Aerobic Adaptation & Facebook Live

"Welcome to leave your podcast. Something different today I recorded facebook live last night. And this is a audio of that so it's GonNa be a bit hit and miss. There's going to be big twitter on looking at other things or entering questions from comments But hopefully you get something out of these cover. It's all about aerobic adaptation and increasing your fat burning and oxygen burning capacity so that you can produce energy with less oxidative stress so basically using you'll Arabic system much more than your anaerobic system. I mentioned this many Tom so I want go over it again. Here it is. I've enjoyed all right. So really WANNA get into aerobic capacity and what that is all about because there's a lot of confusion a lot of basic principles that pay a aware of but they don't know what they're actually doing when a do it. So let's say something like a base face so when you're building base a yeah you just gotta go long and slow and that's what we've gotTa do and people do that but Moto told about the adaptation that happens and then how you progress that adaptation to benefit you Particularly told me into age-group who are training full long distance triathlons a anything half on man up to a non man or even ultras longer events like that. Because that's way aerobic capacity fat adaptation. Really coming into the at sign where it's really important that we minimize the stress by using more oxygen and Moffat for fuel and kate the stress levels low so that we're feeling strong towards the end of the rice still so Jamie's distracting me day by myself in the background But she's telling me it's working so that's good so what we need to be thinking about is what's happening with something like that. Vice building face. I was going to look at some not. The base building is is that aerobic adaptation. And what's happening when we do math so everybody a lot of people that are way of math principles. Maximum Aerobic function developed by Dr Phil. Matheson back in the late seventy s and hey laws and trained mark Alan using this method. That if you build up your aerobic capacity then your ability to perform over endurance events increases greatly. And the reasons that I'm going to go through he that they increase performance increases is through These count myself anyway. So what's happening so aerobic means using a lot of oxygen and technically pretty much everything that we do other than about like a seven second. Spring is aerobic because we are using oxygen. It's just this ratio of using more oxygen or our using less oxygen less oxygen using other pathways such as glucose dominant pathways and less oxygen. So we know that things like lactate produced as that ratio changes so as we use less oxygen from Ireland and all the one that can say and he me. Thanks God so let me not so. That's one thing that's happening building these pillories. We have building the ability of Amata to be more aerobic so the CA- pillories increasing in number and volume to take more oxygen out of the blood. And then the oxygen from the blood into the muscles the muscles and then into the next lower level down right down into the Mac- Andrea so then in the Monaco Andrea. If there's more oxygen in there they can use more fat for fuel so this is a two part answer where fat burning and oxygen usage go hand in hand so staying at that lower level and building a base phase where increasing oxygen carrying pillories which you can do through the O. Two Max efforts and that sort of thing as well which is why they are good have their place and people get results and then not something to never do but then when it comes to the fat burning aspect of this study other side of the coin what needs to be done is optimize the monarch Andrea where the energy made full burning fat to do that. We need to stay in a very aerobic state and so basically we need to be using a lot of oxygen not using the ANAEROBIC system as much so always still using oxygen. It's always aerobic by the air ANAEROBIC system as much by using more glucose. If we're going harder which is wine that base phase. You WANNA use Cape Too hot right. That you know is staying aerobic which is around your maximum aerobic function. So that's math. Hundred and Eighty Monitor. Age Is your base starting-point heart rate number for you to then decide if that is a good point for you and fills just put out a book yesterday which I recommend you go and check out. And he's written plenty of things about one hundred ninety monitor age as a starting point. But that's what it is. It's a starting point. And he's written about how their variables if you've been seeking injured then you'd probably need to take a few bates off that if your if you have a big deficiency syndrome which is a phrase that Phil coined a longtime ago as well With basically you have done so much anaerobic work. Let's say you've done so much work using glucose in low oxygen state that you have trained your muscles day trained your muscles to using fat for fuel. So therefore if they using more glucose there's more biproduct more stress you can't go as long as efficiently

Google is in effect negotiating with the Commerce Department on while ways behalf. That's according to a senior official at while way. NPR's arthy Shahani has that story. The fates of wow way and Google are intertwined. While way is a leader in creating next generation wireless networks on. It's the world's number two maker of smartphones. Google provides support for Android the popular operating system, the US government ban against wow, way, also blocks Google from giving security updates to millions of existing why phones and for misuing Android licenses in the future in an interview this week with why chairman Liangwa NPR asked him, how his company would resolve the problem of losing access to Google software whose job. Explainer 159: Who is Slovakias new president?

