"Hello everyone 9 30 in the morning in Hong Kong I'm Steven engel And I'm doctor at the Bloomberg interactive broker studio in New York We have trading underway now in Hong Kong and the hang sang right out of the gate down about three tenths of 1% We'll take a closer look at what's driving some of the price action in markets momentarily right after we update you on a few of the sours tapas and stories Steve Well SoftBank is expected to report results that fall in the red later today Bloomberg's Pavel alpay of tells us why The main reason is because salt bank now has a very large portfolio of public shares that include things like Uber didi coupang DoorDash and pretty much across the board Those numbers are red who paying alone has dropped more than 33% in the best quarter Analysts in the Tokyo session down about a half of 1% Key chip makers in both Taiwan and South Korea appear to be complying with a request from the U.S. for more information sort of We have more from Bloomberg's Denise Pellegrini The commerce department has given major chip makers until today in Asia for information about inventory backlogs delivery time procurement practices what they're doing to increase output and about each company's top customers Taiwan's semiconductor says it has responded but without disclosing any customer specific information and South Korea's finance ministry says local tech firms will provide some semiconductor data to the U.S. Taiwan semi South Korea Samsung are the world's two largest contract chip makers They serve a wide range of companies including automakers and commerce secretary Gina raimondo had said the U.S. might invoke the defense production act to force the companies to comply Denise Pellegrini Bloomberg day break Asia China's imports of cold nearly doubled in October from a year ago the coal purchases last month reaching 27 million tons even then it was still 18% below the annual high recorded in September imports of natural gas also rose from last year's level the surge in energy purchases was to help ease a nationwide power crunch at home that's been ongoing for months Meantime we got a line from the official news agency Xinhua over the weekend saying that China's power supply is now back to normal All right here we are at 33 past the hour of time to get you caught up on some of the market action We're seeing in the opening moments in Hong Kong hang Tang is down now by about 9 tenths of 1% Healthcare and communication services leading this decline but if you look at the healthcare group it's down nearly 7% right now which then takes us to soul where the Cosby weaker by 1.2% and its healthcare also leading this decline pharmaceuticals in particular look at shares in green cross down 6% right now in the South Korean session The research firm wa investments and security saying that green cross may be posting softer than expected earnings for 2021 the firm is citing sluggish contract manufacturing for COVID-19 vaccines We do see a little bit of weakness in the Japanese currency against the dollar here at one 1360 that may be supplying a little bit of support for the equity market in Tokyo However the nikkei is down by about two tenths of 1% Consumer discretionary and healthcare leading this decline energy does remain positive as is the case in many markets in the apac region crude oil right now above $82 a barrel It seems as though the market is not concerned about the possibility that The White House would tap the strategic petroleum reserves here in the U.S. as a way of bringing down gasoline prices Brent crude right now at $84 a barrel We're seeing a move up in long-term interest rates after quite a session here in the U.S. on Friday where the ten year treasury yield was down below one and a half percent for the first time in a month actually we closed New York trading at one 45 In spite of the fact that we had that very strong employment report for the month of October it seems as though the market is really focused on central banks not accelerating short term rate increases even though there is this conversation tied to the data inflationary pressures building at both the retail and wholesale level Ten year treasury now in the Tokyo session is at 1.47% The dollar firm against the majors with the Bloomberg dollar spot index rising about a tenth of 1% the offshore Chinese currency a little weak not by much 6 bought 39 87 against the greenback We'll take another look at market action for you in about 15 minutes from now Steven All right thanks Doug Well China is now trying to help Iran in dealings with the United States issues with its nuclear program at Baxter has that story and more in global news Ed Yeah Steven is the two countries go back and forth China and the U.S..

"In israel and it makes a lasting impact one hundred percent jared and ran the reason why we ended up blowing up our entire team. Or if they're listening to this jaren we appreciate you. We literally three months ago as i was telling you before we started We are literally starting from scratch. Because we didn't have the right culture in. But i thought i did. We had we had core values we had an orientation video which i thought was amazing right because myself but like we still had people from the old regime and there were still with us that you know how much they paid. What am i pay right. Which is okay. But now we're moving more into an impact removing more to customer service move more to testimonials and they hired a recruiter hired recruited. That's ridiculous we don't have. We don't have enough money to pay. For all these people are going to recruit scarcity right not realizing that. Oh my god. This is an absolute funnel that has to happen in a real estate business because we were just a revolving door in and out with special. Because we didn't have that culture yes so restarting from scratch jaren with with recruiter With a new set of core values a new orientation and a new whole new on boarding and training schedule. So we're hoping that that works here. I was gonna work. It is going to work so all right so move for. I mean when did you because you've got all these. I'm looking at here on unleash. Homebuyers premier properties property management right. The things going on. When did all this Roll out roll out yet. So property management came right because of all the two thousand ten stuff with sec in me needing to have control issues and take charge. We need to take charge. So we had some rental holdings in pennsylvania. I couldn't by rentals because i was financial until twenty fifteen So i knew. I knew to build wealth. I had to buy rental. So i would do like four rehabs or fixing flips and the boston area and i would take some of that money and go buy rental pennsylvania where you could be all in on a single family house Fixed up for twenty five thousand dollars for six hundred dollars a month. Wow that's really suit with my first three out there thought it was five hundred thirty seven dollars and forty eight cents tax certificate. Thank you john. Tax lien system the infomercial but anyway that was where so i started managing out there for our portfolio and we slowly brought that to third parties messy hampshire but everything else. Short sale was also based on time. I got my broker's license right like two thousand. Ten two thousand eleven people needed us viable sorts negotiator. You and i have that in common right like we tried. Using an attorney's we try using other third parties and two big issues right lack of communication lack of fall through like the tubing's issues and we couldn't get around that they had no problems charging us every time i called. Yeah indeed right so then any other resets on the way or is there anything but smooth sailing after we covered. There's always more we like. There's there's quick ones right like the the one any relievers. Have this happen. The one we have that goes wrong. 