"Mortgage tale with our friend, the expert from Cooper, Bone and Joint Doctor David Guilty joins us Now. How are you doing, Doc? Hey, guys, how you doing? We're doing all right. Well, we're sure that you saw on Andre Dillard, who Before this occurred, sustained two injuries in training camp earlier this week, Tor his bicep. And is out for the season. I think the first thing that you know raises people's eyebrows is how does a muscle tear put somebody out for an entire season? S O. What? The vice up there on all the details exactly where it is, but it's usually a terror where the attendant comes off the bone. It's not actually the muscle of South usually On DH when it wears off the bone yet you have to try to put it back together, and that's why it takes a long time. Lunch it you have to do surgery for it, and it can take Norbert For six months just to get your range of motion strength back and then actually play football. You know, it could be upwards of until next year. You know, the One of the one the storylines of this of this training camp Wass. That Andre Dillard and the coaches had said this to him and the trainers had said this time after last season was like you've got to get bigger. You got to get stronger on. But when he got when you had the opportunity to play last year, he was he was getting tossed around on. He was getting pushed around by some of the bigger guys. So they said, Look, you got even though you're 3 10. You know, 305. You've got to get bigger and stronger and he did When he came back this year when he came back. He was clearly I think was like 15 or £20. He had put on Ah, and obviously spending a lot of time. He wasn't just eating his way there. I mean, spending a lot of time in the weight room. Is there a possibility that that extra time spent the weight room that kind of weight lifting strength could make you susceptible to a bicep injury? I mean, it could a lot of that's really just no physics itself as Faras the force in one year You pull their way fell and you know, just the vectors of it. And just unfortunately, you know, attending Can't hold that were attached. Unfortunately, get a, you know, Pop, where pulls off running over that chair. But sure. I mean, you can't have him. We're working out more muscle on one side or the other. And you know, a lot of force on DH just can't handle it. Not sometimes can happen too. Not to get one of the things I heard. I think Mike Lombardi was on the former NFL executive was on with Angelo this week. And he said to his way of thinking this is usually an injury sustained by an older player. Would that would you follow that? Would that make any sense? I mean, if he had some issues with the issue of the bicep tendonitis issue that was just Chronic problem that can be kept coming and going that Khun, sometimes weak in that area, caused some inflammation or some scar tissue, And then it's weaker. So from that standpoint account if you have a prior injury or, you know other issues. I'm saying, I think that's why you mentioned about older athletes because it has a lot of injuries over the time. Listen, I think I'm correct on this, Ray. You would. No. Isn't this the injury that Chuck but Merrick suffered During a game and is the muscle like rolled up like a like a blind the window shade like a window shade into his home, and he kept playing. Is it in my hearing? And I remember that correct? That is, Yeah. Tom Brooks are told me that story that he tour the bicep and the muscle. Actually, the bicep muscle actually slid down into his forearm. Ah and the Chuck took his other hand and pushed and pushed the muscle back up with his own hand above his elbow and then tape tape. His elbow toe hold the bicep in place and went back in to play the second half of an exhibition game. Dr Gelder. Is this with the medical advice that you would offer a hand? That's a different world back then, But, yeah, it was probably not advised to do that. I already got me any other question. The last question I have for Dr Guilt is You know, I've said it. I've said a couple times now in the last few weeks, I'm really concerned about the start of this NFL season. It's coming. We're talking with Dr in less than two weeks away, is right around the corner on training camp hasn't been anything like a traditional training camp. There's been no real off season here. The workouts have been very light had been largely walkthrough type of things. But yet when the bell rings September 13th I mean nobody's going to holding back. I mean, the guys are going to be going 100%. My great fear is that the first month of the season we might see just a ton of injuries on my being over. I might be an alarmist about that. Or do you think that possibility really exists? I know for sure. That's definitely a possibility. That's why we have trained camper preseason there, you know, go down to Florida for for baseball you when I get warmed up, you want to get conditions so that one start Ariel, you're warmed up and you don't have these injuries, But, yeah, we're definitely seeing some soft tissue issues, You know, initially be conditioning, no cramping stuff like that, but hopefully Don't see some drastic issues, which may be a problem. It's going to be an odd year. Alright, Doctor Gil anything I always cut you off and you always have one more thing on your mind that you want to share. I I do actually have Ah, awesome. Documentary that I haven't seen it, but I'm really looking forward to it enough. When you came. Glenn's down here there. There was a It's sort of like a amusement park. It's called Action Park that was up in Mount Vernon. Um, but they have a documentary on HBO. It's called Class Action Park. Short of that in the eighties has to do with Cem. Wall Street stuff, but also the Parkers pretty intense with these intense rides and people got hurt I killed had like kids. Working the ride that weren't supposed Teo is interesting. I was there. And you know, it was almost like a badge of honor. If you get there any if you survive, you'll get hurt, But then you get home at the end. Yeah, and in the name of the documented class action parking, and it's on now or soon to be on HBO. I'm not sure of its on yet at a friend of mine sent me they clip or the story about it, so I don't know if it's coming out yet or it is, but it's something that you may want to get. Always looking for a good TV tip. Dr Guilt. You're a font of great information We always appreciate talking to you. Guys. Thank you. Thank you so much. Appreciate it. Does that Does that place ring a bell with you? That's definitely was I moved here. In November. 86. I do not remember that place action parks that mean anything to you, right? Yes. No, I didn't know anything about it until I think I probably read the same article that his friend read. I've read. It's sort of an advance. Hey, watch this. It's coming. Preview kind of thing. That was the first time I had heard about it, but it did sound interesting. I made a note that this is something I would like to see. Yeah. Okay, let's talk a little bit more about the Eagles, and we'll open the phones raise here for about another. Whatever. 14 15 minutes, then we're going to go to the pre game show. Ray. We talked about the offensive line talked about it The best move they may have made this offseason Howie Roseman smartest thing may have been bringing back Jason Peters for three million. After Brandon Brooks got hurt. Now we all kind of think he's going to left tackle and Matt Prior is going to play guard the name that doesn't come up..