"Unlike its neighbours in central Europe, Slovakia, risen, foamy socio political term, but it all changed in February loss yon Kuchiak leading Slovakian journalist found murdered on Sunday evening, please. In Slovakia investigating the murder of a journalist and his partner young was investigating government corruption. When and his fiancee were killed the first murder of a journalist is history. The killings triggered the biggest and to government protests in thirty years and fools the country's long seven prime minister will fit. So to resign. Antennas on chip I'm Susanna. I'm a lawyer is soda. Soft-spoken liberal in a single mother. She's ten Slovak politics completely on its head. And she's done that without any previous experience of governmental diplomacy. No mean feat in a country that's been dominated by conservative career politicians fits suit. And now she's president. How did this happen? In you opaque tissues. Not trust Augusta poem. They will be time for detailed analysis later. But I think that what resonated with voters was that throughout my campaign. I've always been truthful and candid and try to answer every question post to me, even when it was difficult, and this is something that Slovak's simply on use to Q V clam chuckled to the made maiden name as an environmental lawyer, but could death on the mass protests that followed prompted her to go into politics is Doug lost knit them. Get through some in little study, the tragic events of last year affected me very deeply. And now the time is ripe for Slovak's to demand and make change Slovak's beginning to cherish, the values of liberty and mutual respect. And they need political leaders who are all Fenwick in representing these values. Do not hold. Now, the Slovak presidency is largely ceremonial role. Of course, but you will still be able to veto bills to approve the formation of governments. But is that enough to tackle the problems facing stuck? Having Brzezinski problem? We'll see a calm city. Limit of honor up Oviously, we are a parliamentary democracy, but nonetheless, the presidential powers quite strong, particularly in the areas of Justice and the rule of law and as president hobby pushing systemic change in these areas. So some key offices like prosecutor's office or police can become more independent of political interference Sposa ball duck bullets bullets comfortably. What about your opponent motto smash smash chef chevik as vice president of the European Commission. He's obviously also strongly pro Europe. And yet his campaign has affectively failed. That we missed it. Another visa Willie hollow by Hove nem. Call dober- healthy Amata, I consider him to be very accomplished diplomat. And he obviously has much more experience in matters of foreign policy than me. But I'm better acquainted with the situation here at home as a lawyer, I've been helping ordinary people with their problems all my life. Also, I felt like he was reluctant to take a critical look at our current problems. And I think people needed him to acknowledge the reality of spoken on St. slim seizure, the procedural portrait. What lessons can the rest of Europe learn from this presidential campaign and from your success. Financially emotionally, I should share Velka Obeit now in this country and beyond a growing demand for honesty, and for lack of a better word normality in politics. There's a lot of emotions in politics these days, but the predominant ones are fear and hate them. I think we need to create more positive emotions in politics. More empathy. We need to restore people's trust in politicians. We need to show them that politicians are there to do good. This is the lesson that can be drawn from my success. Of the coastal now, but he's to acquire. Troppled Obas, liberal views and has supported gay rights will no doubt rankle with more conservative Slovak's. But her election is a sign of change this country and above all shows that a political outsider doesn't always have to be populist or an extremist for more and broader Slava. I'm lexie.

