Andy Erwin, Half of the Film-Making Erwin Brothers, Talks About 'The Jesus Music Movie'
"Are you looking for a good movie D like jesus music. I've got an idea. Why doesn't somebody. I don't know who make a film about jesus music. They could call it. You don't even need a title. You could just call it the jesus music movie Why i've been thinking that and then it turns out a couple of guys. I think that they're brothers. I think that they're the erwin brothers. Have made just such a film for such a time as this. I think andy or when might be my guest right now. Andy is that you good to be with you. Buddy all your is. We're on the same plane as usual. I think so. I think so i. I love music in general but the jesus music the stuff that we call you know. Ccm whatever what made you decide to make a film about the music. You i mean we. We love the music that has really shaped career You know. Of course with john. And i started out as music video. Directors and michael w smith was an artist that took a chance on us as kids and really kind of gave us are starting the industry and that led to us telling the story of i can only imagine the beloved song And the story behind that and that was our breakout hit and so for us. We have a deep affinity for this music but when covert hit it kind of shut everything down and we read a place in time where we said what what stories can we tell. Now that we couldn't tell any other time in history and somebody on our creative team said nobody's looked at the origin of of christian debris music and for the first time in history all these artists off the road at the exact same moment and so we reached out to amy grant and michael smith said it is interesting listed knowledge and interesting but we want to produce it you guys and not many people knew at the time but amy was about a month out from having open heart surgery and she was a really reflective time so we set up the cameras actually outside her house in filled through the window of her house with a two way intercom to get her interview and she gave one of the most raw vulnerable interviews. I had heard an artist give and it just spread like wildfire. Next thing you know we have a hundred different artists about three hundred hours of interviews to go through and it kind of morphed into this beautiful all encompassing

Religion & Divorce With Author Amy Pettyjohn
"So one of the common questions that i receive. I think i get a message or to every single week from particularly a woman who says that she is in this really unhealthy relationship but it goes against everything that she was raised to believe about marriage. In that a lot of times i even here like there's family members who were in ministry and have just you know said that bill shun her if she gets a divorce. So let's just i kick it off and if you can share like your own religious background and what role it played in the decision that you made sure and i relate so much to those kind of messages because that was me. I was raised to believe that the worst is never an auction. Never an option and that god heat sports and so when i got into a marriage full of just sexual immorality and lies in i just felt stocker felt like there was still no way out because versus never option and so i stayed for a really long time and i just stuck there and so it took me a long time to get to a point of understanding. God's love means for me and grace and mercy and what the bible really says about marriage and divorce and that there is a way out of fat and so it took me while to get here. But once i got here and i really aged discovered. God's grace infirmity loves me doesn't want me to be a maximum of situation able to have that freedom. Did you have any external pressures trying to talk you out of getting a divorce. Oh absolutely yes you know. It's funny when you're in a church situation. You can be an addict alcohol. But you can't have problems in your marriage and interpret and that happens so often so there's really nowhere to go so you kind of keep a lot of things secret anytime keep you know what's happening in your marriage to yourself but also when i did start talking about divorce absolutely there was some pressure and i know my parents show kathy talking about this by parents. Were big part of that pressure. Being wanted me to stay. When the day i filed for divorce got a phone call from them and it will and it's just as hard. My parents and i went through a lot of bruce together in my
Sean Feucht on Saturating Washington DC in Prayer
"Us more about the prayers. The next day the white house all that kind of stuff. Yeah so this is our second year in a row doing this and one of the things we really try to do is is really saturate. The city of dc. It's a. I would call it. It's almost like a pilgrimage. For for believers you know going to the capital city of place of significance that affects every area of our life. And then going to to to to the places in that city that really need prayer so we went to the supreme court and last year we had the largest prayer meeting in ever in american history in front of the supreme court over three thousand people showed up in the rain and it was significant because it was on the eve of amy coney baron getting confirm two supreme court and actually since that prayer meeting every single religious liberties case. It's been brought against the church has been overturned in the supreme court. So that's amazing. Were undefeated since our last prayer so we gathered there on sunday morning and then we went to the white house after the after that and prayed and worshipped at the white house. Eric you're with me together. There and then we moved to the lincoln memorial and we did a prayer meeting there and then we convene for the grand finale on the national mall so we really we hit all areas of dc. We just saturate the city. I mean you could see lettuce worship dear. You know shirts and everything was everywhere. And it's just something that we really like to do. We're going to go and take over the city for a day. Fill it with prayer. Fill it with worship shift the narrative of what people think about that

Apple App Store Changes Fail to Stem Push for Overhaul Bill
"Peace offerings and settlements between apple and developers won't stop congressional moves against app stores couple of weeks ago apple announced a proposed settlement with smaller developers. Perhaps the biggest concession offered by apple was the one that would let developers use communications such as email to share information about payment methods outside of their ios app. A few days later apple settled with the japanese government that settlement included a pledge to let reader apps such as net flex and spotify. And who knows. Maybe some that actually involve reading under terms of the settlement apple will let reader apps include an in napa linked to their website for users to either setup or managing account and sign up using a non app store. Payment method will be possible according to a piece from macrumors. Maybe they think it's not enough. Maybe they just wanna look tough. For the first time to have something on my nose looked at and take an offer a biopsy he recommended. I start using a moisturizer with spf for my face but not a specific brand. Can you weigh in on this. Rebecca so okay rebecca so sorry to hear about your nose. I really hope the results are good. That is definitely never fun to have to go in for any sort of biopsy But yes definitely a good idea to use