"Build something for the greater good it is not based solely on one man. And why do all the work as the face of the program. If you're not going to get the credit for it. The patrick stump paradox. Dan why do you want to be the lead singer doing all the work. Getting all the numbers leading your team to victory. If you know that there's probably just going to be somebody else on your team who the media pays attention to more because it's alabama. We don't want that for you. You don't want that for you. Come to georgia. Be the face of this program. Let's get you in the nfl. Let's win a national championship full. Stop yeah. I enjoyed all of the the hypothetical selling points in the ether there for georgia. They're building a facility. You could be the face of a national championship program. Whereas georgia doesn't win national championships. Georgia doesn't georgia has a facility. Georgia hasn't won national championships. Recent scher bida. If you talk to anybody in college football anybody in the recruiting business. Everybody will tell you that. Georgia's close georgia's close. Kirby smart was there in the very beginning with nick. Saban if the entire alabama recruiting pitch is built around. Nick sabin you can make a very good counterargument that kirby smart was there. He saw how it was done. He saw what. Nick sabin did with regard to scouting how we attract talent how he targeted the right talent for his system also for the culture of his program and i think we have seen very early returns on what kirby smart has done thus far absolutely he's building the same thing. Yeah and if you go back and look at the number of times kirby smart has build that winning program to a point where they can beat alabama. It's again hypothetical they have they have yet to even beat alabama on the field. Let alone i think he said thirty one players in the nfl. Alabama's over fifty alabama's over fifty three we're talking multiples now at this point tie so i if you wanna live in the hypothetical georgia is the place for you. Georgia is the close but no cigar program right. Now if you want to be just short of alabama georgia's obviously going to be the program for you. I mean you can be a backup quarterback at alabama and beat georgia as both tua tagovailoa did in the national championship and jalen hurts. Did in the sec. So right let's let's start there then we talk a lot about the nfl and alabama's got fifty six players in the nfl. I believe i saw the statue. Georgia is not quite to that level. You're right. I don't wait. Why don't we talk about alabama quarterbacks at the next level can can we talk about them because after they've left tuscaloosa and coach sabin. Yes let's talk about. Let's talk about quarterbacks. In the nfl from alabama aj mccaren at last check is a backup to has promised. But let's be honest. Who is gonna get hurt to always gets hurt. Jalen hurts counts for oklahoma. At this point he counts for oklahoma at this point. So why are we hanging our hat. Missile you missed a recent first round pick as well sorry back jones yes. Jones has played the nfl yet. He hasn't played now. Is tony jones. The enemy didn't even take ash. We didn't even think mack jones should be in the first route on this show. Well there he was so. Are we hanging our hat. On greg mcelroy and his sirius. Xm radio show. What are we going on here. What are we trying to sell to. What's his name. Goner gutter samson. What are we trying to sell the young gun or simpson that we can paint this portrait for him at alabama as as coming out of college and becoming this. Nfl superstar at the quarterback position because by my from my perspective. Who who is it. Who's a superstar. Who's the analog now the. Nfl draft is a crap shoot. You don't control where you end up. You don't control the coordinator. You don't control the head coach. You don't control the receivers offensive line in the nfl. What you do control is putting yourself in position in college to make millions of dollars as an nfl player. And when you look at what georgia quarterbacks have done matt stafford fantastic. I think he left athens about eight years before kirby smart showed up. that's fine. that's totally good. Matt stafford great quarterback the last time georgia had a first round quarterback make first round money have first-round glory. It was matt. stafford was not matt. Stafford was for a period in time the highest paid rookie in the history of the nfl and fantastic. That's obviously i over the nfl and the capitals the cba. The old cba. That doesn't work like that anymore. As you know but alabama players put themselves in position via terrific play tuscaloosa to be drafted highly in that that comes with the fact that they are playing behind stellar lines. Better than georgia's lines and throwing to stella receivers four first round receivers these past two years not to mention guys like calvin ridley amari cooper. Julio jones also first round talents also making a ton of money also making quarterbacks jobs easier at alabama and in the nfl you have to go back to how long tie. How long do you have to go back to find a first round receiver from georgia. Believe it's aj green. You have to go back to jay green. You do have to go back to asia green. That's i think it's a decade that you now have to go back now kirby smarts fault that it's been that long but when you do look at the the offensive coordinators. Kirby smart has put in place to develop quarterbacks five star quarterback after five star quarterback after five star quarterback showing up to to athens to put on a georgia uniform. And we're talking about a transfer back to washington where he wasn't a superstar was not a high draft pick and jake obese and jake frahm who is good and then he was last good. And that's okay. We recruited jake from here to alabama. Didn't work out and you got a great shot at georgia and lead them lead you to a national championship. But jim chaney james coley where have they gone since leaving. Georgia jim chaney tennissee. And he's now an analyst and james cole believe is the tight ends coach texas a and m. whereas we have mike loxley we have lane kiffin. We have seen sarkissian all power. Five head coaches guys will taken this offense to historic highs whereas. I'm sorry coach now is. Are we trying to recruit gonna come coach telling you who's going to develop simpson telling you coach. Sabin track record identifying coaching talent. That's great governor is a quarterback and if you want to develop as a quarterback one of the things that might spook you out that your offensive coordinator changes every frigging year every freakin year. It's great for nick saban's legacy as the greatest college football coach of all time to know that he could bring in high priced coordinator talent on a moment's notice. He can assemble the pieces and he can still get his team to the national champion because lay level of talent because of coaching acumen. For sure that is a feather in his cap something that no one else is really ever done. Sure.

"You know he was a player, but I went down to Camp I watched him. Dowse here last last summer and and he played. Most of the season is really dinged up and was hurt and Kinda. Bad, but he has that big guy. He can stick his foot in the ground and change direction like you guys to do the great acceleration. Terrific range he is. He is absolutely worth the money they gave him in my opinion and I. Think from this point on. I really think I don't know anything about fantasy football, but if I'm involved in that, and I'm our team. I'm going to grab the sky because right now. He is just hitting his stride. I think he is. He is an awful lot like Julio. In some respects you know then. John Hopkins obviously. The big guy makes all those plays. Get great hands but to me. The Excel Operation Ability. Changed Direction and run after the catch guys like. Terry Gill You know. Amari Cooper, the those are the guys that stand out from me and I just think are pretty special. You know Thomas Don New Orleans had phenomenal. You might Thomas yet, but you know. He's you know. Ron! He's got a great quarterback. They've got a great offensive line. There's a lot of good working parts down there and they they work at get him the ball and he makes place real good player. But to me Amari Cooper Julio Jones? Obviously John De'andre Sarah began. Has that changed direct either runs IOS physical, you know. Yeah, those are the two that I really like I would think Amari is going to really put the League and its here this year. Yeah, does it. Did it surprise you at all that he left? Oakland was allowed to get outta there. No, there was a disconnect there somehow, and he's too big now and I don't know what happened there. I really don't. But I washed him his from his rookie year on and I. Tell coming out of college and I was really curious. I really want to see him. How well he did, and he just net nothing ever really. Nothing really transpired. With them in terms of using utilize him in developing his abilities and whatnot. Yeah, I. Don't know whether they just didn't like the guy or what I mean. I don't know but I do know this. He's wearing needs to be now. You really is in an even last year, but I think to with Mike McCarthy coming down there, too. I think this is really can be an outstanding opportunity for. Yeah, that's right well I know you know a little bit about catching the ball because you were? In College. I heard a story nipple. The trip. And Yeah. Right. Well this is a big strong couldn't run fast Brad. Gets Ball Ron you. Buddy gets everything right Yup. Call six passes yeah. Yeah I heard you had so much torque you. You rip the hamstring off the bone. One time I didn't even know what a hamstring was my entering 'cause. That's true I did not know we're doing those extra. Gina Gina warm-up expert genealogy. I do remember. Yet another player Kinda get on the other end of the rope. It's about my dad had one of those I remember. You said to hold one end of it while he was working out. Yeah, yeah, and then you walk in the guy that was holding it. Was, walking in our coming off. You know what straps on my shoulder it kind of hold you back and he stopped at say something went snap. So He's is the first day of fall camp, and and they had their little play that they'd put in especially for me. I had a pretty good spring. Coach Everest Mike March. What's the matter with you? You can't run. Straighten out leg on out and I couldn't do it. Texas down there. SMU Go, take. Can't do what's wrong with you, boy! Well, it was bad, it was it was up for a long time. Now. This this is up at UC. Santa Barbara, it was national news run. It was. I was so good plan during that three weeks later they went out and practiced in torch again, so I was real good at it. Not a hamstring was Biaz. We had no idea 'cause they can't run. Facile answer you hey, that's back. When UC Santa Barbara was playing football. Yeah, we were the first class in. There's twenty twenty guys on full scholarship. We went there. There's eighty or ninety guys on parcels, so you can say you know right away that we were well received right so yeah, we did so