"Rick Amata and Scotty only on NewsRadio eight thirty K H v h. Welcome back. We are having a great conversation with good friend. Randy Roth in regard to Qadam Randy. I think arguably this is going to be the issue that draws most attention on November sixth. I think you're probably right. The implications are great. And and thank you for being as to. Why is it can we chat a little bit about process procedure within the confines of the big square building? How did we even get to the point where this is appearing on the ballot? Oh, boy, talk about sausage making the final Bill that that has the language that we're now supposed to be voting on never had a public hearing last because I find it hard to believe, but somehow or not true that silly process. They have over there. They had hearings on other wordings, but they never had carrying on. What finally was passed which I think is problematic. And and if the thing is balanced by the courts, I personally think that would be a better reason than what has been teed up for the court to decide which is their failure to use the word tax on what is obviously a tax provision. Speaking of which where are we with the supreme court, and where we would that process. Randy. I believe they're going to announce a decision tomorrow. I personally am not optimistic that they're going to invalidate con. Am. You know, it's kind of getting into the weeds in deciding from a legal standpoint. Whether you have to have the word tax and whether surcharges close enough to the word tax and those sorts of issues personally, though, I'm I'm ready to let the people vote on this. I to me it's just so obvious that this is a bad idea. And I think the affordable Hawaii coalition has been such a good idea of informing the public that. I I'm quite confident that it's going to be rejected, or at least, that's my expectation. And so I think let's let's just vote on it and move on. I've mentioned before several reasons as to why Corey and proponents of what they say to us. And it seems Randy that the overriding message is that a white teachers it is the worst place in the state through rankings to be a teacher teachers have to go into their own pocket books in order to supply their own students when they come up short. They shouldn't have to do that. Go ahead. I just going to say, no, I agree that I don't know if it's the worst place I'd have to know about every other place. But it wouldn't surprise me. If this is the worst place for teachers, but the pay is is nothing if you will compared to the way they're treating in in the system at school system should be all about the teachers. It is the budgeting process should begin by asking them, what their priorities are in the focus of everybody else in the system ought to be figuring out how to use that three billion dollars a year to give the teachers that they respect the time the resources to freedom encouragement everything they can for the teachers to let the teachers figure out what their students needs. And then make whatever adjustments are necessary in order to address those needs. Obviously there have to be statewide standards. But that's not we're talking about right now people outside the schools are trying to tell the teachers how to do their job. And I think that's the primary reason why the teachers who do leave each year. I think that's the primary region reason the pay is not bad for people at the front end of the scale. It's terrible for people who have been teaching ten to fifteen years or so, and then it gets not as bad as teachers progress. I I'm for teachers, and and I think if we change this governance structure from this top down bureaucracy into what governor in the school board chair and the superintendent or calling schooling. I think teachers would be the big winners. I think they would be a lot of than what they currently are. And I think it's unfortunate that their own union is standing in the way that I spending all of its energy on this very misleading campaign that they're waging trying to ask. Econom-? Once again, remind us of the group that we should Google and how we can learn more Randy, it's it's the affordable Hawaii coalition, and there's just a ton of information out there, and they've got a whole bunch of people who have bowling tier to be speakers. Whether it be for rodeo rodeo. Or any kind of energy group? They're really just doing a terrific. And then you've got some freelancers. If you will like meet Joe can't underclass has a terrific piece in this morning star advertiser fishers, have attended I wouldn't have to take a look Joe and Tina over at the grassroots should've been doing a terrific job in the four Forber democratic governors who have made that very clever ads on TV. A whole lot of people that have gotten involved in this. Because the thing that we share is that we recognize this is just a bad idea before we go this is because we have an election coming up governor, David Ige as seems to be almost solitary as a political leader who is a ardent supporter of conham. Why is that? Well, I in the quick answer. I don't know. But I strongly suspect that he has gotten a lot of support from HDA especially for years ago. I think they're supportive him was a major reason why I prevailed he's got their endorsement now I early on in the process the agreed to support what they're trying to do with this. So I don't understand politics. Very well. But I think it's it's a political thing and once good politicians make promises they they try to keep those promises if probably if the polls are are anywhere near accurate governor is going to be reelected. And for me there. There's there's a real real good size of that. In the sense that that he has said all the right things about school in paramedics he hasn't taken action. But he said all the right things at that school empowerment and only recently, he appointed the school board chair who really knows what that is who has lived that who is an action oriented person, Catherine pain, who I think is the perfect school for chair for transforming this, you know, top down bureaucracy into a schools centered system and the relatively new superintendent has publicly said she sports, so it's not a silver bullet it's going to be a slow process doing the transformation. It's gonna require a lot of support from the public. But I think the the stars a million politically to have that kind of transformation which I think would make the teachers in the system dramatically happier than what they currently. And frankly, it wouldn't surprise me after that happens. The legislature wanted to about a larger share of the general fund for public education right now, I think giving more money to this Healey is you'd by the legislature is as tantamount to putting more more water into a bucket filled with holes, very well. Put Randy I cannot thank you enough for taking time today. You.

