"Five years has never been an assistant coach started the any eye level. And all these years later, he's going to the final of read the first appearance in twenty years for the Michigan wolverines, and it's a long, wait. But it seems just fine. Now handshakes between the coaches. Buzzer. Michigan. Going back to the final four twenty point. Back alley rolling of the Florida Gators seventy nine took fifty nine I'd all those voices, Brad. Sam Bradford Schiller with our tournament. Flashback sponsored by the Wrangler performance series collection of genes bands, featuring a comfort flex waistband and Denham that flexes for comfort the Wrangler performance series. Try on a pair today. Yeah. That back in two thousand thirteen that was the second game in Dallas for Michigan. The first one Trey Burke, hit the shot from the parking lot. So then send them to the elite eight they beat Kansas in overtime. Brad. Sham would say from Fort Worth eight. Might have been farther Jerry's world. So you got all that going on? And they made it to the championship game where John beeline has now been for two of the last six years with the wolverines. But for them to get back to the Sweet Sixteen. They got a knock off Florida again today. It's the first game of the day in Des Moines, followed by Michigan state, Minnesota. Kevin Kugler and Robbie Hummel will going to be on the call and Robbie joining us now here on the tournament today. Good morning Robbie guys. How're you doing? Let's start with Michigan and Florida, and obviously what happened six years ago means absolutely nothing because these guys were fifteen and sixteen but with what Michigan did again to Montana does that carry some weight now that you saw Charles Mathews look healthy again. Yeah. I think it has to he he he's the guy that over his career in the NCAA tournament has been outstanding. You know, he's kind of been up and down the season coming up an ankle injury. But seeing him go and get twenty and ten in the way, he did it. You know, he's started off got going on the offensive glass. God going with points in the pain. And it's amazing. How when you see players. They get a couple of easy, baskets that basket just opens up for you. Now, you can make tough shots you have that competence. And he looked really healthy the the guy that I would say and not not just for this game. But for Michigan's tournament, it's Jordan pool. He he's been in a bit of a slump for about half the year, and he just looked a little bit unsure of himself and for a guy. That's so confident and is is such a potent score when he's playing well, he only took four shots it gets Montana, which is incredibly strange. So I think both those guys Charles Mathews, Jordan pool, we all know guard play is so important the NCA tournament, but they need Jordan pool to play. Well, if they're gonna make a deep run spot, Ravi speaking of guard play Michael White's got three young guards net rotation including his point guard, Andrew Hart, who's had a really solid year. What's what's their mindset going in a in this game against the team? So good defensively and so good at the point of attack. With your Simpson. Well, I think it has to be you know, we have played one of the toughest schedules in the country. They have sixteen games against quad one opponents this year. So they're battle-tested. They come out of the SEC, which is a great league. You mentioned Andrew harder. I think for him. He's going to have to be incredibly good today. And it seems like at times I would think Michigan is going to make him score the ball. He really looks to create. He loves the play pick and roll. And but at times it looks like he is driving to pass. I think Michigan will make him drive to score tonight. But an incredibly talented player. He leave all freshmen in major conference college basketball and assisted at just over five game. He's been incredibly effective as a point. We know how difficult that is to do as a freshman in college. I think Florida will switch a lot of ball screens. That's giving Michigan problems all year. But at the end of the day Florida is going to have to make threes. They shoot a ton of them. They don't make a ton of them. If they're going to really have a chance to beat a team like Michigan that defends the way that they do if you're taking twenty four three the game you better make your season average of thirty three percent Robbie Hummel with his ear on the tournament. Today. Calling the action in Des Moines game number two robberies. And the headline is too. Big ten teams going at each other. In the earliest part of the tournament in in conference history. Reality is they played once this year and had Michigan state being played Louisville. They also played once this year. So it's not that different. Except it kind of is different. Isn't it? I mean. Yeah. Whenever you see somebody in your league. It's lying. Here we go. Again. You know, you get so familiar with the teams you see him on TV so much. It has to be strange. I think that's part of the that's part of the cool part about the NCAA tournament. Is you get to finally place and people you never see. Well, Michigan state Minnesota has seen each other plenty over the last two or three years. So it's it's a weird game. But it's an interesting game. I think it creates an interesting dynamic in the big ten is full of terrific coaches. So I'm sure both Richard Patino and Thomas, oh, well, we'll change what they did back in February. And they're they're definitely playing so much different than they were just a month ago. Amir Coffey, Jordan Murphy, really struggle. They combined for nine point six rebounds tonight. There's no chance Minnesota can win. Amir Coffey has been playing outstanding basketball over the course of the last six or seven games. So should be a phone though. Always fun to see big ten teams get after. I know you love those big ten teams Robbie, but hey, you, and I have been watching Amir Coffey for three years, and obviously highly recruited dad was a great player. I coached against his dad in the big ten what what's happened. Like what what is it about him that all of a sudden he's taken his game to another level at the perfect time for the gophers? I think he's he's really getting to the rim and he's getting after in transition. He looks confident when he's aggressive, and he can get out and getting some open open space. He's an incredibly effective player. Great size. He's got a nice float or you can get to the basket. And again, I think it's the same thing we talked about you, get easy baskets, and it's conferences, a funny thing it shouldn't. You wouldn't think you would help a guy that it is talented as Amir Coffey to see the ball through the hoop? A couple of times with layup or even a free throw. But when he'd been able to to get going early all of a sudden that three point percentage rises up he can get to his poll up. He becomes the guy that can score at all three levels on the offensive end of the floor. And I just think that when he's an attack mode. He is good as anybody in the big ten at getting to the rim. Get another performance like they had from gave Kausar watch out Robbie. Thank you very much looking forward to Michigan and Florida the first game of the day. They're tipping off at five fifteen eastern. Thanks robbie. Yup. Thanks, guys. Nice. Oh, three of the four teams in Des Moines from the big ten one of the things that people always look forward to in. The second round is to see will there be an offset of a one? Will you get a leaf Faruk Menashe from northern Iowa knocking off Kansas? This is the round that had happens. We only have one of the ones eats playing today, and it happens in Salt Lake City. Let's get the preview from the men are going to be calling John Sadek. I Dan deco, but thanks so much a one seed Gonzaga gets us going here at Salt Lake City taking on the nine seed in Baylor. I know you're a mater involved in this one Dan dick album, what.