spf. Amy dot com all right. I got to emails here that we're about adoption. So i'm combining them as a like a third email together. The first one is from trish. Hey amy goddess put adoption on my heart. But i don't even know where to begin. I live in florida. Googling has been a rabbit hole. So i figured emailing you is worth a shot. Can you point me in the right direction for this journey. And the next email was from kaelin. Hey amy my best friend. Just got some pretty scary news and it looks like adoption will now be their plan for if they want more kids. You recommend it a book on air for anyone looking into adoption. What was that book. Okay kaelin so the book. We'll start with. That is adopted for life and there are several books that i would recommend but i think you're asking about the one that my husband read that opened up his heart fully to adopting after we weren't able to get pregnant biologically now. That's a book to read before you adopted when you're considering it and then during the adoption process or even after you've adopted i recommend any book by karyn purvis and i also recommend one by dr lee called healing parents helping wounded children learn to trust and love because naturally if a child is in foster care or has been lived in orphanage or maybe even was adopted as a newborn there. Still some stuff that's going to be going on in their brain that doesn't allow them to trust fully. So that's why i'm recommending that book as well and then trish. I'm so happy to hear that you're thinking about adoption but also happy to hear that you're researching and asking questions. I feel like it's so important to do that. And i'll start off by saying that adoption is amazing. But you also need to know that. There's going to be challenges. I mean but there's challenges with raising children adopted or biological. I'm personally love adoption because it gave us the opportunity to have kids otherwise we would not have had. We wouldn't have kids at all and so you know. After struggling with infertility adoption was the option. That made the most sense for us. We opted not to do via for anything like that and we also chose to adopt older children from haiti because the likelihood of them getting adopted was far less than a newborn baby and we did consider the newborn domestic route for a little while. In fact we had done all the paperwork for that. That's the road we were headed down. And then our story just shifted. After i visited haiti and we changed our minds. And you know when we adopt. It's awesome because we're giving kids opportunity to be loved to feel safe to have a family. But i highly recommend that every family consider the pros and cons of adoption before you begin the process. Because it's very long and very grueling. Even if you're not fully prepared to adopt honestly. I think the process itself will naturally weed you out because if you're not ready or committed than you definitely are not going to follow through with the paperwork because it's never ending and one of the agencies that we worked with we actually ended up working with a few different ones in the process. Had us answer these questions at the beginning of our journey and i went back into my email like years and years back to find these questions from two thousand twelve and so i'm just going to read them off so they sent an email that said. Do you meet the legal requirements to adopt..

Biden Admin Withholds Millions of Aid for Hospitals Treating COVID Patients
"Hospitals bulge again with Covid 19 patients. A wide swath of the health care industry is exasperated that federal health officials have not made available anymore of the aid. Since Joe Biden took office Now $44 billion from a provider relief fund, created last year remains unspent, along with 8.5 billion Congress allotted in March for the medical care in rural areas. Strategic Podcast Partners: Why You Need One
"I love doing the educational pieces of podcasting. Because this is all the stuff that i wish. I would've known. Whenever i first got started in a strategic podcast partnership was not even on my radar not at all because i never heard anybody talking about it and having had many strategic partners over the last few years i thought. Why don't more people talk about this. It's like it happens and you see it happening to maybe other people in your sphere. But you're like whoa. How did that person get connected to that person. And then all of a sudden they have this cool relationship or they have this new partnership that you see like on social media or maybe you see it in different communities. Whatever but you're like but how. How did that actually happen. How did this work now after today. You're not gonna have like this magic formula for how to make you know someone your best friend. Amy porterfield like i'm not going to give you like the magic sauce the magic recipe to all of a sudden. Make it to where you have someone that who has a huge platform now that you're you're besties with them. But i am going to give you some practical advice like i said earlier. Lots of examples. And i want you to walk away from this episode knowing that when you show up and you serve and you give tons of value. I'm a firm believer that it comes back tenfold. It's what happened with me. Creating my podcast me creating my youtube channel me just really continuing to provide value. It's something that people come to me. That i don't even know right. Maybe we've never met in person. Maybe we've never talked. Maybe you've put a comment on social media. And that's the only interaction that we've ever actually had but i will have people tell me you deliver so much value because that's one of my principals in. It's something that i stick by. And i just love showing up and serving this way and it's what i'm doing here today because like i said. I wish somebody would have told me about this. This was something that could really really helped me get further in my podcasting journey. Because it's something i didn't even think about. It's just something that happened naturally and organically and now that i have several partners strategic people in my life that helped me whenever i felt stuck or they introduced me to other people. Like y'all the power of an introduction especially when you're looking at a you know someone you're like oh my gosh so cool to just meet them being in their sphere to know that you're actually connected with the people that can help you go further faster. But i'm just gonna leave everything anonymous just in case. This person's friend might be listening. Sup might be awkward. But i got this email that said hey. Listen your podcast. Every week love hearing all of the positive body image food freedom and self help segments that you have. I'm writing in. Because i was recently on the phone with one of my good friends who is thirty weeks pregnant right now. She kept making comments about her body and how she is so proud that she'd only gained twelve pounds since the beginning of her pregnancy. How fat she feels though etc. That absolutely broke my heart to hear. And i didn't really know how to respond. Apparently she's never had so many compliments on her radiance her complexion and her glow none of which are related to her weight. I tried to steer the conversation the direction of bringing attention to her unborn child and how amazing it was that her body was growing baby. However it didn't seem to change anything. I wanted so badly to tell. Her worth was not tied