"8 45, I'm John Aaron. And I'm Michelle bash. We now know the names of the police officers involved in the shooting death of a suspected shoplifter near Tyson's corner center, but we still don't know why those officers opened fire. Fairfax county police sergeant Wesley schifrin, a 7 year veteran of the department, and officer first class James Sadler, who's been with the department for 8 years, are on restricted duty while the investigation goes on. Police say both officers shot at 37 year old Timothy mccree Johnson on February 22nd, he was shot once in the chest and killed. Police say it happened after Johnson stole designer sunglasses from the Nordstrom store and officers chased him into a wooded area. There is no evidence that Johnson was armed, footage from the officer's body worn cameras will be released by March 22nd. "The top story we're following, the U.S. Senate still plans to vote on the district's crime bill, even though the chair of the D.C. council has tried to withdraw it now, and lawmakers are preparing for a release of the president's proposed budget. We have details from WTO's Mitchell Miller today on the hill. Supporters of the disapproval resolution, which would block the district's new criminal sentencing guidelines, say the vote remains on track for Wednesday. They point out the D.C. legislation was already voted on by the House, and the Senate is expected to rescind it. As for President Biden's budget, it's to be released on Thursday. And Senate majority leader Chuck Schumer is outlining some of the things it will include. The president will make clear that in order to strengthen social security and Medicare and to lower the deficit responsibly, the ultra rich must pay their fair share. Republicans are already preparing to pan the president's plan, which they believe will include too much federal spending and fall short in trying to lower the deficit. On Capitol Hill, Mitchell Miller, WTO. A few details of President Biden's budget proposal are circulating. His plan for Medicare includes higher taxes on wealthy Americans to increase funding for the program's trust fund, the president also wants to expand Medicare's ability to negotiate prescription drug prices. Mister Biden writes in today's New York Times that Medicare is more than a government program, he calls it The Rock solid guarantee that Americans have counted on to be there for them when they retire. Under the proposal, the Medicare tax rate would increase from 3.8% to 5% on income exceeding $400,000 a year, including salaries and capital gains, The White House says the changes would keep the funds solvent until the 2050s about 25 years longer than currently expected. Federal Reserve chair Jerome Powell goes before Congress today for the first of two days of testimony. In recent weeks, fed officials have hinted that interest rates could go higher and remain elevated for longer. Recent data show that both wholesale and consumer inflation increased in January, Powell will likely be pressed by Democrats concerned that ever higher borrowing rates will tip the economy into recession and by Republicans who have urged the fed to act aggressively to slow inflation. "Four Americans have been kidnapped just across the border in Mexico. The FBI says the four U.S. citizens had entered Matamoros, Mexico, Friday, from Brownsville, Texas. China Espionage in America

"I've got some specific stories from today's headlines to go through with you, but I also want to go back to a closure of a consulate in Houston that occurred under your watch. The Chinese are engaged in espionage everywhere, aren't they? Deep complex at scale espionage all throughout the country. Here's the thing about the closure of the Chinese diplomatic facility that was located in Houston, Texas. It was my recommendation to the president director Rey did the work on the graphics there and Houston inside the United States. We had known about this for a long time, but we simply not had the temerity. American government had had nothing to have the will and capacity to actually prevent them from continuing to steal stuff from us from the Texas medical system from the energy corridor, right? Think about woodlands down to the ports in Houston. That's what they were engaged in. They were stealing tens of thousands of American jobs. We shut it down and impacted their capacity to steal from American workers for years and years to come.

Russia Responds to Crimean Bridge Explosion

"You been following the developments out of Ukraine and the Russia, the war, it's getting bad folks. It's getting bad. So over the weekend, the Ukrainians allegedly blew up a major bridge. As a matter of fact, just the only bridge linking Russia to Crimea. Now what's fascinating about this is that there are some in the United States that are actually blaming Russia, so they want you to believe that Russia blew up its own bridge and that these are the same people that want you to believe that Russia blew up the Nord stream two pipeline. It makes absolutely no sense. And now you've got, now you've got Russia retaliating. Now I don't believe for a minute that Russia blew up either of those things. It certainly looks to me that somebody namely the Biden administration is shoving us into a shooting war with the Russians. So this morning, Vladimir Putin decided to play some hardball and they have launched numbers of missiles, we're talking dozens and dozens of missiles into Ukrainian cities, including Kyiv. Or Kyiv, as its now, I guess, fashionable to call the town. But anyway, now people are accusing Russia of war crimes for retaliating against the bridge. May I just ask a question here, there were innocent people on that bridge. That was blown to smithereens. I don't seem to recall anybody shouting war crimes against zelensky. Do you? According to breitbart, a building housing, the Visa office of the German consulate was hit. No word on injuries, but were being told there are fatalities all over the all over the nation.

