, so Dave, always got really great content just like yet arms in the year. Lease so awesome. Well. That sounds fun. Yeah. To be on name. Yeah. Well, hey sorry. "Tender. Yeah. That's that's something that I. I had to come up with this like a year long plan of what I bake. Liz, I yeah. And I had I every month they picked out a movie, and of course, they're all Harvey's. I'll probably have to change that. That's not everyone's thing. Right. I love hormones you not bonded over this. Although one of the suggestions that you gave me was awful. I wasn't just me gave you is. It wasn't just you. But the two you brought it up as being one of your favorites or one of the most shocking. Boesch shocking. I stand by. It was awful. And I was so angry when I was watching the entire thing. Well, can't win all the time. But it stayed with you. Yeah. For sure I'm haunted forever. And it kinda does play that whole like crazy girl. You know, what I mean because she was like for y'all who are maybe like what is called the audition and its Japanese right? Of course, I'm telling you what those Japanese horror films, really get you. Yeah. Good. But it was also what Russian Harvey's pretty. I've seen to me Russian suggestions for you. Anyway, this is something else. We would love for people right in. I do. Have very specific taste happened to criticize before, but I like, I don't have an experience with Ron comes. I don't those eighties movies. I. Romm calm. So I got you. Yeah. So I am cheesy. Well, yeah. Get cheesy. We wanna make sure all the interest. Yeah. Represented, but we also want to pick ones that. We can talk about the the the feminists too feminist lens like where I was his communicate. Right. So helpfully will all be negative. No, I said before on here. Like, I'm someone I feel like you can appreciate something in recognize the the poor the message is that sending that are not great. Right. I mean, because like, I know we definitely watched lane Tarantino movies because I've got some fears female characters there's a lot of to hear out about the reading of the movie. Oh, yeah. Anyway, we we would love for for you listeners to help us shape shape this. Yeah. I'm all about suggestions. Because half the things that we may be talking about we don't or what we would like to talk about. We don't know is subject for me. Some of those things I'm like, oh, we should definitely a conversation about this because it doesn't necessarily, you know, we have two perspectives and one of those multi multi multi multi perspectives that we're not hitting so would love to hear more on. I know we talked about. There was a listener who wanted to talk about what it is to be in between or normal size. I guess where you're not any. But neither are you thick and big boned a plus size. And what does that mean in society that recognizes I you know, one or the other and we wanted to talk about that with that what we talk about. What does healthy look like we talked about sexuality of really excited about that one. Do one talk about policies that are happening in Georgia. Today's a pretty significant day with our governor possibly signing into the heartbeat abortion law and was passed. Unfortunately, I mean, that's just my opinion stuff like that. We definitely want to talk to and we talked about the fact that there last miniseries was very intense. And we understand that for a lot of people are like why are you getting so into this? You're talking about mental health ally. You're talking about trauma. Yeah. You. I don't really know. About this topic. And I think that's that's understandable. Once again, we got called the loss girls in the minds of the loss. And you know, that's also understand -able. And we want to bring in as many interesting, and if we can find even more light hearted. But some of our stuff is going to be intense. That's kind of who I am. Yeah. Just to go ahead. Throw it out there. I've always been called intense. I'm a libra all about I'm all about Justice Allen is actually very true to me. Okay. Yeah. I like the balance I like a quality. I am all about fairness. I get really upset. Yes. Yes. If something is not fair. So that doesn't make sense. It doesn't make sense to me. I can't like balance it out. So that's kind of who I am. And I think like I said the next few episodes were hoping to keep it. Little more neutral when it comes to feminism. How do you not get passionate? Yeah. You know what I mean? So it's not gonna be. Yeah. And I think like listeners understand and want to hear we can't shy away from something. Just because it's difficult to. And that's not who I am either. No. But there there's so much to talk about out there. And I think. Like having a book club movie club, these obe- kind of maybe not always. But like lighter things, right. Because we do need those breaks we need them to. Yeah. And that's why I'm like really excited about some of the interviews that we're going to have and some of the conversations we're going to have and just questions like it's okay to have questions, and it's not all ridiculously serious. But we definitely have a lot of talk about. And when it comes to feminism will we should be standing strong and having a very very strong opinion. Yeah. I think. Yeah. And a am so glad to have you here. Going changes like that. Yes. And I know this episode wasn't our patented research. No was not in here. But we just wanted to kind of level set before we write embark on this new thing, which we are really excited about and we're really excited to have you as part of it. And again, really grateful that you've been so supportive listeners. You've stuck around. Yeah. So I will be around. Also, I'll be around on social media too. So I I am handling that for the most part. But I do read all of your messages, and I thank you so much if I like them, please. No, it's because I like them. Yeah. It's not just because I'm sitting there looking at. I gotta do this this this. I spent a lot of time on social media do. Yes. And I very much. Appreciate that. Like it talking to me. Yeah. "Thrive. And there's an element to of a survivor taking on the persona are the identity of weakness that absolves the offender of all of the responsibility. You know what I mean? Yeah. Just throwing that out there not much that we have to do that now. But. Book marking some things to make sure that we address and come back to. Yeah. Yeah. I think I told you before I on days where like can feel compassion. My younger self because she does feel like a younger sister. She doesn't. She doesn't feel like me at all. But. Sometimes I'm like in all of what she dealt with. Yeah. My hope for you that you can sit in that sense of all and let that permeate you more. Because when I sit with you own when I talk with you and see you that's what I see. And I'm sure that the people in your life that love you, and that are close with you see the same thing. So why don't this week? We're going to have to pause a moment. But why this week you try to approach some of that self compassion with intentionally and even if it's just a moment every day thinking through in reflecting something that you are an all of about yourself. Okay. Okay. I'm gonna ask you about that next session. Homework. And that's that. That's what's their fee can look like. I never really know how these are going to go. I didn't know what I was gonna talk about. I knew what I wouldn't talk about. Right. But I believe me I had that is the last thing. I just I just so you know, I was not present for this our producer. Andrew who was fantastic was not present for those because we wanted you to be in your place and make it normal as possible with headphones. I will say for me normal. But yeah, that was something. Like, even though we're here talking about it, obviously it was done in a private minor. And there are things we may have taken out or put up together, whatever not necessarily rearranged put together because we felt it was important. So again, we were still protecting our own selves and our own emotions and our mentality mental health. Yes. So just again. Yeah. And one thing I did want to mention that I have really appreciated about doing sessions with Dr Coleman is. She gives me a lot tools like coping tools like safe players measuring distress units. We'll probably come back and talk about those future episodes and one thing I found interesting after listening back to this is a really played it safe. I wanted to play it safe.
