Ticketmaster Promises Billions in Refunds for Cancelled Concerts

"From wondering. I'm David Brown. And this is business words daily on this. Wednesday April twenty. Second you know that Katy Perry concert. You're looking forward to okay. I was looking forward to it. Back in the pre pandemic era well Yeah that that's not gonNA happen at least not until twenty twenty one. She said recently. She's not alone either. Thirty thousand shows were cancelled OR POSTPONED DUE TO COVA. Nineteen so far. According to Jared Smith President of ticketmaster. That's the gigantic ticket agency. Owned by the world's largest concert promoter live nation. And it's not like those concerts and ball games are coming back anytime soon. The mayors of New York and Los Angeles don't anticipate allowing any large scale gatherings until there's a cure or vaccine for the corona virus according to variety at the earliest. That'll be late this year but it could take much longer and that uncertainty is causing a big problem for ticketmaster. The company had fantastic year delivering one hundred fifteen million tickets in thirty one countries in two thousand nineteen ticketmaster sells more than thirty billion dollars worth of tickets annually in twenty twenty was predicted to be a banner year that is until Corona virus now ticketmaster. Meinie refund billions of dollars in ticket sales late last week. The company announced that it will refund some ticket. Purchasers starting on May first customers who shows have been cancelled or who don't want to attend them on rescheduled. Dates can apply for refunds. They'll have thirty days to do so customers who shows reschedule later. We'll have a rolling thirty DAYS TO APPLY FOR REFUNDS TICKET. Masters new policy is almost exactly that of rival. Ag which announced it's refund program a few days earlier but ticketmaster is also using a big incentive to persuade customers not to ask for refunds so it can hang onto some of that cash according to variety if a show is cancelled altogether customers can take credit worth one hundred fifty percent of the ticket cost in the plan called Rock. When you're ready customers can apply that credit to an event to be held when the world opens up once again ticket masters. New Refund policy follows significant complaints from critics who claim the company's been holding onto customers money unfairly in response. Ticketmaster explained that it doesn't keep all those billions of dollars in ticket sales rather every week pays concert and festival promoters out of those proceeds so far this year that amounts to more than two billion dollars. The company said at a tweet normally ticketmaster has little trouble refunding tickets for cancelled events but when the entire concert industry shuts down overnight the company needs to recoup those funds before it can issue refunds from a corporate perspective. It's one mammoth cashflow nightmare. But it's also a nightmare for people who are suddenly unemployed and who need those refunds to pay the rent or buy groceries people spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars on concert tickets and now in the face of indefinite postponements. They need those funds back. But lack of clarity in delays around refunds is made some customers so angry that they're turning to the courts. Matthew Mcmillan a national hockey league fan in Wisconsin was aggravated that ticket. Resellers STUB HUB hadn't refunded the price of tickets to a suspended hockey game so earlier. This month filed a five million dollar class action lawsuit against the company according to Billboard magazine. Stop Hub resells about five billion dollars worth of tickets. Every year like ticketmaster in order to issue thousands of refunds. It says it first needs to recoup the cash paid to the original ticket holders in some ways stubs. Problem is even more tangled than ticket masters since its tickets come from thousands of individual sellers and think about that for a second if your brain let you the original ticket holders purchase tickets to live events that are now cancelled or iffy. Where'd they buy them? Probably ticketmaster or A. E. G. Stop up now. Says IF AN EVENT IS CANCELLED IT WON'T ISSUE REFUNDS. Instead it'll give ticket holders a coupon worth one hundred twenty percent of the original ticket price that credit will be good for a year stubhub said in a statement late in. March. By month's end the company said almost three quarters of ticket holders had accepted the credit but that class action lawsuit filed by the Wisconsin Hockey Fan. He says he bought the tickets on. The basis of stub hubs longstanding. Money-back guarantee. Now he's asking the courts to forbid stubhub from issuing those credits and force it to refund the cash according to billboard the customers lawyer accused stub hub of quote putting its hands in the customer's pockets at a time of the greatest. Financial suffering in recent history stub declined to comment on the lawsuit. According to The New York Times. The refund mess is just one of the problems hitting the entire music

Mike Schultz, CSCS, CPT - Head Coach and Founder of Highland Training

