"In the major leagues. That's that's that's a good spot. You till jackson ethan to get forget lane in the field man get up. Get on the mound. I tried to tell us about ali. More because i know you guys are friends but i was looking at the math right so he would have been in the cards system coaching. And such would you. Were still playing here. What what was your interaction. Since he wasn't at the big league level well we met through Through bobble studies in some of the the stuff that went on and spring training He was a coach. Obviously in the lower levels and i was a player But we've been friends a long time and then as we got a little bit older and We've just kinda grown closer. He lived in jupiter and the off season. Which is where we lived and We started hanging out and having dinner and and we just became really close and then I think one year. I was on rehab and jupiter and we spent some time together and i got a chance to watch him a coach and manage and and just how carried himself and We've just remained close. We just you know we had a lot of of of things in common and and Just a great guy. I mean he's just people get a chance to be around him. He's got a very Just a really cool demeanor. He laughs a lot. He's he's full of joy he's These funny He's just a great person. I think the one thing that when you walk away spending time with ali You wanna spend more time with ali. You can't always say that about people and They era a tremendous family. His wife amber is incredible. You've got to the cutest little girls you've ever seen So i just can't. I mean i don't know i haven't spent enough time around managing the game to tell you. You know his his managing acumen but as far a person goes on a quick learner and bright and just Takes everything in and can communicate and interact and and Person skills are are off the charts so I think anything that that might come fast him as the manager. he'll learn quickly from. I think you'll handle it. I think he's he's very wise and that he is not afraid to ask questions. The people around him that might have the ability to help him and so From that standpoint no ego no. I've got this. no you know. Sort of Anything that would hold him up from continuing to get better and better at the craft and the galvanizing of team. And i just can't i can't really imagine him not doing well at anything. He doesn't live in that. Obviously being the manager of the cardinals falls under that category. Did he did he talk over the years about. I wanna be a manager or he was on that trajectory. But what did he did. He always think that this was possible. I think that he's the kind of person that just kind of worries about what he's doing then and doing it. Well i don't think he he ever was like set out to be the major league manager of the cardinals. I don't think that.
Resurgent Valdez 'amazing' in Astros' Game 5 win
"Your done Alvarez and framer Valdez teamed up to move the Astros one win away from the World Series after a nine to one game five win over the red Sox Alvarez had a first inning solo Homer and added a two run double in the Astros five run sixth inning Houston starter Valdez tossed eight innings of one run three hit ball with five strikeouts Astros manager dusty Baker says his team's game five fate was in good hands you know all the answers for amber and it really in the hands of Alvarez you know the entire body else contributed Rafael Devers had a solo Homer in the seventh for the red Sox after starter Chris sale allowed four runs and struck out seven in five and a third innings Gethin
Fresh update on "amber" discussed on The Lead
"It's a 6 time in Atlanta they'll go to the World Series and the first time. Since 19 99. Today, the athletics Britt girlie on how these two powerhouse offenses match up. And under the radar pitcher who could play a big role and what's at stake for both of them, in the 2021 World Series. From wondering in the athletic, I'm Tiffany ocean Shinsuke. It's Tuesday, October 26th, and this is the lead. So Brett, we want to look at how both of these teams got here. And players who could be different makers in this matchup. So first, the Astros, who beat the Red Sox in the ALCS. And when a lot of us think Houston, we think hitting, but as you wrote, it was actually one of their pictures, framber Valdez, who may have turned that series around. Can you tell us about his impact? He said after his first outing in that American League championship series and outing in which he did not complete three innings, he was humiliated. He felt like, no matter what happened, he was going to go at least 7 innings in his next start. And that is exactly what he did. High fly ball into left back near the wall. It's caught by Brantley another one two three inning for Valdez who is through 8. Amber Valdez went more innings in his game 5 start in Boston than the previous four ASTRO starters combined. Wow. Far and away the best playoff outing by a Houston starter. He did it because he was able to bear down. He was meditating between innings, the broadcast got him kind of slowing things down. A guy like framber Valdez, when he can command the baseball, he gets a lot of ground ball outs. So if he's commanding that ball and he's not walking guys, you are seeing double plays. You're seeing balls pounded into the ground, and that is what you saw with the Red Sox lineup. Valdez is unusual, and then for a starter, he only has two pitches. He's got that big sweeping curve ball, but he is able to, again, control where both of those pitches go. He can be an absolutely devastating pitcher. So what Valdez did was really turned the tide and really changed a lot of opinions about can the Houston Astros without their best starting pitcher, Lance mccullers, junior actually continue to be a very good playoff team and the answer to that Tiffany is a resounding yes. Well, as we've kind of mentioned already, beyond valdes, there are some questions about this pitching staff. Obviously, in today's game, you don't need starting pitchers going super deep into games every night, but do the Astros have enough pitching to get by. If you would ask me that a week ago, I would have said, absolutely not. However, watching for amber valdes, watching Luis Garcia, who changed where he stood on the mound and was able to go deep into their game as well, really has me convinced the Houston bullpen. We know they have Ryan Presley. We know the Kendall graveman. We know that Brian Stan. They have some relievers there. And we also know that they have the dusty baker factor who knows when to take pictures out. He said, a guy was not a pitch count. He was on a performance count. You know, he is a throwback a little bit to the olden days, and we know that Houston has been on the forefront of analytics. So when you marry those two, you get the perfect storm. And that's what we're seeing right now. So I do believe that Houston can cover for the loss of Lance mccullers junior if they get the same kind of productive outings from vampires and Luis Garcia, and maybe even Jose or kitty, I think that could be a real key for Houston going forward. Meanwhile, when we think about the Astros offense, the household names are guys like Jose Altuve and Carlos Correa. But it was a couple 24 year olds jorda and Alvarez and Kyle Tucker, who really carried this lineup. What did they bring to this team brand? A lot of offense, like you said. I think when you look at the Astros, it's easy to say their window is closing. And then you look at your donut ores and Kyle Tucker, and you can counter with, well, no, it's not. These are two young, terrific players still coming into their own. Alvarez, what makes him so dangerous is that he doesn't have a weak point. You can pitch him inside outside up down. He has proven that he's able to hit it pretty much anywhere on the strike zone. And that's important because he's also a strike zone hitter. He's a very disciplined hitter. He's what you may call a new age slugger in that he can hit the ball out of the ballpark, but he's also going to be very selective. And Kyle Tucker has a lot of those same characteristics as well. That to me is why Houston is set up, not just for this year, but for all the years beyond that as well. Well, that's the flyover of Houston, so let's move on to the braves. Last week, we had David O'Brien on our show to talk about how resilient this team is. And we saw that play out in game 6 against the Dodgers. Can you help us relive the drama that we saw in that last game? There was a lot of drama in that last game. And I think you look at what the braves have been able to do and Dave O'Brien is right there, but able to overcome adversity. And probably the real turning point in that game was when Luke Jackson was in the game. Really struggled. And down the left field line, that is a fair ball. Coming into score is Taylor. And it's four to two and the Dodgers have two in scoring position with nobody out in the 7th. And Tyler vaccine came in. This was a guy who was out of baseball because he had the yips. He was afraid of being these big situations. And a few years ago, magic was pitching an independent ball. He couldn't get a job in baseball. Now on the biggest stage in his career. And that is where the game turned around. One and two. Strike three. Maxick. Burns off the edge. Struck him out. For the second out and for a guy who was crippled several years ago with the anxiety of being on this big stage. A guy who came so close to quitting baseball to be able to go in and attack with an upper 90s fastball. That is where the game was won. He's a half dozen hitters he won up in this situation. Bets is on that list. And a half dozen pitchers you want on the mound right now. That magic is on that list. What a matchup. Here's the no two. They kept the Dodgers from scoring, and you started to believe after that that this could be Atlanta's year. You talked about Valdez meditating, then you see matzo taking deep breaths before every pitch of that ending. It's like these two teens are kind of meant to play each other for even just this meditation, deep breathing moments. Yes, I think more people need to realize the power of the mind and the power of your mental self and you're seeing it now on these big stages. These guys take deep breaths, even when they aren't meditating. You see it in the batter's box. You see guys fiddle with their batting gloves and they're not fiddling with their batting gloves. They're resetting their mindset. They're trying to put things behind them and valdes put it perfectly that no matter what happened good or bad in the previous inning, he takes it he thinks about it and then he throws it away. And I think that applies to every pitch, every out, every aspect of baseball and really in life as well. So the very zen Tyler Matic came up huge as an unexpected hero in that series. Offensively, the hero for Atlanta lately has been Eddie Rosario, who was named.

