"Night at the Amway stadium in Orlando, where we were with my producer, Jeff, and it was touching moment, you could hear the emotion Sarah Huckabee Sanders voice, a bittersweet moment. That was her last official duty as press secretary, the president after three and a half years of being a true warrior, Princess on the front lines. Who could step into that woman shoes? I don't know. But it's been very enjoyable watching the deal with a billion Jim Acosta, why. Is he ashamed of his Hispanic heritage, I really don't know because look it up. He was born a billion but he calls himself, Jim. Tut. Tut. Tut Abilio be proud of your heritage and Sebastian Gorka, this American. I we broadcasting from the Heritage Foundation the center of the universe. If you are a conservative, and I'm very excited to have with me, a former colleague now, he is with the Heritage Foundation. Jab step men who publishes regularly, the daily signal Jarrett. Welcome to America. I thank you so much. I do a lot of public speaking for conservative audiences. And more and more in recent months, wherever I am in the country. I get asked the same question and I don't have a good answer because I'm not a legal scholar. I'm not a historian like yourself, and they asked me about the threat to the electoral college, I need our listeners to hear from somebody who knows of what they speak. Let's thought at the beginning, why did the founding fathers not created? I wrecked democracy, but a Republic based upon the electric current college jazz step that -solutely what they were trying to create a stable system to elect, our chief executive in this country. And they wanted to create a broad based set of opinion, they were afraid that maybe one faction in one place at one time would become dominant. They were frayed of things like majoritarianism, these are things that could lead to tyranny and something that they were always afraid of these are things that had ruined republic's in the past. They want the United States to have a system that was very different. There was one that can protect. Individual liberty of citizens could protect that through a series of checks and balances even check on majoritarianism. How does the electoral college prevent mob rule? Because that's really what we're talking about. Yes. Absolutely. Because spreads out our elections through the state so that France, a farmer in Iowa has voice in our presidential election system, just as somebody working Silicon Valley in California. And I think it really adds that there's a slight advantage to the smaller states within that system. I think there's this misnomer out there that everything in our country. Must be decided by fifty percent plus one vote all the urban centers. Absolutely. I mean, do you really want elections being decided entirely by New York City by Los Angeles. That's something that founders, I think rightly feared, I think they want as I said they wanted to create a broad based system where you had to have opinions from all over this country. The diverse opinions selecting the divers diversity of America's ironic with the left who. Says there about diversity. They on they're the ones challenging in multiple states, the whole electoral college. So talk to us about how serious these challenges are. And what is the democrat party? What is the radical left trying to do to the electric colleges for the foundation of our Republic since its inception? Yeah, I think what their methods right now are particularly insidious. We have this thing called the national popular vote compact, which, again, if you don't think that the electoral system is great or correct, you try to pass a constitutional amendment. That's what the founding fathers created to change our system with this does that creates a compact of states, trying to up end that system and make it go to essentially, a national popular vote to go around the electoral college to go around the cost-shift system. I like to remind people that even somebody like Ruth, Bader Ginsburg, certainly not a friend of conservatives, or necessarily, originalism, constitutionalism said that she didn't like electoral college. What she thought the only way to get rid of is through a constitutional amendment. This national popular vote compact, duh. Doesn't do that. They try to get around. That's how, how would this work? How does the compact do an end run around a constitutional amendment jets? So the compact says that essentially, once they hit two hundred seventy electoral votes, including all these states of the past, essentially, it will go into effect right at that moment. So all they have to do is get two hundred seventy votes. Basically a majority of electoral college to put this in effect, and attach the state's electoral college votes to the national popular vote, which, of course, is an end run around our constitutional system. And I do think as fortunate now that there are some legal challenges to this. I know that you watch has now filed a legal challenge in Colorado to this system. But it does represent a threat because now we have sixteen states, plus the district of Columbia that have signed onto this. This is serious chatted stem this, this is very serious. This is a serious challenge to our cost to show system, which has been in effect over two centuries. This is not a minor league movement is picked up steam, especially in the wake of the twenty sixteen. Election. There have been setbacks, I think very fortunately recently in Nevada, and Maine has as well where the Nevada governor who is a democrat actually said, this is not represent the interests of the people Nevada whose, whose voices will be buried, if we go to a national popular vote. So is this is that where it is challenges in the courts and the governor's level? What how do we respond as those who wish to see the diversity of opinion rural America representatives much as urban America? What, what is the defense mechanism that right now? This is America first and here's your host, Dr so fast. Tune gorka. The president was on fire. They in Orlando, the Amway stadium. It's incredible. He actually has more energy as continues. Have you looked at the photographs of presidents on the day of inauguration and then four years, and then eight years, eight look at George Bush look at Obama, the age about twenty five years, don't Trump? I think is getting younger. It's.

