"That somehow Trump is a white supremacist and to this day has not denounced it, which he has over and over and over again. And it was dredged up by the moderator, but what was not dredged up But Biden told my old buddy Charlotte, Mein, the God Hey, hey. If you ain't voting for me, you ain't black. That didn't come up. And then we had to listen to the moderator lecturing Trump on butting in. We have a listener moderato lecturing Trump on interrupting. But Biden didn't get lectured for interrupting. Biden wasn't lectured for calling Trump names. That's the one thing that Trump did not do. Trump did not engage any personal attacks last night. Unless you want to say. That it was a personal attack to say, Joe. You in the word smart. Don't go together in the same sentence. But Biden was the one with mean spirited personal attacks. They weren't called out. Moderator never said there was a violation of rules going on there. For now, the thinking is that the team, Biden will say we don't need to do any more debates. America cannot endure another circus like last night, and so we are bowing out. The problem is that Bajor has already said he can't wait for the next two. Of course that might have been planned. Anyway. Shouldn't have gone the way it did. Now. I know a lot of people. For example, millennial women Excuse me Just a second here, folks. I've got to hit the coffee button for just a moment. I gotta blow my nose. Just Okay. Thank you. I know a lot of millennial women. Our maid nervous. Bye. The potential impact of the first debate on the presidential race

"I have moderated several debates, You know, statewide debates here in Virginia in my media career. I've Crept a lot of different candidates for debates. I've sat through a bunch of them watched a bunch of Monte ve never have I seen anything like what we witnessed last night. I I thought it was pretty embarrassing for the for the country. And Ah, I'm not sure exactly how to dissect this. Ah, but I don't think it was good for America. Hey, for America for Americans and probably made us look bad in the eyes of Other countries and people around the world who were watching. I thought it was pretty pretty bad, Dr. Bob Holsworth says, watched his fair share of debates and has been a moderator on a number of occasions. So, Dr Ellsworth, I appreciate you Joining us this morning. What's your first reaction after that nine minutes last night? Well, you know, it's pretty similar. John. I've moderated as you have, You know, a number of gubernatorial senatorial debates, some that were pretty tense in my life. I've never seen anything like this before. It just really was not at the level that one needs to On one has the right to expect from a presidential debate. And so then the question becomes down the road, You know? What does this mean? Politically? And you know, I have to say that my sense is that if you think the president is behind Nothing happened last night. Um, helped him out Not to say that Joe Biden was particularly good. Um, but at the same time, I think this raises the question of anybody's gonna watch the next two debates. And I'm just wondering what happened to the audience after 15 minutes or 30 minutes of that last night. Um, how many people like us plowed through it all? Hey, you think people turned away or do you think it was like a bar brawl where you've got your back up against the wall, and you just stand there and can't believe what's unfolding in front of your face? Yeah, Yeah, I think that you know, either one could have could have happened, but I think it was in some ways. Um Ah, turn off. I think that it was not something where you know, usually after a debate, What happens is that we'd be talking this morning about the different positions. People took on the issues who won on this issue or who won on that issue, But but that's not what people are going to be talking about. They go all going to be talking about the tone of the instability of it all. The fact that you know, the moderator lost whole early on. Never got it back that the whole thing went off the rails so quickly. That's what that's what's going to be memorable about this debate. You know. Typically, we look at the kind of a moment in the debate a moment that you know may have an impact all the way down the road, and there may have been a couple of those moments last night, but buying large What is going to be the story about this was the embarrassment in disgrace that this debate eventually concluded with You. What did you think of Chris Wallace as the moderator? I mean, clearly you got you got Donald Trump being hyper aggressive and I thought of noxious. Look, I've never said that. I I think Donald Trump is a jerk. I don't think I'd want to work for him. I voted for him. I'm still going to vote for him. But I think he's a jerk. And I thought Joe Biden came office. Not totally with it and himself pretty offensive, saying shut up, calling him a clown. I mean, you know he was much He was willing to jump in there and scrap, too. But I thought Chris Wallace made a point of Personally debating with Trump and asking loaded questions towards Trump that I'm trying to be objective here. Maybe you push back on me. I just don't think he asked the same loaded questions to Biden. Well, I think he no. Remember a time. She said. You know the president trying to get him to calm down a little bit. You know, you're gonna like the next question. Then I gotta ask Joe Biden. I'm gonna go ask question that's favourable towards you. I look, I think Chris Wallace overall is pretty darn good interviewer. I thought he was going to do a much better job, and he did. Um, I think he was probably in some ways surprised by what had happened and just couldn't get this thing. I'm back on the rails whatsoever. And, you know, you know, there's a question about you blame Chris Wallace. Do you blame Donald Trump? Do you blame? You know both participants? Um, but at the end of the day, um, you know, I thought this had the potential to be the best debate. The cost of Chris Wallace because of his capacity to ask program questions and it didn't happen. Um it's just got off the rails and never got back on. And, you know, at the end of the night, I just thought that it was a um, you know, I thought I remember. I told you yesterday, I told you the end of the end of the debate. Chris Wallace might be the winner before. That was a bad prediction. Ah. Because you know, no one's calling him a shining star of this whole thing. I'm not sure that that's his fault. I do think he framed. Some of the questions in a very Negative way the vulnerability for Donald Trump. I think at the end of today, and all the analysis is going to be Donald Trump didn't announce white supremacy as if he has this obligation to do that, again and again and again, to be the moment they're going to try to. You know, the Trump campaign will try to deal with that today, but the end of it, I think I think here's a situation that would ban for the president. You know, Certainly they wanted to prevent Joe Biden during this sort of doddering senile, not with its kind, and I think at the end of the day, this made probably more questions about Trump's personality. Then you know Biden's capacity there and at the end, if you see these polls that show that Trump's doing very well overall, particularly with doing better with men and with Biden, but not doing well with women. That was not a women friendly. Ah sort of debate performance by the president last. I don't think you added anything. There and you wind up with people who even prepped him like Chris Christie saying. Well, he was a little too hot. We can't or, um, say it was a missed opportunity. And you got you and you're gonna have a number of these Republicans running in Senate races. Um, any or in states like Maine in Colorado and Iowa, who were unhappy with that performance last night that you know

"The Maisonette with Kevin Nation many would say we're probably the most divisive stage that America's been at since perhaps the Civil War even more diverse than the 1960s. It's all about politics these days but I think know kind of where it all started. It's not what side of the political coin we live on it's about whether you believe experts or not. There's a group that doesn't believe in anything anybody who claims to be or is noted as an expert says they're uncomfortable with experts think about it when comes to covid-19 scientists are the experts some vote on the side of town leaving some fall on the side of Must Believe likewise when it comes to anything else we're living in right now. Do you believe the experts now? What's interesting is the experts change with every subject. So I think sometimes people group took expert together and say well the person's an expert they're just full of it people are uncomfortable with experts. I know I'm breaking it down to the simplest factors here, but experts could be our biggest problem or are they dead?

