"It's Susie Schuster. Welcome back to the rich eisen show. I'm Susie Schuster in for rich eisen, who is in Casey of course for the draft and it wouldn't be an appearance for me if I didn't have my trusty sidekick in the smartest woman in sports at my side. This is Amy Trask, of course. And Amy, I don't want to do this show without you, so I basically begged you to come down the four O 5 today. Is that true? Well, I didn't actually take the four O 5 full disclosure. Side streets. Honor, thrilled to be here. And I want to make clear to you, my arms are crossed, not because I'm in a testy mood, not because of any sort of ill will. I'm freezing. Because studios are awful. Always, always, too much air conditioning. So I'm freezing, so I got a turtleneck on and I'm crossing my arms to stay warm. Also, last time we ice cream during the show, we will do that from now on, but I couldn't pull it together today. Also, I was so cold after that, that I had severe defrost issues. Also, a note to self Chris brockman, Mike del tufo, of course, and TJ Jefferson great to see you guys. I had such bad sugar chills from last time because eating an ice cream first thing in the morning is not a smart idea, by the way. Okay, but I do it almost every morning. 'cause you're insane. Ice cream is a good breakfast. It's dairy. It's calcium. Strong bones. Amy task, of course, from CBS sports. And also known as the princess of darkness, which once again is the greatest of all monikers. I shall forever cherish my nickname. I do think it's the best ever. A couple other good ones are stink, snacks, but princess of darkness is the best. By the way, I would drop sneak and snacks from now on and just roll with the princess thing. It's what's for breakfast right now. Let's talk at staff a week. That's why you're here and we wanted to kind of dive into things. What was it like around the facility around the Raiders with Al Davis during draft week? That's a great question because when we talk about the draft, people always focus on the draft room, the draft and what's going on in the draft room. Things are going on throughout the organization. I was not in our draft room, although I was in regular contact with Al and there were some moments when that contact was interesting. But the entire organization is busy. "FaceTiming me from Barcelona, Jack. Hey, I love you, kid. I'm busy. I'm doing a show. I'm eating ice cream. You know what? Jack Jackson. By the way, he will. And by the way, he is a sneaker move. He has a sneaker company. If I want to show something, I'm going to show my nephew, right? I mean, he's got a great. Do you know the name of it? It's like shoe kicks, right? It's on Instagram. I thought he was FaceTiming you to get some ice cream. That's what I thought. By the way, as well as should. This would be a great opportunity, but no, I mean, I'm shilling the sneakers. And we're showing ice cream here. So the other question is, on Lamar, it's like, the ravens right now, aren't they in a situation where it's time to start planning? Again, this is a negotiation thing, right? It's a business, but at what point are we going to say? We have a season ahead of us. We need to know what we're doing here. Well, that's a great deal. And it is harder to negotiate with a player who doesn't have an agent. Not because the player isn't competent or capable of representing himself. Players can do that. But you have to be very, very careful and judicious as an organization, you can talk a lot more sternly, toughly sort of, you can have at it when you're talking with someone who's not your player, but with your player, you don't want to say anything in a discussion that's going to be hard to mend, assuming the relationship goes on. It's not that you are going to not speak honestly or make your substantive points. You just want to be a little bit careful about feelings. One more question before break while I sit here, reading an ice cream here on the rich eisen show. My question name me for you is when is this going to resolve? If you were a guest woman, when is this resolving? Well, here's a little news break about me. I'm not a real guessing person, I'll give you my best hunch. I don't know. It's a great question. It is a great question. I mean, I asked it, so I think again, if you're a team that is making a change at quarterback, you want that resolve as soon as possible, so you can get ready and use the off season. Now, look, Lamar is such a good quarterback. He can come in and

"Can you put that up? There was no. No. Anyway, we'll give an update later on next hour on how everyone on the show and your kids are doing in the bracket challenge, but I went 12 and four. Obviously, I didn't have Princeton or Furman, but when Haagen dazs, sponsors the rich eisen show, I will come on and we'll do ice cream seating. We'll have a bracket with flavors. That is a brilliant idea. And then we could do it. Number one seed cookies and cream. We could do. The top 5. Not a cookie dough guy. Okay. Chocolate chip. And then we could do a bracket for the toppings. It's a great idea. Sprinkles and whipped cream and sauces. Are you doing next Friday? You know what I find funny about, you know, we did this bracket challenge with all the listeners and we expected a few people and not expect nearly close to a thousand. I just randomly start going through yesterday. There are like at least three people that I saw that named their teams after me, which I thought was kind of funny. One guy was TJ's lost Twitter. Someone was like TJ's master key. I saw another one that was TJ shoe game. So I was like, what's that? Means shout out. You're a public figure. And the Sullivan standard now applies to you. Oh, well, please found in this Sullivan standard. Before you do that, what do you want, Jay Philly? I'll take chocolate and whipped cream. Yeah, you will. All right. I'm just saying. Jeremy, what's the Sullivan stand? It is a standard that applies when you are deemed to be a public figure such that when you sue someone for defamation, the standard to prove it is higher than if you're not a public figure. You have to prove malice or reckless disregard. So at consume somebody or someone can sue me. No, if you're a public figure and you're suing someone for defamation, you have a harder task ahead of you. You're the coolest person I know. Okay, by the way, I'm letting you know. You want whipped cream? Yeah, I'll take whipped cream. Except for bread. Chocolate or color to both. Colored. Very similar to what's going on with Brett Favre and pat McAfee, correct? Bingo. Fascinating. Liz, text me what you want, by the way. Let's go to Lamar because I do have to ask you a couple more Lamar questions or else they won't let me back on the show and even all over the set now. Yeah, I'm just getting chocolate chips while I ask you. We have a little accent with the sprinkles. What do you expect is going to happen with Lamar? Boy. I think I don't know. I obviously don't know. I hope that Baltimore finds a way to get the deal done with him. I think Baltimore would be silly not to. Again, and do what? You've got Lamar Jackson and do what. If you choose to go on in a different direction, what are you going to do and is it going to be as good or better? And that's going to be hard to equal. So I hope it's Baltimore. I hope they get things done. His FaceTime uni. Sorry, Jack, I'm busy. What are we right now? Yeah, FaceTiming me from Barcelona, Jack. Hey, I love you, kid. I'm busy. I'm doing a show. I'm eating ice cream. You know what?