"Night in the Amway stadium for the launch of his twenty twenty reelection campaign? We on broadcasting from the very end propo- Heritage Foundation, the center of the conservative movement with a live audience, who I've been instructed by my producer are allowed to be noisy and allowed to clap. Thank you guys. Thank you. This amazing is that you for the work of calls James and her team. One of the key team members a friend of mine for years is none other than James Califano, Mr. national security. Did you watch the rally last night, teaching last night? Well, really okay. That's this is more people than show from my wedding. This is Stephanie more people that showed up any relevant of ten, what was it the NRA, they tweeted out, eighteen people showed up to Eric soils protests of the NRA, and maybe sixteen of them were staffers. So welcome everybody. Thanks for joining us today, being so well behaved, but now you can be raucous, and no spitballs spills last night. There was Cuba. We just played you from what he actually looked at Lindsey Graham, who was there in the VIP's. You know, we might find those emails, linzie basement of the State Department can come like that, from a commander in chief have national security ramifications, political ramifications, the real world, James Canafa, no know, the president's really unconventional stays on the statement of the century. The world's kinda woken up to and people. Realized two things, which we learn, we worked on the transition team in and watch industry. Any he is actually an incredible. And you know, because you work with him. He is an incredibly serious person. Right. Because he this larger outside percent of people think that's kind of it and underneath there is a guy pushing the button. Right. And the trick with Trump is to get underneath, and see the guy pushing the buttons, and then you can make sense of all this. Right. Sometimes it's Kappen competent. Good Cup bag cut cut deal and sometimes other thing, but, but this man really knows what he's doing. We had great example, going on now in the Persian Gulf with are just distraught. At had how to push back against Trump and, and people are frustrated because you've ministration actually responded. In contrast. For example, remember Ukraine. Right. And the Ukrainians sweet in and they the Russian sweet. And they did this thing in the Crimea are bad. We knew for months that, that the Russians were going to do that. He didn't do anything. We were like during the headlights this time because this president, not only smart guy. He learns we knew that the Iranians we're gonna try something, the president nounce it to the world. He pre-positioned assets in the region, where set the Iranians are already checkmated and everybody's stunned. So you mean drawing red lines, then doing nothing about I district, Egypt James kaffa depends? I mean, I think red lines are cool and these basketball carts, they worked fine. You know that really serious business here. Anyway. President was having fun. Oh, come on, you probably heard this story right? He goes to the speech, given the speech and everybody's sitting there and he goes nobody's listed in the speech. And then he just lock them up. You don't really search Jared, right? Build a wall. Everybody's happy tend to guys because I've seen it. I've watched other toughest job outside of being the president is because I've watched this guy at work in the rose garden. It's the kid who has the big knob. Rahman's the teleprompter. Because he's got the screen and he's controlling the text for the president, making sure that the president is seeing that of the speech that he has to say next and this president. I mean, he, he goes off speech for most of the stuff and the guy is going to come back now do it. Slow it down. That's a tough job yesterday. Most of the really epic things he said, but nothing to do with his thing. He does this because he is a genuine person. And he goes there, and they wanna see the person they elected who is in your face. This is who I am. And he does that to remind them that he has not changed since he came to Washington. This is incredibly important, or we're going to talk more about this with James found the Heritage Foundation. I shared this with my audience before we started the show. It's the connection the authenticity. This is what Ron Reagan hat. It's Donald Trump has we will continue this discussion with James we aren't the Heritage Foundation. I'm Sebastian Gorka. "The forty fifth president of the United States yesterday of the Amway arena in Orlando. My producer missed the Jeff we were in the pits right in front of the president. We have the press pulses, but we couldn't wait to escape from the press pen and be amongst the American people. It was an incredible evening, and that official announcement, the president is launching his reelection campaign with safe for the end and let me tell you, I've done a lot of things in my life that allowed. I've taken the muffler off my v. Eight engine. At idea. I've gone to a lot of gun ranges lost night was the loudest. I have ever heard human beings be on multiple occasions might drums with strained. It was electric the building was fueled by passion for this country for the principles of this country for the love of this country. And it tells you that you cannot believe what I call the fake news, industrial complex that would have you believe that any one of the leading candidates of the democrat party are, in fact, capable of defeating this president right now polls who believes in polls anymore. I don't as a reminder, what did the polls, tell us