Amber Flynn pled guilty to lying to the FBI way knew that he was having these phone calls it was supposed to be having he got fired after only being in the administration for the 24 days. Something like that. So which is, uh, to Scaramucci is so Flynn is is gone. And then the Miller investigation kicks up and they're like, Oh, well, we got Flynn. I mean, he was lying to us. So then they used him for Basically the kind of leveraged him in order to to bring out more information. And then all of a sudden, the Justice Department said. You know what? Mueller? Let's limit the scope of your of your investigation. You can't follow the breadcrumbs to anything else that might happen, so it just turned into a real You know, just a real mess. You know, Flynn was supposed to be Sentence. The Justice Department said to the judge. We want to drop the charges dropped the charges. He just pled guilty. Yeah, but we don't want to charge him. And she's got J. Lo Beauty, which is going to be launching in the new year. Yeah, she only really dabbled in perfume today, right now, And she had her glow line at her burgers. Laurie Belt. She had hats, snacks. What? I'm talking about makeup, right? Okay. On the Origin of English
"So here is the basic story. The idea is that germanic goes back to some original language. We call it proto germanic. We can't know what it speakers would've called it. There was this original language that became german and english and swedish et cetera and that would have been spoken probably in that little neck of denmark or maybe a little southwards of that in. Let's say about five hundred bc. So that's where proto germanic would have started in the meantime there's a thesis that that language was profoundly impacted by invading or at least imposing people from the near east people from way down where there is today lebanon and syria and israel specifically it would be the phoenicians. The phoenicians were one of many people in that region and they would have spoken a semitic language. I e a language related to what we know today as hebrew and arabic and if we wanna go. Further afield aramaic and cross the red sea. And it's i'm hurric- in ethiopia. But they spoke of semitic language and we know what they spoke because they wrote it down because they actually were the first people who grabbed the alphabet when it was very quietly and scrap invented probably by mercenary soldiers in egypt. The finishes took it and made into something that they use. Basically to write down business related things they want writing epochs. They weren't writing the grapes of wrath. But they were writing and so the phoenicians are the ones who end up spreading the alphabet throughout the world. In any case more to the point the phoenicians were big travelers. they did not like to stay home. The phoenicians started ruling the roost. They were probably in about eleven hundred bc and they didn't just stay there they sailed. They traded they got themselves around what was then considered by people like them the world throughout the mediterranean they keep on going westward and of course once you get out to where there's no more land while you might start going up into like spain and they kind of around the coast they traded. They brought things back. They were great intermediaries now in the middle east. They had their cities like like tire and blows or carthage. That you hear so much about on the north coast of africa that is phoenician or punic territory but they sailed and you know there is evidence that they sailed not only to roughly spain and portugal. Which is what we have absolutely concrete evidence for them doing but as evidence that they kept going and they went all the way up to northern europe and past. What's now germany. And they actually would have gone all the way to that part of denmark. One little piece of evidence is that they got people. Amber got some amber in greece. If you've got some amber and what is today lebanon. While the amber as often as not from up in that baltic northern european region they had a lot of amber amber is pretty. I think amber is preserving bits of dinosaur tales and insects and things like that but also just gorgeous you kind of want to bite it. Big amber trade. Well they always seem to have it. We'll have they get it. Well it would seem that. They had some sort of connection to northern europe. That in itself doesn't mean that they sailed all the way up there and got it because there were ways of trading amber just a cross the european continent but the fact that they had so much amber is one of a great many things. It's like the spokes in a wheel. An argument is about various things that all seem to point in the same direction. What about that amber. But more to the point it's about the language what is wrong with manic. Why is it so odd. Well what is this case that these people came from the near east and sailed all the way up around your understand. What the thesis is. The idea is that speakers of phoenician settled in somewhere in this part of denmark and there was long-term settlement where speakers of this phoenician and speakers of this thing we called proto germanic mixed to the point that many people were basically speaking proto germanic in phoenician to an extent this is what we linguists call language contact theory. The idea being that proto germanic ended up being really stamped by this other way of being a language because there would have been these settlements where venetians ruled the roost and their language seemed to be the cool one and it was the one that people switch to so the proto germanic ended up being profoundly affected it kind of wanted to be cool and became more like venetian. What's the evidence that that happened given that. There is no archaeological evidence. Partly because what would have been the shore back then has since become underwater. So we can't really dig up wear. The settlements probably would have been well. One of the things is words. So as i said so many words in germanic languages don't trace back. They just pop up all of a sudden it's about one in three and that's a conservative estimate. Now some of the experts. Just don't give a damn about that. And they have other things to do. They have bigger fish to fry in that as perfectly understandable. Sometimes you just don't give a damn you know what i don't care about. For example i do not care about outer space. I remember when there was the apollo landing and everybody was so excited and they actually rolled in a little black and white. Tv into my classroom. We were supposed to watch. I didn't care. I'm more interested in what's going on here astrophysics. I respect it. But i do not care about saturn
Shuttle Tire Sensors Warn Drivers of Flat Tires
"Attire sensor is a small programmable electronic device that constantly measures the air in your tire. The sensor transmits information via low frequency radio waves to the vehicles on board computer. If the tire needs air an amber warning light is illuminated on the dash during the space shuttle era. Proper tire pressure was crucial from orbit to landing. The nitrogen filled tires weathered extreme temperature changes due to very heavy loads tires had to be inflated to three hundred forty pounds per square inch but in the early days of the program. There just wasn't a good way to gauge pressure. Flight accurately so nasa contracted with a company to build a tire pressure sensor specifically for the space shuttle after the company successfully delivered the device to nasa. They adapted the sensor for use on cars today. Us law requires a pressure gauge on every car tire. Alerting drivers whenever the pressure is off

Sinkhole Swallows Up Van In South Los Angeles
"In South Los Angeles today, a sinkhole swallows a van that was parked on the street. Ah, a neighbor's security camera captured the sound of the ground, opening up and swallowing Amber Anderson's van, but she says she slept through it on Ly waking up when her dog started barking, came out my front door and realized wow. My van behind me is inside of a whole, D w. P says an eight inch cast iron water main burst this morning, weakening the ground and causing the same cold. Open up just before six. Water had to be shut off for about 20 homes on the block. E W P isn't sure how long repairs will take. Getting the van out was their first priority by Bach can keep the van. I want to keep it. He and Anderson want answers. They don't know if pipes or just aging or if work on the new metro line nearby has made the ground less stable. They say This isn't the first problem in the neighborhood. Three houses down way had like a smaller stink hole where a water line broke again and it made a hole into the ground. Gap. The ground a little bit. This is a much bigger hole, and even when it's patched up, Anderson says she won't trust parking here again. CBS
Inside the Vote: Atlanta's Election Process
"Have had a unique view of how things have been going in the state of Georgia, our miles. O'Brien continues to explore how the vote is being counted there. On the day after in Atlanta, Fulton County election workers were hard at work scanning and counting the last of the mail in ballots. They began the day with 45,000 left to go. They are among 200,000 untallied mail in ballots statewide. Secretary of State Brad Reference Burger is vowing to have the lion's share of it done by day's end. We're pushing really hard for that. If we can get that if we don't get it there, But we get the number so small that then there's no question of who, actually the winners. I think that would be helpful, really remove a lot of those questions that people might have George's election might garner the most improved award. Primary in June was a disaster. They rolled out a complex new voting system in the midst of the pandemic. It led to a meltdown and that was not the end of the trouble. In October, more than two dozen Fulton County election staffers contracted Cove it early voting was disrupted by Hurricane Zeta power outages and on election Eve. A moving company assigned to deliver voting machines backed out so early on Election day, Fulton County's election director Rick Baron came to work in the emergency operations Center, dreading a replay and at about 6 A.m.. He got word a pipe burst in the room where the mail in ballots are scanned. They were trying to assess whether any equipment was damaged, whether any ballots were damaged. They didn't find any damaged on any ballots, and I think they're going to be able to get the equipment running up and running. Now it led to a four hour delay. But once the in person voting began, their stars became uncrossed. Voters breeze through voting sites with barely a line in sight. Once we got past that whole opening about 30 to 40 minutes way, realized that all of our polls were open. I felt like the day was gonna go smooth way looked at June and we looked at everything that happened in June. The thing that I've said is that You can't be too timid to ask for help. As the focus turns to outstanding mail in votes here and elsewhere. Georgia has another bit of luck on its side. The state change the law to allow mail in ballot processing weeks in advance of November, 3rd. Unlike Wisconsin, Michigan get in Pennsylvania legally constrained toe wait until virtually the last minute. So now we are all on tenterhooks. Despite repeated warnings from election systems experts like Amber McReynolds of the National voted Home Institute. So in a census was a slow motion train wreck that you saw coming. Yeah, I mean, we we flagged this. We flagged this policy issue, And frankly, it's the fact that these three state legislative bodies refused to respond to the needs of election officials because it was election officials of all sides all party stripes that we're asking for this very technical change that would feed up the election results process. Election security experts say This is a particularly dangerous time. Potential adversaries can now home their attacks on the Tegra T of the voting system. University of Michigan Computer science professor Alex Halderman says this underscores the need for states to audit their results. We now have a target painted on the back of certain particular states that are going to be close and Miss Tripp in those states could take the form off, attacking the integrity off the paper ballots could take the form of attacking the computers that are going to be used to count them. What we need to do is wait for states to perform the necessary checks any post election audits and recounts and make sure that those checks are done accurately enough that we can all have confidence in the results. In the meantime, Professor Hartman will be watching closely to see if any hackers attempt to get in the middle of this process and cause mischief. So far, the federal agency which is assigned to track all of this, since there's no evidence of any threats, domestic or foreign to the process that have affected any votes. Meanwhile, behind me live pictures here at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta as Fulton County election workers get through A pile of about 38,000 ballots and counting. They say they will be counting here tonight until they finish statewide. They're promising. It will all be done by tomorrow. But in other places the weight could take longer. They may take more time that we have patients, Judy So, Brian in Atlanta, where you been now for several days, and this is the kind of reporting that is so important at a moment like this miles. Thank you very much
"amber" Discussed on Mom Inspired Show with Amber Sandberg
"So it's like who is coming up with these ideas and then the other people are like wait cannot even for this and how do you budget all these extra gifts? And how many kids do you have faith in supplying that by all the teachers and it kind of gets a little bit insane because you're like, I don't know but then you don't want to be that parent who seems like you're not appreciative and like oh, you know, I don't want to give you anything because you know, I don't care but that's not even the case and so it made me think about it when you were saying You know that we we might just have more more money these days and so it looks different, you know, and so but then at the same time it can cause more stress and I think that even the gift-buying especially to like teachers and stuff like that and all the teachers out there. I love you. So don't think that I don't but it is interesting. Like when did that turn? And when did that change I've experienced the Sky loan nine. I've experienced it since she was born. So it's been going on for at least nine years. And so I don't know where it changed from us growing up to our children. I have I don't know. So but even that can just get a little bit like stressful because you're like, you know, some moms will make things look so amazing and so elaborate and it will be so cute and how long they did and remove these. Well, they can't give cookies now like if you made them cuz of covid-19 decorated q and they did all these cutesy things and you're just kind of like and here's my gift card off. You know, you know what the teacher probably appreciates the gift card. She probably does. Yes. Yeah a lot exactly different gifts. You know, we have to remember that so was were talking about going to remember other people have talents of making cute looking cookies. If I try to make a cook a cute looking cookie. No one would want to touch it like yeah just wouldn't happen. You know, it looks scary exact so long that there are other things that I can do to contribute to show my appreciation that that does better suit with the talents that I have and I think that that's important too is that we think about when we're going back to holidays and we're playing in for all these things to really think about what we actually can do what we actually enjoy doing just because we we think that like, oh, this is what we should do because everyone else is doing it or it's what we've always done. If you don't really enjoy it give yourself permission to say I'm just not doing that right? I agree. Yeah, so that is a really good point and off. I'm keeping the show shorter because I know it's we start going to the holidays that the moms are going to have less time to listen. So I kind of want to end on this journey. I know let's going back to the planning. I just think about like the systems in our lives, right? So, how about you share with us? Like what you think in regards to your life rocks what you believe in the balance in regards to systems and planning and see what that looks like cuz I think you talked about that in your sanity course. I think you have like three main points. Is that correct? Yep. So when we think about balancing really it's important to remember like we're all busy we all have a ton of stuff going on and balance is going to look different for everybody. So how balance looks in my life is going to be very different than what it looks like in Amber's life or or anyone else's life. But when we think about in order to have balance possible, there are three components that I believe are necessary for just about everybody else..