Bob Cesca on Republican Support for the Theft of National Secrets

"Couldn't wait to get you on today because of course Edward Snowden thing. I was just like, oh my God. Bob says, I tried to tell you how long you just said, right? Matt Gaetz said Joe Biden should pardon Snowden, and you said Republican support the theft and exposure of national security secrets. Period. Yeah. How long ago did we say this? Snowden is a traitor. 9 years. It's been 9 years. It'll be ten years coming up this coming up summer in June, I believe it is. When the first story Glenn greenwald dropped happened. And so this is not surprising to those of us who were following the story closely with a critical eye back in 2013 when especially and I wrote a piece about this back in 2013 about how as soon as Edward Snowden was shepherded from Hong Kong where he had a birthday party, a birthday pizza party at the Russian consulate, he was taken by WikiLeaks attorneys. Hi. See, all these names are so appropriate now. Have a new patina of weirdness about them after the last 5, 6 years. Yeah. And so he separated by WikiLeaks attorneys to Moscow, where, while camping out in the Moscow airport, he hires Russian attorney Anatolia. I think that's how you pronounce his last name. And anatoly kuchar Rena is a, or was a lawyer for the FSB for the Russian FSB. And those of us who have been falling from Russia all along what the very least watching the Rachel maddow show. We all know what the FSB is. The FSB is the modern day version of the KGB. Yeah. And one of their attorneys is the attorney who represented Edward Snowden in Moscow in 2013 when he was there in the airport. Joshua Philipp From Epoch Times Tells Us About His Background

"We return with Joshua Phillips, who is the senior investigative reporter at the epic times. If you don't read the epic times, your communist. He's the host of crossroads and epic times. And we're here now because Josh Phillips, you've created this documentary called the real story of January 6th. This is as important as it gets. And you know, tell me a little bit about your background because what we're seeing in America, we've not seen in America. We expect this kind of nefarious government action from China. China crushes its opponents at any dissidents, any voices that dare to speak against the communist regime. You expect that from a totalitarian Marxist state. You don't expect that in the United States of America. What do you suppose happened that this kind of thing can happen in America? Well, you know, on your point. So yeah, so my beat at epic times for many years was investigating the Chinese Communist Party. Although my beat was maybe a little different than most China reporters. My focus was on what the Chinese Communist Party is doing in the United States. This goes back to the start of my career with epic times. I've been there since 2006, began investigative reporting in 2008. When I accidentally uncovered one of the largest Chinese spy operations in America, that being the united front work department. And I uncovered how through its consulates, the CCP was running spy networks, approaching what are called tongs, fraternal organizations. You could think about guilds or unions. That exists throughout chinatowns here in New York and in most parts of the world. And how these were working together with the Chinese mafia and doing liaison work approaching government officials inviting them back to China. Academics, journalists, even a lot of them. And business leaders and compromising them. And so my focus since 2008 has been on investigating and exposing communist subversion

"These are not good days to be in Shanghai. The city of 25 million or so people and not for nothing the center of finance in the second biggest economy on the planet is in the middle of a so far indefinite lockdown to control a COVID outbreak Shanghai accounts for about 95% of all the cases currently in China. The U.S. State Department has had enough yesterday it ordered non emergency employees in the American consulate in Shanghai and their families to leave. They are coming home on commercial flights, but not everybody is getting out. Among them, our Jennifer Pak. Throughout most of the pandemic, I could order in Shanghai a fresh lobster. When you have it cleaned and delivered to my doorstep within 30 minutes. Last week, I cycled through a dozen grocery apps before 6 a.m. to order basics like eggs, no luck. Since April 1st, Shanghai has effectively locked down the entire city. Certain parts have been under lockdown even longer. A taxi driver tells me before the lockdown, he took a passenger who was allowed out only to refill her medication. He says her compound had been sealed since mid March, even though it had no COVID-19 cases. He swears, then says these pandemic rules are just ridiculous. During this lockdown, residents are not allowed to step past their front doors except for mass testings, which are done in batches of 20. So I just got a call out of the 20 people in the same tube, someone within that 20 has COVID. Next day, I do a retest. If I catch COVID, Shanghai authorities will take me my contacts and their contacts to isolation facilities that aren't always that clean. A medical staff swaps so far down my throat and up my nose, I protest. PCRs here are rough. I tested negative, which is lucky. Shanghai's medical system is so overwhelmed that some people have been sent to other provinces. Majority with mild to no symptoms. These people should be allowed to isolate at home, says the Shanghai CDC official in a call with a COVID patient's son. We are being driven crazy as a professionals. When we speak, Noel laces, the virus has become politicized. The call is leaked and went viral across WeChat groups. What's riled people up even more, videos of supposed COVID positive children, several to a crib, seemingly unattended. We can't verify the videos, but last week at a press conference, the Shanghai health commission's Wu Tian yu admitted, it was policy to isolate COVID positive children from parents. Those infected with COVID should be separated from those who are not. More public outcry until officials back down slightly and say children who catch COVID won't be separated from parents in some cases. No such guarantees for pets, who are feared to be virus spreaders. In WeChat groups, Friends circulate a video of a corgi being beaten to death by a person in a hazmat suit. The pet owner had reportedly tested positive for COVID. One friend writes, if anyone touches my dogs, I'll grab a cleaver. Perhaps the biggest worry is food. The only thing that seems to work are group buys, but their time consuming. Anyone want to split 29 pounds of bananas? There are district government handouts. I've received frozen shrimp and a few veggies, but over at marketplace's news assistant Charles Jones. His vegetable handouts took nearly two weeks to arrive, and he only got a turnip, one cabbage, a bit of Chinese veg, plus two potatoes. And he's got 8 mouths to feed in his extended family. Friends have forwarded countless protest videos. People say they're going hungry. They need to work. Sensors delete these videos as fast as they can. Instead, you can read the Shanghai CDC's tutorial on how to grow your own bean sprouts. At least one guy has succeeded and showed off in a video. He says he was trying for two weeks before he grew sprouts from mung beans, something I also.

