"That's not to say that something can. Step forward and put a seal on the race, but you'd have to say, certainly, you know, I'm obviously I'm a ratings man. I'm a figures man. I tend to look at things through the lens of ratings and speed figures and certainly rather dispassionately at this moment in time I'd say we're looking at a slightly below average renewal of the Derby and it just hoping that something can step forward in the day and really set a sea on it. Yeah, I would agree with that. And it's through that prism that I want to get your ideas of where you're currently standing in the Derby picture. So we kind of had this conversation last week, a little bit Sam, but we wanted to see how things were going to unfold with the Dante. And we got the race that we got. Who is your current pick for epsom? Yeah, for me, I think, given his links to adiya, he's already ahead of him at similar stage in their career. I am tentatively leaning towards military order. And I can obviously hear the boos ringing in as I don't know if I'm quite tipping up a favorite here, but I think it was running on a surface that didn't suit in that lingfield Derby trial, the track didn't suit. The horses can get all sort of tangled up, can't they come and down that hill going around that tight bend and as we spoke about before, the godolphin horse is a big dude, aren't there? They got big girth big bodies, big legs, big everything. I want to elaborate too much more on that. But I just think. He's should we start playing the music in the background as well? Proceed. For me, oh man, I mean, three, three to one, 70 two, would I be taking this price as a single? No, would I chuck him in some sort of fourfold? Potentially and see how it plays out. It's not a race that I'm absolutely gagging to have a better at the moment. For me, he's ticking a lot of the boxes without too many of the question marks arising. Aiden O'Brien was so adamant wasn't he that Auguste Rodin was still going to be his horse and Darby after it all went wrong in New Guinea's new market like you said is prices all over the place, but of course what that flop did was just present the doubts and some people might disagree if they studied miniature orders runs in more detail than I have perhaps. I've had a look at them, but for me, I don't see too much there where I'm like, oh, that could be a big issue at epsom or oh, that might trip him up. You know, he seems really, really rock solid. To me, but I looking at the Dante, I know Andrew balding, like I said, is really desperate. To have that Derby title, I think you'll get the foxes back in perfect shape for the race, hopefully. He did it with Carl dean. After he got rid of Frankie and then came back and was really impressive, wasn't he? So I think he's got his horses in really good fettle at the moment. Yeah, I think there are a few things that might concern and like you said about the weight loss and stuff, but the horse, the horse has got a lot going for him, but I would probably just go with military order, sorry. Sorry, I know, boring choice. I like it. I like the fact that you're coming in with an open view that it's not a final selection, but as things stand, it's military order, and I can absolutely see why. I think the Franco angle is going to be very important because we're now in an era where the Galileo's are limited and they don't make them like that anymore. We've got a dominant Galileo for the oaks, but we don't have one really for the Derby. And so you got to look to who is going to step up in his absence. Who's going to be the next big superstar, and it's clearly frankel at the moment, and he's got two in military order and the other is arrest.

"By the way. Which is why we love you, Mark Milligan. Never change. Never change. But that interview next week is going to be a whole lot of fun. Thanks for that. I'm sure Brian will have taken them in the context to which they were intended. You know me, I'm very jovial and white hearted and very rarely go into people maliciously. Yeah, there's no malice or Malin ten. Every now and again, Milligan out of nowhere will give the two footed tackle. Just from nowhere, and it's like, what the? Where did that come from? And it's that little bit of spice that we quite enjoy. I think. Just a tad just a tide. Let's start with the plastic trials. So, shall we see the most recent of them? This is pretty much it now. And the Derby picture should be fairly much concluded at this point, August roden. Is four to one favorite. He has been bouncing around crypto style. In terms of his price, he's gone all the way out to 8 to one, 9 to one in some places back into four to one favorite now. It is like watching one of those fringe cryptocurrencies just bouncing around. Arrest 9 to two, Frankie's farewell Darby rides Braille for just Carrington at 11 to one Dubai mile 14s military order three to one at the top of the market. And the foxes, of course, the winner for Andrew balding and oshi Murphy, an 8 to one shot. I think if you run this race four times, there's a fair chance that Morgan you would get four different outcomes. What did you make of the foxes and what was your overall view on the Dubai Dante stakes at York? I mean, it's just so you've just gone through the odds of the Derby there. This is everywhere I look, it's people saying this is going to be one of the most open and intriguing derbies, I think. When we spoke last weekend, we were talking about the need for a sort of story going into the week. What is there to really give the race to the boost? I think you've got several potential superstars here. I wasn't absolutely blown away. By the foxes. I think actually in his column and sun racing Andrew Baldwin made some really interesting points. What he did say was that the time Fox is recorded, which is half a second outside, see the stars track record. But he did highlight one problem for the foxes going forward. It's the short turnaround from winning and Dante to the Derby. He said the horse actually lost 8 kilograms in win and Dante. So he's hopeful the horse will have enough time to recover and put a friend on that form and win the Derby for him. For the trainer, it's the race that he wants to win above all others. But I mean, looking at looking at how that race finished and particularly what Richard did, I mean, you could pick any sort of four or 5 from there could go on and for me would have a shot of winning the Derby. I think it's really, really wide open. I think the Dante didn't really give me many answers in that regard as to what could happen in the Derby. It's just the prices are very, very close as well. You can almost throw a dart, whichever one you end up on. I think, would probably give you a decent run for your money. Yeah, I echo that as well. I'm very keen to hear what your assessment of it was, Mark. And for that matter, what was the time for analysis of the race? Because it's a very fair point to be made about those in behind, particularly passenger. Got an awful lot of love in the bedding. Pretty short price now. They're basically the same price the foxes and passenger. Is that right? And what was your assessment in time forms for you of the race? Yeah, I think that probably is about right, our reporter on the day who's the very, very experienced David cleary. He made the suggestion that passenger was probably the best horse in the race and would have won, have he got the brakes and Richard king's coat, we joked about his rides, didn't we?

