"Now let's get back to the episode now next right down the things that you'd like to include in your evening routine so for me. An evening routine is really just a shutdown. And i learned this from high in company in terms of how to kind of shut down your day so for an evening routine for me it takes about twenty minutes and this is all it is basically. I'll decide what i'm going to start. Stop work that day. So let's say at six pm. So if i start work at six. Pm i then will then go through my email. Clean up anything. I can to try to inbox zero. I will look at all the things that i got done that day and what. I didn't get done in decide what. Where am i going to move the stuff. I didn't get done today. Where my going to move it to. And i also have started to reflect on why i didn't get it done. Am i trying to too many things in one day Is this unrealistic. So i kind of evaluate how my day went. It takes two minutes and then from there. I use a full focus planner highly recommended. And if you haven't yet looked at the coil. Full focused planner. They have one. That's like a notebook a coil notebook. I'm obsessed with it. So if you go to. Amy porterfield dot com forward slash. Full focus planner. I shut down today so if i were going to do this today at six o'clock i would plan out tomorrow all the meetings all the tasks and i always make sure that was ever in my full focus. Planner is in asana which is the digital tool. We use for all tasks. So i kind of do a double duty. Full focus planner amazon. I make sure they're they're matched up so to me. That just works. so that's all i'm really doing. I'm checking email checking slack. I'm checking asana planning for my day. It twenty to thirty minutes boom. I'm done but that means..

"To your core content and make adjustments which I'm actually going to talk about one big adjustment I made with my own core content so we'll get to that in step number five. All right. Let's dive in to step number one. Now, if you know me, you know I'm a pen and paper kind of girl. However, this is one area where I like to open up a Google doc and type out all of my ideas because then it's easier to go back and edit them. So is suggest you start typing out the main themes or focuses in your business? So here's some questions. What do you teach? What is the transformation you offer? What core steps does your audience have to take to achieve that transformation? What do you teach now? I suggest you lean heavily on any industry research you've done, and if you've done any ideal customer Avatar Work if you've done any course calls to validate your audience use that information as well. Here's a little hint ideal customer, Avatar. That's the content I've recently been reworking I'll get to that in step five. But basically, what I want you to do is think about anything you know about your. Audience what you've learned about them and then pull from your own knowledge, your skill, set your expertise. That's where you're starting here. Now, I mentioned course calls, which is basically where you start to learn even more about your audience. I didn't episode episode two eighty. You can get there by going to amy Porterfield DOT com forward slash two eighty or linked to it in the show notes but I did this episode with somebody who? Was Not yet a student of mine. Her name was Jamie troll and I did a course call live on my podcast. So you can hear how I interviewed her to learn more and more about what she needed, what she wanted in order to my own core content around how to create a digital course. Funny. Enough Jamie has become my star student. I. Mean She's crushing it and at the time of that recording she didn't. Even own my program Digital Course Academy. So it's it's kind of a fun episode to listen to. If now you know she's literally crushed more than two launches I. Think She's on to her third kind of call. Okay. Let's get back to step number one where you're going to identify these core themes. So to give you an example in my business I got clear on my overarching theme. So list building, digital course, creation, and six. Launching digital course using webinars from there. So I type out those categories and then I left space underneath each one of them to go back in break those overarching themes down into more bite size manageable pieces. So for example, some of my content broken down would include creating an irresistible lead magnet three profitable types of digital courses selecting a digital course topic the importance of live launches objections like I don't have time to create a digital course or the tech. Overwhelms me and the list could go on and on. These are all pieces of core content that helped me to support and educate my audience, and it helps them to cross over that invisible bridge because imagine if I created some core content around three profitable types of digital courses once they got clear on the type of course, they wanted to create. They'd be more willing and excited to join me on my Webinar all about how to create a.

"Of something. So we've come up with about five different reels we started we just started. We've only one out, and what we do is we go into reels and we look at everybody else's reels. Someone who hasn't one and we literally copy it. We put our own stuck to it. We put our own swing to it but if they're using a certain type of music that has a beat that you could point to different places on the screen, we use the same song and we put our own stuff do it. That's where I think copying somebody else is not a big deal. It's all everyone's copying each other in my opinion with reels and Tiktok, and it's actually celebrated out in I actually. This is creativity. Nobody owns a night an idea. The fact that I had treated on talk it was how to turn your followers into customers or how you know like, and we went to a five step series and we had two characters on tiktok talking back to each other. I, probably had an people sent it to me they probably twenty people had said I need one for my business and then I go to their to talk and watch it and I loved it I thought it. was absolutely powerful amazing, and Stuart. So that's why you will see on Instagram and Tiktok people can actually insert audience. So just imagine you hear a clip of amy on her podcast and she says something that moves you something maybe perhaps it says like get out of your own way you are enough time has come. They can get that audio clip inserted into Tiktok and they can move their lips as if they themselves are saying if that is not the ultimate rip off, you've ever heard. No it is it's creative and it's awesome and people can link back to original talks as the source of inspiration. I just think it's really smart, and now we're creating synergistic creativity that drives our business forward all of that in all the ways So many good ideas an permission to copy other people in a way that it's totally okay. How good is that? Yeah, absolutely. Jazzy starry night, which is the name I think she should give herself but she won't take you so so much for being here I, love you to the moon and back, and this has been a value packed episodes. So thank you so much for your time. Are I love your guts? Thanks. See you soon. Bye Girl. So there you have it isn't you so much fun. I literally could talk to jasmine for hours and hours and hours anything about business in life and everything in between. So hopefully, you enjoyed this episode as much as I have and I'm actually recording this closing. After I interviewed Jasmine and really one day later. So within twenty four hours of doing this interview jasmine I learned a trick. So for all of you that have in g business account like I do I have a business account so I can track all the analytics all the likes, all the growth, all of that, and it helps me to easily run instagram ads. So if you also have a business account, you might have noticed and we mentioned this in the interview that you can't get music in your reels. And so at the time of this recording, so this is going to go live probably a month or so from now. But at the time of this recording I found this really cool worker. And in the show notes Amy Porterfield Dot com forward slash three, three seven my friend Brits Uva is going to show you an invisible button that gives you music on I. G reels for business accounts. I did say invisible button. How Weird is that? Right now I hope this changed by the time this goes live, but I'm going to link to Brit Sivas instagram real where she shows you the invisible button on business accounts To Get music, my mind was blown. So there are so many great things including Jasmine's step by step instagram reels tutorial. Am A link to her masterclass in the show notes. So I think this is the most action packed show notes. I've ever done amy Porterfield dot com forward slash three, three seven, go check it out. All right. I hope you have a wonderful day. I'll see same time same place next week. Bye for now..