“American people were the losers”: Breaking down the first presidential debate

"News Radio's Rachel Sutherland Rachel Like a lot of America. Kept an eye on the debate last night. The word I see to be used an awful lot this morning Chaotic. You think that's a fair a fair word to describe last night's debate. Absolutely actually dreamt That meant yet men yelling last night. Probably not good. And for eight, you know, Chris well, famously said during debate 2016 between them Can Trump and Hillary Clinton that he's not a part of plant here. I think you might have wanted to be a Venus flytrap was what was going on. Not really. It was just almost impossible to keep it on the rails. And I think you know, watching this last night that the president might have done better to let The former vice president talk more simply because it would have given him more ammunition. It seems the president strategy was to throw biting off balance to kind of force him into one of his famous gas. And Biden strategy was to look presidential keep a Gaff from happening, but I think he was successful there and what I think is most effective when he spoke directly to the camera. But then I mean, even if it appeared a some points that the president Trump was debating Chris Wallace, the moderator, so things are just Um, really kind of off the rails and not a whole lot of substance that came out of this. People who are looking for discussions on the issues are wanted me here where Joe Biden stands on more the issues they they weren't able to hear that. Presidential debate: Trump and Biden trade insults in chaotic debate

"Tonight president trump and former vice president Joe Biden came face to face and then some for the first twenty twenty presidential debate we have seen our share of norm busting moments during this trump presidency during this campaign. But that debate tonight went well beyond what we have ever seen the topics ranged from the supreme court nominee to the pandemic. The night was chaotic. It was tough to watch on television. It got ugly at times featured razor sharp exchanges and personal attacks. The two hundred thousand people that have died on his watch you were here. It would be two million people. He has no plan for healthcare. He has like almost everything else. He talks about he does not have a plan. He doesn't have a plan and the fact is this man doesn't know what he's talking about. The history of potatoes

"Like corn and tomatoes, the potato was born in the Americas before it conquered the world, they come from the spine of mountains that run all the way down from from Chile all the way up through the Andes and really into the Rocky Mountains Rebecca Earl is a historian at the University of Warwick where she focuses on the history of food and on the history of Spanish America and potatoes are bang in the middle of her ven diagram potatoes are from the. Andes that much is clear. The earliest wild potato ancestor that's been identified is from the shores of Lake. TITICACA on the Peruvian side but there are a lot of potato varieties claimed by a lot of folks in the region. In fact, there have been some recent disputes between Chile and Peru over attempts by Peru to patent whole variety number of potatoes as being Peruvian and of it and part of our national patrimony. So where they originate doesn't sit so neatly. Onto national frontiers, wild potatoes bread, and down the America's they've even been found in Utah but it wasn't until about eight thousand years ago. The people in the Andes started to domesticate these kind of unpromising marble sized super bitter tubers. Potatoes came to form a really important part of life in the Andes because they can grow an incredibly inhospitable conditions I've traveled in the Andes. In Peru and not only did I get intense altitude sickness but people farming there look like. They're hanging off the side of the mountains the Andes. Are Super Tall and super steep. It's just rough terrain for growing things in the whole of Peru only something like three percent of the land is classified suitable for growing crops compared to twenty one percent of the US but for the potato, no problem at flourishes in those conditions. So yeah, the potato was a big deal in the region, but it was still the food of the people it was essential not special. Unlike the other big American staple corn planting of the maize crop was something that the Inca himself oversaw of the ruler himself planted symbolic wro of as as part of a big ceremony and there was a team priests who would prey over the course of the year to ensure good maize harvest and it was a whole lot of ritual associated with with maize the empire. was not very interested in potatoes. They saw potatoes kind of lowly everyday food that didn't have great spiritual resonance Mrs Going to be a theme with the potato that said on that lowly local level. The potato did have spiritual resonance. It was a day. T called the potato mother who looked over the potato harvest and ensured that it grew well. So it was very important not. Just in terms of Diet. But in terms of kind of ritual spiritual life on village, this was something the Spanish conquistadors picked up on right away when they showed up in the fifteen hundreds. So they said Oh these the people here eat a kind of route, which is the bread of the Indians as they put it they were always comparing it back and forth to. European. Bread they said it is their bread which meant it was the staple. It was the backbone of the Diet that said the Spaniards knew it didn't taste like bread. This is how a Spaniard described the potato. It's the very first written description that survives potatoes are something like Spanish truffles aside from being a bit bigger and not as tasty. They said potatoes, they are a thing. Like chestnut or a bit like a truffle oil parsnips they grow underground there were route and they eat them the way that we parsnips of the way that we eat chestnuts. So they quickly drew connections between. A variety of different things? Some root vegetables like Parsnips, turnips, and somethings like chestnuts that we might not think a potato is exactly like the texture is not on similar. If you bake a chestnut, you end up with something a bit mealy but like a potato Europeans brought this new truffle chestnut food back to Europe with them although we don't know exactly when like many crops that have spread around the world people didn't always record when they first saw it. It seems like the potato landed on the shores of Europe somewhere in. The second half of the fifteen hundreds I to the Canary Islands and then to mainland Spain and from there they spread across Europe and around the world. But in terms of how potatoes caught on, there's an old story that has stuck around for a long time. It's almost become conventional wisdom and it's that the peasants in Europe were pretty reluctant to give potatoes a try the old story is that peasants are inherently conservative and will not do anything new. They will not try unfamiliar cultivation techniques they won't eat new food they're they're basically backward-looking and highly superstitious and regard the novel with skepticism. So there's an old story that says peasants looked at potatoes and they said this food is not in the Bible we will not eat it and they said our grandparents didn't grow this food and we will not grow it added to that. There was the unfortunate fact that the potato is part of. The. Same Botanical family of the deadly nightshade. So that's kind of suspect and the potato doesn't grow from seed like a normal crop instead you so little bits of the potato the ground I mean, why would you trust plant like that? Europeans didn't understand this. They thought it was the food of the devil. There's a whole lot of old writing from decades. By historians who say that, Europeans looked potatoes and when they saw them, they saw something freaky on weird.

Supermarkets are stocked for Fall

"So we went through a time back in. April and May were there were all these dire predictions that we would have extreme food shortages in the United States and there would be things would not be able to get for who knows how long? And it led to a lot of panic buying. There's already been panic buying paper products toilet paper in various food items can goods things like that, but what the alarmists fail to take into account? Is How good businesses? How good business owners are how good capitalism is? At responding and reacting to things that seem like they're insurmountable in the short term But they're able pretty quickly to come to grips with it. And I know they're all already articles appearing. About how we're going to have a potentially very large spike. In Corona virus mixed with seasonal flu. Coming up as soon as in the next month. And that it's going to lead to. Panic. Buying from consumers again. For goods like occurred particularly in April and May. And I want to give you some peace of mind that retailers manufacturers. Have really responded to the needs of the marketplace. And have made changes that are going to. Make even some level of panic buying that could occur. Not have as much effect on product shortages. Is We had particularly in the spring and the you not going to have to run out and worry you're not going to be able to find whatever. So here are two factors. One that I address before and that is. The reduction and options or choices. That The supermarket industry. has moved much more towards. The aldy kind of model. Of reducing the varieties of goods they have on their shelves. Manufacturers have been part of that reducing the varieties and I think about something I consume that a lot of people are very upset that I consume this but I drink soft drinks drink diet soft drinks. and. The variety available to me and the packaging of them. is a tiny fraction of what it was six months ago the Pepsi, and Coke People. have been able to. help with supply by having longer production runs out having to change over lines of a smaller variety of both packaging and flavors. And it's allowed supermarkets to have. Much. Better inventory control than they would have had before and this happened across so many product lines. That the rationalization of not having thirty eight different kinds of catch up in a supermarket. Having just a few and maybe a couple of varieties assizes has made the marketplace much more efficient. The second thing is supermarkets have operated in recent years probably for about the last twelve years. On, what's known as a j it just in time inventory methods that are all the rage in corporate America. And having very little inventory available in many cases having just hours. Of Sell through of inventory in different product categories. Worked fine until corona virus and then it didn't work at all and any of a number of manufacturers and supermarkets are now stocking inventory in much larger numbers than prior and so that also means. There will be if there is panic buying, there will be the occasional spot shortages of different items but as far as things being in a situation like where we had very little of this that or the other available that is not going to repeat.