Fresh update on "amber" discussed on Write About Now
"Well, this is a brilliant story I recommend that everybody read it. It's really your in cold blood. It's very powerful. And I also recommend that we read more of your work. I mean, like I told you before we start recording, I kind of fell down the Janna rabbit hole when I saw the kind of clips other clips that you've written your reporting is really amazing. I particularly recommend the one about the cult in Alberta. The guy who stares at you for one hour and you can see God and have all these transcendental experiences. But let's talk a little bit if you wouldn't mind because how you become who you are in your career and how you started and why crime. So let me first ask, you know, why crime reporting? What about true crime or that this beat appealed to you? And how did you get involved in it in the beginning? So I got involved with it because the crime or the court reporter in Regina had vacation time. We asked me to go to court. I didn't fare a bit of breaking news before them. But that's when I had moved to from a smaller paper up to Regina's Saskatchewan, so bigger city, more crime and covering court. And it's interesting because from the time I was a kid, I was just, I'm just someone I've always thought of like bad things, you know, if I was a kid with my parents going somewhere in the car, I would think, I would get worried thinking what happens if the car crashes and, you know, my parents die or I die or there's always really worried about things like that. And so when I got asked to start covering court, it was interesting because my mother said, you know, I don't know if that's a good fit for you because you're so you think way too much about that stuff anyway. And I think it might be really upsetting for you. And what I found was that I really was drawn to these stories. Because I had spent so much of my life worrying about the worst things that could happen. And in court, you kind of see the worst things that can happen. Right. And you want mystery. Yeah, and what does that mean? What does it mean if your whole family dies in a car crash and you survive? And maybe you were driving. You know, I've seen several cases like that now. What happens if your child is killed? All of these what ifs that I wondered about, you see. And you see not only how horrible they are because truly some of the most beyond the most awful things I could imagine. But then also there's these really amazing things that I had never imagined. Like how truly strong people can be, how incredibly resilient how brave. And so for every case where horrible things happen, you truly see what humans are capable of. I guess in the worst ways and the best ways. And I think of a horrible murder that I covered that was so, so upsetting, but how the victim's mother responded. And not only for herself. And in that case, but how the way she responded has affected so many other families grieving losses. And that's the kind of thing that happens again and again. So it's interesting because crime reporting was traditionally seen as the lowest form of reporting that The Rookie does, and then when you have some experience and some chops, you move on to something really respectable like political reporting. That's where this idea of if it bleeds it leads comes from, which is such, I think a derogatory way of thinking of crime reporting, which is that the public only cares about these stories because they're somehow some kind of bloodlust or something. And so we give it to them, but that's a bad thing. And it's all of our baser instincts. I don't believe that at all. I think if we believe that humans care about stories of other people, which, of course, we do, because that's what TV is and movies are and new stories are is that we're interested in what other people do and what happens to them that crime stories are the most pure and extreme examples of that. So they truly expose what the human you know, the heart of a human can be in sometimes it's terribleness in its incredible beauty in its strength in its many manifestations. So and I think the sum total of all of that walking away from all of these cases, despite some of them being so truly horrible, is that I leave those things being really amazed at humanity and what people can withstand and how people can find beauty, even after such ugly things. So yeah, it had really the opposite effect. It's made me feel a lot better about life and actually a lot less scared. I still think a lot about bad things that can happen. But it's made me a lot less scared of them because it's like I was always afraid of what was behind, you know, the black door. And I've opened the black door and I've now spent 20 years looking into the black door and you know, there's some bad stuff in there for sure. But there's also beautiful things that I couldn't have predicted. What are some of the things looking in the black door, some of the beautiful things that you can remember that you can share that might surprise the listeners? Tell me a little bit about what you meant by that story like what story was that and what was the murder and what was the hero sort of figure that came out of that? Yeah, so that was a young woman named amber Redmond, who disappeared from a sort of roadhouse bar. She left her purse. So, you know, a woman never leaves her purse and it goes home, right? Right. Made no sense. So it was suspicious from the beginning. I think she was missing for 5 years before they found her body. And she had been horrifically murdered by two men, assaulted. And those men essentially watched her mother and her community grieving and searching for her for all of those years. But her mother gwenda, you know, I remember from the earliest days of the searches and then the anniversary and then the years that followed gwenda's.

Cowboys Kicker Misses Two Field Goals in Dramatic Loss to Buccaneers
"I i don't think there's any way of getting around at the tonight. A loser for the dallas cowboys. Is greg zero line. Let's let's your thoughts your thoughts on greg's Let's see here one second. This is a hectic night. Obviously greg line just amber says. I'm so mad right now on facebook. i'm with you. I get this. You know an anthony says not the same defense Tony says push off definitely a push off there at the end cowboys losing. Because the buccaneers drive. If somehow missed the game drive at the very kick a game winning field goal which just about no time remaining cowboys. defense can't stop them in the cowboys. Defense i will say kind of was a little bit of the same old defense. We didn't get you know a defense that was just allowing the bucks going on and on and on and on but this defense did get four turnovers tonight. But if we examine those turnovers. I think the only real authentic one was the demarcus lawrence forced fumble demarcus. Lawrence is definitely a winner tonight. I think demarcus lawrence was awesome. But the first interception the cowboys had the trayvon digs on was a tipped ball. Off of leonard fournette. Yes that counts. Yes that's true. Yes that count statistically but you know that's not necessarily your defense making a play on the ball cowboys also got an interception on. Tom brady at the end of the first half throwing a hail. Mary trying something before the half. That isn't really count. Although jordan lewis certainly had valiant effort trying to run that back and get some points You know the last turnover. The one that kind of turned the game around a little bit. That gave the cowboys. an opportunity. There at the very end Was just kinda. Chris godwin you know running into devante. Casey's helmet those things aren't necessarily You know something. You can replicate on a week by week basis and so for that reason. It's hard to give the cowboys credit. For all of those turnovers it was a different type of performance at the exact same defense we. I think we definitely saw some improvements. I think that mike parsons played moderately. Well i think that demarcus lawrence has mentioned played while randy gregory was on things But this was. I mean man. What a rough game for anthony

Let's talk some uncommon inspiration my uncommon inspiration this week is the zack snyder. Cut of the justice league before our black and white version called. Justice is gray. You probably know by now. If you've been listening to me talk for any amount of time that. I am very very drawn to things in black and white for a number of reasons not just personal preference. But i think that there's a lot of elements and contrast and shadows and composition values that you can see in black and white that you may not otherwise see in color being distracted by color so when i found out that zack snyder actually always at. It's in black and white. It was a really intriguing idea to me to see his his vision of this movie. Not only i'm cut and exactly the way he wanted it but also in black and white. So i wanted to check it out and see how it was and honestly i prefer the black and white version. We watched both versions color and black and white and i think that there are just things and elements and emotions and sort of intent that you can catch when washington in black and white that i didn't quite see in the color version. The color version seemed a little bit. More no let us genuine. I guess is is what. I felt but that is my uncommon inspiration. It was just really interesting to see something like that. It's sort of like the the movie version of making sure. Your logo works in black and white before you put color in so that is always really close to my heart. And zack snyder. Great job

