"Was, you know, you have somebody now, you know, who's the Jeff Bezos who runs one of the largest companies in the world who is a Liberal Democrat Sebastian, who's saying, wait a minute, none of this stuff is going to work. Yeah, no, this is very significant that you have Jeff Bezos. The owner of Amazon, the third richest man in the world, making fun. Let's just stop here for a second. We've got one of the richest. Probably the richest liberal in the world because Putin's number one, really. You've got Elon Musk who's number two. Neither of them are lefties. So the richest lefty in the world, Jeff Bezos, Amazon, Washington Post, he's making fun of his Democrat president, isn't that something that should make everybody Steve just sign up, go, wow, after 16 months, that's happening to the best administration. That's a certain yardstick, is it not? Look, I think there are a lot of common sense Democrats who we may just disagree with in terms of, you know, some of their ideology, but also have some basic common sense. I mean, Jeff Bezos is a very brilliant businessman. Regardless of what you think about his politics and when you have people like that that have been strong supporters Biden saying, hey, wait a minute. None of this makes any sense. And then what was really disturbing Sebastian was that Biden's response to that was, oh, you just don't want to pay your fair share of taxes. Like, come on, here's a guy who's built a business that's one of the most successful businesses in the world history. He's a pretty smart guy. He knows a lot about business and mating payroll and paying bills. If Biden knows nothing about that. And this was one of the things that I always said, you and I talked a lot about this. Even when I didn't agree with Donald Trump, and I agreed with the most of the time, he did understand business. He knew how things run and operate. Biden has none of that. It's all just this kind of left wing ideological re torque to every question. So let's break that down a little bit. So without getting into wonkish territory, specific, very special indices, let's talk about the last 16 months. So will you give us the blow by blow because you wrote, you gave president Trump, you know, the guidance to create what was the strongest economy, not just for America, but the strongest economy the world had ever seen. And it looks to me and I'm not doing a conspiracy theory because this could be the result of just sharing competence. It looks to me as if the last 16 months is just a dismantling of what president Trump and advisers like yourself created. I mean, I don't see any area where they got it right. So talk to us about what they have done and what it has resulted in, which is affecting all Americans. So I'm going to give over three data points. It's a great question and just to summarize. So just hold these three, three data points in your mind. The first one is inflation. When Donald Trump left office in January of 2021, do you know what the inflation rate was Sebastian? Tell me. One and a half percent. One and a half percent. Now we're at 8 and a half percent. And by the way, if you want to make people really angry, say that inflation 8 and a half percent, I've been traveling all over the country. People get so mad at me when I say, they say it's not even a half percent of it. 70% more for gasoline. I pay 50% more to eat my house or about 5 air conditioning. I'm paying 33% more for food. I'm paying 20% more for household items. The things I have to buy, my inflation rate is 25%, not 8 and a half percent..

"Thank you so much for being here. Love getter loved the platform. And you just released a memo out of the fec's rulings on twitter over the whole hunter biden laptop which we all know interfered with the twenty twenty election one hundred percent. What are your thoughts right off the bat. There's a lot that i wanna talk to you about a no. We've only got you for short time but but you just released that out. What are your thoughts about that. Vc's ruling there. I'm fired up. This shows where the deep state definitely wants to work against conserves working oats like president trump And they wanted to build side with big tech. I mean what we saw just to be clear. Graham was we had the hunter biden laptop and then the twitter Decided to put a complete ban on anybody talking about even reporting in the new york post. It was publicly out there. Twitter said nope. We're not gonna allow anyone to see it in after the election. There was a poll done by media. Resource research center one out of every six biden voters would have either voted different way or considered voting different way if they knew it but that biden family gripped and corruption The half-century franken. James making money off selling access of course wears hunter and his trip on air force to and Burris ma and all the other things and this was all verified public knowledge and in fact even the fake news amazon washington. Post just backtracked and said. Oh actually. the top story was real after they'd been sticking label on anyone who dared to say Hunter biden maybe was dabbling in some Extracurricular foreign dealings. Yep so so. It's crazy to me. And now that i'm actually in the political world running myself. What a lot of americans don't realize to us i. It's like insanity like how can people not find this to be a big deal but but a stat that you just said there. How so many americans would have voted differently head. They just heard about it. What most people don't realize even in a presidential election the majority of voters don't even really have any clue what's going on until about forty five to sixty days out from the election in the first place especially in your congressional races etc so that's why them censoring. That report is actually such a big deal because there were so many americans that legitimately didn't know about it which is crazy for us to think about because this is the world that we're in but that is why it's so terrifying. What is going on with big tech. And that's why. I love what you guys are doing. I'd love to give you an opportunity to talk about getter a little bit. A lot of people really got hurt with or not hurt dismayed with parlor and everything that happened with parlor in all the above what separates getter from parlor. What what what what keeps getter from not having the same thing happened to them to you guys that happened to parlor of you know in your own words for americans that were just so disheartened