well. They don't the program right after the season. No state. They honored the program. Yup! I'm Ron Pitts with the coach Mike Martz be sure join us every Tuesday for a new episode of run it again. Well College football. They're itching to go. We know that, but they're also itching to find out how many guys have tested positive I? The last number I saw was was sixteen, and I think it's even bigger than net now of positive covid nineteen tests, so that again fuels that existing fire of do they play or do they not play? And how do they play and keep everyone around them? Safe including the fans whether they're in the stands, or not whether they're you know ten yards apart in stands or not and I think more importantly the students. When you look at this and I know a reading that Arkansas State at seven, but serves fire. Yeah, there's a player down Oklahoma state that had participated in protests. Marches down there, and then when he came back, he tested positive so now they're all a symptomatic. you know. I didn't show any symptoms, so they didn't know they had it. But how do you deal with all that? So when they're testing guys in groups I don't quite understand how they manage us. You know The test them before they come in two weeks at a time where they live and let them come in and test them again or I don't know coordinate hiking. You get these guys together and then you got. Them and then who they've been with and. These guys are gonNA. Have to get tested just about every day to start with at least for the first few weeks. Anyway I would think, and then the other part is. He's in this protest. March right. It's the same kind of concept. If you're in a stadium and you're just next to these people, and maybe not as careful as you are and. You put some of those people in the stands. It becomes like Italy you know that soccer game fifty thousand people just kind of exploded so I don't know how they can put people in the stands. You really don't. Well the the question for me is okay, so if the University of Alabama week seven, and let's say their number one the conference rolling along like like they usually do okay. And all of a sudden to offensive lineman and defensive, back. Come up dirty on cove in nineteen tests. Now you're telling me you're gonNA quarantine that whole offensive line. You're going to quarantine the whole secondary. You're going to disrupt your flow completely throughout the whole team I I'm not saying that won't happen. I want to see it happen. I just don't believe. That that's realistic. Why thank you only thing you can do and I? Read this somewhere that they really kind of plan on testing him on a daily basis. A daily. So once together. If those guys all tested, but due to the other guys still tested negative than I think you can quarantine them. Continue on, but your point's well taken your update if they're not testing him that much. Then you half think that you got test, everybody in see. Know if they're positive so when they've tested positive, you gotta go back to that group that they're with you know. So right right I think. There's going to be constant testing in monitoring in the. They really have to kind of keep them separate so. I think it's doable. SEC obviously is on bent on getting done I. Don't know that you can put people in the stance and take that chance I I just don't think that. I'm like I. WanNa see. Clemson would see Georgia Alabama. All of those schools the when they're having a nice year. All of a sudden,.

"Wide receivers that have come out of Alabama in recent years I think some people think of eventually that is going to stop or you're you're not gonna be able to continue to have elite players there where does Jerry Judy stacked up among some of the best wide receivers to come out of Alabama in recent years so those two questions are great yeah no problem I think on any part of it I mean I I never heard of it knew of any of any of it the last season now like you said twenty eighteen was one to report hi to June actually was covering the the bills at the time so not totally sure you know what was happening back then but as far as me covering them last season there's there's nothing that would suggest he was harder playing hurt and even exceeding came out I think last week or before the draft and said you know I would never something that really hampered eminent having covered the NFL for for ninety years until one of players play through a lot of things and everybody in the team as some sort of injury by the end of the year to get the best timer you know it's a great experience so I don't really think that's a big deal I think his his agent in this case is also two of these came out said you know it's probably a team later in the first round of trying to get you push down the border a bit and that's how things work before the draft but as far as where he stacks up you know same disclaimer I guess that you know I have a first hand cover guys like Amari Cooper Julio Jones outwardly but I will put you you probably paid below you know those first two I don't think he is a mark part of the key is Julio Jones those guys are in a rare talents like I said do you need a lot of things well I'm not sure that he has that one skill where that one trait that really just it's going to be remembered for you know ten fifteen twenty years now I'm not sure that that quite at that level but I think he's a very good receiver again it is just a matter of where he fits in the picture of what this math and roads and they got it done I gotta have switch prior to come out this year just the one Lonhro who is potentially even faster and we rogues and he watched yarn ball last year the end of the season Starbird it was two hundred ninety eight total yards yet between returns and and receiving so he's the next big name to watch well the Broncos did take Judy and what are they getting out of here they plan on using him as I guess the second wide receiver and hope he earns that job High Court inside but what the Broncos fans expect out of jury duty yeah I think if there is a trait that he's known for and again maybe not rare your level of that trade is the route running and just being Crespin out of those breaks I mean that's what that Alabama offense was really predicated upon and maybe to the detriment to I mean a lot of people closer to the draft kept bringing up the fact that you only have to throw five return yards take two or three steps and was part of that our RPO game yeah maybe that's true but that's in large part assessment with receivers are doing it and being able to get open he quickly it and run very precisely and I think that is is probably the biggest thing that let's start out with them but then you go towards the end of the year in the last game of the season the citrus bowl if Michigan he was a different receiver where first play the game offensively for for Alabama we're going sixty yards down the field to Judy it it's not that short quick slant game at whatever you're seeing so again he can do different things and do them pretty well but in five ten years there are re referring to him as a number one receiver before Pernille Pro Bowl or I'm not sure that there's that sort of competency of the same way you could say the falcons traded up to take we'll let you know you're getting a very very good player for a long time I'm not sure that the level of confidence is quite there Judy but it's up there Mike always great great time talking to you thank you so much for the time and I really appreciate it yeah you gotta you gotta guess things are meant nine Mike Rodak showing us here where she covers the Crimson Tide for A. L. dot com good stuff there and that that's a fascinating conversation for me and and I think that's that's something that I kind of want to dive into over the remainder of the offseason is kind of weird is Judy stack up with those guys because you've you've compared him at times and I know you don't do what do cops very often but you know for you Amari Cooper was in the conversational Microtech says I don't know if it's quite as good as Amari Cooper leaks coming out of colleges like I don't quite see the same thing Donna Maree was getting compter Julio when he was coming out so that was unfair right right so it I mean in that that get maybe further facilitates the problem with cops but in that vein where you find jury duty in in these top guys were talking Julio Amari mention Calvin Ridley and there were just cherry Judy followed that he's better tell Ridley I I think he's probably around Amari Cooper's talent level you know coopers kind of that guy it's not really a wide receiver one but as an excellent wide receiver to what you said guy who's going to be he's better than what it is but one she received letters a one point five is in the sense is better than wide receiver to be not quite the guy you were going to get C. B. one we'll see a week should be ones there so if you can find a situation where you've got a great why does he warned you can make Jerry G. the backup option the backside slide guy you're probably gonna have a really successful offense Alabama times found ways to you know make Smith and and rugs in any of the water we mentioned kind of clear out guys the guys that you know you're going to use to be the primary target the defense can account for then you just come back at you because he's better than their CB two and and I think you'll see the same thing in the program yeah you keep saying that and I think maybe fans will probably bristle little bit eventually about how you say he's gonna be a really good wide receiver to for this team what's wrong with that well it's wrong with you draft a guy the first round of specially top fifteen what's wrong with being the manual Sanders the demerits Thomas what's wrong with that the main centres dropped in the third round where they're drafted developing get out to play you know the the there's a contact you can and for the conversation why hi tech radio guys gonna go office and he has a forty four yard forty four cash for yes you know that but it away that's not I mean you know that that's what he's there to be there to be the Emmanuel Sanders to court in CT he's there to be the the advent Caffrey the court was rod Smith is that good enough I excel I mean I think it is but I I think I could see Broncos fans kind of holding on to the fact like a week this guy was drafted to be wide receiver one wasn't extra first rounder yeah I mean you know I kind of want to do the Torry Holt Isaac Bruce thing yeah any when drafted a Xerox team hmmm you know in the in the second round we'll come back Graham Glasco is gonna join our program it's Broncos country tonight on cable news radio and the I heart radio out tradition times of uncertainty traditions provide a great sense of comfort something that feels like normal daily life being broken but I know this was traditionally we can we would have loved to be outside we are creating some new ones traditions are going to change thank you your tradition to check in throughout the day the which would become perhaps a tradition carried away news radio American tradition is everywhere.