McCormick beats third-quarter estimates, resumes guidance and unveils 2-for-1 stock split

"We're going to start with the spice maker though because shares of McCormack actually down a little bit despite the fact that McCormick's third quarter profits in revenue came in higher than expected. They also announced a two-for-one stock split I WANNA, get to the stocks but in a minute, I'm assuming the slight drop one, two percent that we're seeing in the stock is the guidance because McCormack if I understand this correctly, they resumed their fiscal year guidance and it was a little bit lower than wall. Street was expecting. Maybe Based on the numbers I had seen that guidance they resumed was was right in the range that had been. The average expectations that had been on the street for some time now. But yeah, they they had pulled guidance a little while back and felt comfortable and getting back into it. This quarter. I think it's probably a couple of things I mean, let's remember. This is never a cheap looking stock relative to its growth rates in. So right now it's trading at around thirty three, thirty, four times. Full Year estimates you're talking about a company. That's yeah. They're putting up five, six, seven percent topline revenue growth that that doesn't quite a lineup and. I understand why the market pays up forward. It's very high quality business, but it's also stop that is trading at the. Know really attractive valuations. I can understand the tepid reaction but. They're also going to be making some investments here in the coming quarters suspending a little bit more. On, marketing and advertising and incorporating some new enterprise technology into the business that will create margins a little bit in the near term nothing to worry about it. It's all in the name of making the business even better than it is today and I think that you write. This was a really good quarter in a lot of ways. There was a passage on the call that I really summed it up and they said the significant shift to consumers eating more at home is persisting long enough that it has become a habit. So management, there is seeing that. The pandemic economy is obviously changed. Everyone's behavior restaurants have been hit very hard. People are having to cook more at home in. What we're starting to see is that people are doing this more and more in it's becoming something that's a bit more sustainable, and that is obviously very good news for them based on what they sell When you look at the actual growth, I mean they put up nine percent revenue growth this quarter, which is really impressive given their traditional three, four percent in this all organic to in consumer sales in the Americas rose seventeen percent compared to the third quarter a year ago. So a lot of really good numbers. Just, a very reliable steady business. I wouldn't let the market's reaction today. Bother me.

Gabrielle Union & NBC Reach “Amicable Resolution” Over ‘America’s Got Talent’ Discrimination & Misconduct Claims

"Union and NBC have reached a deal on her claims of misconduct and racial discrimination behind the scenes at America's Got talent. They issued a joint one line statement with no details, but deadline reports that union received a significant financial settlement. It was nearly a year ago that she was fired as a judge from the show. In addition to filing a harassment complaint, she also accused NBC Entertainment chair Paul Allege E of threatening her for speaking out.

The Breonna Taylor Case Must Be Reopened Immediately

"A whole lot has come to the light over the past forty, eight hours in. What we call the Briana Taylor case you know there's a part of me. That gets frustrated that we even call it the Briana Taylor case because a lot of ways. We should name it after the officers should name it after. Miles Cosgrove and bread, Hankinson and others. But we've learned a lot over the past two to three days and we're scheduled to learn a whole lot more tomorrow and what I really conclude as that this case is not over. It's it's not over just practically speaking there's a lot more to learn about it. But it's also not over from a prosecution standpoint and accountability standpoint. These officers particularly the two officers who shot and killed Brianna Taylor who were not charged. Those officers and many other people who were involved in this case from those who approve the warrant to those who falsified the warrant and everybody else up and down the chain who could be held responsible and accountable here there's a lot more work to do I I want to thank the team at vice news over the past couple of years. there have been a lot of complaints about the work conditions advice and even the low level of pay advice, and even a a culture of sexual harassment advice. And I know several people who have now just recently relatively recently started working there after all of these things came out. And you know they've said that the company is on a path to doing so much better and that's good news because we need. Credible fearless new sources involved in cases like this, and we also want them to to have a certain ethical standard and so congratulations to the team advice for the work they've been doing over the past few weeks. I I literally think they could win awards for this work. They Were the first people to get. Hours and hours of body camera footage from the scene. Now, we were always told that no police officers who were involved in the shooting of Taylor had body cameras. Now, we're literally and a lot of ways just forced to take their word for it. What we do know now though is that. Multiple officers had body cameras on when they arrived after the shooting and the team advice they have obtained and released. A good a good amount of that footage and it's Deeply insightful and incredibly problematic. We see several things in that footage including. Violations of policy. One thing we see is officer Bread Hankinson. After he has participated in the shooting violates a policy that almost every major police department in America has he then reenters the crime scene. This man was just involved in the shooting. And the Louisville Police Department has a policy that when you have fired your weapon and there's a crime scene, you're not allowed to reenter that crime scene. You are not allowed to participate in that investigation. It is a a major conflict of interest and he's not just there. He's asking people whose bullet is this WHO's bullet? Is that like he's in there we have no idea. How many times did he going there before someone had their body camera on did he change anything that we don't know what we do know is that he violated a policy that everybody in that department was aware of, and we we know this nice because officers have since been interviewed about about whether or not they're aware of this policy. But that officers there on the scene. Are telling him. You have to get out of here. And not only that you hear that in the body camera footage from multiple people saying two different officers you shouldn't be here right now. It was an obvious policy again though these men thought they were above policy. Again from how the the warrant was obtained to how they executed it. These men were were constantly. Going up against clear department policy, which shows not only frame of mind but shows just how they really saw themselves as above the law. Not, only that. We learned just yesterday that before the raid it was a no knock warrant raid where they for anybody who said they were they were not let into the home they broke into the home in the middle of the night. we now know that multiple officers raised red flags about the validity of the raid before it even happened. and. That's the right. Now one they never splits be clear. They never spoke up about this. We only know that officers were raising red flags about this raid on Brianna his apartment remember. Brianna was not a drug dealer quick quick to BS. There are no drugs in her home. Her Boyfriend Kenny was not a drug dealer and anybody who sang otherwise is lying neither Kenny nor Brianna had a criminal record. They. Committed no crimes. There was no evidence of crimes. There was no shadow of evidence of crimes there in in the apartment period point blank dot com there were no drugs there there. There was no illegal contraband or anything else in in their apartment in you know my position is even if such a thing was found in anyone's apartment, it truly does not warrant the danger that people are put in with these. No knock warrants. That's why the city of Louisville has now banned him. But we now have learned that multiple officers before the no knock raid, and after the no knock raid raise red flags about it.

"And hopefully we can learn from this crash and continue to make them safe. From doesn't matter how many times you see the crash still takes. My breath waits absolutely crazy but guys coming up Sunday. Give us a glimpse of what we're going to see later in the year for championship race at Phoenix. This all. I hope so what race it was. Plus more on the bounty of winters in expanding series. A bunch of different winters in four races. It's been fun to watch and we have this much excitement. We're GONNA get into far addition of through the field all here on NASCAR AMERICA CAR coming up. But here the odds for the Indy. Five hundred willpower. The current favorite at seven to one man. I'm liking cold. Heard of the youngster bound their twelve to one. I'd expect him to have a good month for Scott Dixon. Ten to one talk coming. That's him or Elliott. Fourteen one. I like this market. Stand for your retirement here. I'm disciplined enough are really biggest race to possible preview of Nascar Championship. There was a lot of excited about after. Sunday's racing feeds the cars that you had some issues now to pit billy's or whatever and go to the back you drive back to the front a lot easier so on the package. The aero package was a lot better than than last year. Short-track obviously the lower down horses. Make sure you can get behind the car. You can raise some kind of doing race review coming into this weekend looking back to twenty eighteen. I've forgotten how much better it was versus. Nineteen so at a lower downforce was a big part of it. But you know hats often ask the track for doing the. Pj One and for the tire they brought. I just think that the racing was incredible today. proud of the sport happened today. you know the the new rules back is the Jackson compound that was put down racetrack pedantic facing race you can follow a hell of a lot closer than you couldn't afford You know you could actually get into the corner behind the Guy. Roll up to his left rear and try to make them a little bit loose and try to make some moves on a guy so the package overall just allow you to be closer to everybody in front of you. Of course you know when you get strung out you get out every package I think is strung out but you'll raw raciness of IT I. I didn't hindered by following people into the corners near as bad as the other one so a lot of positives from the race we saw no offense to Joe Lagaan or Kyle. Busch but politely. I would care more with the fans thing with the drivers think and I think the fans and everybody.