"Laptop all day anyway. So what's an extra couple of hours here and there? I can tell you it is not a beautiful sunny day in County Cork. So we'll just have to get that one out of the way straight away. Lovely weather in Yorkshire in Mark's part of the world. And Sam, you were just telling us off air beforehand that while you went to college in York and got very fond memories of it, the racetrack itself can be a little bit of a head scratcher in terms of picking winners. Yeah, I mean, for me personally, it's a real feast of salmon sort of place. I love trying to untangle the sprint handicaps there. I will just briefly mention a couple of sort of 18 to 122 winners. I have had in the past, but most of the time I'm just clasping my hands together in prayer for a place really, you know, something's playing six places inevitably I come seventh or I do manage to grab onto sixth or fifth. So it's sort of one of those places. I'm either on my knees cheering or on my knees praying for something to scrape into fourth. But yeah, lovely track. I've actually been there once, but a great atmosphere. Lovely people as well. Yeah, it's a terrific race course. I absolutely love it. Although when you started to delve into the potential after timing, which is something I've done many, many times on the show, I was starting to go, oh no. And it did remind me of I took a swing at diligent Harry and they were paying five places. So of course he finished sixth because that just makes perfect sense for you, doesn't it? Mark, how did your week at York go betting wise? Yeah, it could have gone better to be honest. My two main bets of the week were on Dantydale, Astro King and Passenger who both made the places. And I think Richard King's coat would be the first person to hold his hands up and say he gave neither of them particularly good rides. Passenger, I think more so than Astro King. But we're going to delve into that a little bit later, aren't we? He's off your Christmas card list, so is he? Yeah, absolutely. Not that there's many people on my Christmas card list, to be honest, because I'm not universally popular in the racing world. So he's now off there as well as Richard Hammond and one or two others. And Brian Meehan, who's coming for you as well. I think I'm off Brian Meehan's Christmas card list. Your comments were heard, by the way, which is why we love you, Mark Milligan. Never change. Never change. That interview next week is going to be a whole lot of fun. Thanks for that. I'm sure Brian will have taken them in the context to which they were intended. You know me, I'm very jovial and light -hearted and very rarely go into people maliciously. Yeah, there's no malice or malintent. It's just every now and again Milligan, out of nowhere, will give the two -footed tackle. Just from nowhere! And it's like, where did that come from? And it's that little bit of spice that we quite enjoy. I think I've got a touch of the Roy Keans in me, I think. Just a tad. Just a tad. Let's start with the classic trials, shall we? We've seen the most recent of them. This is pretty much it now. And the Derby picture should be fairly much concluded at this point. August Rodin is 4 to 1 favourite. He has been bouncing around crypto -style in terms of his price. He's gone all the way out to 8 to 1, 9 to 1, some places back into 4 to 1 favourite now. It is like watching one of those fringe cryptocurrencies. He's bouncing around. Arrest, 9 to 2. Frankie's farewell. Derby ride. Sparrow for Jessica Harrington, 11 to 1. Dubai Mile, 14's military order, 3 to 1 at the top of the market. And the Foxes, of course, the winner for Andrew Balding and O'Sheen Murphy, an 8 to 1 shot. I think if you ran this race four times, there's a fair chance, Sam Morgan, you would get four different outcomes. What did you make of the Foxes, and what was your overall view on the Dubai Dante stakes at York? I mean, it's just so... Yeah, you've just gone through the odds of the Derby there. Everywhere I look, it's people saying this is going to be one of the most open and intriguing Derbys, I think. When we spoke last week, Emmett, we were talking about the need for a sort of story going into the week. What is there to really give the race the boost? I think you've got several potential superstars here. I wasn't absolutely blown away by the Foxes. I think, actually, in his column in Sun Racing, Andrew Balding made some really interesting points. What he did say was that the time the Foxes recorded was half a second outside Cedar Stars track record. But he did highlight one problem for the Foxes going forward. It's a short turnaround from winning a Dante to the Derby. He said the horse actually lost eight kilograms in winning Dante. So he's hopeful the horse will have enough time to recover and put a frank on that form and win the Derby for him. For the trainer, it's the race that he wants to win above all others. But, I mean, looking at how that race finished and particularly what Richard Kingscote did, I mean, you could pick any sort of four or five from there could go on and, for me, would have a shot of winning the Derby. I think it's really, really wide open. I think the Dante didn't really give me many answers in that regard as to what could happen in the Derby.