"Would be helpful to you. Let me know I'm afraid. But I just want you all to know in the show notes of this episode. I. Am going to link to what Jasmine just talked about. So any PORTERFIELD DOT COM ford slash three, three seven, I will link to that exact video that jasmine just said because I want you see this inaction because it is very visual you do your best now but we're gonNA link to that video. Okay. So if we're looking at the real Page. Or Green screen and we walk through them again we walk at and how to find okay. So when you are on your homepage, you open up instagram and there you're looking at your feed the feed is the thing you traditionally squirrel through right. So when you're on that page in the upper left hand corner, you're going to click on camera That is going to bring you to if you look at the bottom center of a of your screen, you will see a white circle and below the white circle, you will see a word that says story you're going to swipe to the right and that's going to bring up real CZ. Yes. So those of you looking at this right here. Yes. So you will see almost like those movie theater clapper's like the timing rate so what you're going to look On the left side of the screen, you're going to see a music symbol. That is where you can go and choose a song. If you don't WanNa talk and let's say you just want to point to something or you want to have a voiceover. What you're going to do is you're just going to pick. A. Song. I. Hired. By panic. Listened Real. Fast shots. If, you have an ID business account like I do. You will not see the music google it. You can look at alternatives it's complicated, but you don't automatically get the music in a business account. So we had to do this whole work around get into that. Now, most of you do not have a business account so keep going. Yes at the point here anybody who's listening who says, no I really need the music. What you could do is you can use a video app something like video shop and you could record a fifteen second video and add music to it, and then you could upload that fifteen second clip into reels and then you add the text to it. So there are there are work around essentially what we're doing so. Okay. So then right below the music symbol, you're going to see almost like a little play button and that is going to give you the opportunity to record something. It's as one x you're recording it in real time or you can record it in. which speeds it up or you can record it in slow motion. Then you below that, you'll see a little happy face and those are called affects. That is where you can find filters. That's where you can bring up. You'll see at the bottom has changed is if you have downloaded any other filters for your instagram stories, those are going to appear. So I always like to have a skin smoothing for worse you know every every girl wants clashes filter. So brighten it up a bit, and then what you can do is right below that you're going to see a timer and that timer will empower you to set the amount of time that you actually want to record a clip. It is automatically defaulted when you hit it to five seconds. So let's say just similar how I used that example. Or the Boutique Care in Newport beach, they set the timer to three seconds. So what you would do, you get your slider from the automatically set five seconds and then he would change it down to three seconds and you're going to click the blue button that says set timer. You will hit set timer and Ben. What you'll do is you can have it you can hand hold it or you could set it on a tripod because when you and this is this is how people who don't have Khloe will actually make. Set It on a tripod, and if you don't have a tripod, it's okay I don't either you can just use a stack of books that's going to be fine. John. WHO said his stack of books on a table you stand away from the table and what you'll do once the timer is set is you're going to click on that circular white button and what it's going to do some count you down you get three seconds and then you get to record your three seconds to get the three second jumpstart. Now, if you want to record the second three, four, five seconds, you're, GonNa, you're going to click the timer again. and. Then you're GONNA be able to set it now let's say I just like the TC WanNa, do another three seconds while I'm going to go into my timer and I'm going to set it now from the re seconds to six seconds, and then I'm going to follow the process again and say set timer I'm going to click on the timer then I have three seconds to run back to where I need to be the cameras I'm going to record record record or three seconds. It's automatically in this stop at three. Now let's just say Oh you know what? I didn't like that take you're going to click on the Arrow that is next to the center circle icon. We're GONNA Click back else. Watch that. And it plays it back you. Can you can delete that clip if you'd like hitting the trash can icon and then we'll ask you do you want to discard it? You Click the scarred. And then you click done. So I, just walked you through the basics. Want we just the basics you got to hear. Do you agree in this is what Cohen I found. You gotta just get in there and play with it and you can pick it up pretty quickly when you play around with it. Yes and everything and I know that it's probably not riveting podcast content. Let me talk to the white to button to the left the time a fastball word it's like the worst. Years. Melting however I'm telling you it is a four minute video tutorials. This is the I'm actually a very project tonight. Can I brag please right as right now to change tomorrow but as of right now, the video that we created for the tutorial is the only video that has multiple camera angles where showcasing niece speaking behind the scenes actually screen recording my camera so I'm walking. People through the three seconds of how to do it. You're seeing me talk to the camera and you're actually seeing me woo the camera. So we're seeing multiple perspectives of people have a very, very holistic three sixty approach to accommodate really probably because there's a bunch of people who said, I'd never do a story excuse me I would never do a real and then they watched the. Video and they're just like real machines. Okay. Good. That makes me happy again, like I gotTa have a tutorial, I need to see it and once I do I can figure it out and I think that's what all of you will find valuable. So again, I will link you to it Amy Porterfield dot com slash three, three seven. You'll get to see that video and then of. Course you all know we want you to Dm us and let us know if you did your first real like we want to see this right? Right? Azman. Yes and actually how about we play a game? Okay. So you're giving prizes away I really liked you prizes. Oh, girl go have don't have put you on the spot away all your courses, an Amazon gift card that's good. What do you want to do a perfect idea if you're just like, I'm really not sure to begin. We'll I walked you through the timer component correct and then there's video tutorial that also walks you through the timer component and I always believe that you should be creating reels that position you as a thought leader as somebody who is innovative, who's competent as somebody who's a professional in their industry because you could create a real. About how you make your coffee at, it could be popular, but that isn't necessarily showcase who you are as an entrepreneur. What if you were to talk about the multiple things you do in Your Business? So you can pick out let's say four characters. So the first three seconds you're gonNA say, Hi, I'm import and Iran Amy Puerto Ache and then the next three seconds you have like a hat and glasses on and then you. Add text on the creative director and the next hat you're holding your own or like a computer like I'm the marketer and then change you put on like a big coat and then like.