We cry when it comes to these cars. This is into America a new podcast from NBC News and MSNBC. Doing the Bessie Ken for the country. And they're getting in the way it's make America feel safe again because she doesn't mean that we should lose on right to both. It's a show about politics about policy and about the power. That both had in shaping the lives of the American people it's hosted by me. Tremaine Lee and it features journalists from across our organization as an MSNBC correspondent and former print reporter. I've spent the better part of fifteen years covering every corner of this country from the streets of Chicago and New Orleans to the heartland of the Midwest. I've told the stories of everyday Americans definitely good to hear. You always want to hear that the wages are going up. I'd rather somebody new that I don't know I don't care what he says. He's not getting my vote. These voices matter in a critical election year like twenty twenty but the also matter after the election is over so each week will shed light on the candidates and their campaigns and will connect the dots between policies in the lives of people are the political spectrum. "An eventful field playoff awesome chase Elliott traffic all and they come back and win an just a really really good place. Yeah it really was so many different stories is and these races. I mean just when you thought you knew who had the momentum and what might happen in a race something totally different would happen. I know that true had a lot in raising danny dominated at Phoenix but still there were compelling stories throughout the racist and some drivers that made the playoffs. Kyle Larson got back to Victory Lane. You mentioned Chase Elliott Elliot Ryan Blaney. So some guys that you know we talk about the big names. Well some of the guys that maybe we didn't have going to victory lane prove they deserve to be in the playoffs by winning advancing dancing. Yeah perhaps the move of the play. Offs is somebody who is a lot of people. Don't know their name Caitlyn Larson. She Victory Lane. She brought a whole `nother level level down to the bare victory lane. Carl said he couldn't do it but she could so I love this because she is a racer. She comes from a racing family. She appreciates being in Victory Lane. And why we're here to have fun right well that's JP Kyle Larson's PR man in the blue there. And I was saying that he spilled more and took longer than Caitlyn license. So she's even the All star of that duo right there absolutely. I think she gained a whole another set of fans for Kyle Larson right there that afternoon. Okay we're going to do what we shouldn't do we're going to. We already were. They let us do it at. What's one more? So we're the GO-TO thick going to championship next year. Like the way too early predictions that I'll start it out. I'll give surprise you. Yes I'm surprise you I'm GonNa take ours. I think the winner is coming from Joe. Gibbs racing rule changes coming for twenty twenty one that to me means a major injured vantage two teams. That are running. Well now. Look at Joe Gibbs racing I feel like they are the best team and I think that helps me more next year. Not many. You're going to have to kind of split your attention attention getting ready for twenty twenty one and twenty twenty. I think Kyle Larson. I'm sorry I think Martin Checks Junior. His team bring the most amount of speed that racetrack every week. I'M GONNA go with Martin Ex. You know we were going to have to do this can i. I how about this is my too early prediction. Then I'm not gonNA pick a champion but I'm Emma predict a guy is going to go and join the multiple winner column and at Somebody Who's not even in the winter column. I Have William buyer and not only breaking through in two thousand twenty breaking through and winning more than one rates. Yeah talking to multiple winning season for William Byron drive twenty four just too good the second half of the season season Chad canals. Coming back top of the box first time in four or five years or have any consistency. Too early predicts that has not WanNa race multiple civil win that moving them young guys. They've show enough and showing that they deserve to be there. And so I like that idea. I'm going to give you a champion. And he's back-back Kyle Busch but my big news is is that the wood brothers get win number one hundred for them and it's Matt to Benedetto. That gets them there and they might win more than one race. Also I believe but I believe that he gets at least that number one hundred for the wood brothers I. I'm not sure there'll be anybody more enthused to be in their car in Daytona that Mattie and it could be the Daytona five hundred where he gets done how. `Bout that we're brothers back is they're making me feel bad. y'All take two drivers that have no wins between the two of them and said they're both going to win. Multiple races here picks martan-chu rex. I mean the low hanging fruit and you want a crazy one. I'm going to go back to back back. We'll be no rain. No Rain racetracks until twenty. Didn't we hear that earlier. This you hope it works. It's time to see did you. Ah Money Nascar America because he is the last time you buy Joy Gordon. Sorry your first. "Like last year. We got arrested for the new one so championship weekend has begun. Welcome to a special edition of Nascar America back here NBC studios with Parker Triggerman. Now Marty Snider Nate Ryan there in South Beach. How they get that assignment? Here man you will see their interviews reviewed the cup and xfinity championship for throughout the next hour and one of those expanded title contender. Maybe on the verge of a big move multiple reports are saying Cole custer will head to the cup series next season and replaced Daniel Suarez at Stewart. Haas Racing Suarez won the expanding series title in Two Thousand Sixteen. He then moved up to the cup series with Joe Gibbs racing before before moving over to Stewart Haas in the forty one car custer currently trying to win the xfinity series title for Stewart Haas racing he along with bell and Rettig have been called the big three this season due to their dominant performance. custer bell in Riddick of course have combined for twenty wins. This season This is there something you'd like to save. I know I know what you on the spot. I think you said it best performance is really think. This is a performance driven decision. If this turns out to be true and I know there was financial ramifications with what swears is bringing that sense but I think for Haas. It's just one of those things where you say. Hey here's someone who's really performing well lower series. We want to give them a chance to move up. And here's a driver ever who didn't make it in and that's really just not acceptable in that level commitment not to make him well. Of course the focus for this weekend is winning that championship mpn ship. He came up just a little bit short last year. said the Big Three you talk about performance. "Part of that they would have a twenty five foot section at their monitoring I think that is something that team if they didn't convey that or like really study that Hey William Byron needs to know that you can't be here because I think a driver generally with thank hey if I'm at the end this far down pit road I should be able to stop the accelerators hers I want there's No way catch me I think they knew there was a loop I just didn't think they could get over the average speed in that sense yeah he just came off the road and having to accelerate these better now than what he was what they felt that he can be there was a clipboard or heard from San from him I think he called it right it was basically an unofficial day he finished tenth and second-stage tenth in the race he's the kind of I was looking to make up points he didn't really do that I'm not saying that I'm concerned but I gotta be good on Friday for Clinton have good weekend and they had problems starting on Friday at that relegated them they never found the speed because they were working on a mechanical issue and when they don't have a good solid product seldom they had a good race and even Ryan Blaney minus twenty two they must win for him twenty two points is nothing that can be made up at Talladega alone in Talladega is really good for both those guys the Ford guys four strengthen numbers Stewart Haas dominated the Talladega racier it goes so I think Boyer and Blaney both can look Sunday Sports Blaney was the best car out of that penske do yesterday and had a good solid totten ron going and something breaking it was a good sales pitch but nobody says Talladega race for us they're all scared to death to be your enough next we're going to look ahead at why why is everyone so worried about that they all the craziness we expect to see welcome back to Nascar America some news today Rodney Children's crew chief for Kevin Harvick re signing with the team multi year deal so congratulations to the Kurds even the number four drives people to quit we talked about the craziness of Talladega winter Talladega quarter it so as a crew chief even crew chief Dale Earnhardt Jr. I've never felt good about going to Talladega one from the front the Dj you had success there of the guys here on the table you're the only one that's had the drive into this chaos and what is that like I you know something that you either race or you don't and there's no doubt that every driver knows what is at stake in what is there I think the playoffs have added something to that for these drivers twelve that are still involved there obviously arson as stated he doesn't have any worries he's GonNa go there and be happy with whatever happens but there is a level understand that something can happen but you have to raise it the way that you as a driver what you feel I think trying to listen to a spotter or crew chief tell you where you need to be the wrong thing as a driver yet to make up your mind and be decisive on what you want to do and what you're going to get out of this day one word down here that I think has changed plate racing stages cruising around these drivers have to go to collect and they're going to have to embrace it like Dj said the only guy is fully embracing it is kyle as we mentioned Harrison's wreck here and they got on his live as he put it I think I believe him you can believe them when he says I will be smiling throughout the raise I think everybody else to your points de sales job they're gonNA have to convince themselves that they really want to be here and be racing for Pointer Oh my gosh that's a good.