"Here, eternal hope to never run on turf for starters, right? It's three races she's had a third and two wins and they've all been on your weather. I thought the way she raced at lingfield was really encouraging in that she was prominent. She was sort of sitting three four back the entire race. And then she actually soared past Ryan Moore on be happy, whose previously third in a group three. But for me, this is another thing where it goes back to watching a replay of a race. If you look at Ryan Moore when they go and into the drive, down straight there, he never really seen it with him before. He seems to be sort of dithering trying to find his whip. It's like he can't remember which hand is with his encourage you to go back and watch it. It looks like he's trying to draw it out quite a few times and can't quite get it, whether he's about to drop it and he's just caught it in his fingers and he's trying to get it in position again. It was like he couldn't. It's really, really pull it through to the right position he wanted it to be in. Yeah, that's what it looks like. Yeah, that's exactly what it looks like to me. And it seems like he just never quite get. He never quite manages to get going at the right time. And by this point, I don't know. I think he's shown a really good turn of foot here to power home and she's going really, really strongly. At the line. And there's one more trip, it's perfect for the oaks. I think she's I don't think you can really have too many question marks over her being able to get the trip at epson. Of course, it's totally different track, isn't it being filled with the tight turn and the bursts of speed needed there. But, you know, I would be looking at that at that speed as a really, really positive sign, to be honest with you. But the winning margin was one in three quarter length. So I watched that, I watched it back again, and I thought, oh, I almost would like to see them have take two and do that race again and just see if be happy could try and get in a bit of a closer position with Ryan perhaps not I don't know if he messed up with his whip or couldn't get it in the right hand or whatever. But I just thought, oh, it would be good to have sort of a retake on that one and see if that form of sack up and if eternal hope could do it all over again. Yeah, I think this might be a different result under better circumstances. And Ryan has been having a terrific time with things. Last couple of years. Best jockey in the world in my opinion, that wasn't his final shower. For whatever reason. She just didn't really seem to hit the line either. Now maybe that's because he wasn't able to get the whip out in time. She's edged right to. So I could see that form turning around in terms of the oaks I'd be amazed if either of these two were good enough to go on with this. I think they would be entitled to line up for sure. But the notion that one of these horses is going to come through as the winner of the oaks at epsom? No, not in my mind. But certainly both would be entitled to go and take their chance. Switching to the colts, everything is frankly the Tories, final this final that finally other well it's his final Derby ride, is he going to be on board, arrest winner of the boodle's Chester vase, beating Adelaide river in Nebraska, a terrific record in this race, but this source was no match for arrest in France as a juvenile and absolutely no match for in the Chester vase. How impressed were you with John and the gods and sores? Yeah, absolutely love this. I'm a sucker for Judd mount anyways. I see those silks. A recipe and by frankl, I just, to me, that takes so many boxes. I was actually boring my colleagues with this story and they were saying, what are you talking about when I told them this, but I was lucky enough to go to Andrew balding's yard a couple of weeks ago, thousand acres of just serene countryside with 250 odd horses roaming around it was incredible. And got to see, got to make sure I get a pronunciation right here, not child dean held in. Told her. Oh, wait. That's right. It's not chaldean. It's caldon. That's right, yeah. And, you know, just getting up close before we won the guineas obviously. And Andrew's wife and ELISA was with us there. And she said, look at look at cardi and jaw. Can you see how big it is? And I can't remember the horse

"Who we've talked about on the final furlong podcast before and she could be a real superstar and it was no disgrace for be happy to finish third to her in the pre Penelope at St. Cloud on a reappearance. I think that was a marked step up from what she'd achieved in two starts as a two year old, interestingly the decided to come to link field rather than the music door. She was in the music Dora next week at York, they've chosen this instead for me on what we've seen so far, she sets the standard in here and there could be more to come from be happy. a race in the brain has won in the past. Once in the last ten years, with 7 7 7 7 turned out to be a very, very good horse. And he has one that multiple times prior to that as well. I think you're right. We have talked about that French Philly and obviously we'll be talking about it a little bit later on as well. But Tom, where have you landed on the oaks trial? Yeah, I mean, I'd have been happy to go with be happy as well. I was quite disappointed to see sea of roses taken out because I was going to be all over that, but I think for something of an each way, but Ferrari queen who is an interesting runner by decorated night. She's already raised in two group races, just hasn't quite been up there at the finish in those races, but has Richard king's coat on board. It's very fresh. Last been seen in the Philips mile and I think could really take a good step up, I think the pedigree suggests that as well. Coming in with a ten to one shot for your first tip on the final front of the podcast. That's what we love. You can't eat a value, but it can get you a whole heap of gravy. Yeah, I'm loving that. So it tend to one about Ferrari queen I'm with mark and the be happy camp, but she is getting quite short now. I can't imagine much she's going to get much shorter than she is though. Like surely by the time Saturday morning comes around in these markets are actually far more liquid and far more alive. She should be a somewhat more valuable price. Yeah, you would like to think so because she's although she is certainly on our figures, she's a little way clear of the next two or three in here. She's not massively clear of them. And there are several other likely improvers in here, aren't they? Charlie Applebee's eternal hope, for instance, and he's also got sunset point in there and you can throw in Jonathan V gosden's gehra as well. So there are plenty of potential improving lightly raced Phillies in here. So you'd like to think that be happy's price might be a little bit more competitive on the day. One of the last 14 horses to run in the oaks trial has gone on to win the oaks that was annapurna back in 2019. That same year, Lincoln also produced the Derby trial winner. It was Anthony Van Dyck, the late great Anthony Van Dyck who we suddenly lost in Australia. It's 40 horses have run in the Derby trial. One has gone on to win in recent years. The market is headed this time by military order. 