"While the Red Army was mopping up and securing things, they could not contain a further mass exodus of something like 8000 refugees who crossed the ice over into Finland. Those left behind had been ordered to sabotage everything they could. But when the crews found out that all their leaders had deserted, they disobeyed their final orders and instead arrested their officers and surrendered to the communists. It is very difficult to say what the final casualty numbers of all this were. The American consulate estimated that about 10,000 communist troops were killed, wounded or missing in their attempts to retake the island. On the rebel side the most reasonable number is about 5 or 600 dead, with about a thousand wounded. The communists took about 2000 prisoners, with 13 of them, singled out and accused of being the ringleaders of the rebellion, even though the real ringleaders of the rebellion had escaped to Finland. The 13 were summarily executed a few days later. In the ensuing weeks and months, hundreds of other prisoners were summarily executed, they were simply taken out in batches and shot without any trial. The rest of the prisoners who survived were either moved to prison camps in Siberia, or thrown in other prisons, where they were mistreated and died of hunger or disease. Those that made it to Finland in their thousands would be given aid by the Red Cross, and become something of an international cause celeb. Petrichenko himself remained in Finland, and even engaged in some plotting with agents representing fyodor rondo to combine their efforts to overthrow the communists once and for all. But this all came to nothing. He stayed in Finland until World War II, at which point he was repatriated to Russia, promptly arrested, and died in a labor camp two years later. Stalin had many defects of character, a short memory was not one of them. In the final analysis, the kronstadt rebellion was a failure in just about every way, but one. The sailors went down as eternal martyrs to the creeping authoritarianism of communist Russia. As leninism gave way to stalinism, critics of the regime increasingly pointed to cronstadt as a major fork in the revolutionary road. When the idealistic dreams of 1917 gave way to the bitter reality of the 1920s and 1930s. In terms of what they had actually fought for in March of 1921, almost nothing came of their demands. The communists did not restore autonomy and authority of local Soviets, nor did they restore freedom of speech or assembly or the press. They did not free any socialist or anarchist prisoners. And in fact, in political terms the rebellion led the Communist Party to secure even more dictatorial power for itself. They started working not just on permanently suppressing mensheviks and anarchists and SRs, but even opposition elements inside the Communist Party. Then, they set about blotting out the memory of the constat rebellion entirely to make sure that it was memory hold into oblivion and nobody would talk about it..

"Benjamin Netanyahu on Biden's Iran deal Boy they could sure use him as the prime minister again They have this loser Bennett With his support from I think it was 5 members of the Knesset out of a 120 And you talk about a coup That was a coup But take a listen to this hat tip right scoop cut one go The desperate rush to sign this flawed nuclear agreement with Iran is not only absurd It's downright dangerous Yesterday Iran fired missiles in the vicinity of the American consulate in Iraq And the U.S. continues to charge ahead along with the other powers to sign a nuclear agreement that will give the ayatollahs a nuclear arsenal It would also relieve sanctions and give them hundreds of billions of dollars In order to continue the terror that they weighed yesterday and wage every day throughout the Middle East and the world This agreement is even worse than its predecessor Because in three years time under this agreement Iran will be a threshold nuclear state that will have enough in which uranium to create dozens and dozens of nuclear bombs and it will have the ICBMs to deliver them to any place in the United States That is unbelievable It's not merely unacceptable It endangers not only my country as old but your country the United States and the entire

