Excuse me for gnc. We could calm as i lose. My voice jhansi. Weekly dot com slash. Connect i the first episode of the new year. Happy new year. Everybody took took a two week break. with the holidays and years. And it's been going on Then a quiet well. I wouldn't say quite because people not gonna talk about because what happened the first few days of the new year. yes and welcome to december. Thirty ninth twenty twenty right for so many reasons opera exact at least of which is that for us. The new year usually starts with. Cbs like mental right. So it still doesn't feel like it's a new year yet because we're not in vegas and we're not going to be it's never gonna feel it can new here right twenty twenty more twenty twenty and i think you know. I mentioned the todd. When i was working on the show i said i asked him. I said Queen at dover right. So there's not a lot of lot of news logitech news this. We ever hold for next week right exactly. So there's a little bit of news we're just gonna go over very briefly And and also we'll be talking book. Go over what's going to happen for us upcoming week With the tech podcast network. Along puckett's live is going to do a live streaming coverage during the week. So we'll we'll Deliberately in on that and a little bit in the meantime we're gonna there's labus he s news not much but we're going to get some other news that maze them. They'd on the top newsweek. And i not not the one that anybody's thinking about because you don't want to get into that. That is a minefield interested in exactly. So i mean you can go online. You can google it. And what have you informed opinion. So yeah this is you know it's not it's not the spaceport but all right so the top. The top stories of this week is a i. T mobile has announced adding adding five point. Six million net customers during the two thousand twenty t t mobile revealed its Preliminary full results They say that's the most customers added in history. Mike siebert t mobile ceo says quote our focus on bringing unmatched value experience a customers while building and delivering the nation's best fired. You network paid off with record-breaking breaking results in twenty twenty five g leadership position is getting stronger. Everyday t mole said. It's quote ultra capacity five g network. Now which is one hundred six million people. According t mobile this times more than brian's dodgy coverage although the carrier's us although the carriers used different use different radio different radio waves for their five networks and speaking of rise. And they're going to have their keynote on monday about five g but this is good news for t. mobile. I mean they've been you know they had the the merger as you say it's important to remember that this does not include the merger Right because at at close of business the last day under the sprint the official sprint brand. I think it was fifty. Four point nine million customers on spread so obviously this does not reflect any of that. This is this is simply new. Sign ups so. That's that's impressive. i am. I'm curious on the details of it. Because obviously i'm curious Pre pavers post pay 'cause obviously prepay has higher churn so Post pay is better customers to bring in. I'm curious about some stuff like that But either way you know that that represents one point four ish percent of the us population. Yeah so i mean that's that's impressive now. Of course there. There's people like me that skew. Those numbers right because i've got multiple active lines so it's not necessarily one to one but but yeah i mean that that represents if it were one to one that represents about one point three five one point four percent of the us population coming on his new New subscribers that's impressive growth but also t. mobile's approach is with what talk about five g or the past. Excuse me over the past. Few months t. mobile's not really is not really they're putting commercial about touting five jeep but they're not they're basically going or holding back on On holding back under claims. I mean if you call them claims their gun shy from four g. Exactly exactly they spent like a whole year lying about having four j. and they kept getting called out on it. It's another gun shy. Jesus i do it this time right and they got called out on it and they had to retract. Shows claims t mobile number attracted by the way they didn't know then. But i had over the past few months from i would say when the back in the sprint merger. Some is actually but sometime last year where they had to go through the fcc the doj and You know been hard pressed to you. Know to get things done right and good on them. But when into with a talk of five g over the past few months to really kind like they've been putting things out there commercial i've seen you know about the on the five spectrum turpin so i'm happy they're gone on them. I mean again. There's five she there me so i will tell you. I was surprised when a when a company sent me a new device. I was surprised to find out that sitting here in the studio. I actually get five eighty at. At and t. It's not a lie of the number it's actual five jay at the ana the sprint slash t. Mobile network. i get it. I get it sitting literally right here where i am which works out well because i can't get my own wifi and in the studio so sometimes i have to switch over to the to the five g and i was shocked to find that although in fairness we were the first the first of three tests markets for sprint four g so i guess maybe not that surprising it was it was uh us l. a. And las vegas because the monorails were all yellow. It was crazy and goes back to and we go back full circle. See yes that would have been. I was there like april of two thousand five ish may when did corey get married So like may of two thousand five and the monorails were all bright yellow spread. Okay okay and i'm thinking yellow. What the hell okay. Yeah got yeah. They had just changed her their their logo because they had just bought nextel and they're making a big deal above the new logo and They had they had just launched wimax. And they're making a big deal about that. Monorails were all bright yellow weird. And i've actually got us sprint. Max banner up in my office just as a reminder even the big guys make stupid mistakes Boy all right well. Let's dive into other news. Another milestone Apple has announced that the app store that apps or customers spent a record amount throughout the holiday. Season apple says it in total. The app store has generated more than two hundred billion dollars per delivers the app store lawrence in two thousand eight. I like to amend that to publishers and not developers enough apple says that the apple says that apple app store customers spent one point eight billion dollars on. It'll good and services or the week between christmas eve and new year's eve on your day apple says a customer record five hundred forty million dollars in the app store Eddie cue apple's senior vice president of internet software and services says quote now more than ever accustomed around the world have had have found inspiration diet and the breadth and quality of apple services which have impacted their lives and big and small ways every day where we were incredibly optimistic about where we're headed and we believe that opportunities developers and creative communities are endless as are positive and meaningful benefits to our customers so once again. I have some questions i would. I'd be curious to know how much of that was on apple stuff and how much about it. Some third party stuff Five hundred and forty million or one point eight billion. You know a lot of that could be you know the new services that just launched right. Because they've got the new apple one one apple but whatever apple one yep subscription plan and stuff like that so I'd be curious to know how much of it. How much of that is apple. And i'm not counting the thirty percent apple tax. Just flat out is to apple services. And how much is that isn't third party services because they start right. He liked the beginning of his quote is The breath and quality of apple's services which suggests to me that that it's imploded chunk about five forty and also they've been david in causing they didn't really making waves across the Making waves with them acquiring which my wife. God bless her heart and made disappointed that the peanuts special and halloween social on apple tv plus and not on. Abc been for twenty plus years. So i guess durling relate in fairness they made them free to everybody to be a subscriber but true but i do have a device that was capable of levy right. Now we've talked about it a lot when it comes to. Hbo max Lot of people have it right like this. Tv sitting next to me And may not know it. They may not know that apple. Tv is available on roku right right Broke who would later. Are we going to talk about iraq. Was they got no. Actually it was different roku by a story but it's more on We're gonna talk about their acquisition while we're in there okay but but yeah limiting stuff like that. Classics to to a certain platform is always a little weird. What i mean sesame street right up somehow now has deal with. Hbo max which is only inappropriate. Maybe it's not maybe it's manson. As a whole. I know. I mean it might be bigger than the just that might be. Jim henson as a whole. I can't remember whether whether the contract lies so it might just might not just be children's television workshop and and jim henson. That might be all jim. Henson stuff i it's it's i it is i think from what i understand from what i saw. I believe it's not really the. It is henson's production arm because it has because yeah it's it's it's arm not necessarily the. It's bigger than that okay. Yeah so yeah so. It's bigger than just estimate street. There's more than sesame street. It's part of that deal. And that's a little weird but right but yeah well the reason why the reason why from what. I understand the reason why it was on. Pbs because they got so much flack from people because before it wasn't there was no mentioned on pbs. But then i was watching the keeping island news and there was people are upset but then i think a few days later. They relented on pbs. Well on a they had to. Because children's television workshop is publicly funded. Exactly right they could not legally not have it on. Pbs but that's a whole different op But but yeah apple. Apple had an uphill battle to fight right when they started plus They had had a lot of an. And if we're not gonna you know what if we're not gonna talk about this and roku will now you know we've seen a lot. We've seen a lot of companies come into the space and a lot of companies have struggled right. Hbo max has has struggled to find footing. They've found some clever ways to try and fight it and clever can be sinister but they found some clever ways to fight it And then there's of course. Our favorite company to joke about was quimby right right that that tried to get creative and went theoretically went the way of the dodo exempt roku purchased queries content today right. Yup that is going to be coming to the roku platform which once again a lot of people have it sometimes accidentally case here now noise me to no end. That is on this thing but yeah so y- apple was going into an already crowded space that has gotten more crowded since And so they had to do certain things they had to be super aggressive to take that unbelievable amount of cash but they are sitting on and be super aggressive with it and they have been oftentimes to the annoyance of people. Like with charlie brown right. And that's the that was the thing. Because my 'cause i'm massive i mean she was ranting and raving and and super pissed and i explained to her. You know that apple bought the rights to it and you know and to make a good point you know. That's your point that said. No one knows their channel to be honest. I don't even know which our channels and know. What local app do you know on on the guy that the save. But it's all about. Apple's got got the money i know my pbs channel. Do really. it's three. Yeah it's okay it's like it's like new york one right okay. I don't live in new york right. I know what new york one is. Yep you know when something and one and two. Aren't things right. So the our lowest number. So it's kind of our equivalent of new york one. It is our is our lowest number on the dial and kind of. Everybody knows it wasn't if you're that now i'd have no idea. Okay there you go. I came. I know it was on channel. I know for here new jersey. It was fifty two and then they got then they went they went to funk and then company to mail in that got the funk and now now i have no idea what channel on. Pbs here in jersey. So here it. It's like the call sign is literally wcbs. That's either remember and it's three and it's been that way my whole life. Nothing has changed so all right. We're going to be now going to be debate in our channel lineup. I all right so other news again. A little bit of cbs news. It's not much because a lot of companies the past past week or so. A lot of them are under embargo so nothing could be reported on it. Very the news is like really really light So for example. Samsung is has some things that are now saying denouncing in a mobile app called easy cow. That calibrates your Tv's picture quality. There's a a skin and drive. It's an iot device that classifies fabric and recommends care options. They're also backing some start ups which i'm really supporting love to see. Eureka park which story. There's all sort of missing also introducing the frame is tv set that From what added reporting. It looks like it's a it's pictures for artists Not much. they're shocked. The samsung frame the tv. That looks like a picture frame. Okay that's what. Yeah that's what they're saying so it it hangs on the wall and when it's off a kind of looks like art instead of technology which is a nice nice variation. Okay cool product okay. I'm just i saw that. I'm like okay. Sharp is getting bring introducing suite of new smart kitchen appliances that are offering. They offer wifi connectivity and alexa voice. Bill compatibility Lg is coming out with the cord. Zero thin q eight nine compressor plus again with these these pike names so lg has this thing where they will give something a brand name and then they they have brand names for certain features like the pronounced all kinds of different ways. I have no idea what the official pronunciation is. I've heard it said fin q. I've heard it pronounced. Think i've no idea. Which is there a platform. So they feel the need to force that into the name. And then there's then there's a model number a nine and then we'll throw some german in there too just because with the compressor with a k. Plus plus all of this is to say it's a vacuum Exactly how many words to say roomba right. sorry right yeah. I just Some of the again. This is the light stuff because a lot of things have been announcing. Whoa announce until until monday's prostate. So lot of stuff is gonna be announced again. I tried see where. I'm working on our on our show the primary thing. I'm trying to pull stories. And i'm like there's like very very light again excluding you know name not be mentioned like so. They're intimidating for example. Tv's samsung sony is now saying micro micro. Led tvs which we saw which we saw seattle at at the press conference last year and Samsung sony lg all talk about it too but none of them ready to hit the market yet right. Tcl has like eight models out right now. i think my brother purchased one but but yeah i i think that's going to be Like that's the next jump up from lead. Right is the micro led. And i think that's going to be. I think that's going to be a big thing this year Hopefully it won't be like three d. tv and be a terrible idea. I can't imagine that it would be that that way but anytime there's some new technology with With tv's it can it can either be lead or it can be three slash quantum dot and people will forget that it existed. And you know it's not going to be from what i'm see. I haven't seen anything You know things come out yet But it should be interesting. What what these companies announce also will expected laptops. Pc's a dell's coming out lenovo hp. Acis acer Del they announced their new latitude. Ninety four twenty nine hundred twenty. Lg's now seeing new didn't like graham laptops global letter. Lenovo is releasing a new high laptops. So really somebody made. Somebody sent me an email. And i don't know if i can talk about it because i don't know where it is so i'm not going to say. Yeah just yeah just a hold on hold so basically Do you want so the tech the tech podcast network and it's lives coverage is Tuesday morning and noni m two time time. Excuse me time. Yep sorry we. I am here. I am being very obsessive about getting that right because most of our teams in the east coast right right right. Let's see is west coast west coast. It always has been always will be. I mean for the last couple of decades at least So we are continuing to live in pacific time for c. Yes right and they go out. I even bold it so people. They received them now right. So it's not a m time to papillon time so that's twelve noon eastern Torpoint eastern. Apm so yeah. Right gotta suck. Yeah so it's going to be we're gonna have There's going to be a link up in the show notes Gonna show notes. They'll go directly to Cas Tech podcast dot com slash. Gs twenty twenty one Or lincoln the in the show notes dhabi publishing. We're done here and by listening by now you probably see it already or coasted. And we'll have. We'll have the stream on our facebook pages twitter. Where else youtube pages on that as well so have. It's now the interview lancs. If you people don't know that are new to this podcast or new tech or paddock tech. Podcast dot com and a coverage. Each interview is about rough about eight minutes and we bring in companies from all over from one to the other. They talk about the product. We asked him questions on the ability and was used for certain. You know anything and if there's any comments you have let us know you know what questions you have for these. These companies will do our best to answer them. Should be a lot of fun. And i was talking earlier. You know before we came on the air in the past few weeks is going to be different. Because it's all virtual where they won't be able to hand us a thing or sell used to you know yup we're so used to literally like putting them putting a product in our hand and then we can. We can touch it and interact with it during the interview. And that's just not going to be the case here know live demos most were. We don't know true honestly. I have a feeling that we're gonna see more product than usual because they don't have to bring it anywhere. They don't have to travel across the city. Let's products and things like that. I have a feeling we might actually get to see more product this year than we usually do. Okay