The artist behind it song Tar ranked them by how attractive he thought they were. His team slaughtered them into forgivable e ugly and unforgivably ugly before making the final decision. Defending his work song Tar said he had every right to in his words tell the truth, but unfortunately for him, many others didn't agree, calling it misogynistic and intrusive, one set on social media. It's 2021. How can you still objectify women so boldly without any shame. After the outcry, the oak at Shanghai Gallery removed the exhibit and apologized, saying it disrespected women. This anger that such a prestigious gallery had shown the piece without considering the impact. I will have all the links available for people but yeah it's really awesome to see some of my favorite botanical institutions early scientific institutions. I realized the field museum does much more than botany. But you yourself are a paleobotanist. And where did that all begin. I mean we're you into fossils as a child or did you just kind of discover your pass along the way through botany and then decided to look towards the past to kind of understand where diversity is today botanically. Yeah so i've I i did grow with an interest in fossils also had a real interesting archaeology actually as a teenager in high school and i was interested. In how archaeologists were able to construct pasta environments mainly through Pollen analysis allow a but also analysis of other plant remains and then that kind of led me to go a little deeper in time with a with an evolutionary perspective rather than necessarily more ecological perspective and so when i was looking at college i chose reading university because they had a long tradition in petty. And that was one of the things that i that i wanted to study.

S6 E7 - How YOU can build resilience in the face of chronic conditions
"This is the we served now. What podcast and if you're anything like me you've had a ton of questions after leaving the military and the lack of answers looking frustrated and probably a little confused. This show is here to help you make sense of what can sometimes be well just some craziness that is post military life so you can do more than survive. You can thrive my name. Is aaron perkins. I'm us army. Combat veteran husband. Who beautiful wife daddy to two amazing kiddos and the author of resolve a step by step guide. That takes you the veteran through the process of rediscovering purpose in your post military life sue. You can thrive so the questions we talk about on the show you know. A lot of them are direct questions. You know how to use eleven gi bill. What's new for veterans. twenty one. Those are just a couple of things we talked about in the season. This is a season six episode. Seven and we're tackling a tough question today and there's no single answer to that's the toughest part about this question so before we dive into the question. I want you to think of math equations for minute. Just really simple ones. Two plus two. What's two plus two. It's four right so very simple. Very easy math equation vice. What's tuplice to. You're always going to say you're always going to know. Won't let's four but if i say what math equations when you finish them we'll have four as that end number and be like man. I don't know that's almost an unlimited number of answers. What's the same thing today. Because today's question is surrounding how you build resilience when a family member has a chronic condition and there was a virtually unlimited number of answers to this question. But i'm going to do my best to unpack those and there's a lot to unpack here so let's get started so my son. Christopher was born in two thousand eight and he had a kidney disease and still. Has this kidney disease to this day and We knew that he had some problems with his kidneys. Because they found the these problems on an ultrasound. When i was in iraq and my wife was still in germany and The the did the ultrasounds that hey you know what we recommend you go ahead and head back to the states because you know you can get you can get better medical care there in the states and so my wife moved back what she thought was temporarily and ended up being a permanent move I- redeployed early on and a compassionate reassignment and Got to fort knox kentucky which was the closest. Us army post Where to where. My son was getting his medical care and for the first couple years of his life he went through. Thing was eleven or twelve operations and Numerous other procedures to get these kidneys fixed. Now today. it's amazing it. You would never know. A single thing was wrong within the last couple of times. He's gone to the kidney. Specialists are like look his kidney. Function is great. He's doing very very well. And so that was a trial by fire so to speak. That was kind of like. Hey this this is A method i guess. A real world Test to see if you. Aaron are resilient and so. I learned a lot about resilience just in that experience. You know because again this is not just a flash in the pan you know Something one thing happened and then we had to deal with that. You know a broken limb or you know an accident or something like that. It was a chronic condition and again still is to this day but i learned a lot about resilience through dealing with my son's challenges with that disease and if you think back to military life right and this is army specifically i have to expect that all the services are like this but they build resilience in to the training plan. You know and as important as that is personal resilience all together now the past two months. I'll be honest with you. Guys have been absolutely brutal. They've been crazy because not only does my son have a kidney disease but my wife has chronic conditions as well so the past couple of months. My wife and i got her permission to tell some of her story. Her story is man. If if you ever meet my wife asked her to tell you her story because it is absolutely jaw dropping. How she is where she is today. You know based on where she came from and an all the the difficulties she came through to become the woman she is today but just in these past couple of months We experienced quite the scare and that scare It it seemed like it was cancer. Just be honest so for A while we were getting tests and then waiting for more tests and we got those tests and We said okay well. We're just going to get through this. You know no matter what happens. We're we're in this together and we're gonna stick together through this well. My wife goes to get a biopsy and she gets this biopsy. She's in recovery. The biopsy went fine. It was painful but it went fine. nothing was unexpected But it went fine while she was in recovery and this recovery was just a quick recovery. Just a few hours. She had what is called a ti or a mini stroke. And so we're like. oh my goodness how. In the world number-one how in the world is this happened number. Two how do we deal with this now. You know this is. This seems so much more serious than what it The what started out to be. We thought it was going into get a biopsy and and now here you've got to stay in the hospital. You've gotta be admitted well actually admitted to one hospital then transferred to another because at first hospital was too small and they didn't have the right doctors. There had to be transferred to another hospital and then finally a few days later she gets out. She's getting slowly better. But we still don't have those answers right. Don't have the answers in the biopsy because it takes a week or more to come back and you know she finally gets these answers and they're like yeah. Well we really don't know what it is. We really don't know what it is. It's not cancer. But we're not sure. And so they said. Well we want to send you to an autoimmune specialist and and those Those doctors are are booked up forever and well we can get you. Maybe like june july and so here we are still waiting on those answers and obviously all of this is stressing her out now. Little bit about that mini stroke just answered stress for her brings about these These symptoms where It stress basically over stresses her brain and she ended up needing to quit her job. And you talk about frustrating. And i don't mean frustrating like all you can't work anymore but she was super frustrated at like me. Why in the world is this happening. And and you know. What can i do to help and to build that resilience right but this is. This is not a story about my son. This is not a story about my wife specifically. Today's show is all about building that resilience when your family member has a chronic condition. And so i'll just tell you over. This was going with my wife. I stopped everything i could. You know some of you may have seen an email from said. Hey sorry. Our live mental health event An open dialogue mental health is going to be cancelled if your sponsor for the event. You've already paid. You know we're going to refund your money Which which already did. But there were so many things that i was doing that having a hand in that i said you know what i've just gonna stop doing those things and focus on what matters most right now focus and for me. That's my family. And and i think that is a key element to resilience is focusing on what you need to focus on and again. I know that sounds vague. Right but what is it that you personally need to focus on. Because i can't tell you what you should focus on. I can't tell