"So the Lakers one again. Last night beating Brooklyn Lebron James. Picking his tenth triple double of the season in the process as the Lakers are sitting pretty in first place out West but the NBA trade deadline is quickly approaching so as expected. Lebron was asked if the Lakers are one one piece away from a championship team. We have enough right now. But it's not about you know competing. They weren't about June about worrying about January. And if we continue to get better to allow Jane where we move on February and continue to get better We're really good team. But we're not a great team yet. We shouldn't be. We're we're just now being put together in September and in from September to now we're better team and if we continue this trend then we'll put ourselves in a position where we compete for a championship and and have a chance in this league and Sports. In general all you want is a chance. Kenny is Lebron right. That the Lakers have enough off right now to win a championship have enough but I think Lebron was trying to make the point that they need to be process oriented not focusing on the end goal but focusing on incremental crow middle improvement throughout the season. Here either getting better or you're getting worse and so Look at Lakers team. Lebron is having an outstanding years terms of him being able to distribute the basketball the ball. It's a career year for him and Anthony Davis. I mean Nick you were talking about. This guy has been playing like he's going to be defensive player of the year. I mean from your superstars. You're getting what it it takes to be able to compete at the highest levels. But I think you're looking at the supporting cast and seeing the other guys come along in particular Kuzma and I think that's the that's the piece of of this equation. That has yet to come around. The Lakers have been looking for a third scoring option and he just has not developed into that guy. So it'd be interesting to see what they do with him as the trade deadline approaches but in terms of where the Lakers are at right now. They're five games in the win. Column Ahead of Utah and the next closest team so I think did they give himself enough cushion in terms of being able to set this thing up where you can give your star players Lebron. James Anthony Davis a little bit of rest. Once it gets time to gear up for the postseason. I think that's going to be important. Considering those players age one hundred percent and they are. They're doing it the right way and smart way. which is you're taking the regular season seriously? Esley not so seriously that if a guy's got an injury don't give them the night off you make them play through it but where you can get the rest when it's most valuable when it's closest to the postseason and you might also get a little extra arrest within the postseason because you're the one seed you sweep out the eight seed and you get a week off all these other teams are battling amongst each other your point on Kuzan important one and and I wanna address that in a moment but first I wanna remind the audience. What a massive departure? This is from things we've heard from. Lebron in the past Lebron famously. One year in Cleveland said publicly. We need a bleeping playmaker right before the deadline. Meaning we need another ball handler. He if you remember after the Kyri trade and then and during the season they remade that entire team. Bringing in Jordan Clarkson George Hill all those guys he after the first game with that new team right in February. You're he came off the court screaming. We got a bleeping squad. Now we finally have a bleeping squad meaning and he had he had made it very clear he thought the team needed into tweak things. He's right that this is for the first time really. You could argue since the second or third year in Miami. They have a fully formed championship camping trip level roster as is in the playoffs. You're going to go eight deep. Lebron Danny Green. Casey Anthony Davis Center of your choosing to white or jail. Pick one of them with a bunch of Caruso. WHO's Ma Bradley? There's your eight that is assuming they are smart and they removed from the rotation and that's without even Andrea Guatemala Ella coming over in the buyout market. Which I think likely will happen? And then he'll be a ninth guy in your rotation. The question is Kouzmin. Is he going to a mature. Because that's a real thing Kyle Kuzma you can't have your trainer out here saying the best player in the world doesn't work hard enough at his game and the new seemingly cosign it on twitter. You WanNa if you WANNA be a goofball when it comes to your hair fine but when it comes to real professional adult basketball you need to grow up a bit you also need to grow up a bit on the court too often. This year the Lakers are in a two on one break but coups mass and gotten his touches so instead of making the right basketball play he goes himself and it doesn't work out. Well that irritates veterans teams that irritates teams. That understand we have a bigger goal in mind. inclusions defense. He's the one guy on the team that hadn't been paid other Caruso of course but like it's tough to ask a guy who's trying to prove himself in this league trying to get a next contract to be selfless that's why championship teams very often often. Don't rely on young players. If they are going to make a trade it will be Kuzina. He's the only tradable asset they have. Could they use another shooter. Sure the holy could could they use maybe a ball handler to replace Rondo absolutely but if they make no moves. They're the best team in the Western Conference and the only team. I believe that can throw a scare onto him. Is the Milwaukee Bucks who might be the best team we've seen in this league since the warriors will other than the warriors in very long time and so I think Lebron's right that they they don't need to make a move. I also think the next couple of weeks are critical for Kyle Kuzma in which direction he wants to go. You WanNa be a feature guy on a bad team and get the bunge buckets or do you want to be a part of potentially winning a championship in year three which will lead to the financial rewards who want so badly. I would want the second one..