The fact that Minnesota is doing great work on the glass. That's what they do. Almost better than anybody. Certainly the big ten in across college basketball. They're out rebounding. Louisville thirteen to seven five of those thirteen rebounds on the offensive glass but credit to Louisville early down ward. Despite that disadvantage on the board will at times. The best offense the seasons at bet. Just get the ball the ram and letting guys like Jordan Murphy Dangelo tour. Amir Coffey going get it. "Back in Chicago at the United Center, the house that Michael Jordan Bill, but it's all college tonight. And this weekend the big ten tournament back where it started twenty two seasons ago. The boiler makers have been behind a lot of the contests but back in front by two seventy one sixty nine with two forty eight to go over the gophers of Minnesota, Greg Daniels and Doug Gottlieb with this one will have another one after this between Michigan in Iowa. But that feels like it's a long ways away because this is such a hotly contested game right now right now in Minnesota part of the problem is they're shooting has gone into a slumber one for their last seven they they've gotten everybody finally got to win the game on the road. And you have to take a breath and read purdue's defense. They had Trayvon Williams in the game. All right. We want to spread you out and attack. Whether he's got the ball with a hand on the other hand, we don't want to post up against Favio Williams really don't wanna post up against that harmful. Very good post defender if they go back to now. Now, we can expose poster on the second right after these two bigs. So you're Minnesota spread about attack number fifty. He started to move his feet. The perimeter. If at long jump shots taken that guy should run to rebound. Defensively, you know, they're going to Williams at the left block who's gonna shoot the right hand or go to harm to write law. Minnesota basketball out of the time out. They trail Purdue by two twenty on the shot clock, the lobby into Amir Coffey. Coffey dribbles it with the left hand into a crowd. Good helped by trae beyond Williams. Good chase by no gel eastern. It goes out of bounds.

"Welcome back to Chicago. Minnesota down four seven twenty four to play. Penn State will have the ball. Mike Grimm along with Spencer tollackson both teams have been trying to give this game to the other team. And neither team is really wanted to take it and run. All right. I mean, neither Minnesota has had a ton of opportunity here in the second half. Penn. State miscues Penn State mislaying ups happy in Minnesota. You got guys there aren't making free throws. Turn it over Amir Coffey to of nine from the floor for six points. Not the type of showing that you expected Minnesota out of the last three games to play or give you as a mere coffee's been so dominant for the last one hundred and twenty minutes coming into this one. It must've given that shot back to copy. They have on the official scoresheet given that one shot back to mirror when you said to four because he had been one the one that was tipped in. They gave it to Cal shirt. Now, they've it looks like they've given it back to coffee with two field goals and calcium. Now back to one field, right? All right either way. It's been a struggle. Inbound four Watkins who's on the floor for Penn State with Wheeler Stevens Bolton and Reeves Minnesota with the starting five Murphy, Cal sure coffee Otaru and makes rare Stephen single team. They kick out to Reeves is too strong and the rebound tipped out of bounds off of coffee. It will be can stay ball. Yeah. That's the right call sorry. Mike, I stepped on your call when I said Bill is as Reeve just launched. One up is the shot clock was winding down. But it was well contested not a good look for Penn. State in the half court inbound for Watkins right side gives out front wheel or the sophomore out of Florida twenty two to shoot under seven minutes now to play Penn State by four Lamar Stephen in the baseline goes up elevates Bank shot. Good Lamar Stevens trying to take over. He's got a good second half twenty points tonight seven here in the second Emily back to six fifty five forty nine the mar- Stevens playing some bully ball that possession. Just went right through George. Murphy to the rim. I don't wonder if he's going to test the waters, I think he should he looks like an NBA player. He's six eight. He shoots still to play multiple positions to Mike can guard. He can hit the three he can drive you. And clearly he can make jump shots. Here's Caldera long too. That's good. A big bucket. It's a shot clock was winding down and cut it back to four fifty five fifty one that was a big basket that came in the face of Stevens sakes tend to play. Fifty five fifty one. Out front for Wheeler. Gets a little bit of a screen. They run a little two man game into the paint Wheeler fatally shot. No offensive rebound. Put back is hereby Watkins, E S, fourteen points tonight. He's eating up down. Low gophers down six five fifty to go. Gophers have no field goals here until they had gone almost three minutes without one until Cal knocked that one down fifty three make it fifty seven fifty one. Here's mcbrayer on the left wing. Five thirty two plays now to calcium rises with a three from the left corner. In an air. Ball is second airball tonight. Reads, the rebound fifty seven fifty one bucket here matches Penn State's largest latest been eight a handful of times Watkins, they want that match up with Otaru back to the basket on the blocks. Bright side, spins fades missed a short. Murphy the rebound outlet, let Coffey who wants to run a mere center of the floor riches way toward the paint goes coast to coast missed the shot. Rebound Watkins, Patino, wanted the foul rob Riley, not whistling at Stevens. The other way, layup good. Twenty four for Stevenson an eight point lead fifty nine fifty one four fifty to play. Timeout, Richard Patino, who's going to give rob Riley a piece of his mind. I wanna give Amir Coffey a piece of his mind before rob Riley. If you ask me. Rob Riley and Patino, talking we'll take a break four forty eight. And this is a thirty. We'll keep it here Patino talking to rob Riley. And that sounds harsh folks. But. I mean for Amir Coffey to play as well as he'd been playing. Off of two feet under control. I thought we got away from the drive in there and try to draw contact and look for fouls while he was fouled on the play. But rob Riley swallowed the whistle. They certainly have a point here. Four forty eight to play fifty nine fifty one Penn State the lead. They didn't get back on defense. The gophers in a layup is there for Stevens. Who now has twenty two points. Minnesota with the ball down eight. Steven's coming back in he's not sat a minute here along with Watkins Reeves Wheeler and. V. Ben there as Bolton Stevens twenty two point eight of eighteen mcbrayer, Otaru, coffee, Murphy and Calcio for Minnesota. Oh to roll with it out front, and there's going to be an easy call and a foul on Reeves who tried to step in front of the screen and they got tangled. I'm wondering if they're going to look at a hook and hold like, they got their arms got tangled up and. They're not going to look at it. It happened right in front of us. They're arms got. I don't think there was one. But. Maybe could've looked at either way. Minnesota's gonna be the beneficiary of that call Breyer with the inbound for Stockland who's in for Otaru now to mcbrayer. They gave him the baseline goes in with a shot got it and a foul a three point play chance. Pre mcbrayer. That's a big bucket. He's got a dozen the.

