'United We Pledge' Is Recreating an American Village in Alabama

"Now, I want to ask you, so you're saying that united we pledge already has something called the American village in montevallo, Alabama, because I had not heard about this till today. No, no, what I'm saying is that Montebello Alabama is an American village. And the united we pledge has partnered with a company called balance of nature and they've procured about 40 acres of land in Utah that they're going to recreate an American village there. That's what I'm saying. So there is an American village in Alabama already. Yes. But I had not heard about this. I want to go to montevallo, Alabama now that I've literally not heard about this. And you should. I hadn't heard about it either until they brought it up, and then when they brought it up to me and they came up with this idea of me running from Montevideo Alabama to saint George, you don't have to break around for this thing. You know, I think that we have a whole mind body, right? You have your gut, you have your heart, you have your head, and all three have brain cells. My gut just goes, go for it. My heart was like, oh, you gotta do this. You know? And then my mind just said, yeah, it's a resounding yes. This is the right time, the right place, and the right thing. So then when I visited montevallo, Alabama and saw with my own two eyes, the impact that this American village had with these kids, it was just like, oh man, let's get going.

Abortion Advocates Riot Outside Old St. Patrick's Cathedral in NYC

"I hope you can watch the show at Salem news channel, our new platform, as well as listen on this great radio station to the Mike Gallagher show because once in a while, just describing it isn't quite enough. Sometimes you have to see this with your own eyes. Now I'm gonna warn you, it will burn your eyes. You'll never be able to unsee this, but this was the scene outside Saint Patrick's cathedral over the weekend. He's got a baby wrapped up in like pink blankets. She is hanging out all over the place and so that we that hold her topic and cover much up. This is like a pop right out. And she's got a baby, a baby doll. But she's ripping apart. And she's doing this in front of a group of young men and women who are praying. For the lives of the unborn. Now she's pulling the babies out from between her legs. Jumping up in there and now she's shoving her out, turn it off. Turn it off, my eyes are bleeding. Can't take any more. The police finally came and ushered her away. Back to wherever she came from. Back to whatever rock she came from out from under.

What Eric Is Most Looking Forward to in the Next Few Months

"What are you most looking forward to in the next few months? Wow, that's a great question. Actually, there's so many things that are ahead. I honestly, I think going to a beach someplace would be a nice thing. But that's not till the summer. We love the summer. And we love to get to beaches when we can. So there are so many things I could say to that. But I'll say this actually. Because the Twitter thing is an example of it. I believe that a God has is answering the prayers of the saints, that people have been praying across this country. They have seen how horrible things have gotten. And many people don't want to know, but I'm telling you, many of us know, we've seen what happened. We never dreamt America could go down this path that you could have an election stolen through vast criminal conspiracy. And then everybody says, oh, it's the safest election possible. Get the vaccine. All of this madness. I think that God has heard our prayers and that we're going to see amazing things in the months ahead. And I want to say to everyone, pray for this country every day, ask God to have mercy on this country because we're the last best hope of earth according to Abraham Lincoln. There's no America waiting in the wings when we go down.

Composer Bryan Miller on How Film Scores Impact Viewing Experiences

"I'm really thrilled to welcome to the podcast Brian Miller. As some of you might wonder as you watch my movies well, who does the score? Who does the music that makes these movies come alive? Well, here's the guy, Brian Miller, he's composed music for four out of my 5 films, including, by the way, the latest one. 2000 mules. Brian's company is called sensory overload. This is a guy he's a composer. He's a music producer, out of LA. His work has been featured on Dancing with the Stars. He's scored TV, commercials, documentaries, speech or films, and he's also done some work with saint Jude's children's hospital. Brian, welcome to the podcast. Great to have you and man, it's so much fun, you know, when we get our movies done and we sort of deliver them to you, we're always, we always wait with bated breath to see what you're gonna do with them, but isn't it true that a score is kind of the, what would you call it? Is it like the emotional undercurrent of a movie? How do you understand what a score does in a movie? Absolutely. The score is a major part of that movie, right? And it's a little bit in some cases a subconscious part, right? That people aren't necessarily paying super attention to it. But it's guiding you on how you feel. What you're experiencing, if you're angry, if you're crying, if you're cheering, music is contributing to all those things. So if you take music out of the most iconic movies in America, they're largely different experiences. Because of what the music is