Let's get into today's episode Go. Hey their friend. So as if we didn't have enough ways to post on Instagram, there's a new feature that was rolled out in early August twenty twenty. It's called instagram reels and I'm sure you've probably already heard about it and you've seen people use it or maybe you've been dabbling with it and maybe you've thought was the deal with this. How is it different from instagram stories and should I be using it for my business to grow my audience or is it a waste of time? These are all great questions and when my team and I started to see audience members posted about it and my facebook groups we knew we had to shed some light on it to do that I went to my girl, my favorite Jasmine Star, and here's the thing about Jasmine the girl always knows what's going on I mean from business strategy to photography. Now to newborn babies I mean she's got the four one one for. Sure. Now, she's not only going to answer the questions that we've seen pop up in our facebook groups, but she's also going to share a sneak peek into what our content calendar looks like for instagram and how to come up with some content topic ideas for your instagram reels. So you actually know what to do and you're not like I have zero ideas because this feels really awkward to me so you're going to walk away. Knowing what next action items you need to take an order to start embracing instagram reels if you choose to do so after this road now, what I'll tell you is I'm actually recording this intro after I interviewed Jasmine sometimes I do that I interviewed the guest and then it helps me to decide what I want to tell you in the intro and the closing. Little podcast trick for you but you podcasters probably already do with that way. So with that, here's what I'll say. When I interview Jasmine, we went over some step by step by step, and if you can take out your phone get into instagram when she's talking or it's really not gonNA. Make much sense. So I just want you to be really interactive for a portion of this interview. I, think it will make more sense for you if you can. So just a tip for you also in the closing, I'm going to give you one extra tip. That, we talked about in the episode. So make sure you pay attention till the very end and the final thing I'll say is that at the time of this recording I just recorded jasmine I have been creating reels maybe you've seen them online sense and believe me it's not the most comfortable thing I've done but I am glad I'm experimenting and after this episode, I, hope you experiment as well. All right. Let's go ahead and dive in. Well look. We have on the show. Welcome back. Jasmine Star I am so happy to be here. You have no idea. It's like let's The Band is back. Lucky. Just let's just wherever you're drinking right now wherever you're drinking it sound like I've injuring one our ever you are ed whatever you're drinking. Cheers area..

"Yes. He's a lot of what it is. Revenue doesn't matter its profit that matter. So whenever I hear success stories not from you, but you know just in the grand scheme of people talking about success stories oftentimes of the only quote, the revenue numbers and my question in my head is always yeah. But how much did you really right like? You actually make and so that's a really good question and I'm glad you asked because I only spent two thousand dollars. FACEBOOK ADS had never run a facebook my life until six days before my first Webinar and I started kind tinkering around with it probably fairly poorly. But what helped so much though is in DC. There was a facebook ads training, but I didn't even know I needed and not ended up being so helpful for me to even figure out what to do but I spent two thousand dollars total in ads, and then when I added up all the tack and my Virtual Assistant, who Sarah she kept me. Sane. During all of this, you have to have Joel assessment you guys it was only my total with ads plus attacked and my va was four thousand. So I netted forty thousand, which was my goal might stretch wildly in this whole thing was to get to a forty thousand dollar profit. So forty thousand dollars in revenue forty, thousand, profit I think next time I'll probably do a little bit more in ads but. I kinda wanted to test it out a little bit before I went full force into it. I think I have a little bit of a better feel on how it works or sure I. Love when I hear my new students launching having a five figure launch and not putting tons of money toward their facebook ads like to me. I want you to definitely invest more in facebook ads in your second launch because. On your first one. Hundred percent that so important. So if you only spent two thousand dollars on ads, and then of course, you had your va in some some technology is well, what is your email lists look like? So I'm trying to remember exactly I think when I first launched in. December. It was that about twenty five hundred. Okay and then in my regular launch, I had gotten to about maybe thirty five hundred or so grain email lists yet, and then I had a facebook group as well which a lot of the people from my email from my facebook group but it had about four thousand a little over four thousand. At, the same time. So that's where most of my listeners have coming from. So this is what I love. She grew her list over time and also facebook group, which is such a great way to build engagement in community and find your tribe so that when she did launch, she had an audience to launch to, and so if you thousand people hundred email list plus a little bit of money with facebook ads and here she is having a forty four, thousand dollar launch her first. Time out. So I want all of you listening. Now if you plan to create a digital course, if you plan to launch down the road, the email is like right now do it now now I want you to know you do not have to have three thousand people on your email list to make forty four thousand dollars with the launch. There's people that have had a lot less than a lot more don't get stuck on the number I'd rather you focusing obsessed with action in this? Area and so that's why we're always like list building list building list building. In fact, I've got a free training on it amy, Porterfield DOT COM forward slash list building GonNa Watch that free training..

