That's a big leap of faith in the pot that I really got a, you know, but if we're gonna talk about prison reform, how unfair the Justice system is in how redlined and rigged it is against people color. You know, and believe me too. It's not, you know, black lives matter. But it's like when it comes to the poor no lives mattered. We as in Dacian got it like come up on that. You're gonna have a good one. Oh, you're better than that. As a bomb? Ask he'll Collins album track. Like China came out around the same time as China girl by db, David Bowie. I suggest everyone gives you listen after the podcast like China. But Phil Collins will you I'm not stalling like, no music aficionado. Anything you? Tell me Phil Collins's of amazing brilliant, man. He played the drums onto it's Christmas time, Ed. Great songwriter took like like, he's a drummer of a band that started with like a fucking like prog rock? Yeah. And he entered Gabriel urged and he dragged everyone along with them like like to wait. Why isn't that bio pic happened? I think now that the Queen bohemian rhapsody less that is the goal. It's more important right because. Yeah. Okay. So like really one of the things that needs to be said here too. Because I I'm not going to not give Dan Accolate really do. The guys headlining the first week of the first Friday shows of Coachella, Dan, he basically discovered and brought to prominence basically, like a miles Davis to music right now, which is going to in the history books of all amazing things Dan is done. And it's fucking gonna do. This is still this would be a highlight for fucking anyone. I mean damn fucking. Yo it's because Dan that we all have Donald Glover. And I think. I know. Right. I wish like that's awesome, man. And you gave him a platform to shine and China did, and you it's just a beautiful thing. No, no. No, no. But thank you. Thank you that you made that connection. But like also at the same time. No, no, no, no, no like because like. Dan, you can pick any banned any any era and see if you can stump. Jessica, okay Collins. I just wanted like like talk. "Just in general, I think we have like a fucked up twisted idea of like, it's like if we're a society that's gonna lock up almost all the people in the world like. That's my thing. I real- it. So I told you that like two hours ago it was like look up prison reform. And so we may pick a charity tonight. We're we're like sounds like our here's where Kevin days money is going and on the read it, you may go I looked them up. They're terrible. They're fake. Okay. Let's find that out in real time. Let's let's let's popularize the idea of charity shopping. So I came to two options I wanted to give you the first is the probably more well known and much bigger. But not exactly what you were asking for is called the innocence project. Right. And their job is mostly they do to people who basically everybody looks. And goes, there's no way this person was guilty. But there sat with a life prison prison sentence. They get sentences overturned, and they're very big, and they all seem to be one of the most effective charities. And they've they've regularly been recognized for dollars going to them. Does the most good? I don't get gut. Thank you. Yeah. I am actually more invested in like, how do we treat like the bad people? I want the guilty people to not have to like in addition to doing their time and serving there. I would like it if they could like fuck and learn a trade and like and like not live in. But yes, I love the innocence project, obviously. And arguably a great thing, but so the one closer, I think what you're asking. For is a similar product called the sentencing project that seems to have two goals. One is to give make sure people get fair sentences because too often people are thrown in some match security prison for something that was not needed and second one of their goals is while people are in Parsa rated making sure that prisons are not more likely to produce good results, and people are led out making sure things are not cruel making sure education is available making sure that you know, job training is made available and things like that. So they sort of seem to have a two pronged approach. Coach of make sure people sentences are appropriate. How do they do that in a world where it's like state to state city to city like how do they from the literal five minutes? I've read about them. That's part of the joke. Is that I made you do this because I'm so charitable that. I'm like this lazy. They meet with this attorneys a lot. They have provided information to states and counties and things like that about, you know, are you aware of the sentencing guidelines, you guys have and what that produces and how this person here because of the guidelines that exist in this jurisdiction result in a twenty year maximum security. You never see your friends theme. Tired time, you're in jail when other states are doing things more fairly, and here's how well this worked and hair..