'cause you went outside your rules that wipes out somehow wipes out twenty positive deals. You made the exception will make this one work. Yes yes the sex. Oh wow it's nine acres on a beach. I've always wanted to do a luxury beachfront mansion. Yeah let's do this and then you you lose everything. How did you did you. Did that. Deal in dallas right. It was two hundred of your own money in two hundred fifty investors. Yeah how that worked out with those other. Investors did you work anything out with them or worse rights. That was the worst one was number two or not family family. Take myself yeah. One of them was great. It's listen i knew the risks this one of them. I'm like you're better than me. Like what does it take for me to get there right. And but either way. I took into myself and i knew i had to make it right So over time. I put them on a monthly bad debt schedule right and started just allocating some funds and then once in a while. I do a pay up to them until they were made in full for that. So everyone's made whole everyone's been made hall except for me still working on it. Well just kidding doing okay. Unfortunately the way you borrow money is we're last paid back. That's it but i think that you know it's easy to say you knew the risk right too bad It's easy to say but as a matter of integrity matter being financeable again. If you don't pay people back like has a way of coming back. So i applaud you for for for paying them all back. Alright thank you. I should've been banker. Someone ever all the attorney said i should have been bankruptcy. The first time in two thousand five when had that four hundred and eighty thousand dollars in debt. He's i would've wiped it clean. I didn't do that. It was a. I finally ended up paying off in two thousand and eleven after those monthly debt. Schedules right you just have to kind of put it in clear. Better man than i. I would have paid the back pay. I would pay people back. Alpay every human being when i pay back a corporate entity bailed out by the united states government. That's true we pay for that anyway. Yeah came taxes anyway so sambi has wants to know what advice do you have for someone with analysis and here on the. Are you a maverick or close to it. What are you your high in your hobby. High in high be discontinued myers briggs. I don't know that one so much so you high idea. Hi yes i would say that. Yes you did. I suffer from analysis. Paralysis that's correct okay. But you're a coach. They emma coach. So what do you tell. People love it. The have analysis on my gosh. I love this question so as an analysis paralysis people. I'm assuming if you don't already you should have an excel sheet or by box set of criteria that you work with. If you don't have that you're looking at every single dealer comes in your house. Be like that looks like a one but i i don't know should we are. I don't know let's run the numbers eight times. You have to have a rule so if depending on who. I don't know what sam doing. He's doing fixing flip if you're doing multifamily right like if it makes x. amount in certain amount of time frame i'm going to say yes i'm gonna execute pull the trigger in my whole tagline right. You know steve. Shameless plug steve's on episode forty three of the shut up and do it real estate podcast right like we are whole tagline in the office. It's on all the walls is what i had to do. When i came back from the two thousand five issue i had to take my whole tangent again but this is important so pull the phone out of my drawer which to me. I still remember it like trauma. Like i remember pulling the phone backout months later after all the question calls i turned it on after was charged. I remembered expecting the ring like expecting the same vibration ring. Have the question calls came in and it didn't happen. So that's when i had i started treating my my phone instead of as an enemy became my toolkit needed it for wholesaling right ahead start using it again And in order to not lose money. I needed to have my own set of rules and so it became right if i if it the markets all shifted right. If i'm gonna make twelve percent. Or if i'm going to make twenty percent on my money on this rehab. We make the offer period doesn't matter aspirin. It doesn't matter it doesn't matter if it was on. The market is with the seller. We're doing twelve fifteen twenty percent depending on the market right like if you have a set by box if you have said execution button or a trigger. That's what you need to fight. Analysis paralysis makes hundred dollars a door. Put the offering fifty door. Put the offering or you put the offering to make it to two hundred adore right like many offers and shutting up and doing it shutting up and taking my phone out shutting up saying i have to make calls today. But i'm not gonna make my calls yet because i have to. I'm going to get my lucky pencil. Put it right here next to my notepad and i'm gonna take my other script to either the script out. Oh no i have the probate scripted at the fire damage. Scrim i get to bring the script out. And i remember. I can't say that this time. Because last time i said that i got screamed at at won't see this one. Shut up and do it. Yeah just shut up and make the call and that it's become all over now. It's it's how we fight our analysis process. It's better don't let perfect in the way of better reich or done.

"Doesn't necessarily league like bring us to a certain kind of Conclusion politically but it was. It was nice to see verse. That is very aware of what's happening. Not just in like a celebrity superstar status but what it feels like for the average person that is going through like the things we are now and that was really dope and and the way he like put. Those words together was amazing. Lake his use of metaphors and stuff like i. There weren't any like crazy double entendre or something but really suited him. Well like it showed him why. He's such a legendary status in the game I out almost a cheesy kind of feel from it did it. It flowed really nicely and again a lot of a lot of substance. And i exactly like His flow always reminded me of a ghost's face or meek mill like that very energetic high flow he had and the way he wrote his lyrics reminded me a lot of like prime jay z. About how like you know how jaycee always throws in this kind of like a pop culture and something like like some real shit into his lyrics you know not just like wordplay or talk about dealing coke but he actually talks about. The hottest kind of issues of the day was lyrics. Alpay is not that d. most of the time but he does it in a very witty way. And that's what did here. So if you're a fan of dynamic duo or if you just want to like really know what that cipher meant. I suggest you look up. The translations like pago is always there. Google translate is there too so at definitely like oh look at the lyrics for yourself like that's why people are so head over heels in korea biochemicals verse and granted like cocoa's be wasn't that amazing like he always did what he always did. It's a colquhoun's beast. you know. Yeah like it. Just feels like a cocoa speed. But it's it's far from his best b but for sure like that kind of subdued atmosphere. I think really highlighted what geico was doing on that track because if like the b was too extravagant or two layer like the message would probably not flown across for sure. You know like like especially with that kind of heavy east coast style of hard ass rhyming like most of the time. If you look at east coast records the great thing about it is the beat is not that what do you call it in your face. Unlike this other stuff and the west coast stuff like that kind of it gives the rapper. Like room to breathe. You know For show yeah. And i think in hip hop The balance between a beat and the rappers very important like exactly in the age of playboy cardi maybe the lot the artist kind of lost in a sense. But it's great to hear like a rapper really taking presence on a track and yeah for that to happen the producer kind of sometimes hash to kind of laid back a little. You know for sure a here. Yeah exactly. I think that was one of the big highlights but for me personally. I love the slow. Men's i on t. one again i. I really love the way. slome composes. His beats it's it's very subtle it's grounded but at the same time there is this mainstream field to his beats and.