And I tell you that because I wouldn't have gotten here without habits and just showing up in a really certain specific way so when cove in nineteen happened in the world felt like it shook up. That could have very well been my excuse like yeah but the world is crazy right now. Those cupcakes a really really good. And so and I've seen it a lot. I'm not a big drinker. I mean love glass of wine and such but I would take a cupcake over a glass of wine any day but I've seen so many people gravitate toward every night. They're drinking and they're like I'm just going to have a cocktail or they're teasing about and I've heard you talk about it. The Quarantine Fifteen. Yeah I think it's a real thing survey thing and so in the first probably week that this happened I saw my habits slip and then what happened to me. It wasn't necessarily the skill going up it was. I felt depressed and I have a low level depression. I always have since I've been a little girl and it came back with a vengeance and so I realized holy cow. I can't get through this and show up for my family and my audience this way so I got back to my habits and my habits are once a week every Friday seven. Am I call my coach? We do an hour long training call and I just talk about the week where I struggled where had some wins and I get any coaching that I need and it's really about my mindset. We don't talk about the food but it's totally related to the food because we I will gravitate toward food with every emotion. So I gotta get my emotions in check. So that's one thing I do number two. I have morning rituals that I stick with and and I think everybody this goes back to productivity but religious self-care every morning. I do the morning the same way and I know what toddlers. This isn't always the case but do the best you can. Where for me? It's I wake up at five thirty every morning. I do journaling which I love to do all the time but I do things even if I don't feel like it because I know in the long run. It serves me so a journal every morning and a drink my coffee when I do it then I work out then I get dressed. I do get dressed so sugar and might be in Yoga Pants but I make an effort. I take a shower. I put on makeup. I look presentable for me. It makes me feel better. I don't do it for people on the Internet I do for me. I think. That part's important. So I make an effort and they get ready and go into my office and I start the day but I do that every single morning before my boys get up so I'm not interrupted but that helps me start on a really really good wet in a really good way so I move my body every day. I I make sure I stick to my habits every day and I plan my meals now to get into the food thing but I have a rule that I don't snack and that just serves me like no judgment for how anybody does so. Hopefully no one's going to judge me but I just don't snack but the reason for that is. I don't WanNA snack my way through this quarantine. Who's going to eat what I need to eat when I'm hungry. Stop when I'm satisfied and I just don't focus on that to make food that the thing that gets me through this so I plan all my meals super simple meals so like salad every single day for like the last year and a half. I have a salad at lunch and do the Middle Prep on Sunday. I'm good to go so just those simple things but the habits the rituals. That helped me more than anything. I don't WanNA snack my way through quarantine. That is epic right there and something you brought that up because I always stay like how do you WANNA show up after all? This is done like when this is over. Who who do you want to be when this is over and I sure don't want to be a shell of who I was when I came into? This actually WANNA be stronger in so I had to get really clear. I have a very clear vision of how I want to come out of this and I do believe this. Time is a blessing if you allow it to be so our GonNa take advantage of this in whatever that means for me. I think everyone can do the same absolutely. I've been just re energized in several things already in this episode and I'm just again just grateful to have you on so grateful for the intention and the detail that you put into your work when you click play on one hundred episodes or one of her. You go to one hundred posts like you're getting the layout. It is so detail on point is do this. Do this do this. And all the stories that you share of the people that are connected that are following in doing what you are advising them to do is epic. You're one of the best in the world that of of demonstrating showing what the results that people are getting. So I just wanted to thank you for that and I just WanNa say I appreciate you is such a great resource? Look thank you so much. I feel the same about you. Thanks so much for asking. Just Amy Porterfield DOT COM. You can find a bunch of free resources there. Seek maybe start your side Gig awesome. Thank you so much for hanging out with me today. Thank you awesome everybody. Thank you so much for tuning into this episode. I'm so grateful that I got to put this together. You know this was definitely out of my comfort zone and trying to put this together. I haven't done any remote interviews quite some time but I wanted to do something that was value to you. I know that there are a lot of question marks coming up in our minds right now. I know that a lot of things are in flux and I think just kind of leaning on what she said we want. Come out of this better than when we came into it and it's such a huge advantage. It's hitting us all differently at different levels some people. It's a big struggle points. Some people not as much know. It's not a big change in what their day to day routine looks like but I guarantee you. Our lives are going to be different. Going back to quote normal is not going to be really be thing. And we're we're at the opportunity to extract a lot of lessons from this experience and also to extract in creating cultivation new skills and to cultivate new relationships and truly understand what we have access to today. I said this before in past episodes but I I don't know if he really got this but we have mastered space and time. Amy Is hours away from me yet. We right now together at the exact same moment sharing a conversation. We didn't the time travel was this. Time was instantaneous. We've mastered this but it's just kind of jump past all of the small things that we need to look at right. We've master space and time but sometimes we haven't mastered the space and time of our household of simply getting up putting on clothes. Maybe that might be the thing to help to create that new habit. So what I what I really want to say. Is that right now? We have incredible tools but number one. We have to use them and number two. We really have to number one master our mindset and that conquering space and time within our own minds is sometimes seems like the most complicated thing. But it's really the easiest. It's choosing to think a different thought it's choosing to take a different action is choosing to interact in different conversation. We get to have those moments every day all day to make these choices and at some point these choices are gonNA lead to the results in our lives right now more than ever. We have again access to this incredible technology but we have to really master ourselves. The technology isn't taking advantage of US versus sticking advantage of the technology. I'M NOT GONNA Mention Tiger King again on this show but others missing one more time because Hashtag Joe Exotic all right. Joe Exotic is gonNA juice you for your time and that's cool but we WANNA use this technology to our advantage is so much to to consume but we want to be a creator right now not just a consumer. I so I hope that this episode gave you some new insights of new tools and some inspiration. Definitely check out amateur shutter podcasts pop over and check out. Her website is so much good stuff. There's so many resources you have a gift to give you. Have a skill set. You have experienced who have talent whatever form or fashion capacity. You choose to share. It is up to you all right but you have something to give and this is the time to do it. If Life Hasn't taught you one thing is that nothing is guaranteed. You've got to lean on yourself. You've gotta look within and understand that you are the Lynch pin in your own life. Who can't depend on all these different things as much as we once thought. It was never really liked that. It was all kind of an illusion. But you need to depend on yourself and take action and not just yourself. You're not alone. Got Amy you've got me but also good people who you know have been supportive force in your life are lean on those relationships. Believe on yourself to take action to create something. Because that's what you really here for. I appreciate you so much for tuning into this show. Got Some incredible stuff lineup for you coming up.