5 to four for godolphin. William Buick Charlie Applebee's so Michael Stewart got circular fire for the king and the queen consort. Hundred to 30, inquiring minds again for the garden team 92 and then laffy a 9 to one shot for William haggis oshima Murphy teams up with Andrew balding, his boss and they've got ten to one shot and we in here. Lingfield Derby trial, Tom, take us away who do you like and if it's theirs, lingfield, Derby trial stakes. Well, I started off with a ten to one shop. I'm going to be boring, go for the favorite, and then good often, because there's not much you can't really, you just have to go for the dolphin horse that looks the best in this. Whether that translates to or whether I'm not sure, but I think if you can ignore that, I think, has a really good chance of justifying the short price. Yeah, brother to Darby winner a day are. For the yard as well. And ED is difficult to get away from this fellow at Mark, if you've managed to find something or are not something that you want to take them on with, I'm all ears, circle of fire is intriguing, but he'd need to improve in my mind and military order with the benefit of a run already. This really should be a race he's taking. Yeah, he's clearly clearly going to take all the beating, isn't he? That was a most taking performance last time out at newbury quickened up in the style of a smart prospect. Which you don't expect him to be. He's a full brother to a day, isn't he? So he's bred to be a star. But if there's another horse in here who could be a star, it could well be John and they gosson's inquiring minds. I thought he looked sensational on his debut at Newcastle. That came just ten days ago. So he's obviously got to back up relatively quickly and he does concede a little bit of experience for these, but visually it was most taking, look, it's hard to go to overboard on the race as a whole because it was run at a bit of a joke galloping developed into a three furlong sprint essentially. But the way the way he cleared away from laser guided there suggests that he's a horse who seriously go places this season and what was almost as impressive as the race itself was what happened after they passed the post in that he took the best part of half the track before rob Havilland could pull him up and he's got stamina on the damn side of his pedigree. So I don't think he'll have any trouble staying this extra couple of furlongs. He's around about an 11 to two shot. He's well ended up. They clearly think plenty of him, I thought at 11 to two, he was worth taking against a favorite who for me will clearly take all the beating, but he's a very short price now. Yeah, I suppose the difference here is that military order has had the three starts.

"In 15, the year before the first three home at all being drawn very low for two and three, can occur being drawn 15, but then the ones that immediately followed him were all in single figures. You know, I think at new market, stuff is more pace orientated to be honest than we can occasionally see a bias on this near side real, can't we? That's a new market. But I think if you try and look too deeply into it, it'll fry your brain because jockeys are allowed to themselves when it comes to new market. One race they'll race at the stand side, the next race they'll race the class side. The following race, they might come straight up the middle. And I think for me, you just take it out of the equation and just hope for the best. Because I've long since given up trying to figure out what the jockeys are going to do with the wide expanses of new market. Yeah, I think they probably don't even know themselves until the day. It's a case of play it late. And even then they're probably going to be looking at how certain races have panned out and adjust. But that being said, for all that we can try and put it over our heads, I do like chaldeans drawn store three. And I like Sheldon and awful lot as well. And as long as Frankie Tory doesn't do a flying dismount at the wrong time again. That was. We didn't get to talk about that in depth on the show. That was horrible. In the greenham. That really was, like, you're a professional jockey, one of the most respected in the business. He's been tearing it up around the world. He's just won the Italian 2000 guineas. He was in contention to be leading rider in America, he's been having a tremendous time of things. That was a bad day out, but look, everybody makes mistakes. And lord knows I'm far from perfect. I like the source and awful lot. That was a fast time he won the Jew Hurst in. Oxygen had talked about him in detail because while she obviously wasn't riding on the track last year, he was writing out work rushing for Andrew balding. And he raved about Shelton and hoped that he would be on board him this season. And I like his chances and awful lot for this race. And Laura king made an observation that I agree with. It's a bit puzzling that with no rider on his back, he didn't finish in front of Isaac Shelby in the green room, but maybe he was just having a bit of fun for himself and enjoying himself out there. And maybe that's just something we shouldn't take too seriously. But if he is okay from that, then 5 to one about an impressive winner of the dewhurst who's wanted in a really strong time who had been very, very good in the champagne stakes at doncaster and I thought really brave and classy at the acome stakes as well. He's just constantly improving constantly getting there and we interviewed Andrew balding for the horsepower documentary. Last year, and he was raving about him then too. I love this source and I think he's going to be, I think almost impossible to knock out of the frame. Each way with a malice. 5 to one is the ultimate scumbag each way bed, and the more I look at this race, the harder I find it to get away from them. But is that the horse that you're with Mark Milligan? I thought it was really interesting watching that green newbury. Because if you go back and people can go back and watch this again, I thought charing got tired. That was my takeaway. Look, he had no jockey on his back urging him. But he was more or less keeping pace, wasn't he with the winner. Until the last sort of furlong also, when he started to drop off, I'm assuming, because he'd been right up there with the winner, albeit riderless. Prior to that, that he wouldn't have just decided that I've had enough of this now. He was a little in life out there, wasn't he without a jockey on his back. And he just seemed to get a little bit tired in that last furlong. Now