Lila Rose: No Autopsy Conducted in Alleged D.C. Infanticide Case

"Now these are very serious allegations coming out of this Washington D.C. case Where do we stand now is the D.C. mayor or the authorities going to look into this over there Is metro looking into it What's going on with that case What happened Just the contours of it as it stands now Sure So here's the breakdown over two weeks ago pro life activists were given two boxes of medical waste They said medical waste on them that they were actually boxes of the babies that were killed by abortion outside of the abortion of cesare saint Angeles clinic in D.C. So this whistleblower gave them these boxes live action we sent in my private organization sent in our field where we documented the findings there were images of we've got images of children that were nearly full term by babies in particular looked like they had been maybe even born alive one child looked like she had been the victim of partial birth abortion which is illegal a little beautiful baby girl whose neck had been cut and brain removed Really the most gory heartbreaking findings that you could imagine I mean it's like coming across a murder scene truly And so with this documentation the reached out to the D.C. homicide unit saying listen we have the bodies of children that may have been born alive and then killed we don't know what actually happened that you need to investigate Please hear the bodies and arrange for the bodies to be given over to D.C. police Well the D.C. police homicide unit shows up They take the bodies into their possession and then they say down two days later they say we're not going to be investigating These were abortions and it's legal in D.C. but then they admit that they didn't do an autopsy So there apparently has been no medical examination of these children's bodies no proper examination And yet they're claiming the abortions were done legally whether they were illegal or legal it's still I believe murder It's horrific I mean the children are savagely

The Inspiring Story of Raido GM Barb Yoder

"General manager of the radio station that carries our show in the Tampa Bay Area, really our flagship station since I live in Florida now full time, barb yoder is a pretty amazing woman. She's the general manager of AMH 60 the answer she runs the cluster of Salem radio stations in the Tampa Bay, saint Pete Clearwater region. And she's a pretty remarkable woman. She's a cancer survivor. And as somebody who has followed her for years and worked with her, that was pretty tough for all of us, not to mention what she went through, and yet she beat it. And when she beat cancer, the journey she was on was inspirational to anyone who knows her because being the strong person of faith that she is, she never, ever expressed any doubt or reluctance to embrace the idea that God had this that God was in control no matter what the outcome God had this. And you know that about people of faith, you know that deeply spiritual believers. Understand that no matter what adversity you face, God has this. It may not be the outcome you want, maybe it will. And thank God in barb yoder's case, it was exactly the outcome that we had all been praying for. She beat it, she is fit and healthy and ever smiling and a great presence in my life.

Ashley Varner's Start in Politics, Protesting Against Professors

"Protesting outside your professor's houses? Was that the way I interpreted that? Well, no, we were on campus, but we were right across the street from our professors protesting. Yeah, I've been involved in politics from a young age. I think my mother for that. She had Rush Limbaugh on in the house every day from the time I was 9 years old. I was listening to him, so I knew that I wanted to go into politics. I thought that I wanted to get out of Missouri for a while at saint Joseph was a small town for me at the time, and I just couldn't wait to get to Washington D.C.. Just as an aside, Doug now when I explain the difference between saint Joseph, Missouri and Washington, D.C. to each other, I say the difference is when you meet someone new in Washington, D.C., they ask, what do you do? And they are sizing you up to see, are you worth my time? And when you're in Missouri, and you meet someone new and they ask, what do you do? They mean, do you hunt? Do you fish? Do you have a boat? What do you do? So that's the very stark difference between the two and I appreciate Missouri more and more as long as I've lived in the swamp, but I got involved in politics. I campaigned with my local Republican Party in the 1996 elections. I've still in high school, I went to college Republicans at the university of Missouri. I was the chairman of mizu college Republicans when 9 11 happened. And we got flyers. We saw flyers up around campus that two weeks after 9 11, there were going to be protests against any war, you know, food not bombs, and it was led by our professors in the political science department. So as chairman of college Republicans, I said, nope, let's get together. We're going to have campaign sign making party pizza and we're going to make signs patriotic messages, God love our troops,

