"Caught offside with andrew gumming and jj caught offside from beautiful caught offside towers on the upper west side of manhattan and from an apartment in brooklyn new york andrew gun ling and j. j. davani what's up other. It's a it's a beautiful apartment you've been in it. I love your apartment. The only problem is that it's also inhabited by a cat which i'm allergic to nothing against cats. It's hard for me to be in there for an extended period of time before i started to sneeze and my eyes water and i get. It's just. it's not a pleasant experience. You spent a whole party or maybe even two christmas parties in here with cash. That's true. And i even fine even spent more. I wasn't fine. You know what i was like. It's not easy. Nope but i even. I even spent more time there than most guests as i arrived promptly right at eight o'clock the objection the objection to you wasn't that You know ono here comes. Andrew got a problem with the cat. It's that most of the people you met at the parody phones. You quite distasteful. I don't remember that being the case. All i made a lot of friends there. It's true lot of weekends. What a weekend andre. yeah. I know it really was and i wanted to start. Jj with a tweet. That i got so you. You texted me before liverpool manchester city. We're gonna talk about all these games. Of course well really. We're gonna kinda focus on the top of the table because we're at the second international break and the top of the table has been just as compelling as i think. We predicted it to be before the season. Maybe even more so. And so i kind of want to go a little bit deep on. How things are shaping up so far little did i know. Mark ogden is of similar minds. I saw at espn fc. One of the lead. Story's de lead story. Today was kind of a similar. Look at how top six affairs up to this point so we're gonna do that And you shortly before liverpool. Manchester city kicked off. As i am often to do you. Dvr the game. And you texted me. Because i guess you can watch it live and he said. Hey i'm dvr ing no spoilers please. So yeah fair enough. We've i've been there. Certainly i i i live by that And so i get it so yes of course not and then you took to twitter tweeted that as if you like expected no one on twitter to tweet about the biggest game of the weekend attention everyone on this app. No one talk about this game. Because i'm dvr in it but so the funny thing was though after that happened. I wasn't even thinking about this. So debrecen a scores. The equalizer late in the game and it didn't even dawn on me but one of our listeners. Who is now. Maybe my favorite listener at missile romero. He tweeted this to me. He said please at a gun ling text. Jj that kgb has been raptured heaven. it's a perfect full circle moment Sometimes our listeners. Remember more about this show than we do what was that. It was mentioned. Was it meant city tottenham. And i taught say you d. I texted you and i said on. Dvr in this game. Please don't say anything. And so you said yeah. Of course i won't and then a little while later. I get a text message from you saying i can't help it kevin. Brian has been raptured into heaven. I know you absolute you bald faced liar. You absolute bald-faced later. I didn't say i can't help it. I i gave who absurdist scenarios to things that didn't happen but innovate. He scored a goal. You would only text me that if he did something unbelievable and he scored a goal angeles day. I don't know why you felt compelled to do that. And you're getting into heaven is a is a moment of beauty. Why did you feel the need to say anything. I should have. I shied away that he was raptured into heaven. You're you're biblical study at thing of beauty. I i really don't want to go down this road. Heavens people some people will be raptured to heaven leaving the other nonbelievers to toil in the fires of hell on earth but at the same talking all means the same thing that kevin lebron's did something spectacular. You would only that to me if he had done something. Incredible i after i had told you. No spoilers missile. Romero's right i was. I should've texted that to you when he scored that goal. I'm mad that i missed opportunity. Well you know what domi it wouldn't have mattered anyway. 'cause i turned off all my notifications everything. I was coaching. And so the game clashed with it. And i made a commitment to this team. So we're going to want to coach this game. My friend was going to record it. And we're gonna play it on the fifty five inch screen back at the club afterwards. I warned everyone in my text lists. Don't text me just in case. Somehow the irs app didn't work and something slipped through the net. I make sure nobody could get in contact with me if my apartment was on fire if my cat my aforementioned cat had decided to run for congress i wouldn't have known about it because i had everything off my phone. I was just coaching and i went. So it wouldn't have worked your mean-spirited holy by the way. I mean spirited things that i've never actually done versus you who have done it multiple times. But yeah. I mean spirited okay. Let's move on. Let's stop the bickering and move onto what was a wonderful heavenly performance straight from The best possible images of paradise the rapture. Oh man it really it might be. It's funny liverpool. If i were ranking games of the season as i contemplate the fundings at the end of the year liverpool might have the first and second best game so far this year between this one and the one they just played against brentford. Yes i agree with you and By the way another I know this is off topic a bit nother great weekend for old brentford. yeah In the derby against west ham. This was a brilliant game. we should've probably qualify it city Were the main protagonist in the first. Half and didn't take any chances. All kind of back and forth happened in the second half so it was probably the best forty five minutes Of the season so far it was so good it was it was it was high level staff..