that's just a guess. I have nothing to base it on okay. But but intuition i'm not gonna i'm not gonna put any bets on this because but i'm but i'm still looking at was joking with todd. In the sky over the past couple of years type came on with the central and being part of the. You know the team. I look forward to it. And i was lamenting the scott. We're talking about this earlier. You know our facebook pages in our memory pages and you know. I'm happy on the outside. But even signed on roy sad and you know and it's being on this team and i expect you know i'll say this again. You know being a part of this independent concert creators. You know to have folks come out. These companies talked to us you know and ordinary people were average ordinary consumers and most of us have day jobs. Exactly yup kinda with todd. Being the exception and even he does it in the same space but he does have a day job to right right but i mean for i mean like i'm like i love to see this. See stop when. I there to there my first time in twenty eighteen. See all this cool stuff and you know and being team meeting the pr people and meeting with and the tech problems were happening. And you know. I mean it was like an then last year. You know being on the team as director which i had a blast Covering working in a seat you know and and just watching all these people coming in showing off things and you know just joking and laughing. Hysterically of all the interviews. That was done. I wish i wish marlee come on. I really hope he does so. He texted me last night at about ten thirty and he says If you watched the interview you'll understand what it is that we're talking about an haven't go watch What was it day. Three of twenty twenty right. Yep he says to me you you got any Toys you want me to do an interview on this year. And i said actually michelle and i were just joking about that. Because they're absolutely as one. And i said that it would be no fun to have them on the show if you weren't doing the interview because all the funding comes from you turning red and he laughed. He says you know when i die that needs to be played at the funeral. I said i'm on it. Anything for you friend. And he s i sent. I sent the email that company to laura decarlo or the one lord. Okay out about the one but even last year. No this no. I sent the email to florida carlo due to come on come on for last year or this year this year this year. Oh you invited him back. Yup yup. yep you know. I can't say what i'm going to say. Also that was so much fun. Though was he had no idea what he was up against. Now it couldn't have been it couldn't have been day three could it because because his sidekick was there think he was only there the first two days it was probably say day to youtube. Yeah it's sir wasn't day one. I know that it wasn't it wasn't what it was day. One no it was. It was day to day two or day three. But i'm pr- probably to it has to be because day three. He had danielle co host with him right. He was by himself for awhile and it was him and danielle it his. I can't remember the guy's name his his sidekick frame day blur he was there for that interview. And i think he was only those first few days so has to be day two yup yup yup but in all honesty i know scott's been doing this for quite for for many years and but but each year the past two years i've done it. You know meeting media. Everybody will have a really good strong connection good relationship. You know friends i. I can't believe you know what everybody and so this you know this is gonna be. It's gonna be weird. Everything i'm still gonna have on. I'm still gonna have fun regardless for sure regardless of the virtual or not. You know but you know next year because i really put calendar next year dates. Everything guy who wake hopefully they. Don't change the dates again. this year. right Obviously they changed the dates this year for different reasons but of course but but anyway okay so the thing that i wasn't sure i was allowed to talk about. I am okay because it sometimes guide. So that's good enough for me. It's it's a A mini laptops from lenovo Called the lavi l. a. v. i. e. that has switched style controllers that click into the side the turn into a little gaming. Pc isn't that interesting. Scratch pretty different. Yeah it's it's definitely interesting looking. I don't know how big it is based on the size of the controllers. I would say it's it's bigger than my surface duo but probably smaller than the surface neo. When that comes out no. I want the surface. Duo is what is six point. Eight inch per panel But this is a regular laptop like this is a windows laptop with a keyboard with a proper keyboard on it. I mean the keyboard is weird because all keys are circles which i cannot imagine wouldn't annoy me but But yeah it's it's an interesting design and you know we're gonna see stuff like that this year right because we've had engineers we've had designers with less than normal and so i think we're gonna see concept hardware at from the big companies at a rate. That is unusual. You know we saw We saw dallas slash alienware. Show off a weird prototype gaming thing last year. We saw razor do one a couple years ago but for somebody like novo. Who's not really known in the gaming space. No they want to do something like this I think we've got. I think we've got designers with less to do the normal better messing around and coming up with bizarre ideas and this is a bizarre idea. I absolutely love. Yeah i never. I never thought of that. So you said it like it. Oh i see us is. It is an eight inch touch display at nine thousand nine hundred. Twelve hundred resolution. Okay so how does that work as for as a gaming like how would that on this the where it connects. Yeah how so like a switch. The controllers must snap into the side. Okay okay okay. Quite get the so. It's like it's like joy cons okay so small that doesn't have track pad but it does seem to have maybe a fingerprint reader between the left and right clicks. But if it doesn't oh no you know what that is. That's a an altered eraserhead. I bet similar to the blackberries that got rid of the ball and had a little track finger track in the middle. I bet it's something like that but it's it's a full windows machine with a dedicated xbox key on it i hadn't noticed that until just now up f nine Is a debt has an xbox logo on it so they're definitely going to be marketing this to xbox game pass ultimate subscribers. I bet because this would be good for older games. I mean it's an eleven. Th gen core. I seven processor. It's an irish xy graphics. So i mean it's it's decent decent graphics modern processor. This'll be fun little computer. I'm going to have to try and talk them out of one of them and it's got a little dock that you can stick it into that makes it look like an echo show. Things is so weird. And i love it. Hey i mean. That's i mean thirty one. Twenty twenty one with a bang something different. Yeah why not. Yeah and like. I said i don't all we're going to see. I think your company's doing weird stuff. And i love. I love experimental. Cbs years air. My favorite with mental years are no fun. The bad scientist you meant that scientists stage. Yeah i i like it. Because i tell me why it's like this but some cis years is very incremental. We don't see anything real like. Wow what is that. And then some years. It's all you see and it doesn't seem like there's a middle ground on it. It seems to be all or nothing. You either have a lot of really unique weird ideas more. You have none but one. This is going to be an all. I hope we're gonna see lots of it. And i think when i again this i've been despite two years while it'd be three but But why went there. Went there Lbc and looking at the boots now for the folks have watched. I took some pictures on a live blog. And i wish live blog but unfortunately it's not but but on a live blog posting photos and video from when i was at samsung and samsung's booth on the booth i mean it was like a mile long like floor. I mean it was like a they call it a city and it was literally like how they had this long wall of tvs. That was like from one and a room. It had been good. Quarter of a mile of my. Tv's all way down to the end and when you walk through lv c. Grew central hall and north hall. I mean i was majority. I was in central hall for a good into fortunate. But i was there. I mean it just. That samsung took central hall least good. Three-quarters central hall with their with their Their literally their city. It was incredible and the see like how they had this one where there's one display where they had it was like the look like the fold Full lable leaves. It was gorgeous. I mean it was just like seeing like all these different s- plays but they really create something. That was unique each year. From what i saw before i go loss to to see over the past buford before enter and the displays and their boots are like put so much time and effort and it's like millions of dollars. We're not talking like you know cheap. Stop talking millions of dollars of displays and products. They want top themselves. Were more each year and we'll why seen it was like beyond amazing. Yeah i was told. A number of years ago when microsoft was still exhibiting that microsoft's booth just just the physical booth itself cost like six or seven million dollars but granted. It's too story. So i mean it's hard to compare that anybody else because right was basically just them and intel but had to stories and now neither of them have a at all which is so weird. But but yeah. I am looking down our schedule. And i'm gonna tell you we've got some really interesting stuff Coming up i. I did it earlier. I'll do it again now because This company nui is actually starting the show off with us on tuesday at nine ten. So they'll they'll be our first interview. They do like not home. Security stuff. is a camera unboxing when we have a gap in our schedule But this is a this a camera that has a three sixty rotating lens so you can actually turn it remotely to look at different parts of your house or your office or whatever pretty cool. There's a company that has made a new like air drive that's allowing that has allowed them to make a little portable mini blender which is weird and wonderful Our friends from trotha are back obviously We can't do without benji lock right. They'll be on this show Oh a monster is going to be on the show again and a shoutout again to monster they are powering Might the new studio here which is pretty exciting. Nice there's A cooking robot. I cannot wait to find out what that means cyber link. Yes that cyber link anybody who knows Cyber link They've got a product called face me that allows for like face tracking. Which is they were on the show last year. We'll get to see how that has changed. go son which is a an outdoor cooking company. My my personal vote for best name is black nut and tastes streaming. It's a streaming gaming platform. Okay i'm going down the aisle. i know. oh. I sent that name in that link to everybody i know but yeah it's like it's like a microsoft cloud products loud. Okay so that'll be interesting Let's see biohacking orb. I cannot wait for this one this from what i can tell. Is you know those. Like big full immersive gaming chairs or like a tanning bed. Imagine that but it something health related. I saw the picture. And i'm like i have no idea what this is but they've got to be on the show package protector or cam. The wi fi alliance is going to be on coal. So we'll get to hear what's coming in the future of wifi six which obviously everybody. Who's a regular listener. Viewer of this show knows you know my journey to re outfit the the office most studio with sakes There's a company that's that's making Vr travel stuff which is pretty cool especially right now Jennifer will be back talking about energizer connect which is Another one of their brands that they work with which is obviously mobile. Products will be back with heart hero. Which i believe is either certified or close to certified for us use. Which is the portable defibrillator. Was i love that product. And and gary is fun to follow on lincoln. And there's robo cents. I don't remember what robo since what's been remember being really interesting. oh yeah. Light are sensor systems for robotics and autonomous cars. I mean if can't tell you we've got a very diverse lineup of stuff from from lighter sensors to mobile accessories at honest to god everything in between Literally i'm. I'm really excited about this year. We always try to make it diverse weird and diverse young. I'm i'm looking at my microphone. Might earbuds my backup. Mike down the camera that we're going to do an unboxing on other earbuds so much of a is all related stuff at. It's it's so funny. A what an impact it has on us It's why we make such a big deal about it because it really does normal a normal year. This year is going to be a little weird but on a normal year it really does have a huge impact. I'll absolutely each year that that the plunkett team wasn't able to physically go I mean there was an incident that almost a negative impact on us. But you know we. We ran all the social stuff From here and being able to save the live broadcast was was wonderful. Just such a such a big impact on on our lives all the time and i think also for me again. There's all this confusion over. What is what you know once being shipped. What's coming from whole foods what. I don't think that the that the need for a special brand for pantry mattered anymore. Because they're not they're not shipping. Usps not shipping fedex anymore. You know it's almost entirely done by themselves So you know the the shipping costs and things like that simply don't exist anymore so it didn't make sense today i. But she's happy for him so all right Speaking of phones Motorola has released four new phones. One hundred seventy dollars to four hundred dollars to reinforce its position in the mid range and for a market three of them are in the quote mode g series as a core offering for motorola while the fourth one is the motorola and five g ace the merge the motor g series revolves revolves around three things addressed the boko. The market's needs and wants the wants in the sub four hundred market maximum affordability mirages play one one hundred seventy seventy dollars long battery life. There is a dedicated though. K sensor in addition to the sixteen sixteen megapixel selfie camera module. So i said motorola's been pretty good over the past few years with their phones and there ever since they became part of novo exactly. Yeah which. I was pleasantly surprised. I thought once. Google didn't want any more i was thinking. Oh mj i'm praying for motos relative. You know breakout and Do well no was a good home for them. Lenovo used to have lenovo branded away for a very short while. They tried to lenovo branded phones. Here it never took off in the same way that the dell branded phones never took off here either but they've been relatively successful overseas so it made sense for them to continue essentially to produce lenovo phones. Put them in a brand that. The west recognized So i it was a pretty smart pairing. We'll see what i've been. I've been using phones ahead. Miro phones or pass for years and the pixel and kind of like you know. I'm kind of like bathing on. I was i was. I had more downs for many years. I'm kind of being on pixel mel. And i'm like i don't know because with raisins bloat wear on it and you don't get the the up the os updates. You know as as on time lake. Yeah yeah so. I'm kinda eight north. They are they do look promising has always been verizon's. Yeah yeah i just like. Oh i mean i understand. They're make they're making everything you know. Is they wanna make you have their butts covering everything that same token it's like you know but i mean. Mj they have the bloat. Wear i mean it is like incessantly. I have to like literally go in and just like clean everything out and it's yeah. That was one of my favorite things about about windows. Phone was that The operating system didn't allow for the installation of locked software right at of course with apple. There's no there's lots of blow air but it's all from apple but yeah android devices are a mess when it comes to that stuff and being able to lock the the software on there. So then you know my. At and t. galaxy s. ten. Let's say i don't know what it is. Has some sports thing. There runs in the background. That i've ever opened. Abram taught me how to tell it to stop running in the background at least by. But it's still in my apples and it drives me crazy. I don't want it there right. At and t. Owns the service does not mean that i wanted on my device and it's vries's been the same way sprints been the same way to mobile's in the same way they've all done it right all right okay. So next stop in speaking of rook roku and talked about earlier roku says it's roku tv lineup tv. My excuse me was the top selling o s and the us and canada throughout all twenty twenty. This is us again right using this using data. Npd data to illustrate the company's powerful sanding. The company said in a press release roku tv held thirty eight percent market share in us and thirty one percent in canada based on available data from fifth through december twenty six twenty twenty maintain elite spot in both regions. Speaking of cas. They're also using a cs. Two hundred twenty one to announce partners for its roku. Tv brady initiative. It will soon be able to release wireless down bars. Roku tv sets roku has a new reference design for the water soundbar which connects to roku. Tv's wifi customers won't have to worry about any links any lip sync problems. I'm trying to read. This as latency is communicated between harbor devices to ensure proper abe synchronisation roku essentially picks the brains and processing for the rest. Ziying believes that our choices like enclosure dying and the drivers speakers sash because used to manufacturers. You'll be able to quickly set up and just settings on these wars sound bars right from the roku. Tv's setting spaniel. And that's you know that the reference concept is a pretty standard one ultra books for example if you've ever purchased ultra book. That's based on a reference design from intel and to use the ultra book name. It has to be based on that On that reference. But you know you've got screens. You've got keyboards and track pads. And all the all the important things are adjustable but it has to be within a certain size and has to communicate with certain things properly it has to support your originally. It happens support usb three or whatever and you know this is the same thing. And it's it ensures your experience especially when you're trying to do roku to roku right so you know you've got you've got a roku tv and then a roku enabled soundbar. You know your setup quake your your usage is consistent and you can actually get help on it. It's the thing that made sony a company