I literally just did a coaching session one week before this episode airs. And I was telling the girl is like I feel like your first instinct, and I know you've talked about this on your show. But the first time you go to sell. A course you wanna like add everything in the kitchen ebbing thing. And now taught me this to like not, and it's so funny because I was watching a webinar the other day, and it was like, you know, a hundred module program in like fifty hours of content. I was like I will never be able to do this. And so for me if I could get like a ten hour program. He I would way rather by that than a fifty hour program. And so I agree with you so much like removing the fluff. And I think that's why you're programs are so good because it's not like this whole like here's about Amy. Here's Amy's journey. It's like, no, no, no. It's yours step. A here is that the, and I think a lot of times it's like we want filler and we want like feel good. And it's like people are here to get. From a to b and like, how do you do that? And you are you are the Queen at that. Oh, well, thank you. 'cause I definitely it's a big deal to me. Like, let's cut out the fluff for sure yes, I love that. Okay. So you have full. It's funny. I think I know your podcast episodes better than you do. Okay. This makes me love you even more girl the other day texting Amy a screen shot. And I was like look at someone who's asking this question, and I like referred them to a podcast episode two years ago. And she's like, oh, I forgot about that shown as like, oh, actually do it once a quarter. But you have a podcast episode all about how to price your program. And so can we just talk like a little bit about that? Because I feel like I see a lot of questions around like I'm creating a new course or I'm creating a template or I'm I'm selling information. How do you kind of approach pricing, especially when you're starting out in this realm? He has I get this question a lot somebody will come to be in. They'll say, okay me. I'm creating a course to teach. People how to get started with yoga online, and they'll tell me before even asking the questions, they'll say, okay. So it's ten modules in each module. There are five lessons overall. It's about fifteen hours, plus eight PDF's and XYZ they'll go on and on and on and I'll say pricing. Your course has nothing to do with how many modules how many lessons how many PBS really comes back to what you and I were saying less is more actually. And so I learned this back in the day when I came out with the course that probably had I don't know twenty twenty-five lessons in it. And I think it was a thousand dollars. And then I watched Michael Hyatt come out with something and he had five modules like five videos, only, and it was around the same price, and I thought holy cow. So I studied it. And that's when I realized price is not dependent on how much stuff you have in. Your course, what it's dependant on one of the main factors is the level of transformation that you're promising somebody and so. Let's just say that the canning program if she told me that if Melissa said, I'm gonna charge two thousand dollars for this canny program, and I'm going to give him three months of canning in their pantry. I would say, okay. Is that result really worth a thousand dollars would someone pay a thousand dollars for that? I don't know. But I'd have to go back to the drawing board to kind of play around with that. And so this is where you have to experiment, but it really is the level of transformation in what you can charge. And so I have a course where I just get them started with a specific topic, and they run with it versus I've got another course where it's a to z everything you need to know, about course, creation in launching with webinars, and my big promises you could really do five to six figure launches once. You get going. There's a bigger transformation a bigger promise there, and so I- price accordingly, and I'll tell you one more to little things about price. Yeah. Number two. Is that you can always experiment. I say start a little lower than you. Might typically want to and then you can always go up from there. So it's a little awkward to start really high. And then go lower because people are like I paid the full price two months ago. So you want to be careful with that I experimented my profit lab program started at two ninety seven when all the way up to over one thousand dollars by the time, I had launched it several times. So that's one thing number to think about to tier pricing. I love to tier pricing where you have let's say an independent study where they get the entire program with all the bonuses. And then you have a VIP status where maybe it's just one hundred people, and they get to be in a private Facebook group with you for six weeks with live QNA's, but it's only one hundred people so it's exclusive and it's more expensive. Typically when you do a good job with this. You will always sell out quickly with your VIP, which makes everything look a lot more attractive that scarcity is a really good play. It's very true to look really did fill up all the spots. And the last thing is, and this is a must I believe payment plan payment plan payment plan. So if you have a program, that's even just two hundred dollars a lot of my students will do a to pay. But making it a no-brainer price helps immensely so if you're just starting now a payment plan, you will make more money with that. So something to think about I know it was actually interesting somebody in my gold digger Facebook group yesterday was like I don't understand why payment plans add up to be more money. And so I don't think they were thinking about like, people defaults. It's more work for your team to make sure all the money's coming in every mile. You're also giving people all of the content up front, and then believing that they will. So I think some people were like, I don't get why it's like nine ninety seven or twelve payments of ninety seven. That's why. So I love. Us on. So I was VIP person in your group. I was gonna talk one hundred or more because you're a baller late that I love like jumped everything you're saying of. Yes. Yes. And yes, you want to know I got to say something about that. The first time I ever knew Jenna was when she gave me this glowing testimonial. And so, you know, the world's busy in there. So many people online, and so when she stood out like her results were amazing, and she had this thriving business. Of course, not just because of me in the thriving business and doing great things. So I'm like who is this girl? So then I go to our website. She's got this gorgeous website, and it's so fun, and I fell in love with her instantly. And then we become friends, and then we go on our girls trip like things can happen when you get success in someone else's program. And you show what you can do. And I say that because I think that's really cool that you and I got. To connect because I got to see that. Oh my gosh. You're doing big things in the world. So it's just cool when you share your success like you were gracious enough to tell us your story. Oh, Carmi thing. Oh, yeah. I like recorded a video in my bathroom for you. I remember. But also to I think as educators like I am an saying with you. I'm always paying attention to the people that take action. A lot of my students have become employees of mine, they become people that have helped manage community like I notice, and I can see the people taking action in those are the people that are want to keep investing in because let's be honest Awada times people sign up for programs may be they'll take one or two modules, and they fall off the bandwagon things like that. I'm sure that you have thought about like how you can get people success in. I mean, part of that is paring down what your offer