"Tell you truthfully, Hamburg. It's funny. I just luckily got back from the trip with the Marcus and eggs avian and we were talking and I l and we were talking. I was actually talking about Eric Weddle, one of my clients and how much money he would have made had he been back when Utah was part of the Mountain West Conference, and Eric was defensive player of the year two times in a row. Mount West player Of the year and people wanted him to win the Heisman Trophy because he was so good in college and he was everywhere. I mean, I can't express to you for the small city that Salt Lake City is Eric Weddle face was everywhere and Utah utilized him for years and years and years and he appreciate it and loves it and respect the program and bleeds red and white. And obviously we have a great relationship with universities and the football program there. But I always go back to if this had existed, then he would have definitely been a million dollar guy like I mean that in all sincerity That's not saying it as his agent, but it's crazy to think. That I am now going to have to. Theoretically, I guess some agents are going to do this start watching American Heritage High School. And freshman year kids that are ninth graders and pastor Tain puts him on the field, and they start getting three and four stars and then try to follow that kid to college, and he ends up at Alabama. He ends up at Clemson and then keep that relationship with him so that I can then go pitch his mother and father 20 minutes away or 10 minutes away from my house. In Fort Lauderdale Plantation in hopes that I would then sign him to an N I l be able to do four years of marketing deals for him. Hope that he stays healthy. Stays out of trouble is a starter is a productive guy gets an NFL draft grade. And then I get him drafted in the NFL and represent him. I mean, The lunacy of that, Uh and I really mean it's lunacy. But there will be agents and agencies that do it. There will be agents and agencies that put together freshman programs. Hey, we'll give a kid $5000 as freshman year will give a kid $20,000 a sophomore year and by then If he's not good will realize that and we'll just dump them right. And I think that that's one of the problems in this sport. As you will see players get dumped by agencies because they're not pro potential or they're not marketable as not Enough, and there might be you know, there might be some collateral damage to this whole thing. I'm hopeful that that doesn't happen. But I just know the way some of the bigger agencies work where now they're Costco. There, you know, there's Sam's club where their mindsets less signed 2030 40 guys a year and they'll get hurt. And who cares? Because we have 2030 40 guys next year. You know, I can't run my agency that way because I actually loved these players and care about them and know their moms and dads and their families. But I do see that there will be that in in the whole, you know, Start chart the kid from his freshman year on and hope that he's good enough to make it to the NFL. So you get your big return on investment. By the way, the the lunacy of it is not only do you have to follow for the four years or five years that he's in college. But then you have to keep him as a client for the four years that he plays out his rookie deal because the big money doesn't come until the second contract, So you know it's potentially a nine or 10 year investment. To hopefully get 3%. If the guys you're going to pay that, and you're fronting money the whole time, you know to me just saying it out loud for the first time, Amber. It makes me realize how completely ridiculous that concept yet You have a lot of work ahead of you. NFL Asian David Canter. You were great. Thanks so much for joining us. Any time. Thank you. Yes, Happy fourth. Yes..

He came in and kind of Lord his shoulder to come in and make that tackle and he stayed on his feet. But after the play, he was favoring his left arm kind of the forearm area. He's going to go into the medical tent for the Gators to get that checked out. I live in a way to go in the first half. Florida 21, Georgia 21 2nd down and nine from the 18 yard line. Nothing call by the officials. But that's where you heard all the booze from the Georgian side. I got a chance to take another look at it. I think it's a good card and think that there was actually any tugging of Jersey and pulling. It was just a little bit of a hand. Checking that Tommy was a good call will be 2nd and 10 from the 36 minutes into the second quarter of shotgun snap comes back dogs keep it on the ground this time and White Donald up by Slaten for loss of the yard's TJ Slaten. Well American Heritage High School in Fort Lauderdale. Um, there's an American Heritage game last night with a quietness. Wasn't it A pretty good match up down there in South Florida? Bill? You live in that area, So there's 11 guys this game today to play either American heritage. Thomas needs absolute factories for high school support. Six from a minus five from American heritage on the 3rd and 11 4 wides, this time for Bennett. Out of the gun drops the throat throws it on the run on the over throws his intended receiver along the right sideline. That was Burton kind of slim that on the run, and he misfired, and it's fourth down. He had a window to Bill. He had to get outside the pocket because a pretty good pass rush coming. Inside by Britain. Cox Jr forced him out of the pocket, but he just kind of air mails, this one over the top of his receiver, not really even giving him a chance to make a play on this ball..