"Ryan Edwards Benjamin allbright I would pay large sums of money to see you dance to the song buster the side right now large Laurie Adams of my I cut my finger which could obviously affect your dancing cutting strawberries for the kids so I can't right now you see a bandage and everything's gonna Scooby doo bandaid there yeah I can't I can't do it can I know what my little pony no one can see you now yeah I'd I I I I know you people can tell but I can't write and they're scared to it I'm not exactly says rises sure this phone as soon as I start moving well I learned my lesson last time I tried this on camera in the Broncos studio if you don't have that what's what's for cameras looking at you be a little more smart but it was like the more I get lost in the Mona sure dancing studio and then yeah I got captured I still said I also got captured dancing in the studio I still maintain though that there were some digital editing that really wasn't me like my goodness I'm exact on somebody else C. GI yeah if C. GI my wife has a much better chance of not be I couldn't possibly be rerouted ported the other dinosaur animator from Jurassic Park just to get right that yeah you know that he's got a couple man yeah he's crafty like that well done while we're gonna Mike right here just a moment scram Glasco later on this hour job roles in the next hour we'll hear that sound bite from Phillip Lindsay as well in the meantime all the attacks line here five six six nine zero man I'm going for the drinking game drinking we can watch Top Gun yells showed his love you A. Angie this from Scott okay I just got out there to there now she does a fantastic job if you're trying to save money I think you're O. line coaches leads then draft someone next year and have them coached up well as president California that's that's kind of the way that they do this kind of thing is they look like a we can you know we get later picks along this offense of line in and have our hall of fame coach coach about yep the not so that's kind of what they went into the sea the year thinking I've got a couple couple things I want to get into a little later on there was a there's a really interesting quote from John Elway that I I'd missed in the rich Eisen interview we talked about the decision to go with Jerry Judy allowed them to get KGB handler because most teams didn't expect them to go wide receiver in their opinion they were targeting cagey hammer the whole time now that could be true that could be not necessarily they were targeting speed yeah wide receiver that one was generator was gone and that was the next name on the board yeah so the one of the first rows was they got to the second round they're like we want cagey hammer in their minds said about it was we're going to get in because nobody thinks will go wide receivers all these teams that are right behind us they're just assuming cagey hammer will drop in our laps well they're not gonna expect that they don't feel like they need to trade up in front of us because they have no idea what we're gonna be doing here right so we will get back in that here in just a little bit we head out to the highlight and bring on Micromax good to have you on the program again Mike thanks so much for the time tonight how are you pretty good how are you guys were doing great so so let's let's talk a little about your Judy it's funny we had John right before the draft to talk about the possibilities seem like John Elway was finally going to snap his streak of not drafting Alabama players so you know it felt appropriate time to talk about all these Alabama players will now the Broncos have their first Alabama player with John Elway is GM it is jury duty real surprise the slip that for the drafter you think that's about right where he went yeah I wasn't too surprised I think if he had ran a faster forty time I think that would help this case I don't think he ran nearly as fast at the combine as you wanted to or you know you expected to given what his trainers were telling him down in Dallas at the combine so look AT it run a little bit faster thank you what about the top and that does that to people around the league told me what it wanted some stories back in February on that but he did it and so you're looking at a guy who doesn't really have that overwhelming treat that Henry Ruggs had we all know about rogue speed and and what he did at the combine it probably would be what I've done at the the protest as well for Alabama and then when you have that trait that's when you tend to slide up the border a little bit so you know at the end of the day it was Jerry Judy the number two or three receiver behind Henry Ruggs you know for a lot of teams you know maybe not but it only took one team in the raiders to pounce on roads early I'm a little bit earlier than I would've expected and consequently that the probably push Judy a couple more spots down the board so wasn't terribly surprised that I think the bigger surprise for me it's just that that Rhodes was the first receiver off the board was that that was a surprise to you I mean I've talked to people you know familiar with the program down there they they went on to suggest that that these two might be the number two and three receivers that were playing their last year that that Smith might be the best of the bunch but what you will was actually surprised you that rose would had a duty yeah I I do think that to to to me I was expecting rugs you'll mourn later teens early twenties and all people were expecting no twenty one with the eagles were so are pretty popular spot for heaven at the end of the day I I I think you're you need to stay for pac we look at more all round receiver I think there are questions about Henry Ruggs and what he can do beyond the speed aspect but with that said I mean both are very good receivers and I think they deserve to go in the first round of thank when you get into you know a couple spots here and there might be taking a little bit in terms of who's one who's two story that CD whatever the conversation to but yeah you're totally right but the first point as far as you know what what might be the case of Alabama rot they Smith might be the best guy to come out of that entire bunch maybe not the fastest guy in the world with the biggest guy in the world but he was the most productive receiver last year I mean he from start to finish I think he had the best year of any of those three you decided to come back for one more year and you'll have to see where he goes next year but in five six seven years now we're talk about who had the best start their own info careers might be due out this month for six we got some questions about devante Smith N. Nagy Harris as the kind of relating to if there's some reason there's no college football season would they consider going into the supplemental draft when you think about that I hadn't heard that possibility I know people I talked about to a potentially skipping regular draft up a letter drafted so trying to do some research on you know the specific rules because there's a lot of different circumstances that players can go to the supplemental draft and I did Jonathan thought hasn't crossed my mind a little thought has crossed my mind that Gee I wonder if they regret the decision to come back because I I do think that they want this mess what have been packed somewhere in the first second round I think we've heard draft analysts but even that range and not totally sure what he's going to prove you you know even with another great season I think it's still the same player and he's still a very good prospects so not totally sure enemy Najee Harris probably more understandable that you know it is a pretty good running back class coming out even then you know it's one more year of wear and tear and we don't know the story and smell that running backs in the past as well as they are damaged goods but a lot of mileage coming out of that program and you know it's tough to have a long NFL career after you had a long career at Alabama so not totally sure as much on analogies that why he he made that decision but you know I I do think it if there is no college football season that they're gonna figure out something I don't know if there's going to be any clarity though within the next couple months in so far as they might be able the center supplemental draft in July thanks yes I've seen a couple of different options I guess floated how likely do you think that college football is to be played on time this year and then the second option I've heard was that they you know maybe the NFL's gonna play fall football in college football get Bob back to the spring I'll likely do you see either of those scenarios yeah I see that more likely as a as a board of you know three four weeks ago I I do think there's band momentum on the the governmental level three upper St the come back we seem a lot down to some of the country of Georgia and they came back pretty early in other states to kind of fall two albums actually that one of the slower states that they come back to normal around these parts and even today only a certain businesses are out open when I think people are expecting a lot more so with that said I I do think we're we're kind of beginning that the train to start moving a little bit we've heard from Greg thank you little bit the commissioner of the FCC about how they still have plans I mean there next thing on our schedules is media days in July that that's still happening in the rest of the season they're planning for the president of Alabama said of the university of Alabama said this week that you know there are plenty of having students back on campus circle I don't have the football season people keep using that word plan obviously there's grass to be contingency plans Americans but at the end of the day thanks they do have the the element of time on their side where you know is it no fans in the stands as a partial fans in the stands well see but I do think that at least a game will be played on the field at some point delayed or not the start of the season you know it's tough to tell but I would be surprised if there's no football season whatsoever Mike last couple questions here for you really appreciate the time this evening so there was a report out right before the draft about some kind of needs thing for jury duty you know we we ask Gerry about it and he said that you know that was from twenty eighteen is nothing that's even bothering you can watch for yourself so I I'd love to get your comments on what what you know about his knee injury and then the other the other side of this is my goodness I mean the the list of wide receivers that have come out of Alabama in recent years I think some people think of eventually that that it's going to stop or you're you're not gonna be able to continue to have elite players there where does Jerry Judy stack up among some of the best wide receivers to come out of Alabama in recent years so those two questions are great yeah no problem I I think on any part of it I mean I I never heard of it knew of any of any of it the last season now like you said it was twenty eighteen was one to report tied it to impact she was covering the the bills at the time so not totally sure you know what was happening back then but it as far as me covering them last season there's there's nothing that would suggest you was harder playing hurt and even exceeding came out I think last week or before the draft and said you know it's never something that really hampered eminent having covered the NFL for for ninety years until one of players play through a lot of things and everybody in the team as some sort of injury by the end of the year to compete at the Miss timer you know it's a great experience so I don't really think that's a big deal I think is his agent in this case is also she was aged came out said you know it's probably a team later in the first round of trying to get you push down the border a bit and that's how things work before the draft but as far as where he stacks up you know same disclaimer I guess that you know I have a first hand cover guys Amari Cooper Julio Jones or calc Ridley but I'll put Judy probably paid below you know those first two I don't think he is a mark Cooper I don't think he is Julio Jones those guys are in a rare talents like I said Judy does a lot of.