She's ted so if i didn't catch on us now at ten that by the time she's twenty and she's going to be like oh okay. This is what's happening. I'm having thought which an i'm having this feeling on. Being a lot of people cannot recognize that really fast. You're not used to game. And then and then we move into future focus goals. What do you want. How do you want to think and zeal and what you have to do to change. And i'm home. Has all of that in right coaching and just really walking spring out with everyone and helping them this breaking all down so kind of went back to the that pivot point of figuring out. This is not what i want in my life. Or maybe i want something different than going through those beliefs. Do you feel like it's easier to kind of just spot on no. This is what. I want to change in my life whether it be finances career. They can't go after an apple or why haven't they already gone after the goal and usually there's a thought that's connected to why they haven't gone after that goal yet and then at what point do you feel like because me back up a little bit. I you know when you're talking about like what you can accomplish in five years. I think a lot of us are like amer. I'm already forty waiting until i'm forty. Five does not appeal to me. I want it now. And i think that you know that's where some of us get stuck as we want it now but talk to us a little bit about like. How long does it usually take to start feeling differently. Oh i mean not making us wait five years now i mean i let me tell you. I've been working with a client for five weeks. And she's like i've been telling my friends she's like because being that i've never done before and i've been reading more and more about thought were inches like the way that you lay it out. She like really helps me to see it and she said it just makes me so much more aware i want to do it. And in the end you kinda realize that you have more control over your result than you realize and so that is changing so once you realize that everything can start changing because if you keep staying in the mindset that everything's happening to you you're gonna feel stock but the moment that you can start realizing okay away. I can change these results. I can have different thoughts about him. I mean you could be changing the way you do things the way you think the way you feel. I mean in less than a month high. I mean so. You don't have to wait five years. I'm just saying there may be some goals that late. You're kinda like well. If i want to make you know five hundred thousand dollars you may start really thinking about like. How am i gonna do that but you can. Change thoughts feelings really quickly. Which thin will set. You ought to just handle light completely different. I mean the amount of information that i learned since january is insane. Like i feel like mind has shifted now. That's not to say that. I don't feel like you know things happen in my life and a tiny get stuck in solving. But i'll tell you my brain moves out of it so much faster. There will be something. Maybe somebody says something jimmy and find my brain going somewhere really quick. And then i might. Whoa like like okay. You need to pull back. We're maybe before. I would sit in that for a very long time and be upset of the person's fit or invited or did she mean or i know. Now we're now in my go for a few seconds and then i just grab it while you're really just letting your can i run away with you and i i don't know it just feels so much freer to be able to do that and not just be like wow. I can't control any of this. So i guess this what it is and so. That's when i knew what i say like this can happen pretty quick and so the that my client has been with me five weeks and she feels so much and she's made so much progress is pretty easy. That's awesome. that's so. I have been so of watching you really step into what god has called you four for your life and to see all of your past experiences really lining up to provide launching board where you can really support people in the most amazing way and pour into their life in the most amazing way and it's just been incredible to watch to watch you kinda do this and to be who god really created you to be so. "Decisions that i want to be making. Yes so so good and you know the thing. I love about what you were saying to members that it really encompasses so many different things like it can encompass your body it can encompass your career path. Just what you're doing with your time. I know for me a big thing for me. This year is what am i doing for fun before fun for me was like playing with my kids. My kids are now like teenagers so there lake will mom. I can play with you when i am done doing my things and so i'm like okay so i need to find my own fun because i sit here and be like oh boohoo. My kids are older. They don't wanna hang out with me anymore and you know what i don't want to live that life either. I wanna make sure that i am. I'm really feeling fulfilled. Enjoy and having purpose and every season of my life and i know you have some tips to help us kind of walk through this and however we feel like something needs to change whether that's our health or a career or whatever it is so talk to us about kind of that first step when we realize okay. This is where i am. I needed something about it. And i wanna throw their to this french. I a lotta times at forty. I think people really started reevaluating. Their friends like are they keeping friends that are toxic and there are the people that they really should have. Let go or are you realizing you need to have boundaries. And i think you're coming into this okay. I don't think he'd do in medicine. I don't want to drive these people with me along lies and also you may find that you're friends with people who the kids weren't in preschool together. You're doing mommy things and now you guys are all going separate traction and you may realize oh. I need different friends. Was we know friends for a season or for so many and so you can apply all of this to money and confidence and friendships and all that kind of stuff. So i wanted to put out there before we jump into this but really everything starts with the thoughts that you're having until you have thought about something. Everything's pretty much neutral. It's the thought that you have is what creates like a feeling in increase action. So like what i work with with my clients is breaking down their thoughts and then creating a list of about set created maybe an unwanted desire or causes unwanted actions and results. So you think about it later. If you keep having a certain thought always this example. Like i never gonna lose weight. And then i just think that's really frustrating and then my actions are well. I'll just keep idealism. Wait anyways or i'm just going to watch netflix. Because am frustrated. And and then all the things that all these actions than which produce a result that i don't want which is then keeping me. I'm not losing weight so just kind of late. Show you like in a very quick snippet what that looks like. And then we had uncover beliefs so you go from odds and then you think about the beliefs what you believe about like your life and when you believe about yourself and then what do you actually believe about your dreams coming true because i need so many people are so afraid like oh. I don't really want to believe that. Because what if it doesn't happen thinking really won't set. You ought to get where you want to go. And then just of also like what do you believe about your ability to kinda create what you want which kind of goes along with james country and what. What believes. do you have for creating the results you want in your life. And so that's kind of like where that's were had uncovering while your thoughts are what your current beliefs are and then we can move through. What new thoughts do you need to have sitting down. We can brainstorm that thoughts. You wanna have writing them down at applying those not so a lot of people are again. I'm just trying to think about that. But you really have to write it down and you really have to look at those every day or just kinda slips your mind. I mean our brains get filled with so much random. Stop that it. You don't have that in front of you every day. And that's why having a coaches. I think really important because you have this time. Set aside for you every week. That's just about you and as moms. We do not get that. It's like about everybody else. I mean yesterday. I was trying to do. The podcast. air knows ready to cook dinner. The rice was cookie. And i like running back and forth. Gonna mike okay. This isn't working very well so to have time that you can have someone just focus on and help you figure out your goals and not have to think about do. I need to ask them how they're doing. And how are their goals. And how are you feeling. No no you can be completely selfish. And that's what you're there for and so we kinda just figure out your thoughts and then you have somebody that's kind of holding you accountable throughout the week and then meeting up for the next appointment so before we go into the next piece of amber i do want to mention one thing like as you're talking about these thoughts in the beliefs. Yeah and how those things are tied together. I think that you know it's one of those things that we've talked about this before. It's so easy to be like you. Just think about your thoughts beliefs. Come from those thoughts. But i think what makes it really difficult sometimes for people and i just want to bring this like into the light so people realize so when this happens to them. They're not like what's wrong with me. Is that when we are so used to running away from those thoughts or running away from feelings. Don't feel good right. That's that's why we overwork. That's why we overeat that's why we overspend. That's why we we do these things so that we don't have to feel these feelings. We don't have to face the truth of those thoughts or those beliefs and how they came to be how they're actually affecting us and so when we start down this process i know just for my own self of really being able to think like. Why am i thinking that thought. Where's that come from like. That is a difficult process to do. And sometimes it ends the most uncomfortable thing in the world and you just want to run away from it and as we call so in my training we call that buffering so but for he's anytime you're not allowing and processing emotion like you're you're like no don't wanna do it and then you would rather resist it but then you end up getting to where you want to go so really ges. Lau and really emotion is just ration- i think we make it so scary like ono like i don't wanna feel the sadness or anger and it is really a vibration her body and if we could just learn to be like okay. Okay we know this isn't gonna last forever. Just trust that then you can just move through it and then the more you can do it. It gives you more. Heaven is yeah. I got this i can do is no problems. You're not scared of the emotions that are gonna come up and you don't feel like you have to run away. Yeah dan. that's so good. So my question. I wanna ask you amber is so being someone who has gone through this journey and knowing that there were times that you're like oh i don't want to set your infield as i just wanted to go away for people who are like thinking like yeah. I'm i totally relate to the fact that i need to tip it in some way shape perform. I need to kind of reassess what i'm doing. Make a different plan going forward but as soon as you start talking about like feelings and emotions like i just seems like a whole lot of stuff that i don't want to deal with times. It's better just to keep it underneath the rug and move forward. What would you say to someone who's who's kind of like. Is it worth it to go through this process while i guess mushroom ask. That person is whatever you're doing now is working for you so if you're putting it under the rug is working for you and most of the time if they're thinking about this it's not working for them because that thing is going to keep coming back up like until you really processes and work through it and so you may not be ready to do it by adding of.

