The top twenty The middle group man. All right grew to every time we get to this third segment. I always tell you guys these guys could be hit or miss As far as where the raking so. I'm saying like the the amount of capital we are putting into what is being said right now for pretty much twenty through eleven is like it can go either way. These guys can do better. And supposed to ashley be higher or they can do worse in dropdown. 'cause best believe some of these teams are loaded with younger But they have to produce a little bit more. What teams are in that type of position will number twenty zone dallas cowboys back last year. They were number twenty four only got higher because they added some more future talent blue chip players wide receiver. Cd lamb quarterback trayvon digs linebacker. Mark parsons notable graduated players. Guys that just left his age group linebacker lane vendors in wide receiver. Michael gallup the best young asset on the cowboys roster is definitely lamb who You know put together nine hundred thirty five yards and five touchdowns his rookie season. He was the cowboys. Top third down target by a wide margin of seventy seven percent conversion rate. His overall efficiency wasn't great with a below average. Devi away But that can be blamed in part of you know with the quarterback situation The rest of young talent on offense or primarily on the line the cowboys offensive line Was devastated by injury. Last season in the silver lining. There is that they're young. Talent gets a lot of playing time left guard. Connor williams twenty four center Tyler bulldozers twenty three Should be started both should be starting this season a right guard. Connor mcgovern. Who's twenty three and right tackle. Tarrant st louis started last year but will give way to the veterans. That are coming back. Up at zach wilson. Lyle collins respectfully They still give the cowboys. Plenty of line. Deb now that they have started starting experience. They'll be ready to go When the time comes of course When it comes to defensive talent is highlighted by their first round. Pick twenty two year-old linebacker. Mike parsons He's flexible Match may pretty much matchup player With six six four fumbles and six pass breakups for penn state between nineteen before acting out last season expecting a of things from this year He had a fumble recovery very quick. And you know vigilant In this preseason game versus the steelers the hall of fame game this past week So looking to see more from really number nineteen the tennessee. Titans day Ranked thirteen last year down a bit here. blue chip players wide receiver. Aj brown defensive. Lineman jeffrey simmons guard. Nate davis notable Graduated players are linebacker. Shaun evans in edge rusher herald landry Here's another team. Where most of the outstanding young talent is a year from falling out of consideration for these rankings. There at the end of this whole Young people group wasi aged brown is a yard after kitsch machine and finished fourth in a in a in delay amongst the wide receivers in the first two. Nfl seasons Defensive lineman jeffrey. Simmons has twenty one hurries last season. An outstanding total for a for a five tick is a three four base defense That that's good in that in those terms. I mean guard. Nate davis is a premier road greater In the running game Although he isn't getting the same amount of steps in synapse. I mean look. He's there as another option that they can believe in There are a couple of young players in the secondaries will safety amani hooker Twenty years old is set to replace kenny vaccaro in the starting lineup. This season cornerback christian. Fulton twenty two Had only six games as a second round rookie. A year ago spent much of this season as a healthy scratch. He needs to show improvement His sake year before we can really put all that capital into them The rest of the younger players here are made as rookies Participe part particularly the first round quarterback caleb farley. Who's twenty two years old. And the second round pick dylan Robbins twenty three A hurts the titans young talent that their first round draft selection of talent a first election first round draft selection of tackle. I say a wilson. A year ago was essentially a wasted pig with wilson. Going a wall in in out of football So that was just a waste. Unfortunately but we're here now. Let's see what titans will do this year number eighteen twenty twenty. They were ranked six. They are now here at eighteen. People have caught up in past them. The pittsburgh steelers Blue chip players of course free safety. Mike face patrick big money. They're allama baqir devon bush wide receiver chase clay wide receiver. Juju smith schuster a notable people that just left out of this category while receiver deontay johnson. Pittsburgh led the nfl defensive delay last season. So it's no surprise that It's young talent base is highlighted by. You know the defensive players were is at the steelers. just wish They had them under contract for a little bit longer. I'm sure We'll start with the secondary. With twenty-four-year-old. Safeties microphones patrick into real edmonds. Fitzpatrick is under contract to two more years. Edmonds only one free safety. "Favors one and not another, unless it's a cross wind Rangers sweat for both When it snows it sweating cold for both win. Be the only thing to help one and go against another, it may say. May not be ableto. Kick his lengthy and field goal. You may be going for it on fourth and one One year at the 37 35 Here are my trying to decide what to do on those long field goal attempt is gonna be interesting. Judging by the flags at the top of the stadium, Stephen Gostkowski would be kicking with the wind at his back. But as you pointed out, it swirls once you get inside the Stadium bowl, and it can be the opposite of what those flags would tend to indicate it does. Totally goes in a circular motion on the football field at Paul Brown Stadium. I don't think either of these quarterbacks stand are gonna be throwing the ball 40 50 yards downfield in the air. I don't think the ones going to be that big of a factor for them, and they both wrote tight spirals. Cut the wind. I think the kicking game you know, punning placekicking. I think that's the biggest effect with this win today. Stephen Gostkowski is 36 years old in his first year with Tennessee after 14 great years with the Patriots, he is ready to kick it up to the dangerous Brandon Wilson. He approaches the ball swings the leg and flap we are underway. Wilson will catch at the three and charge up the middle of the field between the hash marks, totals and offender near the 20 crossing. The 25 gets tackled near the 28 yard line. By Amani Hooker. Not much hang time..