you that. I wish i could but unfortunately i can't at so. I resigned my position from a nonprofit board Alabama veteran here in here in obviously alabama But also got some help from facebook in preparation In preparation for this episode and Some of you responded and told me how you build resilience in your own personal life. And i want to go through some of those responses real quick and then i'll dive into the five science backed strategies to build resilience but on facebook right. You know one of my friends. He said it. Because i asked i said look. I'm news and helping an oak upcoming podcasts. What are your go-to strategies for building resilience in your personal life and one of my friends. He's kind of a kind of a jokester but he says he says avoiding people and puts us little laughing face or winking face at the end of the comment but the the fact is sometimes that is the to do to help you build resilience and focus on what matters most to you another person. I and i love this. She said it's all about the thought life. It's about your mindset and and she also she said. I'm practicing telling myself no just to exercise that muscle while you know what that's not a bad idea and so there was a number of really good comments here but a couple of them Not a couple of them. I should say a couple of themes came out number. One was faith how my friends saying you know what. I'm learning to do what i've needed to do for years. And that's focus on my faith. You know my faith pushes me past that present crisis or would i'm perceiving as a crisis right you know made. My faith is reading and prayer. And you guys know if if you've listened to this podcast before that you know. This isn't absolutely faith-based podcasts. You know and and my my faith is that of christianity of following jesus But faith has been incredibly important for those seeking to build resilience in a personal lives and Additionally is time for self reflection so one thing is faith is the one theme that came out in the second was self reflection scheduled time for relaxation. And so using those hobbies or those Chill lacks kinda relaxing moments and building those in to your everyday life so that you can handle those stressors right And i wanna mention one of the thing this was. This was a a another theme. That that i know i said only two. There's actually three themes that came out and that's relationships. Relationships are so critically important and one guy actually When my friends here in the area said whoa to him and this is a scripture verse. Actually he's fourteen. He says woe to him who was alone when he falls and doesn't have another lift him up because look lifestyle right. It's really really tough. And the truth is we can't do it by ourselves. We weren't meant to we weren't designed to So it's really really important to have those people in our lives to help us when we can't help ourselves so having those strong relationships around us In a one one other one other comment. I wanna to point out before you get to the five science back strategies for building resilience practice resilience by practicing being resilient each time. Something happens to us. We need to put that in her memory so next time that happens to us even if even if it never happens again we we have that memory of what we did as we figured out you know kind of how to go through that process the first time now. What does that have to do. With a chronic condition you a family member having a chronic condition. All those things apply. They apply directly. Okay so five. Science back strategies to build resilience and this will take just a few minutes number one change the narrative. So look when something bad happens whether it's a single event or a long term Kind of episode right. We often relive the event over and over in our heads and it's called ruminating rehashing the pain and and it it's like we're spinning our wheels. Basically you know There's a study. Said you know what maybe try expressive writing. You know to try gaining some new insights into the challenges in your lives. You know there are a few different ways. You can manage that but that you can change the narrative But one of the one of the ways is to reframe it in another Another perspective or another light. How do you that a one of the things you can do is talk to those in your life that you have those strong relationships with another reason why relationships are so incredibly important. That's the first one number to face your fears. Sure like man. I don't know what's going to happen. In my spouse's life from my child's life because of this chronic condition face it running away is not going to help and when i say face it i i don't mean just dive headlong into a by yourself and tackle it all alone. Another reason why those relationships are so important. So even if you know it's your spouse that's going through something being able to talk to someone else about it about what's going on in your life and how you were feeling is so incredibly valuable. You can't even put a number on it so number one going to change the narrative number to face your fears and face those fears with someone else number three and i'm gonna put this link. This is a great article will put this link in the show notes. You can check out this entire article yourself but practice self compassion. Think of it. Think of what. You're going through right now and think of that in someone else's perspective like if someone else had the same challenges you were having right. Now maybe your child is a chronic condition or your parent or your spouse and they came to you and said hey i. I'm having this problem you know. My wife had a cancer scare. She had many stroke and then We sort of know what's going on. Oh gosh i i don't know what to do. What would you do. Chances are you would be compassionate with them and we know fear versity they can make us feel really alone and we wonder why were the only ones feeling this way and what exactly is wrong with us and check chances are. There's nothing wrong with us at all. You know the there's this real problem with And with i within the veteran community that we all seem to think we're alone and the truth is were not and another reason why you need those strong relationships so you can remember. Hey i'm not alone this but practice self compassion be compassionate to yourself number four meditate and. I know that meditation sometimes gets a bad rap. But i will say. I've tried it myself meditation. Mindfulness and it is a wonderful stress. Reliever i will let you do your own research on that. But there is such value in meditation number. Five and this one is critically important. Cultivate forgiveness. And here's the thing. When it comes to a chronic condition of family member whether that's your spouse or child or your parent or or sibling you can sometimes get this. You can get mad right. And what is there to be mad at. Who is there to be mad at. Well you know you can be that nature you can be mad at god. You can be frustrated but holding a grudge is only going to hold you back. And and that expands far beyond just the Know caught debating forgiveness for forgiveness. Sake right extends will beyond that in well beyond the chronicle condition idea and goes further into your entire life because my pastor says it like this he says holding a grudge against someone is like setting yourself on fire and hoping. The other person dies from smoke inhalation. I know sometimes we feel like man. I've got to hold on to this grudge. I'm not going to forgive but cultivate forgiveness. And there's an entire chapter dedicated to forgiveness in the resolve book. And so i love you to check that out Head over to kurds fight again. Dot com click on. Get the book and you can find out more about forgiveness what that looks like. In the veteran's life look stress and struggles come in many forms in life adversity trauma. Fear shame betrayal of trust. Look there's a lot of things you can do though that can help you learn to cultivate forgiveness so those five science backs strategies to build resilience number one change the narrative face your fears in practice. Self compassion go easier self number four meditate again. You do your own homework. Do your own research there. Maybe it works for you. Maybe it doesn't. But i know in my own life it has helped kaminsky and number five avait forgiveness l look. I know we have a lot of questions. We all have a lot of questions in our lives but the most important question we can ask ourselves is this have. I accepted the forgiveness of sins. That only comes through faith. In jesus christ while i hope this episode has helped. I'd definitely hope that you've gotten something out of it. If you have would you go to. I tunes and leave us a five star review. That would be amazing. And if you if you didn't like the episode and you're like hey. I learned something. Would you please go leave five star review. Those reviews actually helped so much. If you're like you know what. I'll leave review but maybe not five stars both. We'd like to hear those two so again. If you have any questions for us at all that you would like us to address here own the show. Send us a message podcasts. At courage to fight again dot com. And like i said at the beginning of the show. If it's on your mind it's worth exploring. Well thank you so much for listening. I'll see you next time We served now. What is a production of courage to fight again.

