Republican Voters Reflect On The Republican National Convention

"The Republican National Convention wrapped up on the South Lawn of the White House last night. That's where President Trump gave the final speech of the week He talked about law and order about American greatness and bash Joe Biden. We wanted to hear from some conservative voters on how the message is from the RNC landed this week from President Trump's speech last night. I feel like this was the line when he said that we do not put our trust In politicians or government. As our Saviour. We put our faith in Almighty God. Listen, Dick button, and I would second that when I saw the young man speaking about how he was cancelled. So were you talking about Nick Sandman, the young man who had Had the experience on the National Mall. So he got featured and talked about the idea of cancel culture. And it's something that is very important to me because my Children are more conservative. When they go out to college, or even at work. They will be. I don't know they will be bullied. I feel that there is an issue of freedom of speech. This is Dick Button ing. I agree, Chauncey. I really appreciated his speaking and for a young man. He really did a great job of stating. How he throat there were so many black Republicans Black Latino Asian, It was sort of a multi racial vision of the party that isn't necessarily in line with the data of the voting patterns. Can you talk about what you thought about what you heard from those speakers? Well, I think it's something that needed to be pointed out. Yes and tohave the black people coming forward and making that statement I thought was good. It was absolutely necessary for the convention to have people of different backgrounds and different status in life because It's the media and it's the message and that's what's causing all the unrest that saying Either you're here or you're there, and that's unfair. It's been unfair to the president from day one. You said something that this is the cause of unrest. This divisiveness What's your response to the viewers who say the cause of the unrest is police misconduct? Listen, this country is a big country with a lot of police departments and They probably are and there is justice. That's nothing Serve properly to say that it's systemic to state. It's systemic. To me, that's cowardice. My daughter is a nurse. And there are good nurses and there are bad nurses. There are good doctors and there are bad, doc and there are good policemen, and unfortunately what back we spent, and I'm sure we've all had that. Paul. Let me let you jump in here. Clearly, there are instances of excessive use of police force. Police officers are, in fact human beings and some human beings. They're bad things, whether by mistake or by malice, the insistence on framing The use of police force in racial terms has ruined any chance of an honest conversation about it. Right now, the president is dealing with a number of crises. There's the pandemic, There's thie. Massive job loss. And there are these protests over police misconduct. The's are all things that have happened under his watch. It's a little different from being new to the political scene and saying Here's how I'm going to improve things. If voters on the fence and watching all this why should they not think that the buck stops with him publicly here? I'll jump right in on that the president actually tried to get out in front of the Corona virus. The steps that he tried to take initially were blocked and he was chastised for them by the opposition party. As well as the riots that have been going on. The president has offered help to the cities and states. Not only has he been rejected, he had been ridiculed. He's been told to get out of there State He's been Billa vied. It sounds like what you guys were saying is the message to voters is None of this is his fault, and he tried and he needs another four years to improve the situation. I would go so far as to say it's sabotage.

The Test of Faithfulness

"We've been talking about the different kinds of testings. That we go through that really are not bad things. A May seem to be bad while we're going through them because they're not real comfortable but uh, we usually learn later on. We, look back and we realized they were some of the best things. Ever happened to us in our life. and. I've been teaching off of the principle that before promoted, we always have to pass us. Where we're at and a lot of times we pray for promotion without realizing we're actually praying for tests. If you know if you pray for patients, you're GONNA get trials. If you pray to be more loving, you're going to get more people around you that are hard to love. I mean, it's true. You say we we don't just learn things. Because we pray for them. We learn things because God gives us something to practice on, and so we have all this wonderful fruit of the spirit in us. When the Holy Spirit comes to live in you all the fruit of the spirit comes in seed farm. And I love what the Bible says and. I John. It. Talks about how? The. Divine. Sperm of Almighty God is planted. Our spirit. And so I always like to say were pregnant with God. The divine sperm which Jesus Christ. The seat of God comes to live in us at the new birth. And so. A Sea of everything that God is is in each and every one of us, but we know that seed has to be watered. And so we do what we water it with the water of the word. And it has to have the right amount of sunshine. The right amount of rain. And it grows little by little little. And Pretty. Soon. Good things begin to pop out to you. But if you think about a pregnant woman, you can have a skinny little thing that is all excited and says I'm pregnant and you think well, you don't look pregnant to me. Sometimes, that's the way we are as new believers. We tell people. Oh, you won't believe what happened. They'll think well. You don't look any different sometimes in the very beginning, you don't even need. But something's happening inside. And the more that happens inside pretty soon, it's going to pop on the outside. And then people are going to begin to see it amen. But What you have to be in the meantime is what I want to talk about this afternoon. That's faithful. One person wants to hear my message. You. Know Faithfulness is on the endangered character list. I don't know if you realize it or not. But. We're. In serious trouble. In our society today. because. The things that we should be displaying the most similar to be disappearing more and more and more. All the time. and. I was talking to somebody about a week ago and I said I am so glad. That I got to be alive. In the days when people still had integrity. And if somebody did a job most of the time, they did it with excellence. When we were more concerned about quality than quantity. When even people that weren't quote saved? We're still. Pretty Nice. When people weren't so rude. When men didn't curse in front of women just out of respect. On. Not that they should be using bad language in front of anybody. But even if it was somebody who was not a believer and they used bad language, they wouldn't do it in front of a woman. There was respect. In the world and a certain amount of morality even among people that didn't claim. To Be Christians. I'm glad that I lived in the days when it was fairly common to hear people talking about God. I'm really glad that I didn't miss those times because I still have a lot of that in me and it makes me so sad. To see where our society. How far it's fallen in I would say especially the last thirty years. We're just on a steady decline. And I can tell you if anybody is going to model good character to the world, it's going to have to be the believers. because. The only place we can even hope to be taught that anymore throwing the word of God. And it's something we need to do a lot of teaching on. In our churches. People in always just need to hear how God wants to bless them. That's a good message. And it's wonderful to know how much God loves you and. What a great plan he has for your life but sometimes, we just need a little row royal spanking. A man. We just need to be reminded that we need to be. Hey, according. To Biblical