to her size. But i didn't know how to say that without sounding insensitive. I know she's excited about her baby but she seems really determined to get to her pre baby figure maybe even keep the pre baby figure even in her third trimester me know if you have any advice. I'm concerned for my friend. Thanks now i know this is alive. But i guess just from a perspective of you really could take this. Like maybe don't have a pregnant friend but you have an opinion about a friend's life or about anybody in your life if you have something that you're concerned about them but is it really any of your business to say something or how would you recommend a friend handling this with her friends. She feels like her friends. A little too obsessed with like not gaining weight during her pregnancy Well one i would say. I think that it's honorable that she's even noticing that and also what stuck out to me as her saying i think of something about you might have to remind you what it was but i don't wanna be insensitive. I don't wanna be yes. She said i wanted so badly to tell. Her worth was not tied to her size. But i didn't know how to say that without sounding insensitive. What about that sounds insensitive. Well i don't know. I guess your body is changing while you're pregnant and it so if you're struggling with it and you're saying that to a friend than in the friends like oh but you know you shouldn't have. You shouldn't worry about okay that makes it. That makes sense. Okay that makes it so. I think that's where you can invite the dialectic of having to things that are conflicting. Be true in real. It sounds like you're really struggling with this and it must be hard for me. I've never been pregnant. So i know what that feels. I could say something like. I don't know what it's like to watch your body change as you're going through pregnancy and at the same time what i know to be true about my body and your body is neither of our bodies have anything to do with how valuable in good we are. Humans notice it. Yeah it's a good way to say it. And that what that does is that honors their experience at the same time speech truth. Yeah no. that's great advice. Because i'm so glad you're here because i was going to be like anything. It's business with other things. I was kidding. Is your think that right. That's glad that you even joked about that. Because some people do think it's my business. And i don't wanna step on anybody's toes and i don't want to do xyz. And what i would say is they are one making it your business because they're bringing up to you but also a lot of the times we say things like that because we are looking for something that we're afraid to ask for so you know what i aim so like if i'm having a really really bad body image day you might hear me say something like i feel so gross in my body or something like that and i might be really asking without being able to ask for i need you to reassure me that like i am not with my body. Looks like because. I can't do that on my own today. Now where i am in my the recovery process. I might be better equipped to actually verbalize what i want. But a lot of people and sometimes even me. I don't have that ability so let me ask you something as a friend that might be giving you that. This is interesting. Because i think sometimes we hear our friends and needing that validation or that affirmation we might offer up the you look great or you're not. I'm just saying the response. Yeah if someone's like oh. I feel so fat today. You're not fat. Yeah okay right. That's our response. But what. I focused on what you said which the response was not giving them. What the that's not what they need to hear. They need to hear say it again. I'm learning what they really probably need to hear. Is that their what their body looks. Or what their body feels like does not have a direct relation to their worthiness or how valuable they are. Yes yes write that down. Because i think that we do that often is friends is just like no you look great eyeing that about yourself or ended up but it could be the like know what they need to hear as that validation that yes they're worth has nothing to do first of all i. I like the fact that you said. I feel fat. We don't want to say no. You're not fat because what one that saying is being fat would be bad right when it's not exactly and then the other thing is like we don't get to choose how somebody feels in their body so if i do feel like that is my truth that day. You telling me that that's not my truth. Isn't solving the problem. But what i might need to hear. Is that like yeah you you. Maybe you feel that way and that's probably really hard. Guess what you're still just as good as you were when you felt this way I feel like this is good for. Moms to take into or dads. If you're listening to your kids can say certain things about their body at times and that's an excellent response to that. You know what i used to hear a well-meaning thing and i i think so many parents do this. I was teased as a kid for my body and what my mom would tell me is your should probably say like. You're not fat. Your big boned. You built your dad will. Also i don't want that. That doesn't help me much or probably wanted her. To say is oh. I'm so sorry that you're feeling bad about yourself. You're feeling gross at the same time. I want you to know that no matter what your body looks like. I'm gonna love you the same. Tell me that. Tell me that what your body looks like my love you the same. Yeah that's good. Speaking of our bodies. I got a couple of emails asking about a follow up if i ever went to see my dermatologist. Because i had this black line in my thumb now. I forgot about that. Yeah so. I haven't gone for the full body. Checkup had to move the dermatologist's appointment twice now. So what. I was supposed to actually have one this week but my daughter started volleyball. And she's got a game now. That was scheduled site. A move it again but i was able to see a friend's husband who is a dermatologist. And he looked at it but in a he didn't specialize in that he he's more of like a a surgeon that does works with dermatologists. I guess i guess. It shouldn't ascribe exact i i don't know if it's he looked at it off the clock and said that he thought it was trauma to the nail it that it wasn't any type of skin cancer but what was interesting and that i want to remind people abou is that i will be going my full-body checkup as soon as i can get it scheduled but you shouldn't wear nail polish to the dermatologist. Because they need to look at your nail beds because you can get melanoma or whatever type of cancer in there and that's how a listener noticed it. I put up a picture on instagram. At my dad's funeral was holding a bottle of coke and some peanuts and like a rose because we had peanuts and coco funeral and she zoomed in. But i mean i guess. She's highly sensitive to it because she's someone that lost her thumb due to this. So she's zoomed in and salt the line and then reached out to like ray and bay through their cameo to like get me a message because she didn't she didn't know if i would see a note so she paid forty dollars started cameo and she straight up said to ray like i don't want the cameo i just want you to tell amy to please go to the doctor. That's actually really. It was really thoughtful in sweet so rayan ended up making a cameo anyways to get to our. But i thought that that was i was like well. We have the most amazing listeners in the.