"We were talking a little bit before we started recording about the difficulty of actually making your living is an endurance coach. And I know there's a lot of people with personal training with coaching etc. It's very easy to throw out the co- the term coach and sale. I'm kosher I do this or I do that. But the people are actually saying. I need to bring the money I need to be qualified are few and far between so when you see somebody. You're at a bar your coffee shop or something and they say what do you do? What's kind of your thirty second elevator? Spiel Mike Schultz in I do. I coach endurance athletes. I I mainly coach cyclists and the majority of them are mountain bikers. You know we spoke about this earlier but the trend is a lot of people are starting to move onto dirt and love racing their bikes Certified specialists in the strength and conditioning field with the And have you ever certifications and been coaching for eleven years Fulltime been coaching racing. Basically learning the sport in the Science for over twenty years now. So you know that's what I do do full-time into work hard for every single person that comes through my door. I'm always curious and I know there's a fair number of people who will be listening this to say this is why endurance sports and I know from reading your bio and looking at your webpage for highland training before you coached you actually worry participant in these things. So it's not somebody who's just standing there with a whistle saying you do it because this is what the book says you've actually experienced. How did you get into doing endurance? And Ultra endurance events. Do did you do that in high school runner in high school? No I played hockey house actually a goalie in high school and I loved playing hockey but post high school hockey league's went on for so many years and Then amended Meyer early twenties. I started discovering bikes. Actually I think it started covering bikes when I was like eighteen nineteen Running around the neighborhood and Just loved riding in started Seeing these guys going fast in SPANDEX. And Hey these guys look fast and I was kind of interested in that. You didn't really get heavily into racing until I was about twenty five twenty six. It's kind of a life. Change happens and quit the job and moved to the mountain road. My bike every day and worked part time and from there is where I really fell in love with going long and seeing the views the scenery. And you know on early morning misty mornings in your climbing mountains and there's no one around it's just I dunno it's addicting so that's how I got into question I always have to ask because I have to get it out of the way whenever I interview or talk to somebody. Who's a cyclist? You've probably heard the equation. The perfect number of bikes is plus one. Where N is the current number. You have so. How many bikes you currently have. Well I have a few bikes and I have a few bikes. That are not even operational right now. I am not the Tech Guy. I just like to feel fast and fiddle bike. Always have I always will I get a bike and I ride in till it doesn't work and then I get another bike and so I have just the basic necessities. I have a really great mom by specialized jumper and I have a doable road bike. an elise actually lease. I think won the world championship this past year. So I'm on aluminum bike. I'm still proud of it So yeah I just keep those you bikes. That gets me through the year wintertime indoors outdoors around as much as I can keep it pretty simple so and you mentioned how you got into cycling by seeing people wearing SPANDEX and often when you see people spinning by on the road you bite the the road cycling thing and you get into criteriums and maybe if you have the opportunity some stage races but you didn't go in that direction. You went in the direction of off road. Why did you do that? Or what attracted you to the off road when you first saw the people on-road well I. When I moved to the Somerset seven springs area. There was tons of trails and for whatever reason all my friends at the Time Road Mountain Bikes and actually I think I remember my first mountain bike ride. It was a night rod and it was late at night after a night of celebrating and it was short and it scared the Bejesus out of me but it helped me on night writing. That's how you know just mountain biking in general. I think seeing my friends do it. And no one was really into a ton of road routing back then I was like in the mid nineties There were road rides. That were happened. Races were happened but they're away. More Mountain bike races happening. And then you started winning about West Virginia and what's Your Genomic series and I started participating in those races back in the early two thousands. And then it's like okay. There's this whole world here of mountain bike races and trails and this is fun so that's where the addiction to mountain biking came in. And I know I've talked to a few people who exercise outdoors and end up in the mountains around the trails and there really is something about not having to worry about cars and people buzzing you as you mentioned the misty mornings. Sometimes you're focusing on the