As of right now, they're not seeing that, to be honest, Um, you're seeing a lot of states, uh, kind of dropped those federal unemployment aid because they're saying that their jobs just can't be shown in those states. But several economists, including up Peter McCrory and Daniel Silver of JP Morgan, they found zero correlation between job growth. And a state decision to drop the federal unemployment eight at least so far. And there's an economist in Columbia University, Calhoun, who found only minimal benefit in terms of that question. There were three servers in the huge restaurant and they are running like crazy all over with a big sign hanging up in there that says Please be patient. If you're looking for a job, we have one for you. And it's like that everywhere. You know, I wonder where these employees where did these workers go? There was a couple places I stopped at over the weekend locally. They were closed because they had a shortage of workers. They were no longer open on a Sunday or on Monday is safe in my nominee Falls was closed yesterday because they didn't have enough workers show up to work. So on the day they were scheduled to be open. They shut the doors. I've stressed to a lot of people I know to be patient with the people who are actually there. It is not their fault, and I know we're all frustrated right now because things are slower. Things are not as efficient but the people who are actually they're working. Let's give them some credit for being there and showing up because they're the ones who are actually doing the things that are missing right now. That's a great idea. Let's take it a step further. If you live next door to somebody who's collecting enhanced unemployment living in their mom's basement. You see him going out to the mailbox. Give them a hard time. "Live from American family field. It is Brewer's re opening day. A couple of the other cool things that they're going to be having going on here is that it's the return to the racing sausages. Now, If you've been to a ball game since the start of the year, you know they had the racing sausages. At the very beginning. They had the racing sausages that they throw him up on the big screen, but they'd be running outside, and then they moved him inside, but the route they would run would be along the outfield wall. So they really weren't close to any of the fans. Well, okay, the regular races back, they're going to start down the left field line, and they will run in front of the dugout. So I think that's going to be again. One of the kind of cool things that are there. You've got retro weekend. It's kind of 80 was weekend. So what you're going to have is today Paul Molitor and Cecil Cooper, well known to the perhaps the most famous and successful brewers ever. They're going to be throwing out the ceremonial first pitch. Just a lot of fun stuff's going on. So if you're looking for an excuse to come out and play hookey like we say there are some good tickets available. Come on out. "American family field. See how many times I can do the program today and not call it Miller Park, But you know where I am. This is Brewer's reopening day. It's the kind of the real thing now we had Brewers opening day before. Actually, I feel like I've been given a second chance at the baseball season this year because for the first time Probably in over 20 years. I was not at the original opening day. In the end of March, I was on vacation. I was in Florida. I listened to. You know, Bob, you curs call of the game when I was down in Florida, and of course, if you will remember. That was a big win for the Brewers. They were behind the Minnesota Twins came back to tie the game in the bottom of the ninth inning with a two run double by Travis Shaw. And then they went on to win 6 to 5 in the 10th inning, which I mean, I think it's said that really set the template for what is a great Season. So far, I've been saying this for the last couple weeks since one of the things that's so cool about the reopening day. A lot of times, you know, when the season baseball season starts, everybody has high hopes hopes for their baseball team. But the reality is there's going to be some teams that are going to be competitive, and there's some teams that are not going to be competitive. One of the great things about having a reopening day at the end of June is we have a pretty good idea of where this brewers team is. And you know what that is. They are tied for first place right now, with the Chicago Cubs. They've been playing really, really good baseball and I understand it's a long baseball season and you go through a streak where you maybe lose a couple games, But all in all, the Brewers are in first place in the central Division. They are competing certainly for the playoffs. And it's a lot of excitement and it's going to be tremendous. The game coverage are the I think the broadcast starts around 2 30, but we have a lot of stuff between now and then. Here is kind of a little bit of a game plan. We're going to be talking about some, you know, current event issues but a lot of emphasis on baseball and we have a bunch of great guests lined up. Um, again are scheduled guests during the nine o'clock hour We'll be talking to Lane Grendel, Brewers broadcaster at 10 O'clock and it started at 10 O'clock hour were scheduled to talk to Brent suitor who, of course, Star Brewers relief pitcher, spot starter and Harvard graduate and a really really interesting guy at the start of the 11 o'clock hour, were scheduled to talk to Brandon Woodruff. And then at 11 35 were scheduled to talk to Kolten Wong, who I think has just been a tremendous edition to the Brewers this year when the Brewers ended up signing him. I was so thrilled because I remember year after year just watching him flat out. Where out where us out when he played for ST Louis, and it's so great to have him playing for the Brewers. He's supposed to join me at 11 35. So we've got all that coming up. We'll try to give you a little bit of a