"That'd be a top five player in the. League to herald is a really good offensive player. He's a huge liability. Defensively unless you include rebounding rebounding's part of Defense Zoo watches what you said. Yep and so. You've got an oddly built team in that you want to have your crunch time five. Obviously Quiet Paul George Lou Ann Pat and then a fifth guy but Louis going to hurt you on the defensive in pats going to hurt you on the offensive end and so you're spacing could be a bit off on one end and then you also on the other end. If you've got any liabilities on the outside defensively it not having to protect our hurts. So that's my concern with them and if they do get to play the Lakers and everyone like the and I'm not sure they will and if they do it honestly might be round to like. That's it's totally in play. That they're the four or the five and it's around to match up. I don't think they have an answer for. Anthony Davis now. Anthony Davis got to play well in the postseason but the and I don't people talk about these teams being major players at the deadline. That's the part that I think is missing from some of the conversation. The Lakers the clippers and the rockets are going to be so hamstrung at the deadline. Because they've traded away all their picks or at least not all of them because of the rules on trading picks like the clippers traded away all their picks liquor straightaway of bunch of picks rocket straightaway. A bunch of picks most those are way down the road like who could be a huge player of the deadline if they want to be the thunder but because they've got nothing but picks they'll probably go in the other right. I don't think that's what they're gonNA do so aside from adding Andrea Guatemala. I don't know what major move any seems to make. Except for bio guys. Guys do madder. And the Lakers and clippers will fight for those guys. I will say this about the clippers. One player they could be in play for. Is Kevin Love Really? I think the clippers could be in played for Kevin Love Yes. They've got some contracts there. I mean you've got the and I'm looking up as we're speaking. You got the heartless contract. That's like eleven and a half million dollars. Harrell is about six million dollars. You can make some of the money work to get to. Kevin Love's won't don't the cavs won't picks the CLIPPERS GADGET NOT GETTING PICKS. They are not getting draft picks for Kevin Love. And if they do it's going to be one of those like heavily protected whatever. So why the again. This isn't me being Nandana argue with you. Just you actually. You have a hell of a lot more league sources than me. You talk to GM's and stuff I. Why would Kevin Love not fetch something of a decent return the contract the like most people? I talked to you about Kevin. Love thinking eighteen months. That contract could be albatross around his neck like right now. He's still a good player. Very good player but injury. History is there and there's a lot of concerns about. He gets moved before the deadline. I think if it's just a matter of expiring contracts Miami's GonNa be there to to jump on Yes by the way in love. I love a lot and he. I think obviously would be an upgrade for almost any team trade for him but he doesn't solve the clippers problem. He's not a rim protector. Right I do. I do think that is a major issue. If that if it's one thing to just say we're going to try to outscore people but even the rockets who tried to do that. They did say but we want a rim protector and Clint Cappella and they prioritize that and so I just think it's very difficult to be a great defense. It was my concern with Boston with that. They okay so you're going to try to build this hardnosed tough athletic team. But if guys get to the rim my oh pao tussled. My Hair enes. Kanter is waiting for you there. Monster game against the Lakers monster game for kids. Playing Lebron loves it but those are real concerns win to win the title. You're going to have to beat Lebron Anthony Davis and you're going to have to be honest. I believe you know what I mean like. Not having a big guy to meet those people at the rim to me is concerning. I think the clippers you're right. I think the clippers one thing they do well right now is that they can have their own little death. Lineup out there with Harold at the five and can run you up and down the floor and if you can force teams to play that way and Look Davis is five in key situations you know if you can force them to play that style. Maybe you can have more success because then you have quiet the four Paul George of three and you can do some damage there but I look. I think if Kevin Love if they if they weren't I think it's more of a long shot but I think they're in play. That's another guy you could put a deadline of out there as the five man who can rebound a little bit and would you would the Celtics be interested in love. Ya But one of the biggest problem with Boston is that they don't have the salaries to match like unless they're gonNA offload smart which they don't WanNa do hayward kind of off the table it's like Daniel Thais and it's Kanter these five million ish contracts. They just can't deal. That's why that's why I suggested Bertone's early on the one guy. They could fit into their salary structure. So Hayward though is it I mean I would move to the bench I would he? Just you need scoring with that second. Unit and smart is quite frankly a better fit with that front line. Listen the people don't like to talk about this and I should be wouldn't like to talk about this. I think people feel badly because it's not his fault. I don't think anyone blames him. But sometimes traumatic injuries are exactly that traumatic injuries and they change the trajectory of your career. They change who you are as a player and you don't always just become the same guy like people point to Paul George. But that's not a guarantee and so like Gordon Hayward he's not an all-star anymore you know and in so like the and I get the problem for Brad Brad. Stevens recruited him in college. Like he the all these things and he seems like a great dude but still getting paid. He's still getting. You know what I mean to live out his dream. It's unfortunate that this thing happened but the last year I thought they should have moved him to the bench. If we're being totally honest like this has been a discussion for you know for quite some time. I think you're absolutely right on that regard. I think actually here. It's been really good this year. I just think he's almost a luxury in that. Starting lineup when you have Kemba Jalen and Jason is scores. Second Unit doesn't have any bringing him off the bench put. I don't I just don't know the brand. We'll do it like the closeness of that relationship. You alluded to Ivan. That's a problem. Especially WHO's playing great? And he suffered. Some weird injury was a broken broken hand. And that's and so this. He's obviously playing way better than last year. But the the one of the better things that happen to the Lakers in my opinion was Kuma being hurt early because it made it seamless that he could be the bench. Guy that the score coming off the bench there is immense value in having a guy who is clearly one of your five best players. Be Not be one of your starters. If he's not good enough to where you're going to run things through him with the starters so he can run things he can get his shots get his touches coming off the bench and just rotations fit better. That way and I agree with you. A hundred percent because to their credit the young guys have played great in in. Kimbe. I'm sorry in Tatum. And Brown and Kimba right now if the nets called you called the Celtics and said Hey Kyri for chemistry up new. You get hung up on immediately and Kimball has been exactly what the team needed and credit to them and he got his first win ever against the Brown yesterday. Do you know you know. It's unbelievable the only the Lebron was twenty eight zero against Kemba. The only player. Did you see it. Who is better one other person was Michael Jordan thirty?.