with the whole parlor incident. How has gathered different. Well two things one. We do have a robust and proactive ration- policy That's in place. That's something the parlor did not have at the time where they were platform. And what that means. Is we work with both in ai component and with human moderators to make sure that there's no illegal activity don't have kathy griffin The headless Decapitated president trump. You don't have let's say Some one hundred biden's more explicit pornographic videos right on there. Which i think. That's obviously you can't do things like you know racial epithets or religious epithets but that way we can always protect political free speech. And i don't think that most people in their thinking of free speech or political free speech. You're like oh. I need to go and show A isis picture of beheading with they wanna say is i want to talk about the election. I wanna talk. What's going on with voter fraud. I will tell you what's going on with kobe. I wanna talk about how the government is saying one thing when signs showing another they wanna be able to express themselves. They want to take on cancelled. Culture want to be able to say if they want to watch sharon osborne and roseanne barr to their hearts content then. They don't think that they should be deep platforms or censored. What we've seen from twitter and facebook is you have essentially this digital jail that you get put in or even sometimes worse And you know grandma. I'm sure you've probably even got some of this. They throw the label up facebook. Does this instagram does this. Twitter would do with president trump when he was still on the platform yet saying weren't warning. What you see here might not be accurate. Or if you want the real information about cova go to here. And people are sick and tired of these big tech oligarchs telling them what they can and can't think yes sir. I wonder what your thoughts are with this. I you know the irony is not lost on us that we are where we are today because of big tack in social media but i especially on the campaign trail. I talked about this a lot. Because like i said a lot of americans because we're in this political world every day it sometimes gets lost on us that the everyday american doesn't exactly know what we're talking about all the time i say on the campaign trail a lot and i truly believe in even in my books i talk about it. I believe that big tech is the single greatest internal threat that we're facing in america right now and a lot of that you know. A lot of people could argue will know the democrats in office or the left or baba ball yet. But they're being fueled empowered by big tech like they're allowed to say whatever they want to say and conservatives are not. oh i'm cure one. I'm curious your thoughts on that. D do you believe that as well with me. It's okay if you will but to. How do we fight so many people that i speak to on a day-to-day basis. They want to be able to have these conversations and they want to be able to challenge authority. Because that's the only reason the first amendment was written in the first place was to protect the people that say the things that you don't agree with everybody can agree. You know we shouldn't beat children. You know what i'm saying like okay. That's not really a contested speech. You know there's nobody out there going. Yeah you know we should we. We should do. Nobody's saying that the first amendment was written to protect the people to go. Well you know. Why are these doctors saying this about covert but we're only allowed to listen to dr fao chee about covert On on the internet. Why is that. Do you think that big tech is is a gigantic threat against the american way of life. Right now absolutely and you know much of my first twenty twenty. Five years in the professional workforce particularly in politics. I thought that the democrats ran everything they were in charge of the media. They were in charge of The big businesses and the company is what i found out. Certain point was most of the national democrats aren't quite smart enough to actually go and run anything true So so that's i. I knew they weren't the the the mad geniuses when you talk about big tech. They truly do control everything they control media. They control the democrats And they control what we see what we don't see The way that Even take facebook coming out and saying that they will come out and say the information leaked out of the fact that they have different standards for how they moderate content absolutely. Now it get a better. We have one policy As far as and one policy applies to everybody. Here's why the facebook policy of having kind of a a white list so to speak. Here's why that gets dangerous. Because if they're willing to be subjective when comes to moderating content Ostensibly everyone that facebook is say Supports accusers An opposes revenge born for example. Well here's a prominent example that the wall street journal maps out brothers International soccer player who posted this revenge more and it was up there for twenty four hours and they allow to that because he happened to have a big account but if facebook's willing to be subjected with enforcement don't enforce it's not that much of a leap to then say well you know we don't really need this one president trump guy on our platform or You know what we don't really need to let people read about this. Hunter biden laptop story so once they start gone on that path. It's a slippery slope. Yeah so for the further listeners. Here and for the viewers when you say that one thing that differs differentiates getters platform from when parlor. Was there as you have the moderations in place and you do. Have you have certain things that are not allowed hate speech etc. Things like that moderation is a word right. Now that's got a lot of people things when you guys say moderation. You're not talking about censoring people's different Differentiating opinions you're talking about. You have very set specific list of things that are not allowed on the platform and and that's it correct. Yeah and so. Let folks know there somewhere in the neighborhood of Forty forty five categories. I'm getting a little bit more grayndler. But i think it's important your audience realize so for example. We have this debate when we were talking through With afghanistan with the carnage that we saw and where we drew the line as we said look the actual act for example the actual act of killing somebody Whether it's a.