"Sunday. We got cookies. I'm gonna snack mom tomorrow for Lilly. I might just take this all home with us and recycle it tomorrow. Absolutely. We got chocolate sprinkles. Fantastic. Fantastic. This is kind of weird. These are like these sparkly kind of sprinkly thingies that are, and this is all involved for my cow bears. So listeners, these are all in home Tupperware containers. She didn't go out and buy this stuff. This is stuff that's in the trash family household. This is a sprinkle scoop. Oh, also, one other thing? When I eat ice cream? I do it with a fork. Why? That's sacrilege. What? No, because then you don't have as much like overflow. You get more ice cream and you don't have as much and by the way, this is the recycled plastic. Well, it's impressive. When I eat ice cream, I eat it with a scooper because I'm like, why not just take it all in? So listeners, that's what I'm just trying to say. Are you gonna scoop? Who's gonna scoop? I think I'm gonna scoop. Here, let me give you, if anybody wants the dairy free, I brought pistachio because it's a nut. Just for the rice. I mean, I can do some play by play for the radio audience. So there are about a half dozen pints of ice cream on the desk. You half a dozen mugs. You already broke one. I did great. I broke the one that Chris. And you broke the one that I got Chris gave rich because he thinks that Richie go maniac because his name and likeness are on a lot of mugs. You too can ever retire in show mug by the way. I'm taking a while. I am so taking my little size of the logo. You guys, if everybody's gonna have some, you can either come over here or you can tell me the kind of sprinkles you want. You want coffee. Oh, so you're gonna make it. So I'm gonna scoop. And then Amy has. And then you can tell me if you want. Dairy free whipped cream, regular whipped cream, chocolate sauce, whether you want some cookies in them again for the radio audience. Small table next to her that has 48 kinds of sprinkles. And a sad glass with me. Well, I had to make room for the ice cream. Then I'll have the most career. Amy, is it embarrassing that rich walks around wearing swag with himself on it? Is that like a bad look? You can be honest here. I gotta think that through because you could look at it from another perspective, which is it's just a display of confidence. This is the rich eisen show. It is. I thought it was my show. By the way, I refer to it as the Susie Schuster show, but I do. Don't tell Rhett. Does the logo need to be 5 and a half inches? Can't we just have a cricket so pissy every time a new swag item comes down? He wants the logo gigantic. And since Liz is here, Liz wild, who runs the show. And I was going to say, and since riches out cold, busy drink a lot last night and is up late playing poker in Hawaii. I can see wait wait, rich is in Hawaii. This is his yearly break. He goes with his poker guys. Pickleball. I know he was on break. I just didn't know it was in Hawaii. He's in Hawaii. There he is. There's my Thai rich right there. And by the way, he is mister Mai Tai. Our daughter calls him mister Mai Tai. That said. That said, because he's not watching right now, we can add math them and have fun with this. Thank you. I was just wiping it on my pants 'cause I'm a mom, and that's what I do. So anyway, so we were saying, yeah, he's sleeping, so we can make fun of him. It is his show. You know, he can watch it on delay. On YouTube? Well, our YouTube channel. By the way, because it's great, by the way, in case you didn't know that Roku just plays. We're just going to go all the time. We're going to loop this baby. And just want you to know in honor of having so much fun. I wore my Looney Tunes kicks. Yeah, you did. I tell you role. I appreciate that. I did not because I don't have any. What do you have? What's your flavor, by the way? We're going to see what we're going to do because women do this. While I scoop, you're going to tell me what you want and I'm going to ask you about Lamar Jackson. Okay, what are my choices? Your choices are chocolate chocolate chip, chocolate chip cookie dough, coffee, 'cause it's the morning. Mint chip pistachio and oat milk s'mores. I'm going to have some of the chocolate chip chocolate chip cookie dough and the oatmeal s'mores. Okay, so watch me scoop and ask at the same time. Here we go. Okay. So Lamar Jackson, he tweeted out 31 teams are going to be awfully disappointed that they didn't pay more attention to me. And by that, that's not verbatim. That's just my surmising, right? So what is happening? And you see, how come no one's jumping on this Amy? You know, a lot of people have asked me, is there collusion going on? And the answer is, we don't know. If all of these teams are coming to this decision not to talk to Lamar, independently, then it's not collusion. If they are plotting and planning, that's an entirely different subject. Why teams are not lining up for Lamar Jackson is beyond. You didn't leave room for toppings. Oh my gosh. You gotta just decorate around this. And amateur didn't have that in my opinion. Look, you can go through the list of all the teams that are quarterback 80. They should be camped out on Lamar's long trying to get Lamar. And that's what I'm saying. I heard on another show this morning, I'll just say it on Dan show, talking about Dan Snyder, why doesn't he just sign him before he goes? I mean, is that even that even in the realm of reason? Well, I don't know if Dan would do it or not. It would be a nice little parting gift for him to his fellow owners assuming he sells, which I believe he will.

"It's not done till it's done. Anyone can change their mind. The packers can change their mind. Jordan love and I'm not wishing this on anyone and I'm not, it's not a jinx, but Jordan love could be on a bicycle tomorrow and hurt his knee and then the packers might have to rethink this. Someone at the jets may all have decided to pick up the phone and call Lamar Jackson anything can change for any of these three parties. As I learned in business, it ain't done until it's done. Do you think this let me play off of that? Is this one of the more confounding so publicly done negotiations you've seen? Boy, I'd have to go back a lot of years. It certainly is up there. I don't know, I'd have to think about what some others are. I guess the fun part is I keep getting older every year, but I keep being surprised every year and I keep being stunned every year and every year there's something that's a bit of a surprise. This is certainly up there, Susie. I don't know if it's the top one. Amy Trask, Susie, Schuster here on the rich eisen show and Chris. We talked about this earlier. Time frame, who knows? I mean, this is kind of like, it seems like you've got two big egos squaring off against each other and keep people keep saying and keep asking their guests. Like, what do you think the time frame is, but we've got the giraffe coming up. You'd think they'd want to get this settled before the draft. Obviously picks her in order. This BS about September, come on. It's not going to go to September. And the other thing you want if you're the jets and you're giving up, considerable considerable consideration. If you're giving up picks, if you're giving up a lot to get Aaron, you want him there. For the whole off season program and we know he didn't participate last year, and I made this comment last year when Aaron was complaining that the receivers weren't in sync with him. Well, hey pal, you want your receivers to be in sync with you. Go to the off season program and sync up. In other words, I don't think you get it both ways. I don't think you get to opt not to go, which is your right since it's voluntary, and yet complain that you're not in sync if you don't go. If I'm the jets, that's part of my negotiation with Aaron, which is we want you, but we need you all in. We need you here syncing up. And I would be stunned if Aaron doesn't do that. But in order to do that, they need to get this deal done. What do you think, two of the guys that we're not really talking about? But they're directly affected here, like Zach Wilson and Jordan love. How do you feel those guys are feeling watching all of this play out? That's exactly what they're doing. They're watching it play out. And I don't know either of those men personally, so I don't know how they're reacting to it. There's certainly comporting themselves very, very well publicly. I don't know what they're saying behind the scenes. Let's have a little fun here, right? Because, okay, there's camera 7. Say that you were like, you're sitting across from the packers and the jets. With your experience, that's them. Errands there, the jets are here. The package, what do you say to them? I say stop negotiating, stop playing games, this need not be a quid pro quo. This not need not be a tit for tat, find a way to make a deal. And I ask each of them to say, here's what we're willing to yield on. Here's what we're willing to forgo work together and collaborate to make a deal. Don't negotiate to win. A negotiation doesn't have to be a win loss. Find a way to get it done if that's what you want to do. And then end the national nightmare. Because we have to move on to something else. I mean, don't you think? I mean, no one's talking about anything else, maybe a little bit of Lamar Jackson, a little bit about, I don't know, Chris, I'm trying to think of what is more interesting than the NFL. We just need some more stories than this. The bears. The bears have had a good free agency run so have the dolphins. So, you know, they're kind of moves are getting kind of pushed to the back burner a little bit. The Giants have had a nice off season. The eagles have lost some players, but they just kept Darius slay today. But yeah, these two guys, these two quarterbacks are just kind of dominating the headlines until something gets done. We're just going to keep talking about it. But you're not suggesting New York media is going to have a heyday with this no matter what, are you? You know, in the back pages have been awesome. It's fun to have something to talk about on the back pages again and also I think that the relationship Amy with the media and the players is so different now. It used to be, you'd walk in a room, there were a couple people there that were the national voices and they commanded respect. I don't think that that relationship is anything like it used to be, so I don't think Aaron Rodgers cares about the New York media. He doesn't care, he's 39 year old guy who has shown that he didn't have to answer to anybody. He'll only go on pat McAfee, right? So I think I think and I heard somebody else talking about this on the way in. Can't wait to see him with the New York media. I don't think he cares. Well, you raise a great point. It's national media now. When I started well, first of all, kids today. When I started my career in the NFL, there was no social media. There were no zooms, there were no, we didn't, you wanted to get something from the league office. They faxed it to you. You guys know what a fax is, right? Because Google it. That's how we got things speedy. Remember the Edelstein paper? The Edelstein letter, that might have, that was how media was in those days. There were exactly what you said, some beat people, columnist, reporters, a few national, but media today, it's all over. It's a very different landscape, and social media is media. Yeah, no kidding. Anybody can walk in there with a phone in their media. We're going to take a quick break, Amy. We're going to come back, talk Lamar Jackson. We're also going to talk ice cream because I want to bring something special here to Roku channel and it's not enough to bring mimosas. We're going to have an ice cream throw down when we come back. So we're going to take a quick break here on the rich eisen show. It's ice cream. See you in a minute, guys. Get your spoons.