6 Ways to Survive Survivor Guilt

"Have. You ever made it through something awful or survived a disaster and instead of feeling good, you felt this heaviness in the pit of your stomach. When. Tragedy befalls those around us. But leaves US unscathed. Some of US feel really guilty. Welcome back to savvy psychologist I'm your host Dr J. Woo. Every week will help you meet life's challenges with evidence based research, a sympathetic ear and zero judgment. Today we talk about how to understand and cope with survivor guilt. Survivor. Guilt happens when a person perceives themselves to have done something wrong by surviving catastrophe or injustice while others died or suffered. Its intensity can. Shoot from bittersweet to all out despair. Survivor guilt is conventionally associated with large scale catastrophes like the battlefield or a plane crash, but it can actually pop up in more common situations to. For example, one study found that about sixty, five percent of cancer patient caretakers, experience survivor guilt. Anyone who has participated in a cancer support group will recognize the many layers of grief after the group loses one of its members, the survivors ask each other. You know, why did she die while we're still here? She was so kind and giving in behind to kids and grandkids. Why are we the lucky ones? In Two Thousand Twenty, survivor guilt might be even more salient than usual. For example of CO, Grad student from Florida despairing over the fate of his family and country while he studies physics and Germany watching the coronavirus number. Sore at home. He, says, I didn't do anything to deserve being safe. How can I sit here and play with equations all day when my community back home suffering? And what about survivors of economic devastation? A employees who keeps her job while her equally qualified co workers laid off in a large scale. Corporate rightsizing might feel uneasy about her unjustified privilege. Why not me? She asks, do I really deserve to have this job more than my co workers did? Finally and tragically. Survivor, guilt has been a well-known experience among war veterans for whom this experience can be Ashley a significant risk factor for PTSD and even suicidal thoughts and attempts. In a research study interview, one veteran recounts. The only thing I've really had issued dealing with was when I got wounded how I came away. Relatively Scott free. If you will, whereas the guy on my right died and the guy, my left can't lift his arm higher than this anymore. and. There are scores of examples, but in general survivors have some of these themes in their experience either alone or in combination. Theme, Number One is guilt about surviving. This is what we classically think of ask survivor guilt. If you remain safe while other suffered in an accident in a war and the covid nineteen pandemic by being granted asylum, you may feel you don't deserve your safety believe that you should have succumb to. Question, the wisdom and fairness of the world. And theme, number? Two is guilt over what you should have done. You might feel guilty that you didn't do enough. You should've known. You should've tried harder. You should've worn them, maybe try to rescue someone from addiction, for example, but failed, there's an over exaggerated sense of failure or responsibility. If only I had done something differently. Another theme number three is guilt over what you did. You may feel guilty for things. You did instead of feeling guilty about things you should have done. You may feel guilty for things you Ashley, did do for example from running without looking back for your friends while escaping the burning building or escaping poverty by leaving your family to go to college. Or. You may feel intense guilt for things that you did. That were mere coincidence. On the day, the music died in one, thousand, nine, hundred, thousand, nine, country music star Waylon. Jennings. was supposed to be on the plane that killed musicians buddy holly, the big bopper and Ritchie. Valens. Orlando Bloom says his missing dog, Mighty, is dead and reveals a tribute tattoo

"A sad update on a story we talked about a couple of days ago A concerning Orlando Bloom's dog, Mighty Almighty has passed away about, Yeah, Orlando Bloom said. That might ease on the other side. Now, after seven days of searching from sunrise to sunset and into the wee hours today we found his collar he wrote on Instagram in Orlando. Bloom also shared that he received a tribute to my tea on his chest, So he got a tattoo that says Mighty Over his heart. Ah, that is not a story that we had a happy ending. You know, he said, I feel so grateful to have learned from my little mighty man that love is eternal. And the true meaning of devotion. So sweet, so rest in peace, Little mighty quick.

"Do Mine's bigger than yours loving us with all of the consequences. Soon we receive the body of the Lord that has been broken open by suffering in order to be shared. We are taking into ourselves taking upon ourselves the same mission the same life's work. The joy of the Eucharist is precisely in this call to take up our cross and follow. The joy of the Eucharist. Is in what Julian of Norridge put so well through the grace of God and the teaching of holy Church. I developed a strong desire to receive three wounds. Namely the wound of true contrition, the wound a genuine compassion and the wound of sincere longing for God. Lord, I am not worthy of you. Wound my soul with your love and I shall be healed. I believe in God, Father Almighty, creator of Heaven and Earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only son, Our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit Born of the Virgin Mary suffered under punches. Filing was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell. On the third day, he arose again from the dead. They descended in heaven and seated at the right hand of God. The father almighty. From there he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the Communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life everlasting. In the power of the spirit and in union with Christ..

"We will not be able to really exercise due diligence until we're willing to do. Both of those things the first thing we gotta do is we gotTa Forget. Once you forget Ford now. That's not saying he became. He got like Amnesia. But he's saying I'm not willing to make that my focus anymore. How many have seen the old movie, Ben Hur talking to the original. Not The remake okay? In that movie, there's a great chariot race that takes place. And, it's an incredible scene, and it's probably the most popular seems was some people aren't aware of something very tragic happened during that scene in real life, a man lost his life. In fact, that's actually in that film. That was not taken out. Is In there. Because they felt that to take it out, would have caused that his death to abandon in vain. But what we see is if you're riding in a chariot. which would have had these Olympics? You Earn Cherry erasing. What's the worst thing that you could do? Oh. Right. You. Get Your eyes off and start looking at something else. You. Don't know where you're going to end up. You have to keep your eyes focused to had not worry about where you've already been. You know where you've been. That's still in your head, but that's not your concern anymore. All the concerned it was what lays straight ahead of you. Paul had to do the same thing, but can I tell you. There's three things that he had to forget. The first thing Paul had to forget what a successes! Remember. Paul was affair of Pharisees. He studied under the most Lee of all the fair sees that existed in that day he had all of the the prestige. He had all of the power and position that he could want. To follow Christ. And, then he got asked him to leave all of that and you know what he did. He did it willingly and he never looked back. He left Oliver's successes. The also had to leave his failures. And you see that throughout his writings, because in this first ratings you can see that he was having a hard time. Letting go was failure because you're trying to justify his role in his position as an apostle, I the greatest of the apostles kind of read one of those passages here this morning. Right about my qualifications to be in this role. But amongst his last letters, he calls himself the chief of sinners. Right he'd gotten to the point where he no longer had to worry about his failures and justify himself. He's say yeah. You know what I have messed up royally. But that's not what defines many more because for me to live is Christ. And diets game. Right I am crucified with crisis. No longer that looks, but Christ lives in me. See who's willing to leave it all behind. But can I tell you the other thing he had leave behind? Was the good life. That kind of goes along with success as part. But you understand. He had everything going for him. Before he became a parcel that had undergo although shipwrecks and beatings and stonings and everything else that we named off. But what he had to do. You had to be very different from the Israelites because what happened to the Israelites when they went to the wilderness. We'd be better off in Egypt. They kept going back in their minds to Egypt time and time again. It was better back then remember the good old days. Forget about the good old days because.

"Excuse me whole lot less than eight hundred, so they were familiar with these games. And maybe Paul was. Even more familiar than most because of his occupation. What was he? Besides an apostle, he was a tent maker, and what would often happy kind give you? A little bit of a background is the citizens of Greece Rome and of Corinth and Paul stay would flock to the Olympic Games. And they would gather of course from Europe foreign. If you've watched even the medieval emitted. What do you usually see happening? They've got tents. Set up all over the place. And this was the case even in. Paul's Day they would stay in tents and. Probably why Paul made so many. References we're going to see today. To this concept of running the race or finishing the race or wrestling and things of that nature. There were judges and they sand small thrones. They were dressed in purple. And they would start the contrast with judge. Winners make sure everybody followed the rules very similar. To what happens today though the Games were very different? And the clothing was also very different. Today. But what happened was was these athletes were trained for nine months in order to compete in those contests. And it would be strict training. It would be hard training. They would give up nearly all of their freedom in order to prepare. For these races, so and these contests, or they could win the prize, and what was the prize? A Laurel. Leaf around the head. Right nothing huge other than that and the sheer satisfaction of knowing. That they were the Creme de la Creme. And what I think about the scriptures, especially the New Testament if we had to pick just one person other than Jesus Christ. Who really modeled Christianity. As an Olympian. It would be Paul. Right, he did more. He accomplished more than any of the other apostles dead. But. It did not come without its cost. If you read Second Corinthians Chapter Eleven versus twenty, two, twenty nine. You see a section of scripture. Paul pretty much gives almost. Trying to justify his, position? In the ranks of the..