"Thiss. He's eye on football. Active role is out under pressure and football. It's picked up by the Giants Take Crowder's running with Georgia takes it from Philadelphia. 37 Jackson will keep it on the read option. Whole middle 30 20. Jackson right up the middle three from there. 28 Mayfield. Shotgun Snap throws over middle Intercepted it is Fitzpatrick 25 20 people worse your field just found Henry. Looking for some real fighting 10 15 2025 30 35 40 45 55 40 25 19. Here's your host, Rich Ackerman and we're coming to you live from the rocket mortgage by Quicken Loan studios when you want the ability to adjust your loan options in realty time. Rocket can week seven. The Jets remain winless. They hold the bills without a touchdown. But not good enough is the final seconds ticking away and the bills with an eight point lead and the ball. The battle of Ohio has been a wild one job. Burrow has just rallied. The Bengals, and they have a two point lead point. After pending the Cowboys lose another quarterback and lose another game falling to the Washington football team, 25 to 3, So they are both two and five. While the Eagles lead the division at 24 and one the Saints improved a foreign to holding off Teddy Bridgewater in the Panthers. 27 2 20. For that is the score in Nashville, where better office Burger with a three point lead was picked off the end zone and the two minute warning and right now the Titans have the ball with a chance after trailing big in the first half. It's been no problem for the Packers today of a 15 point lead over the Texans with a minute and a half left. Houston does have the ball in its own end and the Falcon's with a late touchdown and the two point conversion. The Lions now down by six with under a minute left to go. So the tribe I should say Atlanta looking for back to back wins after the Owen five star. Let's go to Brian Douglas in Tennessee, where it has been a thriller today, Brent And going down to the wire here were just inside the two minute warning. The Titans have the ball at midfield. As you mentioned just a moment ago. This being set up with the Pittsburgh running a 16 play Dr nearly eight minutes off the clock. And ended up in a interception. When Amani Hooker pull it in after a couple of tips around it's broccoli burgers, third interception off the game, and that was huge. Because the Tennessee Titans who I mentioned several times today, they've been behind in the fourth quarter on four of their five drives. Does far on this game are four on the season, and so far, they're just trying to be the cardiac kids again here as they're trying to move the ball. They just got another first down. But a couple of short passes to Derrick Henry out of the flat last week led to a big, huge run in overtime, which led to the Titans victory. And now the Titans trying to get the ball there about 10 to 15 yards away from the outer range of Stephen Gostkowski field goal down by three they would have a chance to tie it. And Adam Humphreys just misses a second down past 105 left to go in the fourth Titans facing a 3rd 12 8 about 10 yards for a field goal pants. And a chance to tie it with Pittsburgh. But the Steelers silly 27 24. All right before we go, Teo browns and Bangles that said to Adam swollen in Houston under a minute left there between the Packers and Texans, Adam Drinking is over. The Texans moves to the Packers 35 to 20. The Texans didn't get one more touchdown. In this game. It was Shawn Watson, the Wolf Fuller and the detectives actually recovered the onside kick. But David Johnson fumbled the ball on the very next play, Green Bay recovered and that they were able to just feel this went out. So the Packers with Wayne over they get past the law from last week's game in Tampa Bay, so they improved. Five won. The Texans are now one and six on the year. Aaron Rodgers was terrific today. 23 of 30 for 283 yards and four touchdowns. Davante Adams 13 catches 196 yards and two touchdowns. Jamal Williams, starting in place of the injured errand of Right. Aaron Jones was rain, the ball 19 times for 77 yards and a touchdown for Houston, Shawn Watson, 29 39 314 yards and two touchdowns. Randall Cobb caught eight passes. Raining, cooks caught setting but the Texans with lost now what is six Green Bay if five and one of the Packers win today, 35 20, another nail biter in Atlanta, three seconds left and the Lions able to get to the Atlanta eight. Let's go to Jeff's L. Will it land us up right now? 22 to 16. With three seconds to go. It's first and goal from the eight. They're looking to see about a play on the plane. Now alliance had the ball at the 40 yard line. They do a 32 yard completion. Matt Stafford to Kenny Golladay 32 yard completion down to the eight yard line. And when Detroit was trying to get set up to spike, the ball look like they weren't set in motion. So I don't know if that will be a penalty to roll off time or not, but Atlanta got their score with. They got their points first points of the second half with 104 to go with Todd Gurley ran 10 yards for a touchdown. Then Matt Ryan completed a pass the cavalry to the two point conversion that gave it later, the 22 to 16 Lee. That was after Matt Prater had kicked his third field goal of the game from 49 yards out with 3 16 left to get the Lions a 16 to 14 lead and look like Detroit had no chance at all. Because they have no time outs left, But we're looking now to see what the ruling is. On the field again. The lions of the Balto 40 yard line, Stafford completed a 32 yard pass the holiday at eight. It's clear when he spiked the ball. Detroit wasn't set. They called a penalty, which would put the ball back a couple of yards to the 11 or 12 for not being set where we're looking to see now, if they're going to say there's a runoff on the clock, but right now I was stands. The Falcons are up 22 to 16. Three seconds to go Detroit with the ball first and goal at the 10 yard line, All right, so that's where we stand. We'll see if the Lions could get through this here. Ah, and the Falcons can hold on. Told you about the thriller in Cincinnati. Let's get born. This one right now. Here's Christian Vetter. Get rich under a minute to go. 44 seconds left in this game mingle, played 30 for 31 over the Browns of Browns with the ball right now, with the second into at the Cleveland 46 yard line. Baker Mayfield found Donovan people Jones on the 13 yard catch under the Cleveland 38. The current play is under review. The Browns leading 31 27 with 4 53 2 bagels get the ball trailing 31 27 that they needed a touchdown. Put together a 10 place. 