'Weird Al' Yankovic mocks presidential debate in 'We're All Doomed'

"I'm not a big, weird out Yankovic fan. I don't dislike him. But a lot of people go crazy for my favorite thing is what he did with Hamilton. Okay. Remember that? Yes, yeah. My favorite song of his grown up was Amish Paradise, which was a take on Gangsta's paradise. But I just don't go crazy for this morning. I saw something that he just did. That was quite funny. It's a parody of Tuesday night's presidential debate, which went super smooth. That's called America is doomed the musical and it went online yesterday. So this video features weird Al Yankovic moderating the debate between President Trump and Joe Biden. A little different, though, than a typical weird out parody because he is singing along with President Trump former vice President Joe Biden, thanks to the auto tuning expertise of the Gregory Brothers, so the Gregory brothers or the guys on YouTube who became famous with doing auto tune Spoofs. They do auto tune The news like the bed Intruder? Yeah, So So he teams up with these guys to sort of do a mock up of the debate, so we'll do about a minute of it. And at the beginning, it's weird. I'll having a bit of a nervous breakdown, and then he gathers himself. Andan. At one point, he realizes he's reading the script upside down for the first question, and then flips it. So here a little bit of him and then a little bit of the candidates. People are breathing out this living poison It kind of floated into my or like I lost my car. "Top five all time. Trump says that guns and roses November rain is the greatest video of all time, so I disagree. Do you? I disagree hard. I never would have thought that. And so we're asking you What is the great video? I will tell you this, actually, no whining. I'm going have to screen grab this, Although I hate doing this, because then I have to delete things and blah, blah, blah. But if our call screen is any indication, it's it's not even closest to what is the greatest music video of all time because all six calls on the line are mentioning the same one. Yeah. Which is remarkable to me, actually, but Shawn and Adam gets tohave it first a Sean, welcome to RKO. Well, so I see where this is going to be. So how about I'll change it out? Let me go to the worst person. The worst video anything with weird Al Yankovic. The guy should be flogged. No, like, um, no horrible, horrible human. Being that never could know would see him and I couldn't hear in the gentle fast enough. But the his video for this this remember that Michael Jackson song bad. Michael Jackson did sort of ending gang fight The Jets and the Sharks kind of thing. Remember, we're now yank of ex parody of that it was called Fat. And he had the that video was actually money. He wasn't like the big chicken wing and I thought turning up will be the first big Amish paradise. Kwan was great about Nirvana's one he did for never mind when he it's hard to gargle Narvel vou with marbles in your mouth. That was one of the lines he had Kurt Cobain's. I don't really like him either. To be honest with you. I'm thinking less of you that you even know these. I don't I'm naturally obviously, I'll be completely honest with you. I'm not the biggest Al Yankovic van in the world. Not hardly. But his videos were better than the songs I would say and for some of us again, I didn't like this on gangster's paradise. So when now yank evicted the Amish paradise. It didn't do that much for me, except that Julio got really pissed at Al Yankovic for making light of his song in the video, and that always amuse me like why would you care what Alya convict does with your song, but that became a big thing. And so I I came a little bit of credit there. That's all. I missed that whole kerfuffle. Thank God. So I will be the first. Michael Jackson. I graduated high school in 88. So Michael Jackson videos where the thing I mean, everyone try to make the videos almost happens good as his And Thriller was was the best and it was just great fun. You know, I really I'm not the biggest fan of all the stuff. You know the other stuff. He did, but you gotta hand made great videos. So there's two things I was saying that one reason why it's not in my top five.