"If you're Howie Roseman, Howie Roseman totally screwed this up. Yet you're somehow figure out a way to defend them. Still, what I'm telling 100. Dillard wasn't supposed to be there when we drafted it, and that's why they moved up and grab them. Yeah, That was my idea. And I like getting value there. I certainly do. I like the pick it first. I liked Andre Dillard at first, But the point is, if you're Howie Roseman, how on earth do you not put the time in? And just for every contingency entering, that's fair to say you live in tendency. I mean, you didn't put the time in on Andre Dillard. Well, I mean, look, he obviously did enough. Never met. Before he was drafted. Joe. My high school coaches had been in contact with NFL teams for years for several years before I was drafted. They were told. Don't interact with John. But we're doing our homework. Yeah. My high school coach is my high school running backs coach like they he was talking with proteins. And we never even met this way. And I'm not a first round draft pick for you right now. Look, if you think about that is notable that the Make up of him. You know the How tough is he thing? How mentally How physically tough, you know it was pretty obvious right out of the gate last year in training camp. Look, I know JAnderson people to wonder whether this injuries even really yesterday. I don't know. Maybe it is. Maybe it isn't. I don't know that either. I mean, look, he gets hurt in some practice. It is inconvenient injury. I was seriously I was thinking how How can they figure out a way to get this guy? Might I r but here, But here's the thing. Here's the thing. And John I. I don't disagree with you that it's a horrendous traffic. Everyone obviously recognizes that it is But I don't think it's one of those things to me. It didn't It doesn't surprise me that you when I'm sure others and we'll see where everyone's that at 21559 to 94 94 that the anti Howie Brigade will start marching out right from from from Bucks County from Delko from Jersey across bridges, you know, like here we go right again because here's the deal. It's a It's a mistake of a pic and it's a bad pick, and it's a setback and all of that is what it is. But it doesn't mean John. It's like it requires an overreaction that I do expect for many. An overreaction that basically creates this big like it's a huge mark against Howie Roseman. Here's a Joe. Yes. Jarrah, Tana. Huge marks against Howie Roseman as it pertains to drafting its Let's think about think about okay. Andre Dillard. Yeah, but J. J r Think Whiteside too. That was pretty bad. Well, that looked bad. Sidney Jones feels pretty bad, Cindy Heroic. Arnett is not the guy that we thought we were getting barn. That's not nearly as bad as shooting. Let me just say this, John, if you trust the general manager, and I do trust Alby Roseman, I also really feel hold on Geoffrey lives. Why you you over. Trust how he wrote. I trust how blind faith is not why I write. Let me answer question. Why do I trust Howie Roseman? I trust Howie Roseman. Because I think he emerged evil. Well, I'll get there, but I can't start there Layoffs three years in a row, they're kind of big things John winning the Super Bowl and making the playoffs three years in a row. I mean, it's pretty notable, so, Yeah, OK, I'll start Daryl and there again in a moment, but I'll start there. Yeah, thank you. Super Bowl on making the playoffs three years in a row. Okay, so Super Bowl That has worn off this. This team is significantly worse than they were when they won the Super Bowl. Every year. They've gotten worse, increasingly work that also typically happens. See, that's the thing I think they're not not always. It's not. You can't say it's typical. That happens if you are a if you are a powerhouse organization. Right? It shouldn't have. Okay. Yes, some sometimes paying your quarterback puts agenda in your ability to bring in top notch guys. Yeah, I just like teams typically backslide after one of Sir ball there was that win two in a row three in a row, which, by the way, never happened. Pro football history to underwrite Patriots to die. They don't typically Backslide. It's hard to get there. I just proved that with all the variables and football, it's hard to keep everyone healthy enough to get out. If you're really let me we'll ask this question it to 155 1994 94 for everyone. The dealer thing and look again. I think we're all going on the assumption that they're better team without him, which which isn't good, right? That's not good. I mean, the idea is not drafted first round pick, move up to get him give up capital to get him and then say you're a better team in year two when he's either really injured or not so injured But he's out for the year in training camp, and you got to bring you know the old man Peter's back over the left side. And throw a prior in the right guard, Right? That's not a good way to get there. The basic question against amongst other things, is. Is this a major mark against Howie Roseman? Like when you digest the news? As an Eagles fan? I mean Dillard's out. But again when you put in the caveat that most people assume that they're better without him. Is that is that Andre Dillard? Pick a major mark, if you're Jeffrey Laurie. Should it be? Will it be You was a fan, a major mark against how we 21559 to 94 90 General. That's a major mark. But I think the bigger question is how on earth are you still such a staunch defender of howling? I'll tell you why there are in the armor. Howie Roseman is not perfect, and he's far from it. He's made more mistakes than great moves. Recently. I'm not saying that's who how he is. I'm saying how he is not who I thought he was when he won executive of the year. It's been a down downhill slide ever since. And you refused to acknowledge on here's Here's where I'm at is that are horrendous Pick off course it's a horrendous pick. Here's why, In my opinion, it's not a major mark against him. If you believe in someone as general manager and I d'oh believing, how would I think anything Laurie does. And you know you're gonna have this guy for you know, 10 years 10, plus years you're going tohave your mistakes. See, this is the thing I've been trying to preach all off season to everyone, And I'm curious where everyone's that on this issue at +21559 to 94 94 like Don't expect the Eagles general manager to bat, you know, 700, or like you did in 2017 9 in baseball terms, he hit 900. Yeah, that was not that was not replicable. My point is like it's like if you're dating someone Person might have some flaws, right? Although it is the dating an hour. Maybe, Sir sama life advice kind of guy. I like that. You know, you guys know the deal. Tell us what does that tell us about the dating? Well, I'll just say this no personal stories attached here, but But here's the deal. I mean, you know the deal. If you're dating someone, or married is someone that person might not be perfect might have some flaws. But if if you if you love her, or you love him, right, you've got to accept the person for who they are right? Because the idea is Hey, this is why I want to be with we'll wait. So I belie my believing her. Howie is based upon his performance. I'm sure just say okay, I love how we therefore I'm going to accept his performance. Not that's not how it works, Joe. That's not what I'm saying. We don't have to hold him to a higher standard, the standard that he set in 2016 2017 like that's no longer happening. That I think we've identified the flaw. Well, I will change you. Will you have feelings for Howie? It's not and it's true. And you are not viewing his actions in a fair way. Because of that, love, I'm going to remove your word love. All right. You know what started different works that were exact Note. Whatever Trust Well, I don't and I do, and I do, And that's my point. Even with the Dillard miss it and guys, let's be real. It's a big missing. I still implicitly trust Howie Roseman. If you're going to have a guy be a general manager for 10 years, a every once in a while in the first round, every once in a while in the first round..

"Friday morning, Beautiful day throughout the Delaware Valley sports, obviously rolling on, and that includes the Phillies. And the Atlanta Braves tonight, starting up a Siri's in Philadelphia Phils back after a road trip back in Philly against the Braves tonight. Flyers Islanders Game three will be tomorrow at noon. They just adjust the schedule so basically takes the place of what Game four would have been. Eagles started 16 days and they'll do so without Andre Dillard, first on draft pick from last year out for the year. Obviously J p. Jason Peters left tackles. The Assumption. We got a lot to get to him. We'll do it all with you on the phone lines today to 1559 to 94 94 again to 155 1994 94 rich rich. Joe, you know, none of the Beatles knew how to read music. Is that what you want? What does that mean? What do you mean? Was that mean? Well, the reading music thing I'm just trying understand what their notes notes, Right? Thie f she News a thie, Rene. I used to know that stuff like a very little bit Well, so how is lost? Well, I have. So how is it that they're the Beatles and don't know how to read music? None of the Beatles notary music. Paul McCartney later taught himself how to read music. But it's ah mean the most prolific banned in many people's opinion. The greatest band ever live. None of them read. Music proves you don't need to really know how to be classically trained to be a musician correct And the problem is, But it is pretty incredible, though this but the problem's been Sim is going to hear that think. Oh, I don't need to shoot a jump shot. See it can be done without the tell Ben. Yeah, a ban Abe. In case you haven't noticed all the beetles, not the beetles, practice reading music every day all day. That's all. They did actually pretty amazing. Good fact to 1559 to 94. 94 John Andre Dillard Out done for the year. Peters obviously the assumption of left tackle. Um you know, it's wild, better team. And that's bad. But the general true, though the general assumption around it wasn't my first thought, and that was an honest to God that there was a There were several points this preseason when I was thinking, how are they going to figure out how to get Andre Dillard on that I are Like this is failed. Every indication is that this guy doesn't have what it takes, especially between the years to get this done. I bet he gets dinged. And somehow finds him because you know it does happen. Let's be realistic. Here. It does happen. And Ah, yeah, it's just the Eagles are better with him off the field. So even though Jason Peters is going to play 70% of the snaps, and they're going to have to scramble to try toe support him back him up. You know, he will miss. Ah, few plays every game and probably a few weeks and by the way, the Matt prior effect also, I mean, let's not lose sight of the fact Eagles just added a new starter who has not started for the Eagles in any worthwhile way before. So now you got him a guard Matt Prior. I think talking about tomorrow. I think Matt prior at guard must be better than Andre Dillard Ed tackle because at least Matt Prior has some chutzpah. I mean, he's been good because that's right is right, but it's a little huts, but it's a far cry from you know where they were Brandon Brooks. And so I mean, it does. Yeah, you know, look to may and again, we'll get into it a 2155 1994 94. I think it's fair to say the Eagles just got better now, Obviously, that's not the way You want to get better? You want to have your first round draft pick from the prior year. Be ready to step in in your two as a starter, and he better be ready Sally Field on that front, But this is that honestly, this is the best case scenario for this Eagles team for this season. There now. A little bit better then they would have been otherwise. Carson went to Mile Sanders, you know, probably have. Ah, they might not admit it, but probably there their role as quarterback and running back, you know, passing and rushing. Just got a little easier for those guys. Maybe even a lot easier without Andre dilating there. Now there is the the effect. John Off the Dillard Peck and and what it represents, because the reality is like we shouldn't be having this conversation. Okay. No NFL fan base should have a conversation in year two of a first round draft pick. You know what Better off without him like that is a horrendous conversation, A really bloom and and obviously Jonah, and this is where and I know it's gonna happen. And I know you're gonna be part of it. I mean, least I assume you will. The anti Howie Brigade is going to come marching out wearing the way your talk. They're suggesting you're on the pro. How you won the pro out again, and I thought you've learned from the mistakes of your past. This is Yet another inexplicable example of Jodi camera defending. I don't know. Like owners defending G M's They I don't know why this is, Is it because you fancy yourself a quasi GM yourself know that you're going to be like you. There are some things that are indefensible. In my mind drafting Andre deal, and we've never really talked about this drafting a player that you have never even met. Drafting a player that you did not put the requisite research into Allah Andre Dillard is Unforgivable..