"Is special six QB pressures three tackles one assist 82% grade number one graded d-lineman in America. The only thing he doesn't have yet is the birth X I mean, he's a split second away from multiple sat games. He's got to get his sax up. So he's got to just whatever it is. They gotta scheme it up to get in there cuz he's dominating teams. He's playing with our linebacker of the week. We talked about in preseason Chazz Surratt. The former North Carolina quarterback talked about in preseason. He had nine QB pressures this week number one in the country this week 13 year. Also number one on the year. He's pressured the quarterback more than anyone in the country at linebacker eight. Unassisted tackles one tackle-for-loss one sack one pbu versus Boston College at that but he is I'm telling you I love this kid story. I you know about gesture at you. Gotta go look at it was a quarterback have flipped over to linebacker. Now, that sumbitch is a damn All-American caliber. Rdb of the week two of them tcu's Corner know what Daniels simple. I mean, he he just locked down every receiver that the Longhorns throughout him. They could not get open on him. He had they were one of six pack on targets. They only target him six times only completed one pass for 12 yards three p be used to quarterback pressures. He was a stud and a thorn in Tom Herman side and the last one and I'm not going on him too much but one of my favorite guys I've ever recruited Tyson Campbell the corner at Georgia. He he played phenomenal. He was going against an nfl-caliber receiver and he played great and I'm telling you just wild to think if you think about this Tyson Campbell at Georgia and Pat surtain the second and Alabama to no-brainer first round corners that are playing right now and go to leave this year off the two starting Corners at American Heritage High School in South Florida down in Fort Lauderdale, unbelievable the high school of Torrance Gibson Anthony Schwartz, you're watching at at Auburn Elijah more dead. At Ole Miss. I'm sorry Elijah Moore was Saint Thomas Aquinas two of the powerhouses in South Florida though st. Thomas Aquinas in American Heritage. You want to talk about NFL caliber players in high school Saint Thomas took us and an American Heritage. So those are players the week really outstanding week by some of these young kids. And now we're going to start something a little more negative but a lot of fun it is are not lawyers of the week what we're calling duck-duck-goose. There's a duck in the room and a duck is someone on film that you say that guy's a duck we can go after him and just I mean eat all day long. So the duck duck goose duck in the room. The first one is the college football Merry-Go-Round. Everybody gets a turn and has fun, Texas Corner Chris adimora..

"That brings me back to the. Didn't I didn't plan on asking but you remember that guy that got just absolutely hammered and eventually fired for asking. Jeff occurred at the combine playing sloppy. I think Cain was thinking David Arnett. I maintain any double bent maintained. He was thinking. Ohio state defensive backs in. Just mix it to you. Think that's a possibility. Yeah I mean I I. It's one of two things. He was just asking general question and thinking that he he certainly didn't didn't Know Jeff Okuda Because Jeff Okuda done gives you who you are. He's GonNa call you out on it. I mean you can be a coach. The head coach a player like him and Baron Browning were two that were so like genuine respectful but that was his biggest issue was he asked the wrong guy so it was either that he thought it was our net or he was just asking a question that you could probably apply to almost anyone generally to see what they would say and he just didn't know that he was asking the wrong guy who never plays sloppy and that's going to call his ass out. You know what I mean. That's absolutely. Yeah so the next question I had was Onto recruiting It's about really all we can have to look forward to and Right now on the stand down but It's going good. Looks like for a high state right now but I wanna know how things are perceived as Egos on staff or you know. Maybe there's no broad brush rule and maybe it's all just it. The you know the egos of the coaches themselves and it changes coach coach. But I think you have good recruiters at places like Ohio state goes great recruiters. I think you know like when you there you and L. J. were probably ones. That would be great. And you know I don't know about stand you know you have guys like Stud and in other and maybe Tony Alfred who were good recruiters right Nowadays you have heart line. Who's Gray Eljay? Who's great? I think Alford probably still a good category that can change but in certain times you know. It's not uncommon to say like Brian. Go with him or Hazak. Go with him on these. You know you're going to help recruit this position because it's a need in the position coaches not killing it right now. So is that just unspoken like hey this guy's a good recruiter in we can use help elsewhere or do does it. Bruce People's ego like hey had to call in the big guns to come help you seal the deal now. It's really A. It's always a joint effort to get the job done. Don't get me wrong. There's plenty of egos. There's plenty of nonsense and I. I WANNA address one thing. You said I the reality is this and this is people. WanNa hear this. Probably because they want to think everyone would allow states just the best recruiters in the world. But I've lived it. You're at Ohio state and this is not biased. It's really not just I don't know how to make it more honest. You're you have one of the best products in the world to sell and the head coach is involvement with urban. Meyer was phenomenal with Ryan Day. It looks as good or maybe even a little better like you. Don't even have to be that good to be good like you. You really do you can just I mean manage it and do a decent job and people are gonNA think you're really good at it. That's just the reality of it so when I look at guys that are hotline. That are just killing it. It's like all right so he is really like he's really good. You can give him that tag because he's killing it but the guys that just do okay. It's like they're not. They're not that good or or they would be killing it also but yeah most of the time. It's it's a joint effort in a group effort on what's the best way to get this kid. And who has a tie and who has a pull where and I know like with Dwayne Haskins. As it came down the wire I was messaging with him on social media. Just because I had met the kid a couple times and I had built a decent rapport and urban with Tex mealtime like hit dwayne. Keep going after him. And I'm not re- recruiting him at all but urban knew that I would build a bond with the kid and help and so and no one one. I don't know that anyone even knew I was talking to him. I wasn't stepping on anyone's toes trying to help and and the reality was no one gives a shit. If we get the kid and people move on I mean someone might have a little bit of a bruised ego but they'll get over it and ultimately. I know this when I went when I recruited Ben Victor. There was no one getting a text saying hey texts that Ben Victor Kid because you