75 yard drive 23 47 o'clock job job. Earl calmly rose a three yard touchdown pass to running back Giovanni Bernard. Give them the 34 31 lead the Bangles on that on that drive. No burrow finding tea Higgins for a 12 yard past Tyler Boyd 15 yard Mike Thomas 25 yards, So Joe Burrow calmly takes them down the field, a three minute 47 yard dried drive to take the lead the lead by a field goal with just 44 seconds left in this game. Joe Burrow has tossed three touchdowns in this game. Also and energy through an interception and ran for a touchdown in the first quarter, and Baker Mayfield, 20 and 25 for 243 yards, four touchdowns and an interception. They trail the Browns that is trailed by a field goal with just 44 seconds left in the game. 30 for 31 single lead, which is 44 seconds left in the game, all right, three seconds in Atlanta, a one play from the 11 yard line for the Lions, who are down by six right now. Stephen Kostovski, who has been so good in the clutch for the Titans comes up short. Missing a field goal attempt and able to hold on are the Steelers 27 2 24. So the Titans lose For the first time this year, Kostovski had been such a big part of their early victories with late kicks..

"Getting into it after the play bunker looked like he hit him right in the face to know flag. Butler, of course, made his name when he played for the New England Patriots shotgun, snap quick, thrown left side of the ball bobbles and then caught on the rebound. I was Tim Patrick. There could be a short game to the 37 yard line of about four was a hitch route. Patrick went down to catch it. Bobble. It caught it record. It brings up a third down now. Third, Nate Kick butt was in there on that play. It's good to see Jake on the roster and looks like he is going to get some playing time here tonight for the Denver Broncos. Great story coming back from three A. C L's Hamilton, Judy and Patrick outside in trips, right? No fans left shock and snap for Drew. Lock Moz it up. He's got Judy down the right sideline, an airmail stamp it about the 30 yard line. Judy did have a step and a half there on the defender. That was Chris Jackson ball a little bit too far in Denver with 804 left in this first quarter will have to punt the football away with the line of scrimmage being the Broncosthirty seven If Judy would have got his hands on that ball, the safety coming over free safety Kevin Byard Was about to put the wood to him. Judy kind of flinched a little bit. I don't know if you noticed that I could. I could feel it appears it brings back very bad memories. So here's the punt by Sam Martin Raymond, With the catch on the punt return, had straight ahead, he's upended and a penalty flag thrown from behind the play. 23 yard, Linus, where Raymond was tackled. Tackle there by Derek Tuscan, who was just activated right before the game. The seventh round draft return holding receiving team number 37 in your first holding calls on Amani Hooker as I mentioned during Tusk 1/7 round draft choice rookie out of North Dakota state. So that'll back tightens up inside their 15 yard line. We get a time out in the field with 8 52 left in this first quarter scoreless from power field at Mile High, the Broncos and the Titans of the K O a Broncos radio network tomorrow on Colorado's morning news. What would another stimulus package mean for Wall Street and Main Street will ask an expert And the players and coaches weigh in on the Broncos season opener on K O a news radio Sometimes in business, the unexpected comes calling. George my thoughts are with his family friends and everybody who knew him and loved him in the wake of that killing there's been new attention paid to police brutality is well as institutional and systemic racism and that scrutiny is also being applied to a number of college football programs big time programs around the country it had which it had to address comments made by coaches over the asked both of Doyle the highest paid strength coach in the country and of the head coach because he's the man in charge he should be the one who knows what the culture of that program is like how many times have I had a coach or general manager on this program and the subject of cultures come up pretty much every single time culture is the one thing the coaches love to talk about is the one thing coaches love talking about the most because it's the thing they believe that they can control the most they know they can't necessarily control wins and losses or the way the ball bounces on the field of the culture that's their culture for at least one player this is the Iowa culture or the I. away so France was quick to release the video on Saturday calling this quote a defining moment for the Iowa Hawkeye program and a quote and creating an advisory committee of former and current players he then conducted a zoom call with the media Sunday so credit for responding quickly to a crisis I guess sort of but where has this been where has he been over the years and how is he surprised by this how is this a crises right now the first question from a reporter on Sunday was how does this happen here is the head coach's response to that question the the third quarter let me just preface it by saying this and this is something I shared with our staff on Saturday morning when we all woke up on Friday routine that was coming off a successful season at a great moment and she's in San Diego and when we left campus on the thirteenth of March also like you know we're well positioned with this team and what program moves forward so I was very excited about that obviously what's happened since that point huh what yes it's a fair question you're right of course is a fair question what are you doing referencing a December bowl win over USC in response to that question and this isn't something that has changed since they're from former players we just leave the program this it just happened since our last game these are issues that go back years.