"And igloo problems last year. So we weren't able to get them to the track. So we just left them developed quietly throughout the winter there and he's done everything right in the spring and he's ready to go. Wood didn't. Well, you look at some of the horses that we've had beaten award didn't, harbinger, medicine, just for two. So it's always a very strong race. And it's one of them racists where you're never going to think we could win today. It's just it's a great place to start and on race three year old over a mile up the road at newmarket. Lovely ground. It's just a perfect place to get going. I'm certainly stay ten. I think that probably where his best will layer can furlong. So we'll see how it gets on today. I think the favorite of Andrew balding sounds like it's been well supported and you're here on good things about that. So we'll see how we get on but he's a lovely horse to go forward with and he's got a great mind and he's easy to train so it's all good news with him. Is he fired up for his first run or is it a case of just let's see how he gets on and then build? Well we never fire him up it's all gentle work and they just asked to come off the bridle once maybe twice before they go to the races so it's very much with the next month as such in mind. Some very expensive acquisitions in this race. By the time this podcast comes out it'll either be minutes to the race or it'll be over. But defeats in this if he wins if he wins can you put on the I said he'd win. If it's after the regime. Like we do when we're when we kind of casually mention horse and then we're like oh yeah, we tipped him yeah we were all about that horse. Yeah, that's right. We both done that. Of course. Of course, everyone does it. Yeah, new businesses, the Android building horse you're mentioning at 240,000 guineas purchase. Why am I always obsessed with the amount of money a horse cost? Because it must mean they're superstars, except for the fact that there's a hundred and 80 grand horse in there as well, 90 grand horse yet. And plenty of horses were bred in the purple just like passenger is. To another narco source in the yard, humankind, beautiful pedigree, by frankl, out of storm cat, two races at doncaster and on the old weather at kempton, how is she wintered? Yeah, she's fine. She's done all her work. She's just ready to she's just a little bit backward in a coat. So we've backed off her for the last ten days. She'll get going now when the weather's a bit warmer. She ran an awful ground at doncaster and kempton is not really her but wasn't really her thing. So but we just wanted to get a bit more experience into her before we put her away. So she'll start among the quarter, but she'll stay in mile and a half well. Great big scope Philly, but going back to the word scope, she's got a big frame to fill quite a tall Philly. She strengthened it well. So yeah, I'm looking forward to her, but she just needs a bit of warm weather. Some of these fillies are just crying out for a bit of sun and some grass and then they'll thrive. So we will just be probably probably two and a half three weeks away with her. Can you explain that as well, just for new listeners? So this is something that sideburns are would have been talking about back in the day when they would bring the godolphin horses from England over to winter in Dubai. And that theory was, well, they'll get the sun in the back for the winter. And it didn't always translate when they would come back. Some of them would really thrive some of them would regress when they'd come back to England. And then it might take a little bit of time to rebuild Charlie Applebee seems to have come up with a policy of its selective to bring some of them over. Most of them from what I understand are actually saying in new markets. But the difference that the sun's shining can have to a racehorse. How does that work? Oh, it's remarkable, especially with, especially with the Phillies. You know, the cult will always come in their coats and the Phillies are just, as we say, they're a bit cleverer. They have the hammer to their coats to such a jacket to keep them warm. And some of them just will not let that coat go or thrive until they get some sun on their back and it's all very natural with the Phillies and theirs. It has to happen season wise and it all has to happen naturally, can't rush it. In my opinion, I think what Charlie does to Charlie I hope he's got it absolutely nailed on now what he does to dyslexia right horses to go over there and which also to leave here is results prove that gradually stuff up there. And right so they've invested a hell of a lot

"Sources have been doing du jour literally listed race last time I absolutely bolting up in it. And doing so at song clue as opposed to a character somewhere. So just a better track, better quality of race, better visual performance, I would like to see this as a push button display, but let's see what you can do. She looks very, very interesting. She definitely looks like a proper classic type. And if she wins this, then it's all roads to the French oaks. Who knows? Maybe they would decide to come over to epsom as well. That would be pretty cool if they did, but one to watch out for, it will be live on sky. This guy, of course, they do this French racing. Right, we shall move on, which will move on. To the three 15, it came to Aztec Empire for oshima Murphy and Andrew balding is the 11 8 favorite duty of care four to one. Bandali, 9 to two. Abandoning won this race last year is a 5 to four favorite. That seems like a pretty damn big price to me, although his form did deteriorate after winning this race last year. He got thumped at haydock, but if he's back to the horse he was, then that 92 could be pretty big Mark. I'm keen on abandon over here. He won the race last year. He won it off just two pounds lower than he gets to race off this year, clearly goes very well fresh he disappointed a couple of times on turf afterwards, but that run when he was 6 in the Northumberland plate at Newcastle wasn't a bad run at all. I expected more from him in November. He had a break coming back to kempton. He sort of disappointed there, but got back on track to a certain extent on his final start in December when he finished third there on time form ratings. That was his third tip upon alias there was as good a performance as he put up all career. I think it's interesting as well that the Charlie apple being godolphin team, a person, persevering with band and early as a 5 year old. You wouldn't have thought they'd be carrying on with them if they didn't think he was capable of at least winning good handicaps. I think he's very, very fairly weighted, off 97. He does have Aztec Empire to beat who was a decent winner over this course and distance last time and could still be improving and he's got a really nice pedigree hasn't he seen the stars out of a hurricane run mayor, but I just thought around about four to one 92 with conditions in his