"I was just trying to do my job as a country. Good. Okay. Look. Here's the thing. It's two thousand nineteen like I'm not a big resolution guy. But like something that like I've been really remiss about we've been as we've gone on. We love doing this podcast. It's amazing. We've concretize we've corporated it whatever we're trying to make like a self sufficient like little bio dome of like podcast, everybody that works on it. Hopefully, getting paid to work on it part part of that was like coming up with paperwork and signing contracts arduous process takes the joy out of everything. Of course, you can't just like do something for fun in the someone's going to get into getting fucked over we. We've been trying for years now. Like, we we like, oh, it's business. It's Harmon Joan Inc. And they give this to that prison. That along the way I think one of the funnier things it's like one of our silent partners Kevin day who runs the ins and outs of like, you You know. know, like like pumping the show out. He's he's delegated. I don't. I don't want to make him a target. But he's pretty bitcoin rich. He's kind of he doesn't really need the the bottom line is what a certain point during the incorporation of the podcast. He's sort of like. Yeah. I have a problem. I need some of the money to go away. And we came up with this thing. Kevin. Can you can you come up? Can you come up and talk about our? Kevin Davis Betty. About how to give you money away. So we talked about like because basically like if you were to do nothing at all given your situation if you're taking money from the business venture that we had to create in order to make thing you would get penalized. That's this is a common theme of capitalism. You need a write off you need a thing. And you're like, look, here's the here's something that we can't do both ethically. And legally we can't say to our podcast audience. If you subscribe to the podcast, some of.

Now your appeal. Two years. You're trying to connect with people. You're doing great. You're doing admirably given the circumstance up against shit Taino. No, you're you're all we every night. You're I mean every Monday night, you're absolutely up against shit probably other nights too. But definitely Monday nights. I'm seeing it right now. Palpably? Yeah. Yeah. So the French airport a French controlled airport. Somebody he'll down Harmon. Dan, Hartman scary. It's like so hard to getting through a go up to the counter like cody's back there. Like, they call by name names never been called. Like, I always thought that they called your name. It was because like you weren't there for something or you were going to lose your seat. And it got all the way up to the counter it was so I mean, the amount of people whose lives I- impinged upon bags hitting babies heads because I'm like, I'm like, I don't understand got. Everyone's like standing just standing because all they know is that the people are speaking in French, and what they're saying is that the plane's gonna take off. And so everyone's just compressed like a fucking like LEGO sculpture like, and so you have to like you've actively mush through that if they go like, Dan hormones and hormone, and I'm like, I can't. All I have no choice. I would never do this to anyone. I I ran my American Express card. Name my assistant, did I like, I don't I did this. I subscribed to a cheer of human experience. That doesn't involve me ever touching you. Or you touching me. I am in. I am like trying to bustle. Like like every single human being is like has a right to look at you. Like, what are you doing you horrible ferret? Like, why are you fucking machine me and touching my child's head in like fucking like I just wanna say all of them. I don't want to do this. They called my name at the desk that says whether you can get on the plane or not just like oh excuse. Civil plays about your baby's head the sorry and someone took a shit on the floor. And it's cause and they get all the way up to the thing. And they're like. You call my name, Monsieur hormone. Yeah. They're like just checking. For real. I swear to Christ. They literally said just checking. Were they worried about you? No because they said like just checking. Like, I'm feeling Liam Neeson's taken like is Cody like part of a white slavery ring. Now like, I left her. You don't understand these airports are on American. Downright french. You know, the. They're toast is weird. Even. Soft. We like hard toast. American toast. We call it. I may never. It's weird. I look American. I love it too. That's soft shit got no maple syrup. Yeah. But it was the reason bring that was in that position than we like we sat down eventually in this terminal really like God damn place keeps you on a razor's edge. Like, you don't know the language. So you're like listening. Win the people are speaking English over the intercom it's already muddled near like for me. I'm on edge. All the time. We're not gonna police it though. Like now boarding knows. Twenty two point champs. Moves Kabu now mention that French, and then I'm like a sitting towns gives me so much fucking Zaidi. "Would they be willing to like jiggling meet them halfway a little bit? Because according their website now. They don't they want a world where women are like you can get them in the mail and stuff but somewhere in the middle. There's like partnership where it's like me lately, which I really I really like that feeling. All right. Let's move onto something else. Thank you for credentialing me on my engagement happy to. Yes. I will. I do I will take we'll take her name because I kind of don't like Dan Harmon anymore. It will it won't be because I'm like a feminist. It'll be because I don't link myself. I it'll be me conveniently going like that guy that sexually harassed lady and politics for it on NPR. He's dead. I'll just Dan Hillary's in the house. I kind of like that idea. Let's call it. Hell our town. Let's. You have to change your monogram your towels. Let's the same still h silty people that really respect me of only ever called me D H. That's that's the bottom line. When you see jet walking down the road, go. Hey, D H. Yeah. Can't get there. There. So do you guys think you're going to get married to now it'll be she's so lazy? It'll be. It'll be a million years. She was so excited about proposing. Good guy and making like, she'll be I bet I was I was I'll be honest. I was stunned by the feminist triumph. I was really taken aback. That's all she wanted. She's done. That's the thing. It really I was even know how to feel about this. Now, if we get married you wanna it'll be five. It was awesome of rob shroud will be officiating. We'll be in death valley between two rocks. Like, it'll it'll be there'll be people there. What if you love each other so much that you just name each other shrub? You become den. And Cody shrub. Good. Yeah. I I love prove your love. I would love to prove my love. Okay. Let's talk about some stuff. I happy new year. It's been such a long time. Okay. Loud stealing family on boat. Sounds like a hot one. Let's let's start with that one. Let's go to hear about that. Okay. There was a fucking in seen Lee loud. Sneezing family. As we came back from Tahiti like we went to this island. Like, we got on the return boat. Like you got to go back to the time. Your dream is over it's time to stop you. Go back home now..