"So Chris has gone to get them tortillas and we're going to see billy. We're going to put you out on across the street and see how good you are throwing towards. He wanted a month that train you don't even give him a night and Sunday not even GonNa give segment billy's been in the Dungeon Verdoux days listening all the useless sound produced all around the NFL. We Really Miss Andrew Luck. This is the Andrew Lock memorial useless list sound. Who was the star. This week is Freddie. Kitchens got any good at it. Is. He not useless enough. No one's good highlight. I think is Jamal Williams this week. Nick really really packers. Okay let Jamal Williams is the highlight. We're going to have to wait a minute till we get to it but we've got some strong strong useless useless down from the football weekend. Let's get to it right now. Only you know we didn't win the game so I don't think I do very good offensively. Where as bad as you can get a lot of fix? There's there's drills for that but the stuff that he did in the game. There's not drills for that. There's got to make overtime so for the most part of you know. It was a game. It's it's great to have heart. Isn't it great to have heart men and women with heart to go check. It's feast or famine. it's a wake up call. You are what you are when you play the score as many points as we could. Are you not worried about 'cause. I'm not well at the right plan relative to what those guys are are going to be doing. A lot of people would be defeated at that moment but we didn't bad and I we got turnovers in the first half we settle for field goals turnovers in the second half and scored touchdowns so that's the outcome fight mattel off like I always do compete my tail off. No matter what the score is whether we're winning whether we're losing whether it's tight. It's more about awesome. There's about the opponent every week regardless of where they are just trying to get better each and every day and player best on Sundays Sundays the thing that I loved he knows where the exit doors are and that is something you really can't teach as a coach we were the ones that put ourselves in this position and we have to be the ones to to get us out. Clothes are on anything we get them down. You got to work in concert as football team you know and they work and better concert it and we did. You don't let you check your on that kind of stuff. Labile put their ego out. We should try to check your ego on that and then and then keep it up. We didn't work in concert to accentuate the positive. It didn't work in concert well enough to minimize the negative. This team will not win a lot of games going forward and what we thought they would be on paper will not be what we see on the ground anytime you know they can give us at Schofield. We're excited. We smell blood in the water. We're GONNA try to get it. He's a human being like everybody else. He's a Well oiled machine. Yards isn't gonNA make a difference really off. The field. Goal five yards would have made a difference. It's not we came out there. Ever so you know you do that. You make plays. He's usually happens when you play with great effort. I've been around a lot of smart people. I'd rather be around the tough people football team for he got there. You're on the right path and now that he's going to be on the right path. He really can't say enough about the consistency of what type of player he is tenacity that he has the way he goes about the game. You know he's long. He's relentless. He he just a great pro. What is it about when when these conditions you seem to be. I live at all the rain. The rain slows everybody else down. So I feel I say are made. I feel like a mermaid. Everybody else like dogs swimming. You know what I mean. It's been been like I'm just fooling out there. I think the rain Jamal Williams everyone. Everyone else is a dog trying to paddle. He's a mermaid. What is Tomlin talking about. It's the best concert I Mike Tomlin has that sort of military rat-a-tat tat cadence of giving you thoughts and wisdom's in a very sergeant style. I think we should applaud both players in the Jameis Winston journalist exchange because both of them were it was great follow up. Did you see the goal. Five yards would have made a difference. It doesn't okay good all right. The TORTILLA has been secured. Billy has a Tortilla find out in the next segment. Get a handful all of them because I'd like you to have multiple options. I don't want you coming back with a mile. I don't want you coming back with your excuses that this. Tortilla fell apart get like four or five of them from the Cleveland or kitchen. We're going to try and see if you can throw indeed. Tortilla a mile and the next segment you just have to throw at fifty four feet six inches if you want right we will be watching to see if Billy Gill airmont executive producer if he can break the record for a Tortilla fling on ESPN news we will do that next Donlevatar Chris. Give me other examples of your father being self involved in your childhood. You had me thinking earlier of things he he does with my wife. My wife has been going over there for years having dinner at his house and he's cooking and she hates mushrooms and yet still every Sunday mushrooms involved with this dinner and he's like Oh aw oh. "More easily than anybody else I would guess it would be Lebron followed by depending on where his body is yeah. That makes sense to me. I would like like if someone out there were able to make a documentary about the final night of the two thousand nineteen N._B._A.. Regular season like a sit down interview with Anfernee Simon's you could get the nuggets involved involved. I do not have the energy for any of that but it was a crazy crazy two hours there in the western conference and honestly had a lot of ramifications when you think about the playoff matchups and the way conversations have changed over the last six months because of that but I do have one other note for You ben and one other question. Where do you think Andrea Guatemala will end up? I hope he's smart enough to join the clippers I mean this guy's got tech aspirations. I think the bomber should be involved