"Deeply spiritual discipline, she also knew how to use her high profile connections to popularize the practice and bring it into the mainstream. Let's talk about Indra Devi. Indra Devi was born eugenie Patterson in Riga Latvia on May 12th, 1899. With the mother who was a Russian noblewoman and a father who was a Swedish bank director, eugenie had a comfortable childhood. She attended drama school in Moscow, but in 1917, eugenie and her mother fled to Berlin when the Communist Party rose to power. In Germany, eugenie joined a Russian traveling theater group and worked as an actress and dancer. At the age of 15, she became enchanted with India. Many sources say that this fascination began when she read a book by the Indian poet, Rabindranath Tagore. But another source claims that Indra attended an event in Holland, where she met yoga master jiu Krish Morty, and was immediately taken with Indian philosophy. In 1927, eugenie pursued her interest and sailed to India, destination, Bollywood. Eugenie adopted the stage aim Indra Devi, and soon caught the attention of ants that arcati, an attache to the Czech consulate in Bombay. The two married in 1930. Because of Anne's position injure met many diplomats and politicians, including the rulers of the kingdom of my sore. A realm in southern India. In their palace, they had a yoga school that was led by master street teru malai Krishna macharia. Who's known today as the father of modern yoga. Indra asked him for a lesson. At first, he said no. Intro was an outsider, a western woman. Eventually, he gave in. Injured became his first foreign female student. For the next year, Krishna Machar trained in Dre. In addition to yoga lessons, he also made her follow a strict regimen. No coffee, tea, white sugar, white flour, white rice, or meat. Indra listened dutifully. But later, when it was time for her to go off on her own, she built her own style of yoga. It used Krishna Machar's fundamental teachings, which took a gentler approach, appealing to westerners. In the mid 1930s, Indra's husband was transferred to China. There, in Shanghai, Indra taught what's believed to be the first yoga class in modern China. This was a radical act that went against both her husband's wishes and the Japanese who began to occupy the city in 1937. But Indra was undeterred, and she opened her first yoga school in China in 1939. Injured taught her classes out of the home of madam Chiang Kai-shek, the wife of the country's ruler, who had a passion for yoga herself. While in China, Indra also taught a prison class for imprisoned staff members of the American consulate. After World War II, Indra returned to India, she authored what's believed to be the first yoga book written by a westerner published in India. Indra was also the first westerner to teach yoga in India. To her followers, she was known as mataji, which is the Hindi name for mother. After her husband's death in 1946, interest set sail for a new place. This time, Southern California. Indra became a yoga teacher to the stars, with clients like glorious Watson and Greta Garbo. She's credited today for popularizing yoga in the U.S.. Indra also taught yoga lessons at Elizabeth Arden's spas around the country. When she was approached about officially joining the staff, she declined. She didn't want to work for anyone. In 1953, in Dre married doctor seeker naur. She became an American citizen and legally changed her name to injure Devi. Doctor nauer gifted intro with an 80 acre ranch into Kate Mexico. She spent many years there training yoga teachers. In 1960, Indra returned to Russia for the first time in 40 years. She spoke to officials about the health benefits of yoga. And though it took years for yoga to be officially legalized in Russia. Indra had a significant impact on that process. In the mid 1960s, Indra became friends with Hindu guru Satya sai Baba. Together, they created a new style of yoga called SA yoga. It combined the teachings of her first teacher and a devotional style of yoga called bakhti. After her second husband's death, Indra moved to Buenos Aires in 1985. Her popularity there was fueled by a single television appearance, and she.