"And a receiving touchdown in the same game from alliance chiefs running back Damien Williams first player Superbowl history scorebig to score multiple touchdowns in the final five minutes of regulation Mike Tannenbaum this is your former guy this is your former player tell me why you would didn't win the Superbowl MVP tonight is our quarterback so but I'll tell you what you saw everything that's good about his game you're already alluded to it he is he has deceptive speed he has the ability to make a mess he can run through a tackle is really good hands that's why he's been the lead for as long as he has this by you know not having a lot of production in college so where is to where the other things I like about his game is he's gotten better every year kind of be counted out more than once in his career and obviously things happen in Kansas city where they would offer cream hung eight created a huge opportunity for him and he's taking advantage of it so he's so rude easy to root for and your band do you play with a lot of these guys that are you know late round picks address the free agent and now he's Superbowl champion and arguably one of the most indispensable players are B. B. one of the best offenses we've ever seen yeah I mean right he most search and Damian Williams are really the biggest villains to Dalvin cook in Christian McCaffrey that are waiting for their big paydays that every both of these guys were third string quarter at third string running backs at various points during their career I mean they've been cut from teams remote start on its own as well as a fifteen or seventeen throughout his career at the age of seven and and and Damian Williams last year was third string until cream hunt made his mistakes and then Spencer where was injured and then Danny we have stepped up so we we have these examples it's the depression of the the running back market value as good as Zeke Elliott and and letter format and Christian McCaffrey and Alvin Kamara these guys are you can find these undrafted or late round gems that can end up being what should have been the Superbowl MVP and and it's it's unfortunate but that's the reality is there are there are a lot of really talented football players playing the running back position so not the submarine my own point here because I do believe that anyone should have won the MVP tonight Patrick homes did it check out these statistics five in this season when trailing by double digits the chiefs won those games by an average of twelve point eight points per game that's it that's the back half of that guys is most interesting to me they won those games twelve by twelve point eight points per game when the Texans were up twenty four to nothing in the divisional round the chief still along fifty one points on them and covered a double digit spread the chiefs also five in all when trailing by double digits best single season record by QB in NFL history that was according to Elias ten passing touchdowns this PO season for Patrick homes after trailing by double digits only three quarterbacks had more touchdown passes in a single postseason and may include Joe Montana Kurt Warner and of course Joe Flacco is I know you guys probably had Joe Flacco in that that trio there are but my Tenenbaum you had mentioned earlier why didn't Damian Williams win the MVP because it's about a quarter back when you look at what Patrick bombs has been able to accomplish not only tonight when the chiefs were trailing but of course all postseason and for him to go five in only to school five and all I mean when when they start the cliche but when the chips were down Patrick bombs came up big yes and he be the two or three transcended plays in bed your touched on it earlier the corn quote more homes place and some of the things that they may Williams did really effectively just don't show up with the statute because again he's a great pass protector and he he extended drive and he was I thought all the little things like keeping his feet in bounds he was exceptional so again maybe he was the most effective for today he's just by not the most noteworthy player but everybody can't city sure glad that the Amy Williams is the chief and again that's what makes our sports so interesting we talked about it all fall into the like sure guys gonna have to step up and Pete Williams this year stepped up when he was gonna his opportunity I mean an end but unfortunately Damian Williams I I'm pulling for his continued future success but history has a tendency to forget these kinds of guys because it Pat mom's getting V. M. V. P. it's almost like a a cherry on the top it's like MVP of the playoffs is kind of what he's being awarded for here the the the so the six the six the Superbowl champion cold so they stick to my mind because I was a part of that team in training camp that make it to the Superbowl so little bit of a thorn in my side there but yes I should've though band you should have made it but but Peyton manning was the MVP of that Super Bowl victory but Dominic Rhodes was the guy that had a hundred some yards and and played huge in that game many people remember Peyton manning not so many remember Dominic Rhodes he was he got the consul consolation prize of being the I'm going to Disney world he got to go to Disney world that was that was his consolation prize there but not the eighty eight it smacks of the same kind of relevance that people are going to remember patent homes obviously for what he is doing and done and while I'm excited for Damon Wayans and have high hopes for him history is not very fair to people in his position somewhere Dominic Rhodes is saying you know have been hard socks I always like that guy and I always like that and let me let me as you guys this is a super postgame show if the soldier Mike Tannenbaum been heart sock Bernard Pollard who joined us in the first hour of the show tonight former raven and former chief in Tennessee Titans safety he he noted he goes Patrick homes going to get is going to get paid now hi take their right but no they're not been art also is a broad good point if you Jack Prescott do you all do you just wait are you okay with baby being franchise tagged as petrol bombs is about to reset the market Mike would you think about that yeah you got a current rise a little bit of what we talked about last summer Amari Cooper Julio Jones Michael Thomas bureau who's gonna go first and set the market and you know you look if you look at a lot of these guys like you to Sean Watson obviously the two that you just mentioned and touch brought home to sell the Superbowl MVP defending champion your this could be a couple of guys even Ryan Tannehill you know he can get franchise so you know who's gonna go first it's gonna be interesting because what's in Prescott James Winston's up yep I think obviously you can draw you know it's practical homes and draw a line so if I was everybody else yeah I hope my homes gets his field as quickly as possible but ultimately you're you're you're betting on yourself in the last guy that did that was Kirk cousins who who played on the franchise tag twice and and really ended up winning that sweepstakes getting billed the groundbreaking contract fully guaranteed eighty four million but that could have gone wrong and and really he's kinda now being the victim of not living up to the expectations of that eighty four million dollar contracts so it I look at I look it back Prescott and I look at potentially more downside then upside the numbers he put up this year I don't know that you can capitalize a whole lot more because I think more people will say it's unlikely for him to transcend then then fall short yeah my response would be well Hey let me just get to the market and see how will I do with them but that left the fair market value to turn my worth and I'll take my chances that's that's former info general manager Mike Tannenbaum former NFL tight end Ben Hart sock committee Salter this is the super postgame show here on SiriusXM channel eighty ESPN radio and the ESPN app straight ahead Richard Sherman's journey back to the Super Bowl has been absolutely incredible to watch and a great moment in the.