I'd like to be one of those windows. It's for the kids so it's always good and on Wednesday. Jimmy Johnson sponsor ally financial hosted a group of local students this on the Hendrick motorsports campus part of ally fuelling futures a program that educates middle and high schoolers about career paths in motor sports as well as the finance finance relief force. Jimmy was involved in last year's memorable finish at the rose bowl by he hopes this time around. He'll be in victory lane peaceful with our gave birth for years. Jimmy Johnson and his wife Sandra had been giving back to public education in today's no different although it has a little bit different spin on Jimmy. What are we doing here today. Yeah this is largely allies initiative where they really want to teach financial responsibility to kids all around the country we're here today at. Hendrick motorsports went a high school. Students are here and not only learn about financial responsibility but also you know the career paths that exist in a place like Hendrick motorsports where you'd think was just racing but when you really break it down there's engineering and marketing and public relations in a variety of different things that hopefully we can inspire here today at in their stem students so they're interested interested in engineering but but to get that financial element obviously allies bank main focus that'll be key for managing your money to me right way to learn that yeah we had to learn the hardware bravo in typical fashion they want to do it right and and it's a big initiative for them and so it's really important to them to teach that financial responsibility and and I'm taking some notes because I have a nine and a a six year old coming along and we're trying to take care of allowance right now notes from them back to you. Perhaps on the road this weekend because there's not a lot of the data. What did someone call it a subset of one. We have right for one race but going back to this place now. What's your forecast this year. I just need to make that last. yeah that'd be a very important part and not crash morten but it it just a really technical and demanding track and then. I think the changes made we're going to add add another layer of that. the garage area smart you know so. I think our cars are just naturally going to be quicker. We're in around there. Faster Pace plus the higher downforce force. We have on issues package. I think the higher downforce should bring some comfort to us. We're really on its last year so I'm hopeful at least that the higher downforce Coleman cars out a little bit and you mentioned the exit that was that last lab. That's where you nailed it right and you had an incite. You're under a lot more pressure last year I would think because it was a transfer race for story this year a little bit more free and easy and maybe that much more dangerous yeah. I think for a couple reasons one. You're absolutely right with the transfer. Although I wasn't thinking of it it was all about a win I could've finished second transferred and moved on but I was thinking of the wind and then you know just in a rebuilding phase right now. We're trying to rebuild the forty forty eight and make it into what it would will be known as from from this point forward clearly. We have a huge history which had canal the helm car. the history of the car is all about but but we're in a building face in two thousand nineteen really has been a building face. I think we're in a good spot now and we're really looking to these final eight races to set aside for two thousand twenty okay so let's go ahead and talk about the fact obviously looking for redemption this year at the Rosebowl. Can it happen. I mean when you're not in the playoffs. Jimmy Johnson I mean he had a shot last year. It was going for that win. You just said I think it really can happen last year at the robot me from the time that they designed the racetrack. When we started testing testing there he was just on it and you know he's got a road course win but you wouldn't consider Jimmy Johnson the best road course driver out there but I mean he showed up. They were quick from the moment. They got in the race track. During the weekend he was fast and and obviously right here. He had an opportunity to go for the win and now I know I know some people at the time when like why didn't you just settle to make it to the next round the let's not Jimmy Johnson style. You don't win seven championships settling he hasn't won for a while so I don't see now this weekend if they have that same type of speed where he's got no pressure trying to make it to the play. He's trying to spoil everybody to go out there and why he can't do that. Yeah well first of well. He sent it in there which I thought was awesome to watch and I think one of the things I remember from last year was how fast he was actress Chicane. We've completely changed that he was just incredible. Bill meth remade made that huge run on Martin tricks junior coming to that final chicane was that batch when he just got an amazing run through it he was so faster through there all day so I think that was was something that's maybe been taken away from them in terms of what was so good there but he mentioned having higher downforce having more security in the car sorts of things. I think all that's just going to play if you had you were comfortable last year. You're probably going to be more in terms of just having more downforce. The cars could be a little bit more underneath us. Hopefully I'm hoping we'll find out and I think it just having that second year of knowing it's not such an unknown all that through winds up and I think there's an air amongst that team and from Jimmy of confidence I sense you know I know they've mentioned to me a couple of times about having good vibes within that race team and I just think that right now they're in a zone of seen like hey we don't have much to lose at this point so everything serval positive and they he mentioned you building towards next season. I absolutely think that race team is in that positioning okay. We're not gonNA give them to the changes that they made to the track layout. That's coming up later in the show but Jimmy did have a quote last week on racing as a non playoff driver he said I saw quite a few situations where drivers in the playoffs took. Some desperate moves out there. It's not having to other drivers. I have a a few make a move on me as well. It's a tricky situation to be and I know they're going after every point they need but I am i. We currently plan to not allow myself to be used up as I was in Vegas a a couple of times so right there shows that aggression I mean you guys have both been there. You know like in the sense of your racing for something to even if you're not in the playoffs I both situations I made the playoffs and I've been the guy that that has been in the playoffs and no driver wants to be that guy that goes out there in REX playoff contender tender but at the same point they the people that are in the playoffs left understand that like hey the people out of the playoffs. They're quite upset. Jimmy Johnson's. He's never been in this position before so he somewhat forgets hey. He is that guy that used to do that. Every year and you know you take somebody like Daniel Suarez where oh he's he's bouncing off his teammate on the I lab where he got into Joey Logano. He's at an organization that has cautioned the playoff set of one races. He says he was at an organization. The previous couple years that headquarters in the playoffs in one reason he hasn't Wanna racing so he has a lot of pressure for him. Whether maybe he's fight for job or just trying to go out there and win his first interest rates the Austin Dillon thing in bowman at Richmond no or CR they've had struggling year. They're not happy so the drivers that aren't in the playoffs or frustrated straighted and I always looked at it is I don't WanNa be that guy that causes an issue with the playoff drivers have a lot more to lose than I do. So how much risk are are they willing to take and there's a fine line there so that's been my point and I find that some really interesting question. I get asked a lot especially this season driving in a part time capacity. You don't Indy. Just a couple of weeks. Ago was really awkward for me. In terms of I know for my race team. I owe it to them. That are out there looks the same to me doesn't matter what situation there and I've got to beat beat him because as a part time team every finish so much to us or not running there for points. It's literally what that finishes the end of the day matters most and I'll tell you though that no matter what when I was racing around gale swerves in Indy I couldn't help but think man. This guy is a lot to lose today. You know this guy.