So i've had to learn to record remotely. But yet god i wanted to come and sit in that god. When i was looking at the pictures of online yesterday looks absolutely beautiful. So you are literally. i think. Probably obsesses world by by herbs and plants to the extent that i understand. You've grow six hundred of them yourself. So i thought maybe start with as you could just go through six hundred and let me know the attributes of now we went we do that. But that's that's quite impressive but it's hard to know where to start in many ways because you you've got a sharper distillery herb nursery revenge garden. You run events weddings so much more. But i i guess the backdrop to all of that is your love of plants. So if it's okay. We'll start there. And i'm just wondering when you decided you wanted a life changing you wanted. Your future to revolve around plants will win. Was that what was the trigger. That led you to sort of start. Studying tackles while i used to have back from another life. I used to have a a wine. Business in scotland colin variety which I started with my father. He cited possibly nineteen ago. But i'd already been the as. I love the wine trade because it was involved with the grapes in the growing. But i'd always had my loss of line. The small tiny piece land when i was twenty to stop growing always be addicted with hill running while swimming being was a while camping all that sort of debugging and all that sort of stuff But i i spent From ninety one to two years so computers at twelve years ago on a built in priority up and obviously supplying tiles and restaurants scotland and also down than With mine that i really sort of lost the soul of it Building business building a business and my real passion was in growing the plants. That is spending so much of my free time day and being outside and i thought you know what i don't change my lifetime Another will and actually went through a big change in my life at that point anyway and it was right on. I'm doing it and it was very big. Cutoff began Ended up selling in radicals. Now in morton's up here. And i retrained botanic gardens rob gardens edinburgh for two years and came home and i traveled quite a bit and worked with a Medicine management you call medicine man in north north america which doctor and south african to really understand thoughts. And it's not until you sit feed someday truly connected to From this and i had no idea where the path was going to take in any respect. All i knew was that i want to spend the rest of my life with hats. Specifically specifically hubs Any was a leap of faith To it but i'm not sure that you've announced your question but that but it i'd love it though. I love the fact that yeah that you do. Do you just sort of made that decision. It seems like a cooling and the more we hear about how much you can do with plants. I'm going to ask a medicine man in north america. That sounds fascinating. Wh what was involved. There is his his remarkable jensen nat Booth by trying to his. He's written some books action about the moments in my study. Here i is all about medicine will welcoming nature Basically it is hard school of of learning It's not sort of any books in words. It's more physical actions that side and understanding the communication that you can have with the outside world And it was. It's an ancient ancient System we've lost the connection in our modern world that actually is still very vibrant in in the community in the in the wildest Connection with nature and really was just to learn more about that so he very much taught me a lot more about the connection of nature and hides commune with nature and the rich dodson. South africa was phenomenal. Man he was all about how to what the policy was. Just specifically hub in a medicine with lawns And that's what i'd studied. And i grow hers but i don't grow herbs. I grow because of a lot of people think especially in the hospital. They hobbs a nice culinary aromatic plants and yet actually good for nature definition of a hub for me is its medicinal full. Stop so when you look at plants says medicinal you look at our own indigenous plants. That means chick we ground other than the line oak. Alda it means opens the door to every indigent in a wild plants even more so my hope my whole path has been to aim for more information and what with the medicinal on medicinal level. Sounds incredible i. I would love that adventure. I've just at this. I think i did an interview with somebody on on mushrooms and had no idea about the sort of the the my caelian underground the ground and how connected everything is and then that took me down the rabbit hole of trees and i just read a book called over story of you heard of that one. I haven't what what what. What was this a fiction book. It's fundamentally about. I suppose how. How the growth of trees put the sort of the the context of our time on earth and generations in context. But i just find a amazing how connected nature is so. Yeah i think i would. I would love to go on on that sort of adventure journey was. Was there any key things you learn from either of those two guys that really stands so sticks in your memory that may be reaffirmed that decision for you to have that sort of life change anything that really jumped out and you went. Wow that's incredible. I'm so glad. I'm on this adventure. Two things to one. You have two quite deep yourself And secondly is making sure that you on following any rules any rules any any known. Science rules excetera is all about the key. Word is imagination able to unlock the opportunity. I find it quite. I find science by straight yet. We live in a world now where we can't move because signs sector. Don't get me wrong. I believe in living in a balanced life taking sides and taking pods and somewhere in between is is is a balanced This science that we talk about entire nine science knows. Trees communicate together Is this this brand new science. No it's not in our. This has been known by indigenous peoples for millenniums. You know we're just very backward when it comes to We think brilliant on science but actually when it comes to that in the communication that happens. It's not just underneath the solar trees the helping to feed one another one's ill communication with the russians in. This always happens on plants as well you know. There is a communication plots. I'm not wearing assigned was not meant to be told there is an indication of vibration happens on a rock on a on a in the waters in the trees in the flies. It's all around us. It's a thin bail just to be able to then have a look underneath and then have that communication with it so i find that bit about science. I'm reading a beautiful book at the moment job and chat about how science is not catching up with all the sort of in a in a watkins of trees and how they work in the family unit etcetera etcetera. But that's been known for a very very very very long time
Problems, Delays In Law Enforcement Response To Los Angeles County Bar Massacre
"Report says an overwhelmed 911 system, chaos and delays hampered the law enforcement response to a Southern California bar during a 2018 attack. Killed a dozen people. The after action report cites a syriza of problems that created confusion after a Marine veteran opened fire inside the borderline bar and grill in 1000 Oaks in long killed himself after fatally wounding patrons, many of them college students. The dead included a Ventura County's sheriff's sergeant who was wounded by long and then hit by friendly fire. Report says long left no note and his motive may never be known.
Arborists Urge Congress To Lower The Age Of Consent For Trees
"Trees. They're all around us. But who gives a shit. Well i do for one and you probably should to. We need trees for paper for climbing for pulling a leaf off of something. Living order feel powerful. But who's looking out for the trees survival their quality of life and the reproduction. They reproduce. Maybe i know even less about trees than i thought but never fear because there are some folks out there who do care and this week. A dedicated group of arbor's petitioned congress for a change. They say is long overdue. These restrictions are an outdated relic the past the tree. Then leonard's fiber to write the constitution had no idea what our contemporary society would due to its brothers and sisters join us in liberating these conifers and broad lease we need to stop legislating morality and lower the age of consent for trees. I'm joined by. Opr congressional correspondent. Marcy hammond who has the latest marcy. What should our listeners know about these crusaders for sexual freedom. Well as lead a modern fight against the high age of consent goes back almost half a century to the environmental and sexual revolution of the sixties and seventies contemporary arborists claim that many saplings are fully mature before they even start to flower and more importantly that the government should not be dictating morality or sexual agency. Several of the advocates spoke out this morning on capitol hill. These laws are unnecessary. Government cuddling they impose harsh penalties on anyone who violates their puritanical social forms. Some pine trees are producing cones as early as two years old. There's nothing disgusting about that. These seedlings are beautiful creatures with smooth bark and supple flexible branches there in the prime of their lives and should be allowed to express themselves. Have they see fit. They may only have a few rings on their trump. but that doesn't mean they're naive or immature weird. What's your take on this marcy. Well this arborist movement was on the fringe of environmental policy for years but recently as more and more people flocked to the outdoors it's gained momentum. Now there are dozens of message boards and websites dedicated to celebrating young trees and advocating for their greater reproductive freedom. What do these activist. Groups is the downside with age of consent laws for trees. Can't they just you know. wait a little. I mainly see it as a violation of personal liberty. What an oak birch sprout does in the privacy of its own grove. Shouldn't be within the government's purview. And by sending illegal agent which trees are allowed to reproduce it stigmatizes young trees sexuality in a way that is harmful and repressive interesting. Does this movement have any chance of succeeding right now. It's still very much an uphill battle age of consent. Laws for trees have been around for hundreds of years and have political support from both sides of the aisle conservatives in particular are concerned about the effects of lowering legal age. Like how will these trees care for their four hundred kids scattered around the forest. Will they get enough sunlight

"Get through the Christoph Komando here. And it is now time for one of our favorite editions on the show. This'll be picking against homeless shape edition number nine. We thought we were going to have that last week, but she scratched out of the Ashland Iran in the coaching club, American oaks, and as has been documented times. We don't pick toneless shape on the show. I usually get. We've usually been getting beat by Tony Shape but. You know this is her first race outside of Florida not necessarily a disqualification for her in a race like this, but you know tunnel is shape. It just kind of at least for for me has looked like that. She's run well in the lower level I. Don't WanNa say Laura level stakes Gulfstream because that gives it the wrong connotation. In the racist like the four gallon of Dimona Dale when she's not running against the toughest horses, she's able to run well, and then you know. She runs in a race like the Gulfstream Park Oaks, where she gets a fully like Swiss skydiver, and she runs really poorly in that, so the Gulfstream Park Oaks is very concerning and like I mentioned this her first race outside of Gulfstream Park Antoinette is here. She's had some success on the dirt. If you go back to the TAP in stakes at acqueduct, that race came off the turban. She won that race fairly easily, but you know she's been if he if he on the dirt, she did run in the Gardenia at Oakland. Fantasy stakes day that that was the undercard race created for that other interesting horses underneath in here I'll give eric the opportunity to talk about those underneath and to share his a very high opinions of tonal shape, but That's where I see. It's you know it's I understand it would be hard to go against homeless shape, but you know it looks to be underneath like there's not really much I would say probably the horse I would go with. The is the six Paris light, but you know Bill Maher does have pretty good pair in this race. But again you know total shape is probably going to be the to punch of money, so pick against for at least for both of us..