U.S. sees record early turnout with record 62 million votes cast
"Floridians, 18 to 39 has increased 44% since 2016, Georgia. Nearly three million people have already voted nearly 700,000. Those people didn't vote at all. In 2016. The trends across the country are pretty insane. We're tracking like for high voter turnout. So what does this all mean for the file results Amber McReynolds, CEO of the votes at home institutes before that served as chair of elections for the city of Denver. Colorado. So, Amber, we've got these numbers coming in. Is it too early to say what they mean? I guess there's not going to stop us from trying and either side is trying to figure this out. Yeah, well, I think the numbers are incredible. I mean, this is the definitely the highest interest election that we have on record for a long period of time. And you know, 2016 was the highest had the highest interest for an election. And this this election cycles blowing that out of the water, So I think it means two things. I think first whenever we see More use of vote by mail turnout increases, So we're going to see higher turnout across the board, frankly, because vote by mail is being used more this year, and it's also more available in more states. The second thing is, I think people have made their decisions earlier than what we normally see. And so people are are taking advantage of early voting, and they're also turning their ballots in sooner. So right now, I think as of today, it's 63 million As of right now, literally about 63 Million voters have cast ballots more than 40. Million of those are Mail ballots cast. There was close to 100 million ballots requested. So by the end of this week, I mean it. It's it's highly likely we will be well over 100 million ballots cast by the end of the week, and with so many

Thank you so much for having me Amber, sir, Thank you. To be honest today. It's a real honor to have you on because I'm going to let you explain the type of education that you provide. Well, thank you so much. Aside from being a cosmetology instructor where I work for a global company name Chi and I teach hair make I mean hair techniques and color techniques and Beauty School for students as well as for teachers and salon owners. I also teach non Visual and adaptive techniques for individuals who are blind wage. Julion pearre disabled on you know, makeup techniques grooming hygiene how to do their own Nails how to do their own hair so that they can prepare for job interviews and even more so more importantly it's about being independent self confident and always looking your best whether or not you can or cannot see yourself in the mirror. I have to say you be honest with everybody listening right now when I you know, a lot of the times I'll receive story pitches and ideas some of them come from you at home. And when this month when your name came across my desk, I was intrigued because admittedly, you know, I thought I don't know that many people who are visually impaired and you know, when I started this podcast, I really wanted this to be a place where people could come and get education and be empowered and and also be dead, Lightened about things that we might not know about whether it was products or procedures or or people in general and you know through talking to a learned that October which I feel like I'm not many people know his breast cancer breast cancer awareness month is is also visually impaired Awareness Month. Correct? Yes. It is the month where there is white cane safety day, which is nationally recognized day and it's about you know, recognizing individuals who are blind and visually impaired and really addressing their independence with by using the white cane which as you know is what they use to help with orientation and mobility and all the Independence that maybe a lot of people may not perceive that they have right so but yeah, it's a very empowering Day, I am so honored that you are here. I think that for again people listening. This is going to be inspiring and emotional when we started talking in our in our pre-owned chat. You've got some some such brilliant tips that whether you are visually impaired or fully sighted. I think that you are going to find incredibly useful and and I hope this podcast particularly gives you a little bit of inspiration and you know, and and that you leave it feeling a grateful for those of you who don't have to deal with visual impairment of how lucky we are. So I think you get into this field. How did you get into this specialty? It you know what I have to say. It was purely by accident. I really was very much like you and very much like most people in the world who may or may not most people haven't met a blind person in their lifetime. And so I was very unaware of the need even that this even existed that there were blind women who wanted to learn how to do their makeup nor did I even have the idea that that that was something that you know was a concern and so several years ago back in 2011. I started volunteering reading for the blind games on a radio show called sight into sound radio and I was volunteering, you know, just to read books read, you know magazines to to the song mind and then over that course a couple of months later. I went to an event that we were, you know, hosting or not hosting but there and I met a blind young lady. Here in Houston. She's also known as the MasterChef winner for 2012. Her name is Christine Hall. If you pull her up on the internet, you'll find all information about her. She is a blind woman here in Houston who won MasterChef 2012. Wow, and you know, she's like a celebrity in the blind community and I walked up to her cuz I was there on site into sounds behalf. And I said, hey, you know, I'm a hairstylist and a makeup artist. So if you ever need anything, I'll be more than happy to help you and just so you know get you ready for the cameras and get you ready on set and she said, you know Chelsea, there's so many makeup artist and and people like that that are usually on said that can do that for me home. But to be honest since I lost my vision I haven't been able to do my makeup for myself anymore. And I said, oh really and she said, yeah and I said, well she's like, so do you think you can teach How to put on my own makeup and I said, why don't know I've never taught a blind person to put on their own makeup before, you know, I teach you know, young ladies and their mom and later, you know women that come in at my school and all the time who have Vision, but I said, you know what? I don't know but let me give it a try and so so we set up an appointment in her kitchen. I came to house several times and cookies something good. Not yet. Okay. All right. All right. We got to get in there. She did open up a restaurant here in Houston called The Blind goat, so just woke up there, but she has her own restaurant and she she does cook but at that time, you know, we sat down in her kitchen and she she taught me what it is that a blind person needs. Like how to teach her I didn't even know how to teach her. So she was like, okay. Well, can you describe that a little bit better? Can you like what you know and then hear what does that bottle feel? Like, what does that feel? And so here I am in our kitchen learning how to teach a blind person with audio description. I didn't even know what the word meant at the time then it was how to give verbal instructions on how to describe color how to map your face with your fingers and feel like orientate or your body. Like where are my eyebrows where you know are my thoughts eyelids and things like that and then like using your hands as guides and using voice as you know instruction and so it was like and then learning how to identify the differences between this bottle versus that

Texas officer charged with murder after shooting a 31-year-old Black man in Wolfe City, northeast of Dallas
"Jonathan Pryce, an African American shot by a white police officer. There has been lots of questions about It's over the last couple of days. Jim Ryan of ABC Radio News is watching the story for us, Jim Thanks very much for joining us. Tell us what happened. You know, we would. Saturday evening and again, you're gonna have to rely on what they said or what they had. It's like so many cases like this. A man named Jonathan Pryce, who lived in Wolf City, Texas, was well known, well liked around the community there. 31 year old, he said. You are his family said that he was near a convenience store. He saw this disturbance going on between a man and woman. He stepped in, tried to break it up. That's when the police showed up. A police officer named Shawn Lucas 22, year old police officer fairly new on the police department. There saw what was happening and tried to take Jonathan Pryce into custody. I didn't know what his role was in the whole thing. Price resisted that and was shot and killed. Now Lucas has hired the same attorney who represented Amber Geiger. Don't know if you remember that case, Dallas who was convicted out of shooting and killing a man in his own apartment that he now that all the sarees is now, our that lawyers now representing Shawn Lucas. He says that price was trying to take looses. Lucas is Taser away from him and that that's when he was shot and killed so they will see where this goes. The officer is on leave right now he's being held on a billion dollars bond until this whole thing is tired out. It is going to a grand jury. The Texas Rangers, the investigative agency, says that this appears to be non justifiable police shooting. Any videotape him. No. Well there there probably is the outside the convenience store. There were security cameras set up now whether they were turned on whether they have provided video. The police have not said. But if there is video, it's in the hands of investigators now will not be made public at least not yet. Maybe not even until there's a trial. So what happens next? Where are we in terms of? Well, what happens next? I guess that's the question. Well, it'll go to the grand jury. The grand jury will either indict Officer Lucas or declined to indict him. No bill him and he'll be turned loose that from there, then we'll be looking at a trial if he's true building on murder charges. There was a vigil held last night in Wolf City for Jonathan Pryce. Now we'll see where it does go in and find out more about what the Texas Rangers role in this. And what's the attorney for police officers. Jim Ryan from ABC
Interview with Jeremy Stoppelman of Yelp
"This industry has just been absolutely hammered unlike any other industry travel leisure as well. So many people go to yelp for restaurants. So did you anticipate that pretty quickly early on that restaurants we're going to get hit or did that come as a surprise to you? We had some sense that restaurants are gonNA, get hit. What of our? More Cedar product managers of Chinese person who had lots of contacts in China and was relying like all the changes that restaurants were going through in. China to try and adapt at the outset of the pandemic like this is crazy. They're doing all these things with temperature checks at the door like delivered new delivery things partitions, and it just seemed so unlikely that that could be our reality especially at that time call it early March, we were studying this and everything still felt normal but it was you know pretty soon we could start seeing impacts in some of the cities that were hardest hit in the. US. So for example, Seattle and You. Know that obviously got US thinking about business ramifications and okay restaurants, which is a big portion of our traffic are going to be hard hit. You know what can we do? We weren't going to charge restaurants for instance, for that period where traffic was following and even if they were getting some value, you know the everyone is thrown into total chaos and like there really isn't a whole lot of point to advertising. Traffic is falling like that. So so pulling together, a bunch of different things to support the restaurant nightlife industry at a time, became a big priority and ultimately culminated with about thirty two million dollars, worth of forgiven fees and young. To Support Restaurants Jeremy Your Business Model depends largely on advertising on businesses that advertise on the platform and businesses that depend on ads have had a difficult time because companies are cutting back on their ad spence. For obvious reasons, they've got to preserve cash in many cases. And this has actually pretty dramatically affected your business yelps business right I mean over the over the past year that was one of the scariest things a particularly about march in April you know in a pandemic especially as things are shutting down. WHO's buying advertise wait? So that was my great fear was you know is our revenue going to go toward zero like maybe it's not zero, but is it going to go towards zero pretty darn quickly. We had some very stressful difficult conversations around my the different potentially catastrophic scenarios. What would we do? How do we survive you know? Is there a freeze? The company amber type strategy literally was something we were talking about like where we just go down to the skeleton of staff fits a nuclear winter type of situation. Fortunately, the world did start to re stabilize and as the panic subsided, there were businesses that actually were doing even finer good You know like as all of us were sheltered at home. Suddenly if your toilet backed up, you're calling the plot a plot. Being more busier and some people started moving later in the pandemic mover traffic was doing reasonably well and so there ended up being areas of our business because we are diversified we're no obviously widely for restaurants, but we also have. Reviews and customers in all sorts of local services categories as well. Area of the business has been quite resilient contractors and and and so on. Interesting I remember when you on the podcast you talked about to crisis moments I remember was when you were x dot com and you were just Totally, terrified that I think that pay pal was gonna like crush you guys and you'd sleepless nights about that and then the other one was when you started yelp and nobody came to the party like it was really just didn't gain any traction in the in the months many months and you will really worried you had a lot of anxiety about and you talked about that and this sounds like even more intense what you went through in March and April. Just probably personally, I? mean. Planning for a nuclear winter. But in in some senses like I wonder whether anticipating that possibility actually was in a sense probably the best way to game out what your strategy would be. Because in the end, it didn't work out that way but it but you were planning for the worst. Yeah. One of the things that I would say was beneficial of going to that awful place in our minds with I'd say at the early part of the pandemic, it's hard for people to really wrap their heads around the scope of the problem how big the problem is how it's going to change our lives it just seems. Unbelievable. and. so by forcing other executives managers, etc start thinking about this, this could be the big one just so to speak. You know it gets you into a brain's base that did shift everyone's thinking to. The A big problem. We have to take this extremely seriously, and there's going to be big changes and moves that none of us are going to like we have to do to ensure the survival

She's the director of nursing for two hospitals and saw this coming for quite a while and they had been putting measures in place. And so you know I was talking to a girlfriend of mine. Who's a practitioner? And I said I I have a friend that I that I really WANNA reach out to. And she said sit on the driveway. And there's this beautiful and just put your six feet apart. Don't completely separate yourself from people you have to do your due diligence and and put in motion the guidelines that we've been given you we still have to be there for one another. Yeah Yeah I was thinking about. I have a friend that has a birthday this month and just be sitting in my car in her on her porch. I mean like as way more than six feet so you know just things like that you know is just that trying to figure it out because yeah we can go through this a couple of weeks but like I I mean. How long can we do this without? Actually seeing other people and I mean I get it. We face sandwich. Thank goodness for that. I mean I cannot imagine if we did not have the technology that we do Jay. I mean we would already lost our marbles but It's it is amazing that we have that but you know hearing people's voices and then but then also just seeing them you know I it really. I think that's the thing that's GonNa make you think twice when we come out of this and that's a question I wanna ask you I have two questions before we end. And if you have anything else you want to add feel free but I wanted to ask you. I know that you are really good about building a community anyways and staying on top of that that is a strength of yours which I always appreciate but you know when you go back to normal life though. What are some changes that you think you're going to implement that you have seen through this timeframe That's a really good question. Amber I think for me the I'm going I there's always something more that I can do to be honest I think reaching out.

