"Evening, Saturday I'm Del Walters. The top local stories we're following for you this hour. The search goes on for that man suspected of shooting and killing a Maryland judge happened in his driveway in Hagerstown, but now a key piece of evidence has been found. The silver Mercedes SUV that Pedro Argote was believed to be driving was found about eight miles from Hagerstown in Williamsport, Maryland by a local resident who owns property there. It's a pretty remote area, so it could have been since there Thursday night or sometime Friday. We have not really searched the vehicle thoroughly, but we don't think there's a gun in the vehicle, but they do have a search warrant and expect access to the SUV's computers and GPS to track his activities. He says Argote's family is cooperating with investigators. Neil Logenstein, WTLP News. An employee at an Oxon Hill daycare has been sentenced to prison. She's the woman who recorded herself abusing last her kids spring. 23 -year -old Kayla Greenwell received her prison sentence Friday in Prince George's County Court, a 10 -year sentence with all but two years suspended. Her attorney says he expects Greenwell will two serve years before being placed on probation. Greenwell pleaded guilty to two counts of misdemeanor assault at the Oxon Hill Center for Early Learning. She was arrested in April. Charging documents said three videos showed her kicking a chair out from under a four -year -old and picking up a second child following her down onto the ground. The impact of the Northeast Boundary Tunnel and the entire Anacostia River Tunnel system will progress towards a swimmable and fishable Anacostia River. That's because far sewage less will end up in the river. DC Water General Manager David Gaddis speaking to the crowd here at Anacostia Park about the recent completion of the 13 mile long tunnel and the number of overflow events from 84 on average to get the completion it will be two in an average year. In the lawsuit James Johnson claims Arlington County police detective Rosa Ortiz enticed the admitted killer Bobby Joe Leonard into implicating Johnson in the 1998 murder. The Washington Post reports Johnson claims Ortiz lied to a grand jury to obtain an indictment against him. Johnson was found not guilty by a trial jury late last year after less than an hour of deliberations. The lawsuit is the latest twist in the case of Andrea Cincotta, a popular public librarian in Arlington County who was found strangled in August of 1998 in her apartment. Ortiz did not return Post the messages seeking comment. Kyle Cooper, WTOP News. The nation's retailers say they are cautiously optimistic, hoping for the best this upcoming holiday shopping season. A report by Wells Fargo forecast a 5 percent increase in retail sales during the coming two months. The work today is in the right lane. If you're on 355 northbound near Bradley Boulevard and Bradley Lane, it was a single left lane getting by the crash. "Afternoon, I'm Sandy Kozel with the top local stories we're following this hour. Congressman Jamie Raskin says he will not run to fill the seat of outgoing Senator Ben Cardin. The Maryland Democrat issued a statement saying he believes the best way for him to make a difference in American politics is to run for reelection the to House. He says he'll do whatever it takes to ensure the state's new senator is quote, a true blue threat with broad support in the state. As of now, the candidates for the seat include Montgomery County Councilmember Will Jawando, Prince George's County Executive Angela Alsobrooks and Congressman David Trone. Those three all issued statements praising Raskin and thanking him for his service to the state. An event then 50 years in the making scheduled for today has now been put on hold for a couple of months. The Anacostia River Splash has been canceled after D .C. officials say sewage spilled into the river after heavy storms. This makes it unsafe for a dip for at least 72 hours after. The district has outlawed swimming in the river since 1971 due to bacterial levels from sewage overflows, but testing in 2022 showed the Anacostia was clean enough 90 % of the time for recreational swimming. At the event, swimmers would have to been allowed take a dip in 20 minute windows off the Kingman Island dock. The make -up date for the river swim will be in mid -September. Luke Luecher, WTOP News. A Maryland college student was shot to death in C D earlier this week. Now her family is pleading for answers. The family of 21 -year -old Allison Cenfuegos says she met someone through Instagram and planned on meeting up with him at the Wheeler Terrace Apartments in Southeast. But authorities say she was in the wrong place at the wrong time when someone started shooting. While