"american consulate" Discussed on The Hugh Hewitt Show: Highly Concentrated

"Welcome back, America. I'm grateful at the end of the year for guests who show up most weeks, including doctor Michael orn, who is our advanced guard in Israel, where it is. What time is it in Israel, doctor orin? It is ten of two at the same time you talk to me every week. Well, happy new year to you. I would like you to take a look ahead and give us the Michael oran predictions for 2022. I always say I'm an historian and I have enough problems predicting the past. I live in the Holy Land so I could be a little like an indulgent little property. I think that the Iranian nuclear issue is going to come to a head. What does that mean? What do you mean come to a head? Well, either I think the talks will either produce an agreement that is you can't live with or the Iranians will go ahead and keep on enriching the 60%, which is equivalent of threshold capacity and Israel will not be able to live with that. So somewhere along the line we're coming to a head. On the nuclear issue. That would be wrong. I think the COVID issue, I think you knew it's already beginning to clear up. There's going to be reopening our airport soon. And we're just going to have to live with wave after wave after wave. Are you going to do a fourth booster? 'cause I want a fourth booster to roll out in the United States immediately. They started rolling about this. It's not an aggressive campaign to shift because the avocado numbers are actually increasing, but we found that while it's highly contagious is not as lethal as the other versions and variants of COVID are. But yes, I have no problem getting a fourth booster. Well, why not? Why not? Really, I get a flu shot every year if I have to get two COVID shots a year. Why not? I like being alive. Yeah, why is it why not? Good, good, good. I highly agree with you. What's going to happen politically here? The government shows no signs of coming apart. It seems to be relatively stable. And nothing is going to move much on the Palestinian unless the Biden administration intends to go ahead and try to reopen that American consulate in east Jerusalem, which would be caused a crisis here and cause a crisis in our relationship with Washington. I'm a little bit worried about our Friends, little Sparta United Arab Emirates. They are going to cancel the F-35. I think team Biden has screwed up our best Arab ally relationship. And if they don't get the F-35s in the drones, and I saw some people blaming Israel, which I know not believed to be the case for that. What's going on there? It has to do with internal politics in the United States. I guess in your set of Israel to all of our politics or domestic, it's true that every country is certainly true of the United States of America. Okay, now I have a request. You know everybody in Israel. You know, literally, I can't walk down the street. I was having breakfast with Michael at the Dave had been gurney and hotel and he had the great like 55 people. I care we were having drinks. Really, it's like going to dinner with a parade. And so everyone comes by and they all say hello. So you must know whoever runs the Israeli tourism authority, right? Yes. I do. I do. Well, I want you to tell him, I want a broadcaster from Israel for a month. I think that a guy like me coming to Israel and showing people that you not only can you have a great time you can broadcast and it's perfectly safe would be good for tourism. But of course, they have to subsidize Salem sending me there. I don't want to make any money out of it. I just want them to pay Salem to bring me there. So Salem doesn't complain. What do you think? I think it's great. Not to mention, I don't have the competitor, but Dennis Quaker broadcast here for a month. I know that we don't ever mention his show on this. Prager is I'm his life coach. Did you know that? And a lot of people have been here. We've been here broadcasting. Yeah, they bring all the shoes and I said, no, no, bring a Catholic evangelical Presbyterian. We're the tourists. And when our skies open up, I will run with that football. All right, great. Now the other thing that resolution for 2022 is pregnant. Can we talk for a moment about then? I am Dennis life coach. And he has a new book called out the rational Passover. He got it. Now, I think that sounds like the worst name book in history, but I'm interested in it. What do you think? It sounds good to me, because I don't know what's irrational about the Haggadah. That's exactly. Right? They went to freedom. Okay, that's not such a wild tale as far as I know, but okay..

NY Rep. Claudia Tenney Shares Her Backstory and Connection to the Former Yugoslavia

"First welcome back to our one on one end studio in discussion with New York's congresswoman Claudia teddy. For those who aren't familiar with your backstory. I didn't even know it until you came in today. You said you mentioned my book, and then you said you sold me on TV and you bought my book, which talks about my parents who escaped Hungary under communism and then mentions what was happening next door in Yugoslavia. Share with us who aren't familiar or who aren't from your district, your connection to the Balkans in the Eastern Europe. I'm not of Yugoslavia in descent or Balkan descent, but I did actually see you and I said, oh, look, you know, because one of my jobs when I worked at the former Yugoslav consulate, which is obviously gone because of the war. We're still look for people in the Balkans, people in the region, and I just, you know, anyone with a sort of the accident, even though Hungarian is not similar to several creations to different route language, I just said, oh, who's this guy? Oh, he's talking about hungry. Interesting because of all that was happening and Yugoslavia being so unique, technically not behind the iron curtain. Tito was able to keep him out of the common form. So I went to Yugoslavia as a student in 1981, 40 years ago, just for a study group and ended up falling in love with the place to just so diverse and interesting and continued to stay there. Work for the consulate worked on the Olympics in Sarajevo in 1984. Learn the language, you know, just continue to go back and then obviously through the war, it was a tough time for me. I had friends from every part of the country, the former years of everywhere. Because we all worked in the consulate together, and so that's been my connection and just living in a country that was communist and then seeing the transformation since the war and them trying to emerge as a market economy, and reading your book where you hear about you're talking about some of the things that happened and how a lot of Hungarians were trying to cross through Yugoslavia and get to freedom and how Tito basically turned them in. And they read the benevolent dictator who was Marshall, Joseph pizza, right? Right, yeah, so called benevolent dictator, and that's where I, you know, I think we're on this moment in American history where people should learn that when they say we have communism we've never just done it quite right, and we had a benevolent dictator in Tito, not a benevolent dictator. Tito had a dissident camp where people were tortured and killed on a barren island in the Adriatic Sea. So it's all these communists. And he played and he played the nationalities. Right. Slovenes vice the Croatians, the Croatians versus the Serbs. Yeah, and technically he was Croatian, but first and foremost he was a communist. Right. He was able to bridge the gap and keep an allied relationship with the Americans and with kind of keeping everyone at bay to maintain this sort of artificial union of these countries and Yugoslavia, which wants Tito died. You know, they devolved into war within about ten