"Ten twenty to play in the basketball game winner. This one gets Purdue the second seed tomorrow night at the same time, six o'clock, the tip and right now Penn State has the better end of it. They have led most of this game. Gophers just a couple of different leads. And right now, the lead is six at fifty one forty five and they'll have the basketball. It's been pretty sloppy second half and. You know credit Minnesota for sticking around. Penn State can't put them away because they're not taking advantage of Minnesota's mistakes. And Minnesota's not take advantage of Penn State's mistakes, and they just kind of keep going back and forth. Golfers just one three point basket tonight. They're one of six that's been a bugaboo all year, but it is just hard to win a game. If you're only gonna make one three point basket and only take six attempts by Franklin gotta make threes, obviously. And you got attempt to Minnesota one five Penn State. They're not much better just to a nine. One a six year. Right. One of five on the night. Just five attempts. No power. Sixteen is made from trees in Minnesota. No power sixteen has attempted threes. Which is when you think about that. And how much emphasis is placed on efficiency. And you're not getting three points on as many trips as everybody else in the country and your division, and you're still sitting here at nineteen. Well, that will be an area that certainly this roster down the road have to get better at. Is just more threats around the floor from three point shooters. Jay, you've gotta be able to you got to have the ability to stretch the floor and make outside shots, particularly if you wanna compete in this league. The ball pen state up six gophers hoping to rally to play here tomorrow night, then states a three point favorite. They lead by six leads been eight a handful of times Reeves out front till Wheeler Watkins back in there along with Stevens and dread download to watch against working on Otaru. They love that matchup. They kick into the corner. Dredge three is no good. Murphy the weak side. Rebound Murphy's eleventh board. He puts it on the floor dribbles himself, and now gives to Amir Coffey of the top of the key near the half court stripes. So further deep in the top of the key now to Otaru right of the arc left side. Coffey mere just four points tonight. One field goal. Here's mcbrayer train at three eighty three to pre mcbrayer office. Screens in double figures with ten and elitist three fifty one forty eight big bucket. Let's see with nine minutes and thirty seconds left. The gophers can go on a bit of a run here. Threes out front bouncing left side for Stevens. Working on Murphy. Jab step Stevens funnel at. Nightside for dread working on shirt into the paint travel, late whistle. But they do finally get the travel call as backpedaling was dread-. So a turnover three here tied for the gophers. Yeah. It was a good half court set last possession by Minnesota couple down screens, freed up to pre mcbrayer. And he's one of those guys for Minnesota. It's been cold as of late. But someone's gotta make one from the outside. Do pre got it to go. Yeah. We mentioned they've had just one make and that was the second. And they're going to have probably need more than two before. It's all said and done down three right now nine to play Otaru one dribble. Gives back to mcbrayer. He has doubled. They're really reaching in. No call. He'll put it on the floor and tried to dribble out of it. Spins through it finds Otaru down low kick into the corner Cal to to shoot. Now just has to launch went up from the hip and it hits the backboard, no good and Patino screaming at her to take the shot. You got an open three left wide open. Then it's a turnover. Minnesota shot clock violation very aggressive de that time by the Nittany lions. They were all over mcbrayer two times. Double teaming him eight thirty five to go on the game Watkins way out front gives to Reeves Penn. State eight of eighteen here in the second half. He's driving baseline runs in loses the ball off of himself. It'll be Minnesota ball in another turnover on Penn State. They gave us there for the taking both teams nita's somehow grab a hold of it. Right. Yeah. Trying to hand it to the other guy here. Here's Coffey walking up crossing half court with a pass on the reverse to mcbrayer in front of the Minnesota bench right side. Rare wants a screen for Murphy not much there. They get back to Murphy. Gophers down three eight ten to play calcium three in the air. No, late whistle. And a foul called Cal will go to the line Reeves the foul. Terry oglesby. Calls the fouls. Just a brutal. Call Pat chambers just wide eyed looking at 'em. We'll get the replay here. I mean Penn State had the rebound going the other way. A late whistle as you mentioned. Look like he got the ball. That's why it was short. Calcium free. Throw is short. No good. Don't have a second job. All-share has been good at the line. Seventy seven percent even better than that. In big ten play. Second free. Throw is good. Cal sheer has five. The lead is to. Eight oh nine to play. The lead was just eight. Minnesota's on a six run free throw. No good for three one four three. For calcium. He's had a rough night here. Into the paint goes Steven's spinning once twice boroughs has had changed pivot feed. No, call gives into the corner for dread his shot. Step back to know. Rebound tipped up and in by Jemari Wheeler. He has eight another second chance opportunity fifty three forty nine. The lead is four. Seven forty to play here in the basketball game. Here's Murphy on the wing left side to coffee. Coffey gives out front to Murph on the right wing now for mcbrayer going right back to Murphy. He'll dribble toward the paint. Spins in lost the ball on the way up stolen away by Stevens. Here. Come the Nittany lions and a foul before the shot. It was made. But coffee got him on the floor is third in a time out on the floor. More sloppy play by the gophers seven twenty four to play for Minnesota just foul number three..