heavily in the recruitment of Andre Iguodala however however that's legal under the trade situations but to me. It's an insane fit. It'd be so much fun to watch that team be able to put out lineups with basically like five wings or four wings in a perimeter guard or four wings in a big. I think they could use some of his confidence some of his championship experience <hes> on their bench. I think it would also more than anything in. I might have already told this to you in person but to me if I was bomber I would pay. Andrea would all like ten million dollars a year just to be like a C._E._o.. Of his one of his tech companies and just not to play for the Lakers because I think the like the worst possible scenario the clippers like I honestly like the thing that would <hes> kind of mess with their championship is more than anything else would be for Iguala to go to the Lakers and balance out that wing dynamic so yeah if you're a bomber either either pay Andrea Guatemala to retire or do whatever it takes on the trade market to get him and just to give yourself an embarrassment of riches on that on that on that perimeter defense dude a hundred percent and I think that's part of what makes us so interesting Pelinka was igwe dollars agent and we'll have recruiting power with Iguala and both of those teams should be fighting over him and it's going to be really interesting to see how that shakes out because because I do think it will have major implications more on the Lakers site the Lakers I do a why exactly so that's a good lanes are going to be thirstiest. Hell let me ask you if you're Igwe Dollo. Who would you rather face? He's less Kawhi Leonard in the playoffs or Lebron James in the playoffs because if you're getting signed by one of those teams that's your job right like your primary. Responsibility and life is to give lots of quality defensive minutes against one of those two guys like who who who's keeping you up at night more..

I believe it's false confidence that they're trying to lean on him like this is the hocus pocus like, okay if we can get him back, Toronto, either leave like you. Because Kevin Durant won't be one hundred percent. That's why gin I pick them to win the series. He won't be a hundred percent the rest of the way Nick, I think Toronto wins this series either way. But I also think at this point, by the way, with it was not my preseason. Pre-series prediction. It was there, too. But Katie has to play for the warriors to have any shot, and it's not because of just what he had on the court that Willis Reed in that famous game. He's four points, the warriors when they were down to one to the grizzlies in the second round of this run. They made a structural adjustment were not guarding Tony Allen. If you can't run, it's not you're not the same player your mind's, not the same you get to the same spot on the court and all those examples that you use, you know, what happened they play great defense to turn it around the warriors, can't play great defense. And they definitely can't play great defense with Kevin Durant, who's not hundred percent Siad I I'll just say this quickly. I think you're both correct in that. I do think Toronto would have to guard them differently if Kevin Durant on the floor you still respect him and different. They've been hanging off non-shooters. They've been able to do different things defensively that they wouldn't still do, even Kevin Durant is seventy five percent. I also think they've been able to mix up things defensively starting advanced late in the second half. It can go smaller. "Who they are and get into an NBA final game with intensity for which they're playing at and think that he's going to be anywhere. Close to an all-star looking boogie cousins. When you look at what will Kevin Durant. Most likely look like don't look at clay, look boogie cousins who missed forty five days. Because when your lower extremities are hurt very seldom are you able to get the type of cardio. So your lungs, you can't run, you can't get up and down the court. "Country. However, you are listening to me. I very much appreciate you doing that. Mike. Go Lee will join the show in one hour, the terrific senior NBA writer and reporter for the athlete he is in Toronto at the post game press conferences in the locker room. We've been doing game to NBA finals post-game warriors evening up the NBA finals at a game apiece. With Klay Thompson missing the last eight minutes. Kevin looney missing the second half the largest run in NBA finals history. Since the NBA merger the warriors, went from the last basket of the second quarter through the first five and a half minutes of the third quarter on a twenty to nothing run, Pascall Siachen came down to earth twenty points. Less in game two than he had in game one. Fred vanfleet took seventeen shots. That's too many. He had Marcus soul come back down to earth, only have a six point game. So Kawais supporting cast did not answer the bell for the raptors who scored fourteen points less than game two than they did gain one. Andrea Guatemala Quinn. Cook DeMarcus cousins, all with big shots for and big moments in the fourth quarter for the warriors, most notably. Andrea Guatemala with less than ten seconds to go drilling. What ended up being the deciding or the shot that put it out of reach? And kind of shocking. But it was it was a championship medal performance. And it also was a likeable performance from the warriors, given that we're not really used to seeing them, be undermanned. Also just a postscript from the last segment. Thank you on Twitter to couple of people actually who sent sent this in, but Mike Reid sent in. Hey, don't forget about that two way player team Jaanus. He might win defensive player of the year. And VP had the highest defensive rating. Yeah. I was doing that off the top of my head. We were just talking about Kawais the best two way player in the sport. And how he can make a team a title contender in the NBA. He's on that shortlist of guys that make you super relevant immediately in the NBA. But yes, yawn, it's absolutely would be on that list. So play in Kurai on the wing. Anthony Davis, my center Jaanus