originally. Yeah if it hadn't been for them forcing their stuff to talk to each other. Nobody would've ever used sony products once he got any. You couldn't get out right. Oh you want you want to use a digital coaxial between your your dvd player and you're surround sound system all ours doesn't use regulate signals. You've got to use both gotta be. Sony won't want otherwise. You've got to use fiber optic. We're not want all right and finally not not there's no finally segment because again i couldn't find anything week of and finally weird stuff coming up. Oh absolutely i do. And i make this promise now. You know if we have friday. Friday show podcast. Because i know it'd be worn out. We're always wore now after week. But if there is one i'm going to find. I'm going to compile a list of them. I will and i'm going to be in the morning block. I'm going to keep an eye on them and some of them. So i'm definitely going to do that all right but other than that. No there are some cool things that we can with Go back to my screen here. All right so You help with their tech with this week over on make us dot com four types of essential software. Every young student must have so that our office the office where office software microsoft sixty five online. Google drive lieber office. I had to have heard of them. There's a bit warden. One password number four security software. That's another thing that's important to know. There is nor three sixty norton. Three sixty deluxe the defender total security. And that's it okay. Remember if you're if you are looking for software for students remember that these a lot of the proper companies offer free version offer Free version or significantly discounted versions for students Through your school or like microsoft offers ten percent off everything for students which is pretty cool. But they've got special deals on things like office so definitely want to get out and leslie on q dot com ten mobile apps that teach beginners cook and believe me. My wife does all the cooking. And i would like to learn because i will burn something really really quick. there's I have no idea why these pages not loading on. They're not they're not letting me right away. Taking forever okay. I personally recommend the second one tasty louis. I recommend the m lay okay. I interviewed them two years ago. It's a yes chef carla hall. Who if you are you familiar at all with tv cooks. You probably know a chef. Paul She is one of the yummy pros she actually walks you through through how to make southern staples which is really cool. And she's not the only family pro others. There's lots of them which is a really cool thing and then The yummy app can actually connect to the connected kitchenaid appliances so the an who whatever the other one is world pulled the company right. They can connect to the connected appliances. And like if there's a recipe that is supposed to be at four twenty five for thirty minutes and then at three fifty for an hour It'll change your temperature for you. Okay based on the recipe super cool. I'm i'm really impressed with gently if you can't it's the only i saw it and i'm like loop i'm starting there. I know a lot about that one all right well. I'm gonna recommendation. I'm going to give it a shot. All right there's a kitchen store recipes. Now if you're watching live on if you want folks in washington video from already listeners were. But i can i. It almost looks like logo for a bank. Which makes it weird. And i love it right. Oshii glows. that's a weird name Big oven sure. That sounds like that. Sounds like the kind of place where you're gonna find recipes for right born and going into a big oven. Yeah so probably not a whole lot of a one skillet meals right. You know that. That sounds like the kind of place where you're gonna find family stuff interests interested in that makes sense. Yeah and lastly paprika recipe manager three. What happened to two in one. Yeah i'm gonna throw two items in here. That aren't on the list The first we talked about on our last show which turned out to be bang recipes. Had no idea that they had expanded that. So much right Where you can just search for something that'll bring up actual recipes with photos. That was a pretty cool thing. Thank you kirk for adding that to the show a couple of weeks ago. "Coming up on Amazon closed a small warehouse because a worker was infected. How should you treat those packages? You ordered online. Intel has a chip. That can smell things for you. An auto makers volunteer to make ventilators. This is the daily tech news for Thursday march nineteenth. Twenty twenty in Los Angeles. I'm Tom Merritt and from studio red. I'm Sarah Lane from lockdown of Justin Robert Young and from the SOCO. La Area and the show's producer. Roger Chan we were talking about podcast intech and how that's now just become all entertainments tech. We were also talking about the significance of what's going on right now on good day Internet. Get that wider conversation become a member. Patriot dot com slash. Dt AND S. Let's start here with a few tech things you should know a report by loop ventures at Gene Munster notes that increases and availability of the sixty four GIG iphone eleven sixty four GIG iphone eleven pro air pods pro and the second Jenn air pods imply. The company's supply partners in China are returning to regular production output levels. Monster believes that lower lead times mostly point to a restart in production in China regular production anyway and the softening demand accounts for some but minority of that Bob. The New York Stock Exchange announced that it will temporarily close its physical trading floors and move to an all electronic trading following to positive Kobe nineteen tests this week. All Electric Trading will begin on March. Twenty third plug in Uber. Ceo Derek Shot. He said on an investor call that ride volume has dropped by up to sixty to seventy percent in cities. Hit hardest by coke. Nineteen like Seattle goes shy. He stressed that even in the worst case scenario of rides down eighty percent for the year. Uber would still have four billion dollars of unrestricted cash in the bank. And a two billion dollar credit line company is also considering using its network to deliver needed items like medicine and basic goods. Microsoft announced that Microsoft teams had forty four million daily active users as of March Eighteenth at twelve million user increase in the last week alone. Twenty customers have over one hundred thousand employees each using teams. That's up from fourteen last week. And in November two thousand Nineteen Microsoft announced teams had twenty million daily active user. So quite a jump and not surprising the US Federal Communications Commission announced that it temporarily waived quote unquote gift rules for its rural healthcare in Iraq programs until September twentieth. Two Thousand Twenty. These rules ordinarily forbid rural healthcare facilities libraries and schools who are part of the program and receiving subsidies from accepting anything of value from ISP's participating in the program the change could let ISP's donate Wifi hotspots upgraded network equipment and offer free service for Telemedicine and Distance Learning September twentieth wedding anniversary. So I'll remember that they're losing that exemption then Amazon spokesperson confirmed a CNBC Amazon Prime Pantry which launched in two thousand fourteen is temporarily closed in the US. Due to high order volumes tied to of course people preparing to stay at home because of Cova nineteen prime pantries that let's prime members by packaged groceries and household items discount. 'cause you pack them all together in one shipment. No Word on win service for Prime Pantry will resume. Let's talk a little bit more about what Europe Santa Netflix Justin. Well Tom the European Union's internal market and Services Commissioner Atira Britain called on streaming video providers to switch to standard definition content during peak usage and take other measures to ease the strain on Internet infrastructure. Netflix says it will reduce bit rates across all streams in Europe for thirty days and estimates that will estimates that it will reduce NETFLIX TRAFFIC ON EUROPEAN NETWORKS. By around twenty five percent later retin warned that network provider were network providers that wild they can take quote exceptional traffic management measures and quote to ease congestion. They must not discriminate against individual content providers commission also called on users to use Wi fi over cellular whenever possible and choose lower content resolution when possible. Bits saving measures are going into effect. Watch- watching standard Def for our survival exact. Yeah because this is crazy. Broadband distancing pleased distance. You're bits appropriately. Don't pack them into tightly. Bits will be two meters apart as delivered to your Netflix streaming. At the same time it would be hard to argue. No no no. I am not going to standard def. It's just not that big of a crisis and honestly there is a lot of video delivering of that can literally grow or shrink the Internet based on on how you do it it. Networks is taking those steps then. I think everybody can deal with a few more pixels and a and an hats off to the people who are working to keep the Internet running It isn't as easy as it might seem to. It's kind of amazing that it's still working to me. No kidding we'll speaking of video streaming. A lot of folks are experimenting now. More than ever with chrome extension called Netflix Party. The let's group of friends who all have netflixing cup video watching together so it's like a party you're all you know shelter place and has a chat room so you can chat while you're watching all users and a party. Have the option to pause rewind or fast forward unless the initiator reserves that function to themselves could get a little crazy depending on how many people are doing it. Polygon points out that there are other similar options like mets dream for chrome and Firefox. Six to seven which has paid tier to access some services like Hulu or Disney plus and watched two together which also supports audio streams. If you happen to want to listen to podcasts with your friends as with all browser extensions be careful. All extensions are not created equal. And it's hard to tell who's making some of these programs so be You know vigilance and install your own risk. Yeah I was trying to figure out. Who is behind Netflix party? They don't care about US page. There's not much detail about them. They have a three star rating on the chrome extension store so that that raise my hackles a little bit Is it just just be careful? Be Wise make This idea of watching things is always one where Mike do. People really want to do this. And this is Talia right. Like if it's ever GonNa work this. Is it actually have a group of friends who were all kind of scattered around? We're on the US but no one lives anywhere near me. So I'm not going to be in the same room watching Netflix with them at any point. Well we all have not fucks and this kind of got floated as a great idea and we all said. Yes. Let's do. It can't agree on a time as humans where we all want to do together. It requires us. Everyone's on appointment viewing now so it's like why can't do that at nine. Nine your time is midnight for me. Sarah. So it's It's still hurting cats a little bit but I love this idea. I've always wanted something like this to work well. And that's not even because I'm stuck at home just this like a fun thing to do with people who you just aren't going to see that. I say that this is something that I I am taking a fresh. Look at all of these things like. I have never when they announce facetime to have multiple parties. That you get a bunch of people in there initially. I'm like whatever I mean. I barely like it when anybody face times me let alone phase timing with many people and yet there. I was last night with two friends that I normally go out without Wednesdays. We now can't because of shelter at home and we were enjoying each other's company on multiple phase facetime. So I'm all about this. I do think however please please friends you cannot double check these plug INS enough to have a. They can that they are. They are back doors and not all the ones that Sarah mentioned are extensions. Some of them are independent services. But again you given your information to other people you can just try to get on chat and say three to one press play but it won't perfectly sink Yeah so that that's kind of what these services are providing the ability to do this. I wonder if Netflix will just R- they've they've had a service like this out of their hacker groups before the ramp up something like that that they offer themselves or some of those other products out there comeback. But yeah this is Go check out that polygon article has a wrap up of all the ones that that Sarah mentioned and kind of evaluate them. Pick the ones right for you. Monday announced it had trained. It's lowy neurotrophic trip at chip to identify the sense of ten different hazardous chemicals a paper in the Journal. Nature Machine Intelligence describes work done with Cornell University on the Louis Heat ship with the output of seventy two chemical sensors teaching Louis. He that a particular response correspondent to the presence of a particular chemical. So it's not just a sensor that detects a molecule. It's actually trying to mimic the human brain's ability to detect smells so that it can distinguish chemicals even among interfering smells. If one smell is overpowering the other It might still be able to tell that. It's there Wednesday. Intel announced the General Readiness of POA wiki springs a self contained neuromorphic system running on seven hundred sixty eight Louis. He chips available to researchers in the CLOUD INTEL CISCO WHO IKI springs is similar in neural capacity to the brain of a small mammal. So the first thing I thought here was just safety like industrial safety. Have certain situations where you're dealing with chemicals where it might not be immediately clear to a human brain that they're that things are raising to unsafe levels that that this would be a way to do it. A kind of a digital canary in a coal mine. Right are there any obligations that you can think of the top of your head? Yeah that's a really good one any kind of safety situation where where you're looking for leaks or spills any kind of security situation There's there's a lot of ego through the TSA here in the United States or any any security at an airport and they'll do those swabs and things because they're checking for chemicals this smell the ambient air and say well. Hey hold on We think we detect the faint odor of something. That shouldn't be in. Somebody's luggage and then you can. You can start checking around to find out where comes from. That's that's sensitive of a situation. Then you have where where you have to you have to look for. The actual molecules themselves yameen carbon monoxide. Alarms you know at least at least in California. You know it's it's you have to do it. It's it's a legality But eating or even in situations like that where there's something that is unsafe at a certain level but maybe you're burning a candle you know and you you just you aren't able to discern between that kind of thing having the technology to be able to be like where we are detecting something For a variety of things. That shouldn't be shouldn't be sniffed or just been around is pretty cool Amazon. Enclosed a small warehouse in Queens New York following a positive cove in nineteen tests by an associate associates at the warehouse were sent home with pay. As Amazon sanitizers the facility Amazon's et. It has increased sanitizing surfaces at facilities and staggered shift times among measures to prevent further spread the US National Institute of Health Says. The virus can stay active on cardboard for up to twenty four hours and two to three days on plastic and steel but those are droplets not necessarily just droplets or the way they think transmission happens in most cases if people who get covert probably get it from droplet which is usually sneezed or coughed. More likely Something in the air. It's not airborne but it's droplets. That happened in the air. And so if it gets on a surface it could possibly transmit the virus. What they're saying is look. We find that the the viruses is still valid or an active for up to twenty four hours on cardboard but they also don't think that is the major way that it is transmitted. So if you if you've got someone who is at high risk you might want to take that into account and keep those cardboard boxes away from them until you're sure they you know they've been away for more than twenty four hours etc but it's not a high likelihood of getting something from the package that said Amazon needs to be more transparent about what they're doing to keep these facilities safe. I've gotten banks telling me more about how they're wiping down the counters at their at their branches than we know about what Amazon's actually doing in their warehouses some transparency would go a long way to having people understand how this all works and it's another indication if we had more testing you could just say. Look if you're in a position where you're going to be touching things you know the. Us Post Office Amazon. Let's just test everybody. The problem is we don't have enough test so we can't afford to just test. Everybody like that Hopefully there there are at least doing test for fever. Make sure that if anybody has a fever they're not allowed to come to work at these warehouses things like that but you don't. There's not a high risk of getting this from a package. We did want to pass along those facts about the activity of the virus. Just just so you have the facts as well wash your hands. There's there's the one Then now forever. Wash your hands if you've got an Amazon package and you handle it Washer and tossed the packaging as soon as you get. Yeah I mean. The Amazon has so many warehouses at many different sizes. All over the place. And you've got you say well. Okay let's say you more or less trust Amazon to do the right thing. Okay well they figured out a certain facility needed a thorough a thorough cleaning and they're being really fast across the board. Okay even so I mean I don't know how someone who is driving in Amazon freight truck interacts with anybody at a warehouse. And how many people that might go through before it gets to me. I mean there's there's so much involved in less Amazon says here's exactly what's going on in here all the steps. We're taking from the point that you order something to the point that you you know plug in your new smart because it's been delivered to you. It is really hard. It's it's it's hard to know so yes as you mentioned just in you have to go overboard in in keeping yourself safe because that's all you can really do. Yeah I mean it's annoying. Everyone knows