"Jack you covered all the bases on those those top horses with our collectors skydiver. Our, collective. Steadily improved that I mean this is not a horrid. You're going to hear that a lot over the next two months. As we get closer to the Derby but this is not a horse who would have had any chance at a May Kentucky Derby, but he's going to be one of the favorites now as we get closer to the first Saturday in September. I WANNA. Talk about enforceable a bit here. I start off. The layoff ran since March in Louisiana Derby. And huge I mean. Everybody knows team Linda it's very hard to close on. The pace was pretty much there for him, but I mean it's Kim that you have to. The leaders have to go really fast for them to backup and allow the closer to come, which is why new enforceable wasn't GonNa? Win this rates, but I mean you had to go extremely wide on the turn. any still does. He flew home and inner added track. That's a little bit more. Of you know a little bit more depth plays more to the closers or a little bit more fair all around and you don't. He doesn't go as wide evoke won this race and I just think next time. Our ever is whether it. Be You know a race like the travers or the Ellis Corp Derby? He's one you have to watch. He GonNa be able to close better into A. He's a horse. I'm very excited about as as. As we get closer to Derby time and then I'll obviously have to touch on a horses quickly becoming one of my favorite horses finish the fierce and looked like he was prime for another third place finish in then just kind ran out of gas late, but another great race on that Guy I really hope somehow in his next crappy. Does something good makes it into their? Because it just be fun.

"Eye on as we get towards the fall. This was another race the next race, the grade one ashland. We talked about this being a very chalky weekend, even though speech was a really big long shot in the race. We both had our doubts about her. Going into this race, you know we both acknowledged that she's a really high caliber, and she's been running behind some of the best horses in the United States, but it just didn't seem like that speech was going to be. It just seemed like another example of speech running in a race where? She was the second best horse behind. A another really I- high-calibre horse and Venetian harbor, but speech proved US both wrong proved a lot of people wrong in the run that she had you know you gotta give all the credit to earn now. She's a great one winner. She's deserved a win against top class. Horses like this for a long time. But you know as it comes down to you know her running in some of these Con Kentucky Oaks Division races, and even farther along to the Kentucky. Oaks, you gotta wonder if heard Knack of running behind the top level, horses will eventually come back to haunt her at some point, especially with the fact that Swiss skydiver after her run, the Bluegrass is being pointed toward the Kentucky Oaks. You wonder if that or the fact that she's been running behind, those horses might come back in the end and haunt a little bit, but that's just speculation for down the road. Again? For Second. Venetian harbour! You can't really knock her too much. She was. you know. She was obviously beaten fairly well beaten by speech, maybe going going around one turn with sooner or a little bit better but it it just you know there's not really much. You can say about negative at the very least about Venetian harvest. You're in a good second and nothing really of note for many of the horses underneath that. Six hundred the five horse race tonal shape scratched out and she will be running. This weekend in the coaching club American oaks, which will get to in a few minutes. She's scratched out, so he didn't really get to see her first. Start Away from Florida, but the takeaway is speech finally gets her grade. One win finally gets her big win against You know a horse finish in harbor. Who is still a really high class worse, You know that's what that's what I would have to say about her again for someone who appreciated her ability to be really consistent against. Really top company really good to see that horse speech. Your. Cure..

"Day. They are threats. To midnight easy. We don't. I mean I'm not gonNA. Try to debate of this, but. Over the past year and a half the better resume goes to midnight so I think it's fair to say she's the best on paper older mayor in the country. Well the the the two biggest threats to her both you know basically had paid workouts this weekend in whoever she runs into next, and especially as we get towards keeneland in November for the. Nose of the to watch because I think they are legitimately the two biggest threats to midnight. Do Come Breeders Stop Time. But as appropriate as we mentioned keeneland in that last little Spiel, we got a lot of stuff to from very on very abbreviated, weaken racing down at Keeneland, but lots of graded stakes action. Lots of fun races is anyone who knows horse. Racing knows that Keeneland is one of the best places in the United States horse racing, and this weekend was no exception. We're GONNA. Pick up with some of the action from Friday and pick it up with The grade three on this was. Was a Kentucky Oaks Point race, but I don't really know how much any of these horses will come into play in particular with the Kentucky Oaks, but it is very It is worth mentioning that four grace's the winter. This race look very good in the Dogwood and obviously was up to form in this race. The three year old fillies eight, going around one turn in the Sprint Division in general disparate division, is very wide open, but there's another group. That's got some really. Hard knockers that you know there isn't really a set leader yet. I guess you can call four grace's that at this particular moment? the the test at Saratoga is definitely going to be a race. It says a lot about the three year old sprinting, but four grace's is definitely one of those that you have to consider in terms of this, which is turning into a really deep group of forces. It wasn't really that at the beginning, but as a lot of these divisions evolved throughout the year. They get a lot deeper on a lot more talented. In.

"Here's the field for the mathis brothers mile also at Santa Anita on Saturday one mile on the turf three year olds two hundred thousand dollars dollars is the purse. It's great to event for expanded stakes previews of all the major races. Plus lots lots more. You Get David and Craig's time for. US forecast focused on Friday morning video. Dot Com or the daily racing form you to channel three different opinions. We always like that here on out out of the gate. Let's see you David likes. He likes the price coming from off the pace so low fours. Clearly the horse to be in his brother's vile he's won two straight graded stakes races the twilight derby. I'm the great one Hollywood Derby last time. And if you repeat either of those efforts probably going to beat this field but both of those winds came going on eighth now. He's got a cut back act one mile distance. Furthermore he got absolutely perfect trips in both of those races. So he's going to have to get lucky but the trip once again because while he does have a class at John this field. It's it's not like he's been winning by gigantic margins. He's clearly informed right now but how long can run of luck. Perfect tricks really continue for this horse. And furthermore there's a fast paced predicted predicted this race. If you look at the time warm you pay projector. You've got a really quick horse likely to make the front end and kingly also the number ten loafers boy stretching out from spring raises so a most wars are who tends to raise pretty keenly in the early going could get pulled into chasing an obvious pace will see if that works against him. I'm GONNA take a shot at the number two originator. He's got the highest. Hi It's time for who has late pace rating in the field of one twenty one. I think that's significant. Given at the pace. PROJECTOR is predicting a fast pace and we can look at his second place. Finish for four back in the del Mar Derby when he finished ahead of todays rival Neptune storm. WHO's a major contender in the race and going to be a fraction of the price of originator? I thought originally ran really well. This Day like Smith who was allowed him to save out in the early going he peeled out in the scratching almost got there at the end. I think a repeat of that kind of performance makes a player in this race He's disappointed ended in three straight starts since then but I think he's had significant excuses in terms of tripped all of those races. He was spun out ridiculously wide and that allowance race three back Hackett Santa Anita than to back in the twilight derby he again lost a ton of ground coming around the far turn in a race that was dominated towards the inside and the last about the Hollywood derby he was trying to make up ground and cut the corner into the scratch but he got stopped in traffic and ultra courses. The three-sixteenths poll. I think he would finish closer that day with a clear run now. He's getting a riders switch to Umberto Going to start a stint in southern California. He's read well out of town especially overseas in Europe. So I think this is an interesting ride or change and originally originate just seems like a horse that could take advantage but potential pace collapsed. In this naps brothers Mile Degrade to Mathis further mile is yet another race at seeing the need for three year olds and once again be there. I asked Arai against horses of just their own age group before they have to move in take older and it drew a very nice field of eleven the time form. US pays projector is going to predict the fast pace for this one and impart that is because of the big field sites but there is also a speed lead in here signed on. I just looking through the peep out of ones and several other runners in even one of the European shippers I- sash who's making his first start in North America if you read through his time form comments side they're