So trying to pick up the defensive intensity because then state is getting into the paint a six point Nittany lion lied Penn State still in the zone. Moc pressure almost than they drop back into a man to man double high screener role. Now Murphy gets back on the right side. High low tries to go inside, but the past low enough Tamari Wheeler able to get a hand on it as he was fronting the seven foot big man Wheeler along the right wing running now holds up the dribble gives it to Josh Reeves the trailer left off the window. No, Eric at the rebound. It comes down to Motte Stockman. Four Minnesota thing about Wheeler, easy guy. This may be short and statue, very long. Amir Coffey gets the switch on John here. Now back to mcbrayer picked up by Wheeler bears doing a great job with denying coffee to the basket. Murphy drives into the paint kicks in the corner stall who's wide open and stole knocks in the three point shot. But he gets his feet said he's a great shooter forty-three percent on the season. And now, it's a three point Nittany lion. Lied. Jemaa Wheeler into the paint. Again, what he just dribbling into the paint and making decisions all night long, two miles Dredd slowly backs. A two Wheeler in the corner now Stevens waves out Wheeler. He's going to go one on one with Brock stole. He's drawing the is of four gulford players Stevens, miss the jumper. But there's Wheeler waiting for the rebound three. Golfers and only two Nittany lions and Wheeler had it dropped down into his breadbasket. Lou guys on the court are the ones you got to really worry about when it comes to defensive rebounding. Twenty three to eighteen Penn State with the lead. Mcbrayer lost the dribble. Good challenge by miles Dredd. But he's going to be whistled for a foul. Little too good of a challenge there Fisher, we dive in but you also diving into the opposing players news. "Turner gets fouled and he'll go to the free while they're ball screen in Illinois switching him. So he's got the big center on Georgina. So he's taking a one on one. It's like an all star game. He back him up sized him up and took him to the basket. So Turner, two shots here. He's one for two from the line, which is city. Shawn bailey. Just fouled out of the gate. Seventeen seconds to go. Now, we go to overtime. I'm not I wouldn't mind. Twenty-six for the Shani's field as he exits. Bigger Ganz anyone's had against the Wildcats this year. I know Amir Coffey had a big game for Minnesota a couple of weeks ago thirty two but. Here's Turner at the line two shots. To try to tie the game with seventeen seconds to go. Good free throw shooter first one up and good nothing but net. This wanted tired with seventeen point one. Nichols has come in for the alive. They go a little bit smaller. If it's tie, you know, one of those little guard gonna drive that thing with the basket second grade parole op. Tide sixty what seventeen seconds to go. No shot clock. Here we go. Everybody off here at the United Center. Court displeased timeout Illinois with fourteen point five. So they allied take time. It doesn't get a tighter than this. Right. Fourteen point five to go one shot to either win the game or we'll play overtime here. I'll be interesting because you know, there's going to be a ball screen involved will north northwestern. Switch the ball screen or tried to get over the ball screen, Illinois, very small. So there's not a lot. I mean, north of gut good team size. So a switch may not be a problem. The only problem be would end up on the small guard, and he probably tried to take a one. I wanted to be a very interesting seat northwestern for Las Affi defensively 'cause I'll be shocked of Illinois just doesn't go to a high screen and roll. Illinois has used its final timeout. Wildcats do have one remaining eighteen thousand side. Gotcha narrow northwestern h h Turner twenty points tonight. He's been valley absence of law. Fourteen point five ago. Stop here. Take their chances are not fake dollars. Maybe. Come up with a turnover. You never know. Fakeness grandpa. We saw Anthony games come up with what log ago. The Illinois will it down the ball here. The front court small guards at just are so quick to penetrate. Not. This is where your Nash would have been in the game to defend yet. Fell zone. Matchup fourteen point five ago. Frazier to trigger right side. Lied to police. In the backboard thirteen twelve back across the life of a tan with ninety pounds the dribble. Eight seven six five. Cheers police driving. Police gets inside. With what do I do? They got to review that. I thought that went off his head. I think that's north western ball know, what a defensive play by Anthony gains with some help. They knew what was common gel. You knew the balls governance. It's Illinois ball looking at the monitor over here. So. Yeah. Della noisy illinois's bowl looks like it one point two. Now that was he came from the help side it his man probably has opened the corner. But they're so little time left to skip it to a corner that was I agree with you. That was great defense by gate because he had his Manby. Well, going down. We have played. So far, forty nine minutes and just about fifty nine seconds. Ball. I thought the naked eye, and we're at this end. I thought it was off the games. But still that sure beats the alternative. I'm not sure it felt don't tip that he might have gotten a piece that they might have both gone of it and tell that was really great help side the litas small so it's hard for him to finish around the room. Boy there. Sure are taking looking at it. I don't know why let's get on what here's another close up angle here. And. Let's say Elise as the Cavs drop-off. He's the last one to touch it. "Time after we played poorly in the first half. And then you spend a lot of energy to get to that point. But we could've took the lead. And we did it take to lead. Tired of their game. And now, they run it back to nine that was that was a tough piece for us because we played well in some stretches, and then we're able to have some some back and forth in transition in a nutshell. Amir Coffey was really good tonight. But you know, we allow you know, Minnesota just to get in transition too much. And whether those report decisions are tough long shots. You know, anytime you allow talented players to to have space and be able to play. We were fortunate. They missed layups in the second half. Michigan Michigan state as a result. Now, the defacto big ten championship game this weekend Auburn comeback victory over Alabama sixty six sixty that's one that's got implications on the March madness brackets to our SEC live crew when you see zero free throws first of all in the first half rubber. Okay. That tells me that they're not getting a lot of. I was so upset about it too. So upset, but he told them let's get back to the free throw eleven out of fourteen from the free throw line second half you getting easy buckets. And how about this? They turn over nineteen times for twenty eight points, the first meeting that Auburn won Alabama Twenty-one turnovers. So when you look at when you play Auburn, the challenge is, you know, they're gonna play that uptempo practice like that every day they play like that every game. So you've got to be careful not to try to run Wisconsin. Yes. And that's it. So many teams are going to try to play against Auburn..