"I would say Tyler Johnson. I don't even think values high right now But for argument's SAKE ARGO J.. Judy Uncle J. Judy for the sake of the conversation. A lot of people are touting this guy as the next coming of the Martin Cooper The Best Wide Receiver Prospect since Julio Jones. I've heard that COMP I I liked jared judy a lot but I'm not going that far so if somebody's willing to pay me top draft capital J.. Judy I've long uncalled. Justin Jefferson Discount version of judge. Judy is just as talented to me. He's a bigger wide receiver. His production numbers. Are there a Aliji in a lot of people. I don't want people coming at me. I would I would. I would deal Jerry Judy. Yeah I think he's good but I do not believe. He's the second coming of Amari Cooper. Julio Jones and he isn't even number one rated wide receiver at twenty twenty class. Who is your number one receiver in his class? Ray CD LAMB CD lamb and common is that is that like a popular perspective right now or not even close. I think it's I think the community is split. I think you've got some Judge Judy troopers in. Here's my theory. Here's my theory on Jerry. Judy the in just about every Alabama player. I don't care what part of the country live on. I don't care what where you're at in the world every Saturday Saturday whether you want to or not in you turn on CBS. You'RE GONNA see Alabama every single Saturday. ESPN got late night game CBS. They got the two thirty game. You're going to Swatch Alabama play whether you want to or not so innately that this Alabama Despite subconsciously that these guys are just far and away better than everybody else when in reality there's a ton of hard receivers DISA- talented Jerry. Jay Judy but the difference is WHO's watching Jalen. Reagan play at. TCU How many people have seen CD land play on a consistent basis. Have you actually got a chance to to watch some of these other waters who who stays up to watch Colorado play to see Levinsky Who you know what I mean but hell or high water? You're we're going to see Alabama whether you want to or not so you get these guys ingrained in your head for two three years and then by that point in time you can't people aren't even open to the idea that there could be a better player than the one that we've seen every single day of the every Saturday for the past three years and I think the community is coming around to that. A little bit more seating lamb hide just be the best wide receiver prospect in his class. and which one one of those guys like are one of these guys going to be like the analytics team Darlene. CD Lambs Boxes Jalen regular checks. The box is absolutely Gotcha. Then yet one more Josh right before we jump over something else I want to ask. How much better is CD lamb? Are these very different players. I thought I thought he was better than last year. When market around on the team thought it was more complete wide receiver? And that's not taking anything away from Hollywood because like his game but CDs more physical obviously. He's bigger his body control his his his blocking like this little things right in the running game CD. Lambs Pancake and cornerbacks. He's east fight down the field. He's creating a lot of tough yards after after the catch his his tracking ability the way that he just tracks a ball which markets Brown does very well also but I said that. CD-ROM to me. It was the best wide receiver on the Oklahoma Team for the past two years. That's including Hollywood Brown. And I feel like there's so many receivers man jeeze. Yes here's my here's one tightwad. He's gotTa get excited about the next one matter like Hanso. Guess so good. All right Yeah One more on here. We had a trade for one mile. Sanders camakers Kareem Hunt. Ray Start Oh no I know I know I wanNA hate. I WANNA go ahead so I don't know I don't really. Oh I know anything about game makers but I knew that was raised guy so I can take a Lotta Miles Sanders lately. I'll tell you that I've done at a startup in another draft. I ended up with the boats so I I'm the same way too early in the same way too. I know everyone's excited about Kareem Hunt 'cause he kinda revived himself since he got came back into the league. People aren't sure where he's GonNa go. I mean you don't know what kind of production he's GONNA get wherever he goes but I don't think he's going to be the guy anywhere per se so I trust Mile Sanders from a you know a a workload standpoint over the rest of the guys when you know just off a face value right now side Yo sanders too but definitely was for ray with cameras in the mix I like him acres but again I'm gonNA proven players man going proven players and I gave Mile L. Sanders. A lot of outing. Say Hey I just really wasn't that high on 'em coming into the draft but he's definitely got above and beyond my expectations but I do think there's a good chance that Kareem Hotlanta starting job. Do you boil boy man. Why why not? He's a restricted restrict. Free agent. What's Cleveland going to do? They're not going to sign a long term if I were the browns and if they've got competent leadership in place it trade them for some draft capital. When you get better they need more pieces? Like Kareem Hunt. He's a luxury to me on that team. Not a necessity so if they can get draft capital for for him in my idea landing spot would be the Tampa Bay buccaneers. You Kareem Hot with Bruce Arians. He's got his David Johnson. His New David Johnson Johnson. I think he's slots right back in as a top ten dynasty running back so I'm going to hedge this bet. I'm going to to play Roulette and I'm GONNA go cream. I'm hot here. Wow I surprised us. I'm surprised I I'll tell you. It means a lot to me that he was able to get the receiving work on a field with nick chip competent in that in that regard so link arena. Uh It's probably pretty good at football. Yeah we all can agree on that. I just don't know the starter thing. Hangman possible if if he's out I'm and I'm betting on the fact he's out of Cleveland if not then he's going to be like Josh the same type of role in Stansky in there. You saw what Dalvand Cook did I mean. It's GonNa be a heavy dose of the run so we'll see how that plays out got you him all right. I'm out before we go to our no foul which our last segment of the show for the most part. We did have one listener question that I liked on that I want to throw. IRA is from at chance. In Tampa he said given most of the twenty commit twenty twenty commitments have been made. I'd love to know how race is the players ranked seven through fifteen and twenty verse. The the top six and twenty one now and he said not super flex rankings just PBR. Because he wants to see you sweat so so let me get this straight. So He's asking me. The question is what exactly okay. So the net. Now that we know most of the twenty twenty commits Made how how you see like the guys right like in seven fifteen range. I guess generally to most people you know the popular in twenty versus the top six and twenty one. Who you feel are GonNa GonNa be the top six? They're like how different feeling. That's that's a really good question and it actually is a say. It's a layup for me because his I have long said that I think that in single quarterback leagues there they tear break from me in two thousand twenty and that tier break happens around. Pick six or pick seven avid outside of the in and I and I love the class. I think the classes deep. I think there are some players who can absolutely smash that go after. Pick seven seven. Good the right around six seven nights where I see a big tear break for me and if I had the way the one on one ten I would have. Yeah no problem trading back in acquiring the twentieth twenty-first so for me that's my tear break and the top of the twenty twenty one class. You Know Suba Announced that he's coming back to school now. She Harris is coming back to school. Rondo awards march as Bateman twenty twenty. One is right right now. It's looking like it's GonNa be legit. Once we get there. Inevitably some of those guys will return for their senior year. After after about pick six seven I would have. Yeah no problem trading that twenty twenty I to get some maybe later capital in the two thousand twenty draft. Maybe you're getting twenty twenty one. I in twenty twenty thirty second or third and the twenty one. I I have no problem making that deal. Gotcha oh there you go chance Tampa. We appreciate the question you could make my guy race wet though Oh man these days a layup lael layup. We appreciate the attempt though is good question good question shout again in a chance. Chance and tango questionnaire Saint Personal Man. He said he WANNA see you. Sweat man so yeah. That was a good question. You you gotTa know where your your your brakes are if you are going to make a move and you know some people might say it happens earlier or later but for me around six or seven is where it breaks our coolest us over to fowler no foul Fowler no foul for anyone. WHO's not familiar with the segment? I want at those statements at these guys and if they agree with the statement if they think it's all good it sounds kosher to them. There's no foul no fallon statement if they do not agree with what's being said. Then there's a foul on So we'll start got a few of these so we can run through them your spend too much time with and The first one is Tom. Brady will play somewhere. Other than the Patriots next season. Fowler no Fowleri. That's that's no. How no foul? If you will note foul. I think he's gone now. I think they need. I think that marriage is done that dynasty for what it was something that we may never see again or for very long time. But I think it's done I think somewhere else. If you must apply Joshua agreement I I hate to see it in. I don't know I it can happen but I don't WanNa see that I'm gonNA say Out just because I don't want to see the raiders. Sign him playing in Las Vegas so Phalle stay in New England. I keep the too many articles about the Patriot. The raiders who signed his guy. Celtic is in Las Vegas. Keep overdraw should sign. I Dunno just keep them in New England. That's all I gotta say All right the next one you guys know if our no father saying safe. There's no certain topics safe so this isn't about football. A man trying to make eye contact tech and check out your wife or girlfriend while you're right next to her is disrespectful fowler. No foul.