"Of being the ground of becoming then. I can see those mistakes and flaws in myself as growth opportunities not. Not Identities to get hooked by. Thank God. Well said thank you know. So thinking about that being as the ground becoming. There's a lot of us who carry wounds from the image of God that we had where it was. A sense of God in control of everything every corner is kinda rounded or preplanned. Versus the God does participating with us. These two polarities, we heal the one. The sense of God is a control of everything and almost like. I say as a deep wounding something that I experienced in my own evangelical upbringing. And shifting into God that is participating with us. How do you recommend someone? Learn to lean into that participation with God and the flow of Trinity versus this Almighty. From top down, not from within. Well let me say first of all that it does need to be healed. 'cause you stay with the God who is Almighty. You have just created fifteen major theological problems for everybody, or they go into denial. They just religion as the language of pretend. But not a language that has anything to do with the real world or my real life, so it has to be healed. I'm not saying that our ancestors who probably died with that notion of God weren't beloved of God, but we made the journey very hard for them. Because it was all static, quantifiable, countable, measurable, retributive enforceable. Oh that's a cage. You just can't get out of. So once you move from that economy, which is an economy of meritocracy as we call it. To what I believe, the True Understanding of the Gospel you stop counting. And you have time when you stop counting to recognize the flow the participation. The uplift the waves of grace. Continue to flow through you toward you even on your bad days, but as long as you measure. And count it stops the flow. It really does because you have a quick certitude about whether. She deserves whether I deserve whether she's right. Whether I'm right, you stop. This closed down counting. And measuring. What happens is your. Quality of perception. Gets much more subtle, and while you're driving down the street, you can say.

Heavenly Sources Confirm Jesus Christ Will Transfer To Iowa State University After Getting Grades Up

"Journalistic enterprises like the ones. You just heard after this message from our sponsors who may or may not actually have something useful to settle you. There's only one way to find out our top story. Today comes from the heavens as a lesion authorities are reporting that Jesus Christ will be transferring to Iowa State University in the fall after getting his grades up. The once academically troubled son of God seems to have finally been able to rehabilitate his image and get his schoolwork up to snuff over the last year at Western Iowa Tech Community College. And he's now ready to move onto the next chapter of his education. We're joined by. Opr's afterlife correspondent thaddeus Lawson to unpack the big news. Hi Leslie good to be here that is. This has been a long journey full of ups and downs for the son of God trying to make the grades and to be Frank. Fixing some behavioral problems. So he could get into a state or private school right after graduating. Saint Peter's high school with a dismal one point three grade point average. A lackluster five eighty. Sat score and a disorderly conduct arrest drunkenly urinating on the streets of gold by his house. He couldn't get accepted into any of his preferred universities. That's what his father started. Pressuring him to enroll in community college to get back on track. That wasn't a quick fix. His father was hoping for either correct. I mean he failed the winter semester at tech last year because he blew off his business administration final to play call of duty right and then he started this spring semester. This year getting kicked out of his welding class when he welded several pipes into a satanic pentagram not to mention his outright refusal to stand his dyslexia medication. So most didn't think you'd get to this point so that was the catalyst well my sources. Tell me that the son of God did a lot of small things like making sure to always sit in the front row and show up to class with a pencil but the real wakeup call for him came in February when his best. Buddy nate overdosed on method an epic. Kager our Lord and Savior through. Yeah after he found nate lifeless in a ditch by the house Christ shared with six other roommates. He told those closest to him that he needed to sober up and stop wasting away life. The Lord finally sobering up is definitely a step in the right direction. A what was his final. Gpa and greats like for this semester although we got to ds and biology and computer science he did manage to get an a minus a nutrition and B. Minus in the history of rock and roll which pulled his GPA up to a two point eight. That's plenty good for Iowa state and what's The reaction from the Heavens God Almighty and all his heavenly hosts are simply ecstatic. They're all just happy. That Jesus Christ and his father are taking an early to Iowa state to purchase some. Isu Swag the bookstore. Instead of burying the son of God with a needle coming out of his arm I can't help but ask and no offense to Iowa state but why them and not more storied private school. I mean this is the son of God. We're talking about wouldn't have brown taken him as a legacy student now. It's my understanding that Jesus wanted to create his own path and had zero interest in following his father's footsteps by going to Brown plus he liked the reasonable out of state tuition Iowa state and their study abroad option in Australia and as an aspiring radio. Dj He was impressed with Iowa State's communications program and ability to get involved early in the department student. Run radio station. Well of Christ is out there. Listening

Lifestyle Makeovers: How to Set Personal Boundaries

"Last month. I was standing at the counter waiting for the sales clerk to help me when this woman. That's right in front of me in line. I was shocked. But then they a word hutches pros like an ice sculpture. Dear Oprah I have confrontation phobia once when my hairstylist giving a bad haircut? I didn't tell her I even tipped her then. I just went home and cried. I let people walk all over me like a nature trail. There's someone owes me money. I don't ask for it back and if I do try to bring it up I can hear my voice quivering with fear so I back on a heat beam like this and I really wanted to see well creating stronger boundaries. Is the number one way for most women to improve their lives? Are Lifestyle Makeover Expert Cheryl? Richardson says if you're not setting boundaries. Listen to this if you're not setting boundaries than you are really inviting people to ignore your need right that you get that you're saying come home it's funny you say that because I remember years ago. Someone sent me a postcard. Friend is a joke and on the postcard was a woman. Laying on the ground in there were Footsteps Her body to here and the line unto captions underneath read. Wait wait. There's a part of my face. You haven't stepped on yet well and humorous as it might have been. It really struck me. I realized at that. Time if we don't set boundaries if we don't teach people how to treat us that's the way says if we don't teach people how to treat us then essentially we're basically giving people permission to walk. Well yes and so when you find yourself in a position where you are the one who's always babysitting and then you can't anybody to babysit. You have taught people to respond to you that way. We notice in that point. She said well. I can't find anybody my question would be. Are you asking anybody because usually we have a hard time asking for the things that we need or we have a hard time telling people stop? Can't go any further or that's not okay with me and so we end up feeling come from. Where does this come from well? I think it's I think it's complicated. And the truth is most of our parents were never taught to have boundaries. I think if you go back quite frankly oprah couple hundred hundred years in you look it back then. People had children and children work the farms or they worked the land. I mean there wasn't there wasn't a lot of relating between people and so people never learned how to say this is where I stop and this is where you begin and it just gets carried over. That's right generation women people not as many people put as when women people. We have been socialized to go along with the program. Our brains are. Set Up to be relational more so in a different way than men so being relational whiffed. We've confused being relational or relationship oriented with giving up our needs for everybody else and we've confused being nice with letting people use you. That's right that's right don't you? Thanks good actually to just eliminate from your vocabulary quite frankly because that's exactly what it means being being able to do what other people want you to do but not necessarily especially making sure you like me making sure you speak well about me making sure. I keep you happy. I don't disappoint you. All that stuff now show says to find clues about boundaries. You need to set remember a time when you felt this. Cheryl up remember time when you felt angry anxious or resentful. Yes those are. The first thing is we have to identify where we don't have boundaries in our lives and a lot of women can answer that question so what you can do is take out your journal and start writing about wh. When do I normally feel resentful? When do I feel frustrated? When do I feel anxious? When do I run to the refrigerator? When somebody says something to me and I don't say anything instead I go stuff the feelings with food. Those will start to give you some clues to the places we may need to set boundaries. Okay and after you do that. Then what once you identify a lot of people know where it is when my mother calls when my sister calls anybody as a woman on the tape says we need to do anything right okay right once he would dentist where they are and I think that is important first. Step then it's about getting up the courage to set the boundaries. And it's not just. I'm going to be bold and courageous and go out and do what you need to prepare yourself. You need have someone to speak to. Before and after a difficult conversation you need the right language. We heard something on the tape about well. I don't know what to say. Most of most of the time the reason women don't set boundaries. They don't know what to say. That is true. When I give them language to set a boundary with Grayson love. You can see change in someone's facebook. Oh I can do that. Oh I it never occurred to me. I could say it that way so we need support. We need language and then we just have to take the Almighty leap. I've had this problem for years or had this problem for years and I had to start small and to start a small so at first I couldn't just say no I would have to say used to say. Well let me pray about it. Let me let me let me pray about it. Only prey on it. Let me see and then let me get back to you. Can I think about it for a moment and think about it? Could you give me a day? Will you know what Oprah a lot of women? It doesn't even occur to them if they can do that. And I like that. Let me pray about let me sleep on it or not say. Jesus said no