"You need therapy because well you do. We all do and she was already at my house because we were recording. Actually something for her. You need podcast. I was a guest for the very first big deal which i was. I was honor that you asked me. I think we talked about grief. And i thought it was a good talk about that. It's not something that's always comfortable to talk about. But i recently had meghan divine on my podcast and it's already one of the most listened to episodes of this year so it's clearly a topic that is resonating with people and i think our chat will be comforting. If you're going through something just so again that you know that you're not alone and we went through some just different things and then wildly enough. I came up with some crazy analogy at the end of the episode. They oga the cat said she's now going to use with her. Do you say patients or clients okita with her clients so every time you bring it up with the client you have to give me credit hundred branches killing your no. I didn't make this up. This is from the new. Yeah give me the credit so cats joining us we of impromptu recording this together but if y'all wanna go listen to that episode. It's tuesday today and that my episode with her went up yesterday on monday. So you can go listen to it out. what is created. go search up. You need therapy. Wherever you listen to podcasts. And then you can subscribe follow. That would be nice. You appreciate that right cat and maybe even read and review if you have time but we always do a quote at the beginning of the fifth thing. So i've asked cat to share something that i saw her post on the other day. I probably have honestly set it on my podcasts. Before because i loved it so much. I don't know if i said it last week or so but again. We're going to do it again because it's so good. Well this is actually something that i found a video. I saw on take talk and it was a video that i watched about seventeen times then i send it to so many people because it was not just comforting to me but it was. I think i mean. I thought it'd be comforting to a lot of people and it is from a guy. His name is tyas james barker. And i will recommend going to his page and watching the whole video but this vote that i pulled from it said f. Everything's gonna be okay. It doesn't mean everything's going to line up with your expectations. Yeah everything's gonna be okay but it doesn't mean it's going to line up with your expectations and we actually talked about the quote to in your episode that we just did. Yeah so if you want more of that. Definitely check out his Talk and listen to our episode because it may give you comfort in that because sometimes that's hard to to sit with once you realize it but then when you do it's almost like you can like exhale and it another thing and this isn't like fully quoted but this is kind of something that he said in that. Video is the fact that even though life might not go the way you want it to life can still impress. You can still be good and to me. That's just so comforting in my stage of life now but even as i look at other stages it's been proven and i think it's just so nice the way he said it in the way he verbalised a lot of what i have needed to hear because i know for me and i wonder for you. I like to tell people. I like to tell myself. I like that idea that everything will be okay but it sometimes has seemed almost insensitive. But when you listened because it's like sometimes you be like well. No it's not okay right now in what. Yeah and what people are saying. Is that you're going to get everything you want. What people are saying like it's gonna be okay in life can still be good right. You gave me a key chain. That says something like everything's going to be so good so soon i remember showed it to a friend one. She's like notes on or something. I don't like that but you know everybody's personality is different. But i was like. Oh yeah it's going to be so good so soon. I have hope for that. I don't know so yeah everyone. It's interesting how people taking things differently. But that's okay. That's what makes it awesome as we're all in different in how we process. Did you know that a cat's purr is healing. I'm asking you a cat. I'm serious. I did not know that but i imagine that to be one. Yeah so we got a cat And i was laying on my daughter's bed with our cat is a little kitten maybe cetera team weeks at this point and she just was the first time i'd ever heard of pearl like this. I guess she was finally like comfortable. I guess pet cats can per when they're really stressed owl but when she was stressed out she wasn't even near us 'cause she was trying to get acclimated but now put her on the cat leash. Oh she hates leash but we're trying to train her so like it but my daughter. She's watching youtube videos trying to figure out how to get her to like the leash but she was laying next to me on the bed and that was the first super close to me and cuddling up and she was purring so loud so i took a video of it and posted on instagram. And so many people responded me that actually there's healing benefits for humans. A cat's per so i was like okay. Lay next to me more cat. But i googled it and petting purring. Cat has a calming effect. Can help lower stress hormones. Some people isn't right now. They hate cats are like okay. I'm done listening. But i guess me being a new mom myself. I was fascinated by the fact that we know. The animals are good so for cats. That could be the purring. Maybe it's like for dogs. It could be something else is doing something for you. I know right now. i'm really into my cat. The purring lowers blood. Pressure emerged uses the risk of heart disease. Cat owners have a forty percent less risk of having having a heart attack. I need to get a cap. I know a mike to change has got a cat and then quote there are many stories of people with migraines who's headaches are eased or extinguished when they lie with their heads close to purring cats said quote..