"She wanted to do learn. Eighteen languages traveled to nine thousand. Nine hundred countries like sh- she she's living at. She is great so she's working in poland a few months after she transferred to smyrna later known as izmir turkey. In one thousand nine hundred eighty three. She was out hunting birds and she tripped and accidentally shot herself and left foot. Yeah i know this is a weird thing but it's going to come up later. So among us. She shot she tripped. She shot herself in her. Left foot was amputated below the knee. And my god. Okay we this girl. She's very smart. She's working as well or no in turkey. She shot herself in the foot. Her legs in potato below the knee. It's replaced with the wooden appendage. Which she affectionately nicknamed cuthbert okay okay. I'm back on your on actor. After losing her leg she once again worked as a consular collect in venice. An tallinn estonia so junior hall made several attempts to become a diplomat with the us foreign service but women were rarely hired in this division in nineteen thirty seven. She was turned down by the department of state. Because of an obscure rule against hiring people with disabilities as diplomats. No sorry your foot is made of wood. You cannot be a diplomat cannot you. Just don't measure that diplomat material. Virginia i know you speak fifty eight languages. And you've been working in this field for twenty years. But yup cuthbert you and you and cuthbert not here keep moving lady so she was like ra. What so she resigned from the department of state and gosh nineteen thirty nine right before world war two in february nineteen forty hall became an ambulance driver for the army of france. Okay and after. France was defeated in june nineteen forty. She made her way to spain. Where by chance. She met a british intelligence officer named george bellows in bellows was impressed with her and gave her the telephone number of a friend who might be able to help her find employment in england and that friend was nicholas boddington who worked for the newly created special operations executive this oh eat so hall joined the sos in april nineteen forty one and after training arrived in vichy france which was unoccupied your by germany at that time and nominally independent She arrived there in august. She was the second female agent to be sent to france. By the zoe's france section and the first to remain there for a lengthy period of time. Her cover was as a reporter for the new york post which gave her licensed to interview people. Gather information and file stories filled with details that were useful to military planners sure she based herself in leon so she turned away from her previous chic parisian wardrobe and became inconspicuous and often changed her appearance the makeup and disguise ou self exciting. So hall was a pioneer as a world war. One secret agent and had to learn on her own how to arrange contacts recommend who to bribe where to hide reassure the jagged nerves of other agents on the run and supervise the distribution of wireless sets so the network or circuit of sa agents. She founded was named heckler and among her recruits was gynecologist. John rousson and germain. Garin the owner of a prominent brothel in leone. So garin made several safe houses available to hall and pass along tidbits of information that she and female employees heard from german officers. Visiting the brothel. Right saying so downed airmen who found their way to leon. We're told to go to the american consulate and say that they were a friend of olivier. Olivier was hall and she with the help of the broth owner garin and other friends hid fed and helped dozens of airman escape france to neutral spain back to england so the germans. Some idea that there was that there was a female behind. All this. ho. Yeah you know we just can't we just can't figure out who it is. But we know her as the limping lady so they put the limping louis. Germany put the limping lady on their most wanted list. During all my new world war two everything is blowing up. They put the ping lady on their most wanted list. Oh my god so in october. Nineteen forty one. Virginia hall sense danger. She declined to attend a meeting of sl agents in marseille which the french police raided and captured a dozen agents after that tobacco hall was one of the few esa agent still at large in france. And the only one with the means of transmitting information to london. George winning hill. An american diplomat and leone allowed her to smuggle reports and letters to london in his diplomatic pouch so sidebar real quick. Because this is something that i feel is come on. Tv shows. and i'm like oh yeah diplomatic pouch and you know like i know what that means. I know like i know. The police can't touch it. Like i think that was like all i knew about it. A diplomatic pouch or diplomatic bag as any properly identified and sealed package pouch envelope bag or other container. That's used to transport official correspondence documents or other articles intended for official use. So this is only between embassy's consular posts and the foreign office of any government the headquarters or any other office of public international organization and its regional offices in the us or in a foreign country or the foreign office of any country with full membership in a public international organization and its mission to that so those are the only like times that somebody can actually use a diplomatic pouch like. You can't like just hide your weed in a diplomatic power like yeah like the police can still be like man like know. That's not official business between exactly. I mean different countries and consulate. Yes yeah but since so george. Wedding hill is the american diplomat. Inland so he was allowed to carry his diplomatic couch as she was able to smuggle letters ousting london through him interesting. So so the french police to come in. They rated this you know meaning they captured a bunch of agents and haller and that the twelve agents who were arrested were incarcerated at the mosaic. Prison near berge wreck wireless operator george big ucs smuggled out letters to haul from the prison and she recruited the wife of the prisoner. Jean-pierre block named gaby block as an ally to plan an escape. So cabbie walk visited the prison frequently to bring food and other items to her husband including tins of sardines. Well it just so happened. That in the tins of sardines. We're tools that enable gate to make a key to the door to the barracks where the prisoners were kept. God that's amazing. So i loved us so hall. She was too well known to visit the prison but she assembled safehouses. Vehicles helpers and on july fifteenth nineteen forty to the prisoners escaped and after hiding in the woods. An intense manhunt took place but all of them met up with hall and they were able to make it to safety. Oh my gosh. So and from there they were all smuggled to spain and back to england so the germans were furious about the escape from the mosaic prison. And the laxity. French police in allowing the escape so the gestapo flooded vichy france with five hundred agents and the bar also stepped up operations to infiltrate and destroy the fledgling french resistance and the networks and the johns focused on the on. The center of the resistance hall had counted on contact. She had with the french police to protect her. But under pressure from the germans her tax were no longer reliable. Oh no so on november seventeen thousand nine hundred forty to the american consulate in. Leon told hall that an allied invasion of north africa was imminent and in response to the invasion on november eighth..