it's annoying. But just it's just wash your hands fifty times. It's fine I got some. I got some hands up. That smells really good. I am enjoying it in my hands. Not The worst thing in the world. I mean I did it before but I do it a lot. Conan O'Brien announced on Wednesday. He will return to full shows on. March thirtieth. He wrote on twitter. I will shoot at home using an iphone and my guests. Well skype. This will not be pretty but feel free to laugh at our attempt. Stay safe. Jimmy Fallon has been filming youtube videos that are incorporated into the evenings. Rerun of the tonight. Show Stephen Colbert has been filming a new monologue for the late show. Reruns and Jimmy. Kimmel has been sharing his own mini log. That's a Hashtag on social media. We talked a little bit about this during good day Internet But it is. It is quite fascinating to see the world of entertainment high production value. Entertainment turned to what we've been doing on shows like this for fifteen years and it's I'll be a part of me wants to be like I look at you guys doing what we've been doing part of me is is heartened like oh welcome to our. Yes this you can do this absolutely. I mean my first reaction was like doesn't have anything besides an iphone. You know what I found out. I was pretty nice. Shot do all the time. So it's like as long as it's funny. It almost doesn't matter as much when I watched the latest last week. Tonight with John Oliver He. He wasn't home but he was sort of in a kind of like an apple out. It was like a white back on behind him. But there's no studio audience. They didn't do canned laughter so there was no laughter at all and I was like. This is a weird way to watch the show but I appreciate the effort. I appreciate. Everyone's effort I mean they. They want to keep going and they want to keep their audiences. They want to keep people happy. So you gotta work with what you have get creative and look There are a radio shows that are now going fuller remote and some of them have is the end lines. Many many. Don't and many sound like all the podcast that you've listened to many of our voices on in in our earlier years Except now they are at the height of entertainment and media there. There has never never been more of a mainstream Showing of skype callers and of various different focusing and refocusing a Vermont Automatic Cameras. It is it is just a bizarre time to live in and I do think that part of the lessons here will be remembered for a long time. I I I think that that the idea of the gigantic studio or shows being predicated on a studio audience may may recede from from this point. You Know GonNa realize that. It is not needed for all of them. There's there's some interesting things one is like what you saying Sarah. Without a studio audience to laugh. You need a different kind of joke. You need a different rhythm so there may be the situation there like you know what if we want to do a traditional monologue? We gotTa have a studio. That's one thing we learned and we don't have a studio audience. We have to write differently. Your rhythm has to be different. I've noticed that Albert stuff. Some of his jokes were great of the way he delivers them others. You can tell. He's just out of habit pausing for applause at fault because you're like Abbiati chain know and that and a lot of that goes for sporting events right okay. We'll play to an empty stadium. Well the stadium also matters that all of that stuff. It's just we've always done it this way. This is the way that works. Oh well now we have to do it differently. Let's try to do it the same way. That didn't work either. Okay let's rethink this. I don't know maybe some good will come of the. I think what we'll see is more of these kinds of of diy segments. They've been creeping into the two hypertension value shows here and there. But I bet they'll be doing a lot more of these and they'll they'll realize like oh we've we've developed the skill. We figured out what's appropriate. We figured out how to make it happen like just it was joking before the show that you know they'll figure out that a USB Mike is not great and they still want an analog Mike with the USB extender like they'll figure all that out and we'll we'll see more of this like in these shows even when things go back to normal knock on wood. Yep Hey folks if you want to get all the tech headlines each day in about five minutes be sure to subscribe to daily tech headlines Dot COM man. Yesterday I was talking about how Elon Musk should offer his tesla factory to to make things that hospitals and healthcare providers might need. I swear I hadn't seen any of the stories that happen immediately. After that when I said it ventilators particularly are needed for critically ill patients. And there's a real concern that the number of critically ill patients could soon exceed the number of ventilators on hand in the United Kingdom companies including the jet engine maker rolls-royce not the car maker Airbus and Jaguar. Land Rover have been asked if they can help address. The pending shortage Toyota has also offered to help there in the United States. General Motors CEO. Mary Barra told the White House. She's looking into making ventilators at her companies factories. Ford's talking to the US and UK government's about doing so and on twitter which is where Elon. Musk does most of his talking. A user asked Elon. Musk he could have. Tesla make ventilators and musk responded. Wednesday quote we will make ventilators if there is a shortage Thursday morning. New York City's mayor wrote. Our country is facing a drastic shortage. And we need ventilators et sap to Elon. Musk he wrote that. We will need thousands in the city over the next few weeks. We're getting them as fast as we can. But we could use your help. We're reaching out to you directly although reaching out to someone in an reply on twitter is not the definition of directly. But okay there are. Other efforts going onto razor. Ceo Minyong Tang Announced they will shift a number of the razor manufacturing lines and believe me. They're selling razor equipment right now because people game from home but they're still gonNA shift some of their manufacturing lines to make surgical masks. Those are also in short supply and essential for healthcare workers. Razor thinks that can make a million masks which it will give the healthcare providers for free with the first shipments going to Singapore where razors headquarters are located and the related story Nathan proctor. Who's the head of the right to repair campaign for the US? Public Interest Research Group called on ventilator makers to release all the repair documentation for their essential medical kit especially ventilators and I fixed. It has already begun to compile ventilator service manuals and make them available on their site so that there can be more on site faster repair of ventilators. So you can keep using them longer. This is this is a very interesting situation. It is exactly where my head was at yesterday when we were talking about this. Justin what what should happen here. What's the role of technology and automaker companies and others in stepping in here and helping so real quick primer for everybody the major issue here if if you are unaware although this is pretty much all that anybody's thinking of Bud in the entrance The interest of clarity. The problem with what we're going to face is not necessarily even the the lethal of power of the virus but there is a choke point in terms of hospital beds and equipment. And so this on its face all these companies coming together saying look we have the engineers we have the. We have the the lines to make them. Let's make more ventilators is very very very very good. I I have a few questions. Including Is a public conversation between ELAM. Musk and bill de blasios. The best way that we should be conducting public health policy during a pandemic. That's that's a big question mark for me. They are strong personalities that I will leave personal feelings about one or both of them out of out of this particular the discussion but Where they needed. How fast can they be made? How fast can they get there? Are there are logistical questions? That I really really having. I hope that there is somebody that is a central clearinghouse to connect. You know whether or not these ventilators are as safe. Be Able to be deployed whether they able to get where they need to be. Yeah that seems to be one of one of the aspects of this. That worries me. It's it's not that the automakers are saying the right things. They are even Elon. Musk is saying look. If you need ventilators I'll I'll make ventilators saying the right thing and it's not that I'm saying why don't trust him. He's just saying that it's that it is something that needs coordination you want to make the right ventilators. You WanNa make them in a way that they can be shipped to the places that need them you need a central clearinghouse whether it's is our or CDC in charge of coordinating. You need someone to look over and say who's making what. How many are they making? I mean you need a frequent product manager for the situation so that you can make sure that you're optimizing these getting them to the right places because lives matter. Lives depend on it. Yeah I also don't think I mean Elon. Musk saying. Hey you need ventilators. Okay we will do that. Let us know the mayor of New York City. I doubt he was like. Oh now's our chance. Tweet back. They if if he's serious obviously contacted him another way but this is like kind of hold in the company's feet to the fire so that everyone else knows. Oh The New York actually needs them to do this. So you can't say something and be flippant about it So that if for some reason Elon Musk and Tesla and whatever warehouses he has access to don't do this then you know then they look bad so I'm sure there's more to it than just chatting on twitter. Yes I hope. I certainly hope so. Yes I'm go is somebody that has had he. He's he's coming under fire for some of the way. He bet he is handling seven. How seriously he is taking it personally. Google IT YMCA. Jim Just Google that Blasios and I hope. I hope that he is that. This is something where if because he's going to have a major problem and this is not the only private public partnership that we're looking at There was a report today or during the press conference today that Carnival cruise lines was possibly looking to dachshund worship. That aren't going to be running as possible floating hospitals the military has already moved some of their of of floating hospitals off the coast of New York City. So there are a lot of things that can come together. I just hope that this is taken more seriously than a twitter. One upsmanship between whatever you might think of them to very loud personalities ventilators and beds are different things if you can have all the beds of the world if you don't have the ventilator for the critically ill patient than the bed doesn't help as much as it would otherwise so you can't say like. Oh but well you know we we put a. They put a navy ship off. I guess we're fine. The navy ship might have some ventilators affect the military has been Requisitioning some of their ventilators and giving them towards the cause from what the people who are dealing with the save we will likely need more. Yes and we're going to need more than we would ever think we could have needed because this is. This is so acute with a very at risk part of our population. And he hit me up after the show and he was like. I can't believe I didn't bring this up. He said Just the week before Eric was bragging about how he never gets sick that you know he hasn't acid and he was the first one out to stay home because he didn't feel good right. Air F- Oh yes. Well I had. I had a scratchy throat so I didn't want to admit as opposed. That's how it starts. But then I talked to a nurse yesterday. Scratchy throat anything. I'm not doing any HOOKUPS. Somebody so I knew I knew it wasn't that but yeah so I want to risk it for you. All right especially fragile and stuff right major health scare in the last three years right over long. Been now right. I'm one of the top one percent. I can't run away from the corona virus but no air is now officially in quarantine. He's calling us from his house where he's a broadcast from his house which we will all be doing Starting next week there's our last show from the studio for who knows how long weeks months who knows. Okay Yeah Surprise Clark. I'll tell you that but yeah this is our last show from the studio because at the end of the day if everyone just stays home. I get that not. Everyone's GonNa get sick and not everyone's worried about getting sick. I get all that. But at the end of the the more time people go out and they do their thing the virus last longer and so we want to burn this out as quick as possible and I. I'm all for trump or somebody saying hey. Listen let's shut the entire country down. You don't want to leave your house anyway right for me. This is great. And I'm a veteran of quarantine. I was at my house for three Three months before I left when I had my broken leg I love it so I'm hoping that they tell me. I gotta stay on for five. Weeks could iron like man get current of ours. I don't know we'll find out today when we play the trailer. All right question. Michael No No I know right I duNno. I'm asking permission but So how are you getting your groceries and stuff seven eleven I was GonNa say I just bought a whole thing of Vienna sausage from seven eleven bought? I bought a I bought so one day I didn't realize as I thought you can buy pizzas from seven eleven frozen ready to go now. I thought they were all ready to go. They are frozen. It's like Papa Murphy's you've got to take it home and Cook So I didn't know that can but they weren't when I went over there. They weren't doing it for one forty nine. Now they still have the rollers out without sneeze guards or anything. Oh Wow bombers those because I read. I read the Civilization was like. Oh we're going to give free Like pizza slices Barham recalling wings. And all that to kids that Can Afford any meals. Yeah they used to get meals from schools and all that. But I'm going down there I. I don't consider going to the gas station leaving my house if it's leaving my house. I've left three times this week. Michael you could almost pass as a kid. That's not getting the because he's right told me you didn't get your free lunch. They gave me everything they gave me. That pizza for one dollar and forty nine cents though. I'm growing quarantine beard myself. I can't wait to see what we all look like after this. It looks like everyone is. What about you? Erick person a slot in person that I'm GONNA hit up if I get like I need a haircut. Why you at your house. No one's GonNa see except for us when we livestream and stuff but no one else beanie hat or something. I think would still you concerned at all that? This is going to put your relationship with Kirby to the task. Because there's going to be the time when you guys spend the most time together and you're GONNA be. I don't know about this guy you know I was thinking about that But to be honest with you we be basically already like stay home the majority of the time even before the and you kind of live almost in separate parts of the house. He's he's in the other room playing video games. And you're doing whatever you're doing well. Our apartment's like up and down like a upstairs and downstairs. Okay cool so like I'll come upstairs. Ivan xbox appear and he has been downstairs. Solita play games together. He'll say down there and I'll work on the computer and whatever I need to but you guys are always kind of separated anyway so right. Yeah all right. That doesn't sound too bad. I'M GONNA have to field xbox. Yeah now this is the time spiders like all my entertainment venues outside of the House or shutting down anything to do I just. I just got battlefront two racks boxer playstation xbox xbox and playstation so I can play with I can play both sides. Oh excellent anyway. No I think I'm a fan of of national corn and I'll tell you why I'm not a smart Guy Right. I have no qualifications whatsoever. I barely made it up here. I live in Ohio. I'm alive at this point. But I'm thinking so New York Philadelphia California they're all doing their statewide quarantine right and New Jersey to New Jersey so all these states are doing their independent quarantine which is great. I understand that. Let's burn this thing out quick as possible but like for us in Texas. We're on suggested quarantine. Hey if you don't have anything to do stay home like no one's telling us to stay home yet. It's just a suggestion kind of like the speed limits on and that's the suggestion right pretty much. Yeah what's going to happen whenever California's starts to lift their quarantine and people start coming out of their houses. What's GonNa stop somebody from Texas or New Mexico or wherever from going back to California infecting everyone else again getting? Yeah that's definitely a Scenario right and I think that if we all do it together and we kind of burned out. Let's say stay inside for five weeks. We can all do that. We live in a world where we can play on the Internet. We can chat with our friends without even seeing them which is great. I prefer that everyone claims to be antisocial and hate people and all that stuff until it comes time to be antisocial now like I just got to get out of my house. I saw people yesterday on Instagram. Having quarantine parties or having a friend's house or on the couch or watching TV or they're they're drinking together. They're having the bars are closed drinking at each other's houses. That's the whole point. They don't want you to do that. You're making things worse you making. This thing lasts longer. If you're doing that kind of thing I would just invited to a quarantine party dislike admitted ago. Yeah and what did you say dumb ass? This is why I said I'll be trying to avoid. There will be there with my new perm I went to. I went to pick up some fun Tom. Party time and my dear. It bought everyone their own little piece. So when you go over there. He's like that one's years. No one else is using that. Clean it when you're done with good go like all right man. We were six feet apart smoking. Eric and I were talking about this the other day. They're announcing who in your city or whatever has gotten the corona virus and so and so you know he's sixty years old they don't say their name. Whatever there six years old they're they had no underlying health conditions. Yada Yada Yada. But they don't tell you the most important thing is how did they get it? Where were they well right? Most people aren't GonNa know well like if there was like a seven year old lady. Who got it right and she. She never her house. So it's the people that came over to. Our House denies it hurt gave it to her. So who are they were they from? That's what I WANNA know. Like they're only gonNa tell you if that person dies so it's going to be like you know. Sadly so-and-so sixty years old passed away of the coronavirus. He got it two weeks ago. He was sitting. He the only time you left. His house was going to subway at the corner of this intersection. This street are you describing? Meanwhile I'm at that subway reading the article and I'm like could you told me this two weeks ago before I got here. Obviously I'm not at the subway. 