flavor of what is going on at Miller Park as at Miller Park there, I go at American family Field. As I said a couple minutes ago. It's empty right now. But you know, in just a few hours, things are going to be hopping. Now. Technically, the parking lots do not open till right around one o'clock, although Ricks Schlessinger has indicated that if people start lining up You don't want to cause traffic congestion so they might open them up a little bit earlier, but regardless of whether it's one o'clock or Little bit earlier. There's going to be 35,000 plus people out here during the course of the day, getting ready to enjoy a reopening day baseball experience. There are still some good tickets available. It is not a complete sell out yet, but if you decide you want to come out here, great opportunity to do it. They've got all sorts of other special things going on, including the thing that really caught my attention. $1 hot dogs. I mean, dollar hot dogs thanks to American family can't go wrong with that, but it's going to be a great day. We're going to try to bring you some flavor of that. Sandy Greenway has been taking part in the big in the event since the very beginning 13 years ago, although in years prior it happened inside the U. S Bank building with the change of location is this year's climb going to be easier or harder? I kind of think it might be easier this year we're climbing. Uh, A few flights of stairs and then we'll be coming down. So we're going around the terrace level climbing Maybe 20 stairs. Going down. 20 stares back up, so I think this might be Little bit easier this year during a typical climb inside the U. S bank building what would hits you first? Is it the struggling to breathe or aching legs? I think it's a certain the breath and it usually happens when I get like the port for, um, but, yeah, you just have to keep going. You know, it's gonna end soon. Just keep putting one like in front of the other and you'll make it to the top eventually. Well, you're not gonna have that marker this year of knowing what floor you're on. Is that gonna make it a little less intimidating? I totally feel I'm totally excited about it this year. Yes. And I want it normally does the ultimate client, which is climbing to the top of the U. S bank building as many times as you can in the hour, So this time we actually have a cut off We can do the 1400 stairs in American family field. And then if we're feeling energetic, we can go up a flight and do another 400 stairs. I believe it is. And if you're a first timer, Sandy has a few tips for you tried several times to train for this. I've tried doing Stares at the gym. The stair climber. I'm a runner. I walk a lot. I would just say that anyone can do it. Um There's no training that really helps when you're going upstairs, but it might be psychological of it to you just have to think in your head. You can do this. It's no problem. And it's a great feeling when you're at the finish line and collect your medal and By the way, Sandy's best time inside the U. S Bank building. Think about this nine minutes and 20 seconds. Okay, no more mask for anybody. That's it well. Let's change that. All right? If you're fully vaccinated, you can come in without a mask. But we really want you to Wear a mask if you're not vaccinated Trader Joe's WalMart Sam's Club Costco three Wonderful grocery store chain from the South Public's, They confirmed updates to their mass requirements s O. Now there's mask free shopping, except we're required by state or local mandate. Apple target. CVS and Walgreens say they're still evaluating the CDC guidance, but they could update their policy. I know Starbucks is saying that they are going to starting Monday. That it is a mass are going to be optional for vaccinated customers unless local regulations require them by law. So unless you're in a city I hear Milwaukee it's not gonna matter because you know the rules are still in place. The guidelines are still in place, but everywhere else Outside of Milwaukee County and Milwaukee City. You know it's up to the it's up to the township. If there's no rules air of its mask lawlessness. It's like the wild west of virus control, Then you'll be able to walk into these stores. Again. I don't really care about myself because I'm pretty sure that I don't really win things. So I think the chances of me winning a nice case of Nice case of coronavirus. The Brewers absolutely have the opportunity to to spend money and they have showed that and they have They've given players big contracts, but it is they don't have the big time TV deal that teams in New York the teams in Chicago, the teams in Los Angeles have and you gotta You have to find a way to create revenue anywhere that it can come in. And if the great folks of Miller and their current financial situations sit there and say You know, this just isn't something that we can do anymore. Going and finding another Wisconsin company that does have the ability to do it where you can continue to keep that revenue source there that that's an important thing, and it impacts. You could get all wound up in a knot over this election. The bottom line is Joe Biden. Donald Trump. Your life is going to go on. You're probably gonna have the same job afterward. You're still gonna be in the same family situation. Same friends driving the same car. Not much is gonna change. Thankfully, this is this is something I give the credit The president credit for. We have a Supreme court that I think Is not a reactionary, but they delivered of body that says We're not going to rush to make judgments, and anybody who wants to China change the direction of the U. "One. And a traffic light knocked over at the 94 on ramp at Drexel Avenue. Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office says they responded to 52 calls for service due to road conditions between two o'clock and midnight on New Year's Day. Two people are dead after being shot while sitting inside of a car in Milwaukee early this morning.