"Sure. We might freeze. Their hamburger buns off. We can always put more underwear under the underwear under our over where to us winter is no big deal. That's why we play the new gold north scratch game. It's got a top prize of one hundred thousand dollars because fortune favors the bulls and the bowl get out and play. Minnesota lottery must be eighteen or older to play. Minnesota fifty-six Purdue fifty four the boilers wrote a sixteen to six run. Amir Coffey hit some free throws to get Minnesota. The two point lead. Gophers were up by twelve at fifty two thirty eight of the fourteen fourteen Mark a little less than seven minutes later Purdue had tied it or do. We'll have the ball on a chance to take the lead after a gopher turnover. Now twelve turnovers on the day for Minnesota, Mike Grimm along with Spencer tollackson from our second deck perch here. A huge game for Minnesota. Visit like eight minutes left you're up to in a lot of ways your NC double A tournament hopes hanging on these next eight minutes. Absolutely. Don't get this one tonight and your dog. Now, you got to find a way to either win at Maryland rattle off tournament. Right. And as an eight or nine seed, you gotta face Purdue Michigan or Michigan state in that next game. So what are the odds the path and math? We've talked about the lose tonight the path and mass gets very tricky win tonight. And you've elevated your stock to the point where you might be able to sneak your way in whether you win or lose the rest of the way, but along long seven fifty three luck. Gophers have to play like they're not trying to hold on that to stay aggressive. Here's yeah. And I think Amir Coffey can be the one to set that tone for Minnesota. The last eight minutes of the game Goldwyn win this one please played a win. Don't play not to lose. Golden win this game. Two with eight to go. Go produced five of eight from three here in the second half sign on the right wing at the slot working on calcium. Who's back in the game with coffee mcbrayer stock on a Murphy now to Edwards with thirteen back near half court waits for a screen from. Works to the free throws up a shot. Back iron. No rebound tipped out. Coffey has the rebound on the run. It's a two on one. Amir eurostepped layup, no rebound Boudreau boy. A big miss their seven twenty to play gophers up to. Nice move. Just missed the one foot. Layup easier said than done through two players Boudreau. Here's Edwards into the paint. Lost the ball. No foul. Call Murphy, the rebound ahead for Coffey. And a three onto Amir centers. The ball rifles into the corner to mcbrayer. He drives into the paint. His eight footer short arms rebound his office again. Patino yelling at crispy ages. Sat on a stool. Here is I produce hit two big trees here in the second half. He had one in the first test Klein working on Calcio into the paint leans in up balance shot offense rebound Boudreau foul called and this could be hook and hold reviewable play Stockman. Commits the foul. Heels third not that we had the best of angles. But I think you've got to take a look at that. They're talking about it, and they will review it for the hook and horse, sir for that. No. They're reviewing the shot clock weather. No, I think that means we're going to review it. Okay. The one that Murphy had on the hairball three on the coffee miss. They did not review absolutely hook and hold without a doubt. That is. Absolutely. It's a hook and Gujral grabs Stockman. That's my point. Yeah. It's going to be on Boudreau. We'll see the foul was called on Stockman. The foul was called on Stockman. So let's see now. You're right. There's a definition of a hook and hold and how the call should be reversed. They should take three seconds to look at this. All you want to lay a little on air wager of milk, shake or something for after the game. Etiquette? We look at it through maroon and gold glasses. I get it. But there's if you're serious about this rule, they need to look specifically at this instance, and implemented rule based on that play. It was textbook Roy's in an inside position. And grabs documents hooks with his wrists. Absolutely. Goes and gets the offensive rebound. Chris beavers in Larry Scotto are this. We're watching it. I mean, it couldn't be any clearer. But we'll see what these guys choose to do. They would have to reverse the call which they should. I mean, it's not a foul on Stockman either way, even though that's what it was called. And now they're going to bring Courtney green that ought to help as he'll come and watch. Six thirty seven to golden gophers by two. All right. So while they're in the official review. Yeah. They're going to reverse it like they're talking about it right now. This is going to be Minnesota's ball. So we'll get the announcement here officially let's see they're talking to Matt painter. And how long does painter leave is big on the floor. Yeah. Boudreaux's reaction was just that they're gonna reverse this. Call got it. Right. So you get the milkshake after the game. Confirm the common. Follow on thirty five months stock. The gophers. Wavering. One follow on number twelve. He can't pronounce the Boudreau. Thirty-five Stockman will two free throws. Minnesota will take the ball out on the baseline. So it was not a shooting situation for Boudreau. So Stockman will get fouls free throws. I should say another Schuler shoes trip to the charity stripe. Fifty six fifty four. So Stockman gets charged with the foul and Boudreau gets called for the foul. At the line is Stockman free. Throw is in and out. Gophers have not been as good at the free throw line here in the second half eight of thirteen they were really good in the first half. Next. One four Stockman is good interesting. Lots toes the three throw line or lack thereof. There's about six inches between his lead foot and the free throw line never told us that before gophers get the point they lead by three and they have the ball six thirty seven to play Stockman Cowher, stall coffee and Murphy on the floor for Minnesota coffee. In the backboard against eastern. Amir does not play against a lot of guys at his position his close to his size and eastern stronger and not quite as tall. But he's at six six here's Coffey off of a screen centers of all