Demi Lovato Suffered 3 Strokes & Heart Attack After OD

"Demi levato is burying her soul and revealing. She suffered three strokes and heart attack when she overdosed in two thousand eighteen and her new documentary. Nothing is off limits. Take a look at this. I crossed the line. That i had never crossed. Are we talking about heroin. Are we doing the show. You at birth gun. Yeah snaps would. Cfc is she alive. People are gas bigger auction levels. Were dangerously low us. Oh you mean she to make it will watch all of her black. Come outisde party into a machine. She's like i can't. I can't see see him. I had three strokes. I had a heart attack. My doctors said that had five ten more minutes. Demi lovato dancing with the devil. Premieres march twenty third on youtube. I have to ask you guys. Do you think it's dangerous for demi to relive these moments are do you think it's kinda you know cathartic for somebody to go and relive this in front of the camera. I y- to be honest. It depends on the person you know. Somebody is ready to address that and they've worked through their trauma and they've done what they need to do to get them to a place where they can talk about it without feeling that poll. I think it's i think it's a great thing and also What did we hear that. She did it because she wanted to be held accountable by everybody. Who who saw it and knew everybody's been following her journey for so long. So i think i think she seems like she's in a really great place and that she has just really grown in her own and we all are on journeys so to allow her to do this. It's not my place to tell her how to share her story her story you. Can you stop someone who is at the top of their game. You know you're an artist you know When you're so high up on your game and you wanna do what you wanna do. Who is the person i think about. Amy winehouse materials you okay. It's time to stop. It's a mighty who's not on the payroll. That's the problem when you have your. And i hate to say this because i don't know what was going on behind behind the scenes but i see this a lot of times when parents are on the payroll our family members on the payroll the line between me being the manager in me being a mother. A father sister brother kinda sorta gets blurred. You don't want to stop the cash. But i will say and i know this from watching this preview. Is that an from my own life. Addicts are master. Magicians david copperfield. So when they want to hide something from you know how to do and she just explained in that in the longer preview that she's the master of hiding manipulation so a lot of times you don't know how bad it is because that person is gene races but you'd think that they can handle it also. I had a friend in the music industry. That was doing some things. And i didn't know how to stop him. I'm not on the payroll but you can say you would have to lock the person up. You would have to take them and take their hands and put them away. Yeah it to make them stop so it's a very difficult search. You and i are friends now. I'm going to be honest in the height of celebrity when when things were happening. When i wasn't on this show my fear would be if i call you out about something and tell other people that your career would be doom guilty for you know things leaking out and people finding out about your situation and how it can affect your bag and i know it's not about money but at the end of the day your careers your livelihood. So i did. I would be afraid to be careful when you can't want something more for somebody than they want it for themselves so if somebody wants to get better they're gonna they're going to get better and then you can just support them through it and you still get to support them in the ways that you can't but i wouldn't know how to think she's she's saying i mean she says she can't really seek Dr because affected her vision. She has brain damage. You think about this when you really look at it. You say you know what i was. I was skateboarding. And i broke my leg. Some people will go back to escape. You know what. I'm just happy that she feels like she is ready to share

"For uncovering my fears for behavioral patterns that stick over years like that is a summary of psychoanalytic proportion that one could only hope to come to maybe. After years of therapy you know that she could so succinctly put that in a paragraph of a song is amazing. She was always really resistant to seeking professional psychological treatment. I always said that was such a funny dichotomy as well but she had that level of self awareness. But when anyone else tantalize i. Guess maybe that's not that surprising that i say that it's not and actually in addition unfortunately so the last line their history repeats itself it fails to die. She had a fatalism about her that she may not have believed that. Even that knowledge. Being power. Which i i'm saying to people. Hey do therapy because if you know about yourself you don't have to keep repeating the same behavioral patterns. She seemed to believe she was faded to repeat her history. And that makes it hard to break out or believe that therapy can really be helpful to you. You also have to stay in one place for long enough. Envy be willing to invest in the work but again. Her lyrics are so amazing in terms of having some personal insight. Where do we attribute her ability to compose in the way that she did. She was always very vague about that. I think that was really through being a jazz fan. And the way that you can kind of extemporaneously solo. I think she would start with her