"The fact that the Mets, obviously need more help in the bullpen, but, you know, a lot of people calling for this to be traded for some training. I'm going to watch him play. Exactly. And I agree with you on that. And I think that having guys like Smith and Davis provide this roster debt that is super important to building teams in the past when guys went down in the message of us guys. Eric Campbell and you know, other guys who are not majorly players, but keep it around these guys even as pinch hitters and other position players. It's completely useless. I don't think they should train them for bullpen help necessarily. You see, I wanna find out with Don. I don't know what Dom Smith is yet. And I think the Mets should find out what dumb Smith. What is his ability level? We, we don't know. He he can't get a chance to play first base completely. We know that the as four o'clock WFAN in New York at four o'clock, we'll have an update on the weather for the Yankee soon. We'll have Cashman at four thirty. We'll keep you abreast of the keep here. We'll get the first word on whether or not they'll play tonight on whether they'll open the gates up right now. They're expecting open the gates up at five but we'll know a little more in the next couple of minutes. Dominic Smith was the first round pick. He had a rough start to his career. He did not look good. He had sleep apnea problem. He added that. So the bottom line is he has tried to come up with a position where he could help them. The guy's hitting three sixty and has an opioid over thousand and seventy five at bats. He has showed power. He has showed an ability to get on base. He has showed an ability to, to walk. He's got an on base percentage over over over four thirty. He has shown you a lot of good offensive traits. We know he's a first baseman by trade. Can he play the outfield enough to be a useful offensive player? You don't wanna give Dom Smith away and have them go somewhere else, and turn into a twenty five hundred three hundred hitter and say, oh, my God. Can you believe the Mets gave away and he turned into the next really good often? He might be that player. I don't know if he is. He isn't. But I like to watch him play. I and find out the guys at a handful of major league fats. He's had three and a major league to pats. He has had sporadic duty at best and he still is hit eighteen home runs in his career. I wanna see him play for a while. And see if he's everyday player and see if he can hit left handed pitching and can he be in every day? I'll feel the give them a chance to play. Problem is he's sitting behind the budding star. Alonzo, who has fielded is position way, better. Anybody could hope and is on his way to a forty home run season. We understand that. No one's trying to take his position. But Dominic with this twenty three years old. You know, the Mets always talk about giving away the gave away, turn gave way Murphy gateway gateway to how find out with this guy is before you give them away for some relief pitcher. He might be the next guy thirty one hundred three hundred and you said, what do we do here? So find out for yourself. I exhausted. Let them play from month. And see what he does. He's not you. Got to now, feel killing anybody, except you gotta play Conforto lagaras can't hit. Gomez doesn't have to play. No one else outfield has to place a give him a chance to play every day. Let's see what he is. John jersey. What's up, John? Hey, I like talking about the next one the problem with the Mets. I think they over hype the players and they get disappointed player. We're talking about. We're talking about name all it was better than Ford. All heard that once I never heard. To key Hernandez. I never heard him say Nimmo was better than Conforto. One time ever. Kid. You don't think he's he said Conforto Quinta batting title. I never heard him say Nimmo. Good. I think you got mixed up, but that's okay. I never heard him say has been a Conforto now which guy talking about Dominic Smith. Now I'm talking about Fourtou about Alonzo's. He overrated. Arrived out go. Okay. That's okay. Okay. So you're ready given up on Conforto. I think giant turn Yankee fan, but I just wanted to have to do it. Anyway. Let's just drive me crazy. So which you have given me the player can photos the play a nimmo's the player. Well, when I first started out with which Hernandez, and Gary Cohn, Boorda was pretty close to Beirut. They're going to change. Yeah. You just you just listen. You're trying to be critical. That's all listen. They were very high on Conforto. Conforto has had had Conforto has had years, where he has looked very good Emory right now could fundable has twelve home runs this year sound like. He's having a terrible season. He has shown glimpses of being star. In baseball this year. The number one guy on M envy network, did not. I was watching him one night, the breakout player initially, she was confirmed. So it's not like the people haven't tried to make Conforto out to be a star. I don't remember anybody to make them almost on haven't heard that. Anything underrated Alonzo Anthony and Stanton island. What's up Anthony? What's up, Mike? The problem would Smith. Is he not only blocked by Alonzo, but McNeill is playing left field that the only other position that, that they see, here's the deal, okay? Macneil has got to be the third baseman case closed case closed. Now, you won't even second till Conoco back and play Frazier at third fine when canot comes back canot and McNeil and Rosario and Alonzo on the infield. Now, when did the comments in that I can't answer I could be will eventually, but it could be years away, but the mid infield should be until you make a decision on canot that can always hurt for length of time and Frazier, if he can battle his way in fine. But that means battle is way in for extra games pinch hit, maybe play here or there. But the bottom line is, I think you have to find out if Dominic Smith can play. I if you just deal Dominic Smith off right now for relief pitcher, then two years from now. Dominic Smith is knocking fences down somewhere. You're going to say, all whenever Dominic Smith a chance and gave them away for be level relief pitcher. And now he's averaging. Thirty home isn't one hundred is for some team. You know he was a first round pick. He's twenty three years old. And this year, he's three seventy five in limited bats. I'll give them a chance to play. Mike in Half Moon. What's up, Mike? I like doing over Baumgartner's numbers here, obviously, the Yankees pitcher. But you up for this guy you gotta go up a lot. It's not worth it. Thirteen and twenty two to three years the close to four this year, one complete games in two thousand sixteen and you've got to watch this. Twenty nine I get that. But he's coming from the National League, the American League, you're going to get a guy for the premium you're gonna pay you're not getting the premium pitcher, if I'm the and then you got to resign them to anything anything quote anything. They want. I'm giving them. Why? Because there's only a couple of special players. He has been, I don't care what his record is what the last place giants last couple of years, I know he can still pitch. I've watched them pitch a couple of times this year, he pitches, fine. Okay. He gets better with the better competition. You guys just don't go. You don't have long enough memories. Remember, I'll do K spending eleven weeks on the beach. And then being the Yankees, most dependable starter in the postseason. I mean you forget those days. And those days happen the lot back after this. Warning property protected by electric fence. Shortsighted in water. Warnings are truly handy.