know help Zac out. So don't try just do a great job and the head coach isn't worried and no one else is getting involved. You know what I mean. But now that's one one aspect of it. The other aspect is like the Guy I've recruited with the most was carry combs and he was. I would say slightly better than I was just because he was so relentless at recruiting and and I would always try to learn from him and I know he learned a lot from me also so it was very good working relationship but we and to be honest. I don't know I'm trying to think we signed maybe one or two corners and the entire time together but we went after some big ones and they were some of my most proud accomplish. Not even accomplishments processes. I guess is the two we had two corners in American Heritage High School. One Patrick detained went to Alabama. And then Tyson Campbell with the Georgia. We lost both of them. I I don't know that we were going to get them. But Kerry left for the titans around the same time so that killed us but anyways we would go because that was his position. It was my area. And so we would tag team recruits these kids because one. This is a big boy battle and I used to talk about that. All the time is big boy battles or is it just like you go to recruit a kit for Cincinnati. Like you're GONNA have to put in the work you're going to have to beat Notre Dame. You're you're going to have to beat Michigan but other than that. He's got to get the kid. You go down to south Florida and try to get the number one corner in America. You are seeing anyone anyone's name. You've seen on twitter or coaching boards or anything. You're seeing them. They're like you name it a big time recruiter from whatever school. They're from. They're all there so now it's almost like you're You're at the Oscars with all the other actors. You know so now. It's unique. I needed carry combs with me. I needed urban with me. I needed as much firepower as I could have to try to walk in there because I knew this was the big dogs like this is the show. Welcome to the show. You're here and so there was also situations like that where it's not. Necessarily you know one of the better recruiters helping maybe a good recruiter average recruiter. It was like no we need every firepower. We possibly get right now on this kid. Yeah makes sense because like you said areas have to do with it and I know my where I live now. Seven five seven was kind of your spot and it's not you know Jalen homes. It's not like you would say. Hey Hey Larry. You're going to need help but it was like you said it was necessary because of this is a big time football area. And that was your place and probably the same with Toronto at Mitchell in the other guys you recruit Outta here. It was like urban used to always say a great recruiter because you kind of gone away from areas but a great recruiter. Once he was R- recruited jalen homes as a freshman. I recruited to Rajasa Freshman. I recruited those two corners. I mentioned his freshman. Like you get. Because you're in the area you get to know these kids as young kids and you start to build a relationship. And so if you're urban time a great recruiters never gonNa let go of a recruit that he has his hooks in like. Why would you ever do that? Like I saw hotline. I don't follow recruiting as deep as you guys do. But I saw hotline was heavily involved in in one of the Corner Siamese or not signed. He's commitments right and And it's like if you're a great recruiter. You Start Bill relationship relationships with a kid and his coach and his janitor and his mom and then all of a sudden all right the position. Coach evaluates them and loves them and now he's going to jump in on it. You're really shitty recruiter. If you just let go and let him take it over because ultimately we're all trying to get the kids we want as a staff to build a team to win and so if you just let go of a kid your shitty recruiter and I never did. I would refuse to and then it would be it was more like we'd have little cluster meetings like me. Graciano and Kerry Collins to talk about these corners. What we're all going to do and I would give them the insight. I had you know what I mean and it became a team effort. And that's that was the only way to do it. Successfully makes sense paints a clear picture to hear you say like that I it was. It was fun I used to love it. I mean I hated being away from my family but I used to love just the I don't know the chase because I felt like we had something better than others. It's almost like selling a very expensive nice car. You're selling Tesla and you're going against a shitty car and you're like it may look pretty but I know what's under that hood and I know when I when I'm bringing you is the best of the best now. I I know what you mean. I used to actually was recruiter for the navy for several years under the Ohio district in I would recruit and Kentucky in. That was Kinda. Hear what you're saying because my motto was you know I'd never have to lie to these kids because honestly what I'm offering is better in doesn't need dressed up like I'm going to get you out of the mountains due to a steady income in in a lot of training so I don't have to lie about it probably similar to what you guys felt with the brand selling itself sometimes and and the reality is most schools have to sell their school like Texas has to sell what they're doing their success what they're going to offer a kid and Ohio state. You just gotTa get them up there and they can see that was. My biggest thing was all right. How do I get this kid here? Once I do I'll I'll spend the quality time with them to build a real relationship. The place will sell itself are people will sell how genuine they are. It's like I'm I have like a Bazooka and other people have guns. It's it felt so empowering it really did yeah it makes me wonder what a guy like. Paul Chris would do at an Ohio state. Banner is if he's really tapped out..

"Most wonderful the time of the year college football season is what two weeks away three weeks two and a half weeks and roughly the opening game what august twenty four th or something like that so we want to start doing everyone else is doing talk about things. We don't know about what's going to happen week one. You have no idea you weren't you know you right. You weren't in the training camp you. You weren't in the meetings. You don't know how florida developed over the last thirty practices i mean you you think you do because you watched the first ten minutes of practice and left and read some blog posts heard what colin cowherds said yeah well stephen a smith. That's that's where you really learn your stuff college football so we're we're gonna. We're gonna join the party. <hes> we're going to dive in <hes> we. We just talked about the first quarter the first <hes> four games of the season and i think that's the only thing we're going to preview the city preview ohio. State michigan is an absolute waste of our time nine your time. Everyone's time everyone else is doing it but i don't really care because i'm gonna be honest ohio state michigan. We don't even know who they are the teams that are gonna play november we we don't even know who they are. No no idea the team you