of the top of the floor task down for Murphy, working on harms lost the ball and a travel called. Another gopher turnover. Minnesota just too many turnovers here Spence in the last. Well, no gophers about scored a field goal in five minutes and thirty five seconds. They're over their last five their only points have been at the line. They lead by three and we talked about the fact that Minnesota had to avoid that four five six minutes scoring drought. They have been able to do that in bus produce right back in this ball game. Three point lead for Minnesota too, many turnovers Edwards for the tie in and out. Murphy another rebound for the golden. Gophers look for Carson Edward his fourteenth. He has fourteen rebounds, thirteen points. No points in the second half Coffey out front Edwards now two of ten from three six of twenty three from the floor. There's ever night. Minnesota might win. Here's calcium along. Three. I. Soda upset sixty fifty four proud coming alive. Five thirty five no one using their seat. But chino hit Macau going. Here's harm to eastern out thought. Let's see what the big ten leaders have as an answer fine office screen open three an air ball offense. I threw it out. Tried to find ever on the wing, and he was not home. Gophers the stop and get the ball up by six sixty to fifty four. We thought needed to hit a couple any knock that one down signing time. Again, this season we've seen Minnesota not be able to hit the big three the three the three that gives them momentum. That might be the three that does it for Minnesota. Gophers by six we approached the five minute Mark Stockman against I forgive to mcbrayer, right wing. He just came in for stall, not a calcium straight on threes. Tried to Bank it in and brick it and the rebound comes off too. I for a heat check three there by the freshman under five to play northwest. Perdue down six with the ball. They have to timeouts. Here's Klein gives the harms out front right of the art ways. Debits working on the dribble. Here is Edwards and open three. It's no good. He stays cold. Rebound tipped and it comes off the coffee. The gophers three onto a mere flies into the paint control shot short. Deep. Rebound comes off to eastern. They want a three onto eastern working on calcium layup. No. But a foul on culture his Ford. The line will be no gel eastern who's one for two. He's got nine points. He's averaging seven ever night as I said a couple of possessions. Golden gophers will win on their home floor against a boilermaker team ranked eleventh that might be tonight Carson Edward six twenty four and two of eleven from three others have picked up including Klein with twelve and thirteen eastern can get into double figures. He has two shots. I one is good. He has ten had an elitist five with four thirty two to play. Sixty two fifty five. Gophers at Rutgers had a five point lead with four minutes to go hoping they can avoid that fate. Missed that one rebound to Brock stole. The lead is five sixty to fifty five four and a half to play. Prayer gives to Murphy out front a hand off to Amir Coffey well away from the basket thirty feet out gives to stall at the slide. Now.

He clearly tried to create space with that left arm. Yeah. It's going to send me to the line for a one and one opportunity, and if you're Minnesota gotta stay aggressive on the officer. But more importantly got to get it done D on the defensive end. That's how Minnesota was able to get back into this thing in the second half and go on their run. They were getting stops in limiting Rutgers to one shot each possession. Four twenty eight to play on me at the line of sixty eight percent, free shoot a Rutgers five of nine this free. It's another screen from Otaru instead rejects pivot symbol, bounces off his ankle and goes to Otaru seven to shoot Murphy, right-wing mcbrayer with four to shoot depre- with three to shoot works. "We're bringing to you right here tonight on compass media networks a big one in the big ten Minnesota host number seven Michigan. There are certain games that are win in in games for bubble teams. And to me, this feels like one of those games for Minnesota. I look at the gophers resume, and I always evaluate resumes by one simple notion. Have you beat other teams that are projected to be the NC double A tournament? Minnesota's beaten Washington on a neutral court Minnesota has won a road game at Wisconsin. And Minnesota has also beaten a very solid Iowa team that has been right than the top twenty five of the last couple of weeks. I firmly believe if Minnesota wins the basketball game tonight. It will comfortably be in the field the sixty eight on March seventeenth on selection Sunday, but to beat Michigan. Minnesota's gonna have to do a little bit more offensively than it. Did when it fell to the wolverines a couple of weeks ago in Ann Arbor in that game fifty nine fifty seven triumph for Michigan. Dupree mcbrayer. Amir Coffey and gave collar Scher all combined to shoot just eleven thirty one from the floor. You're going to need more than that from your starting perimeter. And conversely, what does Michigan have to do to me the one positive that? I've really seen from Michigan. The last couple of games that hasn't been there throughout the entire season has been the emergence offensively of Charles Mathews. He's playing confidently he's playing with like somebody who has a lot of pop in their game. And I thought that really came to the forefront. When Michigan went on the road and struggled against Penn State. You still Charles Mathews getting no flow offensively. He was I thought really efficient as well. In the win against Maryland. Last Saturday Charles Mathews emerging as a consistent offensive threat for a Michigan team that has really been known by its great balance. And I talked to a big ten assistant coach about this this week. The thing that's difficult about playing Michigan is there's so many different people who can be these. Asan? It can be Jordan pool. It can be Charles Matthews. It can be bras daycare. And of course, it could be John who might be the most improved player in the sport. When we return we will get you set for everything that's going on tonight around the country in college basketball. I'm John Roth York studios..