"Know how good receivers looked pretty much been across the board and I think the know natural reaction to that go well, that must mean that the defensive backs have been bad. But I really haven't felt that way though either like I think slaves been fine. I'm not worried about Alex sleigh. First of all, 'cause you know he's a veteran, a veteran quarterback quarterback I like watched every one of his snap last year very clearly that guy can cover again lost that ability late I've concerned with him but clearly he can cover and he's going to be able to cover this year but I think the other cars have played really well to like Maddux as you've mentioned has. has had a good camp RC has had a really good camp created on sounded good camp. I think their corners are going to be a lot better this year than they were a year ago, which is Kinda weird both receivers in the corner seems to be playing while but it's just kind of reality of what's happens our gap agree with that I don't think the secondary has been like that by any means. maddox is going to get beat sometimes just because he's not big enough but the plays sticky coverage and I'll take that I mean obviously you WanNa Guy Ideally is bigger and complex sticky coverage but I'd rather take the guy still that isn't gonna get totally like toasted and be out of position all the time like at least is going to be in the right place any contests and he can jump. So he's GonNa not he loses every jump ball like he's in position to contest some of these. So yeah, I feel fine really about the corners, which is a weird thing to say about the eagles because usually not the case but. Receivers, corners, all the sudden. Those positions are looking better and the trenches aren't lacking as a great. In the defensive line has been gooding camp, but also I think that part of that is because the has been good. Yeah. This'll be noted I wanted to say this earlier like. Onto Lion was not looking great even before you know like these injuries like the the latest injuries like when they had basically what they're going to go into the season with an how it's even lesser although again, you can argue it's better than the short term and Man I really just not not hard on that again but I just I don't really like what does that do to the scenes outlived hurt a lot. Yeah for sure. I can. Just. The number of injuries at had his crazy already with brooks and dillard John Hargrave Derek at like one. Does it add scripts crazy every year I mean, what do you do a certain point? The line situationally I don't like what else were. They even supposed to do I mean obviously not draft trae up for a tackle who is in good. But even if he was good, it's still big issue. It's a young is that it's happening to now to like dealer second-year Guy Hargraves never had an injury really before he goes down Barnett you know does how that injury history, but he is a young Guy Brooks maybe a little predictable now that he went down shirt these these out of injury problems swell but like it just the never ending string of injuries with this team is just crazy to me like I just put the other like a like a sort of a tracker of all the Eagles opponents this year. Injuries that they've had a none of them had as being injury problems eagles have so far none and yields also hired a new medical staff on in the season, right? Like they added a whole new trainer and a whole new like director Rehab or whatever guy they've added new people to. So and from teams that were healthy on the I had talked about early the running guys from the Vikings and Rams who've been to the healthiest teams recent years. So you know yeah, there's certainly trying like I give them credit. Forever. But it's it's not panned out far. Any final thoughts here to me by guest before we wrap wrap up on a sombre of the speech, radio. I think I'm okay in final thoughts this week or this today yeah. fame I just man like I just I don't reconcile I. Don't like a lot of things like you'd say all right this is bad but it's not the end of the world like this could be I mean not the little end of the world but ended the football season I. Guess final thoughts. Obviously a lot bigger going on the sports right now speaking of end of the world with Social Justice Conversation Alfred today in full teams in the NFL side the cancel or postpone, and obviously the NBA cancel their games on Wednesday night although they will be resuming. It looks like at some point here no-fly tonight no fires game tonight with NHL. Channeling, and in this kind of stuff is not outfield. CD doesn't come from you to talk about this. A lot of good voices out there. I feel like but it's probably still important to talk in voice thoughts. You have those I would just say like I, I think something that I think about a lot is there's this like it really. Hurts me that there's a lack of empathy in the world and I like to think I'm a somewhat of an impact to me and I can kind of you know put myself in other people's shoes in a lot of ways I fail to do that and I wish I could do better but it just kinda hurts me when I look at. It Look Doc rivers like crying. Yeah. Telling you about how like you know like and look at all these people hurting a lot of black people hurting and like I just you know like we have to listen to those people and like and like trying to help them and do things to wear when we don't keep getting into the situation where you know there's you know there's there's this outrage in it's justified because people are hurting and they feel like they're not listened to. Isn't happening and I guess like it's so Felton Kerns by using some of the stuff that Rodney McLeod and Jill Mills in parlance I'd say after practice. Yeah, and it's just. So I, don't know I'm not GonNa be a great voice. Inside a reason here. I'm a white male I'm very I've been very privileged and very fortunate and I'd probably take I do take that for granted I can never understand the plight of some of these people that are that are these black people and minorities who are hurting and have been discriminated against it's it's really hard. It's really hard to see It's even a billion times harder for them than it is for me obviously and I just I wish I guess my wis that's my thought. That's where my thought is as I just wish we had more empathy and we can, and as a people, we could just not be so. Divided and just Kinda come together and and not trying to say utopia here. Obviously, there's GonNa be differences of opinion but like a wish. have an understanding look these people are acknowledged that validate that recognize that and like understand like we've we've worked stealing we need to there's there's a lot of work to be done in the world like a lot of improvement that has to be made while said, did you see one quote.

"Is that confirmed, like all right. You can leave it out there, Elliot, your parks are Eagles reporter and he was in the middle of a go. Birds podcast. I believe when news broke Andre Dillard, According to reports out for the season. What's up E s p. Just never, ever ever boring day with this camp, Never boring day. Listen, I am And so, Jack. We have and we actually have breaking news with Elliot on the on the phone. Breaking news. The Eagles are not going to have fans in the stadium this year, and that's they say all games. Or is this subject to change until further notice until further notice which what they should say? So the Eagles at least to start the season will not have fans in the stands. So, like you just said it never ends. So you're right. It doesn't end No, it never does. I mean, look, I think this was a movie that was expected. I don't think people thought there would be fans in the stands for weeks to when they open against the Los Angeles ran. I mean, there will be stands in week. One Kansas City brother for the Chiefs. I mean, not here in Philadelphia, but I guess, until further notice leaves some hope, but Yeah, I think nobody really expected there'd be fans of season at the lake. Um, I mean, I don't know. I was still wondering if they were going to do I mean, listen, didn't can't city do 20% under the Dolphins are also saying a small percentage like that. I I was I did. I wasn't sure if it was going to be something like that. I guess it's possible and they leave the door open with the You know for now, I guess that's what they're paying for the no fans, But ultimately, I think, and you'll see this with both protocols around the league and also it happily candle stand. If this season starts, it is going well. I don't think you're going to see them make a lot of changes, because if they can get a system that's working, making a big change like that, like having fans in the stands or Changing some protocols in the Nova care Look, We all hope things get better, obviously around the country with this, But once the NFL find something that's working, I don't think they're going to make changes and risk the season, then being in trouble. All right, so eagles, at least to start the season. No fans will be there. Alright. Back on Dillard. Elliot isn't as simple as Jason Peter slides over to left tackle. Matt Prior becomes your right guard. They maybe look somewhere else to get some depth on that line. And is it really that simple? You think Yeah, I think it is. And look. It's sad for Andre that he got hurt. I think there's some serious long term ramifications for the fact that he's going to miss this school season. I mean, you're going to go into your three Not knowing who who he is, is a player. But today the Eagles offensive line is better for Jason Peters being at left tackle and Matt Prior being at right guard. I think Matt Prior will do a good job at right guard team seem confident and in prior to bring in Jason Peters I know that Lane and Chelsea both really like him a lot as a player, and Jason Peter last year was an elite level left tackle. I mean, the stats say that I know people like to point to the penalties and you know some of the Ms Games, But when he was out there, Carson went had a Queen pocket and ultimately, that's what's most important so Sondre thing is a long term question. But after watching this offensive line look disastrous, everyday in camp. So far, the idea of Jason Pierre is going to laugh tackle, I think gives the team a better chance to succeed this year. Yeah, it may make him a little better and left tackle. I just don't know how much better it makes the office of line overall. From a Deb standpoint, it obviously makes him weaker because Matt Prior who may be good for two or three weeks in a pitch, or he may be good to get you through a game. Now you're asking him to be out there for 16 weeks. On performing a high level position where quite frankly, the deepest of tackles in his league have become justice. Gonna pass rushes the guys on the outside, so I just I mean, I guess it's good that Jason Peters is here and everybody isn't scrambling, looking for tackles. They would have called him anyway. Even if he wasn't here. They would be caught. They will be calling him right now. Padre Diller sustained his injury without Peter's being here. I'm just concerned, Elliot part to this injury, even with a healthy Andre Dillard. I've been concerned about this offensive line, man, and I just I'm just worried that this will be the undoing. Of this team because of you and your office of light can't protect and you can't run block. How is this offense going to be effective? I mean, you're gonna put Carson in the position to making Buck. Every play. That's what you're gonna do. I agree with you today I was at practice and offense was look was looking great. John Hightower is making great catches. Karl had a really nice throw two Deontay Burnett. One snap, and I thought like, Wow, What are my concerns about this offense? Then I look and it was a seven on seven and deal offensive line was right. This offensive line is going to like When I ranked issues with this team. It's offensive line, and then I really don't have any other issues. I mean, I think every other unit so far in camp has exceeded expectations. But to your point, Ike Offensive line is so critically important. That really changes thing now where I would put back on you with. You know, the Matt Prior thing is yet replacing Brandon Brooks. Matt Prior, the huge drop off. I agree from Jason Peterson. Matt Prior. I'm not assure. I mean, Jason Peters was not getting a lot of work at right guard. I think overall, Doug has really kind of given his veterans of light light workload and training camp, so he wasn't getting a ton of practice. You've never played the position. Matt prior unknown, but he's at least been coached up the position for two years and running and I had confidence in Jason Peters, but I just think you're better at left tackle now, and that's amore important positions. Then, right guard. Your overall point about step is also true. It's a major problem, but the most important position now they're better at so that at least one thing to feel good about it. You're Carson. Yeah, yeah, I just I just I just don't I just I'm wondering it that they They could still go out and make a move. I mean, like they not necessarily a trade, but I can imagine how we Is looking at the waiver wire is going to be watching it closely. There are no preseason games, so that doesn't help you to be able to evaluate players on another team is there is there you probably haven't had a chance to look yet. Ah, a CZ faras veteran free agents that could be available that they could possibly bring in here on a minimum deal or something like that. Anybody out there ring ring a bell to you that the Eagles could be interested in You know, I like you said. I haven't had a chance to look at the free agent yet. What I would say, though, in terms of the trade one thing to consider with Andrew Dillard long term is it would not shock me if they invested a little bit more than you think in a backup left tackle that they could develop because you don't know what Andre is going to be. Jason presumably is not back in 2021. So this is a question mark. It left tackles. I'm the Eagles. The fact that right now behind Jason Peters, you don't have a single tackle on the roster that's taken a snap in the NFL. It's Jason Peters Lane Johnson and that they have two rookies in Georgia, My Lotte, So you have to bring somebody in I think, by the time the Eagles practice on Saturday, you'll see a veteran in here the very latest by the beginning of next week, and I think the trade is very possible because you have to get somebody in here. You actually thinking develop into something for 2021 so if they can trade The fourth round pick for a young tackle that has some experience, but it also has some upside..