lyrics and just sorta scat singing a lot of her early early early recordings when she was in the national youth jazz orchestra or sort of bebop influenced scat song. So my guess is that it was born out of that as you said. She got her own place. She still thought blake would come back. But that's not really what happened. She ends up dating an actually getting engaged to reg. Travis who seems like a pretty could guys a filmmaker. He does well. He's not involved with drugs and she's doing fewer drugs at that point. The last year for life seemed to be major. She looked great. She seemed strong. She was the head of universal said that she was recording again. The demos he heard sounded great. She recorded a cover of lesley. Gore's it's my party for quincy jones tribute album. Which was one of the first thing she'd released in eighteen months two years. Something like that. And the high point of the period for her was in march. twenty seven. She did a song with her father's hero. Tony bennett and cover body and soul for two album and the footage from that recording session is sweet because she turns into this little girl. She's so just in. All of tony bennett. But it's also tough to watch because she is so hard on herself and she and you see even though she is. Amy winehouse multi grammy winning back to black world. Conquering she she. "And i think he could say that below the names just mentioned to she was just so small and so fragile but she had that power and listening to music. I mean it makes you really believe in seoul's like you don't know where that voice came from. She was very petite. She was five feet tall or something but that huge voice. There's no other way to explain how that came out of that body. I think there was a beautiful description of sounding like a broken heart. Marinating and whiskey and cigarette. Smoke very evocative. It also was. I mean for better and for worse it was part of her self destruction right. She was trying all the while that she's projecting this booming voice physically she's disappearing. She's immersed eating disorder. She's getting smaller and smaller. Literally as if trying to disappear. She's doing things that actually were in some ways really hurting her voice the all the smoking and the drinking and the drug use and making it difficult for her to show up on time for things or participate in concerts that she needed to and probably would have wanted to so there. Was this yin and yang of you. Know putting yourself well out there in the world and at the same time. Shrinking interesting got her first song that most people knew including myself was rehab. Because it almost you know..

"And she was working and in fact it was her mother who is an important person. In amy's life. Cynthia who was often responsible for a lot of the child care. And you know maybe taking the school moving kids around. And that's important because that was an important relationship for amy and it's also important. Because cynthia and actually both her parents were very musical people even though they weren't musical stars let's talk about the presence of music in her early life. oh absolutely i think was initially from her father. Who worshiped frank sinatra. And sarah vaughan dinah washington as you said. She loved her father so much. I mean she was a self described daddy's little girl. She had the phrase tattooed on her arm and those musical influence from her dad. She grew up also idol-worshipping from early days. That's a lot of her. musical roots. Came from but as you said. Her grandmother cynthia. Her mother's mother dated jazz. Legend in england called ronnie scott and she had all these connections in the jazz community. And i think some of her uncle's also were jazz musicians so it was a very musical household but as you said her grandmother. Cynthia recognized gifts. I think probably before. Her parents was the one who recommended that she started attending stage school. And there's a great story that her father says he goes to see one of our early recitals and he assume she was just going to be acting. He had no idea that she could sing like that. She'd song around the house a bit but he was just a shocked as most people mcreilly when he first saw on the stage and opened her mouth so he loves jazz music. He played as you said sinatra. Who became very important to amy herself. Ella fitzgerald dinah washington. These were like the early recordings and musical influences. This maternal uncle who played the horn mother's sister was addressing or herself a sort of semi professional. If you will not you know not really professional but sang clubs and so on and that made quite the impression on her at the same time this is going on. She is first of all. It's important say she is actually very intelligent. She is noted as intelligent and early school year. She reads fairly early. She writes early her potential. Let's say academically seems to be there on the one hand and then on the other hand. Is this rebellious behavior. And as she sort of describes it easily bored not much holzer attention. Certainly not the kinds of things that school offered academically and particularly in a rule bound. Sort of way not her. She would have described not her cup of tea hum but the music did and singing did and then sometimes she even describes becoming so overwrought or panicky and anxious in school that she would just burst out into a fly me to the moon by frank sinatra as her way of just expressing her anxiety and sing at the top of her lungs. Which of course did not win her any friends with her teachers..

