"That day and she's really representative of this new generation that we've been talking about on a journey through the museum. Really trying to find her grandfather to understand his experience in those with whom he served the people he was trying to help save and find herself in all of that and so we hope through the psa. And i'm very lucky to work with you. Know a series of different partners who are providing donated support or at airing in a lot of different places To help start a conversation with with young people about what this experience is in the context that they need to understand it and sort of walk away from it with an appreciation of power all connected to one another still in how even in the face of versity admirable lhasa light. We we have within ourselves to to rise about bet To show compassion in the face of a tragedy and an really answer challenges as they come to us together in. And that's the the hope in its Star had conversation that can continue well past the anniversary as as other other sort of activities planned to orientations. Are you aware of any other Doing things respectfully of course around the anniversary. Yeah i mean. We have a lot of great partners if you visit. Never forget dot org. You will see them listed but you know whether it is. Walmart tore cantor fitzgerald or bank of america bloomberg so many who are working with us And then when you move past just sort of philanthropic support into other areas a partner partnership you know the networks airing. The psa clear channel outdoor so many are trying to help us create key moments. One of them will be what we're calling. Remember the sky and steve. I don't know if you have visited the museum. The app for anyone that has in you no doubt remember. There is a Monumental art installation. It's made up of two thousand nine hundred eighty three individual paper tiles one four. He victim killed on nine eleven and in february ninety three but he just different shade of blue And it is called trying to remember the color of the sky on that september morning and it was created by an artist named spencer finch And it taps into you know. I think the idea that while two billion people. It's estimated experience nine eleven in one way or another if there is a universal memory of that crystal clear blue sky that existed across our country that day and how darkened by the ultimate tragic events that unfolded and so inspired us to create. Something called remember sky where we're asking the public to on the morning of nine eleven posted a of their sky no matter where they are no matter. The weather posted to instagram with the hashtag. Never forget nine. Eleven in through that create a shared moment of remembrance and help foster conversation on social and elsewhere that can be this bridge between memory in history in so. We're excited to see that that. Take cold in create that that moment together where we can also acknowledged how we're all connected to each other underneath the same sky. Yeah it's incredible a the the that isn't abiding memory and it's incredible. How often on nine. Eleven to whether it's like that so that's a help everybody guessing but it's it's important not to forget the impacts on the pentagon and the flight ninety three in the i was very struck the even in my hung country. The uk is nine. Eleven was the single west terrorist attack in some of deaths of british citizens more than any other events. It is a. it's not it's it's not just a new york thing is heavily associated with it because of those iconic images. But how do you bring in the rest of the us especially the the specific affected and also the the rest of the globe. Which would ya on your ladder. Observations steve there were victims from over ninety different countries that day. And whether you look at the victims or you look at how we responded in it was not just a local or national abandoned was global that because of how we responded and the consequences And we have always throughout everything we do. been buried privileged to work with the folks at the pentagon and at the flight. Ninety three memorial in shanksville pennsylvania While we each have our own ceremonies on the anniversary They are partners in so much of what we do. So much. the programming that we create And i think you will see you know part of that. Remember the sky. Activation is to create that opportunity for participation by anyone from wherever they are our campaign. Is national You know the the airing of the psa donated media paid media elements of this They will be you know rolling out in have already rolled out to folks across the country. So i think in both the message were hoping to share as well as some of the activation we've created there's opportunity for participation from all over one of the programs. I mentioned earlier the anniversary in the schools program. You know that we have had since we started at a few years. Ago had participation from students in all fifty states and that's inconsistent in one of the things we have added each year and is more artistic events from around the globe. I think last year we had over a dozen countries represented in. And i bet will have more than that this year. We also have in partnership with the american library association downloadable poster exhibition That is available now. That libraries across the country can register for download print in display in their own communities. And you know something that was originally conceived pre cova as a traveler exhibition traveling exhibition. Excuse me that would have had in. Some sentences of more limited footprint has now been accessed by nearly two thousand libraries from across the country So some grain ways. We are trying to take this programming out to.

The housing crisis says saw a need for an alternative for people going through a divorce Than just having credit cards are going to friends and family a lot of times. That wasn't alternative. Had to be something out there so back in two thousand twelve. When i started responding in the us in what exactly is divorced funday because right before we came on. I had said this is kind of a new concept to me. And i i haven't heard of it so i am so curious and so interested as to what it is and how it can really help people through the process of divorce and then it really is. Our biggest hurdle is for people to know that we're out there to help individuals going through a divorce to level the legal playing fields by funding We provide funding for legal fees.