training. Sometimes you're just focusing and going while look what. I just saw right exactly. I don't know it's just a voice. So yeah anytime I'm in the woods and through the trees and you're pedaling that ribbon of single track and you're flowing with it and with today's bikes. It's way more fun because you remember twenty years ago Bikes Way Different. V brakes and none of this disc brakes hydraulic stuff. Going on so yeah only world and I used to say I don't need disc brakes hydraulic brakes. I don't need front suspension. I still have a hard tail but hydraulic brakes in front suspension or now a requirement for me. Yeah absolutely. I don't need a hotel. I've never ridden a full suspension. And Yeah I've just like the simplicity of maintenance wise. That's why I only have a few bikes because I don't have time to spend a lot of time in meetings which all my friends knew so along with me you can add to. I told the Lane during our interview with her that I blamed her for spending a lot of money and on bikes because she and her ex husband started Derek. I'm curious though you drop down the rabbit hole of doing mountain bike races. Doing twenty four hour races just being in the mountains. What was it that made you kind of turn the corner and say okay. I'm going to start coaching too. Because that's a big step upwards or changed just saying I'm going to get on my bike and ride a lot. Well it all started when I put a Hari Monitor on in the early two thousands and I became fascinated with heart rates and then over the next six seven years. I started learning that there were a lot of people out there but didn't know how to interpret a heart rates how to use them and they weren't using the right information so that drove me into wanting to learn more on the street side of things and I think it was like two thousand six I got sort of a personal trainer author the sea. And at the same time I met a friend and he was like you need to get your because that can teach you a lot of science and so then the next few years I I pursued that and it wasn't until after that I then said okay. Now what am I gonNa do with this because you know you can maybe go into Footba? Can maybe go into hockey. I love hockey but I was like. I'm so in the cycling. I should stick with cycling and then when I started seeing the cycling community I was like Wow I'm strength. Conditioning coach and I can be a cycling coach. And then that's when all the heart rate in the power info and as we talked earlier iphones and technology and then it just blew up and then all of a sudden now have all this data studying came fascinating and that's pretty much my quick

I'm leaning all of a sudden I toll pick and sure enough. Pot goes into the corner. I'm am by top speed so I fly into the corner. face-down waist down hit the boards and I'm like Oh my God. Are you kidding me. Campbell opened up the Zamboni game out here and you had to skate and I could hear other guys on the bench laughing at me. So I feel myself off the ice. "And in ways that hasn't been done before. And we did that because. In the National Hockey League, the tough guys who were primarily enforcers and that was the role. We're losing their jobs coming to the American Hockey League. Right. And then we had another generation of guys who were looking for those type of jobs in the NHL and essentially in a lot of American Hockey League games. There were continuous fights between enforcers from the two teams that had no relationship whatsoever to the game. It was those guys trying to establish the toughest guy and get to the top of the ladder to get what they thought was going to be working the NHL and the guys coming down. I think new, there wasn't going to be working in the NHL, but they wanted to keep making living, so they fought all these you, so the amount of fighting our league was more than you want, and it was primarily the same big strong guys fighting each other all the time, which was had no impact on our game. You know it was going to have a significant impact on those guys health. So that's when we stepped in and so fighting continues to go down in our league continues to go down in the National Hockey League in as you say, the juniors of, of mandated essentially out of there. But you really sensitive to your league is very sensitive to transgressions against the rule book, and I more emails. Shell's suspension. Yes. Then I get from anywhere else. Everyday there's another Email from the American League with so and so he's been doing for two. This guy's been doing for four and listen. We are a long way away from a no, you're very upset when this happened. I was told you livid at the Perez Jorgen Stafford unfortunate incident from so many years ago and it is a much different league right now. And even now it seems as if the American Hockey League is really trying to even more so fine. Tune behavior on the ice, not just fighting. But Elliott's points, headshots stick, infractions all these types of things you see more suspensions in the American Hockey League than you do in the NHL for two reasons. One of them is in our collective bargaining agreement, we don't use fines, as a deterrent..