"Entrepreneurs. I truly find that when someone builds a business from a place of wanting to make a genuine impact. They leave a legacy. In fact. i'd love to ask you. What kind of legacy do you dream of leaving. do you think about that. Like what kind of impact would be important for you to make in this world. I don't know if i thought enough about legacy. So i'm asking you this question because i'm really looking in the mir saying already me. What kind of legacy do you wanna leave. And whether that means you make an impact on the lives of your children or an audience of five million people no matter what am i. It's equally important. I think about the kind of legacy that i could leave for young girls who are just getting out into the world and giving them this idea that they can do it differently and be their own boss like that totally lights me up so if you wanna get clear on the impact you wanna make in the legacy you want to leave. "Kick with amy brown happy thursday. Welcome to the fore things. Podcast amy here. And i thought i was going to have an interview for you today. But my guests had to reschedule. So you got me for all four things. But i feel like i've got some good stuff for you. We're gonna talk about sitting with anxiety of also got some things to do at night for possibly a better night's sleep. I have four things that i'm going to recommend for you something that i'm adding into the podcast here. And they're just things that i am using or loving or you are asking a lot about when i post something and then lastly i have a tip for manners if you happen to be a parent. You're gonna wanna listen to this one for sure all right so first thing sitting with anxiety my friend lisa hayme who i co host outweigh with and she has her own. Podcast called the trickiest live. I've shared her newsletters with you often. Because gosh they're just so good. And i get them in my email and then i read over them. And i'm like oh. This is something that i want to share with my listeners. Because i think it's a value for sure so this is the newsletter that lisa's sent out and it was titled sitting with anxiety. Lisa said i woke up on monday with a real funky visit from an z. What i sometimes call my old friend. Anxiety i could feel an in my titan tummy. Shallow breath and continuous reach for the cell phone and repeated opening of the same apps. I needed nothing to do with. Let me stop right here and be clear about one thing. My goal is to not cure or rid myself of an. We're in this life together. And i don't think it's possible nor is that the best method of trying to control the beast. Although this was once my approach my goal is to avoid aggravating her and perhaps use methods of anxiety management to tame her the best. I can or perhaps learn why she's paying me this visit so i'm going to share with you my plan that i use if you two are having a visit from an number one break from the plan. I wanted to share something on instagram. That i felt called to share with yesterday. The message is important but the timing is also key. This can wait. I reminded my busy brain and action for you. Is there something in your life. That can wait that. You're adding urgency to for no reason..

When scrolling through my subscribe to podcasts. I realized that. I haven't listened to the fore things. Podcast in awhile. Sorry so naturally. I've binged because my heart has needed what you've been sharing a number of reasons when listening to your most recent fifth episode with mary followed by the fantastic episode of doctor candy. And especially after listening to the one with your brother discussing open-mindedness i absolutely had to share a book. Recommendation with y'all the book is the scout mindset. Why some people see things clearly and others. Don't buy julia gal. If i heard the book after listening to a vox conversation podcast titled how to be wrong less often. I listened to the podcast and purchase the book about halfway through listening. It's so good imperfectly. Explains what you and your brother and other guests have been discussing being open minded and actually listening to one another. It's amazing hope. You have a great day all right lisa. Thank you for that recommendation. And i wanted to share your email because i have downloaded the book. The scout mindset. "You're new here the podcast came after the merch like we had the four things lying under a spa to support haiti. And then the podcast was happening. We were trying to figure out a name. And one of my bosses said something about the four things podcast and the brand was already there and it was like oh that could be interesting for different things every thursday and so that stuff came first but it is cool because if you're a listener on your part of the four things fan than it's like you have merged to represent that you listen and it doesn't have to be the joy seeker there's other four things items probably our most popular being. I'm fine. it's fine. Everything is fine but it is something where if somebody else sees you out in it. And they're in the know then they're like. Oh yeah i see you. You're either the fan of the podcast. Or the bobby brown show or the shot ford or somebody on instagram. Or maybe you just saw someone random posts about it and you don't know who the heck we are. Somehow you're here now but this is us and that's the origin that's how it all came about. The podcast was not i. The fourth line also started with the four things tote the very first thing which mary and i've explained this we need to get all the details but it all started with her giving the gift no intention of making the item never like i no and then the orphanage or kids were they needed to pay the nannies. We thought. Why don't we sell these. Try to fund raise for the nanny salaries and then boom. It just kinda took off from there and then back to the penguins since brittany mentioned them. The show that i was talking about on netflix is called penguin town. And it's so good. I highly recommend it. And then yeah. If you haven't listened to stephen young he's been on my podcast twice. He runs a homeless ministry. Here in nashville called home. St home then lizzie velasquez. She's little lizzie. Yeah i just thankful that those episodes resonated with britney and they've stuck with her and she wanted to mention them so and then thank you britney for sharing four things that you're thankful for today. That actually came about in this inspired. I love that so many of you are putting that at the bottom of your emails now but that is from our four things gratitude journals which we also have that we make to support haiti. And it's just about you don't have to have a journal to do it but you you can just write in a notebook or on your phone like four things each day. You're thankful for or whenever you think of but if you did want to have one of our journals those are available as well and four things. Dot com is an easy way to get to any four things items. So that's just something easy to remember. A next email is from amy. Hey amy don't get a parrot. Parrots live forever. My aunt had cockatiels and eventually had to