'cause they're all close? Are they It's yeah will be honest with you. I think in this next coming week We're GONNA find a lot of confirmed cases here in especially Dallas. Yep because before this week There wasn't enough testing or testing available here locally in Dallas for the virus and then got out on my way up here. They were setting up the drive through testing spot in the American Airlines Center. Preeminent also like specific specific a specific criteria even tested. There I think I grow a week away from complete at least in taxes. I don't know about nationwide. I think we should do nationwide but whatever nobody listens to me. I told you I thought it would be Monday but I don't see that happening now. I think once because they're announcing new cases every day so once the number gets to a certain point which probably by Tuesday or Wednesday. They're going to say yeah. What's his name? Eric Johnson that the Mayor of Dallas So He's going to say let's shut everything down me while we're not going to access the studio anymore and stuff plus. We really don't need to be here if we can do the show from the I mean. We're GONNA sacrifice quality and some equipment but will at least be safe in our house. I hope we don't sacrificing equipment. I'm having with us at all times a month into this. Can we do a challenge where we all have to give ourselves a haircut? I don't trust myself. Thanks that's all that's the whole point. Excuse me he's already got the Cronin Bob Clark. I think it's a challenge to be if a month from now. We're all still alive. Oh I'll be alive but you sure yeah. I'll take challenges very well so the virus is going to challenge me. I'M GONNA beat S. virus. I'll be highly. Oh No yeah I should be the first on out of us to get it just. Yes surely the amount of people that come through. I told Michael. How's all that? Uber is GonNa shut down at some point and just be available for emergencies like going to the store. Whatever they took off all the delivery fees on wreath looking for some food without a delivery fee. Yeah I don't have a job right now. All I didn't even think about that. Yeah well we gotta take a break I don't know what he's doing now. He has always fans now dot com. Anyway we're gonNA take a break. We'll come back. Listen during the break because we are going to Butte that at the word Dubuque debut it'd be nailed it there. You go the ironman trailer which comes out actually. It's been delayed iron leg iron leg man trailer which has now been delayed here. Yeah because of the corona virus but anyway here we go now now at one eight eight. Eight Z lie. Zino poor five call. One eight hundred five each started out like any other day. Hey Michael Comer the scooter with Pale. A briefing changed. Oh my God somebody called. I wouldn't want help. Somebody help all deep ellum on labor day he and a friend hopped on scooters headed Gourd downtown. When hit on manhole cover for Michael? He's I SCOOTER. Ride was he's last. Well we were able to save the leg. But there's some interesting side. Effects on. True Story was seventy. Homey were their money at boom. You my neighborhood. He's up there killing. I don't want to leave that man. What the Hell did these block that bullet with I? I guess I did what. Why Samuel Jackson calling me the last at Vineyard? Oh talk about thirdly Z. Now this is m Z. Now from stranger thing. And you're listening to Michael. So what you guys think solid. I liked it. I'm ready for the movie to come out although it's been pushed back with Filming that movie would easily go. Forty six percent on rotten. You know we we we Recorded that back in January was it that long ago. We weren't even back to do shows yet. We were doing it during our break. And we're GONNA have it ready to play when we came back but we couldn't get hymie. Yeah if his line look meanwhile the track them down yes then we spider had to go to him and record hymies line then once we got it we were able to put together a really quick but it sounded really good. I WANNA get get a comic book artist to draw and we can do iron man merch superhero like your Eric. You still there okay. You just boring boring. Yeah I want to make sure it's of my face and what I said like seventy call nine one one hell. I think that would sell up. I think you did really well. I think the best actors in that absolutely you and hymie honestly a high money wasn't an image right himself and he was like we just need this one line. You'd like connect us. I was like no and then five swearwords later. Yeah and like he gave us like ten lines to. He went all in on that one. By the way. This is officially a oops trying to smooth is officially a no cops zone shown no zone day no own zone. They may not be the number one. Dance on top. Gone with no three eighths. But it's it's a good one. I'LL WE'RE GONNA another one to we're going to quarantine dance that Martine Shiny being. Have that one if you own a here. Pretty Awesome also remixed. Yeah I have no idea. What about online? Pull it up then. Yeah it's really great to such a cartoon character does the one where What do you call it. Trump is given in speech and Two Cardi B. in the background crying about Iraq turns around as if like this shit him or something. Let's check the sub. Sorry I was. I was playing the song the the. Yeah that's what do you call it? That I cruise ship docking Had All the core the infected cruise ships out is here What were you saying something about people being released from the hospital? Eric Cronin buyer. So I've seen them multiple posts from people That here in here locally in Dallas They went to the hospital and they were that they have krona virus. They have wristbands like a hospital or spins on the yellow and they have a chronic virus yet tested positive and they give them a printout and his home instructions on what to do basically Stay home don't come in contact anybody and like a list of like a few different over the counter Like what do you call it him? Fever reduce and that's it yellow wristband. Yeah they gave you young and watch out for those people to make yet to one aware virus shop for those yellow bands so then the Nazis have bands go. No they're just letting these people go back out in the wild exactly as you know. They're gonNA have their quarantine parties and you know ordering ubereats. Thank you sir. Thank you yellow band party. Yeah ubereats is also doing No touch deliveries. Oh yeah no I did. They call it a no contact. No contact all the delivery said. I made doing what I'm doing right now. Just drop them off. And they're all on console so Just a little backstory on Clark. So he just after months of being unemployed just got a job back Working in the service industry right before this thing went down and now he's back on the unemployed train yet but you got a degree though. You're good you're over. Yeah you know what he's solid. Frame that mother yes. He's me he's angry. I am I'm going to hang it up in my room that when we do Podcast and stuff. It'll be their fifth. Symptom of virus is cussing a lot years. Yeah I got that stuff in the third grade and one of the STAB PEOPLE. Spiders had it. He's got chronic corona Bam. Dad Got it all time stuck in traffic. You know. I'm not threatened to stab as many people lately. I've threatened to threaten to stab people so that's a step in the right direction. Maybe you're you're getting well now. I saw this weight loss soon. Yeah I don't know we're GONNA do about that that none of our want and we can call it Eric. Have you lost any weight? We'll do about the honor system I don't I don't I like loss weight. I don't think I have though I haven't myself either. Have a scale at the House. I do but the League how the city was broken anyways. It's five pounds off no we. We fixed that. Yeah that's right. He did he. He What you call it. Sinked it up tear. I want to be honest with you. I didn't I didn't get any diet food when I was preparing for all this always. Yeah that's that's all there wasn't as April always nineteenth or whatever it was so we'll we'll do official way in everyone's house and whoever wins We'll do that. We do have a lot of stuff that we have planned The coming out I WANNA do. A an edgy. Live show called corn- corner. We'll do that with some celebrities and stuff. I think. That'd be fun working with Chris Sale. Flyer on maybe a doing a game show or something where we can give away movies and stuff to people. we also talked about. I don't know if this is going to happen or not but I think it'd be fun to do. We talked about. We're probably never GONNA do towards giving again because the jokes kind of but what if we did tour contain whereas the crickets from what no no contest warranting Contoured team yeah. Well we'll put the little mask on Turkey all on social media. Yeah so people. Here's how it work if we did this again. Don't we're GONNA do it yet. All this could be over in a tomorrow. We would have people send in videos. And we'd get somebody maybe like. Jackie Fabio allow. They would pick the top five working videos. Then we put them online and their the their followers can go and vote for whoever they think is the best rights worker and then we announce the winner at certain date and they get one hundred bucks or something crickets. Nobody likes that idea now. That's fine you lost me. I'm beginning to death eric. No no I like sudden death. He's out if they if they die from the corona virus while they're talking and then they win. Yes sudden talkers death syndrome. Yeah S. T. D. S. Well we got a lot of stuff. Spiders even working on a music series stuff that we can do heart from the weekly show that we will continue to do. We weren't GonNa be here next week because we had a kind of scheduled time off to go do the Comic Con. It's not happening. That's that's done so we may be here next week doing a weekly show. But in the meantime we're also going to add stuff to it so like the Corinthian corner and little videos. We have planned where we're trying to give people more content because you're stuck at home. There's only so much netflix. Yeah about first person on the shooter test positive for the do the next show naked from their house. Yeah yeah that's great. I mean you just you just doing it naked already. You just shoot. Basically from the chest says why do this right and he wants to sit around at home but naked so you can do the show like that. He could do it here. But then we would beat your ass afterwards. Oh well that's up to spider. He can he can tear up that. Asif he wants. No thank you. I'm not that desperate early about a week. And a quarantine suggested Corentin. Eric is you know he's. He said he's been traveling or what. He hasn't been traveling. He's been following this Corona Virus Win January. Yeah Yeah Yeah Tyrian about it. Well because You know the reason why I heard about it was because Alexa. I'll you know like the morning news but I have like four different news outlets that. Listen to See I've been following it that way But about like five weeks ago is whenever are doing more research on my own and Michael inherits he predicted all this question. Oh Yeah I did and And he's been preparing for this so he to give tips on how you can stay safe from this corona virus madness. Yes yeah I wish I was in the earlier have a lot of people that said that they wished I would have said something like like whenever I was following it and whenever I start preparing but I was all like I was telling people and people were were telling they're like oh you're crazy you're over reacting. Everything's GonNa be okay and I'm all I Okay I'm just thinking to myself and then just prepare myself. You know you're like no yeah exactly So I do have five tips Now they were. I missed it. I five tips to try to help. Prepare people for help them survive during this Brek AMENDED SHUT IN OR SOCIAL. Was distancing so stop going? Osho Fund Day. Yes stop going to the grocery store every day. Yes every day because you are exposing yourself every day because there are. I've I've seen pictures from friends on facebook and things like that. That these long lines. That's obviously more than fifty people right so that the CDC right now is saying anyway recommending ten. You're also wondering people that work there like my sister works in retail right. So you're she's still having to go to work. She works at A. It's a little chain called target. And she works and so people are going in all the time and just shopping because they're bored. Stay home you don't need anything from there you know. You don't need an extra shelf or a rug to watch Netflix for five weeks. You don't need any of that right right right so like instead. I was saying like order online because a lot of rehabilitators Ought to go. Three stones are retail stores. You can order online and then go pick it up. Now let me have you ordered anything from Amazon's kind of shutdown did you. How how does it work orders? Something not since. They sat down but ordered something. Maybe take a week before they sitting everything down so that since they shut down who sat down but yeah they said that they're only going to be stocking and shipping needed items essential items so are going that route but they needed a higher like a thousand or so people to handle. But does that mean they're not sending if I order a funk? Oh pop does that mean. I'm not going to get it to after this is over or does that mean that if it's out of stock it's probably not going to be restocked until this stuff is. I think they're gonNA stop like all all like Non Essential like materials. But I I haven't seen anything that he stopped already. Recently I did about two weeks ago. Okay so that was before all that happened. Yeah same here. I just got my delivery on. Tuesday haven't tried ordering anything other than well. I haven't ordered anything so well about Michael because it wasn't on my list but I think we need to talk about it but the current Ivars can stay up to twenty four hours on court cardboard. So if somebody were to touch or cough on your package and then you go pick it up The viruses alive twenty four hours from from exposure. And Be careful what I was also in the industry that I came from as someone coughed on my package. I was always sure to take a shower. I'm very aware of that. So you're you're exposed. Yeah when it was exposed as coughed on it. I always had to take a shower. Wow Yeah so if you if you just leave your package out side like porch for which which I okay yeah I yeah I only let it just. It was at royal like like I know right here. Like a whole foods They have like a holding center in there and they put it in the in the in the locker. Yeah I also have like gloves. I'll I'll pick it up and then I'll put it in my car leaving macarthur like a little bit. I don't believe in the Portuguese down. If you have some of those little wipes leaving on your porch. Just put put a yellow band around it. Yeah there you go. Nobody will touch. Point was contaminant What do you call it? Exposed TO KRONA virus Worth Buddy down spray down with bleach. Oh okay so yeah gone. Kroger's they're doing like a or line. Yeah I'll take a little bit but I would rather just be safe and then just you know have Bring it to my car. So that way. I don't have to be exposed. Anybody in lines are in there And they can put on my car then I can just go so some of the I think it was a target that had like a five hour. Line for pickup. But they do doing where they'll like email you. The time is going to be ready so you can buy roll up and you the parking spot and then US check in that you're there in that spot and a company bring it out to your car on. So yeah that's what I would recommend And then stop ordering from well known. Fast Food places Instead Cook at home or purchase gift cards from small business restaurants. That's a good game because you don't WanNa you really don't want to buy food right now. Just because you don't know who has the virus and a lot of people that are living paycheck to paycheck? Right now are still going to work. Yeah yeah whether the yeah. I heard some employers are locked. Ako You know you can't even if you're sick you have to come in right. It's all like really again. You can buy as of right now. You can really in trouble for that right so I think it probably is going to be arrested. You know something like that happens. That's countries are doing so as a moral human beings you just stay home. You can make your house right now so you'll be fine right Mother tip is tip number three so don't over to friends houses during the recommended social distance. Thank you and ED instead. Do A facetime like you know group chat or maybe facebook Messenger video chat. Yeah Our friends and our our planning a A brench Facebook Messenger kind of thing we have. We all have alcohol like Wine Liquor. Whatever and we all miss each other so thinking about arranging something like that. Yeah that'd be per And netflix now has a thing where you can watch Netflix. Party or whatever. I don't even think it's somebody else notes Netflix. It is okay. It's definitely ex. Yeah but this kind of dumb because it's like back like do like I know I love that you can just chat a like. Why can't we see each other because you because you watching the movie while you're watching a movie and then you'll have somebody who's been doing with them? Somebody's allowed to have notches talk all the time. You don't have to deal with typing. You just ignore them if you don't want to listen to the whole point because you can anybody what this is what I three I can catfish with the best of them. Now you can type in there. Oh my gosh. I can't believe she did. Yeah and then what you're gonNA scream like the actress girls. Don't go in there. Yeah could the little stuff. Yeah Great and all the annoying people in the theater doing that. You don't have to hear the clapping or the people tell jokes and stuff jack. One up the street right behind his house and No but I will say that you brought that up. We'll say that there are some movies that were in theaters on Amazon prime fights when he bugs. I do like that. I love to do that. Who was did you post the deal about Beverly's last night? Yeah so I had. This wasn't because of me but I I had a will Smith on I. G commented on as it will Smith. Can you please get bad boys? Three out sooner because we're all at home. Whatever and then literally an hour later there was an article saying that they're releasing it. I had nothing to do with. I mean if you WanNa give me credit for fine but I'll take it but I had nothing to do with the