would be the four and maybe we just go. No point guard. And we have Kevin Durant on the team and say they'll figure it out. Out as the five best two way players in the sport. Russell Westbrook be gets on there as a point guard, but yes Jaanus absolutely might win defensive player of the year and VP. So clearly he would be on the two way player list before we get to baseball stupidity. Has been holding patiently. He's out in California. He wants to weigh in on the state of the warriors going forward both for their dynasty and in this series. Eight five five two one two four CBS is the number. What's up Nikolai? Thanks for taking me, Danny. I just want to say that I think a lot of people don't appreciate the warriors, aren't we because they're not like your traditional powerhouse NBA game where they have like some cutting bruiser guy like Moses Malone or shot in and they literally beat up everybody instead, they're, they're all these small guys, Fremont. Green is their small defender of, you know. And I think that's what we kinda freaked out when when they actually are winning the way they do. But quick Trump's also said that it it's not like this one season. They they've been playing a five-year season. They played over five hundred games not, including the Olympics or the world, the world league and the China trip. You know, they probably exhausted and beaten down. Yeah. I think part of it is that, especially for Igwe dollar, I think dollars really breaking down but I appreciate the call. I mean that's not the problem with Kevin Durant. He's popped his calf. You know, the Durant thing was fluky the Klay Thompson injury. Tonight was fluky. He landed really awkwardly on a three pointer. So I don't think that is the totality of the, the warriors run. I think it's hurting the warriors from that standpoint is when they went out and got K D. They gave up their depth so they just they don't even the guys that they're turning to when their main guys go down. Instead of it being Harrison Barnes and a thirty one year old Andre Goodall. It's older Andrei, Dala and Quinn cook, and they don't have Harrison Barnes and Brandon Robinson zeal anymore. You know, their death is just worse because they have more star power. I would agree with that. All right. Nick live the call man. Was this was a championship medal performance from the warriors? They had the road win against the thunder in the first championship year. They seven Western Conference finals last year. And then closing out the rockets in six this year in terms of the, the truly impressive. Like, wow. These are moments. You'll remember of the warriors dynasty in terms of signature wins back up against the wall. You didn't know if they had enough to, to pull it off. You can add game two to the list, Quin cooks. Not supposed to be playing fourth quarter minutes in game two of the NBA finals for a team going for three Pete Jordan. Bell started game one is second round pick. So this team is not nearly as deep as their record suggests. It's just that they're ridiculously talented with their main guys. We'll get back to the NBA and a little bit as we're doing post game for game two all night long. Like I said, Michael Lee, from the F, join me at one PM eastern, but I wanted to discuss baseball stupidity both on and off the field off the field, any minute now assigning could happen that will at least race some of the stupidity of the qualifying offer, and it's basically like I get why the rule was put in place, but it's baseball cutting off its nose despite its face. They have this collectively bargained thing they wanna. To incentivize players. Stay with teams that they are. They have qualifying offers for free agents there. One year seventeen eighteen million dollar contracts and players, usually, if they are good turn them down so that they can hit free agency, so they don't have to sign a one year contract. It's not directly analogous to the franchise tag in the NFL, but it's kind of similar. It's a big contract. It's fully guaranteed. Like all baseball contracts are. And it's one year problem is when you turn it down and you hit free agency. If a team is going to sign you in addition to signing Dallas, kaikal or Craig kimbrel to a three four or five year contract. You also have to give up a sandwich, pick and end of the first round before the second round draft pick in, in the baseball draft. So that has recently last three four years, especially really suppressed the value of those. Players that have draft pick compensation attached to them. And especially pitchers because signing pitchers and free agency is already risky. When you're signing a guy in free agency, and giving up a draft pick, it's even riskier. They've got to figure out a way to solve this problem. Baseball's got a free agency problem. We spent a decent part of the beginning of the show talking about how revolutionary the NBA is being under Adam silver, what they're thinking about doing in terms of adding tournaments, and how the NBA is a three hundred sixty five day your sport because player movement is exciting on July. First. We will know who is making offers of max contracts, which players, they might not all sign right away, but July first free agency by the fourth of July. We will know where a bunch of players are going. Whether it's Kyrie Jimmy Butler, Kemba Walker, Kevin Durant, DeMarcus cousins, like whoever ends up signing right away, multiple guys. We will know right away. What's happening? In major league baseball. You had to twenty six year old stars and Bryce Harper and Manny Machado and both of them are free agents for over one hundred days there was no hot stove. So baseball has all this money, but they're suppressing wages and giving players, the smaller percentage of the revenue and they're not signing it. There's no reason why Craig kimbrel and Dallas kaikal should not be Dallas. Geico is a thirty one year old left hander who had a sub for ERA for the Astros last year in that stadium. Three seven four ERA. He's a former Cy Young winner. He is a two. Any is a two time all star. Seventy six and sixty three career record three six six ERA, seven big league seasons all