Andre swift has not taken a snap in the NFL yet for the Detroit Lions he's slated to make more money then Dalvin cook by a couple hundred thousand dollars so Dalvin certainly deserves to get paid more by the Minnesota Vikings is no doubt about it does he need to be in a sixteen million dollar Christian McCaffrey range no but he should be one of the top paid he he needs to be up there it's ridiculous I know he had a a torn ACL in his first season but this man needs to get paid I just told you about Aaron Rodgers the general manager of the Green Bay Packers said he is expected to be here for quite a while they're gunning for championships in Green Bay even though they drafted his replacement incident necessarily get him too much self so draw and look into that what you will so we have more of the show I want to talk to you about quite a few things that I'm going to break down some of the NFL rules for return I'm gonna do that later on in the show they basically outlined some of their health protocols which I don't find to be all that realistic or reasonable we can lay out rules we can lay out you know guidelines for players and teams to follow but is that realistic in a contact sport like the NFL we're going to go ahead and discuss that Colin Capra Nick is said to be in the best shape of his life is that a true statement is is this something that was you know rolled out by a member or a leak by by a buddy it is is fake it doesn't matter I mean we haven't seen him play football since twenty sixteen I saw him in his work out at the at the end of last year I saw that with my own eyes he looked ready what does he look like you know six seven eight months later we're gonna go ahead and discuss that more interesting news something interesting in this just took place over the weekend we know what the racial climate has been in and and chest this this this past week the past several weeks have just have have been wild here in United States of America you go from the pandemic you move into the fight for equality and social justice and for a lot of people this is brand new nose but for a lot of African Americans in the country this is the same old patent people want change and it's understood that they want so the you know what we had to deal with drew Brees comments which I've I've found I told you last week I found them to be disrespectful and then as a result of that drew Brees you know he heard it from a lot of people then he apologized in me he said you know what I'm sorry this is what I said was a diversion from the real topic at hand that's any NFL the NC double a in college football has not been the you know they haven't been exempt any of this because I mean out out all teams you know Iowa the Hawkeyes they've had to deal with their own situation coach Kirk Ferentz he's basically put the strength and conditioning coach Chris Doyle the program has put him on administrative leave because the seamen over the span of about three or four days you have former hot guys who said that they were treated differently while they are I don't know what James Daniels is the offense of linemen for the bears is he hasn't been out of school for more than a couple of years and he said there too many racial disparities in Iowa football program black players have been treated unfairly for far too long now we have our safety Amani hooker was drafted by the Titans last year he says I remember whenever walking into the facility it would be difficult for black players to walk around the facility and be themselves as of the way you grew up was the wrong way or wasn't acceptable and that you would be judged by that and it would impact playing time and I'm with the the fact is you have Chris Doyle you know he's he's on leave and he's been there since he's led the program since nineteen ninety nine he makes more money than any strength and conditioning coach in the college system eight hundred thousand dollars a year a lot of the players point to him he says I've been asked to remain silent but that's impossible for me to do they've been statements made about my behavior that are not true I don't claim to be perfect I've made mistakes learn lessons in like every American citizen can do better at no time have I ever cross the line of unethical behavior or bias based upon race I do not make racist comments and I don't tolerate people who do and he expects for the record in his record so it's a pretty much show out and we'll see I mean you know coach Ferentz see he's put together an advisory an advisory committee former players active players so pretty much figure out how they can best go about being a a better program and I think like a lot of programs here in the United States of America not just you know athletic programs not college programs not pro sports programs a lot of places here in the United States of America they when it comes to employment when asked to deal with equal treatment across the board this is a this is a part of everybody waking up in understanding the the the climate of the country and not just the climate of where things are right now but how they have been so this is an unusual so I would suspect that we're going to see more instances like what we've seen take place what the Hawkeyes this isn't the first time we're going to hear this expect to hear more so I was football program they've been pushed right to the forefront and let's see how they go about responding to any changes and you can also see expect to see a lot of teams be pro active in setting up committees to salute to check in on how they conduct business behind closed doors how they treat their players how they hire I mean the NFL for the ridiculousness that they've spent for the past twenty years and trying to enact the proper Rooney rule and you can expect to see more of that across the board so Iowa they got their work cut out for them right now they're at the forefront of change and let's see how serious they take these accusations and decide to move forward now speaking of football as a whole in the NFL today online things are rather interesting I turned my head muscle drew lock was trending and my goal why is drew lock trending me play five games last year John Elway looks like he's entrusted him to at least get first shot with the franchise and then when I finally saw one drew lock is trimming its because ESPN did what a lot of places are doing it just like all this no football so let's figure out something to talk about and they re drafted the entire NFL in when you want to talk about quarterbacks I mean forget QB's overall drew lock went fifteenth this is someone who hasn't played more than five NFL games it makes zero sense drew lock is a great player in it's it's it's it's pretty fun because Dalton Risner his offense of guard who protects him right in front of them he was on the show a couple weeks ago and I asked him specifically what makes you lock so exciting to play with why do you believe that drew lock is the future and he gave me a very interesting training camp story if you recall last season drew lock was playing behind Joe Flacco well Dalton Risner was actually in training camp he wrong with drew lock and when I asked him why what makes this guy so important why do you think he's the future of the franchise Dalton had a interesting story to share with me listen to Dalton Risner basically tell me what drew