"That's about the best I can offer. Okay. So anyway. Lily called her such a lost soul singer, Josh Rogin wrote drugs to her gift, her soul and her light long before they took her life in peace aiming accordance enquist reached a verdict of misadventure and that report was released on the twenty sixth of October explained that Amy's blood content was hundred sixteen. In. Geez per one hundred Mil. That's a lot of a lot of cheap suit extremely intoxicated bashing. Yes, which is point four, one, six, percent a whole lot of metrics and I'm assuming that's a whole. Almost five times legally drunk. Okay was it point zero eight? Point Zero. Eight is legally drunk in most states, and she was all of us the two point five. She was a even know how you can drink that much and not pass out like it seems like halfway there. You would just fall on your face passed out. That's almost like you were injecting it. If you hear something that's it's so. You're so you're so drunk at that point. I don't I don't know how you get that drunk because normally at about at about point to you just you just fall out according to the coroner the unintended consequence of such potentially fatal levels was the cause of sudden death. So moving to her service because remember I was telling you guys that she. She grew up Jewish but went to we should go to synagogue for young pour out of respect and things like that. But she actually did have a traditional Jewish you funeral service and that was led by Rabbi Frank Helmer. One houses his favorite song was Carol Kings so far away and her funeral service ended with her loved ones singing it, which has. Really really. Sweet. Hilly Osborne and Mark Ronson were among some of the famous friends that Wind House friends and family at the cemetery earlier that day she ended up being cremated, following those services and our ashes were buried alongside her grandmother Cynthia's which I find. Incredibly sweet because remember she had the Tattoo of her grandmother on her back or on her body. So she did. Send the meant something to her Chris Goodman who was the UK based representative for White House told Britain's Daily Mail that her father gave a touching eulogy at that ceremony. Mitch was funny and he told some great stories from her childhood Headstrong was and how clearly family and friends recognized stories and laughed long he stressed that so many times she was happier now than she had ever been and he'd spoken about her boyfriend and pay tribute to a lot of people in her life Mitch White House, at during the ceremony that his daughter was trying to overcome her addiction having told him daddy had enough I can't stand the look on your face in. The family's faces anymore he said, he planned to set a foundation in his daughter's name to help people struggling with addiction knowing she wasn't depressed knowing she passed away. Happy. makes us all feel better he said a family friend Zeki all fifty five services had been a joyful celebration of the singer's Life Mixed Mitch gave a eulogy and he managed to get through very well considering Mitch's last words to amy in his eulogy was good night. My Angel. Goodman said. Sleep Tight Mumia daddy love you ever so much. The one person that was missing from the service was Blake he was not in attendance because he was currently serving a thirty two month jail sentence. White, house, had only released two albums like we're talking about in her short career winning five Grammy Awards rid awards, the it's being one of the first woman to win to win two nine nations for the top award often made headlines because of her drug alcohol abuse, eating disorders, destructive relationships, and abortive performances, which is really sad saying what a talent she was George Michael actually called her the most soulful vocalist. This country has ever seen and you wanted to have one of her biggest fans rose France. France. Adored her while prince absolutely loved her. He was a massive fan. So after her death, the Amy White House Foundation was set up by the White House family and was launched on the Fourteenth of September two thousand eleven, which would have been her twenty eighth birthday and its aim is to help young people and work with other charitable organizations to provide frontline support. Its central office is in north. London. But also has an office in. New. York. Operating under the named Amy Wine House. Foundation US and amy's brother works fulltime for that foundation having giving up his career as an online music journalist to work for that foundation. The charity itself works to prevent the effects of drug and alcohol misuse on young people and aims to support, inform, inspire, vulnerable, and disadvantaged young people to help them reach their full potential on. March thirteenth with the help of X. Addict Russell brand that name should be familiar to our audience because he is a British comic who actually was married to Katy Perry. The foundation launched the Anyone House Foundation Resilience Program for schools across the UK which aims to provide effective. Around drugs alcohol and dealing with emotional issues and anyone who believes that young people give you a part of Amy's legacy and you can help if you guys feel. So moved by going to the do amy one House Foundation Dot Org to get any information about donations or helping, and if you guys are genuinely want to help I will leave that address in the show notes for this week show there is a statue unveiled. Would have been her thirty first birthday, which was a sculptor Scott Eaton. And you can find that in Camden town north London and fans and relatives gathered for the unveiling at the candidate stable markets were it will be a permanent memorial to her. She will actually have a permanent memorial. And then there was a documentary film that was created. Called Amy and. It covers her life, her relationships or struggles for substance abuse. Career which you know the substance abuse eventually causing her death and it was premiered at Kansas Film Festival. And was being reviewed as a tragic masterpiece. Brilliant heartbreaking unmissable aunts won best documentary at the Oscars Best Music Film at the grammys a BAFTA for best documentary. The MTV music, awards for best documentary which I didn't even know it was a thing. In addition to nomination for the back award for best British film. And that was barely a year after her death. So. There's a lot of controversy that along with this film, but it's a it's a big amount of nation of hundreds of different clips of Amy's life. So a I mean, that's are interested in in documentaries or rocky memories. This is probably a good one for her in October of two, thousand seventeen it was announced by one house, his father Mitch that Western musical based on amy was in the works and he also revealed the information about the foundation and in two thousand eighteen they had signed deal her her estate. Her family had signed a deal with monumental pictures make a bio. Pic about her life which was going to be directed by Amy Owen and produced by ever hayward, and it was going to be adapted for the big screen by Jefferson who had written Kiki boots and it's a boy girl thing and the project was slated to start coming two, thousand, nineteen. I. Don't know what came of that because I feel like if there was actually a bio pic about amy wine.