"For Wednesday April fifteenth goes to a young eighteen year old. Rapper named Leeann Almighty Jay. Now why be an Almighty? Jay is an antisocial distance. And you know what I say about antisocial distances. They the same type of folks who wouldn't have gotten on the Ark. When Noah told him it was about the rain we've seen so many stories of antisocial distances getting sick and in some cases like Bishop Gerald Glenn who said God is lodging in Corona. Well he died. So we tell you that you need practice antisocial distancing we are telling you not just for your own good but for the good of others because we all got things to do. We all need to get back outside so we can get back to the real hustle of life and we can't do that unless we social distance and flattened this curve. You see flattening you see. Social distancing is working all around the country so we need to continue to do more of it so can get back outside now. Why Being Almighty J. Upset with us because of this room report from earlier this week. Let's hear it I Vienna Mighty J. He was talking to TMZ and he said that he's just not taking corona virus seriously. Here's what he said I recorded. Newseum granny game sleepy all know really serious those but I still have been having like girls. Start like full of fun. Even though you're supposed to be social distancing or good we don't Zozo basis are checking their temperature or anything when they come like you taking any precautions way. Well you man who also has also had unprotected sex randoms. I'm sure if you have unprotected sexual random you damn strong afraid with not afraid of no corona bars right. So even though he's staying in the house you can't just be meeting women and inviting them during his time you could be infecting them with Corona virus once they infect you and you're spreading it around is really times maybe just the celebrate for a second but the young man who show it takes chances with his penis and had a lot of unprotected sex we randoms so he responded to that by posting it on his instagram. He's he put this caption some things in this world. I would never understand. I judge so much by lame ass mother efforts that don't know me in real life and why the F. was that just dry. Hate on young negroes this right here crazy. Swipe left to see a different response to the same statement. F- at Breakfast Club. Am owed miserable bitches first of all. Why Being Almighty compared to you. You're eighteen. I'm forty one. I'm old I get it. I may even be bitch depending on the circumstances and I'm fine with that but miserable. Never my life is amazing. Myself worth is more than my net worth but my network my network is in bad. What say you envy? I'm on is pretty good. I'm all right. I'll hear what say what. Say You ye decent. Yeah happening okay okay. So nobody's miserable in the room. Everybody all right okay. Now the reason why being Almighty Jay is getting donkey today is because clearly. He just wants attention. He's sitting in the house quarantine and he's happy. He got mentioned on the Breakfast Club. And listen if you didn't like what we said. Cool okay. COVID-19, Chinas wet markets, and bats - is it US not THEM?

"And now we see Larry's outbreaks in the last few decades that are related to animal eating in China. What happens in China? What people do to animals in China how repercussion beyond Chinese border? Let's Professor Deborah Jar. She's author of animals in China Law and society and we're going to take a close look at the animals that find themselves in China's wet markets today and into the curious origins of this Almighty pandemic. I have to side. It's beyond anything that I could have imagined. It really is at bats. Worst CASE SCENARIO SCOTT AS FAR as I'm concerned and that's from someone who's worked in the area and someone is trying to increase the awareness that this kind of thing would happen. It seems to have happened so rapidly and we seem to have been totally unprepared for it. She infield he's with the echo health alliance as their science and Policy Advisor for China and Southeast Asia regions eventually and environmental scientist. Hey knows he's infectious diseases. And he's Bet Corona viruses. He's an international authority on them which is why he is quick to discredit conspiracy theories swirling around about the origins of the SARS Cov virus. That's caused this cove. Nineteen pandemic one being that it came from the Wuhan Institute Veraldi Attain Hayes. Worked closely alongside. There was a big a lot of discussion about conspiracy theories either about manufacturing losses biowarfare about escapes from large raise. Excetera truth is trying to fiction. We we don't need to manufacture this far as it exists in Niger. As is from my scientific point of view that argument that it's manufactured bars has been tightly discredited winsor Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome first appeared in two thousand and two in China human was part of the international team. That did that hard. Detective work the years to trace its origin back to a corona virus in beds and the team's been surveying and identifying Bet Corona viruses across China saints. The size called to virus is ninety. Six percents SIMILAC genetically to about corruption virus working with Salads and with colleagues in China. I had the opportunity to see how intelligent how how technically skilled however principled. My colleagues in China were Humza signatory to erase it later. In The Lancet Medical Journal expressing solidarity with China's scientists and concern that conspiracy theories are threatening the rapid open and transparent sharing of data on the covered nineteen at break on people. Say yes but it's Johnny's system which autocratic I can be my to do it etc I nine principles about fats. Those people in that lab at on. We'll be working flat out around. The clock does manual. It comes with his ours. You know you've got to start from scratch stopped from nearest point of knowledge songs develop diagnostics tried to treatment methodologies. That'll be working flat out getting pulled in every direction. Trying to get on top of this thing. That's ahead stop. But where the virus got. It's real headstart. Perhaps OVER MILLENNIA. Ease in bats and scientists have benches with bats have taken him all over the place. All over Italy David Heymann is professor of Infectious Disease Ecology at Massey University in New Zealand. And Yeah some people selling hundreds of back carcasses who to Yeah people wearing Jin as a libation. A bill offering to the bats in a cave. And there's no doubt about it is that's the galling but what I want to know is why beds in particular how the so many viruses that are so deadly to us and yet not to them and to do that. We need to get denied. That's a bit better which Mike Up About. A fifth of the world's Mammalian species the phenomenal mammals. Actually they're the only mammals that truly fly the evolutionary. Oh they've been around many tens of millions of years from fossil records. Basically they live live everywhere on earth really apartment article so that enthused New Zealand out here Hawaii three to take so they're very well adapted the lots of different spaces and the really good for the environment. So for example predation pests. They prevent crop and forest damage. Because I eating insect predators suck the hugely ecologically important. Certainly the the fruit eating bats are great seat disperses Italy to see elite fruit the C. Pass through the bat schedule intestinal system and then it puts it out in a new location. So that helps maintain I. They also pollinate Important crops because revolved for so long. There are many plants for example rely on best to do the pollination and all the seed dispersal for them. David Hyman Ward. Mike's bats such a distinct. Such prime reservoir for novel viruses that can then subsequently crossover and infect other animals than they known to humans. What is it about the laugh of bets and better species so there are many hypotheses one is just the sheer diversity of bats around the world so therefore they have a diverse range of ours is and we think that they've been around for a long time cheaply long lived species relatively speaking and I will live for years and tens of years. Not like rodents that live within a year. They're gone. They will like humans in cities. I mean they form very dense colonies with thousands in a small space so that's ideal for infection spill to transmit from one individual to another Peter Virus Heaven and what's more abet colony might contain multiple bat species so viruses can adapt and crossover between them. He catching a ride when the bats migrate onwards so then they concede infection into new columnist. These multiple networks and communities about spending vast lots of different viruses between them probably lead to them being great host for these viruses. You look at the things I well I if Laras then this is way are would do well it. All of this going from built the interaction. The numbers I felt the citizens either Tom etc etc and the range of viruses bets carry all that originated in bats is mind blowing. Yeah there's extra diversity and it's not just trying of ours. Is that seems to be the same for paramedics of our season. Rabies probably had bats and even things like measles and canine distemper virus. Which we now and paper will be familiar with. Lissa viruses herpes to ebola influenza. A Hendra Nipah that most viruses. That bets incubate don't seem to make bets seek rabies. Seems to be one of the notable exceptions. Why don't they get seek? You didn't quite a really hard to study some of the hypotheses of that because bats have evolved to repair the muscles for example that the tissues that damage during his flight is really intensive. They vote repair. Mechanisms enable them to repair cells for example and versus damaged cells and. There's lots of consequences to that. That doesn't tell the entire story. They ran the immune system. That means that they. They seem to have constant arts they. Immune system switched on during the dice and also they. They fly everyday that I get the core body. Temperatures are effectively. What we do if we're sick and feverish so if you can imagine that we as mammals we have to similar response when rail one hypothesis is that when we do our normal response to viral infections. Then actually these viruses evolved in that sort of environment. And they don't mind so they carry on replicating the things that we do to suppress viruses don't suppress the bat farces. But that's just one. Hypothyroidism is a few others clever little biological systems in a molecular clock analysis that said that Corona viruses and bats had been coexisting for at least ten thousand news probably hundreds of thousands of years and possibly millions of years so these are very robust and sort of long term. Evolution are of these farces within spats and the issue is not about changing to become infectious. Hatha generate to patriots getting from bad to the purse on Wallis taking him. Bats doing their own thing. There's no pro-woman's each bridge what we call an epidemiological bridge wants that bridges. Creator so the agent can get from the reservoir to the purse. So you pay. That's when the trouble starts and there is a perfect place for that Epidemiological Bridge to be built.