See if it's a good fit and if this is something that you wanna do and today we're just gonna be kinda talking about three tips to kind of you move forward and create the life that you want. I know so many of us especially women in their thirties in their forties. Then they're pershing possibly that they're trying to figure out what to do with their lives. Maybe their kids have gone into kindergarten and now they find themselves home and they're kind of like one of my doing now that the kids aren't home or maybe your kids are off in Off to college and you are experiencing empty nest syndrome. And you're kinda. Like what am i doing with my life. And even if you're not experiencing any of that you're kind of like i want something more I'm living alive too small and you know i want to go after certain goals or i wanna hit my weight loss goal or i want to get more fit and healthy or maybe you're just kind of in debt and you just don't know where to start. I don't know maybe you want to work on your self confidence. And you're just kind of like i need help but i don't know what that looks like. That is what i'm here for. This is what my services are for and so the tips that i want to be talking to you guys about today. as number one is you're going to be assessing your thoughts and kind of just understanding where you are what you're feeling and what is missing because there's a lot of emotions that come up with this and it's easier said than done and sometimes we kind of blow these things off. We're kind of just like i don't know. Is this really important like do. I really need to focus on that. But truly our thoughts really make such a huge difference. And i will talk about that with you. Guys in the consultation. But you'll also hear that in today's episode with. When jenny starts asking me questions also number two is creating different thoughts. What changes do you want to make. What thoughts and believes g. You need to get there and again. These are all very important because you is. We have a lot of beliefs that we have in her mind. And sometimes we don't even know they're they're they're so subconscious and they can kind of sabotage what you're trying to do and you don't even know why and last number three is just making those thoughts into action so creating those new thoughts and what do you need to do so like a good example that i'll do is like who do you want to become like. What do you see your future. Self you know in two or five years ten years however far you want to think what are they doing well. What are the things that you need to start doing today to start moving towards that future version of yourself. And that is what. I do. I walk alongside of you. I you know. Let you figure out your thoughts. We brainstorm things. I will give you you know homework. If you want homework. I will give you just like exercises that we can work through and I don't know it's just been really great. I've already started working with clients and just having such a blast. It truly is a passion of mine to help women especially moms just kind of go after the things that they really want. And you guys deserve this. Like i feel like many times. We just feel like well. You know. I don't wanna complain. Our life is good enough. you know. do i really want more my life. And i want to say yes. It's okay to want that. And i want you to go after that. So if you need help if you need somebody kind kinda hold your hand if you need somebody to kind of brainstorm or whatever that's what i'm here for so email me at amber at mom inspired show or if you follow me on instagram you can hit me up. The dm at mom inspired living. And i will respond there. But i'm super excited for this episode. And i think you'll see a little bit of my friendship with jenny. So it's just it's just a different episode today and i just think it will be fun and also hopefully encouraging to you guys all right. Let's go to the show dhamma so excited for you to be joining us for our conversation today because we're talking about pivoting and not in the pivoting sense that you might think. Sometimes we think about pivoting and work or pivoting in the direction that we might be going with something but really this is one of those moments where we kind of feel a call on our life where we look around and we think there could be something different going on here now. Research shows that this happens for a lot of us in the age of thirty five to forty five and there's a number of reasons for it right where it could be that our career is now established or not having to work so hard in our career it could be that. Our kids are not as dependent on us. It could just be the fact that we're aware of how old we are getting and we're looking around and thinking. Is this really the life that i wanted to create and do i want something different as i. Continue to move forward now. This is a big question to ask. you know. there is something to be said. I think i status quo and just kind of taking it day by day however if the holy spirit is calling you to do something different you could not ignore that and so we're gonna be diving deep into this conversation today and to join us on this conversation. I have one of my very best friend. Her name is amber sandberg. She's been on the podcast before. I'm sure if you have listened before you've heard her. She also is another podcast hosts. She hosts a show called the mom inspired show and the great thing with amber is that she's very transparent about her own journey that she has been on and this journey that she has been on to transform her health to transform her career and really to respond to the call. God has on her life to become a certified life coach and so now she's helping other women who are in the same position of looking around and thinking. God what else do you have for me. And this allies. And what can i do to further your purpose that you have for me in. And so she's going to be walking us through how to evaluate when these situations come up and what we can do to move forward now before we dive into our conversation with amber. I do want to let you know that it is not too late to plan the most awesome summer ever. You can check out our planning summer. Awesome tool kit inside of life balanced membership. Over five million the hashtag beatty stat has over five million hosts and mentions i mean this is got an instant cult classic status congrats. Something that no other brand is able to sell. I mean yeah. I wanna talk about that too because you you were working as cosmetic chemist for some pretty big well known brands. Can you share some with us. Clemmie guests laura. Lemaire revlon come. I mean the best of the best. You're the one sort of behind the scenes crafting these products and at the same time beauty stat was a website that you created a blog to help sort of discuss ingredients correct so after working for a lot of those big brands. I felt there was like so many products in the marketplace. I- almost always better served. If i could just create log and review help consumers shop chronics by helping them zandt what what's working. What during this time amber. This is where. I really got to listen to consumers that were shopping for vitamin c. Products but disappointed in effect. That a lot of those products were returning orange round because vitamin c. notoriously unstable and yet and when it turns brown It's not working. It's not as effective corral. Rice just wasted your way. I hate to say it like you one of those practices. We all know that we do. And you spent a lot of money on it and it to run to stop. It's time to throw it in the trash.

After a Year Stuck Indoors, Visitors Expected to Overcrowd National Parks
"One way to ease back into traveling is to find a vacation spot with a little more space like a visit to one of America's 63. National parks. We sent Johnson vaguely Adi to California's Yosemite National Park, which is my favorite. That sounds like your sidekick Amber Johnson vaguely RD to get a bigger TRT and, uh, what was your last name Cannoli Big Adi Adi and Canola Johnson, vaguely Adi to California's Yosemite National Park, which is my favorite. We're here at Tunnel view, and you can clearly see how Yosemite became the muse for pain photographer Ansel Adams. This park has everything from dramatic waterfalls, two towering sequoias and iconic rock formations like El Capitan and half toe during the pandemic. National parks welcome roughly 237 million visitors. About what A year during the pandemic. National parks welcome roughly 237 Million visitors about a 30% drop from the year before. Those numbers are expected to go back up Yosemite preparing for I don't buy that number. I don't think that the national parks had 237 million visitors are in covid. So they say. Normally, it's It's 30% higher. That's normally 300 million. So it's basically the population of this country going to everybody went once. Every year, Right? That's the BS. I understand, Angel,

"Bellis is known for like being very welcoming to families and so i can see how you could have families coming and this would be the most amazing trip to the point that i took a tour and they showed me a room that was set up to have a baby so they had the crypt set up in there. They had all these cute little amenities that could go with the baby and then they had a little step stool for them to be able to get onto the toilet toddlers. They need a little step stool or to get to the sink or to get into the bathtub. And then if you need this little The little tub for the baby inside the big tub. It was really cool to be able to see that. And so i was like. Wow they really make it so easy for you to bring your kids. They even had little robes for the kids. So you see the adult robes which i was experiencing in every resort but then to see little kid robes. I thought it was so adorable. And i could just see my youngest wanting smoothies every day and by being all inclusive have to think about it. Right you don't have to think about what is the cost and you could be sitting at the pool and enjoying whatever you want and you've already paid for it so for me. I can see where doing the all inclusive at grand palace is truly amazing and the food. I'm going to tell you. The food in my opinion was as good as montage and the resort patrick. Also at that point. That's the only ones that i could compare to. And i thought wow. I am so impressed with food and the drinks were amazing. I'm not a big drinker. I will say But they had made an avocado margarita. And i thought that sounds so weird by going to try. Because it's so special. And i really need to try these drinks because i know that. That's what people like to do when they go on vacation personally me. I like to drink coffee. So i like to have coffee drinks. That's my jam But i'm like. I'm going to try this and it was delicious. It was it was amazing and had known for my agency owner that he said that they use top shelf liquor and all that kind of stuff that a lot of the other resorts you will find that. Just even feel a little bit of your drink. You'd have to drink four to five drinks. Where at grand bellas. You only need to drink one. And i didn't even finish mine So anyways it was delicious though..