give them away or create a guardian for them. After she passed away they lived with her for more than thirty years before she resumed them. They are messy and live so long. Go for a higher turnover parakeet for kids. I'll adly give you my two parakeets that my daughter got in high school in his now in college so i have two parakeets. Otherwise i'm on board with all of your bird adventures. Amy which i appreciate the honest feedback like it's good to know my signed wants a parrot and i obviously have been obsessed with birds since late last year and i would love to have a bird in the home but i ever has one. And that's how right he and so my neighbor across the street. She sits outside on her patio with our parrot like pets. It and so whenever. I'm on facetime with stevenson i would. I want to see the parrot and so he's like no way and so i would show i. You know i show him. And then i don't know maybe i made it to normal because that's not normal. Is that normal to win a pair. It no till. I have a parrot that sits on your lap outside. I don't know i hope. So because that's what i want. Do this normal. I don't know. I wanted to like snuggle. They snuggle oh. I thought it like stays in the cage. I don't know i heard. They can be very and they can like they rub their head up against your folder. Like hey i don't know i don't wanna like romanticize having a bird because amy here the email me feel that way but yeah have strong opinions one way or the other But which. I'm keeping tally. So send me your strong opinions. Listen i have strong opinions weekly health so my mind can be changed like one day. I might be like okay. Yes we're getting this bird but if y'all tell me otherwise might need to look into getting another bird. I feel like i will thoroughly research it. I would love to rescue a bird if it needed to be rescued like an older one we have. There's probably lots of if anyone's looking to rehome a really calm as invert amazing bird. That loves the snuggle and talk but not too much then. Hit me up. Like i'd love to hear from you for things with amy ron. Gmail.com is how you can find me on next. email is from courtney. Hey amy i'm behind on your podcast so you may have already touched on this before. But i've been hearing a lot about the importance of magnesium do you have a daily magnesium supplement that you take recommend well first of all according not a doctor not a nutritionist or anything so definitely consult someone like that if you really feel like you need to implement like a supplement into your life what i will just say that i would say to any friend is that i've just started taking calm again which i used to take a long time ago. It's this powder form that you take. I take it at night and definitely forgot about it for a while but my sister was told to start taking it to help her get some rest and deal with like some anxiety stuff that she was having and it reminded me that i had some of my cabinet. So i busted it out. And i've been back on it and it has magnesium citrate and it there's different forms of magnesium..

"Your podcast and listening to the bobby bones show. Ps my son is starting to talk right now in his favourite new thing is pointing out and saying bird. I thought you'd appreciate that. Your friend. Jamie and dayton ohio. Which amy i feel like i get this question a lot so much so that i had cat defatta on recently. My therapist friend. That has a podcast called. You need therapy. And she talked about how to find a therapist. It was actually in a fifth thing episodes if you go back a couple of weeks ago. It's a fifth thing. It's titled. Amy shares care frontier nations skorts therapy and more. So that's the title of the episode. Which i guess. Yeah cat and i did talk about like our favorite denim shorts for the summer and yes. She bought a pair of skorts from like american eagle or which. Mary's like a fashion person. I don't know our skorts back. I think so okay. I remember having a pair of yellow skorts in third grade or so. And i used to wear them with this white shirt. That had a red roller skate on it with yellow wheels. I remember everything about this outfit. Because i loved it and i would wear all the time and i had spent the night at my friend. Kristen lease house and she lived in my neighborhood. And i left that outfit there and her burned down. Oh my gosh it's going. I know very random. Tragic like it was awful. They lost everything and was because of a lamp timer. It like exploded or win. I don't know gore caused some short and just like where's my score. It's no. I felt awful for them but it was. I did lose my yellow skorts and my roller skate shirt. I would wear all the time. But of course like i didn't care about it at all other than that's my memory of my job. My brain works like just now. I saw skorts. I didn't even think of that when i was talking to cat. For whatever reason. I just thought of it just now. The on that episode. Yeah we do breakdown how to go about finding a therapist and yes can also broke down the care frontier. Actually it was an episode. We were talking about how mary had called me out on something that as a friend and a caring loving way. And that's when cat gave us a name for that. She said that ed place where she used to work they would sit down and go around and it was almost like a like a work activity like okay care for tation time like confront your core whatever you need to talk about today and it was like yes. Sometimes you have to like confront things in a caring loving way. So hopefully that episode is helpful for you jamie and then i recommend you. Maybe just listening to cats podcast. As well. she probably has other episodes with helpful information and Hopefully you'll be able to find a resource or someone good for you soon. All right four the email is hey amy this past november i had surgery for an invasive though thankfully benign mass in my brain at twenty four years old. This wasn't a turn that i anticipated. Having to take at this point in my life but thankfully after several long months of weighing my options and consulting with neurosurgeons. I had the procedure. And i'm now fully recovered while i don't know the details of what you and your family are going through this last fall and winter knowing that you were handling difficult times and listening to your candidate counts about the lack of sunshine and roses in that moment really helped me feel less isolated. During that time. Hearing the stories of other amazing listeners overcoming their own difficult obstacles on the fifth thing was and continues to be an inspiration to become a better version of myself as well. I feel a special appreciation closeness for the four things family because truly feels like family these last few months even though we've never met i'm currently in graduate school in working towards becoming a researcher to better understand and promote intergenerational relationships. You and chase have discussed before that. Sometimes you just have to put yourself out there and send an email. Well i'm taking your advice and reaching out for a favor. I'm in the process of collecting data for my