"That 'cause play. They're not one they're not doing the look to the sound that they go for. Maybe they're going the next step beyond it right so once it closer who wants closer is a good example where turning point influence is bringing in a little more melody. People aren't doing the turning point seven inch they're doing the turning point alpay to look at the band's champion not a youth crew band but started in that space there were jane bound chain right and then grew betrayed not a youth group and sonically but had that carry that energy one of that and i think there's bans out there. I think the timing pressures of the world rejection packed. There's bans out. There dare straight edge bands. All these like fast straight edge hardcore band who aren't doing youth crew but doing variants of the stuff that followed that was down to nothing youth group in fucking know but they love all that stuff they have the energy and they were like y'all. Let's take that and just hype it up more locking out stuff. Mental wasn't a youth group bad but they loved all that stuff that would be primary influences same thing righteous jams like justice their early material. So you just look around and see that it isn't as prevalent was a thing for thirty years a long time and there and you don't even floated and you just don't hear people talk about it like they do. Patrick go in homey. Here's the unifying theory. People aren't talking about youth crew because they're not talking about genres. I think that genres are because that my first thought was exactly you just okay. We'll get there my my first thought when tom like. I had the same thought. Tom did win win. The we talk about this exercise for this episode of the podcast. I thought okay. I'll start big genres. What genres people talking about. And i thought of every single genre. And i was like. Oh that's because people aren't talking about genres rate now like like even okay metal core. I don't hear people talking about metaphors. Metal corey more. What about power violence. Okay hold on one. That's gotten elbow ryan core. No i will say this. I think patrick you need to amend it because you've got your own to something but what people are talking about. Genres are being minimized. They're not as device into the extremes. I think that you're seeing extremes as being like. Oh that's more that's medical or things are in the direction of but a lot of things are in the quagmire. There's things that fall in the ten percents over here. Ten percent over there and in the quagmire there's a lot of grey but you hear less conversation of genre stuff. I still think. I still think there's honor congo. Let me give you an example of how. I think this would have been different at a different time denver. Lot of music out of denver right now right tones. Who and who's working out there. Convulses out there out to youth attack. Who did a bunch of stuff. I think still is doing some stuff from there. That's right. Here's what i see is different if this was the what. What air was that. The early twenty tens.

"God for example it creates cancer again. It's another piece on judging. Yod has the right to judge and thank god for that. I think if everybody is honest they want judgment day at the end of time and all like pollyanna tremendously flower boys and girls right now. Oh my gosh. It's terrible to say that. But i think you think about abuse you think about terrorism. If you think about any of the major atrocities and how people have been ripped off in this life you want some type of justice. You don't just want the world to me like well. I gotta get a fair shake here as my white six to mail in this wealthy suburban area. Why was okay. I don't really need a judgment day. I wasn't like you know the slaves couple hundred years ago. So gosh answer again. We we have a number of questions to get through so have maybe keep them a little bit more short this well. Thanks for your super sticker from both rich devon as well as anti bigfoot biased. Thanks so much for. We got this poofy. Thanks for your question. Said why wouldn't stewart substantiate his personal claims with a real example of his own disagreements with god either mentioned the claim and substantiate or don't mention the claim substantiate with some point. I mean maybe just one even my disagreement you back on you saying you disagreed with god you then just talked about how god doesn't want you to do things that are part of your instinct. But you never gave an actual disagreement. You had with god where you think something's right in god did is wrong or that. God did something right. That you think is wrong. You never clearly stated that you actually had a disagreement with god yet. You made the claim that you did. So they're saying either. Don't make the claim substantiate your blood so if you were going i missed that then so i'm glad we're here now the closest i've ever come to disagreeing with god's actually some of the judgment in the old testament some of the times that god judges in the old testament you know the canaanites sorta like whoa. That's a little. That's a little strong there right but you believe that he has a reason to make it good so you don't disagree not to make it good hold on now. You're going back not to make it good. I mean it depends what you mean by that but that sounds a little slippery there. Cer- smalley. I think i think it standards. It's a level of yes. If god's again the ultimate use doors brad things you think. God does bad things. Is this a question for david or stewart. Do you think god does bad things. Why need to go into chat and pay five dollars. No i do not see john. I'll open a new browser. Alpay james five dollars and you answer. The question. Do bad things i said. No no he does not okay so so then if he did something. It's good even if you disagree with it. Yes i would say a fickle. You think that you would be a good god. I would not be a good gun. I can promise you hang around me for david. I'm i believe mothering than i do there. You got this next question for matthew steals stewart. How do you justify altruism and integrity as in a morally correct thing for its own sake when you believe someone is always watching you so roy again back to freud or others we say we always have a watchdog that's going to push us to the superego in order to do good things and there's gonna be some type of coercion manipulation right so for us. It could be if there's no god even if there is a guy that actually gossip slander. The police is going to be different things that are going to deter us from doing that. At least i hope so when you take dot okay god. It's a little bit bigger because now you're talking