speaking with NBC4, through tears her mother Ana is pleading for answers. You may not believe how much merchandise police recovered in a major shoplifting bust in Fairfax County. $37 thousand dollars worth of merchandise filling a local hotel room. Fairfax County Police Chief Kevin Davis says the two people arrested are believed to be part of a major East Coast crime ring. Adults, young adults who are organized, they have theft schemes, they work in concert with one another to distract employees. Police found perfume, clothing and kids' backpacks among the stolen items. Fairfax County does have a summer program that has already made a big dent in the rising rate of retail thefts. The inner loop of the Beltway sees the delay now from Route 50 headed towards 66. This was work ramp on the to westbound 66. Looks like the earlier wreck that was near Gallows Road may have been cleared completely. All the delays out of Annandale of East. Then you're going to find it slow coming out of Tysons headed toward Georgetown Pike. That was a broken down vehicle in the left lane on the outer loop in Maryland. Delays are from from Route 50 trying to make your way past 450. This was reported as a work crew on the right side. Northbound on the Baltimore Washington Parkway delays are back near 450 headed toward 410. This was also work with a single lane getting you by. Westbound I -70 after 270 is a report of a crash. Watch for the delays. Southbound I -97 before Route 100 the crash was quickly moved over to the left shoulder. But wow, do we have delays on the eastbound 50 trying to get to the Bay Bridge. You would think that it would be more delays westbound with maybe people coming home from the weekend. But eastbound has the delays before Cape St. Clair and St. Margaret's Road solid. Trying to head on to the Bay Bridge with both lanes open the in eastbound direction. Three lanes headed in the westbound direction. There'd been an earlier wreck reported in the of area Whitehall Road so keep an eye out in case any of that activity is still there. If you're in the district southbound DC 55 slows from Burroughs passing East Capitol Street. Inbound New York Avenue near the Anacostia River Bridge. The work is set up in the left lane. In Virginia southbound 95 slows crossing the Occoquan. Then you're going to find slow it Dale City into Triangle from Quantico trying to get into Stafford. Northbound 95 Those delays are well before the exit for Route 1 towards Spotsylvania. This will take you in the Fredericksburg toward the Rappahannock Bridge. River We're also starting to see some delays from Dale City into Woodbridge. Southbound through Fredericksburg is starting to get a little slow so both directions of 95 are going to be heavy passing Route 3. Elsewhere, if you're traveling in the district still in good shape on both I two 95 and D.C. two 95 suitland park grand south capital street incident and delay free, no worries New York avenue northeast to northwest, the freeway boasts ice cream 95 and I 6 95 as of late moving better between The Batman and anacostia river bridge crossings, no incidents in the roadway as of late, third street tunnel was also running while in both directions. Headed into the district, both I two 95 north and D.C. two 95 south were good, New York avenue inbound leaving the anacostia northeast all the way through the third street toll in northwest, running well. No early problems reported along suitland park where south capital street headed inbound, and if you're traveling on the freeway, both I three 95 and I 6 95 in good shape in both directions between the Potomac and anacostia river bridge crossings, free and clear in both directions so far, third street till north and south between the freeway and New York avenue also without early issue. If traffic in Maryland, that way see Montgomery and French Georges counties look good, 95, the BW Parkway two 70. Oh, running well, headed down toward the bellway. The overnight work of the bay bridge cleared, you've got three lanes west found two lanes eastbound in for now, no reported delay in either direction, rich hunter WTO traffic. "The 8th Ralph Fox and the traffic center. In good evening once again, let's start with the beltway, the inner loop, Braddock road, all lanes have been reopened there. It was an earlier concern with the ramp and traffic squeezing by, but everything has been cleared out. So you may see some minor delays if so, that should be out of the roadway and you should be back at speed, momentarily on the Maryland side of things. The Baltimore Washington Parkway in northbound between route 101 95, which is the exit for BWI Marshall, the right lane gets by to do to the work, all finding good, but there's some heavy volume that remains there, so it's