with the Astros, so he put up all those numbers and all those accolades with all that experience in that ballpark. Thirty one year old left left-hander, unsigned. Craig kimbrel. Seven time all star. He's led the National League in saves twice his strikeouts, per nine innings last year, dropped to a measly thirteen point eight and eight and have a good postseason last year. But also thirty one years old, with a sub to career ERA. These are guys who should be signed within the first seventy two hours of free agency. Not one hundred seventy two days after free agency begins, but as of thirteen and a half minutes ago, there's no longer a draft pick attached to signing Craig kimbrel or Dallas. Kaikal. So hopefully even though we didn't get much of a hot stove this year for baseball fans. Hopefully we get an extended in season. Hot stove trade season. Whatever you wanna call it because with the second wildcard seemingly half the league can talk themselves into being contenders. Every team in the sport has the money to afford these guys. And now there's no draft pick attached to it. So for these players, hopefully they signed by the time most of the country wakes up for work tomorrow. And if not in the next seventy two hours, love the draft. Come and go and actually get these guys signed because. These are huge game changing talents that maybe will sign pro rated one year deals and then be a free agent next year and try to cash in on a long multi year deal without the draft pick attached, but major league baseball should be incentivized in order to fix this problem and get these players signed and get them into camps. You should have them in camps for spring training that will help with season ticket sales. Now, I don't know that Craig kimbrel is moving season tickets. But Manny Machado and Bryce Harper, certainly would have in the offseason and baseball's just got a broken system. They've got so much money and the teams are willing to suppress the wages of their players because there's nothing that's collectively bargain in terms of what percentage of the revenue, the players get now the players get plenty. And they got a strong union their contracts are fully guaranteed but because they're not tied to a percentage of revenue teams and teams don't have to win in order to make money teams are not incentivized the field the most competitive teams and spend the most on their roster and you end up with top. Up seventy five players in the.

"He's already won one in San Antonio for weight as he was a final v. Slice that. Durant is twice that the last two years to remember that. No forgot hurt. No, he had all the people against bothers. There was. Rely out there by himself on both ends carrying the most with this is what LeBron did to make himself. It was very important to me. This is just as impressive, if not more impressive than what LeBron was able to do bringing Toronto to the finals with LeBron been able to bring Cleveland to the funnel. Absolutely. So why not give him the same credit? He's getting the same credit but they're still someone that's better than he's still gives away in credit. The weightlifting analysis didn't work in the football. And now. What are we going to next? I quickly will have a lot of time we can Toronto. Do they have any chance of beating the warriors? No. He was talk by round. I've been trying to build up the drama and the challenge. No, they are eight one in the last two finals and that was against arguably stronger opponents. Certainly one time it was two years ago that Cleveland team. No, it was supposed to be Milwaukee was too deep for the warriors, walkie couldn't even get past Toronto. I Toronto may win again why? But go ahead. Honor may win a game or two. But, like Rick spoke to earlier against experience, that you can never underplay underestimate, what experience does when it comes to the finals, and the lake the excuse me, the warriors, have too much of. Yeah. Look, did I mention I thought Boston was going to be in this situation. I maybe it's wishful thinking. I think that this can be competitive. I think there is a window into it. I don't expect the Katie is going to play in this series. I don't expect that DeMarcus is going to plan the series. There's some question about the health of Andrea Guatemala. I don't believe that they can lose another place. And so if they have to ride their horses, heavy and Toronto can just stay in this. I see a window in which it can happen. Now they're going to have to control the tempo of this game. They're going to have to do what they did to the bucks in the last four, which is we're not gonna play up and down. We're going to play slow we're gonna play 'isolation and we're going to be able to pick those matchup matchups that are advantageous and get enough points out of that. It is a tall order. No question about it. And there's some guys that are brand new to this to this platform. Pasco Siachen is the guy that I'm most interested more rights. But, but that said, if you're asking me is there, a possible, this may be dumb, and dumber, you know, one out of one thousand yes. So you're telling me things with it's a possibility. But I doubt it. No, I think Monto that's the one thing I think pace key in with the young team that hasn't been that you're, you're Tennessee is to get caught up in what's going on in with Draymond rebounding the ball and pushing it every single time it's gonna make every player maybe outside of. I wanna push it right back at them. You know what I mean? And that's the game. They can't play. I heard you say something, I'll Golden State off isolation, while the odd mostly and I've gone this morning, I kept going back and forth, but I landed on. No. Because they don't really have a chance in my fault. Is that Steph curry Klay Thompson? These guys are just going run around circles on offense aveer and Kawai is not going to be honest here. Whereas I let me just sit out of the top key insert. This do down these guys go run him through so many screens. It's going to affect him on both ends of the court. And they're going to nail it and we're gonna pick him. We're losing sight of is this is a seven game series..