"This is fantasy theater in his nfl week five joining joining me. Tonight is a man who really has it stopped gloating since I came in here he's wearing shoe head and moustache. I know what you be feeling so great. All my picks right last week Greg every team every team. I have all four face leagues one. I one in every every league. I was in after losing every to every game last week. I won every game this week. My three picks were target my call about Davin Cook being bad. I'm WHOA WHOA hold on. I'm a terrible I want to hear that that's the globe boat and I am all Globo because man I was so so right right last week about so many things you know you really weren't right about a lot and then Greg. I've been doing this a long time. I've been doing this so year. Now I gotta warn you on the weeks you really right. Oh you gotta be careful about talking about right. You're yeah because then when you're wrong wrong then that's when you hear about it here about I know I know it's going to happen. I don't WANNA come crashing back down Earth Day with all the predictions today and then. I'm not gonNA hear the end of it for for weeks because you know you're you're putting this quote your haters. You know the people who like just pope on it you know I'm usually your buddies they. They don't care that you've won in every game one week. They don't care two or three picks. They don't care that they care the next week. You were wanting to run war one game and they will never let you live that down for a four month. No no matter how you do after that so enjoy you need to enjoy so you are three on the best bet three nine the best man awesome awesome tell you what we had We both had a lot of colts love last league turned upside down yeah Mac in the well. He hurt his ankle. We still nobody's GonNa play this week right. That did hurt his value lock so he didn't play any second half. He didn't play. I think he played one snap protests ankle and then put it they took them back out and maybe they thought they could beat the raiders without him. Obviously that wasn't the case could have been looking ahead yeah. They couldn't looking ahead too much but it's still early in the season. That's a very winnable division You don't want to risk getting a player like that hurt permanently so I I guess I kind trying to get it but maybe the raiders bad don't they were tell you what we go talk about the one thing I wanted to bring up this week now that we're a month into the season we've got a bit of a sample size here. One thing I wanted to talk about is I want to look at the top twelve of each position quarterback wherever running back tied Sidin and look at the top twelve of average draft position I'm right before drafting started. I wanted to Kinda see I'm going to be doing this more throughout the year the volatility of each position especially compared to those top players because you know every year when you start drafting you think oh you you know I need to minimize risk early. But what exactly does that mean and what has that meant so far this year so let's start with running backs with running backs what I mean if you had to put a number on of the top to how many would you say. Are there now just kinda out the top from the foot so their average draft position the position at their position I'M GONNA bill. They're in that top twelve. I'm going to say only a couple fell out because it's just not really great year for running bags. You know there's not very many so I'll say probably ten or price there so running back actually did have a lot still there. They were eight out of twelve eight hundred twelve roommates that surprised is me a little bit because you know with running backs. There's more injuries a lot of times a little bit more volatile can you name the four that weren't in the original twelve. ADP Down the top twelve. Can you name any of them so the four that were original ADP that are no longer there but then no I'm sorry the four that snuck into the top so fucking okay Leonard Fournette no he was actually already being drafted. Wasn't I thought okay I thought he was he was number twelve. Oh okay that was right there on the edge right right right so later than that also cler given that's that's number two right so but that's only because of the you know all the other things right the only reason he was drafted that ladies because of Melvin Greg kind of an outline if you were like well Equi is GonNa play the whole season he might have been a top ten definitely would have been if they had traded Gordon even suit acronym fire bachelor this week. We're not GONNA come back. Fully forgets still play this week still definitely safely Let's see who else one of your boys one of Your Voice David Montgomery I love him. He's not disappointed. Disappointed pointed to Carey's last week Greg. He's coming around. It's going to be this week spoiler alert for today or high on them. Is it a is it a Derek jeter Titan. I was like that's not respect. Autism name Greg Hey he's Eric Henry he is he's blowing up and he's GonNa have another great week this week. League now the other one is a little misleading because he was enacted the first two games of the season but this is on a per game basis Okay Daryl Williams Dr Williams Williams we it was the week that's what I call in and done. He's he's he's going to be. We figure out the door Thompson hype in team same as soon as Damian's backing was darn that exactly because they traded for McCoy mcchord really threw a wrench in that whole team but I mean he's pretty much distorted right like McCoy. McCoy is pretty much above any of them right. I think so I think so today. This recorded on Wednesday Damian practice correct boy was limited. I believe so I mean that's the situation you got to. You got to see what happens but I think I would think Damian Williams just comes in and takes the other Williams role and they go back to fifty fifty between McCoy and Williams. Maybe McCoy at this point now if he's a little bit healthier kill. Maybe I'll touch Williams. I duNNo. It's a mess I've got a combination of these players throughout the leagues and honestly I'm trying to move him. I did I did move Damian Williams this past week at Damien Williams and Josh Allen to quarterback league in a cinema both for Carson Wentz. That's a good trade okay. I thought I might have overpaid a little bit with Damian. Williams solid running backs. I want to upgrade a quarterback now that team the McCoy's definitely GonNa get the ball as he gets more offense. He's gotten the ball just more and more in two weeks and he is permitted with read but that offense is completely different than anything. Andy Reid ran when he was in when he was in Philly. I mean that's that's not the same offense at all so it's not like he's going to step in in immediately. Be The guy but yeah. I don't really care for the Williams of the week I mean you you never Renault with with that but you know he trust McCoy. He gets a lot of that goal line stuff so yeah I I like that. Josh Allens hurt. He'll be back. He'll come back off that by week and they've got Miami. They got a really schedule and he's got the to mind game. That's the only time you'll regret not true true so oh another thing Daryl Williams that I wanted to mention he's right now. Averaging one point twenty two points per touch. That's better than chimeras average last year so he's been very effective effective when he's touched the ball so maybe he will get some more work anyway why receivers only four of the ridge twelve or so yeah. I believe that only four one of the arguments for going zero running back is the fact that taking receivers early safer yeah not this year because the one team actually did trade so I have two of the top of the I four why received that we're taking and that is Davante Adams whose but as a point to this past week and now he's hurt again and I have hopkins who's been an older woman. I know they've fallen off because they've done not each day. Each had one really good game and they fallen off and it's just it's a weird. It's been a weird season in the NFL all safari walkie stuff yeah weird people scoring touchdowns people you've never heard of it's been a weird. I mean it year and I know some it's injuries and it seemed like the injuries bug is all on the wide receivers this year outside of Saquon the the running backs have been oddly a healthy relatively yeah but when you look at me demonte items out now Tarik yoghurt the very first game those were three of the in Dhaka's hadn't been good that was three the top five receivers taken absolutely absolutely so Amari Cooper Julio Jones Keenan Allen and Mike Evans are the ones that are still yeah number one overall. Oh yeah maybe up at this past week. He made a drop. I believe he's one. Pr Yeah He makes it morning. He's probably having a rough week this week. They got a pretty tough game. So I mean you start him. Regardless of what I mean he's yeah going to be dealing with Chris Hairs. That's right that's right so we'll go through quarterback and tight ends a little quicker but only five of the original type of quarterbacks but I think you kind of know that going in with quarterbacks yeah. He's a quarterback right. There's not a big separation between one and fifteen right. There's just a lot of really good quarterback. Recommend Mahomes is up there. Of course I don't think he's ever won actually so I mean you know right. There has got to be a full of figuring out that offense the IT GONNA wake up. I'm gonNA worry about that. Defense deep is what worries more than offense and defense is looking a little bit a suspect compared to years past yeah yeah because when we we sat here last week and destroyed the browns and and look at them I mean they come out last week and I think they had that chip on their shoulder and you know what maybe that's what Baker needs you. You know. Bakers always been the guy everyone doubted. We'll was the first round draft pick and then he was the golden boy he's the new golden boys always commercials and maybe maybe he just needed that chip what's going to I was going to be not good for the rest of the year though is now the favourite again place and so now what you can't constantly be inventing this boogeyman. That's just GonNa WanNa you know come out and put a chip on her shoulder. So I mean I don't I mean it's volatile there right for sure. Sir Tight ends were seven of the top twelve. Were still there you you know tight ends. It's so it is do you have a regret of the week Myburgh Gret of the week. You had such a great risk. Yeah I mean I must be nice yeah. It was it was it was so nice I picked up Jack Doyle off of waivers starting with Jacoby Brusett and they had a touchdown together gathering one me a game so I mean that is that's true for the week my regret of the week is probably starting both. Ob Jay Don Hopkins. You can't sit those guys. I mean they still won that game because I had conner and I had Henry and I had winston but I mean I don't know what do you do with you. You can't sit those guys. It's no no no those are never sit guys. I really tempted to trae Beckham in the League but one of my other leagues I was actually trying to trade for him so it just it depends on your situation is definitely a buy low right now. He's still getting the targets at seven or eight targets he did the Ravens obviously focused in on him uh-huh to their detriment because Landry torma yeah landry had a great game gets them but I mean you. You can't if you have him you you gotta start him but then you gotta understand that he's going to be your low of four but high ceiling type guy so I mean don't pair them down. Geragos like I got right now. I need some schedules..