"For me personally. Like I I care more about the athletes as people and I think that a lot of times fans get caught up in the fact that yes they also yeah and and to me. You know I if people are so quick to to blame Brett Brown or blame the medical staff or blame the front office or say that it's a business and talk about that and all of those things factor in do. I think there's a chance that we get an announcement about the rest of Ben Simmons season based on after the season ticket pass. Yeah I think there's a chance that that happened. Do I think that Brett Brown said Oh. He's fine hopefully. Do I also think that the medical staff is always dead on no. Do I think that Ben? Simmons didn't advocate to go play in that game after sitting out against the nets which no Kyrie whatever but you know what? Kyri hasn't his shoulder and he tried to fight through and come back and now backing out and it was a new thing and now he's having the surgery on it you've done for the year. Yeah Yeah it's so tricky with Baxter. Everything's everything connects to the back. Obviously so like there's so many ways that like it can affect the shot it can affect the speed it can fact everything is dropping. Obviously so yeah. It's it's so difficult the one thing I am not about a show L. because they've come out they've come out and said his shoulder is non structural damage or whatever so basically he just has a sore shoulder any setting out when your top guy while you're other superstar is not even play. You're trying to make the playoff push your team needs you and you're just like yeah. I'm chilling I'm feeling it but I don't think that's I don't think that's as much as you like. There's no structural drivers nothing's toward it's basically saying nothing's torn that doesn't mean he didn't sprain or string thumping and human like he there's an Iranian but it's not torn yep but it's playable in my eyes it's not your shooting are. I don't know I just think that. Like if you really have like that we have to make the playoffs Blah Blah Blah. I want to prove on the best in the world about you suck it up and you play your damn off and then you go and you get it. You sit for the days until the next game. I see what you're saying. I just also like they're not going to not make the playoffs at this point. I don't think they can not not make the playoffs. A I agree that they have to go with some sort of push here but you also have to be able to rely on you know. I hate to be this person to say this but like you have to be able to rely on the two guys that you paid over you know gave over one hundred million dollar contracts to to to be able to help carry you know. I I. I completely agree like I'm not saying this is Joel Job. But when you're going to say you're the best in the world in that year you WanNa be so great you WanNa be one of the best of all time. This is a big factor of putting that out there. You know what I mean like. It's not just about stats or anything like it's about it's about playing through things you know. So just be as all about factor together and I'm just like what really but at the same time if it's really if it's if it's as sore as it was when he was shooting those free throws after and he looked like he was a lot of pain during those free throws if that's how he is going to have to play he's not going to be any use of anything on the floor anyway. He's not going to be able to do anything he's not gonNA be able to give you points he's just GonNa clog up space and then we're going to have to listen to all of the media in all of the world talking about how he's fat out of shape oh he's more injured the sixers or letting him play he should be always gonNA get hurt more. Oh he can't play. Oh we need to trade Joel embiid. Like there's there's so much crap that has gone on this season that at this point on Nadi that didn't even cross my mind like him not trying to like put in extra hard to play. That never crossed my mind until you just said it right now like. That's how much else I think has gone onto season. That thought you're at their. I mean there's a lot it just that's my athletes sent like a mine. You know what I mean like I just think of it as like on the best throwing competitive nature exactly like I win. I'm going to do whatever I need to. I have cover off season that your competitive nature you throw yet house shoot from the top felt rose. I am and I get it I would do. I would be the dirtiest basketball player. I told you this before. I would be Christian lately like they have that. I Hate Kirschner. I love Christian Laettner because I would be him. I play I would throw bows Ivy Dirty Alcaraz only win. So that's the sixers. Yeah the SIXERS ARE INTERESTING. And they have a great role little road trip. Coming up. Clippers Lakers kings warriors. Hashtag yikes see on the other side of that. One sixers fans the lawyers. They're actually doing well. Though they want a game on the road with Carter Goal Love. You love the attitudes surrounding the team. Kevin Hayes playing up to the contract foreign to play in Philadelphia to be completely honest. Third-place spot obviously need to continue winning to keep that spot secure potentially move up very excited and they have a little win streak going so hopefully by the time this comes out. They still have gone but we'll say they have game tonight so depends on the Rangers. Yeah but again. They don't lose the help. Yeah True Dat True Dat so hopefully by the time. Everybody's listening this it's five straight. Who would have thunk it that the flyers would be the best most positive team in Philadelphia? Right around it's not I love it. Yeah I'm excited. I'm excited. There are still people that don't WanNa get committed to the flyers because they think they're gonNA get heartbroken but it's fun it enjoyable to watch their team to watch because they're so talented and they're so young so that's the thing is the most exciting part is like it'll be like this for years to come. Now Yeah Fun it's fun. It's very very fun. The phillies just touch on them briefly. Spring training started. We talked about that a little bit last week. So far out bombs looked really good. Clearly lighting for for that potential to make the big league roster showy belongs there Gnc Gore. I will say shutting. Those fifteen pounds has noticeably helped him a little but you can just Kinda see how he looks. Just a little bit quicker in different situations Which pretty impressive which I love love to see. It did just come. Author Andrew. Mccutchen will not be ready by opening day. Which is unfortunate that nasty? Just break it just. It came up on the top of my phone as we were doing this. So Dang on he won't BE READY WHICH IS UNFORTUNATE. But you know back this season. He's working really hard. I don't rush back at all these in order. He needs to take his time getting back. Yeah Bryce Harper four feet shy of a grand slam today bases clearing double instead. I'll take there are guys. I'm excited I'm seeing a lot of good stuff from these kids like the younger guys like Luke Williams. He's utility guy. I covered him across cutters. Been getting a lot of time. He had a home run the other day on. Nick May Thanh had like a grand slam or something or Derrick Hall but like all three of those guys they've been they've been doing good and they're like younger guys. They woN'T BE UP ANYTIME SOON. But it's just nice to see that kind of production from the phillies farm system like already at this level it. Yeah so frustrating mentally after you know not having it exactly. It is so frustrating not being able to watch the games because like during the season. Obviously obviously it's different like you WanNa Watch or like bragging on the staffs if you can't want to you're going to be like looking at like the hits like we're what are they doing right now with. Spring training like it's more of like that feeling that baseball's back so you WANNA be able to watch it on TV and see the nice weather and be like Like kind of like you're living it and now they're not nobody's today trading stats.

"L. somewhere as Bonnie bad the sixer? That's what happened to the sixers. That's funny goodbye. Just but here's here's the okay. So the sixers win at home. They lose on the road. That is what it is at this point. No one on my my theory about that like. Yeah it sucks and it's infuriating. Now I think when it's a playoff because everybody would we do when we're like the six seed and we have to play on the zone and play offs? I I honestly think it'll be a different story in the playoffs because it's such a different atmosphere one and to your mindset so much different true. Here's my only concern Joel. Embiid investments are currently hurt. So we just got the news last night. I guess Thursday night it came out. There is no structural damage in his shoulder. Which is Great? So it's GonNa be about high pain tolerance and after a week we'll see where he is the reevaluate and then we'll go from there. Ben Simmons is a different story so they said reevaluate two weeks. Now nerves are the most unpredictable. Heart of your body that you can injure because you mean it's nerve. You never know declare whenever yeah right and it could be you. Also don't know what his symptoms are so Someone explained it to me in the sense of like it could be on his back but it could. He could have this hanes shooting down his leg. That's equivalent to lend when you hit your funny bone. Yeah it like numbs tangles your head. So that's like going down his legs. That could be a symptom. I don't know what his symptoms are but like that could be something he's dealing with. So is the one who's opting to do the treatment as a shot and you know really if the shot doesn't work I think ultimately the end result is going to be. He's going to have to have surgery to fix it a little bit bad. But if he's like James Right that's he's choosing to do the shot her personally. I have.