pretty detailed especially in the time form. US past performances. You'll see he is yet another horse. That likes go to the lead and and really likes to take it to take it on the front end of the morning. Line favorite is. I don't have any problem with anyone who likes this. Horse has been in great form. He ran one seventeen time formula speed figure to ask timeout which is best in the field. He is a horse that likes to run near the front but not on the front so he has shown he can close some ground than run. Well so I wouldn't blame anyone for using him in their horizontal. But I'm actually actually GONNA take a shot in this race. I've been pretty chalky and all of the other standing nita races so far but in this one would that fast pace predicted Projected particularly really at the shorter distance of a mile things tend to really get heated up front. I looked to our preview page of time for them. US Two horses really jump out on the late eight pace ratings. The first one is number two GENERA. He's fifteen to one on the morning line. He's been beaten by several of these in the past but he's never really got. Those was big fractions to run into and make his late kick more successful so he is one. I'm going to use and the one that I like. The most in here is number number. Eight proud I pedro. He actually won a nicer. Ar got beaten nose to back by Bobbin. Jackie who's also in this field but the pace was much slower that day. He made a big run from back of the pack and I really liked how he finished last time at a mile and an eighth in the Hollywood derby he saved a lot of ground kind of made a big middle. Move to get up and contention Chen and flattened out but the pace again wasn't quick. I think is move was premature. And it's probably a little bit longer than he wants. So He's also fifteen to one in here so this is one of those races where I'm I'm GonNa take two horses and use both of them in my horizontal. I'll probably use MO- fours as well assuming he's not too heavy abby too heavy of favorite. But I'm really looking to land the price in this race. The Mathis Brother Mile I think David and Craig's picks both have merit especially Craig Selection of Proud Pedro really interesting horse and believe it's his third start of the form cycle may not early inside mid race move last time out before flattening out at a distance a bit too far I wanNA. I used that were somewhere but I think the boss of the division right now and rightfully so asthma Forza. The number five can win from on the lead can win from just off the pace and yes he had a very good trip trip. Last time out. We'll take a look at him. Turning into the stretch. He sat the pocket after getting bumped. Hard at the start. He eases out in the two path. That's Neptune storm was a real tough cooking back interface mo one more time in the Mathis Brothers Mile But mo- forts as he did in his prior start was just too much for Neptune storm. He might have to deal with the faster for pace the what he's seen in his last few races. But this guy's just one three in a row. I like them at the Mile Distance. I think he can be effective for mid pack getting the jump on David and Craig's rigs picks maybe not a great price on Mo- force of. I'm looking forward to seeing what he does here. And hopefully into twenty twenty as a four-year-old best bets up next it's time for our best bet segment here on out of the gate. David's got something to New York. Craig's got something Laurel Park Nice car to Laurel on Saturday with several stakes raises. My Best of the weekend comes on Saturday at Apricot. In the seventh race the six furlong optional claiming race field of eight runners the likely favorites going to be the number for three wicked trick and while I admire this horse. He seeking his fifth victory in a row. He's really been a different horse since they switched dirt over the summer. I think this is the time to take a shot against wicca correct. Because he's stepping up to face the toughest deal that he's ever met and I'm just not sure that he's quite up to the challenge ongoing. Try To beat him with the number five Chateau got seventy two on the morning line. I think that would be a very fair price on him. Because he's just earned a couple of time formula speed figures in his last couple of races that simply make him the horse to beat Miss Spot. Let's take a look look at his victory to back at Saratoga where he beat some common rivals in this race. He opened up a big lead coming around the far turn. There was a lot of speed miss race but he just basically ran. The author author beat He got ahead of todays rival. Run for the munnings early in that race and just really put him away in the very early stages lost by over twenty lengths. Chateau came aimed at the eighth pole with a seemingly insurmountable advantage. He did get really tired of the late stages and almost got rubbed down by. Put the glass down. WHO's back in this spot? But I thought put the glass doubt got at the right pace that up that rate that day while he was one of the best part of the racetrack closing inside. I thought he's still got a much better trip than chateau that day. And Chateau earned a one fifteen time. CBS speed bigger really captured. How well he ran do that faster? Pace Chateau is coming off a loss last time at Belmont but once again I thought Chateau ran a lot better than it seems. Because does he got embroiled. In a very quick pace that day dueling with another rival. He put that horse away coming to the top of the stretch. Just got run down by the two closers the horse that won that race. He's happy farm his stablemate since comeback. One again a winning stakes and then he was even second do of the very good forensic fire last weekend so I think form of that race has been in strong and chateau got a one seventeen time must be thicker even higher than what he got his victory to back that day so chateau to me is coming in but some of the best time for your speed figures in this field and I think he can just run them off their feet once again. So I'm looking for Chateau to wire wiring aquidneck seventh race on Saturday for my best bet this this week. I'm GonNa go to Laura Park for the Dave's friend states. It's being run into third race on Saturday. Draws a solid field of aid including a heavy favourite in three five India whose fortified four to five on the morning line. But I'm going to lean and a bit bit different direction. I'M GONNA go with clubmen He's a horse. I like last time out on. I believe it was my out of the gate segment went up. He didn't quite get the pacy wanted that day. He ran in one twelve time for speed figure when third. And how Howard and Sandra Bender Memorial but he was only only beaten about a half length and I think he's going to get much more pace to run into here. This isn't a race flag by the time from us-based projectors likely to have a fast pace but it it comes really close it was it was a point away on the one to ten scale. We use so I am looking for for off the pace type runner to get up in here and I think clubmen fits the bill. I you'll note last time. He even had a little bit of traffic roms but despite those slow fractions that he saw he was four and a half lengths. Backer away in the six furlong race and he was able the get up only beaten just a half length by the the very solid Lewis Field and he's a horse if you look through. His peas had some success going longer. But but I do think most of his better races come sprinting and particularly at the shorter six far long distance. So my best bet on Saturday is going to be Klugman. Once again Laurel the one horse race three my bets also at Laurel race number four number five Levy by choice coming into this race for a Red Hot barn off of a victory. And we'll take a look at the most recent race from lady by choice going six furlongs. This is one of those fast early slow late races were lady lady by choice. decided to open up very early after going fast made them come and get her and they almost did. is you see lady by choices. Getting very tired. And in the last sixteenth of a mile going this six pearl long distance now she stretches out to a mile and some folks might be worried after seeing this sort of lack of finish. How was was she going to navigate an extra quarter of a mile? Well if you look at the time for. US Pace projector for the fifth race at the fourth race at Laurel on Saturday you're going to see a gray bar situation situation. No speed no speed except for lady by choice. There's going to be a much different pace situation where it's a slow early fast late situation for lady by choice that will help or I believe get the mile. She's five to two on the morning line. Considering the way the Barnes going. I expected to bed a little bit but I think odds of nine to five or to to wanting being fair for lady by choice. My best bet on Saturday. "So I'm not going to over complicate. Things misled brea. I just think Bell Athena is very likely winner of this race and while I don't love the prospect of taking a short price on her. I'm also not going to pick against her. I was impressed by her race. Lasts announced announced Breeders Cup. Affiliate Mayor Sprint when she was second to Kofi almost eight lengths ahead of the rest of the field that day. She didn't break sharp as some might have expected. But I thought Flavian Pratt. I did a great job rushing her up inside getting a good position in behind the leaders so that she didn't have to take too much kickback. Running up close to those horses. She swung out of the top of the stretch. Really had her are shot against Kofi. But I think it's no disgrace. Losing to that Philly was likely to be a dual champion. Both female sprinter and three row champion. So Bella Fina just seemed like a worst beaten beaten this race. I thought she'd been ran well to back in the billion going distance. That may be too far. She loves DANTONIO and she's likely to get another pretty good trip in this spot. The other horses that I could news. I'm just not that excited about for star thought ran okay in that raven run a for a bells the one of