"On Nascar America here with AJ Almudena and Parker clergyman both of whom are racing this weekend. Aj and the xfinity series Parker in the Cup series so this Thursday shows really just like a warm up act for the main event each other. That's probably we could be nice erased. Were both going to be on victory lap as well so that he's got game. They give me tips. This gives me no not going to happen to watch but you can watch him on Saturday. Yeah Jack. We're GONNA have to on the show today. We have a lot to get to Jimmy. Johnson does miss part to hold local students and also explains the challenges. You of the Charlottesville involved in the big finish facing a must win situation. We go behind the driver. When Eric Jones reveals the biggest influence his racing career and if another edition of his tail time we take a trip to a short back in North Carolina the tax a lot of fun but we are. I still breaking down the big news from yesterday. Ralston racing announced that it will part ways with Ricky stenhouse junior at the end of the two thousand eighteen season and the Chris Buscher will rejoined organization and drive the number Seventeen Ford Mustang next year and I know social media going crazy with everything someone. Aj reached out to you already said they had maybe the answer that you should be. You should be in the car and he responded with this. I mean I had I had my time and yeah and I'm happy here at the NBC. You See sports family. That's not Mr tickle your cat. Okay no posture yes before we do start this discussion. If you do want to try to follow along there's a lot of moving pieces log on to NBC Sports Dot Com Nate Ryan just posting today the latest it kind of helps sort of break everything down and I guess that's what we have to do here Parker because any time time in any sport an athlete changes address moves teams. You always want us. Okay who who wins in this you know what rush fenway racing does this move. They needed to make for the organization. Are they now on the better side of things. I think you need to look at this organization from what they've been trying to achieve the last couple of years to see how they won here how they cheat with maybe they're trying to achieve and therefore for what I go back to is over the last couple of years. We've watched this organization continue be fringe playoff organizations. They've tried to manipulate ways into the playoffs. They have always called them the team. That's it's money bowling their way into the piles whether it's really focusing on the super speedways with Ricky stenhouse junior and putting a lot of resources on those races in trying to get a win to get in the playoffs house or trying to look at points late in the season say okay. What do we need to do. Average finish wise to make sure we're in the playoffs but what Ryan Newman expose this season was that there there's a path for this team outside the top twenty in fastest cars they could point their way into the playoffs and I think this was. Maybe one of the worst things ricky in that. He's not the type of drive. It really buys into that point situation. He wants to just go out there and rates for wins. He's going to go out there and try to get just the absolute best performance out racecar. He's very aggressive driver. Whereas Newman showed there was the path by being maybe a little bit more consistent a little bit more focus on the point situation so when you look at that and you look at what Chris Butcher does and what he's achieved this season at jt with with numerous top twenty s I mean the best in that organization's history you have to think they looked at those numbers and said all right if we're truly looking at this moneyball situation how can we manipulate the system to make sure that were in the playoffs the best chance they have is someone like Bush over Ricky stenhouse junior because what newman showed them this year and call what it it is. If you look at Chris Butcher he's just a younger version of Ryan Newman. I mean I mean that's essentially what you're saying is. He goes out there and does the same thing he maximizes the race car. He never tears up equipment and I saw this firsthand. He doesn't tariff equipment on his own. I think I count on one hand by himself something that he did the couple of years that I raised with them. He didn't tear up any equipment he maybe had three or four wrecked by himself and he goes out there and make sure that he gets all the points possible. which is what he's doing right now? That's how he's got. The thirty seven car inside the top twenty points had sixteen top twenty in a row up until Richmond this past weekend so so he is a version of Newman now the only thing we've never seen Chris Butcher because he hasn't had the equipment in the Cup series is if they get the cars close enough. Can you go out there and win races in my opinion seen it firsthand being with him every weekend seen how he gets everything out of the race car if they get those cars close enough to to go out there and contend for winds. Maybe not a weekend basis but you picked tracks like Bristol certain places like that and there's so many Chris Amazing at Michigan Kansas. You get cars snuff there. He can go win race so I think this is a great move for row fenway and a great move for Chris Butcher himself. I would like to go back to I think a lot of people overlook the fact of okay for Ricky stenhouse one of the things that I love watching him race cars is that he is so aggressive but he is someone who puts it all on the line. It doesn't matter if it's practice qualifying or the race. He's GonNa give it one hundred ten percent. I love that about him. I love watching him drive race cars for what row Ben Racing trying to achieve though he probably has proven not to be the driver for them and what they're trying to do and that's what I believe. Steve Mo- new Mark Really alluded to in his comments insane. They've started to see a path and he just doesn't align with that path but there is an organization out there possibly that his driving style and the ways we can. San How's it goes about driving that would work for them. It just wasn't right for times. He made those cars look faster gas. Ask actually were but we saw time. He just didn't get the finishes because of being a little too aggressive so you guys are saying I mean I liken it to a quarterback with a great arm but you're playing for a team that likes to run. The ball is just not the right strategy major that fit for that team but there's always sides to every story so we're talking if Rao Fenway is a winner in this situation. What does that mean for? NJIT racing and you're saying you know Kristie well. You raised with him. let's go ahead listened before you get into this discussion a little audio clip from Brad daugherty. Ah About everything went down. Yeah totally caught US off guard because we're we were already building stuff the next season. If everybody else does and getting ready and preparing and you know we do our business a little bit different than a few other folks we really drive you know small packets salk talk to package good product placement stuff really really hard with our partners at Kroger and so yeah we were in the full throes trying to put something significant together and thought we had it done on and pretty close to it and things change. It's like this sketches you off. You know really by surprise this late in the year especially you know you're trying to be a professional as you possibly can. about how you handle these situations i. I don't ever blame any athlete if he thinks he's putting himself in the situation. It's going to be better for him. His family got no no problem with that. It's just for us. It's always the timing and and getting this late into the season when you have commitments it makes it very difficult to swallow this easily so listening to that it sounds like Brad Tatton Jody Scheckter. They were blindsided by this move. I really do think they were blindsided by it. But what the Info that I've gathered in enough people I've talked to in wait somewhat knew it worked is there was a deadline and create. He was not a row fenway driver anymore. When it per se the first year he was at the race is team. He was on loan so he was still route fenway driver that they were alone and after that he became a JT driver but there was a clause in the contract that when Chris was having basically to resign or if the team wanted to resign them it had to be done by a certain date if that date passed Chris and his management team. They let routes fenway no hey they don't they didn't sign so that was a couple of months ago. I don't think anything was really happening until about two weeks ago. It sounds like back and then all of a sudden the wheels in motion started happening and Tuesday night sound like the deal was like this is going to happen Wednesday morning. Everybody knew so to be perfectly honest. I think it was almost a mistake in the sense. There's not a Lotta rides out there so maybe they just thought well. We can kind of just delay this. Take our time because we're GONNA go. There's no rides out there. Where's he going to go next to no ride opened up and he's gone and it's a shame for that race team because he's been doing a fantastic fantastic job and he's made that car inside the top twenty in look strong every weekend so it's going to be interesting they find replace it. We you bring up a good point and that's that AH relationship but crispus your has with Russia and I'm glad you explained that because it sort of puts the pieces in motion or the timeline of the fact that oh wait. There's this kind of contingency. Let's see I guess kind of floating out there. I mean he gave fenway their first or their last and most recent extending series championships and he was with them since he was sixteen years old back all the way to the orchestra series wins achieved champion there for the rule of brothers with being around family relevant driver he didn't get to any inexperienced series takes full holdout. Opportu wins the championship you know they invested in Chris Bush Bush or as a driver vested in his career to bring him up through the ranks and teams will do this. We saw this for numerous years over the last ten or fifteen years. I was a penske development driver. They invested in my hi career and one thing you do if you were to leave them a point and I remember this with Penske was always sort of an unwritten thing. Hey if there's ever a chance for us to join back together you look forward to that because this is the team that took you as a young kid and gave you the opportunity and they thought highly enough of you then and they think highly enough of you in the future to say hey. We want you to come back so that's great situation so. I think you look at it and say okay. He's been gone for a little bit from our tramway but he was always there with them in some respects and they did so much for him to get to this point that he almost went into opportunity come back together like this to benefit both parties then it's a no brainer in that sense so I think it's a cool story in that sense to see teams who have invested young talent to be rewarded in in sort of roundabout way to come back and say okay this guy we invested and now he's come back to hopefully help bus continue our march forward to be more in the playoffs and he's far better off being being in that car now that he was he got out of it right out of the extremely series the experience level having what now four years and that he's been in he knows how to get the job. Bob Dunne and you know I'm a huge fan of Chris. I love being his teammate. We got along great and I learned so much from home and I think as I said rush fenway. They're getting in closer. I mean Heck Ryan. Newman's got a chance to make it to the next round of the playoffs so they're getting closer. They just get it close enough. Both those drivers we know can go win races all right. Let's not right off that thirty-seven still that missing domino of what happens next so we look forward to seeing what happens there but you mentioned making that next round of the playoffs we're GonNa talk about. The role gives us a big race coming.