see week. One is not going to be the same team you see at the end of the year so we'll dive into that that part of the schedule later but we want to dive into week one week two week three week four so we're going to pick one or two games kind of game of the week or games of the week and dive into them deep dive and just want to kind of give you our thoughts and preview the matchups because because it's it's an exciting time there are a lot of really good matchups early to there really are so when a dive in week one and i think there's there's two games. We're we're only gonna dive into one. I think right now but there's two games that i think are nationally relevant. <hes> obviously other upsets can happen but the biggest game of the kickoff this a kick off to college. Football is the heated rivalry between the gators of florida and the hurricanes of the university of miami. Yeah it is it is is going to be awesome down in orlando kind of that midway point. The state is gonna be rockin. It's not the o._b. No so this is a heated rivalry every twad. It's it's a long storied rivalry that they actually don't play every year. Which is kinda disappointing. 'cause it's disappointing but it's as a heated rivalry and right. Now i mean they've played. I think let's see sixty. Five times and miami holds the lead at twenty nine twenty six so it's a very close rivalry <hes> other than the fact that miami has won one eight out of the last ten matchups <hes> they've only but they've also only played twice in the last fifteen years and they've split so as far as recent history like if you have a high school age kid he's. He's only probably will be seen miami. Florida play once so one dive into it though because i think it's an intriguing matchup 'cause i think both teams are going to be good and this training camp development and in some of these question marks they get they get answered are going to tell the story and the tale of how this game is going to go. Miami has the new head coach main ideas yeah th-the eh the bazaar off season where mark richt <hes> retired he they wanted to make some changes on offense. I think probably speculation they wanted him to fire his son <hes> <hes> he does. He decided he'd rather happy marriage and decided he's going to retire and then the new mini d. as became head coach at temple two weeks later became the head coach miami so he had a he was actually the only undefeated coach ever in the history of tampa. Yeah he probably be in the hall of fame one day <hes> but the so they got a new a new who <hes> newman running the ship in miami and manny e._s._o. It'd be really excited to see what is demanding as <hes> miami because because we saw it was under mark richt it was actually <hes> i've thought an improvement and so we'll see what man can do and how they can get that offense going so we'll start off <hes> this analysis with <hes> the first phase right wh- when florida is on offense and miami is on defense. What is that gonna look like. <hes> i've given we've given our thoughts on on florida's offense fleet bay franks and they're they're wide receiver core quite a little bit <hes> but to reiterate i think fleet banks have a breakout junior year for sure had him ranked overtake verge ache from i did we we talked about at the beginning of the show not because he's better than jacaranda because he actually has some receivers to throw to small caveat. I can't play quarterback throwing it to the neighbor. Neighbor's dog so fleet by franks looks have breakout junior year and and i think dan mullen will ensure. He is even better this year than last year. You're on some of that's going to be natural development. I think dan mullen accelerates that development and the biggest thing is florida returns and extremely experienced wide receiver group georgia vans. Did you hear that experience i didn't they were the best in the country but they're very experienced meaning. They have played a lot of football. <hes> i do think van jefferson will be one of the best wide receivers s._e. This year and they have tyreek cleveland and <hes> josh hammond coming back who also were starters last year <hes> and they have some younger kids some trayvon grimes and a couple of other kids. That looked make an impact. The real question here on offense is going that'd be will they develop into a nationally significant group or dynamic group will that group be relevant on a national stage as a group not just an jefferson and will they provide provide philippi franks with the firepower to have an outstanding year. That's going to be the real question in throw game and then the so that's that's a question. At least they have experienced there. I think a big question florida's offenses. The line is a major concern major. They're replacing four stars. They are returning their center which is a critical leadership and and mental position for the lineup front and that'll that'll give them a apex of their own line <hes> but but the other four starters are up in the ear and they have some talented kids but there's no experience and we'll get into that matchup issue in a minute and then they have a running back <hes> <unk> trine who is poised to have a breakout year if john hennessy can get the old line ready for this week one matchup <hes> i will tell you this an inexperienced. Oh line is a huge concern in general but when you have a match up like like this in week one. It's absolutely terrifying yeah. I think <hes> john heavy. I know you have experienced with them. He's a really good old line coach. I hopefully he'll have them ready. Have them ready well. I mean he's gonna. He's gonna have them developed. Obviously he's going to he's going to have five guys ready to play. It's gonna be a matter of ken. They handle miami's front. Seven because miami's front seven is loaded. I mean they have just so. Let's look at it. Miami has six returning starters charges on defense <hes>. They have four all conference hopefuls in their d. n. Jonathan garvan is an absolute monster. <hes> they have two linebackers are all conference hopefuls corner tra <hes> <hes> that is supposed to be phenomenal now they're secondary is of concern but because they have to replace three starters in the secondary so so you look at the matchup rightfully pay franks and a slew of experienced wide receivers against an inexperienced secondary if florida can protect him they got a chance to really score some points yeah get some things done and the real question is will the turnover chain disrupt for fleet bay franks or we'll be turning over miami fans stomachs. I'm so annoyed by the turnover chain is point. I wonder if man that's that's probably a manny thing right. He was the d._c. Maybe they'll all wear them. The whole team will wear turnover chains. They got a bunch of new coaches on defense to obviously yeah i mean i yeah 'cause obviously manny was d._c.'s. He became the head coach <hes> they blake. Baker became the the defensive coordinator <hes> they brought him in. He was the louisiana sanitec he was at louisiana tech with the and at texas and so he's kind of his right hand man. I know diaz doesn't wanna call the defense. That's why he brought him blake baker to call his defense. This will be manny