"Road north End of the Mall that Northwest corner there. That is where the large police presence is right there kind of buy the pot bellies restaurant. There's an exterior entrance that also enters right into the mall. Between Mayfair and Pot bellies, and that's where we've seen the majority of people going in and out. Posted police ambulances, SWAT teams from throughout the area. Continue to come and go from the mall. We don't yet know. I don't think Eric. Do we have any indicator when we might hear from police? No, not at this point and usually Once they have a little bit more of a concrete idea of what they're working with. They might send out a quick tweet with some information. Or maybe say, Hey, we're going to set up a command post into a news conference that you know this time. We're still waiting for that to take place and it has not, And that could be for several different reasons. One is still a fluid situation, too. They're still trying to get all the information they need from those who were involved in the situation. And three. I mean, it could still be active. I mean, what we're told from the mayor there is that they're clearly still working this scene. They're still trying to determine it. Andre from what we can share Just from what we're seeing on some of the monitors we have here, thanks to our partners that teams of four news it does not look as urgent. Around the doorway here leading into the Macy's Now That does not mean anything. That doesn't necessarily mean everything is over or anything like that. We're just telling you what we're seeing here is that there is not this large active Urgent police presence that we can see at this time outside the Macy's interested no detail attached to it. But the FBI is not confirming that there has been a shooting at Mayfair Mall. Not any other detail that we know from the F B, I We know the FBI is indeed on scene. It has been a lot of difficulty activity at Mayfair Mall over the course of the last year. It was in February that 17 year old Alvin Cole was shot and killed in the Mayfair Mall parking lot by Tosa police after firing at them, according to police with a stolen gun. Joseph MENSA, then fired at the Milwaukee Vincent High School senior and killed him after cold brandished a nine millimeters semiautomatic handgun, which was recovered at the scene. You may recall that after that shooting took place. There were a lot of protests out there before the D A made a decision on whether criminal charges would be filed against Joseph Men said there were protests. There were people that were harassed, trying to eat out there at the restaurants like Cheesecake Factory. There were protests that took place day and night and that the decision came down not to charge Joseph MENSA, and the protests continued their four days where there was a heavy police presence there. At Mayfair, the national Guard was actually called out to Mayfair. To make sure that nothing got out of hand. The shooting took place in February. The protest took place throughout the summer and into the fall. And now today, this and I'm not making a suggestion that the two are related because I have no indicator that the album cold Joseph MENSA shooting is related to what happened today. Today. Another incident at Mayfair Mall or the FBI is confirming that shots were fired at the mall. Our sources telling us that at least seven people Were shot at the mall. He told the mayor saying that yeah, there was a shooting at the mall. There were multiple victims. None of them have life sustaining injuries, according to the mayor, and about Now. That was about 20 minutes ago now that the mayor released his statement, and he said that the perpetrator was still.

Police chief: No reason to fire Wisconsin officer who killed teen

"The chief of police chief of Ah Milwaukee suburb. That scene protests and unrest since an officer was cleared of criminal wrongdoing in the fatal shooting of a black teenager says he sees no reason why the officer should be fired. Wauwatosa Police chief Barry Webber's that in a news conference Monday that he disagrees with an independent Investigators report that Officer Joseph MENSA should be fired because he has shot and killed three people in just five years on the force, and he's Too great of a risk to shoot somebody else. Just immense, has been cleared by the district attorney in three different cases. There's been no reason up to this point and none that I can see that he should be removed from the force. He's acted legally and lawfully. In all previous actions that I'm aware of. We saw what happened in Kenosha. We saw what happened in Portland and boodle in other places. It was our determination to make sure that none of those, uh things happens. Tosa. We arrested people that had Molotov cocktails in their backpacks, and we found a Molotov cocktail at the base of the city hall Sign. So that's just an example of what we were taking seriously. What actually came about the good news is we have no loss of life. Very few injuries at all. None serious and the property damage was minimal. Prosecutors last week cleared MENSA in February's fatal shooting of 17 year old Alvin Cole, the Cole family attorney, rejecting the position of Weber, the chief and said it shows that He should be fired, too.