favor, Charlie appleby William Buick band and he was a little bit too big of a price for me. The weight swing is certainly significant with Aztec Empire and I wouldn't be dismissive of that at all. It's 9 stone 12 for bandele 9 stone four. For Aztec Empire and that could be crucial coming down to the finish of this race. Aztec Empire would have a very high speed figure and would be clear without giving away what the rating is because you got to pay for it. He would be clear pro forum top rated in this. Miles clear. But the second top rate is bandele. And he is only two pounds higher than when he won this race last year. And this is bound to have been the target. Like one Charlie Applebee's been out in Dubai trying to plot out where am I going to run these horses? This would have been the target all along for this fellow to come back. And if he is going to be winning a race this season, catching him first time out is probably the best bet, a reference Charlie Applebee's record of bringing horses back after a break in the month of April and how profitable it is. Well, that very much applies to this fellow. And while secret state is an 11 to 8 shot, this guy's 92. It's just a bit too big. So yeah, I would be with you. I'm going to briefly mention the attempts network sorry, Tony Keenan. The protons network apprentice handicap. And this is the 5 50 at doncaster over ten furlongs. This is all of a Billy lockdown who is clearly a superstar. It appears as though every time we're doing all with a racing on talk sport two, Billy lock nan is there. Billy big balls himself absolutely tear in the place up. He's a teenager. He's only had a 189 rides in his life, 128 this season, 40 wins total 34 of them have come this season. He is banging in the winters left right and center. And that claim, obviously there's no claim here, but it's disappearing. He hasn't teamed up with Gemma tossing much. I don't know if they've even teamed up at all yet. But he's going to team up with her on high lecture. Jem is a very talented trainer. Highlighter was an ex niarchos horse who only raced once for them. In Windsor, was sold pretty cheaply, but his beautifully bred is an Australia out of a dala county mirror. The jockey booking is significant. With Billy on board, I think the trainer switch works gem is a really talented trainer. I think she'll get the best out of this fellow. And yeah, I don't think they have combined together at all. But he's definitely want to keep an eye on. What pricing is going to be probably probably short enough because Billy lockdown is going to be on board. But not so short that he's unbaked. I'd imagine you'll get a reasonable enough price here. What's the pro forum suggestion of these price? They reckon 9 to one. It is not going to pan out that way. But if you're getting

"A whole lot of other hitherto backward types who just beginning to flourish. Get a really good point. And even the record in this race in the last ten years like olympic glory to go onto groupon success master the season we just mentioned of confused a massive discipline really in hindsight but there were other decent horses in there. it's just it's it's got an interesting mix of horses corto unfortunately never got the chance to race a race again after winning the national stakes At the curragh post it's intriguing. The dolphin have for whatever reason salt this race out. And i've decided to use this as a springboard for success and i think masekela that you mentioned that's a huge step up on the performance that was expected at roy ascott and kind of felt a little bit. Sorry for him. Because i know that connections the world of them and it looked as though he was going to do it and deliver the goods and it was kind of unusual for andrew balding horse because they tend to improve on their first run but It clearly come on awful fresco. It was probably the switch to go to firm ground. Yes it could mean. The chechen was around on soft ground. I thought it looked very strong chechen stakes beforehand at ascot and still do away even though great. Max was down the field in the superlative sweeping who was folded in the chechen He was beaten as will wasn't he at newmarket loss. Wiki one of the maiden races so mass akita has kind of jumped passed sweeping a great max so definitely improved a lot for that. I run at that. Run in the chechen but i think the front to the chechen rebels is really looking out for point. Lonsdale lovely individual. Throw bron and the queen's will reach the moon rent such a genuine race in that chechen stakes Was in front or on the front end all the way and found an amazing amount. I felt in the conditions over that stiff. Seven phones chiro. Having only seconds. Starting i think majesty agra decent one there and by sea the stars the absolute legend chris. I'm very fine. And what does it very race. You're going to get so many tweets going who through the darlie july the darlie to like was Obviously the feature race of the july meeting and you talk about throwing a blanket over the phone with fields. Similar story bought Starman emerged victorious tomorrow on board. There was something with ashim murphy. Afterwards about picking the wrong horse was being polite answering that. I don't think he had the option I think he came in for the right on on starman when tom wasn't available but i don't think that this was a case of a choice. He was just being very polite Dragon symbols a monstrous race defending champion and roy. Ascott hero oxted Has run a monstrous. We've our power and there for large getting the scumbag each way money A royal ascot hero in creative force and ari'el ascott second finishing sixth so there's not an enormous amount between them and yet the more i watched this back the more comfortable. It seems for starman. Yeah i i degree. I think he's one lane in in what was on is probably the best sprint of season And was a very strong looking renew. I think the point about as she murphy. I think you'll roy. He probably didn't the choice in that he was always gonna stay loyal to dragon single anyway. Because i think he had a hand in the boeing did just been well documented and. I thought it was an exceptionally strong july. Will there were several holes in the coulda put a stop folders. And he's overcoming little bit of interfere Roman at the end he's wet on top. Dragons similar run that superb race in the world cup as discussed earlier age and was disqualified off from first place. But what what struck me. And i take. Dragon symbol on on. Saturday was the way that he encamping. Nanny who five things clear the others komo's cup in the united for me. That's always a massive take when tools or even the first three. Come clear the others of the you can be pretty positive about the full moon and he ran a fantastic price as As well all power had his own way of things on the fall admit he's probably run. The rice in his life possibly helped by being on that false ought to be able to