George Friedman: How the Ukraine War Will Likely End

"There's a gentleman by the name of George Freeman And a site called GPS or geopolitical futures dot com I was unaware of it I saw it on independent Glenn Reynolds great sight and Glenn Reynolds is a great guy And the gentleman writes in part as we consider how the war in Ukraine will end We must first understand how it began Russia invaded the geostrategic for geostrategic reasons having Ukraine as a buffer state safeguards Moscow from invasion from the west and for economic reasons which have often gone overlooked The transition from the Soviet Union to the Russian Federation wasn't exactly lucrative It may have increased total wealth by Russia remains a poor country Its gross domestic product ranks just behind South Korea A respectable placement but hardly wears superpowers should be in terms of per CAPiTA GDP Russia ranks 85th Nestled between Bulgarian Malaysia Economic statistics rarely tell the whole story of course but in Russia's case they fairly accurately present a country that is poor than it appears mass superficially by a top layer of the super rich elite Life and major cities like saints St. Petersburg and Moscow is luxurious for the wealthy and bearable for the rest Life in the countryside is something else entirely Individual regimes can't be solely blamed for Russian poverty The size of the nation the difficulties in areas such as transport associated with its side make Russia difficult to govern And from the time of the tsars it's been the state rather than Sheridan economic prosperity that has kept Russia together Often this has been achieved through the security services which are tasked with maintaining state power not with building an economy It's a little wonder that the country that boasted the apron also produced a president who cut his teeth in the KGB