"That is that is so I remember it now. That is so funny I love it. I love it so Usa Today also says. I just mentioned Amish Paradise and Then they they jumped over to dance videos. Evidently Jack Black has a tick tock that where he dances. Have you seen that share? Yes yes I can imagine. He does it shirtless to. He doesn't shirtless. I figured yeah. And he's wearing. He's wearing like nineteen eighty spandex shorts. Perfect they also have some TV scenes that they say will you up. One is Michael Scott's movie threat level midnight from the office also when Monica figures out. Where phoebe grandmother really got her cookie recipe from on friends and Chris and Andrew. Cuomo sniping at each other on CNN. I've never seen that stand up bits. Here's the one that I'm going to throw out. They have three. That are listed here. I I don't remember any of them. One of them is questionable language. So kids couldn't hear it but John Pinette the exit. The late John Pinette the Chinese buffet. If that doesn't make you laugh I don't know what well nothing will make you laugh. It's just as folks go and Google John Pinette the Chinese put Fay. He did it for us in the studio one morning. God I missed that guy so much. I know we need to break here. And then we'll come back with some more of these before we break. This is weird. Al's offers walked through the harvest migraine. I take my wife angry allies but that's just perfect or like me. You know I- Sunday thirty. In the morning milking cows Jebediah chickens plow to. I've been milking and thousands even think you'll save my mind is gone. Man Overland discipline got a Bible in my hand appeared on my didn't finish all my chores and that we're GONNA party like a sixty ninety dollars spoke. We'll be right back sharing quarantine contact us. Leave a message at one eight eight Jerry. If you're just joining US WE'RE LOOKING AT USA. Today suggestions on how to Pull up some things that'll make you laugh. We just played weird Al's Amish Paradise Just before we go to the next thing do you know that in Pennsylvania? They now have places where Amish people can be checked for the virus by pulling up with their horse and buggy guide. That's ripe okay. So now we're going to go to some bits that make you laugh. These are skits and one of them and I agree with this. Is the Saturday night. Live skit with the van down by the river. Do we have it yet? Hang on I thirty years ago that that thing had so. They brought that back several times didn't they they did. It always ended up with him falling on a photo table and crushing. Yeah that's right and the best thing about it. It was. He always did it with David spade in the scene and Dave speed could never ever keep it together. Because Chris Farley just went so over the top every time and that was never encouraged never is encouraged on Saturday night. Live to laugh at whatever is going on but that was really hard. Not to not to Giggle Impressions there's so many impressions that will make you laugh and one of them. Is Kate McKinnon as Justin beaver on Saturday night live? Do you remember that one. She does an amazing Justin Bieber. Well she's a she. Can you know? Look at all of the politic male political characters and Female Hillary Clinton. She had her down right and movie moments. The news team fight from Anchorman. Two that had me like on the floor. I was completely. I hadn't seen anchorman two since it first came out and I watched again not long ago and his masterpiece. It really is a masterpiece. At least that scene is Derek confronts his father in zoo. Lander I don't I don't remember that you see. Did you watch Lindor? Kind of not a Bob. Kind of a movie nell masterpiece of course but what you're saying. Yeah so so. What are some other ones that we could pitch in the cowbell thing from Saturday night? Live I think is always funny. Kevin watched young Frankenstein again for the first time in a million years and I had forgotten. How like rolling on the floor? Funny that is that whole movie. If you've never seen young Frankenstein. Starring Gene Wilder and Marty Feldman and who else regard jury. Girls are coarsely. Chapman if you've never it's a black and white movie but I promise you if you've never seen before you won't regret the time you spent it's hilarious movie. That's up to the test of time. That's another one is blazing saddles talking about Mel Brooks. That's that thing is hysterical. The history of the world. I think that didn't quite make it. That was another one of his movies and that one was a bit of a reach but what what are some other things that would cheer people up that you know? Maybe we've forgotten in the past. I think some of the old tonight show Monologues by Johnny Carson are worth. You can pull them up. You know very very easily and you get kind of a peek back into America's top late night show host. Nobody's ever going to replace him. I was about to toss it to the Max but I've been watching reruns of the office and comfort food. That will go with your friends. It's Bob and shit sign up for the newsletter and get exclusive updates pictures and much more from our four bunker locations. It's Bob and Jerry tell you things earth really different when you're confined to your house. My wife is right now. I'm looking out the window. And she's talking with this dude who just pulled up in a white pick-up truck and he's the guy that I hired to humanely. Get rid of the moles in my yard. And so he's checking the mole traps and my wife is evidently interviewing him about his mold trapping career now. That's something neither one of us would have got involved with if if we been in the house and she's and she's fascinated with what this guy is doing and I know what she's asking him she's saying do you really take them to another place in turn them loose you kill them and I know he's defending what he's doing even though I can't hear any of this it's the strangest thing okay. So here's something that I just have to get out because I was really surprised. This is from Rolling Stone magazine. I for some reason. Sherry does not like the edge of seventeen song by Stevie Nicks even though I adore and worship my Queen Stevie Nicks. What is it about that song you don't like? I don't know I'll tell you what else I don't like is leather and lace. I don't know I don't like that one either but I'd like the edge of seventeen. Maybe it's because I saw once documentary on her and she was about to come on stage and the band had started that that guitar. Riff that goes on so long at the beginning of it and they followed her walking with her father as she left the dressing room while the playing that and then gets ready to take. The stage was really dramatic. I and I just liked the song so anyway. What are the lyrics? Just like the white winged dub sings a song like she sing. Ooh ooh ooh well guess what? That was a complete lie. That song came out in nineteen eighty. One that's a long time ago and yet stevie has just now revealed to rolling stone that she never heard the song of a dove white winged or any other way a few days ago. She admitted she finally heard it. She heard one singing outside her window and managed to go outside and get a video of it and the Doug. The dove did indeed deliver the patented three. Ooh Ooh Ooh just like the song. That must've been listened to where she came up with the lyric. She said after I heard it I started to cry the dove head come here to watch over me. So where did Stevie next get the idea for the opening line from an airplane menu? She wrote now now. She said in nineteen eighty. I was flying home from Phoenix Arizona and I was handed a menu that said the white wing dove sings a song. That sounds like she's singing. Woo Woo.