"Has a play that he or that it can make, the jets, the packers, Aaron, just sit down and collaborate and make a deal. I have so many questions for you, Amy Trask. First of all, who has the leverage? Well, I'm not, everybody has a piece of strength I will say in the deal. The packers have a player under contract that the jets want. The jets are looking to take off the packers, financials, a player they no longer want. Aaron can say to the packers, be reasonable with the team I want to go to or by the way, I'm coming back and I'll see you. And everybody's going to push back and say, Amy, he's not really going to do that. Well, maybe he won't. But he can. And everybody's going to say, well, you know, the packers don't want to give them up for a little bit. What would they rather have him show up? And the jets aren't going to want to give up too much. Okay, how much is too much? If everybody just takes a deep breath and recognize that each one of these parties has some strength they bring to the discussion and each party has some weakness, the jets clearly want him. Aaron clearly wants to go there. The packers clearly want him gone. Sit down and make a deal. Why wouldn't the Jets have done all of that before they got on the plane to come out here? That's a great question. I don't know if they tried and got nowhere. I don't know if they didn't try. I don't know if it was an oversight. I don't know if it was intentional. I don't know if it was an ownership driven strategy or a management driven strategy if it was a strategy at all or if it was an oopsies. So that's a technical legal term. I learned in law school. Oopsies. Oopsies. Yeah. I thought that was something that you probably got with your JD. If you were advising Alan, this is Al. What would you tell him? Well, first of all, your honor, objection that assumes facts not in evidence that Al would have accepted any advice in this situation, but you're right. I certainly would have tried. And I would have said this, find a way to make a deal. If you know what you're willing to give, don't play games. If you know what you're willing to give and they're going to take it fine, if they're not soul search, decide if you're willing to give some more. And if you're not, you better have a plan B Amy Trask here on the rich eisen show Susie Schuster infra rich, who has been pacing around the house about this. And I've heard broccoli going after him saying, just give him the pics, do whatever, make it happen. Of course, freaking out. You can't give him the picks. They need to build around whoever they're going to have in his QB, but okay, then the question for you to ask rich. When he's pacing and ranting, although I know he doesn't really know. Yes, he does. Yes, he does. Oh, he's ranting. Oh, he paces and rants and ransom paces. And ask him, okay, rich. And do what? If the jets will not give to the packers what the packers want, and if the packers are unyielding, such that the jets decide not to go forward and do what? Now, I think the ando what should be they should be talking to Lamar Jackson as an and do what, or maybe as an and or an or or an other than that whole Lamar Jackson thing is another conversation altogether. Oh, we're going to get. But the question rich is, if the jets don't get this deal done, they better have asked themselves the question and answered and do what? And they better have a good answer to that. It seems to me at this point, all they talk about is, and this is every story. Okay, if Aaron Rodgers comes, they're immediately a playoff team, blah, blah, blah. So isn't this a league where a business comes first and winning is all that matters. Why wouldn't they just say screw it? Depends on the team. 32 different businesses owned by 32 different controlling owners. And I use that expression because it's a league requirement that there be one controlling owner even when there are multiple owners. All 32 look at that differently. There's a wide revenue gap between the highest revenue clubs and the lowest revenue clubs, so money does take on more of a meaning to some clubs and to others. There's a lot of considerations. I work for a team owner who was a football man and that was both a positive and a negative in a financial sense. He wanted to do what he wanted to do without regard to finances. And then it was always Amy go find the money. But all the money came from the football team. It wasn't a family where there was wealth in other areas like other teams. So the packers and jets discrepancy should be fairly large than I would imagine. That's a lot of money for Aaron Rodgers. In terms of what's on the packers roster. And by the way, everybody keeps saying to your point you made earlier and I'm sorry to go back to that and digress. But everybody keeps saying the packers have all the leverage, the packers have all the leverage. No, they don't. Neither do the jets, neither does Aaron, they each have a piece of strength and they each have an area where they're going to have to give. To the packers really want Aaron coming back and saying, hi, I'm here. First day of school, I'm here. No, a lot of people say Aaron won't do that. And he might well not, but he can. And he's a wild card, and he doesn't want to be told what to do with that's very clear to any of us really want to be. No, what to do. I don't. No, it makes me insane. Yeah. It doesn't really work well with me either. No, that's not so well. Not so great. But Amy, let me ask you this. Mike florio brought this up yesterday. Last year, or was it the year before, Aaron was very specific in his language when he said he was immunized instead of vaccinated. And with pat, he said the word intention. Do you think he's playing games with language and that he's giving himself kind of an out or a loophole to just blow this whole thing up if he doesn't get what he wants in the immediate and just retire? Mike florio raised a great, great, great point and the answer is I don't know if he used the word intent or intention with that intent to leave himself an out, but it certainly can be an out. So whether he did it with the and I'm using the word intent 7000 times, whether he used the word intent or intention with that intent, I don't know, but, you know, I intend to not eat ice cream every morning for breakfast, but I do. I don't say I'm not going to eat ice cream every morning for breakfast. But Aaron's point is fair whether it was intended as an out or not.