"For 2021. Ladies and gentlemen. The Washington Post published a column. Coming for cable companies to shut down Fox News News, Max and one American network, You've got one of the largest, if not the largest newspaper in America. The Washington Post. Remember, they were the ones that have the commercial with Tom Hanks. Democracy dies in the dark, and now they're calling for cable companies to shut down. Fox News News, Max and one America Wait a minute. I mean, last time I checked there a lot of liberal voices on Fox News, Donna Brazile, Juan Williams, just to name a few. S. So are they talking about like shutting down the entire network Because of some of the talking heads the opinion makers that are on a night like Tucker and Laura Ingraham and Sean Hannity. Is that what this is? A columnist Max Boot. Which that's a total made up name. Right, Max Boot. Um, he was the one that put this, uh Opinion piece out there. Quote anyone who cherishes our democracy should be grateful to the management of Facebook, Twitter and other social media sites. For their newfound sense of social responsibility. We should expect at least the same level of responsibility from broadcast media in particular from Fox News, which has the largest reach on the right. Was he talking about? He's praising Facebook. This is the platform that some of the people that stormed the United States Capitol building used to organize face, But this is the same Facebook that And Twitter that has the Ayatollah allowed to tweet but takes off the president. United States exactly 100%. I mean, this is outrageous. It's e mean you're allowed to have an opinion. And when did the left go from? We want to win the argument to you're not allowed to have the argument because that's where we're at right now. Seems like they've always been there. Gonna crush you. They wanna look what they're trying to do now that they've crushed Donald Trump. Now they're going after his supporters. Now they're going after. I mean, the same Washington Post had a story about how Human on has invaded the National Guard the ranks of the National Guard. We have toe vet 25,000 National Guard members because they're 90% white, and only 20% of them voted for Biden. And so we have to. So we have tol investigate all 25,000 National Guard troops that are guarding the inauguration tomorrow. How offensive can you be? And speaking of the inauguration as we look out here at Monument Circle, everything's peaceful today. There was nothing scheduled for today. But there's even more boards up on these windows. This entire quadrant behind me on monument Circle here in between the Emmis communications building and kind of winding around to the church. Um all of these windows from the old anthem location. They're all boarded up every single one of them. I'm not taking any chances. You know, been burned a couple of times and I look, I don't blame. I don't blame anybody for, uh, boarding up or taking precautions. I didn't blame people when they were taking precautions. When The verdict came down on Briana Taylor and Kentucky or Dre. Shawn read. Businesses were were boarding up then I really don't mean what happened at the United States Capitol was Was crazy. It was lunacy. So I don't blame their for being an over abundance of caution. Now, I think 25,000 troops might be a little I heard Tony Cats talking about it early, maybe theatrical. Oh, sure. Theater involved here Because the narrative is now we need this many because you got awful. Trump supporters and Trump voters might come in here and try to breach the inauguration. Like you did the capital. Well, yeah, not only that, But then you know the I love how the thought that Antifa members Remember when the when the capital happened, the storming the Capitol and the thought that very narrative that Ted narrative in TIFA members posed as Trump supporters and helped store in the capital is downright ridiculous. Those were nothing but Trump supporters. But if you point out or suggest that Right wing Cuban on is infiltrated the National Guard Dynamics. Perfect sense, right? We need to. We need to vet the National Guard because Cuban ons infiltrate. GET Amazons Washington Post has a column today calling for cable companies to shut down Fox News Newsmax one America You know we joke about this kind of stuff. It's kind of the way we do our show. We try to make it fun. We try to make it, you know, light you've been working all day. The last thing you need to do is to be stressed out on your way to or from work. But, man, this is some serious stuff going on here. This is a really interesting time in our nation's history. Because the party that has the power all of it right now, from the White House to the Senate to the house, they're telling you Listen, it's our way or the highway. And if you disagree, you're going to be labeled a racist and you are not going to work again. And we're perfectly okay with that. That's not OK. That's a problem. Man on maybe the president will address that in his farewell address again. It's a pre recorded message. And as soon as it becomes available, we're gonna bring that to you here in 93 wi VC Alan Greens in the WBC traffic.