lock is the future for the Broncos are what makes them stand out no blacked out with the guy heading into our your last year and you got drafted a new that you have an opportunity opportunity at some point but he wasn't sure if you're staying up as late as I was you know he did record a voice memo of the play and then he put his headphones on and play that moist memo back to the office of coordinator was telling that to him then he would say it out loud as if he was in a huddle and he just did little things like that he wanted to be competent he wanted that to be that guy when he came on the field be ready to announce the play no everyone's position where they were supposed to go route blocking schemes everything and that's kind of what I knew okay drew lock has that it factor he you know he's not preparing to be a starter right now because lack of the god he's making sure he's ready and that that meant a lot to me and aside from how true is when you get on the field bring the whole different swagger the team you know he's gonna celebrate when he scored a touchdown weather's pretend like you've buzz Lightyear or whatever yeah whatever it is there is going to do it and he just has a whole different edge to the whole office when he's out there when we line up is offline you know we know that winter's actors quarterback in anything's possible especially with the weapons that we have now watch TV too so I could talk about you for awhile but there's a few things I feel like separate himself separate temperament one else okay that's from the mouth of his own seeming but I must remind you drew play five games last season he threw seven touchdowns had three interceptions completion percentage of sixty four percent in this quote unquote mock draft.

"Ianfitzsimmonsespn and Jim Nagy. What are the stories on day? One was too tight ends from the university of Iowa both being taken in the first round TJ Hopkinson goes eight to Detroit and then number twenty the Denver Broncos took his teammate, no offense, Iowa head coach Kirk ferrets explaining with the lions and Broncos should expect from these two just depends on what you're looking for. And you know, I mean, my sister tell you if you watch about five plays a fan, and it's like, holy smokes. Can this guy run? I don't I don't know who the fast tight end at the combine would be I think no ran a four five this year, and he's faster than that. Like, if you watch him he can just you know, he's probably like third-fastest guy on our team last year. Maybe maybe second. I don't know he can really run. So that that that's a skill set. That's just really unusual. You know, and he's a he's got a good tall linear body and he's willing blocker. So I mean, he's a really good player. Then TJ he put them on any other team. You described him as a really fast. I don't accept you know, he's playing on the team with the guy. That's got receivers speed. So he was second-fastest tie-down, but he's a very good blocker. And you know, the thing about TJ, I think that was interesting. I felt people wanted to one play that always think about it would be in the fourth quarter against Mississippi State in the poll game or leading at that time. And Lord knows how the three guys drafted right off their defense first round the other night. So we can't move the ball. All we can't block these guys. And we have to your tests next. Not moves it down about eighteen twenty yards and breaks, five tackles and my point. There is like, you know, we just needed some breath of fresh air at that point we needed to know clock kit or keep our defense whilst feel a little bit and change field position. And sometimes I was told by very wise. Coach wants thank players don't think place. You know, when when you need a player needs something to happen that was TJ. So they're both top guys. And you know, I think both Denver and Detroit really kind of really great. Picking those guys interesting guys as we're listening to Kirk farance Iowa head coach at that. Same time another Hawkeye just went off the board safety. Amani Hooker goes to the Tennessee titans who traded up five spots to get him. So when you look at and you saw these guys I I know we've watched them all season long when it.

I wish I understood at rugby. I just don't understand why no pads. It's on ESPN two. I mean. Seen it before doesn't mean. I understand it. I know they're scrums and dudes lift dudes way up in the air. And I think they have something called touchdowns and yet no bit hurt plan. Nobody wears that many doesn't seem like that many. That's where I mentioned the rugby style. Now. Here's the thing. Like you watch this. And then the next time I try to watch four seconds of soccer going to get even more mad than to do. Like these dudes legitimately get just drilled and yet soccer guys need some magic spray to recover or they're going to like never live again. I mean, it's unbelievable. These guys are massive and tough and great anyway. Sorry for punting their rugby player just got signed by somebody. I saw that wouldn't be the first rugby or Australian rules rugby. Because we got a deer big big board of safeties. Let's go Mel. Mel typing. He is the most fascinating intriguing player in the district the NFL draft. "Nine. Chauncey garner. Johnson was available at twenty nine. Let's just really get it to those two. Let's say let's say we take let's say that. She's go ahead and take. Let's let's give them Chauncey Gardiner Johnson. How about that? Fine. Or would you? Chauncey Gardiner Johnson, Mattie, I would lean towards Tillery just because the investment they've already in safety. Okay. So we're gonna go Jerry Tillery. That's actually, Jerry tiller. I believe is the highest rated player in the Casey draft guide shameless plug, so let's move on to sixty one and sixty three. You've got scary. Terry MacLaurin Zack Allen Imani Hooker, Trayvon Molin, all still avail Amani or Awari still available. So why don't we give them? Let's give them a Montessori Awari a. And let's give Zach Allender Amani Hooker. Craig? Let's go with Hooker. So we've got Tillery Amani Oro are a in a Mani Hooker. Okay. Let's we still don't have any edges. Okay. And then at ninety two. Let's okay. Kelvin Harman's still available at ninety two. So let's just go ahead. Take Kelvin Harman. How about that? Right. That's fine. I think if the draft with that to the first three picks as think Andy's Avella pick becomes a lot better. But it may just a lot more sense. If you're taking India's fella there in term of trying to score more points giving yourself somebody that navy develops into a wide receiver that can take over for walk ins or for tyreek hill in the future. It's just with the way the draft before that is a bell was not the best low, and I would take I would take Harmon just over India's Bill. Well, who knows because Todd mcshay soon who knows Ed I supposedly Jalen Ferguson three which years me so much. Everybody has Jalen Ferguson still going around kit. You just have to accept it. And he wouldn't point percent is that she's type in terms of the in terms of his physical makeup. He's still going around two or three if they take him at twenty nine I I'm going to quit the Naga taking. Early but round two fair game. Okay. We're going to stop and take a break, and we will be back with similar questions. Right after this. Listeners. This is Luke Thomas show.