A.J. Green's injury on 'subpar' Bengals practice field will cost wide receiver up to two months
"Speaking of injuries unfortunately an M._r._i.. Has revealed that Cincinnati Bengals Wide Receiver A._J.. Green has torn ligaments in his left. Ankle is according affording to Schefter here. They are likely to sideline green six to eight weeks up really not a good situation and teammate Tyler Boyd questioned the turf. The team was practicing on when green was injured. It was terrible. I couldn't run any routes out there. I'm falling all over the ground man it was it was bad. It was rocks pebbles out there man it was somewhere we should have been just feel like the turf was old. You know it just wasn't we didn't get good traction in and out of her breaks. You know a lot of guys not just me was on the ground but I mean who wasn't up there that long but there's gotTa make a word man. We gotta get it well. The turf was that welcome stadium at the University of Dayton where the bengals are practicing coach you buy this well. I haven't seen the video really in this instance probably not but I will say that you know feel. Surfaces are very very important for player safety. You know whether it's a grass field you know what is the old school latch with Pittsburgh steelers. We practice on hard old school astroturf every day for five years so no you got to look at it but in that instance I think it was a matter of the kind of rolling up on the back of his ankle and that was what I saw caused that particular injury about sure it was the field service problem here in addition to the injury of course which is is paramount is the optics of this and when you have a player who says this sort of perception is reality and then then it's out there and you got players. You might believe this is the case whether the optics to this are awful and this time of year teams are trying to realize their fan N._B._C.'s. I've been a part of that for a number of years. Every team has an operations department and kind of like the offensive line. You'd never talk about the operations department until there's a problem and part of their responsibility is to advance where hotels are safety of the fields whether or not the field deal with safer not now the perception is that it was a problem now e._j.. Green fairness may have gotten hurt it was on their practice field but they're players now think that was a factor and they're at the University of Dayton given rookie head coach. He's trying to establish himself itself and now he has a problem in the locker room because these players are questioning what the organization did and that Operation Staff that you're referring to my signed off on the practices being here the League went to them. They sent a site survey team to inspect the field and that site survey survey team for the Bengals said this field is okay to practicing and maybe they thought it's one practice we can get through now. You've got a situation where you see A._J.. Green get hurt on this play and we can take another look at it right here where he goes up for the past the D._v. lands on his ankle. He's on the turf tears ligaments in his ankle. He's going to be sixty weeks. Think about how much is at stake your now. You have a first year head coach Zack Taylor who's trying to come in and implemented program. They've already lost their first round draft. Pick joyner Williams to a season ending injury. Now you lose your left tackle. You lose your number one wide receiver. They are at a loss there and A._J.. Green himself is going into the last year of his contract so at a time when we're talking about new deals for Michael Thomas in Amari Cooper Julio Jones guess who else was on that list of A._J.. Green so what happens now to his value as argument now that he is going to be out for some period of time and organization standpoint. That's a really difficult position because A._J.. Degrees could say hey. I've done all the right things. I was out there practicing at the university because you wanted me to and now that's going to hurt me and take money out of my own pocket. It could really cause a situation to go awry very quickly and again even if the operations team went through all the protocols the the perception is that this feel wasn't safe and now they have a problem with one of their best players. Yeah I think that team without J. Green if you look at their record versus with huge and so he's a big part of their team. He's going to be missed. This is that there's a fair amount of injury here to start. You know this is not the way not the way you want to get off the ground. No team does last last year he missed time with a toe injury and when he was out of there the offense did not operate the same toddler boys production fell off and everybody thinks talent boy. We'll just emerge as the number one guy and he's a really good wide receiver but the fact that matters A._G.. Green when he's out there makes tyler. Holler bought a better received. John Ross still has not stepped up as the first round draft pick that he was. He says he's ready to do that. Will they need him to do that. They've got some other players Alex Berenson some good young receivers but A._J.. Green is on a level with Julio Jones. He's is that kind of talent and when you Jack Taylor coming into his offense it's hard to get by without somebody that good.
Which college produces the best NFL talent?
"A special edition of N._F._l.. Live on deck today at the N._F._l.. Celebrates one hundred season just six weeks away however we are just five weeks away in college. Football Opens It one hundred fiftieth the anniversary so today welcome N._F._l.. You were combining the two worlds to answer age-old question what college produces the best n._F._l.. Talent however I'm Wendy net sand Hutus here you know what's better to be on this panel our expert notice icy expert telling me when Lewis Minute of her panter on the list not on the House for back the quarterback guru he and his brother in a lot of N._F._l.. Games James A lot and Ryan Clark. You see the L. L._S._U.. They are ills college football. L. Is Jonathan Vilma bike. He will join US shortly. He happened to win a National Championship and Oh by the way a super bowl as well coming up on N._F._l.. Live will break down position by position which college produces the best quarterback Oklahoma has the number one overall pick the last two years we have the top ten plays all the N._F._l.. Superstars when they were in college and answering big question which school produces the best all time N._F._l.. Talent we had to ask the players themselves to kick things off. We're the first pick quarterback Oklahoma Viva say Oklahoma Alabama Clemson because proven it is one atop factory the Ohio state highest in Alabama. 'cause I never lost beat out. You really can't understand it into your inside. Sadness programming is all about the you for N._F._l.. Because of Georgia in every aspect but I think L._S._U.. CRESA environment of gray competition and guys is trying to feed off of IT University of Pittsburgh. You Got Dorset. Dan Marina you got Larry. Fitzgerald was not a me show. It's about having everybody involved in working for the Sandal clumps in would cushman he's been doing. He's making people believe everything is possible for House is the best our stop it. Stop stuff well. Let's start shall we with the most players from each college currently in the N._F._l.. Alabama leads the way with V with sixty five players players followed by Ohio state in second place with fifty eight so we're going to debate these schools I in terms of who is best at producing N._F._l.. Challenge here's a tale of the tape on Alabama at Ohio state success since the two thousand draft folks tools I have had thirty one first round picks the most of any school while the Buckeyes have thirteen more total picks in the last twenty drafts but Bama's players have been slightly more successful in the league producing three more pro bowlers than Ohio St Louis Rick. Let's start with with the crimson tide. They're starting eleven if you will offense and defense current N._F._l.. Talent there's any question that these are both very impressive lineups that if Alabama can roll these teams out there right now now. I think they'd win a few games without a doubt. If you look at the offense aside outside of the ball the first thing that jumps out of these starting eleven are the two wide receivers look Julio. Jones is one of the finest athletes in the N._F._l.. For guardless of position he's in the news right now because he's about to get a new contract extension and he's really one of the he's one of the transcendent players at the position that this game the scene Amari Cooper the same way. When Amari came out of college? I remember doing his tape in thinking point honestly as far as catching one pet and run wide receiver. I hadn't seen one as good as him as him. In a long long time on the defensive side look they have fine players throughout the eleven here really that when you get to the secondary and you guys like Eddie Jackson Landon Collins I mean these guys are disband tastic players on the front dont`a hightower our multiple time superbowl winner. These are great great players right here. Make our way to Columbus shower of the