"That. Yes. Wow. Okay. Well, he had a hootenanny clearly. And I bet there is no hootenanny quite like Gills Holland hootenanny. Here's probably not will she covered Marvin Gaye I heard it through the grapevine along with Paul Weller and Holland's rhythm and Blues Orchestra she also performed toots and the maytals monkey man did not. We just lose to very recently we'd actually did you can say that there's opposed on our twitter page about Yup Yup it gets it gets harder. Because in January of two, thousand, eight video allegedly showing amy wine-house smoking. Crack cocaine surfaced leading to a brief stint in Rehab and she was arrested in May of two, thousand, eight or questioning but she wasn't formally charged in the case because police could not officially determine what she was smoking in the video and I didn't realize just having a video of you smoking something could to an arrest yeah. That's. That's scary after publicly admitting to illegal substance abuse aim was actually denied a US visa due to her use and abuse of narcotics, and this prevented her from performing live at the two thousand eight Grammy Awards insists she actually performed in London via satellite during that evening ceremony one has won five grammys including prizes for best new artist record year song of the year and becoming the first British singer to win five grammy awards as well as time with singer beyond say for the record for the most grammy wins by female artists in a single night. Knows actually broke that record when she won sticks in one night and Adele actually tied that record with six grammy wins in two, thousand and twelve. I going to say if you think about how influential British music has been and how big it's banned in America if she broke the record at the time, that's really saying something. Again you think about how big the Beatles and led Zeppelin and the cakes and. But what are those? Those are all men? All those artists are men. We're talking specifically about females, right? Because I hate to say it because I do get up on a soapbox talk about this but the music in the film industry are incredibly misogynistic and it took a really long time for women to kind of get their dues and that's all I'm going to say about that. But that says something when we so Adele is British and she wants six yeah, and beyond a is frigging the Queen I mean I'm not gonNA argue with that she's literally Queen Bee there there have been fights about the grammy's and the Oscars kind of being misogynistic and leaning toward males. For her to come in and dominate like that. Really does say something sorry to the Rock and Roll Heaven Audience, which hates when I get up on mine my feminine soapbox but there I am. So on April twenty, six, two, thousand, eight, she was cautioned after she admitted to police that is she had slapped a thirty eight year old man in the face. A common salt events her first of two she? Herself in and was held overnight also like I didn't realize that you couldn't just slap someone I. thought that was okay also. Frowned upon. I need to change my life perspective not have done that because I know it was frowned upon. I would have I would have responded differently. Yes. I, see voluntarily turned herself in was held overnight. Please said at her arrival that she was in no fit state to be interviewed but she actually fainted in summer two thousand and was diagnosed with Emphysema Oh Yeah, which was a shocking warning that. More smoking and drinking would permanently ruin her natural gifts. But that message didn't take. A she was booed off the stage gigs around the world when she was too drunk to perform and canceled more concerts than she played. She left the stage in the middle of a performance in Saint Lucia in early two, thousand nine unable to remember the lyrics to our own songs. And, in her words, she was bored and her commitment to recording songs for the James Bond movie quantum of solace fell through while she claimed that she quit doing drugs in two thousand, eight alcohol kind of became her conflict pain. So just folks on that for one second because she was actually you asked me if anyone has done a song for quantum of solace and I thought she had. And it was actually given to leash a keys so. Thank you for you're British missing out on getting to do a signature bond song would be would be kind of a blow. And thinking about that the company that would put you in think about all the bombings news dumb them Shirley Bassey Tina Turner. Donna Adele Salesman Sam Smith Iran Dorion us. Way Housing. Living daylights yeah. itself it saw no. So I mean, she missed out on something really big and I don't know if that's just conjecture that she felt through or. I don't know the reasons why she didn't do the bonds. Or did she just couldn't Couldn't function at that point is what it sounds like. She couldn't perform in concert so. It could be the whole connor thing where you know they Leeann rhymes did pedophile live and they wanted a more mature voice and so they went with Tricia you're so they they took an older voice. So Alicia keys is a very different sound naming wine houses. So they could have just wanted a different sound. What my research said is it fell through so it could have been either because she wasn't able to function or if the filmmakers had chosen a different sound but just putting the pieces together, she was unable to perform in concer it sounded like, yeah, in July two, thousand, eight, she stated. That she had been diagnosed with some area of Emphysema. So this is when