"Just as the main characters and sitting on a hill the fight against the status quo corruption fun Tanna as a writer and producer is fought just as diligently against the status quo of television. That's from David David Beyond Cooley. Npr shows nearly as good city on a hill is what we're going to be reviewing this time here on. Sinophile in addition to that. How about this smorgasbord of stuff? That I've been catching up on oak which is bogged Juninho's film. He made before he won the Academy Award for Parasite Bruce L. by that's right Jim Carey classic from Oh three. I'd never seen it before. So I caught up on that reverse lafortune. I wanted to watch against thirtieth anniversary the film which won an Academy Award for Jeremy Irons and COP. Land an awesome cop movie from years ago. Those the movies are reviewing this time. Entertainment News of course about Corona virus and also Mount Rushmore. Jim Carrey movies and on her Bruce Almighty. How tough is that going to be a mount? Rushmore the Jim Carey best movies. We'll also do total recall from nine hundred ninety. That's the films of nine thousand nine hundred eighty nine when driving miss daisy. On best picture if you can believe it or not first and foremost though thank you so much for listening really appreciate all of you hope. You're all staying safe and at home is obviously going to be another month at least this. So let's keep the self distancing going and hopefully reading a lot of good books and reading a lot of good stuff out there on your hands and of course watching a lot of movies and TV and that's why attempt to help. I want to start with what everybody is talking about. Which is Tiger King on Net flicks? I believe it's a number one trending thing and net flicks right now. Everyone's watching it tweeting about it commenting about it. So I watched an episode and a half just too weird for me and to be honest with reminded me of a great documentary a much better documents. Your opinion called Fash cheap and out of control that's from Errol Morris and that's actually what I'd rather see when it comes to line kings in line tamers but I recognize the social currency. Which is why I want to open with that like I said. I think everybody's watching it or talking about it wasn't for me too. Outlandish too weird to screwed up and it seven episodes of forty five minutes of peace. It to me I gave it over an hour and I don't want to give five hours of my life. That was my thought process on it. Joe. Have you watched higher king? Are you aware of the buzz around this on Netflix? And I think we're in the exact same place as far as the show. I and a half in So far I don't really know what to make it but have been told that around episode three. The plot just takes a really really weird turn. Yeah I'm at the point now where he's married to two different guys. Listen to chew on. I'm just getting a little too weird for me. I don't know where this is going and I wonder too and I'm curious because now glad you're going to keep watching because then you can give your review. I'm never a fan of shows where you're laughing at the characters. I don't know if the filmmaker is trying to illuminate these characters or he's laughing at the characters and I think once you figure out what it is that will often depend upon whether or not you think it's good or not but we'll see what happens. I'm sure a lot of people wanNA talk about that another time. Let's start with city on a hill. It's on showtime. Here'S A synopsis early. One Thousand Nine Hundred Boston..

God In Critical Condition

"Millions Express concern. Today is the Lord God Maker of Heaven and Earth was rushed to the hospital after accidentally shooting himself while cleaning his gun. Opr's afterlife correspondent thaddeus Lawson joins us now. Then let's get to it. Is God going to survive this accident? Leslie I'm standing outside. The Mayo Clinic. Were just moments ago. Doctors have assured us that following surgery. God's condition is stabilising. He's currently under observation. Doctors say as of now the wounds do not appear to be life threatening. That's a relief. Do we know what happened. Authorities believed that God's shot himself in the thigh while cleaning his Beretta nine millimeter semiautomatic pistol. Witnesses reported hearing a loud gunshot at approximately seven forty five. Am Heaven Standard. Time followed by the king of kings stumbling interview clutching his leg and shouting. Oh Fuck Oh shit. It hurts so bad. Well that's certainly concerning but it sounds like it could have been a lot worse. Oh absolutely as you know. God is a major gun collector. And if he had been cleaning his AK or his Mossberg five hundred the Almighty's injuries could have been far more serious. Dr Heidi Snow was present for the surgery. Here's what she had to say. Fortunately God missed any major arteries and we were able to extract the bullet fairly routinely. There may be some permanent scarring on the leg but honestly it's a little hard to tell because he's just so so right now thaddeus got his obviously very high profile patient and the fact that he was hospitalized for a self inflicted. Gunshot wound sparked a national conversation about firearm safety. There are hundreds of fatalities from accidental. Gun deaths each year not even counting the celestial around. Do you have any advice for our listeners? On how to avoid an accident like this yes responsible gun owners are reminded to always double check to make sure their firearm isn't loaded before cleaning it. In addition experts advise that you should never ever point the muzzle of a gun towards you whether you're the divine creator or so. When do we expect God will be released while as you know? God's a real fighter and we expect that there will be a relatively short recuperation time. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if we see him back out on. Heaven's shooting range in the next day or two. Well let's hope so. Thank you