"The first appraisal came back at $125,000, and she was shocked. A recent independent market analysis had estimated her home at $187,000. So she tried again and then to get the sack it one and his $15,000 lower. Just a few months later, I just could not fathom. You know, there was this just nagging voice in my head That was saying that there is something wrong. Duffy have a theory and wanted to put it to the test. When she applied for refinancing with a new Linder. She left her race and gender off the application. One of her friends, husbands, who is white, agreed to stand in during the third appraisal before he did. She took out everything that might indicate her race and left her home. She got another shock when she got that appraisal back. Let's grow so fast, and I was like holding my breath scrolling. And getting to the bottom of it to see the number. I'm just like, I don't even want to read it just yet. As one of see the number the number 259,000 more than double the original appraisal, and then it just thinks then. He's just sitting in that What was the value of my home with me? Carla Duffy filed a complaint against two of the lenders with HUD. Neither would comment for this story. But the appraiser with the lowest estimate Tim Boston, stands by his report. Any time I put a report out, prepare with the intention Of having to defend that report. Before a group of my peers. It's all data driven. So, um, it's inherent in the data, and I wouldn't know how to change that. A number of studies have found that black owned homes are undervalued when compared to those of white homeowners. This is especially true in historically black neighborhoods study by the Brookings Institution finds that adds up to 156 billion and cumulative losses for black homeowners. Jamie Nelson heads the Fair Housing Center of Central Indiana and says local and federal policies that perpetuated racial segregation in the early 20th century play into the continued disparity. It was theater brazel industry at the time that supported the very redlining maps. Red Line car, Let's neighborhood and so many black neighborhoods in our city, Nelson says. While it's hard to determine how prevalent the problem is, examples of racial bias and discrimination in the appraisal process have been discussed for years just a growing number of blacks and African American saints. Something's wrong here. They're also maybe a growing desire to address this issue. Had recently decided in favor of a complaint in a similar appraisal discrimination case. In a written statement, the American Society of Appraisers says it supports a focus on why black homes are devalued. It adds that more education for appraisers and more diverse workforce could be part of the solution for NPR news. I'm gel shirt later today on all things considered, India has put a freeze on exporting AstraZeneca covert vaccines. That is complicating the already slow vaccination process in Africa. "86650, Jimbo 18665054626. Joe Drape. Our guest is the author off the saint makers inside the Catholic Church and how a war hero inspired a journey of faith. And this is published by Hachette Books. Now we've been talking about a Catholic priest from Kansas evil capon and the case could be made for him for sainthood. And, uh, we should probably at this point introduced. The father is a John Hotsy. Is that how you pronounce his name? Yes, that is Jim. He was a contemporary priest from Kansas. How did he become aware of the exports? I guess at the time, but everybody was aware of what father Capon had done. No father, John is guy about my age in his fifties who grew up in the same region, hearing the stories about Father Capon, he actually had a prayer card. On the mirror of his bathroom. That was very common in those times. A prayer card is of somebody in the community that you revere you pray to, because you think they will make you a better life, so he had grown up hearing the stories of Father Capon. He has his life. He goes to college late in the world lately, his life he figures out that his calling is to be a priest. He goes down, gets ordain studies for that, and Late. Bishop says. You know what we want to make Father components saint or we want to put his cause. That's what they call it in front of the Vatican, and you grew up with it. And plus you Have some experience in Canon lawn. It's basically going to law school for Vatican Catholic religious stuff, and we would like you to handle his case, and father John was Familiar with it. He was a hard worker, and he basically spent 14 years of his life gathering 8682 pages of testimony about Father Capon talking to people. He served with the prisoners analyzing his writings. People who grew up with it knew him when he was two or three years old. So he collected this whole narrative that then you have to turn over when you say OK, I want him. It's one thing for the diocese of Wichita are meeting you to say we think this guy should be a saint. But when you wanna Internet into this system, you have to A massive information and turn it over to a tenant lawyer in Rome. There's some amazing things that go along with us. You mentioned the average period of time between the death of an eventual state and canonization 181 years. Here's a statistic. I also found on page 11 of the book, The Saint Makers, the average cost Of a cause for sainthood is half a million dollars. What is this? A political campaign? Well, there's that's very perceptive, Jim. Yes, you've got to have a ground game. You've got to have a lobbyist. You've got to have power and Poland for some of us who have had to deal with a lawyer on any level. They charge by the hour and Cannonball is so specific, And there's only two lawyers and Rome canon lawyers who are layman who take up these cases so they can charge what they want. Now, if you're and I don't want to get too much in the weeds, But if you're a Jesuit You have your own judgment. Canon lawyer up there just Getting his regular salary. You're not paying you, but if you're an American who's trying to push sainthood, I ended its worst, saying there's only seven Americans Saints out of 10,000, and only two of them were actually born in America. So we're playing from behind in the first place. And so you really kind of got to get the best that money could buy when it comes to representation in lobbying, and that takes us to a person was a doctor Andrea and Brasi. Yes, Yes, And he is to go to Canon Lawyer for American causes one of only two laymen who are allowed to do it up until 1984. You had to be a priest. Male priests to actually argue these cases they let it go at 84. There are only two guys to who were allowed to do it. He's one of them. So He basically has the cornered the market on American saints, and he could charge what he wants. And then put the time thing if it takes 181 years that meter runs fast and furious right here. Well, yeah, I mean, you never know. A decade here a decade there pretty soon you're talking about real time periods. All right now. Uh, I then we get down to exactly what has to be shown. And I believe there is a requirement for miracles. Is that right? How many and defined by whom? Okay, Two miracles, and they actually John Paul to the pope. Very popular pro produced it from four and elements are twofold. The first is there has to be a recovery from death or near death that defies all medical and scientific. Explanation. But the more important component is that that miracle happened because the friends and families to loved ones of whoever was in danger. Great specifically to the candidate for sainthood. In this case, father capon and said father components saved Chased here Who's a pole vaulter, an 18 year old pole vaulter and every girl woman who was a 12 year olds you soccer player from certain death, and you know, the community poured out their Facebook pages that did it. But basically that shows that in both recovered miraculously and that showed that father Capon was in heaven with God and was able to say God save them. So he had poor your saint candidate has pulled with God. All right now, then, Uh, once this evidence is compiled, as you say, here, over 8600 pages compiled by a father John hotsy on Do you have your advocate here? Doctor in Brasi. Who's the jury? If you will, who must be persuaded that in fact, sainthood is appropriate. Four parts and very briefly, There's a panel of historians, finest scholars appropriate for wherever you are. Then there's the theologian. They just say it's called authentic, authentic, true and in context. Theologians, religious guys who say this man or woman led a life of virtue and is really godly. That that's the first two. Then the medical experts decide if It was. Did it defy explanation, But ultimately it goes to a panel of cardinals 35 of them. They discuss it. And the pope and they make a recommendation to the pope. And he's the ultimate authority. But you know the Catholic Church did. The pope would even tell you that it's God himself that decides who is a snake. And you know that's again. We're taking leaps of faith all across the process is at this point. How did this process a develop? It must have gone through a considerable period of change. I would imagine over the centuries. Absolutely, Jim. You know, ST Christopher's of Saint Even if you're not Catholic, you know he's your Patron saint of travel. Well, he never existed in legend. He.