"The last three years year two years i guess with this package edge they've been fantastic and we had really good cars before that before this package but but just solely on this particular arrow injured package junior murray sports has done a fantastic antacid job of making sure that we're as fast as we can be the hendrickson shabas done a fantastic job of making sure where we need to be and and we'll load it and i mean i. I told jason on the radio i said man. I'm easy wide open. It's i don't know what to do any better. It's really good and when you can unload that way and your teammates can unload oh that way even though they never been here i mean jeb and noah both were faster than i were in. The first practice never been here before. That's that's really impressive so as you look ahead to the play offs and and you would like to change tomorrow that you don't win at this point in time even if you don't get that win these next two races and head into the playoffs you still don't feel like that that you and your team or a championship caliber that you can be a one of those ford homestead. I feel like the last two months we've made huge strides. You know our program agenda sports. We obviously didn't get out of the boxes strong as he wanted to this question we we. We all talked about it. We know it <hes> but the guys went back to work. They worked hard. They've done a fantastic job the last two two and a half months we've we've kinda righted the ship. I feel like we've done a lot. Better job and you know yeah. I wanna win race. I want to win two races before the starter arta but last year we won five races including this race and went on to the playoffs and it was his lacklustre his is disappointing playoffs as you possibly i mean we had fifty or sixty points going into the going into the playoffs and still didn't make the final four you know we were. We were in jeopardy or not even making the final eight yeah you know and so i i look at it for us. We have to go to the playoffs and have momentum so these reasons obviously important but i don't believe at this point. We need a win. We need five wins in the playoffs. Including home said we'll be in great shape. We're we're almost out of time but what would to a romain here. I don't think there's words. They're gonna try but you know. This place is his historic. It's incredible and it would be it would mean a lot. I think i think i would actually do the second one more because at first when you saw the emotion i it was so emotional when i got done i was like man i. I don't remember half the stuff i did. I really don't i got pictures of all of it but it was just an emotional event. I feel like if you do that again. It would be way more emotional all right. We appreciate your taking thanks to all the drivers who stopped by by the way. What did we learn today. In the show kyle rut to drummer. I didn't know dirt rudder. Drummer austin is putting a mustang engine in a station wagon. Yes which i think is kind of cool station. Why that's going to be fast. Tyler is not gonna tell us what he's going to do. In twenty twenty twenty him to take his helmet and sell it for victory for sheds going to get the seven eleven helmet and we learned that justin is not going to tell tyler any secrets especially especially about where he thinks he can win. Against a great place to hell they do great work. Yeah you know i it's a great great looking car but it's the winter and a lot of for a lot of different reasons for all of us. That knew that young man as you say what a great young man. He was an excellent race driver. He was going to be going to be fun to follow that career but <hes> this is great. I'm excited to get down. There can't wait to see those schemes up close this this weekend but i lost ahead today on nascar america. We're gonna take a look back. At christopher bell road america victory. I think a huge victory and could bell one of the names to watch during nascar's silly season ryan's gonna join us to talk about that and also we'll chat a little motocross with the motocross champion the two fifty atoms and sorolla <music> six hundred forty acres of fun. That's wisconsin's road america and we go green now a big lockup by just an all his into the gravel customer off the track and into the sand trap oh three wide. That's not not gonna work for long. There's nothing really on the line here right now for christie rebel is not time to force the issue of trouble at front syndrich pushing fell down hard in the corner and syndrich challenging it does get ahead of the twentieth bell last quarter takes a peek down there now syndrich locks them up a little bit here comes christopher bell great pass by christopher bell brexit go he gets into the tennis spinning and the second spot has changed benedetto now in the second now looking for the checkered flag as a car behind him win number six six for christopher bell and it's gonna come at road america. Now carrion card and matt to benedetto was the car off in the final corner. You'd cited of of course saying that good to second place vision win at road courses. I guess i just get lucky on these things. That's richard the rest of rebel curly. Leading expedia series standings sky. He has been on fire last ten race some of this. He's finished outside outside the top three only twice. Wow that's impressive. You gotta get on a good streak. I tand win a lot of racist d._j. You cover that one but watching on t._v. He was as excited excited as i think i had ever seen him had something to prove it a road course and well. It should be and he can stop with the. I'm trying to tell you that. I'm not a good road racer in in two seconds and a first but this i was impressive. I mean he had road racer al around him austin syndrich. He passed him back after getting passed on light race restart a._j. Almanac was doing everything he could possibly do. "<music> <music> dowling can is supposed to be the meanest racetrack trek darlington international right way the granddaddy of them all this produce victims of uncommon valor kale jabre dave pearson or move into a showdown you too tough to tame and i say the lady in black has eld up with with all her southern spellbinding term. This is a lady. You'll never forget walking to nascar. America stephen qatar jeff burton. Dale jarrett aren't ready. That's all it took for me. I'm fired up ready to go down one of my favorite race tracks of all time and now what has quickly become come one of my favorite weekends with all the history and the throwback this year the from nineteen ninety to ninety four era so i'll give you a little sneak that both you guys are in the throwback so i don't know how you feel about that. What's it like down darlington so i i loved arlington. I grew up my dad used to take us to watch races and used to sit in the grandstands which now is used to turn for covered grandstands your ears ringing for a week you know to me. The history is so rich there <hes> that track means so much to the history of racing and very few fluke winners have happened at darlington. You know whether it's this other five hundred or the four hundred they're both big races and they're hard to win. This one might have been a little bit of luke but but yeah we'll tell the story. Why are you so excited. The right front is knocked completely off well. We we'd gone there little laughs in the past and couldn't win a race their life beating lassie last we find a way to screw it up and every the time and then we're coming. We're driving and terror. Three starts pouring down rain and i knocked down. I'm one of four or five that hit the wall. I'm leading the race as senate. It's destroy needs a fronts now like so i kept shoved in third and second the gas to it and kept going around. Eventually you know had the red for the rain and they never quit raining so that's how we won the lead dollars laps and they've been found a way to win some kind of way like that very strange yeah well anyway you you can win at darlington is a good way such a tough track and probably doudou respect a david pearson being the one and only that might attained it more than bitch you as a driver. I think the rest of us were were in the negative side of that no matter how many we might have one or or how much fun but it was always such the cia think that's just the best thing is driver is that you knew what you had there and it was still so very difficult and as suspense have gone up there because of how the technology technology and the tires have gotten better. It's even made it even more difficult. We're looking forward to this weekend a lot of great paint schemes so you mentioned the speeds going up. Imagine turn to with this package how fast they are going to be going for. Turn to i mean the darwin's is one of the racetracks in the world where you drive in the corner. Go wide wide open and a gas in one and then lift off the gas over to turn to like that's crazy. You don't know where else but with the package run this year. I mean they are going to be rolling alternative. It's gonna be fascinating to watch and with that speed. I think it's going to be an interesting mix because you talk about darlington how challenging it was. I don't think it's completely the inaccurate to say when they had to repay their force to repave. You took a little bit of that kind of bite out of the lady in black. The pavement was new. You kinda run tires ars long time. You saw some interesting strategies. Well that is dawn when you look at the last couple races there the old asphalt even the look of the old asphalt is back. The tires are going aware but where does that match up with all this downforce. I expect the fall off to even be bigger because they'll go so fast start. I wanna do is going to be close to wide. Open may not exit a two but across the top one two then you get down in three. We're gonna see more fraud carried than we ever have so. When you talk about the difficulty of darlington the track conditions conditions i think are back to historic garden. We've always seen. I think a little.