"Hello. I'm Roger Data and coming up after the news on the forum. Did you hear that? It's one of the defining sounds of the 20th century. Whether it be a karang chop blistering solo, some finger picking or subtle flans electric guitar has transformed popular music in particular. I didn't spired that strange human ritual of head banging for that matter Now, with my three guest experts, I'll be delving into the roots of this iconic instrument. Why was it needed And how was it created? Who were the pioneers of the technology and who, with the early adoption exponents, because without them popular culture would be unrecognizable today. No big gigs, no stadium concerts, in fact, almost certainly no rock music. That's in the forum after the music Hello. I'm Moira Alderson with the BBC News, the head of the United Nations Nuclear monitoring Agency. The A is making a new attempt to ease tension over Iran's nuclear program. Rafael Grossi is in Tehran for talks with Mohammad Eslami. The new head of the Iranian nuclear authority, Alan Johnston, reports. This is the first I A e, a visit to Iran since the hard line cleric Ebrahim Raisi was elected president and formed a new government in Tehran. The inspection agencies chief Rafael Grossi once the Iranians to explain the presence of traces of uranium found it certain sites. More importantly, he's demanding access to monitoring equipment installed at other nuclear facilities. Iran has been limiting its cooperation with the inspectors. And some news just in the Iranian side is reported to have described the talks with Mr Grassi as constructive. He has not yet commented on the outcome of the negotiations. Pope Francis has had a brief meeting in Hungary with the country's right wing Prime Minister Viktor Orban. The two men were photographed shaking hands and smiling, but they have radically different interpretations of what constitutes a Christian approach to migration. The pontiff has condemned the reluctance of some European leaders to take in refugees. Mr Orban says he's defending Christian Europe. Meanwhile, the BBC's Nick Thorpe says the capital Budapest itself is warmly welcoming the pontiff in Budapest. We have a liberal mayor get drunk, and he has gone out of his way with the City Council to welcome the pope in a very different way, he has put up posters celebrating, for example, statements There are quotations from the pope going up all over the city to welcome the pope, stressing human dignity, human rights. And issues like that. So in a way, the pope has become a political football here. Just six months before the Hungarian elections, the FBI has released the first document related to its investigation into allegations of Saudi government support for the 9 11 Attackers Following an order from President Biden. And it wants an explanation from Tehran. Traces of uranium found at some undeclared sites. Haiti's Prime Minister, Ariel Laundry, has accused officials of diversionary tactics over their request to question him about why he spoke to a key suspect in the assassination of President Muise. Here's Alex Whitson. The assassination of president Mice in July, was initially blamed by Haiti's police on foreign mercenaries. But that still leaves open the question of who paid them and why prosecutors subpoenaed mobile phone data records showing that the prime minister has spoken to a key suspect, a former official from the Justice Ministry twice in the hours after the attack. Mr. Andre has rejected calls to explain why, he says the request is designed to cause confusion as prime minister, only the president could order him to give evidence. And for obvious reasons that can't happen. Day of remembrance to mark the 20th anniversary of the September the 11th attacks on the United States has come to an end to pillars of light, representing the destroyed twin towers filled the New York Night, sky bound reports. The tribute in lights stretched across the New York skyline one last time and faded away at midnight. Many retired firefighters were in local pubs near ground zero to remember the colleagues that died in the terrorist attacks and to show the sort of unity president Biden had called for. It was noticeable that former President Trump wasn't among the other political leaders at the official ceremony here in the city, but he did visit local police officers instead on their work. Mr. Biden made his final stop in the evening at the Pentagon in Washington, where he laid a wreath in memory of those killed in the attacks. This year ceremonies were given added resonance by the recent withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan, ending a war that was launched in response to the attacks. In which nearly 3000 people lost their lives. The attacks were carried out by Al Qaeda Islamists. This is the world News from the BBC. Israel has targeted Hamas sites in Gaza in the heaviest airstrikes in months. "Recall Gavin Newsom. Get sticking it to the media before Moon Corporate titan Big business bowtie wearing elitist slob who hate American freedom Right now, Dan Bongino No life weekdays 19 on am 7 90 K A. B C Welcome back. This is the Ben Shapiro shows, so the Biden administration's response to the situation in Israel and in the Gaza Strip is twofold. One they want to restore aid to the Gaza Strip. Which would be fine, except the only way that the aid is going to get distributed is through the U. N R W A, which is a propaganda agency on behalf of terrorist groups and through Hamas and divided administration is basically acknowledging at this point. There is no way for them to give aid without it going to come out, which means rebuilding its rocket arsenal rebuilding all of those terror tunnels. Yuan R W A actually apologized today because the U. N Relief works agency, which is