hardest thing that any of the movie It is and I would say this report that like if you like the idea. I just watched invisible man. Last night I thought it was grabbed on their. Yeah Yeah I spent the twenty dollars. It's a little more than what you has been at a movie theater. But if you think about not getting the popcorn no and it's something. I want to support that decision. I'm going to pay for that movie. I didn't really pay attention the whole time I. I still gave my money like that and I'm buying all the movies that are coming out earlier than I really enjoy like the sonic movies coming out earlier. The bad boys movies going. So I'm going to Harley Quinn so I'm GonNa buy all of that because I support that decision and I think we should do that even after this stuff is over. Yeah now that that's always. That's something Mark Cuban talked about years about how he wanted whenever a movie came out to be on all platforms. So you had an option to do it however you want it to. Yeah Yeah I think it's a good idea By number four is disinfecting touched areas in your house. It on your on your car and on yourself so you wash your hands disinfectant down there Mike. Oh I haven't been highly touched. And oh well he's GonNa tag on three to six months and then my number five tip is that you should have appeared five or four weeks in advance like me to late of a what I said. You should have prepared four to five weeks in advance like no and attitude did not prepare in advance. Then it's already doing the segment right now for this all my life. I love all of those. Yeah I'm excited. I'm like food. Oh Yeah why? Don't you don't have a bunch of nut trees and things like that. I don't have any toiletries. A Our I gotTA shower. Yeah I'll be fine. I'M NOT GONNA use wrench. Your body will just water now. I'm gonNA use old T shirts that's what I'm GonNa do comes to work diapers from broken leg time mode a waffle stop. I almost got some toilet paper from Amazon but it sold out. I I was doing the Amazon Prime Pantry. I think is what it was called and they give you free shipping after thirty five dollars so I added all this stuff to my cart by. Oh you're three dollars away from free shipping. Oh I can find something for three dollars. I go back and find something. Put it back in by now. Toilet paper is no longer available. out. I delete that. Go back out. Try to find another set of found it even. It was even more toilet paper than the when I originally picked but that in their hit by. You're a dollar fifty away from free. shipping that free shipping. Yeah I don't want to spend the four dollars for it so now. I have no toilet paper. We should've paid the four bucks. Eric Have you seen The newest episode of Picard yet. I did I watched it this morning. Did you like it I did like it I don't know I don't know this whole story line. I don't know why can't get into it. Yeah it's not that ground bills like it's very thrown together very haji. Yeah I did like the want to give it away from me then. Well I'll just say because I don't know if anybody spoiler alert no one's alive but now the no one else is alive. It's just us. We'll know how they had that planet with all of the Yeah the ANDROID. Let's see how the androids and how the crater is a crater of Data. He's the of the creator of data so he that's right now. I don't know why but he looked old actor. I was like brands. How he looked when he was playing Data at the beginning of whenever anti-aging stuff They didn't but he does. He looks great he looks. I think he could play data. Exactly how he is right. Now and be fine to say data had aging program or something but I think Eric we're just talking about this. Eric and I are talking about doing an I. G Live or a youtube live. I don't know a facebook live. I don't know On Thursday night when the finale comes out and we might Invite other star Trek fans to join in and we can give our thoughts of what's going on. I think that'd be fun. I could probably I just wish they did more with the enterprise characters instead of like him passing through a how're you doing? I'm doing good. I'm in semes- right now. All nuts help and do their thing. Yeah like wait so yeah I agree. I think I think a lot of it just to keep people watching because I knew there wasn't that great so like on episode five. Let's put in seven of nine or whatever they had. I don't know anyway I HOPE SEASON. Two's better But we'll we'll see. Maybe it'll already been renewed. Yeah Okay and we'll be Goldberg. Says she's GonNa come back as Guinan. I WanNa see her pretty good even an enterprise. Yeah I liked her mysterious. And you know you don't know where she comes from for years. We were trying to find somebody to make a guy outfit for Chris. Southwire so that way we go to comic CON. Kamori complete with a huge hat. But we haven't found anybody but now everyone has their hands. Somebody can make one for us and we'll when when we come back to life again we can Dress well I have a friend. That's a fashion designer so I don't know maybe you can naked with him. He she makes a lot of like it makes a lot of Qatar. Like dresses and stuff. We I think the dress part is fine. It's the hat we gotta have. Somebody make that giant some Bro. It makes a happy. He meets pieces. All Okay am I do that. We'll have a good head for free but I mean we can talk he Christians. "Coming up on Amazon closed a small warehouse because a worker was infected. How should you treat those packages? You ordered online. Intel has a chip. That can smell things for you. An auto makers volunteer to make ventilators daily Tech News for Thursday march nineteenth. Ceo Derrick. Rose was shot. The let's a group of friends who all have netflixing cup video watching together so it's like a party you're all you know shelter place and has a chat room so you can chat while you're watching all users and a party. But yeah this is Go check out that polygon article has a wrap up of all the ones that Sarah mentioned and kind of evaluate them. So if you if you've got someone who is at high risk you might want to take that into account and keep those cardboard boxes away from them until you're sure they they've been away for more than twenty four hours etc but it's not a high likelihood of getting something from the package that said Amazon needs to be more transparent about what they're doing to keep these facilities safe. The Amazon has so many warehouses at so many different sizes. I I think that that the idea of the gigantic studio or shows being predicated on a studio audience may may recede from from this point you know GonNa realize that it is not needed for all of them. We're reaching out to you directly although reaching out to someone in an replying. Twitter is not the definition of directly. But okay there are. Other efforts going onto razor. Ceo Young Tang Announced they will shift a number of the razor manufacturing lines and believe me. It has already begun to compile ventilator service manuals and make them available on their site so that there can be more onsite faster repair of ventilators. You WanNa make them in a way that they can be shipped to the places that need them you need a central clearing house whether it's a czar or CDC in charge of coordinating. So you can't say something and be flippant about it So that if for some reason Elon Musk and Tesla. And you know whatever warehouses he has access to. Don't do this then you know. Then they look bad so. I'm sure there's more to it than just chatting on twitter. Yes I hope I certainly hope so. Yes I is somebody that has had he. After being locked away for a few days to deal with a minor sinus infection I went into drop off an old. Rsa Token with it team. They were not at fifty percent staff and rather at one hundred percent working frantically dealing with other people's complaints. I M minor rather unimportant ticket and my SYS admin apologized profusely for not getting back to me. I reassured him I was fine. I knew he'd had his hands full because not enough people prepared for this crisis. I swear I thought he was about to cry. He told me I was the first person to bring this up and burst out that my organization didn't have enough licenses or server capacity for the number of people accessing all remote resources. This is just my long way of asking listeners to be nice to their asthma. Admins as you're working remotely and recognize that. They have their own band with systems and budget limitations. Thanks for keeping me my mind going during challenging times. Oh thank you Mike. Yes you. Grocery store workers healthcare providers first responders and since edmonds. Podcast Live: Tulsi Sues Google, Debt Ceiling, Facebook Fined, 9/11, and Big Tech Hot Seat

"<music> Hi delete e Fox daughters. Oh my God we have a few things to talk about this guys. I do appreciate you coming in to join me at twitch once again for another livestream actually kind of enjoying being over here at twitch trying to give some people a few more options. If you have any other places that you would prefer that we do these lives. Please go ahead and let me know twitch and Youtube or the only places I really know about and youtube unfortunately kind of pushes everybody else away so I think for now we're going to stick with twitch anyway. We are going to talk about <hes> presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard so in Google for ads censorship where also gonNA talk about the debt ceiling and budget deal. We're going to talk about the fine that was levied against facebook this week. Congress finally passed the nine. I'm Living Victim Compensation Fund and we've got <hes> big tech faces broad U._S.. Justice Department antitrust probe so we've got a lot of fun stuff to talk about and we've also got a few things that I wanNA talk about at the end of this as well <hes> <hes> so high in there with me. I don't know if this is GonNa go long short or sideways. I have no idea so with that being said let's go ahead and get started and we are going to start off with presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard Soothe Google for adds separate censorship and this is from I._R._S. Technica. This is a really interesting on you guys so let's go ahead and <hes> let's go ahead and take a little bit of a read here. Democratic presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard sued Google Thursday. She ordered that the search giant illegally blocked her from buying ads Google's platform. I'm for several hours on June twenty eighth two days after she appeared in the first democratic primary debate Google play favorites with no warning no transparency and no accountability Gabbard wrote in her lawsuit Google's arbitrary and capricious straight treatment of Gabbard campaign should raise concerns for policymakers everywhere about the company's ability to use its dominance to impact political discourse. Google says the brief suspension was triggered by the company's automated anti-fraud Algorithms just in case you guys are wondering why this is such a big deal well <hes> after the first <hes> presidential debates on the Democrat side Tulsi Gabbard was the most heavily searched candidate that was after that was after. I can't remember who was the most popular before it started but after it started she was the most heavily search for this actually was quite a blow. She wasn't able to run advertising or anything like that. So this is pretty bad <hes> we have automated systems that flag unusual activity on our advertiser accounts including large spending changes in order to prevent fraud and protect our customers Google spokeswoman spokesperson said in an email to i._R._S.. In this case our system triggered or suspension and the account was reinstated shortly thereafter we are proud to offer <unk> are <unk> add products the health campaigns connect directly with voters and we do so without bias toward any party or political ideology. Meanwhile legal experts pan the complaint. The lawsuit has so many problems. It's hard to acknowledge where it's hard to know where to begin. Argues attorney and writer Gabriel Mellor Gabbard La gathered lawsuit also doesn't impress Goldman illegal scholar at Santa Clara University he described the lawsuit is terrible and argue that there was a p._r.. Aspect to the filing. I don't understand why this would be considered a bad thing or why they think it was weird or even why Google thinks it was weird cheese presidential candidate she was just involved in a debate and her search went up astronomically she was trying to capitalize on it as any political candidate would do by getting more and more advertising out to people who may be searching for her and looking for actual information about her because let's face it when you go to <hes> really any search engine and you type hype in any of these presidential candidates what you're going to get unless you absolutely know exactly what their official website is. What you're going to get is a lot of weird articles from random new sources they could could be good bad indifferent and you should see all of those because in all honesty when you're trying to vote you don't vote based on what the candidate is telling you? I know a ton of people do that you shouldn't you should never vote based stone. What the political candidate is saying? You should vote based on what the political candidate has actually done because a lot of times what they're telling you and what they're promising you. If you go back into their records you can see that they went the opposite direction for their entire career so you should definitely be looking at all those articles that are popping up all the strange crazy articles and stuff like that but a lot of the crap that you're going to get is also Mile High B. S. so you're going to get a lot of stuff. That really shouldn't even exist just especially when you will you have somebody like Tulsi Gabbard who is not one of the front runners. She is nowhere near being one of the front runners. She's one of the more sane people who's running on the Democrats. I'd still won't vote for because me and her disagree on a couple of dealbreakers so I still wouldn't vote for but she's one of the more sane candidates which is probably why she so so low in the polling but she was very very heavily being googled after those debates any candidate as I said is going to capitalize on that they are going to go out out there and their campaign is going to start pumping out advertising to lead people away from all those crazy articles that show up on search engines and take you directly to their website take you directly to their youtube videos or their social media or something like that because they want you to actually have direct contact with the candidate that you're searching for and not weird bizarre articles that are coming up from random blogs and media sources because the biggest problem is random blogs people will go to these random blogs and they'll say oh well. This must be truth. It's like Bob's political blog well. If Bob's political blog doesn't like her. There's nobody really stopping Bob's political blog from saying whatever he wants so you're gonNA pump as much advertising as you can too key people away from Bob's political blog and get them over to Tulsi actual website okay so that's pretty much. You're trying to cut off there. I'm glad that she sewing. I'm glad that she did that. I don't like the fact that Google has this much control over any election action whether it be presidential whether even be a foreign election if it's somebody else's elections. I don't like the fact that Google has this much control over elections. It's creepy is super creepy. I hope she wins this and I hope she gets every dollar that she sewing for because what from what I understand it was like she ciller fully fifty million dollars. It's ridiculous amount like that. I don't even know if it's in there <hes> and if we're going to be completely honest here I'm not gonNA go into comments. It's <hes> if we're if I'm going to be completely honest here. This isn't going anywhere. We all know. This isn't going anywhere <hes> even if it does eventually go somewhere the election is going to be over by the timing really gets any traction or anything like that and I am not seeing anything. I know the other day when I I pulled up. This article said that she sued for fifty million dollars I do not see yeah. I don't see anything else. Lawsuit makes unconventional legal arguments. That's okay. I'm GonNa read this again. This is <hes> heiress technica in this is another portion of the article. It's lawsuit makes unconventional legal arguments. The I count of Gabbard lawsuit accuses Google violating the First Amendment of the Constitution the first amendment bars governments from infringing freedom of speech and generally gives private parties why latitude decide which content publish but Gabbard argues that the first amendment constrains Google because the company has has dedicated its platform for public use and in public benefit inviting the public to utilize Google is a forum for Free Speech Lugo serves state actor by performing and exclusively and traditionally public function by regulating free speech within within Public Forum and helping to run elections gathered complaint doesn't cite any legal precedents backing up this rather expand expansive interpretation of the First Amendment and there are a number of precedents pointing in the opposite direction in the words of legal scholar Jonathan Peter's Court so far have held the private online services service providers or not state actors for First Amendment Purposes Gabriel Maller also points out to get the Gabbard will need to contend with section to thirty of the Communications Decency Act which gives online service providers brought immunity for their decisions about whether to publish content content when their platforms okay well that actually wow that changes the whole damn story doesn't it <hes> in all honesty what this means here is if she were to win this this <hes> this lawsuit and again like saying I'm fairly certain she's not going win this lawsuit. It would be nice but I highly doubt it. What is actually going to do is going to have broader implications in the future for other online platforms and I'm talking about socially so facebook twitter <hes> Google plus? It doesn't exist anymore does it. I don't think so but you to all these places this could actually directly affect them because what she was saying there is the exact same argument that everybody's making against <hes> twitter and facebook and etcetera etcetera who are banning a lot of political content a lot of content that isn't stupid. You know what I'm saying <hes> so this could have much wider implications. I have not heard a darn thing about this sense and I'm kind of wondering why not this is not one of those things that really made it out there like it didn't make it into like the evening news or anything like that and it should have really should have because when you think about