eternal ramifications and you're talking about there is always a one correlation with good and evil punishment and reward and so if the question again back to what you said human rights right integrity and altruism about the two though. How do we justify them. If there's a god that's watching you in other words saying doesn't it undermine all i see. Hey there can be altruism or integrity. Because you're doing it for god and set right exactly or and i would say i would say that's not i mean that that can be Just like martin. Luther was pegged for all of his writings. Were simply because of spear god's thumb and have eternal life. I think they're always can be different forms of motives but at the same time. No if we grant god got all goodness and love who sent his son to die on the cross for since the reason why human rights and the reason why equal rights for women spread from the christian movement. Read the book by the academic Things rampton shame. In sin or tom holland's new bestseller. Look at where women's rights came from. Just just check it out. Check out the roman empire and so the the purpose for human rights was jesus christ dying on the cross for us the motive there is humility not just fear of god to do this humility and then to see everybody on the same plane and worthy of protection in love and then to go out even sacrifice yourself for florida. Gotcha and this one coming in from atom albania after these james so hot that any attempt to stop global warming is nothing but a lost cause so much the checks in the mail this so in coming in from av newman says after show at my channel which i put in the description if you wanna check that out and that link is right below our guest links folks if you've been listening you're like I like this. "It's got custom spoke. Rims that go ahead and zoom in on those buddy scott a dirty birds two to one fucking short exhaust which is loud as fuck by the way does sound really really good Normally started next door. Be happy about that What else does have scott an upgraded rear rear suspension. Got the mirrors. And it's i think the mayor's came with it but They don't know that. We're selling scott that indian logo glued out on Now the fairing is minimized It's it's different than me. I don't even know why they call it a fairing that the fucking housing. The the headlight is in is is also aftermarket as well. But so there's there's there's a few thousand dollars worth of upgrades into it but is a very fun back. Yeah i remember picking it up writing it out to your old studio and the rain so anyway this motherfucker back. Yeah i mean and the stuff you working as fucking amazing well and again like i was riding it every day. It wouldn't even be a question but with the other bike stuff that's coming in. I don't know when i would ever ride it. You know and again me. It's kind of a waste to have a bike like that. That's not getting ridden so make sense people. Talk a lot about They mentioned credit. The stuff we do in and out buying stuff. Py she must have good credit. I don't mind does Is credit super important. And how do you get there. yeah. So here's what i would say that Is it is it better to have good credit than not yes. Is it necessary no You know i have mixed feelings on it and it. It's a representative of the institution of central banking. Which i think is is overall good. I mean it's good and bad. There's certainly some good things in that. It allows you to do things that you wouldn't be able to do otherwise. That's the reality. Some people would call it irresponsible or deficit spending. And there's a fine line but i think ultimately It's it's good to have good credit in the event that you wanna use that to borrow money for for certain things at good rates and And you can use it to your advantage Having said that. Like i said it's not necessary to have good credit. Still do those things. It's just more difficult to do. Those things How you build it. isn't really super Complicated either you know by by things on credit and pay them off on time or early and and and be good about Thing that i do which. I would strongly recommend to really everybody out there. Whether you're trying to build credit or not misses a ba- a byproduct of it but is it really any of your monthly expenses that you have whether it's car payments Electricity fucking you know. Utilities whatever Even even house Mortgages anything that you can put on a credit card. Put it on the credit card. Now pay it off that month You know but but have that revolving credit you're constantly using it and In paying it off. That does two things one is that it helps build your credit. Because it establishes a positive history of of doing the right thing of borrowing money paying it back on time And in full credit card companies are looking at. If you're late on payments or you're not paying it back we'll fuck no. I'm not gonna lend you money if you have a history of fucking people over that lend you the money you know that that makes sense banks do the same thing but if you put it on a credit card that gives you miles or points or both cashback or whatever You know why not take make that Or take take advantage of that because of the that again. It's killing two birds with one stone. You get your credit built up Which is going to continue to increase your limits as well as give you an ability to to borrow money to do things that you want to do. But it's also giving your free airline tickets or cashback or Reward points for vacations or whatever so That's money that you're having to spend anyway. So why not fucking use. Use that to your advantage by doing both of those things in the process. Most people you know have bank drafts. You know that debit acs ach payments or whatever from From your bank account to pay certain bills whereas if you do that little bit of extra leg work and put it all on credit cards and pay him off then you get all that other other stuff too and so. That's an easy way to do it where you're not really having to do anything different than what you're already doing in terms of the money that you're spending it's just you're adding one step into that process that you do that for a few years and you'll see your credit go up significantly I do that with with business. Also my business expenses are are of course Astronomically higher than than my personal expenses. But i do that for both personal and business so that it It accomplishes the same thing so That's how that's how i do it and And how i've gotten my credit up into Where it's at now which is Which is excellent. But how i've got mine shitty. Alpay shit i'm just getting Credits a serious topic and business especially new business. So in.