"A looks try to find somebody does find couch for three he missed it. Rebound. However, mcbrayer went long over fantasies back, and there was mcbrayer to come up with it. And here's a black shot and coffee had his shot blocked out loan. I think Joanna's the man who blocked that has got the basketball. Now, here's rob fantasy in the right perimeter. Throws it outside Justin Smith. He throws a bad pass. But Romeo comes up with it and mirror copy filed it. So coffee picks up the personal that will be his first of the ballgame. Romeo is going to be at the free throw line here. Almost a turnover lackadaisical pass the top of the key. They're almost stolen by Coffey. But Romeo's able get his hands on and draw the foul blank for was sex. Boy looking for his first free throw this ball game. And up it goes, and it's high off the rim. No good, Indiana gives up the ball and the one bonus situation because they could knock down the freeway. It's that kind of year for this, Indiana, ballclub, here's Amir Coffey. Throws it the couch. You're on the right wing. He gives outside to thorough back left. It comes to mcbrayer, then outside the Murphy. He feeds right key coffee. Amir Coffey drills down into the lane pulls up little job runner. That's no good. Got his own rebound backup. He goes the headache. It. He had is getting beat badly inside eight points now for coughing. Here's Lankford outside adjusted Smith gives it up the Durham Durham to the top. He fires up a three. It's off the Mark no Indiana's not hitting shots again. And they're down twelve and it could be more. Here's Calcio outside. The mcbrayer throws it left side. Coffey. Coffey bounces off of Romeo. Lankford tries to go baseline against him. Can't and coffee. Throws it outside road away at the basketball. Rob takes it all the way lays it up and got it. Rob better. See with a nice strong finish for his first basket of the thirty seven twenty-seven, Indiana. Dow ten o'clock at one forty one here in the first half wall across the timeline. Mcbrayer gives up the Murphy. Murphy mirror coffee us at the top of the key. He comes left side with the past mcbrayer. Mcbrayer finds Murphy outside. Then back off it comes to Cowger Calcio goes right to coffee coffee on the west against Romeo down inside throws up. Another. Shopper. But a foul is called this time. It'll be on Romeo, and that'll be the first online for the ballgame Romeo. Just got beat the half step there on the right wing got understand that Amir Coffey wants to drive the ball to his left hand. He was able to get a half step on Romeo. Get inside the paint cannot allow a ball. Handler. Get to the middle of the fate coffee at six foot as really good at finishing. Once he gets within fifteen feet coffee to the line eight points to his credit in this ball game. And he rattles avenue. AM missed some throws in this contest. I'm not quite sure what the numbers are at this point. But it's not great nine to fourteen. Second one. He got that went down. So Amir Coffey has his nine point of this contest. In Indiana finds itself down thirty eight to twenty seven bats past comes with a hands Jawad off, the Romeo Romeo. Top of the key can't penetrate. Now fires up at three its way off the Mark rebound. Taken by Murphy and a whistle. And they've got a call on Joon mortgage not much. They're gone. John's not happy about that. That's more of a touch foul. Both guys going for the rebound and Jordan Murphy caught the ball with his feet almost out of bounds on the baseline there. Barely nudged them there with his hip, but the whistle was called. That's a frustrating foul for coaches, Don, especially on one of your best players want Morgan to get a foul ninety feet from the you know, the opponents baskets really frustrating doin Morgan and Murphy is the guy go to the free throw.

"Minnesota can score they'll they're very effective efficient offensive team. They've got veteran players in coffee. Mcbrayer Murphy, really doing a good job where they needed when they need a basket, they go to burpee and they threw him Rutgers on the other hand in the last couple minutes their last ten points have come from their their freshman. Johnson has a couple. Carter has a couple of sorry of Johnson has a couple. Yes. Quarter has a couple. And corporate knocked down three and math ethics at four points, which is important. To getting it from different places. The question is can you keep can keep this going all the road gets a good team. And your point about getting to the foul line is is important if you could get to the foul on it makes it a little bit easier for festively Minnesota stays man demand. Both teams twenty two forty-seven shooting this afternoon. Well, but it's a ten point Minnesota lead Baker right side beyond the arc up top to Peter kiss. Montas Mathis nearside download feet goes to shack. Doors guarded by Otaru wants to work on 'em. Joel book right hand short taps doesn't. Go by Johnson. Loose false scramble for knocked out of bounds last touch by cow shore. Well, he wants to go look at it. And we'll be Rutgers ball about that aggressive as though quite a Rutgers by Johnson. And math is endorsed. And keep that ball is getting another possession going hard world long pass out the mattress dangerous Mathis dribble. Drive up off the shoulder. No good. Offensive rebound. Dourson lost at long rebound. His grant by mcbrayer, head to coffee kisses back. He will challenge the dog. But to no avail. Haughey slams it through its sixty eight fifty six and that's got the place on its feet. The awhile. Baker night, but his wage shocked locked away by burpee into the hands off Mathis mattress on the wing college. Passports shack goes up partially blocked. Burpee comes away with a loose ball. Here comes Washington driving defense. Timeout. Because what the last thirty seconds. Saw a violent offensive and defensive set for Minnesota. Wow. So all of a sudden a fourteen point advantage when moments ago, it was seven biggest leader today for the golden gophers. Well. By defense blocking a shot and then going down at doctor's got this whole place and the whole Minnesota bench jumping up on the floor. And then the next day. Another drive in transition another tough basket, but Minnesota now really on a roll. I tell you Joe, look it just watch a heck of a shot right there. This place is not full and yet. That little sequence there. It got loud. And he really did. She's fourteen thousand probably got eight or nine thousand here. Boy that was a heck of the dog go by coffee, the he just exploded to the basket. They look like kiss who's going to deny. But he just went right by. Brooker said opportunities just couldn't get the ball down in a couple of those blocks. Ignite the transition from