just blast off. But i will quite impressed by the fifth creative force who all four of his previous races that season and he was running at the finish. One won seven photos the road racing in the jersey stakes previously. He looks russell. These still getting better. And even glenn shield. It was just behind them on ground. That really would have been quick enough for him. He's run another fantastic something. He's a remarkable slain share. What what she wants has done with him. I think is is quite stupendous because go back a couple of years He was an import Frontside get come from france and he was basically you know rated little bit low lower than well lower than than you would expect to finishing in july companies. Just done nothing but go forward from what she wants. Some but 'cause most of his best form was coming with cutting the ground as it Boys win in the champion sprint. On champions day also titus o. I thought that was a particularly critical. Run from glenn. Shield who at the age said to be getting better and better. I think there's big race wins in those five dragging symbol oxted art power creative force and glen. She'll still to come in terms of starman. How much higher can he go and perform. And what would you like to see from next well. One of the inhibitors will be the ground. Because he's definitely a false ground holes. He's the any blot on his career was behind glen. Shiel ascot in october on very soft ground. Where you're getting a folder So he's gonna have conditions to suit. I've got a little bit of a a not this morning actually that One of the slot holders full the everest in australia that Extraordinarily valuable race has been in touch with the connections of storm and fishing whether they might be interested That might be a little bit exclusive on the final film that and it but i think the racing post will have it tomorrow but is a chance that he could run in that. We've beaten them. We've we've minded they anyway. Two ways of looking at that. Obviously the the travelling and the difficulties Getting into different countries at the moment is is is is is not straightforward but he probably would get his ground in australia. And it may be very tempting when you consider what is targets was six photons all potential targets in this country and you probably looking the haydock sprint baby the champion sprint. Again on champion. Stay in both of those races. It could be too so far. Yeah so if i were. The connections astonished little approach from somebody with a stake in the everest. Ibm keen to learn a.

"The i know that you did come up and stand side. And and he was really the first one to do it. But i think that was quite good steam race. You know. I might use free old a lot lot race for year olds in it. They want a good pace of to finish in. Spate was quite good. is always a good sign and cam was well. Supported in the market wasn't a coach. The big token do shandon going. Did he that the hot favourite lost. I think both front shoes or front show and didn't end up lining up so if you're on the favorite that was a bit of a disappointment but tash came second favorite and he did do the business quite well Some is not. The runner-up travel beautifully. I traveled like the best hopes in the rice. Ortho and i just felt like he got bogged down in the in the rarely testing ground. The mall preska. He's really improving young style and he'll be very very good on better ground again. Possibly one for one of the steam races glorious goodwood summa's night for the prescott. It's definitely foam to be positive about that. Mall and six handicapped one by tashkent. Yes small horse used to be trained by emmett. Mullins now with brian ellison maybe the melrose over two miles could be next for him but soft ground. I think is crucial to wherever he goes next. I don't think many handled the ground in the old newton cup won by a lunatic. The winner certainly did formally trained in germany so he was used to these conditions the first win for andrew balding he still went off a mock up a hundred two. They affair efim fair. He moves through the race in knock. But much like you. I don't think it's rock solid form. I think plenty add viable excuses. Mainly the ground. Longside cider hated. It absolutely detested that soft ground. They will even a real big print heidel as always do it. Seems heidel have a meeting when it doesn't ryan Alongside it was just went out early in the strike. Hated the ground women much on quick conditions. Now i on tests. Don't don't look too much into that. Uh fencing for the ibo if he runs the personally dot jed. I took plenty of money as well. Weaves morning gamble about ms racing Didn't produce brilliant light loss to show you probably escobar went to to foster early in those testing conditions. Take absolutely nothing wife me knock. I mean he won pretty close in the end achieved in all of one hundred. Fifteen is joint career-best along with his second in the hardwick lost year. I went back in to confirm the phone with someone is in behind the if the ground. Gob it quicker. So i'd be looking at that race. And in fact the almost six handicap earlier on the car which g roads says it was a good rice. I think it was good rights too. But i will buy. Johnson is hated the ground condo asami and harlem soul and i wouldn't be surprised if they bounced back in typical mark johnson fashion. Next time out. I perhaps that could be flurries could would attract that trainer. Xl latte traditionally now the to racist that we talked about some witching. Them was the lancashire bikes one by alpinist. Tom you very keen had beforehand and she sort does what she says on. The ten doesn't choose a strong staff. And you know you're going to get some money with her. She's building a really nice profile precisely that she was eclipsed down on fulham unofficial writings. Aecom believe he was eleven to four th allows extremely generous. obviously she have slight ground Doubts because she'd never run on anything that testing would have a good form came on good to firm good ground. She always runs. Rice custom. rousing has another purpose. they're on a hands as she always seems to And i think the lily lanktree probably going to be the ideal spot for our police given. She's already won it good with this year. When she wasn't hundred fit in behind lady hayes ran a screamer at huge finish second. She's very unexposed. She represents veronese israeli golfer. double figure process. Let line whoever She was twenty two to one or something They were asking to go to the us. A connections are arina has been run over in the states I'm most surprised that said joe's boat in barron decided to stick to the uk racist given. How one soft ground. And she won't get anything like that in the states but also really nice rice lady hayes. I wouldn't be giving up on her bow police to was to stand up. Beforehand proved in the rice. Yeah they mentioned the sanctuary as in yorkshire access