"And i'm going to put pitchers in the show notes that you guys can see one. I'm talking about and also if you do. Follow me on instagram. You can see where. I posted the pitchers and maybe get an idea. But i don't know if i posted the bedrooms for all of them so i will do that in the show notes. Okay so going back to resort patrick. All their rooms feel very mexican so it feels like traditional mexico and it has all those different colors and it's really exciting and festive and definitely not modern. So if that's not your jam that might not be the place that you want to go. So it feels very fun and their bathroom was humongous. The room is humongous. The balcony is huge. Everything is amazing and a fun thing that they do is they will bring you chips. And guacamole and to coronas before dinner which i thought was really cool and they give you a tequila. A bottle of tequila in this really pretty it's almost like a porcelain bottle. The blue and white bottle. And i just thought that was really cool so to be able to get that you know those little extras make a difference and i will say montage because it was our university when we walked in. They had a bottle of champagne for us and they had this beautiful chocolate cake with. Gold flecks in it saying happy anniversary. And i just thought that was awesome and the cake was so delicious and i say that i think todd was eating breakfast one day so i'm gonna throw him under the bus for that now just joking. He can get away with that. He can get away eating breakfast. He has a fast metabolism so anyway so sorry to be bouncing back and forth. It just jogged my memory. So going back to resort. A patrick goal loved the balcony. It was amazing they have. They have adult only pools as well as well as a family pool. So i think it's great my opinion with resort patrick. I probably wouldn't do a family vacation there to me. It feels more of an adult. Only not to say that there won't be kids there. But that's just my feeling that. I would just i would go with my spouse versus bringing the kids so just to give you an idea okay and then the other thing that's cool about it is it's right by marina and so it's safe enough to walk down to the marina. We did not have time but if we had time what they would use drive you down the tunnel to the gate and then you can watch them marina. We totally would have done it. I felt comfortable enough to do it. And that's what. I think is neat that i felt comfortable to be able to do those things if i had more time. Staying at the resort like for the whole week. So then i'm going to move onto grand velez so grand. Bella is the only resort. That i went to that was all inclusive. Now this is where. I send my clients when they say to me that they want a five star all inclusive with amazing food. Amazing drinks amazing. customer service..

"I am super excited to do. Today's episode all about kabo. So if you don't follow me on social media either on instagram at amber sandberg or mom inspired show or mama's living on facebook. You might have missed that. We went to kabo so i went to kabo in early september. We actually celebrated our anniversary wiler there but it was a work trip What had happened is earlier this spring. I had gone to a travel. Dinner here in nashville met some great people that were sales reps for resorts in kabo. And so. I worked out a plan that i would go and check out multiple resorts while i'm there now. I wouldn't recommend this for the average person because touted. I actually got really good at checking in and checking out of the resorts and we pretty much out of our suitcases. But i wanted to do this for you. Guys i wanted to experience several resorts back to back so that i could compare and contrast what i liked about them. What stood out to me. What i didn't care for so that i could come back and report it all back to you guys now. Most of the resource that i stayed at were not all inclusive and i know that there's a lot of people that are all about all inclusive and it's a deal breaker if it's not but i do want to say that there's a level of customer service and a level of food quality that you find when you go to an not all inclusive resort. Now if you want to go and nothing about anything then yes all inclusive is the way to go and i did go to one. And it's one of the roads -sorts that i send my clients that truly is a five star resort because a lot of resorts to say that they're five-star and they truly aren't there more of four star and so if you care about that stuff then that really does matter when you were trying to figure out where to stay. So i'm going to back it up and i say that a lot of people that when i say let's go to mexico because we're gonna get their biggest bang for their buck. They are concerned with safety. And i wanted to be able to go to cobb so first of all. I've never gone to kabo. I've gone to cancun several times a long time ago. And then we have gone to. 'cause amal and puerto vallarta on a cruise so we were only there for a day and even that that has been a long time so i find that a lot of people from nashville anyways. Go to cancun because it's a pretty easy flight. So i wanted to go to kabo and see what that experience was like and how it's different than cancun and how. I felt safety wise so that you guys could see that. I'm actually going myself. And i do.

"Again. It's far out there. My travel buddies. They did this. And so i got to see all these videos pitchers you guys. The water still is at your waste. It is so shallow so they're like they would get down from the tiki bar. You can sit up on this platform. You can get down in the water and it's still so shallow so i think that's so fun so that's just something that you can do the other thing that i wanna point out on. If you love food these resorts are a must okay. So the short hop has the country. Oh my gosh. The ambiance to the country can't even describe first of all. There's almo entry in the middle of the restaurants. So that's why it's called almond tree. It's indoor outdoor and then the furniture. Just the whole vibe is amazing as you have to go. Even if you're not saying at this properties you have to go to the almond tree so it has southern comfort food. I was able to try a lot of food. They put it out so that we can all try it so we can have an idea. Mac and cheese was delicious. There's breed cheese. There's i mean there's so much food. I mike what did i even eat. I had serpent her. It was delicious. Desserts are to die for. They gave us so many two houses of desserts. So i got to try so many things inches. The food was top notch and then staying at the poems. You have to try to fried conch. Like i was kind of like. I don't know the sounds kind of weird but it was so good. I had steak mashed potatoes and green beans and both of the places. Dessert is so good. And this is the thing. If you love bread and pastries then these resorts are for you. Because they have their own pastry chef so they make chocolate croissants in croissants for breakfast and and then they also have this amazing sour dough and if akasha for dinner so good. I love me some carbs and i love me some bread. Okay so that alone. I want to stay there so on the other thing that i wanted to tell you do too so if you guys want to do more adventure and all this kind of stuff there is companies that will take you out to little island. So there's an iguana island and it's like a four hour trip and there. They provide like sandwiches like wraps and drinks ltd drinks and stuff like that on the little boat and they come pick you most likely they pick you up from the resort okay And so you angle snorkel and can take you to an area. That's like the third largest reef cool and then you just get back onto the boat. They drop back off. And so if you're looking to kinda like get away from the resorts and go checkout some things. There are some great things that i can help you figure out those excursions. The other thing too is if you want to go check out. Different parts of turks and caicos. You can go to middle. Keiko's you take a ferry and you have to rent a car..

Why Amber Ruffin Is Late-Night Comedy's Trojan Horse
"I never gave late night. One half of an ounce of thought because it just never occurred to me that that might become available to me ever because it wasn't even like there were different kinds of white guys old. That voice belongs to the very talented amber ruffin. Before becoming a host herself of the amber ruffin show on the streaming service peacock amber was a writer and performer. On seth. Meyer's late night. Show on nbc. The first black female late night rider for a network late night. Talk show right. Yeah oh a lot to make me. But i i think it and now in her own late night entry the amber ruffin show on the peacock streaming service embers ascension is a development both hugely welcome and stupefyingly late in the game as recently as twenty fifteen a talented young woman. A talented young black woman pondering her career options did not think about. Maybe taking a shot at getting into big time network late night. Tv because looking around at what was on every screen she happened to take in. She saw nobody who looked like her both as a woman and a person of color and she was right. Maybe the least diverse of our lives. So i never thought okay. There will be some room for me here. Not not ever the history of late night. Television is filled with great stars. Big laughs and tons of memorable moments virtually all of them associated with white men. There have been exceptions. But any analysis of the american genre known as late night tv would have to conclude it has been limb different from most other american cultural genres until recently.
A$AP Rocky Calls Rihanna "The One"
"Asset rocky is finally confirming his relationship with riana. he tells g q verse. That being with riana is quote so much better when you got the one. She amounts to probably like a million of other ones now when acid. He's ready to be a father he said. If that's my destiny absolutely. I think i've been an incredible remarkable overall amazing dad and we have some breaking news for you. An amber alert just went out for robin thicke. That thirty three year old apparently ran away from home as article on went to print. What wait is scary. it is true. She is packing her bags. Like she is in lifetime movie and she is leaving. Okay key might change her name states. All it's a new identity for robin by the way we have been waiting for this album for like nine years. Here's another nine years. He just messed it up for us. What do you think the scare her away or do you think she liked loves this. Remember how she was when drake kind of can profess his love. I feel like it. It backfired so i'm nervous for him. Oh i don't know if that's like it seems like she. She plays it cool and she's gonna love this. She actually told vogue magazine in print that it was one of the most uncomfortable moments of her life when drake is professing his love at the vm. As for her to the entire world. So i think it has to happen with the right person. I'm not sure that drake was the one for her. And i think that we've all been in relationships when someone has maybe been a little too clingy verbal about their love for us. But i think if she feels the way that feels about her then. There's nothing better than having the won. Also confirmed that to the whole world