"Embarrassing wrestling stories from the wrestlers the rock Dwayne Johnson talks about a time that he had his top leg up on the turnbuckle and he was doing all sorts of Olympic poses. And one of his as he said, one of my boulders, or one of the rocks boulders was hanging out of his wrestling shorts as he drank in the love of the masses and hulk HOGAN made a flight across the to Japan and to wrestle under the giant until an Torius drunk. They drank all flight when they started the fight in Japan under the giant stepped on hulk HOGAN stomach hulk HOGAN pooped his yellow short. Chris Jericho tells an embarrassing store. To rival that on the south beach. And that's all I'm going to say about that. All right. What do you guys think of the following because Andrea Guatemala is telling the athletic and this is always funny to when we have to do this stuff after victories playoff games? We have to decide who's really now the next best player in the world that we have to do we have to figure it out. So Andre Dala is saying that Steph Curry's Steph curry. He's telling the athlete is the second best basketball player ever. Michael Jordan is I he is now saying Steph is second. I mean it's. I don't think that's what Kevin Durant wants to hear certain lebrons upset. Kobe is definitely upset. It would all doesn't care, but that that's interesting. When you consider that many people feel like Kevin Durant. Is that what you were saying during the break is? I hope you fully appreciate what this greatness of this warriors team. I hope people appreciate what they've just seen. You will rarely ever see the games that Steph curry has put together in the playoffs here, and it happened the moment Durant left his statistics. His numbers since Duran left are insane. They are Michael Jordan numbers, rebounds assists. What he done point? What officiency like what Andre dollar saying? They're Andre would dollars sm- is he's basketball smart, man. That dude knew a if the warriors have me as their fifth best player, we're going to be great because when I was filled Delfi is best player, we weren't eight Andrei dollar smart about what it is. He's watching, he's got basketball history. His opinion is shaped by basketball history. And he is watching a guy put together playoff performance as soon as Durant leaves that is unlike most you'll ever see and Euler is I bring it up today's because I have mocked Steph curry for being lousy in the postseason before. But you have to acknowledge this, I guess you can call a six game run. But the four games against the blazers, you could argue it is the greatest Ron for an individual player in playoff history for four game strategy. Maybe the greatest individual conference final ball time and you're so people are clear on the numbers. It's thirty six and a half points per game eight point five rebounds, seven point five percents. Any shooting forty seven percent from the field and forty three percent from three point range way. Did that in the finals Wade did that against the Dallas? Mavericks, he did that. But when he did that the comparison was that's Jordan-esque..

"It's great to have you on Monday. Chris Broussard stopping by perk. Kendrick Perkins Jeff Schwartz in studio, where Colin was right. We're calling was wrong. Forty minutes from now, joy, Taylor. Is joining me it is great to have yen. So I sat and watched every second yesterday. The raptors Milwaukee, it's my job. It's what we do, and my big conclusion, and I felt this by about the, the middle of the second quarter on these, these teams aren't beating Golden State, come on. Come on. Stop love you Drake. Love you the people of Canada loved him. Horton's it's Leonard and four guys terrified to shoot in a big spot. This isn't even the NBA finals. This is just the conference finals. You're at home. If you don't have confidence there. I mean, Fred van bleed. The missed free throws. They are terrified. I mean at some point Colli, Leonard who is even more amazing than the word amazing. Just took it a game over. And it's remarkable a guy can dominate in, in small doses against other great players like that. Toronto's they're not ready to win the NBA finals come on now and I'm watching this yesterday, and I'm thinking, what do we know about Milwaukee? The east is weaker than the west, the Celtics couldn't get their act together all year long in Toronto's a one man team. What do we know about Milwaukee well during the regular season yard Denver was great during the regular season? They couldn't be beat at home during the regular season. Then Denver couldn't get out of the second round in Las three games at home in the mile high city. These are not. These are teams are not beating the warriors warriors are gonna have rest. They're more experienced. You know, it's thinking about this, if the warriors win tonight, and they're all beat up, not just Katie and boogie. I mean Andrea Guatemala. He played eighteen minutes less than he did on average is playoff. So he's hurt. They get nine days off, if they went in Portland tonight. Well, young teams like Milwaukee don't want nine days off. They want to keep playing young teams have the energy they overcome injuries. The warriors have Steph got a finger issue. Andre Igwe dolla had to go to the training room in the first half..