And he'd love to talk to you. He really likes to talk to everybody. So please call in age 404 two O four, which I know there's a couple calls. Please don't hang up. Roll through because I've got Amy Trask with me, the princess of darkness who walked in with her own tote bag that says princess of darkness. Hi, aim. Hi, suz, I love that you referenced Brent stories as gorgeous because I use that word to describe football games. What a gorgeous game or a gorgeous play. What kind of feeling each other on the gorgeous when it comes to using a descriptive word? I feel like having you back on was a must do after that last show. I just felt like we had something going on here. I think we do, and I also think fair warning, I'm getting kind of comfortable in this chair. By the way, you look at them here. Kind of comfortable. Yeah, you look good in that chair. I know what I get a kick out of here is the whole talk show host looked down on somebody rich as the whole chemistry and the whole psychology. You know about that Johnny Carson believed he always sat above somebody to look down on them. I feel like I could raise your chair up. It just as long as you don't put a booster chair out here 'cause that would be a little, you know, I had a lot of booster chairs growing up, but I could always sit cross legged, raised myself up. Watch us here on the Roku channel channel two ten, you know, everybody, I tell everybody that I'm an idiot. So I loved Roku. Is it makes it easier? I just clicked two things on the app and I listened to the show in the car. And then I basically spent the time texting TJ and Chris when I think something that Richard said is annoying. Which is on a break. It is true, TJ. Do I text in once a show? What do we think? I'd say maybe like two, three, two to four times a week, just depend. So it's not every show you don't. The texting, but yeah. Embarrassing. I look like such a, such as that. But everyone in Texas. Yeah. Caring spouse, loving wife, supportive other. I don't know, go with something good. Know it all. We could do that too. Anyway, you can have a mimosa. I'm a most a Friday old TJ. I also brought some maybe I brought some treats and stuff like that. So the whole beautiful thing about having Amy Trask on the princess of darkness, CBS sports analyst. And of course, the former CEO of the Raiders, I don't know, maybe most important woman in the history of football, but that's just me saying it. I'm just saying, you know? Rich, give it a woman a raise. Raise please. I get the hair and makeup for free. Actually. This all day. You give rich a raise if you want. That's fine. I'll take that. So anyway, I just thought having you on, maybe we'd up at a notch. We're going to talk here in Rogers, obviously. And we're going to talk Lamar Jackson and we can talk about anything else you like because you're you. But we thought we would try to bring it a little something special to the show this Friday. What did you bring Andrew? What did you bring yesterday? Not much. Okay, whatever just saying. Well, the ice cream for the 10 o'clock hour. Yeah. Ten, 11, 12, one. Okay, it's just a chalk on the east coast. And really it doesn't matter, because by the way, I'm not going to name names. Okay. Because the first rule of Fight Club, you don't talk about Fight Club. Okay. But I'm going to give a shout out to the person with the rich eisen show who went in and had some of the mint chocolate chip for breakfast. Yeah, that was Chris brockman who ate an entire pie. This is the thing. And now that you've named him, I'm going to say Chris. You put back the pint with about that much ice cream left. And if you know anything about me, I don't know. You won't be surprised to know that pint's gone now. I went in after you. I finished it up, gone because I had to make room for a pint that I put in. So, you know, you're going to put a pint back with that much ice cream in it when I'm here. That pint ain't living. Were you at all worried that Chris double dipped in that pine or did you see him put it in you didn't care? I wouldn't care. Would you have cared? Are you a devil dipper? I don't know what that means. I put it into a cup. Straight out of the pint, but I finished the point. You finished that. So that's totally fine. 8 four four two O four reaches the number to call. Please call because Chris brockman wants to talk to you. I'm just saying. So just. Whatever you want to talk about will take it. Just I may start calling in, by the way. On days when I'm not here, I may just call in to talk to Chris. A four four two O four rich. Normally normally it's Adam, but he basically took the day off and didn't tell any of us. So, I mean, I'm just saying, so now it's all up to Chris. Should we jump into this Aaron Rodgers thing Amy? Can you just tell me what's going on? I find this story to be somewhat tedious at this point because I said to start the show, if you and I were negotiating this, this would be done by now. Well, you're absolutely right. And I will share with you my thoughts on negotiation and why I just can't stand everything that I'm reading and hearing right now. But I want to mention something that Aaron Rodgers said a week or so ago that really resonated with me. He said to those people who are complaining that they're hearing much about the story that they're, you know, they're talking too much about the story that Aaron is saying too much. He said, so stop reading. Stop listening. If you're tired of hearing me talk, if you're tired of reading about what I'm saying, stop listening, stop reading. I thought that was wise advice. I think it's great advice. And I think that what Brent musburger said in the first hour was really apropos, which is it's March Madness and all we're talking about is Aaron Rodgers. Well, and as to your negotiation point, I have a very, very different approach to negotiations. Then most people. We always hear that phrase, let's sit across the table from one another and negotiate. Well, if the goal is to get a deal, how about we sit next to one another and we collaborate. If the goal of a negotiation is to get a deal, it doesn't need to be a quid pro quo. It doesn't need to be a tit for tat. You sit down. Susie shares, here's what's important to me in the negotiation aim, I say here's what's important to me in the negotiation or in the deal, Suzie, because we don't need to negotiate. If something's important to you and I don't care about it, have it. And please do the same for me and we're going to figure this out. I can't stand the posturing. I can't stand the quid pro quo. If the goal is to make a deal, collaborate and make a deal. Each party to this jigsaw puzzle, if you

"Does it say what the food was, Chris? It just says two organic meals per day. That could be anything. It doesn't sound like cookies. It could be a handful of almonds. It doesn't sound like cookies. Definitely not ice cream. Because it doesn't sound like we do have organic ice cream. There is no cost. You can contact. There's a contact section, and I think they'll give you all those. Details. Can you contact them, please? During the rest of the segment, let's see if we can get some kind of price point for this. And can you get extra food? An expert? Do you have ice cream food? Do you have ice cream? Is this a two seasons or a three seasons? Al Michaels would want to know what kind of seasons this is. Do you think that's only fair? That's a fair question. I think in terms of darkness retreats, it's probably a three. Oh my gosh. There's a branding opportunity there. Darkness to treat, princess of darkness. Yeah. I bet you knew that when you brought it up, huh? I was clever with that, right? Would you like that? It's almost like you do this. You think so. The guy who delivers the meals is kind of the guy who runs the place and he will sit and chat with you, whether you want a two second interaction or maybe 20 minutes. What if you don't want to just sit in check with you? You don't have to talk to him. He just delivers your meals, and you can kind of talk if it's been if you feel like, oh, it's been a while since I've had any human interaction. Let's have a conversation. Hey, how's it going? I'm really stuck on this not full-time snacks issues. So do you think he can be a minibar? Do you think he can be? Don't think there's a minibar? That would be great. Get my drink on. Or as long as it's organic, I'm sure there's organic alcohol. Do you think they got mimosas down there? You think Aaron was sipping on some OJ and some organic orange juice? Yeah, right. So I think that would count, don't you? I'm just stuck on this. You don't get cookies and ice cream all day. Amy is not a fan. Do they open the door to slide your trail elegant prison? Like, how's this for, Chris? Yeah, it's not like that. It's just kind of he just kind of comes down. What do you know how they feed you in prison? I did some time. You know, the big prison reference, like right off the bat. Are you guys going to go? I'm going to do it. Thank you. You want to go? I'm going to go do it. All right. I should go do it. I have a lot of you couldn't go 20 minutes without talking to someone. I couldn't go 20 minutes without a snack. Amy, somebody go get her some ice cream. I mean, she just looks faint. What is this going to say? Candy in the green room? Yeah, we do. By the way, this hole, this place, this sky retreat. This is nicer than most apartments in New York. I'm telling you. You're absolutely right. It's bigger than most apartments. It's as big as many hotel rooms. Yeah. By the way, I've stayed in some pretty small hotel rooms. And I think there was no mini burn Clemson either. So my Clemson story as I was doing a game with Gary Thorne and ABC and he walks in and he goes, this is not my kind of hotel. 'cause he kept in, thank you very much. And he said, hey kid, should we meet downstairs for a bottle of red? And he's like, I don't think there's any red here, ha, so he was in his room all night. I laid out towels from my bed to the bathroom and back. And I went from the bed on the towel, 'cause you didn't want to walk on the towel inside the tub. Oh, I got you. And I think myself. This is network television. It was glamorous. We're not in Kansas anymore. No, so maybe this retreat is like a three and a half seasons compared to that Clemson hotel. That was about a quarter of a season. Yeah, I think it might even be maybe more like four seasons. Do you think? Yeah, I think. Should we go, I don't think so. Let's go somewhere very bougie instead any cheese and drink wine. I can't say that this is my kind of cup of tea. Can we just talk a second ago? We were talking about it in the break about your experience with the push rule yourself. You take us back a little memory lane. Raiders at chiefs were the road team. I'm sitting upstairs where the staff for the visiting route, the visiting team sat, ownership, staff, were upstairs. Going from left to right on the field in front of us were inside the 15, maybe inside the ten, and then we have another play, and our back has the ball, and our offensive line, and other players, push him into the end zone, which at the time absolutely against the rules. And I'm up there looking around at the official, you know, their league has an observer in the box, and I'm looking at the officials, Al's there. Other people are there, and I'm thinking, don't call this, don't call this don't call this don't call us. Didn't call the penalty. By the way, statute of limitations over we won the game. They can't go back. They can't take it back. We won the game because we pushed our back into the enzyme. So what do you think about this proposed rule change now? You know, I like that you could push. You know, I like what Nick Siri said. It's part of a game. Why not, what's wrong with pushing someone into the end zone? I can't remember as a lifelong fan of the league, not seeing that. And sometimes I feel like people want to start screwing with things like I don't like this whole pitch clock thing for baseball. Like leave it alone. I would equate it to that. I mean, why are you changing simple rules of the game? I understand the eagles are employing getting incredibly well. But they're not pulling their pushing. We watch Tom Brady, I'm sorry. We haven't really talked about this. Because you know I am from New England and don't go anywhere at the seat belt will come out in the sun. I'll let you in, but you know, sometimes I feel like they're tinkering just to tinker, isn't that part of the game now? Well, I do like the push rule because why tell me what is un football about that? And I know people will be screaming, oh, you know, it's un football, it's un football. Why shouldn't it be part of the game if your team's better at pushing a back than the other team is at stopping you from pushing the back and maybe I'm biased because we want to gain by pushing the back into the end zone, but I like the push roll. Amy Trask here on the rich eisen show, Susie Schuster and for rich eyes. And if you can't tell by now, then I don't know what to do. I mean, I can only introduce myself so many times, but Christopher, can I throw it over to you for what's more like me? What's more likely? Are you ready? Hit it. What?