Trump tells Amazon to 'build their own post office' in latest jab

"Post office is one of the oldest institutions. We have in this country. It's even written into the constitution just after punishment for counterfeiting and before the Armed Forces is an entire article ahead of the presidency. Now President Donald Trump says forget the constitution and maybe let the post office die on Wednesday atop one of the president. A Guy who was the finance chair for this year's Republican National Convention was named as the head of the postal service so trump allies going to run the organization that trump is very clearly to destroy and it seems pretty clear that trump's animist is largely motivated by anger towards the CEO of Amazon's Jeff Bezos because Amazon currently has a deal with the post office delivers packages and the president's beef is not specifically with Amazon. No Jeff Bezos also owns the Washington Post a paper the writes articles about the president he dislikes and so it looks like Donald Trump is prepared to wants to kill one of the oldest institutions in this country for revenge against the free press from warmest. Dave Diane editor the American prospect earlier. This week he wrote out key. Resignation could ease presents politically motivated war on the postal service. Dave let's I guess start with. Who is this individual that is now going to be the postmaster general the US yes included joy as you mentioned? He's the current largest fundraisers the lead Fundraiser on the Republican National Convention is wife is nominee for US ambassador Canada and he's a large trump donor. So I mean this. This is functionally equivalent to putting trump himself. Pretty much in in the position of running this this enormous nations. So you've got running the. There's also the president's longstanding animus towards it. It's been quite explicit. I mean to two degree. That's really kind of shocking. Basically he he bangs on about the washing posting calls in the Amazon Washington Post and then he bangs on about the post office having to deal with Amazon. And it doesn't. It's not hard to add to up to four. Which is that. He wants to screw the post office because he doesn't like the fact they work with. Jeff Bezos who owns the Washington Post and the real irony? Here is that if you if you do at damaged post office. That's not going to hurt. Jeff bezos I mean Amazon now ships their own packages about fifty percent of the time and a crushing post. Office is really going to up. The game Both the logistics at Amazon and also Fedex and ups Oh The only people this will hurt are the hundreds of thousands of employees at the US. Just talking about some government agencies the second largest employer in the United States and to You know threaten their very lively boards over just this this vendetta that you have that you don't really even understand because what you what you WanNa do isn't going to really affect the the the the animus that you have is is really just a bomb so we should also say new you notice. There's the right has had it out for the post office for a while right. And and the structure of it has been change over time There was congressional legislation that that that require them to pre fund their pension liabilities in a way that basically no one else has to which has created enormous burden on their balance sheet. What is their current financial situation because my understanding is they are in desperate desperate dire straits there definitely in trouble and what you mentioned the pre-funding requirement literally having to pay or set aside money or the Workers that haven't even been born yet. That will be coming in seventy five years down. The road is is the primary reason prior to the pandemic during the pandemic although package deliveries increased direct mail and all kinds of outfits gone way way down so The postal service initially asked for I believe it was eighty nine billion dollars. They got a ten bill billion dollar in addition to their line of credit Through this cares act and the Treasury Department is actually using this right now as leverage this is why the vice chair David Williams resigned because he saw treasury meddling in the affairs of the postal service using this ten billion dollar line of credit as as bait basically should get whatever policy decisions. They wanted out of the bustle service. Say More about that because that's the subject of your reporting. Yeah so Williams resigned my sources. Tell me that he didn't WanNA participate in what is essentially a fraud. The Treasury Department Was Dangling this ten billion dollars in saying you got the union concessions. You have to obviously raise package delivery race on Amazon You have to install a certain people in charge of the postal service and we see the the result of that today with Louis Joy. This trump donor being put in charge. So that is my understanding why David Williams resigned and he didn't WANNA participate. You've got a situation you've got a situation treasury. Has Ten billion dollars credit they're in desperate financial straits and MNUCHIN is Treasury Department is using that as a kind of as leverage to get the USPS to do the kinds of things that are the the focus of the president's vendetta including then we have this political head who's now been put in charge of USPS as we come into an election. We should note in which may be extremely vital that we have mail in voting right. I mean the we saw what happened. Wisconsin there's a of fear about what happens in the fall particularly if we have a second wave like there is there is a fundamental democratic role for the USPS to play here. That could be more important than ever