de as defense you just going to have his protege calling and then they they gave a title to to f uh-huh banda guess. I'll tell you what he's a co d._c. Cody's can't stand it. You'll hear me bitch about it. All the time cody see as the biggest bullshit colo see assistant associate head. Coach is the dumbest thing in the world. It doesn't mean anything it's a way to make you seem cool. Resume look good. Give you an extra hundred grand. It's so stupid so anyways blake baker will be calling the defense and it'll be mandy d. as defense and <hes> so miami's delight i think is is is going to be really good. I know they have <hes>. We talked about jonathan garvan. They have a couple of the guys returning. The one guy i'm really excited to see is getting nesta <hes> they call them jade silvera. He's from american heritage high school. I recruited him larry johnson when we recruited him actually dubbed him. He said he looked at me. Goes holy shit. That's warns that two point oh he's unbelievable and he's he's like warren sapp. I mean he's six foot. I mean he's short works. He's he's like bb landers for ohio state fans. He is short levered guy with a lot of power. That's explosive. He'll watch out for him. He's going to be disruptive this year and their linebackers. You're absolutely loaded. I mean they have to project conference guys in pinkney shack quarter min zach mcleod coming back so the front seven is gonna be legit so i think the real real question is and we just kind of already touched on his will florida's. Oh line protectively franks versus an experienced in disruptive front seven florida will be able to get it open. They have experienced receivers talented receivers fully bay. I think we'll be able to deliver the ball and executed a high level but ken front can align and protect him long enough to let him go to work. Florida has a running back but can they moved the front seven of miami. That's a real question. It's all going to be on florida's align when they're on offense and ultimately dan mullen john have billions they have to have a great plan to hide deficiencies developed weaknesses the this the next two weeks and they got they really have their work cut out for them to move the ball and score miami so that's when that's when <hes> miami's defensive floored boorda's an offense now flip sides of the ball. Let's look at when miami's on offense and florida's on defense so miami's offense they have a new o._c. Danny knows who was <hes> bama's quarterback coach last year <hes> <hes> he's been so he graduated from the nick sabin <hes> school of coaching so that's promising already he was the guy that if you remember he was the head coach at central michigan <hes> twenty ten through fourteen thirteen right around then <hes> obviously that didn't pan out well but he's an excellent offensive coach very well respected. I'm excited to see what he brings on offense. <hes> <hes> the biggest question mark in miami is i mean in this. The college football world down in south florida is who will play quarterback is tate martell the answer. I hope so i'd like to watch him. Well i mean i fortunately i think he's whether he is the answer or not. He's going to be the quarterback i i don't. I don't know that they have anyone that can really. I mean they have the kid mukasey perry who we play who played last year and we watched him. He struggled <hes>. I don't know i don't think he's a an elite college quarterback. So the one thing tape brings is he's highlight reel waiting to happen with his feet and so he's got that going for him and <hes> the real question they only have four starters returning on offense and and the ultimate question here is going to be if tate mortels the guy which i'm sure he will be. He should be just for his his his. This jury will big playability alone can he throw it to win. That's the question can he throw it to win. 'cause i an on you f- i just gave todd grantham three hundred k. this regain a big race so todd grantham better. Bring it against tate. Martell 'cause tate. Martell is going to have to go beat the the the big money man down in gainesville now say this miami has an elite titanium brevin jordan as a kid out of that we went to high school at tate martell. He was up our top <hes> athletic tight end on the board when we recruited he's he's like a a hate to say it on aaron. Hernandez this type of guy like he's a very big receiving tight right end. That is very athletic tate. Martell is pulling the trigger. There's obviously a major chemistry between the two they they did it for three years in high school and now they're back in miami doing it again and then <hes> their receiver group is a little more concerning their jeff thomas returning and then they got a kid from the portal. Oh how now they've got an alien of the portal they got an alien from the portal buffalo's finest in caja osborne <hes> so we'll see how he transitioned from buffalo oh two big time power five football but <hes> that's that's obviously a slight concern for them. Well the weather's much nicer sure yeah. I'm sure i'm sure he really love their winter conditioning. We're outside. I can hear the ocean utter that helped him focus yeah and the one thing they do have that. I don't know how how well people know but they have to borderline top. Ten receivers coming out of high school in mark pope jeremiah peyton. I love both home coming out and i think both of them are primed to have a break breakout second year for mark. Pope debut for jeremiah peyton because the th they're not loaded at receiver and those are two young talented kids that i'm excited.

"We don't care what you have to say or what you're going to do. It's it's over over. It's done so i get a phone call. <hes> we had a workout. We go through the workout with my players. I'm put him through workout. Do some drills get off the field field. I get a phone call from brian. Bortolini says hey <hes> gregg wants to meet with you now. Urban said big ten media days and so i go to meet with gregg giannotti i already know. This is not good so i go in there. She noah puts his phone on speakerphone and sets it down and i'm on a conference call. I guess you'd call it with jean smith and urban meyer. I want to preface this and say i've known urban meyer. Since i was three years old. I get people think that that is some like blinder reason why he he hired me or kept me on staff which isn't reality but i don't care. You can think shitty coach have fun. I don't really give a shit but i've known so i was three years old. The last thing thing he ever said to me was zach. One of you know we're making a change. <hes> need to clean your office out. <hes> tonight and i was speechless like i. I had a feeling that he he might have to do that. You know kudos to him for making a move. He felt he had to make but now a year later. I've never heard a word from urban meyer. Now you go through the texts. It's hilarious at eleven thirty five a._m. Shelly was texting urban about how i was going to be fired eleven thirty five a._m. I didn't fire till like seven thirty p._m. And shelly said i worry because he drinks a lot and has anger issues and she said text mickey not lynn what kind of self righteous shit is that first of all shelly. You