"At bifurcating, if you will, that which is going on within an organization and it's impact if any on the field. And other organizations which are not as good as that. You have to be able to address both. You have to be able to turn to your head coach and your general manager and say, you know, keep the focus on the field when it comes to the players and the coaches. And you've got to be able to turn to others in your organization and empower them to do their job in the manner that's least likely to impact on children. And I think they'll be able to accomplish that. Talking about the latest with the Raiders, Sandra Douglas Morgan, and I'm going to brag. When I was raised, now you got a dad that was in World War II. You got a mom that was in World War II. You got two aunts that were in that same Army Corps. There was no way I was going to step out of line and think, well, a woman missed and women, I think it comes down to how you were raised, sorry. You should Brad. That's tremendous. And please thank them if they are still with you, please thank them for me. And if they are no longer still with you, no longer still with us, I thank them in essential. Look, the example I always use is Apollo 13. There's a scene where the Ed Harris character gets everyone at NASA. Who worked on Apollo 13 or is capable of working on Apollo 13 around a table. And this is when the call came in that it was a problem with Apollo 13. And he gets everyone around a table and he dumps on the table, a bucket of bolts and nuts and he says to them, these are the only pieces and parts they have with them on Apollo 13. Using only these pieces and parts. And of course, I'm paraphrasing. He said it more eloquently. But using only these pieces and parts find a way to get those men home alive. Do you think anyone on Apollo 13 cared one bit? Who was seated around that table, whether they were men or women? Do you think they cared about their race their ethnicity, their religion, their gender, all they cared about was that they got home alive. "A player decides to go to a really nice restaurant, which happens to be in the lobby of a casino, which many, many nice restaurants in Las Vegas are. Yes. So the player is walking through that casino on his way to dinner and a fan stops him and says, hey, can I grab a picture with you? And the player does what yo had hoped the player would do and says, of course. And stops and poses for a picture with the fan. So someone takes that picture and unbeknownst to the player behind him in the backdrop, is a big sign that says sports betting lounge. The player has done absolutely nothing wrong. The player has done everything right, taking time out of his night off to pose for a picture with a fan, unbeknownst to him there's a sports betting signage in the background. Well, now it's Sunday. And that player fumbles the ball at a key moment or misses a tackle or misses a block or blows a coverage at a key moment. Is someone going to associate that picture and draw the wrong conclusion? It would be unfair to do so. It would be wrong to do so, but it may happen. My point is this, even if no one with a team in Las Vegas does anything wrong, the league has to avoid impropriety and appearance of impropriety and that's going to be a challenge. Amy Trask, you know all the titles, we're just going to say Wonder Woman. Thank you. We appreciate it. Thank you for having me. My treat, my treat. It's really a pleasure to join you. But we could have talked to Amy for another 6 hours. I know, seriously, I really like the way that she led us into how an NFL executive or in her case a former NFL executive would think about things. Like the question on professional athletes who play in Las Vegas and the perception that there might be improprieties between what they do for their day job and obviously the gaming and gambling that's going on there. If they happen to be in a casino and they happen to take a picture with a fan and there happens to be a lounge behind that says sports betting lounge and they happen to play in the game that weekend and something happens, there's gonna be lots of commentary on social media trying to connect the dots between two disparate events. I never thought about what she said setting up the situation until she said it. Yeah. And I'm like, oh, you know what? That could happen. And that's what these guys have to think about. Oh, these guys and these women have to think about as executives in a way that you and I as spectators don't at all. And the players will have to start thinking this way as well too. And I just thought it was really interesting a window into what they have to think through. I think a guy and I think of Aaron judge, you talk about just a beautiful ambassador for the game. Obviously baseball, Aaron judge, and he'll go up to a fan. And a fan will come up to him. And how do you do? And he'll take a picture. And I wonder what if people would just take a moment to think it through. There's going to be a lot of stuff that's going on in the background. How many times have I taken a picture with somebody? And then look in the background. And then there's a bird. So with bunny ears? Yeah, something with bunny ears is hopping on through. It happens. And they're not promoting anything. They're being good ambassadors to the game. I guess that's my biggest point. Yeah, but people will, I don't know, with things like betting on NFL games and people losing money, you could take that in any kind of direction and draw all kinds of incorrect conclusions or out there conclusions if you wanted to. I know and people are going to say, well, what about Calvin Ridley? It's like, I get it. I understand. But. The falcons wide receiver? Yes, right. And I understand people bringing that up, but listen, people are not, I guess I just ask people to have faith in humanity. That's the bottom line of what I'm trying to say. It's a basic request, but it seems like it's really extended requests in 2022. I don't know

"Gotta figure out how to do it as well as they are right right. I interviewed nancy on the show. She was just unbelievable. She's yeah she was so much. We we had a blast just talking about her career and and growing up in the bronx and play play basketball and taking the train like all. These things was just amazing to hear her story. It is it. Is it such as i've listened to her you know. She told me those stories as well. She is a success at everything she does except for one saying she has not been able to get me to be able to spin that basketball on my finger. I that i'm terrible at a two. I could never do that. Why is that. What do you think we're not good at the. I don't know. I don't know but you know what you don't need your your athletic trellis. You don't need to spend that basketball. But i couldn't get it done you some. You always want to do like just sit. There were kids. That could just do it. Just and i never could. I don't know why you know you can do a lot of things you think you can do. A lot of things but then something you think is simple like that. You just don't know it's crazy. So tell me tell her fans really quick. What what do you do. As chairman of the board of the big three now wouldn't look thoroughly we. I wear a startup entity. As i said we had three seasons under our belt. We were just hitting our stride so to speak with the wind in our sails. Strong wind shut down for the pandemic right. Now it's all hands on deck Trying to see if we can build back from coming out of this pandemic so we're right in the middle of the season and look were were dealing with pandemic issues like other sports. Are we see it in the nfl. We see players testing and having to sit. We see it in the nfl. We see it in baseball. So we're dealing with all of the economic struggles of coming out of a pandemic as well as pandemic related issues. So it's all hands on deck whether it's cube or jeff or clyde or our new. Ceo chris hannon or any of us on the board. We're all doing anything we can to fight back out of the pandemic and look. I have thought that cube was a Since the day. Nwea burst on the scene. I have recognized what a musical genius he is and how just so so so talented. I'll say it again. Musical genius will let me tell you something. He is every bit as phenomenal at business as he is at music and he's an even better human being so watching him work in jefferson and clyde work we all do everything we can to try to fight back from the pandemic. You're right with everyone else. I mean i. I have a good friend. Who is a chef. He lost his job during the open up. A new place now little bagel place. I've been helping him. Just because i know the struggle that they're all gone through and you know i can't wait to see the big three comeback and with you leading it. I know it's definitely gonna get back on top so tell me a little bit about the book you wrote but before we have to go here well first of all. You're very kind to say that. I'm leading it. That's very generous. Cuban jeff and clyde are leading it. I'm just happy to be part of the team. I did write a book. Truss guarantee they trust. We all thank you. We all do. Trust one another and that. That's very nice of you to note. And i do believe that i did write a book. I've always loved to write a period in my life. Where i thought. Maybe i'd be a journalist. Or