"You know that it's not ahead because Mick Jagger Solo song as that's also I mean you just talk about stuff like better anthem you think about you know not just the flintstones which obviously a huge thing which has enormous enormous popularity it in cultural verizon's but it was well on the way to being a movie. Good point and Frank Zappa. I think there's a sense of outrageousness. Button pushing provocation. So that what he did was he kind of took all of these different influences and just kind of created this sort of superbeets to sort of like the perfect. The perfect novels almost feel bad calling him an artist. Because I feel like that is limiting. I feel like what he's done over. The course of his career is he's transcended that in a way that almost no other artists have yeah. I would agree. I'm glad you talked about how Al evolved over time a little bit because I wanted to touch on that as well. One of my favorite weird Al moments was when he guested on the simpsons. He did a guest voice on the simpsons. I think he did it a couple times and th if I remember it was right. It was his first appearance. And it is revealed in the episode. Homer of course is a weird Al Fan and that homer has been sending weird. Al His own weird Al style parody songs and all of them are food related. Did you ever get two pair? Dogs I send you yes which one was better living pizza. Lanka or another one bites decreased. They were pretty much the same vein rift being of course that Al has done himself so many food related songs. But you in some of your work identified that. Alice actually thematically moved decade by decade. Do you WanNa talk about that for a minute L. Definitely I think one of the thing that makes sort of AL unique and fascinating. He's kind of of a representation of the monoculture of this time in American history when people do the same TV shows and movies and the same songs so he kind of in the nineteen eighties when Allah merged as his main themes were television and food and that food was literally all he ate. The entire decade aid is nothing was bigger than television. You know television told us who were television sole thing to us. Television you know gave us the secrets to life and yet during that time. That was kind of AL's obsession. And then in the nineties sort of as he got older he has sort of stuff became a little more calculating a little bit more opportunistic and that was kind of his movie age. We had songs about forrest. Gump songs book Jurassic Park. You had most famously. The Saga begins which is a beloved hilarious song about one of the worst things of all time which is the plot and characters over the phantom menace and then as the ought approached that kind of began his computer itch television was supplanted by the Internet Youtube replaced. Mtv and as a result els reigning obsession became a computers and technology and the Internet and how it simultaneously makes our lives better and worse and a whole lot. More ridiculous and yeah. That's kind of been the source of a lot of his best most resonant sort of late period heads like white nerdy. Like it's all about the pentium. Call him up at home and making picks up as culture has changed to. Al Has changed with it. You know an as that. Simpson's joke also indicates this is the gag right. Is that all homers ideas for parody. Songs are terrible but it makes the point. That truly witty parodies actually hard. So what do you think makes Al's parodies in particular so effective and exceptional? I feel like with Al. There's always more than just what's on the layer or what's on the on the surface. I mean take Amish Paradise for example a part of what makes it such a Great Song. Versatile is that it's about not just a powerful song and importance to powerful coolio Song It's parodying wonder saw that song sampling. Ed again you kind of look at it rushing Dow Alameda. Ow wariness parenting something sampling something. That's representing some other thing so fascinating to me. So you kind of have this Stash Gospel Majesty to a very very silly song at that fundamentally is about religious about arrogance which is about the faithful having this piety. That's also ridiculous and that's also self absorbed arrogant.