And while that tells you how the weather is very nice, Dave, you're right. People don't have to go to work or school tomorrow morning. Unlike you know the past couple of nights. When people who are taking part of these riots still didn't have to get up and go to work or school. Let's go to Marie in Kenosha, you're on the Dan O'Donnell show. Hi. Thank you very much. Dan for taking my call. I think it was yesterday or the day before that you were already ah, playing audio of O R. Reading off anything she's been poked. The family had been posting on social media, and even then I thought You know what attitude like that? It's no wonder that Alvin Cole thought he had a right to disobey police and carry a gun and all that kind of stuff. Okay. I'm not sure I follow your point. Well, that's okay. That Yeah, the thie. Apple doesn't fall far from the tree correct. Yeah, that's that's That was also my immediate thought. And the reason I Made a deal. Lot of the conferring of status on the family member of someone who was killed by a police officer is that there is rather obviously a belief here that she is above the law that the police are Killers and that she can do anything or Say anything. I mean, she was. You can't see her resisting arrest. She was rather obviously a resisting arrest. You can hear what the officers are saying. You can hear what she is screaming. I mean, they're yelling. Give me your arm. Give me your arm. That pretty much means She's not complying with pretty much any orders Bill up next on the Dan O'Donnell show. Hi, Bill. Very good Morning, Dan. Wonderful topic as usual. By the way, I do. I wasn't even aware the protesting one with Joyce and having lived in well with Tosa, I I would have been interested to see all of it. But my question is, you know, we will remember the movie Mississippi burning and now fast forward to what you're talking about. Head that woman been white and carrying it M 16. She might have been waves. No, but she was perceived as a threat. She was made probably where she wasn't supposed to be. I'm not gonna Okay, Let's take your example a step further. If she was a white man. With an M 16. Viciously battling police officers who are attempting to talk to said, man, What do you think would have happened? Why will not you is it inserted viciously battling police now? I mean, assisting police. Okay, let's let's say OK, I'll take out concede that point. Let's say Resisting an officer. Let's say an officer, said Teo, a man a 17 year old. Let's say, because I'm assuming this is the example you're using a 17 year old from Illinois, whose name rhymes with Schmidt in house. Let's say that an officer said, Hey, you with the gun, and you do know that it's legal to carry a firearm here, both open and concealed. We do have that law and I believe every state in the United States now has some form of concealed carry Wisconsin second last, of course to pass it. Let's say the officer says, Hey, you with the M 16 get over here. Guy comes over. Instead of complying with what the officer says. He immediately starts. Trying to fight with the officer wrestle with the officer. Not obey the officer. Do you think he would have been wrestled to the ground or do you think you would have been shot? Well, you know what boils over this planet to answer your question. Honestly, it's how you make the request. I've had cops that I know it's It's absolutely not. Okay, let's wait a minute. Don't talk over me. Well, you're not. You're not talking sense. And I asked you a direct question. If he wrestled with police officers, let's say the office or even say you with the gun over here now, and a guy with a gun A white man with a gun. Didn't comply. Do you believe he would have been allowed to go on his merry way? Or would he have been tackled to the ground or shot? Then don't ask the obvious. We know they're OK. Good. That's all I wanted to know. You literally did just refute your entire point, though, that if this guy if this guy was behaving in the exact same way that Alvin Cole's mom, rather obviously wass, he would have been treated in the exact same way. Bill. You call all the time and you have a remarkable ability with longer I keep you talking to refute your own points. I like to say how good I am at debating Bill. "Charges will be filed against WalMart tells the police officer Joseph MENSA for the fatal shooting of Alvin Cole outside Mayfair Mall last February. Milwaukee County District Attorney John Chisum says men says use of deadly force was necessary and that he would not be able to disprove self defense calls Family attorney Kimberly Motley, speaking afterwards that they will continue to fight for a conviction, saying that the shooting was justified. "All right, in a move clearly. Timed and it seems to me it had to have been coordinated. Don't know that for sure, but had to have been coordinated again. At three o'clock this afternoon, The D. A's office is expected to announce to the family of Alban Cole, whether or not criminal charges will be issued against Joseph MENSA. Almost everybody believes there is not a basis to issue criminal charges Earlier today, the independent investigator is an attorney in town, former U S attorney of Steve Pascu pick and Steven. I know each other. We worked together in the U. S attorney's office for probably A 10 year. Steve started after me, but he went on to be the U. S attorney. I'd like Stephen personal level. I have the greatest respect for him. His law firm conducted at the request of the Wauwatosa Fire and Police Commission on investigation into Joseph MENSA. To