"Maybe who knows but Reggie regularly scheduled program? Yes so today. We're going to get into our next section of the WHO stays who goes kind of free agency conversation. We're going to go with offensive lineman this week mainly the eagles have legal. Only have two offensive line free agents this year Eaters they big ones big with a lot of conversation. So Jason Peters and Are Your Two free agents this year? Jason Peterson probably one of the most talked about free agents for a number of reasons to. Let's just start off their SAM. Jason Peter Stay or go your opinion. He needs to go. Obviously I respect the hell out of him. Great Career Great Guy at least Helen bamber. Yeah Yeah I respect him so much. But he's thirty seven their whole motto. That they've been running with this whole offseason so far as getting rid of the one year deals and going for younger guys rebuilding kind of in that way and so to me. It just does not make sense to bring back. Jp 'cause it would be a one. Max Deal is thirty seven years old. We've seen you even though he can still play. He's getting slower. Needs get injured. He can't play like use. So it's only a matter of time you have Andre Deal. There's no reason that you would even draft Andre Dillard if you were gonNA keep j. p. this you know what I mean and it does in survey because Howie Roseman. Came out Monday earlier earlier this year earlier this week. He kinda hinted that he might keep. Jp which makes me super concerned and not just is right. There is like one on one. What not to do is let your emotions get in the way of how to run a team. And that's exactly what that was to me so that concerns me but me. I say now he goes. I know because now. I'm concerned with that comment. So I is super great. Personally I think you know I. It's run its course. I think he needs to go. I think we need to cut that off right now You know as you said how he kind of mentioned how important is the organization and then Doug Straight up said he wants him back and if he's back he's a starter To me you know. They're kind of two ways to go with this one You Know Doug also came out and said micro is my offensive coordinator and fired him. The next day crew. Very true but also. There's there's the other question that you know. It is a little bit scarier in you know. I think it more poses. The question about Andre diller progression their confidence in him. I I do take some some things. That duggan Howie say with a grain of salt just because all their press conferences are very positive. They're never going to you. Know they usually don't say something with a lot of really definitively. They don't usually come out and do that. Unless there's a definitive decision that's been made but you know in that situation. I would have liked them to see you know he was really important to our organization. But you know we're we're still weighing all options but you know we did draft Andre Dillard in the first round. No He is supposed to be our left tackle the future. You know things like that is something. I would have preferred to hear over what I did here. Yeah and I totally agree with that and to me. It's interesting that you bring up the point that like. Maybe they're not seeing what they wanted to from. But that even confused me a little bit just because I mean obviously they know more than us am knew what they're looking for but for us like a little above average family. We know what to watch for. Usually heald's good when he was in there and When they put him on the opposite side obviously that didn't work hard at the network now. But that's our anybody that's used to the left side and gets thrown in to the other the opposite side. Let alone being a rookie. You know. So what's the dealer that said if you move from one side of the line to the other it's like going into school and trying to write an essay or non dominant hand. That's a staple statement. I mean it shows how hard it is. I don't understand what they wouldn't see because in game time like that's where you see what you want to see and know what you have and to meet. He showed that he had it on the left side. Especially as a road right absolutely. It'll be interesting I did bring up this point. It's definite to you but so in our Lancer lead reserve line. He is Reza Houston. And he's a yeah draft analyst for. Yeah fell DOT COM. So like he does. Obviously he's somewhat important importance. I don't know how accurate is but supposedly. He did say on his show Houston today. I'm not sure the context in what you said it or if it was like definitive or if you were saying it's probable but he mentioned that the eagles may be shopping around Dillard to clarify. We don't know if he said you know if they're planning on. Yeah J. P. They should or you know. We're on hearing rumors But we were info is kind of circulating in. That's kind of interesting I. We're GONNA continue to investigate that a little bit further because nothing went on. Friday has broken seriously right now. But that's something that we're definitely going to look into what developed over the next few days. Yeah it's just concerning the reason we found out about it was because somebody who was listening to his program in Houston message. Dr Show was like Y'all like this like Blah Blah Blah so yet we don't know the context in it and we'll see what happens but if that was the case if they were gonNA choose. Jp over Dillard. I would be very very bad. How Do Yellow? I mean you draft him in the first round you trade up for them you can't you can't you can't specially because if you get jp like if you get back. He's thirty seven right now. You signed him to one two year deal. He's done the AMAC's two years so new years. I think the city would be outraged. I think it would be a stupid move for them to do that. So we'll see. And it just goes against their whole method of not going after Veterans Anymore. And bringing in the use nee makes no sense. And it's not even like they should argue like oh he'd be the vet to train younger guys Blah Blah Blah. Like they're having for year the conversation already they still have. We've already had that. Yeah they still have lane. They still how brandon. They saw Jason like granted. They're not hall of Famer. Exact position left tackles but like they'll be fun in my opinion. I don't think that's an excuse. So onto the other. Cackle tied stay or go. I like by. I think I would bring him back for like a backup position because I think he's very reliable and I like him in that spot but his worst is more than I'm willing to give form United's are not gonNA get war. I'M NOT GONNA get into bed war with a team. That really needs him in his willing to give him a lot of money. I would bring him back but I don't think he's GonNa come back because I think she'll get offered a better deal on. I don't live in that. I totally agree. I think having someone like him would be really great. He can play right or left tackle. Yeah so play right guard. You're absolutely right. Someone like you know showing what he's been able to do over the last couple of years on both sides. Which again is we talked about his extremely difficult. That's a big asset. Have for a team. Yeah definitely would love to have him back in that role but there are other places out there that are gonna be willing to have him as a starter unwilling to pay him more money than I think eagles are. I don't really WanNa see them use another you know. I think there's so many other holes that they need to fill it wide receiver and the and the second in the cornerback. Spot as well as possibly a linebacker or defensive. Tackle or something that I would like to see them draft but I was doing a couple. I was doing some research and a person I think is really interesting that they that might make sense for them for for a deposition Is Joe Hague out of Indianapolis? He's a free agent this year he played with Carson at North Dakota State As has kind of been nat utility guy in Indianapolis played a lot of snaps at right tackle and right guard but has also played left. Guard has played left tackle and played center and has also come in as you know a big tight end as well so a guy who a carson knows and be hasn't really been a you know a a primary starter in a League is played in important games has played in bigger games and has has that experience. That could be that back up. Move around as you need him type role. Yeah I like that Do you think he would be cheaper than what by been around for. I think so because by Thai still want a super bowl left tackle. Yeah you know what I mean. A nickel stay having worked at the entire shelf all the injuries. Yeah right exactly and then you know last year when lane got hurt he was the one who kind of went over there and then this year when lane got hurt again they tried some different things but ultimately invite is the has been the best option. I react pretty much anywhere on that line. So having that is who is able to kind of move around got it. Brandon Brooks can start the season runway or something like that. Having that kind of option would be really big for the Eagles to have and I think that's something that vibe rings that so important I think if they could find someone who has similar qualities like that. Which is I mean. It's the reason they like Isaac say of all it was the reason they want him around because he can play guard he plays center. So it's things like that where you know you guys that are cross trained at multiple positions. Because you're able to kind of shuffle around without losing a step and I think that's what's important. I actually on line. I have an interesting thought right here so I don't. I'm obviously it wouldn't work because they can't afford it. But what if so if hypothetically they were going to get rid of Dillard and key J. P. for another year to kind of make more sense if you're GONNA get J. P. to get Vitali again because J. P. is going to be ordered. He's not as reliable. He's been on healthy. Wouldn't you like kind of almost like to me? I would put more pressure on them to bring buyback if they were GonNa Bring J. P. Back as well. I agree if they are going to. Which would screw on it financial or other positions but yes if they trade they buy some stretch trade Andrei Dillard. They need to end. Bring J. P. Back they also have to bring by tie back otherwise royally screwed. If something goes wrong I agree. I agree and that's of main reason. I think you can't you can't i. I just really hope that you know all. We're not smarter than lead. You respect him offering coaching job. N. B. Like we respect the hell out of you way. WanNa pay you something. We want you to still be in this locker room and we want. We don't want to join next generation but we can't have you on our field and risk losing new young talent. I am Halley. Let me say that I will write your speech to J. P. for when he's leaving I will write it Corio. They did say they're going to be spenders in free agency. They're going to be doing long-term deals. More similar to the Brandon Brooks deal that they did going into twenty seventeen things like that. But you know I. I see the bulk without money going towards the pain points and yeah the draft the graphics. I see that going to school player and trying to get depth there. Yeah so I think they have to be a little bit more creative in this situation and I think that's signing some interesting free agents that are gonNA cost that much money and and you know trusting what you did with that traffic. I agree wonderful. So I'm we'll tell time whole time will be we will see we're GonNa take a quick break and then we come back. We're going to talk about what's going on in the world of the sixers because there are a lot of things going on that is the sixers exploding completely exploding..