don't have any idea if i drink when i drink how i drink second of all you have no idea five five anger issues but i'm glad we appreciate your input. Thank you and text mickey texture now outrageous but you know what a ten pm it was announced. I was released and then urban texts is to recruits and people after are hilarious amazingly all the stuff versus zach. We'll get legally dropped and he was fired meyer said in a text tough perception world we we live in. He was fired for commutative stuff. I will not tell media no no no no no no no no no no no no herb. I was fired because usa came to to the pressure of media and administrators. There was no reason to fire me at that point. I've said it a hundred times you could fire me in two thousand fifteen would've would've been righteous would have been justified. I can't wait to to go through this process in here. Why was i fired. When i was fired <hes> yes he was trying to get rid of me right bad decision to hire me. That's what he said right bad decision bad decision. Well wait wait a minute now on june fourth in two thousand eighteen amir month and a half before i got fired you can see it in all the techs. He put me in charge of the entire freshmen class to make sure that they had a great transition from high school to college. Certainly i was degenerate coach right. He put me in charge of entire our class june fourth two thousand eighteen right there boom i it in charge of the freshman class a guy. He was trying to push out a guy who's trying to get rid of. I don't think so like i said after the firing communications where it's hilarious to read because i wasn't privy to any of it. He said the tech center staff all made a decision to release zack from staff core value violation and commutative issue win the moment most important thing his team and players at this time meyer said in text to a redacted recipient zero conversation about zak's pass issues. We need to help him as he moves forward team in players. Thanks we'll discuss plan when i return wednesday need to help him as he moved forward so just out of curiosity was is up. How was that help because i was fired without cause and here's what ohio state did. Here's a high stay classy classy classy move. I was fired. I signed a contract six months earlier. Gene smith never signed it. <hes> one of the other systems had at an issue with a clause in their re. Write reworking on it so essentially they fired me and gene told me man. We're going to honor your contract. We're going to pay oh you through the end of your contract because we don't want to just throw you out in hurt. Your your kids like that so we're gonna pay. Your contract never happened real classy move. So how are you going to help me regardless regardless. Why here's what text everyone's talking about me alabama. No one cares about that. Why has been talking about this text trace armstrong trace tracy trace. Who is tom her wtn's agent urban agent. He's a big time agent. I think he he senses dropped urban because of this whole mess he didn't. He didn't want any part of it. <hes> he texted urban and said we're going to send these two girls. I don't know who they are. Two people to your house. They're going to need about four hours with your phone and some time with you and shelly okay. What what are they going to do with his phone for four hours. What detroit's armstrong want urban phone for four hours. I four <hes> so interesting and the best part so irrelevant. We're talking about it because because it's it's a it's a story i guess but this is just mind blowing that this is news that this is still a story that this is even a headline all right anyways. I'm done with that ran. I just something that popped into media and everyone wanted to talk about and <hes>. I'm just glad to be done talking about it i do. I did want to talk about my visit to tuscaloosa because tuscaloosa really different place really cool place. I i really enjoyed it. <hes> it was cool because i i went down there and i already mentioned it but it was kind of a mutual i went down to to meet the staff meet sabin me see alabama alabama for what it is so i can make a decision and also they brought me down so they can make a final decision. I mean it was one of those things where you it was almost like a mutual meet and greet <hes> so i went down there and i really got got to get a decent feel for it. I got to tour facilities which were were really really nice that now at the time i i would put them ahead of ohio state now with the new house eight renovations is probably neck and neck ohio state might be slightly better just because they're slightly newer but anyways one of the things that i've never experienced that sabin is big on and did was he did kind of like a speed dating thing in which is where you went and spent three to four minutes with each assistant coach and so i went around and met every coach and sat and talked to him just bullshit for three or four minutes i think so i feel out the staff and so the staff could feel feel out me and it was really different. I've never heard of that and it was cool that that he did that and i guess he did that with all potential hires or new hires and then then went in and just dove in in the staffroom office staff and talk football <hes> talked about scheme <hes> different plays play calling gain planning <hes> they were really just getting into what they got away from jalen hurts into what they did with to <hes> and so they were looking at what we did with j. t. barrett and we were talking about what they would with jalen hurts and some of the run queue run game stuff and then some of the run pass option stuff. It was really really awesome conversation with a high level coaches so we talked about that. We talked talked about play calling game planning what i did in my career what my beliefs were really just talked about kind of who i was as coach in my identity and then how it fit with their identity entity and then really dove into wedding with sabin was most interested in was wide receiver technique. I mean he had me sit there and go through all my drill tapes every drill. I did did really tell him why. Everything was the way it was like why would why is that shoot right there. Why is that cone right there. What does that pop up dummy do it distracts receivers is and you go you go through all these fundamentals and i'm sitting there explaining to him why i do what i do and it was really different really cool <hes> and he's he's obviously was playing devil's advocate quite a bit because he's a secondary guy and and <hes> it so we went through that and then after that just kind of he left and we kept talking all can football with offense coaches and and then i went and met with nick sabin which i talked about kind of that conversation but <hes> we also conversation about <hes> kennel sheffield which is mutual the ground 'cause he was played at alabama transferred to do co. Came to ohio state obviously played for us and we talked about him and and brought up the fact that kendall sheffield was like a sniper you you guys would catch the ball. Tuck it in the minute. It was about to be tucked. He'd punch it out. It was unbelievable and he was telling in saving talked about