"Mike iota Craig Berube e even the first few weeks under Craig Monrovia, they were still playing along that same level hadn't found a rhythm. They figured it out. They turned a corner they end up creating one heck of a season for themselves and to finish with a ninety nine point season speaks volumes for not only the coaching staff. But the way the players bought in and what they did what a year when you look at it in the end was just amazing story. It really isn't every every season. You look at it. Like a story book is a beginning middle. And there's an end at the beginning wasn't what the blues expect her or not even close really to where they wanted to be the expectations extremely high and the team were seeing right now, this is the team that Doug put together. This is the team that every team across the NHL for that matter was looking at the state with boosting while this is going to be a great team. Look at the depth look at rhino rally. It just took a lot of time. And it took a lot of time. They need to be patient. But they clicked at the right time, you mentioned Craig ruby the first few weeks you sorry. Seeing something coming something was on the horizon as far as this team. It was close the games. They were losing they weren't much. You get blown out by Pittsburgh. But they score for four power play goals. Five on five. It was there. It was just missing link here and there Jordan Baynton comes in and to me really solidified the back end and Jake Allen was playing terrific down the stretch there. I think they were inter- inner team competition was terrific. I'm watching this team here in in to me, the core of it all they like each other. They're playing for each other. I'm watching Alexander's teen a couple nights ago with you Chris Kerber on the power play. And everyone's out there smiling and trying to get him to he steps over the boards. And Brayden Schenn kicks them off goes back on the is because they want it just the camaraderie is there every good team every stealing Cup champion team. You ask about talk to David about the Las Vegas Golden Knights last year. They like each other. They enjoy other there's camaraderie in that locker room. And when you have that that to me is we're all begins in this blues group has found it. Great job the coaching staff. Doug Armstrong, the players, especially the fans. Sticking with it for you. And I for the patients we've had it was Souso hard year back and forth for everyone. Amazing thing. And and just hearing a lot in your one. We saw we saw some peaks and valleys, but just hearing you say that's the end of the regular season. We'll see in the postseason that's a pretty special common right there. And I'm excited, I know everyone and Saint Louis should be excited as well to Craig ruby finishes his first stint as coach of the Saint Louis blues in the regular season with a record of thirty eight nineteen and six thirty eight wins since he took over the fifth best in the National Hockey League. Wanna put this into perspective here just a little bit as well. The means record is in any gel. Head coach is one hundred thirteen fifty seven and thirty four that really is spectacular. And I'm gonna give you another number as it relates to Craig Berube e and this number when you look at what he did in his short time also as a head coach in the American Hockey League. So he was a head coach with the Philadelphia with the phantoms Philadelphia. His farm team. He was a head coach, of course, with the Chicago was the blues farm team. His total record is a pro head coach is tool six one zero five and fifty five points percentage of six thirty. It's outstanding. What he's done as a head coach. I asked him earlier today. I said if somebody says to you, what is your philosophy is a head coach. How would you describe what you've learned so far isn't as a head coach in pro hockey, and I really enjoyed his response to it was it had several points to it. And he basically said one he sees the job of a coach is to make sure that his rare that the players are prepared to play and are given all the information they needed to be prepared and performing a high level. He said the second thing he asked for all of his players is to be aggressive be aggressive in all aspects of your game. Whether it's with the puck or weather without the puck, be aggressive. You're gonna make mistakes if you make mistakes, I will put you back out there so long as those mistakes are being made because you're playing hard you. Remember the last game after the third goal in the blue said too. Big league news, extremely frustrated on the bench. We asked him about it. He said because I don't like soft place. So that's why he was mad at his team because they are making soft place. So he said him number two. Is aggressive, and he said and the other thing he demands it his players, no matter who you are. No matter what age you are. No matter what star power. You are is that you never put yourself ahead of the team that team comes first. And he said specifically, it doesn't matter if your bladder MIR Tarasenko if you're