"That Jason Peters and Andre Dillard and maybe even big be are all back in the same spot that they were because of injuries in because of a lot of other different things it it's a it's it's it's completely possible eaters can change his mind because they're still times the you know to to kind of figure this thing out nothing is set in stone but if I had to worry about one particular thing I I think it is that I think it's the perception of Andre Dillard's that stems back from training camp and it stands back from a lot of different things on my god he's not that type of a guy in there for I don't know where his heart is and all that other you know macho football player crap that accepts me coming into there and I don't again I don't blame people for having those opinions but it doesn't have anything to do with hundred Dillard's talent and I think it has everything to do with empowering him to eventually be a young leader in that group but that just takes time and that takes a lot of gutting and roster change over before you can go and do that M. I don't think he's ever going to be able to achieve that with with Jason Peters here on this team so it's gonna be very interesting to see how they maneuver a lot of the stuff over the next couple of weeks eight eight eight seven two nine ninety four ninety four we got a Herald out there in Seattle Herald thanks for well you don't have to stay up because it's it's nine PM over there but I appreciate you hanging out with this what's going on buddy so three hours earlier here that's like no that's what I'm saying it's it's it isn't it isn't it nine o'clock out there yes I mean the tanks closed down at six o'clock is that what happens in Seattle okay cool man I I want to what's your take on this Jason Peters the I thank you as a coach or he should come off the bench you should realize that if you're going to be here he's not gonna start because if you start him you're gonna hurt just like you say it you know it yes I agree I think that's that's that's definitely a part of it but what what can you do you to really make sure that that's a smooth transition because it to me it looks like Jason Peters can do whatever he wants and he's earned that right for a lot of different reasons yeah but I wonder if now he's got like too much power and and if how we can't convince Jeffrey that like Hey I'm sorry we need to move on I know that that might be bad and this is probably what I don't know I'm just assuming you're but if that's one of the bigger reasons then then I think you just gotta have to accept it and it it it's okay it is okay for Jason Peters to still be on the roster in the middle of what I think is a rebuilt you know what S. S. role if they do that they will destroy the dealer wow but like O. okay go head no no you go ahead here I was I was about to reenter the same point but yeah I get it to no no no you go to the color revolutions you demo so I I so I I if that and that's the thing like I think if you if it's against Jason Peters well then that that has a a big opportunity to ruin Andre Dillard's second year anyway and maybe you just rip the bandaid off and you know you're going to make roster changes as you go along here but just so you know Herald here is the first idea that popped in my head if you want to move on from Jason Peters then you've gotta get a guy that has no ties at all to this current eagles locker room to go play left guard form and I know that they love I I know that they love Isaac sale malu and they should for his price and what he's able to do and I don't think you you move him but I do think maybe M. if how he's hinting at this if Brandon sheriff who is on the market we've seen in Washington and I'm a little biased because I mean I will guy but that guy can play guard and can play at a high level in if you pair those two guys together to build a relationship just like you did with Brandon Brooks and lane Johnson on the other side I I think that's a way you can maneuver that and still you know save save Dillard tied to centrally from the locker room if that's indeed what's happening here what about the gas from us as three on your big guys we have from a Jordan my Lotta yeah you know it's an interesting point in the pool we'll do I'll go go don't get off the pot the pool or get off the pot I think I'm going to put that in my in my in my in my training camp preview when we were kids that short Jordan my lot of needs to you know people get off the pot I think that's a that's a good well yeah and and and there's a lot of different things that I think we can do but I want to explore that just a little more because it's a pretty good group of offensive linemen that are in free agency and I know guards or something you don't want to spend a ton of money on but I mean I'm staring at Brandon Brooks and is one of the key the best guard in the league at least in our buys opinion obviously so eight eight eight seven two nine ninety four ninety four we'll obviously get into some six of conversation as we hit the top of the hour as well and would love to hear from you do you think that it is possible like I think the Jason Peters has more power than even how Roseman in that building because that's that's how it feels to be eight eight eight seven two nine ninety four ninety four eleven right here on the barge chills sportsradio ninety four W. "Andre Dillard first round I mean how can you allow him to sit for another year if you do have plans for you Jason hears I need a hundred getting that experience certainly a left tackle was huge for him we're very confident in his abilities to be a really good player but it's a good problem for us to have that we have a lot of these off and so on and that we think are good players and that comply you know it's not aligned efficiently and I think we feel fortunate that we have these good options and that it's not the flip side were trying to figure out what we're gonna do going forward on our offense line that we have a lot of good options to choose from yeah that that that that's not a good problem to have now it's a good problem to have it when I do go or do you have confidence that he can all star and a trade up for now and and is not a good problem to have when you're you your number one job is to protect your quarterback right it's not a good problem to have you want to know who your all points of light is and you supposedly have that in place personnel wise and what it says is you don't believe in the personnel there is there yes no you don't you don't believe in otter tail yeah could it did because the good problem to have is all know he's ready and we love J. said about Audrey dealer to get them going that's what you want to hear yes hundreds along a lot planned well behind Jason Peters and he's ready to take over that's what you want to be here yes good because right now if you even even though Jason Peters is probably to go go in the hall of fame as an eagle it is number retired everything he even understood he understood again that a year if if this was the time you drive somebody in the first round it's a second year he played sometime last year he was groomed by Jason Peters now is the time for him to step up so it's gonna be a starter in the third year of his contract you're talking about for years with the fifth year option for pleasure all dropping out of bigger out what's he worth about a week and now he's not gonna start next year yeah well no we gave up them to move up to getting you give up something yeah no you did not a dead end and could not have been used on someone else I where I live and on someone else I am shocked that there's even if that's not that's not that's not a good look and again it doesn't have to mean you have anything to do with Jason as everything the what I'm sorry yeah he's not ready yet that's what it says all right let's let's say it brought back to the phones at eight eight eight seven two nine ninety four ninety four Amari Cooper he plays next season to twenty six he said he could be even better than he is now a key he still and what a better quarterback yeah but he's going to play I mean he could he literally could be just entering his prime all right it's a need for the eagles totally understand wanting a wide receiver Byron Jones also cowboys he plays next season at twenty eight considered by many he's not an elite wide receiver or web only quarterback but he's considered like very good troubled level but he's not he's not a playmaker it's a good tackler he's a good cover corner but he's not like you know if you're talking about probably the top of the tier two quarterbacks still very good I'm you don't wear it we're gonna discuss this because they took the two biggest area of need for the eagles are wide receiver or corner it's just whether or not they're they're willing to spend big money on Cooper or Jones or what they would prefer I'll just say this I it's not even close I prefer Byron Jones I prefer by judge eagle saw the show Jackson they're likely gonna have Alshon Jeffery their second round draft pick from last season they more or less have to put in there okay stop there yeah how confident are you into three players you just name let me see the Sean Maher Alshon there and the article what side not not at all okay not okay good but I mean you would have to figure one of those three at least we contribute at some point right they they they need to you all right they need wide receiver doubt help no doubt but if I'm at a top wide receiver a top corner I'm going with Jones because the eagles defense needs much more help than the eagles offense I actually that's why I like the eagles offense but I agree that he was depressed needs more help but the way I look at it this is an offense of league and I'm gonna be able to can she do so winning more from that side of football then I am from the defensive side of football you know why San Francisco can win with their defense five straight years they took a deal out of it in the top tier they've been building their defense we have been building defense through the draft we're young players to build a team around the debates no that's was San Francisco decided to do right they use multiple topics or deal I mean I do do you live in at the deep love for that to delight me at every position right and then wouldn't trade them for the other gear from Aug Kansas city that was all sides deport morning Saddam in free agency right or trade informed they trade for trading point so they did all that that means they were building their team to be a team they didn't rely on all things did throws the ball of Todd they want to run the ball play good defense that's how they built their team he was our bill like that we got a Bronco behind the center and he has a laser cannon for norm Hey you know bill goes to throw the ball we're not build altars around running the football we're gonna throw it get out and that's why we need a wide receiver well I mean I was maybe what like we need as many wide receivers we can get I think the track team well I that's why I'm drafting every round of drafting a receiver but I think the defense to me needs more help we agree with that I'm worried about the pass rush and you know what else I don't know who the corners are next year I have no idea I'm tired worried about the corner position I'm tired of worrying about mailing meals and no no no no no rave on the blog Dave matter St Craig bonds fine of up to a maximum it may play safety I don't even want to be the corner anymore he sold miles on miles Sanders is still up to Goddard you still have the Sean Jackson Greg ward I give a great you know you have a good offense a line I thought yeah I wouldn't I wouldn't expect the same wrote a great ward we saw the last month hello from raiders improve them to mark that down in my office so you're you which you would take her forever Jones yes verily if they'll get one free they're getting rich and they're not they're not going for multiple big time free agents they get one yes I would okay I would take Cooper over Jones and yes I do know about the injuries the solve this and all of that yep Cooper Jones Jack who do you got I'm taking Amari Cooper I'm getting I'm I'm lotus offense out for the Bronco man yeah but like you you talk about this being an offense a league right then and that's why I get the wide receiver that's actually why you get the the the the cornerback because it is an offense of league if you don't upgrade your defense and upgrade your quarterback already I do think your pass rush is is well below average if you don't get a corner that can help cover and that's exactly what Jones is he can cover your big trouble man it it is too wide receivers in this division to we have the ability to have both of them this John Jackson at Amari Cooper nobody else has receivers industry sterling Shepard right we'll get Danny dines word about the receivers that the that the giants have that the Redskins yeah we're we're we're around the corner yeah how far to take Washington with the Wayne Haskins as a quarterback by the way I think removal rights to take two of our instead of chase young but that's just me and that's just my one of my takes for the draft is we'll get closer to the draft I would take the best quarterback in the draft but the weight Haskins who I like lesson twice to watch play in the NFL R. I'm not that hot who is he throwing to and if we take a mark Cooper from Dallas Dallas have eagle point yeah now you got all right gallop gallop is my job here is nice receiver we'll see how he looks as the number one H. well over there yeah but it's it's more it's more you even know how the money just came out and said if we don't we don't in twenty twenty but I thought no it's more than just the division it's about we have your shape one way that's why I just thought I would go to a seventeen playoff match but but if you're not gonna get the bye week unless you have the one C. but it's more about it's more about love bye weeks not not even not even twenty twenty but what about twenty twenty one Byron Jones good to have you good good to have still be playing in his prime in twenty twenty one in twenty twenty two to where when you do get better and when you feel better about the team maybe instead of being a ten one TB to twelve win team you're gonna need him you ready I just don't know how you get better corner like and I'd rather you got a draft don't you want uber if they decide to let G. D. jag go after next season there is a chance there are a wide receiving corps will be our thank a wide side Greg ward and whatever rookie they draft the used this year and hopefully a trap the right one I want our receivers gonna like are we going to the Super Bowl with twenty twenty one with that group let's say we park on this season going to the Superbowl well when they get rid of the chevron and Alshon right when I get rid of those guys then what do we have for twenty twenty one a bunch of young receivers are gonna be looking in the draft for more young wide receivers this will never go away but it's the same thing you have what we want as quick with corners nothing yeah but here's what I'm saying that's a less important part of the game that you can sort of get by with over their corner and they are such talent need at the wide receiver position that man I'm thinking about I don't know how gone Brett I'm if you can say Breitbart in Green Bay L. Rogers the saints who else is out there San Francisco who else we got out on the covering them against the Seattle Seattle got all good news eight eight eight seven zero.