how he got. It is all a turnover circuit. They did it before every practice ten stations he got from bella check and they just would rattle through each turnover station or each turnover drill and i noticed the difference prince in candle sheffield different from our guys then there was really cool and then we kind of went down saw the meeting room saw a kind of all the locker rooms. I ran into jerry judy who i recruited really the hard and he's he's. I've i've already mentioned. I think he'll be the best receiver in the country this year. I don't <hes> it's just my opinion. <hes> then we went out to eat and when we went out to eat <hes> we went to get dinner at someplace place right by the stadium and the main strip there in tuscaloosa and i ran into pat certaines senior who if you don't know who he is his son now plays it alabama he he was great n._f._l. Player the head coach at american heritage high school in fort lauderdale and i it was funny because it was really us in alabama. Were recruiting the hardest. It was ah those two and l._s._u. Were in knee deep with him and i'm sitting here interviewing recruiting men so i'm down you know meeting with alabama and in in walks past thirteen senior and i was like oh shit he goes oh man we brush and tell anyone we saw each other here <hes> and it was really but it was fun. He he's a great dude and one of those admirable things that i've seen because a lot of guys high school coaches ended up getting college jobs the really good ones and then there are some that get them because they were with. Maybe they had a great player in college is really want that player and so they they signed him and i actually brought pat up for our corners job when carey left because i think he'll would be a phenomenal college coach. I mean judy played n._f._l. Forever he's really well respected guy and a really good football coach so i brought them up mentioned in he actually ended up pulling out because alabama was looking at him. We were looking at him and he pulled out. Did something really honorable. Which i think is what a great father does is. He called me and said hey listen. I appreciate it man. I really do maybe in a couple. Oh years but i just don't want me going to college to have anything to do with my son or influence my son or or have any issues with my son. Everything was about his his son and i thought that was awesome. I mean really cool because that's that's a rarity and who knows if he gets a chance to jump again. I mean you're talking about alabama. How state is hard to turn those down but <hes> yeah he did it. Then we went to dinner hanging out kinda just eaten talk and get to know each other and then actually got to meet to to a came into to see michael oxley got to meet him. He seemed like an awesome kid. Just young energetic shooting just came off playing in the national championships. It was really he was high on life. <hes> <hes> and then i talked to coach is about when they pull jalen hurts and how hard that was..

"Another two to Akhundi strikes out swinging got him with the cutter on the inside. That's a good start for Sean Anderson, one away. All right. Let's spend a couple minutes. Sean Anderson, Sean background check. University of Florida. He was gator of passed up in high school. He was draft in the fortieth round, by the Washington nationals you pick in the draft. Yeah. My guys in the Boston. Red Sox selected him in the third round of the two thousand sixteen draft and, hey, real nice start with the giants, Sean. Thanks for coming on here for a few minutes. Let's start from scratch. You just felt I'd rather go to college for a short time, then go in Zeh fortieth round draft choice with Washington. How's it going is going on morning? Yeah. I mean that was kind of a no brainer. University of Florida was grade school to go to for education in baseball. So when I got that called the fourth round day they offered me, and I told like a we're on a Florida, not really not really where I wanna be at, at that point. That's what, what was cool though. I was going to say about your debut is to how many members of your family were there. Exactly. So it was my mom dad brother trainer from back home. Best friend girlfriend and my agent. Yeah. Now, the TV did a great job of, you know, whenever something went year way they were right. Read on top of your family. It was hopefully you've gotta tape for that to save for all time. Did you know I didn't I'm sure though, better show, mom and dad doing doing their thing. We nervous. Obviously felt a little tangle. But was this something where you go man? I've never felt this way making your major league debut. Not too much. I felt pretty comfortable at pretty ready. Most prepared I had Aramis catching me which which was great. Because he's called me a million times in the minor leagues. You know I feel pretty comfortable. I scouted the Blue Jays for a little bit. I had a game plan. And I was ready to go, you know, who was your team growing up. I say you went to American heritage high school in plantation, Florida where you were you a Marlins fan rays fan Yankees fan. Who's, who's your team as a kid actually grew up watching the Red Sox a little bit. I really enjoyed watching Curt Schilling pitch my, my aunts from Boston, and she lived in Tampa for a little bit with us when I was growing up and she always had Red Sox games on. And I watched them with her and kinda grew up, just watching the Red Sox. That's cool. And then they drafted you we mentioned that you were drafted high school by the nationals, but out of Florida. The Red Sox took in the third round in twenty sixteen. Would that had. Be an incredible thrill. You probably had no idea at the time that they were interested. We'll talk a little bit about that day. And what that was like, I'm gonna spend a throw. Awesome experience. I had my mom. My mom with me in Gainesville. And the Red Sox took me, I, I was told maybe five minutes before that. The Red Sox were about to take me and I mean that's dream, you know, to get drafted, and that's where you all your hard work come into play. So when they announced my name on TV that as the Red Sox, I mean, that's a, that's a dream, right there. And I was excited to star pro ball ready. And we were finishing up at the college World Series. And I was ready to be shipped off to wherever they need to be. Yeah. Cup more minutes. Sean Anderson, new giant, we're getting annot I would imagine growing up. You're always good hitter because, you know, especially the first game you get to base hits. And I just looked like. How about this? You don't hit like a normal major league pitcher. You like that. I like that. Yeah but you were grown up your good hitter. I actually never hit high school. You're wow. We had we had a designated hitter in high school at American heritage. So I just mainly pitched and then I went to college, and it was pitch or, or hit and obviously pitching and didn't didn't hit in college either. And then came to pro ball and drafted by the, the Red Sox, I didn't hit with the Red Sox either until I until I came here count from then or you just lucky. Was it a day? So last year I wasn't a very good hitter and going into my my off season meetings. Dave brundage. Hey