"You guys. I'm super excited to do this. Series on style at any size. One of the reasons. Why i wanted to do this one because i love style so back in the day. I'm from michigan. So it's the motor city. It is not the fashion capital of the world. If i could have gone anywhere. I would have gone to design school but i probably would have went to either become a stylus a visual merchandise major. Where you're kind of figuring out what the storefronts should look like in the windows and all that kind of stuff how a store should be displayed or possibly a buyer Loved all of that stuff. But that's not how my path went and and here we are talking on the podcast and you guys are listening to me So things always work out right. But i do have a passion for that and i have a passion to help women especially moms that are struggling to find their style because they may feel like they're not the size that they want to be and that can be any size or you may be dealing with a body part. They're just like this is so hard to find the outfits that i really love because of abc or d. And so. I wanted to do these. Do the series. Because i'm going to break this out into little nuggets. Okay so that you guys can just pop your earbuds. Listen in the car or doing a workout walking cleaning whatever so that this might help you think a little bit differently in regards to style so the other thing that i wanted to say is if you didn't hear me announced that i am actually getting certified in life. Coaching and weight loss coaching. I am doing that. And i want to pair the stuff that i'm learning life coaching school and style. Because here's the thing you pick outfits out for people but if you don't get to the root of why they feel like they don't deserve to have style or they don't feel lake they should be investing in closed for themselves or their tolerating close not fitting then. It doesn't really matter if you pick out all these great clothes for them because there's something that's going on. There's a thought that they're having that is keeping them from living the life that they want to live in looking the way that they want to look and that is where the coaching comes into play. Now i know that all of you are listening to this. You may not be able to afford coaching. And this is why. Like doing the podcast that you can hear this for free. And i always want to give you guys value and create content for you guys but this is. Why decided you life coaching. Because i want to be able to help you. Guys at beyond the podcast. So if you guys you want to if you want to set up a session where i'm hoping you a style as well as figuring out what might be holding you back. I would love to do that. All you have to do is email me at amber. At mom inspired show dot com and i would love to set up a session with you.

Superfast whatever may be and then we just think oh life will be rainbows and daisies and it. won't it really is about the process. And i want to leave you guys with this because for those of you that have kids that love to play. Mario oldest is nine and we're playing. Mario i got them. "You guys. So it's kind of do an intro. When you are the only person doing the show today but i wanted to give you a heads up so kind of give you an idea how this episode is going to be. Because it's completely different than how my other episodes have been one. Because i am doing solo episode and interviewing someone also. It's going to be totally casual so you just kind of almost need. Imagine yourself like if you're listening to a facebook live. You know how people are just kind of like talking and it's just super casual. That's how it's going to be. Because i wanted to share what's been going on with my life and what i'm up to and so it's not gonna be as structured and it's like as if we're sitting having coffee and you're just kinda listening to me share with you. What's going on in my life. So i wanted to just give you a heads up. I hope you enjoy it. I wanted to let you guys know that i'm always thinking about. What do you guys want to listen to like. What are you wanting to hear about. So i want you guys to reach out to me for real like i know people say that but i really want you guys to reach out to me. I wanna know how. I can make your lives better. You know what are the topics you wanna hear. What do you want me to talk about. What would make your lives. Easier more fulfilling. I want to help you like you. Guys are the reason. I do this show and so if you want to reach out to me you can reach out to me by email. If that's easy for you. Amber at mom inspired show dot com. I really care about all of you when i'm really thinking about what to do for the show. I'm honestly trying to think like. Is this going to help you. Guys and the more that i know about you the better. It is for me to help you guys. "So it's like who is coming up with these ideas and then the other people are like wait cannot even for this and how do you budget all these extra gifts? And how many kids do you have faith in supplying that by all the teachers and it kind of gets a little bit insane because you're like, I don't know but then you don't want to be that parent who seems like you're not appreciative and like oh, you know, I don't want to give you anything because you know, I don't care but that's not even the case and so it made me think about it when you were saying You know that we we might just have more more money these days and so it looks different, you know, and so but then at the same time it can cause more stress and I think that even the gift-buying especially to like teachers and stuff like that and all the teachers out there. I love you. So don't think that I don't but it is interesting. Like when did that turn? And when did that change I've experienced the Sky loan nine. I've experienced it since she was born. So it's been going on for at least nine years. And so I don't know where it changed from us growing up to our children. I have I don't know. So but even that can just get a little bit like stressful because you're like, you know, some moms will make things look so amazing and so elaborate and it will be so cute and how long they did and remove these. Well, they can't give cookies now like if you made them cuz of covid-19 decorated q and they did all these cutesy things and you're just kind of like and here's my gift card off. You know, you know what the teacher probably appreciates the gift card. She probably does. Yes. Yeah a lot exactly different gifts. You know, we have to remember that so was were talking about going to remember other people have talents of making cute looking cookies. If I try to make a cook a cute looking cookie. No one would want to touch it like yeah just wouldn't happen. You know, it looks scary exact so long that there are other things that I can do to contribute to show my appreciation that that does better suit with the talents that I have and I think that that's important too is that we think about when we're going back to holidays and we're playing in for all these things to really think about what we actually can do what we actually enjoy doing just because we we think that like, oh, this is what we should do because everyone else is doing it or it's what we've always done. If you don't really enjoy it give yourself permission to say I'm just not doing that right? I agree. Yeah, so that is a really good point and off. I'm keeping the show shorter because I know it's we start going to the holidays that the moms are going to have less time to listen. So I kind of want to end on this journey. I know let's going back to the planning. I just think about like the systems in our lives, right? So, how about you share with us? Like what you think in regards to your life rocks what you believe in the balance in regards to systems and planning and see what that looks like cuz I think you talked about that in your sanity course. I think you have like three main points. Is that correct? Yep. So when we think about balancing really it's important to remember like we're all busy we all have a ton of stuff going on and balance is going to look different for everybody. So how balance looks in my life is going to be very different than what it looks like in Amber's life or or anyone else's life. But when we think about in order to have balance possible, there are three components that I believe are necessary for just about everybody else..