it at this context this could be a very important lawsuit. If this even stands hands this could be very important lawsuit and if it moves quickly it could it could rocket her up in <hes> in the standings so this is actually this might not be a bad move on her part so we'll we'll have to see what happens <hes>. I would like to follow this. I'm hoping that we're going to get some follow ups like I said I have not seen this. In many places I initially saw it on Youtube. Believe it or not and I went and looked at it because I wanted to see what it was all about and this is the the article that I got. It has changed a little bit because like I said when I found that the other day it actually said that she was suing Google for fifty million dollars but that seems to have been erased from the entire article. I am not seeing that anyway so with that being said we're GONNA move on and we are going to move onto N._B._C. or C._n._B._C.. House passes to your debt ceiling and budget deal saying sending it to the Senate you guys are going to have to <hes> bear with my coughing and stuff. I do apologize. This is what happens when you go live and unfortunately when I when I edit I am able to edit out a lot of coughing and sneezing and sniffling and when I need to take a water and stuff but when you go live I can't take any of that out so I do need to take a sip of water so hang on for a minute. Okay I apologize okay. I'm not going to spend a whole lot of the on <hes> Bulla. I'm not going to spend a lot of time on this particular article. I just kind I want to make sure that people are aware that in fact happen again. This is C._N._B._C. House passes to your debt ceiling and budget deal sending it to the Senate. The House on Thursday pass a bill to raise the U._S. debt ceiling and set budget levels for two years taking a step toward avoiding calamity that threatens to disrupt the economy. The Democratic held chamber approved the measure in a two eighty four to one forty nine vote Democrat voted to nineteen sixteen in favor of the Bill Republicans opposed it by one hundred thirty to sixty five margin even after President Donald Trump. Around urged the House G._O._P.. To support it earlier Thursday the One independent in the House also voted against the bill. It's s discretionary spending at about at about one point three seven trillion in fiscal twenty twenty and slightly higher in fiscal twenty twenty one the agreement suspends the U._S. borrowing limit for two years the house votes to send the measure to the Senate which is which is expected to pass it in the incoming days intended to trump's desk. The president is expected to sign it Congress hope to lift the debt ceiling before set before four September when Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin warned the U._S. could run out of ways to pay its bills that prospect risks that debt default which would rattle the U._S.. Global economies passing the bill would also avoid sequester automatic across the board spending cuts that take place next cheer Congress still has to pass separate appropriation bills to avoid a government shutdown before funding lapses at the end of September both Democratic and Republican Congressional Leaders Secure secured what they point two as a win the deal includes Ross parody and spending ending high or defense and domestic non-defense programs at the end of the day we need to sit there and as a country and admit it signed to stop spending at some point in time. We need to actually cut spending <hes> <HES> I. I don't think that's going to happen in my lifetime. Especially when we have an entire generation of people who are screaming for everything in their lives to be completely taken care of by the government which is going to amount in astronomical quantities spending <hes> <hes> astronomical taxes the whole nine yards and we're still not going to have enough money so we're going to end up having to borrow more and more the debt ceiling is going to go through the roof and we are going to see debt like we have never seen before in our lives. If any of that stuff goes through at some point in time we need to stop wanting the government to be our baby daddy and actually cut spending. We need actually cut spending. That's not how you get yourself out of debt. I mean if you've got you know if you've got alone. Let's say and you take out another loan to pay that loan. Did you solve your problem or did you just move your problem somewhere else yeah like I said. I didn't have a whole lot to say about this one. I just want to make sure that you guys knew that it did happen. I know it probably was big news. I haven't been spending a whole hell of a lot of time on the T._v.. This week because you know I'm going to <hes> I'm going to be heading to school next week. not this coming week with the week after is when school starts for May so I am in panic time and I am at maximum levels of stress so moving on we are at San Business facebook will pay an unprecedented five-billion-dollar penalty over privacy breaches and as people on the facebook Page said it's not enough and ain't none of us going to see a dang name of it okay as I said this is C._N._N.. Business the Federal Trade Commission announced a five billion five billion dollar settlement with facebook on Wednesday resolving sweeping investigation by regulators into how the company lost control over massive troves of personal data data mishandled. It's communications with users is the largest fine F._C._C. history and yet still about a month's worth revenue for baseball coli. Oh my God the little robot boy is really rolling in the Dow. <hes> the deal comes amid growing calls in Washington for greater transparency and accountability for technology companies whose power over social social movements as well as personal information has increasingly come to be seen as dangerous by politicians users and even WanNa facebook's co-founders yet dude social media is just like the worst thing ever. It used to be fun. Social media used to be fun. I mean I'm you know I I am old as dirt. I remember like mice base and all that other other stuff. You know everybody was Thomas Friend. You know I remember all that stuff. I my twitter account. You guys are not GonNa believe this but my twitter account that I use for for all of this the reason that the name doesn't match up with breath. What I'm doing is mostly because of the fact that I've had that twitter accounts twitter began like literally I signed up for that account and twitter was just a blue screen with a box on it and it said that put in your status and I had no idea what to do with I have to see if I can find my first tweet worse tweet ever 'cause I had no idea what he was doing with? It and I remember I posted up something. I didn't understand what it was about now. I just completely abandoned it for like years and then all of a sudden John One day I figured out how to use it like gave back and started using and I'm like somebody's grandma when it comes to this stuff it's like I'm into computers I mostly into the hardware side of it I repair computers in cell phones and stuff like that <hes> but when it comes to this kind China crap. I'm sorta like somebody's grandma. I need to have one of those grand pads I really do it's terrible and here I am if y'all could see by setup right. Now I've got I still use a desktop computer so I'm sitting here at my desktop computer. That's where we're eating all my news articles from and then in front of me. I have my laptop computer so that I can watch the twitch page and I can do other things with social media and I've got this boom arm sticking out of the side of my computer with my little round microphone hanging off the end of it but I'm really still need granddad. Social media is just the worst thing ever it really is. We have gone over my discussions about social media and the past there is so much wrong with it. There's just so much wrong with it and we've got a whole generation of kids. It's coming up right now where their entire goal in life is to be famous on Youtube. <hes> people are apparently having entire careers based on instagram and things of that nature and I don't have a problem with that. I know a lot of people <hes> they kinda get crappy about the fact that people actually have career is on instagram and stuff like that. If you can make money doing it fricken do it Dang. I ain't GonNa hold against you if you can. You can actually make money on social media good for you that is excellent for you but it should not be your goal in life because it only happens to how to a very lucky few. It does not happen to just about everyone. If you're a using social media. You better be using it because you enjoy it. You have to have some kind of reasoning for it like I have a personal instagram account Dami pictures my dog and my Gardner in there who cares about the angle make any money on that crap my friends care mostly my friends up north and really that's what social media started out with as you know I use social media in theory to stay in touch with my friends who are you know from where I grew up and that's what it was supposed to originally before and it has turned into a monster. It really has turned a monster kind of it. It's GonNa tie into an article that we're going into later about the big tech <hes> but it has turned into a place where people were on their businesses and in all honesty facebook can destroy your business. If you make one hiccup or you do one thing that they don't like they can completely destroy your business. Are you aware that do you know that that can actually happen that has happened where they hit one button in your entire. Your entire businesses just gone. This is where we are. We're stopping this. Can you imagine imagine where the world would be actually just think about any time that twitter facebook or anything has crashed for like any amount of time. Even if it was ten minutes to an hour everybody's going out of their freaking minds because they can't taking on facebook or they can't get onto twitter or whatever it is shutdown guys. This is getting horrible. People are getting their news from nowhere but facebook and like we have said before the social media companies they kind of gear what they're putting on your feed to your interest. You're only seeing what you want to say and I think a lot of the problems that are going on in the world right now are because everybody's getting older information on social media. We used to read newspapers. We used to watch the news now. We're getting it if at facebook and twitter where it's being handpicked and hand fed to us and you're being told what you WanNa hear and your uring all the stuff especially you know about your quote unquote enemies who you know fifteen years ago we're not our enemies. They were people we disagreed with but they weren't are quote unquote enemies now all of a sudden they're our enemies and you're hearing all this stuff in and you're finding out about the other side and I don't care if you're right left or center year hearing talk about the other side or the other sides that is complete horse puckey and nobody wants to admit it. Nobody nobody wants to admit that they're wrong. Nobody wants to admit that they fell into that echo chamber but we did every single one of his dead. We all fell for this and now the only reason that facebook really exists. I mean if you take a look at the platform. A lot of people will sit down and be like well. How do you get that kind of money? Running social media running a social media eighty site like facebook will you get it from things like advertising and selling people's Information and etcetera etcetera etcetera. There's a ton of ways that facebook can make money and not all of them are kosher. So you look at facebook. I mean there has been reports about <hes> facebook ending people's data and selling people's data who aren't even on facebook. They have a friend who is in their contacts on their cell phone. Who has the FACEBOOK APP up and facebook has their information? That is creepy. Dude that is so creepy but I don't see anybody leaving facebook the other day <hes> when when all this information when this this particular story broke about five billion dollar penalty one of the trending hashtags over twitter was Hashtag. That's why I hate <hes> facebook something along those lines. I think it was that's why I hate facebook and I actually wrote a comment that said let me see actually let me see if I can pull it up. I will come over here and go to twitter and we will find out what it is exactly that I posted <hes> the <hes> yeah here it. Is Everybody bitches about facebook but I don't see many people leaving Hashtag and that's why I hate facebook truth. I mean I only had two people at like that. My favorite might my twitter account is so freaking dad. It's not even funny. I just don't pay attention to it. <hes> I'm trying to use a little bit more but not as much as I used to <hes> but that's the honest to God truth and you've got groups that are coming off in there saying we need to make our own platforms and okay great. You're GONNA form from Your Own Echo Chamber phenomenal not only that there are so many alternate platforms now every time one of these stories comes up here people go we need to make alternative to facebook up to the to the to the will. There's five thousand of the Matt their use them. Don't make any more just use the ones that are out there. Okay most of them suck and their full of people that are awful the only one that I have used. It's an alternative. That's not full of people that are just absolutely awful. Awful is anyway minds okay if you're okay with having porn randomly show up on your fade but you know. I don't think anybody is actually going to form anything. That's going to compete with facebook or twitter any of those. They'RE GONNA try. They're gonNA keep on prying but they're just GONNA be more of the same you're going to have echo chambers at our full of people who they think just because you can you should and you shouldn't so I've left a lot of these platforms. Just because people are awful. I am so tired of just people being evil. I'm done with it. I'm over. It and I just don't deal with any of that anymore. facebook twitter <hes> instagram while this other garbage. It's evil it's horrible stuff. It's evil and yeah youtube and twitter fit right into that and I if I forget the D. monetize my video on Youtube I can I can count on Youtube now. The monitoring it for me but I mean all this stuff is it's evil. It's evil it is shaping people to be what they shouldn't be. It is handing people their answers. We have a generation of people that want to be taken care of by the government who are currently being taken care of by social media. These are people that don't have to put any effort in you. Don't have to sit down and think about things that's why you don't have as many people in the center who are coming out and actually speaking all you're getting his people on the far-right people on the far left and those people are turning around and telling the people in the center. Will you need to make up your mind well. We have. We very much. Have it's just that we're not alway on your wings but you don't know that because of this crap it's dangerous it is horrifyingly dangerous and I think that the situation that our country is in a social matt matter is only going to continue to get worse worse. This is GonNa get absolutely horrible before it gets better and I don't know how it's going to get better. I hope I see it in my lifetime I really do. I don't want to get too much attention on this. I I say that after I already did but I <music> on too much of a tangent on this because this is somewhat feeds into what I was talking about my stream of consciousness was a two weeks ago something like that kind of feeds into the same sort of story so I wanNA move on and we're going to stick with C._N._N.. But this time we are going to C._N._N.. Politics Congress passes nine eleven victim Compensation Fund extension championed by John Stewart hang on one second. I need to take another drink water. My Lips are starting to stick together. This is great and post anyway <hes> again. This is from C._N._N.. Politics the Senate passed a bill ninety seven to two Tuesday that funded the nine eleven victim's Compensation Fund for decades permanently compensating individuals Joel's who were injured during the two thousand one terrorist attacks and their aftermath RESI rescuing people and removing debris under hazardous conditions the house pass the bill earlier this month and President Donald Trump is expected to sign it comedian Jon Stewart and surviving first responders including John Feel Push Congress Passi extension before rewards diminished and the fund expired in two thousand twenty when it became clear that bill would overwhelmingly passed a group of I sh- monitors and Stewart stood in class in the visitors gallery above the Senate floor for tens of thousands of people that are waiting to hear the outcomes outcomes of the the outcome of this. My heart believes with joy knowing that so many people are are going to get help feel told C._N._N.. Everything we asked where we got. I am so glad I am so glad. This is one of those things. I don't understand why this was such contention. I really don't these are the people that we should be taken care of on nine eleven when those buildings were coming down and all that smoke was going through the streets. These guys were running up the stairs. They were running in. They're trying to save lives. They were doing everything they possibly could and if they didn't die that day they're slowly dying now and the fact that we have such a fight on our hands taking care of people like like these first responders owners taking care of our military that we sent over to fight the the wars that came after we should be ashamed of ourselves. We are fighting tooth and nail to take care of every other country in every person from every other country but we can't take care of our own and even suggesting that especially on social media is apparently hate speech. Did you know that I actually got put in facebook jail for that suggesting that we take care of our own before we take care of the rest of the world I got thrown in. I got thrown into facebook jail for hate speech. We should be ashamed of ourselves because of that. These are people these are the people who are dedicating their lives especially first responders you. You're you know you're you're. E._M._T.'s seize your police. You're firefighters. These are people who have dedicated their lives to doing this kind of thing. I know the police are back and forth in in and out of favour all the time. I don't particularly care about that kind of thing. When you look at something like nine eleven we should unquestioningly be taking care of these people we should the trauma and the hill that these people have gone through the hell that they're currently going through and