maybe i'd write spy novels. I never did either of those things. But i did. Enjoy writing a book about your ears with the raiders. It's reflections it's fun stories. it's My mistakes that i made and a lot of just various thoughts and it was a lot of fun to write that in the moment. I have a minute to breathe. I'm going to write a book. Oh wow what. It's going to involve not involve rescue dogs. I can almost. I could feel it. I'm not telling but it will involve animals as hall. I love it. I love it my I'm still waiting for my son to his book. we had a bulldog used to still all the ornaments off our christmas tree. And he's like we should read a book called. So i said well mama all right. He goes no no. It's my story dead. You're not right in. So yeah i'm still waiting for the right. We'll see it's awesome. Yeah so it's great. I understand it so we get to catch you on. Cbs sports this fall. And hopefully we get to catch you in the big three there. So tell our fans how they can find. You can check you out on social media. My social media platform twitter you know when. I joined. cbs sports pr. People said to me. Would you like to go on twitter. And i said no. No no no. I am never doing that. Never never never never. I am not doing that. That is so not me. I'm never doing it then. I joined twitter. And i'm now fairly convinced. They must've invented twitter for me. And of course i'm seizing when i say that but i know but you really good like you. You respond to really good at it. I love my twitter village. We exchanged thoughts a reasoned and reasonable manner and when we disagree with one another we do so agreeably will tell you gusts that in the years. I've been on twitter. I can count on two hands. The number of times someone has been nasty or what all sound like a three year old. I'm like you're being mean but someone has been nastier mean and i'll respond. I'll say you know what fair enough you want to disagree with me disagree with me but you don't need to be mean you don't need to disagree so disagreeably and all but two or three times. I've gotten an immediate response saying you know what you're right. We can disagree and we don't need to be disagreeable about it. So here's to disagreeing agreeably my twitter village. That's how we do it. It's at amy. Trask and i love twitter. I'm now when. I say this tongue in cheek but pretty sure they invented it for me. Gus should the big three ever be not location in a venue near you. You are invited to be our guest though. I would love that. I would love that. And i see that What about the big three. I know they have some merch. If we could ever help you guys in promoted on the show. We'd love to do that. That would be wonderful. Well thank you very much. I will make sure to get you a hat. I love that. Yeah my head's getting bigger as i get older. I don't know why that is. I just because i like ben and jerry's now don't have to worry about whether running away from all that are chasing me. Yeah no that's great. So i appreciate it so i wanna thank you so much for being on with gus and if you ever see your buddy ice cube in the home a i got a guy that would love to have you on his podcast. "At. It's not inconsistent to say unhappy for the fans were happy and i'm sad for the fans. Were sad. I mean the players have to be the visiting players to be so upset because there is nothing better than playing at the raiders in coming out before you got on the bus and grab her. That was never that place. Oh my gosh was at the best. I remember trade johnson. We had alignment. He was like three fifty grabbed three of them. Legal three in the gone like now. There's no linemen that couldn't eat three of them. But you know you mentioned visiting the visiting team's one paradigm shift. The organization is going to have to prepare for as fans are now allowed in the building because of course last year in the pandemic they were not in oakland. As you know. That stadium was full. With what ninety seven. Eight percent were raiders. Fans through will certainly be a lot of raider fans in vegas as well of course of course of course but the team and the players are going to have to get ready meaning the organization and the players on the team are going to have to get ready for a lot more fans of the visiting team because if you are fans of team that is playing on the raiders on the road and you can go to only one road game. You're vague right. We vegas vacation. you're going to vegas. Well lets you play for the dolphins. Because when i played with the dolphins it was all jets fans knew it was new england fans because all the snowbirds came today. Yeah that's how it was. I get you so. So you're with the raiders for a long time and you just learned all these skills you become an executive in a win was a point where you said okay of i. Kind of live. My time with the raiders. I'm gonna move on. It was after al passed away and deciding to leave was the hardest decision i've made in my life. Which by the way his I recognize that. That's allowed statement about how lucky i have been in life. But i made a commitment to al about handling the transition of his estate and and making sure there was a seamless transition. Because there's a lot associated with that pursuant to league rules and you know after he passed away got through that season and then i started What i can only describe as my hamlet to be or not. It was to stay or not to stay and ultimately made the decision to leave and it was scary scary scary but it was the right decision and you always wonder when you make a decision like that. Am i going to regret it. And i don't regret it. It was the right decision for me. Yeah that that transition is hard. You've been doing the same thing for so long. That was like me. I played football for twenty five years straight right through high school college. Fifteen years in the pros. And then like i was done and it's like what do i do next. So what was that like when you when you finally. I told my husband. I was very self aware that i was not going to be able to think about what was next until i left so i said to my husband. Look i can't even think about what i wanna do next until i just fired if i'm leaving or not. And he said great fine. And i woke up the morning after i gave notice and i said i'm a blight on humanity. I have nothing to do and you know very very shortly thereafter. Cbs sports contacted me. And i made a very very difficult decision. I'm not on camera with you. Because i hate being on camera. That's why you were using a sock puppet for me. But i decided to join cbs sports. I'm thrilled that i did. And i i am still with. Cbs sports. And i love being part of the cbs sports team. And a number of years later Ice cube in his business partner. Jeff continents contacted me about joining them in their big three endeavor. And i am the chairman of the board of the big three and we are in the midst of a very very very tough rebound after the pandemic we had three seasons under our belt and we just had the wind was at our back and like so many businesses we had to shut down for the pandemic and now we are working to come back from that. Who's working with ice cube in that that group in the big three. Who was that his idea. Whose idea was that to develop at league. I is cube and his longtime business partner. Jeff quantites it's their vision. It's their dream. What what what a way you know what. So you have this vision. I know he's ice cube. I mean we all know we all we all. I mean what a story but to say like. Hey i'm just going to. He has to know somebody to call. Nba old nba players. Say hey you wanna complain the big three and you know let's make this thing a league and have some fun That had to be like a wonder how that worked. It was pretty pretty strange. And and now. How do you guys get the players to come and be a part of a big three team. It's not a question of us having to get them to come. They are eager to join us. They see how committed a qb. Jeff and commissioner clyde drexler art this league and you know the players we have. We have hall of fame coaches. And we've got dr j. charles. Oakley and george gervin and rick. Mahorn nancy lieberman and lisa leslie. Attracting players is not an issue. Not an issue. I'd love it. Does he just walk around the name. Texas the glide on it you know i remember back to fi- slamma jamma. Oh my gosh. Yeah i mean they were incredible. Yeah and it's as i said it was. It was cubes vision. It was jeff's vision and it's really an honor to help work with them and see this vision. Come to life and look. The league is doing a lot of terrific things. Where the only league where. Women are head coaches right along. Side men When when clot clyde was a head coach his first year. And then we We made him into commissioner so we needed to replace him. And i was sitting with cuban. Jeff clyde and i said how about nancy lieberman not one of them battle die. We hired nancy case. She came out won the championship. Her first year was voted coach of the year by all players and the other coaches the next year. Cuban jeff decided to expand the league. We added lisa lesley as a head coach. She came out won the championship. Preferred year was voted coach of the year her first year and i remember. I don't remember. I think george gervin. Someone said whatever they're doing we.