Ryan Riley, if you're Alex portraying Gelo, if you're any top player he asked the same thing for all the guys if you're David baron. He asked that you do what you need to do on the ice and in the room and away from the ice. And personally that puts the team first and I'm thinking, all right? That's three out of like John wooden twelve now, you know, coaching pyramid there. But I mean, it it it really it rings true. When you hear him say that to how this team turned things around in the characteristics of that team that we now see heading into the playoffs. It really does. And you mentioned all those intangibles the aggressiveness, and and I've seen coaches in this league that push the team to be aggress. They pushed their players to work hard. But it's not that easy to do. It's not really thing of Xs and os, it's personality motivator. And what I think he is he motivates the personalities of this team. And we had a great discussion as a couple months ago. I believe we're in Boston said everyone's different. You gotta motivate guys in different ways, and you mentioned Ladimir terra Cinco. And and to me the fact that he got his game going in a great direction. That is probably the biggest and best connection. I think he's made to a player because that is the leader that is the offensive soul of this team in the heartbeat and the offensive zone the power plays a shot again here tonight. It's just it's lethal, but Vladimir Tarasenko he skating, he's being physical. How many times have we see him back checking and break up a play that could end up in his back of his death. Three goal lead in Alaska diving play. Yes. And he saved a goal. Those are the kind of things that Vladimir Tarasenko is doing and listen Vladimir Tarasenko is a goal score. He's from Russia. He likes hanging in the perimeter. He likes power play goals thinking like Alex Ovechkin, but he's found a new level to his game through the motivation. Craig ruby. And to me that is just one example of this incredible job Craig has done. He harps on aggressiveness. He harps on accountability. And I remember talking Zach Sanford about this one is that really mean how does that does that ring? He goes when I turned the puck over I come back to the bench coaches all over me. He's yelling me unacceptable. Saw play get it out. Right. What else he goes? Well, let them tear single does it too. It's the same response. Vladi? Not good enough. Soft plate get it out. What's wrong with you? So he holds everyone accountable and so many times in this league. These coaches are surrounded by these superstars and they're afraid of them. They're afraid to call players out there afraid to embarrass them in front of teammates. And and you think you're protecting them. You're actually hurting not only them but the entire team. Craig ruby does not do that. He'll call you out if you rhino rarely I don't care exact Sanford and McCain's McCarron up here washing from the booth here. He calls them all out. It keeps. Everyone honest keeps everyone accountable, and it's just created such a great culture in this team in the culture is again getting. Back to everyone just pulling together. Like each other. You need coaching in need players to need them. Both in the blues. You're getting them. What do you have for tonight's by three stars in the I number three here tonight? Brayden Schenn he and opening glove. He was terrific all night. He was moving his feet. We mentioned the leaders and the top line reading number to join Bennington. I thought he was exceptional when need to be he made those as but really was the shootout shutting that door and shoot I was getting my number two star number one. We just talking about Vladimir Tarasenko. He had that huge goal. He actually drew two penalties here tonight one when the boots on the power play actually scored as well hard hats, undergo petro, I thought this captain played an incredible game here down the stretch to last game this season again, very tough game to get motivated for when you pretty much break down the whole situation. I thought he was skating. He was moving his feet making small place away from the play, and captain my captain, you're going to be my heart winner for the final game of the regular season. Right. Wait, a reference dead poet's society. Now, let's go see if we can suck the dead Merrill out of the bones of some. Moments in the playoffs. That's the way that goes that movie. It's one of the greatest movies of all time curves. That was about as violent as Doug Armstrong. No don't wanna do the movie. I know I know Wanda. Maybe rally back to you. Join you for the fourth period. That sounds good. Hey, how about this one two headed into this post game show curbs rhino Riley ends the regular season as leading the NHL face off wins four more than Boho vats. And I which is incredibly this year Selke winter. Yep. That's going to be fun to talk about tonight. We're going to do extended post game show until eight o'clock this evening, plenty more to get into the blues beat the Canucks three two in a shootout tonight. Alex Ferrario with you..