to Ohio state you go to the offense side of the football. Look the first thing that jumps out without a doubt as Ezekiel Elliott because if he's not the best running back in the N._F._l.. He would be considered a top three running back in the N._F._l.. Wide Receiver Michael Thomas Really someone who was unheralded coming out of college. He's a tremendous tremendous. Pro will probably be the highest paid wide receiver in the N._F._l.. In short time then move over to the defensive side of the ball this this is where really this football team really kind of jumps off the board starting up Front Joey Bosa Cam Hayward those are two of the best defense alignment in the N._F._l.. Right now and then when you look down there at the Secondary Malcolm Dyson Dinkins Denzel Ward Marshon Lattimore doesn't let's get much better than that. All right Jonathan Vilma made his way again surly qualified to weigh in on this discussion. Look I mean there's a shortage of talent with either of these squads. It's almost ridiculous factory and a lot of ways both of these institutions but let the debate again a Ryan Clark. You can't pick L._S._U.. Just yet but when you look at this group what stands out L._S._U.'s better than both of these things we're gonNA get to that. We're supposed to be talking outlets. Let's be honest. There's amazing players. Neither one of them have a quarterback right before proven yet though little I mean why don't we always have to see something first before we can get you well Ray Richardson running back right you saw God compare that with you why time gentlemen we're GonNa play Nice Got Ninety minutes ago. You're the Glenn Difference from every other position that we're looking at okay fair enough now back to you Louis. It is a production results oriented industry. Is it not so it is fair to say seeing something. Does one believe they'll be success won't sure but I mean we're we'll see this is kind of like a combination of what they have done in college. What some of these guys have done in the pros in some of it's a little bit of projecting about what they're gonNA continue to do in the pros? That's how I'm going to expand it to that all right so at quarterback quarterback Dwayne Haskins I believe right now. There's no comparison as far as I don't care what A._J.. McCarron did it Alabama cows tape. Those Wayne has close exact Haskins is going to be a fine football player. What's going to happen to him? Really is going to be more predicated on what Washington redskins overall due to him then what he does to himself. I firmly believe that as far as these rousers overall look the wide receiver position Julio Jones Amari Cooper. Julio Jones's the standard if you go and look N._F._l.. For an offices and look in their scouting books books every team has a standard at every position that they put for scouts the suit for as far as whenever when their scouting people polio is going to be on that list for for many many teams he's about as good as it gets so skill positions at Alabama are awesome. The defensive players at Ohio State is what stands out for me as far as their front seven is concerned particularly their defensive line and their secondary Denzel Award Marshon Lattimore. You tell me a team that wouldn't take those two young men right now and startled. Let me ask you a specific question since you spend some time as an analyst watching these players at the collegiate level if you had to choose either of this group Alabama Ohio state who's players really got better or who took a bigger step forward than you anticipated when they got to the N._F._l.. Out To you to dance your last part no neither standout. They're pretty equal because watching these guys watching Jonathan Allen he played okay well Dante. I'll tell you knew who is going to be tremendous player defensive player C._J.. Moseley's same thing and then you go to the other side and you look at Joey Bosa Nick Bosa Darren like Malcolm Jenkins. I play with Malcolm Jenkins in in New Orleans knew he was going to be a study. He's Philistine but what is surprising how fast or House they defense is. I did not realize how fast defensive you think big ten you didn't big Brawley guys not so fast but these guys can move joey. Bosa also can move nick volks in Darren League. We know the Burner Malcolm J. Denzel War March. I mean that is a very very talented athletic fast fast defense. I thought I was going to jump in your rookie. I think that's a great question Wendy about as far as what teams teams have players that have gotten better pros. You look at Ohio state this look at their offense. In particular Michael. Thomas was a good wide receiver to hire Stayton. He's fantastic now. He's GonNa be highest paid wide receiver in the N._F._l.. Andrew Norwell most people wouldn't even know Andrew Norwell well what from Andrew Doorbell he right now just judge Moore Norwell can't open open some N._F._l.. Spectacular and even on the defensive side of the ball. I didn't think Marshon lattimore. I've liked Marshon Lattimore at Ohio state. I didn't love Marcet. He has taken his game to another level as well in the really own Alabama side you know how I feel about Alabama I feel nick and what he does and how he builds his program but really focus on their offense align that was just look okay and think about that question. Wendy Wendy asked how many players have gotten better how many have continued to improve Andre Smith may have his best days at Alabama. Dame's carpenter has really been good pro Brian Kelly the jury still out he could be a he's a good player. He's GonNa play already in Indianapolis D._J.. fluker was he ever ever really that guy that dominant guy no. He hasn't been Cam Robinson. Have you seen story so it's interesting because they're preventing people have been many people who've hit Alabama and said they get the best out of their players at Alabama. Maybe it's good discussion legal where people go by what teams there drafted so we look at Michael Thomas he falls into a place where he needs an accurate passer and he's one of the most accurate passers all the time also about the place you land in ashore and how they develop you ask Josh Rosen he absolutely he knows that all too well. I ten Hasselbeck. The whole point of this is to pick one of our producers here a little bit we talked. I'm going Alabama mainly change quarterbacks. Yeah I think looks great point about the offensive line at Alabama because so many of them when you look at them just in terms of body type you're like Oh my God look at those guys body type wise but like I don't know that some of those guys have come in and be like Oh and they got a whole lot better. We're obviously splitting hairs here on this ongoing Alabama Lewis Sorry Nick. Oh from a hustle change your mind or did you stick the way said one because I don't care if between Haskins hasn't played. I think he's I think he's in the saints. Stratosphere is A._J.. McCarron so I like that I liked it their offense of line one of the things that talked about how they develop those guys on the defense aside but they're fun four plus their secondary this going with them Ryan Clark you have to pick one while I was brought here for one reason in one reason only when the Knicks because everyone knew it my answers it would be and what Tim Hasselbeck has proven is. You don't need a quarterback. That's really he's GonNa be Ohio state in Alabama that don't have quarterbacks guess what we don't need a quarterback back and by the way you don't want our first off was good enough for Bill Belichick your boy to draft him as Tom Brady's heir-apparent draft. We thought they they went to L._S._U.. Because this guy has what they decided to we throwing the ball all around the field Andrew Whitworth he's played a thousand years. There's a Guy Jerry go look at the Neil hundred may has like negative two percent body fat Michael Broncos out. There aren't key. We gotta wait on them but it's are are you at the back of position. That's all we got mad. I gotTa get here all even have to work conviction when you spoke scissors. I'm sorry I just so tim. I love your twenty. Two question your toughness Whoa West I've seen because as you know what fair enough he's at Alabama alum landon dare you wait into the circus that we've created. But what do you have to say about this. Whole debate ain't Ryan got some good good good stuff going on say? I wouldn't question his toughness at all. I don't know why you questioned Ryan toughness. I saw him not got a lot of Alabama's always number one no matter Corolla tyrod. Let me ask you a serious question. You know obviously nick. Sabin is a hall of Famer one of the best ever coach this game but specifically what does he do that has allowed such historic success at the university. Steve Alabama <hes> as a coach he speaks for as a coach. He represents his players as players coach. I would say he makes all this coach. All the players are on the him as a player as a father <hes> <hes> and as a as many tried to teach us they'd be a man and a great play all at one time you know so he does it all leading. Can you please tell the people why you are now better that you have trusted your career training with the guy from L._S._U.. Hey right you agreed trying to grow been gone on gone for years