Unless there is a guy that you meet that person one day That thing or whatever it ain't nobody can figure out the meaning of life so you just have to think about was going on in the world today and what kind of person you want to be before you leave this planet. I think that one of the that people should think about and stop worrying about will enjoy life so much better first of all you stop worrying about what's the meaning of life. Yeah you know how about this. How about simplifying in. No one is perfect. I'm not by any means. I'm not thinking. I'm better than anyone. But i'm trying to think this way. And i slip up sometimes. But i'm trying to think you know instead of worrying about any kind of meanings our competitiveness in life. How about trying to lead the world a better place in what you left it. How about trying to make other people. Happy people are so selfish with their lives. They think it's all about mean gonna take everything. Take shit with you when you're dead. You ain't gonna take a goddamn thing. Well even the people who are like. Well i wanna leave. This is my legacy now. You won't be here for it. So was it even matters locking understand legs passionate down to children if you pass it down because i think legacy is important because a legacies it there are people who say for example black people black people still trying to come up. You know beat. It'd be nice. If i don't know if i had the ideal if i had the ideal position to leave this planet would be that i've made i make people happier if i could made poor people just a little bit richer. I the malaysia up. I gave people who have as much life in life. Maybe i left something for them that they can build up on lead that but people behind them leave the world a better place. You can't take it with you but what you can do is leave behind the join a lot of and the ability to make the world better. Hopefully you know. That's that's that to me is. What makes sense yeah. I think it's all about being present in this moment because like the passes is real. The future is not real. It's all about this moment and are really important. Tool that i've been trying to exercise is listening to my thoughts and just listening to your thoughts alone is super hard and i challenge people to do that and also like trying to manipulate them. Once you understand that you can listen to them and you're paying attention to the the memory and the imagination that you have which are two incredible tools and you're constantly thinking about memory or imagination. You can manipulate it and replace every negative thought with a positive thoughts and that can be very powerful with what you attract and what you don't attract and so that's really what i've been. Only as far as a cosmic daniel thing is like focusing on listening to my thoughts and trying to replace negative ones with positive ones and being present in the moment instead of anxious or depressed. Something as much. Make fun of you. Nothing you go to fucking wild sometimes but one of the things i like about you is that you do try to live your life because life is life is very short and we can find a balancing giving to others while also trying to take care of ourselves and have you know make a realized that the important thing is life is to the important thing in life is to enjoy it but not on a selfish level nine. Enjoy to what you wanna rub in on other people take away from other people. Try to have balance where you enjoy your life and you've always enjoyed your life but be smart and also be responsible and try to help other people to while you're here is just starting to realize eh and another thing i've been learning. Is that like you're not separate from anything or anybody. Like i sound stupid. But it's true like we really are like all one like no one separate from it's a reflection and so you have to treat people like that like you would love yourself and love people too so yeah no. That is true all right. Then look at that. Cosmic danielle little depressing new with the daniel man. What happened what happened to the. I just never loved anybody so much like my my nieces and nephews like i don't have kids and of course i left my sisters and my parents but it's like i just love it mcdaniels supposed to lift spirits. I know but there's also a flips that like nothing can exist lots opposites like you have this these joyous moments and then there's also this like internal monologue in my head. I'm constantly worried. What we're both doing this on god and nobody can. No no one can resist this. I'm going to give you a pixie hug. No one can look at look at pixie. Rain makes no one can resist this now by. They said to give you a hug to. I'm thankful for this moment. Alpay it's worth it my life and she lays right back down like my job here is done.

"I understand that they're gonna make it the way it's meant that should apply for all drinks. Yeah right cool. I'm glad we all agree Another storyline basketball related. Another important story to come out of the winning. The finals is this plane. Ride that devon booker immediately after losing the nba finals first of all. There was a clip of devon booker looking off into middle distance as the celebration was happening of him. Just looking off and going damn and it. It hit with me when i saw him do that. Man that's got us. And i bet does and to compound upon that suck. Devon booker is playing in the olympics as our chris middleton and holiday who were. I don't know if you know this on the winning team. And so they had to fly to tokyo together. I think they're lieven tomorrow. Yep friday via private plane so it's not even like you. Can you know you can't even lose yourself in the other people like i don't talk i'm going in the back. Leave me alone. I would be like. Oh i know the environment. And i respect it and we all got to cut back but who do i have to talk to to get a flight of my alpay for it. Let me get my own flight please. How long's the flight to tokyo. To god to be a long flight between the game and the flight is good. That is he needed that at least three days if you had to immediately the next day that's just i can't even imagine how awkward it would be to be sitting on a plane with two of the people you just played against. Who won what you wanted. I just wonder if you're milton. Jrue holiday do you just dunk on him relentlessly or do you got to believe they would be somewhat respectful to not be coming. They're about to be teammates right. So at the beginning of journey thirteen hours depending on where they're not like fifteen. So that's that's that's the meal on frequent flight and think about this break bread twice. The victory parade is today for the bucks. So chris middleton. Andrew holiday are gonna be smelling like alcohol just like hung over from secondary thought then devon booker. You just gotta hope. Maybe they're too hung over to be any sort of lively on this flight so everybody sleeps the whole time and that way he doesn't have to deal with them celebrating or recounting. Or you know being happy while you said. I just thought of side story. That i don't think has been mentioned in if it has undergone say. It has taken taking credit for this house. Can we get rude. Travis for can we give a little credit to jrue holiday. This is the guy that stepped away from the game to be there with his wife. Lauren holiday when she was going through medical issues then comes back and gets the chant like he got everything he did. The right thing and then like celebrate him for doing travis. I love that. Give joy holidays. Flowers speaking of the bucks parade. It seemed like the bus driver was in a rush. We're like yeah you know what sometimes and yes. This is coming from somebody who's been to a lot of victory parades and i'm sorry. I apologize but they could move a little faster. Sometimes they go a little slow. I understand everybody wants take picture. It's cool it's fun but i'm not against just trying to defend this bus driver. Who took the corner like we were in speed it was he didn't want they didn't want a slowdown in any four. But on the turn. Yeah it was quick. The people reacted afterwards. It looked like the fans were like. Was that them. Did they go. Was that time for fifty years for that. I mean whoo. But i assume they slowed down once they hit the root. This was as they were coming out of the building. If you haven't seen the clip go look it up. It's the at least that was quick. Parades are alright. Victory are far and away. The best parades of parades like give me a victory parade over a all. Parades kinda i