"He's always going for me. I don't care if he does well in it or not because he's a great player as like, I remember he didn't wanna do. You wanna go in the shootout for many years? Anybody who it? I mean, I'm sorry. I'm the coach you're the player your hall of Famer your guys words goals figure it out you're going. I'm not having guys asked me afterwards. Why I sent only yoke and not you're on their Yager. It's not happening. You know, whoever it might be, you know. So for me, I you know, those guys are always going and key spots. All right couple just a couple of quick ones. Okay. All right. Good. Mo what will happen to the devils? You know, I think the devils were everything went right last year. Right. Everything went right by Taylor hall had a year of lifetime. He was great. He was healthy for most of the year. He was the VP was great carried them offensively. And a lot of ways Nico. He sure came in as a rookie and was really a good rookie and played very very well not playing well this year, but he played very well for for first year player, Paul. Mallory was good. The guys they had them defense. You know, they had a little bit more depth undefended. When you think they still have John More at that time and then goal Schneider. Started off the you're okay, then he got hurt. And then keeping came came in and played really. Well, I mean, I can remember that long road trip with keeping cave winning games in some places, and he was a terrific. So everything went right for the devils last year and this year Taylor halls and this a lot of time. Now with injury hasn't been as he he's been good. He just hasn't been as good as last year. The goaltending has been a real problem Schneider as has not played. He's just gone. He's just going on and having going to play in the American Hockey League. I guess now. And try to get back to the NHL in. Kate hasn't been as good Kenny block with his come in. And it's been good. But not great. They can't win on the road. So I mean things are just not gone as good as they did last year. I still think the bigger picture for the doubles it still they're still in the midst of a rebuild their and they're going to need some of these guys they've draft to come in. And and be good players for them in Kabul's octa when you look at that draft and look at the other players that were drafted around two. You're probably shaking your head a little bit. You're probably going boy, we we could've done better here. And you know, Mike McLeod, you might start thinking the same thing there. He's got to become like a player for them. So, you know, I think the devils big pitchers. They're still rebuilding. And you know, I like John Heinz I like ratio. I think they'll figure it out gave Hines a contract extension a couple of weeks ago. And finally Chris wants to know will Wayne Simmons be dealt by the deadline. I would think so I think he will. I mean, he's I mean, the flyers are kinda be I don't think the flyers are gonna make this late charge. Get in the playoffs live been playing better. And I'm happy to see Carter heart playing well for young guy goal. But I get the sense or not gonna make it. Now. Do they resign when Simmons and get him on a long-term deal? I think once they signed van Rene's like last year, I made it I think that made it hard for the flyers then add or Keith Wayne Simmons. So I think there's gonna be a number of teams that would be interested in having a guy like Wayne Simmons. And so there might be a little bit more there. And if they can create a bidding war, Chuck Fletcher and get some nice asset returns like it's the sin that Wayne's them as we'll get traded. It'll be interesting to see where he ends up already. Right. This to longtime common. Thanks a lot buddy. Yeah. Yeah. Say listen good talking to you. I'm glad to hear the kids are doing better. I hope Nancy is feeling better. And I'll get to work with you know, might people in the business on the Don the Greco reality show how it'd be a doozy. I love it..

"You know, there's like no structure. There's no coaching at all the through the first day coaches like power play like a board and like walks away. He doesn't probably speaks English what's going on. Now, these guys wanting speak English either. So guys just like do their own thing and buzz around everywhere like no hitting or no fighting or anything. It's it's but these guys go in there. I was have so much time with the puck. And you're like after while you just get confused like fuck on hold on a little bit more pass it. I I don't wanna shoot I wanna pass. It was one of the guys comes up to me. Like, I must have gave him fifteen passes that game. He's like I gave them another one. Or I didn't give him when I shot it. He goes teddy. I open open. I score. I'm like if you're fucking always open. Why are you in the cage? Oh, aren't you? Fucking in the NHL with Ovechkin shut your mouth, always all open your forwards snipe. You can snipe when four guys I if you. Next time I opened that. I know, you know, you don't pass go God teddy. We're going to back it up a bit. And I know you probably hated being in Russia now, I guess you can compare it to the American Hockey League because the year before I was with you, you kind of got shafted. A little bit LA started out with a you got sick. Maybe didn't start off on the right foot there in obviously, you know, Sutter's pretty I five are two hundred foot game kinda guy maybe not your type of system. And then I think you do it though when you want like let's call spate of Spain. I mean, they they kind of blackballed ball from the beginning. And just talk about your experience coming down to the American League. That wasn't really big piece of humble pie to actually. Yeah. It is. But you know, what? There was