"Standing next to people. I have friends in the medical field. I have a girlfriend. Who's on the front lines? She's the director of nursing for two hospitals and saw this coming for quite a while and they had been putting measures in place. And so you know I was talking to a girlfriend of mine. Who's a practitioner? And I said I I have a friend that I that I really WANNA reach out to. And she said sit on the driveway. And there's this beautiful and just put your six feet apart. Don't completely separate yourself from people you have to do your due diligence and and put in motion the guidelines that we've been given you we still have to be there for one another. Yeah Yeah I was thinking about. I have a friend that has a birthday this month and just be sitting in my car in her on her porch. I mean like as way more than six feet so you know just things like that you know is just that trying to figure it out because yeah we can go through this a couple of weeks but like I I mean. How long can we do this without? Actually seeing other people and I mean I get it. We face sandwich. Thank goodness for that. I mean I cannot imagine if we did not have the technology that we do Jay. I mean we would already lost our marbles but It's it is amazing that we have that but you know hearing people's voices and then but then also just seeing them you know I it really. I think that's the thing that's GonNa make you think twice when we come out of this and that's a question I wanna ask you I have two questions before we end. And if you have anything else you want to add feel free but I wanted to ask you. I know that you are really good about building a community anyways and staying on top of that that is a strength of yours which I always appreciate but you know when you go back to normal life though. What are some changes that you think you're going to implement that you have seen through this timeframe That's a really good question. Here's something that you guys should know when you come to me. Asking for an all inclusive have ninety percent of all inclusive is actually in Mexico and so You just have to know that in the back of your head that if you're wanting a an amazing all inclusive you're probably GONNA and have to go to Mexico but besides that point book not all inclusive. That's why I wanted to do the Kabo episode. But I do the Caribbean I do Mexico. I actually just booked recently. So we're going to jump into this. The reason why I wanted to do a Disney cruise episodes because I feel like Disney cruise line is amazing and I went last year and I felt like I got a lot of people saying like oh my gosh. That's on my bucket list. I can't wait to do it. And they would ask me like how was it. Was it worth it and so I just wanted to do an episode where he kind of talk about this stuff you know. Especially Ashley is a travel agent and I can help you with this and come alongside of you but I wanted to give you a little bit of information so you could figure out if this is the right choice for you I put Out On facebook and instagram. Not that long ago asking a question about Disney cruise lines. So this is what I said. Have you ever thought about going on a Disney cruise. I'm getting ready to do a podcast on the topic for those that have never been. What are some of the questions that you have? Or what is holding you back from booking one so here are some of the questions you guys had. I would be interested to hear. About how small and claustrophobic the rooms are. And how good slash safe are the kids clubs. Also how crowded are the pools. Another person said I would like to know the benefits to doing a cruise versus a Disney resort for a Disney experience also a cruise versus Disney cruise line so a different cruise line versus this is Disney cruise line and then also people would say. I don't know about the price you know. Is it too expensive. Can we afford this as at worth that and then the last question question I had was what age do you think kids are too old to get the most out of this and I love all these questions. So I'm GonNa Kinda to just go through these and then I'm going to go through my experience last year so I went in two thousand seventeen with my kids. Were three and six just to give you a gauge of of my references. Okay so going back to the first question. Would it be interested in. Knowing how small and Costra phobic the rooms are so if you've never been on a cruise this is going to be hard because if you never been on a cruise you don't realize that the cruise rooms there's they're called sweets are a smaller then hotel rooms right there on a ship so they gotta keep things tight so it's going to. It's going to feel small. But in comparison to other cruise lines. I would say they're pretty equal. Generally what you see is used to get bad a pretty good sized bed okay queen or king sized bed and then you have a couch and then you have a bad that comes out from the ceiling which let me tell you that was my girls. Highlight it one of the highlights of the trip. Which is hilarious on my okay? We can probably try to figure this out somewhere else not pay for Disney cruise line ships so It comes out of the ceiling so it's like a bunk bed feeling so it's like the bad turns into. I mean the couch turns into a bed and then another bag comes from the ceiling and then you have a ladder. So that's really awesome. Awesome now if you have a family of five. Then you're gonna want an adjoining room because that way you have a double space. There are suites so there are suites. If you just want bigger space like just more living space but if you're looking for more beds it's you would probably want to do the adjoining room and so that way you have two doors that open up into each each of the rooms right so then you can kinda keep them propped open open so he can just go between the two. So that in itself helps with being claustrophobic like just having to living spaces that you can kind of walk between and so that that is really great and if you have a family of five that is what you need to do and so if you have a family of four then you can decide if you really need to have a sweet or four if you need to have two rooms spread it out but in my opinion you're not really in the rooms that much. What I would actually recommend is to get a verandah which is a balcony That gives you the feeling of not being so claustrophobic. It has a whole wall of being a window and so that way. You don't feel like you're stuck in a cave or something like that right so that is my recommendation. If you feel a little bit like you're going to be Costra phobic then you definitely need to get verandas and then that way you can step out onto the veranda breathing. Some fresh air not feel stuck. And I love the Verandah anyways because as you can just sit down and drink coffee or you can have a glass of wine. It's just really great and so And the thing is to some people might be like. Oh my gosh. But what about the railing and the kids will. The railing is high up. I mean and you're not GonNa ever let your kids out there without knowing and you just lock the door you know so So that is is my suggestion for people if they kind of are worried about that. But if you're really worried about the in general then you kind of need to think about cruises altogether because you're going to run into that everywhere you go right like the railings. I have never felt unsafe with the girls. So that gives you an idea but you are the only one who knows your children so but I just wanted to paint that picture. That I've never felt worried about that. Okay so that's kind of the claustrophobic situation and the size of the rooms. The next x one is how good safe are the kids club. I'm going to go into this in a minute because I'm going to go into more depth so let's have about. How crowded are the pools so with any cruise line? The pools are not humongous. Because they don't want all this body of water in the ship right like if it just be splashing around so so you're not going to be finding like a humongous resort pool. There's only so much space and so you have to know that that is going to be busy. Especially when it's days at sea see The Disney dream. And that's where that's the ship. I went on for four nights in the Bahamas cruise. I should have said at the beginning. I don't know why didn't so it's a a four night Bahamas cruise going out of Port Canaveral. And so it has the aqueduct so as a cool waterslide then has a smaller slide for just kids ads and My oldest Skyla. She loved the the smaller one. Actually and then there's also an adult pool. That's really quiet so if your kids are in the kids club I say go over to the adult pool where it's actually really quiet and calm. So that's what I have to say about crowded pools so the other one is dewey cruise versus a Disney resort for Disney experience. Okay you guys. If you've never been to Disneyworld then and I feel like you need to go to Disneyworld. Okay like they're very hard to compare Disney cruise line does such an amazing gene job of making it feel like a Disney experience. I mean they. They have a theme in down. They have the hospitality down. But it's not a it's not apart though right so if you are wanting to experience the rides and all that kind of stuff then that is like. It's trying to compare apples apples and oranges. I will say though what's awesome about Disney cruise line is they provide a three and four night cruise cruises. So what I would do. If you're interested interested. Is You do the resort for a couple of days and the parks and then you get on a cruise and relax from running around at the parks all day. And if you've been to the Disney if you've been to Disneyworld you know what I'm referring to you when I say Oh this will be nice to relax relax and just take it easy from you. Know just doing the craziness of of Disneyworld disneyworld resorts with kits. But if you're just wanting to really experience Disneyworld and you've never been I say give that go. Oh I and then I would definitely do a Disney cruise later but again if you WANNA do both they have the three tonight three to four night cruises and then you compare it with the resort -sorts and that's called A Land Sea package so.