"Outside the the hashes. He sees stuff developed really quick, and he's quick to attack the line of scrimmage well. And while we're on safeties. Why don't we get into Amani Hooker from Iowa and Darnell savage from Maryland a couple of other guys? I know you like, yeah. A couple of big tank kids. So Monte hookers a little bit of a different style. Then what we just got done talking about with Chauncey garner Johnson. A Monte is a guy who can play nickel. But he's nowhere near the dynamic athlete. And my question with him. After I washed his tape was I just don't know how athletic he is. Because he didn't show a lot of burst in spring. So that that's something to at least accounts for, but he had great athletic testing at the NFL combine so it kind of. Took me back, and I reached him again, and what I kind of came away with. He's just so controlling calculated with his feet. He's very very crisp and deliberate with his feet, even if it's not the most sudden pedal that he has when he has to gain depth that the snap or his transitions. Those steps are very clean. There's no wasted movement there, and it almost gives him the perception that he's not moving particularly fast. But I love the pedigree that he has coming out of Iowa. And he was a player that was used in several different kinds of situations. He's not a guy I would want in the deep or the deep portions of the field by himself to play cover one as a single high safety. But if you're playing split safeties and cover two or he you wanna roll him down and ask him to do some things inside a fifteen yards in zone coverage and a little bit of man to man, if you've got a safety that's going to be over top of them to help them out in the nickel. He could win in those situations, and then Darnall savage from Maryland is just an extremely. Potent athlete. I thought he developed and got his ball skills. Much much better throughout the course of his entire college career. He's got a little bit of Karl Joseph in it from West Virginia was a first round pick for the Oakland Raiders as far as he's a booming hitter. He is explosive speed. He will close and close down angles in absolutely no time at all. And he had a chance to show a little bit more versatility later in his career where he was just kinda pegged as like this box speed. Big hitter type of safety, but he he can really really bring it in a lot of different areas. And I think he's a player that you've seen a recent rise for so I wouldn't be surprised if he is a top fifty top sixty pick. When it's all said and done is a guy who was generally considered a late day too early day three kind of guy. How about a quarterback Brett Rippin? I it's not a name that we you've heard a lot in this process. Yeah. So coming into this year. I was really looking for a quarterback. They kinda separate himself from the pack and obviously with Dwayne Haskins only having a half a game against Michigan under his belt and column or being behind Baker Mayfield. Like this summer studying quarterbacks was a rough study Rippin was one who at least stood out for having pro style traits. And I love the way he moves his is. But even him this year he took big steps forward as far as the crispness of his decision. How quickly his eyes are moving. I think he's a career backup. If you had to put him in a situation to start it. He's a scheme specific started. But he could be an average starting quarterback. It's pro level. His his biggest problem is his stature he's right around six to other shade under six two and he's like two hundred and five pounds. So he doesn't have a great Bill. But if he's able to build that up and relieve some of those concerns about durability the guy who's not mobile enough like Tyler Murray to avoid big hits and constantly flush the pocket and avoid getting himself crushing Kriens Brett rip in has some of the best down the field. Throws under pressure of any quarterback in this year's class..