"You guys I'm super excited to have Stephanie here to do the four part series where we are going to be talking about simplifying your life so today we are going to be talking all about paper. I know as Moms we get inundated with all this paper that comes in the House and sometimes never leaves and so I just thought it'd be great for her to come on the show and just have her walk through what she does with her clients in regards to papers as well as what she does in her own house. So if you guys know a moms that are really struggling with just kind of simplifying. Their life make sure to share this episode with them and let them know that. This is a four part series We're going to be talking about papers today but next week. We're going to be talking about kids stuff and then day to day systems and then end on storage so I hope you guys really enjoyed the series you guys so before we jump into the show I was thinking it would be really fun to do a new segment so I thought you know what. Let's do my favorite things. I'd like to change things up from time to time. You know just do things that are different and because not. Everyone listens to every episode. Just hang in there with me because I probably will explain this over the next month or so that I'm going to be doing this. And so if this is something that you like and you're just wondering what product I might use or you know whatever and you WanNa ask me and you want me to talk about on the podcast. Totally mainly at amber mom inspired show dot com. Or if you follow me on Instagram at Amber Sandberg. You can message me or if you follow me at facebook you follow the mom inspired living page. You can message me there and I will answer your question on the podcast so I always like when people talk about their favorite things from bloggers. I don't watch a ton of Youtube but I know like when people are trying to figure out beauty products or makeup or whatever people to talk about their favorite things people on instagram. Talk about the things that they're liking so I wanna just talk about a wide range of things from maybe the books. I'm reading programs that I really like from you. Know beauty products health products. That kind of stuff I don't know if I'm going to talk about clothing that much. Because if people are listening a year from now they're not going to be able to go to target and address and I'm referring to so any hill That's where it does help you know to do things visually instagram. Because then you can link it up and then you can go find that product. So I just wanted to tell you that I am going to try my best to correlate the two meaning the products that I'm talking about to the interview that I'm doing and so today because we're starting the simplifying series and we're talking about paper something that came up while I was talking to Stephanie. Is Stephanie are totally different? Like Stephanie is more ruthless. And she's listening to this show will be cracking up but she is more ruthless with getting rid of things and I'm not but if you compared to todd my husband I'm probably more ruthless than he is and so it got me thinking about when I did the interviews with Beth mcchord. She is the Ingraham coach. And if you don't often your grandma is that I highly recommend listening to our episodes. You just type in. Mama's fired show And then type in bath mcchord or instagram. And you can pull that up but for those of you that know in your Graham. It's really just another personality test which I think is really. It's it's really. I feel more in depth and I feel like people resonate with it better than other personality tests so anyways the program that I wanted to talk about one of my favorites is Beth. Mccord's program that she has for the Graham and The one that you would start with is discovering you and if you subscribe to my email then all of this will be in the show notes in the email that you have in your inbox that is one of the perks of subscribing to my email. Hey you guys. I have something pretty exciting that I wanNA share with you so in October I hit fifty pounds down. That's right fifty pounds down and ten months and if you've been listening to this show for the past few months I've been talking about my weight loss journey at the beginning of every show. But if you guys WanNa hear more of the details make sure to tune in December. Because I'm really GONNA go into detail. What really worked for me? What products they use an what? How I started this journey to begin with so if you WANNA I know that make sure you go to episode one hundred twelve with Amanda Neighbor? "Can go brush your teeth and and do all that other stuff in the other room with a toilet in the single or if you have a teenager and they take forever and they have to put your makeup on they can be in one room then somebody else can be other. It's so perfect and it's so great for families so I just wanted to mention that also. They have dark curtains that they can pull so all of you guys that are worried about like is it going to be so bride or I have kids that need to sleep and they have to sleep with dark curtains or blackout drapes or naps. This is great it makes it so dark and that my kids took naps so well and they were so tired from just doing so much stuff that they were conked out and I mean it's like pitch black in there which is which is so great for some people that really need that. So I I I love that so that was one of the great things about the rooms. One other thing too that I wanted to talk about is the island. If you are interested in going in a Disney cruise line they you have something. They have a private island called castaway Cay. And it's their own private island so if you're traveling in the Caribbean you're we're going to stop there and it has amazing food that is included in your package because it's their private island so you don't have to pay for any food You also get soft drinks. So you don't find that on their cruise ships like You know coke and all that kind of stuff is separate while it's included in Disney sneakers. I which can be dangerous if you're trying to not drink a lot of coke or whatever But the only thing you have to pay for is alcohol of course so One amazing thing that I love about castle also key is you can snorkel and you can find hidden Mickey's in the water. And they just do such an amazing job of making the islands so much fun and there's an adult section only that you can go and you know layout and just kind of be by herself and be quiet If you just need to get away from everything and then there's also like bike rental so that you can ride around the island and just explore and you just feel safe because it's their private island so the staff and you guys Komo everybody on the ship are the only people on the island and what's also cool to is. They have created like these barriers so that the water can't like come in easy so it Kinda makes it like a lagoon so when you have small kids though it's not like ways or just like rushing up and knocking the over so there's so much sand for the kids to just plan I. Mike has played with sand and making sand castles and just playing in the shallow water for hours. I mean that's so much fun. And then they have this hugely jungle gym type thing For the bigger his like jump into the water. We didn't even get to experience that I mean. Sometimes I feel like you probably need two days on his private island because it's just so amazing there's so many great things just to do on this private island so that is one of the other things people say. Is it worth it and I would say being able to go on. His private island is one one of the reasons why it makes it so worth it and so I think we're getting close to the end. I'm just trying to think. What else would you guys might want to know that I can finish up on okay? So if you're not familiar with cruising there is different styles of dining. There's some ships have like free style dining But Disney what they have is set dining. So it's either first or second and the first half forty five PM and the second is at eight so well how why they do this because you no five forty five can feel early for some and then a can feel really late but what they do is they have two shows each night and so how it works the first dining so when they're eating the second dining group is watching a show and then it's flipped so for us we pick to the five forty five because we had younger kids and I'm just like they need not eat or they're going to melt down so what we did is we went to dinner at five forty five and then we would go to a really fun show that is totally kid-friendly. That is the other thing when you go going other cruise lines. The shows aren't always necessarily kid-friendly. So you can know going into these shows that you can watch it and not have to worry that something's going to be inner owner inappropriate and I just love that so That's one thing that you have to think about too like so if you have older kids I would definitely recommend the APM show I mean apm dining and then you would see the show first and then they also do other fun. Things like pirate night which is so great and they shoot off fireworks. I mean it is so much fun. There is so many fun things that I I mean I could just keep going on and on about this In this episode could end up being two hours long. So I'm just trying to work through this. And then with the with the restaurants there are three restaurants that are included and you get to rotate through all of them so you don't just get stuck in one of the restaurants and what is even better. Is that your waitstaff waitstaff that you start off with they rotate with you. So they are in so whatever restaurant you're in there in there with you so The first one is is the royal palace and this feels very royal like Cinderella. Then there's animators plate and this is so kid-friendly which I mean all of them are kid friendly of course but it's it's just so fun it's just like there's art pallets on the wall and then crushed from Nemo is like talking to you on the wall and it's just a lot of fun and then the other one is enchanted chanted garden and this would just feel so dreamy I don't know it's just like there's Ivy everywhere and you feel you feel like you're in a garden and what's really cool about having the same servers move with you as they learn what you like so for example if you drink coke okay they eventually will be like have that coke ready for you and say your wife or whatever. Your husband doesn't eat gluten gluten free bread you'll notice there'll be a basket of gluten free rolls along with the gluten roles and then my kids. They weren't really wanting to eat the salad. Buffet loved the cucumbers so after the first time they they realized that Migros always wanted cucumbers. So we would sit down and we would find that there'd be sliced cucumbers with ranch dressing and waiting for the girls. I mean it was just amazing. And that's what I mean. This is where it's like their customer service. It just shines. I mean it's just it's so amazing so and also to like talking about what the gluten free stuff like. If view have allergies of your kids have allergies. They are on top of this. I mean they will make you feel so comfortable like you won't feel like you're being high maintenance I and they will make sure that you are taking care of and so to the point that you can preorder your meals and pick them up the next day for breakfast or lunch which at the buffet. So that you're all set and not having to worry. Like oh where they're nuts touching our their eggs touching that like you're totally taking care of and you never feel feel like you're being high maintenance and just making things hard for people. They are totally all about helping people be so happy with with their vacation. I mean that's what you're going there. You're going on vacation to be able to relax especially as parents with kids with allergies. You don't WanNa be stressed so you will feel so good about your your experience okay. And then the other thing is that there are two options for adult only dining. So if you have grandparents that are coming with you or you want to put the kids in the club You can go to Palo or romy and this is an extra charge. I think it's around thirty dollars per person so the food is included in. What you're paying for is just the atmosphere and the experience and you have to pay for alcohol? So it's more like a quiet Darker setting that feels more like date night and you know there's wine impairing and all that kind of stuff so if you're looking for a little something more than what you've already have gotten. This is a great opportunity for you to have some quality time with your spouse vows or if you've gone with some friends and you guys just want to go and have a great dinner together. This is definitely an option so I also wanted to talk about seasickness. One thing that you can do I get seasick. I can I can get sea sickness and I didn't this time but I wore the see bands and sometimes people well Where patches but I always recommend you have like kids dramamine drama on and and then regular dramamine and then I did bit bring see bands for for the kids and todd just in case But they didn't need to use it. I feel like I wore just to be on the safe side. I've gotten sick on a trip before are and then But the majority of the time I have not gotten sick. And that's where the Verandah comes in handy. Let me tell you if you can get outside and look to the horizon. That is totally going to help you. And my thing is is. If you can't afford the Verandah at least get a window in your room. I don't get it inside having get an outside cabins so that you have a window so you can at least look outside. That is my biggest recommendation if you cannot afford a Veranda so there's just some other things too and then I'm I'm going to be done and then we can talk about this person if you want to find out more One of the other things that I loved about Disney cruise is they have these phones called wave phones and they only work on the ship but what they can do is you can if you had older kids you could give them one of the way phones and they contact you this way but if you have little kids and they're in the kids hits club this is how they're going to get a hold of you if your kids WanNa leave or if they wanna go eat or if they or if they just need something and so you're never like well. How are they going to get a hold of me? Like what am I gonNa Anna. Ju this is where that comes in handy in it so perfect so I just WanNa say you guys. If you're considering it I would highly recommend it and I will help you figure out. When is the best time to go? for your price point and we can figure something out. I don't think you will ever regret going on a Disney cruise line. So you guys. We are almost at the end ended the show and I wanted to let you know that I have a Freebie for you guys so what it is is packing less. It's ten packing must have for. Oh you're Disney cruise that you.