"CEO at bank of America Bloomberg's David Westin starts here by asking one hand for his take on what's happening let's listen in well I think it's clear it's a it's a healthcare crisis there's a virus out there that there we're all in the war and everybody in the world has long gone the common enemy and that's the the win the war against viruses and now that is a human a man to terror in crisis and that there's people that are hit by a second we know it got to make sure they're taking care of it and we got to take care of the rest of society if they don't get it which means how you run your company how you think about how you pull your resources stuff has changed dramatically over the last few weeks of we have a gun in the social distancing all the stops the virus and when the war on that when we when that the economic impact will be mitigated and that's what you could see an economy before it hit us and that's what we expect to see an economy after his so how have you reorder your prayers of bank of America you just said that if you run a company have to reorder your priorities for this particular crisis give us an example of how you're re ordering thank America's priorities well we we took a quick looking ahead in the end today response has became centric in other words protect our team get our team in a position so they can support the customers even if they're working from home and it has the client centric what we do for our customers whether commercial customers a consumer customers and ultimately how do we help society so if you think about the team you know the number one issue was how can you do all the work that we do with this great team working every day across this wonderful platform but do it in a way that's never been contemplated with a hundred fifty thousand teammates went from working in the office to working from home across for five weeks then you know the logistics and that the network connectivity and embedded in that the ability to distribute calls differently that people vote ultimately ability to trade from home but on the other hand we had a forty or forty three hundred branches we have to keep them open so cash could move inside the word essential industry has a label by the federal government that we have to be open and we have to be able to discourage markets open and that takes centralize operations group so we had also reposition our traders in our teammates and branches are teammates in the call centers are committed to the operations groups worked the same time so we had this massive movement of hundreds thousand people home at the same time we had to reposition everybody left to make sure they could operate while so when did you first really sinking the you're going to have to do something as dramatic as had a hundred fifty thousand people work from home and we also use it next the president presents right we went on a visit with them I know you met with some of his staff we did that help drive home she just how large this crisis is and it's not going away well I think as we saw we saw a bit of the set play out in our foreign operations of the state of companies like ourselves of operations in in China and Hong Kong and the impact in those areas were you first and foremost give us a little bit and the police what was gonna happen I'd say to the time back in January and early February was notice without they're not ours but as we went through several ready and we went to some of her doctor about to speak at a conference and then ultimately win the White House in early March the group of bankers expected to talk to present a banking and what we're doing for customers and things like that suddenly the first thing we did for the half the time was to hear from doctor Fauci doctor Burks and they had the CDC talk about the healthcare crisis and that was the night where the president stuff the travel from Europe in the gravity of the situation when you heard of the impact that the administration was going to have the economy which was at that point almost Underhill linear you can just extrapolate what he said on the stop all this movement of people what will happen you really settled in on me and and and we run the company moving people work from home we just said we have to go hard and fast and and and we really quickly move from sort alternate shifts and things like that to complete work in the home and then you know then you start to see the human toll start to build up the cases than that any issues people in hospital deaths which are horrible Brian this is the first and foremost a health care crisis the same time the best way to fight is actually shut the economy down which does real damage the economy at the same time let's talk about that a particular your vantage internet coming through individuals and small businesses well the only back up more broadly so if you think about what we saw in our customer base as we went through January and February we saw with our consumer spending money that much faster rate than the double digit rate versus two thousand nineteen so the condom is probably going to be a grow faster than people projected with quite a bit my guess then if you want the Marchioness other situation even even with the impact that happened in March a special letter of March will fill some will still see a consumer spending in the aggregate margin is the cost three trillion dollars in the year so it's not a small sample be up for March not a lot but two three percent something like that in your day to be up almost all the you know the high high single digits that is faster than last year first of the year before so the economy is on this path it just as you watch March play out has changed dramatically you've been listening to the head of bank of America Brian Moynahan with Bloomberg's David Westin and coming up we'll hear from bank of America's Monaghan on what the bank is doing to help keep people employed plus more on prospects for recovery you're listening to Bloomberg best the following is a message from the law offices of Franken Verity do you have a service animal