"This year. It's hard to find offense. And I it's hard to find guys with great feed big bodies big hands. It's hard to find these guys, you know, they don't they don't grow on trees. There's very few people in the world. You know, it's the big there's very few big men with that kind of feet. And so h it's just unusual get him. We we like our offense Lon depth. We liked it before today with like the guys that we have on our team, and it's just an area that we want to continue to invest in and be strong in and keep developing guys because you need it you need over. The course the season we've seen that you need the depth. And it's just great situation for young player to come into. It's a little bit older as as a prospect how much into valuation. Yeah. I think that that's part of our valuation process. I mean, we we look at age as a factor. But you know, when you look at this guy and his ceiling, and when you look at that a lot of times, I think some of the things that we've learned, you know, I know I've learned personally is has got hit a ceiling when he's twenty three or twenty four years old or does he still have room in his body to grow? And I think we all agree. It was unanimous that this guy is hasn't come close to sealing. And just talking to these guys in our staff about what what we can do for him and especially in the wrong game and talk about explosive power. But also see it on tape. I mean, I don't think it's fair to say that this guy is in good in the run game. So we're we're just really cited right now about this. But at the same time we I go back upstairs. We gotta see what's going on. We got a lot of work to do the next couple of days. So. As you watched the picks that you think Houston was TV show. To be honest. We were trying to go up ahead of Baltimore. We just couldn't come to an agreement. So it just kinda worked out that way. Obviously, we knew are. We thought that that was a spot that probably there was a chance that they were gonna take offense stock which they did. And we had to go by our board. And now a top guy on our board. So certainly we thought that if we didn't get to Baltimore spot. There was a chance we'd lose the player. And I think all of us when they want to make sure we got the players. Plus historic confirms defensive line. Guys went off the way expected, and you feel like maybe, you know, there's more drafts that were be more rounds victory feeling maybe something didn't fall what you wanted to in terms of getting defensive tackle. Now. I mean, I think things fell. We thought they would I mean. It is a strong Dhillon class. And I think you see with the beginning of this draft a lot of teams evalu- these defensive lineman. Trade to get to thirteen and then the dolphins back down. I guess any Any comments comments on on that? that? I can't comment on that report. No. We didn't have the trade. We had was dribbling bait I didn't see that. Back to that. You're thinking at all as far as Lyman goes. Again, we went into this draft certainly went into this first round just wanna get an opportunity to to get the best player, we possibly could get and cinnamon where we are twenty five now to come into this day, if we would come in this morning and said we're gonna get a top ten pyre ward at important position. You know, we didn't really into Speight that. And we thought if that was the case we would have to use one of those two second round packs, and we didn't really want to do that TIMMY, it's great to get TIMMY back. He he's just guy. Great energy for football team. You know, just looking that defensive line room and that defensive tackle position that strength of our team. And it's just a good fit for us and Tim..

"When I got on your guys kind of radar and also how that system playing in that system projects to plant in the NFL. Whether there is protection bureau, actually, our director college going Anthony patch he lives pretty close to Washington state. He did a great job in our area scout Ryan Myers. Those guys at a phenomenal job of going in there and getting to know. Getting to know Andrei and. Zack. Less. You guys are at the senior. You've got to see him perform that week Donna a mobile. So we were very comfortable. We got a chance to spend a lot of time with Andre in our in our commerce QBR senior bowl interview. So he had a great week. And we couldn't be more excited to have. What we talked about all fence live prospects. Especially rookies talked about versatility a lot of high level prospect like that is. Is it just like concentrated on ease Aleph tackle? I mean, if you look at me, see see our offense one last year person was was a huge key. We're just speaking on Andrei. I mean, his his foot quickness is lower body flexes ability to redirect. I mean, those are those are all very intriguing thinks us just out said in the past that you got to give them a list, and he says either this got it or doesn't have what was his involvement kind this process at least. Yeah. I think we've used in the draft pasta stored passionate a lot. Coach stout. Stauton gets very passionate about Seraing guys. And when when Joe is just describing Andre I was thinking about coach talking about his lower body flex and when he describes his lower body flexibility, his excitement level raises. So he just you know, he he talks about guys that are unusual. He uses that word, and when he says the word unusual, it kind of its striking. It's like this guy. He's unusual. And and that's what he is. I mean, Andres unusual. This is not a normal guy is not normal athlete. And so he's he's he's excited. Guys, make his Rudd balking. They did it. They they ran the ball. So rarely up their coach. You know, something that again as we get him in here and get him going. I mean, yeah, they did throw the ball a lot in Washington state. And that's you know, credits what they did. And that's why he's he's a good pass pass protector. You know, we pride ourselves in run the ball here. And he's gonna come in and learn, and that's the thing. And I and I have Jeff statins here. He's a great teacher. And he's a great fundamentalist. And he he's gonna work on every aspect of every one of our players games. Front, you know? And and so I have no no hesitation that. He's going to be a good run blocker. When you talk about. He's got the fortitude. I mean, this kid wants to be great. And and he he takes to coaching really. Well. Are you protect protector quarterback's blindside? But in fact, detached Carson factor in this in terms of like, I mean JP for the last ten plus years as your quarterbacks back. How does that factor into looking in the future with Carson being here? You hope for the next decade you want.

"Eagles are at the podium, and we've got to fresh pressures for yet today here to introduce all of that is me your host, Michael kissed followed by work at bleed green dot com. Follow me on Twitter at Michael kissed NFL K, I S T. So as I said we have to pressures, and I'll tell you who they are. We're going back in time to the night of the draft after the first round selection of Andre Dillard to hear what Howie Roseman and Doug Peterson had to say about how things shook out for them in the draft after that. We'll get to Andre Dillard's introductory press conference as he met for the first time with the Philadelphia media as Philadelphia eagle before we get to that. I wanna talk some more about Dillard since I have the floor here. So we'll take a look at some analytics, and we'll talk about the Washington state product. And there are some notes that I grab from pro football focuses two thousand nineteen NFL draft guide. Let's start with some heat earned their highest pass protection grade of any starting tackle in college football last year with a great of ninety four point. Oh in that area out of over one hundred tackles, Dillard, ranked six with a pass efficiency rating of ninety nine point zero only one sack allowed two hits allowed ten hurries thirteen total pressures in two thousand nineteen if you're wondering if that's good. Yeah. It's pretty good didn't allow any pressures to Russia's. According to PF scored very well with inside and outside pressures allowed if you're breaking it down into category. So all that's very strong the area of weakness for him is in the running game, which wasn't a focus of Mike Leach's, Washington state offense, Dillard, ranked eighty ninth in run block success. So that's going to be a big focus for offense of line coach, Jeff Stoughton. And it's something that Dillard addresses in his press conferences. Well, luckily, for us doubt has a long history of developing linemen dating back to the eighties. And it's a great situation for Dillard to be as we pointed out on radio forty seven after this election and BGN radio special number two when we talked about offense tackles in this class with Brandon thorn that was before this election looking further into the run game aspect. Of this. The sports info solutions two thousand nineteen rookie handbook had him at a fifty four point five percent positive play percentage when running to his gap which ranked towards the top tier of this class was not all bad in. That regard looking at their blown block charting. His one point. One two percent blown block rate in the run game was ranked towards the middle while his point four four percent blown block percentage. Impasse. Bro was tops in the class are so at shift focus from analytics and get more into valuating traits had Dillard as the twentieth ranked player on my board overall. So the value batches there with the twenty second overall, selection and looking around to some of the respected evaluators in this space, Dane, Brugge ler of the athletes who I love and he calls his draft guide the beast, and let me tell you the name fits he had Dillard night overall on his big board and said, quote overall Dillard is a better pass protector run blocker right now. But he is a quick minded player with light feet and core power to play multiple positions in the NFL, including left tackle, unquote. Daniel Jeremiah, Evan will know, we're continually called Dillard, the best pass protector in this class. So there's a lot of hype surrounding Dillard in a large shadow in the form of Jason Peters looming over him, and you hope he's able to live up to all of that hype expansions right one last note before we continue we'll have a new kissed and Solex show, very soon. So has yet to have his say about this draft hall on this feet. So we're going to give him ample time to give his thoughts will give him the floor for a little bit. But right now, we're going to kick it over to Howie Roseman and Doug Peterson after the first round of the NFL draft. They were at the podium. This guy that we had ranked at were top ten players in the draft in it -ticipant the opportunity to go up and get him..