The new wild and crazy life of Amazon's Jeff Bezos (The 3:59, Ep. 518)

"Welcome to the three fifty nine. I'm Ben FOX Ruben Jackson. So Jeff Bezos is public life. Took an interesting turn Amazon's founder and CEO has maintained a mostly positive image as a press shy. Geek, but on Thursday night, his personal life spilled out onto view after he revealed an apparent blackmail plot by the National Enquirer supermarket tabloid which was threatening to publish his racy pics, including if I remember correctly, a below the belt selfie as they described it that he sent to his mistress. What's going on? Like, I I guess to connect this to the fact that like we work for CNN and not a fellow tabloid. What are your thoughts about this like as far as like, how does it impact bazo side as an impact Amazon like anything about that definitely puts basis on the forefront of a lot of different kinds of discussions national security discussions because the Trump administration is all wrapped up in the whole national fire thing Muller investigation is all wrapped up in the national choir thing, so it takes basis as a gigantic figure as the world's which is man. And also, the leader of one of the most powerful companies takes them all out of being that like large figure on tech stage and make some a larger than life figure on a world stage dry, politics and other other issues, and he was connected to that. That's a great point. He was connected to that initially through the Washington Post, but the Washington Post and Trump was kind of at loggerheads with bazo so ready to begin with about Washington Post's, cover. Edge and calling it the Amazon Washington Post and all this other stuff. But this really does seem to insert him into these long term other controversies that Trump has been having to deal with it. So so that is definitely a weird thing. The other interesting aspect is what is due to public persona at this point. And I wrote about this on Friday. He seems to be enjoying a really nice PR coup. Everybody could have been talking about as racy photos. What about his judgment? What's he doing yet as long term marriage? And now all of a sudden, he's sending photos, basically, dick pegs to his mistress. Like what's going on here? And I it seems like he's really presenting himself as a hero at this point. I think a lot of people it's been fun. And I shared that you notice this being Amazon's reporter that at the same time. There are a lot of sort of like who knew that I would be unjust as aside for like totally flipping the script on this attempt to blackmail, the richest man in the world, which I don't know how is that was to begin with. But it's happening in the same. People are sort of there's a noise at Amazon in New York City still over these two there's annoyance at Amazon over this tipping only going into base pay for drivers issue. So there's a lot of reasons why people there's there's a kind of public relations thread that's negative towards Basil's on a lot of other fronts, but this because it's such juicy lurid stuff. The main thing we are talking about our mix. All right. Let's change gears completely Joan you a chance to test out the magically a argh Lassus Sundance. You watch something called the a jester's tale using the schedule. Can you tell us a bit about the Justice tale? What was your right? It was really weird. I did three experiences magically Paulos at Sundance two of them were made by magically on the third was this gestures tale experience that was made by a guy who does other other AR experiences in the past. But he doesn't work from Ashley if you're just using their technology, and it was really weird. It had like this YouTube pop star in it named poppy who like her her brand is just being aggressively weird. So if you know anything about poppy, you get a sense of just how strange this experience was there was a live actor in it. A little boy who was trapped behind the trash behind a wall. And I had to choose whether to kill him or kill myself. There is a live actor Graham, no hologram. And then he was also alive actor. Well, they. Yeah. So there were there was a floating ball park that magically helped with there's like a floating ball of dots. That was an artificial intelligence that was doing reverse turing test on me, it was trying to determine trying to do testing me on whether or not I was human and asking me questions about stuff that these what are called volume metric assets, there'll be holograms of people like this little boy and his mother and poppy would stand in this room. And I'd walk around them. It was no none of this really is your sense of what the story was supposed to be like in this entrance. It was super trippy. So it's hard to it's kind of hard to describe. So the cost of this had side is two thousand two hundred ninety five dollars considering that very big price. Do you think magically is going to be able to really inject a lot more enthusiasm into the world? Right. I mean, they can even termed this first addition of their device, a creator addition it's designed for people like Assad who made this experience to get their hands on it make weird or crazy or interesting or tearjerking experiences. And then they can have magically to magically three something. That's a little more accessible, that's the idea. Anyway. Anyway, if you want to read more about these stories check us out on I'm Ben FOX Joni laws. Thanks for listening.