specifically I mean you and literally has an agency that is just dedicated to the Palestinians is pretty incredible. This agency admitted that Israel had engaged in pinpointed targeted strikes. The blowback was so intense from the Palestinians that they then decided to apologize for their original correct statement. Okay, so the Biden administration is now saying that they are going to restore aid. They're pretty much acknowledging that aid is going toe at some point have to be funneled through Hamas. Apparently, the U. S. Is going to commit 112 million of your taxpayer dollars to help Palestinians and other relief projects in Gaza, including $75 Million in development and economic aid. $5.5 Million in disaster relief in Gaza $32 million for the U. N R W A Lincoln said the U. S is in the process of providing a grand total of $360 million to support the Palestinian people. The problem with all foreign aid is that eventually gets funneled through the government is white. Vast amounts. Billions of dollars in foreign aid had been poured into, for example, countries in Africa very rarely reached the people usually just picked up by a local warlord used for whatever they want to use it for. Secretary of state promises no aid will go to Hamas. Lincoln said. As I told the president, I'm here to underscore the commitment of the United States to rebuilding the relationship of the Palestinian Authority in the Palestinian people. There's only one problem well into problems of that well in the Palestinian Authority fomented this violence from the beginning. The Palestinian Authority, the canceled elections in late April. Alleged them starting to promote violence, which led to the current conflagration. Also the reason the Palestinian Authority cancel the elections. Mahmoud Abbas, cancel the elections is because he was afraid that Hamas was going to win. Helping out the P A, is not actually what the Palestinians want by poll data right now. Lincoln did say the United States and fully supports Israel's right to defend itself against attacks. It's gonna be kind of difficult for this money not to go to Hamas. Meanwhile, Lincoln says that he's going to Re enter the Iran deal that the United States is committed to re entering Miranda. It's amazing, so Israel just had a bunch of rockets fired upon it by Hamas, which is an Iranian front group from US admitted openly Their rockets and technology are being provided by Iran. The United States is like Israel has a right to defend itself and ever did it. Also, what if we fund that that group to like, you know, build more rockets? And also what if we Refund the regime that is currently funding Hamas. It is the most counterproductive and standing in foreign policy today, Here's Antony Blinken, saying Let's re answer that Iran deal that allowed Iran to fomented terrorism and fund Hamas to the tune of Millions and hundreds of millions of dollars over the course of the past few years. I think the most important thing when it comes to When it comes to this is what we committed to do from day one of the of this administration. Well, we've said all along that if there was an opportunity we would Seek to return unusual compliance with the JCP away. But we also said that from day one, we would be keeping our closest allies and closest partners. Fully and contemporaneously informed of what we were doing. Yeah, I know. And they all opposed it in Israel, which actually is in the region and hosted Saudi Arabia opposed it. Her anyway. He opposed it. Keep doing it anyway. So again, This is totally counterproductive Policy, other counterproductive policies. Blinken says he's going to re open the American consulate in Jerusalem for the Palestinians, of course, implying that Israel should give away part of Jerusalem. It's capital. In exchange for some sort of deal with the Palestinian Authority there a couple problems this one. Israel has tried it twice before they tried it in 2000 with Yasser Arafat, who probably started the second intifada, and then it would only tried it again in 2008 with mouth with a boss who walked away from the table without a counter offer. So After a terrorist group Hamas, which is getting credibility and credence. In Jerusalem. Has called for a quote unquote The liberation of Palestine from the river to the sea. The U. S administration is now saying, What if you reopen our Palestinian consulate in Jerusalem Now, remember, United States just moved. It's American Embassy to Jerusalem because that is, in fact the capital of Israel. It is the eternal capital of the Jewish people. Because, of course, that is the foundation Stone of Judaism is in Jerusalem. And Antony Blinken like, Yeah, But what if what if we now open a consulate in Jerusalem to put pressure on the Israelis? I was talking with somebody yesterday and that person was like, Don't you believe that Israel could make any concessions that would help? And I said, What Concessions do you think would help? Seriously. I don't understand what concessions you think would help. Let's say Israel stopped all quote unquote settlement activity today. Israel put a freeze on it a couple of years ago did nothing. Let's assume that that happened Or let's say that Israel pulled completely out of the areas like the Gaza Strip with that do anything. No, because Israel did that and Hamas arose. So they're just living in LA la land. Now you've got Blinken saying what if we open a consulate and deal with the Palestinian Authority who, if an election were held today would not be in power in the West Bank. Was Anthony Blinken being.

Antony Blinken Dan Bongino Mahmoud Abbas Yasser Arafat Hamas 2008 Lincoln Anthony Blinken Ben Shapiro 2000 Gaza Strip Gaza Palestinian Authority Africa U. N Relief $360 million $75 Million 112 million $5.5 Million LA