Well not only is it that we're getting back to business. We're getting back to business in a few days. We are going to be in las vegas starting on the tenth and as you noted for many of our weeks of the season this year we are a relatively new business. Three seasons done. The wind was strongly at our back and then like so many businesses. We shut down for a season for a year for the pandemic. So we are thrilled to be getting back to business and looking to not only recapture that wind but capture even more wind. How daunting task was it to step back last year when sports were all but cancelled. Especially somebody like yourself. Who is so very involved from everything that you do is. Cbs and to the big three. And everything else that you've done between well. It was disappointing but look certainly as is said a first world problem we you know it was as disappointing to shutdown not ideal to shut down. But you know there's people without homes in which to live without food on their table and with very very life threatening on problem so yes it was a problem. Noli warrant happy about it..

"It's almost the Super Bowl. It takes me a while. Just I'll admit it. I get annoyed by all the pregame conversation s O. We have We haven't given you any of the media sound from Patrick Mahomes, 80 read Tom Brady and Bruce Arians over the last 24 to 48 hours because there's There's only so much they can say. I'm not worried that the chief's barber tested positive for Cove it, but I feel bad for the player and I don't know exactly who it was. I don't remember now. But the player who was in the middle of getting his hair cut and the barber all of a sudden got pulled off the jobs. I hope someone finished the poor guy's hair. I could certainly understand why you'd want to have a fresh haircut. Going into a big event like the Super Bowl. That's what we as females to. We need to have a fresh haircut, Some new highlights or just a spruce up a blowout to not really a blowout kind of a person, but my Grammy loves to get the blowout. So whatever it is, you want to look your best for one of the biggest stages of your entire career. You never know when you'll get back here. So I understand. I hope they bring in a new barber for the Chiefs before they jet off to Tampa coming up on Saturday, But we're in the middle of our Super Bowl blitz. As I say. I'm starting to feel the spirit just a little bit. I think as we go through some of our interviews And as I was talking to the likes of Tyrone Poole, former Super Bowl champion with the Patriots, though his career took him to six different teams in the NFL Lawrence Guy who's a free agent, but just spent this past season, his fourth with the Patriots. He's got a really interesting story to tell. Not only is he really big into charity work, and these last 11 months It's been needed more than ever. But He's the only current New England patriot. I've talked to this season. We we've heard from a grumpy bill. Bella, check on. We've certainly have heard the Expert analysis of why Bella check is no longer a good coach or who won the divorce, so to speak, but from inside the locker room, waiting to hear what Lawrence had to say about going through this season with the Patriots, and why it was all worth it. So he's a fantastic conversation and really enjoyed catching up with him. And he was very open about how challenging this season was as a member of the Pats. But as I say he's a free agent. And so his future right now is in doubt. So weirdly enough. We end up with a pair of Super Bowl champions, both of them having won their rings with the Patriots. But as they say, Tyrone Poole play for a bunch of different organizations, and he's He is the walking breathing answer to about a half dozen trivia questions For those of you who love your football trivia. Your sports trivia. That's Tyrone. If you remember his playing career great, but he's got some pretty cool nerd alerts attached to his playing career and and even going back to his college days. Scott Hanson of the NFL network s o. He is the face and Voice of Red Zone Channel, And I know we talked to Andrew Siciliano, who does the same role or similar role with direct TV. Scott is actually heading to Tampa, so he's one of the few very few members of the media are allowed to be in Tampa. The number I heard was 25 total media people allowed to be at the Super Bowl. Do you know Normally it's 2500. If not more than that, 25 that seems Like a very teeny tiny number. Maybe it's changed, but from the NFL network, which of course, is an NFL entity it's partially owned by the league. There are only a handful of people going and Scott is able to be there in Tampa and so He not only does he have a unique perspective, but he's got more energy than Entire football team put together as those Tyrone Poole. Actually, these two guys, I was trying to suck down coffee in the afternoon catching up with them because we're doing our Super Bowl virtual radio row interviews during the afternoon like we would if we were on site in Tampa and gosh, they could've run circles around me Boomer a science and will join us live in studio coming up in the final hour of the show. So we are just next door from the New York studios that new York affiliate. W F A A. And I know a lot of you Listen from our New York market when you have the opportunity or you check us out on serious XM and listen via radio dot com when our show is not carried, so Boomer is here in the same building with us every morning getting ready for his morning show on W F A N and we're gonna We're gonna make it working here. This will be my first time with a live guest in studio as opposed to a dead get that would be really morbid, a guest in Studio City. I returned to CBS Sports Radio headquarters in July. Haven't seen my boss. My boss has not been back here. There are very few of the producers and production staff that I ever come in contact with, even if they are working on site. Because we're all spread out in terms of our shows and our time slots. I haven't seen anybody except a few of the people who work with the New York affiliate. And so this will be fun to have Boomer and studio Now we, of course, have to make sure that we are more than 6. Ft. Apart s so I'm gonna move. I'll try not to bump any microphones and make a bunch of noise or trip on a cord. You know me? I'm a creature of habit. But I'm gonna move over to the other side of our large studio and make sure that I do not jeopardize boomers trip to Tampa, though I don't have the virus, so that would be impossible to do. Maybe we'll snap a photo or his boomers is hanging out with us here in studio. We'll see if we get a picture to share with you so you can kind of see what it's like inside. CBS Sports Radio studios. So that'll be fun. Boomer does a Super Bowl Week interview with us every year, but because he's still here and not in Tampa, and we're not in Tampa, either. It's it's kind of funny that will do it in person. Normally, he's on the phone with us getting ready for his show. And whatever the side of the Super Bowl happens to be, so this will be cool that he's in studio. And then coming up in a mere 10 minutes. The great Amy Trask and why do we start with this interview with Amy? Well, for a few reasons, Number one. She's one of my favorite people in the entire football industry number two. We're capping national girls and women in sports Day. And so Amy Trask, who normally operates out of California, you may or may not know that, but she's a She's a Cali girl. To be sure, she's actually in New York City because of her her responsibilities with CBS Sports Network and everything else, and so we managed to were sadly not gonna be able to get together. But we've managed to figure this out What we can do an interview, and she she's not Much into the snow. I know that to be sure from our conversations, but I feel like it's perfect that were talking to her on our show on national girls and women in Sports Day. Every now and then I get a female guest of female caller. But very often the only female in the room. There aren't any other females at CBS Sports Radio..

"I wanted to ask you when jon gruden came aboard. Obviously you know this man. Lives breeze football. He's so enthusiastic about what he does. But i wanted to. Just get your take on what it was like to see him. Step into that position. One of which is said that was one of the first Kind of the decisions that you've got to sit in with with al. As far as a head coach went. John brought an energy with him a passion. You know i'll use. I love alliteration. So i'll go with zip and zest saying that. We were missing at that time. We needed that. You know you. You know what you've covered the new cover the team. You've covered the team. You still cover the team. You know what that look is that he gets on his face and that look is not simply a look. It's it's a demeanor and we needed that at the time. Well i wanted to ask a lot about al davis because obviously you had a relationship with him you got to see these inner workings behind the scenes on everything that went on with this team and espn is going to put out a special a thirty for thirty called al davis versus the nfl. And that's coming out february four th just a few days before the super bowl which also covering cvs. And i i wanted to your take here on. Alverson is the nfl. We know about the battles with pete. Rozelle how everything. He went through to be able to move the team. And now it's almost I don't wanna say a staple with different franchises but you you see more and more. It's more commonly accepted that a team might for instance go from san diego to l. a. or saint louis back to la or you're you're saying the moves from different teams and in some senses was not just a of how he hired in diversity that he brought into this league but also because he was known for being that maverick he was known for being the guy that was trying to set a precedent so that teams could do these types of things. So what did you think about al versus the nfl and his battles with roselle to get what he wanted done. While you're absolutely right. He was Someone who is willing to stand up for the courage of his convictions whether they were popular or not One every one else in that league honors meeting disagreed with him and disagreed with him vehemently. He stood up for what he believed. And when you were referencing the subsequent t moves lock. The the rams moved from la to saint louis and then back to la. You know there was another movie that came to mind for me..