"Caught offside with andrew gumming then. Jj davani o. Yes caught side from the upper west side manhattan from an apartment in brooklyn new york. Andrew gun ling. Jj davani transfer deadline day. What's up brother. I feel as if you're oh yes intro. As iconic as it is is not as dramatic assay skysports transfer deadline day or else on gaito with their With their rather over the top countdown. We maybe next year we need to do something. Very very dark and dramatic for transfer deadline. Day like a a brian. Fontana panda watch yet. Something like that but you sat in a chair in the dark with just your silhouette you know rubbing your hands together with kind of knock glee not excitement. Not but some kind of menace. Why is that the emotion that we're trying to evoke from transfer deadline. Because it's dry it's ramped up to such a point that You know. Miguel delaney tweeted this out. He said what happens to the people. Now who seoul obsession on twitter and social media and possibly life is trance. I what happens when the window shots for them. This is their christmas andrew. So you're right and this is a thing. This is a relatively new trend. It is not exclusive to soccer. It is very much a part of american sports as well. And i wonder what's behind that. If it's like fantasy sports crazed just the idea of roster building in general like for us. Maybe people are obsessed with it. Because like i can't really relate to messier rinaldo like what they do i. It just doesn't even make sense to me. Like i can never do the things they do. But i think deep down inside all of us believe that we could in some way build a roster. We all in some way. Be the general manager. Oh you've our favorite team and so maybe that's why people have gravitated towards that because they almost feel like it's more relatable to try and build a team than it is to play a sport. Oh sure and strangely. You know you said you'd see tweets which i find particularly grim you know about clubs outgoings. They sold this guy for x. Amount brought in this guy and they'll be like that's how you run a club that's how you run a business and i'm like the joy you're getting from. This is far too much. Sh you know the joy should be derived from whatever player you signed and their contribution on the field not not spreadsheets not stats and figures. And things. Like that. And they can be interesting. I we enjoy regularly. Delving into the world of swiss ramble. Who gives us the breakdown clubs amortization all those things they could you know they they can be interesting but For some people this is the sport. Well the thing that i find particularly ridiculous about this is that you know you fully know that there are people who lose their minds and live and die with the signing or not signing of a player that they have literally never watched play. And i find that funny We all remember andrei arshavin being announced finally at our snow on part of that huge sense of joy that arshavin signed for our snow was based on Okay some good performances in european competition. That were televised. But don't tell me that arsenal fans were watching him regularly. Because they weren't but the other side of it was tottenham didn't get him. There was a point in that transfer saigo not saga however long hours. Were after him. That to northland clubs. Were in the chase for andrei arshavin. So a lot of it. Too is one-upmanship You know united finds look at sancho veron christiano renaldo and they'll be goading liverpool fans and even possibly manchester city fans to about this. You're right in some ways. It's almost like a status thing. Like look it all these guys that want to be a part of of our club not yours. And there's a dopamine hedge from the transfer there's a dopamine hedge from the likes and re tweets when you make a smart comments are are you say how you wanted to transfer window on twitter or instagram. so it's all that It's it's part of it's part of modern phantom it's very grim and but has been building for years and years. I mean it was it was so it was such an event and a thing At sky and and still is not quite what it used to be. You know andrew. This sent their reporters to grounds only to be surrounded by insane people especially the winter transfer window in all kinds of awful weather. You know trying to get on. Tv holding up signs in some cases holding up phallic symbols and inserting them into the year of one sky. Presenter i i to the point where sky. You have to stop doing that. And go inside the grounds or somewhere where the fans worked It is quite a scene We'll go through it. We will be part of the problem