determine whether or not he should be fired. All right now that report is out today without bearing the lead. The conclusion is of the investigation is that MENSA should be terminated. The investigation. The report. My understanding is does not accuse him of any wrongdoing in connection with the shooting death of Alvin Cole, the 17 year old. In addition, What it did was. It went on to look at shootings in other situations as well. He was involved. That would be MENSA in the fatal shooting of J. Anderson in 2016 and Antonio Gonzalez in 2015. MENSA shot Gonzalez eight times after he refused to drop a sword, according to police. In the case of Anderson. MENSA approached apart car where Anderson was sleeping. Saw. He had a gun inside. Thought Anderson was reaching for it. So he shot him six times. All right, so three shootings in the space of five years. Um, I believe But there's no wrongdoing and that they don't find that MENSA violated department rules or did not have a legitimate exercise of self defense. As far as his shooting. All right, So you might say Okay, well, why are we recommending that he be fired? Well, Here's the story. Biskupic that would be the investigator. The attorney wrote that MENSA should be fired because the risk of him shooting 1/4 person is too great. Given menses notoriety, people could bait him into shooting them, exposing the city to lawsuits costing millions of dollars. But stupid, said He noted that even one officer involved shooting in a city the size of Wauwatosa is unusual. Wauwatosa is home to about 48,000 people quote. If 1/4 shooting by officer MENSA were to take place, the public's confidence in the Wauwatosa Police department would be significantly eroded. Let me stop. Just offer you a thought on that before I moved to the other ground city suggested justified firing. What the investigator is saying, is that even though the police officer Was involved in three legitimate shootings. Free legitimate shootings. We should fire him because some outside force might try to induce him into 1/4 shooting. That strikes me as being a really interesting message to send to other cops. Even if you're right. You can still get fired because, well, I don't know. Maybe you will. By doing your job. You will perhaps make yourself a target. You will invite other attention. So we're going to fire you from your job because I don't know you might have made yourself the target even though you were legitimately defending yourself. That seems to me to be a questionable message to send to the police Department's But I do understand the basic premise. Yeah, it's true. If menses on the force trying to do his job is going to be extremely difficult because you know that there will be people who will be trying to bait him into reactions. Alright. The report then goes on to say that MENSA violated policies. Preventing officers from speaking about pending investigations when he gave a radio interview and spoke about the shooting on a podcast in July. He quote also provided misleading information during the interviews by failing to correct an interviewer who stated that Cole shot at MENSA. But Scoop IX report said Cole shot himself in the arm and claiming that more than half a dozen Wauwatosa police officers have been involved. In multiple shootings over the last five years, according to book Scoop IX. Report. The wallet Tosa police chief. That would be very, Weber said on Ly MENSA had fired his weapon more than once over the last five years. Scoop. It concluded that MENSA provided misleading information to the public in order to minimize the significance of his own conduct. So in other words, you have a police officer who was being demonized and vilified in the extreme. He goes and does a radio interview. And he fails to correct an interviewer who makes a statement and he incorrectly says other officers have been involved in shooting multiple shootings. And that's the basis for firing him. 85561616 20 that is the econ it mortgage talk and text line. Alright, my take on this. I understand the idea behind It's difficult for Officer MENSA to continue to do his job in Wauwatosa. Based on all the circumstances and the attention that's they're having said that I got to tell you. I think this is really, really, really thin rule to try to rely on firing a man. Saying, Well, gee, you might even though your behavior has been legitimate. You might be targeted in the future. So we don't want to take that risk. So we're going to fire you, huh? That sends a very in my mind Questionable message and then? Yeah, I mean, I understand if you violated department procedures by giving an interview, etcetera, my question would be. Do you have any evidence suggesting that other people who would do that given interview or make a public statement? It has some inconsistency in it that is that material enough to get you fired, Or are you looking to find an excuse to get rid of the guy? Which seems to me what has happened, and my prediction is, if they go ahead and fire him. There's going to be a big lawsuit that comes out of this. How it plays out who knows 85561616 20. That's the Econ it mortgage talking text line. It may very well be best for both Officer MENSA and the community of Wauwatosa. For him to move on, Given everything that's going on. But he's firing him the right thing to do 85561616 20. I think that is a stretch We discuss in a moment. Don't go anywhere. Jack.

He also says that MENSA made inconsistent and misleading public statements about the shootings. Endoscopic believes that could compromise his ability to testify in court.