"I made some great passes there to be sure. But so he had a couple of assists to looney on alleyoop. So then he had one way up himself m the blazers just didn't do it. A good enough. Job of rotating off of Andrea Guatemala in those situations, basically the last play where the warriors are up one and dream on got a layup. Seth curry was basically communicating to Dame. All right. I'm gonna I'm gonna sink down inside a looney. You step up to help Andrea and loot actually made a couple of plays helping at the rim unsuccessfully on curry earlier in the game. But he just never moved. He was. So I think mentally exhausted by that time when they gave up the offensive rebound and then Steph moved up office green the largest wasn't in a stance. He wasn't ready at that point. That's where he ended up volume with a little bit of a shove in the back Vondry Madala to shove into stuff's legs. But the stuff got open because lured wasn't ready, another play where Igwe got a back door dunk with stuff flying off screen that was supposed to be Lillard switching on Igwe dolla. He didn't do it. He did the my bad after. So he really had a very bad defensive last three or four minutes off the wall. He did. And it was also a reminder of how hard it can be to defend those four on three actions. The rockets did a really good job for long stretches of the second round, but there were times where it's Evan Turner defending Draymond green driving to the basket with with Kvant. Although trophies you have Van Gundy killed him for that when I reward and rightfully so. I mean did just give up a right hand straight line drive. When all your out there to do is defend. It was just atrocious. Right. And Evan Turner one of my I, I have many beefs with, with Evan Turner but him being on the. That that's not you know, it's like personnel. No, no, no. Just with my thing with Turner on this team as he can provide value, but that value dissipates to almost nothing when Willard and CJ on the floor because you don't want the bonus hands. And when the ball is not in Evan Turner sands, he, he makes life harder and he's not easy. I think they do audit innocence. They like those are the thought is that he can make plays that hark was Amina are going to as it turned out. He tried to make plays in it just didn't work like that. L U to Leonard those pretty decent pass and dream owes a little high play. Yeah. We will have any lower dream on actually deflects. That's true. And I'm and there was definitely contact on that play to me. I thought it was borderline. I would have leaned towards not calling it. I think would do to for me the contact wasn't the reason the play was not finished. So that's why I lean towards it. Not being fell, but reasonable minds could absolutely..

"That's rough. Sure. But but that like I said that is where Steph curry has to. Find that magic that made Steph curry such phenomena fee, a fee nom at Davidson, a phenol when he entered the NBA the guy that essentially carried them with the help of Audrey with dollars finals MVP title in that first year. I just to me this team still has it in there. Like, you said they're hardened veterans guys who have been there guys have one big games guys who've lost big games. And they know what that experience is like, and I think that really matters regardless of who's on the floor for them. Of course, of course, it matters. But I think we're ignoring the fact that this Golden State team they they've done fairly well in the past without Kevin Durant, including that two thousand fifteen two thousand sixteen season where all they did was wind seventy three games not worried about that. This is a complete the problem is it's not that group anymore. They're just not those guys anymore that that twenty fifteen twenty sixteen team with special because. They were hungry. You know, they were coming off of this coming off the two thousand fourteen two thousand fifteen finals win and they wanted to prove that not only were they still the best team in basketball, but they were the best team in basketball history. Now, it's been there done that kind of nonsensical team. And it's just it's not the same feeling. You know, you're not gonna get the same production from Draymond look at dreamland was actually thinking show thirty seven thirty eight percent that year one of his best seasons. As a pro in that seventy three win season, you have Steph curry who was absolutely on fire averaging thirty game. If clay averaging twenty to a game, and you have the defensive versatility of Harrison Barnes and a younger, Andrea Guatemala. This team is not that. It's just not, you know, Shaun Livingston's a shell of himself Andrew bogut as you pointed out still does technically exists on this roster. But he is not the pin defensive player that he was before this Golden State team has. Grown to rely on Kevin Durant and without him. They're going to have some hard times in the future. And I wanted to talk to you before we get off of the playoff thing about this Eastern Conference a little bit. You know, Bavadra has Milwaukee plus twenty two sorry, minus two twenty five the raptors at plus two hundred and seventy Sixers a plus sixteen hundred big big big game for the seventy Sixers tonight. What do you think? The odds are that they win. Thirty five percent. I have no faith in this team..

"Playing well and hard not playing well the way the team is set up but the rockets have such good role players because heir gordon he could get you twenty so if of course paul maybe necessarily have the offense of output is far as points but has a system plays great defense they have trevor reason he can get you eighteen or twenty so they do have other players compared to some other teams who don't have other scores who can get off so in case one of those scores don't it's not the end of the road but for them the recipe for success is their big three which they've been very very successful when all three of them are in the lineup and all three of them playing well and there are certain segments of the game jennif i'm gonna pivot from those two guys for a moment the rockets have to win they have to win the first four minutes of the second quarter and the first three minutes of the fourth quarter those are the times when steve kerr traditionally has sat steph and katy let often revolve around clay tom listen the rockets have been billed as such they have one of the best we talked a lot this year about the bench unit toronto has they have been unit led by gordon that involve gerald green they might dust off joe johnson that we're all lucrative von mujtaba out there to probably guard klay thompson they have to win when the starters are not in the stars are not in that's where the rockets have an edge because the warriors don't have a very deep bench there backup point guards or shaun livingston quinn cook they don't really avid traditional backup shooting guard andrea guatemala he might mean starting lineup i don't think he will be the warriors carry a bunch of centers for reasons i don't understand zaza damian jones jordan bell jail mcgee camman looney they carry five centers because of that they don't have very deep bench of their backup shooting guard is swaggie like you've got to be able to take advantage of the warriors in the time when steph and katy arresting those are key moments but your question about harden harden it's not a.