"And I don't even know how they made it and it wasn't disgusting it was actually delicious and so Their food was so good. Their pool food was so delicious. I ordered HAMAS and vegetables and corn chips and then one the time we actually went to one of their restaurants and we could have it delivered out to the pool so todd got salmon. I was really wanting a burger at this point. I don't know I really wanted wanted to American food. I got a burger with fries. It was so good and we got tros with caramel sauce and chocolate dipping sauce. The pool and it. It was so good like it's not your traditional pool food it mean it's just really amazing yummy food that you wouldn't even realize you are at an all inclusive and so I feel like with families. This is an amazing option to go to and they had a cute little playground and for the little ones and a little splash splash pad area for them to plan and then we also went to the teen area and that was so cool. There was all these video game systems that the kids could play on the teenagers. They could have candy bars. It's like a display of cakes and stuff like that for them. They can play air hockey. There's like a dance party thing going on in the back and I mean there's just so much fun things for the kids to do. I just feel like a good blend of you know having adult time and kid time time and you can put them in the kids club so that if you wanted to go to dinner just with you and your husband or if you were to go with like other couples or your parents and just wanted adult time I think it's it's amazing and so I just really loved grand villas and so it just made me feel even more confident to keep sending people there and I don't know it's just awesome and GRANDPA's you can upgrade and get a plunge pool if you wanted But the balconies are humongous. I mean you have like this bed and these is two chairs and a table. And they're all ocean view. That's what I love about. Grand Velez in Kabul is the way that they have designed the hotel every room. You can see the ocean which I thought was really cool. One thing that I noticed too about the beaches so like I mentioned montage you can swim. Resorted Patriarchal you cannot swim. In the beach and GRANDPA's you cannot swim in the beach but even walking the beaches you have to be careful because the water comes up so high and so so I thought that was really interesting just experiencing like walking the beaches and how that might feel and with that kind of feels scarier. Not and some people. Don't don't really care about the beach. I like walking the beaches and seeing if there's any shells and stuff like that and So those beaches you do have to be careful about and I will. I'll tell you in a minute. The beaches that I felt were less calm. I mean more calm for not being beach. That's going to be my next one and it's Spicer Roy. So just ending on Grand Palace. It truly amazing property. I had so much the food was so good. The breakfast was so good and let me go back to resort electrical so they're buffet. Todd was saying this is one of the best practices I've ever had and it just was it was really really Delicious it's interesting at all the resources we went to if they had granola they it was granola that they all had made. They all have their own recipes and they were are so good and we'll put in yogurt. I don't really eat a lot of yogurt so I would have it with almond milk and it was just so good. Everything was so good and so your eyes were just look at all the Food and you think oh my gosh. I can't eat all of this. So resorted petrol. Their breakfast was delicious. And I would say that Grand Velez was on par. You're with resort petrol and this is again I am saying this is how you see. That Grand Valla stands out over other properties because when their food is as good good if not better than not all inclusive that says a lot they even have a Michelin Star Chef at the Grand Palace which is huge a lot of times. That's why people are even going to GRANDPA's because of that. So that says a lot about a resort and the quality of food. And especially. If you're foodie these are the places to go I I did one in the mornings. We had breakfast in the room so that I could experience how that was and it was great. The food was hot. It was so good I I ordered eggs and they brought me refried beans. It wasn't it was like they whipped it up or something. I don't know it was so good. It was salsa it it was just delicious like it it just tasted so good and I had waffles and it just really blew me away for being breakfast having in the room because sometimes you might feel like going missing out by staying in the room to eat and I really wanted to experience that to share that with you guys and I loved it. Okay so then. We moved onto viceroy. Now Vice worry there's other properties throughout the United States. People really loved one in Chicago what I realize they all very different so the one in Kabo what it feels feels like to me is a little blend of Las Vegas and Miami. It's very chic and very white and Very very modern and they are really about the technology and what I mean by that is what was really cool about it when we went into the room. It's very modern like I said and clean lines and so they have the blinds from the balcony. You can push a button by your bed and those will drop down on so if it's too sunny or if you want the privacy but you still want light coming through you can drop that down and then you can drop your other blinds that are insider room by pushing a button at your bet and then those come down and then a Dr- like a rape comes down for when you're ready to sleep to make dark and then you can make their these lights. That ran along the drapes which I thought was so cool you could make them Turquoise Purple Pink. I Dunno they just made a lot of fun with technology and I thought that was really cool One thing that stood out to me was their pool. Didn't seem that didn't seem. It wasn't as big as what I was familiar with with. Montage and Graham Graham Bellas resort Patrick pools kind of smaller but they have three of them. So I think that helps but Montage Pool seems huge to me. Graham Bell's was huge and so when I compare it to Viceroy Pool is just not as big And some people may not care about that now I will say what I liked about. visory their beach. I felt like we could walk on that very easily. It was like a big beach and the water did not come up as high so you could really walk a really far distance now. Some people don't care about that stuff but some people really do like to walk the beach right like they they. They like walking the beach. They they're like on a beach vacation. I want to be able to walk it. Even if they don't WanNa go in it so I really did love that I will say that their breakfast was also amazing. They had this banana bread French toast and it was to die for it was so good that even got second serving and there was this other EG meal that I don't know what else was in it. It was very Mexican feeling and it was delicious and so Their food was so yummy. Me One thing that I noticed this place is family oriented. But I'm going to tell you what I felt about it. I felt that it's a great place to go with your spouse or to go on a girl's trip it feels very adult oriented to me and it feels very like nightlife like if you WanNa stay up and you you want to eat on the rooftop and there's music going and you really loved nightlife. This is a great place to consider. Because that's the vibe that I got that it's it's kind of like it comes alive at night time. I will say because I checked all the gyms at all the resorts there. Jim was really amazing. So I think you're you're pulling in people who care about their health. They want to stay in shape while they're gone. But you know maybe have a few drinks and yummy meals. But they'll go to the gym the next day work work it off. They had so many different machine. They had the ropes. They had waited sled that you can push that these really cool like when you're doing pull ups but you're almost Wall climbing there. Jim was to me the best out of all of them. I thought to myself I think the people who are coming here are wanting to have fun. But they don't want to go too far off lake working out and staying in shape and feeling good. So that's what I felt about Roy like that's the vibe that I got and and also you can rent bikes and I wish we could have done it. But we were running out of time I totally would have rode my bike like a down the road or wherever it went and That's part is complementary and I just thought that was really cool okay. So moving on to our last resort and that was one and only okay so one and only miata feels like Hawaii as well so grand villas and and one and only feel like Hawaii to me. It's so lush that you have no idea that you're in a desert and their grounds are huge and it's just so much trees and palm trees and bushes and flowers and I don't know what it is about. It just felt really really amazing and it felt like you were really tucked away. You really had a drive into Canada from the main road to get in which I think is kind of cool so because we we went in September there. Were not a lot of kids there. So if you WANNA go to these places I would highly recommend going when school is in session But this is what they said. This is a very family oriented resort to the point that fifty percent of their clientele are returning clients which I think says a a lot I can see why so I'm GonNa go through this our first of all one and only if it blew me away because their customer service to who was so amazing similar to montage to the point where it almost goes making me uncomfortable because I'm just not used to having so much attention and people focused on me you know as Moms we all know this rate like everybody's like snack. I want this I'm hungry. She's hitting me Blah Blah. My shirt needs to be cleaned. I didn't do my homework. And so you're so used to giving giving giving giving giving it gets turned on you even though that sounds amazing. You're kind of like Whoa. I am not used to this. It's like I'm like I don't know what to do with myself. Everybody is hating me either. A drink a non alcoholic or an alcoholic or or they're handing me a tropical popsicle and it just was. It was awesome Mike but it took a minute for me to get used to and what I loved about one and the only is they have a Butler to go with your room. So even if you're going into the entry level realm you get a Butler and so how it works is when you're seeing not in the highest level so if you're saying in a really high level room a- Butler might go between two to three groom's may be where the Butler that I had was going between seven and eight rooms and then maybe there would be a lower level that maybe they're going between ten rooms. I'm guessing guessing so they're not like a Butler standing at your door but where it comes in handy. Is this going to tell you. This is where it's truly amazing. Where if you came here with kids leads it would be a lifesaver? So here's an example. You get the kids all going and you get to the pool and you realize Johnny has left their swim goggles in the hotel room all you have to do is let someone know who works there to say. Hey I'm in this room. Can you let my I butler. No we left our goggles in our swim bag in the room in her closet and they will go. Get it for you to me. That screams luxury tree at its finest because how many of us know that like oh or even better you forget your swim diaper. And you're like okay. I'm going to have to hike it all the way back. Data has to watch the five kids. Or Okay I'll bring some of the kids or maybe Dad's golfing and you've taken the kids and now you gotta pack them all back up to walk back as you know you need that swim diaper so I mean the the fact that they have thought of these things to me. That blew my mind. I was like Oh my gosh and I think a lot of times people would think that seems like too over the top like just having that extra hand to help you so mazing and they will unpack your bags now. They didn't do that for us. Because we're really trying to live out of our bags But they would pack our bags so that we can have more time. And I don't know it just really pretty pampered. I would say this is the place to go now. If you don't WanNa go with your kids there is an adult only part and it's completely separate so you can go there and not have the Kiddos with you you and feel like you are in a very romantic vacation. The SPA area is very isolated and feels very calming. And there's like these little pools that you could lay out with the hubby and stuff like that. If you didn't want to go with the kids they also have a kids program so even if you WanNa have that time by yourself love with your husband Uber them in the kids club and they have a cool playground in the back and one of the girls was playing a game with one of the kids and and it just seems like an option if you wanted that but truly is a family oriented place but there is separate adult only pools from the family and I will say that their food was delicious and we locked out because there weren't a lot of people there.