"Will we will have to believe me. I'll i'll. Hey male percents chance. Dolphins move up to draft Heaver Haskins locks lost. Thank you. I don't know about Miami. You keep hearing the Redskins baby has a team that jets looking to get at it three. Miami. Will drew lock be? There may be not they've they're just waiting for two and next year. Maybe Rashaan Gary gets there. And maybe my sweat gets there. The defensive end defensive tackle may be over the quarterback is the quarterbacks may all be gone by then and maybe Miami doesn't move. Maybe a fact that is the Washington Redskins. All right, Michael in Texas. What's your question? Michael here. You are. Okay. I was just gonna ask Mel where he thought to to Texas Tech guys Antoine Wesley. The receiver Dakota Allen the linebacker might be what round they might go in Wesley just all stronger. He's got the frame and the hands. I think Wesley a third round draft choice. Like the code Allen is a late round. Pick Scott's in Ohio, Scott, good morning. What you got? Hey, thanks for taking my call. We're taking Roger FM and says with the first pick in the draft the Cleveland Browns. So that and then he realizes that. That's not happening. Clashing is the Browns. A second round HSA move up. And if they do if they don't move how about that defensive back for Michigan state that big total lane. Yes. Air carry Willis. I carry Willis right now carrying a second or third round grade. It's a great sate. Your by the GM say to me there will be more safeties in the first two rounds than Cornerbacks though, safeties Darnell savage junior. Marilyn will Harris Boston College. Amani Hooker Iowa. Shawn Gardner Johnson, Florida, all one Thornhill Virginia. There's a lot of safety. And I would think that John Dorsey is gonna target one of those guys Kevin's Georgia. What's your question for milk? Hey, Mel my question for you is when the falcons pick if Ed Oliver's there, do you think they should take him or the best available offense of lineman yet Grady Jarrett somebody next to him? Maybe Chris I think Oliver goes maybe nine with buffalo Christian Wilkins. Clemson very versatile player would fit them at fourteen defensive tackle Wilkins from Clemson over the offensive lineman. Of course, they're restructuring things are added carpenter and Brown. I think they go more defensive tackle with this one the strengths of the draft. Take advantage of that. If you're Atlanta, they do that very well and Christian Wilkins. I could be there at fourteen Tony in Vancouver British Columbia. What do you got for mill bay mail? What's the story would Tyree Jackson? I seen him on YouTube. I know it's not the best way to judge talent. But this guy was causing seventy five yard bombs consistently and throwing sixty yards on the run. I wouldn't mind Seattle got ahold of this guy. Maybe how Russell work with him. Because you're right. You're you're right about Tyree Jackson's outstanding. Developmental quarterback. He's got obviously, you talk about kids. Six seven that can throw the ball like he can enhance the work ethic. And that's one thing. They raid the bad as he wants to be great. He studies. He's passionate about it little Radic little inconsistent. But he's a guy a work in progress that you take probably third round no later in the fourth round. And if you're a team looking to spend two years three years developing a quarterback that has some really good upside with that arm that talent and the passion for the game that he does I tell you what another year in college with some development. You could have been maybe looking at a late one early to mid two if you can get him in the third round Tyree. Jackson would be a nice pickup for team already has that guy. They're looking for the apparent with us New England. Whether it's New Orleans anybody like that, whether it's the chargers, those will be some of the teams that I think would be maybe in the market for Tyree. Jackson, reminder, come hang out when eight hundred flowers dot com Twitter feed at ESPN radio.

"So you're kind of thinking guys like me grant of Marshall who is is a good player, but he needs to catch up kind of on its football. I q some misread type stuff. He's up there Amani Hooker. If you're looking for a straight one to one replacement, he's for landing Collins. He's like a kind of the same type of player where he's more comfortable down in the box. Look, I felt one Thornhill if we had this discussion we go ahead. I probably would have told you one Thornhill of Virginia would be the perfect spot. You know, more th-round very good player. Good experience. Nice size the whole deal that maybe not just a great player though. He's solid. I think he would have been right there. He tore the combine apart. So you wonder if he kind of jumped into the third round type of range where again, you're you're a little bit in trouble there, if you're the giants trying to find these players, but some of the ones I would think about Thornhill want, especially I think if if the giants get him he would be a slam dunk. You don't after that? A lot of the guys are. Second round type players, quite frankly, Syria, delay of of Delaware Chauncey garden. Johnson of Florida whose second round may be first round Deontay Thompson of Alabama. Who is a very good coverage safety probably the same way in the second round. So that it's a it's a tough spot in that regard not having third round pick. Because after after all the guys I've just mentioned it's on a bad position. But you're drafting for extremely specific traits out of these players like there's not there's not great all around safeties. You're gonna find in the later fourth fifth round. Dan last question for you. You know, we talked about quarterbacks we're gonna kinda circle back to the quarterback question here. So the giants don't get Dwayne Haskins if that's their guy or whether it's maybe it's drew lock who knows? They don't get their guy at six, and we know quarterbacks get overdrafted. So there's you know, there's always the question of his Daniel Jones of first round pick. You know who else is going to be a first round pick. Let's just suppose, you know, they're sitting there at thirty seven. Who'd you see a quarterback at thirty seven who would be a good value pick at that point. And you know is a guy who a realistically could be there and be you think can be a good starting quarterback in the NFL. Well, the the names there will probably to me be Daniel Jones of Duke like you mentioned in the the connection there. Of course is fascinating David cut cliff in the Manning's all that. And will Greer of west Virginia's probably the other one personally to me if you don't take Haskins at six or higher. I would not take a quarterback this year. I think you're wasting a pick because I think Jones in Greer are decent players. Same way that Andy Dalton is a decent player, of course, maybe more mediocre than decent. But that's kind of what I'm getting out with those two where I don't see superstar in them. So to me if you're not gonna do Haskins at the top of the first round, just wait a year..