for today at least and we will talk about some of some of the key moves from deadline day. Maybe some of the clubs that we feel have had particularly good or bad. Transfer windows also. Jj because we have played three matches in the primarily. You know what today is my friend. What day is that. Jump to conclusions day. We need to drop. Oh you have caught me off. Guard and I don't really know what to say in a moment like this other than i'm sorry you don't have it know what andrew. You can't not have the jump conclusions. Drop oh you're oh no no. No i thought you meant the boeing. Sound no no boeing. I'm not don't worry. Jj act not only. Do i have what you're looking for. I actually created a whole new open. So i actually don't wanna play. I wanna wait until we get to the real action. Yeah oh what. A pro total tease by the way. Just just the my my my my outpouring of anger there was nothing to do you per se but it's it's it's reflected from from our listeners. Who were annoyed we talked about. The carbo called a couple of weeks ago and didn't carbo carbon noise there. You happy everyone that should make them happy. So we'll do. We'll do our after the third week of the per leagues each year. We do i think we do. Mls too we do our jump to conclusions. We podcast where we make. Kind of grand proclamations outrageous statements after just three matches and then we determine whether or not we are actually willing to jump to that conclusion. So we'll do that. You have put together a mail bag. Which i did look at. I really enjoyed I'm excited about that one. God you glad you went to the trouble to do your job. Yeah i did Because i'm a pro like you said I i did see one of our One of the guys who wrote into us wanted to know kind of where we're at with ted lasso.

"Caught offside with andrew gumming and jj. Danny caught offside from the upper west side of manhattan from an apartment in brooklyn new york. Andrew gunning j. j. davani part two of the epl preview spectacular. What's up brother andrew. I'm so excited. This is it the the end is near. We've got grit mail bag. The listeners of really stepped up to the plate and eaten. Whatever has been on the plate. Because that's what you do when you go to the players and it's going to be a great podcast and we've got a great guest. Oh do we ever. Danny higginbotham cannot wait for this conversation. You've seen him of course on. Nbc sports over the past year. Remember him as a as a primarily player He's also a color commentator for the philadelphia union this year. Although this is a an ep l. preview so our focus with him will be mainly premier league and some nostalgia is well because he's a great storyteller. And i i'm sure he's got great stories from his time in the league. I'm so excited. This is one of my favorite podcasts. That we do not just for our. Epl previews but period like in general. Because i love we go all in on the mailbag and we just like invite your letters and the response. I'm always blown away by it and once again. Our listeners have been phenomenal. they have come out in full force. we have an awesome mailbag and I'm super excited about it. At the end of this podcast. Jj of course. We will do our predictions there utterly meaningless unless they are correct and like we always say we We do not forget we. Revisit them at the midway point of the season and we revisit them at the end of the season. So we're not just like we don't just throw stuff out there. Hope that everyone forgets no-no. We hold ourselves accountable because you. That's what you the listener demands and deserves quite. Frankly i i gotta be honest. I hit my predictions. I hit predictions in general as anyone who knows me down the years on this podcast day. No i am crap at them on. I don't like doing them. Bought bought andrew. I have done them again because that is what we do at this time of year. Yeah as a general observation. The i i also found them very difficult this year. And i think it's because i feel like i'm coming into this season where i don't necessarily have a bad feeling about a lot of teams like maybe it's just Generally speaking on this podcast. We make jokes. Oh it is a bright future all that stuff. But i think generally speaking i'm more of the optimist on this show and you're more the pessimist and i feel that that is shining through with me as i approach the season when when i was previewing and looking at these teams i feel like i see a lot of teams through shiny rimmed glasses. Yeah and i. I think for me in my predictions what what i found was there was a lot of things that were just screamingly obvious to me on. I decided to