Minnesota. Rutgers has never let this game. And they have done a marvelous job anytime. They've got down by eight nine ten to get back to four five six seven visit tall order. Now. You're down by fourteen in the place and the team the gophers starting to feel it a little bit just seven zero run that Jerry. Oh. Miles johnson. Top of the key for Rutgers right to left nearside. Ron Harper junior checked and during the time out bounced past Lola block for Johnson works inside tunnel up to the latte can't shot blocked away. My burpee into the hands of coffee to mcbrayer backpass coffee, and he gets clobbered by Harper on the way for what was probably going to be another crazy dunk. Harper puts his hands up guys. I just went for the block. And I agree with me did, but it will be free throws for Minnesota can extend his lane. Good move at the other end by Johnson. Good ball fake open under tried to put the ball to glass, but a great block. And ignited the fast break boy burpee watching just comes out. Unreal. Are you talking about a big burst from this team that coffee just exploding to the basket in transition? He is he is something that he's he's six eight. Free throw is up and good guy. Every balanced the second half. They're now fifteen of nineteen from the line say win win basketball games. But they come in shooting sixty percent. Second free throw good four or five the line for Amir Coffey who am I going to say quietly because nothing he does is quite but look up. He's eight of eleven with twenty one points. Knowledge straight GO Baker step back. Jumper left wing is short. Rebounded by Johnson USA, head fake. It sit all the way up and foul the miles jugs go to the line to staff this run of nine straight by Minnesota offensive. Rebound there miles got inside that time. Good offense. Rebound gio. Got a good shot. Drove from right to left got below the foul line at defender of stepped away dismissed shot. Johnson ROY inside to get that rebelled. No, good brick too. Strong east. Sean comes in the place on says madness. Johnson a season high twelve points today to go along with six rebounds. Second free throw up and good one for two for miles Johnson. Seventy two fifty seven fifteen point lead for the gophers with six ten to play in the second. Rutgers under pressure now. Beca zone. Washington. Takes the ball across mid court and promptly gives to mcbrayer. Sprayer right side faked. The three inside looks for Murphy. Double team comes Murphy. Zing pass into the corner. Washington three got it. Toys Ahah Washington gave it to the game four for twenty nine from three banks one in and hits one of the corner dipped. Here's Ron Harper. Trying to answer with a three comes up short. Ball rebounded five. Minnesota ahead to Coffey on the break is well of Floyd's geo Baker goes up to two hand dunk, and they are putting on a clinic in the last four minute. Yup. Twenty point lead for Minnesota. And this place is loud. Jerry, really loud. Shop right elbow. Jumper is good. Oh, I might help visas competence. Now in eighteen point game. Seventy seven fifty nine. First time. Rutgers is put the ball in the basket and three and a half minute time out on the floor with five seventeen to play here in the second half and Rutgers down by eighteen what an explosion why it's impressive win because the entire game. Joe Rutgers has really been as physical as could be with Minnesota and kind of held them from going on any type of Ron, right? That's right. And whether started with defense, whatever you wanna call it the energy was just lifted a hundred percent immediately and the game went from seven to twenty a blink. While the really started was at Bank by Washington. What was within seven at that here? Right. He backed it in and then Coffey entrenches and then Washington again on the drive, and then the gutted birthday a couple of free throws a couple transitions. Don't just set this place of fire. It's funny. How that works too. Isn't it yet? Absolutely. Your team that comes in not great from three. They hit nine of them today. And a guy who coming into the game as I mentioned is four of twenty nine is thirteen percent. He knocks down to the second one was a nice shot right him. But also the conferences up when you Bank one in from the right side. Right. Absolutely hates good. Probably one of their more highly touted recruits the last couple of years, but just obviously thinks he's been struggle with coach Pitino being on the same page, but he certainly play very very well tonight. Team guitar role on their home court, and you've got to kind of athletes in Minnesota has a very good at getting the ball out in transition, Richard really tough at Rutgers just struggling. To get any consistency. It's really hard now. Now, you're now, you're you know, you're down by eighteen at this point. Minnesota feels really really good about themselves and Rutgers just has to keep trying to chip away. See if they could bake a couple of stops and makes him scores. Try and get trying to get it down to ten in the next couple of minutes. Rutgers out of timeouts now down seventy seven fifty nine Washington with it in. No hurry, right side. Mcbrayer down low feet Otaru backtra wash rather mcbrayer, Richard. Coffee, and all right, misses the jumper. Her the ball. Rebound by eastern, Sean headed Montas Mathis Mathis, take right goal defender up in boy that is a gorgeous by Montana's Mathis at seventy seven sixty one perfect description. That's exactly what that was. Points in the second half for Mathis. Donna four thirty six to go down by sixteen. Washington throw rules. No one's cover them. Shoot. The foul line. Seventy nine sixty one Minnesota four twenty two to play in the second half. Peter kissed the far side of topper shack Carter. Turn to give the Mathis around the screen Pontes dribble. Drive up with me. Shot over the shoulder. Your contact nothing called become back. The other way, here's Coffey. Coffey sling a fastball and the right corner. Mcbrayer at three. Wow. Ted made three by Minnesota. And it's eighty two to sixty one. Everything's going. Well. Down to three fifty lap at this dribble drive again in close draws contact who go to the line after this time now oh down a little bit of a scrum with Mattis and Washington Mathis, I think is going out of the game. I don't know what happened there. But. Math is. Sultan happening. He pushed him a little bit. There will see I don't know what happened before. Usually. It's the secondary person. Good drive to the basket that time he got called for fowl came down. And there was some pushing and shoving going on. And we'll see. Officials obviously will look at this. I'll be surprised if there's not a flagrant one. Well, we'll give you the answer. When we come.