is to make it very clear are there any other tools to make sure that people that purchase actually get that success. Because like, I was a success story of yours. But I think there's a statistic, and I could be wrong in this that like three percent of people actually finish a program is that right? Somebody like I've never heard that one, but it is low in. So I'm on a mission to increase it as. Much as possible. So I'm glad you asked this question. So one of the things that I teach is something called a new customer on boarding sequence. And I I learned this in a really great way from reforlearly with beasts goal when I was a member like back in two thousand eleven because when you join their program, it wasn't like a love them and leave them or a one and done kind of thing, she communicated with me every single step of the way as I was going through, her course. And so I love that model, and I I made it my own tweaked it and really put my own personality to it. And I started to send out a new Email with every module, whether it would be an automatic program where you got all of it. I'd still send out an Email weekly saying okay by now, you're probably all module to let's talk about it. Or if I dripped it, which means they get one module every week. I could follow along really easy with them. But I would infuse a lot of my personality in in really become their cheerleader in their tough coach saying. If you haven't blocked time on your calendar if you haven't made time this week. Remember, why you signed up in the first place, and I'm always bringing him back to emotion, not necessarily step-by-step strategy. It's not the time to do that. It's really inspire and motivate and they hear from me every single week. So that was a big turning factor. I started to see a lot more testimonials and success stories when I implemented that. Yeah. And I mean, I think it's very easy to forget as an educator to like you. And I and I know a lot of educators. Other like, we feel really responsible for our students like I care so much like my goal is free to make back your investment in tenfold in twenty volt you know, but also like I thought in programs where I've only taken one or two modules and I'm not mad at the instructor. I'm mad at myself. You know, and so I think a lot of times too. We take on this added responsibility. Where it's like if you're going to go on and teach like, you can what is that quote like you can teach Amanda, fish or. You can. Gonna mess it up to or leave. No, no. We should know this. But they know what we're done with us. It's been Jim divisional have food forever or something like that. So it's like you can bring people to that. But like unless they choose to take action, it's not necessarily responsibility. And I bought programs just to get one piece of the puzzle to, you know, so there have been programs or like, I just want this template or I just wanna see how they do this. And so I love that because they feel like when you're focusing on getting people results like you said, there's more testimonials there's more people to the lifetime value of your customer goes up because of you can get them results in one program, then they're way more likely to invest in another program in another program as well. So true. It's so true. That's my favorite thing. When I've seen people go through so many of my different courses because their fans for life, and they tend to get in the really big results. So yeah, great point. I am one of those for life. I will buy anything you're selling a leg. Girl. So the last thing I wanna to talk about it because you are brilliant at this is let's say somebody says, okay, I'm gonna make a program, even if it's like a thirty nine dollar program that could be life changing for somebody to sell. So what could somebody do before during an after a launch to generate buzz and interests in the offer? I know you teach prelaunch launch post launch. Do you wanna just kinda give us a quick overview of things that people could do for that? Yes. Okay. So just remember that when I launched digital core. So when I teach my students to do so I am a huge fan of the webinar as Jenna. So we use webinars to promote our digital courses. So keep that in mind. And then I'm gonna walk you through some strategies. So number one, you're right. I do put a lot of focus on the prelaunch. And typically what that is is about six weeks before you launch. You just kinda amp up what you're doing online. Maybe if you're not doing Facebook lives every single week. Yes. Start to do them every single week and the content that you're teaching. Is somewhat aligned with what you're going to be selling on your webinar, your digital course. And so you start to show up live on Facebook more often or doing a little bit more itchy stories, or whatever it might be. You also really wanna ramp up getting on other people's podcast and guest, blogging and all of that. So that would be the prelaunch content. The prelaunch content is really crucial time to start warming up your audience and remember you can start putting out content to meet them where they're at which is what we talked about earlier. So some of that Content's going to address some of the fears and the challenges that they're facing this well, and then giving them some concrete content that they could take action with. So it's a really good mix, and you can have a lot of fun with it. And then during the launch that's where I really encourage my students to do multiple live webinars, I think one webinar just won't cut it. And if you do a few you can kinda ease into it and get much better with your webinars. So I. Encourage my students to do a few live webinars during their launch. Now, the secret sauce is what you do after the webinar, and after the webinar one of my students Donell, she teaches people how to groom cats that is her business, and she's created digital products on how to groom cats for people that are building businesses around this, and she used to do webinars to sell her course, and she said I used to love him and leave him. I do my webinar. But then I was done. And then she learned this process of sending post webinar emails to everybody who registered for the webinar in either didn't buy or didn't show up for it, and those post webinar emails can make you just as much money as those live webinars. So she started to send these post webinar emails doubled her revenue on her webinars and made a lot of good money with the strategy so post webinar emails are essential. But one more thing I'll say is after it's all said and done after you do your launch. And you close the cart and people can't buy anymore following up with a post launch survey to those that sign up for your webinar. But never bought if you do something, really simple. And really casual and just ask a few questions. You can get so much insight into why people didn't buy and I'm going to give you one more hint here if they say because it was too expensive. I never believe it because I think that will always find money for what we want. Right. You always find a way if it was too expensive, you likely didn't really tap into that desire or that challenge or what they really wanted to solve. And sometimes that's just perfecting. Your message perfecting your copywriting. What I will tell you in. This is Jen, and I are great example of this. It takes time you do a few launches and you get a whole lot better. So be patient with yourself. I love that. And I think objections of time and money are never reliable to do. Because everyone is the same amount of time in like you said like people just value things differently. I'm not saying everyone can afford a five thousand dollar program but were saying that man like it you can make sacrifices or or move things around a little bit. If it's worth it to you. So that end result that that