on them age twenty sixteen? They told us that Hillary Clinton with a more than ninety percents thirty chewed would become the president. She did not, what better place to recount to you. The events of yesterday and to analyze the five hundred and two days left in the campaign, can you believe five hundred and two days left then to be where we are today? We in the mother ship of the conservative movement. I am so excited to be invited by Kay Coles James, the president of the Heritage Foundation and in front of a live. Live audience. We are broadcasting all three hours of America first from the beautiful headquarters of the Heritage Foundation. We have incredible guests from the Heritage Foundation. We'll be joining us all through the show and also the senior White House correspondent for the one American us who interviewed me last night from the Orlando stadium will be with us for an excellent. But I, I must say with you. A couple of personal stories. I wanted to get out of the press pen and with some help from the campaign stuff we did, so and we mingled amongst the American people. Lots of southeast. We'll take an allegedly. The news coverage also caught us in the crown, we were on TV screens across the nation. But this to people, I want to introduce you to one was, I'll just called Christina. And she came up to me as on the floor of the stadium in a wonderful shirt that she afterwards admitted she had made herself, which said, nurses for Trump. It was red white and blue this lady professional nurse had just come off a twelve hour night shift seven PM to seven AM had come straight to the Amway stadium. In the Orlando heat at eight AM and waited for the PR. Resident for the next twelve hours. This woman regaled me with stories about how. It's tough to be a supporter of the president in our industry, eight years of her colleagues being able to walk around with Obama shirts bomb. Hats Neria would was said you congratulated. But if you say anything about this president, you could pay penalty, but this woman is prepared to push back in resplendent and she had a Fox News hats on as well. She was prepared to say this is our time. The speech we have incredible cuts from the speech was ninety five percent positive about what has been achieved and what will be achieved. But when it comes to the twenty twenty elections, they was a dunk moment. And that duck moment came when the president shed with us want could happen if the left wins and it's very simple summary. It doesn't matter what issue is of greatest import to you is the economy, is it paying less taxes. Is it single business flourishes? It feeding safe is at securing the boarder is being in control of your health care is freedom of speech, not just for you. But for your children on university campus is in high schools. It doesn't matter what the issue is pro-life pick one on every single issue of import to Americans. We are threatened. And just think about the supreme court as a defining moment. For those who criticise me, I speak. I just came from a congressional event just before I came to pitch when anybody ever says to me oh, but what about his tweets? I tend to get a little bit angry tweets. Let me talk to you about tweets. Let's put your problems with his tweets on one side of a scale, you know, there's old scales, the real ones the two pans. That's put the president's social media style on one pan. And on the other Neal Gorsuch, and Justice cavenaugh now talk to me about social media as my friend, Hugh Hewitt says. We have whatever the issue is, we have dispositive proof. It's I learned the word this positive from Hugh. He has a great vocabulary. Dispositive proof that the president is a true conservative just because Neal Gorsuch, an associate Justice Cavanaugh are on the supreme court bench. Don't talk to me about social media talk to me about the supreme court, and what would have happened if somebody else had become the forty fifth president the second story when I will hope to do Justice to we are waiting for an Uber. Don't try and wait for muga when fifty thousand people trying to leave a stadium and for ten blocks the roads have been cut off took a long time. We ended up in a pot of Landau that we were told we shouldn't be in. And a colored officer came to us from his patrol car, which is sitting at the intersection, and he said, let me walk you to your pickup point. You don't wanna be here alone. Thank you officer. And in that short walk a call him officer, David. I saw America, the best of America. This man escaped Haiti at the age of eleven his parents came first, then they saved money to bring his sister, his brother, and then finally him, and he said to me, he recognized me and he said, if anybody complains to me about this country, I have no time for them. And he summarized his attitude thusly, and I think my audience, they have to would be very well behaved can appreciate what officer Dan said to me. I would rather go back to Haiti than vote democrat. I think that's a pretty good endorsement of the United States of America. John bless you officer, Daniel. Keep doing what you do quietly, because he has to be very cautious. About his free speech is free speech is an American who has been serving this nation for twenty years in uniform. Born in Haiti. I'm Sebastian Gorka. Those are just two stories from last night, we have many, many more to shut shut and great audio from the people, we spoke to this is America. I understand what coast to coast across the nation more than three hundred stations affiliates and sundry platforms. Include the issues podcast app and broadcasting live video,.