KNBR Tonight with Drew Hoffar & Kevin Frandsen
Cleveland PD Launching Internal Investigation into Handling of Kareem Hunt Case
"But I just feel like it's so shady, it's so shady how TMZ can get this whole thing. The NFL can't the chiefs can't but TMZ pays up. It's. I wanna know. Like on to keep it quiet at the beginning did Kareem hunt half to pay right? And then from there. Did you know TMZ just triple what he paid the Cleveland police? I I wanna know how deep this goes to me. It's a little fishy. Ira fishing, and Amy Trask was on with with fits of Brooks today. And I it's part of what I've been saying on this whole time is do you do you hire? But she said it's kind of hard. Dot com on the podcast, great stuff. But she she was saying to you hire TMZ. Do you hire some type of thing like that? In have resources to go and pay for those. Videos for your investigations, I but see that's the thing is man you want to know. So many things because look you're investigating. You're you're paying up, and I feel like TMZ would end up, you know, almost like extortion. Yes. Yeah. Eight they know exactly how much the NFL's worth information is a commodity for any in especially valuable information. And at the end of the day, what the NFL needs to know is what really happened. And however, look the NFL their financial resources pretty limitless. There is some limit. But to obtain a copy of a video, look, I think they can probably find, you know, between the owners, and whoever the hell is going to be in charge of of facilitating that I think that they can come up with a number of the the bottom line is they need to know what happened in the fact that there was a video of this incident and never mind. How dumb Kareem hunt was for doing something like that knowing that it was all being recorded. But that aside knowing that there is a video available since February and Kareem hunt. Hunt felt empowered enough embolden enough to light his team. He had to have known that. They were having a hard time getting the video or didn't have access to it. I mean, they didn't see the video because if you see the video, you know, right away away like kicked out. I wonder as guard went down a little bit each week. Yeah. Good. Yeah. I'm good. Hanging over his head. Could you imagine knowing that your career your NFL career is just hanging in the balance and the day that the other shoe drops, you're toast? And I mean, it's bad enough that this happened know in any way, shape or form the fact that it happened just a couple of days after Ruben foster that to me is kind of fishy to now all the sudden and we're getting near playoff time in the chiefs are potentially in a position to win the Super Bowl. There was a lot of stuff going on behind the scenes man, this thing just stinks all high. Hell no, it just sucks, and, you know, starting with the domestic violence to the cover up to the, you know, the distribution of the video to the new police cars at the Cleveland police officers are driving and all that stuff. It's it's it's all shady shady. So following an internal review. It was determined that in February a member of the Cleveland division of police provided a report you'll appreciate you trying to do some serious here. You don't mind felt house? Doing it for felony baby. All right now. So I'll start over following an internal review is determined that in February a member of the Cleveland police provided a copy of that police report, including the assault incident at the nine which was the hotel to the National Football League. And of course, they didn't go through the official publics public records request process. Now, if you go through that process, officially then it's known that the NFL is petitioning to get that information. Because I I gotta think look the police reports one thing like if you know, there's video of it. I don't need the police report. And that's the other thing that just begs the question. Okay. There's this video like, yeah. The charges were dropped. Why why were the charges dropped? They don't do anything for misdemeanor. It wasn't. It was not a felon. It was not charges a felony. You should have been. No, okay. Yeah. No. I mean any of that stuff? Should right? No doubt. Whether or not whatever it should be a felony. But it was filed under as a misdemeanor, which they don't do stuff you're going, wait what? Yeah. That's just shadiest number one. The fact that I don't care how hard he kicked. Her didn't kick her. You know what I mean? Like that was a felony the moment that right? She's dazed. She's she's laying on the ground days has has just gotten to the point where she sitting up. She's not even standing it. And he tried to kick her in the face. I mean, whether you connected or not I mean, thank God. He didn't he barely grazed or but not the point. You know, in the fact that she was on the ground is because you knock that dude indoor. And I know that I, you know, I don't know that he did that on purpose. But I guarantee you he didn't care if she got knocked down. Clearly, he was intent on doing her harm, hence the shove and then later kicking her. So let me ask you this this Kareem hunt play in the NFL again. Yes. Yeah. I think so too. I think he's young enough. Yeah. That's why Ray rice didn't play again because he was done. He was already at the end of his career. Well, yeah. And hit what he did on video, right? I feel like a complete ass for even having compare that. You're right though. It's true world. We all we all think the same. But it wasn't as bad. It wasn't even though it is it wasn't what the wasn't as graphic as the one punch layout. Right. And even if you go on the Joe mixing stuff, right? And the other part of it too. Is that was his significant other now again, there's no excuse for this but Kareem hunt, and this gal they weren't like romantically involved. Okay there. There was a disagreement. You know, apparently tossed around my point is the Ray rice stuff. It's almost even more shocking because this is supposed to be somebody that you love and care about still married, right? That's what I'm saying. You're in a partnership to protect the whereas opposed to somebody just being a complete stranger that you had a disagreement with what you can. I think I think there's got to be a lot of answers. A lot of questions answered by Kareem hunt and not verbally by actions right in how. Have you address certain things? How have you gone about counseling? How you know if he's out all next year, then good for him. Yeah. Because then it maybe his message is being passed. You know, you know from from team to team. I just see. He's too young and talented and we've discussed talent over all this crap. Sure. I think it's going to end up being that he's gonna play and the other part of it too is I thought that the Lisa Saulters sit down that was way too soon for me. It was like it was just so, but it's so soon it's so perfect for Lisa Saulters to get it all, of course. But even though they made they went out of their way to say, you heard her in the interview say you requested this interview. So that was Kareem hunt reaching out to them saying how I wanna get a message out. And I felt like it was total damage control one. Oh one. He's just trying to me. Then who was it? Right. Yeah. That's see. That's the thing. Like, no. It's not you. It was you you can say that was out of character for me. That's not a representation of who. I am. But no, my man, there's a connect there because that was you, and that's why you're not employed by the Kansas City Chiefs anymore, and that but see that's the one thing that I feel very comfortable saying that is you that is your character. Under percent, you do that. That's your character. That is that is a part of it from the beginning. You have that in you there? Literally do not have that in me. I know that you're right me. Neither thankfully, but you're right. There's only there's there's the kind of people that will in the kind of people that won't. And so to say that that's not you now my man that is you and I just felt like right now. This was the time for Kareem hunt. Make your statement. Hey, the chiefs were right to do what they did. I was in the wrong. Okay. Cool like and then say, hey, I'm gonna make this right? I know it's going to take a long time. But I will make this right? I'm going to make some changes. If that's what we heard from Kareem hunt. And then we didn't hear from again for six months. I'm cool like, and then don't tell me show me show me the changes that you've made. Hey, I went to counseling I'm volunteering at a shelter. Whatever it is I'm a battered women's shelter. Whatever it is to show us. You understand the severity of it. And it's not all poor me. I lost my job in the NFL. It's poor victim of my heinous assault. And the fact that I don't have a job in the NFL is the right thing because I was way out of line. I felt like he was trying to do some like PR. Reparation campaign, and I just felt like it was so ill time. And when she asked him directly about what happened. He just basically iterative that he didn't matter. What happened? And it's like, no, dude. It absolutely matters. What happened? That's why we're all year right now. Ready for our society right now, they don't even six five. Oh, let's talk about Steph night. Not women beaters fellas. All right. You know what I'm saying? Yeah. Like that that right there alone. I it just says we're uncomfortable talking about it. But it needs to be talked about an address. Yeah. And to me the moment, you ignore it. There's so many things that you know, how can how can the NFL do better and get the message across in. And and try to help out. Why think it it obviously starts younger? And if I'm NFL, I'm