dissertation which focuses on the grandparent grandchild bond. And i wanted to see if you could plug my survey on four things. I know this is a complete long shot but it would be a tremendous help. And as i've learned from you can't hurt to ask. The survey can be taken by both grandparents and grandchildren. Even adult grandchildren and all responses will be anonymous. I'm hoping to have people participate from all fifty states and plan to use the information to create programs that strengthen grandparent grandchild relationships across the country. This survey can be found on my website. Abigail stephan dot com. And i'll just spell it. Because honestly i'm not one hundred percent sure but it's like stefan but abigail ab g. a. I l. s. t. e. p. h. a. n. And you can rewind if you need to hear me. Say that against you get it right. Because this is someone from our four things fam- that is working on her dissertation and would like somebody from all fifty states. And i am so sorry abby. I don't know if. I said this abby from south carolina but i'm so sorry that you had to go through brain surgery. I'm super happy to hear that you're now recovered and i'm so glad that this community has helped you. During that time it continues to. And i love the you decided to shoot your shot. I mean you're right. It can't hurt. And while i can't promise that listeners. From all over the country will for sure. Take your survey. I'm gonna personally pledge to do it. So at least give you the state of tennessee california's covering mary's going to do it. So now we've got tennessee and california so we got forty eight states to go. Oh mary is going to be in hawaii later this month. Technically i could get hawaii. Yeah yeah i've ever do. Yeah so maybe that will help. I had an email. I think last week from a listener in canada. So maybe we take this survey international again abbey. I have no idea. And i've clicked on it and i'm just going to give a heads up like it is a survey you're going to have to like pay attention to you. Have to agree to the terms which honestly it was a lot of reading to do. But abby said you'll be anonymous. And i trust her so i just agreed to terms so it seems simple enough and i only had i mean for some people. It might take more time if you have like four living grandparents right now but i only ever knew one grandparent like one biological grandpar- was alive when i was alive. What about you mary. Well i had all four for a very short period of time. But i was really close to one but i had realized for like until college and then actually have one grandma still alive. But she has severe alzheimer's says she. It's not quite the same but She does she ever find a home for her cat. Yes oh yeah. The cat is happy with the newlywed couple. And they love was his name again. Frank tim toby. What was the name. No funding idea. The cat had found a home. I just bring it up. Because there was a time where mary and i were considering my dad taking on the cat so backstreet. My grandma lived in a house and had a caretaker live with her and then it just got too much for the caretaker. She actually at two caretakers and then so she went to like eleven facility homeplace and she had a cat which the cat could dot co there so which. She didn't remember that she had to get every time the cat would show up. She'd be like why can't hear like every i'm laughing she it's it's not i mean what is the guy's name. Oh my gosh. So anyways we had to find a home for the cat. And yeah amy at one point was thinking about taking it possibly for your dad and the hospital. I know which update here. That i'll just say is i think we may be found to share a cat if you've been following cat gate quite the process. We think we've found a cat and it's actually in california near mary. So we're gonna probably be flying to california at the end of the month to get the cat and the murray flying back with the cash. If you're on a flight from orange county international you hear lots of meowing the whole flight rally is probably us also to..

I love hearing where you are all from and so many of you are now signing your emails with your location. So it's fun to see different parts of the country. So far we've had texas and then ohio and then now canada pretty cool and you know i get that. You're struggling similar to the last email. It is hard to go through times that caused us grief and pain and frustration. But i want you to feel your feelings. That's what cat defatta my friend. That's therapist who comes on the podcasts. From time to time she literally has a shirt and a coffee mug. This feel your feelings. Whatever they are in the moment. Make sure you're feeling all of them but definitely i don't like to stay stuck in those moments so yeah well may be a reminder for you to try to choose joy it's not lost on me. That completely sucks. Susan from georgia all right susan. I checked out penguin town. After i saw your email and it is the cutest thing now. It's not a documentary like a you know an hour and a half long movie type situation. This is actually episodes. So it's cool. Because i feel like i have more to look forward to. I've only seen episode wine. And i'm already in love with the little pink wins and the other characters. I've never really seen a documentary. Done this way at all when i was even searching it up before i decided to watch it because i was just researching. What in the world it was about. This article had just been written a day ago and the title was penguin. Town is the best new netflix's show that you need to watch now. So i would say especially if you have kids. This is something that y'all could watch together. And i also got another d m. I think it was a d m from someone. sorry. I can't credit the source. But i just remember seeing it and making a mental note and they were telling me to also watch planet of the birds which is on nat geo and disney plus also has it. I think is also about penguins. So i haven't watched that one yet but just throwing it out there in case anybody else wants something to watch with the family or you happen to be into penguins and birds and i can't recommend penguin town enough again. I'm only one episode in but it is very cool and when the penguins are wet and drying off their little feathers and how it looks like little for. It's like a cutest thing now. I need to go somewhere where i can hang out with penguins because while i do have a bird feeder and have visitors in my backyard. Definitely don't have penguins at all. And i think that's something that i have now added to. My bucket list is hanging out with penguins somewhere. I mean i don't have to touch them or scare them away. But i just want to see them do their thing because it's very cool. I love how much y'all want to share about birds with me and something else. That's cool on instagram. Is when y'all tag me in bird pictures like if you are interacting with a bird or you see a bird or you're feeding yourself. I love seeing those. So radio is how you tag me and hopefully i will see them. They definitely brighten my day. And i know cody mentioned are four things gratitude journal a couple.