possible next target so must admit when i saw this race and saw the prideaux royal heir the wolmar six race Along shop will be a perfect fit for this philly particularly given. She's now shirt. She handle soft ground. Look wonderful tonight won the race last year. I've been looking at something like that for her down the line if she proves up to it at wrote anything to add on this this progressive great vinny. She was very very tough guy martha in this race because she was raised up with the pace and the the from free in the market with some of those were cutting out the pace. And i just thought they would go in a good enough pice. Mystery angel was founded. I think was up there as well and She really kept home when the others flounded. Strike so i think she may be a little bit extra credit for that. It's hard to gauge. With the times when it gets louder hideout because coast the ground cots up so is the grand cuts up. It's quite difficult to even write races in comparison with the previous ones. Because if you're on the fresher ground tend to rumba times. But i think she's a good philly opening easter. It was almost a really good life in some prescott. Wasn't it because he did have some is not finished second. But we'll say indeed now. Let's get some notebook. Horses aren't gonna guy i i'm gonna sneak in at because all really caught my eye limerick on sunday masic ground now trained by joseph. Brian formerly raced in the middle east. But i urge you to log on to racing poston out. This horse win in three. Twenty at limerick has a site super impressive and unimagined. He'll be winning decent races before long. Any horses you want to highlight tom. Well managed to catch many of the racism. Aside achy apart from the ones that we've covered Pity because i was driving and to the scott sheet as in west london on friday there were a couple of policies. The interesting little sunny listed in that seven villanova choices signed on was really impressive for charlie house. One by five and a half Five and a half lengths be a useful horse by looks vein. Dukedom who jonathan. He goes to clearly recognize clock. Good given the money at thoughts into fought six favorite owned by the crane asana as well so i thought sonny liston was really impressive. Don't give up on dukedom. Eva wasn't given the best. Ride by frankie and haydock. No don cost us. Sorry must shala in the one mouthful novus event. I was at kempton last time. I put my shower up as my lead. Three point tip tip me in the pipe. He was even money. And i was thinking crossed. I want to be putting up at. It's on show actually went off at once a full which was bit embarrassing at the end. He nearly lost a god of ready. Made a bit of a pig's ear of this although he has one you'd expense by straight when he came out at don't cost on. Friday improves that he's patient host. He bolted up at one. Awful long trip helped him wrote barrens another useful middle distance prospects. Another son of franco. He's having a great season as asya. I won't be given up on michelle for grade. F agreed breaks. It's our that's my. Us us influence grew. Grace's moving forward..

"One pool. I think for myself for about forty grand misspent. But that's one thing. I think that would make the royal ascot pro product. Even better is if they offer doubles. Pick three pick for at least on the group group races each day. I think it's just a would be just a tremendous opportunity especially for folks like us who follow. What are you seeing. A little bit. Others over there and Just it would just give us another option to make a huge scorer on this type of week Greed and particularly now with these With these pools that have been you know a wider array of of told from around the globe Let's look at this coventry stakes. And then i want you to touch on Again on on your saint james play and I just looked it up. It looks like about right now. Trading between sixteen and twenty one. So we'll come back to that in a minute and then you can also offer up. Tomorrow's vance hanson play of the day. But let's look at the coventry First and foremost where coffee maker the first leslie's runners seven to one right now and So that when. I mentioned that the irish racing dot com had said that that she was drifting Absolutely floating up and coming down in price aidan. O'brien with the acropolis. This is the churchill colt with ryan more currently four to one Gives burn Richard hannon five to one second choice and then Dob for gosden seven to one so Essentially coffee maker has floated up from the five to two morning. Wine and basically co- fourth choice right. Now yeah you know I know wesley. Two year old. Some of them have had trouble staying the distance and a number of these raises right for long races. And you know the philly you know. Broker meeting at keeneland. Going four and a half. She faces six today so they might be the mindset that you know she she's good. She's competitive here. But you know she just might not last against this group and the crop. The acropolis cedeno. Brian sources already went over six and a half. So it's not going to be too big of a step for him obviously to go down down a little bit compared to the coffeemaker up into well and for those That listened in yesterday with with kev. Let turn my my page He had interest in the acropolis as well as gives burn. I not with both of these taking as much money. It's actually the gisbert was was a horse that That nick luck Thought had some appeal The other price that kev was interested in was berkshire shadow and he said about twelve. To one and twelve to one is holding right. Now you get oshane murphy andrew balding here and Berkshire shadow Kind of a mid priced about the call at the six looks like sixth or seventh. Mosquito is a horse That that drifted up to This is donna. O'brien and vin five to one morning line but has doubled in price right now. Eleven to one and What i should do to The is let's look at and and check that market place. Let's look at the odds checker numbers and see where the the bookie shops are at. See if it's in line Gives burn and the bob are essentially co-favorites in the shops. Then the acropolis and then coffee maker so pretty close. Although i'll tell you on the international towed. The acropolis is four to one and his trading more like six six six and a half to one in the in the shops so little under laid on the on the international tote coffee maker right in line at seven to one. Mosquito macedo is fifth choice at about eight nine to one so the the tote is a little bit higher. Let's look at berkshire shadow. Eleven to one in the shops so In line with the out. So kind of as we speculated not a lot of difference that used to be. That was my secret for years. Vets i came to dubai. And i you know i'd be. I'd look at what the shops were doing. And then what that segregated pool was doing. And there'd be some great value shopping prices that way just just as things are going good for.