"You guys so I'm super excited. I'm going to do a replay of an episode. I did maybe maybe a year ago about Disney cruises so I am having more and more people realize that I'm a travel agent. I don't talk about in depth on every show and so I figured did you know what let's just play a travel episode again. I know I just at Cobb. Oh two weeks ago But I just want to explain really quick the kind of vacations that I do plan a lot of people come up to me and asked me do I. Do you know all inclusive and Hawaii and all that stuff and the answer is is yes so I do all inclusive. That is anything in the Caribbean. But I be. Here's something that you guys should know when you come to me. Asking for an all inclusive have ninety percent of all inclusive is actually in Mexico and so You just have to know that in the back of your head that if you're wanting a an amazing all inclusive you're probably GONNA and have to go to Mexico but besides that point book not all inclusive. That's why I wanted to do the Kabo episode. But I do the Caribbean I do Mexico. I actually just booked recently. Bentley a multi generational trip to Hawaii I'm super excited for this family to go next summer. Celebrate the grandparents anniversary. I'm doing a daughter. As a mother daughter. Spring trip Group trip and so to Mexico and I do couples trips. I do family trips you name it. I do it and I can help you go to Ireland. I can help you go to Australia. I can help you go to Alaska. I help you with cruises. And that's why I wanted to do the Disney cruise because I truly love Disney cruises and For those of you that Love Disney but maybe WanNa break or some of you are just like you know what Disney parks are just too overwhelming coming for me. The Disney cruise is such a perfect option. And so I feel like the quality is so good to And I will say that Royal Caribbean when is my next best for cruise lines. So if you're kind of like I don't WanNa Disney. I can totally help you with Royal Caribbean Cruise But I wanted to replay this just for those of you. That have been maybe thinking about it. It would be a great family multi generational family trip to go on a Disney cruise. Or just go with your immediate family. I just wanted to replay it for you guys and just let you know that if you work with me it costs nothing to you I get paid by the vendor so some of you may not know no that and so I just WanNa make that clear so just reach out to me You can find me on my website. You can message me if you subscribe to my email list. You can just email me Back when you get my weekly emails with the podcast and all the show notes and all that stuff you can message me on facebook or Instagram Environment Amber Sandberg where where if you follow me. A mom inspired living so just reach out to me and I would love to help you plan your next vacation. The main thing that I don't do is I don't just book airtickets The airlines do not play pay travel agents. So there's no benefit that we can provide for you on that so some people have reached out to me for that and so it's probably Louis a good place for me to clarify that but if it's in a package deal then I have my wholesaler group. It altogether so then it works that way but I just don't do them separate are like that's the only thing that book so anyway. I hope you guys get inspired. And I hope you WanNa Disney cruise and make sure you come back to me if you you decide to do it or if you wanna go on any other kind of vacation I would love to help you so enjoy the show all right. So we're going to jump into this. The reason why I wanted to do a Disney cruise episodes because I feel like Disney cruise line is amazing and I went last year and I felt like I got a lot of people saying like oh my gosh. That's on my bucket list. I can't wait to do it. And they would ask me like how was it. Was it worth it and so I just wanted to do an episode where he kind of talk about this stuff you know. Especially Ashley is a travel agent and I can help you with this and come alongside of you but I wanted to give you a little bit of information so you could figure out if this is the right choice for you I put Out On facebook and instagram. Not that long ago asking a question about Disney cruise lines. So this is what I said. Have you ever thought about going on a Disney cruise. I'm getting ready to do a podcast on the topic for those that have never been. What are some of the questions that you have? Or what is holding you back from booking one so here are some of the questions you guys had. I would be interested to hear. About how small and claustrophobic the rooms are. And how good slash safe are the kids clubs. Also how crowded are the pools. Another person said I would like to know the benefits to doing a cruise versus a Disney resort for a Disney experience also a cruise versus Disney cruise line so a different cruise line versus this is Disney cruise line and then also people would say. I don't know about the price you know. Is it too expensive. Can we afford this as at worth that and then the last question question I had was what age do you think kids are too old to get the most out of this and I love all these questions. So I'm GonNa Kinda to just go through these and then I'm going to go through my experience last year so I went in two thousand seventeen with my kids. Were three and six just to give you a gauge of of my references. Okay so going back to the first question. Would it be interested in. Knowing how small and Costra phobic the rooms are so if you've never been on a cruise this is going to be hard because if you never been on a cruise you don't realize that the cruise rooms there's they're called sweets are a smaller then hotel rooms right there on a ship so they gotta keep things tight so it's going to. It's going to feel small. But in comparison to other cruise lines. I would say they're pretty equal. Generally what you see is used to get bad a pretty good sized bed okay queen or king sized bed and then you have a couch and then you have a bad that comes out from the ceiling which let me tell you that was my girls. Highlight it one of the highlights of the trip. Which is hilarious on my okay? We can probably try to figure this out somewhere else not pay for Disney cruise line ships so It comes out of the ceiling so it's like a bunk bed feeling so it's like the bad turns into. I mean the couch turns into a bed and then another bag comes from the ceiling and then you have a ladder. So that's really awesome. Awesome now if you have a family of five. Then you're gonna want an adjoining room because that way you have a double space. There are suites so there are suites. If you just want bigger space like just more living space but if you're looking for more beds it's you would probably want to do the adjoining room and so that way you have two doors that open up into each each of the rooms right so then you can kinda keep them propped open open so he can just go between the two. So that in itself helps with being claustrophobic like just having to living spaces that you can kind of walk between and so that that is really great and if you have a family of five that is what you need to do and so if you have a family of four then you can decide if you really need to have a sweet or four if you need to have two rooms spread it out but in my opinion you're not really in the rooms that much. What I would actually recommend is to get a verandah which is a balcony That gives you the feeling of not being so claustrophobic. It has a whole wall of being a window and so that way. You don't feel like you're stuck in a cave or something like that right so that is my recommendation. If you feel a little bit like you're going to be Costra phobic then you definitely need to get verandas and then that way you can step out onto the veranda breathing. Some fresh air not feel stuck. And I love the Verandah anyways because as you can just sit down and drink coffee or you can have a glass of wine. It's just really great and so And the thing is to some people might be like. Oh my gosh. But what about the railing and the kids will. The railing is high up. I mean and you're not GonNa ever let your kids out there without knowing and you just lock the door you know so So that is is my suggestion for people if they kind of are worried about that. But if you're really worried about the in general then you kind of need to think about cruises altogether because you're going to run into that everywhere you go right like the railings. I have never felt unsafe with the girls. So that gives you an idea but you are the only one who knows your children so but I just wanted to paint that picture. That I've never felt worried about that. Okay so that's kind of the claustrophobic situation and the size of the rooms. The next x one is how good safe are the kids club. I'm going to go into this in a minute because I'm going to go into more depth so let's have about. How crowded are the pools so with any cruise line? The pools are not humongous. Because they don't want all this body of water in the ship right like if it just be splashing around so so you're not going to be finding like a humongous resort pool. There's only so much space and so you have to know that that is going to be busy. Especially when it's days at sea see The Disney dream. And that's where that's the ship. I went on for four nights in the Bahamas cruise. I should have said at the beginning. I don't know why didn't so it's a a four night Bahamas cruise going out of Port Canaveral. And so it has the aqueduct so as a cool waterslide then has a smaller slide for just kids ads and My oldest Skyla. She loved the the smaller one. Actually and then there's also an adult pool. That's really quiet so if your kids are in the kids club I say go over to the adult pool where it's actually really quiet and calm. So that's what I have to say about crowded pools so the other one is dewey cruise versus a Disney resort for Disney experience. Okay you guys. If you've never been to Disneyworld then and I feel like you need to go to Disneyworld. Okay like they're very hard to compare Disney cruise line does such an amazing gene job of making it feel like a Disney experience. I mean they. They have a theme in down. They have the hospitality down. But it's not a it's not apart though right so if you are wanting to experience the rides and all that kind of stuff then that is like. It's trying to compare apples apples and oranges. I will say though what's awesome about Disney cruise line is they provide a three and four night cruise cruises. So what I would do. If you're interested interested. Is You do the resort for a couple of days and the parks and then you get on a cruise and relax from running around at the parks all day. And if you've been to the Disney if you've been to Disneyworld you know what I'm referring to you when I say Oh this will be nice to relax relax and just take it easy from you. Know just doing the craziness of of Disneyworld disneyworld resorts with kits. But if you're just wanting to really experience Disneyworld and you've never been I say give that go. Oh I and then I would definitely do a Disney cruise later but again if you WANNA do both they have the three tonight three to four night cruises and then you compare it with the resort -sorts and that's called A Land Sea package so.