that race since the winner got such a perfect trip the other horse that I might throw in his mother mother mothers and she appears to be training while coming into this race. It's just dull Athena really had mother mother's number going back to last winter so I'm skeptical that she can be the one to turn the tables. Just think Bella. Venus probably GonNa win on Saturday. The Greg La brea stakes drew a strong feel that three three phillies drew nine of them including the runner up in the Breeders Cup Filly. America Sprint Bell Athena as she's a filly who was beaten less than a length by the probable eclipse award winner for three year old fillies Kofi. CNN start up. Kofi is a horse you just dominated or division Rarely DC three year olds sprinter when an eclipse award for that age group group which is most likely going to do just that I know she will be my vote when I file them later and later this month So I think Bella Fina is going to be really tough beaten here She's got her two races including that Breeders Cup and back to the Custodian State Gironde Time Formula Speed figures one nineteen and one twenty which is better Saturn anything any of the other phillies in the field is done. I believe in one Andy. Byers older books. He called that a double advantage. HORSA in those kind of really tough to beat particularly TAKO IAN stakes races. I wouldn't blame anybody who wanted to take a shot with some others. I stars been promising. She's one two three. She lost for the first time outrunning second in the grade. Two Raven run last time I in that race she lost two bells. The one who's also in this field as she's one five nine career starts in even Hartman not to love has been a horseshoe stuck. The southern California has won three out of four but all of these just look a little bit slower than Bell Athena Bell. Athena's run under our best distance. She's doing at her favorite track. So she's going to be my single in here another brea. I agree with the boys. I think Belfi is just going to be too tough. You hate to chalk out like this. But she's just run too well to lose in her seven furlong raises and I know she stretched out in one racist like the Santa Anita Oaks around two turns. They tried to make her a Kentucky Oaks. Really she is better at this seven eighths of a mile distance. It's the guy said. I mean she ran great in the Breeders Cup. Filly Amir Sprint early. Moved down towards the inside to get into contention engine look like she was travelling so well on the term but was stuck in behind a wall of four had to angle to the four outside and by the time she got clear coffy was gone. She tried hard art for second. She's just the class of this ratio. The fastest source in this race. It's all about working out a trip. Bella Fina way the horse to beat Allegri and making a total consensus a unanimous miss consensus in the La. It's complexity it's Baffert baffert's got the other three in this field. The three biggest prices in the race perhaps led by Santa Anita Derby winner roadster and. Let's let's go back to his signature win in the spring propelled him into the Kentucky Derby roadster since this race has an exactly duplicated this performance performance. He's had a couple of races off the layoff one going short. I believe it was in the Damascus steaks on Breeders Cup weekend and a lot of folks were disappointed. I bet he lost that race. Even though he lost favoured stablemate I gave him extra credit for that performance simply because I race off of a lengthy lay-off now we stretched doubt in his most recent start. I think Bob was really excited to stretch the source out. He didn't have a very good break. He didn't run very well and now he's turning back in distance going seven furlongs. He's just in middling form for me right now. Does he have racist. Certainly as you have class certainly but it's going to be interesting to see how he copes with turn back and distance and a couple of talented talented horses with more tactical speed. It does look like perhaps a two horse race on paper between Home Maho beach and complexity. Let's see who David and Craig so. I know. Some people are getting a little bit down Malibu for drawing just five runners but there's a lot of quality in this field and I think you've got to start the conversation with the number five Homa hobby itch He has just been rock-solid or his entire career especially since they made the transition to dirt. He's right nothing but good raises. I was really impressed by his race to back in the Santa Anthony to sprint championship. When he beat chance lock going distance? That's probably a little bit too short for lasted out in the Breeders Cup Mile. I know disappointed as even money. Favourite getting beaten by spun underrun. But I thought Mike Smith might have misjudged that ride a little bit because it did appear that there was a lot of speed on paper in that race it just didn't really materialize them. All Spun to run does deserve credit going gate to wire in that spot. He actually got a pretty favorable setup because he was setting turned out to be a moderate pace over attracted certainly wasn't hurting speed Omaha beach. Meanwhile had into rally into that moderate pace coming through kickbacks. Somebody hadn't done before and something. That was actually pretty difficult for any horse to do that. Entire weekend of Santa Anita so I think Omaha Jackson ran deceptively well to be second day the turn back to seven furlongs perhaps it's not ideal but since he ran so well going three quarters to back in the Santa Anita race I think he's is going to be just fine. Going the seven panels and he just to me. Seems like the Horse to beat Miss Spot. I respect his main rival complexity and I was impressed by complexities. Return Time at act without without being an older horse like Mr Dougie fresh big step up from nat class level to face a top championship level. Horse like Omaha beach so I think complexity still has some things to approved. And he's got to do it over a new racetrack. Just think Omaha beach is going to have that home court in class advantage in the spots of going to give him the slight edge even though he's likely to be a much shorter price price than his main rival. The gray one Malibu stakes didn't draw the biggest only getting five but it did draw a couple of really strong contenders here. Omaha Emma Hobby horse coming out of a second in the Breeders Cup Mile. He was second behind spun the run that they didn't have the greatest the trips. He's a horse who was probably GonNa be the Kentucky Derby favorite after he won the Arkansas Derby had also won a division of a rebel but he had some some injury issues or some health issues issues there and was laid off for a while he came back and beat the very fast chance allied in the Santa Anita Sprint Championship. Before that Breeders Cup start so we certainly the deserving favourite his past performances since. He's come back. He's runs a greater than one. Twenty time form. US speed figures but while so he can certainly win this race his horse. I'm not going to be afraid to take a big shot against those aren't great speed figures for great one this late in the race for three year olds and there Ariza horse who has the speed the possibly able to beat him and maybe even a little bit of a tactical edge that would be number two complexity for Ted for trainer Chad Brown around. He's a horse. who was actually really promising as a juvenile? He was only five to two in the Breeders Cup juvenile back last year. Not not this year's obviously obviously as this is for three year olds. It didn't run very well that they look like a horse who maybe didn't WanNa quite go that far any had some issues. He didn't come back till the woody Stevens later later in the year in June I believe is on Belmont Day or certainly Belmont weekend. He didn't run particularly well that they faced another layoff but then he came back on allowance. Race at Acworth duct last month and he just romped and he did so easily with a one time form. US speed figure so it certainly puts him right there up there with Omaha Beach I'm not saying he. He's any great value. He's only five to two in the morning line but I do think he's a logical alternative to the favorite. I do believe either one of these to win. But if he is near those five to two morning line is I'd be willing to make a wind bed on them. When it comes to the horizontal beds I would probably I used both of them? I don't think the rates goes through them. I can't see any of the other three entries winning it so it's complexity for me hoping he gets that five the two the morning line or somewhere there abouts and and Omaha beaches my other use in horizontal. I'm with David on this. I gotta go with Omaha Beach. I think he was the best three year old going going into the Kentucky Derby based on his wins in the rebel. And the Arkansas Derby. It's a shame we didn't get to see much from him since then but what we've seen has been pretty good. I mean he took a top hop sprinter and chance. Lot beat that were on the square. Despite the layoff going six in the Santini is sprint and then he ran this race in the Breeders Cup Dirt Mile. I thought he ran fine. He didn't break very well in this to turn test. He's far behind. He had to go very wide on the turn and by the time. He straightens out into the stretch spun to run. Who Just freaked out? He is as long long gone. I like to try Omaha. Beach showed to get up for second in this race spun to run back this race up by running. A one of five Byron his subsequent outing finishing second to maximum maximum security in the cigar mile. Omaha Beach I think just got hurt by being a little bit too far back angling really wide. When he had to on the far turn? It was a good effort. He draws outside lied. The two speeds in here the baffert trained much better and complexity. I think he's going to work out a good trip and I think he gets it done. Hopefully we'll see Omaha beach in run well L. in this race maybe in the Pegasus World Cup and then likely off to study the Mathis Brothers Mile Nice big field of turf horses.