"Rick Amata, hand Scotty, be only on NewsRadio eight thirty K h v h. Well, it's like ACDC morning. I think so. And you know, we just got word guns and roses will become into town as well. We're talking about concerts just came in this morning. No kidding DNR. One one of the planning on doing. They're going to be let me give you the right information here. It's going to be in December at the stadium and at the stadium the stadium. Yeah. I'll let me see. December eight Saturday, December eighth Saturday. Gosh guns N roses. There you have it. Eugene our guy. No, no. Hey, no, no. No. Okay. A very quiet. We're gonna go to Thomas here. Thomas hold on give me just a minute. Or so with we were talking before about ballots votes coming up on the constitutional amendment votes count is. No, however, however, my recollection he's done in two thousand eight when we voted for sale, and that was for not for a state law. But for a county ordinance was a county ordinance for the are you for or against his order is the the amendment said should the director of transportation work into establishing a rail system in Hawaii. We voted fifty point six percent. Yes. Forty seven and change. No. And forty percent roughly blank and immediately. Then there is always reported that it was fifty three point six percent in favor of rail. The blanks became yes. Just like that. Yeah. So he must be a different set of rules that governs, you know, city ordinance versus state because that's exactly what it was. Nobody claimed that they won't by zero point six margin. They they claim that they won with a six percent margin. Fifty three to forty seven. Yep. There you have it, ladies and gentlemen, enough another arrow in your quiver Thomas. We thank you for your patience from why? Nightside allot you Thomas. Hello. Hello. Carl Thomas, you're on the air with Panos or. Yeah. I want to know if you want the government don't meal off still white what you do in school. Cool. Stop the billion for station. What do you can talk all the same one? Wait a minute. We've got somebody. You know, why I think that's the best thing we get so many. Thanks to go. So we gotta start from somewhere. Okay. All right Thomas. Thank you very much for your patience and your point. Yeah. So Thomas, you know, you think that the rail will solve the problem. It's it's an opinion. Unfortunately is not a fact so this is not well, I'm not running for governor mayor, and you know, I did run for mayor. But you know, I I'm just not talking story here. I'm just talking solutions. And unfortunately, yes, I agree with you. We have a severe problem with excessive traffic congestion for a city of our size. Will you folks were couple lane wine? I haven't seventy five nine hundred sometimes to our trips to go to town to work in Waikiki. But the rail is not going to solve that problem. I gotta tell you that it's it's just doesn't fit with our way of life and not enough. People will switch to it. And those who will switch are couldn't bus users. So the net benefit will be tiny. Even the CD says if you look at their numbers that the reduction will be. The one percent you cannot feel in one percent reduction in traffic. So it's a lose lose. I'm sorry to say. And of course, we lose the mining the process as far as reporting because you have TA, of course, demanding plans and on the record what is being submitted to the FDA, which is an official statement in document about ridership percentages, even economic impact all of the answer Larry things because now three P is all the buzz does. Right. And so can you kinda sort through that force? What's the reality of what the city and county and in heart is presenting as factual data? I can't we believe what's being reported by them. Well, you can always make the case. But fortunately, the case is not very strong. You really don't need drill transportation for substantial development. Honolulu doesn't have a problem with development. Luke, how the quarter alone copy boulevard developing the complete access absence of rail. So it's only the governor really I think. Mistakenly that keeps saying that. There's a lot of state properties around the Ray line that need to be developed. That's not going to be a good a good avenue for that. Typically, you know, higher income white collar people will probably snatched that apartments because they like to have an alternative a convenience and those apartments, even if they are build affordable within a few years, they'll change hands or they're not going to be affordable anymore. So all these schemes that they are based on the transit system to do all these benefits. Schemes market will take over in Hawaii forces support. Very strong for real estate to become very expensive when it central. So again, it's not a project for the people in for long term guarantees. This is a good way for quite a few people to make a lot of money that is for sure, of course, you mentioned the P three which is the public private partnership with at this point for our project. It's a complete smokescreen. Now. In fact, is a disaster that it's a way to fleece, the taxpayer in a different form. PPP's are supposed to be there. When there is a possibility for a reasonable profit, meaning utility type, rob not not not a windfall type travel utility..