"And it is interesting just talking to coaches and them telling me the position that, you know, Florida puts polite in is pretty good position to actually go ahead and get you know, a lot of sex Quinton Williams. No surprise there. Tony polling report. Kevin given his interesting from Penn State. He's kind of a poor man's Aaron Donald body tagging. I think he'll be a late pick somebody like him and think he can be a good nickel inside rusher for that in hill from UCF. What about the linebackers Fran? Yeah. Though, Sean Joseph kind of leads the group that we've seen the last few weeks from Florida and intriguing clarinet. I'm excited to study David long from west. Virginia and other guy who's going to be at the senior bowl from the underclassmen rank. So I'll see him in mobile tyrel dots in from Texas and them has been making place for the all year long. Jo Giles Harris from Duke a lot of people are excited about a guy. That's got some versatility compla- inside off the edge. Jeff Allison from Fresno state had been extremely productive for the BULLDOGS out west and then Joe cya Tofte as well from UTSA. Now, a lot of people are talking about this guy. But there is some buzz about him in scouting circles. So keep an eye out for that good as well. Wesley. How about the DB's friend? Byron Murphy big-name made it official on Monday. So a lot of people think he'll be a first round pick keep in mind, though, he did get a second round grade from the NFL draft advisory board. So we'll see what his status is moving forward Julian love from Notre Dame studied him in the summer really really intriguing kid Jamal dean from Auburn. It's been up and down this year, but he declared Joon Williams from Vanderbilt former receiver big bodied kids six three over two hundred and ten pounds. Keep an eye out for that kid David long from Michigan Clifton duck from Appalachian state, very very productive throughout the course of his career. So keep an eye out for Clifton duck Ozzy left due to the coaching change. And then Ryan pulley from Arkansas half Cheever's from Boston College. Both those guys corners that made it official on Monday. And then lastly from the safety group, Mike bell from Fresno state. Tony Poulains been all over that. Since earlier this season Taylor rap from Washington. And then lastly, Amani Hooker who was the big ten defensive back of the year the safety from Iowa. And guess what it never stops? That'll do it for today's college draft podcast. But next week we will already be rolling into the postseason college all star games the college bowl circuit. I cannot wait..

"Boards more than any of the prospect in terms of how he started at the beginning of the season to how he's going seven sacks last four games seven sex last four games did it on a major state against Penn State, and you can see the F lettuces. And you saw the ability to come to change directions. His hand skills. He's he's an interesting guy and he plays so hard. Yeah. Older is non stop you have to like him. And also the game. You gotta like the running backs. Now, he. Twenty six for one forty four to touched. I me when they needed him. He. Yeah, he put he put he put him on his back. Mason plays. Ran the ball thing with running backs. Now, though, you have to be able to go back and say Kenny impact the passing game because the guys that we're seeing that have been taken up top the last couple of years with exceptional Linnet for net. And now the things are out about dinner for that. But Zeke Elliot Christian McCaffrey Alvin Kamara saquon Barkley, they all have been able to be significant significant contributors in the passing game kitchen ball at the backfield. Yeah. So okay. Couple more for me. And this one, you know, I remember these two guys popping out to me when I will beat the brakes off my hoosiers in a regular season. And then watching them play against Mississippi State yesterday. Fan may be one of the best tight end prospects. Maybe the best tight end prospect in the draft this year, he didn't play but TJ Hopkinson the how can you have to tighten? How could you possibly have two tight ends dead. May I was the Mackey award winner. And then then the best tight end prospect in the draft didn't play. I don't know how you get to guys like that. I love Hawkins it. I don't know if he comes out this year, but maybe what whatnot. Yeah. I don't know if it'll be any higher. You have two tight ends that you can play like yet fans knew it. But you got to legitimate guys that can play. He is what we call a wide in meaning a true tiny mini. He can block in line in the run. Yeah. He can run you out like Vance McDonald today he can make he can make plays. He can do those things. He is not what we call like those like last year, we talked about thicky like he's not one of those guys that's a oversized jumble wide receiver. Not never Ingram. Right. He's a he's a legitimate tied in it's hard to find those guys. And then you have like technically, a former Iowa Hawkeye enjoy kill those and sits the record. And then we always said a Stanford is the place de produces tied in. But now do we need to look back at Iowa Iowa tight end. Do you look at I like me. I know they don't have Hayden fry into stand up tied in but they used to. Yeah. But so that was that's one. I love that dude that he's a fun guy to watch. And then. Amani Hooker was the one of the best in the big ten award. He's the best player on the best scoring defense in the big ten this year. He ended up starting at strong safety and then gets moved outside linebacker. It's like six one to ten. So now, he he becomes one of those guys. And I think he's he was a true junior this year. So I don't know where he is. But he becomes one of those guys dead is is kind of lights kind of all the rage now. All the right. Yeah. Kind of like the way we've seen chargers. Daily charges us Derwin James or who've him around and drop them in the box one week, then they're tackles like a freight train. I mean, just just all those things. So the more that you can do an as this game can the shifts and we're seeing more people spread it out on office. You have to have the right personnel to combat that on defense the mortgage. You can do the flexibility the versatility debt, you displaying, your background and really really matters. Yeah..