something you really work on this off season? Is you're hitting. And okay, so I actually worked with air, miss this offseason on hitting a little bit. Not a bunch, but on hitting a little bit. So I kind of had a out kind of a base on hitting. And then now I'm just trying to put the ball and play. And then this, this spring training at work, a lot of bunting. So I think just just putting the past year has helped me a lot. We're trying to show. Anderson giants righty on the guest line. Of course. Giants and D-Backs go tonight, the first of the weekend series, July twenty fifth twenty seventeen. That was the day. Bobby Evans traded add water Nunez, to Boston for you, and Gregory Santos. And then I saw you pitching. The futures game may be was that was at twenty eighteen was last year in the futures game. What was as far as that experience because that's like, maybe your first go round in a big league park where you nervous for that futures game. That was that was awesome. There, there were so many people in that stadium. I I wasn't I mean. Seem like that. I mean, there's always nervous going, I wouldn't say I was nervous. I was on excited for that opportunity. I got to represent the giants in front of thousands of people and, and against the best town in the minors. You know and. Great. And it was it was an awesome experience, like I said to represent the giants. Yeah. That trade was crazy. I had no idea that, that I was gonna get traded either. I got a call at midnight that said, I was traded and didn't really have any formation. Some we'll call me and cows a heat shock for me, but I was looking forward to the experience after I talked to you, and Bobby Evans after they welcomed me to giants, the I'm always curious looks like you're going to be up at the very least for for a while. The giants put you up in a hotel, you get an apartment, how does this work? So, so the giants do great job. They put shipping hotel for a little bit until you till you find somewhere. We go on the road for for about a week, we can half after the Sunday. So I'll be the hotel till then and I think I have apartment lined up for when I get back. But right now all my stuff in my car and. Live out of my car right now. That's all right. And there's no way like go to the giants and say before I get this apartment, I wanna make sure I'm going to be rolling with you guys for while. No. The giants do a great job. Even if you don't they make sure you're comfortable housing and everything. So I really pride them on on care of their players for sure. I love watching you pitch so far. I mean you definitely a four pitch guy, you know, mid nineties on the fastball, and, and curveball change pretty nice little slider. What would you say is your is your, the strength of your of your arsenal at this point? Fastballs a month, I suppose my strength since the base of all the pitches and really worked on this year. And AAA starting spring training was making sure that all four my pitches could be pitches and all four my pitches could be thrown anytime they count, you know, and, and just given that Bixby. Well, so all four for strikes at any point as really has really helped me this this year, so far so something that I worked on. And but I mean you always got to be able to your fastball anytime, as well is the any veteran in that clubhouse so far kind of been a bit a key guy for you, as far as helping you, you know, helping along a little bit is there anybody you want to single out. I mean they're all great guys mean everyone from the bullpen starters. Mean busters done a great job. There's just so much experience in there and there's so much knowledge on the game. You know. And you could really go to anyone, and they're all welcoming, and they're all really just, they'll wanna win, you know. And I mean that's great. That's a great clubhouse to being. All right. Young man. Appreciate the start your off to for shit. You coming on for a few minutes start as WHEN Sunday Cundy, all right now you're a gator, you knew us a famous gator connected. The giants baseball. Oh my gosh. Go ahead Martin Laurie LLC party. Larry also have you done it? Your I sit down with the great martyr yet? His gentleman. Where's it cap real nice guy? You guys are both Gators. So you can get you got that going together. I didn't know that. I didn't know he was gator. He's tomorrow. You have a bad start. He'll defend you. Congrats on on making it to the bigs, and it was an awesome scene for giants fans to see your family. Get that excited the other night and keep it rolling man. Hopefully hopefully you're here to stay with love to see it. Yeah. Have that guy for the giants. Get you that tape? Believe me, you're going to want to have your mom and dad, put that in the in the garage, and you can look at it in thirty years and say, man, that was that was pretty nice start for the family, you know. Yeah. For sure. Need to get that. All right. Sean. Good luck. Thanks, sean. Larry, thanks for having me. All right. That's Sean Anderson from the judge. We'll come back. I've been laughing kids. Yeah. Yeah..

"The giants and the Blue Jays, and they'll be Edwin Jackson going up against young Sean Anderson, the twenty four year old right hander from plantation Florida American heritage high school and plantation for Florida. And of course, he came to the giants from the Red Sox in the word of newness trade and July twenty seventeen time now for today's expecter of the game sponsored by xfinity. Get Netflix YouTube Pandora music and more with xfinity X one. Well, I wanna make the x factor today. The first inning the giants have been outscored in the first inning this year forty five to five. That's right. They are minus forty run differential in the first inning this year. And at some point that's going to have to reverse it self. I'm just statistical aberration. You would think so forty five five in the I do not let the game get away in. The I also another factor today is is controlling young Vlad Guerrero junior three for four two home runs. Four RBI's. In two runs scored last night, a pair of bombs the second one was an absolute impressive shot to center field. So controlling Vladi junior will be a big part of the giants game plan today. Now this window into the game is being sponsored by Dolan lumber and doors, and I think there's a couple interesting angles on this thing one Edwin Jackson starts for Toronto. And he he will set the major league baseball record today because he will be pitching for his fourteenth major league team. That's incredible really speaks to you know, the inconsistency of Jackson throughout his career. But it also speaks to his incredible talent. He's got a really tremendous arm. He's been very durable. And he's just had. He's he's. He's just good enough to be coveted by another team every single time. He gets he doesn't work out previously. So fourteen teams. Fred Jackson, and I'll say the other key as far as window into today's game the chances to play some sound defense behind the rookie. You don't want your rookie pitcher against an American League lineup having to get four and five outs in an inning. So playing sound defense today behind young, Sean Anderson, one of the keys for sure and that is the.