dunno. So victories are just about like seeing it saying you did it. In having a reason to put bailey's in your dunkin donuts yeah. If i'm sufficiently drunk. I will sit through a parade other. We'll stand. there's no city thank you during kovin. That's why a victory i think is kind of overrated because you're gonna to celebrate your team's victory but you're in a mass crowd. You can't sit. You probably can't even make it to the restroom. You're you're hammered. Oh there's no way or making it. It'd be like mizzou guys. We're going to get torn apart on the like. I'd rather go to fourth of july. You know or something like that prey reich and sit down on a chair. Adam candies getting tossed out like you can still are of those though. You don't know who's going by. You're not like look at the local dance center performing a number doodle. Dandy you don't actually it's fake. It's fake entertainment that you're like. Oh that's cool but this is like oh i can see a person but then again they don't really do much unless you happen to a spot where like one of them throws the trophy the other one you kind of like if they're all chugging beers at once and you're like yeah like that's a little different but also anything better than a parade is there. Do we have any suggestions. I will say having an amphibious vehicle. I appreciate the duck boats. Jan jaanus was holding a basketball imitating him. Being slow on his free throws and then he did shoot the boss. Like if you're that person that got that ball at this prayed suggesting ever but for the most part you're just staying in their hammered going like a new year's eve like in times square. I was just gonna say that it's exactly what it is. It's just a lot of standing around and then five for five minutes you like and then you're standing around when i was younger and we used to go watch the boston pops fireworks but we never went to the actual concert whenever went to the where you had to go early and whatever my mom and i used to be like why you don't we ever get closer. My mom was like those people have been there all day and they're wearing diapers and that was enough to make me go. Oh yeah. I'm not doing that. I don't know if it's true but it was enough to scare little katie into being like. Yeah we can see the fireworks. It's the same sky..

Remember that oh yeah show people run and they take their arms out that run down the aisles. Just knock all the fruit loops and count chocula. They could right into the basket. You were trying to get as much money as you could spend or whatever. It was supermarkets sweepstakes or showcase or whatever it was like all those of you around our own age or older. You're remember that is a game. Show that aired on television where you would run through the supermarket and knock as many things off into your buggy as you could smoke salmon. Clay you gotta go for the locks. Yeah it is. It's kind of a funny question. I know they do modern day versions of this in youtube because my kids watch youtube all day where they're like youtubers will draw a circle like a walmart and say hey anything that you can fit in this circle alpay four and you get fifteen minutes to get as much stuff as you can. It's pretty addictive video to watch kids. Watch youtube all the time. So i've seen the modern day version of this. But that's kind of the world that were in where there are now basically every day viral videos of targeted without fear shoplifting. Incidents and we opened up phone lines. Because i wanted to hear from people who are experiencing this and chris and elway says he's a cop and he's got us a bunch of stories about this chris. "All right now are yours. Coming along So where now. In the month of march. And i feel like i've made a new goal for myself for march which is centered around Content an released supporting M posting more content I would definitely made this goal for myself before in regards to the podcast and I don't really know if i've been better at it but one thing that I also wanna do is support other people's businesses and and Situations with steph definitely. Will you know if i see someone. I'm not. I'm not someone. That's active on social media. Which i've talked about before and I'm just generally an observer like to scroll see what's going on maybe hit a double tap or like or whatever and I've just been seeing a lot of stuff where it says you know hitting that light. Button really isn't much in the engagement department in the best way to show support for for think so I'm like okay at the very least even if i see something while i'm double tapping it. I can also re post it or share it in the other people. See the things that i say that i like or so that i care about so for the month of march. I'm trying to definitely Share more things for to show support for the people that i want to support and For this podcast specifically to really try and learn had a post things more in Sarah not just on the pike cast piece but on my personal page. So that's my goal for the month of march and then of course i have school staff and that's been crazy This past weekend pretty much just back to back exams and Projects and stuff like that and not necessarily coming down to like a slower point Still a lot. That i need to get done and i want to to try and stay on track with things. So the nfl. Like those a lot of talking but that's how i'm doing with my goals space What's on your docket for this spes shore. So i usually have very interesting conversations with this one friend of mine and thankfully we ended up on phone today and we ended up having an interesting conversation so would he was expressing to me was that he was starting to date around again he was he was trying to be polite about it in saying he was dating a different kind of woman and sounds like deeming like a higher caliber woman. Like what do you mean. he's not bad. Just women who are trying to. Jane pockets is so already. My interest peaked in. I was like okay please. Elaborate is so he was expressing. That whenever it's like let's go out or there's a true plan that he's always paying for everything paying for day paying for tickets paying for adding special events also stuff but lately as of late he's been dating women who are like. Oh no alpay for dinner on no. I'll pay for this pay for that. So he's been Pleasantly surprised in that made me surprise. I'm like are you saying that all the women you've dated previously. None of them have pay for anything in he. Jane lee said yes. That's correct. I always paper everything. Whether it's girlfriends or someone i'm dating or anything and i was like well. That sounds like you allowed yourself taking advantage of so. That's a conversation about going dungeon. what expectations are just. you know. Being clear front is the he also expressed. He's like i want to date women and you know they come expecting that you know they have to pay for something you know. I will take care of me. Like i've been to jerry but is nice. You know in surprising when like oh no alpay for dinner. Oh no out for this ticket and he was like it's just going off so Too long didn't listen. I'm wondering if this is as uncommon as he thinks it is because in my mind going. Dutch is common going half or taking turns comment and not you know putting that burden solely on someone be based on their genetic buildup or identification Is not uncommon. So i guess. I just wanted to get some feedback on that While i haven't been the person who is always getting treated on dates. I'm not surprised to hear that. He has always paid for dates Some people kind of set that standard Whether the guys or the men are the Masculine figure like wants to always pay or The women are feminine figures. Like no i expect to be treated Some people just kind of hold that standard in and live by that. I feel like in starting my dating experience even in high school It was the my money but my prom date. My parents you know. Pay for he didn't pay for for us to go out to eat and stuff like my parents in theory gave me the money and i gave him the money and i always took that from not like he was a deadbeat or whatever but i was in high school and he was a college student so in theory. Neither of us really have money in so it was understandable to be like whatever source. We tend to get our money from being our parents or if he had like a part time job to just kind of be understanding inflexible with that. But some people don't grow up with or whether it's like a learned behavior or just like a trait they pick up themselves. Some people don't don't have that thought process so.