The State of Indian Nations

"This is native America calling. I'm Tara Gate. Would climate change the federal government's trust responsibility and congressional action on violence against women. Child Welfare and tribal sovereignty are among the issues tackled today in fond sharps first State of the Indian nations address. She is the president of the National Congress of American Indians. She didn't hold back in her address. Press criticizing federal elected leaders for what she called inaction and indifference. When it comes to native nations she also touted the gains tribes continue? We need to make in spite of challenges. In the congressional response to the address New Mexico Representative Deborah Holland a Democrat and a citizen of the Laguna Pueblo continued criticisms of the administration and issued a call to all need of nations to act in the best interests Anita values. We're going to hear both speeches beaches this hour. If you WANNA comment send us an email you can send it to comments at native America calling DOT COM or tweeted to us at one eight hundred nine nine native. Here's President von Sharp. Kyo which I'm just Jack. I wish Guy Good Morning. My name is fawn sharp. I consider it my life's greatest honor to have this opportunity to share with you today. I thank the Creator for gathering us together for this historic dialogue between Indian country and the United States on behalf of the five hundred and seventy four federally recognized tribal nations dozens of state recognized tribal nations and millions of native people across this country country. I welcome the distinguished. Guests assembled here today and those watching around the globe to the eighteenth annual State of Indian nations address. I stand before you today. As a humble servant of all tribal nations fulfilling my duty to share Indian countries story of perseverance and resurgence with the world to convey with absolute clarity Indian countries expectations of the United States government government and to cast a light on the immense power and proven wisdom of tribal nation's governing their own lands and affairs solving difficult challenges and forging brighter futures on their own terms. I embrace the enormity of this task for I have been groomed for decades aides to carry it out by transformative leaders in his footsteps I follow leaders like Beatrice Black Elizabeth Cole Tiny Kapoma. He's Rosanna in Ramona Bennett to name just a few these matriarchs kindled a great fire in me to give my life in leadership to my. Don't people in all of Indian country just as important. They showed me the way and for that I am forever grateful I also it draw great strength as they did from our Almighty creator. The advice of my fellow tribal leaders the spiritual nourishment in life lessons end of canoe journeys the inspiration passion in Ingenuity of our brilliant native youth and the ancestral teachings of our elders their wisdom encouragement and guidance have prepared me to meet this moment. So why do we gather here today. The purpose purpose of this annual address is to memorialize in affirm the enduring government to government relationship ship between tribal nations and the US government. It provides our assessment of the current health of that relationship and how it must be strengthened. This hallowed discourse not only speaks to elected officials political and judicial appointees in staff the federal government nor is it limited to tribal leaders employees in citizens it has meant for all Americans especially those who have been disenfranchised and rendered hopeless hopeless bi racial injustice economic inequality and the rapid decay of our American political system. They seek answers during these troubling times and they need to look no further than tribal nations to find them in that spirit. I stand before you today. Supported supported by more than six hundred tribal nations and governments across this land to share with you this undeniable truth. The state of Indian nations nations is strong across this land. Tribal nations are writing remarkable stories of cultural social political and Economic Mike Renewal. In the face of great obstacles we relentlessly plow forward in our eternal quest to create futures of hope Opportunity Eighty and cultural vibrancy for our youth in those generations yet. To come we do. So by invoking and practicing the greatest indigenous in his core values of all self-governance the crater gifted tribal nations with certain inalienable rights among them the right to steward word and draw nourishment from our traditional homelands cultivate extraordinary potential of our youth develop thriving economies that that provide opportunity for all of our people and manage our own affairs and control our own destinies as my mentor former Cornell leader in NCI CIO president Joe Delacruz so perfectly captured it. No right is more sacred to a nation to a people then the right to freely determine its social economic political and cultural future without external interferences the the fullest expression of this right is when a nation freely governs itself. We native peoples not only the inherent right but the sacred responsibility to live the way our creator intended speaking are indigenous languages living our traditional core values imparting them to the next generations practicing our life ways conducting our ceremonies and freely governing Orleans and Communities Tribal Nations are not nonprofit organizations. We are full fledged battle-tested governments guided by time honored cultural trope principles and recognized as such in the northwest ordinance the US Constitution and hundreds upon hundreds of treaties and Supreme Court precedents accidents however many Americans including many policymakers still don't understand the unique status status of tribal nations are unique political status. They don't recognize the indisputable fact that we are argh genuine governments with the right and more importantly the ability to govern our own lands and communities govern those in accordance with the values that make us who we are as native peoples but through mechanisms like this annual address address more and more Americans and others around the world are learning this truth and in doing so are turning to Indian country for inspiration shen direction and most importantly solutions to our common challenges in this great age of uncertainty acting with the next seven generations wins in mind our ancestors endured great hardships to forge our path to this day so that we would be able to be there answer to a prayer for thriving cultures healthy children in robust communities. We must and we will be worthy of the great sacrifices they made to who gives us this chance to sustain not only our way of life but our world for future generations.

"Good evening hello. My name is Elizabeth. Sam I'm death from Fourteen James Neck as Lihua Dan. That's by Prince George Right in the center of B. C. I.. Here to welcome Commu. Thank you I'm here to welcome you. Even though I'm a guest here I'm not from here. They asked me to do the welcome and the landing management so I I'm here to welcome you to the coast salish territories of the mosque Williams squamish and Sleigh with people's thank you. I'm a feminist Bart on my way from Toronto to right here in Vancouver minus seven degrees completely snowed in. I was in an airport coffee shop in Toronto Eh. I was studying the line and I was chatting to someone while struggling to open a bottle and big fan of people who struggle to open bottles. Ah trying to another comedian. I was struggling to open the special and an airline pilot in the line next to me and the key turned to me and said Oh I love your accent and I said Oh. Thank you so much for my bottle please in my head with your great big pilot hands mechanical bud and the sky and onto Fi God's nature and gravity and everything and he did. He opened it in his uniform. With his little wings on his little lapel and on his shoulder and this little stripes and it was all pilots. I struggle to open bustles. You should know this about me. I once couldn't open a bottle in a way that I was so thirsty. I made a taxi driver. I was in tears so the driver pulled. I've got out into the back of in London. Caps you need to get out of the call open my back in and continue to drive. I felt fine about it. Now my theory is when they close the pay gap and women have equal representation into men. I will learn to open bustles up until that point fucking they can do it I agree. I'm a feminist but men can shovel the walkway. That's particularly for today. Okay and on my way here you want me to hit you with another one. Okay Oh okay okay Yes I'm a feminist. But some jobs men do better than women blowjobs. They just know what they're we're working with and they know how to work it and do you think you give a better blow job if you know if I were a man. Yes if you re penis in fact so you think you'd know what you're working with. Okay so what. We need to ask women in the room who were either lesbians with previous experience experience or bisexual sexual women who have tasted both fruits women so that also is that people with vaginas better at understanding how to manipulate vaginas. That's what you're saying it is. I mean people with penises. Anybody can figure it out. It's up down. Yeah do you think that's the case whereas vaginas need more. Yeah more of an indoor situation happening. Now I'm a feminist but in the same applet where. My boss was opened by a friendly pilots with heft. I walk past the spanked shop. As in the owners. Light Fitting undergarment spunk. Show up and looked in the window briefly to mock the garments as many of you know I do not approve of springs and I genuinely January. Don't wear them except for certain dresses. And it I only compromise in extreme situations without and while I was looking mockingly into the winter of spank shop I saw. I'm not making this up. You can go google list. spanks arm tights. Yes it's a new thing to slim your arms to slim from Titan lift your arms and I'm mocked them so the home and then I walked away. I don't need spanks arm tights. Why tighter my arms are inadequate? I said that moment of going. That's that's the thing I didn't know I had to hate on my person. Someone asked me the other day was my favorite part of my body and I had to think for so long your favorite part. Yeah I've ended up seeing my face but that makes me feel a bit sad because that's really not what they were asking. Yeah faces called face because it's not bad. I yeah no I. It's I can tell you apart. Hits and yeah and I'll tell you why I should probably shouldn't need backup explanation but I like my personal. Hello and you know what I like about them. I don't think that the source of breasts humint feel really good about and I do. I think they are. You don't like the the Patriarchy doesn't look at these breasts and goat top dogs. They're not talk for breasts. If we're looking billboard or trying to please these men or not. I've got quite a big. Am I supposed to look right now. Dr. Oh by all means open my jacket to make it easier so so you know. They're just perfectly nice when they're out to the ball they're not sort of you know they don't face face to the heavens but that just I don't know I just think the perfect bowing down to the reflection of you just a good example of this Genera that's what I think strong example and then not spectacular breasts but I just like them. I've never ever Reva looked at my breasts and thought I wish they were different in my life. Now that's more than I can say from my size gang. I Say I've gained in Lost Lost Weight so many times that my boobs are like an atheist dad at Catholic masses just like. I'm not going to get up again. This is insane. Yeah I just I just think it's nice to have a part of your body that just works for you. I mean for me I can come up with funny to five got black tie event. Yeah come up get them. Help the girls out. That's why I like the boob books to where you can still thumb through different boobs. I've never seen them. You guys don't know the books burns. I don't know that's not a thing you've made up. Maybe I am. I'm a feminist. But I- harshly judged women who order coffee and a baby voice. Like we knew when you raise your voice to order like I don't. I know that I've become a different person since I stopped changing my voice to place an order so I'll just say like hi. Can I have a black coffee fee which is different than maybe even before. Hey what's hi. Can I have a black coffee. Please let you know what I mean. And then what's the woman especially harshly judged like I'm can I uh-huh a copy with like a little bit amount. 'cause that baby gets what they want but not on women you know what I mean I do. Maybe I should just like. Yeah yeah now. I hear that. I'm a feminist but I saw a post on social media. Yeah earlier that showed a woman with no makeup and then the same woman. Heavily made up. I love this Cleveland because the growing up I had white friends in black friends and when my white friends got a perm. It made their hair curly. We my black friends got it made their hair straight and I was always just wondering how this could possibly be. I did not understand it. I'm not a hair stylist. I don't know the sci-fi perms but at first I was permit hair curly hair straight. Great so I think they're another cultural or regional is just. The effect is very different for each one. relaxers are definitely cultural. Almost blacks strong faith. I'm a man of strong faith and I WANNA go biblical here for a second. This and that question is why certain people when they read the book and they see that the Almighty head hair of wool since we believe he looked more like me than you so so. How does that affect perms relaxers? Because if you have hair like wool you definitely need a perm. It's GonNa take more than a relaxing. The late at thing down.