kind of maybe push against it a little bit because otherwise would be very very boring. And i don't want to put out rules Answers that we've given every year although in the mail bag it's interesting one club. I feel exactly the same way about as i did Last summer it is. Also your nature to be contrarian no i enjoy conversation about football more than anything. I think that's the best. The best thing about about the game is that you can. You can look at it from a bunch of different angles and that you're not just completely consumed by your own club like the modern twitter fan is and i'm not talking about our listeners here because our listeners and fairness are are pretty well rounded but the modern twitter fan. I can't hack. who are you. Know the tunnel vision. Mike club Just mike lob my lens how can i degrade everybody else and not take care and interest in in the rest of the league. I can't do that. I mean look. That's a huge element of fan culture. That's not just twitter culture. I think there's an element of fan culture of either. You're with us or against us. You can't not. Can i say that. Maybe maybe maybe you think that that's the case But i some friends. And i'm thinking of one in particular Leeds united fan. And he's brilliant. He is the most committed leads fan. You will ever meet. He has the the tickets dogs. They they the airplane miles across your following this team through good and bad mostly madden last decade. And he can talk about other teams other clubs other players and i praise or their players. Isn't it isn't all about needs with him. That fan is i would say in the minority right now Yeah maybe maybe there's some truth that you know what i find myself as a fan. When i'm speaking with other tottenham fans like i have no problem and the truth is on this podcast. I destroy them at times as well. But like when i'm talking with other tottenham fans i have no problem just going into a bash fest where we just like tear them apart and and but like the second if somebody were to walk into that group who like is like a west ham fan or something and just would look at us and be like. Yeah i know right. Like i would instantly turn on him and just be like what are you know. You don't know anything about this club. How dare you talk negatively about. This is the greatest club. I i feel like. I have no tolerance to hear. Oh others outsiders say it. But like i agree with all the criticism. I just don't always want to hear it. From from you know non supporters. I to chelsea fans turned up at the Monroe barrow last year. Last season For the a for liverpool chelsea game and very nice people. Lovely people Bought the i. I turned on the instantly started called tores You know my god thing and anti chelsea songs the whole thing but we had a laugh about it like you know they were. They educated are they were They had the emotional intelligence to know that i wasn't like attacking them. It was just a bit of a bit of Terrible word banter. I cringe when you say it band sadler. That's the one. I thought you're gonna say but we had. We had a bit of fun on it was fine. And they're very self aware chelsea fans they know they know exactly why people don't like them and And that's great. Uniform with the most fans are good people we love them and they're the life lifeblood of the show and on that note let's do it with the mailbag and speak to them directly. Go yeah you take us through my friend all right okay. it's i'm the pilot. And the captain now Let me just say you can contact us. Throughout the year email caught ipod g mail dot com twitter at ceo soccer pod. Instagram caught off site. Espn we are not. The website caught off site. I got a. I got an email from a listener. Who just this morning. Who was disagreeing with us. On a point we made in pod one and he said i love your podcast. I also love love your site. I visited regularly. No no no. No no no. No less caught off site site has nothing to do with us. So we're just a podcast a great podcast albeit but we are. We are not a website. I don't know who was here i. I'm not sure. I don't even know if i care to go back and find out but i i would not be opposed to a name change Or are we a brand now. Brand awareness is important. Andrew moesha's losses to the center of his nose I think you need to recognize that in this current environment. Let's begin andrew. Let's begin with a character from seinfeld. Hello newman it's newman. Hijack an andrew now before you push it aside. Jj i've put it altogether completely tons of your listeners including myself play and enjoy fantasy premier league. This is true. I took the liberty.