the hill that their families are going through Oh and will go through in the future? He's ridiculous. We shouldn't have this kind of a fight on our hands. When we're talking about taking care of these people I I just I I don't know is there anything in here but what it is exactly that they get <hes> the original fund from two thousand one to two thousand four distributed over seven billion dollars to compensate the families of over two thousand eight hundred eighty people who died on nine eleven and two thousand six hundred eighty the individuals who were injured according to the Justice Department in Two Thousand Eleven Congress reactivated the Fund and it's twenty fifteen reauthorized for another five years procreating seven point four billion dollars to eight thousands more people the fund was set to stop taking new claims in December twenty twenty the new bill would extend the expiration dates or twenty ninety and cost cost would is the necessary the Congressional Budget Office estimates it will cost about ten billion dollars over the next decade? I'm sorry money wells fat last week. Senator Rand Paul can of Kentucky delayed the bill's this passage criticizing Congress or not offsetting. It's close by not cutting government spending elsewhere Paul and Senator Mike Lay Utah Republican where the only senators to vote against the bill. I completely understand that where he's coming from. I would like to see cuts made elsewhere because it is something else it's being added onto the the astronomical debt that were already in but I don't mind my tax dollars. Go into something like this. There are things that the government does that. I absolutely see over the fact that our tax dollars are going towards that something like this. I have absolutely no problem whatsoever with my tax dollars going to this take care of the first responders in nine eleven in all three locations take care of those first responders they saved lives. They lost loved ones. They lost large quantities of loved ones okay and they're going to deal with this for the rest out of their lives and this shouldn't be like the fight that our veterans have have had to deal with 'cause I understand the fight over <hes> with Vietnam veterans over Agent Orange and things like that I am embroiled in that battle myself I understand and I don't want what is happening with Vietnam veterans to go onto these people and it shouldn't and it's not going to now. Thank you very much sign it get it on money well spent. I don't mind my tax dollars. Go in there and we are going to go ahead I and move on because I feel good about where my tax dollars are going in this particular situation and we're gonNA move onto Reuters where a big tech faces broad U._S. Justice Department antitrust probe the U._S.. Justice Department said on Tuesday it was opening a it was opening board investigation of major digital technology firms into whether they engage in anti-competitive practices the strongest sign the trump administration is stepping up at scrutiny of fake tack the review will look into whether and how market-leading online platforms have achieved market power and engaging practices that have reduced competition cycled innovation or otherwise harm consumers the justice department said in a statement the Justice Department deny that did not identify specific companies but said that the review would consider concerns raised about search search social media and some retail services online and apparent reference to Alphabet Inc Amazon Dot COM INC and Facebook Inc and Potentially Apple Inc a Justice Department spokesman declined to provide a list of companies that would be curtin is Google apple inclined to comment referring to prior statements by executives while facebook and Amazon did not immediately comment facebook fell one point seven percent after hours trading while alphabet fell one percent Amazon was down one point two percent and apple was point four percent lower. The announcement announcement comes a day before the Federal Trade Commission set to announce a five billion dollar penalty for facebook for family to properly protect user privacy Senator Richard Blumenthal Democrat said the Justice Department must now be must now be bold and fearless and stopping big tax misuse of its of monopolistic power to long absent in apathetic enforcers now must prevent privacy abuse anti-competitive tactics innovative roadblocks and other hallmarks of excessive market power. <hes> is one of those things leaves companies own everything they run everything and they are in control of everything your search engines and your social media they pretty much can manipulate elections all over the world however they wanted to go they can pretty much push their or their at least going to try. They're gonNA try really hard and then you've got places like like Amazon and I'm kind of I'm Kinda. Stuck with Amazon. Amazon does own a lot of stuff including twitch of course but you know they <hes> these companies they own a lot of stuff. They running a lot of stuff. They have so much control. They are actually almost their own built in governments. If you think about it it's like almost like their negating their negating actual governments I I don't know in June. Reuters reported the trump administration was gearing up to investigate whether Amazon apple facebook and alphabets abets Google's misuse misuse their massive market power setting up what could be an unprecedented wide range in probe of some of the world's large companies a person briefed on the matter said the justice review may also include some state attorneys general the Justice Department said review is to assess the competitive conditions in the online marketplace in an objective fair-minded manner and to ensure Americans have access to free markets in which companies compete in the merits to provide services that users what Reuters reported on May thirty versus just department of the Justice Department was preparing an investigation of Google to determine whether the tech giant Brooke Antitrust Law Democrats and Republicans on Capitol Hill alike are expressing growing concerns about the size of largest tech firms and their market power Democratic presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren has called for breaking up companies like Amazon Apple Google and facebook and unwinding and unwinding prior acquisitions last week the House Judiciary Committee's antitrust panel press executives from the fourfirms about their competitive practices and noted that Google facebook Amazon and had had arising share of key markets and that's true and they buy things and they change things up and it's some of the stuff is really creepy some of the stuff that we've seen going on and a lot of stuff that people want is just turnaround CEO. It's you know that's that's nothing. It's just a you know. It's just a conspiracy theory. It ain't it ain't I mean think about what would happen today. If Amazon disappeared for about a month or two nobody would know where the hell to get anything. An Amazon changes so much stuff up Amazon can be creepy like I don't know if you guys have prime accounts and we have a prime account and I noticed I used to order these drank mexes. Okay the just these little ice tea you drink mixes for when I'm sitting in front of the computer I used to order them from Amazon and I use my Amazon prime account. I got my price. They would ship them for free. I would get the next day Yada Yada Yada and then all of a sudden one day I went in and apparently had order <hes> I had to pay for a second prime account was Amazon Prime Pantry now. I didn't pay for it but apparently they wanted me to do that or I had to pay double the price for those little liquid things that kind of things creepy I mean why are they doing met. They know everything that they shouldn't know about you. I brought this up at one point. I don't remember if I did this video or if I talked about it on on facebook or what but I had gone in to <hes> one of the the large home improvement stores and all I wanted to do I was I was kind of wandering around my dog with me and we were just sort of wandering around and I had this idea in my head. I said you know what I'm going to go down and I'm going to check for <hes>. Hardware for my my bathroom cabinets I just kind of want handles and everything to to open everything 'cause I don't have any handles on them right now and I thought you Nancy what they've got if they have something interesting. Maybe I'll pick it up. Never did a never done online search for that stuff. It was just the thought randomly popped into my head while he was there man. Let me go take a look and see what they have can't wait so I went down on. I took a look and I spent five ten minutes looking at what they had going through their racks. Checking the praises things like that now wants. Did I look it up on my a computer. Not once that I look on my phone didn't do any of that for six weeks after I did that I had advertisements for hardware of that. Nature on facebook and twitter are and bunch of other places <hes>. It freaked me out big time. It really freaked me out big time and I kinda looked a little sideways at my phone because that's the only way that that could have been found out. I do have a facebook APP. <hes> I do have Amazon on my phone. I have a android device. I have a Samsung and I'm looking at. It and I'm like did my phone. Tell them where I was that it tell them. What I'll I was spending time in 'cause I was in? I was in a large home improvement store. I could have been looking at plants because I buy most of my plants. It's this particular place <hes> I could've been looking at power tools. I most of my power tools have come from this place and I I have. I have quite a few power tools <hes> I could have. I'm looking at lumber. I could've been looking at piping could've been looking at <hes> home improvement stuff and they've got a whole section back there that's carpeting and toilets and sank and <hes> window treatments and things like that I could have been looking at any thing in the store but I was is getting advertisements for the hardware for cabinets for bathroom cabinets specifically and I was like that is weird. That is weird. That freaked me out so hard. I'm hoping it's stuff like that that they're gonNA start looking into <hes> like I said earlier you could have no account on facebook. You could be one of these people that does not have a facebook account facebook. Has Your information if somebody in your our contacts list on your phone has the facebook APP on their phone. They have your information facebook twitter all of them. They have your information formation whether you want them to have it or not all the advertising that you say well. I'm not GONNA say all. I'd say probably about like eighty. Five eighty to eighty five percent of the advertising online has something to do with stuff that you've searched for online. I don't know I don't know if this happens to a lot of other people. I'm sure it does but you'll go to a website. You'll actually buy something okay. I'm like I have said a gazillion times already. I'm going to law school <hes> in not this week but the following wake I have pretty much bought an entire wardrobe full of new clothes because I have to dress a certain way at certain times and my first week of school I have to dress a certain way and it's clothing that I've never had to wear before so I'm buying a lot of blazers on a lot out of <hes> button-down shirts and and things of that nature and I'm getting tons and tons of advertising for stuff that I've actually already purchased. I'm getting a lot of emails from the places that I purchase them from Belkin and things like that <hes> Nordstrom and <hes> what is it zoo lily and a bunch of other stuff places that I didn't order them as well because I didn't order anything from Zulu Ellie but I did order from Nordstrom and I did order from belt getting advertisement ah advertisements for this stuff and it stuff. I actually already ordered. So why am I getting advertisements for stuff. I already ordered you know but a lot of the advertisers that you'll see even when you go to my website because I have Google advertising on my website and a lot of the advertising you will see the pops up on their has something to do with you. It's websites that you've used before it's websites you've searched for before <hes> it's associated with stuff that you have searched before. That's how they're getting all your information formation. They're they're gathering your data. They're taking all this stuff and they're selling it to the highest bidder so that you're getting all these advertisements geared directly towards you and that's how all these companies make money. That's how they make a buck pretty much okay anyway. I WanNa talk to you guys about something completely different. I WanNa talk to you about the <hes> bonus episode that I put out as a video and he'd find something else to put up. GonNa put my website just to stare at <hes>. I want to talk to you guys about the bonus video and bonus <hes> episode that I put up this week and I was talking about <hes> I I even put it up see I. I even put it up on the website here. Okay pause okay guys. This is <hes> A re recording after the livestream of unfortunately there was apparently a major malfunction when I was doing the livestream that I did not catch until I was trying to do the editing editing and I'm glad that I caught it. There apparently was a video playing over the ZANE video and there's double audio from two different videos so anyway. I'm going to try to talk about what I was trying to talk about that. I have to remove from the livestream and if you were in the livestream Oh my God I am so sorry. I did not know that that was happening. Apparently there was an issue with the website that I was sitting on anyway. I wanted to talk to you guys about the voters video and and <hes> podcast that I put up where I was discussing the name changes and everything so I have actually been doing my my little market research is best I can the people on social media are one hundred percent against is changing the name okay. That's great at no point in time I going to change the name on any of the social media especially facebook. <hes> reminds me we all that the name is going to stay the same is going to remain whiskey Tango Foxtrot which is the name of my website which is also not going change. I'm also going to keep up <hes> Uncle Sam with his finger up now. I I also did not realize I keep forgetting with the podcast I don't use Uncle Sam as part of the logo so for those of you who are not part of our social media that is kind of our little mascot is Uncle Sam the bird up. I'm sure you probably deduce that but I figured I throw that out there just in case so that stuff is not going to be changing. I have not decided guided as of yet what I'm going to do as far as video channels and as far as the podcast with changing the name the reasonable this came up. I had a lot of people got really angry at me and accused me of going p say and all this other stuff and that's not the case of what I'm doing here. I'm running a news analysis podcast which is also being broadcast and video and I'm not getting <hes>. I'm not getting the views and the lessons when I when I compare the podcast and the videos to the traffic that I'm getting on social media and it websites they are severely not matching up. I'm getting a lot of traffic on my website. I'm getting way lots of traffic on social media and those people are actually being pulled in according to them. They're being pulled in by the name but it looks like I don't know if it's turning people off when they're looking video channels I know on the video channels. Were hard to find like I said in the bonus video it's that Tina fey movie kind of makes it difficult for people to find me at all okay so we're not very very searchable and because I changed my content when I first started the youtube channel my content was drastically different and I have changed it up since then because it's not what I started out doing. There is not what I wanted to do. I don't want this to turn into yet. Another channel where we sit there and make fun of other people's videos and stuff like that that's that's not what I want to do with my time online and <hes> everything has kind of changed and the views have dropped off the download the podcast broadcaster not growing as much as I would like to see them grow so I'm trying to try to tweak things because the name doesn't really tell anybody anything. <hes> the PODCAST is called Whiskey tangos rundown. It really doesn't tell you a whole heck of a a lot and I'm really not good at titling thanks. I'm still trying to work on whether or not I'm GONNA change it. Whether I'M GONNA keep it the same just hope that it grows as far as the video channels. I'm growing at bit shoot and Utah Gun Exchange. I am not growing at all all at Youtube so I'm trying to figure out what I have to do to fix this stuff just to grow a little bit more of an audience and make sure that somebody's actually listening so as far as that is concerned. I don't know what we're doing yet. I'm GONNA continue with a little bit of market market research. I'M GONNA continue to take people suggestions and things of that nature <hes> as of right now though we're not changing the name but we may sometime in the future of course I will give you guys a heads up if I go ahead and do that as far as chaining up the format. The feedback that I got from people is that they would prefer that I did not change up the format so I'm not going to we're going to continue to be a news analysis and we are going to have per the suggestion of some people. We're GONNA have a little bit more of these chat sessions where I might talk about an issue or something along those lines. I don't know how I'm going to do that. I don't know if I'm going to do less stories per podcast or if I'm going to do <hes> like I did with the Stream of consciousness bonus episode where I just make it a bonus episode okay so. I don't know what I'm GonNa do yet. It may depend on the week because some weeks. There's more news than others so I not quite sure what we're going to be doing there. I think we're probably onto a little bit more of that where I do less stories and you know do like half news analysis in half discussing issues during the election cycle because like I said the election cycles kind of weird as far as news stories and everything and ninety percent of the stuff that comes out is not worth discussing thanks. It's just crap so we'll figure out what we're doing with that. As far as we're you know as far as the election year is going I do start school not this coming week but the week after so things could get really strange range anyway as of right now. We're going to keep things away they are there might be just unlimited tiny tweak as far as the formatting but I don't know how how bad that's GonNa get anyway guys.