"Obviously come back in the ten car. Matt di benedetto obviously had an amazing weekend last weekend. He'll be in the eighteen which has been great car and not obviously our sees regular. I think bells didn't really good job with the courses and <hes> but but our road course races always have some sort of a curve ball thrown at us. You know you got to be in the top five if you don't runoff the racetrack road america so i'm looking forward to it i it's it's gonna be fun. It's gonna be a dogfight and got got to have a blue-collar day to be there. At the end yeah the challenges orange of road america versus the two road courses that walking slanted mid ohio. What what do you face this weekend. One the tracks a lot longer so i think it plays different roles for the strategies you can play <hes> tired aggregations a lot longer but are a lot more but you can do more with with when you pay versus versus restarts stored in trying to dissipate those things and there's more passing zones american because you have the really big breaks owns a intern five candidates so i think there's more opportunities for a lot a lot of different things but there's fourteen of the racetrack so there's a lot more opportunity to screw it up at the same. Time is such an exciting race to watch. We're going to go back to the phones. Oh happy birthday anthony. Since you're a month apart <hes> james is our next caller james. What's on your mind. Hey good buddy good all right. <hes> i wanted to ask austin <hes> with the cubans watkins glen and mid ohio <hes> there's more confidence going into america's well the play offs for the xfinity yeah. I think it touched on earlier. The fact that we have playoff points in the bank <hes> not only from winning one race for two races ma- makes our playoffs offs a little easier knowing that we can you know have solid days and still but he'll move four but yeah i think i think it gives us momentum but at the same time there's different challenges salinger's between each race track the challenges we had watkins glen. Were you know trying to outrun the eighteen and then when the eighteen was gone. You know who's going to be mean a._j. To the end of the race and figuring out okay what strategy can can we do to to to try and flip things and then mid ohio where.

"In a beautiful day here in the irish of michigan marty schneider steel del jared and jeff burton join you for a nascar america fan friday and tell you what guys qualifying session was fun i mean and kept seeming meaning as it went on another guy atop another guy and then the last guy goes out brand kazlauskiene wins the pole. Yeah i think the question was who would find something from practice. There are so many cars. I don't think we expect it in the speeds compared to the first time here. We're talking over half a second faster in the poll that just shows this was a non impound. Give those crew chiefs cars and say hey run. Whatever whatever set up you want to make a faster for one yeah the drivers like that too if you can have that car set up just for that one lap instead of having to try to go out and take a ray setup and go as fast as you possibly can with just a few adjustments there incredible at what we watch. They're just as the speeds continued to get a little bit better there but i don't think anybody was surprised at the car that ended up in driver <unk> oscar winning the pole and there is walking to our set. We'll have him on the set in mere moments two hundred one hundred ninety miles an hour for him steve but i have to the team that impressed me. The most was motorsports. I mean we talked about them this. They were a second off this morning. How did they find a second qualify up in the top five when the nine made his first lap but i thought it was going to be a bad day for the nine car as you mentioned one second off that is light years when it comes to nascar racing and a two mile racetrack. I haven't talked to allen gusts in the garage area. He said it's it's been a struggle. We're not bad. We're just too slow. We've made some changes but i think he played a pretty good handle poker because i was still concerned form and and i don't think he had any reason to be concerned improving greatly early in their qualifying round yeah and they've made great strides throughout this entire year and i think that was probably something that they came here. Maybe with one idea and made some changes because there's not a ton you can do but i think they knew exactly where they needed to go if they didn't have the speed that they were looking for but they found that in qualifying see if that translates into some good race cars formal sunday so we mentioned one hundred ninety miles our qualifying d._j. But when you get into the race and your wide open as long as he's drivers are how much of a challenge is the race of. They're gonna a face on sunday. Yeah becomes more of a challenge than when they were running around here a little over two hundred miles per hour. You're backing out of the gas and let nicole role for a while. You just have to hustle these car for so much anymore and if you're going to get speed out of them they can't be what a driver would like to feel which would be a little bit of a tug on the wheel as you go through the corner you just that describes rubs off too much now and so you have to drive these things on the edge all the time and a pack of cars where the air is just knocking you around and i think that's the biggest issue these drivers average face yeah when i talked to kuchis on what the goal is tomorrow in race practice the concern is they don't know because you could go out there and it's so circumstantial you can be in one pack of cards and your cars. There's a little tight the same setup two laps later in a different area of the race track behind a different group of cars can be loose so a lot of it is a big educated guess on how much downforce you need for sunday day how comfortable your driver can be and as d._j. Said he can't be too comfortable. He's too comfortable by itself is going to be nowhere near close enough to get a pack so he talked about the fact that this is a non impound weekend weekend they get practice tomorrow and then they'll get tech the cars before the race on sunday and everybody.

He's he's the creator of many businesses that we love to talk about here. Throughout the show and it's kind of the topic for today is just entrepreneurship. What does it look like? You know what why is it good for our country of America you know and just dig deep into all that stuff if the mindset and different things like that so travis. I'm excited about the show. How about you yeah? I'm really excited just going through as you're busy guy was looking at your twitter facebook and Blah Blah all that stuff man. No not at all dangerous man uh-huh you've already signed up for a couple of businesses. Haven't you sent me up right so that's that's so let's start there. I guess I guess that would be the most important thing. Is You know we we live in America. This is called everyday America the podcast so so first and foremost just made from your perspective as how important is entrepreneurship for our country. That's a great question. I had no idea what Russia we'd be heading but that's <hes> that's a great question in my opinion in my opinion that entrepreneurism is is it's highly highly important when it comes to the economy in general because entrepreneurs to create opportunity entrepreneurs create jobs opportunity or entrepreneurs creek a that drain. Everyone is looking for but if you're looking for capital flood if you're looking for financial stability <hes> most times people are getting out from jail be from a job and and they're usually working for somebody who had created a business ahead of event had a vision had a concept brought it into fruition and then boom they got a business and the individuals who are working for that business so entrepreneurism. The importance is what helped make America what it is today well. I mean that's what people don't maybe realizes that every person the has a job work for entrepreneur have some sort correct every every job out there weren't entre is created by an entrepreneur. I mean at least initially but I mean there's a lot of publicly holded <hes> companies out there right now that have win a different route <hes> <hes> I mean I think probably most of them started out that way. Yeah I would venture to guess all of them. Have I'm the professional stock trader so I deal with the publicly traded stocks and if you look at the genesis of every major business that's out there. Apple is with Steve Jobs. I mean you can go on and on with with <hes> Microsoft too. I mean you all the big blue chip companies that are out there Coca Cola Pepsi G._E.. They all started with an individual that had a dream in started a business and it becomes so large a lot of them become conglomerates so I did you say that you won't have a business without somebody with a vision in in his taken the wrist and taking the steps for you know spawning that I did and foolish into a tangible item that that <hes> commerce has created so does you you mentioned a dream. I gotta ask you. This might be a little bit deep early on but what does this dream kick over the world. Well now my dad. That's a great question which one of you just outside. That's Travis Jones yeah. That's the could be <hes> well. My dream is family. Guy Is having the freedom that everybody hopes for having the financial security assure you that will give me peace of mind and the ability