Streaming Outlook for 2020

"We both Oh spent a lot of time talking about streaming this year I don't I don't know about you but I did. I knew Disney plus was going to be successful. I didn't I had no idea. It was gonNA have have this much content and really strike such a chord. But now we've got some more streaming services coming up. Netflix appears to have taken a hit. So far you're right now. That's my understanding as well to their reports out that they've lost about One report I saw earlier today was that they lost about one one million subscribers to Disney plus in the first many days. I'm not sure how many days but yes now. Netflix does have sixty million subscribers in the US. So that's a tiny fraction but it's still a million it is and and it's also been a short period of time since Disney plus launch. Let's not forget that and we also have apple. TV He plus now and then we have HBO. That's coming out and NBC Universal Peacock and the Higher Level Point for consumers is that Josh many people thought that was immune for any kind of churn or people leaving because all of us subscribe to Netflix. Well the reality that he is that now. We're seeing that. Even Almighty Netflix needs to contend with that issue of of people who are willing to leave because they the other choices in the marketplace so speaking of other choices. Hbo Max Peacock. What's your prediction about them? I think what we have so many major players now that are trying to take our dollars in this. Subscription video on demand in space in which Netflix plays Disney and apple. Now play and others. I think it's going to be increasingly difficult for new service providers to breakthrough. HBO HAS DAY JR B O name so HBO. Max is going to be interesting but it still will have a hard time breaking through midst everything else and here's why Hbo Max. I believe that they're pricing it. At what is it fifteen nine hundred fifteen dollars so fifteen dollars you can get. HBO and a all kinds of other content. That are in the Warner your family. And that's like a great by but again it's fifteen dollars. Hbo Still can break through to a much smaller audience but still can be successful successful because the HBO brand so HBO has the brand that already speaks to a certain significant number of consumers out there many any of whom have already signed up for HBO now HBO now for the same price. Essentially all right once again. The predictions actions from Peter chatty create. TV media what will you be streaming New Jersey. What's what's on your docket? Well on New Year's Eve I'm going to be in Thailand and celebrating in pawtucket so I won't be streaming anything and that's one of my predictions by the way for next year is live experiential. Entertainment is going to be a SIG significant advocate more significant part of media and entertainment strategies. Because in this increasingly digital world of ours we still need to get out. We still need to experience. Listen I think that those kind of Selfie moments are going to become increasingly important to

"Hello word nerds. Welcome to another episode of the dictionary, starring me Spencer. But in the future, you will be hearing other voices here. I've already spoken to some people who are interested in being guest readers of the dictionary. So, yeah. In the future, there will be other voices. So you won't have to listen to me drone on and on. You can hear somebody else drone on and on won't that be fun. Alright I word for this episode is the bottom of the first column of page thirty four. It is the word almighty. A. L. M. I. G H, T Y. It is the I form of it. This is an adjective from before the twelfth century one is often capitalized having absolute power overall as in almighty God. And now let's lower the pitch in my voice, and I can say Omori dog, because that's fun to a relatively. Unlimited in power. I think it's funny, that, that one is relatively unlimited in power, but the other one is absolute power a right. The example for two eight is an almighty board of directors to be having or regarded as having great power or importance as in the almighty dollar three we have these synonym mighty used as an intensive as in an almighty Shaq almighty nece is a noun now, we have the second form of almighty, this is an adverb from eighteen thirty three to a great degree. That's the definition synonym is extremely as in, although he did not precisely starve. He was all mighty hungry. That is from W A swan Berg, I think I should have brought some water down here because my voice is getting a little rough, I will chug through next word. Is almighty again, but this one is capitalized. This is a noun from before the twelfth century, we have these synonym God one, and it is used with the word the next is almond. Like the thing that you eat. It's an almond. This is a noun from the fourteenth century one. A vigil patients fruit of a small tree of the rose family with flowers and young fruit resembling those of the peach, especially it's Ella soil. Edible kernel used as a nut. So the scientific name for the small tree mentioned at the beginning is prune ass- dual SIS. And then it says S Y N period. I'm not sure if that's a synonym or, or something along those lines, it has the letter p which I'm assuming is just the abbreviated form of prunes, and then I'm McDowell loose. So that's one thing. Next thing is, I didn't know that the almond was part of the roads family. I think that's kind of interesting. And it is a drew patience fruit. I have no idea what that means. I never heard that word, but it's fascinating to learn things like that. Which I will probably forget as soon as I'm done, editing. This episode next definition one, b is any of several similar fruits to a tree that produces almonds next. We have almond almond. Hyphen. E. Y. E D. This is an adjective from eighteen forty nine having narrow slant almond shaped is next. We have. Almoner. A. L. M. O. N E R. This is a noun from the fourteenth century one one who distributes alms to is British a social service worker in a hospital next is the word almost like I've almost finished the letter A, except I haven't, I'm about halfway through. This is the first form of it. It's an adverb from before the twelfth century very nearly but not exactly or entirely. As in we're almost there. Now, we have these second form of the word almost this is an adjective from seventeen nine very near but not quite as in an almost failure next. We have alms the thing that the almoner gives out. This is a noun from before the twelfth century one is archaic. We have these synonym charity to something as money or food given freely to relieve the poor alms giver is a noun and alms giving is also noun next. We have almshouse this is all one word this is a noun from the fourteenth century one is British a privately financed home for the poor to, has the synonym, poor house. Next is alms men. A L, M, S, M, A N vis is a noun from before the twelfth century. No surprise a recip. Of all, GMs could be updated to say Elms person or alms woman, but no just owns men next. We have the word almanac Icho. I guess it could be all nico- but I think it's Allen. Akot A L, and I see. Oh, this is a noun from nineteen thirty five a powerful permanent magnet, alloy containing iron nickel aluminum and one or more of the elements, cobalt copper, and titanium and the word is from the first two letters of aluminum nickel, and cobalt. So it's probably all Nikko. Because you say aluminum at least I do next is the word aloe AL o e vis is a noun from before the twelfth century again, one is plural. The fragrant wood of an east Indian tree of the Missourian family. And I hope I'm pronouncing misery. Eerie on correctly. The east Indian tree has a scientific name, it is aqua Loria agai, yoga or AGA Loach to a any of a large genus aloe of succulent chiefly southern African plants of the Lilly family with bustle leaves and speak eight flowers or spiky flowers to be the dried juice of the leaves of various Aloes used especially formerly as a purgatory of usually used in plural. But singular in construction, I think it's the word construction. It just says C, O, N, S, T, R, period. I would assume construction is right? Like, when you're constructing a sentence, but I could be completely wrong on this one and apologies. If I sound stupid to see we just have these synonym aloe VERA, which is our next word, but real quick. The etymology for Alloa says this is a Latin. It doesn't give a Latin word, but it does say dried juice of aloe leaves. And it is from the Greek word aloe spelled the same, but it has a line over the e now, we are getting to aloe VERA to separate words and we'll say this is the last episode for no, the last word for this episode, not the last episode for this word this is a noun from seventeen sixty six and aloe whose leaves furnish a gelatinous emolient extract used, especially in cosmetics, and skin creams. Also such an extract or a preparation composed primarily of such an extract. The etymology says this is new Latin. It's a species name from aloe plus the Latin VERA, and VERA is the feminine of veru which means true. And there's more at the word. Very by the way. There is a scientific name aloe Bah. Bar bonanzas, and then a VERA, which is our word so that will end this episode. Thank you so much for listening rate and review share et cetera et cetera. And until next time this is Spencer reading the dictionary goodbye..