"And I leave early because we Iran central time so it was six o'clock I I know I sound like an old person but it was seven o'clock Nashville time and I just really don't like eating super late. You go to bed and so because we're eating like so early at six or seven our time. It wasn't super busy. We were able to just sit. Say like in this booth that was overlooking the water and it was so gorgeous and we can see the sunset. And I don't even know and it's really felt like Hawaii to me and I've been to Maui and if you don't want to track all the way over to Hawaii I feel like this is such a perfect option and I'll say going from Nashville to Kabo. I think it was two and a half hours to get to Houston and then an hour and a half to get there so it really wasn't that bad. It was only an hour time difference so to me. That's pretty good especially comparing to Hawaii. Because I I have clients why right now and it's a track and so anyway. The food was delicious. The Room is humongous. The bathroom is humongous. There's a bathtub and shower. It depends on what room. You're the balcony is huge huge. You can see the ocean. It was gorgeous and the room wise. Let me let me think about it. So the room is not super modern. But it's not festive festive like an Mexican style. But it's not streamlined. And Clean Lines. But I'm trying to think what if feels like I don't know now I'm losing my mind. What how to describe it? That doesn't really matter but I will tell you all the best we slept in. Were super super comfortable and you guys. If there's a pillow that you're kind of like you know what this is like like smashing too much to the to the to the bed like we're used to earn pillows they will go get you other pillows. All of the resort's ball. They will help you figure out a pillow that works for you and this is what I'm talking about luxury. I mean when you're kind of like okay. These pills are not working for me. They want you to feel rested and the beds. I felt so good and so rest is sleeping there. I need to think about what else I want to say about one and only before Dan. I don't want this to go too long for you guys. You know the WHO'll was amazing. This is what I noticed one and only was great about this and so was montage In Grandma's I had US okay so they they are on top of what you need to the point again. I'm talking to all of you moms out. There were so used to doing everything right with the kids that okay so I wanted to sit in these chairs but it was in the sign. And I'm thinking okay. Can I move the umbrella you know. No they're going to move the umbrella for you. They are going to move it so that you're just laying there and they're going to put you in the shade which to me. That is so amazing that you don't have to think about trying to La swivelled umbrella to make it can happen and and get out of the sun and so they're they're looking out for you to see like Oh you're still you're in the sun. I'm GONNA move it. The Sun has moved. I need to move at some more four. I saw them do that with other couples. I thought that was just so cool. that you don't have to worry about any of that stuff and I just you know one of the things that I noticed with luxury properties as all of them somebody is walking you to your room and they are walking you through in your room. They are explaining how everything works for explaining how the Espresso machine works yes. There's an espresso machine in every room of of of his resorts. They're telling how long how works they're telling you how to use your temperature control there explaining like the things in the fridge so if they're not covered there explaining that you can take everything out you can go to Walmart. You can stock doc your fridge. If you don't want to worry about paying for all that that stuff they will take all of that out so you don't have to worry about being charged now grant bellis if you're like. Hey I only like regular coke diet coke. They'll take all of that out. EGALITE PEANUT EMINEM's they'll stock with Peanut Eminence. That was the other thing with Graham. Bell's open a drawer. There's all these eminem's and chips and I thought Oh my Gosh Gosh. The girls would go crazy if they saw this. They'd be like Oh my gosh. This drawer of junk food is amazing but going back to one and only and the resorts is that they walk you through they walk you to your room so they explained where things are at and then just walk you through your room like how to use the shower. How how to use whatever? Here's your robes. Here's a Blah Blah Blah. All the stuff I mean. When's the last time somebody walked into your hotel room explaining how everything worked right? And that's what I noticed like this is luxury that somebody is walking you through things and for me. I use almond milk. My coffee and so every time when that person was standing there I said. Can You bring me some alm amount to leave in the fridge and they did and it was great. It was it was amazing. And they're just on top of it. They're there there to make you feel so comfortable in just feel like you're on vacation even if your kids or even with when you're without kids and so I just so on a highly recommend that if you're thinking about going on a vacation with your family or if you WanNa go away with your husband or you WanNa go away on a girl's trip like these are such amazing options nations and I don't know if you guys know this about travel agents so with me. I get paid by the vendor and the wholesaler. So you do not have to pay me so I will will help you. I will make this stress free trip. Then you will go to these amazing resorts and then they will make your life even more stress free and I I feel like you're you know just at home you know and your home away from home and so if you guys are wanting to talk about Kabo or anywhere anywhere else I can help you with that. "And I don't even know how they made it and it wasn't disgusting it was actually delicious and so Their food was so good. Their pool food was so delicious. I ordered HAMAS and vegetables and corn chips and then one the time we actually went to one of their restaurants and we could have it delivered out to the pool so todd got salmon. I was really wanting a burger at this point. I don't know I really wanted wanted to American food. I got a burger with fries. It was so good and we got tros with caramel sauce and chocolate dipping sauce. The pool and it. It was so good like it's not your traditional pool food it mean it's just really amazing yummy food that you wouldn't even realize you are at an all inclusive and so I feel like with families. This is an amazing option to go to and they had a cute little playground and for the little ones and a little splash splash pad area for them to plan and then we also went to the teen area and that was so cool. There was all these video game systems that the kids could play on the teenagers. They could have candy bars. It's like a display of cakes and stuff like that for them. They can play air hockey. There's like a dance party thing going on in the back and I mean there's just so much fun things for the kids to do. I just feel like a good blend of you know having adult time and kid time time and you can put them in the kids club so that if you wanted to go to dinner just with you and your husband or if you were to go with like other couples or your parents and just wanted adult time I think it's it's amazing and so I just really loved grand villas and so it just made me feel even more confident to keep sending people there and I don't know it's just awesome and GRANDPA's you can upgrade and get a plunge pool if you wanted But the balconies are humongous. I mean you have like this bed and these is two chairs and a table. And they're all ocean view. That's what I love about. Grand Velez in Kabul is the way that they have designed the hotel every room. You can see the ocean which I thought was really cool. One thing that I noticed too about the beaches so like I mentioned montage you can swim. Resorted Patriarchal you cannot swim. In the beach and GRANDPA's you cannot swim in the beach but even walking the beaches you have to be careful because the water comes up so high and so so I thought that was really interesting just experiencing like walking the beaches and how that might feel and with that kind of feels scarier. Not and some people. Don't don't really care about the beach. I like walking the beaches and seeing if there's any shells and stuff like that and So those beaches you do have to be careful about and I will. I'll tell you in a minute. The beaches that I felt were less calm. I mean more calm for not being beach. That's going to be my next one and it's Spicer Roy. So just ending on Grand Palace. It truly amazing property. I had so much the food was so good. The breakfast was so good and let me go back to resort electrical so they're buffet. Todd was saying this is one of the best practices I've ever had and it just was it was really really Delicious it's interesting at all the resources we went to if they had granola they it was granola that they all had made. They all have their own recipes and they were are so good and we'll put in yogurt. I don't really eat a lot of yogurt so I would have it with almond milk and it was just so good. Everything was so good and so your eyes were just look at all the Food and you think oh my gosh. I can't eat all of this. So resorted petrol. Their breakfast was delicious. And I would say that Grand Velez was on par. You're with resort petrol and this is again I am saying this is how you see. That Grand Valla stands out over other properties because when their food is as good good if not better than not all inclusive that says a lot they even have a Michelin Star Chef at the Grand Palace which is huge a lot of times. That's why people are even going to GRANDPA's because of that. So that says a lot about a resort and the quality of food. And especially. If you're foodie these are the places to go I I did one in the mornings. We had breakfast in the room so that I could experience how that was and it was great. The food was hot. It was so good I I ordered eggs and they brought me refried beans. It wasn't it was like they whipped it up or something. I don't know it was so good. It was salsa it it was just delicious like it it just tasted so good and I had waffles and it just really blew me away for being breakfast having in the room because sometimes you might feel like going missing out by staying in the room to eat and I really wanted to experience that to share that with you guys and I loved it. Okay so then. We moved onto viceroy. Now Vice worry there's other properties throughout the United States. People really loved one in Chicago what I realize they all very different so the one in Kabo what it feels feels like to me is a little blend of Las Vegas and Miami. It's very chic and very white and Very very modern and they are really about the technology and what I mean by that is what was really cool about it when we went into the room. It's very modern like I said and clean lines and so they have the blinds from the balcony. You can push a button by your bed and those will drop down on so if it's too sunny or if you want the privacy but you still want light coming through you can drop that down and then you can drop your other blinds that are insider room by pushing a button at your bet and then those come down and then a Dr- like a rape comes down for when you're ready to sleep to make dark and then you can make their these lights. That ran along the drapes which I thought was so cool you could make them Turquoise Purple Pink. I Dunno they just made a lot of fun with technology and I thought that was really cool One thing that stood out to me was their pool. Didn't seem that didn't seem. It wasn't as big as what I was familiar with with. Montage and Graham Graham Bellas resort Patrick pools kind of smaller but they have three of them. So I think that helps but Montage Pool seems huge to me. Graham Bell's was huge and so when I compare it to Viceroy Pool is just not as big And some people may not care about that now I will say what I liked about. visory their beach. I felt like we could walk on that very easily. It was like a big beach and the water did not come up as high so you could really walk a really far distance now. Some people don't care about that stuff but some people really do like to walk the beach right like they they. They like walking the beach. They they're like on a beach vacation. I want to be able to walk it. Even if they don't WanNa go in it so I really did love that I will say that their breakfast was also amazing. They had this banana bread French toast and it was to die for it was so good that even got second serving and there was this other EG meal that I don't know what else was in it. It was very Mexican feeling and it was delicious and so Their food was so yummy. Me One thing that I noticed this place is family oriented. But I'm going to tell you what I felt about it. I felt that it's a great place to go with your spouse or to go on a girl's trip it feels very adult oriented to me and it feels very like nightlife like if you WanNa stay up and you you want to eat on the rooftop and there's music going and you really loved nightlife. This is a great place to consider. Because that's the vibe that I got that it's it's kind of like it comes alive at night time. I will say because I checked all the gyms at all the resorts there. Jim was really amazing. So I think you're you're pulling in people who care about their health. They want to stay in shape while they're gone. But you know maybe have a few drinks and yummy meals. But they'll go to the gym the next day work work it off. They had so many different machine. They had the ropes. They had waited sled that you can push that these really cool like when you're doing pull ups but you're almost Wall climbing there. Jim was to me the best out of all of them. I thought to myself I think the people who are coming here are wanting to have fun. But they don't want to go too far off lake working out and staying in shape and feeling good. So that's what I felt about Roy like that's the vibe that I got and and also you can rent bikes and I wish we could have done it. But we were running out of time I totally would have rode my bike like a down the road or wherever it went and That's part is complementary and I just thought that was really cool okay. So moving on to our last resort and that was one and only okay so one and only miata feels like Hawaii as well so grand villas and and one and only feel like Hawaii to me. It's so lush that you have no idea that you're in a desert and their grounds are huge and it's just so much trees and palm trees and bushes and flowers and I don't know what it is about. It just felt really really amazing and it felt like you were really tucked away. You really had a drive into Canada from the main road to get in which I think is kind of cool so because we we went in September there. Were not a lot of kids there. So if you WANNA go to these places I would highly recommend going when school is in session But this is what they said. This is a very family oriented resort to the point that fifty percent of their clientele are returning clients which I think says a a lot I can see why so I'm GonNa go through this our first of all one and only if it blew me away because their customer service to who was so amazing similar to montage to the point where it almost goes making me uncomfortable because I'm just not used to having so much attention and people focused on me you know as Moms we all know this rate like everybody's like snack. I want this I'm hungry. She's hitting me Blah Blah. My shirt needs to be cleaned. I didn't do my homework. And so you're so used to giving giving giving giving giving it gets turned on you even though that sounds amazing. You're kind of like Whoa. I am not used to this. It's like I'm like I don't know what to do with myself. Everybody is hating me either. A drink a non alcoholic or an alcoholic or or they're handing me a tropical popsicle and it just was. It was awesome Mike but it took a minute for me to get used to and what I loved about one and the only is they have a Butler to go with your room. So even if you're going into the entry level realm you get a Butler and so how it works is when you're seeing not in the highest level so if you're saying in a really high level room a- Butler might go between two to three groom's may be where the Butler that I had was going between seven and eight rooms and then maybe there would be a lower level that maybe they're going between ten rooms. I'm guessing guessing so they're not like a Butler standing at your door but where it comes in handy. Is this going to tell you. This is where it's truly amazing. Where if you came here with kids leads it would be a lifesaver? So here's an example. You get the kids all going and you get to the pool and you realize Johnny has left their swim goggles in the hotel room all you have to do is let someone know who works there to say. Hey I'm in this room. Can you let my I butler. No we left our goggles in our swim bag in the room in her closet and they will go. Get it for you to me. That screams luxury tree at its finest because how many of us know that like oh or even better you forget your swim diaper. And you're like okay. I'm going to have to hike it all the way back. Data has to watch the five kids. Or Okay I'll bring some of the kids or maybe Dad's golfing and you've taken the kids and now you gotta pack them all back up to walk back as you know you need that swim diaper so I mean the the fact that they have thought of these things to me. That blew my mind. I was like Oh my gosh and I think a lot of times people would think that seems like too over the top like just having that extra hand to help you so mazing and they will unpack your bags now. They didn't do that for us. Because we're really trying to live out of our bags But they would pack our bags so that we can have more time. And I don't know it just really pretty pampered. I would say this is the place to go now. If you don't WanNa go with your kids there is an adult only part and it's completely separate so you can go there and not have the Kiddos with you you and feel like you are in a very romantic vacation. The SPA area is very isolated and feels very calming. And there's like these little pools that you could lay out with the hubby and stuff like that. If you didn't want to go with the kids they also have a kids program so even if you WanNa have that time by yourself love with your husband Uber them in the kids club and they have a cool playground in the back and one of the girls was playing a game with one of the kids and and it just seems like an option if you wanted that but truly is a family oriented place but there is separate adult only pools from the family and I will say that their food was delicious and we locked out because there weren't a lot of people there.