person is painting has to be as valuable as what you're spending for. Sure. Yes. Yeah. I always think time in money. I'm like that's the objection for literally everything in life altering thing. Let's talk about the real objective. Oh my gosh. I love that. Okay. So the last call to action I want is let's say somebody's listening. They've never thought about taking their knowledge in creating something that they could sell with. What has been the best thing that online education has done for? You are given you. It truly has given me so much freedom. Here's the coolest thing ever. Ninety five percent of my revenue comes from me, selling my own digital courses. But right now, I only have two digital courses. You do not need a huge suite of digital courses to be able to make money online. And because I have money coming in every single day with my evergreen programs. I'm able to only say yes to the things that light me up, and I get to say no to the things that I just don't like to do. It doesn't matter. Why don't like to do them? I just don't want to do some stuff, and I don't have to and I know the difference because the first two years of business of having a consulting one on one client type of business. I said yes to everything because I was afraid I wouldn't have enough money coming in if I left a client or lost a client. So these days if fills very different in I get to have the freedom to say, yes. And no what I want when I want to and that to me is a really good life. I'm a hundred percent with you. I think there's so much freedom. It's scalable, it takes away the trading time for money thing. I mean, imagine if you were still consulting one on one today, you wouldn't have impacted thousands of people. That's a big difference. Yes. It's so true. Okay. I feel very fortunate. We're can everyone find you you guys. I am probably like the number one listener of Amy's pod gun. But now, you guys will all be. So give us all the places that we can connect with you. Because you have absolutely been one of the biggest mentors in my life ever, Jen that makes on a cry. Thank you for saying that 'cause you have done so many amazing things if I could be a tiny sliver of that. I just lights me up. So first of all, thank you. And I love you dearly and number two, I met Amy Porterfield dot com, and I'm at Amy Porterfield on Instagram and shadow Degen because when we went on that girls trib Janet, and I and Rachel Hollis. We talked about like how? Oh, I could do better on Instagram, and it's kind of bid amazing transformation. I've had on Instagram in that was because of you girls. So thank you for that. And I'm having a lot of fun with it. Well, everyone needs to go follow, you know, real talk before we hang up men aid are like two peas in pod because we're very different or very much the same in certain things. And so it's just really funny. The other night, we were voice texting each other like sleeve richly. Drew's like who are you talking to it? I was like it's Amy like we talk about launches like most people talk about episodes of the bachelor like. Excited about this stuff in so Amy. I am sure with so much certainty. "A live chat on my sales page where my team is available to answer any questions. So any high touch I can get in there. Especially in the last moments. I will. Wow, thanks for that. Oh, good. So important. There's a couple of things I'm like, oh my God. I can implement that. Let me ask you about. The Email secret says because I don't think people understand when you say Email enough that it makes you uncomfortable. How many you have ten day Carso for people who maybe are in that. I know it's seven to ten days. But I love your ten day window, just because it sounds like in order to give that full experience and fit in everything that you want to fit in there, you know, ten days feels like a good window for that. So you're not like every single day doing something. But is bright emails how many emails are in. That sequence is at once a day. Or is it three times a day every day for the ten days or what does that look like great question? So if it's a ten day launch meaning the cardinal bins in the car closes in. We've got ten days in between all of that. I will do a few things if you signed up for my webinar, you are going to get a few emails just one a day. I typically do not do more than one Email a day unless it's the cart closed day. So you're going to get an Email. L once a day leading up to your live webinar to encourage you to show up live. Maybe tell you a story give you a video. So that's probably two three emails depending on when you signed up for the webinar because I typically have people sign up pretty close to win. The webinars going to be live because that helps me get my show up rate up that if they sign up closer to the actual live webinar, they tend to show up live. So that sign up is important the timing of that. So anyway, I might send a few emails just to encourage them to make sure they get on live. And then after the webinar I'll be just one Email a day up until cart closes and if all's over weekend probably won't Email on the weekend. Now, some people like what are you sending a lot of the times? I'll talk about the bonuses. Or maybe I'll add what we call a mid cart. Bonus doesn't always happen right in the middle. But we might add an extra bonus for twenty four hours that gives me an excuse to Email as well. So that tends to be a really good day. When I added bonus and say, it's only available for twenty four. Hours. And then I don't talk about it afterwards. And so that's another excuse to Email and looking for reasons that are valuable the Email. But once a day typically is what I'll do. Oh, so good. So I have some people who have asked me. And also this is a question that comes up with my team all the time. But we so we do bonuses. Like that throughout like, you know, it'll be twenty four hours just to kind of like incentivize, but some people have mixed feelings on. Okay. We'll you're giving a bonus in the middle. So what about the people who bought on the first day? Do you honor that bonus if all the emails come in about like, hey, I bought why? When I be honored on the first day when I bought, yes. And so we definitely do honor that so if you've purchased already you get the bonus, and I say I'll say about this brand new bonus. And if you already purchased don't worry, it's already yours hoping that I don't get twenty extra emails in my customer support. Because I make it clear. Oh, yes. So I actually say, okay. Wow. Isn't that really clears up a lot on the customer service end? Okay. Of clarity for all of that. Okay. That's amazing. So what are the last things that you would tell people who are really hoping to get the most out of their launch. Is there anything that they should do throughout any intention that they should be holding any specific wording that they should really hone in on? Obviously copywriters are useful. But what if you're doing your own copy that was like five questions, Amy? So if it's good, it's good. If you're doing your own copy, which many of us are usually whether you're in phase one of your business face to I didn't even have a copywriter till recently. So in the like last year, so I think most of us are writing our own poppy. And if that's the case one of the things, I think is really important is to find maybe two or three objections that you just know are coming up a lot. And I want you to weave that shoe everything that you do one of the tricks that I have that helps me a lot with messaging during a launch is I'm. Clear like what's going to stop them from buying? And I'll give you a little trick on a webinar right before. I go into the live QNA. I've already told them about my program, and they can buy it. And I've given them a link, and I'll say, okay, we're going to go into a live QNA. Now