Interview With Caroline Gorski Of Rolls Royce

"Caroline I think we're gonna be diving into the topic of logistics today. And i think what people think about applying ai. Logistics are often thinking about tracking where trucks are tracking our inventory levels. But for you folks who've worked on some ai. Applications leveraging nlp for logistics and supply chain purposes obviously rolls royce of massive industrial organization. You have a lot of supply chain needs. Can you go a little bit into what the problem was. What you guys have kinda built to help your cause. They're sure dan absolutely so. Yeah i mean just a little bit of context rolls royce overseas a hundred year old company and as a result we are also company that manufactures highly complex and very high value physical things and as a result. We have a very complicated supply chain structure. We also have certain parts of our supply chain where there are very few companies around the world who can actually make what we need from all supply chain so they're all points in our supply chain weather arrow some quite quite high levels of risk in terms of sourcing strategy. Because we don't have an infinite number of supplies you cannot and on top of that we have or certainly did have a real challenge with the presence of what can really only be described described as incredibly dumb unstructured data across our supply chain so information held in pediatrics information on contracting terms on supply standards or capabilities or even designs on top of that an awful lot of our supply. Chain information is either engineering drawings or it's mathematical notation tabulated information and those are three categories off of data which is very hard for existing kind of simplistic optical character recognition tools to actually extract reliably. So over the last couple of years we've been working to develop a natural language processing computer vision capability that she allows us to extract intelligence from all of those kind of dumb unstructured data sources. So that we can use not intelligence to be much more adaptive much more flexible much more responsive in managing risk across supply chain and clearly given the challenges that we faced in some of our markets globalization being one of them over the last twelve months with the covid nineteen pandemic having that increased capability for managing supply chain risk flexibly being able to understand using machine intelligence to actually understand induce scenario modeling across ask supply chain that has helped to support our business in making very significant financial savings in terms of its response to the pandemic but also broadly in terms of ensuring businesses fit for purpose as we become out to the pandemic in terms of managing complex supply. Chain starches for the future hansard. There's so many ways that this can come into place we we've done a lot of One of the sectors where we do our ai. Opportunity landscape research. Every year is chain. Logistics looking at everything in terms of matching loads two vehicles for for transportation to inventory prediction an and arrival times and whatnot. Nlp in this space is interesting is novel and i can imagine so many ways that it might be leveraged can imagine you reading news and information about your various suppliers. Maybe it's the weather in the area. Maybe it's something about them. Having a bad quarter whatever the case may be and i can see that maybe being factored into what production volumes you think they may be able to do or what arrival times you might be able to expect or i could even say a system that just puts the most important news in front of a human analyst who can put it in broader context. Because of course there's so much context for that dumb data to actually speak to business needs on how specifically is nlp sort of working here. And what's maybe an example of where this is starting to be able to inform our processes inform our prediction. Or whatever it's doing yeah. I you're absolutely spots on that donna. Interestingly some of these cases or those areas that you've just mentioned there are exactly where we want to take capability next cohort of the work that we've been doing for rolls royce as a global entity in the first phase of development of this capability. We have been working with those tricky types of data that exists in manufacturing and engineering supply chain unstructured data sets. So those would let me give you an example much of what we communicate while supplies is communicated through drawings engineering drawings. So these these two d drawings which then need to be rendered into three day geometry's in order to be able to understand way to no debate able to understand how much waste material might be generated from from making components. Nfl which the supplier that component of will reimburse us for of course because they charge us for the bulk weight of the material and then the machine material they reinvest because they resell out secondary market so for us to understand for example you know how much is something away how much we're gonna cost to ship and transport How much rebate should we be guessing from from the waste material. That's been resolved by the supplier on. We need to be able to render a to d draw ring into its three d geometry now most of the during dumped exist in cat they only exist to droids so using a combination of competition and alpay. The nlp helps to extract the numerical information. That geometrical information is written around the drawing and the computer vision helps to manage the actual rendering of the drawing itself. You can actually turn your community station into three d rendering virtually and that of and allows you to couch might understand always questions about white about pricings about costing about justice about waste material might be generated for manufacturing

"Customer. You're paying that thirty percent on that on an app that you're downloading or you're paying for and i think that i think there was If you wanted to do something. Back in. October or november There was a disclaimer. That some company. I forgot the name of the company they were basically saying. Hey apple is charging you this thirty percent. So we're gonna pass the cost onto you and the people. Oh apple was not too keen on them. Exploiting you know their business practices so now currently north dakota bill as come it did not pass and now you still. They won one battle in north dakota. And that's how they do. Business north dakota with apple but you still gotta deal with arizona. Gotta deal with georgia and then if they win. I'm pretty sure it's gonna be It's gonna go to the supreme court. I'm pretty sure it will get appealed and and one of those scenarios that you mentioned was with a game fortnight right so fry had an integrated a payment system and they were like look. I'm not being apple. Thirty percent of my revenue. I made the game. I put it on the apple store I should get the benefits of that alpay. You alot toasters fee and this is the important. I cut me a sam but they try to subvert the apple payment