"Of I want people to know my name I want all these things then montage news at the top of our list their food was delicious everything it was amazing about that trip and just want to say that like if you're thinking about going away on a couples you know like you're going with your husband or if you want to go with other couples this is a perfect location in my opinion to go it's so easy to get to and it just it felt romantic however when it's Christmas time though they have so many things for the family so that's what I mean if you just go at certain times when maybe the kids are in school if you WanNa just go with your spouse you will feel Lake Jake it's not busy and that's what we experienced even though families are you know are allowed to go and experience the resort as well so I wanNA move on to the resort of petrol so the resorted Petra goal is through a cliff you have to actually go through a tunnel and you once you get on the other side of the the tunnel you feel like you are away from the rest of the world is pretty cool and what I liked about this resort is it Kinda nfl isolated but in a good way and I don't know it's funny there's is really huge gates to get into the beginning of where you're going to go into the tunnel and Tad was saying it felt late Jurassic Park it's like these huge gates like leading you in and it was just really exciting and one thing about resort of Patrick all is is has a a restaurant that people will come to even if they're not staying on the property and you can do that so even if you're saying it any of the other resorts that mentioning if you wanted to go to this restaurant and I am so not good at Spanish I did not major in Spanish but it's L. folly on so it's F. A. R. A. L. L. O. N. so you don't pronounce pronounced ells and that's what that's what gets me every time and it's pretty much seafood to table so you're eating what they caught that day and it was such a great experience so I'm GonNa walk you guys through this experience again if you do not stay at this resort you can go to this restaurant so it was built into the cliff and you go up into the cliff and you go to where this cases where all the fish for the day that they have gotten and is what you can order so you pick which fish you want and then you pick the size that you want to go with it and you also pick your appetizers before are you even sit down at your table which I thought was pretty interesting so you can actually see all the different kinds of fish so I picked lobster and so I could see the lobster but I could see all the other or fish for the day which is pretty neat versus just reading a menu and trying to guess what it looks like they're going over it with you so they do it in small groups so for tonight it was just happened to be him and at that moment so we really got one on one attention and they're just going through how the fish tastes if it's fishy if it's not fishy if it's flaky if it's very you know if there's a lot of flavor to it I thought that was really fun and then just ordering your appetizer and then your sides to go along along with it then they see you and the view is amazing I mean you're pretty much on the cliff to the point that the water comes up and hits the rocks you may we get a little missed on your face that's how close you are so it is really gorgeous and I mean just looking at the water and having this delicious meal that in itself is worth going to the sort of petrol even if you're not staying there and then you get a desert so it's part of the meal like you're paying for the the fish that you're getting there's prices on the chalkboard behind and then and then the size and appetizer all like comte into that price ace and the desert is all part of that as well and so they bring out there was like three different choices of desert that you got at the end it was really fun and you get a bread basket it's really delicious is a great experience and so going back to resort Patrick although one thing I really really loved about it is their balconies he's all have plunge pools and they run the length of the patio so can you picture that you're looking out your patio to the ocean and there is a rock tangle plunge pool that is running from left to right I mean that's insane it's amazing it's not even upgrade all of them have it which is so cool because some of the other places that I went to plunge pools but it's an upgrade you had to spend more so that's that was my favorite thing about resort metrical the rooms are really big so was montage and I let me back up and sorry to be all over the place montage one of the favorite things that I loved about their room is it had an outdoor shower so you walk into this humongous bathroom and then you see this shower at the very end and it's outside so it's all glass and but you open the glass door and you are outside so to be able to take it outdoor shower and you're in your private room I don't know it just feels really fun and it just like a really neat feature that I truly enjoyed so let's go back to resort Patrick O. Eight let me say this about montage montage their decor is very very modern I do like it's a very clean lines it does not feel like Mexico it it does to me feel like the desert so if that's the kind of look you like in the static or aesthetic matters to you that something to pay attention to and I'm going to put pitchers in the show notes that you guys can see one I'm talking about and also if you do follow me on instagram you can see where I posted the pictures and maybe get an idea but I don't know if I posted the bedrooms for all of them so I will do that in the show notes okay so going back to resort patrick all their rooms feel very Mexican so it feels like traditional Mexico and it has all those different colors and it's really exciting and festive and definitely not modern so if that's not your jam that might not be the place is that you want to go so it feels very fun and their bathroom was humongous the rooms humongous the balcony is huge everything is amazing and a funding that they do is they they will bring you chips and Guacamole and to coronas before dinner which I thought was really cool and they give you a Tequila a bottle of Tequila in this really pretty the it's almost like a porcelain bottle the blue and white bottle And I just thought that was really cool so to be able to get that you know those little extras extras they really make a difference and I will say montage because it was our university when we walked in they had a bottle of champagne for us and they had this beautiful chocolate cake with gold flecks in it saying happy anniversary and I just thought that was awesome and the cake was so delicious and I I will say that I think todd was eating it for breakfast one day so I'm GonNa throw him under the bus for that just joking he can get away with that he can get away with eating cake at breakfast he has a fast metabolism so anyway so sorry to be bouncing back and forth it just jogged my memory so going back to resort Patrick all loved the balcony it was amazing they have ah they have adult pools as well as well as a family pool so I think it's great my opinion with petrol I probably wouldn't do a family family vacation there to me it feels more of an adult only not to say that there won't be kids there but that's just my feeling that I would just I would go with my spouse versus bringing the kids so just to give you an idea okay and then the other thing that's cool about it is it's right by marina and so it's safe enough to walk down to the Marina we did not have time but if we had time what they would do is drive you down in the tunnel to the gate and then you can watch the marina and we totally would have done it I felt comfortable enough to do and that's it's what I think is neat that I felt comfortable to be able to do those things if I had more time staying at the resort like for the whole week so then I'm going to move onto Grand Velez grand villas this is the only resort that I went to you that was all inclusive now this is where I send my clients when they say to me that they want a five star all inclusive -clusive with amazing food amazing drinks amazing customer service grand villas is what comes to mind so they have one in Revere Maya Cabos Cabos and Puerto Vallarta and the Kabo location was added world so this is where I'm going to tell you I felt that it felt like why why they have so many palm trees there will I let me back up for a second when you get in the lobbies gorgeous but you walk in and they give you a little neck massage like they get this little central oil and and she does her two minutes feels amazing I mean you WanNa fall asleep I I mean I don't know and they do that all located at all the locations for Grand Palace and that's one of the things that I really love about them I usually don't tell my clients I am giving you that sneak peek I usually usually don't tell them because I kind of want them to be surprised so it was fun to experienced that firsthand okay so I walk in and they're like three huge each pools like when you look down when you're looking at the ocean you just see these three huge infinity pools and there's the one for the adults and that's at the very every front so that's closest to the beach and the ones behind our where it's kid friendly family friendly and all that kind of stuff so what I loved about grand umbrellas one. Flu Hawaii I don't know what they've done it because the other places have palm trees to but they had so much more flowers they had like Fuchsia Asia flowers off the balcony and the whole grounds were just lush you would have never known that you were in a desert and it was amazing it was just fun to experience the difference 'cause resort Patrico felt more desert because also in the cliff so there's a lot of rock it was really cool the aesthetic was awesome but it's very different so going Gotcha Granville us if you're wanting an all inclusive you will not go wrong going to grandma's I will tell you that I've had people go to Graham Valves that have gone to an excellence or finance resort and they are like wow this blows them out of the water and they thought that that was a luxury resort and that's what I'm trying explain here that it's hard to explain that unless you've gone there and so what I like about grandma's their rooms are humongous their modern clean clean line again and they have a huge tub with a separate shower the bathroom issues so grand bellis is known for like being very we welcome to families and so I can see how you could have families coming and this would be the most amazing trip to the point that I took a tour and and they showed me a room that was set up to have a baby so they had the crip set up in there they had all these cute little amenities that could go with the baby you and then they had a little step stool for them to be able to get onto the toilet you know because if you have toddlers they need the little step stool or to get to the sink or to get into to the bathtub and then if you needed this little you know the little tub for the baby inside the big tub it was really cool to be able to see that and so I was like wow they really make it so easy for you to bring your kids they even had little robes for the kids so you see the adult robes which I was experiencing mincing in every resort but then to see little kid robes I thought was so adorable and I could just see my youngest wanting smoothies every day and by being all inclusive you don't have to think about it right you don't have to think about what is the cost and you could be sitting at the pool and enjoying whatever you want and you've already paid for it so for for me I can see where doing the all inclusive at Grand Palace is truly amazing and the food I'm going to tell you the food in my opinion was as good as montage and the result of Patrick also at that point that's the only one that I could compare to and I thought wow oh I am so impressed with the food and the drinks were amazing I'm not a big drinker I will say but they had made an Avocado Margarita and I thought that sounds so weird by going to try because it's their special and I really need to try these drinks because I know that that's what people like to do when they go on advocation personally me I like to drink coffee so I like to have coffee drinks that's my jam I'm like I'm going to try this and it was delicious it was it was amazing and end known for my agency owner that he said that they use top shelf liquor and all that kind of stuff that a lot of the other resorts you will find that just even feel a little bit of your drink you'd have to drink four to five drinks where at Grand Bella you only need to drink one and I didn't even finish mine so anyways it was was delicious though I.