I don't know when that day will come mean she's fourteen so we're just kind of feeling some stuff out but she has adopted she's only been in america three and a half years so she's a little bit behind thank goodness socially and emotionally and stuff like that so even though she's fourteen i don't feel like i'm dealing with what some other parents a fourteen year olds might be dealing with. You know what i'm saying. So they've over that. But the gab. Wireless it looks kind of like an iphone. So it's not like a cheesy kid. Phone look childish and i think that that's helpful because you you know a fourteen year old doesn't want to be embarrassed. They're cute little like frog zone. That can call three people you know like she's or like what we is like a brick nokia walkie-talkie well. I didn't even what i had. When i when i was a pager. A we didn't even have you wanna picture. Talk about something that mary and i put together and we put a lot of work into the merchandise that we make whether it is for pimp enjoy or four things or a spa or the new que. Bueno stuff like we. We put a lot of work into that. And it's not lost on me that y'all are hearing it and not really getting a visual of it and you're trusting that it's gonna be good and then you take the time to go to your computer and either go to radio dot com or you go to shop dot com or you go to four things dot com or the shop. I was in texas this last weekend for my dad's funeral and i got to pass out the que bueno shirts to a lot of my family. And if you aren't familiar with that story. I have a post up on my instagram. Scholarship fund could be a great father's day gift for someone in your life or actually all cold at items under s blah normally. They support haiti. But for this father's day in honor of my dad. We've shifted everything supporting his scholarship fund. So we can build that up and helped send kids to college or at least give scholarships so that we can build that up and give scholarships to kids in rural areas. That would like an opportunity to go to college because my dad is someone that wouldn't have gone to college. If it wasn't for scholarships and the reason why it's kim we know is he was fluent in spanish. She always said that again. I told you could go read about the post. But it's like i can't help myself. I have to talk about it but it was really cool to pass those out and it's been really cool to see all of y'all and support it but if you do have fathers day shopping to do just wanted to encourage you and you know crystal sharing that email and being such a happy customer makes us feel good because she likes shirt. "Beautiful in your life the thing is she. Does this sometimes pick a new hobby and then just stays with it for like three months. I've been with us for a minute. The never goes back to it ever again painting on the easel up. still guns. yeah. That was a long time ago. Still it was for a minute. You're writing or guitar along. The list goes on. I know but y'all for me puzzles. Birds are here to stay like this is the new me or the old you. I think it's the older you so even my quote today is about birds found this one purposefully because i thought it was fitting and it's firm. Charlie ward all from his book understanding and building confidence. And here's what charlie said. A bird sitting on a tree is never afraid of the branch breaking because it's trust is not on the branch but on its own wings. So hopefully that is something that you all can use to help. Build your confidence. It might be a book that i need to check out. I literally just googled bird quotes and that was one of my favorite ones and then i came upon his book. And i'm like well. Maybe now i need to read this book all right i. E mail izza from brian. Hey amy listener here. I know you think you're talking mostly to women. But i listen every week. This wanted you to know. But i'm gonna keep this short and to the point. I saw your post on instagram about a hummingbird feeder. That you wear on your head. And i'm not sure if he posted where to get it. I saw it. And then i wasn't on instagram for few days and the story expired. Can you email me the link. I needed to buy that for my wife. She is obsessed with hummingbirds. Your friend brian which just wanted you know signing at your friend to prove that i listened all the time. Oh and i'm from california. More proof that i listen. All the time brian. Thank you for that shoutouts all the guys that are listening okay brian. Yes my new hummingbird feeder helmet confluence of. Mary arrived at my house. And i had posted a picture of the other day but then posted a video so the video actually might still be on my instagram stories. I guess it depends honestly when you're listening to this in case you're listening to this and it's not up their radio. Amy is where you can find it in the stories and i linked swipe up but you can also go to heat stick dot com the website. Were mary found it. And honestly i don't know what all they make. I think there's some candle situation that's why it's heat. Stick dot com. If you scroll down past the candle thing you'll see the hummingbird feeder situation and it's supposed to be the most intimate experience with a and. I can't wait to see if it actually works. I kind of wish. They made other intimate experience helmets for all kinds of birds. Because that would be amazing. And maybe they do. I just don't have one yet. I think mary just randomly googling hummingbird feeder helmets and came across this. And i'm not sure if he gets a lot of orders but he personally called. Mary was asking her how she heard about them and she said she just searched it up and found them so anyway i think this guy he makes them himself and he was so excited to have the order so brian. I'm sure he will be equally as excited to get the order from you for your wife so super thoughtful gift and anybody out there that wants to get it for someone in their life or maybe for yourself who knows but you also maybe wanna wait for me to review it. I haven't actually put it on and gone outside and had any sort of experience yet but it is still a cool gift to give somebody if this is something they would be into. And you never know never know what. Kind of humming verdicts variances. We're going to start having but either way i mean who knows. I don't even know if. I really get hummingbirds in my backyard. So tvd tv. But brian heat stick dot com is where you can find it and you're super thoughtful.