system and next thing you know apple pulled him off the app store. That's worth some of this originated and it was such a huge story because four. Obviously such a huge in popular game but I i don't know if this has many legs. I gonna make a little bit noise but again i don't know if it has legs because again it would be so difficult to unwind and and peel back the onion in terms of how they hold apple. Legal system is built. How it's all made now. I think it would be easier on the on the android platform right just because again you can you can easily slide load apps right. You can easily have multiple other payment types of platforms and things like that. So i think it's going to be an easier discussion to allow something like this on the android side as opposed on the iowa side. But it's an interesting story to to see and again look everyone got. They're doing things and people are paying for. Get get money get you. I look i agree with the whole whole thing from that thing is i think it's hard because like you said if you build something and then you're like hey i want to get it out onto as many platforms as i possibly can to get you know. A a huge audience got to play by their rules. Yeah but you know but unfortunately it's like hey you're taking thirty percent of my cut. You know almost like the record business you know like you signed signed that deal is better to go independent. You know. But i get it. Apple and google playstore trusted places. But i mean there's people who say hey we're not on as other apps that are created harder for them to be trusted where you get into that billions and billions of users of downloads. Or you can get one hundred percent of that cut. If you go through google if you go through apple you gotta pay their. You gotta pay to play different. If you signed up. I it's like no different..

thirty percent Thirty percent Apple november android apple October one hundred percent iowa app store play one store one battle north dakota billions and georgia playstore four billions of users

"To be that way. And there was no reason for him to hit me. Just because i had difference of opinion because i believe differently. And you know. That's that. I wasn't willing to go along with the fact that he was in a different relationship. Here with somebody else that i just wanted to be independent of. I don't mind if you have a relationship with somebody else as long as you know. I'm not forced to have a relationship with you if i don't want so. I made that decision. That this is not sustainable. Because tried to talk we had discussions. And when i tried to express i got beat up and when i just felt like you know my waist doesn't count then i had to take action and whatever opportunity i could find. It was five days later. I just decided that. I am capable. I can take care of myself. I will find way my my way back and that was the original plan. I was just going to leave. I just knew chicago is the nearest city. And i had a friend from ed school. Who is doing residency. I figured i'll get there and then i'll just Fly back to india borrow money. I'll fly back to india. I'm a physician in india. I can work my way alpay again. And that's that as far as you're saying that this is not supported it's would absolutely not be supported by my family's i had a plan to just go somewhere that they didn't even know where i was just so that they didn't have to. You know first of all that the they would not accept it and who knows what that would have resulted in two and also it's not looked upon very kindly culturally to for you to have a daughter who's divorced and of course despite all the education and their theoretical believes they ultimately didn't believe that to some extent of woman needs to compromise and the woman was their their sister here and so but this sister was not ready to compromise. So i was. That was my plan. I was gonna leave is gonna make a life of my own. But because i couldn't find my passport i couldn't leave the country and here i am twenty five years later. Well that is just a remarkable story of courage and and really. I can't thank you enough for sharing it because if there is somebody listening to this and i know there will be. I truly hope that you find the strength and courage to think about leaving a violent situation. And i recognize situation different. I will have links and the podcast notes. Various organizations around the wall that are committed to helping survivors of domestic violence and both in the united states and amongst our diaspora. So thank.

"Nature. If you're talking about your favorite sports team you're a yankees fan and they're dodgers fan. What are you trying to do. You're trying to convince them to see your point of view. And that's what communication is so using the techniques which will go over and over the course of the weeks using the techniques. The techniques aren't manipulative. It's why you're using them that makes manipulative or not or yes. So is it. They hand you a scalpel with a scalpel. If your murderer you can kill someone. if you're a surgeon you can save someone. It's the same tool. It's the intent of what you're using it for and my thing is my intent with these are to make sure people do what's in their best interest never within my best interests because that's not my thing and as we as we get more into this jackson realize like oh wait. That makes more sense because this isn't you manipulate yourself. Don't manipulate other people manipulate yourself manipulate other people. So in essence. Nlp is how to use the minds own language to consistently achieve the desired outcome. Nlp is an overlaying of anything you do. Nlp can be on it to make you more successful at than that's really what it is. It's not like this this. this is that way. It has taken the model taking the attitude taking the beliefs taking techniques. It doesn't matter if your therapist. I've taught nlp the therapists. It doesn't matter if you're dentist told him to dentists and it doesn't matter if you're a salesperson it's taking the model and putting it onto what you do now so that's really the core of nlp so the attitude methodology and techniques. The attitude is more important than a methodology. The methodology is more important than than than the techniques. if you don't have the attitude methodology the techniques. Don't don't do anything at all. They they really don't so this house. Nlp work with personality types. Nlp has nothing to do with personality. Types zero nothing to do with this In advance at alpay called meta programming. There is some of the myers briggs personality profiling but we're not concerned in nlp. What the person's personality is a profile is on more concerned with how you think what you think and how you make decisions this thing about how much easier life would be if you understood a person especially in sales. If you understood the person's decision making process on how they decide to say yes to you or how they decide to say yes to anything. If you actually understood the process they go through and then explain what you do in the same exact process.