she announced it publicly to the world she had this, and then she said that she was getting herself together by eating loads of healthy foods, sleeping loads, playing my guitar, making music, writing letters to my husband every day because I'm pretty sure at this point, he was in prison again she also kept a Bertel tanning bed in her flat. She began doing precautionary tests on her lungs and chest added clinic for what was reported to be a chest infection she was in and out of the facilities and was granted permission to set. Her own schedule regarding home leave and she returned to the hospital on. November. Twenty third for ported reaction to medication that she was taking or the early stages of emphysema at the two thousand eight I've worn novello awards in May. She became the first ever artists to receive two nominations for the top award that song musically and Lyrically, and she won the award for love is losing game and was nominated for you know I'm no good and Rehab a novella winner for best contemporary two, thousand, six on and she also received the two thousand eight nomination for the best-selling British Song White House nominated for. A two thousand eight MTV Europe Award in the act of the year category. So you guys got to remember the she put out that album like two years ago in our time law, but her drug problems constantly pose a threat to her career not is due to like bad publicity of canceled shows but because it could have ended her life alcohol had according to her father medical tests show that amy had seventy percent lung capacity in two thousand, eight on Roddick for it is very problematic because if I've learned anything from Cova, did you drop to ninety percent they have to place you on a ventilator. At seventy s she was seventy percentage.

Researchers develop 3D printed objects that can track and store how they are used

"Us without using batteries or electron. Six instead these systems use a method called back scatter through which a device can share information by reflecting signals that have been transmitted to it with an antenna previously the team developed the first three D printed objects that connect to WI fi without electron IX, these purely plastic devices can measure if a detergent bottle is running low, and then automatically order more online. The researchers tackled the monitoring problem I in their previous study their system tracks movement in one direction which works well for monitoring sailon dri detergent levels or measuring wind or water speed. But now they needed to make objects that could monitor bidirectional motion like the opening and closing of a pill bottle both of the antennas are identical. So the team had to devise a way to decode which direction the cap was moving the gears teeth have specific sequencing that encodes. A message it's kind of like Morse code. So when you turn the cap in one direction, you see the message going forward, but when you turn the cap in the other direction, you get a reverse message. In addition to tracking for example pill bottle cap movement, the same method could be used to monitor say how people use prosthetics. The researchers also wanted to create a three D printed object that could store its usage information while out of WI fi range for this application. They chose an insulin pen that could monitor its use. And then signal when it was getting low this method requires a mechanical motion like the pressing of a button and stores that information by rolling up a spring inside a ratchet that can only move in one direction each time. Someone pushes the button the spring gets tighter can't unwind Intel the user releases the ratchet, hopefully when it's in range of the back scatter sensor. Then as the spring unwinds. It moves a gear that triggers a switch to contact an antenna repeatedly as the gear turns each contact is counted to determine how many times the user pressed the button. All right. It's kind of complicated. But in another sense, it's fairly simple to these devices. Are only prototypes at the moment to show that it is possible for three D printed materials to sense by directional movement. And then store that data. The next challenge will be to take these concepts and shrink them down. So that they can be embedded in real pill bottles prosthetics and insulin.

"Advantage. In addition to this into three sixty claims flow state stabilization to perform better than that of the new hyper smooth feature in the gopro hero seven, which is pretty impressive. It has a removable twelve hundred mil amp hour battery that can last for approximately sixty minutes while shooting five point seven k video and sharing an edge. Getting the footage can be done on an Iowa's or Android mobile device, which is a bonus to connecting the camera via WI fi direct connection can also be used to transfer files to a smartphone. Using the included lightning USB type c or micro USB cables, a micro esteem port is also found on the bottom of the camera along with the whole for mounting to a tripod or other accessory. However, the coolest feature is this new excess Serie called the drifter, which basically turns the camera into a mini football that can be launched through the air with the one x the frame can always be repositioned. After the throw letting you frame up the action. How you want it combined with high-speed capture you can get three K at one hundred frames a second or four K video at fifty frames per second. You can get quite creative. Specially with action sports the drifter looks just like a Nerf vote.