"Catch up with listeners. And enjoy some Trivia and I'm delighted to welcome this month's special guest in the opening paragraph of his new book Nathan Raven writes about eight years ago. I received a direct message on twitter from my childhood. Hero Weird Al Yankovic. That changed my life. Al wrote that of all the writers in the world he had chosen me to tell his story unquote that book. Twenty twelve's weird al. The book made ray-ban one of the world's foremost our experts and he's just released another book the Weird Accordion to Al. That's winning raves. From Al fans worldwide. Ray-ban is a former head writer of the AV club Co host of the Travolta Cage podcast and the author of six books including both of his books about Yankovic Nathan ray-ban. Welcome to the bridge. It is an honor to be here. Let's talk about your weird Al Fandom which I have to imagine goes back quite some time right. I mean it has been my observation and I'm speaking from my own personal experience that each generation seems to discover how in their own time maybe when they hit a certain age. So when was your moment with weird old definitely definitely Al has kind of lied about that how every critic's favourite weird Al Album. The best word album is whatever was released when they were twelve years old total. Yes so I'm proud to say that I got in a little bit young. I remember jeeze the first three albums that I ever got. My Dad bought for me and these are album albums records beautiful beautiful pieces of vinyl. Were Michael Jackson's thriller Huey Lewis and the News? Sports and weird out in three collectively. This set the bar so high that no other albums possibly needed and I mean that I I still think that three D is the best album that Al has ever done and then the very first concert that ever went to was weird L. Opening for the monkey is I went in there. I was primarily a monkey's fan but my God he blew the Monkey's off stage and that similarly said the bar so incredibly high that no other concerts by non weird Al artists I could could possibly match it and yeah sort of read about this in the book but I had a giving tree relationship with al where every stage of my life and my career. He was there so when I started writing the club in the late nineties. I got to meet him back. Stage very very very exciting experience in And then yeah. He asked me to write his book about twelve years later and it was actually writing another book at the time about fishing insane clown posse the head writer of the AV club. So I should not have written this book but I could not say no toward L. Yankovic. And then yeah. He was putting out a box. Set a squeeze box a fifteen disc career spanning box it in winning the grammy for best packaging and it was so expensive but if I read a book about this than I can write it off of my taxes and ended up being this amazing amazing adventure that took three years to finish but my God. I'm so unbelievably happy and proud. That he not only the direction for it. He also fact checked it and he copied it he was so he was so mortified by my grammar by all of my word crimes he offered his services. A cunning linguist helped me distinguish proper English. What a mench very very lucky so every stage in my life weird. Al Has been there for me. That's amazing there's so much in that I relate to not least the fact that his live show is is truly amazing. I'm embarrassed omid. I've seen it twice but only in the last decade and God I've I've rarely had so much fun as I have at those two shows so in the episode. I talk not only about weird al. That's kind of the second half of my most recent hip rate episode. But I talk about antecedents to Al. I cited not just as backstory for Al Berea to talk about the history of novelty music on the charts in general and among the people I point to our Spike Jones Allan Sherman Tom Lehrer and of course doctor Demento who was not a charting artist himself but helped break people. How did AL synthesize all of these novelty music pioneers? They kind of took what was best about each of them and he learned from their example but he also learned what not to do. For example. Allan Sherman is a fascinating fascinating. Figure huge and that he was huge. Like for a couple of years there. Hello Hello Fodder three number one albums back to back to back in nineteen sixty two and sixty three and then allen kind of lost it all during this. Dione easy access is just a very careless man very connected career with how he conducted his personal life. I can't dying very very early and I think Al can learn what he learned what not to do. He learned to be careful to be cautious to be very deliberate and meticulous. And how sort of has planned and executed his career. He learned so much doctor. Demento I mean you look at and he's a TV guy obviously that's a source of a lot of his Sort of biggest had his his most most popular songs. But he's also radio guy and he has an anr's mind and our sense of not only. What will be successful? But what will endure? You know if you look at l's career he's only really ever parodied a non hate. Once and that was people.