"Caught offside with andrew gumming and jj davani. Oh yes fought off side. The suburbs of new york city back in brooklyn new york. Andrew gun ling. J. j. vani what's up brother andrew. How are you. it's it's good to be back in the same country if not the same studio welcome home. My friend thank you. Ireland was magnificent. The country's going through a heatwave beautiful weather and and it just pops artand people think of rain and greenness yes but all the greenness had had already started it was beautiful and lush. Another sunshine just adds to the country. It's i know it's not a great time for travel right now in the world but Arlanda is in rare form right now. Well that's very nice to hear. I'm glad you had a nice time back with your family and your friends. A is it right for me to say. Welcome home when you come back here or do you consider ireland still be your home like which one should be the welcome home to homes to. Just say welcome back. I guess don't create an international incident over andrew. I was actually in my homeland as well this past weekend. Where's that land in philadelphia. That's for dublin. I wasn't there. I was actually in the city proper as they say. What were you doing a little. A buddy of mine had a baby shower picnic kind of thing but we may. That's horrendous. Actually fun it was. It was almost like a reunion because there were so many of my friends there that i haven't seen in a year and a half so there's actually wound up being great except that my youngest son. Luke is an utter maniac and chasing him around. Yeah and he wants to like everything right in his mouth doesn't matter what it is like right in his mouth and so you just heard there was a water balloon. Toss kind of thing all the like the balloon like pieces of all of them right end right in right. He's crazy anyway. It was fun. We took the kids to museums. Like little doesn't sound fun. I gotta be honest with you trying to keep your child from ingesting fair parts. That part wasn't fun but the rest of us was great. Yes i love reunions to the backdrop of screaming rats. Boy you really sound like you're ready for children can't wait for that. Did come sad. Because i think he'd be a great father but I would probably deprived of that. There is no evidence to suggest that's true. You're very selfish that that is true. You're not ready to live your life or another only for you correct Let's talk jay. We're going talk with. Doug mcintyre fox sports in just a few minutes about some gold cup stuff about What's going on at at at atlanta united. fc So that's a couple of minutes away. But let's start with some of our own thoughts on these issues specifically gold couple there because the group stage has wrapped the. Us have won their group. They are into the quarterfinals. We as of time of recording. We are still not sure who their opponent will be. but we know there through So i guess what gives some initial impressions and thoughts on the team so far specifically just kind of like wrapping up their group stage portion of this tournament. I mean ultimately on paper. They did what they're supposed to do. They want all three gains. They beat martinique soundly. Which was of the three. You know maybe would have more than one sound beating but that was definitely the one that you needed to see. You got that They won their group. Which is what we would have expected. Despite the fact that canada has certainly improved And our game competition which will talk more in depth about So that's the on paper part of it when you like actually watch these games. There are certainly some concerns. there are certainly some issues. Let's look mainly at the most recent match. The candidate match. I mean look as far as starts to games go. You literally cannot star game better. I mean twenty seconds in shack more of well-worked goal carolina cost gets a sebastian legit. Who plays in a perfect ball across the mouth of goal and shack more made a great run and they talked about it on the broadcast. How taste buchanan is a really nice young player. But the one thing that greg bear halter and the us identified him is that they thought if if we make him have to defend we think that there's vulnerability there and within thirty seconds. They were testing him. He failed that initial test more ran right by him and scored a goal. I mean so in terms of the way that game started perfect. Yeah in terms of how the rest of the idiot minutes of the game went. Not so perfect. It was i. I was pleased. I had just gotten off the plan. from from ireland and i was so pleased that i had not seen the haiti martinique games. If this was the fair are the level of football. That was served off. Because i thought they were dreadful. Well the martinique game was look. I mean it's martinique so not to be arrogant american. There's a little bit of like an asterisk on matt but that game to watch decay play the way that he did. It's what we want to see from him. Specifically that game was fun. I suppose as fun as as a game like that candy. But yes. I i get what you're saying. Yeah i thought. The performance against canada was was dreadful honestly dreadful now. There was some good. There were some good individual performances within it but in terms of a team trying to you know. I think the thing that struck me was that the amount of control canada had almost from the first hydration break onwards off the game on day were canada for their power. Absolutely inept in the box. It was like so they were struck down once they get into the box. They couldn't do anything they were completely blunt But the fact is they kept the majority the possession from the us the us. I mean you're struggling to think of really good passages of play and chances created by the us after that initial flurry and maybe the first fifteen.