"She normally does two sessions a month and again again episode one twelve is where you're gonNA find how she does the program and explaining all of it to you guys and I just WanNa share this information until I do the series series so that it's not leaving you in the dark and you know I don't want to hold all of this just to myself I want to be able to help all of you moms so let's go to the show hey you guys as I am super excited to do today's episode all about Kabo so if you don't follow me on social media either on Instagram Amber Sandberg or mom inspired spires show or moms for living on facebook you might have missed that we went to Kabul so todd and I went to Kabo in early September we actually celebrated our anniversary anniversary wiler there but it was a work trip What had happened is earlier this spring I had gone to travel dinner here in Nashville and met got some great people that were sales reps for resorts in Kabo and so I worked out a plan that I would go and check out multiple all triple resorts while I'm there now I wouldn't recommend this for the average person because touted I actually got really good at checking in and checking out of the resorts and we pretty much out of our suitcases but I wanted to do this for you guys I wanted to experience several resorts back active back so that I could compare and contrast what I liked about them what stood out to me what I didn't care for so that I could come back and report it all back to you guys now most of the resorts that I stayed at were not all inclusive and I know that there's a lot of people that are all about all inclusive and it's a deal breaker if it's not hot but I do want to say that there's a level of customer service and a level of food quality that you find when you go to an not all inclusive resort now if you wanna go and not think about anything then yes all inclusive is the way to go and I did go to one and it's one of woods arts that I send my clients that truly is a five star resort because a lot of resorts WANNA say that they're five star and they truly aren't into their more a four star and so if you care about that stuff then that really does matter when you were trying to figure out where to stay so I'm going to back back it up and I say that a lot of people that when I say let's go to Mexico because we're going to get their biggest bang for their buck they are concerned with safety and I wanted to be able to go to Kabul was first of all I've never gone to Kabo I've gone to Cancun several times a long time ago Oh and then we have gone 'cause Amal and Puerto Vallarta on a cruise so we were only there for a day and even that that has been a long time so I find that a lot of people from national anyways go to Cancun because it's a pretty easy flight so I wanted to go to Kabo and kind of so you what that experience was like and how it's different than Cancun and how I felt safety wise so that you guys could see that I'm actually going myself Alf and I do feel safe so a few things that I notice going into Kabo we took multiple transportation because husband were going to so many resorts and why I'm saying this is because we weren't just going from the airport to the resort and then we were there for the whole week no we actually had to leave so we took private transportation and taxis we did a combination of both and never did I feel unsafe there was never a time that I thought okay this seems a little sketchy I don't really know I felt completely fine I wouldn't feel any different than travelling in a taxi you in New York City to be honest like and I've been to New York City so I just wanted everybody to know that upfront because I know that that is a big thing about going to Mexico is the safety and before Putin Khanna had any issues recently in the news I had told people that when you go do you really need to stay on the property that you're staying at that these countries you know there's a lot of poverty and I think a lot of people think okay well if they go to Jamaica if they go to Kana or places like that that they're completely fine but anywhere you go there could be dangerous areas Oh yes and so I don't want people to exclude Mexico altogether because of what they've heard on the news so I even went to the point in my podcast cast herself I asked three separate local people in different resorts one of them was two of them were drivers and one of them was our waiter at one of our resorts and so I had asked them what do they feel about the safety in regards to Kabul at least since I was there and they said had they felt Kabul was super safe and they felt that just like anywhere there's dangerous areas just like there's dangerous areas in the United States and and in Kabul wasn't one of them and and I asked him about Cancun and they said that they didn't feel Cancun was dangerous neither was Puerto Vallarta and so it out to me because I said to them I'm like if you were an American the news portrays it that it's just scary altogether and that don't go there and they thought it was interesting that that's what was being portrayed so I really just wanted to dig a little bit deeper to find out what locals thought thought about the safety of being there so I wanted to get that out of the way because they want you to think about that during the whole episode because it doesn't matter how nice the resort is if you're thinking you're not gonNa feel safe so I wanted to get that out of the way and never did I feel that I was in danger and I definitely would bring my girls back there because these resorts are so amazing and even though touted I went by ourselves and that was awesome because there's adult only pools in these resorts there family programs are awesome and I just got thinking to myself migrants with so love this and it would be really fun to experience us so I'm going to start in the order that we wet and I I want to say this too because I've gotten so many people ask me about Kaba once I got back they've seen pictures you don't follow me you can go to instagram handle that's where I post most of my travel pitchers either of my clients or myself and they just were shocked about the landscape of Kabo so if you're not familiar with Kabo it's truly at the very tip of Mexico and so it meets the Pacific Ocean and the see of Cortes and it just feels completely different there are mountains and it's a desert yet at the ocean and so it's a really neat eight atmosphere one thing that stood out to me is I kind of felt like it was a blend of Scottsdale Arizona and Palm Springs California so I've been to both both and it depends on what we're resort that you stay at if they play that upper not so what I found is some of them it really felt like you were in the desert sir and they kind of made you feel that way and I felt like wow is in palm springs but there's an ocean or I felt like I was in Hawaii and so I'm GonNa Start with our first resort sort and it's montage montage has a lot of luxury properties and there's a lot in the United States as well and this was the first time saying in a montage and I have to say that Ah this property truly felt like a palm springs and on the ocean one of the things that's amazing about montage and I'll tell you the other one that has has this as well it's a small mobile beach is one and only so my first and my last resorts that I stayed at swim beaches and this is a big deal if you want to go into the Russian and swim that you can't just do that anywhere in Kabo so montage has a snowmobile beach to the point that people would come in on excursions versions to their beach because it's a little cove so that's why it's protected so the waves are not strong so that's why you can actually go swimming and that is the main reason the reason why you can't swim is because the waves are really strong and the currents really strong so you're protected in this cove and I notice all these is both coming in to do excursions for snorkeling while if you're staying at the montage were and todd loves a snorkel he just went right out and didn't have to go catch an excursion excursion or catch a boat to then have them take them to this area and I just thought if you really love that kind of stuff then it is really important to either stay stay at the montage or one and only todd saw amazing fish and we've been snorkeling and a lot of different places we've been to Bahamas we've been to Maui and he was able to see a puffer fish and all these other different fish I think tank and some other ones he's more into fish than I am and so he was truly impressed impressed also you can go kayaking and you can go paddle boarding which is pretty cool and it's included you don't have to pay an extra cost which I thought was great so what we did is we did a sunrise Kayak tour right out from the montage beach and so that we can see the sunrise however it was a little cloudy so we couldn't see it like how you could see it on a clear day but it was an amazing experience and it was just awesome that it was part of it you didn't didn't have to go catch a bus and then go jump into an excursion and get up at four am we could just get up at six something and then walk down to the beach and then just jump into a kayak which was really cool I also wanted to say to that even though it's a family resort they do have a pool that is adjust for families adults can go in there too but there's an adult only area that's closer to the beach with an infinity pool and if you rent a Cabana Cabana you get your own private little which I thought was amazing so if you're going during a high time and you're kind of like you know what I just WanNa get away a little bit you can totally have this little Cabana Cabana area with your own private which I thought was amazing like I hung out there I was lucky enough to just have they were they they gave it to me so that I could experience it and just see what it feels like and to me maybe you wouldn't do it every day but I would definitely say it's worth renting Capanna for a day the grounds were beautiful you could just walk around and you just felt so peaceful and the pools were gorgeous I mean it was just it was just like a postcard and it just felt like you were really in the desert but with the wider and the ocean and so it was a really cool balance balance of water and desert and mountains I will say about the montage is their customer service is out of this world I mean now that I could compare all the resorts I could see where they really went above and beyond so if you care about customer service then you may want to go due to the montage like that might be high on your list so when you think about like you go to Nordstrom and Customer Services Amazing even though you love target but if you really are Kinda like no I wanna be taken care.

"And add a little extra frontier day hey you guys have you heard the saying September is a new January I actually her that last year and I thought it was really interesting because I think that where it comes from is that with schools usually going back in September after Labor Day kind of marks the end of the summer you kind of get a second chance to go after whatever your goals were for that year and for me two thousand nineteen was really really about focusing on my health losing weight and by fitness so if a lot of you guys have been following me or you know me in person you know that I work Akao and you know that I've lost weight and it's just been a really important goal of mine and I'm still working at it I'm not quite there yet and I talk talk about it in the Intros of the podcast before the episode because I'm going to be doing a series I think I decided to do it in December leading into January and because I don't WanNa leave you in the dark I want to take the time to talk about it on the intro so if you don't have to lose weight you don't need to lose weight but you know somebody that has struggling ruling another mom that impacting her confidence and just impacting her whole life please share this with her because that's how I felt and I wanted to get back to my old self and yeah I know there's moms out there that are feeling that way they're just kind of feeling schlumpy they're not dressing the way that the US too and they feel like they give everything to their kids and I'm I'm here to say that lets us September to give back to ourselves like let's find ourselves and especially before we get into the holidays and we know it just gets so crazy and as moms we're thinking about how to make it so special for the kids and all that stuff so let's take this time to really do something that will make a huge impact in our lives and so if you WanNa know how I started my weight loss journey in January you can check out episode one twelve with Amanda Neighbor she goes over how her program works as a seven week online fine program and if you WANNA use my link I would greatly appreciate it because what happens is I get a small commission when people use my league which then helps me keep keep the show going on that way I keep bringing out amazing guests for you and providing awesome content every week also something that other people don't do if you you join her program and you WanNa ask me questions or you just Kinda WanNa know like what I did and all that kind of stuff I would be happy to answer them for you if you're drama emails shoot me an email if you're not then you can message me at facebook or Amer under Amber Sandberg and we'd be happy to help you and kind of just walk you you through my journey a little bit until I do the series in December so I say let's make September the new January let's get a fresh start let's finish this year out strong especially before the holidays I.

"Re-engage in our daily life so we can go to school and we can attack our studies and and do a good job so brakes are we love breaks and we love vacations but we want to see them as a time. Not just we're just living so we can get to the next vacation. No we go on vacation and we have a great time so that we can get back to the daily life and do our work well and we can come back refreshed fresh and fuelled up and charged up to work and i think that perspective alone can help our kids recognize what works a good thing going back to school on. Monday is a good thing. We just need to have a great weekend so we can recharge and do that work well yeah. I definitely agree <hes> mike. We're almost at the end of the show and i wanted to talk to you about teenage boys a so a couple oh things teenage boys when it comes to dating and then also i know you talked about this in the book the dynamics between the mom and the son and then the dad and the son so can you just share a little but more about the. I don't know if you've talked about dating but i just wanted to throw that in there were you know we have a world. That's very sexualize of course and <hes> you know even if it weren't weren't there hormones are going to kick in at a certain point and they're going to have an interest even if it's just looking at the cleavage on the magazine at the checkout stand at the grocery store so there's no getting around the fact in that they're going to take an interest in the opposite sex in it's going to be a part of the chemistry in their blood and so i think we need to prepare them for this and start to talk about <hes> sex sex in its proper context romance in its proper context and speaking of marriage and sex and those kinds of things in a way that puts in its proper context and i think a good marriage modeled for them can can be a great education leading up to that period in their own lives as i said from the very beginning of the podcast envisioning their future every day and even talking about the fact that hey you'll probably married and we'll look forward to your getting to know your future spouse and we're praying for them and those are the kinds of things that give them this positive view of what they're going going to have this. You know this chemical hurricane in their body you know when they're thirteen fourteen years old so we're getting them ready in a world that's so over sexualize used by putting this in the proper context and they can't walk through the mall. I mean you can home school them. You can put them in a bubble. All you want but you know you can't drive down the freeway without seeing signs for the gentleman's club or you know a victoria secret in the mall. Whatever you're not going to get around that kind of of in your face <hes> sexualize culture and i'm thinking you gotta talk about this long before you want to and unfortunately i rent a lot of parents especially christian parents that they don't want to talk about this topic with their kids. They just avoided. I mean i've done premarital marital counseling with people and they've said my parents never talked to me about sex at all. I mean that's just shocking to me. It's a very uncomfortable conversation but but it's an important one for boys in the book talk a lot about you know boys learning to respect women in a way that sees them in the biblical context of being a special creation by god odd to treat them with courtesy to show even the old word chivalry you know to open doors to help people carry things the kinds of things that let us recognize that we wanna be gentleman settlement and we really do want to show the kind of gallantry dare i use that word that shows are are respect for women in this world and so that helps them realize they're not just <hes> you know some kind of play thing to satisfy some sexual urge. You're going to have when you're fourteen <hes>. They're very special people that should be thought about as <hes> you know if someone <hes> you know as a group of people segment of society that we want to treat with great respect and so you know all of