NFL Draft: Eagles pick Andre Dillard, Miles Sanders, J.J. Arcega-Whiteside

"The NFL draft was completed on Saturday the three day extravaganza Thursday Friday into Saturday. I really liked days one and two as much day three. But I think they have some guys who can help them in certainly. I thought the Dillard drafting was a smart play for guy who was still there with that kind of value. I really liked the Sanders, vile Sanders, drafting and JJ Artega Whiteside. Why watched a lot at Stanford is a guy who will contribute to this team. And it may not be a huge role this year, but he will contribute to the steam. That's for sure let's go to Mike in Westchester wants a little NFL draft. What's going on my man? Mike been buddy. Hi, brother. How are you doing? Well, I say rob Sixers could blow out and thank goodness. We're going to new coach. Yeah. They're not going to be a lot of people ask me before the series. What do you think if they if they get eliminated is Brett Brown gone? And my answer was always we'll tell me how they're getting a limited. Right. If this if this goes seven games, and they lose an overtime Toronto. That's different. If they end up if this is four or five games, and for the most part these games look similar to last night. Then I think Brett could be in big trouble. Yeah. I think it's time how this tiling coaches incoming here that really I think they need it needs to kick in the. But that's just my opinion. I think it's the plight of the news. Well, Mike, real quick. It's a fascinating off-season is not only the if they go out the Brown question looming. You also have three guys who potentially walk on, you know, with with Butler and Harrison JJ Harrison back. That's my opinion. You see these guys don't have the intestinal or too close game Butler does. And that's why keeps his team. I don't think there. Let them go. I don't think he's going to get like three or four. You do wants to play. We started to. Yeah. I wouldn't max amount for sure. But yeah here, but I think he'll be back. Be better to stay niece. Anyway, you go west. It's it's you know, he's at all star in east east got I mean, he should stay east. And I don't think he's gonna liquors to fry come on. Flat out for I'm glad response on his face. He deserves I'll tell you try to get Anthony Davis. And that was that was camping, you know. Yeah. Well, if they don't and landing these big fish, the Anthony Davis is the world center. They don't end up landing one of those guys. And he stuck in that in that that mess for another year. My God, man. I love it. Love it. But anyway, I love the draft, man. Richie. Jota project man, you play the NFL. Not a project up only one sack. You know, who started boatload of games? Oh my God. Guys. And he said they said it's amazing healing at four holding penalties entire season. That's impressive. I mean, really the guy. You know, he's not like guys. It's a. You know, you look at look at his technique. He could be his a pro style offense to his advantage. He can learn under Jason Peters. The other line this year. It also shows that they don't have any at all competent of how they look if I tie a backup or maybe a guy who wasn't going to be here for the long haul. And I think that a lot of commodity as much as we all blown up. Yeah. I mean, I think as much as we all think it's a great story and all that the guys played professional football for one year. And when I say played he's been on team you it's not like he got reps other than training camp or preseason game. So I think he got a slow down a little bit on on the my Lada. So this picnics a lot of sense. From what the draft signify is eagles are all in on giving Carson much every opportunity to be everything he needs. Really? I mean, the running back in first time running back in that high shady, I mean, the irony. It was the exact same pick in the second round, number wise. Amazing. But no just look at the entire off season so far. So to Sean comes back, you have the speed threat. Right. Jordan howard. You add him as the running back. They from draft standpoint, you get an offensive lineman with an eye to the future mind you, but they get enough of linemen then they get a running back, then they get a wide receiver. They are doing everything they can deliver. Because it could may lose Nate Sud bells. Yes. Somebody can develop. I like that move a little bit later. Yeah. It was a good move. I'm not he's not looking to replace Wentz. This case you lose some that's the point of getting. That's what you have to continue to add guys like that. But I like what they did. I think Sanders is going to be tremendous. I I think that him and Tim talked about the air he thinks the college where he can't idiot coach like James Branko in you know, it's like it's only step up my pig. He's also a guy who isn't going to come in beat up. I mean, he saquon he's excellent after the point of contact that you more than four yards per carry. So I mean, there's there's a lot to like with this pick better running back anywhere with blunt, and John that's my. The running back position with Howard. And and now Sanders and then getting back night day from what it was when they go into the pit go on the sunset your been watching over. I think it's I don't think we're the one that surprised who was Chris long. I thought he would be back. I'm not so surprised. Carrie move kinda signified. He's not I think that moved told us that they don't think he's

"What you learn that has helped you reached this point? Biggest thing I learned from coach leeches really is the thing that he said is probably. Sixteen ish times each practice. Not that exact number but just asked him, but he says it ally. And it's just play the next player. You know, whether you did you no good or bad on a play. Like, all that matters is the one in front of you because you know, you did good. You can't show in and be like, oh, yeah. I'm you know, I'm the I'm the guy and then just get ran over in the next one. And if you do something bad, you can't hang head on it. And so that's just the biggest thing it's just a short term memory, but be able to adapt and learn if you did some all right? That is eagles first-round pick Andre Dillard. I very good talker. A very interesting talker. You know, it sounds like a smart, dude. The offense a line. It's a good thing. Then. Yeah. A lot of talking too much talking for me. But I guess we gotta get the note of players. I just I like here's Guinea plate. Yeah. Well, I mean, listen, he's he went the zoo. So like, you said it sounds like he's an intelligent guy. That doesn't surprise me the eagles, especially when you look at the office of line. They they want smart offensive linemen. And so you got a guy in. Andre Dillard date, certainly looks like he fits the Bill for what they want. We'll come back. We'll get back into it. Eight hundred eight seven to nine ninety four ninety four. It's Markson Reese live from Shakey's pizza in south Philly. They've two picks left tonight in the second round. What do they need to get because the next.

"Heard, you know, he wasn't on the eagles board because of that issue still even after that report. So it's interesting that he would be on the Redskins board, and they would use a lot of capital to go up and get him. Now, if his heart's fine from what we understand. I it's it's an issue where they have to keep certain equipment around which they are already do. So it's a minimal adjustment to kind of keep it around him, you know, more consistently. But at the same time what happens if you you never wanna talk about like that type of possibility. But there's a reason he fell so I I don't know what is going to happen with sweat. I think he's a good pick for the Redskins. They gave up a lot to go. Get him at the is going to be productive player. But there are concerns there that made him. That I'm not necessarily comfortable with. And I think a lot of other teams weren't comfortable with before we get to what the eagles might do here on days two and three I'm just scrolling through the Twitter timeline to get some reaction. And how he Roseman speaking to the media. He admitted that the eagles were trying to move ahead of the ravens to number twenty one before they he made a deal with them. Which indicates I think that they're looking at Markey's Brown seemed like Hollywood was the guy until until Dillard began to fall a little bit in the draft. Doug Peterson is is pretty happy about it. Because he was asked about the fact that Dillard didn't get to do a whole lot of running run blocking in Washington state, and he was asked about that. And he said, well, that's why coached outlets here. So it seems as though they plan on coaching up the kid, and the nice thing is that they have a year to do it with Jason Peter still on the team for at least one more season. So that's a good note. I don't mean to cut you off. But that is not that I neglected to mention that running the ball. Definitely not a conservative Mike Leach, nor was it for the Washington today. Offense now is a part in his game that dinged him on his final grade, which kind of moved down my board. So yeah, he's definitely going to have to develop as a run blocker and just get more comfortable with it. You know, as we move through this process. But yet definitely something an area where stout lane is going to have to coach him up. So that's a good point. And I mentioned I wondered where he was on the eagles board Roseman did say that he was in their top ten. They saw him as a top ten player. So that just tells you everything you need to know about why they did.

"What are you guess Andre Dillard is that I've got it's twelve hundred nine sixty six. Mike Leach is the king, man. No one is ever had ten thousand our theory of pass blocking except Andre Dillard. But that's how but we when I wrote about offense of line play a couple of years ago. That was one of the biggest issues said there wasn't a ten thousand our kind of moment for these guys anymore because of practice time in the offenses and all this stuff. So if you have pass blocked that many times it puts well for you. And he's really good at it. So I just think all these guys Dalton prisoner reminds me like when Cody white hair was coming out. And maybe they because they played in the same school that that's kind of my thinking just guys that can play guys that understand leverage angles, and you know, how to use their hands and just little things that matter like Jona Williams people look at John Williamson. I just don't understand how all this over analysis. The guys just good just draft him in. You're going to be fine. It's like what like last year. Right. So there was these offense attack tackles taken in the first round that just didn't know how to play Cole. Miller's draft kind of profile was you know, he's got decent feed. He's above average athletically. He's got big frame. But it wasn't. He just knows how to play football. And all these guys seem to and that's why I think it's going to be really good. Classic players. Yeah. I I'm with you. I don't I gotta be honest with the as we're wired differently. I don't think there's any way I think about any draft class and thinking about the offense tackles, but I get what you're saying. What's your next one? I think that this don't don't read too much into the statement about to make. But because it's it's it's more general. But why receivers are the new running back in the sense that there is going to be quality throughout maybe the first four rounds, and you can wait and get a really good player and that segues into what your about the same as in. We're going to converge on our points. Go ahead bay bait. So mine is that I just think miles boykin from is going to be good. Yes. I I watched when I'm watching other players. I did a breakdown today on grandma dot com, which is website. You should read. Excuse me out. Yeah. It's exchanges critic implemented that. Excuse me, Craig leave that in leave it in..