"andrew gumming" Discussed on Caught Offside

"Caught Offside with Andrew gumming and JJ Davani. Oh yes caught offside from the upper upper west side of Manhattan Andrew Bundling and J. J. Devaney what's up brother. It's quite weak Andrew. Flight Week McGregor sironi Oh espn Saturday night. Not that I'm GonNA fight with you. Okay no because people have complained that people had the podcast. Course I think people have had it. I don't believe that to be the case but they do want us to whiteness. And it's not a contrived thing we re genuinely just disagree. Look I'm I'm not GONNA start pretending to agree on things just to appease people I don't. I don't think that people want that either so I don't know whatever the show has been it's going to continue to be now. I'm sorry you say what it has been what it will continue to be. People are looking for a segment. Andy's life problems. Yeah and these issues. I saw tweeted a poll about that people wanted wall. I'M NOT GONNA force that every week doesn't happen every week. It happens a lot though. Well well maybe I am telling me a lot about certain things. We'll be walking down the hallway and you go. Weirdest thing happened today. Actually I did have one today. I'll do it real quick because I wanted wanted to get to know. Say to the end all right all right market me. Write it down because I'll forget. Yeah this was actually quite annoying. The gold it doesn't happen all the time though. But it happened today on the train You know what I was GonNa say at the start of this. PODCAST was kind of dreading this podcast. In particular. And Look I've grown immune to doing these shows after Tottenham losses to Liverpool in the cough side. Cop It doesn't even move me anymore. The game ended did and I was pretty emotional about it until you obviously had to text me. GotTa do a show on Monday while this is fresh. Our heads can't wait to talk about it. Yeah me neither UNBELIEV- but no but the only reason is I already know I've been getting the tweets of people who are tired of US arguing about out stuff and I already know before we even start this podcast that we're going to disagree on something and I'm already I'm just preemptively annoyed about it and so I don't know what else like. Let's be calm and rational then. Oh yeah well. I think we always try to be that. It's just I guess you get annoyed at my passion and then I get annoyed at your contempt for my five us and your smugness on my opinion genuinely. I'm not that way. I'm just just believe that I am. I know you do Yeah so we'll we'll talk about the caught Offside Cup Sergio Guero has to be mentioned of course The US as we speak. I don't know if the press conference has wrapped but Brian McBride is now the GM of US men's soccer so they he spoke this morning him and Ernie the store. I think there's we'll we'll go through some of it because I still don't know if there's total clarity over everyone's roles here no now So we will talk about that. Maybe in the second half of the popular even what a general manager will actually do and he he does lay it out. I don't know if you've seen some of this. But he does lay out some of his responsibilities but I just sometimes him and Ernie Stewart I just worry about overlap versus collaboration ration- I duNNo. It's kind of feels a little bit. Like unchartered territory. which doesn't necessarily mean that this is bad in the past different in the panic after not qualifying for Russia twenty eighteen? It does feel like there were jobs created to address issues but they are now the same job job one create time machine and Reinstall Jurgen Klinsmann and as manager because we would have made it to the semi finals of the World Cup Let's see here all right. Let's just start with the big story from the weekend. Of course on this show Tottenham Verse Liverpool One nil it goes to Liverpool. They just simply they don't lose even when they don't play great It's just the way it is Tottenham. Were Kinda just very Tottenham E in this In certain ways in fact here I have. I don't think we're talking to me at all Tom. Well well in that. They lost to Liverpool in Austin that they struggled to create well they had a few legit great goalscoring opportunities but when when they decided to play after around seventy minutes. Yeah but for the most part like if you go back to pre Marino Pocchettino really like second half of last season. Listen Positano up. Through now Tottenham have kind of been this team that are not possession based and are counterattacking based and. I think that that is again what they were yesterday. I would disagree with that. They also were also even in the midst even in the midst of that Collapse at the end of last season in all in everything but the Champions League in the midst of that you had a trip to Anfield where by anybody's admission. If we're being totally fair you should have come away with the minimum of little probably with three points. Considering the chances that we're spurred there was every chance. There is every possibility that that should have happened. But but but anyway this is what they have been. Counterattacking signed that is not possessing the ball against against teams that are of their quality or better than even against Iraq's they allow. I mean it was all their goals. Were counterattacking goals. This with with patterns of play things happened. There was interchanges this is this is where I knew it was going to go so I have my observations. I want to hear from you. You're the spurs fan I will. Here's here's the issue that I have with with people and you happen to be sitting in that chair so it's going to feel like it's directed at you but it's just kind of a narrative at large people hate Josie Marino. And that's it and they do and so because he's cocky because you know because of the way he is because people don't always love the brand of football that he plays people have decided over the course of years that they don't liked