"You. Gotta do it. This time. Cody proposed to you on this one. Right. That's what I'm saying. Is that I'm like get a hold out for that this? She should like get down on the need to the whole thing. Yeah. She did. She almost drowned. It was. 'cause it was into Heaney. And she was she picked her spot. And she did the thing. And she had rehearsed it, and she was up to her neck and water. And she proposed to me I knew it was coming eventually. But didn't knows coming? There. Are you going to take the name Hillary, you're gonna keep harming I think it would selfishly I would like to take the name Heller because I would like to die. I've been through this whole thing. Like, I consider very therapeutic like a woman down on her knee and said. Would you marry me? And I was like only fuck I knew this was happening. I knew this. In and I'm like holy shit. It's happening now. And then I'm like, honestly to be honest and share with you. This is not a binary decision. You make. However, it gets reduced if somebody says to you at the halftime show of thing. Like, the alternative is. No, I won't marry you. There's there's a little bit of a push there where you're like. Yeah. Of course, first and foremost. Yes. And but there's a processor in the back of your head where you're like what's happening. How is this going to work your UCB training kicked into this point? I think everyone's training kicks in everyone doesn't need training. That was the start of thing in my two. He should be where it was like in the background share this with Cody at all shared it with my therapist. But I was like every day since I said yes to this proposal. I had been confronting the things -iety. I was like a woman just propose to you. And you said, yes. And what have you given up? What are you doing? What's going on in? It made me kind of go through these thoughts in my head where I was like well first of all now, I can get as fat as I want. But then countered I was like no you now have to get sinner than you've ever been. There's a voice from down here somewhere. Like, he's not saying anything. They disagree with your your your license to speak is too liberal. Curtail it. I it's striking me. Even though you're saying exactly everything I'm thinking, I fuck us. Silence. Respond zone is in my. But the get up my butt, sir. I started thinking in my head. It was like an emotional thing. Whereas like oh shit. Like when a guy proposes to a woman the guy it doesn't matter like remove all of your politics about who pays for what? And all the stuff like the bottom line is that a guy is like thinking about it. And then buying a ring, which is what Cody had to do. And like it's just that power of like when you hit the buzzer. I knew Cody was gonna propose to me I was in love with her. I wanted her to propose to me. I didn't know it was going to happen then. But that makes it like it was like shit like. She gets. She gets to hit the buzzer in the game show of like, we're married. She told me, she's I should I. I don't wanna hear that. You got to weigh in. That's awful. I told you don't do it. But it was like it was like there was this. There was this thing of Zion hanging over me. I don't know how it had to do with. I've been married, and I fucked it up. I don't..

"You know this business is about like the first twenty minutes of saving private ryan you're just really trying to survive the whole time and and you know it's you know you're just in that fog of releasing a product and stuff like that so you don't really take time to to think about it but i'll tell you this i love entertaining people and i'm i'm i am in all most of our audience and of the fans of the song i tell everybody that promotes the films or goes to see them i mean technically you're our boss and we work for you we want to give you a great experience in the theater and to know that you know millions of people are coming to the movies to see something that we've made and going to the movies where it's just as much to go see black panthers that's amazing right it's kind of hard to believe and i stand in awe that and some of the things that you get to do in the industry or special it's mostly just hard work but but to know that you can tell a story that can change someone's life that's that that to me is what keeps me going it's kind of like you don't really think about it because you're just worried about doing the next thing and and i don't think we've slowed down the process and it was funny it's kind of similar to the first time we showed the film and amy grant so at the end of the story there's a portion of the story where we highlight something really special immigrant of her being kind of a a mentor embarks life and and so barton i went over to her house to show her the film for the first time and so she's watching enjoying it and just just eating popcorn and enjoying it and write about midway through and one of her scenes bart leans in and he's like hey is this kind of weird and she stopped at threw out she's like well it is now she's like i guess this is weird and so when you slow down to think about it you're like this is surreal but the doors that keep opening it up and the craving for good entertainment like this i can't believe we do this for a living raising amazing.