"They're playing in very secretive bunch. So I'm not I doubt the I doubt that would ever happen. I doubt. We'll even know if any of them seen have seen the movie, that's the interesting thing about all these people is that you're all the three performance. I've mentioned are real people. Yeah. They were all they all exist in the world. And that's the tough thing to play. If you're doing it because you you gotta deal with the fact that they're real. Yeah. And then find your own way into it. Right. Yeah. For sure there's an I know people have said this you before, but there is an added responsibility. When you're playing somebody real, it's I would think. Yeah. It's actually somebody like Mark for sure. Yeah. And the fact that I've gotten to know him and become friends with him even adds to that as well. Yeah. It's it's different in the sense that it's just not all left to your nation. There are hard facts that you have to go by and and and try to understand the essence of who that person is. It's not it's it's not left so much up to you to create whatever sort of character. You you see it as but at the same time, you have sourced material, which is helpful. I could read a lot about Rumsfeld. I could visit Marc HOGAN camp and and see his world and try to understand even a little bit what he had gone through. And how he was coping how he's he's using this magical world. Because it's it's interesting in terms of of a guy like that. Who is incidentally, very self deprecating and can understand how people could see that. This is an oddity. He thinks it's kind of funny. He knows that it seems kind of weird that his world this thing that is created. He knows it seems a little weird. And and as you watch I watched the documentary, and and with any luck people watching the film, it does seem odd as you're approaching it. But once you get into the story and see how this is helping him and see the. The the route of you know, the the joyfulness and the hope that it is instilling in him. It doesn't seem that ought anymore. At least it didn't to me, it feels reliable, and it is relatable, even the joy is relatable. But so is the fear the fear of going door Hort yet to do that? Yeah. Scare you Steve. Does anything scare me? Plenty of things snakes. I don't snakes haven't worked with any snakes. Have I worked with? I bet. I have. I think I've I'm sure I've been out. Remember, I well, I did this movie called Evan almighty. And I was around a long. There might have been some stings involved there. I almost attacked by a monkey. On that. Because I was trying to improvise with the monkey with a monkey who didn't want to improvise heated. No, we were. Improvising. And what's wrong with them? Boy, not a good because I did sell like, hey, man. Give me that like we were supposed to be drinking. I said give me that. He went. Just scared the. Yeah, he heeded not I thought. Oh, that's right. I'm not improvising. With a human being this is a wild animal who would you know, claw, my eyes out if given the chance like win was the equity. He was he was sag after and it had way bigger trailer than I did. So well, that's what puts it there. So there are no more mountains for you to come. You pretty much done everything except play Orson. Well, this is the last stop for me everybody. Even when you were on, even though you are on SNL, you dealt with all these people that want you to be Michael Scott. They always say go back to the office as if the office was still on. But you're just not on it. Right. But they need to be told. It's not it's not eighty on. You can watch it. But it's not being made. Right. Are you going to do a version of it is a movie? Oh, good. I want that. You're scoop I want that. So they'll be a movie version, but you won't you'll play. Chris Inskeep part. It's you know, what that would be the best. This is what I think we should do. I think the office should come back. But we should do it as cheers. We just take a different take a different. Show within the archives office can I'm you know, I'm norm or somebody, you know..

"Bruce almighty and Royer of ophthalmology associates. Okay. This is not good. We were led to believe that we had the author for two segments till about fifty five after and then we just found out from the publisher he had to go. We just invited your phone calls for Andrew Roberts. Who wrote a great new book on Winston Churchill thousand pages long? And then he was yanked from underneath. I don't know where he went to. But he's not with us. Okay. It's the darkest hour. So if you had a question for him, I'm so sorry, if you have a comment, we certainly will take that and Suzy. I don't know where you were. But thank you for joining us on kmox. My comment is that I think his book should be made mandatory for children in school to read. Well, it's it's pretty long. It's it may not be for kids. It's. Well, high school high school, absolutely certainly the honors repeat courses, right? And because children today complain if they have to walk a little ways to school. They can't even walk a mile to school. I walked three miles each way to get my high school education, and they're uphill. Yeah. They were. Yeah field. Anyway, you're the best. Thank susie. That's that's not a bad suggestion. And I appreciate your call. And so then again, we did expect the author to be with us. We have a technical problem. We apologize for that. Absolutely. Okay. But that brings us neatly to our next subject, which I was going to discuss next hour, but I don't know hanging to find time to do it yesterday. I was at the friendliest store in town sh nooks love Chinooks. Actually, there's a lot of grocery stores are like, but I am frequently at Chinooks and for the Salvation Army tree of lights program. They're asking you. When you check out. Do you want to round it up, and they said it'll be an extra twenty five cents. Would you like to round it up for the Salvation Army? Well, I happen to know. The Salvation Army does some great work in the greater Saint Louis area and eighty five cents of every dollar that's raised for the Salvation Army goes to programs. So their administrative costs are only fifteen percent. So when I was asked to raise. You know, a quarter. I said, yes. Re last night. I had dinner with someone who told me that she was asked to raise it four cents. And she said, no because of the principle of the thing, and I thought the principle thing in other words, she's there at a shop for groceries. She's not there to give money. The Salvation Army. She's got a bucket in her life that she gives to charity, and that's that. And she doesn't want to go shopping everywhere or they ask you do you want to do you wanna raise your rounded up your your Bill to a dollar and the excess goes the Salvation Army? I actually think it's a clever fundraiser, but I didn't realize that could be irksome to some wouldn't even give four cents. Actually, I'm one of those people that when I get a Bill like the credit card. I feel better if there are fewer digits. So if it says twenty four dollars and seventy five cents. I would rather I'd say twenty five point zero zero. And that's how I am. I don't know why. Forty and something I don't know. I wasn't who knows. I was neglected as a kid. But anyway. I.