him and so they are going to fit their narratives about him into a box. And this applies to Tottenham fans applies to non Tottenham fans and I feel like there is a sense of not being totally fair with our judging the way things are progressing right under I mean. Let's forget it's Josie Marino there. I mean look at the way that team was said. Open that first. Half Total and utter submission. It was at times there was six at the back with four in front of it. When they got the ball eventually law of averages they got the ball back they well-needed needed up anywhere? What was interesting the couple of times things came? Offer them where they pressured Henderson with his back to them created added a chance where there was a mistake by Gomez they created a chance but like for most of that half. It was total an author submission and they still conceded a goal. Right now the stats are around. You Tottenham have never ever ceded control of again like this to annual their team now. Oh here's here's a Liverpool Fan. Liverpool are an excellent side right now but taught them didn't even try and test limitations of that midfield test the fatigue of the aside until twenty minutes towards the end. But that's not what Marino wanted. Marina went into this game. Hyping Liverpool praising Liverpool complaining about his lack of options person's and and just sit seeding the game to Liverpool beforehand until the second half when I think there was a dawning realization that Liverpool weren't quite data's it was only one nil at halftime and Tottenham player ten fifteen yards higher up the field and started to get some success as Liverpool. Tired more more more than that though. You know we have this manager talking about options this dot look at the difference assessable made when he came onto the field. Like I contacted Ontai of it that you have this player. That was sort transformative in the Spanish league on so coveted by the previous manager and he's left idling titling on the bench when the impacting mid equipment that made throughout the entire game would have been amazing but look. This is what I said at half-time tell him I tweeted. This out. Marino was expected to set up this way. He didn't disappoint that said. What a bleak on imaginative game plan? You know. Maybe I'm the idiot coming on here. Complaining about what I and everyone else who's watched him for the last decade. saw coming down the tracks. This is what you're gonNA get with from him against everybody except except the absolute wreck on we should just get on with it. Maybe I should stop complaining. Then you need to tell me. What is the right way to play against this Liverpool team? Because they're beating everybody Marino sets up into defensive style. He didn't play one point. Is that's up in defensive style against them for one half he concedes just one goal and then like you just said with your own words he had half time he's and then changes things and they get themselves back into the game. So what is the reason that everyone is doing at the acting from position position of look. I'm I'm telling you what you have is not good enough. We don't have Harry can apart. From the fact they went to a Champions League final. Got Two champions apposite. Finally Without Harry can you don't have. There's no other way what he says you is. There's no other way this can be you. Adjust your expectations nations accordingly and at the end. We've got a tweet like this from from Brandon. Who seems like a lovely guy I must say the game against Liverpool was the first time I saw a proper Marino performance? uh-huh Tonga is the future of this back link. Thought he did well but he was playing as the second of two fullbacks in the site right Sanchez played arguably his best game in a spur short. I thought I'll I'll read was good as well Even though we came up empty there are a lot of positives to take away on honesty. Honesty I don't see them. It's going to be against the big sides and it just seems just seem so wrong from from what spurs where beforehand which was oppressing team a team that tried to get on the phone even if it lost. But I'm telling you they haven't been that in two years. They weren't that under Patino either either. And this is the same squad and you can brush aside Harry Kane not being there that matters Tangy and Dunblane not being there matters even Ben Davies playing ten ten Ganga because they have no choices Ben Davies not being there matters Mussa Soco not being there matters anyhow any hangs with Liverpool one nil where they have to legitimate scoring chances in the last twenty twenty minutes and people are still finding reasons to hate him. And that's what I'm saying is people are not judging him fairly. They're playing against the team and Liverpool that are crushing everyone but he hangs with them and nearly beats them at the end and we still want to do it. Andrew it was clear from early on that Liverpool weren't quite and yet nothing changed. Nothing changed until it was clear. You're from early on Liverpool weren't added. You could sorry taught them how to chances in the early stages one from a turnover from Henderson. The wasn't the fluidity in that midfield whatsoever. In fact in the second half Liverpool's still had all the ball and kept giving it away. It was an absolute travesty. Not something to be praised. The Tottenham didn't equalize. This is what I was sorry. Andrew twenty-seven percent from Jonathan Lou Ceylon young men are best attacking player did not have a single torch in the Liverpool half between thirty art minute and the sixtieth minute none of which would stop Marino attempting to spend the basic poverty of ambition. Assam Genius Master Plan. If we tried to play the way we did Marino. When you say in the last twenty minutes from the beginning I think we will collapse because the players are not used to playing in this style and they are not adopted we did the maximum we could do and unfortunately wii.