Yeah no I had my time with weird al.. I've seen him live. But I wouldn't say that I'm a hardcore more modern weird AL person I sort of dropped off after Amish Paradise yes same. Yeah I didn't graduate from that. I don't even know what the newer ones are. But you win friends. Did you make friends. Yeah I did. I actually eventually became kind of a popular kid. I love the engine. Enjoy either upon their necks people. Hey go learn it from your Stan. I learned to. I never even thought Latino because in Spanish the male assumes everybody Eh. Yeah which I guess isn't great. Yeah but I just thought it was like yeah that is the point avenue like okay well. LET'S NOT GENDER The we've explored just caught me being one thousand nine hundred. Cool other kids parents from other places and these kids are smart and good at school and so we have to. Our parents speak a little funding and we speak to them in our home. You know their mother language and that's normal like if I if that we didn't have that I didn't have that it would have been very isolated. There were no examples of that in the media. Like you didn't feel like now it's pretty ready not normal but not unexpected if you might see something like that on. TV A kid that goes home and speak a different language to their parents. You're not like who what is yeah. Yeah Yeah so you're not even seeing yourself reflected in the media as my point so you only found that in your friends. I don't know I think it might be. Let's go and I would just watch stuff all the time on a little. VHS Tape and like I was like that's it just made me feel so good and then I enjoyed it so much that I think I was like. This is what I'm GONNA do. I relate relate to that man it was obviously a different set of circumstances but like I felt Looking back I can understand why but I didn't know at the time but I felt got something in my stomach that I was somehow like different and weird. Yeah like I think my family and I I love my family. They're fucking so weird. Yeah so weird and I think I went into school and I just saw people. They just didn't look as weird as me. And that's when you're like strikes on the Avenue Maple just tap dancing and you want the bow tie that spans and you learn the magic trick because you're kind of battling like a weird inner nerve feeling. You're trying to turn the feeling that you have. Yeah I have to imagine you got good at talking to grownups too. I mean that's a skill. If you're hanging out with all these counselor or use of teachers. Yeah your child you know you think you're giving the show to them but you're also learning how to relate to adults similar to comedy comedy. Yeah and they would be kind of off the clock so it'd be like so what's going on over here guys. What do you do after school? Yeah you file papers. I didn't really have that as I mean my sister always reading for me but in elementary school not that much because I think it was a pro kind of approach to loud and class into all over the place but in high school. I had teachers that were really like I did. Model you wine and we do you then..

"Probably back in twenty twelve I wanna say, but they're looking at Google and they're looking at Amazon, and they're looking. At apple, and they're looking at Microsoft, and this is one area where there is definitely a massive deficiency on their end. So this move is going to be big for them because they're teaming up with Microsoft to essentially take down Google's attempt to kind of take the gaming industry by storm, but it's also not really immediate and it's also very vague. They didn't really go into a ton of details about what this is going to entail. The only thing I can really think of is that they're going to constantly be looking for improve servers and all of that. Microsoft is definitely very extensive. You know, in terms of how many servers they have, and what their technology is. So it does make sense for Sony to team up with him. But it also apparently blindsided, a lot of the PlayStation team that is working on PlayStation five they actually went into a bit of a panic mode when this report came out, and like the managers and all that had. Kind of calmed down and saying, you know, this isn't really for PlayStation five this is for future use. So we probably won't see a big impact on this in this this next generation. But definitely interesting for sure. But yeah, it's, it's definitely. It's definitely very interesting, though, also if forgot to mention that Nintendo's also apparently rumored, according to a rumor that came out today. I don't know the source I meant to write it down. But I didn't. But intendo apparently is going to probably form a similar deal with Microsoft as well. Which makes logical sense just due to all the Klabin that they've had up until this point. So if anything that I take away from this news is that Microsoft has very vastly different. Look on next generation than these other systems. It's kind of. It's kind of puzzling. It's just they seem like they're going to achieve victory here in a very unconventional way that no other system, or no other console manufacturer has Mabel to do. So that's gonna be really interesting to watch it three this year. But yeah, that's, that's all I got for for that story. The next story was the Nintendo, switch. Revision rumors exploded after NVIDIA latest financial report that to me is like, I mean, the fact that Nintendo has revised or systems every single generation, they've had, whether it be with their hand held or their consul. It's like people keep