"Right now. I would probably say no a who. Are they going to trade be who are they going to trade for? I mean right now. Early. Let me make a move for span maybe devised fan. There were reports that they were interested in span and thanks for the call Phillip. I don't know the latest on that. But there were reports that I saw maybe the last couple of days of the weekend that the Mets were interested in Denard span. And maybe it's maybe it is possible. A few days ago. So I'm just trying to pull up the exact report here apparently the market is picking up for span the Mets have shown interest in them. Let's see what the exact story is here. Jon Heyman was reporting that the Mets are one of five teams in the mix for free agent. Outfielder Denard span span will be a typical met Sonning thirty four years of age better days clearly behind him. But now they could use them if they have to move McNeil back to third base. I mean, it's not going to change the dynamic on the ballclub is going to make me think. Oh, yeah. You know, what they're covered now. Because Denard span is here. Decent player, but another guy who's past his prime bills in Yorktown with Bill. So you hit the nail on the head. And you last comment veteran art spent all the guys they get their old. They're washed up. I mean, this is a joke a couple of days ago. I was listening to this station. And I'm hearing oh, the Mets have depth right now. The Mets have some depth now today, I'm here about Frazier. He's older. He's done. He's past his prime. And can you answer me this? I'm here. I'm here at one time. I'm hearing his day to day. The next time. I'm listening to fan. I hear he's out indefinitely. Well, he said in a sound bite. He said himself that got all right back and shoulder strain oblique on. But yeah, the report is that he's out with an oblique strain. He's out. But I've heard the word they use the word indefinitely and also another thing I find so crazy on his way back to New York to get a cortisone shot. Now, if you have an oblique, strain or something wrong with your body, slam on a plane cannot be the best thing for you. And also, it's a cortisone shot. Don't have doctors in Florida. I'm pretty sure they have doctors hospitals all kinds of people in Florida to get a cortisone shot. That's just make no sense. They make no sense. That's a weird one won't, thanks. It isn't wing, and it's annoying that we have to even talk about this before March. I mean, it's one thing to deal with. An injury throughout the course of the season. What you would expect Lowry and Frazier at some point, by the way, one of the reasons Alderson signed Todd Frazier couple years ago prior to last year, it was because of his durability. And meanwhile, he gets her last year and he's already before this year. Get started. But you could expect something like that to happen. Throughout the course of the year, by the way. Better off without Frazier. Anyway, I mean the guy hits to thirteen police. Oh, no. But his Opie s and it's all trending in the right direction. That's what they told you last year coming off a your hit two thousand nineteen. He's got some decent. Pop Emmys three three years of age. He's clearly a player is on the decline even defensively last year. He wasn't as good as advertised as they said he was going to be he'll finally shore up third base. The Mets got themselves. The third baseman, obviously, all the uncertainty with David right over the years. They got themselves to third base more. Todd Frazier only two year deal. No big deal. It's been a disaster. So far for Todd Frazier. He's a nice guy. Great personality local guy, easy to root for. But he hasn't produced and coming off a year or two nineteen. I don't I don't know what you possibly expected from him. He basically lived up to the expectations other than being healthy or being unhealthy last season. I mean, he hit what you would expect to thirteen eighteen homers. Maybe you would have twenty four or something like that. But that's who Tom Frazier is Mets need do better than that. And now, they don't even have that. Because he's hurt. But let's hope that it's a blessing with Pete Alonzo. Anthony, what's up? What's up, Sal? How are you? Good. How are you? Just relax. I mean, the the the thing that's good about this is it is only February March twenty third and we had these injuries than I'd worry. But you'll they've already said they don't know if either guys going to be ready for opening day. And so what do you mean? Okay. So Larry MRs three four games beginning of the season McNeil goes to third or McNeil could stay in left JD. Oh, yeah. Now, you're talking and I forgot about him. Oh, how can I forget? You're right. I should relax. They're going to be good to go David could sort it there. I understand what you're saying. But I'm just saying we have a whole we have thirty one days till opening day. Oh, okay. Thank you. You nailed it on the head Todd Frazier. We're better off without him in the lineup. You still do you still would like to have some depth there? You don't want to see Dom Smith. And you don't wanna see really JD Davis that much of him either. Do you? No, I I don't wanna see that much. Did you wanna move McNeil