And she's a horse that does prefer a little something to run into to set the race's up for her first race she didn't really do to a whole lot of running but the second one back she ran a nice second. That was the one this past Friday and though we're speed figures only show ninety three and ninety four for those two races. I think it's largely because of the pace if you watch that last race. She ran through the stretch. She was actually the only horse other winner do in any running whatsoever and she she actually made up a little ground on that one I. This is a horse that started ten times but his most recent try was his first race. sprinting with blinkers and as you see by the video. It just doesn't work out. He was traveling. Sweetly from about the three eighths pole to this juncture. He's still moving very well. Trevor McCarthy's just looking for a hole and he thinks he's found one right here in between horses and here he gets. The old pinch has to steady has to take up. He loses all chance right here at the the sixteenth pole to this geldings credit. He's going to actually make this a little bit closer than probably should have been. He's running on his own at the very end and galloped out nicely he was probably best in this. Ten Thousand Dollar Maiden claimer. Seven furlongs is a very good distance for him. The key perusing his past performances is he needs to to settle off of the pace when you stretch him out to a mile and he shows speed he has no stamina laugh believing man. You saw the trouble. Let's get to some handicapping. The grade. One American oaks is up next. Let's throw up the field for Saturday's grade. One American oaks on opening day at Santa Anita. Miss American oaks if she's simply repeats her last outweighed in the Valley of you at Keeneland in which you're into one fifteen time formulas speed figure. She's probably going to beat this field because she was defeated horses. Like blow out on the MAC bullet some solid east coast graded stakes horses last time and that formed typically translates really well back to the west coast because the east coast to reporters are generally a bit stronger. The problem I have with lady prints lot is the distance of this race. Because she's a horse that has a good turn of foot going the mindless sixteenth mile distance. But I think her stamina might be stretched to the limit going a mile and a quarter we saw to back in the jockey. Club oaks invitational when she had to go a mile and three eighths Belmont relate rumbustious basically non-existent that day. Because I don't think she had the stamina necessary to get that trip and I'm concerned we might see a similar phenomenon. Going a mile and a quarter. I WANNA go for some more value in this race on taking the shop at a vibrance Wa I think is the horse that it's best equipped to get this mile and a quarter distance. Let's take a look at her last race in the red-carpet handicap at del Mar basing some older horses. I think it's significant that she did the best of the three roles in that race even though she wasn't among the most phantom more fancied runners that day she didn't didn't get the best trip Coming to the quarter pole she had saved ground most of the way but she was sort of in behind. Horses has to duck inside about the eighth pole here She was behind tiring hiring. Horace that chestnut coming into the stretch and John Velasco's just has to alter course down inside. You don't WanNa make a horse like this. Who doesn't have a strong turn of foot accelerate in the final quarter the mile especially at a track like del Mar or the stretcher? So short and I think vibrance might get a better trip today. Because there are a couple of speeds in this race in Giza Goddess and so much happy. I questioned both with their abilities to get this mile and a quarter distance. I think vibrance might just able to grind. Pass them and get the jump on the closers likely to prance lot that could give her advantage. EMISS- American oaks the great born American. Extra pretty weak field this year. In fact there's only a couple a graded stakes winners on turf in here. They'll be Muccio. Unusual Lady Prance Salat Apache. Princess did win a graded state. That was an off the turf it and still a great three as of last check But for Grade One The phillies are never going to get a better opportunity to get that grade. One win they will hear our time for. US rates rating for the reaches. Only a one. Thirteen I not just for comparison. That's the same race reading that lady. Prance lots win was given for in Grade Three Valley view stakes at keeneland. Last time out and I I really do think she is the worst beaten here. Mute muccio unusual dim when a great to back in the summertime. She's been facing a little bit tougher competition. She tried right older last time. But I'm going to side with the favourite lady Prance allowed her last last time for M- US speed figure of one. Fifteen is is the best one in this field and I really like how she did it. She had a wide posts that day. She was drawn eleven of fourteen in the field. She didn't save a lot of ground she didn't race with with a Lotta cover throughout and she was still able to wear down the leader through the lane and get up to win at odds of over ten to one. So I don't think that was a fluke by any means. I think thinks he was was by far the best filly that day and I think she is also going to be the best billion here so that nothing. Too Exciting Earth shattering but I am going going with the two to one morning line. Favorite Lady Prance a lot. Well I certainly understand where those guys are going. David likes vibrance off that tough trip last time out bottled up behind horses and really as comfortable at a mile and a quarter lady. Prance lots the class of this race sniff. The pace is fast. She is going to be running late. I'm hoping Giza Goddess can get a very a good trip on or near the lead time for me. US Pace projector that you see in the expanded stakes preview has the source on the lead. I wouldn't mind if she's sitting second I thinks she's rounding back into her form. She stretches out to a mile and a quarter. Let's go back to a race to starts back. This is where I start off a lengthy lay-off and she went fast. Look at those fractions. Twenty one forty five for the half. She steps three quarters in one zero eight and two. She is still on the lead. She is dissuading the horse. I that's been pushing her on the outside and it's going to take a closer that benefited from the pace flow to beat the source late. This was a big effort first. Time back back off the layoff. She ran once since then. It was in the matriarch against got stormy one of the better milers in the entire country. And she just didn't run very well that day. That's fine. She was up close to fast paced and she was overmatched. She's now back in with these sources and she can either get to the leader second. Can't you go a mile and a quarter. We'll find find out but I think the pace situation's going to be a lot better for Giza Gaza's and it's been in her last two races and I think she'll be a decent price on the tote board. She'll be my pick and the American oaks up next Saturday diaw race of the day. The GRADE ONE LA brea. Here's the field for Saturday's D. R. F. Race of of the day. It's the grade one la brea. The horses that she probably has to watch out for the most are coming out of a common race. The Raven run stakes. That's bells the one and first star. We're going to take a look at the stretch runner that Raven run stakes right now. It was a very fast pace. I star is going to make the first run into the lead on the outside outside is bells the one and I think bells the one benefited from a having a lot more prior racing experience than I star and be taking advantage to this hot pace and having the last run be the best run bells. The one is very good but she lacks tactical speed. She is a true one. Run closer at the mercy see of race and pace luck and you could argue that first star Mike at a better trip or ran just as well in the Rave and run Mike at a better trip this time around and she's got more upside with only three starts onto her girth. I like the way she ran to back. Going a mile. Four white every step of the way and getting the job done but they're all going to have to have him nailed on tight if they're they're going to defeat the multiple grade one winner. "I wouldn't be surprised if Nessie takes a chunk out of that percentage. Composed time maybe slowly drifts up a point or two. I think he's playable at around the five to two or three to one range best bets coming up. Time for our best bet segment here on out of the gate. Mike naira analyst to have something at the big a on Saturday. Yeah. Race number four is a little claiming race at a one turn mile. I'm going to go with number four may MO in this race. Or just has been in good form basically all year long since stretched them out over the summer won back to back races. He was claimed out of a start in back in June at Belmont Park. By Ray handle, his most recent star handle came over sloppy track. This source does not like the sloppy didn't run. Well, but he's won both of his other New York starts for handle, including this one to starts back. One turn mile at aquit up. Same conditions is today tracked the Pay's early moved out through the turn took it over and runs away from this field in the stretch. This really likes the one turn route racing in New York for nice wins already this year routing on the dirt in New York. And this is just another one fits really well on this field. He's gotta face a Linda rice big clash dropper in this rates. But if you can handle that horse the source is going to be tough to be really like the celebration. Showed enough for stretch in the race for watching right now. Solid performance. Really? Underrated trainer. Ray handle knows what he is doing. My best bet is at aquiped. One of the two stakes races on the cards the east view for two year old Phillies and my best bitch. The number ten. Take me to hard harpoon who beat the morning line favorite on the east. You the number six sassy Agnes in his in her career debut at Saratoga now after that raise the plan was just going to keep her against New York breads in the maid of the mist instead, Jeremiah Engelhardt shot for the moon and tried the grade one for Zet, and she was no match for subsequent Breeder's Cup juvenile fillies winner jaywalk dropped her back in class. They dropped her back in distance for her most recent start. We're going to take a look at a video right now where she finishes third blinkers came on for this race, the six along key sense stakes. She showed good speech was in between horses. She was outpaced on the turn. We're gonna see her stay on a little bit down towards the inside. She won't get to sassy Agnes. But she finishes an okay third. I like the way she Gallup. Doubt the mile is a little bit of a question more. But I just think the trip is