coming out with these rumors and eventually, they're going to be right. So it just kinda seems like cheap new story to me, because I mean, of course, they're going to come out with a revision eventually. So I'm not really looking for them to come out with anything anytime soon. You know, some people think it's gonna come out in the summer, similar to how the three s excel came out like a week after announcement for it came out week after e-3. I don't know if that's going to be the case this time. But it'll probably be a smaller more cheap switch probably without the doc. It'll just be like a switch mini, or something like that, more of a handheld to kinda replace the void left behind when three s inevitably gets taken off the market. So nothing really too exciting with the news, besides, really those two things and even tennis which one I don't really think is all that great. So do you have any comment on that switches been out for a while price? We have heard something about having a new model for it ready. Yeah, yes, we'll just see what happens. Okay. Yeah. It's I mean like I said, it's going to be something where they just come out and keep coming out with these reports. Eventually one of them's going to be right. And they're going to be like Ossie we told you guys, it's just it's, it's kinda stupid to me, but. Okay. So we're gonna move on to the biggest topic of the day. One. The podcast name was named after. I kind of wanted to take this topic by pieces. So this is going to be about the sonic movie trailer. But I wanted to kind of talk about what happened before the sonic movie trailer back in December when some promotional shots were taken of sonic and you also had kinda like a, you know, blacked out version of the sonic figure on, like a poster type thing. Do you remember those? Yep. Just had a silhouette really of him in a one of the stances you begin race with if you're on track. Yeah. Not just an outline of and right away. Something wrong, long legs long arms just a way to his, his head looked weird too. And this is all on a silhouette form. Something was wrong immediately. Now, I think that one was bad. I think that the one where he's on the Golden Gate Bridge was even. Worse as that was just odd. You see some, some people take pictures of them at a beach, sometimes where their knees are up and they're taking pictures ocean. Something very strange about that photo. Like he's taken a picture to put on his Snapchat or Instagram or something like that. I sent it to somebody. It's like, hey, check rhyme. Check. Rahmat. Very weird whenever seen them just like, oh, God. This is like an animal animal doing these suspect things. Couldn't make sense of it. They're thinking, but he had, like, human Cavs, like his Cavs looked like human Cavs, but they were just blew like it was like we're like I don't like as soon as I saw that even before that. I actually thought this entire thing was a joke. Right. Like when they were saying. Oh, yeah. Jim Carey is gonna be doctor about Nick. I'm like, yeah. We're never gonna see that ever become a thing but see these promo shots. And I'm like this is like for real or is something not quite right here. Right. And it was real. And there was something not quite right. I just think even back then. I knew this was going to just be a freaking disaster like I'm surprised honestly got this far. Because I mean I don't know about you, but nothing. I mean nothing about those promo shots. Looked like it had any chance of like any ounce of potential at all. Just looked is strategic Yetlis look like some not to say anything, bad about film students looks like someone's kind of final project that they gotta be plus on. It's not a professional, you know, film studio presentation of a poster. Yeah, it just looks cheap the one where he's in a silhouette or the sonic in headshot. Just even even when you see the trailer when it starts. At it doesn't look very good. Just the art style is very dark, and it's not what I imagined sock to have as a as a movie title. Yeah. So you mentioned the trailer. Let's, let's hop into the trailer. It's fast forward to probably what about two weeks ago? Something like that. The world was. Was unfortunate enough to receive this abomination of, of a movie trailer? Like I don't even know where to start with this, because the sonic design is completely horrendous, like sonic is supposed to have one eyeball. Isn't that how it is? Right. Just one unoccupied. I well to people's it's like, but not separated, like he's a flounder heaven is on the sizes face. Yeah. And the, the way that he looks and like I was actually a probably a few days ago, I was thinking about. I was thinking about, like, you know, maybe the sonic designs, not that bad, like maybe people are overreacting. Maybe I overreacted, maybe this is something I'll just get used to. And it's you know it's not really a big deal, then I watched the trailer again. And it's like man, this is worse than the first time. I saw it or shots in the trailer. Some look, okay, where he's got that real close up shot and his face is like, right. Right. You know, it's a it's a close up shot. Yeah. But his face point straight at you. And he's in that stance again. What you starting to race. He looks okay there. I mean, he looks right up his nostrils which is disturbing. Yeah. Other than that he looks okay? Now the two images that are just I cannot at my head when he does that mean how thing and he screams, and then when his side profile is shown when he's talking to the, the guy in the