slow going for sure. No reported problems on the southbound side and hyattsville, route 50, New York avenue, eastbound between the anacostia river and the Baltimore Washington Parkway has two left lanes getting by due to the work and on the Chesapeake Bay bridge. The westbound span is closed. You've got two major traffic on the eastbound span to get you through. In Waldorf, the St. Charles Parkway, northbound between Saint Thomas, drive in northgate place. You'll see some delays there that due to an earlier crash concern. And on the Virginia side, Fredericksburg, two issues, 95 northbound, near route three has the right lean black due to the work in northbound at route 17 falmouth had the right lane blocked there due to a disabled vehicle Ralph Fox WTO traffic. Still have the closure in northwest of 14th street in both directions between a W and I should say between V and W streets for the police investigation, incident that occurred late last night, westbound V street, which is one way westbound that is also blocked between 14th and 15th as part of that cleanup and investigation. Now, on the bellway in Virginia, the on ramp are entrance ramp from the George Washington Parkway to join the outer loop that slip right where you have the choice of either going up to Georgetown pike or going to the atal loop of the valley, that ramp to the adult remains blocked by the single vehicle crash we are waiting on a tow truck to recover that crashed vehicle, rich hunter W two traffic. Good morning, dean, good start on 95 in Virginia from Fredericksburg up to the beltway and frankfield no incident anyway, the express lanes open to northbound travelers as well and also without early issued three 95 north between the belvi and the 14th street bridge also moving well. Again, the express lanes available to you there as well. George Washington Parkway in good shape in both directions between old town and the beltway in McLean, especially for folks headed toward Reagan national no incident in your way. If you want to use route one to get to the airport access road, you can also do that without issue as well. Now if you're traveling on a 66 from haymarket through Rosalind looking good, dulles greenway dulles toll road also free and clear. However, they still had some ram from the eastbound toll road to the inner loop closed as a result of the overnight works on your under opposed to detour there. Westbound side of the connector are getting to the beltway to the inner loop, that ramp remains open. If you're traveling on the bubble in Virginia between Alexandria and no major issues, looks like they just got a broken down car out of the travel portion on the outer loop just past van dorn street again should find lanes open there. If you're traveling in the desert, I two 95 and D.C. two 95 and good shape, suitland Parkway and south capital street, no worries, freeway I three 95 and I 6 95 continues to move while in both directions between the Potomac and anacostia river bridge crossings, New York avenue from the anacostia edit toward the third street telling you looking good. Again, the heads up for folks in northeast westbound Perry street closed between South Dakota and in 18th street, that as a result of a water main break and now the ensuing repairs, rich hunter W two traffic. We are looking at a pretty good-looking Tuesday, cloudy to start, though, still some wet roads out there to give yourself a little bit extra time this morning. Washington Mystics’ home court will be voting supercenter in Washington DC, elections board says
"Capital One arena are being used as super vote centers in the district. Following criticism that there would be no centers and wards at seven or eight DC, added another one at the home of the Washington Mystics in Ward eight, the entertainment and sports arena It'll be the only super vote center east of the Anacostia River. Smaller nearby Berry Farm's vote center will not open so it's equipment can be used at the arena.

"About setting up early voting super centers around the city. But all of them set up so far have been west of the Anacostia. But after criticism coming from residents in Ward seven and eight, as well as some of DCs Pro athletes, there is another Super center. Now coming. The entertainment and sports arena in Ward eight will be another early voting Super Center for D C residents and the only Super center east of the Anacostia. It only happened after events, DC, was pressured by members of the Washington Mystics and other residents in the area. The Washington Post says Events DC hadn't offered the venue because it was being considered for other uses around the election. So it's not clear what the city's election board says all of its voting equipment had been divided between the cities.