any questions you have. I'm here to answer them. But before I do at this moment, you might be thinking. And then I just go go through exactly what's keeping them from buying. So I'll say you might be thinking I wanna buy your course, Amy. But I don't have an Email list. Is it too soon for me? And then I talk about that. And then the next one I want to do this. But I'm so busy. I can't even find time to focus on another course. And I address it. So whatever it is that they're thinking, I genuinely address it with the solution for them. So we can wipe out those objections right away, and we can go into acuity that's going to serve them. But I also use those in my emails like I might even have a subject line. That says like I am not by another course, I have three that. I haven't finished. And so I talk about why they. Haven't been ish. And why this would be different. So I really drill into those throughout the entire launch. Oh, man. That's so incredibly good. So Ania can talk to you for like four more hours because truly I just want to recognize you for really honing in on your craft and going through every single phase in every single question, and I can tell that you have spent so much time with each individual customer. But also getting really vulnerable to share exactly where you were at to understand your people. So I know so many people are number one salivating to work with you right now because I'm like eating out of your hand. So I first of all just want to ask if there's anything else that you want to share before we go. I just want to share that no matter where you are. You will always feel as though you don't have total firm grant, like a footing, and I think that is normal. So whether I'm in the scaling vase now or not too long ago. I felt like I was just starting out. You never feel like one hundred percent like I've nailed it. And I've got this face down. You'll always have those doubts that creep in like I said, though, it's just easier that you are able to snap back from them as you move through these different phases. So give yourself a little grace so powerful. And so true. I mean, I I so mirror that I just want to thank you again for coming on. And where can we all find you? Where can we follow in? How can we work with you? Thank you so much for asking. So I am at Amy Porterfield dot com. But you could probably get the most value with my podcast. Cast online marketing made easy. "Easy webinar, but there's a few great ones out there. We're going to continue to do it and we're also going to we're playing around with a quiz that a quiz about creating online courses. Like, are you ready to do it? The quiz then will invite them to a webinar if they're ready based on their quiz results. That's the latest thing we're playing with. I think it's gonna work like gangbusters. So I'll keep you updated. I know a few people some couple, Mike celebrator students are using quizzes to have a particular tool that you are already using kind of plan that. Yes, interact did I am I saying that, right? I see. You know, Pat, I get my tools wrong all the time. That's okay. Think it's interact something that sounds like that I feel bad because if it's not, it's something like that there was not interact, Ryan Iraq dot com. Okay. Is something like that? Oh, try interact. Grow your Email list and make sales using quizzes. Thank you need to remember that for the future, but that's what we're using for all of our quizzes. And because we've used quizzes in the past for other promotions, so we'll continue to use that. Let me ask you about that. Like, why? Why do you think a quiz might work better? Okay, so I'm glad we brought this up and then we'll wrap it up. I promise. But one thing we've noticed because we run so many Facebook ads to a webinar registration page. One thing that I think is changing not completely so we still do it. We run Facebook ads directly to a webinar registration page, but we also have noticed that putting something in front of that can warm up the audience that they're more likely to show up for the webinar and interact with those post webinar emails and all of that. If we give them a little bit something something before they get on the webinar because remember I'm running Facebook ads to a cold audience. I've tapped out on my warm audience. So with that, we want to warm them up a little bit. So a quiz really helps them decide, would this be something that's right for me or maybe I'm jumping the. Gun, like with course, Christian people don't know if they're business or if they are ready. So putting a quiz in front of it again, answering some objectives, objections that they don't even know they have yet is a really good way to say. Let me tell you about yourself based on your quiz results. And then from there I could give them proof that, yes, you're ready or my. My quizzes are genuine. No, you're not ready instead, it's time to focus on list building. I've got a webinar for that. That's the magic of that one. Okay. I like that. So you're almost kind of having a conversation with them beforehand and helping through something. Alright, you're giving them a quick win and helping them kind of say yes to a few things before they say yes to hopefully bigger things. Exactly. I like it, Amy. Thank you so much for coming on and sharing all this information. It's very helpful for me and I know everybody else's listening to wear. Might people go to or where would you want them to go from here? Well, you could just check out Amy, Porterfield dot com. If you don't know what a funnel is, a funnel is how you take somebody from when they first find you to the next step to the next step to eventually a purchase decision of some kind. Hopefully a customer is what they become a evergreen sales funnels. One that happens automatically set things up ahead of time so that that progression happens automatically. Some of the pluses and minuses the pros and cons of it in which you can do, whether you already have a business or not. This is a great way to start thinking. It's like, I remember when I read the four hour workweek by Tim Ferriss like I didn't even have a business yet back in two thousand eight, but it was inspiring because it showed me the right way to go about it. And then when I finally built my business, I had built it in a way such that it was mostly automated based on what I learned from Tim. Now we're talking about not just sales funnels, but evergreen sales funnels. And even if you don't have a business will be very helpful. All you have to do two things. Number one hits subscribe. If you haven't already number to put that phone that pocket because this is going to be a good one. Amy Porterfield with us hit that music. Thank you so much for joining me in session three hundred and thirty five of the smart passive income podcast, very thankful to have one of my best friends here in the online space who is also with me in San Diego's. Well, we get coffee every once in a while. I really wanted her to come back on the show to talk about this because I noticed that Amy had switched from a lot of live launches, which is where you kind of have to work to have a launch period between a certain amount of time. And it takes a lot of effort and work, which is what I'm doing right now. Mostly although we are starting to experiment with evergreen. I don't know much about it yet and what do I do when I don't know much about something I talked to as many experts who have done that thing before, and that's exactly why we have these experts like Amy here on the show to not just share with me, but share with you all the things we need to know before we dive in and go full force with it. So without further ado, let's bring on Amy Porterfield from Amy Porterfield dot com. And the online marketing made easy podcast. Here she is Amy, welcome back to the SPA podcast..