coming where she's going to sit second off sassy Agnes, and she may want the mile just a little bit more than sassy Agnes four to one in the morning line for number ten take me to harpoon. "And if you were just in a coma and you woke up, and you realize that fog on Moore was graded stakes placed and favored in the Robert J Frankel you'd say what has happened to the world. Ain't that the truth? She was not disc good, of course, on the east coast started career, but she's really improved since they shipped out to southern California. Just running one good race after another one fast race after another and she's really used her speed or advantage in those races. We're gonna go back and look at a replay to starts back on the grade to Golda Cova, they put a right on the lead. That's what they do with their out there. She may. A legit pace in this race. And she is just going to get run over late by another east coast transplant Vassiliko. We just another words on a really good run out there. I thought five more ran really well in this race. Dan, the difference. I guess here is does this raise that a mile mostly kept her to a mile out there? She would try to get a mile an eighth on Saturday. I wonder if that brings her back to this field a little bit. That's what concerns me as well. But that race is certainly good enough to win the Frankel ninety nine buyer one twenty four time for pay suggested speed figure, and she could be out there on the lead once again or subsequent start just in a little bit too tough where she had to go a little bit too fast in the grade one matriarch, but she fits great from a class perspective in this spot. But you know, she's going to take money. She's the morning line favorite probable favorite post time. You're there trying to beat her with a horse that might be primed and ready second start back sweet charity in this race just hoping that she second off to life here. And maybe she takes a little bit of stuff. Don't think she has to take a big one just a little step forward in this race, especially with fond more in here. Providing some pays for it or run at sweet charities start off the layout. We're going to look at it right now. A little stakes race at del mar. And she's back off the pace in this race. They in towards the end side, you can see excellent sunset also in this field has taken over the lead that sweet charity. Right. They're coming through between Quebec on the outside. I like the way sweet charity finishes in this race stand. She's only clear right here. She's finally cleared to start running and she's going to put in a nice finish. In this race. Can't get to the top two finishers out in front here. But she's making up ground every step of the leg. This performance from think this was a first start off about a ten month. Layup she was rolling into a race with no pace and the extra distance really plays into her favor. She's not a great gate were she's probably going to be coming from well back, but you can expect a good strong late run for sweet charity, and these connections have been on quite the role the last six months or like celery and Catalina cruiser and gift box on the San Antonio on opening day. At Santa Anita. I'm going with a little bit of a flyer for the number three K Beck in here. We saw Cape. Check in that race. That was to starts that was last time out for K Beck and just in fire. She was a great spot turning into the stretch. And she was just a little bit flat. But to starts back. She gave fawn all she could handle then some with a really nice in out trip. She only got beat a half length by fond Muira and Gallup out past that one. I'm interested in this. Formulator fact for Richard Baltas blinkers off has been a very powerful move for bolt on terp as you can see over the past couple years blinkers off thirty three percent winters, a three dollar and nine cent return on investment. I'm hoping the blinkers off move sparked some improvement for K Beck should be mid pack and might be able to get the jump on the true closers as they all have to try to run down fond Muira, and the Robert J Frankel we moved from Santa Anita. We moved to stream park. It is going to be the two mile HMO jerkin stakes..

"The I think you want to be at least a little concerned about the way this race is going to set up for a colonial 'cause she's a one Ron and closer the Pay's could really work against her. But I was really taken with their most recent race, Dan, first of all she was behind California gold rush standpoint, we looked at before I didn't think that race set up well for her at all, but she ran a deceptively good race. Let's look at our most recent star Keeneland valley view down towards the inside behind horses here with nowhere to go. Joe Bravo is going to make this trip workout for her somehow in the stretch. She keeps finding lanes to Theron and run. She does every move was the right one in Bravo was very fortunate because if he went the wrong way, even for a second this source would have gotten checked we see daddy's little darling. I believe. Cash over the rail all she did was return to run second in southern California with a one hundred buyer, but I love the way Colonia was able to weave away professionally through traffic and still fire on home. She doesn't have a lot of peso ever looking back and formulator Graham motion fantastic trainer. I believe is one for his last fifty it sent to Nita we're hoping he can get off the Schneide with Colonia our top selection in the American oaks criminal McAliskey from time for US heads back east. He's going to take a look at the pace projector for the east view stakes. Then we'll go to break. We'll come back for lots more handicapping. So stay right there. This is Craig mccaskey time for them US for this week's addition about of the gate and this segment I like to take a look at races with a particular focus on the time for muse pace projector, and for that reason, I went with the east view stakes being run Saturday at Akwa duct as recent. It's one hundred thousand dollar stakes race for two year old New York bred fillies going round, the one turn mile few things I want to look at on the preview page too. So you can see why picked it the pace projector is highlighted you. Notice the Red Sea details that's going to indicate that we expect the pace to be fast..

"We are still awaiting the status of the number four Amandine who wants so impressively on opening day at Santa Anita and is not yet scratched from the grade one American oaks. But let's talk about the two morning line favorites beginning with the outside worse. California gold rush. I love the ride she received in her most recent start, although that seems like forever ago. Yeah, they shipped over to to Belmont Park for the sand point way back in September. We haven't seen are sent. Let's go back to that point. 'cause this was a nice performance second off to lay off this Philly who had missed some time earlier this year. She got a very heads up ride from Flavian Pratt in this race. Because the pace wasn't there early? He put her into the race at the right time and California Golders will do the Russia can see or digging in very gamely here. Dan to hold off his rival in the stretch. And it's nice to know that she has that tactical gear because I have no idea where the pace is coming from the American oaks there just doesn't appear to be confirmed front runner, and I guess of California gold rush breaks running. She could be sitting first or second. And they may not be going very fast. Another worse with good tactical? Speed is very very consistent, and that's paved and she's taken on some top competition a mile quarter. Yeah. Think you wanna forgive her for her most recent star where they shipped to Churchill for the Breeders Cup. She was nowhere that day. But you don't have to go back very far to get a good rate. Let's go back and look at the grade one rodeo drive older horses here. She's in against streaking league. Can't get her at the end, Dan. But she runs really well in here to be second best at the end of the day gaining ground every step ninety eight Beyer speed figure. She wants a ninety eight on Saturday. She's a hand. In this race never been off the board at Santa Anita again, this mile and a quarter distances very good for paves, another horse that can be tactical and may not be adversely affected. If the pace is slow our horse, by the way, she's a one run. But boy as Colonia been good..

I got a good trip in this race. Joel was into ride to sat her on the rail just off the pace he took her to the outside come into this stretch. And she's just going to roll right by this field of very easy debut win for this horse who has a little bit of pedigree. There's pedigree for both turf and dirt. And this was very promising debut. She's just going to run away from this field late. Very impressive performance. Believe Dermott manners of former Chad Brown assistant. So we may be hearing a lot more from this barn. We may be hearing a lot more from she takes charge in New York over the winter, my horse, watch wasn't exactly Lazarus rising from the grave, but Todd Pletcher did resuscitate coal fronts. Career off a dismal effort in the grade three bold ruler handicap and his first start in over a year Pletcher didn't panic. "She was in a race where she really overmatched the field degrade three la woman at cnn nida and now the pace was slow but she was able to lay off of it which showed she is a horse who can read a bit uh she didn't need to be up front despite the fact there were going slow that only ninety seven she brennan 88 to that point and i see was still able to win easy as was expected but then she jumped right in or second race back in the breeders cup villian mayor sprint and it was a pretty tough trip by she was dole in on the lead the fractions were not their red and i mean you can see by the numbers zoo was a hot peace we had a one 43 opening quarter in the final time figure for the race was only a one fourteen i've just now learning about the pc side know little bit about it but i kind of highlighted here because it also said that that race the whole flow with a race favored closer so it makes it kind of clear everything was against her that day she battle for a while before given up a finished seventh beaten seven violence but i think the fraction show is a much better referee who is also some talk of the rail not being so good on breeder's cup day on that day i happen to agree with that she she probably just had a really tough trip and she came back in once again in this ratio rated ruin nicely the break the name just came to me rated really nicely in the brain which he had proven she could do to races back i sat a bit off the pace closed into it it wasn't a crazy faster closys crazy slow pace and she won pretty easily as a six to five free burton shoji's back in top form and probably going to be a horse to deal with all year long for the older fillies of mayors.