already? I mean McNeil should've been a third the bigger injury. The bigger injury. Here is Lowry. But do you wanna move? They're trying to get McNeil time in left field to make him a left fielder, which is a mistake. And now they're going to have a problem doing that. Because they made him to come back to third base. So I mean, you want me to come down. But all is not well, and it's it's early already. Yeah. But what if here's my question? What if if you have if you leave McNeil in left field because you set the lower signing wasn't mistake. The guy had ninety nine RBI's he had forty plus doubles where where did you want them? I mean, I thought it was a good sign, and why is it bad sign because he's old these thirty four thirty five years of age and thanks for the call, and they didn't need them. They needed a center fielder, and you talk about jed Lowrie, and we've gone over this before and I'll pull up the numbers again now J lower. What are you have twenty four homers last year and ninety nine rabies not even anything close to that his career prior and his career prior not even close now the stack key guys you're going to give you oh looks at every age and home runs in RBI anymore. Okay. Right. It's all about the what the war the OB. The Oprah's all that stuff. So oh Lowry. Let me guess he's trending in that direction. Right. So it's a great signing for the Mets. It's a great signing. Does do those stats those guys who liked? That move to they take into account position of need and age because those are two factors as well. So while you may like Lowry's intangibles, you may like his war. You may like he's. PS? You may like what he did last year slugging was twenty three in one thousand nine hundred last year. You could almost add up every other year of his career and wouldn't come close to that. I mean, obviously, I'm being facetious here. But fourteen home runs before that two home runs before that in an injury plagued year nine home runs before that in an injury plagued year. Six home runs before that at the age of thirty point one hundred and thirty six games. Oh, well, you know, when he was twenty nine two thousand thirteen he did hit fifteen homers and drove in seventy five. I mean, you're going back. Now six years he was an all star last year. That was an aberration. To me, you think all of a sudden lower is going to be that player. Now moving forward. The PS. I'm looking at a guy who's going to be thirty five years of age, come April and a guy who's been injured before a guy who was coming off a career year. I would not expect that trend to continue in anything. You would think it would go down. Same thing. You think can knows going to continue like that forever. Now. Maybe he continues on his career path this year or next year. And maybe you take that. But at some point Robinson is going to start to decline. You're gonna go downward. And usually it happens when you get to thirty five thirty six years of age, unless of course, you're using performance enhancing drugs, which then could possibly get you suspended as Robertson Cano is well aware, Tom is in Hoboken. What's up, Tom? Hey, how's it going? I just wanted to talk about how you know. The Yankees have done amazing at recreating what they did the nineties. They're locking down their core. They're not, you know, taking sending me choose free agents. But what they need to do is signed Dallas Tyco. Why is this guy? Still a free agent. Well, I mean, I'm assuming he hasn't gotten the contract that he wants the Yanks are not going to be willing to go that far for him. I would assume that's that's one reason why he's not signing with them. But I mean, it's not signed by anybody. So you would think Dallas guy wants more than whatever the offers that are out there. I'm with you that I don't think it would be a bad signing. I think the Mets could use them more than the Yankees what the Yanks their rotation is filled out. You want to top guy what the Yanks is kaikal the top guy anymore. I'm not so sure yes. For the Mets they need a back end guy. And Kyko it'd be perfect in that role. Jio would be good for the Mets. But I'm talking about the acts like there hasn't been any reports on who's offering him like, you know, X amount of years. Like there's been nothing. I know. Well, we want me to tell you. I'm outta reporter. I want me again. What does the exact question? Why are the he's not interested in them? They probably don't think they probably don't think there's any form. And maybe they maybe they're not a fan of a maybe a big is on the decline. Maybe they think he's going to get too much money. I mean, do the math Yankees have even been rumored in it. Maybe they do. So I have no idea. Maybe they do ultimately saw them if we have decided to take a one year deal, maybe they do like them. But no report out. There would indicate that the Yankees are interested in Dallas kaikal the only team that I remember hearing about maybe chi- goal and kimbrel where the Phillies. Maybe certain teams are waiting to see how the Harper situation plays out. And then if let's say the Phillies don't get Bryce Harper. Then they go get kaikal and Campbell. Or maybe they're just making Harper the priority..