a good group of guys on our coaches awesome. And Rob Blake play with. He was GM there at the time. He's no, no, obviously. But he let me stay up by the beach and promotion like I felt bad for these kids like bossing all the time. Blakey was let me fly out at LAX meet the boys on the road. So like they sent me down. But he didn't kick me when I was down still. So it was it was pretty cool him to be able to do that. Then the guys are down. There were all awesome. We got to listen to biz everyday like Tories ACL's like six times like three weeks. We were down there. Just making making his own food and bring in top award of the oh, wait. Get paid all summer if I tear the other one teddy hold on like rip my ankle and half here. Insurance. He was just like trying to separate Shutler like stepping on his toes trying to break them. That was a tough year for me. So thanks for kicking me while I'm down. That they fought I got to go to the rink everyday. With two tornado. Seattle's in watch. Teddy play. We had we had some good times. I mean Faulk we we had a couple of good fun trips who went to Tucson a couple of times. Closer to my Mike. I'm getting the wave and sorry about the death. Look bend. Then you have roommates on the road to forgot about that. When you go down to H else, but they the pleasure room and with biz future. All we would just we go to sleep. You just throwing NHL games chirp every guy. Better than that fucking those mostly petty. I yeah, I know I know them up. Yeah. I know I'm on. So that guy I like, I is when they retire and they hate hockey. They're like oh, fuck, right? Should be so playing like it gave us so much the game. It's awesome. Like be happy. I want everyone to be rich. I I love when I see guy sign huge tickets. You get all these old miserable. Fucks so mad. They didn't make money. Well, all right. I mean, yeah, you would probably better than I was. But I made more money you shouldn't hate me for. 'cause now I see guy signed huge tickets. I'm so happy for all of them. That's the same. Now. People are giving you could come out and still play hockey. I'm like, I couldn't even play in the coast business all star. There's probably could. But I still don't think I could play. These games are way too fast. They call. I never stayed anyways..

"That way the save of the season. Ecalating on Sydney Crosby. And I thought for sure is gonna get cleaned. And then when darling dot hurt the other day, I was like, he's going there because he's not making a ton of money and they're gonna have a high waiver priority. I bet you they didn't see picker coming. I would bet they thought it was going to be the goalie this year in the in the American hawk even Philadelphia has some dings. There Carter heart sent down the h. l. I thought Winnipeg might have been looking for a backup netminder as well. The ad he's from there and Philadelphia would have had a better waiver priority than Winnipeg. Although, you know the interesting thing about bras, why is he trained with hell buck all summer. So I wondered if they thought they had some chemistry there. I don't know. Good question. We know when Hextall said the other day when they asked him about Carter heart going down to the miners, he said something along the lines of, you know, I like for guys to stay down there, but circumstances may be different this year. Maybe I should have seen this coming, but I would think the Toronto didn't think both of those guys were getting. Claimed they go there and try to get a goaltender now for the Marlies. Well, you know, what else are you gonna? Do we're gonna find him. I mean, you can say, we're gonna go internal and let are even younger kids have a chance to play. They do have other goaltenders in their system or you go out and you find something. It's interesting because because of the choices they made with their roster, they had the best defense in the American Hockey League last year. It's going to be thinner than that now because of the guys who are staying up led by Martin Marin some guys and he's up. Yeah, and I think it's going to be released because they really value their American Hockey League team. I'm curious to see what they do with it, or they just say, you know what? We're gonna give chance guys were here. All right for three weeks now for the sort of the podcast for three weeks. Now every time I've seen you, you've been carrying the same book gridiron genius. Have it in front of you right now? Are you actually reading it? The prop book, all the books have Aleve around the house just to let people. Think that you're reading it? Mine is infinite jest. I'm gonna. Justice your, I'm gonna Lehrer here because Jeff Blair told me the story news covering the Jays. Remember the Jays head Miguel Batista knee had on the book. We'll Jeff was convinced that it was. It had never been beyond page three, and it was just there to make people think that he read the Gandhi book. No, I've read this. I'm almost done. You know what? I am really trying to spend less time on social media this year, and you know, read more. It's just as you know, it's hard. So I'm almost done and I'm looking forward to my next book which is called bad blood. You mentioned this off air. This sounds like a fascinating. Well, there was a company called throws, and they were basically, you prick yourself and you Lena about your DNA and your health situation top to bottom, and it turned out the company was a billion dollar valuation built on, lies in the and the reporters names John Kerry when he wrote a book about investigating the company for great things about it. And it's next one of my favorite sports props stories was told me by John Shannon. We're working to game and Ryan Reeves was fine as when Reeves I think was was Saint Louis.