that you know we gotta go a lot further and i try to in the book. Even though it's a short chapter you know given all you could say about the topic to try and get them ready to understand what it is to get into. <hes> you know a dating relationship. I don't think again should be put off as though i'm not talking let my kid date till they're through school and have a nest egg and can buy a house. I mean we want them to be chased right. We want them to obey the biblical rules of of sexual ethics and yet. We don't want them to be married till they're thirty. That's a really tough combination of things. Were setting our kids up for particularly boys so <hes> we wanna on a talk positively about these things and talk through some of these issues and know that sex is a powerful drive. It's a very important part of life but just like a fire. You wouldn't light it just in the hallway of your house. There's a there's a fireplace for that and that's where it belongs and it's a great thing and it's a wonderful blessing but you gotta put it in its proper context <hes> no. I think that's great because i do feel like people just think okay. We'll just you know hope for the best and you know that they will get married. You know when they're in in their late twenty s and stuff like that kind of what you were saying about thirties and stuff like that so <hes>. Is there any recommendation that you have four dating when they do want to start dating in high school well. Did you have any rules that might be good for you know for the listeners to hear especially from a pastor well my number one rule with my kids. Even though a lot of the christian russian culture tried to ignore dating and sweep it under the carpet and say oh we don't we don't want encourage that because they'll end up in the backseat of a car and you know the just all all that nonsense and unfortunately sometimes people are projecting their own failures from their teenage years into the next generation and i'm just saying listen. There's a way to raise your kids. Not with the right parameters offers <hes> but the number one rule i had was nothing is is under the radar in other words. There's a lot going on in the average youth group a church where you know suzy's into john on and they're kind of dating but no one knows about it and you only people with the right instagram account know who loves who and all that and i'm just saying everything in my kids i said has to be out in the open. You start liking a girl. That's fine but let's talk about it. Let's make sure there's no secrets <hes> you know. If there is is an attraction and you start packing up. I just wanna make sure that's out in the open and that was and i so grateful that when my kids started dating <hes> you know the dads in the youth group were willing to sit down with my son. I think of my my my second born in a very serious meeting to say okay yeah. You don't want to go to get ice cream with my daughter. <hes> we're going to have a half an hour meeting. A forty five minute meeting at starbucks starbucks and talk this through and those were great. I so encourage that and i was excited and even my oldest son is getting married to to have that dating relationship with a kind of <music> a kind of a transparent thing all dating i just said listen i want it to be in public and as a pastor wrote fairly large church in southern california it was funny. I would get taxed pictures on my son would be out to dinner and say hey i saw your son with you know at the steak house or whatever and and that's the kind of thing i remind my kid. That's what you want you out in the open. You want to date in public places you want to you know avoid all the context that would get you in trouble sexually but i don't want secret stuff. I don't want seek relations. Just be honest and i know that's hard because a lot of parents don't want to talk about their kids. Even being you know sexually interested in somewhat. I being romantically drawn to someone but you need to set them up before they have those feelings to say. I don't need to know every detail. I know it's embarrassing for kids to talk about their innermost thoughts but you know when it's coming around to i can't wait to see suzy at youth group this week. I just wanna know and then when it gets down to hey it's okay for a social engagement here to go out and get to know what it is to relate to a person of the opposite the sex i just wanna make sure it's something that her dad knows about. I know about that. We give our blessing to and that you know you do without any secrecy because it's the secrecy. She gets everyone into trouble. No i love that and i think that's a great point. <hes> as we end you you do mention the dynamics between a momma son and the data and the sun. Can we just finish on that note and any thoughts with especially when you have teenage sons you know and the dynamic with the relationship between a mom and a son especially ashley well it gets tough. You know it really gets hard when when young men are are wanting independence and they see their mom as a mommy and they really start putting a a a you know a stiff arm out there and pushing mom back. It's one of the really i think it's difficult times for a mom win. Her son. You know gets to be fifteen in sixteen years old and doesn't really want to open up and i think that's the kind of <hes> that's kind of time. When dad needs to be very involved oft because i don't think that's necessarily a bad thing. It's just a transition you know the sun will come back you know to really respect his mom and usually it's after college or somewhere in the middle of college where where you would create a little bit more of that open interaction and intimacy in the sun sharing his heart but that stops in in many ways and i think it's because the boy he does not want to be seen as a momma's boy and he'd much rather associate his thoughts and feelings and and relay them to dad and i think that needs to be available for that so i would just say some of those difficult years. I think maybe fifteen sixteen seventeen. I'd say mom just hanging there though few tearful nights when you try to get your son to talk and he doesn't wanna talk talk and you don't want to tell you what he's thinking <hes> but you know if dad can step up during those years i can just tell you you know your son will be back. <hes> you know made nail never be your nine year. Old again certainly will be back to a place where it doesn't feel like he's pushing you out of his life all the time and you know our sons did that but it wasn't disrespectful and it certainly i always reminded my kids anson. She's not just your mom. She's my wife number. Selling my kids at points was. What did you think i'd do to a guy here in in the costco parking lot if he talked to my wife the way oh you just talk to my my way you know i want them to know. This is my wife. It's not just your mom and so some of that we we don't allow it to be disrespectful or anyway aggressive aggressive or angry but when my son doesn't really want to bear his heart to mom as a sixteen year old <hes> i understand it and i know he's trying to find his place in the world and trying to grow up and be a man dan and <hes> i think sometimes it's the man to man talk around a golf with your kid or you know a trip to go. Do some kind of hobby with your son where you know he'll start talking again and i think the the real key is getting your chairs. Side by side you know face to face is great for the intimacy of husband and wife but sometimes your boys aren't gonna open up till you get your chair side by so you're sitting in angels game or you're at dodger stadium and you can just sit there and say you know what about amber seemed to be interested in the that's when things open so ads step in in those years moms you know grab clean lina expert. It'll give us really great advice because i think even the moms that have younger boys to kinda know that this will be coming to prepare yourself so that you're not not taking it personal and the you know to have the dad's kind of just step in during those years and trusting that the boys will come back so no i think all of this has been really a great <hes> mike so as we wrap up where can people find your book and where they work in they find you on social media and <hes> your website yeah well social media. You can just look for pastor pastor. Mike pastor mike on twitter. <hes> pasha mike on facebook. All those will get you to me <hes> but the book itself is everywhere you buy a book right is on amazon christian book dotcom <hes> barnes and noble. It's out there. It's digitized and not only that..

"Hey guys I'm super excited to be ending our four part series today with Lisa Woodruff professional organizer as we talk about papers so for those of you that are just not naturally good at papers. I feel like there's some people who just are like no to the paper like they just throw it all out. I'm not sure if they even keep anything. There's like no it's gone or they really are organized and they already just over. Those papers are GonNa go or their ruthless will what they're going to keep so it's very easy for them. It's very black and white so this is all the people that paper is great to them. They're kind of like I don't know what to do. There's so much paper what art projects on my keeping. Why do I have to hold onto this paper from school? <hes> win. Can I throw this out all the stuff okay and I wanted Lisa to come on and talk to us about paper so that we can stop thinking about papers so much and it take over our lives because it starts from such a young age you know preschool. They're like coming home was so much paper and then they're gonNA elementary school and I don't know what middle school or high school looks like for paper but elementary school. There's there's so much paper too and so I want you guys to feel like you have some help in regards to paper and if you have any friends that are struggling with the paper bus. Please share this episode with them and I hope that it inspires you to kind of just I don't know get rid of the paper or organize the paper that you're gonNA keep so enjoy the show. Some of you may be like I don't even know what I'm doing and this program's great for you because it's going to teach you a lot of things that you might not be familiar with and so that is what really did it for me is it gave me new tools that I didn't know but then I didn't know somethings on things but combining that and then getting back into working out has really been a game changer so again. I would love to help you now. Let's go to the show Hey Lisa. We are back for part four of the series. Thanks so much for coming back on the show today. Of course thanks number all right so we're going to just jump right in and we are going to talk about. The paper and I know for many moms can be very overwhelming and I feel like people are either really good at paper or they're really not good at paper and feel like the people who are really good at people start out so I don't know if that's really good at paper but they're just it doesn't exist in their house and I've been in those homes that I'm Mike Wears all your paper. I thought this is a good topic to talk about especially when you have children that start going to school and they just bring home loads of paper I will literally turn around and I like there's all this paper that was not on the counter before it was like we were did all this come from is because he just unloaded the rag and just flung it everywhere so I want you to share with us. How you help people with dealing playing with paper and you know how to manage it how to throw it away? Like what what do you do with it so that you're just not consumed by all this paper yeah a I. I just WanNa say your normal. No one knows what to do with paper. Oh good so I have a certification program for our paper organizing course for professional organizers and professional organizers sign up because they can organize your entire house even without you there but they don't know what to do with with paper. There are no resources there are no books are no programs it. There's no nothing there's either keep it because the I._R._S. is going to come after you or get rid of it all O.. J. Are both very very bad answers and if you read the Marie Condo book the Magic Art of tidying up which works really really great in your closet but she does get rid of all your paper Okay Oh she does oh I never sent. I said nothing will it will never spark joy. Get rid of all of it and I want to say this because in Japan yeah they do not have birth certificates Oh period. They have no Perry paper they don't. You don't need a birth certificate. Every single thing in that country is digitized. Oh uh-huh so they need her. You need to know that because if you read the book and she said doesn't spark to get rid of it goodbye going at your compliant driver's license here in the state of Ohio you need your social security card even know where that is your birth certificate and you have W. Two from last year W. Two from us. I had to go to the tax return. Yes yeah Americans need and have paper in the nineties. They told us we would be a paperless society. They lied to us. They lied. Yeah and things have gotten digitized. They have medical records are digitized. They are not kept permanently <hes>. It's you know that no seven years goodell. They only have to keep it seven years so your childhood records are nowhere digitally medical records. Oh Yeah Oh yes so you have to prove that you are immunized. You can't <hes> interesting. Someone on our team is paper. Yes yeah right. That's what I want you to realize is that you need to consider the source when you're asking about papers so if you're asking an accountant about tape paper they are going to answer it from an I._R._S.. seven-year seven-year perspective if you're asking an estate lawyer about paper they're gonNA answer it based on settling your estate someday. If you're asking a <hes> parent of a special needs child they are going to answer what paper you need to keep in order to what I EP services. You can get for your child one day. Who are you asking how long you should keep paper because everyone is going to answer it differently? I have all those answers and that's why I like paper. Organization is my thing paper organization. It's my thing because we do have to keep paper and I do like to keep it in paper format instead of digitally because it changes and because it's portable because other people can access it easily yeah. That's a good point. I don't think that yeah I just want to start us off on the basis like knocking to digitize it all and we're not going to get rid of it all so then we can have the discussion yes so it brings us back to kids paper. You know me I always liked. Try to frame it for sure like could you get to the point Rogun Dam so many series two awesome. I think though I do that purposefully as a teacher because if I just give you the answer then you're like Yep I knew that I heard that but if I change your mindset ah and your child's bedroom to an apartment and they're close to you know walking closet when it's not a walk in closet and their paper to the fact that you cannot get rid of it. You don't live in Japan then you go wait. Wait a minute I now I need to listen. I need to actually listen. And because I did not know what you're talking to me about so kids paperwork there couple different categories there's important they're sentimental and there's not important at all. <hes> and there's just so much there's so much so we need to get really really good at making faster astor decisions with kids paper so important paper would be any paper that is related to money or their education or services or medical unimportant paperwork. Is the newsletter after you read it anything. You're not going to actually do this a flyer. That's coming home from school really spelling test math tests phonics papers were like there's a lot of kids go paperwork. They're like Oh. My child touched this gray yeah right as a teacher I could tell you we send the stuff home. So you know what we're teaching as a parent I can tell you I didn't read it right sending their so that you can teach them. I don't need to know every single thing you don't need to keep it serves important unimportant and their sentimental like the first time they write their name and the eighty ninth time they write their name and the fourteenth Turkey handprint that they bring home and you love them so the way to deal with this the easiest is to have a big plastic tub for for each of your kids or just one is fine if you don't have more than one and a central location like the bottom of your front hall closet or in the laundry room or the wherever a place where you can keep this been and as all these papers come at you if you can't even deal scan through to see if there's anything urgent that you have to send back to school and drop it all in the been if you want to if you have.

"It's. Yeah. So I think I think it's great to go on adventure. I don't think you have to do something. That scares you every day. It's good to do it every once in a while, and then process recover, and when you're ready you can do something else that scares you a little bit. Yeah. I love that. Now did was it hard for the kids to readjust to. I think it was a little bit. But it was things like oh my gosh. The, you know, the water's just pouring out of the faucet. And or I saw. It's like they're washing their hands. And just they keep letting the water flow and flow. Realized that like you take that for granted especially living in in the United States that we can just run water. You know? And so I love that. They're more aware of that yet. It was stuff.