car. Yeah. He just looked so strange. I can't get over it. Yeah. It's. It's definitely not what I imagined sonic to look like. And. And I don't know if you felt this way, but then, tire trailer, and this, this kind of there's so many other issues with it, but the entire trailer all thinking is of is weird AL's Amish paradise. It's only thing I can think of have to watch that because it's, you know, it's playing I'm pretty sure it's playing the same song as like that sought what that song is modeled after. So I'm thinking is living in Amish paradise the entire time off to watch that to compare like every time like that's like in my head. I'm just I'm singing that song. And it makes it even worse only goodness 'cause it's ruining weird house on, which is just, you know, I mean that's the biggest sin of all, but as bad as Sonics design is, and it's it's bad. I mean, it is it's got awful as bad as that is it might not be the worst part of the trailer. It can make the argument. Well, I think Dr Nick is also bomb nation. Jim Carey is completely out of his prime. He has been relevant in years, and doctorate, Batna key. Is a hefty guy? He has very thin legs. But he is a very hefty guy. Upward, right. Jim Carey's not Yemi for about an extra off with a big belly in a very classic sonic games. Very egg-shaped. Yeah. And then, you know past I guess, fifteen years he's had, like, more of a chest and kind of goes, like to AVI, but the V starts feet, which that's just weird. Anyway, I'm not a big fan of that design anyway. I kinda just wish that he was egg-shaped because I feel like that would make. Way, more sense for Dr Baden in I wanted. I'm not I'm not really a huge sonic fan. But the fact they're making this a movie, I would want doctor about Nick to not be the mask is. That's what it sounds like to me, it sounds like he's the mask, which is just a pre or or sounds like the mask or ace Ventura, either one it just doesn't Jim. Carey is good at particular roles. This one to me made. Absolutely. No sense. The cast men I feel like they could not find anybody else for this this role. I would have taken Jack black in this freaking out of an interesting, I would've taken that I mean, someone with a heftier Bill probably be easier to suspend my disbelief. When I see, Jim Carey who I'm fan of he when he starts talking to the guy at the military complex and does a little spiel. And the trailers it's like I've seen this before have. Yeah. Exact original. But here's the thing, I mean, it's one of the good things, we'll have to say is that he seems to be really into it. Yeah. Like just because this may very will be a train Rick. He's not gonna pull any punches going all out with his craft. Yeah. So, you know, streetfighter movie came out, I think in December nineteen ninety four. And if you look at Ron tomatoes or net movie database, you'll see that gets very low ratings. Yeah, but people love the performance of rebel Julia who passed away recently..

Because they are. They're just such an iconic band. I can understand the same thing if Led Zeppelin or the who wanted to didn't want him to do a parody. It's like, I don't know if you can handle it. But. Oh, yeah. Yeah. There's prince well Coolio said no more after Amish paradise right which his label apparently gave out permission to do without asking Coolio in Coolio here is on the radio on freaks out. Like, no more like what is going on here? But they he gets part of that doesn't he probably some writing credit. Yeah. I'm guessing if he wrote it he did they mentioned Jimmy page. Michael jackson. It was you know, eat it fine fat fine. But black or white Michael wasn't into that. He thought that was more of a message song. Yes. So that was off weezer weezer. Yes. The band that just put out the -til album, which is all covers. Weird Al to do a parody of them. He did he did a lot of stuff with the polka. Yeah. On it. He was gonna do the alternative polka, including snippet of buddy, Holly from weezer, and then the ban reconsidered. Wow. This dot. And then Daniel powder bad day. No had a bad day. And then all of it land records. I thought that was interesting everything on Atlantic. Yes. That would include Led Zeppelin would. There were a few that I heard the last few years. He still does a really good job. You'll recognize.

They were playing like their hair was on fire. And so it was a lot of fun for all parties involved. Hope not yet. You know, you wanna keep trying to move up till the end keep trending up, or whatever you wanna call it. So Norplant some some pretty good football right now. But there's still some some stuff out there that we can make more plays. We can make and they were avoiding the what about lady on the, you know, the reporters are doing their best to either ask directly or indirectly about lady on bell. James CONNER didn't have a great game. And at a touchdown. But they didn't need him to have a great game. Mike in Hawaii before we take a break. Hey, Mike, welcome to the program. I thought the funniest one though was Amish paradise because Coolio got super pissed and he was like how dare you song means a lot to me. And it's personal. And I was like is that it's on the dangerous mind Centric. He's definitely better than sixty four today angrily. You know, what he's done a lot of great things. But he's also done the incredible hulk with banner and that indicate that I have still to this day. No idea what happened and then the the gamma dogs running around and whatever else the hell happened in that movie. Just say gamma Dong dogs.
